Sentence starters for 1st grade

Hi guys! I don’t really know how these subreddits work, as I mostly use Reddit for more technical advice.
I guess I have to introduce myself. I am an ethnical Russian born in Ukraine and raised in Germany. When I first moved here at the age of seven I got heavily bullied, which definitely left a mark, and for the rest of my time at my (private) school, I was mainly considered a weirdo (which to be honest I was). However, in the last 2 years or so I got to know some people outside of school and formed a friend group that knew me as I am right now and weren’t affected by my negative reputation at school. At the same time I slowly overhauled my style, started grooming my hair, which emphasised my relatively fit body (I have been working out since the age of 13).
Now, nearly a year ago I finished school and due to the fact that I didn’t go to a state school and because my grades weren’t the best, I had to take a course away from home in order to be able to apply to uni. That course mainly consists of Ukrainian girls (about 60-70%). Unfortunately I didn’t find a lot in common with the guys in the course, yet I did get along very well with the girls, as they mostly speak Russian or Ukrainian (which I don’t speak, yet I do understand).
After about two months of being in that course I realised that I am deeply in love with one girl. It may sound cringe, but it’s not one of those middle school crushes, where you are sexually attracted to most pretty girl in the class. In fact, I do not care about sex anymore and I have come to terms with the fact that I am a virgin (boy and I thought the previous sentence sounded cringey). Me and that girl get along very well, we have a common sense of humour and I believe we like each other as friends. However, I know I cannot take that friendship anywhere further because she has a boyfriend. I don’t know the guy personally, but I know that he’s 26, German, is doing his masters degree and funnily enough drives the same car as me. The girl doesn’t talk about him all the time, but as far as I understand they seem to love each other and even though they see each other only on weekends, they seem to have a healthy relationship.
And so, I am deeply in love with a girl who is in a relationship with a man who is older than me, has a better education than me and isn’t an immigrant (even though I do think of myself as a German). Now, I’ll state this directly, even though I don’t know the guy, I respect his and the girl’s relationship and as much as I want to be together with the girl, it’s just not right to break up their relationship.
So, now I just have to erase those thoughts in order to find someone else, or at least live in peace alone. But the mind doesn’t just work like that! After all, I cannot just stop talking to her.
What do I do? How do I get rid of romantic thought about her? Please help me, because it is literally killing me. Combined with other problems in my life I cannot sleep, I eat critically little and sometimes I can’t even focus on the road while driving.

Hello, I’m looking for some help. My daughter will be starting guitar classes at school once a week in 1st grade, and I’m curious what guitar would be a good starter for her. I have my mid-grade Martin (she’s not using that) and a full size Seagul S6 (my first guitar). I feel both would be way too big for her to use.
I’ve always heard it said that when your kid is learning an instrument, to not just get the cheapest beginner instrument as the inconsistent sound can be disheartening to them as they start to learn, and can cause them to quit. I want to get her a decent first guitar that’s also small enough for her to learn on, without being of the same quality as those ‘starter guitars’ you can buy at like Costco and Sam’s Club. I had one as a kid, and I never used it.
I’d like to spend no more than $5-600 on the guitar but can push if needed. I know I will have to get a case, strap, spare strings and probably picks as well. I’m not buying her a ‘nice’ guitar, as I can’t justify it.

I am finally starting my filmmaking journey this summer. I am looking to film short auteur films and high-end music videos, so I'd love to get some guidance on what gear to get before I waste too much money. I don't need a starter camera per se, and I'm going to learn how to work with lenses, color grading, lighting, and audio, which is why I'd rather spend most of my money on those things. I am thinking of getting the cheapest camera body possible, which still shoots raw footage and is future-proof for a bit but lacks all the knick-knacks that come with investing in the other gear.
I'll build my lens kit slowly over time, but I'm considering using vintage stills lenses I already have/can borrow from friends for more character. I wouldn't mind spending on a zoom lens that can be used for run and gun though. Audio is something I know I'm just gonna have to research and find what has the right feel for me, but any tips on that would be great. I have no idea what lighting gear to get; I'll probably get whatever simple, cheap things are at the shop because there are lots of tricks to get the right lighting without expensive gear from what I've seen. The biggest investment I want to make is on the rig setup, but I see so much out there that I don't even know where to start. I need great stabilization and something modular for versatility (camera-only gimble, shoulder rig, track shots, car mount shots, etc.).
I may be too in over my head with all this, but I want to have as much control over the way my footage will look with the cheapest gear possible, and I don't mind the learning curve at first, especially because screenwriting and cinematography are my passions. What should I be looking for when it comes to all this gear? Appreciate any help greatly.

TL;DR: Direct report plagiarized. Need advice on next steps.
During the editing process of a deliverable, it came to my attention that a direct report of mine plagiarized from published academic literature. There's not much nuance in terms of whether it really is plagiarism or people being nitpicky--it was discovered during editing (not specifically looking for plagiarism). This person has completed other deliverables in the past that have been submitted to clients.
Additional context that I think is important:
Due to some (in my opinion) unprofessional actions taken by the PM (not me, we are matrix style), this plagiarism was disclosed to ~4 other team members. This was before I was notified, but that's a whole other issue. This, I would assume, has eroded trust across what is a significant portion of this small company.
After noticing the plagiarism, additional sections of this deliverable were assigned to my direct report (the alleged plagiarist), without sufficient communication or corrective action. These assignments were made before I was made aware of the situation.
We have no explicit training on plagiarism at the company. We assumed (wrongly, apparently) that those we hire who have post-grad/advanced degrees understand that plagiarism is bad and not acceptable.
Planned next steps (not fully within my control):

1. Comb through current and past deliverables from this person to understand the true extent of the problem.
   
2. Meet with direct report one-on-one to ask about how and why this occurred.
   
3. Give him a chance to correct instances of plagiarism. If he rewords these instances sufficiently, then he stays on the project and no further corrective action is taken. If he somehow fails to do so (and I don't understand how), he's taken off the project with corrective action tbd.
   

Is this sufficient for holding someone accountable? I personally feel like this trust is broken, and I cannot trust that future work won't contain these issues. How can I expect other employees to trust this person? If someone still doesn't understand or take enough care to not plagiarize after 7-8+ years of advanced education, plus grade school and high school, how are these actions going to get them to understand? Am I doomed to comb through this person's future work forever?
Any advice or ways you've handled this issue would be greatly appreciated.

My gf & I have been together for almost 13 months now.
She's my cousin which means her father is the brother to my mother (it's not inappropriate or taboo in my country to be in a relationship with your cousin FYI) & she's very caring - considerate - kind - overall great & we go on date nights regularly. Even had intercourse a couple times. Never fought or cursed / yelled at each other & only had 3 - 4 calm arguments where we talked about an issue over the phone. The issue being:
She believes she's not important to me even though honest to god - I love her greatly. She studies in a university - works a 9 - 5 & goes to gym every other day. We text during the day & I try to reply asap to hers. I make sure to call her when she's off from work when I was busy during the day & couldn't text her - & we talk at length about different topics. We go on date nights once every two weeks for two reasons both of which are because of me. 1st being it's a 90 minutes drive from my place to hers & I have to use my father's car. 2nd being I'm currently unemployed (finished my mandatory military service 3 months ago & I'm burning through my savings) & even though sometimes she pays our checks with no complains - I'd like to be the one paying & for her to save her money.
A couple of nights ago I called her to ask about her day & her answers were cold (either one word or short sentences). When I asked what's wrong, she brought up the argument that she believes she's not important to me & that she's disappointed that I ditch her to do other things, then continued to talk about instances of me "ditching" her the past couple of weeks when tbh I actually was busy with something, wasn't my intention to make her feel bad.
I tried explaining & that I'll try to make it up to her but she kept saying that I don't "understand" what she meant & started talking from the beginning. This happened 2 - 3 times & she kept mentioning that I didn't "understand" her words which made me slightly angry, to which I said: maybe "we" should spend a couple days away from each other to think about what the other person means since I don't "understand" what you're saying & talk to each other again in 2 or 3 days - to which she replied sarcastically: "take your time. you like spending time away from me anyway".
Afraid that our argument might turn into a fight, I said goodbye, waited to hear hers & then hung up. We haven't communicated in anyway for 3 days.
I intend to fix my relationship because I love her very much. But here's my question:
How can I assure my girlfriend that she mean more than everything to me? How do I show her my affection & feelings other than hugging - kissing or saying things like "I love you" to her? How do I make this "insecurity" of hers go away?
TLDR: My GF Thinks She's Not Important to Me (even though she is & I love her very much) & It's Causing Serious Problems to Our Relationship. How Do I Assure Her That She IS In Fact Important to Me?

Hello! I just need some corrections and maybe even some practice sentences so my Asl grammar can become better. My grammar is one of my weak points (Have A’s on my whole transcript except in English Writing). Im taking Asl 3 (Have an A grade as of now) and my last final of this semester is all about signing english sentences into proper time/topic/comment ASL structure. Just let me know if its looking good or ugly.

2.) English: When I was 5 I saw a bird get hit by lightning. I was shocked! ASL: I 5 YEARS OLD SEE BIRD (Somatic Classifier 1 horizontal in flying motion) LIGHTNING (ECL) (Somatic Classifier 1 horizontal falling down) DEAD. I SHOCKED. (maybe add a BCL looking startled)

It's just that, y'know, this one isn't for you.
If you're still left reading this and haven't rolled your eyes too much at my incidental airs of pretension, welcome! I'm a mid-twenties writer looking for partners in storytelling who revel in and relish the joys of advanced-literate-to-novella back-and-forths. The crackle and shimmer of lead characters with chemistry and charm. The well-rounded shine of a collaborative setting populated by enchanting side characters. The poetry of clever dialogue, the deft touch for detail and description, the breeziness of a lighthearted story, well-told, burnished by emotional stakes.
The always-exhilarating sense of anticipation for the next installment of the story, and the enthusiasm for responding in kind.
I'm not coming into this post with any pre-conceived prompt ideas or plots, which is where you come in! I'd love if you'd just send me a starter. The best, most entertaining one you can dream up.
And I promise, guaranteed, I'll knock your socks off with a response.

All I ask is for a generally lighthearted vibe (with plenty of space for conflict and drama), a willingness to write in a universe not too dissimilar from our own (sorry, too, to the high fantasy and hard sci-fi fans still reading!), and be up for a story with a playful romance between our protagonists.
Oh! And also be at least 20 years old, please.

I’m a fifth year teacher but until this year I’ve only taught 1st grade. I love my 5th graders and my school. They’ve worked hard and grown a lot. I want to do something for them for the awkward rest of the day once EOGs are complete. Some fun activity, reward, celebration… Something that’ll shake the test nerves off. I have 90 students. I don’t have a budget and I don’t think celebrating with material objects or food would be all the way to go anyway. Any ideas of what we could do? A talent show is all my brain can come up with. :(

This all started in 8th grade. I have various mental disorders (mostly inherited or from childhood) all of which at the time were unmanaged. Me and a friend were in our English class. There had been a shooting in the state over recently, and the whole week everyone had been on edge. I was pissed off at the friend, and he either didn’t care or didn’t notice and was throwing erasers at me. I was a pissy little shit and kept telling him to stop and he didn’t. I told him (joking of course because I was like 13) but also pretty pissed that I was going to “blow up this room with you in it”. The teacher asked what I said and the kid repeated it, thinking she would know I was joking, and she called the principal over the intercom, who called the police. While waiting for the police I was taken to the principals office, was then arrested and had my prints and headshot taken. I was found not guilty in my court hearing and sentenced to court ordered therapy for ten months, but due to the nature of the situation the charges will be never be dropped. (Sorry for the long post AMA)

My wife and I have a kid entering 1st grade and another entering pre-k. We’d like to have them in the same building. Private schools are out of budget. Our local school in Brooklyn is PK-5, but that seems scarce when I search GreatSchools? Our HHI will be around $250K, so projecting we can pay a little under $4500/month for a two bedroom, but would feel more comfortable around $3800.
What do I need to know about making this happen? Enrollment deadlines? Residence in specific zones?
We’re prepared to prioritize school districts to make sure our kids are in a good place, so neighborhood agnostic for the moment. Points of emphasis for us are:

• Quality of School
• Walkability of Neighborhood
• Commute, dead last. If I gotta drive an hour, so be it.

I (f) can't figure out how my guy friend feels about me. I'm worried that I'm making him uncomfortable because I can come across as incredibly intimidating. We've been friends for 5 years, but we met in person twice. We're both introverts.
Our 1st hangout: - he was avoiding my eyes - lots of compliments - very giggly - his friends know about me - extra fidgety - mumbling random words - lingers around me - one word answers - leans closely to listen <1 foot - avoids me in groups
Our 2nd hangout: - he asked me to hangout - monotone voice - looks disinterested - intense staring (more than 10 seconds), not smiling/laughing at all - body facing towards me, leaning in - staying extemely still, no fidgeting - very quiet, short sentences - walks too fast, leaves me behind, although we're going to the same place.
Other info: He also has ADHD. Not sure if that's relevant. He's talkative and flirty around everyone else but me, and it makes me a little sad that I can't get close to him.
I don't understand what's going on. Not sure if this friendship is worth keeping.

I am probably overthinking this, but the school sent home a paper to fill-out in preparation for putting kids into classes next year (in my case my kiddo is moving from kindergarten to 1st grade).
One question… I just don’t know what to say. How would YOU answer this?

1. What is something unique we may not know about your child?

Like, they have had her all year… idk what they don’t know… it feels like that special talents portion of a resume where you throw something random like “can juggle 4 water pitchers.” Idk how to offer something helpful/ valuable…

Hi! I’m doing 5th year in Spain and I’ll be going to Ireland to do 6th year. The school system is completely different, so I am so lost. If anyone could help me out with any of this questions I would appreciate it so much!

1. I know how the point system works, but why do they give you your marks back so late? How do you know if you got into the university you applied to if they give you your marks back in August?
   
2. Related to the 1st question, I am planning on applying to university through EUNICAS, anyone has any experience with it? How does it work?
   
3. Is geography a hard subject? How can I get good grades?
   
4. How hard is business? Is it worth it to do it in higher level?
   
5. I’m really bad at maths, I wouldn’t like to take it in ordinary level but I don’t think I would pass higher level. Although those extra 25 points look good to me. What should I do?
   
6. Anyone has any tips for engineering?
   
7. Is LCPE a good choice even though I have to do the projects?
