2024.06.09 13:45 Sadweek0 Buckshot roulette board game!

Buckshot roulette board game!
Hello high rollers! Here's my take on the fan made Buckshot roulette board game.
For the game you will need: - 8 live cards - 8 blank cards - 7 load cards - 2 decks of items (12 duplicate cards in each deck) - 12 heart tokens (6 for each player) - 16 item tokens (8 for each player) - The set of DnD dice (for percentage items) (Pt 1)
To make cards I would recommend you to draw them on paper and put into protectors. That way they will be more solid.
You can draw all cards according to the sample: (Pt 2)
Note that item cards are double sided. The face is the item itself while the back is the explanation what that item does: (Pt 3-4)
  • Beer: Discard the top card of the deck
  • Hand saw: Your next shot deals 2 damage instead of 1
  • Handcuffs: Your opponent skips his next turn (you can't use this more than 1 time per turn)
  • Cigarettes: Heal 1❤️ (you can't use this if your opponents ❤️ ≤ your ❤️)
  • Magnifying glass: Take a look at the top card of the deck
  • Inverter: Switch the next round (live to blank/blank to live)
  • Adrenalin: Steal an item from your opponent (use it immediately)
  • Burner phone: Number all cards in the deck than roll the respective dice. Take a look at the card that has a number of the dice result. If the dice result is > the amount of cards in the deck roll again.
  • Expired medicine: Roll: 1-3: heal 2❤️/4-6: take 1 damage (you can't use this if your opponents ❤️ ≤ your ❤️)
(Btw I added some of the fan cards)
  • Matchbox: put the live card at the bottom of the deck (you can't use this if the deck contains 8 cards in it)
  • Bear trap: Deal 1 damage to your opponent for every item he will use in his next turn (you can't use this more than 1 time per turn)
  • Flashlight: look at the cards in the deck than shuffle it.
After you made all cards it's for the game itself.
  1. Lay out all components as shown in the picture: (Pt 5)
(You can use any amount of items in the game you want)
  1. Before every load each player rolls d10 3 times. Players put their item tokens on the items depends on the rolls result. (If you roll 0 just roll again) For example: Player 1 rolled 2, 5, 7 and put item tokens on Hand saw, Magnifying glass and adrenalin. (Pt 6)
If you out of the item tokens you don't get items.
  1. Shuffle the load deck than draw 1 card from it. The shotgun will have the amount of rounds shown at the top of the load card. (Pt 7)
  2. Shuffle the shotgun deck.
  3. Choose who will go first by rolling the dice or playing rock, paper, scissors.
  4. Start the first turn.
At the each turn you can use unlimited amount of items. At the end of the turn you are forced to shoot either yourself or the opponent.
To shoot you need to announce who you will shoot. After that open the top card of the shotgun deck and put it into the discard pile face up. (Pt 8)
(If a player didn't announce the person he shoots he automatically shoots himself)
If you shoot yourself with a blank your turn continues, else your turn ends. (If you used handcuffs on your opponent your turn will continue no matter what)
IMPORTANT RULE! At the first turn of every load the player can use only 1 item. After that players can use unlimited amount of items.
You take turns shooting.
After the shotgun deck runs out of cards repeat steps 2-4. Instead of step 5 the order of the players will continue. For example: The last round in the chamber was blank and the player 1 shot himself. This means that in the next load he will go first.
The game ends after a player runs out of health. That player loses and the other wins.
That's all folks :)
Have a good game!

2024.06.09 13:43 zenfrog80 How to hire a private home health aid.

Back in January, my dad had a bad time in the hospital.
Since then, we’ve hired live-in home health aid.
Now, things have calmed down a bit.
The man the agency sent lives in the house, and is basically a guy from an African country who takes care of my dad’s needs.
I was going over the finances with my mom, and hiring a home health aid full time live in help will cost $134,400 a year. ($360/day)
Ok…
Geez.
I don’t know what the agency pays this live-in guy.
This will bankrupt my parents in a few years.
How would I go about hiring someone not through an agency that my dad’s disability insurance will help pay? (Disability insurance is covering $90 a day)

2024.06.09 13:32 MellowWonder2410 First denial

Just got my first denial in the mail yesterday, and based on my multiple examinations of the blue book, I more than qualify. They think I can still do low stress sitting work though according to the decision letter.
I will be filing a request for reconsideration and would love any advice from the community on what to include with it.
I am going to write a letter detailing what a day in the life looks like, and why I don’t have time aside from caring for my health. I am going to request a CE if that’s possible for an appeal, and I’m going to have my husband detail all my symptoms in a letter to them as well. Is there anything I’m missing that helped you all? Please let me know in the comments.

2024.06.09 13:07 Ill-mat-ic Initial claim question, need advice/help

I filed my first claim, went thru the whole c&p process, waited patiently in evidence gathering for months, went to pfn, got a decision letter, was granted a percentage, one claim deferred, and also noted on the letter that *incompetency was proposed , and back pay will be withheld. I’m guessing one of the mental health examiners marked the wrong box or misconstrued something during my MH exam c&p, I have no idea cause I did this myself with this communities help. I had no Vso or lawyer so I cannot see the actual dbq🤦🏻‍♂️ to see what was written in that regards. my claim status recently went back to evidence gathering I’m guessing due to the deferred claim. I immediately had my va clinical psychologist that I see weekly for sessions to write a letter in support of my financial competence along with a 4138 from myself detailing my financial obligations I pay on time monthly and submitted it. With all that backstory said, my question is. Will that new evidence I submitted be reviewed since technically the claim isn’t closed yet because of that deferred claim clarification? And if so do they just send a new decision letter stating any corrections or discrepancies from the first decision letter? I know all of this will just take time but I have no problem hurrying up and waiting. Just making sure there wasn’t some other avenue of correcting this issue and receiving the back pay that’s due without being appointed a fiduciary. Also does my newly uploaded evidence go back to the same rater or person that drafted the initial decision letter? And advice would be helpful or any vba to chime in with clarification would be most helpful on my anxiety. Thanks.

2024.06.09 13:06 LooseCoconut6671 European Health Card as an EU citizen and how to use it in Germany

Hi, I will be in Germany for 2 months. I have been reading on the EU's specific page about this Heath Card in Germany but I don't know at all how it works in Germany.
Should I associate the Card with an specific insurance before arriving to Germany?
How can I know which doctors are associated with the Public Heath German Sustem who will assist me with the European health card? I have a friend studying in Germany and he wasn't attended in a regular doctor office with the European Health Card and had to go to the hospital where they told him this Card is only valid for emergencies, while its supposed to cover all health necessities as if I was a German citizen.
I have two chronic illnesses and as I will stay for that long I may need some prescriptions for my meds, but the EU's specific page for health system for Germany the card says I will have to pay 10€ per prescription but I don't know if it's for each med prescription or if it's for example a prescription for going to a physiotherapist. The EU's page doesn't specify very well about this problem.
If any EU citizen outside from Germany who has needed to use the European health card could help me to understand how the card works in Germany I would really appreciate it. My public health system is way different from German one and I have a huge mess right now.
Thanks in advance to anyone who could help me :)
Edit: I will be there volunteering

2024.06.09 13:06 No_Lychee_679 [TX] Identity Mixup

I have a pretty crazy and super frustrating situation. There's another person who shares my exact full name, birthday, birth year , and even mother's name. Here are the details:
These are some (not all) of the problems I’ve been having:
  1. Insurance Nightmare: Every time I apply for insurance, my name gets mixed up with his. He has a middle name (I don't), but our records still get confused. He has two accidents on his record, so I get sky-high insurance quotes even though my record is clean. I know this because when I asked the insurance is why my quote so so high they tell me it is because I had to at fault accidents. One agent was nice enough to refer me to get my Lexis Nexis record, which leads me through issue number two.
  2. LexisNexis Mess: I got my records from LexisNexis so that I could see what the insurance companies were seeing in regards to my accidents, and they’ve mixed his file with mine. When I say that I mean that they literally sent me a document with his Social Security number all his addresses, all his family’s addresses and a lot more mixed in with a file with all my addresses, my families addresses and my Social Security number as well. Despite disputing this, they insisted the records are accurate, even though the accidents are linked to his driver's license number, not mine. I’ve disputed this twice now with LexisNexis, and both times they have denied my dispute I’m extremely lost
  3. DPS Issues: Almost didn’t get my driver's license because of this mix-up there were some sort of issue that he had, and they had to call in the head of the DPS to verify my social because of the issue
  4. Healthcare Confusion: We use the same hospital system and big pharmacy brand, causing mix-ups in medical records and billing.
  5. College Application Problems: When I applied for colleges, I got his denial letters… one college gave me access to his account instead of mine, which literally gave me access to his Social Security number… I reported this colleges admitted the mistake but never followed up after promising investigations.
This has been going on for years, and it's driving me crazy. I've been overpaying for insurance and dealing with all sorts of unnecessary stress.
Questions:
Also feel free to comment or ask any questions I’m really lost with this situation.
TL;DR: I have the same name, birthday, and mother's name as another person born 200 miles away from eachother. Our records are constantly mixed up, causing major issues with the DMV, healthcare, insurance (sky-high quotes due to his accidents), and college applications. LexisNexis refuses to correct the mix-up despite clear evidence. Need legal advice and recommendations

2024.06.09 13:05 SophiaShay1 Abyss and the middle.

I've been living and dealing with my diagnoses and its devastation for over 6 months. I have fibromyalgia, ME/CFS, and dysautonomia. It is severe. I am bedridden.
I've done so many things. I've been in contact with my doctor, searched out medications and T treatment options, changed my diet, tried a ton of medications, done so much research online and here, tried to manage my expectations and reach out for support. I find joy in the small things. My medications are now helping. And sometimes I'm sleeping 12+ hours a day only to wake up and not know if it's night or day.
Have you been or are you stuck in this abyss in the middle? I'm on several subs here and mostly it's depressing. Inept doctors, healthcare system failures, little support, and people who are so sick of it all. I know way more about medical illnesses and conditions that I ever wished I'd known. I hear more suffering and frustration that I can't turn away from. I myself have the same problems.
I've learned so much and at this point and I'm questioning how much I really know. It's only marginally improved my symptoms. My mental health is struggling because of this hardcore body stress, anxiety and fatigue I suffer from everyday.
I feel stuck in between chasing down doctors for more diagnoses and choosing symptom management and a positive mindset. I wonder what any additional diagnoses would offer me that isn't being managed now. Whether I should seek a second opinion or fight with my insurance company. If I choose to switch to an internal medicine or functional medicine doctor, they focus on symptom management. I wonder if that's a better approach for me. Choosing positivity and getting off this hamster wheel.
How are you handling or have you handled being in this abyss? What types of doctors helped you? What medications, supplements, diet and lifestyle changes have helped you? What things no matter how small have helped you to have a better quality of life?

2024.06.09 12:52 Remote-Cartoonist460 Long-Term Care: Self-Fund via HSA or Buy Insurance?

Long-Term Care: Self-Fund via HSA or Buy Insurance?
Long-term care (LTC) is a critical aspect of financial planning, especially as you approach retirement. The decision to self-fund LTC via a Health Savings Account (HSA) or to purchase LTC insurance can significantly impact your financial security and peace of mind. Both strategies have their merits and potential drawbacks. This article will explore these options, considering the insights and experiences shared by individuals who have faced similar dilemmas.
financial planning - owntic
Long-Term Care (LTC) Needs
Long-term care involves a range of services designed to meet personal and health care needs over an extended period. Most long-term care is not medical care, but rather assistance with the basic personal tasks of everyday life, such as bathing, dressing, and eating. As people live longer, the likelihood of requiring such care increases, making it an essential consideration in retirement planning.
Option 1: Self-Funding via HSA
A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a tax-advantaged account designed to help individuals save for medical expenses. For those with high-deductible health plans (HDHPs), HSAs offer triple tax benefits: contributions are tax-deductible, earnings grow tax-free, and withdrawals for qualified medical expenses are tax-free.
Advantages of Using an HSA:
Tax Benefits: Contributions reduce taxable income, and growth is tax-free if used for medical expenses.
Control and Flexibility: You have full control over the funds and how they are invested.
Investment Growth: With a sound investment strategy, HSA funds can grow substantially over time.
Challenges of Using an HSA:
Contribution Limits: There are annual contribution limits, which might restrict the amount you can save (currently $3,850 for individuals and $7,750 for families in 2024, with an additional $1,000 catch-up contribution for those 55 and older).
Uncertainty of Costs: Predicting future LTC costs can be challenging, and your savings might fall short if costs rise significantly or if care is needed for an extended period.
Option 2: Buying LTC Insurance
Long-term care insurance is designed to cover services such as nursing home care, home health care, and personal or adult daycare for individuals with chronic illnesses or disabilities.
Advantages of LTC Insurance:
Cost Coverage: Provides financial support specifically for long-term care, potentially reducing the burden on personal savings.
Asset Protection: Helps protect other assets from being depleted by LTC costs.
Peace of Mind: Knowing that care costs are covered can provide peace of mind for you and your family.
Challenges of LTC Insurance:
Cost: Premiums can be expensive and may increase over time. Additionally, policies might become more costly as you age.
Complexity: Policies can be complex, with various terms and conditions. Inflation protection and other riders can add to the cost.
Market Stability: The LTC insurance market has seen volatility, with some insurers exiting the market or significantly increasing premiums.
Insights from the Community
The experiences and opinions of others facing similar decisions can provide valuable insights:
Self-Insurance: Many individuals with substantial net worths lean towards self-insuring. Given the high costs and uncertainties associated with LTC insurance, some prefer to rely on their savings and investments. As one user noted, the ability to self-insure is more feasible if your net worth is high enough to absorb potential LTC costs without significantly impacting your financial security.
Insurance Pitfalls: Several community members highlighted the potential downsides of LTC insurance, including increasing premiums, insufficient coverage, and the failure of policies to keep up with inflation. For instance, one user shared a story of their grandmother who paid more into the policy than she received in benefits due to inadequate inflation adjustments.
Hybrid Policies: Some recommend hybrid policies that combine life insurance with LTC benefits. These policies can provide more flexibility and value, ensuring that premiums paid are not wasted if LTC benefits are not used. This can be an attractive option for those looking to hedge against the risk of needing long-term care without solely relying on a traditional LTC policy.
Deciding between self-funding LTC via an HSA or purchasing LTC insurance is a personal choice that depends on various factors, including your financial situation, risk tolerance, and health outlook. For those with a high net worth and a robust HSA, self-funding might offer more control and potential savings. However, LTC insurance can provide valuable protection and peace of mind, especially if structured correctly with appropriate riders. Ultimately, the best approach may involve a combination of strategies, such as maximizing HSA contributions while exploring hybrid insurance products. Consulting with a financial advisor can also provide personalized guidance tailored to your specific circumstances and goals.

2024.06.09 12:44 LooseCoconut6671 Questions about volunteering in Münster

Hi, as I said in the title, I will probably be a volunteer for refugees in Münster for about 2 months.
I'm not sure at all where I will stay as it depends on the organization I will work with and they haven't confirmed at all if will be chosen for the role.
My questions are:
1) How safe is Münster? Which places should I avoid? (I'm from a city from the south of Madrid, Spain, where the crime rate is quite high but I have lived there my whole life and I know where to go and where not to go no matter if it's on the daylight or at night).
2) I was looking for a GYM which could allow me be member for just one month. I have been searching and most have a good price but they have an initial fee that makes the price rise till 100€. This is out of my budget as I'm still an student and I don't have too much money to spend.
3) I know I will have a bicycle that the organization I volunteer with will provide. How much time would it take me to go from one place to the opposite of the city by bike?
4) Will be a problem not speaking German in Münster? My English level is quite high but idk if people there also tend to speak or want to speak English. I know from friends who work in some other places from Germany that English is normally not sponken.
5) This question may be for Germany in general. Does any supermarket as Lidl sell products high in proteins? I'm diabetic and I have to have a diet high on proteins not to lose weight as is a tendency I have and that it could carry me some health problems.
6) I'm concerned about far righ having more influence in Germany recently and as I will be working with refugees I have a little fear about the possibility of being the target from this groups of people with this ideology or who wouldn't want me there.
7) You may not have the answer for this but I have the European Health Card as a citizen from the EU. Will I be admitted at general doctor offices? Do I have to associate my European Health Card to an insurance? Are there any specific doctors that work for public health system who would accept the European Health Card to get an appointment for free (as it should be having this card), in case this is affirmative, how can I know which doctors work with the public health system and that will allow me to set an appointment with just my European health card? I have also read in the EU page for European Health card that each prescription cost 10€ but idk if it refers to prescriptions related with physiotherapists or also with meds prescriptions. German health system is really different from Spanish one and I don't understand at all what the European Health Card will cover or not and I'm worried as I have two chronic illness which I could need meds prescriptions as I'm staying for that long time.
Thanks in advance for your help

2024.06.09 12:34 Guesha Depression / Anxiety and work?

Hello everyone, me and my girlfriend are kind off in a difficult situation.
My girlfriend has severe depression / anxiety and every time she tried to work she would get severe panic attacks / anxiety attacks to the point where I even called a ambulance one time because she was sure she was getting a heart attack.
She got fired from all the jobs she ever had because she called in sick too much in her training period due to these attacks, at some jobs she only worked for 1 hour and started to have anxiety / panic attacks and had to go home. She also tried WFH jobs but it's the same thing. Ever since then she is visiting clinics for mental health / autism.
She used to get unemployment money but because it has been going on for so long they stopped that, we also got denied Burgergeld and Wohnungsgeld because according to them I earn too much. Because the Burgergeld got denied she is also not insured anymore and now she has to pay around 200 euros every month for her health insurance.
The doctors at her clinic are telling her that she is not responding to any treatment, she has been in and out of the clinic for over 1 year now. She is visiting psychiatrists, taking medication, doing tests, trying new treatments but nothing is helping. Because no treatment is helping and we are going to have severe money issues and her guilt that she is feeling really useless and a burden to me, her depression and attacks are just getting worse and worse.
I keep telling her that everything is going to be okay and I'm trying to support her in any way I can but to be honest I'm also starting to feel helpless / stressful in this situation and also notice that I'm unable to focus at work due to this and I'm scared that my boss will notice. I have no idea how I will finance all of this with my salary which really isn't a lot ( 1800 netto ).
Can my girlfriend do anything in this case? She is unable to work and is doing everything she can to get better but nothing is working and I have no idea how to continue further because in a few months I will be unable to pay our rent once my savings run out.
Thank you to anyone if they have any advice!

2024.06.09 12:21 Fresh-Midnight-9540 POTENTIAL Crypto Hair Loss Scam: Hair Dao & Illegal Human Clinical Trials with Chemotherapy drugs

POTENTIAL Crypto Hair Loss Scam: Hair Dao & Illegal Human Clinical Trials with Chemotherapy drugs
I want you to take a seat back and give this post some time. Or, just look at the points in the TL;DR section of this write up.
Hair Dao, a crypto project claiming to revolutionize hair loss research, operates as a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) using blockchain technology and smart contracts. Despite its bold claims, Hair Dao has raised significant concerns. Led by a researcher named "Jumpman," the organization has conducted illegal human trials using unapproved chemotherapy drugs obtained through "group buying" from China, without safety or ethical oversight.
Alleged collaborations with Dr. Claire Higgins from Imperial College London appear dubious, as she denies knowing "Jumpman." Operating in the largely unregulated crypto space, Hair Dao faces substantial compliance risks with the SEC and FDA. The project’s co-founders are connected to crypto venture funds with suspiciously high returns.
Efforts to create credibility through legitimate researchers are overshadowed by their community's harassment tactics against YouTubers. Traditional funding methods for hair loss research offer more transparency and safety than relying on cryptocurrency. Given these red flags, I'd be skeptical and avoid the hype surrounding Hair Dao.
https://i.redd.it/7prd6rduti5d1.gif

Get some Popcorn...

Every so often, the hair loss community gets swept up by a new trend or treatment that, despite having only minimal evidence, often a mere mouse study, convinces many to invest in the latest product. Examples include Bioner's CosmeRNA, HairGuard's Growband, and potentially Niostem. However, none of these quite compare to the latest around a Crypto Token known as "Hair Dao."
Real quick, wtf is a dao? A dao, or Decentralized Autonomous Organization, is a type of organization represented by rules encoded as a computer program that is transparent, controlled by organization members, and not influenced by a central government. Daos are typically built on blockchain technology, like Ethereum, and operate using smart contracts, which are self-executing contracts with the terms of the agreement directly written into code. Keep in mind the decentralized aspects of this.
So, what exactly is Hair Dao? According to its creators, it’s a "Decentralized Science" Crypto project that claims it will "cure hair loss" by taking over the role of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the realm of hair loss research and early development. The NIH is a well-established U.S. government agency known for its role in funding scientific research. Hair Dao's ambition is nothing short of revolutionary—or at least, that's what they assert. In fact, its cringe and seems like... well your honour... a scam?
let's play a game

Some So Some Crypto Bros and their Crypto Venture Capital Firms.... umm ok

For further insight, you can refer to this article from Foster Cove Capital, a Crypto Venture Capital (CVC or VC) Fund owned by one of the co-founders of Hair Dao (by the way, is that even legal? what's the legality behind that one?):
https://www.fostercovecapital.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Internet_to_DAO_Comparison_Article.pdf
The article from the crypto VC states that government institutions often operate with significant inefficiencies in capital usage: so they think that these organizations when it comes to research are wasting money. Hair Dao aims to address this inefficiency in the hair loss research sector, suggesting that the government’s role in funding and regulating could be ripe for disruption. They liken their potential impact to companies like SpaceX and Anduril. However, such comparisons seem overly ambitious and here's why.....

Regulations

SpaceX and Anduril operate within rigorous regulatory frameworks. SpaceX collaborates with NASA and complies with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to ensure safety and operational standards in space travel. Similarly, Anduril works closely with the Department of Defense, adhering to national security regulations. In stark contrast, Hair Dao, as a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO), exists in the largely unregulated cryptocurrency space. The article itself acknowledges that this lack of regulatory clarity could pose significant risks, especially concerning compliance with U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulations. This could lead to serious legal and financial challenges for both investors and the project's founders. Also, it raises some questions regarding ethics and the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) which we will get into now...
Funnily enough, the Foster Cove Capital PDF article states that that regulation would help the government tax and make money off of DAO technology. This is very dumb. Let me say this, asking for government regulation of DAOs does nothing but turn you into a typical company on the stock exchange. You are bound by how fast you are making money, and due to the Consumer Identification Program FEDERAL LAW, anyone using DAOs and Cryptos must be identified by the government as a means of providing security to these trades.
The next crypto venture capital is owned by the other co-founder. ughhh lets see how fishy this one is... https://www.bizantine.capital/about3
i see it.... all of it!!
Their latest 2021 Annual Letter is a masterclass in financial acrobatics, so much so that it leaves me wondering if they’ve uncovered a secret trading algorithm, or perhaps a genuine crystal ball, that even the most seasoned Wall Street veterans would envy.
To say that Bizantine Capital had a stellar 2021 would be an understatement. Their self-reported returns are not just high—they're fucking stratospheric.
In 2021 alone, Bizantine returned +331.58%, outshining Bitcoin's respectable +61.18% and absolutely dwarfed the S&P 500's +26.89%.
Since their inception in April 2019, they've boasted an astronomical +2,626.39% return. That’s over 26 times the initial capital in less than three years.
To further scrutinize Bizantine’s claims, let’s juxtapose their performance with insights from a more grounded source: the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) Working Paper on private equity and venture capital funds. This pretty much shows how Bizantine is probably, if i were to bet, lying their asses off.
https://www.nber.org/system/files/working_papers/w28109/w28109.pdf
For buyout funds, the research finds little evidence of performance persistence, especially post-2000. Funds that were in the top quartile in previous cycles don’t necessarily continue to outperform in subsequent ones. This finding challenges the idea that past success reliably predicts future results—a cornerstone of many investment strategies.
In stark contrast, Bizantine Capital seems to defy this logic, suggesting that they consistently outperform regardless of market conditions. And we've seen crypto rise and crash..and crash...and maybe rise again?? many times within the last 5 years...
Bizantine Capital claims an Average Daily Return of 0.59% and a Standard Deviation of 5.58%, painting a picture of a wild rollercoaster ride compared to the S&P 500’s relatively calm 0.07% average daily return and 0.69% standard deviation. So in other words.... As Bizantine’s returns swing dramatically day-to-day, the S&P 500’s fluctuations are much more subdued.
And given these wild swings, Bizantine’s Sharpe Ratio stands at an impressive 2.000. The Sharpe Ratio is a key measure that helps investors understand how much excess return they're receiving for the additional volatility they're enduring. It's pretty much telling us how well an investment compensates for the risk it takes on. A higher Sharpe Ratio indicates better risk-adjusted returns, meaning the fund earns more return per unit of risk.
But, Bizantine's high standard deviation of 5.58% suggests significant daily volatility, which is usually a red flag for investors because it's implying a greater uncertainty and risk in the fund's returns. This high level of volatility means investors could experience substantial ups and downs. To me, this seems very inconsistent given their high Sharpe Ratio indicates they're generating VERY strong returns relative to this risk, Again, this is highly unusual and especially when this performance is done time and time again.

Okay, enough with the finance talk...for now......

Hair Dao Researcher Involved with Group Buying and Illegal Human Experiments: The use of phase 1 chemotherapy drugs

Recently, Hair Dao found itself in controversial waters. One of their lead community researchers, known as "Jumpman," orchestrated an unofficial human clinical trial where individuals were persuaded to use phase 1 chemotherapy drugs among other compounds include on that the researcher claimed to have designed himself saying that it could potentially regrow hair on a bald scalp (according to some people in this groupbuy he literally just designed it and never tested it on a cell or any animal) to regrow hair.
These drugs, unapproved and largely untested in humans, were obtained through a "group buying" scheme. This method involved large groups of people pooling funds to purchase something from an entity: in this case drugs/chemicals from JennysChems, a Chinese company. Participants committed to buying specific drugs, which were then manufactured and shipped to them. So people essentially payed to be apart of a clinical trial that offered them no safety monitoring mechanisms and -...

Hair Loss Community Member using chemotherapy drugs to "regenerate" hair follicles. Dangerous and irresponsible. Bad science.

Hair Dao, wtf are you doing?

Well, there are allegations that one of the co-founders contemplated offering payments for blood work and "reimbursements" to those purchasing drugs through Jumpman’s chemotherapy group buy. Below are screenshots from their Discord server and Jumpman's Telegram, revealing these disturbing discussions. Essentially, Jumpman tells these people, many of who claim to have Post Finasteride Syndrome or distrusting of "Big Pharma" that by particpating in this groupbuy and using these chems, Hair Dao would be one step closer to the cure. Jumpman then encourages these people to upload their bio metric data to Hair Dao's "secure patient platform"
One of the co-founders (andy1) seemingly supporting of this group buying. Also, wtf? dsmo? that increases the absorption of WHATEVER you put on your skin...even chemotherapy drugs.....
real screenshot...
Jumpman states that Hair Dao will pay for the blood work for those that participate in the group buying
Perhaps this is the TM community that Andy1, a co-founder of Hair Dao, was talking about?
This is worrying because we essentially have Hair Dao co-founders and team researchers running an illegal human clinical trial. I wonder where their ethic ID/code is for this clinical trial? Well who cares... it can't possibly get any wors--
Well, Jumpman seems to be collaborating with an actual University Researcher from the Imperial College London named Dr. Claire Higgins. I say seems to because that's what Hair Dao states on their twitter
https://archive.ph/KVJgY
So, let me get this straight...this guy who was organizing an illegal human clinical trial is apparently collaborating with a University researcher along with that university's research department? Why would Dr. Claire Higgins, a briliant researcher, be associated with such a thing? It seems that she is working with Hair Dao on something and Jumpman has something to do with it, right? She must know who Jumpman is and what he's about? Right? RIGHT??
Well...probably not? In this video, a youtuber who had been dealing with harassment from members of Hair Dao's research team and discord server exposes that Dr. Claire Higgins denies knowing who Jumpman is (and she does this rather aggressively at that). https://youtu.be/n6LvAhxWJ64?si=AjEK5qrKHlWUq8wm&t=213 at 3:42
So, someone here is lying of over exaggerating something...and in either case is could defiantly count as a securities violation (US SEC).

So, where does this leave you?

Well... Just don't fall for their schemes. Honestly, think to yourself, what would the funding of hair loss research require CRYPTO at all? The most transparent thing these crypto bros could do would...well not make a crypto? And also register as a non-profit. In the United States, non-profits are required to state to the public on how they get their funds and use it. Simple. Shut. Done. You should not need to use crypto for this operation when you have websites like GoFundMe that can facilitate crowd funding.
They've been making some hardcore attempts to spread this crypto all over YouTube and members of their discord server have taken to harassing youtubers to support the crypto project. Don't be fooled by their donations and affiliations with some actual university researchers and doctors: this could very well be a case of credibility laundering, where, the association with legitimate figures somehow furthers the ethos of an individual/person. After all, do you remember Theranos? https://youtu.be/jIqF95qiQSs?si=Cv9hK-DcuOY1ypmg
Members of this server have even doxxed and created fake screenshots of youtubers all as a means to gain favor to push this project. Who would ever take this skibidi crypto serious?

2024.06.09 12:15 No-Organization5444 Need advice! Executor of will took money

Long story short. My mum passed away 2018, her husband told us her children that life insurances weren't paying out. She told us before she died that she made a will for her life insurance money to go to us her children. Anyway I've now come across letters stating he's taken life insurances out in 2020 and applied for probate, we don't know who her will was with or anything and we have no experience in dealing with this sort of thing so have no idea what to do. I have applied for the probate register to see if there's a will there but waiting on that. Will we ever see the money as I know he's spent it all. He got married again pretty much straight away after my mum passed and he's now separated from this woman and she contacted me to see if I wanted my mums stuff and these letters were in there. He also was using her bank account 2 months after she had passed away, he's done a runner now so no idea where he is but know he spent over 200,000 of her life insurance in the first few months.

2024.06.09 12:15 Doctor_whofan24 I received this letter a while ago back in 2022. I had just gotten out of hospital from a brain haemhorrage.

I had just gotten out of hospital from a brain haemhorrage back in 2022 only one day after moving out of an old flat and into a new one.
A bit of background- I (27f) was moved into a flat of 6 in the student accommodation I was staying in at the time, 5 guys and me, it started off well but I suddenly started developing dermititis all over my body and I couldn't work out what the allergen was. I caught one of my flatmates using my cleaning equipment when I had asked all 5 of them to not touch my stuff because I get dermititis and have health issues (apparently they thought I was lying and must have Munchauses).
I went to management to ask to be moved to a different flat but they dismissed my concerns by implying I was being dramatic when my skin was covered in hives from my collar bone all the way down to my feet. From just above my knee down to my feet it was purple because it was doubly infected too. This created a tense atmosphere in the flat.
Eventually, I was able to move out of the flat by swapping with another student who was a friend of one of my flatmates. Only a day after the move I suffered a brain haemhorrage due to the stress that had piled up on me. Only a few days after I got out of hospital one of the guys "Liam" came to visit. Before he left he asked for a FWB relationship with me and I rejected. He left and I thought that was the end of it.
After a couple of weeks this letter was delivered to me. At first I thought it was from my narc mother (she's a whole different story) but my aunt pointed out there was no stamp on the envelope so it was hand delivered. As soon as that was pointed out I immediately realized it was from "Liam" because of the handwriting. My friend took me to the security guard who said he was "very concerned by the wording of this letter". He took it to management who again played it down and implied I was being dramatic.
I finally moved out of that place and to a whole different area (not the one in the letter that "Liam" thinks moved to) but the university is on high alert in case he shows up.

2024.06.09 11:51 No_Lychee_679 Identity Mix-Up Nightmare: Need Legal Advice

2024.06.09 11:29 pittiemama80 FINALLY! RELIEF!

Hey ladies!!! So, I just wanted to make this post to hopefully give some women HOPE. I have been on Oral Minoxidil since November 2023. I take 2.5mg twice a day. I took it daily, never missing a dose. I LOOKED FORWARD to taking it, because my hair loss was so extreme at that point that I was terrified to even brush my hair, let alone wash it. It seemed to get a little worse 3-5 months in, but the research I saw told me that was common. BUT... about 1 1/2-2 months ago (so, late April-beginning of May) it STOPPED FALLING OUT!!!!!! I went from ONE time brushing FILLING up my brush, no joke, to one time barely seeing any hair fall out. My clothes and pillowcases aren't COVERED in my hair anymore. I can run my hands thru my hair now, with only several pieces coming out, instead of several hundred. I worked in salons most of my life. NOT getting a HC is unheard of for me. I haven't had a HC in over 3 years because I was TOO SCARED of how much would fall out with the combs they use. I have been doing a poor job of trimming my own hair at home and just wearing it up for 3 years. I am now READY to go get a LEGIT cut, knowing the hair loss has STOPPED. Ladies... If you try Oral Minoxidil, just stick with it. I swear it WILL kick in, and when it does, it will be amazing. Plus, I am broke... I can't afford rogaine foam, and being honest... I am not disciplined enough to use it daily, maybe even twice a day. I am lucky to have insurance that covers most of my cost, but if you don't, check GoodRX prices in your local area. Just need to know the dose and quantity. My peach fuzz has seemed to get a little worse, but that is a small price to pay to have my hair coming back. Thank God for razors and clippers! 😬😂 Other than that, I haven't had ANY side effects. We can remove hair... Adding it back in, sadly, is not as easy. I just TRULY wanted to give other ladies hope, and let you know that this just may be a great option for you. The relief I have felt for the last 1 1/2-2 months has been indescribable. My PCP prescribes it for me. I do have several health issues, Fibromyalgia being a main one, but I dunno if that is causing this? Oh, I have type 2 diabetes, also. I am guessing it is like the foam, that if you stop using, the hair loss will start again? I have no plans on stopping, I refuse to find out the hard way 🥺 Just hoping to provide some hope to those wondering what to do or if the oral medication is right for you. I know how desperate feeling it can be. I am now just waiting to see what grows back. I am HOPING it will help my brows grow back, but I'll be HAPPY just to have my hair again. Sending tons of love. This is just a horrible thing to have to experience as a woman. Huge hugs to you all. I'll check back to see if I can help answer anymore questions, but I covered what I can think of here. Again... It takes a while, so DONT QUIT. You have to let it kick in 6-8 months before results. I am SO GLAD I stuck with it. Again... My blood work has not shown an exact cause. Could be either of the two I mentioned, or could be found in the future... I wish I had an exact cause. I DO know my scalp usually hurts and itches all the time. So sensitive it is hard to touch most of the time... Washing my hair without HUGE CLUMPS coming out is a feeling I can't even describe. Love you all. Hang in there, ladies ❤️
Much Love- Andrea 🥰

2024.06.09 11:24 Zestyclose_Ebb4089 Purebred dog, but curious about genetic makeup.

Purebred dog, but curious about genetic makeup.
I have a purebred noodle horse 😅 (greyhound). But still very curious about her genetics. Mostly just because I am a nerd. Obviously some traits she has I can visibly see and therefore make a semi-educated guess about which alleles are present. However I would like to get a test done to see more of what she carries. Mostly interested in physical traits of coat colors, eye colors, pigmentation patterns, masks and such. I am in Europe though. Here we send samples to Laboklin for analysis of genetics, and Mostly for health related things. I will send in to Laboklin to check for certain breed related illensses. But Laboklin do not offer a bundle that includes the testing for coat colors and such.. you really have to buy each test separately 🙈😅 which gets pricey to say the least.
Any good tips on where I can do my silly frivolous color testing ?

2024.06.09 11:13 Adam_Addy_Hansen My problems with dating these days

28M, living at home still.
My life hasn't been easy, and sure I can level the playing field by saying no one's life has been easy. We all go through things, we all struggle, and there are those who overcome those struggles, and those who stay in those struggles.
To me, it almost seems like no matter how much I try to overcome my struggles, there was always one or two more things that came out of nowhere and made everything worse than the struggles previously, just to knock me back down a few more pegs. I'll give you some examples: at 24, while striving for a full-time position at the hardware store I was working at to secure stability and independence, I was wrongfully fired. Compounding the stress caused by later being diagnosed with Ulcerative Proctitis (ulcerative colitis), and the looming need for personal health insurance. A stroke of luck came when my mom's friend facilitated a job opportunity, but the role of a mortgage servicer proved mentally and emotionally taxing, exacerbated by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and eventual quarantine. Despite grappling with trauma and disillusionment from the corporate world, I found solace in joining my best friend's candle business at 26, albeit facing daunting challenges accessing affordable health insurance due to income restrictions and exorbitant medication costs for the condition ($600-$1200 without insurance). The only way I could see a way out was either by balancing multiple part-time jobs and working insane amount of hours, finding a full-time job with benefits, or staying exactly where I was by flying underneath the goverment required limit of hours one can work, so as to recieve free healthcare by only working with my friend (who wasn't giving me very many hours to begin with since it is a small-business of just her and I). I chose to stay where I was because there were more layers behind just the need for healthcare that was in the recesses of my psyche which were self-esteem issues, finding a sense of purpose, the seeking of therapy to work through these issues, eating disorders that have been around since I was a kid, and the perpetual loneliness I had been feeling for quite sometime. You might be wondering, "why didn't he just move out and find a roommate?" I don't want a roommate, and see no difference in living with someone like a roommate and learning to adapt to their lifestyle, or living with my mother who I already know the lifestyle of.
Nevertheless at some point, I found a YouTube channel called, "HealthyGamerGG." Where the creator known as Dr. K talks to everyone in his community about mental health matters. I learned about alexithymia (which is correlated to my sense of purpose), he talks about self-esteem, he talks about confidence and finding a partner, and I'm just soaking it all up! I'm learning everything I could, I'm talking to all of my friends about this stuff too and they're noticing a change in me. At some point, I started going to therapy and my therapists started noticing the changes in me as well, I even started going to the gym. I finally find a sense of purpose, and I go out on a limb and try something in IT--my friend told me I could shadow him at work, and he was going to help me through getting a job.
Despite the significant personal growth and improvements in various aspects of my life, such as self-esteem, ambition, and healing from trauma and Alexithymia, I still struggle to find love. The issue: there is an initial expectation of perfection early on, which often overshadows deeper connection and understanding of nuance in personal situation. In essence, there's a lack of flexibility and grace for each other. Of course, while I endeavor to be transparent about my journey without overwhelming potential partners, my life is far from stagnant and there is a clear path forward with much ambition (something I've been told that many women are looking for in men); I'm actively pursuing certifications in IT to eventually land a job, I'm learning French, I'm engaging in photography, and I'm maintaining a fitness routine. However, I recognize that my life feels incomplete without a partner to share experiences and contribute to mutual growth, aiming for a relationship where both individuals complement each other without relying on the other for complete fulfillment solely from one another.
A recent twitter post by a woman in her 30s sparked some discussion online a while ago, about her dating struggles due to career-focused life choices. She had a life that was very carefully designed by her own hands, and she was finding it hard to get into a relationship with someone who would fit in to the concreteness of the life that she built for herself; vs finding someone when she was younger or being a little more flexible with what she allows. At first, I thought this was just something that was significant for her life and could only be attributed to a reason why I was still single on the other side of the equation, but didn't have any consequence with how I should or have approached my own life. Upon recent reflecting on a date that happened a few weeks ago, in addition to a friend's insight about why I'm still single as a whole--with the analogy of me being a unicorn seeking another unicorn, coming from my friend--I came to the understanding that I shared in the issue immensely. The challenge for me was to find acceptence of the seemingly concrete quirks from people who didn't want to accept those quirks. This introspection revealed the need to reject limitations imposed by conditions like ARFID so that I can be embraced for actual personal traits, rather than being a unicorn seeking a "perfect match." Thus the a wider diversity of people being able to love me for me rather than most being put off by the rigidity of my quirkiness and only few trying to love me for "me," with the quirks. The aim has shifted to working on being open-minded so that compatibility isn't overshadowed by arbitrary constraits set upon by my own short-comings and traumas.
In the interim, while I can understand that people shouldn't date others based on one's "potential" or their prospect, that should only apply when someone's word doesn't match their actions. Likewise, there seems to be a lack of understanding that when you get into a relationship, you are adopting some of that person's responsibilities and/or another person as a responsibility. Relationships aren't there to make you happy, they're designed for accountability and improving in life and happiness can be a side-effect of that. Which means that you're not going to be perfect or ready when you walk into a relationship, but you become ready and you have to be willing to change. Otherwise, there is no other point to be in a relationship as there is no place for rigidity in relationship. This requires a lot of grace, patience, and understanding from both sides of the equation to work and to attempt the relationship. It's scary, but at some point everyone needs to take a leap of faith knowing that even if the grass might be greener on the otherside, you should just worry about taking care of the grass you do have instead of comparing with something that is imaginary or could potentially just be artificial.

2024.06.09 11:07 OneOkMuffin What do I even do in this situation? Heartbroken and lost, but my ex gave me tangible reasons for "I'm not ready/it's not you it's me/I need to work on myself".

What if the reasons they say they're not ready, that it's not me it's them, and that they need to work on themselves are tangible and readily understandable reasons?
Asking because I'm heartbroken and was dumped by a truly wonderful, incredible man who's going through a mental health crisis and insists that I am amazing, incredible, the best girlfriend he's ever had, and that I'm genuinely irreplaceable, but he's just not ready or emotionally available to give me the commitment I deserve and is letting me go so I don't have to be "dragged along" through a relationship he says he won't be able to invest into while he works on himself. This probably all sounds like bullshit to you, and tbh at first it did to me, but for some perspective: He doesn't have a driver's license, he lives at home with his aging grandparents, he's physically unhealthy, he has severe self-esteem issues, he doesn't have health insurance because his job pays like shit (9 dollars an hour after taxes), and he is so depressed and stressed out that he feels emotionally numb to the point that he was struggling to even feel love and butterflies for me. He also lied to me about a few things (3 things) in the relationship, though he confessed/admitted to them immediately and all of them can be directly traced straight to his severe issues with guilt and shame. None involve cheating or super major things btw. I bring this last point up because he named himself lying to me about stupid shit as one of the things that pushed him to make this decision, because that behavior is unacceptable and the underlying reasons for it are something he must tackle immediately and heavily.
Everyone I've spoken to, including literal strangers who've never met either of us, agree that he probably does love me deeply and there's a very good chance we'll be together again someday, and this isn't a cop out excuse. I will say that while this semi came out of nowhere, there were definite signs beforehand, and his mental health absolutely was getting worse and worse over the months. But how do I even cope? He wants to be friends and I do too, but being friends with him is like cutting open a wound every single day. I have to hold back the immense amount of love for him, because I know (and he also knows, because he literally said this to me) that I have to treat him like a friend and not like the most important person in my life, even though he is.
I know the knee-jerk reaction from most people is going to be "screw him, no contact forever", but please understand comments like that hurt me immensely, too. We don't even refer to each other as each others' exes because we love each other that much. He's just truly not ready for the commitment and wants to work on himself before considering a relationship with anyone. He's trying hard to not lead me on, though he has said some things which both hurt me and give me hope--but to be honest a good chunk of me being lead on is literally my friends' fault. Out of around ~20 people I've talked to about this situation, legit every single person, including the ones who dislike him for his decision to break up with me, agree that the chances of us getting back together someday are very high. I was legit told by 3 separate people to "just chill out and don't even stress, he's still yours he just doesn't know it, just vibe and focus on yourself and give him a little space but not too much."
Help.

2024.06.09 11:02 Sudden_Chocolate5704 Predictions

7 months out: phone snatched/mugged on London day trip and she posts brief shocked Instagram stories before deleting them because it doesn’t fit the narrative.
1 year out: she’s bought an expensive but shabby, outdated terraced house. Gone into the renovations with her sister for social media content. They have a falling out over going bland, ‘tasteful’, muted tone sage and grey bathroom vs floor to ceiling circus wallpaper. The house just languishes half done with peel stick flooring and random anthropology furniture that she strategically films around.
1.5 years out: there’s an actual health crisis and the private system they’ve definitely bought insurance for kicks them back to the NHS and Kyle is so shocked by the state of it he insists on going to the US for healthcare and she tries to keep that quiet.
