2024.05.16 01:33 Rohtus '27M-34F' I kinda want to cheat, but, complex. Therapy Adviced, but need to talk. Great relationship, 2 desires. WsId?

Well, first of all, I started recently on Reddit and this is my first post. I've been reading deep stuff about relationships, more sexual than anything. English is not my first language, but I write all of this on my own. (You can tell me if I say sth wrong, it'd be helpful).
Just a bit about me: I love falling in love, I love loving and being loved. I like monogamy, I tried an open-rl before, I didn't like it. I love humour, I'm a little bit childish, very sexual and I dedicate a really warm love with every close person to me. I think I'm a good friend, partner and lover. I try my best to evolve my ways, and I always prefer to talk about things instead of being distant or rude.
That being said, let's start.
We started this relationship on beginnings of 2023. She has a daughter (9yo), not mine, obviously. She has almost every perk on my perfect-girl list. She's the best gf I've ever had. She's supportive, charismatic, lovely, social-smart, believes in therapy, great 'gifter', erotic, and we have a lot in common.
The fact that she's older than me, sometimes troubles me the thing about having a family on our own, just bc womb-timing. I also don't like her family that much, it's just not my type, not only in social class, but in intelligence and maybe some manners, not them being rude or too messy in the house, but just, I know I cannot talk freely on some intellectual things and I don't like their house.
When I think of the perfect vibes, I have other girl in mind, and it's someone I know, Pilar. A little bit younger than me, but we study the same science career. She's like, the girl that looks honest, simple, a lovely smile, not exactly hot, but cute and beautiful. There's some thing about my family acceptance, too. I never actually approached to her, but we know who each other is for sure. I don't really know her opinion about me. Maybe she has a peek of my ego, just because I talked about having a band and not leting teachers have an attitude on students. It's not a bad thing, but sometimes I give some people the wrong impression. Anyway, she's always in a closed group of friends (all girls, like 3 or 4). They don't seem to go out, or not a lot. It's the kind that prefers to play a table-game and talk. I don't follow her on IG, she has a private account. So I didn't do it bc I would have felt weird if she rejected that and we see each other the next day, all without talking.
My therapist told me I should just follow her and say hi, now that we don't share class (bc I kinda changed my career).
The second girl, it's a blonde ballet dancer. Probably a little younger. We shared class for just a couple of months last year, then she leaved. We talked. I remember one day I was going out of class and she was talking to a friend, then asked me if I was leaving the building, I said yeah, then she stopped the conversation and went out with me. It was pretty obvious, which I liked a lot. And there were this... 'I wanna kiss you so hard', at least I did, but I know her at some point too.
After that, we just talked a couple times, but shortly. Mostly her to me. It's kinda weird, bc sometimes I felt like she was talking as if with a parent of some of her students. But the other thing also exists, but even in that beginning it was like this.
So the thing is that she asked me last week about my... writings? of the class? Dunno how you call it, but you know. Maybe if I could give her a class or sth, but like, kinda formal. She has a bf now, I think. Of course I gave her that. Previously to that, a couple of weeks earlier, I dreamt w her, I told her, like "yeah, I saw your story before sleep"- "oh, yeah it was that, like natural". Then, last week, when she asked me that of the class we shared, she was like "Oh hi, I'm Maggie, from the class, you remember?", like, I do, I told u I dreamt about you lol.
Anyway, I kinda wanna make a move. I dreamt of her again, all about kissing a lot, not in a romantic way, just, make out a lot bc I like her. Fun fact, I silent her from my stories. I don't wanna her to see me w my gf.
My therapist told me to go and invite her a coffee. Which we kinda talked about it, but she was in the middle of exams and we didn't had a lot of time, so I told her that I we see each other, it should be relaxed, that she better study. I was like, concerned about her education, lol.
I dunno why I do things like that. When I actually like someone, I act like stupid.
Anyway, I don't know wth with this. I don't wanna break anything, but I want to get this off my chest too and feel kinda free.
P.S.: It's a pivotal time in my life. I changed career. My friends betrayed me, so I stopped having a band with them after 7 years, that's another theme if you wanna know about it. (We played with international bands and everything). But this moment in my life it's all about knowing myself and exploring my individualism. I don't actually like cheating, but I have these feelings. Pls, some advice.
Sorry for the long post, here's a potato šŸ„”.

2024.05.15 23:45 naji_088 AITA for getting mad at my parents for making me cancel a trip that has been planned for 5 months?

So, me (19y/o F), and my best friend, 'E' (19y/o F), met during the first semester of school this year through our sorority. She was my big and I was her little, and we connected instantly and because close friends fast. We literally spent every waking moment together, and I even brought her home with me on some weekends from campus so she got to know my family and became a part of it quickly. Eventually I turned into the same for her family, and it even got to a point where people started asking if we were dating because we we're always together plus, I'm bi and 'E' is pan. Though we've kissed, (among other things) and did consider starting a romantic relationship, we both have a lot of issues when it comes to juggling life so we just decided to stay friends.
Anyways, so one time in November, Me, E, my sister, and my mom all went out to lunch near our campus. It was going great and we we're all having a good time, and the group arrives at the conversation of where E is from. Her family lives in Barbados, and she was explaining how she's had a few friends fly with her family from the states to her home when the school year ends, and they stay at their house for a week or so at the beginning of the summer.
I automatically jump at the opportunity and start trying to convince my mom to let me go. I mean, who wouldn't want to go on a vacation to a TROPICAL ISLAND with your BEST FRIENDS for an entire WEEK in a new country where I'm LEGAL DRINKING AGE??? It would literally be a DREAM come true.
**side note and background**
I've only been on ONE trip with friends without at least one of my parents, and it was last summer before I moved to college in Charleston, SC (we live in GA). Me and 4 of my friends paid for an AirBnB out of pocket, and left the next day for a week. It was great! I didn't tell my mom where I was going until the night before, and she couldn't stop me because I had already paid for it and my friend was driving us. She argued a little but didn't say much else because she "trusted the group I was going with.". She literally only knew one person in the group who was a close friend of mine for 4 years and is a Marine.
*back to the story*
I try to sneakily start talking my mom into even considering the idea because I know she won't go for it at first; she's one of those helicopter moms that has to know every teensy-weensy detail of her kids' plans and daily lives, though since I moved out, she can't keep hovering. I don't even get through my first line of begging before she flat out looks at me and E and says. "Yeah, I think we can make that happen."
Me and my sister stare at her like she's grown another f*cking HEAD and E jumps up and down excitedly. I questioned her multiple times on this, saying like,
"Seriously? You're not messing with me right now?",
and, "You're sure? Like 100% you'll let me go? No strings attached if I can pay for it?".
She even goes so far as to PROMISE to PAY FOR IT IN FULL as a birthday present if I don't ask for anything else.
I literally was on the verge of tears because I was having a really rough semester and ready to be done with school already, and this gave me something to look forward to at the end of the year.
Over the next couple of months we continued planning this trip to a tee: we figured out the best dates to plan the flights with the cheapest options so my parents wouldn't have to pay a sh!tload of money (even though we could pay the amount just fine). We planned it around both my little sisters and E's little sisters graduation ceremonies so we could both attend them and fly down together after, with her dad accompanying us. We had a daily workout routine planned so she could get ready for summer golf and so I could get into shape for pre-season basketball. We had friends that we we're planning on meeting for parties at houses in the neighborhood and had a huge schedule-packed-day for E's birthday, which would be on the first couple days we landed on the island.
March hits and the school year ends, and E comes and stays with me for a week after we move out. E had been having some health problems and hadn't been in the best of moods but otherwise everything was pretty quiet other than a few altercations my siblings and I had with my mom before she went out of town. The week goes by quickly, then E's mom comes to pick her up from my house and we try and get E's mom and my mom to collaborate to figure out plane tickets because it's about time to book them, and my mom keeps changing the subject. Before we even have a chance to bring it up again E and her fam have to leave.
Flashforward to a about a week or so later, I've been fighting a bit with my mom and walking around the house on eggshells, but I decide to bring up the flight and ticket booking to my parents the day before mother's day. My mom immediately shoots down the idea and suggests that we talk about it another time, but I push back because it's already mid-May and we're supposed to leave May 27th.
I explain how 'if we don't talk about it now, it's not going to happen, and I want to have an adult conversation about it because I am indeed an adult and want to be treated like one and expect to be treated like one.'
She goes off on me and says:
"Fine, if you want to have an adult conversation then listen to what I'm saying. I don't want you going to Barbados. I don't like the fact that you'll have to fly back on your own. I thought that E's mom was gonna be with you there and back. E's little breakdown the other day makes me think that she needs some time away from you and you going to Barbados with her wouldn't help that. Plus, Delta doesn't fly there and your dad couldn't use his sky miles so the ticket is gonna be expensive. This is just a lot for your first trip and I don't think it's a good idea. Going to a third-world country your first time out of the US just isn't something I think you're ready for. Also have you seen the crime rates there?? It says here that robberies and assault are a huge thing there."
She then had my dad pull up articles and papers on the crime rates on the island, which is little to none.
Ironic because we live in the US and in the 15 different states our family has lived in, I've personally been through 2 school shootings, gone to school on countless days with bomb threats, had to stay home because of armed robberies in neighboring houses (in nice-ass neighborhoods too), and had copious amounts of friends and loved-ones die or get sick from alcohol and drug abuse and/or become a victim or witness to SA.
I tried to cut in multiple times during this rant to give my opinion and talk through this with my parents. My dad listened to a bit of it, but ultimately my mom has absolute say, and she wasn't having any of it. All of the reasoning my parents gave me are just weak excuses that I have a rational solution or failsafe for. The worst part is the fact that I'm not even surprised. I should've known this would happen.
**sob story and me feeling sorry for myself lol skip if u want**
I'm the oldest of 4 and adopted; I try to step up into that role and be helpful as often as I can, but I've missed out on so many core memories throughout high school and college because I feel so obligated to them. I even got a full-ride scholarship, so my parents don't have to pay as much for my college. I'm truly becoming a functioning adult, but I will admit I still depend on my parents for a lot of things. I will never take that for granted. I know my place and know that I am spoiled as hell, but I also know that I'm not being unreasonable for being angry at them for breaking their promise to me.
**OK sob story done
AITA for staying mad at my parents for saying I can't go on this trip, and would it be even worse if I simply just figured out a way to pay for it myself and went without their permission?
Should I try to keep convincing them to pay for it??
SHOULD I JUST GO TO THERAPY? (definitely, yes)
E and me got off the phone about an hour or so ago and she told me some news. Her mom offered to pay for half the ticket (and then some if necessary) to help get me out of the house, even if it's not the week of E's birthday. I start working this coming Monday, and hopefully if I can work as many hours as I can in the first few weeks, I can save up some money and go to Barbados with the help of E and her mom. She's transferring to another college, and I may be dropping out, so we're not going to be going to the same school anymore. We had kinda hoped that this trip could be our last hurrah before the dynamic duo got split up for awhile.
Sorry for such a long post, this just has so many different aspects to it and I need some outsider advice. I keep seeing these on SMOSH and figured people might have a different way of seeing this than me and my friends.
**(PS my mother may or may not have BPD, Anxiety, a split personality and just a lot of childhood trauma that causes her to act like this. My dad is lowk absent and travels a lot but he tries his best; E's parents are almost the opposite from mine.)**

2024.05.15 23:23 NewAnt3846 Stockholm Syndrome (can yall review some of my poems?ā€¦want to make it a book someday

ā€œthe initial grip of fear, that turns into the unexpected earning for your capture.ā€
the poetry in here is about survival and surrender. it delves into the complexities of a karmic love. being trapped in a situation, while still being aware of its toxicity. my poems are meant to convey the tumultuous journey of being in love with a narcissist. (your ā€œcaptureā€) the lessons you learn, as painful as they can be, invite you to take a step into the shadow side of love. if you feel at home here, Iā€™m truly sorry. there is a way out. I hope you break free. -with so much love, gillian.
and when you retreat,
iā€™ll wear this shirt for days.
intoxicating & sweet,
with your cologne interlaced.
breathing in your deceit,
it kind of feels like mace.
denial mixed with defeat.
i knew you werenā€™t game.
still i chose to play.
it isn't fair to blame.
believe me, i carry my own shame.
poured myself into your glass,
played the waiting game.
leaking through your cracks,
our imperfections the same.
-i recognize a glass half full, even when itā€™s shattered.
every summer, we reheat.
you left your roots behind
seasons change, but cycles repeat.
if you see the same tree in the forest twice,
itā€™s time to face defeat.
must come to terms,
the truth can be bleak.
-youā€™re lost.
got a god complex,
but youā€™re not religious.
searching for whoā€™s next.
never fearing Jesus.
sit back & count your checks.
blame your mistakes on demons.
make your excuses.
youā€™ve got your reasons.
-false prophecy
you remind me of an onion.
make me cry as I peel away at you,
in search for your seed.
but youā€™re just a facade of skins.
layers of deception,
concealing the truth.
disappointing.
you have no core,
only hollow creed.
-my motherā€™s disdain for onions.
thereā€™s always been a haze between us.
murky, convoluted, undefined.
more than friends, less than lovers.
simultaneously strangers.
but in this ambiguity, I find solace.
-for grey is my favorite color.
iā€™ll play bartender,
make you something nice.
your heart in my hand,
gripping your ice.
drain me dry,
leave me hollow & still.
next week youā€™ll return,
thirsty for your refill.
-whiskey sour
bittersweet.
should have read the label.
ā€œpoisonā€
sitting so pretty on my table.
calling like an offering,
tempting & fatal.
it wonā€™t go down smooth,
leave me unstable.
i tried to resist, i was unable.
now i see that love exists,
but only in fables.
-why do mistakes taste so good?
your lips left a bruise.
just here to distract.
but i admit iā€™m confused
when you kiss me like that.
aware iā€™m being used.
still comfortable where iā€™m at.
position i choose
complacent doormat.
-welcome home
you prefer car rides.
a space to talk, yet evade my gaze.
unable to sit still, restless in your ways.
never one to settle, always seeking the next best fling.
oh, how I long for the days when adderall made you sing.
-my fuel light is on
I broke my own heart,
more times than a few.
i may have lied,
but never to you.
if i faced the truth,
then whatā€™s left to do?
iā€™m comfortable here,
wasting my youth.
i hate to admit it,
but i know itā€™s true.
iā€™m scared of change,
you run from it too.
i wonā€™t forgive myself,
for always forgiving you.
-can you be home sick from people too?
Youā€™re dead to me.
-Necrophiliac.
come on.
i forgave you,
without an apology.
convinced myself it was closure.
started our anthology.
this will never be over.
itā€™s in our biology.
letā€™s have a do over.
can you just come fuck me?
-delusional. & i canā€™t rhyme either.
iā€™ll read between your lines,
decipher each clue.
search for the signs,
follow your cue.
youā€™ve spun me around,
think iā€™ve lost a few screws.
still i rise, dust off the bruise.
maybe iā€™m drawn to a challenge,
perhaps itā€™s not you.
denial is my shield.
my safe space, my refuge.
the truth will not prevail
defeat? i refuse.
my final boss,
I aim to subdue.
-sore loser.
my mom said i felt cold.
I always tell the truth.
the words escaped my mouth.
ā€œi get it from you.ā€
funny, she hugs me now.
never in my youth.
conceal carry my trauma.
play it cool, keep it smooth.
use my words as a weapon.
daddy taught me how to shoot.
-target practice
itā€™s lonely as a ghost,
been trapped here for years.
lingering around,
mopping up your tears.
do you sense my presence?
can you feel me near?
if I dare make a sound,
will you even hear?
or am I just a whisper?
itā€™s never been quite clear.
promised to stay beside you,
my love was sincere.
-invisible
afraid to release
what's just a mist.
I must learn to respect
your lack of interest.
hard pill to swallow,
if i could just take the hint.
i hate letting go
of what doesn't exist.
-maybe iā€™m the problem
chasing you down as you flee,
why look back, just to see?
iā€™m gaining distance, is this what you need?
only now I realize, I'm your source of glow.
i feed your flame, you need me to grow.
without my warmth, will your embers persist?
or will they die out, because I was your wick?
I can go the distance, even do it quick.
didnā€™t think I could pass you but, tag, you're it.
so when your lost in the dark,
just look for my light.
for my flames eternal.
vivacious and bright.
-Ruled by the Sun.
you love her like a one-way mirror.
boosting your ego, making thoughts clearer.
she stands before you, but can you even see her?
soon her time will come, to be valued, to be known.
to be more than a reflection, to be art on her own.
-shattered
i feel as though iā€™m trapped
in a museum.
exhibits of my past.
meticulously preserved & on display.
forced to observe and to my dismay..
no exits.
-i donā€™t like it here
i am an esteemed professor.
teaching you how to love.
i am a well-traveled guide.
leading you to your full potential.
i am a warrior.
going to battle for your reputation.
i am an artist.
molding you into your greatest self.
i am a generous humanitarian.
donating my most precious piece to another women.
she sees no flaws.
enamored by your beauty.
a saw the hardened marble slab
i chiseled away for years.
only to reveal the beauty underneath for someone else to cherish.
-wasted potential
when we were pretending to be strangers, I loved you from afar.
when we were playing house,
I welcomed you with all my heart.
you left me here, with nothing but a scar.
sad and empty.
headed to a bar.
light up a cigarette.
fill me with tar.
I hope you think of me when you see a shooting star.
-maybe you loved me in a past life
only one day will i realize
the last thing i should feel is surprise
my personality has been downsized
because i chose to compromise
with a man wearing a disguise
your plan was always devised
but Iā€™ll meet you at our spot
-king sized
you can fill your bed with anyone.
but who can fill your void?
youā€™ll never solve the puzzle
-sincerely, the missing piece.
ravenous for praise.
the apex predator.
you feed on the weak.
but never leave satisfied.
your greedy but insatiable.
devoured your feast
how can you be famished?
-taste me and see me why youā€™ve been starving
thereā€™s things i wanna say to you.
but iā€™ll just let you be.
you have a way of always avoiding
-accountability
youā€™ve got walls up
but i know where the windows are
-can i come in?
maybe you do
love me
but only in the dark
when no oneā€™s watching
-conditional.
i wish i was tired of you.
forgiveness, i canā€™t escape.
they say patience is a virtue,
but itā€™s a habit i canā€™t break.
-if i had a dollar for all the times i should have blocked you
the spot i had for you was soft.
made for you, a perfect fit.
delusion is wearing off.
disgust is starting to hit.
gave it all to you, at any cost.
-should have known it wasnā€™t permanent.
and just like that,
2 steps forward. 10 steps back.
why do i feel comfortable in this trap?
-i hope you run away and never come back
I don't wish you well, that would be too easy.
I wish you self-reflection.
-internal accountability.
i am the girl that learned
to do everything by myself.
to not depend on others to save me.
to fill up my time, or entertain me.
he said to go where i am appreciated, so i went to therapy.
-iā€™ll send you in the invoice.
in order to heal a wound,
you have to stop touching it.
-i have dermatillomania
thank you for reading! far from perfect but i took up writing as a way to express myself and it really helped me heal and process my emotions <3 thanks guys

2024.05.15 19:27 salikwaq I (M 28) feel disrespected in my relationship (F 28) but am I overreacting

So me and my gf are in a live in relationship and itā€™s been a year since we are together. At times I feel I am disrespected but am I overreacting because whenever I put this in-front of her she thinks I am stretching the topic.
So every call that I take for us she doubts everything. From minutest of the things. For example, we were having hard time cleaning our home so we decided upon hiring a maid. Because of our budget she agreed to cleaning the home two times a week. I tried my best to atleast convince her to clean the home three times a week. She declined and started telling how difficult and expensive things have become and how difficult it is for to finance her daughterā€™s education. She kept and saying that for another half hour. I called my gf (she was in the office) to tell her she will be cleaning the home for just two days and is not agreeing and stating her problems again and again. I told her to letā€™s just lock it for two days a week because if not then I will have to listen to her everyday because I work from home and I cannot listen to all of this daily.
Since I took a call and agreed upon two times a week. Since then my gf has been taunting me that why did I agree on it and I have got tired explaining that I cannot keep listening to her life problems on a daily basis. She keeps taunting me.
Now this is just one of the examples, she shows me middle finger any moment even in the bestest of the moods, goes rude at times. Taunts me for smallest of the things.
I do my best efforts to support our home financially, she got a project as a freelancer which could have paid off a good number. She took the project and delayed it for two months I kept on telling her how important this can be to us since my other business is at loss and how much we need that money, she stills delayed it. At last the client warned her that they will sue her and she has to refund the money back. Since she did not have the money I paid for it from my savings. I do everything to back her and support her but she just tends to degrade me in all the manners possible.
So we joke about how She keeps on asking for a big ring on the marriage proposal day and how beautiful it should be.
One weekend she went to her parents home, and told her mother that when you start finding a husband for me do let him know that I want a big ring for proposal.
I mean? Why will you tell your mother this? When I asked her she tells me anyways I am going to marry you I was just engaging in the conversation.
When we have a fight going on and I am trying to put my point she gets on a work phone call.
Whenever I try to address an issue, she replies by saying ā€˜what do you wantā€™, ā€˜are you done stretching the topicā€™ and things like that.
A fews days back I watched a movie which I loved watching, I told her that I think we should watch this movie together because I feel the portrayal of love and compassion in this film is something worth watching.
She went on watching half of the film at her parentā€™s home on the weekend. I told her in a upsetting manner that how desperately I wanted to watch it with her despite already watching it. To which she replied what is the big deal I will watch it again with you.
But am I overreacting on all of this? Is this normal?
Tldr: I feel disrespected in my relationship but am I overreacting

2024.05.15 19:23 UninterestedPirate "Vintage Vogue Revival: Strutting Grandparent Glam in Today's Gritty Fashion Streets!"

Oh, fashion, you fickle time-traveling siren! šŸ˜ Letā€™s warp back to the styles our grandparents strutted because, let's admit it, we're in the throes of a full-blown vintage resurgence, folks!
Alright, people, let's talk bullet points because that's how the cool cats organize their thoughts:
Laces out, frocks on! Ball gowns and lace are storming back onto the scene, not as costume but legitimate #OOTD. You might not be going to the ball, Cinderella, but who says you can't pick up your soy latte in style?
No, youā€™re not experiencing dĆ©jĆ  vuā€”those icons from the sepia-toned past are paving the way for the era-blending future:
Before you know it, shoulder pads and polyester suits might make a play for dominance. All kidding aside, we seem to be cherry-picking the best bits of past eras, melding them into the eccentric ensemble that is today's fashion tapestry.
So, thrifters and retro aficionados, rejoice! Wrap yourself in the lush velvets, slippery satins, and bodacious brocades of yesteryears and sashay down your supermarket aisles like it's Paris Fashion Week. The past is back, babyā€”and itā€™s got undeniable swagger. āœØšŸ‘ šŸ§µ

2024.05.15 19:09 ProwerTheFox 27 [M4F] U.K/Europe - Looking for that special someone

Hey there, my nameā€™s Tom and as my title suggests, Iā€™m a 27 year old white guy from the U.K, Iā€™m about 6ā€™2 (so Iā€™m good at reaching for things off high shelves when needed) and admittedly kinda chubby but itā€™s something Iā€™m working on. I donā€™t mind sharing pics once we get talking and a connection has been established, but anonymity is something thatā€™s quite important to me for the most part, also I do have kind of a baby-face just so youā€™re aware. Iā€™m an INFJ if that means anything to you. Iā€™ve got two dogs and will happily share pics of them. I will say Iā€™m fully monogamous and lean more towards wanting kids at some point in life, but Iā€™m in no rush to do so.
In terms of my personality, Iā€™m quite honest but without being overly blunt or rude, Iā€™m fiercely loyal, maybe even to the point where it becomes a negative. Iā€™d say Iā€™ve got a really good sense of humour which is mainly sarcastic, self-deprecating and can at times be incredibly dark but can throw the odd dad joke or shitty pun in when I think of a good one. Iā€™m very emotionally aware and not afraid to share how Iā€™m feeling, Iā€™m also a hopeless romantic Iā€™m looking for ā€˜the oneā€™ and nothing less. Iā€™d say my best trait is my ability to communicate, donā€™t get me wrong if I donā€™t really feel a spark it can feel like pulling teeth, but if there is a spark Iā€™m the type of guy that can hold a conversation for hours and to be honest I can usually tell instantly who I will and wonā€™t have a spark with.
Iā€™m a PC gamer and have built my own machine as well as a few others. Iā€™ve been playing a bit of Minecraft and messing around with a switch emulator over the last 2 weeks or so but do play other stuff as well. Itā€™d be cool if you also enjoyed playing games and wanted to play co-op/multiplayer stuff.
My biggest passion though is without a doubt music. Itā€™s something thatā€™s always been a part of my life, and itā€™s something I donā€™t think Iā€™d be the same without. My Spotify is my place of solace, itā€™s where I go when Iā€™m feeling down, when I need to think about the future or reflect on the past. Iā€™ve also started collecting CDs and vinyls this year and Iā€™ve got a good idea of what I want to buy already. In terms of music genres Iā€™m into Iā€™d say mainly rock, rap and a bit of indie. Off the top of my head a few artists I really like are; Panic at the Disco, Post Malone, Juice Wrld, The 1975, Bring me the Horizon, Nirvana, A Day to Remember and Tame Impala, so if youā€™re into similar music Iā€™ll have plenty of stuff to share with you.
One thing Iā€™ve got quite into over the past few years is typology. So Astrology, MBTI and that sort of thing, it fascinates me how certain people think, process information and situations in general life. I wonā€™t go into this too much because itā€™s not everyoneā€™s cup of tea, but if something youā€™ve never looked into, and it interests you Iā€™ll be happy to introduce you into it while we get to know each other.
Iā€™m also quite into the paranormal, more-so aliens/extraterrestrials and unsolved mysteries, I could probably find some interest in true crime, but honestly Iā€™ve never looked into any. Again, if youā€™re into that type of thing too, I could definitely recommend you a few documentaries on YouTube that are fascinating.
Itā€™s probably also worth noting I do struggle with my mental health and Iā€™ve also recently been diagnosed with high functioning autism, but I can go into that kinda stuff more if necessary
So if youā€™re still reading, Iā€™m going to assume youā€™re interested or just really enjoy short novels but if you could let me know what games youā€™re into or if youā€™re not a gamer just your favourite album/artist. Low effort replies get low effort conversation.

2024.05.15 17:33 Limp-Ad5985 My dad is a narcissist what should I do with my situation?

Iā€™m the oldest of six children. (F,F,M,M,M,M) Since I was a child my dad constantly compared me to my sister to the point we were constantly in competition. As we got older, the competition stopped at least on my side. My sister likes books and she reads a lot. She gets good grades and loves school. I like art and have many little hobbies, like crochet, painting, hair and beauty things. I get good grades as well, and extremely good at math but I never had the need to study a lot so I would read my books or study the night before a test because I remember things better that way. I was called lazy because of that. My dad favored my sister since she was interested in books like him. There would be times where my dad would says (in front of other people) my sister is his favorite. I would act like I donā€™t hear and would say it louder and ask me, you know youā€™re not my favorite right? All these hurt me incredibly in my teen years. I isolate a lot and struggle with boundaries with everyone in return. With all these things, he still call me when he needs something done. I planned many of his parties spending nights doing decorations because ā€œIā€™m good at itā€. Spending hours doing things he could do but decide to ask me. He never ask my sister because she would say no or Iā€™m busy. No matter how busy I am heā€™ll ask me to do something. I was uninvited to his graduation because I couldnā€™t drive him to work when his car was in the garage because I had a test and I still organized his entire graduation party and paid for multiple things. I couple days before the graduation, he accused me of stealing his money and not doing nothing for party. I told him not to call me that and I had everything planned and they were getting delivered the day of. This escalated and when my brother tried to stop him from coming at him he slapped me and kicked me and him out that night. That wasnā€™t the first time. Anytime I stand up to him, I get smacked and kicked out for the night. But that night I was determined not to ever deal with that again. A couple months later, me and my sister moved out to which he said we would not get the apartment and we would come back begging for him and when we do, we canā€™t come back. Thank God we got the apartment and moved out. Ever since heā€™s made it his mission to remind me he doesnā€™t need me and ā€œhe counts on my sister to step over in his elder yearsā€ the thing is I know for a fact my sister would rather put him in a nursing home than live with him, so I always I would but I donā€™t want to anymore. Weā€™ll see when heā€™s older and she says no. Now hereā€™s my situation, the last two boys are twins, weā€™ll call them G and M. Theyā€™re 7. G is like my sister, likes books and such. M likes sports and arts. So M is not the favorite. He gets called dumb and even his twin calls him that. He doesnā€™t want to stay home. Every weekend he comes to my apartment and spends the weekend with me. I have a two bedroom apartment so my sister has one room I have the other. He sleeps on the couch when he comes over. I donā€™t have a yard, a room for him, no toys nothing that children like. Yet every weekend he comes over, asks me to make food, eat and watch tv and sometimes we go to the pool or the park or Iā€™ll take him to get ice cream. Just little things. Every Sundays he cries when itā€™s time to go home. Even when I tell him Iā€™ll pick him up next Friday he still cries. I want to take him but I really canā€™t support him too. I have school and internship and a job but I donā€™t want him to go through what I went through. What can I go to help him so he doesnā€™t get hurt like I did?
Sorry itā€™s so long, I needed yā€™all to understand and I kind of wanted to vent a little too.

2024.05.15 15:52 NikolaiOlsen Here's a Pitch Meeting inspired post, If Ryan George ever was to make one

Producer: So, you have a video game for me?
Writer: Yes, sir, I do! It's a battle royale game called Fortnite.
Producer: Fork Knife? Is it a food-making game where you eat with a Fork and a Knife?
Writer: Well, No actually, sir, this is a shooter game where players are dropped onto an island where they must scavenge for weapons and resources inside people's homes while trying to be the last person standing.
Producer: Sounds a lot like that game PUBG.
Writer: Well, yes, it's Very similar to that.
Producer: So, Isn't that kind of a rip-off? Whats the point of making this game if its gonna be a Complete rip-off?
Writer: What if we give the player the ability to build stuff in the game?
Producer: Thats different enough. So how do we do the building in this Fork-knife game of yours?
Writer: Well, we add a building mechanic where players can gather materials and construct forts and other structures to defend themselves.
Producer: So, they can build in the middle of a fight?
Writer: They sure can!
Producer: Won't that make the combat complicated and kind of confusing?
Writer: Oh, definitely. Super confusing. And we're going to have this cartoony art style, so it's all bright and colorful.
Producer: Cartoony art style?
Writer: Yes, sir, we want to attract a younger audience, you know, kids and teenagers.
Producer: Really? And what about older players?
Writer: They'll probably play it too. Some might even play it so much while filming themselves sitting, eating, and drinking inside a room infront of a bunch of cameras to a bunch of digital people on some kind of streaming-platform out there. And some older players might even be so good that they can be placed inside a room with other players that are as good as them.
Producer: Okay, okay, But wait. Why would older players be interested in a game designed for kids?
Writer: Because it's free.
Producer: Oh, older people love free things.
Writer: And weā€™ll have these things called Emotes where players can dance and do fun gestures for no reason.
Producer: Why would they need that?
Writer: To taunt other players and express themselves, and making it easier for other players to get kills!
Producer: And we're sure kids will love this?
Writer: Oh, absolutely. They'll be flossing in no time.
Producer: Whatā€™s flossing?
Writer: Itā€™s one of the dances that weā€™ll include in the game.
Producer: Ah, okay, and how will we make money?
Writer: Super easy, barely an inconvenience.
Producer: How come?
Writer: Microtransactions.
Producer: Microtransactions?
Writer*: Yeah, Microtransactions. Players can buy this thing called V-Bucks, which is our in-game currency, to get skins, emotes, and other cosmetic items.
Producer: So, none of these items give players a competitive advantage?
Writer: Nope, just cosmetics.
Producer: And people will spend real money on that?
Writer: Oh, they definitely will.
Producer: How are you so sure?
Writer: Because weā€™ll make it really cool and hard to resist. Plus, we'll create this thing called FOMO.
Producer: FOMO?
Writer: Fear of Missing Out. Weā€™ll have limited-time items so players feel pressured to buy them before they're gone.
Producer: So, weā€™re going to exploit psychological weaknesses?
Writer: Oh, for sure.
Producer: Exploiting psychological weaknesses is tight! So, how will players get to the Island?
Writer: Theyā€™ll skydive from a flying bus.
Producer: A flying bus?
Writer: Yeah, weā€™ll call it the Battle Bus.
Producer: Why would a bus be flying?
Writer: Because it's fun.
Producer: But How does it fly tho?
Writer: Listen, sir, i'm gonna need you to get all the way off my back about why the Battle Bus can fly using a very big sketchy pop-able baloon but only moves one direction, okay.
Producer: Okay, let me get off of that thing.
Writer: Oh, and every few minutes, a storm will shrink the play area, forcing players into a smaller and smaller circle until one player remains.
Producer: Why would a storm do that?
Writer: To make the game faster and more intense.
Producer: But thats not--- never mind.
Writer: And weā€™ll have different game modes, including solo, duo, and squads, so players can team up with friends.
Producer: What if players donā€™t have friends?
Writer: Then theyā€™ll be loners. Solo mode is perfect for that.
Producer: And how will we keep the game fresh?
Writer: We'll have seasonal updates with new themes, items, and challenges.
Producer: Seasonal updates?
Writer: Plus, weā€™ll add crossover events with popular franchises from all our child hoods we can think off.
Producer: Like what?
Writer: Well, i'm just gonna throw some names out there, just top of my head, *Marvel, Star Wars, DC, Avatar, Family Guy, TMNT, POTC, Rick and Morty, and a Whole bunch of other stuff.
Producer: So, weā€™re going to have superheroes and nerds fighting each other in a game where you can build forts and dance?
Writer: Exactly.
Producer: That sounds amazing!
Writer: Oh, itā€™s going to be super amazing.
Producer: And that's Fortnite. So, what do you think?
Writer: I think weā€™ll make billions.
Producer: We're gonna be rich!
Producer: Wow, wow, wow. Wow.
Producer: But wait, you forgot to say whatā€™s the story behind this game?
Writer: Oh, right, well, the island is constantly changing and evolving. At first, there isn't much backstory, only younger and older players ACTIVELY hunting each other down and killing each other, but over time, we introduce a series of events and lore that shape the game's world.
Producer: Interesting. What kind of events and lore are we talking about?
Writer: Well, Each season, we add new story elements to the game. For example, there's this mysterious organization called "The Imagined Order" that's manipulating the island. Players uncover clues and secrets about them as the game progresses.
Producer: So, there are hidden stories and mysteries?
Writer: Exactly. One season, we had a massive meteor strike that changed the landscape. Another season, a giant iceberg crashed into the island, bringing new areas to explore. We also introduced a volcanic eruption that altered the terrain significantly.
Producer: Sounds like a lot of natural disasters.
Writer: Ye ye ye. But all these events tie into the overarching narrative. There's this powerful artifact called the Zero Point at the center of the island, and it's the source of all these changes.
Producer: Whatā€™s the Zero Point?
Writer: It's a mysterious energy source that can manipulate time and space. Different factions and characters try to control it, leading to conflicts and alliances.
Producer: Who are these characters?
Writer: We've introduced various characters over time, like Jonesy, who starts as a standard avatar but becomes central to the story. Heā€™s sort of the playerā€™s guide and gets involved in all the major events.
Producer: And these characters, they have backstories?
Writer: Yes, each character has their own backstory and motives. Some are heroes trying to save the island, others are villains seeking power. We add new characters regularly to keep things fresh and engaging.
Producer: How do players learn about all this?
Writer: Through in-game events, cutscenes, and quests. For instance, we might have a live event where something dramatic happens, like a giant robot fighting a monster. These events often change the map and advance the storyline.
Producer: Live events? How do those work?
Writer: At specific times, we host live events where players can participate or just watch something big unfold. These events are usually massive, with millions of players logging in to witness them.
Producer: That sounds like a logistical nightmare.
Writer: It can be, but it creates a shared experience that players love. It's a huge part of what keeps the community engaged.
Producer: So, the story is dynamic and ever-changing?
Writer: Exactly. We keep evolving the narrative with each season, adding new mysteries and plot twists. It's like an ongoing TV show where the players are part of the story.
Producer: And this keeps players coming back?
Writer: Absolutely. The evolving story and frequent updates make sure there's always something new to discover and experience.
Producer: Sounds like youā€™ve thought of everything.
Writer: Weā€™ve tried to make it as immersive and engaging as possible. The story is just one part of what makes Fortnite a unique and exciting game.
Producer: Well, Iā€™m sold. Letā€™s make this game!

https://sellyourconstructionequipment.com/tips-to-be-consider-when-buying-new-skid-steer-loaders-heavy-equipment/
What are the thigs to be consider in buying Skid Steer Loaders? Skid steer loaders are an indispensable piece of heavy machinery for any fleet because they provide tremendous adaptability in a small package. Make sure the new skid steer loader you purchase meets your needs in terms of size, performance, features, choices, and specs. Your workplace will remain productive with the aid of this engine. Here are some crucial considerations when purchasing new skid steer loaders. Buying New Skid Steer Loaders: Some Advice
https://preview.redd.it/f6qw7fpx7l0d1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=a7461a0a324550c32f415a3942c730a668f9a2d1
Select the frameā€™s dimensions. Small, medium, or large frames are available for skid steer loaders. What the engine is capable of depends on the size of the frame. For instance, you can require a huge frame if the elevator is long, or a little frame if there isnā€™t much room at work. Check the storage and transportation capacities as well. Examine the torque. This criterion, contrary to popular assumption, is more important than skid power. Torque, on the other hand, indicates an engineā€™s true power and goes beyond just how fast it runs. The majority of the time, servicing the machine is possible with a basic hydraulic shear kit. However, a higher flow hydraulic system was advantageous in some applications. Ask your dealer if you require supplemental hydraulics, inquire about accessories, and discuss the work being done on this equipment. Select from radial or vertical lift devices. In general, radial skid steer loaders perform better when digging and working on the ground. In comparison, vertical lift skid steer loaders can frequently handle heavier loads and insects, making them better suited for lifting and laying tasks. Purchase a cozy cab. A comfortable working environment increases safety, productivity, and job satisfaction. Discover features like incredibly responsive controls, creative control layouts, and ergonomic design. Go to the extras page. The numerous choices available on modern skid-steer loaders increase their safety, effectiveness, and user-friendliness. The optional features that best suit your demands and budget should be discussed with your reseller. Purchase from a reputable dealer with top-notch maintenance agreements and guarantees. When purchasing your investment in heavy machinery, the correct vendor means getting individualized guidance and protection. Work with a reputable supplier that has a long history of providing quality products, timely delivery of parts and components, and production-trained mechanics for in-store and on-site servicesā€”Place for maintenance prevention and repair. When you buy from a reputable company like Trekker, your move will be safe, effective, and reasonably priced thanks to the best equipment and dependable maintenance.

2024.05.15 14:49 qgfx scalping / risk reward ratio

The world is built upon a negative risk/reward ratio. Reverse RR is how the world functions.
Itā€™ll work in trading too, itā€™s just every guy selling a course will claim itā€™s impossible because a positive RR is the easier sell. Just do 1:2 and bam!You can be wrong most the time and still make money! Never mind that they totally forgot to mention the inverse relationship between win rate and risk reward.
If you buy virtually anything to resell, you risk the entire thing and usually you donā€™t double your money. Usually u increase your worth by about 15%.
If you buy the S and P 500, it will go up about 10%. You risked everything to make 10% a year. That is reverse RR
Services like insurance make their money on a bunch of small wins.
You pay them $2,000 - they pay you $500,000 when a building collapses. This is a negative risk reward for insurance companies. They risk $500,000 to make $2,000
A casino will risk giving you millions to take your penny. If the trading logic applied to a casino, they wouldnā€™t get a single customer.
Nigeria produce 100,000 children to produce 1 rocket scientist.
The world is reverse RR based.
So could this work in trading - yes. If your take profit is 2%, your stop loss could be 10% and you can just be more right than wrong.

2024.05.15 13:58 up--Yours [DIY server build]: sync two PSU without 24pin connector?

Hello there,

Context:

Im rebuilding the neighbor's kid's laptop to a server and i need your help on a matter regarding power supplies. He obviously want to do it on a budget. I'm trying my best to help with the budget without him knowing as well šŸ˜…ā˜ŗļø.

The problem:

I disassembled my old laptop and removed the motherboard to convert it into a small server. I also got a mini PCIe SATA expansion card with 4 SATA ports to connect HDDs. The mini pcie is placed instead of the wifi card.
For power, I have an old 12V 15A brick power supply with a circular output (dont know the special connector name) while the laptops will use their original charger that outputs 19v 3A. The laptop operates without a battery and is connected to the charger 24/7. the PSUs (the laptop charger + the brick power supply) would share the same 220v input from the same socket using a common c14 inlet.
However, I'm having trouble syncing the two power supplies. By sync i mean make the hdd power supply power upon powering the laptop šŸ‘ā˜ŗļø. Turning the on button would turn both PSUs but if for whatever reason the laptop does a soft shutdown (software guided shutdown - sudo shutdown now) the hdd psu would still be on providing the hdd with constant power.
Same applies on soft start up such wake on lan ā˜ŗļø.
The add2psu solves this exact problem by getting a signal from 15 pin sata from the main motherboard to signal to the secondary psu to turn off/on.
The add2psu requires a 24-pin connector from the secondary PSU, which the brick psu doesn't have..
Any suggestions on how to sync these power supplies without a 24-pin connector?
The only solution that i see is to buy a cheap pc power supply and use it to power the hdd. But the case he chose is very limited on size šŸ„².

how you can help?

Suggest a solution. Avoid discouraging arguments such as whyyy just buy new server!". He loves hardware problems we both are learning a lot and i want to encourage him to solve problems ā˜ŗļøšŸ‘
Thanks for the help in advance šŸ™‚
Edit: small question one the side: the hdds require only 12v or 12v & 5v? As far as i know hdd would work fine on 12v or am i mistaken?

2024.05.15 13:11 dinga_dong- 5 features of chatgpt 4o according to openai

Recently, OpenAI released ChatGPT 4o, a new version of their popular language model. This update brings some exciting features along withitā€™s capability to analyze video and images realtime. Here is a shortened version of the use cases of ChatGPT 4o.
https://reddit.com/link/1csi7eb/video/ap0tsjs3pk0d1/player
1. Visual Analysis and Insights:
The main feature of ChatGPT 4o is it goes beyond just language. It can analyze images and video and provide real-time insights. Share an image during a conversation, and the AI will describe its contents, identify objects, and offer relevant information. In the demo you can see it guiding a visually impaired person realtime. Although itā€™s just a demo (made me remember devin) but this feature is very exciting and promising.
2. Realtime Translation:
Communication across languages is a challenge while using AIs. While these AIs can communicate and response with excellent English but same canā€™t be said for other lesser used Languages in the web. Itā€™s expected as the web is primarily English. ChatGPT 4o solves this by offering real-time translation capabilities. You can now have conversations with people who speak different languages, with the AI seamlessly translating the conversation for smooth and efficient interaction. This is particularly helpful for international business, academic collaborations or me who often translates social media posts to English.
3. Meeting Assistant:
Meetings often feel unproductive and time-consuming. According to OpenAI, ChatGPT 4o can change that by acting as a virtual meeting assistant. It can help organize agendas, take notes, and summarize key points while the meeting is happening. Additionally, it can suggest action items, follow-ups, and next steps, ensuring meetings are focused and productive for all participants. All these are from demos, I did not use the AI for this purpose yet so I cannot bouch here.
4. 3D Objects:
As I mentioned before, ChatGPT 4o's impressive skillset extends to vision and 3D analysis. It offers the capability of 3D object synthesis, allowing users to generate and manipulate three-dimensional models. Through textual descriptions or prompts, users can instruct ChatGPT 4o to create detailed 3D objects. In a demo OpenAIā€™s logo was created with the company name as a 3D object by a simple prompt.
5. Explain Complex Topics:
ChatGPT 4o can act as a real-time tutor, engaging in conversations to explain complex topics. OpenAI released a video demo where the AI is teaching math realtime. It can solve math problems and explain how to approach a problem. It can break down concepts step-by-step, offer personalized guidance, and provide immediate feedback on your work. I am not confident that it can solve much complex problems but the demos are promising.
What do you think of these features? For me personally, itā€™s a step forward from just textual LLM models. Iā€™ve wrote indetails of the new ChatGPT 4o in my newsletter. Consider subscribing to my newsletter to get more of these tutorials and case studies on prompting. Subscribe here. Visit seekme.ai to browse thousands of useful AI tools

2024.05.15 12:48 brunoandraus Wipe system and longevity of this game

Hello fellow operators!
Iā€™ve been playing this game nonstop since the start of the beta and something is worrying me a lot. I am LOVING the game, but i dont really see how it can survive without a wipe system. Let me start by saying that me and my buddies have 1k+ hours each on tarkov, and the other day we were talking about how many QoL this game has over tarkov etc, and suddenly someone said ā€˜yes, but it has no wipe systemā€™. It naturally came as a shock to us since we all know for a fact that if it wasnt for the wipe system, tarkov wouldā€™ve died a long time ago.
I think the great things about this type of game are the adrenaline rush and dopamine that we get from being afraid to die and lose everything, finding crazy and/or rare loot, etc. Once we are filthy rich and have all the gear we want/need the game becomes boring!
Yes i understand the mobile version is around for 1.5 years without a wipe, but that is an entirely different market, with entirely different needs and wishes. The PC community is REALLY not like the mobile (i hope they realize that). We have a LOT of great games to choose and i dont think weā€™ll stick to something that got ā€˜boringā€™.
It is a very well known fact that tarkov loses more and more active players the further into the wipe it goes, and when it wipes, most ppl AND new ppl are back online. Thatā€™s not my opinion, itā€™s a fact. So.. how Will this game survive without a wipe system? I really cant think of how and i am hoping that they move away from the no wipe system of the Mobile version.
Please, share your thoughts with respect. No need to be defensive or agressive about it. We all want whatā€™s best for this game to thrive!
TLDR: me and my buddies dont see how a game in this genre can survive without a wipe. What do you think?

2024.05.15 12:25 x_lumi Advice: going on vacation w/ partner

Hey everybody,
I have been dating my gf for a year and a half now and in September we're planning to go on a trip together. We've had a few weekend visits to different cities, but nothing far and nothing where I felt like I couldn't leave if it's too much. Now, we're talking about maybe going to another country and discussing maybe spending two weeks together. We get a long really well, we love each other and our communication feels safe and reliable.
The problem is: my body fucking hates it. The close proximity, sharing a bed for more than one or two nights, feeling like I depend on the other person, having to interact almost constantly, the amount of physical touch... I just cannot handle it. I get nightmares, I can't eat anymore, I feel nauseous and it can escalate to full on flue like symptoms, constant pain and body flashbacks. I become extremely avoidant as soon as we're alone (to the point of not being able to look her in the eye anymore and sleeping fully clothed) and sometimes become really silent and distracted. All of which are just so fun when you're trying to relax on vacation and such an amazing experience to have within a relationship that usually functions well and is very loving. I get super conflicting emotions and, maybe the worst part, can barely hide how happy I am when we're finally on our way home... After the trips, it takes me two or three full days to get back in touch with myself and to get out of a state of panic and hypervigilance. It gets slightly better from time to time but if the trip would happen tomorrow, I'm 100% confident it would retraumatise me and end the relationship.
Now. The not-trauma-part of my brain really, really wants this and I am generally willing to deal with whatever to make this or a version of this happen, that's why I'm starting now to prepare and to come up with new strategies. I'm also talking to my therapist about it and with the gf as well. I would love to hear some of your experiences and how you navigate an extreme fear of intimacy/closeness in situations where you kinda have to be close. Thanks, any answer is appreciated. <3

2024.05.15 11:12 Hotsausagerolls11 AITA FOR HATING MY ONLY LIVING BROTHER?

So for context I (21F) am the youngest of 6 siblings and when my eldest sibling, (my brother) turned 21 he died only days later in a car accident. Although this was quite some time ago. But of course coming from a big family it was difficult and completely devastating. All my siblings are 2 years apart from one another but due to how blended my family is Iā€™m 7 years apart from the 5th sibling, who for this story Iā€™ll call James (29M). Now this story may be long and a bit confusing but please bare with me as I try my best to write it. James and I are the one who are 7 years apart. We do not share the same dad, however he calls my dad ā€œdadā€ and my father helped raise him and is on his birth certificate. After losing my eldest brother my mum and dads health declined rapidly. My mum had open heart surgery and my dad had 5 brain surgeryā€™s. My mum to this day has never really recovered.
Now I know hate is a strong word, especially to describe your own brother but EVERYTHING my brother does just infuriates me. So hereā€™s where I could be the A-hole.
Thereā€™s not one specific reason as to why I feel this way about my brother but Iā€™ll try my best to explain. When I was 16 and James was 24, within a year he slept with 2 of my best friends who were only 17 at the time. I did not find out about this until they had already turned 18. He would steal the family electronics to pawn them for money because he was spending all his money on alcohol and drugs. If he was ever confronted about these things he would ALWAYS LIE. When I was younger and not working my parents used to give me any of their coins and I would save for the whole year so I could go to our local show (fair). Given we had such a big family and I couldnā€™t work I thought if I could save for the year it was one less stress on my parents. One year James stole EVERY penny a week out from the show (fair), I couldnā€™t go that year (he stole around $150AUD) .
Now a lot of these times my brother would just get away with it all because everyone felt bad for him or because he had a way of charming people and they would just pretend it never happened. Almost all of his previous relationships ended physically but he calls them all ā€œcrazyā€ to justify his poor behaviour. When I turned 18 and was living with my parents we were to pay board, so we could help them rent and any bills they had. Around a year ago we started buying our own groceries and cooking our own food. This was just so our parents could prepare us for the ā€œreal worldā€. Which in all honesty Iā€™m so glad they did because it helped me tremendously! However my brother proceeds to eat everyone elseā€™s food and not contribute to bills, despite having a well paying job. We even went as far as having designated selves and labelling things. Despite this, just the other week he ate mine and my boyfriendā€™s leftovers and then put the empty container back in the fridge!
Now I wonā€™t ramble on too much longer but the worse thing of all is the way he treats my parents. All my other siblings have moved out so itā€™s just me and James living with parents. My mum being as sick as she is, is unfortunately the target to all of my brothers unwarranted out bursts. He yells at her and tells her ā€œyou just wish it was me in that carā€ referring to my brother who died and ā€œIā€™ll just go kms and then youā€™ll have no son leftā€. My dad is less vocal during confrontational times but when he is involved James goes from calling him ā€œdadā€ to calling him his actual name.
With all that said, that was barely a glimpse of what Iā€™ve had to deal with. I used to come up with every excuse to justify all the things james has done. But now when I look at him or he tries to talk to me I truly canā€™t stand him. Personally I have never met a more arrogant and manipulative person. I can no longer make excuses for him. It breaks my heart to think of my brother like this but I feel like the a-hole because at the end of the day heā€™s family. So AITA?

2024.05.15 10:38 maxi242424 I created free AI-powered prompt automation platform

Hey SideHuslers!
Iā€™m so excited to tell you about a special project Iā€™ve been working on called Finderr. Itā€™s like a magic tool that helps people do their jobs quickly and easily!
You can see it here on the computer: Finderr - Your AI Magic Helper - and guess what? Anyone can try it for free for a whole week!
I made Finderr to help people talk to each other in the app, and even have a smart helper inside that can answer questions for them!
It can also find lots of information from different places and put it all together, kind of like how you might gather toys from around your room to play.
Iā€™m also adding some new tricks to Finderr, like working with other tools that grown-ups use for work, like HubSpot!
What kind of fun things do you think I should add to Finderr next? I would really love to know what you think because it helps me make Finderr even better!
Can't wait to hear your cool ideas!

2024.05.15 10:30 Pigik83 What is a web unblocker and how does it work?

Hey everyone!
I recently dove deep into the fascinating world of web unblockers and thought I'd share some insights that might just change how you see internet restrictions and web scraping. You might already know that web unblockers are like secret passageways that let you sneak past internet censorship or geofencing. Think of them as VPNs on steroids, allowing not just encrypted data transfer for privacy but also unrestricted browsing freedom.
But here's where it gets really interesting, especially for folks in the web scraping arena. Web unblockers serve as these powerful APIs designed to outsmart anti-bot protections. Theyā€™re like the ninjas of the internet, using tactics such as IP rotation, browser fingerprinting, CAPTCHA solving, and even Javascript rendering to access the data we need.
Now, you might think a proxy does the job by changing your IP address. But web unblockers? They're the whole package, offering a bunch more than just a disguise. Yet, it's not all smooth sailing. No single web unblocker can claim victory over every anti-bot mechanism out there. Tech giants like Cloudflare are in constant evolution, crafting more complex defenses to keep bots at bay.
This is exactly why I conducted the Great Web Unblocker Benchmark. It's a showdown to see how different web unblockers stack up against the toughest anti-bot solutions in the wild. Sure, there's a price tag attached to these unblockers, but picking the right one isn't just about spending moneyā€”it's about investing in seamless data access for our projects.
In the end, the key takeaway is weighing the cost against the potential to maintain an uninterrupted data flow for our customers. Let's keep pushing the envelope and finding the best tools to navigate these challenges together.
Cheers to an open and accessible web for all our scraping needs!
