My wife and I will be in Seaside next week for vacation with her family. I’m looking for a date night idea that’s also a break from the rest of the family. Restaurants are great, but other experiences are also certainly welcome. I guess I’m also looking for something unique to the Gulf Coast. We live in a west coast beach city, so it would be nice to get something we can’t get at home.

Hi all! Planning me and my partner’s first Europe trip, and they’re interested in Paris, Nice, and Naples. I believe one of the big draws is the Amalfi Coast. We’re mostly into walking, sightseeing, and trying the local cuisine. Historical landmarks are interesting but not a primary draw.
Curious what feedback this sub has, and whether this is a good/bad combination and if it makes sense from a logistics, experience, and cultural variety standpoint. Any cities or areas that we’d be skipping over with this combination of cities?

Hello everyone just kinda relaxing after the busy weekend. Hope everyone had a good weekend! So I find myself relaxing but also wanting to play some games or chat with people.
I'll give some details about myself first here like as the title states I'm 29 years old living on the west coast and I currently work from home so I actually usually have a ton of time to chat throughout the day as work isn't completely time consuming. I have two dogs and two cats which I can spam you with pictures of them if you'd like.
As for games I'm currently getting back into League but I don't play a ton of ranked mostly just normals/aram among with tft and the random game modes they bring by. I'm also very much into FFXIV as I spend a lot of time raiding there.i also habe tons of steam games likes DBD, Risk of Rain 2, and GTFO. I'm also always down to try random games of they peak my interest!
I also love watching anime anything from older stuff from the 80s and 90s to currently airing anime. I just started dungeon meshi and it's absolutely hilarious I'm loving it so much! I'm also keeping up weekly right now with kaiju no 8 and go go loser Rangers. I've got a hell of a list I need to catch up on so if anyone wants to join me for that it would be greatly appreciated!
Horror movies and the paranormal and cryptic/cryptid stuff also catches my interest and I'll spend hours upon hours researching stuff just because one little detail peaked my interest and I become a pseudo expert in a matter of hours in said subject lol. So if you live cheesy shitty horror movies or the horror greats and anything in between we should seriously watch some movies together! That or talk endlessly about why Bigfoot and the lochness monster are in cahoots and plotting to get rich by seeking pictures of themselves to people as a joke.
So yeah if any of this interests you just send me a chat I have other platforms to chat on which I prefer to use. But anyone who's read this far hope you have a wonderful day or night!

We have a 2023 Adventure rs1 and just came back from a ride up the West Coast of Vancouver Island where the roads are curvy and bumpy. Folks sitting in the back row we're constantly getting whiplash no matter how slow or cautious we drove. What's the best drive train setting in your opinion?

Had my CDL since 2019, clean record, no accidents, no tickets, no inspections. I do have an automatic restriction however.
Looking for something solo and OTR. A company that provides decent, upgraded equipment. I can run pneumatic, reefer, box and flatbed. I prefer the NW/West coast. Also would like a company that doesn’t govern the truck to shit haha.
Don’t really care about home time.

Hey all,
I (37m, single) booked my first trip to Chicago today for the last weekend in July to see the premier of the new midnight in the garden of good and evil musical (gay, I know) but I realized after booking that I've only planned one full day of things to do.
I'm flying in from the West Coast on Thursday evening, staying in North River, close to the red line to ensure easy access to both downtown and boystown. The only solid things is going to the art institute on Friday during the day then to the show that evening.
So my question is, I have Saturday and Sunday free, along with Thursday evening, and Monday morning (hotel check out at noon, I'll grab lunch between the hotel and the airport on my way there), so what are your recommendations? Gay or otherwise. I'm not big on super touristy stuff, but I do want to get a taste of Chicago life while I'm there.

Hey there, I'm Casey! I've been trying to come out of my shell recently and put myself out into the dating scene. I'm quite awkward at first and not great at opening up until I feel comfortable so please give me the chance to do that.
I love music and tend to listen to a wide variety to keep things fresh, I also do what I can to listen to new music to keep constantly expanding my musical tastes. I also really enjoy playing indie games (mostly platformers and rougelikes) and am always a fan of having someone to talk to while I'm playing those games. When I have free time and am not too drained from work I like to bake tasty treats, (french macarons & palmiers are some of my faves) and read books that pique my interest. The current book I'm reading is "Kill Everything That Moves" it's a book about the war crimes and tragedies committed by the USA during the Vietnam war.
I tend to think of myself as someone who is very thoughtful and patient, I also love to take life one step at a time as I don't see a need to be in a rush to get things done. REVIEW- Alaska Airlines Boston to Portland in First class (5/24/2024)

Last Friday, May 24th, I flew First Class from Boston to Portland nonstop on Alaska airlines. On the Portland to Boston flight 4 days before, despite being MVP Gold, I didn’t even get a Premium seat. I had gotten my hopes up, because I sat at #1 on the First-Class upgrade list the whole day before, until about 6 pm when I plummeted to #12. Oh, well. I didn’t get my hopes up the day before I came home, as I was #3.
I was surprised that evening when I checked and I had been upgraded to my favorite seat -2A. Sometimes the upgrade gods smile when you least expect it.
Check in at Logan the next morning was a breeze. Despite the Armageddon-style warnings that Friday, May 24 would be the most awful travel day in recorded history, when I got off the bus from the rental car center, there were no crazed throngs, just folks walking to check-in like any other day.
The CLEAR line had a few folks peering into their retinal readers, so I used plain old TSA PreCheck. There were maybe 8 fliers in front of me. I quickly went through without any issues and it was time for a quick coffee. I am a member of Alaska’s Lounge Plus, and I often use the Admiral’s Club access it gives me, but I didn’t have time to wander (I thought!) down to their Club at B4 as it was almost 6:00 am and my flight was out of B36 at 6:20 am. I found a good place to stand and waited to board. 6:20 came and went, then a few moments came the dreaded “checking something on the aircraft” announcement. Great.
Priority group finally boarded at 6:50. I slid into my comfortable, familiar seat. This 737-800 still had the classic cloth pattern on the bulkhead; the top row always reminds me of a 1980s computer lab with seats, tables and giant monitors for your 286!

On each seat was a lightweight blanket sealed in plastic. No box of water on this flight, though.

in 52 years of flying, I have never once been cold on a plane, so off to the side it went. Our flight attendant came by offering water in a cup, but nothing else before takeoff.
We lifted off at 7:17. We headed east over the harbor and the Atlantic, then made a wide left turn, came back over land, and headed northwest. As I enjoyed the clear weather and the rolling scenery, our FA came by and checked on my breakfast order and offered the first drink service. I enjoyed the new Stumptown Roasters blend, a local Portland roaster who recently replaced Starbucks as the coffee on Alaska. It’s good, but I have had Starbucks for 20 years on Alaska, so it will take some getting used to.
I enjoyed looking out the window and seeing ski resorts in Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and upstate New York. I logged onto Alaska’s Wi-Fi to see our route. We were to leave New York and fly over Lake Ontario, north of Toronto, then over Kingston, Ontario, across Ontario, Lake Huron and then re-enter US airspace in Michigan’s UP.
That’s why I always carry my passport, just in case…..No need today, happily.
Breakfast arrived and I enjoyed my frittata at 34,000 feet over Canada.

The entrée was warm, as were the sausage and potatoes. The fruit (orange segments, grapes, and cantaloupe) was cold. The blueberry muffin was warm and crumbly. I needed a fork for it. It was delicious, and the cold yogurt went well with the fruit. Another coffee and it was nap time.
I slept thru the next snack/beverage service, but I remember smelling decadent popcorn when my seatmate in 2C opened the “Lesser Evil” popcorn. When I woke up, our flight attendant (and I kick myself for not noticing/remembering his name, but I was exhausted on this trip) asked if I wanted a snack and/or a beverage. I asked about the popcorn he said he had one left. That and an ice water hit the spot. I noticed our flight attendant made many trips to folks behind me refilling drinks.
I listened to songs my ancient iPod, surfed Alaska’s excellent collection movies and TV shows and catnapped. Soon enough, the view outside was the Idaho mountains. I watched as we glided over Washington’s Tri Cities, then Hermiston, Oregon and began our descent over the Columbia River. Then the Captain announced that PDX was down to one runway, so they were slowing us down. Instead of flying due west, skirting the north slope of Mt. Hood as usual
and making a straight on approach to 28L, we took a left turn and leisurely flew over Clackamas County, eventually flying over Gresham from the south, then a left turn for our approach.
We were only 15 minutes late at the gate, so I had time to freshen up in the Alaska Lounge, have a coffee and some ham and cheese on a roll before the baggage arrived. The lounge in Portland is small but comfortable, with expanded seating out into the C terminal. My bag was in the first third or so, and it was time to drive home.

I am scheduled to make the same flight in June. I hope it is just as pleasurable. While not Emirates-level, Alaska First Class is relaxing and an enjoyable way to endure a coast-to-coast flight. Their service is top notch and always friendly and accommodating. I hope the upgrade gods smile again in June.

UNC's Athletic Director admitted that at ACC spring meetings a six team expansion was planned to replace FSU and Clemson. No word on which teams, but a three or four regional division national conference was said in the next sentence, and you dont get a west coast regional division with only two teams on the west coast....
The new conspiracy theory is Stanford and Cal stay in the Pac-12 so they can split the the Pac-12 "treasure chest". The Pac-12 accepts SDSU, CSU, SMU, and Tulane (and possibly Gonzaga as a non football member) and becomes an associate partner of the ACC through 2028 when the schools will be absorbed into the ACC. The Pac-12 uses Pac 12 Enterprises to produce the games on the west coast. On August 2nd the Pac contains 8 schools, so they should keep their A5 status.
Everyone plays their existing schedules through the 2024-45 season.
The ACC wants the Pac to exist in enough of a fashion that Calford and WOSU can keep the Pac money and can exist on getting 1/3 and 1/4 shares of the media money through 2029 - because the rest of the ACC is expecting to have their money slashed after FSU and Clemson leave. So if they can get 9 new teams (new 6 plus CalFord and SMU) to play with them for only 2-2.5 media shares (and half CFP payouts) the ACC "old guard" can still make decent money
Would the Beav's and Coug's be better off as a poverty partner of the ACC?
