2024.05.17 00:27 CrankyJoe99x Picked up Solasta on sale - initial thoughts (spoiler free)

Posting this as the game was completely under my radar and others may have missed it and be interested.
In short, it's like a modern-day Neverwinter Nights; the remaster of the old game was disappointing, this could fill that void.
The base game is currently on sale for around $US12 equivalent, the full package around $33; I bought the latter.
Okay, to start; it's AA, not AAA. It has cheesy dialogue and average graphics, though the spell lighting effects are great. It uses the 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons rules (similar to BG3), I imagine under the open licence D&D has. The story in the base game is decent.
Now, the important bit - I think the interface, and very importantly the combat, are better than BG3. I'm 10 hours in and in love with the tactical combat. It can scratch the itch if you have finished BG3 and wanted more.
At the low price of the base game it is easy to recommend it to try out. The DLC comprises two character packs with extra classes and character backgrounds (including druids, I need druids 😉), two story packs (one low-level for new characters, one high-level loosely following the main campaign) and a fluff dice pack to support the devs.
Oh, full voices for all characters, including custom ones. There are also a few extra adventures in the main menu, I'm not sure where they came from. As with Neverwinter Nights, there is the ability to import custom scenarios; I haven't tried that yet.

2024.05.17 00:26 Unique_Assistance584 My favorite money saving tips since becoming a stay at home mom.

I've been a stay at home mom with my daughter (18 mo) and I just wanted to share some tips that have helped us save money as a family. Please feel free to also share your own tips
-Children Toys, strollers and big items. I recommend looking on facebook marketplace and join your town's free facebook pages. Most towns will have a free giveaway page where people are looking to giveaway items. This is a great place to find some baby items. Facebook marketplace is great to find deals. Also look on mercari for anything in particular. I was looking for a babyzen yoyo stroller for travel but didnt want to spend the $1,000. I was able to get the stroller and accessories for only $200 from someone local.
-COUPONING. This is my biggest tip by far. Couponing isn't how it was years ago. You can get all the savings through the app with only having to click a button. First is diapers, they can get pretty pricey but we've found a way to never spend more than $20 a month on average. I utilize CVS the most, if you check the app weekly you'll find diaper deals you can combine with other coupons that are exclusive for you. Two days ago I was able to get $90 in diapers for $30 out of pocket, $10 back in cvs rewards and $8 back in cash on Ibotta. Those diapers will last atleast 2.5 months. You can also use your partners phone to use their rewards and coupons too. These same discounts can be used for household items and even formula. We never pay full price for laundry detergent, toothpaste and hairproducts. The easiest way to start is to go on tik tok and look up CVS or Walgreens Couponing. The creators will make it super easy to follow. Just remember to only buy things you need so that you dont have a stock pile of random items you dont actually use.
These are some of the best money saving things we've done that have helpped our family, I hope this can help!
Remember you're doing your best at parenting and I'm so proud of you!

Player wants to leave but club wont allow it. Anything i can do?
So March wants to leave and I promised him that i would sell him in the summer. Got a reasonable offer so accepted it. Then I am told that he is not for sale at any price and Brighton reject the bid. Is there anything I can do or do I just have to live with it?

2024.05.17 00:24 TheMNDudeAbides Festiversary Opinions

Aye yo! Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve had plenty of good experiences at the Bent Paddle and they make some pretty good brews. But I’m confused at the idea of charging people $30/$40 to enter their anniversary party and then having to spend more money to buy beer at regular or near-regular prices. Before anybody gets cranky about, “well, they have to pay for staff and entertainment and porta pottys etc etc. The math works out to around 3000 attendees (per BP’s website) X $30 = $90,000 plus beer sales which = a shit ton. Is this just a money grab? Why not have a free festival or at least charge $10 entry to cover entertainment (which is all local/regional). Am I off base here or am I right in feeling like they’re pickin’ our pockets and laughing all the way to the bank? I mean, how bout some love to your customers like Castle Danger’s or Wild State’s anniversary parties = free + entertainment etc?!?

2024.05.17 00:23 FidelisScutum [USA-OR] [H] Dell 17" Precision 7780 laptop with RTX 4090 [W] PayPal

Dell 17" Precision 7780 Workstation - Timestamp - $2,800 Shipped
My company (VR development) just had a massive layoff and a friend I referred was affected. I was their manager and our IT contractor sent me their new laptop by mistake shortly before our surprise new CEO/happenings. So now I'm selling it for them while they look for a new job; it's literally never been used other than our IT company's initial setup and my clean Windows reinstall.
I reformatted the drive to wipe out the Dell bloatware and my coworker's info, reinstalled all the drivers, and got Windows fully updated; it's ready to upgrade to Windows 11 if you want to.
Benchmarks say the 4090 mobile should be around a desktop 4070 Ti/3090 in performance; I've got a slightly older model with a 3080 Ti which performs on par with my desktop's 2080 Super, so that lines up with my experience. It really is a great gaming laptop if you're looking for something to be able to hook up to a TV/monitor.
The best part is I confirmed with our IT company that we can transfer ownership, so purchase includes the remainder of the business-level support services (tech support via phone or chat, someone to come to your house for hardware repairs/replacements depending on circumstances) for the next *two and a half years*, through September 2026. (Expires on Oct 4) Laptop was at least $3,800 new, company originally ordered it October 3, 2023.
If you have any questions, want more pictures/videos, complete terms on the support services, whatever, don't hesitate to comment or message me!

2024.05.17 00:21 BoysenberryOld9827 At crossroads once again…

I worked as a Customer Success EngineeTechnical Support Engineer for a cybersecurity SaaS platform for around 9 months + 3 month internship when I was in my senior year at college.
65k/year in Houston, TX + 401k + Health Insurance + Stock Options. Not bad for entry level with no experience.
I was let go because I was not able to perform well due to mental health issues (which I did not communicate well with my manager) and it was also my first “hands on” technical gig, I was often very timid and would always escalate issues to my supervisor or sr devs. I also wasted a lot of my time after work on recreation instead of learning/practicing skills which would help me be more confident at the job.
I really enjoyed this job, learned ALOT about SIEMs, EDR, SOAR, NGFWs, and a lot more. I was just very intimated by customers at times and would panic a lot. It was also a startup so a lot of work, less hands.
——————————————————————————
I currently work as a cybersecurity engineer for a small business in the North Virginia area. I am the only “tech guy” and do everything from fixing the printer to troubleshooting literally everything and writing SSPs for compliance. I also setup the SIEM and SOAR, Entra ID, Intune Mdm/MDE, MS Defender and EDR and monitorespond to alerts and incidents.
Along with this I also assume tasks of a solutions architect/sales engineer by responding to RFPs and work with the business development team very closely. I schedule calls for partnerships and crank out 40-80 page proposals.
60k/year in North Virginia + No Benefits + 1% of annual revenue as bonus (which can be ALOT if we generate a lot of business)
I enjoy this job too, it’s not client facing so no stress of missing SLAs or jumping in crisis calls. I love solutioning and being creative when writing technical proposals, the BD stuff is great too to form good relations in the industry and see the business side. It’s just the pay which sucks. —————————————————————————— I’m currently interviewing for a Customer Success Engineer role almost identical to what I did previously. It’s almost DOUBLE of what I’m currently making and amazing benefits.
Should I stick with my current role hoping to win some work and get that bonus + work on certifications and handle SecOps or take the risk of going back in the trenches and make the jump if I get an offer?

2024.05.17 00:10 Hour-Ad-5646 Mentally destroyed

I just moved in Germany about 4 years ago, it felt like home but there was a deference. THE LANGUAGE. It was very awkward at the beginning because when I was speaking it felt like I had stones or sand in my mouth, but with the time I got better. At the very moment I am doing an Ausbildung. It’s a thing where you work for 3 days and go to school for the other 2. I choose to be a sales man for a German company that makes the best chainsaws, and now I regret it because of my boss. He is making my life harder just by putting to do like 10 tasks at the same time and get them done as quick as I can, I’m not complaining about that because I find it okay to have something to do instead of just hanging around the store and doing literally nothing. He likes to yell at me, to say that he is going to throw me out if I don’t make him coffee or clean his car and those are things that I didn’t signed up for when I started working. He is forcing me to work on Saturdays and Sundays and if not he is treating me again. I tried to speak this with my ignorant parents but they won’t listen. I am fighting with them on the same theme almost every day. And I just feel depressed and helpless because I can’t do nothing about it and because I have nobody on my side to just listen to me or just help me as little as they can. My mental health it’s getting worse day by day, and because of it I also started to feel lost, unmotivated, depressed, stressed and I started to feel how my brain doesn’t work anymore and just blocks for a few seconds and can’t do nothing to help it. Most of the time when this happens my subconscious feels how my brain stops and gets lost and then after a few seconds it works again. It’s like you are paralysing, knowing that it happens but you can’t help it until your brain gives you that electric impulse in your body. Because of it I can’t eat, I can’t sleep, I can’t have any other feeling than sadness, I can’t enjoy my life and be as happy as I used to be back then. I just feel like my body can’t do it no more and it starts to give up. If that one day comes I just want to say that I am sorry. I am sorry for giving up !!

2024.05.17 00:00 InformalDifference28 Are there any high end sales roles within marketing?

Long rant:
Currently working at a mid level marketing place, interviewing for other positions around low six figures. I've had the chance to work on really cool projects and I think I excel at making decks and marketing in general.
However, when I look ahead I'm noticing the salaries stagnate around 100-200k AND recently I've been doing some new business / business development at my job and enjoying it. While I don't have any background at sales, I have a lot of unfounded confidence surrounding my sales abilities for some reason and I'm wondering if there is some sort of synthesis between marketing / sales in a higher paying role.
Are there any roles like this? Like a high up, marketing sales guy who can clear over 250k? Is there a title for this, does a marketing background help or do they only like sales people?
Also not shitting on making 100-200k (my eyes will bulge out of my head when I hit over 6 figures) but I'm manically driven and like working a lot and would like to make even more. within this space without waiting until I'm 55 - respectfully (I feel like im coming off like a cunt rn)
TLDR: Is there high paying sales / marketing jobs - what is the role called and how do you get into it?

2024.05.16 23:58 mattovfm Corners of Europe challenge - Part 1 (Santa Clara) - @mattovfm

Managers,
10 days ago, I made a Reddit post explaining the 'Corners of Europe' FM24 challenge concept. Here is that post. I would strongly recommend reading that to get a grasp of the idea - it is really interesting.
Following on from that, and 10 daily uploads since then, I thought I would do a post on here following up from that, as a way to invite you to watch my videos over at youtube.com/@mattovfm , and also to be able to show new viewers, and anyone who wants to try this career concept for themselves, the progression of the career itself. This is my first time doing it and I believe it is a unique concept (as far as I am aware), so it is all realistic and anything can change in the future, but this is how the first season and a half went. Enjoy the read!
I took the job over in Santa Clara with the aim to achieve the first goal of the challenge - win promotion. A newly relegated team, this proved to be the perfect job for it. We started the season well, picking up 6 wins in 9 games. We also made the Round of 16 of the Portuguese Cup... until Benfica came to the western most place in European football.
A great start to the season meant some inevitable bad form was on the horizon. 1 win in 6 games in the League put our unexpected (for me, personally, but maybe not the board) but welcomed title pursuit in jeopardy. And with two huge games to decide if we take that title coming up, a trip to P. Ferreira, the team we trailed at the top by 6 points going into the game, and a visit from 2nd placed Benfica B proved definitive for our season. Episode 5 was make or break.
A 1-0 win against the Benfica B team was a huge result to get the mental edge over a team who couldn't get promoted, no matter what (due to league rules). The momentum was carried early on into the P. Ferreira game...
Until a 94' equaliser denies us the chance to catch up in the league. For now.
With 10 games left and only our best efforts acceptable if we want to win the league, we went on to win 8 out of the 10, and drawing the other 2. However, was this enough? Even though promotion was pretty much expected after a great end to the season for us and was an expectation for myself and from the board, that title was still there to be won, and who wouldn't want that.
In P. Ferreira's final 8 games, 6 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss. A bit of magic needed to deny them of the title.
Final 2 games for the opposition; Benfica B, Porto B. Two teams who we lead 2-0 and both managed to do a comeback on us this season, possibly the games that, on reflection, may have lost us the league, showing why their teams, no matter the level, are the leaders of the country as they are.
And they proved once again why they are the elite of Portugal. Benfica away proving too tough a test for P. Ferreira, we steal first place on the penultimate day of the season. One final game to wrap up our season in the final episode of the week.
And we end the week as league champions! From 6 points behind to winning by 4, the episode ends a great week of football with a trophy lift to conclude.
Overall, an eventful week of football in the first season of the 'Corners of Europe'. Most importantly, we achieved the goal to win promotion, ticking off the first of 10 goals set out from the start. We also used the first of our 5 tactics to do so; counter-attack. Although not the most fun and effective, it was still nice to learn for a season. The perfect start to the challenge.
As stated in the first post, the ideal jobs are not going to come that easily. We start the 24/25 season with Santa Clara, and after coming up with lots of money from the Second Division generated from player sales, we spent some in the summer. It took a while to steady the ship in the First Division, until we played one of the greats of the country, Braga. A 2-1 win against the struggling giants got us our first win after 6. But it didn't just stop there. A historic 3-2 win after flying two hours in to the town of Lisbon, we were able to defeat the 20x reigning league champions in their own back garden, none other than Sporting Lisbon. A historic episode topped of by a win in the Portuguese Cup against a team who we played last season in the league, but now found ourselves two leagues apart, in Penafiel.
And after weeks of insecurity around the KA job, the offer finally came up. Leaving on a high with 3 huge wins, lots of money and a Second Division title, one very warm door closes to open to a new chilly one, some 3000km to the northwest of Europe. As our time in the Azores islands, in the middle of the Atlantic, draws to a close, the full Santa Clara playlist, in numerical order, can be found here.
Time for a new chapter in the 'Corners of Europe' challenge, over in Iceland with Knattspyrnufélag Akureyrar (I think KA is enough, though).
Here's the first video in Iceland from a few days ago, and if it interests you, make sure to come and check out this week's daily content (5PM UK time) - it's already looking to be another great season!
Thank you for reading. Hope to see you on the channel, and thank you for all the support so far. It's been my pleasure. youtube.com/@mattovfm

2024.05.16 23:57 maxinesteel92 Looking for bike/tricycle

Hi everyone! First time posting, but I could really use some help. I recently got laid off and my car got totaled so I’m looking for a bike/trike to get around for the time being. Hoping to land a job soon, but this job market makes me nervous… in any case, does anyone have a cheap bike or trike for sale, or know of non-scammy places to source one? I am in the west providence neighborhood, so anywhere within a couple of miles would work (I can certainly walk just about anywhere, but I thankfully have friends to get me to Pawtucket/Warwick/etc if necessary). I saw a few on OfferUp, but they don’t have many reviews which makes me a bit worried. I was looking at one that had a basket, but figured I would post here as I’ve gotten lots of great recommendations and sources in the past (secondary of course, as I said first time posting). Please let me know if any of you have to offer, or know a better place I should be looking! Thank you in advance! 💜

New to subreddit. This is my offering to you all. Thrift find.
My girlfriend found this for me at the thrift, she said oooh pretty and gave it to me because I have recently shown an interest in starting to collect coins. Can’t believe it was just on the sales floor and not behind the counters. Needless to say what a way to start off the collection. For 20 dollars I got this. I opened it and loved it instantly. So did a couple other people who saw what was in the case. They followed me around the entire time hoping I would place it down and leave it

2024.05.16 23:52 norcalnomad Got sent multiple items from a single Facebook Marketplace sale (same category of item)?

TLDR: Bought something new from an individual on FBM. Got the wrong tracking number then they switched the tracking number. Finally two versions of the item showed up (one 95% correct, one from another manufacture). Never once had post sale communication from the seller, and I have screenshots and photos documenting all of this.
First red flag: Killer deal
An individual on FBM was selling a new piece of sporting equipment at basically a 65% discount. That was the first thing that had me nervous but I've gotten amazing deals like that before on reddit, craigslist, etc. My first pair of skis as an adult came from a dude who's wife said he needed to sell a bunch of his. I could have turned around and sold them for twice what I paid for that day. Decided to use Paypal as my payment method with my CC to try and triple my redundancy from potential shenanigans.
Second Red flag: Zero communication
The first UPS tracking number that was sent to me was to a state I've never even visited, and not with my name on it (confirmed by UPS). So I messaged the seller and asked for the correct one, no response for multiple days. A few days after that first tracking number was delivered I gave them another message asking for a refund since I never got the package. Two days after that they changed the tracking number to one that was actually going to my shipping address but from a location that was different than the seller's on FB. Again zero response and that hasn't changed.
Third Red Flag: Multiple items and tracking numbers galore
Kept a close eye on that tracking number and it was forecasted to arrive today via UPS. Yesterday I got a UPS package that matched about the size and weight, but from a business. So I took a picture of the box and opened it before checking the tracking number. It was the same category of sporting equipment, but a different model and manufacture. So I checked the tracking number and we now have three tracking numbers involved. So today I got a package from USPS that came from Canada from a retailer I'd never heard of before. In that package was the correct manufacture, model, but wrong sub model of the item I ordered (can still be used for what I need). Guess what though...FOURTH different tracking number (wasn't a UPS sure post situation). And that 2nd UPS tracking number still is "out for delivery" as I write this.
Where I'm at now:
No idea what is up. Wondering if it's something where I'm the middle man for some sort of weird irl "duplication glitch" where I'm going to be asked to send something back. Are they going to ask to send one or both back or open up a FB market claim? Some really weird form of brushing?
Tried to google for something like this to no luck. I'd really like to use what I ordered (or at least the one that is 95% correct) but want to keep things new in case some sort of shenanigans is going down.
*edit\* And now I can't get on the sellers page (getting the message like I was trying to see content from a private group I'm not a part of)

2024.05.16 23:50 nemesina77 Career Advice for a couple with opposite issues?

Two part question.
My husband and I are the perfect candidate (combined) - he has the experience and I have the degree!
After college I became a caretaker: first for him when he had a work injury and needed back surgery, then for my nephew, and finally for my son. (The latter two have Autism) During that time he's worked full time and provided for our family. We never had a lot extra but we got by and our son never wants for anything.
A year ago I had our second child and completed our family.
A month ago some stuff went down at his job. There was some documentation signed so the quickest way to explain it is that the current boss is being forced into early retirement and the one who's coming in has someone in mind for my husband's job so they made a deal and essentially forced him into resigning.
He's got insurance and pay until the end of June and we've been applying like crazy but he's really at the top of his field and most places won't hire him for the job he was just doing without a college degree, even though he's been doing this for 20 years and clearly knows the job.
He's 42 and I'm 40.
At this point we've only heard back for one interview and they went with someone who had a degree.
We're applying for basically anything he's even slightly qualified for: entry level sales jobs, managerial positions, etc.
(He's been a public school custodian for 20 years and his most recent job was as a facilities manager for the district, so he has experience in inventory, ordering, project bidding, etc. Before that he worked in pest control, HVAC, and landscaping. He also worked in retail as a teen.)
Because he's been having such a hard time we've realized either I have to find a comparable paying job or we're going to both have to get lower paying jobs and work opposite shifts (and with two kids we'd like to avoid that).
I have a Bachelor's degree in History and before I graduated I worked in retail. Since my son was born I've been doing a ton of advocating for him. I held a fundraiser that raised over $25k. I solicited companies for donations and received around $20k in items and a couple of weekend vacation packages (free hotel stays + museum tickets + restaurant gift cards).
I successfully got him out of district into a specialized school that the town originally didn't think he needed.
I'm giving you all of this information so you have some idea of what skills we both have.
We're trying to figure out if we should each be pursuing some education.
We're leaning towards insurance licensing for him since they always seem to be hiring and it would only take around $1200 and a few months.
For me I have options: the easiest would be signing up as a substitute teacher. There's a massive shortage and they'd definitely hire me but it's not consistent and it would bring in maybe 1/3 of his most recent paycheck if I worked every day.
Option two is me getting some further education.
I could get my master's teacher certification. If I did it online from WGU it would cost around $10-$12k and take 18-24 months, depending on how fast I could finish the work. (I would have to get a loan from my parents or apply for scholarships for this)
I'll be honest: I certainly COULD be a teacher but there's clear reasons why people are leaving this field in droves.
I could also get some sort of a certification in something like medical coding and billing or in something IT.
Right now my husband makes about $65k/year (before taxes, nets about $3400/month), so our goal is that or (ideally) more but since that's not a crazy high amount I figured someone would have some good suggestions.
I guess our main goal is something fast-ish and bang for our buck.

I currently work for a tiny startup that I joined as first employee and so received a good amount of shares. Our product is in a state where it could be sold I think, but it’s been around a year focusing on sales and there’s no money coming in yet, and not enough communication from the founders on what goes wrong on these sales
Other than that salary is good and I like the work, but it’s getting boring not having any customers using our product…
On the other hand there’s this other startup where I know the founder and he seems like an awesome person, he’s wanted to hire since I interviewed with them before joining my current role.
I like their product less, but they have more engineers in the company and all seem amazing so it’d be cool working with so many intelligent people, whereas I think our founders suck at managing a company…
So, should I switch?
At this point I’ve vested more than half of my options, so as long as the company makes it (they’ll be screwed without me, so I’d hire a good replacement for myself before leaving, and then try to strike a deal where I help the new hire in exchange for contuinuing to vest for a while)
Happy to go into more detail in the comments!
tl:dr;
Current Job: cool tech, cool space, bad management, no sales
New Job: cool tech, meh space, good management, close to profitable

2024.05.16 23:38 ntin 6 Months and 2300 Miles With a Blazer EV

Following up on my previous thread.
tl;dr; I am still satisfied with my purchase and will consider another Blazer EV in the future.
Mechanically, the Blazer EV is great. It drives nicely and handles well. Coming from a Chevy Volt, the turning radius is surprisingly similar for a vehicle about a foot longer and wider. It doesn't feel like driving a tank like other SUVs.
The software, aside from bugs, is a mixed bag. The UI could use a redo. It feels like too much form over function. The use of space is questionable, and some of the touch buttons are small enough that they aren't easy to press in a moving vehicle. The screen is so large, but with so much empty space, it could have been smaller, and nothing would have been lost.

Stop Sales, Software Updates, and Recall Updates

Software

Rebate Check and New Pricing

Interior

Accessories

New Options

Things I would like to see in a future Blazer EV

2024.05.16 23:35 rbowen2000 Flying United

I know y'all like to complain about Delta, and indeed air travel gets worse every year. But flying United really makes me appreciate Delta.
We flew LEX <-> DEN last week on United.
The check-in experience at DEN was just chaos. No line. Just a mob and shouting gate agents chastising everyone for doing it wrong. (LEX was fine because it's a teensy regional airport and people are lovely there.)
We were flying cattle class because it was a last minute trip. So luggage was $35 a piece because you can't take anything on the plane beyond a small personal bag or purse. So there went an extra $70 for two small bags that we thought would go in the overhead.
Then we didn't get seat assignments until we were at the gate. Which is not a crisis but when you're flying with a kid they want to know what to expect.
The gate agents were hostile. The boarding was a mad rush.
And then on the plane they kept trying to sell you stuff. There was a high-pressure sales pitch for a credit card, and then they came around to the seats trying to get you to sign up for it.
I'm feeling a little bit better about enduring the horrible music on my next flight.

2024.05.16 23:31 Delicious_Cream_5931 Planning a very big order for next big sale, will I be destroyed by custom fees?

Hello,
I live in France and I would like to order only 2 times during the year, during summer sale and during Black Friday.
Im planning to use the next big sale (summer sale?) to pack around 33 bottles of supplements for me and my family (it is showing currently 1800$ with the -10% subreddit promo code).
So far, ordering from France, I’ve only paid custom fees ONCE. 8€ for a 200$+ order on my very first order. The 8 other orders I’ve done, I’ve never paid any custom fees anymore.
I’m worried I would make a very big order of 33 bottles and get crushed by custom fees (even though I only paid once over all my orders).
What would be your advice, would you recommend to make one big order ? Or several small orders ? Several orders to different addresses from my family?
Thanks in advance for your help!

2024.05.16 23:23 Toillion Season Ticket Help

I'm looking to become a first time season ticket holder for football and I have some questions. I don't know a lot about how this process works but I know that existing holders get first dibs and that sections require different amounts of donations to unlock.
Since I've never really gone through this process before I tried to be proactive to increases my chances of getting decent tickets so I called for the first time in February. I am also wanting to get enough for kind of a large group (around 8 people) which I know may make things difficult. Since it's a larger group I would be looking for something in the upper bowl. Preferably somewhere between sections W502-W506 first 12 rows. The lady I got on the phone the first time was very nice and made it sound like I was going to be able to get something at least close to what I wanted. She even said she was going to look to see what she could get me which surprised me since it was still renewal season. She called me back a couple days later and did say she couldn't get something right away and I had to wait until renewals for existing holders was done which I fully expected. She said she'd call back in May when they open up new tickets and was still confident that I would be able to get what I was looking for. So last Thursday May 9th, I got a call from a different person asking me if I was still interested in tickets. I said yes and starting to give my info. After I gave my email address the call dropped. They didn't call back so I did which I got the voicemail so I left my message. I also sent an email that day as well. I didn't get any calls back so starting Wednesday of this week I started to try calling back. I get to the first person and they transfer me to whoever handles the sales. No one ever picks up and it goes to voicemail and I leave a message. Obviously they are probably very busy but since they called me last week and the call dropped I kind of expected them to try to reach back out, or at least respond to my email. So I guess my questions boil down to this. How long is the season ticket window open for and is it extremely competitive to get tickets? Am I out of luck for this year and what could I do differently next year? Should I just chill and wait for a call back?

2024.05.16 23:20 peelingglue Which plant should I get for my office?

Which plant should I get for my office?
We’re having a plant sale at work to raise scholarship money for students. There are a few plants I thought might look good in my office. My office faces west and gets a lot of afternoon light (see pic). The ones that struck my fancy were the umbrella plants (dwarf and larger leafed variety), rubber plant, or palm. I have a big thaumatophyllum and lime tree at home, but I’ve never had any of these. Any that are very fun to have around?

2024.05.16 23:20 Specklor Help. Need input on getting gear!

Hello my dear fellow telemarking Telemarketers or telemarketing Telemarkers!
I am out there in the interwebs looking for a good deal on an NTN setup and was hoping you can help me / provide some input.
I am not a particularly good skier (I did alpine for 15 years, and then converted to snowboarding for the last 20 years) but have an old 75mm Telemark setup for a good while now that I occasionally whip out when going with beginning friends, or when the conditions are abysmal and you still want to do something to progress a little bit on.
My kids picked up skiing last winter and I had the telly skis out a little bit more to shrub around behind them. Then, one fateful day, I rented an NTN setup (Armada Tracer with an OutlawX) and LOVED it! Really fun to ski an NTN setup and way less exhausting than my 7tm.
I’m 6ft / 183cm, 180lbs / 82kg. And looking at something in the 96 – 106mm width region. Mainly slopes, some sidecountry (eventually), but don’t see myself touring anytime soon.
When shopping around I found the following options and was wondering what you all think:
I don’t know much about the Meidjos but those are set prices and they don’t have size L OutlawXs anymore but I read they are not too dissimilar when it comes to how they ski? Kind of am intrigued by the releaseability (read: bad knees). I’m not set on Line either (was just what was left in what I assume is a good ski length).
Another complicating factor is that I don’t have boots yet. I was thinking of getting either the new TX Pros when they come out, or the (then hopefully heavily discounted) old TX Pros. But, of course, they have different sole lengths, so I don’t’ know how to have them mounted (are +/- 9mm a big deal?).
Wow, what a wall of text!
Tl;dr: What kind of ski and binding makes a good first NTN setup for a non-aggessive part-time shredder? Bonus points for in stock, on sale items, in shops that mount Telly bindings in EU or US (have family in the former and live in the latter). Thanks a ton!
