I know I know... yet another Warcraft movie shill post, but hear me out:
Warcraft movies have long been a fan's daydream. As a long time fan and active player I'm no different. In fact I might have gone a bit overboard with fantasies about it, but I did some thinking and research and here's an outline of what I think can make the franchise a success and launch a potential WoW cinematic universe. I know most of this has already probably been said before, but I want to put it all in a single place where we can see if theres any way to push this to Blizzard/Microsoft and make it finally happen.
A three-part telling of the story of Arthas in streamable series format.
Part 1: The Fall of Lordaeron - We follow Arthas from his young Paladin days through the events of discovering the scourge and ending with the Purging of Stratholm. The ending with "This whole city must be purged" is an amazing finale foreshadowing the downfall of the main protagonist.
Part 2: Frostmourn Hungers - Arthas, now on a downwards spiral goes to Northrend and finds Frostmourn. This part would cover his Northrend campaign, slowly corrupting him into the Lich King's will. Includes the return to kill his father, the destruction of Quel'Thalas, resurrection of Kel'Thuzad and ultimately ends with Arthas putting on the Lich King armor and helm.
Part 3: The Lich King - Starting with the WotLK cinematic, it would follow the story of the WotLK expansion and shift focus slightly on the world banding together to defeat Arthas. The ending should be kept exactly the same - the champions of the Horde and Alliance together with Tirion defeat the Lich King exactly as it was told in the game.
Cast ideas:
It is important that the main cast and director crew are fans of WoW and its story, so they represent it well. I've picked a list of several casting choices that have either played WoW or would just fit too well with the character they portray in my opinion. The following list is more of a wish-list, but as with any production - known names bring audience.
Director - Sam Raimi. He is a WoW player and was allegedly "desperate" to direct the first Warcraft movie. Having a good director who is a fan of the lore and game is critical for the success of this (see Last of Us for example)
Arthas - Henry Cavill is the obvious, well-known, best choice. Apart from being so close to how Arthas looks, he would inevitably bring an enormous audience of non-WoW fans and almost guarantee success.
Jaina - Mila Kunis or Cameron Diaz. Both have played WoW and both can portray Jaina in a slightly different way but close to the depiction in the game. Even Ella Purnel (the Fallout role of Lucy) could do a great job here.
Tirion - Gary Oldman. He not only fits the visual representation of Tirion, but even his voice is similar. His previous roles have resemblance to the character arch of Tirion (e.g. Gordon in The Dark Knight)
Uther - Jeff Bridges. Requires no further explanation. He just is Uther.
Bolvar - Travis Fimmel. He did great as Lothar, but he would do even better as Bolvar in my opinion.
Kel'Thuzad - Ralph Fiennes. We dont have much to go off of for his visual depiction in his Human form, but Fiennes portrayal of Voldemort and Hades fits very well with this character.
Darion Mograine - Christian Bale. This is a an important character and Bale's representation of complex conflicting characters could be amazing for this.
Antonidas - Ian McKellen. Simple - nobody can portray an old wise archmage as good as him so far.
The list goes on and on and I wont try to be exhaustive here as the goal is to just give an idea of what it could look like with a star studded cast. Theres an infinite number of good choices, so theres no point in getting stuck on casting. Frankly the only choice that is non-negotiable is Cavill as Arthas in my opinion.
Main reasons why now is the time for it:
Creating a series, rather then movies, is quite crucial. If Last of Us showed us anything, it is that series allows you to tell peripheral stories really well in isolation, without distracting from the main narrative. I dont see a realistic way of telling all the different plots going into the Arthas story without butchering it. Things like The Wrathgate, The Ashbringer, Tirion's backstory, Illidan and his quest against Arthas, etc. would feel out of place in a movie, but quite natural in a series. There is no other way to tell WoW lore along the main story and open up the doors for cinematic universe of movies and series stemming from this main branch.
Streaming services have allowed series to evolve and tell stories in a way that movies never could. They have started a great trend of bringing games to the big screen. This trend seems to be getting stronger and stronger. Classic WoW showed that Warcraft fans are here and hungry for the epicness of the original games. The hype is there. WotLK just ended, so the nostalgia will start crippling in. We just defeated the Lich King, now its time to see the story told in its full potential.
Blizzard appears to be on a downward trend with WoW subs and are seemingly desperate for cash and ideas of bringing the playerbase back into the game in full swing. What better way then telling this story and potentially turning the whole world to fans who would at least want to try the game after watching a great series? Just think of Cavill as Arthas and the amount of wives/gfs who would suddenly find out that WoW might be cool :D
Microsoft taking ownership of Blizzard is another positive - Fallout is part of Microsoft and it is doing great as a series. This might suggest that Microsoft understands the potential of those franchises coming to the screen and being very successful on their own, while bringing lots of new players to the game, thus increasing profits in two separate streams.
If Last of Us, Witcher and Fallout are doing so well - think of the game that everyone and their mother knows. If there was ever a game that virtually everyone knows, has a story that is perfect to film and has great names in the industry passionate about - it is World of Warcraft. Jumping on this band wagon, WoW has a history of coming to the scene and becoming the king. It would be no different as series - the one that makes them all pale in comparison.
It is what WoW has been leading up to. It is what it was destined to become.
This wont be just a success. This would be a grand slam.

Gheinar City: Imperial Occupied Northern Front
General Redlina's lone transport arrived at Gheinar in the early hours of a particularly cold morning. The large abhuman marched down the ramp flanked only by two Valyrrans & two Minthelians. Her aide Lieutenant Luciel who was coughing regularly and barely able to stay standing straight after the wounds she had sustained and still not gotten treated properly. And a lone stormtrooper who hid her face behind her visor and rebreather but her armour was scarred and scratched telling a tale of a violent and chaotic battle. The two Minthelians Captain Poppy and Flo had tagged along with the general on route to the northern front.
Redlina however was as she always looked, her bulky uniform and coat billowing behind her, red abhuman eyes hidden under the peak of her iconic officers cap. She was ignoring the pain from her own injury but unless those watching paid close attention it was hard to tell she was still recovering from a stab wound by the traitors knife.
Redlina was here to speak with McMahon, the 532nd was the backbone of her main force after the Sigmauer task force had been pulled out from under her and she was here to answer whatever questions the colonel might have in person, as promised. She had not spoken to him since contingency V7 had been enacted. She marched through the cities citadel following firections to the main HQ saluting every guardsman she passed.

East of Crowton & Burron: Imperial Siege Lines
At the Rok, Colonel Zerac was awoken to another explosion and the sounds of ork warcries. The orks were launching another attack, the 9th this week alone. Most never even got close to the lines but this one sounded bad. He rolled off the ammo crate he had been using as a bed collected his kit and rushed out of the deep dugout and into the trenches passing scrambling formations of Valyrran troops that rushed to their positions. Amidst the shouts of "Bayonets" and barking orders, the colonel walked on nodding to the young nervous looking troops under his command or giving them brief words of encouragement and pats on the back. Meanwhile explosions rained down all over the trench network from innaccurate ork fire and the crack of imperial artillery firing in reply, waging a war of counter battery across the snow filled warzone.
As he arrived at the command dugout the sounds of battle began in earnest orks had reached 1k meters from the first line and lasguns, heavy bolters grenade launchers and more had started opening up. The Colonel found his other half, Colonel Mirai already barking instructions into a voxset and moving icons around on the command table. Ebkirche had been summoned and warnings had been issued to the Kriegers to the south about the scale of this attack.
The Valyrrans would not falter and stood ready to weather the green tide once again.

Outskirts of Waycross: Northern Front
Bluekilla Snazzda had recieved the bosses orders not long ago. "Find da nearest humie settlement and krump em" His roving band of orks numbering some 5 thousand had seen the explosions and fighting happening over by Waycross and had not wanted to be left out, thing is he realised very quickly he was outgunned and outnumbered and in an odd show of competency had elected to launch a dawn attack on the humies from the northwest and western directions as they started moving north. It remained to be seen if his boyz had been seen sneaking closer using their peculiar white camouflage to mask their approach, he had a lot of looted tanks and warbuggies ready to begin a frantic armoured charge when the fighting got tough but he himself was outfitted with his meganob armour and customshoota ready to have a good fight.
5k orks with mechanised troops, artillery and tanks are launching a surprise raid, their bloodlust is high so dont expect any retreat.

North of Fort Ko'Var: Formerly Saints Gate
Task force Liberation was on the move, thousands of infantry and vehicles began moving out from Liberation heights only a few miles from the fort. They had plans to begin setting up siege lines, digging in their artillery while they still had the element of surprise the idea was to keep the tanks hidden in the forest for now, ready to begin the attack at any time. Troops sat in fox holes and prayed to the Emperor awaiting the word to bring the fight to the T'au.
Colonel Lilzton Stood on the back of a command salamander scout vehicle with a detailed map of the fort and all current force positions outlined, Morale was high he just hoped it stayed that way once the casualties started coming in.

Westbridge: Northern Front Imperial Mountain Command
Lion had been woken once again to the sound of another incident he was beginning to get very tired of it and Valtin was really pushing for a crackdown on the civilian populace after last nights attack on the warehouses.
When Valtin came to see him for the 6th time that morning Lion nodded. A demonstration needs to be made. Valtin had left with a terrifying smile on his face, what he might do remained a mystery.

Major Minton and the very large Valyrran force with her set out today towards Waycross with the intention of joining the frontline and setting out for the fort itself. The Valyrrans had gone from the smallest contingent to probably the largest now and the rows of heavy armoured vehicles poured out of the town for hours all heading south towards the newly found crossing, squads of centaur light carriers, hydras and hellhounds set out for the bridge itself eager to get to Waycross as quickly as possible under Captain Donly's command while the infantry, Crassus and Macharius heavies went south.
As reports of fighting at the river had reached command, waves of Vulture gunships had been scrambled to scour the snowy plains and find the escaped T'au force, Minton had orders to divert a hunting party which would cooperate with the Rathian scouts in the area to find and eradicate this potential thorn in their side.
Squads of elite Valyrran specialists now began a search pattern if they found anything or a team didnt call in Vultures would descend on the area in minutes. Command was not taking any risks as all logistical supplies needed for the siege had to pass through these areas and there was zero tolerance for any losses.

Fortress Sha'Yo: T'au Northern Frontline.
At Sha'Yo Fortress Captain Finn stood on the battlements looking out south, he had been told the stealth convoy had returned across the icebreaker plains and was due to arrive today. He had still been waiting on reports of how the rest of the fighting had unfolded across the frontlines after his own only semi successful strike, he atleast hoped the enemy no longer underestimated them going forward. His forces morale had stayed steady despite the losses and he had doubled the number of drone patrols incase of any Imperial counter attack, he would not be caught unprepared.

Both Imperial and T'au commands in the area looked at meteorological reports and both sides came to the same conclusion. A potent winter storm was about to hit the northern front which would drop temperatures considerably. All forces were advised to prepare themselves for a period of intense snow, with -30 to -50 degree weather with even worse conditions in the mountains and low visibility expected until the storms pass. These conditions will hamper air support especially.

I still can’t get over the evening with twenty one pilots small show in Berlin. I’ve been into the band for 9 years now, and it was my first time seeing them live (since I lived in a country not many international artists come to). I have to say, that it was an absolutely magical experience.
I feel like the main attraction of the whole show was being amongst fans that were as passionate about the music as I was. Everybody in that room knew the lyrics front to back, word to word, and I’d kill to have an experience like that more often. Since I’ve grown up watching videos of all the previous tours of all eras, I always wished that I could experience the songs that they played a certain way in that specific show.
What I would love to organise, is a sing along party for the Berlin clikkies. I’m an event promoter based in Berlin, and I was thinking of setting up an event where the fans get a live rendition of the music from different tours stitched together and rendered exactly like they played it, but in a studio version. Fans get together and sing along to their dream setlist flowing through with segues and transitions exactly like they do in a live show (like ‘Pet Cheetah to HDS’ or ‘Jumpsuit to Levitate’) including interactive bits that the band incorporates in their live shows (WDBWOTV for example) in Tyler’s voice. A dream setlist that’s 3 hours long, and not constricted to a usual 80 minute show.
A music club/venue with professional audio, lights and sound, around 1000 fans singing in unison for hours could be an unforgettable experience. What do you guys think about a concept like this, and what would your dream setlist be?

Frank held the wasted hand of his beloved Julia. Her sparkling wedding band hung loose on her withered finger, her nails, once glossy and strong, were now brittle and yellow. Looking at her dull sunken eyes, he was glad that she would be at peace soon.
And yet, he couldn’t help feeling a flutter of excitement. He couldn’t deny it. As the time came, he could acknowledge how deeply he was looking forward to the aftermath. Julia had taken some persuading, in fact she had refused point-blank when he had first broached the subject. But he knew how to wear her down- a skill honed over their years together- and of course her sickness made her less resistant. He played upon the guilt she bore of abandoning him because of her untimely impending demise, the pleasure it would provide him after her death, and how it would bring them closer together, and eventually she signed off.
It would mean she would be assisted in dying a bit sooner than “natural”- what was natural anyway? There was no point waiting until all her organs and flesh was diseased and useless. Her heart and lungs were as sound as a bell, as her doctor was fond of repeating, and her bones would make a most excellent broth. The medics and Funeral Baked Meats fixed the appropriate date.
There was a tap at the hospital room door- it was the Baked Meats representative Johannes, a good-looking young man. Frank had thought it odd at first that somebody as vibrant as Johannes should enter such a morbid profession, until they worked together and he realised Johannes was actually the perfect fit.
Johannes didn’t enter the room. Frank slipped his hand out of Julia’s weak clutch, and went up to him.
“I am most sorry to disturb you Mr. Smith- but time is approaching, a few details regarding the menu- we want everything perfect-“
“No need to apologize” whispered Frank- “let’s go to the visitor’s lounge, Mrs. Smith is resting.”
Johannes had his file with him, and together they went over time the dishes which would best fit Julia’s remains. Frank could barely stop himself from drooling over the description of the fricassee and then the breakfast sausages- oh - Humble, yet his favourite, he admitted with a sheepish grin at Johannes.
“They are one of our most popular products sir, I completely understand that. And no wonder!”
“Is that so?” said Frank. “I would’ve thought everyone wants fancy stuff!”
“Oh no sir, the breakfast sausages, very popular, no wonder with our chefs’ recipes- well, we can hardly keep up with the demand.”
Frank nodded. Funeral Baked Meats were making top dollar, as everyone rushed into the trend of eating their loved ones remains.
He shook hands with Johannes, and walked back to the Julia’s room. Her eyes were open, watching. His heart sank a bit, but then remembered it would be over soon. He bent and kissed her clammy forehead, and she flinched.

Perhaps he asks you to inspect it to see if it is indeed real, unaltered, normal. But of course... it probably isn't. The second act is called "The Turn". Speculation: Not sure about this one other than the family in Ozark were right on the line of legality when it came to what they were doing, essentially they were money laundering and in the end it cost them their family. SHFs messing with Gamestop to the point of legality could be what costs them their family of investors?

Speculation: This play is a high risk play as we all know but DFV doesn't care about the odds, so many people have told him how crazy he is but that doesn't stop him absolutely nailing it. Speculation: The Moon Knight in fortnite is considered a rare character. In fact the last time the Moon Knight was in the fortnite shop was Nov29, 2023. With that, it's a very valuable and sort after skin. Also worth noting about the Moon Knight, "For a quick run-down: Moon Knight is actually a former mercenary named Marc Spector. One day, when he's left for dead in the desert, the ancient Egyptian moon god Khonsu revives him. Along with a new lease on life, Khonsu gifts Marc with god-like powers to fight evil". Take from that what you will.

Description: This is the epic reveal in fight club and DFV has replaced a lot of the words. In the original scene, if you haven't watched fight club, the main protagonist has put the pieces together to realise that he himself is actually the same person as the other protagonist in the film and it was him alone that accidentally setup a sort of movement against the financial elite. In this clip DFV plays off the two characters between DFV and Roaring Kitty.
Speculation: Roaring Kitty was the twitter handle and Youtube profile for Keith Gill where he would speculate on the stock because he just loved doing it. DFV was the reddit handle where he is associated to that other sub i can't mention here but you know where i mean. I think that DFV is saying that what started as a fun speculation of the stock became something bigger than himself with his other channel in DFV on reddit. Now the wheels have moved and in the film it ends with the financial institutions being blown up, perhaps something similar metaphorically is already in place right now. It's actually a great analogy from DFV about his situation.

DFV has changed some of the narrators (Red) words in showcase his story of being wrongly accused in 2021 and having the flee out of the spotlight. He talks about pressure and time, he presents a lot of memes he has created over the years and then shows a particular screenshot of one of his streams.
Speculation: This tells DFVs story but also has some juicy parts. I think Red in this is a bit like the reddit crew (us) keeping tabs on his story but DFV is saying to escape like him it takes pressure and time (could be gamma squeeze, could be LEAPS, could be DRS, could be holding and buying, could be ALL of it) but all it takes is time and pressure. The memes he posted i wonder if some of those have found their way into various subs over the last 3 years without any of us knowing it came from DFV. The steam he screenshot has been spoken about a lot this morning but it seems to come from one of his youtube streams when GME last broke $30.

I just finished watching Let It Be, which I hadn’t seen for many years. It struck me how much Billy Preston contributed to the songs and the rooftop concert.
But a few months later, when the band started recording what would be come Abbey Road, I understand that he only played a bit on one or two of the songs. (I read that he played a bit of organ on Somethjng and on I Want You).
What happened? Did the band decide that they didn’t want him anymore? Did he have other engagements that prevented him from continuing with the Beatles?

There's a Japanese rock band called Buck-Tick that, even though they've played a lot of styles in their long history (sadly their vocalist passed away not long ago), has one particular song that sounds to me a lot like MA's Eurochild. It is most probably a direct hommage, since they stated MA as one of their multiple influences, and it was also released in 1995, just one year after Protection.
The title is Aikawarazu no "Are" no Katamari ga Nosabaru Hedo no Soko no Fukidamari, the longest one in all their discography, I think.
