2024.05.14 23:12 Class_of_22 So for those of you here who have seen Eminem live, where & when did you first see him live, & at what venue was it at? Have you gone back to see him multiple times since then?

So I was born on March 10th, 1999, so I wasn’t around when the first 2 albums came out. The Marshall Mathers LP came out when I was 14 months old, and the Eminem Show came out when I was 3. Encore came out when I was 5, Relapse came out when I was 10, and Recovery came out when I was 11. The Marshall Mathers LP 2 came out when I was 14, and Revival came out when I was 18. Kamikaze came out when I was 19, and Music to Be Murdered By came out when I was 20.
So I was raised and live around the NYC Metro/Westchester County area of New York, and I wasn’t around for the first 8 times that he played in this area and in my state. I was too young to go to a lot of the shows that he had done pre-2013, and post 2013 when I was finally old enough to see him, it fell on either a school night or it was a long drive away from me or I was too broke.
Been a fan of Eminem’s since high school, and god I want to see him live someday.

2024.05.13 00:34 EJC28 Colts 2024 Draft Analysis Compilation

Round 1, Pick 15 - Laiatu Latu, DE, UCLA:
NFL: The run on offensive players stops here with the Colts finding an explosive defender in Latu. It's not always about being the biggest and fastest player when it comes to pass rushers, as the UCLA product has mastered the artistry of getting to the quarterback with his first-step quickness and bag of pass-rush moves. His relentless motor should make him a handful for Indy’s opponents.
CBS Sports: B-. I think there were other options for them in this spot and better edge rushers in my mind. But Latu has good pass-rush skills, although there are some medical concerns. They do need edge-rush help.
ESPN: The Colts could have gone several directions with this pick, but they went with a player they had conviction about versus pinpointing a position of greater weakness. Indianapolis had significant pass-rush production last season, with 51 sacks. But instead of moving on to other areas of the roster, the Colts chose to bolster that unit with one of the most productive defensive players in this draft. The Colts are going to have a huge rotation of edge rushers and might even have to rethink a roster spot or two if there's a trade market. As for his past injury history, Latu said Washington's decision to not allow his return from neck surgery in 2020 "wasn't really handled in the best way.".
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Just wants to sit down and have five minutes to himself.
Round 2, Pick 52 - Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas:
NFL: After a mini-slide, Mitchell lands in a Colts offense in need of more firepower. He has the length and speed to be a vertical, jump-ball target for Anthony Richardson and showed a knack for clutch performances in college. Mitchell's lean build and his need for more refinement might cap his early-career production a bit, but he's well worth the risk here.
CBS Sports: A. Love this pick for Colts. Exactly the type they like. Size/speed/athleticism specimen. So fluid running routes. Just can have long stretches where he goes invisible. Very minimal YAC. An outside wideout who can win at second and third levels for Anthony Richardson.
ESPN: Unable to trade up for a receiver in the first round, the Colts traded back a few spots in the second and filled the need with an interesting player with significant upside. Mitchell joins a wide receiver unit in Indianapolis that already has several players with defined roles, so what impact he has as a rookie will depend on how quickly he earns playing time. At minimum, the Colts have increased the competition level at the position and, specifically, put pressure on third-year player Alec Pierce with another speedster in Mitchell who turned in a 4.34-second 40-yard dash at the NFL scouting combine.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Bought himself one of those wacky arm inflatables with his first NIL check.
Round 3, Pick 79 - Matt Goncalves, OT, Pittsburgh:
NFL: Goncalves has played both OT spots, taken reps at center and could be tried at guard in Indy. He's a large-framed man with athletic limitations, but his fierce, disciplined style could make him a valuable super-sub on the O-line.
CBS Sports: A-. Has the frame to stick on the edge in the NFL. Impressive athlete for his size and makes a concerted effort to sink the pad level to not get out leveraged at the point of attack. Better in pass pro than for the run right now but the traits and nastiness shine.
ESPN: The Colts could have gone a number of other directions here, but they opted for offensive line depth despite having all five of their starters returning. Indianapolis traded up three spots to make this selection, suggesting they had targeted Goncalves on their draft board. The question remains as to what position he'll play, seeing how he was a full-time tackle during his college career but is viewed by many as a potential interior lineman.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Swore he saw Elvis and Tupac at a Chipotle in New Mexico.
Round 4, Pick 117 - Tanor Bortolini, C, Wisconsin:
NFL: I like this pick for Chris Ballard and the Colts. Bortolini handled his own at the Senior Bowl, keeping his cool after a few defensive linemen tried to ruffle his feathers in some intense practice reps. Although he slipped through the cracks a bit, Bortolini has a chance to make it as a backup center and insurance for Ryan Kelly.
CBS Sports: C+. One of the freakiest athletes at the center spot in the class. Burst, bend, speed out on screens and reach blocks. That’s how he wins. Has to get drastically strong and hang onto blocks longer in the NFL. Hit or miss climbing to the second level. Arms are shorter. Upside is there but project-y. The type Indianapolis gravitates toward.
ESPN: The Colts' priorities, per usual, remain clear. They have always concentrated on the trenches, and they did it again here. Bortolini is the third lineman drafted by the Colts in their four picks, reinforcing general manager Chris Ballard's philosophy. Here, Bortolini gives the Colts additional offensive line depth and provides potentially reliable depth behind Pro Bowl center Ryan Kelly, who turns 31 next month.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: He claims to have a secret telepathic connection with llamas.
Round 5, Pick 142 - Anthony Gould, WR, Oregon State:
NFL: The Colts' search for playmaking potential continues. Gould is a home run threat who plays about as fast as any receiver not named Xavier Worthy in this class. He also brings punt-return ability.
CBS Sports: B-. Small, tiny radius track type. Really flies. May even play faster than his timed speed. Does a reasonable job making grabs through physicality but not a specialty. Overall YAC skill - - contact balance, cutting skill - - isn’t tremendous. But if he gets to green grass, he’s gone. Wants to get North-South. Vertical specialist.
ESPN: The Colts have now taken a couple swings at adding some juice at wide receiver with this pick and the selection of Adonai Mitchell in the second round. Gould projects as a return man for the Colts, especially given the coming shift with the changes on kickoffs planned for this fall. Gould averaged 18.3 yards per punt return in 2022, third best in the FBS subdivision. Gould had two punt-return touchdowns that season.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Went on strict diet of red bull and sour skittles before the combine.
Round 5, Pick 151 - Jaylon Carlies, S, Missouri:
NFL: Notice the position. Carlies was a three-year starter at safety for the Tigers, but his pre-draft testing -- running a 4.5-second 40-yard dash at nearly 230 pounds -- had scouts scrambling back to the tape to see if a linebacker conversion was possible. The Colts clearly think so, and playing closer to the ball might help Carlies avoid some poor angles to the ball he took from deep safety alignments.
CBS Sports: B-. Enormous safety prospect. Would be sizable for the LB spot. And that’s essentially what he is. Labored-ish movements in coverage but showed nice hip flip when sinking. Really attacks run plays because he knows how imposing of a specimen he is. Just needs to play more under control to not miss as many tackles. Speed is good, not great. Length helps him get to the football when it’s in his target area.
ESPN: Carlies was a productive player at safety in college, but he projects as a linebacker in the Colts' defensive system. Indianapolis asks a great deal of its linebackers in pass coverage, so Carlies could be an ideal fit in that regard. The Colts had some success with a "tweener" last season with Ronnie Harrison Jr. shifting from safety to linebacker, so there is recent precedent for a move like this. The Colts' depth was also a little thin at linebacker, so this addresses a need and protects them in the case of injuries.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: [[Muffled scratching and scraping noises]].
Round 5, Pick 164 - Jaylin Simpson, S, Auburn:
NFL: Simpson figures to be tried as a nickel corner given his serious lack of length and bulk, and injuries complicate his forecast, but his terrific athleticism and versatility help his cause.
CBS Sports: A-. One of those pesky, always-around-the-football Auburn defensive backs we’ve seen enter the league over the past five-plus years. Serious suddenness at the safety spot and robs the middle of the field with plus instincts and ball skills. Big hitter with plus long speed despite skinny frame. Traits type with solid production.
ESPN: The Colts got themselves a possible free safety who snatched four interceptions for the Tigers last season and has played in numerous systems under various coordinators and possesses good range in coverage. Indianapolis has so far resisted the urge to address their secondary in free agency, so there exists the possibility for a rookie to come in and push for playing time alongside veteran strong safety Julian Blackmon.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Pretends to be a character when he plays, Captain Insano is his favorite.
Round 6, Pick 201 - Micah Abraham, CB, Marshall:
NFL: Abraham has NFL bloodlines and outstanding production in college, not to mention nice athletic traits. He's yet another undersized nickel CB type, of which there are plenty in this class, but Abraham might be an ideal practice-squad candidate in Indy.
CBS Sports: C+. Reasonable size, bouncy in zone to make plays on the football. Spindly frame. Plenty of ball production. Athleticism will be tested at the next level. Good speed.
ESPN: The Colts have proceeded through this offseason as though they felt secure in their defensive backfield as presently constituted, despite its youth. But this is a pick that gives them a developmental piece to work with, even though Abraham is undersized and lacks ideal physical traits. His bloodlines are more than notable, however. His dad, Donnie, was a nine-year NFL cornerback and his cousin, Tim Jennings, made two Pro Bowls. Both played cornerback.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Loves Synthwave when it gets increasingly more nostalgic.
Round 7, Pick 234 - Jonah Laulu, DT, Oklahoma:
NFL: Laulu might need a year of adding strength and mass, but his length and twitchy athleticism are plus qualities.
CBS Sports: C. Tall, somewhat sleek interior rusher with great length. Can occasionally win with first-step quicks but not a trademark, and he leans into offensive lineman, which can make him susceptible to beaten controlled. Pass-rush plans have to evolve.
ESPN: The Colts appear to be taking a flier on a player with physical traits they covet, a long interior defensive lineman who perhaps can provide depth behind the team's experienced veterans. Laulu played six years of college ball, spending the first four at Hawaii before transferring to Oklahoma.
NFL Absolutely Not Fake News: Wanted to be a skilled street fighter taking on the criminals across NYC.

2024.05.08 15:32 DavidJordan98 Where is Barney's work place?

Since the episode of "the best burger in NYC", as soon as I recall, we know that Barney is working for GNB, but in season one it mentioned that he works for AltruCell and help Marshall get an internship there, that somehow helps him with money for the wedding, but later he stops working there and than come back to work with Barney in GNB but not AltruCell, although we know Barney never changed jobs and Marshall didn't work or was an intern on GNB, but later works for them like he never worked with, but he twice worked with Barney, I know it's a little bit confusing how I tell this, but how could it be? It's like there are two story arcs, Im so confused 🤦🏿‍♂️

2024.05.06 22:30 steve_jams_econo Smallest 40-50 watt JMP-alike?

Hey Gang,
I know I'm reaching for the holy grail here but before I just embrace the inevitable and buy a Friedman Smallbox 50 or something, wanted to see if there was anything in the collective wisdom I was missing here.
Per the preferred format:
Country/Region - Based in the US (NYC)
Budget - 2k?
Genre/Style - I'm playing pop rock in a band in Brooklyn. I play a Yamaha SG and my style is pulled from guys from the late 70s (Pretenders, Pat Benetar, Blondie, Police, The Cars, etc.). I'm looking for something manageable in that late 70s Master Volume JMP kind of sound and feel before it went full modded-Marshall. So has the kerrang and the stiffness, but with that characterful Marshall clean when dialing down the volume knob. Also needs an effects loop for delays.
Volume/Size Requirement - 35+ Watts Tube. I've found that anything less than that and the tone gets mushy. Since we're in small venues here I'm pushing it with that wattage but that seems to be the only way to get 'that' sound and as long as it has a good master volume I can deal.
As an added limitation, I am on foot in Brooklyn often and try to use small/lightweight gear. I have a Barefaced 1x12 cabinet that sounds excellent and weighs nothing, so I've tried to pair it with similarly small heads accordingly. I'm recognizing that what I want may require the big iron, though...
Stuff I've tried and why it didn't work:
Victory RK50 - Great sounding amp, but the single tone knob doesn't cut it for me. Far too dark and impossible to dial in the kind of bite I want without extensive external EQing.
Victory Countess Mk2 - Too American sounding and the lead channel is kind of mushy and modern.
Victory Sheriff 22 - Right tonality, but gets mushy at the volumes I need for it. Most unfortunate.
Clean Amps with Pedals - Nope.
So -- What are we thinking? Origin 50? DSL50? Friedman? Is there ANYTHING that weighs less than 30 pounds and does what I'm looking for?

2024.05.04 20:39 IvoShandor 5 Boro Bike Tour in Central Park (sunday)

Anybody know if the east side of CP will be blocked off tomorrow as many of the streets in NYC are for the 5BBT? Prior years some of the course marshals were giving non 5BBT participants a bad time for being on the road (either bike or pedestrian) .... didn't seem as "share the road" friendly as the NYRR events. NYPD seemed to stay out of it, so not sure if it's their official position or policy on it?

2024.04.30 03:58 information_maven [Landlord - US - NYC] URGENT - Current timeline for a Marshall in Brooklyn

Hi everyone, my family is in a nightmarish situation with a basement apartment in our home and a crazy tenant; we've been in housing court. What does the current timeline look like when a tenant doesn't vacate after they signed an agreement in mediation? For example, if they agree in court to vacate tomorrow, April 30th, but then don't leave. I need an approximate idea of what's going on with marshalls, etc, right now. How many weeks/months from start to finish? We live in Brooklyn and we would hugely appreciate any info, it's a very confusing system. Only serious replies please- I already know NYC housing laws are really awful, no need to pile on about that.

2024.04.27 09:46 MartyMcfleek Confessions of a Clone

Everyone assuming this album is going to be about Marshall Mathers shedding his Slim Shady persona for good, you're way off.
I have sources withing the federal government. This album is part of a larger project, a sort of social conditioning to bring people to terms with the fact that many, if not most of, the celebrities, business leaders and politicians we see are in fact CLONES.
We will hear a track that describes the events leading up to, and in horrific detail, the real life death of Marshall Bruce Mathers. This is what Em always meant when he said he sold his soul to the devil. He died in a fatal single vehicle car accident in the early morning hours of April 22nd 2006. While the reason for the cover up had a remained a mystery until now, it was clear his death was suspicious and wreaked of foul play.
This was less than two weeks after Proof was murdered. TPTB weren't happy with the direction Eminem was headed. He was supposed to be a tool to be used to control the minds of suburban millennials, but he became an unpredictable drug addict, and his previous major label release was mediocre at best ( Encore was intentionally bad, btw, as a fuck-you to the CIA and the label). To show him how serious they were about controlling him and his music, they had his best friend killed. Em was distraught, and with so much pressure from his shadow govt handlers and the media, he tried to skip town unnoticed. He rented a Saturn Vue SUV and planned to leave Detroit for NYC where he was going to blow the lid off the government's involvement, through the CIA and other less public agencies, to brainwash the youth. He was going to go against Dre and Interscope records and give up everything to make it right, so Proof didn't die in vain. He never made it to the Big Apple.
Initially they were going to make this out to be a tragic ending to a brilliant but troubled artist. But there simply wasn't enough quality music in the vault to milk his legacy for the executives, so they covered up the death, scared his family into silence, and began working with a special access research project being run out of the University of Washington. They had developed human cloning tech nearly a decade prior and there were many public figures that were already successfully integrated into society at the time. It was decided by the director of the CIA that Eminem was too big an asset to let die, and the version we got on Relapse was the first recording session we got from the original clone. There were bugs in the AI interface that took his most popular dark bangers like 97 BC, Kim, Stan and Drips and the programming decided that it was an actual serial killer, so for roughly two years this thing walked around talking in accents and dreaming of mutilating pop stars and Relapse is what we got. Some of the more emotional tracks were real Eminem pre-death recordings to even out the craziness.
This is all explained in the title track, which is track 3 of a 32 song double album in which the entire Cloning program is laid out to the world. The movie 'They Cloned Tyrone' was phase 1 of this reveal. It is unclear why disclosure is happening now but my sources say the international military tensions on multiple continents play a major role. There are more revelations throughout the album, such as the existence of NHI, the impending comet strike, Kendrick response, and more.
This isn't a concept album. It is a confession.

2024.04.26 17:39 stimmtnicht Charity and Dotun on Bachelor Happy Hour

Darity were the BHH guests this week. Here are some of the highlights. You can find the link here.
Washington DC: The interview aired this week, but actually happened around 4/13 because Dotun/Charity were being interviewed remotely from DC. Charity was the Grand Marshall of the Cherry Blossom Festival. GSJ embarrassed himself chiming in how much he loves cherries from Washington. Serena had to explain to him that the DC cherry blossom trees aren’t used for actual cherries, and Joe realized that the cherries he’s thinking about probably come from Washington State!
Breast surgery: they cut right to the chase, as Joe prodded Serena to ask Charity whether she wants to talk about her recent cosmetic surgery. C was open about it. Said she’s wanted breast augmentation surgery for about 10 years now, since late high school, early college. She’s really glad she did it, just in time for summer.
Family Feud: it was a very fun weekend. Darity, Jelsey and Zaity played against Gerry, Theresa and their kids. Steve Harvey was hilarious during the off-camera moments; he really knows how to work a crowd. Darity said it’s much harder to play than expected; they overthought some of the questions. They have a good friendship with Jelsey and Zaity, a great support system, because all of them went through the same process. Dotun described Charity as the glue that connects the three couples. It’s not awkward. Everyone has moved on.
Kelsey: They love Kelsey. Charity says K is a hoot, very funny. Dotun describes Kelsey as such a good person.
Zach: Darity said that Zach “may be one of the nicest guys in Bachelor Nation” and the most misunderstood. Ppl think Zach is mean or serious based on filming but that's the furthest from the truth. Z is one of the goofiest guys with a big personality, and he’s so genuine. Dotun loves him and Joey equally. He would have 1000% been friends with Z if they met outside of BN.
Anniversary: Darity’s one year engagement anniversary is coming up at the end of this month. [I think it’s 4/30?]
Dotun’s work: he’s swamped. They didn’t ask specifically what he does for work but he said he’s juggling so much right now, with work and partaking in the BN commitments.
Travel/vacation: Darity have been traveling a lot for commitments, but not really vacationing. They have a shoot coming up in Grenada. They have no idea where that is, but it’s not Grenada Spain - probably the Carribean Island. They’re going to Hawaii with Jelsey & Zaity. And Darity have a trip to Greece in a few weeks. [Did the show gift them a trip to Greece?]
Jenn: Charity was excited to announce Jenn as the new Bachelorette, but she noticed that the audience was surprised. The crowd paused after Charity announced it; they were expecting Maria to be announced. Charity thinks the process will challenge Jenn, especially because of her relatively young age. Charity says that Jenn is 25; Grocerna say 26/27. [I think Grocerena are correct.]
NYC: Darity live in Brooklyn and have been trying to convince Jelsey to move there too. But they think Kelsey is more of a Manhattan, center of the action person, and that Joey is more of a Brooklyn person. They think Manhattan will win out for Jelsey. Dotun loves Brooklyn. They go out a lot there, but often have to go to Manhattan for work. Charity would like somewhere in between Brooklyn and Manhattan. [Charity, there is no in between unless you live on a bridge, in a tunnel or on a houseboat. Lol!]
ETA: I forgot their wedding plans!
Wedding: She doesn’t know what dress yet, but has narrowed down the designers and how many she’ll be wearing. They’ve decided on the locations, but need to check out the venues. They’re doing two weddings. [I’m guessing in the US & in Nigeria.] They’re looking to get married next year.
ETA: It was actually Joe who said that Zach is the nicest guy in BN, but they all agreed.

2024.04.23 15:02 RedundantCapybara What frag stores to visit in NYC, SF, San Diego and Boston

I will be going to the US from Australia for a couple of weeks to visit SF, San Diego, Boston and NYC. I love realistic sweet gourmand perfumes and warm ambery vanillas. Some examples of my favourites include: Jousset Accident a la Vanille & le gourmand, imaginary authors whiff of waffle cone, Killian Angels' Share, Kerosene Followed, Montale chocolate greedy, Snif Crumb Couture.
I'm wondering what are the best stores in those cities to visit to sample and buy more perfumes like that?
I already have Sephora, Ulta, TJ Maxx, bath & body works, and Marshall's on my list but are there any places I need to hit up in any of those cities?
Bonus points of you can help me find somewhere to sample the Theodoros Kalotinis range as that's not available at home.
