General Information
A current concise definition of Mindcrack is "A group of friends and content creators founded in 2010 who come together for gaming content and regular charity events, primarily based on Twitch."
Mindcrack currently has 24 official members with 18 active as content creators, and around 19 Friends/VIPs active in the group, though there is no official list on who all is considered a Friend. Mindcrackers and Friends are essentially the same and differ only in name.
The latest member to join officially was OMGChad on the 31st of October, 2014, and the latest member to leave was BTC (BlameTheController) on the 12th of November, 2015, however these stats are somewhat misleading. For the last 12.5 years there has been a steady stream of new friends that each gradually became part of the group as well as some that parted ways, for the first 5 years these had specific dates tied to when they officially joined and left, but since then the newcomers have gradually become active within the group in the same way without being tied to any single date for various reasons. Thus, the latest person to become a part of the group is difficult to pinpoint.
Charity
There have been ten full Mindcrack Marathons to date and a multitude of other charity efforts, both from individuals and the full group. In total Mindcrack has raised over $2,088,731.75 for others through their group fundraising streams since 2013, of which $1,955,259.30 has been for the charity Extra Life (totals missing $0-5K). The latest full marathon was on November 14-20 and ran for 88 hours, raising $128,386.51 for Extra Life.
A complete list of all totals raised during Mindcrack group fundraising streams can be found here, the source message is pinned in the Mindcrack Discord and regularly updated.
The most recent charity event was held two months ago for Extra Life and was Mindcrack's first time running Extra Life United, the annual gathering in Orlando where Extra Life gamers come together to connect with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and participate in a variety of tournaments. For ELU 2023 Mindcrack hosted the entire event, running the gaming tournaments, stage entertainment, and the official stream which was essentially a spring Mindcrack Marathon. ELU 2023 also featured the return of the Minecraft Building Competition, and Pakratt led team Mindcrack to another 1st place finish against 5 other teams despite an ill-timed computer failure, earning $10,000 for the team’s hospitals.
The Mindcrack Patreon has now been supporting Mindcrack's charity efforts for over 3 years, allowing the marathon to grow in size and production quality. Currently the Patreon has 267 Patrons pledging $2,370 per month, with 59 Patrons on the $25 tier, 1 on the $500 tier, and the rest split between $5 and $10.
Kurt's Far Lands or Bust journey has continued on as always, with Season 10 currently coming to a close after a 54 day FLoB-a-Thon filled with adventures and over 1.5 million blocks traveled in just over a year. He is currently at 7,396,358 blocks traveled towards the Far Lands as of May 15th, 2023, sitting at 58.9% of the way there. The latest numbered episode was #847 on May 30th, 2023. The series has raised $472,939.92 for 7 different charities since 2011, however Season 10 did not end up supporting a charity.
MCGamer and the Zeldathon Team have raised $3,203,023 for 12 different charities during their 34 charity events. The latest Zeldathon was Zeldathon Daybreak which raised $125,800.00 for Direct Relief from August 2nd-8th, 2022, and they also held Side Quest: Dampe’s Twilight Tour! for Halloween from October 28th-31st which raised $12,600 for Gamers Outreach, their first time supporting the charity. The next Zeldathon will be Zeldathon Echoes, scheduled to start on July 6th raising money for charity: water.
There's also a multitude of individual charity efforts in Mindcrack; several people in the group hold streams supporting their individual Extra Life campaigns, and there's frequently one-off streams for various charities, such as Taffy’s recent subathon for St. Jude and Extra Life’s Dungeons & Dragons stream last month which Aurey joined. A complete list wouldn't be feasible to collect, but their efforts are greatly appreciated. In total everyone in the group has raised over $6 million for charity over the years.
Regular Series
The Mindcrack Podcast is hosted by Sevadus and Guude releasing two episodes every week, consisting of a public episode every Monday and a Patron-exclusive episode every Thursday. Additionally, Patrons at the $25 tier can watch the recordings live with live chat. The latest public episode was S2E135 which released today on June 5, 2023, and the latest premium episode was episode 134 released on May 25, 2023.
Cone, Kurt, and Zeekay host the podcast Ran When Parked which normally releases new episodes every other week, the latest episode was episode 94, however there hasn’t been a new episode in 2 months.
As of tonight Coestar's StreamADay is sitting at Day 3,471, and Phedran's daily streaming streak is on Day 2,072. Coe still holds the second longest daily streaming streak on Twitch as he approaches the ten year mark.
In the last year Subathons have really picked up, with Arkas, DumbDog, Guude, Justin, Kurt, McLaffyTaffy, Millbee, and OMGchad each having at least one, as well as many one or two day marathon streams from others, and they have resulted in many collabs within the group. Another recent fad is IRL streaming, with several in the group getting dedicated mobile streaming setups to go out in the world and stream, and Guude has almost entirely replaced his gaming content with IRL streams recently.
A large number of limited collabs appeared in the last year which aren’t currently running, most notably Mario Kart Mondays returned as a one-off appearance, the Bike Dads returned for a short period starting in the very same week, and DumbDog brought back The Checkpoint League for S2 which included Chiblee, Jaaski, and Justin. TFC Tuesday is also currently on hiatus. There are also a variety of collabs which frequently make appearances without a set schedule, including games such as Mahjong Soul and Mario Party.
The following is a list of the more stable weekly collab series within Mindcrack currently:
- Armo, Breon, Coestar, Kingster, and occasionally Ryuski play PUBG for Sunday Gunday every week, and PUBG also makes frequent appearances throughout the week with other squad combinations.
- Breon, Mhykol, and Ryuski are joined by Fortain and Omnirach every Tuesday playing games together, currently playing Space Engineers after previously playing Minecraft: Legends.
- Monday Group Games have just recently returned on Tuesdays, with several Friends and Staff playing Among Us with the Mindcrack community.
- Coestar and Guude's Two Bananas for Sale continues as always after recently hitting their 5 year anniversary, playing games together or with Patrons every Friday night. Their joint Patreon currently raises $584 per month thanks to 34 Patrons.
- Arkas, Guude, Nebris, and Pakratt continue to play Divine Journey 2 every other Saturday and just passed their 8-year anniversary playing together, however their sessions have been inconsistent since the start of the series.
- Pause and Beef have once again joined with Etho for a new Team Canada series recently, playing the Minecraft CTM map Starblight Desert.
- Guude and JSano, known as Guano, still regularly upload GeoGuessr videos on YouTube.
Servers
Season 9 of the Minecraft vanilla server is currently ongoing, but Season 10 is expected to start in the very near future after the release of 1.20, and the final server tours are already taking place. The current season started on December 11th, 2021, and the server is running on 1.19.4 with some extra plug-ins to allow $25 tier Patrons on the server. This season has had approximately 789.5 hours streamed by Mindcrack so far; the latest stream was by Soccer on January 15th. Mhykol hosts a server map at https://mindcrackmap.com using BlueMap.
The most recent full modded server was Crackpack Season 4, Mindcrack's 7th modded season which was active from November 2019 until January 2020.
Dadcraft’s most recent server was Minecraft Vault Hunters; Chiblee, DumbDog, Jaaski, and Justin joined others on the server earlier this year.
Adlington, Arkas, Cone, Dire, Doc, Kurt, Phedran, and VintageBeef all have fan servers for Twitch subs and/or Patrons, but some might not be active at the moment.
Ultra Hardcore (UHC)
There have been 33+32 (Thirty-one donation UHCs and S4b) seasons of Mindcrack UHC.
Breon, Coestar, ConeDodger, and Kingster are the winners of the latest UHC season, Season 33, which was streamed on the 26th of February, 2022.
Amethyst, BigGiantCircles, and HonneyPlay are the winners of the latest donation UHC, the 31st of its kind, which was streamed on the 20th of November.
PauseUnpause is the most deadly player in regular UHCs with 36 kills, and Arkas and Coestar are tied for the most deadly player in donation UHCs with 38 kills each. Nebris and VintageBeef are tied for the most wins in regular UHCs with 9, and Kurt has the most wins in charity UHCs with 7. (Latest UHC stats by Guardax)
Seasons can be categorized as follows: 24 teams of four, 15 teams of two, 14 teams of three, 8 free-for-all, 2 PvE, 1 teams of five, 1 teams of ten.
This was the first year since 2015 without a spring charity UHC, as running Extra Life United took precedence.

In the last year there were approximately 32,950 hours streamed on Twitch by about 41 Members and Friends, with 2,880 combined hours streamed during last month. During that year there were 875 unique categories streamed and 3,589,000 hours watched on Twitch which is equal to 410 years.
The most streamed games in order were Minecraft, PUBG, Words on Stream, PlateUp!, and Noita. Minecraft had the most streamers with 32, most hours streamed with 4,994, and second most hours watched with 427,540; the category Just Chatting was also among the most streamed and had the most hours watched with 561,200, and Travel & Outdoors and Special Events were also among the top.
Here's a chart showing monthly hours streamed by Mindcrack members from August 2015 to May 2023; here's a similar chart with Friends added starting May 2020.
According to the Mindcrack website, the total YouTube subscribers across all official Mindcrackers is 9,042,471, the total number of videos is 71,787, and the total views is 2,418,417,594. The website hasn't been updated in years and these numbers have not changed since the last time capsule, so they are at least one year out of date.
The total member count across public Discord servers in Mindcrack is 27,789 which includes significant overlap(13,537 for just Mindcrack Members). In total there's been approximately 10,587,460 messages sent across all 36 servers including from bots, but I don't have numbers from every server. Cone’s Discord has overtaken Coe’s as by far the most active server, with over 340,000 messages in the last year alone.
SethBling is the most subscribed on YouTube with 2 million subscribers as well as the most followed on Twitter with 360,297 followers. Sevadus has the most Twitch followers with 410,340 followers. Darkosto has the largest Discord server with 8,299 members, and among the Mindcrack Members OMGchad has the largest with 1,955 members.
Subreddit
mindcrack has approximately 45,000 subscribers. Discord servers and Twitch chats are the primary places the active Mindcrack community's interactions are based, so the subreddit sees minimal activity.
The Moderator Team of mindcrack consists of 10 humans and 2 bots: GuudeBoulderfist, pakratt0013, stinusmeret, Zisteau, pajam, Lost-Chord, Compieuter, ArmoAram, stevetheclimber, emilythecool, MindcrackTwitchBot, and CrackBot / AutoModerator.
This is the subreddit today using old Reddit (Picture Version), and this is the same page using the redesign (Picture Version).
Here’s the current flair selection which has not been updated recently, and here are the subreddit’s traffic stats which are normally only viewable by mods.
Miscellaneous
Docm77 and VintageBeef are also members of HermitCraft, and Arkas, Chiblee, Coestar, Jaaski, Justin, and Pause are all members of Dadcraft. After making a game on the HermitCraft server, Beef recently released a physical trading card game available for purchase.
SethBling currently holds 2nd place for the Super Mario World 0 Exit speedrun with a time of 41.350 seconds. He also holds records for several speedrun categories he created. In December Chiblee got the world record for time to first WooHoo in The Sims 4 without expansions with a time of 24.410 seconds; this has since been pushed back to 2nd place.
In the lives of the Mindcrackers and Friends there’s been many changes over the last year; Sevadus and Trent’s wedding will be later this month with other Mindcrackers attending, others in the group have started dating, there’s been many new pets across Mindcrack, and there’s been lots of travel and a bit of moving, including Pakratt and Honney who are currently in the middle of moving. Because of changes in the economy, some people in the group have gotten new jobs and slowed down their content.
Throughout the year many people in the group have met up in a variety of places which has seemingly become more prominent thanks to an increase in IRL streaming. Some of these were just meeting as friends such as Mhykol driving to Breon’s place or Soccer and Shelbs visiting Arkas, while others were for Mindcrack events such as ELU where many of them stayed extra days and streamed local activities together.
There have been no public updates in the last year on Mindcrack's progress towards becoming a non-profit that's publicly been in the works for years. This long transition period is seemingly one of the main reasons that new Mindcrackers haven’t been added recently, as the definition of membership was always anticipated to be changing soon and in essence already changed years ago.
Community Contributions
u/Omegatron9 has kept his spreadsheet and graphs on YouTube subscribers up to date.
The events of Mindcrack's first 10 years are covered in my History of Mindcrack written in 2020.
Some spreadsheets I have with stats:
Thanks to Guardax and memnarch for providing Discord numbers.

Hi everyone, submitted by sylvanito60 to hackintosh [link] [comments] I am trying to get my Alienware Area 51 R2 working again with mac os. Config:- Alienware Area 51 R2- X99 chipset- Intel Xeon E5 2683 v4 16c 32v previously Intel i7 5930k- MSR E2 disabled- 32 GB RAM DDR4 non-ECC 2400Mhz- AMD Radeon VII GPU Context:Before upgrading my CPU, I was able to boot onto Windows and Mac Os Monterey without any problems. But since I have changed the CPU, Windows working without any problem but it's impossible for me to boot onto Mac OS again. I tried a lot of differents configurations, getting back to clover, building a new opencore efi from scratch, modifying bios settings ...Nothing change. I hope i've missed something obvious that you can point to.Attached, you can find the OC debug txt. “So poor Buu’s all upset! I guess he doesn’t like havin’ to fight the most powerful being in the universe! WA HA HA!”Gotenks is a fusion warrior resulting from Goten and Trunks using the Metamoran fusion dance. Gotenks takes the cockiness and arrogance of Trunks and the joyful and playful attitude of Goten to form an extremely immature and vain, yet mighty, fighter.

2023.11.05 06:12 bangalorefiles Unveiling the Truth Behind RMZ EcoWorld/Adarsh's Traffic Woes and Environmental Clearances
Residents and office goers of RMZ Ecoworld /Adarsh Palm retreat have been a victim of traffic chaos for quite some time now. While the issue is not new, recent revelations surrounding the environmental clearance approvals for a new building behind Honeywell building have raised questions about the truthfulness of certain claims made by the developer of the tech park. In this blog post, we will examine two specific lies that came to light during the approval process and discuss the potential consequences of these falsehoods for the community. This is a series of posts exposing the reasons for poor urban planning in the Bellandur area. submitted by bangalorefiles to bangalore [link] [comments] Untruth 1: Alleged Tech Park Vehicle Access One of the builder's claims that raised eyebrows during the environmental clearance process was the assertion that Adarsh Villas allow tech park vehicles to enter and exit from their private villa compound. While it is true that the roads in question are public roads encroached upon by the Villa association as private roads, it has never been the case that non-villa vehicles were allowed to use them. This claim was seemingly made to show that traffic was already being distributed across multiple roads within the complex. However, the reality is that this access has never been a reality, and residents have always maintained the exclusivity of these roads for villa owners. To resolve the traffic issue, the responsible authorities should consider enforcing the claimed access and ensure that it becomes a reality, thereby potentially alleviating the traffic problems in the area. Untruth 2: The Nonexistent Road through Saul Kere Another claim made by the builder to bolster their case for environmental clearances was the existence of a road through Saul Kere (Lake). This, too, was a falsehood. There is no such road, and this lie further underscores the lack of transparency in the approval process. The builder's intent may have been to suggest that traffic would be distributed through a network of roads, but in reality, the entire tech park area has only two main roads, making the traffic issue even more pressing. The unfiltered untruths : Screengrab of approval documents Page 301. (link below) The Current State of Affairs As of now, the new building project is already in progress, and it seems that there is no oversight or accountability in place to verify the accuracy of the claims made during the approval process. The community remains in the dark about the potential consequences of these falsehoods on their lives and the already problematic traffic situation. What' s the name of the authority that approved this traffic analysis ? In the central government, there exists a committee responsible for evaluating proposals and granting approval to various projects during board meetings. This committee operates under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India. The committee extensively discussed and examined several aspects during their deliberations and documented these in the meeting minutes. Topics covered included the vicinity of lakes, ecological considerations, B-kharab land usage, diversion of drainage channels, permits from the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), and many others. However, it is noteworthy that the committee overlooked the crucial factor of analyzing the potential impact on human lives due to traffic-related factors. Perhaps if they had accurately represented that only two roads connect to the tech park instead of falsely claiming the existence of four roads, questions about the matter might have arisen. For detailed information on committee's decision, you can refer to page 149 of the meeting minutes, where the project received its approval. Link is below. Opportunity to make the situation better In the face of these revelations, it is essential to consider whether it is more prudent to help the builder by making Lie 1 a reality, by forcing Villa association to allow non-villa vehicles to use the roads through Adarsh Villas. This could potentially ease the traffic situation. May be this is the only opportunity for the public and the builder to make the situation better. Courts have always emphasized that roads with in a layout are not private. But its unsure how Villa owners have been claiming that those private roads. However, it's equally important to hold the builder accountable for the untruths they told during the approval process. Transparency and adherence to the facts are crucial in such large developments, as they impact the lives of countless residents and commuters. Personally, I am not against development but I am all for well planned and sustainable development. Source of this information

2023.10.23 15:06 dreftzg [Daily News] Bell & Ross Takes Inspiration From Motorcycles For New BR 03-94, Fears Introduces Two Spectacular New Watches, Vulcain Releases Incredible Lagoon Blue Dial, New Watches From Brellum And Krayon
It's Monday and I know I constantly repeat myself by saying that the Vulcain Cricket Nautical might be the best watch ever made, but just look at this new limited edition. It’s incredible. submitted by dreftzg to Watches [link] [comments] If you like these updates, read on through to the end and see if you would like to subscribe to the newsletter, I appreciate all of you! What's new1/Bell & Ross Shows The New BR 03-94 BLACKTRACK, This One Inspired By Motorcycles Instead Of Planes https://preview.redd.it/ad0np3ewayvb1.jpg?width=1515&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ff53c158bfffa67f5a4dc6c38286de2f63bc30ca Very few brands are as strongly connected to aviation as Bell & Ross is. Sure, the list of pilot’s watches throughout history is very long, but very few have approached it the way B&R has - take an airplane instrument and strap it to a wrist as a watch. Of course, they don’t use actual instruments, it’s all just a gimmick, but you get the point. What you might not have known is that Bell & Ross has for years taken inspiration from another motorised vehicle - the motorcycle. Back in 2011 they teamed up with Shaw Harley-Davidson for the Nascafe Racer Bell & Ross and in 2014 they paid homage to the golden age of speed records on two wheels with the B-Rocket. Now they’re taking inspiration from another motorcycle, the Blacktrack BT-06 for their latest watch, the BR 03-94 BLACKTRACK. The BT-06 is a motorcyle from notorious French restomod and caffe racer manufacturer Blacktrak that has been styled much more aggressively than the other more retro offerings from Blacktrack and has a fairing that has seen inspiration from stealth planes. This hyper-futuristic and yet retro bike is al about sharp angles and dark colors. Just like the new BR 03-94 BLACKTRACK. You get a 42mm wide and tall matte black ceramic with a water-resistance rating of 100 metres. It’s a familiar look with a brand new look, one inspired by Sascha Lakic, the designer behind Blacktrack. You still have the curved square of the BR 03 case, but the corners have been dramatically chamfered, giving it an almost octagonal look, while also retaining the signature Bell & Ross screws on the edges of the case. The dial also looks very familiar, but also different. It takes the standard Bell & Ross bi-compax setup and with just a couple of lines transforms it into something that looks like the dial cluster of a motorcycle. You get hexagonal sub-dials within a frame, all on a matte black dial. In fact, pretty much everything is black about this watch, other than a few red details, an anthracite chapter ring and anthracite and partially skeletonized hands. The dial itself has deep vertical grooves cut into it, just like a motorcycle engine might have to aid cooling. An intriguing detail on the dial is the superimposition of the off-center chronograph second hand over the minute hand, forming the distinct "B" for Blacktrack. Inside the watch is the BR-CAL.301, an automatic caliber with 42 hours of power reserve. This is a rebadged ETA 2894-2, which is used frequently throughout the Bell & Ross product line, so it’s a workhorse movement that gets around. Te final motorcycle reference comes from the strap, as the watch is delivered on quilted pattern black calfskin strap, the same leather often used on motorbike saddle covers and rider's suits. The Bell & Ross BR 03-94 BLACKTRACK will be limited to 500 pieces and is on sale now for €6,990. This is a pretty steep markup from the €5,800 the regular ceramic version costs. You do get an entirely new case and dial, but it’s up to you to make up your mind if it’s worth it. The company has been around for over 170 years. Many people do not believe that a relaunched brand should be able to bank on the heritage of the company, but with Fears things are a bit different. Yes, the original Fears shut down in 1976 and hasn’t been seen until it’s revival in 2016, but this is not just a case of an investment fund buying the rights to the name and cranking out vintage-looking watches. Fears has been restarted by Nicholas Bowman-Scargill, the great-great-great-grandson of Edwin Fear. So there’s an obvious through-line of heritage there. But despite this great history, Fears is still willing to try new things. Things like the dial on the two new watches they are just releasing - the Fears Brunswick ‘Aurora’ and Brunswick 40 Copper Salmon. Both of these watches come in an updated stainless steel case that measures 40mm wide and 11.06mm thick. When I say updated case, I mostly mean the internals of the case as the watches keep their classic cushion shape. What has changed is that you now get a screw-down crown which increases the water resistance to 150 meters. Since this is not a sports watch, it’s nice to see such a high (deep?) water resistance. The main attraction, of course, are the dials of the two watches. First up is the Aurora, the first time that Fears has used a mother-of-pearl dial. There are two sections of mother-of-pearl cut to different heights and both given a light blue colour treatment that emphasises the iridescent quality of the material. It’s designed to look like the Aurora Borealis, hence the name. Then there’s the Brunswick 40 Copper Salmon, essentially a 40mm version of the previous Brunswick 38 Salmon, a watch that really catapulted Fears into popularity among collectors. The main difference is that it has the two layered dial with no small seconds subdial that most 40mm Dears watches come with. The outer ring features vertical brushing while the central disc is sandblasted. On top of that, it features black gold hands and numerals. Inside the watches is a Top-Grade ETA 2824-2 automatic with 40-hour power reserve. It’s a time only piece with central hours, minutes and seconds. The watches can come on either a steel five link bracelet or a brand-new buffalo leather strap. For now, the three-hand, no-date Brunswick 40 Copper Salmon is available from Fears for £3,550 (inc.VAT) on a strap and £3,750 on a bracelet. The Aurora is an additional £300 for each version (£3,850 and £4,050, respectively). See more on the Fears website. 3/ Brellum Releases The Incredibly Limited Pandial LE.5 DD DLC Full Black https://preview.redd.it/hcilbqxyayvb1.jpg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1385682fff19c9c5b9aff403de7224988e952bf0 PVD or DLC treated watches are an acquired taste. I’m not a huge fan, I’ll admit it, but have you seen the number of black watches that has been released just in the last few months? There’s dozens of them. And while most are a bit boring, there’s stuff like the amazing Porsche Design Chronograph 1 released just the other day. There’s a new contender in town, the Pandial LE.5 DD DLC Full Black Chronometer from Brellum, a small boutique brand that specialises in manufacturing vintage-inspired chronographs. And since Brellum specialises in making vintage-inspired chronographs, the Pandial is exactly that. It’s a simple stainless steel case that has a DLC coat on it and measures 43mm. The case itself looks very thin, thanks to two box sapphire crystals on top and bottom. You also get pump-style pushers and 100 meters of water resistance. The dial is all black with diamond-cut hour and minute hands and faceted applied indices. Inside the watch is the Brellum calibre BR-750-2, based on the tried-and-tested Valjoux 7750. It beats at 28,800vph and has about 48 hours of power reserve and is COSC certified. The movement decoration includes stripes, perlage and blued screws while the blackened rotor is personalised. The watch comes with an integrated Nebur Tec strap with a black DLC stainless steel deployment buckle or a black DLC stainless steel bracelet. The Brellum Pandial LE.5 DD DLC full Black Chronometer is an extremely limited release of just 33 pieces available globally. Price is set at €3,450 so I assume they will sell out pretty fast. The only place you can buy them on the Brellum website. 4/ Vulcain Teams Up With Retailer Ocarat For One Of The Best Limited Editions The Brand Makes https://preview.redd.it/qs11zrr0byvb1.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5f90259f2e6033d1ca3962bede62691b92c9d1a6 Since 1947, Vulcain has been associated with alarm complications on watches when they released the first Cricket and have since made the mechanical alarm a signature element of many of their watches. Things got complicated in 1959 when Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced the Memovox Deep Sea, a diver with an alarm. Vulcain knew they needed a response and the result was the 1961 Vulcain Cricket Nautical, equipped with a “triple case back” that acted as a resonance chamber, to amplify the sound underwater while still guaranteeing water-resistance. Why in the world would you need a diver with an alarm? Well, sound waves travel fantastically underwater, so it’s a perfect tool to signal divers what point in the dive they are. This year the Vulcain Cricket Nautical came back thanks to Guillaume Laidet who is the creative force behind Nivada Grenchen, Excelsior Park and the co-owner of Argon Watches. And as one of the best watches released this year, it’s no surprise that they are coming out with fanatastic limited edition, like this new collaboration with retailer Ocarat they call the Nautical Heritage Lagoon. The case remains the same - stainless steel with a polished finish and the signature triple-layer bottom that serves as a resonance chamber for the alarm. It measures 42mm wide, 17.35mm thick (don’t judge it, the chamber needs space to amplify sound) and has a 51mm lug-to-lug. The right side of the watch features one push button and two crowns to operate the movement and alarm function. Water resistance is 300 meters. The dial, however, is just magical. It’s finished in an eye-catching sunray brushed lagoon blue with a very subtle smoky gradient from a black to blue. The Arabic numerals at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock and baton indexes are covered with a thick layer of Superluminova. The watch has a significant and dramatic cutout in it that spreads from the centre all the way to the edge of the dial and allows you to see the copper colored lower layer which features your decompression stops. Creating contrast, the 60 on the dial and the tip of the alarm hand are pink. Inside the watch is the same movement as the classic Vulcain Cricket, the hand-wound calibre V-10. It has a twin-barrel architecture (one for timekeeping, one for the alarm) and the classic buzzing hammer system for the alarm. It also retains the Exactomatic, a patented device to equalise the friction on the balance-wheel axis in all positions by modifying the Incabloc endstones. Running at a slow pace of 2.5Hz, it can store up to 42 hours of energy when fully wound. The watch comes on a black leather strap that tapers from 22mm to 18mm. The Nautical Heritage Lagoon is limited to just 25 pieces and will set you back €4,500 (including tax in France). Seeing as how the Vulcain website lists the regular Cricket Nautical for CHF 4,900 or about €5,175 without any taxes, this is an incredible deal. See more on the Ocarat website. 5/ Krayon’s Anywhere Aurora Is Their First Titanium Watch With An Equally Incredible Dial And Price https://preview.redd.it/5k1nldq1byvb1.jpg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fa3253b0a241e12ecc1b82db27c6bc08e1f79ce9 In 2017, the Krayon Everywhere watch won an incredible amount of awards for it’s complication that allows the wearer to calculate sunrise and sunset times anywhere in the world. In 2020, Krayon followed that model up with the Everywhere which was easier to use, but still as complicated and with equal prize potential. Now, they are releasing a new colorway for the model - an incredible deep green - along with a first titanium case to make it even more wearable. To be fair, there was one Krayon Anywhere done in titanium, revealed just a few months ago for the Only Watch 2023 auction. But that is a one of one watch. Following releases in platinum, gold and steel, this will be the first regular production Krayon Anywhere in titanium and it measures 39mm wide and 9.5mm thick (which is incredible, when you take into account what the movement can do). Thanks to the grade 5 titanium, the case of the Anywhere Aurora weighs just 50 grams. The spectacle of the watch is even more intense on the dial which has been colored green with the process of atomic layer deposition which deposits ultra-thin films one atomic layer at a time interspersed with light-reacting copper oxide. This central area of the dial is decorated with a series of longitude and latitude lines to evoke the globe. The hours and minutes are indicated centrally with a sub-dial at 6 o’clock tracking date and month indications, essential for sunrise and sunset calculations. Inside the watch is the complex in-house calibre C030, a manual-winding movement made with 432 components. It’s just 5mm thick and delivers a power reserve of 72 hours. Beautifully decorated with manual bevelling and undulating waves on the bridges, the screws for the watchmaker to personalise the latitude and longitude bearings are clearly visible. The watch comes on a green grained calfskin strap. This Krayon Anywhere is a limited edition of 25 pieces and retails for CHF 142,000. See more on the Krayon website. ------------------------------------------------------------- On hand - a selection of reviews1/Hands on with the Gorilla Fastback Drift Safari Wandering Hours 2/ Louis Vuitton’s new Tambour is a show of the brand’s watchmaking know-how ------------------------------------------------------------- Watch Worthy - A look at an offbeat, less known watch you might actually likeThe Ollech & Wajs OW M-110 AS is a nice looking military watch with diving chops and a compass bezelI mentioned that a skin diver needs to bring unique looks to the party to stand out from the ever-growing crowd. I think the OW M-110 AS does that well and continues the company’s pattern of blending very different colors. Here, the dial is light gray with brushed steel, light green, and white detailing. The date window is nicely integrated at 6 o’clock to look like an hour marker. It’s all very smooth and calming. I don’t think I’ve seen a watch with this palette, yet it works really well. It certainly isn’t garish, too sporty, or boring.
