I'm a 7 year Cast Iron Veteran, and I'm here to tell all of you that even the best of us (and I include myself in that grouping) can do a little oopsie from time to time.
Case in Point: last night I burned my fingies.
Why?
How?
It's because I did not follow the #1 Rule of Cast Iron.
No, not the one about soap. Cripes, not the one about acidic food either. Neither of those matter.

Always assume every Cast Iron is hot.

My wife was in the kitchen and I asked her to preheat the oven. I thought my iron was already in the oven, and like any good pansexual, I like my iron to be evenly heated.
Well anyway, after a half hour, I go in the kitchen to start cooking when I noticed that my pan was still on top of the stove, and cold.
So I went to put it in the oven and it wouldn't go in all the way, and it turns out my small cast iron was in there.
This is where my squirrel-brain crossed its wires and assured me that, because the iron in my hands was cold, then the iron in the oven must also be cold.
Wrong!
But anyway, I reached right into the hot oven and grabbed ahold of the handle of a skillet that had preheated to 450°F (232°C in non-Freedoms).
This resulted in a major ouchy.
The only real explanation here is that my brain just decided not to think properly.
It's worth pointing out that I've had home-repair issues, financial issues, and health issues, and scheduling issues this past 10 days and have been a little stressed and not operating at 100%, and that probably contributed.
Nevertheless, it was an absolutely boneheaded move on my part. I'm 36 —aren't I supposed to have learnt this lesson at age 6?
My fingies hurt, and there's a pretty sick burn on my thumb pad - probably the #3 most painful & least convenient place to have a burn.

I was wondering what unique technique could have been taught to Naruto that could have carried part 1 for him.
The setting: month of training before the finals.
Reasoning: Jiraiya gave Naruto the toad contract and didn't really did anything one could call teaching. Naruto was supposed to face Neji, not Shukaku, so Naruto should have been taught a technique that could help him fight Neji, not summon a mountain sized toad every once in a blue moon when all stars align and Naruto uses a ton of Kyûbi's chakra.
Technique: instead of or on top of signing the toad contract (since the best he got out of it until summoning Gamakichi was a tadpole and neither a tadpole nor Gamakichi could help fight Neji), Naruto learns the Lion Mane technique.
Result: with the Lion Mane technique, Naruto counters Neji's entire fighting style. He has an organic defense like Gaara's sand but the hair is also thick, soft and can become spiky without even using needle jizô which is another technique.
With this, Neji would be unable to access Naruto's body to deal damage and Naruto's clones would also be protected in the same way. His mane could be used as a massive whip like a grass Pokémon (vine whip, power whip), like a soft shield that doesn't care about being pierced unlike Kakuzu's dome technique or Jirôbô's actual earth dome. Neji can always use rotation to try and negate incoming attacks, but rotation takes like 25% of his chakra reserves in the chûnin finals (less in the Sasuke retrieval arc, he probably got more efficient and increased his chakra tank). Naruto and his clones can use Lion's Mane for hours at a time. Naruto massively outlasts Neji.
In the Gaara pursuit, well, honestly genin shouldn't even be expected to be sent after the vessel of Shukaku with sand magnet. If the Lee vs Gaara fight wasn't enough of a hint, then the adults are not shinobi, they're monkeys in human meat suits (just like anyone watching Hidan draw his ritualistic circle and do his thing without trying to cancel it, like blowing the dust away or cracking the flooground to break the circle, something any 12 YO would think about in a second).
Even then, if Naruto still has the toad contract, he can beg Kyûbi to give him chakra and summon Gamabunta who wouldn't want Konoha to be destroyed, but beforehand Naruto would be fighting Gaara on a much more equal ground thanks to his defensive technique.
Tsunade rescue arc: rasengan is pretty pointless here except as a chakra control exercise. Lion's Mane makes Naruto much less vulnerable to Kabuto who basically has no gap closer nor any ranged technique. If he still learns rasengan, he can make it while protected by a ton of hair and use any combination of clones' hair to grab Kabuto, pull his limbs away from each other and get a free shot at rasengan, maybe even a second, third and fourth one if Kabuto keeps pulling bullshi.t heals in advance out of his ass. At some point Naruto ends up killing him, Tsunade never has to bring him back from near death and Naruto starts becoming renowned for beating opponents much more skilled and experienced than himself.
Without rasengan, Kabuto can't hit him nor anyone under his protection due to constant int-hair-ference and gives up on fighting Naruto, Tsunade and Shizune. Kabuto, just like Neji, can't do anything but play a battle of attrition betweeb hairdresser and infinitely growing hair trying to grab him and incapacitate him. If Kabuto is caught and his limbs immobilized, he's pretty much going to be ragdolled by slamming him against the ground until his face looks like Mizuki's after the 1000 clones battering he took.
Sasuke retrieval arc: nothing changes until Naruto fights for real. Kimimaro can still kill him easily no matter Naruto's skillset because Kimimaro scales to Orochimaru if not higher (his ninjutsu scales above, but his taijutsu and kenjutsu are capped by his condition at mid jônin level).
Against Sasuke, Naruto claps and it's not even a fight. Sasuke only has fireball technique, which he won't be likely to use once Naruto has him grabbed unless he wants to burn himself. Chidori is totally irrelevant in this fight and neither toads nor rasengan are needed. Naruto's clones stomp Sasuke without being damage beyond the first surprise fireball (Kishimoto tm, characters never expect the first counterattack even when they know the entire skillset of their opponent).
Sasuke is wrapped and brought back to Konoha like a hairy spring roll.
Part 1 ends, Naruto hasn't lost a fight since Orochimaru and can now improve his skillset further, for example by adding needle jizô, using wind chakra on his mane to change it into a giant organic whip-scythe with which he could cut Deidara or Hidan in 2 parts, counter Kakuzu's black threads, cut his masks from a distance, shield his allies and himself with a furball and counter with needle jizô. Maybe even apply wind chakra to needle jizô and create a piercing gattling. Who needs 5 million paper bombs when you can use an infinite uses gattling gun with complete 360° defense and attack simultaneously?

Phone: Oppo Find X3 Pro So I have been using BeReal for about a year, and recently so many bugs have been popping up. First off, if I open BeReal from any notification, the app is a black screen and I get a popup after a few seconds saying that it isn't responding. I then have to close it and open from the app drawer. Secondly, the first BeReal I take never gets posted, it just vanishes and prompts me to take a BeReal, then when I tap on the button to take one, the timer is in negative numbers - as example, "-1:-23". Thirdly, when I tap to go to the custom RealMoji unlock screen, it doesn't show the requirements, hence I can't invite friends to unlock it. Last, scrolling through my feed is laggy and glitchy, and sometimes it just stops scrolling and I have to wait several seconds. Thank you for listening to my rant, and hopefully these get fixed in the future. P.S. none of these bugs existed when I first installed the app, they have all popped up since.

So, I’m still fairly new to prompting and character creation with ST, and there’s kind of a lot of different POTENTIAL places to put character and scenario data.
I’m trying to get a feel for where best to do so for things that have developed in a long-term scenario but aren’t exactly “World Book Info”. But at the same time, some characters are already 1800+ tokens, so I hesitate to use Description.
Let me give you a couple examples. Imagine a fantasy kingdom scenario:

• As I introduce new characters and settings - like the head knight- it seems logical that I make a World Book for that stuff.
• If the character in the main card loses an arm or gets knighted, that would go in the description.

But what if you have:

• a character who is already a maid, but you’ve clarified over the scenario they’re a scullery maid?
  
• character used to be your rival, but you’re slowly earning their respect? Or you took a blow for them in a fight and they want to repay you eventually?
  
• a specific turn of phrase that is meaningful at the time that they’ve forgotten by the time you call back to it (I had an alien describe relationships as 1 times peace - 5 times peace and she forgot by the time I tried to be friends!)
  

It’s not stuff I necessarily need to have sent in every prompt, but it’s also either slightly too esoteric or broad to make a good keyword for use in a world book.
I’d love to hear advice if people have it.

So my interest to try golf for real has once again taken over. And there are golf courses that you can play without a license, great! Only there are two problems with that.

1. There is no good list of golf courses, in germany, where you can play without a license. There are some lists, but they're either terribly made or they don't tell a whole lot about the license free part of the golf course or both.
2. When you visit the websites of the individual golf courses often they don't really tell you a lot so you don't really know what to expect.

So that's why I came here in the hopes that german golf players might enlighten me with their own experiences so that I don't arrive there to nasty suprises. What I'm looking for in order from most important point to least important point:

1. The golf course should be in Baden-Württemberg or Bavaria so that I don't have to drive too far
2. A good website that clearly tells me everything I need to know. How much does it cost? How many holes are there for players without a license? How much does renting clubs cost? What do I have to pay if one ends up broken?
3. Often golf courses have extra holes for players without a license that are a bit more noob friendly, I'd prefer if they are as close to real holes as possible.
4. 9 holes would be absolutely amazing, I don't mind spending an entire day

I didn't think my company's needs were so unique, but I haven't found too many options for the following use case:

1. We sell manufacturing software to a not-so-tech savvy demographic.
   
2. Our technicians cannot keep up with our customers' training demands and we struggle to recruit more technicians for our niche industry.
   
3. Video training resources for our product are scarce, pdfs are more plentiful, but anything that exists is scattered all over the internet.
   
4. We want to focus on producing more video content (micro-learning) as well as gathering all the written documentation that's floating out there into one place.
   
5. The goal is to collect all these resources into one platform that can organize the video content into specific learning tracks AND/OR the platform has such powerful search capability that our learners can pinpoint not just the specific resource they need to help them, but also the exact timestamp in the video or section of the pdf.
   
6. To accomplish the above, the tool would need to be able to generate automatic transcripts of the videos that are searchable.
   
7. We are favoring interactive knowledge base functionality over LMS functionality. In other words, we can live without gamification and certificate courses as long as customers can easily access all of our content with sophisticated relevancy.
   

I believe that Absorb pretty much does this but it comes with so many other bells and whistles we don't really need and don't want to pay for.

I’m sorry if this isn’t the right place to put this but I just want to know if I’m fucking crazy. I matched with this guy on bumble a few months ago I swear things felt perfect and just flowed naturally like we’ve known each other for a while. It was a breath of fresh air… I’m a full time student as well as a caregiver for my grandmother so I’m pretty busy but I still made time to hang out with him even if it were a late night or early morning. I'm currently taking biochemistry 1 at uni, the first block (proteins) is done and have been a lot of fun. We started (and ended) the whole metabolism block this week but I'm very overwhelmed and tbh a bit scared which doesnt help with learning it. How do you make it stick? Came back after a long time and bit of hiatus. And let's just say I've always had a peculiar taste for specific roleplays or fandoms. Lately for long time bit of more monsterly craving. And when I say that I don't mean some boring ass human with only wolf or cat ears or horns and call that a monster or different race. No that's just dumbass wearing a accessory pretty much and a wannabe.
Yes we have dark elves, werewolves, vampires and some other but where are my fans and lovers of fantasy races or better yet eldritch gods and goddesses? Am I the only one here that loves the idea of pairing a regular human character with something older then known universe, the wild fire that can never be put down and watch just how the chaotic the pairing can get. The love of the horror that came from the void transcending time and space for their love driving them into brims of insanity.
As big fan of fantasy, slown burns, wholesome yet oddly horrifying and mortal and immortal pairings and even bigger for mythos and Lovercraft's work, and with sucker for love offering that I've been wishing to try out such a play. Be it perhaps a fandom of Sucker for love or do a whole world building of our own characters.

(Yes, it's like that movie but bit different style) because he's into that kind of spooky, mysterious shit and might save his carrier he uses his contacts to permit him taking note and tapes of the mansion while staying there his nights to find whether the myths about it are real and what truly went behind the walls.

Hi all, this will be my first attempt at a mild PC build/modification, and I am trying to keep it on a very tight budget of $300-400. The primary purpose of this PC will be as a Plex server and media storage. I will be running Freemake to convert video files from time to time, and hope to run some very light video editting eventually. Is the i5 to i7 worth the $50 jump? Can I install a GPU on this? How difficult would that be? Windows 11 compatible? Is there anything glaringly wrong with my hopes and aspirations?
I am not a PC gamer and generally use my HP Spectre X360 i7 4K from 2018 for most tasks, but even running Youtube + Plex Media Server on here has become a hassle. Already have a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Thanks in advance. Really looking forward to any suggestions.
