Old Eminem fan here. It feels surreal to think how we got here. From SSLP to TDOSS - it has been one hell of a ride. Over the years, my music taste has changed for better or worse but one thing I say that there's not an artist on Earth who can give me the same level of adrenaline rush like Em. I might prefer other hiphop albums to his these days but no other rapper excites me like Em when it comes to a new album.
I still remember the feeling of listening to Slim Shady for the first time - such raw emotions filled with intricate rhyme schemes and intense storytelling. For someone like me, the Shady persona has been an integral part of my childhood and boyhood. So it feels surreal to think how we got here.
Given my previous experience with Em albums, I do not believe he will retire the Shady alter ego for good but if he does, I would like to say - "Thank you, Slim". It really has been one hell of a ride.

All of the stories followed a rhyme scheme, and had a pen-and-ink art style representing scenes from the story on every other page. I'm not sure if they were horror-themed, but I remember the book reminding me a lot of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, but less immediately scary.
In particular, I'm trying to remember the name of a story about a butler literally boring the guests of a high society dinner party to death with his rambling. The butler was described as being "pie-faced," elderly, and senile. I can't remember the story besides this little snippet and the conclusion: the guests are antsy and trying to leave the party because of progressively unsettling events, but everyone is horrified when they hear the only exit door being locked. They all turn to see the butler locking the door and tucking the key away somewhere they can't get to. The book then says "'What's done is done,' he said, as he went to join the rest." and he sits down and begins recounting a story from his youth to a dejected captive audience. An unknown amount of time passes, and the police break down the door after hearing about a bunch of local notables' disappearances, and they find a room full of dead bodies with no signs of injury, and the butler cluelessly prattling on about stories from his past as if nothing had happened.
