Farm Boy - Cucumbers - $5.00 for 4 -- I assume you can buy them for 1.25 each, which is awesome. Cucumbers suffer some wild swings these days.
- Dried Sausage (various, Farm Boy, Rosette de Lyon) - $11.99 300g chub -- Buy one, get the next 50%. That would work out to $18. It's not great, but it's not terrible either. Works out to $3/100g, which isn't terrible for nice specialty dried sausage.
- Produce Price Rating: High
Farmers Pick (can be a little late on their flyer) (
https://www.farmerspick.ca/flyer-specials)
Food Basics - Beef striploin steak or roast - $5.98 per lb -- Probably AA grade. Pretty fair for beef. We sometimes see those dips into the $4/lb territory, but it's very cut dependent.
- Lamb leg (fresh, New Zealand) - $3.98 per lb -- Great price for lamb!! I should buy one of these and make a proper shepherd's pie.
- Atlantic salmon (fresh) - $8.88 per lb -- Awesome price for salmon! And it's Canadian-sourced. Nice!

- Mini cucumbers - $2.98 6-pack -- Interesting note: 5-6 minis is about a pound… And sometimes you can find them loose for cheaper…

- Nuts (various, Irrrestibles) - $2.98 200-250g bag -- Nice! Though, I bought some walnuts the other week and they were a little stale tasting and I couldn't bring myself to eat them before I gave up on them. So to the squirrels they went.
- Fresh baguette - $0.99 235g loaf -- Nice! I think you'd have to look at the RCSS at any regularly low-priced fresh baked baguette.
- Canned tomatoes (Primo) - $1.25 796ml can -- Excellent! This is a stock-up price!
- Dry pasta (Primo) - $1.48 900g pack -- Again, this is a stock-up price! Get a few bags! Tip: orecchiette makes for excellent mac and cheese.

- Produce Price Rating: Medium-high to high.
Freshco (price matcher)
- Beef eye of round (AA grade) - $3.99 per lb -- Excellent price! Limit of 2.

- Dinner sausage (Compliments) - $12.00 1.4kg pack -- This basically $4/lb, which very acceptable for fresh sausage.
- Boneless turkey roast (frozen, Butterball) - $19.99 1.5kg -- Math time: goodness that's $6/lb. I mean, it's a meat-amalgam roast. But still, that's 2-3x the price of fresh turkey…

- Espresso beans (Lavazza) - $16.99 1kg bag -- Not terrific. Reminds me of a fellow's mention of 1kg bags for $10 at Costco… Anyhow, I grind my own coffee every morning in a simple blitzer. Works out to 10c a cup, or 20c to fill a big mug.

Provigo - Ground beef (medium) - $18.99 per lb -- For the love of God and all that is holy, that's 4-5x standard price ranging!!! What the hell are they thinking of advertising this? Is this gaslighting? LOL Independent and Loblaws have their extre lean ground for 8/lb, and that's STILL not a good deal by any means. How can they do $19/lb!?!
- I don't know what's going on with Provigo this week. This is cracked out. I'm not even bothering with their flyer this week…
- Produce Price Rating: Fairly high to eye watering

- Butter (Lactantia) - $4.99 454g bar -- Nice $5 butter!
- Produce Price Rating: High. Kinda like Sobeys. You can see a 50% average mark-up compared to a lot of other stores. It's nice produce, but it costs you.

- Luncheon meat - $1.49 340g -- I've seen these cans for WAY more. Good pantry item for cheap meals.
- Canned tomatoes (Unico) - $1.79 796ml can -- Fair price for canned tomatoes. Not that Basics deal. Even GT has a leg up over this one.
- Canned tuna (Ocean's) - $1.49 170g can -- Fair price for canned tuna. Those 99c deals are getting rarer and rarer. On that note, they also have canned albacore for 5.89. That's a wild 4x price. I wonder what the flavour difference is…
- Earth's Own Almond bev - $2.99 1.89L -- Great price! Note that the oat milk is also on sale but 80c more.
- Produce Price Rating: Generally quite low, selectively amazing for some items.
Produce Depot (usually a little late on the flyer)

- Potatoes (PEI) - $3.99 10lb bag -- Nice! $4 10lb bags are always welcome!
- Pears (Bartlett) - $1.79 per lb -- Not the best deal, but not bad. I think 1.49/lb is the better target, but this ain't terrible.
- Navel oranges (California) - $1.29 per lb -- A little over that $1/lb mark for standard oranges, but there may be a quality difference that makes them shine. Don't walk by them without giving them a little look.
- Deli - Smoked ham - $1.89 per 100g -- Nice deal on deli ham!
- Produce Price Rating: Medium-low with very competitive specials on a shortened flyer. The small flyer is nice because it doesn't uselessly feature $6 heads of cauliflower and extremely high-price items that are either a confusion on the consumer, or an insult on the injury of not being able to afford supreme quality items.
Real Canadian Superstore (price matcher)
- Beef boneless rib roast or steaks (no grade) - $6.88 per lb -- 4 day sale only - 27th to 30th. This is probably Mexican-sourced. That doesn't mean it's bad, but it means it doesn't a grade. The price is nice, though.
- Turkey (fresh, Grade A) - $2.49 per lb -- More of that standard sale turkey.
- Ground beef (medium) - $4.99 per lb -- Upper-end price for sale ground. $4/lb is the stock-up target.
- Broccoli - $0.88 per crown -- AWESOME! Great price for broc crowns.
- Sweet potatoes - $5.00 10lb bag -- AWESOME! 50c/lb!!
- Onions - $2.99 3lb bag -- Average.
- Carrots - $4.00 5lb bag -- Nice! 80c/lb is a good rate for carrot.
- Green cabbage - $0.99 per lb -- Average sale for cabbage. Nothing to cry home about, but you're not getting ripped off.
- Mini-cucumbers - $4.00 11-pack -- Excellent price on a bulk pack of cucumber.
- Mushrooms - $5.00 680g shell -- Great deal on mushrooms! 227g shells usually got for $3-4, so the extra buck gets you 2.5x the quantity. I like slicing the criminis and baking them with a little oil and salt until very browned. Yum!
- Sweet peppers (Imperfect) - $6.00 2.5lb bag -- Very reasonable rate on peppers considering we're still seeing $3/lb+ on average.
- Grapes - $1.79 per lb -- Fantastic deal on grapes!
- Double-cream brie (PC) - $11.99 450g wheel -- Nice big wheels, good for baked bries.
- Grana Padano And Parmigiano - $22.00 800g hunk -- Math time: works out to 2.75/100g. More often, you'll find 200g for $8-10. So, it's a lot of cheese, but at a very good rate. And, if you store it well, parm will continue to age and dry a bit in the fridge, lending to the "flavour crystals" that build up in the cheese.
- Silk Almond bev - $2.99 1.89L jug -- Nice, about $1 off most other places.
- Produce Price Rating: Generally medium-low pricing, selectively amazing for some items.
Sobeys - Turkey (fresh, Grade A) - $1.95 per lb -- More of that standard sale turkey.
- Beef sirloin oven roast or steaks (AAA) - $6.88 per lb -- Scene Member Price. WOW! Hold the phone, that's AAA-grade for less than $7/lb. Regular is 7.99, which still really good by any stretch.
- Pork centercut loin or rib - $3.70 per lb -- Not amazing, but not bad. It's a fair price for loin. I'd hit a Metro if you want pork rib.
- Lobster tail (frozen or thawed) - $7.50 each -- Hmm… Interesting. Lobster is a bit of a toss up for price. Comparitively at this moment, this is a fair price for frozen lobster tail.
- Atlantic salmon - $9.77 per lb -- Scene Member Price. 2 days only, 28th and 30th. Reguarly 14.99/lb. This is what some would call "priced for a sale". $15/lb is stupid, $10/lb is a fair deal, but if Sobey's is your only option, then it's a great deal.
- Sausages (Johnsonville) - 2-for-1 - $6.99 250-500g -- It's not clear which packs are the 500g ones. It's meh deal if you get the 250g packs. It's excellent deal if you do the 500g packs.
- Asparagus - $1.77 per lb -- Good price for asparagus.
- Sweet potato - $1.29 per lb -- Average sale, but kinda actually good for Sobeys.
- Celery - $2.49 per head -- Nice! Fair price for celery. Basics still hasn't woken up and is still selling theirs for $4.
- Onions, Carrots - $2.69 2lb bags -- Oufff, this is unfortunate pricing…
- Russet potatoes - $1.49 per lb -- Ouch!! Why Sobeys! You were doing so well!
- Brick cheese (PC) - $5.77 400g bar -- For fair-priced cheese. Not under $5, but still ok.
- Produce Price Rating: Some sales can be quite good. But, it's generally a high price store, especially for produce. Some items are 50% more than more value-oriented stores.
Super C - Beef fillet mignon (roast or steaks) - $14.99 per lb -- This is actually a good price on a very nice cut of beef! Provigo had it at advertised at 36/lb. I think 25/lb is probably closer to the median price. But still, excellent price!!
- Ground beef (medium) - $3.49 per lb -- FANTASTIC! And lest we forget Provigo's $18/lb.
- Ground pork (extra lean) - $3.49 per lb -- FANTASTIC! Awesome price for ground pork! Extra lean means you're not paying for fat, which you can always add back in somehow haha
- Steelhead trout - $9.88 per lb -- Standard sale price on fresh trout. Not mindblowingly cheap, but still better than full price, which can easily range into $15/lb.
- Snow crab sections (frozen) - $8.88 per lb -- Good rate on crab.
- Lamb leg (fresh, New Zealand) - $4.99 per lb -- Decent price for lamb. Basics has it for $4/lb, but this is still a good rate.
- Smoked ham (Sugardale) - $2.49 per lb -- Nice! Most other places charge 3.49/lb for the exact same ham.
- Radishes - $0.99 per bunch -- Very good price for radishes. It's very rare to find better than this.
- Asparagus - $0.99 per bunch? -- It isn't specified if it's per lb or 325g bunches. Either way, fantastic price!
- Cucumber - $0.99 each -- Nice! $1 cucumber!
- Green cabbage - $0.99 per lb -- Decent rate on cabbage. Fair price, but not the best. I like seeing 88c/lb. And we've seen lower, but it's not common.
- Rutabaga - $0.99 per lb -- Fair enough. I think regular price, rutabaga floats toward 1.30/lb-ish. Like the cabbage, I prefer seeing 88c/lb.
- Potatoes (yellow, red) - $5.99 10lb bag -- Fair enough price for spuds. Not the best, but not terrible. We're seeing 10lb bags go for $7-8 (which is terrifying)
- Grapes - $1.79 per lb -- Excellent rate on grapes!
- Cantaloupe - $1.99 each -- Awesome!
- Strawberries (organic) - $2.99 454g shell -- According to the flyer, the organic and regular strawberries are the same price.
- Coconut - $0.99 each -- Fun!
- Clementines - $3.99 2lb bag -- Decent enough. It's tough to source a lower price than $2/lb.
- Double-cream brie (Le Baron) - $12.99 500g wheel -- Good price for a big wheel of brie.
- Feta (Selection) - $15.00 800g tub -- Good enough rate on feta. $2/100g is a good target price. More than that, and you should question it.
- Dried sausage (Irresistibles) - $7.99 400g chub -- Good price for nice dried sausage. The varieties are quite nice. I like the chorizo especially. That is addictive stuff.
- Pâté (Belle Bretagne) - $2.99 150g pack -- Decent sale. Not the $5-for-2 we saw some weeks ago, but 50c isn't a deal-breaker.
- Canned artichoke (Irresistibles) - $3.00 398ml can -- Nice! This is a sizeable portion for a good price. I love artichokes in salads and on pizza!
- Cretons (Selection) - $5.00 300g pack -- Nice rate on creton. There's also the Norel brand on sale this week for 5.99, same weight.
- Grenache caramel spread - $2.00 400g tub -- Oh wow… I haven't had this stuff in ages…
- Flour (Five Roses, Robinhood) - $13.99 10kg bag -- A little more than some other sales we've seen, but still much better than how smaller bags scale with price.
- Butter (Selection) - $4.88 454g bar -- Nice! Sub-$5 butter!
- Naturalia Almond bev - $2.00 946ml -- Decent price. It's not the $3 1.89L jugs we saw, but if you don't need 2L of it, then this is a fair way to go.
- Produce Price Rating: Generally low, but can creep into medium for some items. But, there's always something decent available!
T&T Supermarket https://www.tntsupermarket.com * Produce Price Rating: Usually very competitive, catering to Asian cuisine. Warning: their newest sales start on Fridays - so this is a late advertising of their sales.
Walmart - Turkey (fresh, Grade A) - $2.44 per lb -- Meh, for Walmart, I expected better than such an average price…
- Atlantic salmon - $8.98 per lb -- Nice! $1/lb less than most places most weeks. Very reasonble price for fresh salmon.
- Dinner and breakfast sausage (Maple Leaf) - $6.97 900g-1.2kg -- Fantastic deal on sausage!
- Smoked ham (bone-in, Great Value) - $1.37 per lb -- WOW! This is an AWESOME deal on dinner ham!
- Brussel sprouts - $1.97 per lb -- Excellent price for fresh sprouts.
- Broccoli - $0.84 per crown -- AWESOME! Great price for broc crowns.
- Cauliflower - $2.97 each -- This is a good price for cauliflower. Averages can float towards $4-5.
- Celery - $1.97 per head -- Nice! $2 is great for celery.
- Green peppers - $2.47 per lb -- Not bad for peppers. Sitll exorbitant, but better than $3/lb+.
- Pineapple - $2.97 each -- More of that $3 pineapple. Seems like pineapple import season lol. I don't think I saw a pineapple over $5 this week.
- Blueberries - $1.94 340g shell -- WOW! That's cheap! Excellent price!
- Mango - $0.97 each -- Fantastic deal! Hard to find mangoes cheaper than 1.25-1.50 a piece.
- Brick cheese (Cracker Barrel) - $5.77 400g bar -- Not under $5 but still better than paying regular price.
- Rondelé cheese spread - $2.97 125g pack -- Really good cheese spread for a great price!
- Cube stock (Knorr) - $0.88 80g 8-pack -- Normally about $1.00-1.25 basically anywhere any other day of the week.
- Frozen veg (Green Giant) - $2.67 300-750g bag -- Nice! Brand-name frozen veg for less than $3 a bag. I'm sure the 750g bags are for corn and peas, but still, it's a good price. Get some to keep in the freezer for soup and simple dinner sides,
- Instant Pot Pressure cooker - $89.98 8-qt -- $40 off regularly price. For those with small kitchens, this is a life saver. Pressure cooking can cut cooktimes in half or more. These electric countertop ones can also be used as slow cookers, for making yogurt, soaking dry beans, it's great for rice, making soup stocks from scraps, and more. And it's safer than running a stove element in many of those use-cases. There's a bit of a learning curve, but now it's an indispensable tool in my kitchen now and I absolutely abuse mine. And, for those who wonder, they fail safely. I've had one "fail" on me. It's not at all like a traditional stove-top pressure cooker, where if it fails it can blow a lid clear through a ceiling.
- Produce Price Rating: A little all over the place. Some really good prices between a lot of average pricing.
Costco (for referencing when looking through flyers - going to try to comment on these items more often)

- Paper Towel (Bounty) - $27.49 12-roll pack -- 2-ply; 86 sheets
- Toilet Paper (Kirkland) - $26.99 30-roll pack -- 2-ply; 380 sheets
- Toilet Paper (Cashmere) - $23.99 40-roll pack -- 2-ply; 250 sheets (on sale)
- Dish soap (Dawn Platinum) - $18.99 2.66L -- Food Basics often has this jug for $10!
- Laundry detergent (Purex) - $24.99 9.24L -- 250 loads
- Garbage bags (30 gallon; large) - $15.99 100-pack -- Amazon has Glad standard 74L bags, 100-packs for $23, sometimes less if on sale
- Countertop green bin liners - $21.99 125-pack -- Amazon has Glad Compostable green bin liners 100-packs for $18, sometimes less if on sale
- Produce Price Rating: I need to do a proper check to be sure, but I find it's pretty average. There's an illusion of getting a good deal because of the bulk. Just be careful.
Jean Coutu (new sales start Fridays)
- Produce Price Rating: I have to start checking these just in case...
Shoppers Drug Mart (new sales start Fridays)
- Produce Price Rating: Sometimes they have cheap butter, eggs, and milk on weekends.

2024.03.06 14:39 crimsontape This week's grocery review - Sales for March 7th to 13th - Returning asparagus deals and some pull-back on certain produce, along with low-priced beef and chicken.
(As always, flyers are out Wednesdays, most store sales for the new flyer start on Thursdays)
Adonis - Chicken breast (boneless skinless) - $4.99 per lb -- Fair price! Only really goes as low as $4.50ish/lb
- Beef (eye of round) - $6.99 per lb -- Pretty good price for eye of round!
- Tilapia fillets - $8.99 per lb -- Fish counter special. This isn't the best price for tilapia, but these cuts are typically thick, and don't have a lot of water weight, so you're getting your money's worth.
- Wild Alaskan pollock (thawed) - $4.99 per lb -- Great price for fish, but it is thawed!
- Fresh mullets - $3.99 per lb -- Great price for fresh fish!!
- Smoked herring - $8.99 per lb -- Interesting ingredient! Anyone have any experience with this? Ideal way to prep or serve?
- Yellow onions - $5.00 2x 5lb bag -- Nice deal on onions!
- Red onions - $5.00 2x 3lb bag -- I wonder if the yellow and red can be mix-and-matched. French onion soup, anyone?
- Potatoes (Red, Russet, Yellow) - $3.99 10lb bag -- Decent!
- Brick cheese (Black Diamond) - $4.88 400g bar -- Nice! That's a good deal for brich cheese!
- Halloom (Cedar, Phoenicia) - $1.89 per 100g -- Ahhh yee, grilling cheese! Similar cheeses, like paneer for example, can often be had for a little less. But this is fresh stuff out a counter.
- Yogurt (Cedar) - $4.00 2x 650g tub -- Great deal for yogurt! It's basically $1-2 off the regular total for two tubs.
- Ricotta (Saputo) - $4.99 475g tub -- Not an OMG sale, but still better than the $6-8 pricing we normally see for ricotta.
- Feta (Tre Stelle) - $5.99 375g tub -- A fair rate on feta is about $2/100g. So, this ain't bad at all!
- Deli - MTL-style smoked meat (Solmaz) - $1.99 per 100g -- Niiiice.
- Deli - Chicken breast (Solmaz) - $1.79 per 100g -- Also niiiiice
- Deli - Turkey breast (Alzahraa) - $1.49 per 100g -- This is a great deal. Usually stuff like mock-chicken or bologna are the only things cheaper, and only marginally at 30c-ish/100g less.
- Olive oil (Gallo) - $12.99 1L bottle -- Begrudgingly, this is a fair price per liter.
- Bread (Rudolph) - $2.99 500g loaf -- Decent price for nice sourdough!
- Produce Price Rating: Medium, but always has well-priced chicken, the deli meat sale rotations are always fantastic, and just the overall variety of goods is refreshing. Personal favourite store.
Farm Boy - Beef (sirloin tip roast, AAA) - $6.99 per lb -- Not a bad price for this cut of beef. Plus it's AAA, which is usually recally decent.
- Bacon (Leadbetters) - $3.99 375g pack -- Pretty good for bacon these days. You can score it for $3, but it's very brand-dependent. Besides, you shouldn't be eating that much bacon anyway!
- Green beans - $1.99 per lb -- Great rate for fresh beans!
- Brussel sprouts and Brocollini - $1.99 per lb -- Very good price for sprouts and nice greens!
- Pears (Bartlett) - $1.49 per lb -- Not the most terrific price, but pears have floated around $2/lb lately, so I call this a win.
- Deli - Smoked ham (Maple Leaf) - $1.99 per 100g -- Fantastic price. It's not common to see Farm Boy have deli pricing in this range.
- Deli - Summer Sausage (Schneiders) - $1.99 per 100g -- This stuff is addictive! And it's a decent price, too!
- Produce Price Rating: High
Farmers Pick (can be a little late on their flyer) (
https://www.farmerspick.ca/flyer-specials)
Food Basics - Beef (sirloin tip roast, AA) - $4.88 per lb -- WOW! Great price for beef!!! Lower grade, so probably not as marbled, the cuts might be tougher, but that's fine if you're using it for stews and braising over longer cooktimes.
- Ground beef (lean) - $8.98 2lb tubes -- Decent price for 2lb of ground, but we've seen it for less. A bump less than $4/lb is the better rate.
- Green beans - $2.88 340g bag -- Pretty good! I prefer the Farm Boy deal, as I suspect the quality will be a grade higher. But if the beans look good, then jump on these.
- Chopped salad kits (Dole) - $2.88 270-350g bag -- Decent price for quick salad kits.
- Asparagus - $1.88 325g bunches -- SNAP! Nice returning sale this week!
- Jamaican yellow yams - $2.88 per lb -- Do YOU know your sweet potatoes and yams? Yams are starchier and much less sweet.
- Sweet potato (regular and purple) - $1.28 per lb -- Decent price on sweet potatoes!
- Zucchini - $1.48 per lb -- Last week's sale was better at 88c/lb.
- Clementines - $1.88 2lb bag -- Nice!
- Apples (Cosmic Crisp) - $0.88 per lb -- VERY nice! Nice variety at a very good price!
- Pears (Bartlett) - $0.88 per lb -- Lol, and here I was touting Farm Boy's pears at 1.49/lb. THIS is a GREAT price for fruit.
- Coconuts - $1.48 each -- Well that's neat. It's not often straight up coconuts are advertised.
- Brick cheese (Black Diamond) - $4.88 400g bar -- Nice! That's a good deal for brich cheese!
- Fresh pasta ravioli and tortellini (O'Sole Mio) - $1.88 225g packs -- This is a decent price for these packs. It's not your nona's recipe, but it's decent stuff.
- Produce Price Rating: Low to medium low
FoodLand - Beef (top sirloin roast, AAA) - $7.99 per lb -- Not bad for beef. It's not a Food Basics sale at 4.88/lb, and we see a very similar product at Farm Boy for less.
- Avocado - $4.98 for 3 -- This is frightening. Again, more Cado Fiasco. No size indication. Just $5 for 3. If they're nice, large cados, then I wouldn't feel too bad about paying this price. If they're small and shitty, well, you know what to do.
- Celery - $2.99 per head -- Celery is a weird hard to pin thing these days. $2 here but it's small. $4 there and they're big but you always get a banged up stalk or two. That said, I have a feeling this'll be good celery.
- Strawberries - $2.99 454g basket -- Not bad. Not amazing, but not bad. FoodLand isn't exactly a store that appeals to lower pricing. So, $3, for this store, is pretty good.
- Produce Price Rating: Medium-high to high.
Freshco (price matcher)
- Chicken breast (boneless skinless, Maple Leaf) - $10.00 3-piece pack -- I can't tell what price this truly ends up being. It's probably for 2lbs, roughly. Always be careful about product pricing when there's no weight indicated at a fixed price.
- Pork tenderloin - $2.99 per lb -- Fair sale price for tenderloin. We can sometimes find other cuts for $2/lb, but this is still a reasonable rate for a nice, leaner cut of pork.
- Asparagus - $1.79 per lb -- More decently priced asparagus going around!
- Mini cucumbers - $2.99 6-pack -- Cucumber prices upset me overall, but this is decent. About $1 less than average,
- Brick cheese (Compliments) - $4.99 per 400g bar -- Nice! You can sometimes snag brick cheese for marginally cheaper, but I wouldn't pass by a $5 brick if it means saving a trip.
- Flour (Robinhood, Five Roses) - $11.99 10kg bag -- Nice! Standard sale price for 10kg bags, beats paying $18 for the same bag.
- Silk plant beverage - $2.99 1.75-1.89L -- Nice! That's about $1 off most pricing.
- Produce Price Rating: Low to medium low (more on the medium side)
Giant Tiger (*note the VIP prices; sales begin today) (price matcher)
- Bacon (Gold Label) - $3.44 375g pack -- Limit of 5. Great price for good bacon.
- Eggs (Burnbrae) - $4.98 18-pack -- Decent price for midrange brand eggs.
- English cucumbers - $0.97 each -- Very nice!
- Mini carrots - $0.97 340g bag -- Very good price for snacking carrots!
- Potatoes (red, yellow, russet) - $2.88 5lb bag -- Decent price for 5lb. This is a great midway down from a 10lb bag.
- Romaine lettuce - $2.88 3-pack -- Awesome price for 3-packs of romaine. Often $1-2 more
- Produce Price Rating: Generally on the low side.
Green Fresh Supermarket (Vanier) (check
https://greenfreshsupermarketvanier.business.site/) (full flyers available here
https://bbs.comefromchina.com/members/102157/#latest-activity) * Produce Price Rating: Usually very competitive, catering to Asian cuisine. Warning: their newest sales start on Fridays - so this is a late advertising of their sales.
IGA (price matcher)
- Beef (bottom blade roast) - $4.99 per lb -- SNAP! Awesome price for blade roast!!
- Asparagus - $0.99 325g bunch -- Member Pricing. Have to show a Scene card for this deal, but this is unheard pricing in the last 3-4 years.
- Green cabbage - $0.99 per lb -- Nice!
- Butter (Lactantia) - $4.99 454g bar -- Nice to see $5 bars go around various stores.
- Produce Price Rating: Medium
Independent - Beef (inside round roast) - $5.99 per lb -- More reasonably priced beef!
- Steelhead trout fillets (fresh) - $9.99 per lb -- I myself prefer white fish sales at the Adonis, but overall this is a decent price for fresh trout.
- Pork ribs - $2.99 per lb -- Standard sale for pork rib
- Cucumbers - $3.99 3-pack -- Standard sale price for cucumbers.
- Grapes - $2.49 per lb -- Good price for grapes!
- Produce Price Rating: fairly high with few exceptions
Loblaws - Beef (inside round roast) - $5.99 per lb -- More reasonably priced beef!
- Steelhead trout fillets (fresh) - $9.99 per lb -- That trout deal again.
- Grapes - $2.49 per lb -- Good price for grapes!
- Produce Price Rating: fairly high with few exceptions
Provigo - Chicken breast and thighs (boneless skinless) - $4.44 per lb -- Very reasonable price for boneless chicken!
- Whole rabbit - $8.99 per lb -- It's always interesting to find rabbit in a flyer.
- Romaine lettuce - $2.99 3-pack -- $1/head of lettuce is a good rate.
- Mini cucumbers - $2.99 6-pack -- Decent price, especially given how Loblaws-parented stores can be pricier.
- Cauliflower - $5.99 each -- Jeepers! $6 for a head of cauli. That's insane. Food Basics has theirs regularly for $4, and under $2 last week. How do they determine $6 is the going rate?
- Grapes - $2.49 per lb -- Good price for grapes!
- Brick cheese (No Name) - $3.99 400g bar -- Very nice!
- Silk plant-based beverage - $3.49 1.75-1.89L -- Fair sale! Not a huge discount, but a discount none the less.
- Produce Price Rating: Fairly high to eye watering
Maxi (price matcher)
- Ground beef (lean) - $3.77 per lb -- Nice! That's a GREAT price for ground beef.
- Pork chops (bone-in) - $2.44 per lb -- Nice price for pork chops!
- Sockeye salmon (frozen) - $8.99 per lb -- This is ok. Salmon can be a bit funny. I try to find leaner cuts. A lot of salmon is very fatty these days. Wild salmon doesn't have nearly as much fat as farmed.
- Asparagus - $2.22 325g bunch -- More nice garden variety magic wands.
- Avocados - $2.99 5-bag -- Decent sale price for cado!
- Sweet peppers - $3.77 4-pack -- Very nice price for a 4-pack! Regular pricing for peppers has been sad lately. This is a bit of relief!
- Potatoes (Russets) - $2.44 10lb bag -- Nice! I love me those cheap potatoes! 25c/lb is an awesome rate for spuds, given 50c/lb is an ok target.
- Fresh greens (Attitude) - $2.88 142g bin -- Nice price, but I have feelings about the plastic factor...
- Apples (Golden Delicious, Ambrosia) - $0.88 per lb -- Yes! Cheap apples for the win!
- Cantaloupe - $2.00 each -- Very nice price for melon!
- Ricotta (PC) - $5.77 454g tub -- Very good rate on ricotta.
- Bocconcini (PC) - $5.77 200g tub -- Decent rate for bocconcini cheese.
- Butter - $5.77 454g bar -- Well, it ain't $5, and even at $5 I wouldn't go buck-wild on stocking up. But if you need a bar, sub-$6 is a decent target price.
- Produce Price Rating: Generally medium low pricing! This store can post some impressive deals at times.
Metro - Ground beef (extra lean) - $4.44 per lb -- Decent price for ground beef. There's cheaper, but this isn't terrible.
- Beef stewing cubes - $4.99 per lb -- I personally prefer getting a full cut and cubing it myself, but this is a decent rate on beef overall. We have better deals floating around this week, but ya, still decent.
- Steelhead trout fillets (fresh) - $9.99 per lb -- More fresh fish to go around. Less than $10/lb for fresh fillets of salmon or trout is pretty rare.
- Whole salmon (fresh) - $3.99 per lb -- This is a great price for salmon! It's more work, or you have to get creative with it.
- Apples (assorted) - $2.99 3lb bag -- Basically $1/lb, which is a great going-rate for apples, oranges, and pears.
- Blueberries - $2.99 340g pint -- Great price for a full pint of berries.
- Brick cheese (Selection) - $4.44 400g bar -- More standard brick cheese at a good price!
- Produce Price Rating: High. Kinda like Sobeys. You can see a 50% average mark-up compared to a lot of other stores. It's nice produce, but it costs you.
No Frills (price matcher)
- Chicken drumsticks - $1.77 per lb -- Awesome price for drumsticks! Make your own shake and bake! Mix some bread crumbs and some seasonings in a ziplock or tupperware, shake around your drumsticks, and bake at 400F for 35-45min. You can't go wrong.
- Ground pork (lean) - $3.22 per lb -- Very nice price for ground pork. It's rarely less expensive.
- Roma tomatoes - $0.88 per lb -- Wow! Great price for romas. I wonder about their ripeness and quality. Worth checking out!
- Cucumbers - $0.88 per lb -- YESSSS! I want to cry when I see fresh produce at this price.
- Asparagus - $1.44 325g bunch -- More well-priced asparagus!
- Avocado - $3.88 5-6 bag -- Decent for cado!
- Potatoes (Red, Russet, Yellow) - $4.99 per lb -- Not terrific, but still ok. 60c/lb is a reasonable cut-off target, so 50c/lb ain't bad.
- Kale - $1.33 per bunch -- Hard to size up the price without a stated weight, but this is decent still.
- Daikon - $0.99 per lb -- Ouuu I just remembered I have kimchi I forgot to post about, which called for daikon in the mix of napa. Daikon is really just a giant white radish haha. Great stuff for salads!
- Navel oranges - $5.44 8lb case -- WOW! That's REALLY cheap for oranges!
- Mandarins - $6.88 4lb bag -- Decent price. Those navels above really smoke this price, however.
- Pineapple - $2.77 each -- Nice! Sub-$3 pineapple is a definite win!
- Cantaloupe - $2.88 each -- Nice!
- Yogurt (Hans) - $1.99 750g tub -- Nice sale price on yogurt. It's maybe a 50c discount, but if it's a nice reduction if yogurt is a household staple.
- Paneer (Brar's) - $4.99 375g -- Decent sale on paneer, but it's usually not much more expensive. $5 for 300g packs is common. So, you get a little more for your money with this one.
- Butter (Lanctantia) - $4.99 454g bar -- Nice! $5 butter!
- Dry chick peas - $3.99 1.8kg bag -- Remember the economy of dry beans! One lb of dry chick pea is 7 cups cooked - that's 4 cans. And you have 4lbs here. That's 16 cans, which would normally run you $16-24. That's REALLY good savings!
- Produce Price Rating: Generally quite low, selectively amazing for some items.
Produce Depot (usually a little late on the flyer)
https://producedepot.ca/ - Beef steak (top sirloin) - $6.99 per lb -- Nice! Worth checking out!
- Pork picnic roast - $1.99 per lb -- WOW! Deal of the week. 100%. I've seen these same roasts go for about $4/lb lately.
- Spinach - $1.49 per bunch -- Nice! I'm curious what these bunches look like. But overall, it's kind of like any fresh greens similar to this. Kale, broccolini, smaller heads of lettuce or the romaine hearts: aim for about $1 a head. Fancy less robust greens will always trend a little higher, like this $1.49 range.
- Green onions - $0.79 per bunch -- Nice! Not exactly a whole meal or anything, but it's nice to see an essential ingredient and garnish like this under $1. It's not uncommon to see green onions go even in to the $1.50 territory.
- White zucchini - $1.79 per lb -- Hmm, interesting. You know, I can't say I've tried white zucchini. I'm sure it's basically the same, but still. Neat!
- Strawberries - $2.99 454g basket -- Nice! We saw some better sales this week, but this is still decent for strawberries.
- Grapefruit - $0.99 each -- Standard enough for grapefruit, but still nice to see.
- Ricotta (Tre Stelle) - $5.29 475g tub -- Best deal on ricotta in town!
- Deli - Oven roasted turkey (Bittner's) - $2.39 per 100g -- Not the most amazing deli deal in town, but still reasonable. The only other place you can score a better price on deli week-to-week is Adonis.
- Bread (Betty) - $2.69 675g loaf -- Excellent rate on bread. $3 is a decent target to keep in mind. More midrange brands at $3 are often 500g loaves, whereas more "standard bread" will range into the 600-675g. And, these loaves (Wonder, Betty, Great Value, Selection, Compliments, etc) don't usually go below 2.50 for these styles of loaves. So, 2.69 is very reasonable.
- Chicken breast (boneless skinless) - $4.99 per lb -- Not a door crasher, but a fair rate for chicken breast given it can easily float into the $8/lb+ ranges at regular price.
- Milk (Neilson) - $4.88 4L bagged -- Very nice sale on milk. I've seen 3-bag 4L milk for as high as $7.50.
- Bacon (PC) - $4.99 500g pack -- Decent rate for bacon. $1/100g is the target price.
- Yellow onions - $2.99 3lb bag -- $1/lb for onions is a bit rough. I aim for 50c/lb on onions. That said, I can't wait for the vidalias to start coming in... I don't mind paying extra for those.
- Carrots - $2.99 3lb bag -- The better target is about 70c/lb for carrot. But it seems carrots have seen some upward pressures lately. It must be a seasonality thing.
- Cucumber - $3.50 3-pack -- Well, it ain't 88c like at the No Frills, but it's not $1.67. It's actually smack in the middle of those prices at 1.16 each.
- Grape tomatoes - $6.99 907g basket -- This is actually a fantastic deal. Look up grape tomatoes on Flipp and see for yourself. You'll usually only find 300g-ish clamshells at $3-4. So, 3x the quantity for 2x the price. Not bad. And they're versatile! Snack on them, add them to salad, fry them for a breakfast side. Or, bake them with some feta or boursin, along with a little garlic, red onion, and fresh herbs, and blend that into a nice creamy pasta sauce.
- Sweet peppers - $4.00 4-pack -- I wanna cry. Are sweet pepper prices seeing some relief? Even if the peppers are on the smaller side, this is still a very reasonable price.
- Pineapple - $2.99 each -- Good price for pineapple. You can get it for less occasionally, but those units can be smaller. So, if you're feeling pineapple, and they look nice and big, don't pass it up.
- Cantaloupe - $2.99 each -- We saw a little cheaper here and there. $3 ain't bad, though. We've seen cantaloupe reach into the $5-6 ranges.
- Grapes - $1.88 per lb -- Fantastic price for grapes!
- Ricotta, Bocconcini, Feta crumble - $6.00 (varies) -- We saw some similar sales this week. Fair sales for nice cheeses!
- Deli - Ham (Ziggy's) - $2.50 per 100g -- Not bad. Not amazing, but not bad. $2/100g is the target.
- Basmati (No 817 Elephant) - $10.99 4kg bag -- Decent price for basmati, though it is possible to find it for about $8 (like at Basics)
- Bread (Country Harvest) - $2.99 per loaf -- Sale also includes 6-packs of bagels.
- White sugar (Redpath) - $1.99 2kg bag -- Nice price for standard white sugar.
- Produce Price Rating: Generally medium-low pricing, selectively amazing for some items.
Sobeys - Chicken breast (boneless skinless) - $4.77 per lb -- Very reasonable price!
- Pork rib and tenderloin - $3.99 per lb -- Not the best price. Rib is commonly $3/lb, as is tenderloin. But, it's not unheard of for Sobey's.
- Steelhead trout fillets (fresh) - $9.99 per lb -- More trout at that $10/lb mark!
- Beef inside round and marinating steaks - $5.99 per lb -- It's funny. I don't know why this wasn't highlighted on the first page of their flyer. This is kind of a better deal than the pork...
- Earth's Own almost and oat bev - $2.88 1.75-1.89L -- Nice! That's a great price! Usually $1-2 more.
- Produce Price Rating: Some sales can be quite good. But, it's generally a high price store, especially for produce. Some items are 50% more than more value-oriented stores.
Super C - Chicken breast (boneless skinless) - $4.47 per lb -- This is a great target price for chicken breast. If you're picky about your cuts of meat, stock up at this price.
- Pork chops (boneless) - $2.77 per lb -- Nice! That's a decent price for pork chops! Boneless means they're easy to pound out to make pork schnitzel, little pork rolls, or, if you wanna get real fancy, finely chop it to a semi-ground for dumplings.
- Smoked ham (Selection) - $7.77 675g hunk -- GT sometimes has similar hams for less. But this is still ok. When it comes to these hams, I think $1/100g is very reasonable. More than that, and it can be a toss-up.
- Atlantic salmon (fresh) - $9.77 per lb -- Not an amazing sale per se, but it's to see how widely accessible fresh fish is right now. I wonder if there's a winter pricing effect because it's cheaper to refrigerate the fish... I'll have to keep that question in mind as the summer rolls in.
- Cucumber - $0.97 each -- Nice!
- Broccili - $0.97 per crown -- Always mind the size of the crown, but even if they were on the smaller side, it should still be worthwhile.
- Carrots - $1.77 3lb bag -- Ahh, there we go! 60c/lb carrots! Excellent deal!
- Onions - $1.77 3lb bag -- Again, 60c/lb, and in 3lb bags. This is nice for those who don't to enjoy 50c/lb rates but at the cost getting 10lb bags.
- Asparagus - $1.97 325g bunch -- More decently priced asparagus!
- Strawberries - $2.27 454g basket -- Very nice! Cheap strawberries for the win!
- Cantaloupe - $1.97 each -- Lots of cheap cantaloupe this week!
- Clementines - $2.87 2lb bag -- Nice! Clementines usually cost around $2/lb, so this is a nice little deal.
- Pineapple - $2.97 each -- Lots of fair-priced pineapple this week.
- Brick cheese (Ptit Quebec) - $4.97 400g bar -- We've seen cheaper for this cheese and brick overall. Some weeks, Maxi and Super C had these up for $4. I mean, hey, $5 is fine, but maybe don't go particularly wild and stock up too much.
- Flour (Robinhood, Five Roses) - $4.77 2.5kg bag -- I usually don't list these smaller bags. But I want to throw out a comparison. FoodLand advertises 5kg bags for $14. Freshco has the 10kg bag on for $12. And then we have Super C with the $4.77 2.5kg bag... The swings in flour pricing can be so bizarre.
- White sugar (Redpath) - $2.79 2kg bag -- Not really a sale, in my holy opinion. $2 is a sale.
- Brown sugar (Redpath) - $5.00 2x 1kg bag -- This is a decent enough price. These bags can also go as low as $2 each. But 2.50 ain't terrible, either.
- Vegan sausage (Naturalia) - $5.99 352g 3-pack -- I don't think I've tried these before. Anyone have any opinions about these sausages?
- Produce Price Rating: Generally low, but can creep into medium for some items. But, there's always something decent available!
T&T Supermarket https://www.tntsupermarket.com * Produce Price Rating: Usually very competitive, catering to Asian cuisine. Warning: their newest sales start on Fridays - so this is a late advertising of their sales.
Walmart - Chicken drumsticks or thighs - $1.87 per lb -- Awesome deal for chicken. Regular pricing for these cuts can range up into $2.50 to $3/lb.
- Eggs - $2.64 12-pack -- Snap! That's a great price for eggs! Limit of 4!
- Avocados - $3.97 5-pack -- It seems cado prices have floated upwards. We used to see more $2-3 deals for 5-packs. I wonder if it's a seasonal thing...
- Corned beef (Hereford) - $2.97 340g can -- Nice! $1/100g for very shelf-stable meat. It's not a luxury flavour by any means, but it is priced well. I like frying it off with some potatoes for some classic hash. Just do it in moderation lol
- Flour (Robinhood) - $9.97 10kg bag -- Excellent price for flour!!! My goodness that's I think the cheapest I've seen since I started these reviews. But funny enough, in the same flyer, they advertise the 5k bags for $12.47. LOL Why?!
- Butter (Gay Lea) - $4.87 454g bar -- It's nice to see widely available $5 butter.
- Lawn and leaf bags (Great Value) - $13.00 2x 10-packs -- Or, $8 each. Not sure of the durability of these bags. Pro Tip: I line my green waste bin with these larger lawn bags, along with a hung of folded cardboard at the bottom. This REALLY helps keep down the nasty messes. And, this is compared to Amazon's Home Depot bags, the best value for money being the 25-pack for $37. This Walmart deal is $13 for 20.
- Produce Price Rating: A little all over the place. Some really good prices between a lot of average pricing.
Costco (for referencing when looking through flyers - going to try to comment on these items more often)
- Paper Towel (Kirkland) - $27.99 12-roll pack -- 2-ply; 160 sheets

2022.01.04 05:37 No_Professional_7709 Move to Dearborn or Hamtramck ?
Currently an older new med student at Wayne looking to potentially buy a house and raise a family. So looking at suitable places nearby Detroit, as I'll be here for a very long time for work/training in the Detroit area. I'm on the edge on whether to move to Dearborn or Hamtramck, leaning less on Ham. due to deteriorating houses (risk of depreciation) and noise. I don't have any family members in Hamtramck, however, I am Bengali, so I feel the vibe there. Wondering if someone in the areas can give me more insight on where to move. Looking at future growth, appreciation, diversity, and education in the areas.
Feel free to suggest any other rising areas that I could look into close to commuting distance to Detroit. Other possible areas people have suggested are Warren, Ferndale, Royal Oak, but I don't have any knowledge on these areas. Thanks!

2018.07.28 21:50 homrqt Taylor Pork Roll in Chicago
Anyone know of a grocery store or deli that sells Taylor ham pork roll? I went to Walmart, Jewel and Mariano's and it's not at several of their locations by me. Chicago is big enough, I know it has to be somewhere in this city. Any Jersey transplants have a spot?
Edit: They sell it.
NYC Bagel Deli
515 N Dearborn St (at W Grand Ave)Chicago, IL 60654United States
Edit 2: I bought their pork roll egg and cheese, it came on a bagel which I think was a bit much. It's better on thinner bread to me. Also they cut the pork roll a little too thin but it was still really good. Overall I'm happy and will be going back for sure. I also bought a half pound of Taylor ham.

2017.01.16 16:48 SaudiAurora The Mean Streets of Aurora - 1/15/2017
This week on the Aurora Police Crime Blotter:
Rambo: On Dec. 6, police were called to an apartment complex in the 1400 block of North Dallas Street because someone used a black marker to scrawl the word “Rambo” on the fire exit sign, the hallway wall, an apartment door and the community room door. The unknown suspects also wrote “I’ll be back” on the trash room door.
House broke: Police were called to the 17100 block of East Adriatic Place on Dec. 21 because a man who just moved into one of the apartments there the day before had punched holes in the walls and smashed out the sliding glass door. His lease was terminated.
Ten-minute window:" A man parked his car in the 6800 block of South Liverpool Street to run an errand Dec. 22. Ten minutes later, he came out and saw that someone broke the driver’s side window and stole his backpack out of the front seat, which contained a pistol and two magazines.
Screen tampering: A couple returned to their home in the 1200 block of Akron Street after dinner Dec. 3 and noticed that someone had removed the screens from their rear basement windows and tried, unsuccessfully, to break in with rocks. There are no suspects.
Stolen items handed over: Store security at King Soopers, 3190 S. Parker Road, caught a man hiding several toiletry products in his coat and pants Dec. 19. The suspect was approached by an employee in the store, so he handed over the merchandise and then took off.
Hallway fight: On Dec. 24, police responded to the 1000 block of South Dearborn Street because a man and woman were arguing outside their apartment. No crimes were committed.
Attempted meat heist: On Dec. 22, a loss prevention employee at King Soopers, 12811 E. Hampden Ave., stopped a shoplifter outside of the store. The suspect had carted out more than $300 worth of hams and rib eye steaks without paying. He handed the food over and took off running.
Drive-by lobbing: A man driving in the area of South Chambers Road and South Evanston Way on Dec. 10 said people inside a car next to him threw a rock at his windshield and broke it. The victim had no suspect information.
Window vandals: Police were called Dec. 21 to Styles Above the Rest, 10 S. Havana St., because someone broke out the front window of the shop with a rock overnight. Other store windows in the area appeared to be damaged as well. There are no suspects.
Flat tire to boot: A man’s car stalled out in the 1300 block of North Joliet Street Dec. 24. He said someone driving behind him became angry, got out of their car and slashed one of his tires before driving off. There are no suspects.
Missing money: On Dec. 21, a man being treated at University Hospital met police down in the Anschutz Medical Pavilion, 12605 E. 16th Ave., because thought the hospital staff misplaced money that he said he had when he checked in. There was no record of the money being held by staff.
No witnesses: A woman who lives in the 1050 block of South Salem Street called police Dec. 20 because someone broke a window on her home. No one in the neighborhood saw anything, and there are no suspects.
Mail bank break in: On Dec. 7, someone who lives in the 17100 block of East Adriatic Place saw a group of men with crowbars ripping out mailboxes. They took off when she called police. Several mailboxes had been opened, or partially opened, and cleaned out.
Stolen spare key: A couple reported that someone broke into their detached garage in the 16000 block of East Easter Circle on Dec. 18 and stole assorted tools worth hundreds of dollars. The victims recently ordered another key for that storage unit, but it was taken from their leasing manager’s office before they received it.
Presents swiped from the porch: On Dec. 8, a man who lives in the 6800 block of South Robertsdale Way went out to his porch to retrieve a package after getting an email that it had been dropped off. There was no package outside when he opened the door, and a suspicious car was peeling away from his house.
Sucker punch and run: On Nov. 29, a woman was standing at the counter of the Sunnonco Gas Station, 1190 S. Chambers Road, when another woman came into the store and started yelling at her. The second woman punched the first in the head, causing her to fall into a glass shelf and break it. They both left immediately.
Unknown confrontation: A woman who lives with her ex-boyfriend in the 14600 block of East 26th Avenue was sitting in her truck Nov. 29 when her ex came out of the house and broke her driver’s side window. She didn’t say why he did it, and he was gone before police arrived.
Home alarm triggered: On Dec. 2, police responded to a home alarm in the 14400 block of East Carolina Drive and found a shattered sliding glass door at the back of the residence. The homeowner’s security cameras only caught the door shattering from a distance.
Free sandwiches: An employee at Jimmy John’s, 14302 E. Cedar Avenue reported Nov. 30 that the restaurant collected four counterfeit $20 bills after he tried to deposit the money to their bank.
Refusing to talk: A man who was beaten in the area of 17th Avenue and North Akron Street Dec. 1 refused to give officers any information about his attack. The victim said one person attacked him in a park, and then changed his story to three people.
Sleeping near strangers: On Nov. 30, a man temporarily staying in the 14200 block of East Colfax Ave. invited a bunch of homeless men to rest at that address. He fell asleep, and when he woke up his wallet was missing. Everyone in the room denied taking it.
Kids shatter man’s windshield: A man driving at the intersection of East Iliff Avenue and South Buckley Road on Nov. 29 had to stop because several teenagers were standing in the intersection, not moving. When he honked at them, they flipped him off and went to a nearby parking lot. The victim followed to confront the kids, and one of them picked up a rock and shattered the windshield on his truck before fleeing the area.
Teenage shoplifter: Store security at the Claires at 6155 S. Main St., watched a nervous girl walk around the store, looking over her shoulder and fidgeting Nov. 26. The suspect grabbed a necklace, slid it into her purse and then walked out of the store. She was apprehended and her grandma was called to pick her up.
Stealing presents: A man was caught Nov. 28 trying to wheel out a shopping cart loaded with $400 worth of children’s toys and game accessories from Target, 1400 S. Havana St. He was detained by store security and later arrested.
Store widow smashed: Police responded to an alarm call Nov. 26 at Yakety Yak Wireless Superstore, 14068 E. Mississippi Ave. and met the store owner onsite. There was damage to the bottom part of the front window, but it wasn’t broken out. There are no suspects.

Shoe heist: After returning to her home in the 200 block of Jasper Street after work Nov. 10, a woman realized that someone had broken into her house. Two TVs and a game console were missing, but the victim was most upset about the 36 boxes of retro Air Jordan shoes that were taken from her closet. There are no suspects.
Blind spot: On Nov. 13, a man locked his bicycle up outside King Soopers, 1155 S. Havana Street, so he could grab a few things inside. When he came back out five minutes later, the bike was gone and the lock was cut and left on the ground. There is no surveillance of that area of the store.
Broken phone, broken hearts: A couple who have two children together are supposed to remain apart until their domestic violence case goes to court. On Nov. 14, the man went to the woman’s house in the 2200 block of South Laredo Street to get some of his things and broke his girlfriend’s phone while trying to hug her.
Stifled car alarm: A man who lives in the 19800 block of East Linvale Drive heard his car alarm for a brief moment around 2 a.m. Nov. 9, but went back to sleep after the alarm was quiet. In the morning, his passenger window was broken out and his stereo was missing.
Garage intruder.: On Nov. 14, someone stole a Razor scooter from a woman’s garage in the 17700 block of East Hamilton Place, and she didn’t report it. A couple of days later, someone returned and tried to steal a pair of dirt bikes that were locked up inside. There are no suspects.
Broken widow: On Nov. 16, a man saw his security light go on in his backyard in the 1700 block of Bahama Street but didn’t think anything of it. Later, he noticed that someone smashed a window on the back of the house.
Unwanted housewarming party: Police responded to a home being built in the 4800 block of South Biloxi Way on Nov. 13 because the future home owner went to check on the progress of the house and noticed that someone had thrown a party there. Police found an empty bottle of liquor, red cups that had been melted and multiple holes punched in the sheet rock. There was food and trash scattered all over the kitchen counters, upstairs and in the master bedroom, and a section of carpet had been burned. The unknown suspects entered through unlocked windows and caused $3,000 in damages.
Crash and dash: Someone drove their car into a woman’s garage door in the 23500 block of East Alamo Place on Nov. 13 and then left before the victim came home. The door was minorly damaged, but it no longer opened. There were no witnesses or suspects.
Stolen stereo: On Nov. 11 a man called police to his home in the 1200 block of North Dallas Street because he someone broke into his truck and stole his new $400 touch screen stereo system overnight. There was no evidence of a break in, and too much contamination to try to get fingerprints.
Vandalized construction site: An employee of Richmond Homes who was working on a development in the 7700 block of South Quantock Way reported Nov. 7 that a home there had been damaged. It appeared that someone tried to break in through a basement window, but they didn’t get inside.

2015.05.22 03:10 SomeCruzDude [Meta] Alternate Crest Thread: Want non-MLS flair? Get it here!
All requests for existing flair have been answered as of 11/8/15
Posting a new thread since the old one is about 6 months old. Our flaiCSS guru TheMonsieur is MIA and that has been complicating things on the flair front as far as creating and removing flairs. It's also a reason why some of your requests from the last thread may have taken longer than expected to be fulfilled.
So stay tuned, feel free to request flairs we don't have already or point out ones we should have!
-Cruz
Here's a link to the previous thread for the curious
Beside the various MLS team flair that you can set yourself (click the "Edit" button in the sidebar), we offer a number of lower division, international, and historical teams as flair. Please post your request here (preferably copying and pasting the flair class as listed below) and be patient - we set these by hand and it sometimes takes up to a week.
And no, clicking on the flair will not give it to you.
If your team's not in the list, we're happy to hear your request and we'll try to add it in. Keep in mind, however, that this is only for current or former North American teams and/or leagues.
As another note: We only create custom flair if it's going to be used. There are literally thousands of possibilities for teams, and it's sort of a waste of our time to create crests that sit there without a purpose.

If your team's not in the list, we're happy to hear your request and we'll try to add it in. Keep in mind, however, that this is only for current or former North American teams.

As another note: We only create custom flair if it's going to be used. There are literally thousands of possibilities for teams, and it's sort of a waste of our time to create crests that sit there without a purpose.

2013.05.16 03:00 TheMonsieur Alternate Crest Thread: Want non-MLS flair? Get it here!
Besides the various MLS team flair that you can set yourself (click the "Edit" button in the sidebar), we offer a number of lower division, international, and historical teams as flair.

And no, clicking on the flair will not give it to you.
