Hi, I'm doing the tasks for Freshmen in MyPortal and need some help 🥹 I've sent an email to student admin but haven't not received any reply. Hope you guys can help me with these wonders: 1. DBS Card Application: I understand that to apply for a DBS card, a student pass is required. Does this mean I will need to wait until July to proceed with this application?
  1. Interbank Giro Details: I am aware that this requires information from the DBS card. Can I wait until after I have obtained my DBS card to complete this section? Since the form needs to be printed and requires the bank's completion, it seems I will need to be in Singapore to finalize it.
  2. MO7 Completed Form (ICA Medical Report): I have not found a section on MyPortal to upload the completed MO7 form. Could you please guide me on where and how to submit this document?
Thanks all!

2024.06.09 14:05 ArmyOfMemories The ADL is an anti-Palestinian hate group that promotes 'replacement theory' in Israel while condemning it in America.

Thesis

Sources:

Elaboration

The ADL promotes 'replacement theory' in Israel, while condemning it in America.
Awhile back, the ADL put out a hasbara handbook - a guide to advocating for Israel.
In the handbook, on pages 59-60, the ADL espouses views that are word-for-word taken from 'replacement theory'.
Excerpt:
A bi-national state, in principle and in practice, would mean the ideological end of the Jewish State of Israel and lead to the forsaking of Jewish nationalism and identity, along with its special status as a refuge for Jews fleeing persecution.
Furthermore, bi-nationalism is unworkable given current realities and historic animosities. With historically high birth rates among the Palestinians, and a possible influx of Palestinian refugees and their descendants now living around the world, Jews would quickly be a minority within a bi-national state, thus likely ending any semblance of equal representation and protections. In this situation, the Jewish population would be increasingly politically – and potentially physically – vulnerable.
It is unrealistic and unacceptable to expect the State of Israel to voluntarily subvert its own sovereign existence and nationalist identity and become a vulnerable minority within what was once its own territory.
  • Alarmism about 'birth rates' = ✅
  • Alarmism about immigration = ✅
  • Alarmism about the demographic majority becoming a minority and losing its privileged status = ✅
  • Equating the privilege of being a demographic majority with 'sovereign existence' (which in-turn negates the existence and/or concerns, agency, progress, etc. of the Out-group) = ✅
All of this is typical 'replacement theory' talking-points.
A commentator on Twitter points out that the ADL uses the same rhetoric as American and European ultra-nationalists, who fear-monger about PoC and immigrants.

The interplay between right-wing nationalism & support for Israel

The ADL's primary purpose now is to defend Israel's apartheid regime.
Note how Rep. Stefanik is pictured in the ADL tweet. She is the one leading the charge right now with these public antisemitism inquisitions of college administrators.
Right-wing nationalists support Israel because they want to emulate Israel's policies towards Palestinians (as a stand-in for immigrants, PoC, leftists, etc.).
A study on European antisemitism found that xenophobes (who rated higher in antisemitism) tend to support Israel due to its immigration policies. Whereas those critical of Israeli policy were less xenophobic & less antisemitic.
Since Zionism is a form of cult-like nationalism, it's no surprise that the ADL would adopt 'replacement theory' talking-points when discussing their concerns about the political agency of the Jewish demographic majority in Israel.
In order to maintain that demographic majority, Israel uses discriminatory legislation & enormous State violence.
A lot of Zionists obfuscate what Zionism means now (for all practical purposes) by signaling some support/empathy for Palestinians. So the primary question one must ask, is whether you support a Jewish demographic majority in Israel.
If the answer is 'yes' - then you're justifying massive discrimination & violence against the Palestinian out-group. It no longer matters what games one plays with the 'definition' of 'Zionist'.
Get straight to the functional point. Are you morally consistent?

The ADL, Mike Pompeo, and the Jewish National Fund

Peter Beinart, in a discussion with FMEP's Lara Friedman & political strategist Rania Batrice, talks about how the ADL supports discriminatory policies in Israel that it would never support in America.
Peter notes that Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the ADL, has to 'code-switch' when advocating for Israel, for this very reason. Whereas, someone like Mike Pompeo, who is also a cultish nationalist, is more forthcoming in what he wants for America (a Christian nationalist State).
For Pompeo, it's perfectly fine to support an analog to the Jewish National Fund (JNF) in America (ie a hypothetical Christian National Fund; an organization that would support land access/development for Christians only). Greenblatt would lose his mind if a CNF existed in America - but he won't propose abolishing the JNF in Israel.
In Israel, the government controls 93 percent of the land¹ - directly or indirectly through quasi-governmental bodies like the Development Authority (DA) or the JNF. But all of it is administered by a governmental body, the Israel Land Administration (ILA).
The JNF's mandate is to develop land folease land to Israeli Jews, so 13% of the land in Israel excludes Palestinian citizens of Israel & everyone else. Thus, when the ILA tenders a lease owned by the JNF, they are directly complicit in "outright discrimination".²
  1. The Israel Land Administration
  2. Human Rights Watch - Off the Map: Land and Housing Rights Violations in Israel’s Unrecognized Bedouin Villages
  3. Human Rights Watch - Israel: Discriminatory Land Policies Hem in Palestinians
Israeli historian at Tel Aviv University, Prof. Gadi Algazi, explains how the Ben-Gurion utilized the 1949 Absentee Property Law to facilitate the JNF acquiring stolen Palestinian land.
Ben-Gurion circumvented any future international legal intervention by 'selling' (absolutely illegally) the land entrusted to the custodians (Ben-Gurion appointed Israel the custodians of the stolen Palestinian land following the 48' War) to the JNF so that Israel, in the case of an international debate, could say 'sorry, it's not in my hands anymore'. Within days, about a million dunams (1M dunams = about 250K acres) of land were sold for a price well below their value to the JNF. Another million would be sold later on.
Then-Israeli Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion appointed the Israeli government as custodian of the land and then sold 250,000 acres to the Jewish National Fund. The problem of the Arab refugees was forgotten in the main despite the United Nations trying to resolve it. Ben-Gurion thought that time would eventually solve the problem. The abandoned village land and houses were given to Israeli soldiers so Arabs couldn’t return.
Some speculate the JNF never even paid for the land. Instead, the Israeli government agreed to subsidize the purchase in exchange for assurances the land would be set aside for Jewish settlement.
But the Israeli cabinet ordered the JNF to stop all efforts at buying land from Palestinians directly, and the men returned to Israel.144 Ben Gurion told Weitz and Danin in December 1948 that “The JNF would buy land only from the State. There was no need to buy land from Arabs.”145
[...]One month after Ben Gurion told Weitz that the JNF should buy land only from the state, the two sides finally concluded a major deal by which the JNF would purchase a huge amount of refugee land in January 1949. Despite his mistrust of sharing power with the JNF, Ben Gurion had long wanted to sell captured Palestinian land to the JNF. In fact as early as May 13, 1948, the day before he publicly read Israel’s declaration of independence, Ben Gurion offered to sell a massive 2 million dunums of land to the JNF for £P0.5/dunum. He was trying to sell land he did not yet control to raise money for arms.
  • Fischbach, Michael. Records of Dispossession (Institute for Palestine Studies Series) (pp. 61-63). Columbia University Press. Kindle Edition.
The deal involving the so-called “second million” dunums was finalized on October 4, 1950, and involved the transfer of an additional 1,271,734 dunums by the Custodian of Absentee Property on behalf of the Development Authority to the JNF, 99.8 percent of which (1,271,480 dunums) was rural land. Granott later placed the amount at 1,278,200 dunums. The amount of £I66 million was to be paid to the government over a ten year period. Some sources indicate that the JNF was actually to turn the money over to the Jewish Agency on the government’s behalf; the amount then would be considered a loan by the government to the JA. Others claim that the JNF never actually paid the amounts it owed under the two deals.163
  • Fischbach, Michael. Records of Dispossession (Institute for Palestine Studies Series) (pp. 65-66). Columbia University Press. Kindle Edition.
Thus, Israel confiscated Palestinian land and held it in trust - only to sell it to an organization that would only allow the land to be used (sold/leased/etc.) by Jewish people only.
The JNF faced no such obstacles and was free to discriminate against Arabs in favor of Jews. Its charter mandated that all land that it purchased thereafter would be inalienable, to be held by the JNF on behalf of the Jewish people in perpetuity. Because the JNF could not sell land it acquired, it leased land to Jewish settlements and individual Jews on the condition that it not be re-let to non-Jews and that only Jewish labor be used on the land—the policy of “Hebrew labor” [Heb.: ‘avoda ‘ivrit]. Thus as a nongovernmental organization free to manage its own land on an exclusivist basis within the new state, the JNF argued for its control of refugee land on this ideological base: if the JNF obtains the land, it will be the best way to guarantee that it is used for Jewish settlement only. This attitude was expressed by a JNF official at the 23rd congress of the World Zionist Organization held in 1951, the fiftieth anniversary of the JNF’s establishment, who stated that the JNF “will redeem the lands and will turn them over to the Jewish people—to the people and not the state, which in the current composition of population cannot be an adequate guarantor of Jewish ownership” [emphases in the original].
  • Fischbach, Michael. Records of Dispossession (Institute for Palestine Studies Series) (pp. 59-60). Columbia University Press. Kindle Edition.
It's important to note that all throughout the history of the JNF, its officials openly talked about dispossessing the Palestinian people and taking their land.
In Records of Dispossession, Michael Fischback writes about the culpability of Zionist organizations in the expulsion of the Palestinian people - and singles out one important figure, Yosef Weitz of the JNF.
The question of to what degree Jewish authorities deliberately expelled Palestinians is a hotly contested one.13 For many historians of the Arab-Israeli conflict, the issue comes down to whether Zionist authorities ordered the deliberate expulsion of the Palestinians according to a master plan of ethnic cleansing. It is beyond dispute that some expulsions occurred as it is that, even before the fighting began, various figures in the Zionist movement were actively investigating the idea of what they euphemistically called “transferring” the Palestinians out of the country. One such person was Yosef Weitz of the Jewish National Fund [Heb.: Keren Kayemet le-Yisra’el]. Weitz was born in Russia in 1890 and immigrated to Ottoman Palestine in 1908. He began working for the Jewish National Fund (JNF) in 1918. The JNF was established by the World Zionist Organization [Heb.: ha-Histadrut ha-Tsiyonit; later, ha-Histadrut ha-Tsiyonit ha-‘Olamit] in December 1901 to acquire land in Ottoman Syria for the establishment of a Jewish state. It acquired its first land in Palestine in 1904. In 1907, the JNF was incorporated in London as the Jewish National Fund, Ltd., although its offices were located on the continent and moved several times over the decades. Starting in 1932, Weitz had risen to serve as the director of the JNF’s Land Development Division. He was also involved in the establishment of the Histadrut, the all-encompassing Zionist labor federation.
  • Fischbach, Michael. Records of Dispossession (Institute for Palestine Studies Series) (pp. 4-5). Columbia University Press. Kindle Edition.
Weitz countered with a hard-line vision of transferring the Palestinians completely out of the country. He detailed his ideas in his diary:
It should be clear to us that there is no room in Palestine for these two peoples. No “development” will bring us to our goal of independent nationhood in this small country. Without the Arabs, the land will become wide and spacious for us; with the Arabs, the land will remain sparse and cramped . . . . The only solution is Palestine, at least Western Palestine [i.e., Palestine without Transjordan], without Arabs. There is no room here for compromises!14
Weitz and Lifshits agreed to try to work toward this goal. In fact, in 1948 they served together on a committee that investigated transfer (see below). When the fighting broke out in 1948, Weitz believed that it provided a golden opportunity to effect such a transfer. By the spring of that year, thousands of Palestinians were already in flight and leaving behind large stretches of land. For Weitz, the proper course of action was simple: prevent their return and take over their land. On May 20, 1948, Weitz noted in his diary that the refugee flight would create “a complete territorial revolution . . . . The State is destined to expropriate . . . their land.” 15 Once the fighting was underway, he would move to realize this.

The ADL's history of anti-Palestine activism: the spying case

Historically, the ADL surveilled Arab-American and Jewish-American activists who were sympathetic to the Palestinian struggle.
Excerpt, from a JTA (2002) article on the ADL spying on anti-Zionist Jewish-Americans:
Both sides had filed appeals in July when a San Francisco Superior Court judge dismissed the cases of plaintiffs Anne Poirier and Steven Zeltzer, but not that of Jefferey Blankfort, who claimed the ADL obtained his Social Security number "for nonjournalistic purposes." Because the settlement took place before the appeals came though, the ADL agreed to compensate all three.
Blankfort explains the court case:
In earlier decades, the ADL put out dossiers on pro-Palestine activism with titles like, 'Target U.S.A: The Arab Propaganda Offensive' (1975).
News article coverage from that time, reporting on then-director of the ADL Jerome Bakst's speaking engagement in town.
In the present, the ADL still keeps tabs on pro-Palestine activism & activists like Mohammed El-Kurd.
With so many more Zionist groups now, the ADL no longer has to be a one-stop-shop for all things Israel advocacy. They no longer need to spy on Americans when plenty of other organizations do. They no longer have to profile people, because other Zionist groups like Canary Mission do.
So while the ADL isn't outright spying people as it did years ago, it's not out of some moral shift. It's because they no longer have to.

Methodist Church Celebrates Anniversary

The first Methodist church here begins tonight a three-day celebration in observance of the 70th anniversary of Its first building, shown in the inset. The old church, a marked contrast to the present beautiful stone structure, was located on the site now occupied by the Sturgeon Bay Implement company. After being abandoned for church purposes, it became known as Marquette hall.
The First Methodist Episcopal Church Built Here in 1866.
Building started in 1866
The Methodist church building, the erection of which is being celebrated, was the first in this city. In January, 1866, two lots at the corner of Court and Cottage streets were donated to the congregation by Henry Schuyler, Sr., and the building was started immediately. Although ready for use by fall, it was not until September 3, 1868, that it was dedicated.
Had Tower 100 Feet High
This first church was an imposing structure built somewhat along the lines of Independence hall, although being of frame construction, and had a tower 100 feet high that later had to be cut down about 35 feet. Rev. George Pinney, first resident pastor here, was in charge at the time the church was started, and Rev. H. H. Jones was In charge of the parish at the time of completion.
In those days, pastors usually were assigned only a year to churches, so 26 served here up to the time of the Rev. G. C. Carmichael during whose pastorate, Oct. 1896 to Oct. 1903, the present beautiful native limestone church was built at the corner of St. John and Church streets.
When the congregation moved, the first church became the Marquette hall, a popular place for community gatherings, and it stood until only eight years ago when it was torn down to make way for the Sturgeon Bay Implement building.
During the pastorate of Dr. W. J. Patton, 1922 to 1924, the present church underwent many changes. The basement was excavated larger for the installation of toilets, and a steam heating plant was put in the parsonage to serve also all of the church except the auditorium which had its own furnace.
Improvements in 1929-30
During the pastorate of Rev. Bowden 1929-30, the upstairs rooms of the church were finished off for use by the beginners' and primary departments of the Sunday school, and a smaller heating plant was put in the parsonage, the exchange being made by A.J. Wiest at no additional cost. Two hot air furnaces were installed in the church. Altogether the cost of these improvements amounted to $5,179, and at a rededication service pledges were received to cover a large part of the expense.
Rev. Dittes, during his pastorate, was outstanding for his making an exhaustive religious survey of the city that has been of value to all denominations; and of prime importance in the present pastorate of Rev. Runyon is the organization of the Seventy club, a body of 73 men who are taking the lead in liquidating the church debt. The club has directly contributed $442 to reduce the debt which now stands at $4,365, a reduction of $667 during the past two years.
First Pastor in 1863
Three years before the first church was built, the local congregation had its first pastor. The denomination had had its start, however, with the coming here of A. G. Warren and was enlarged when Paul Nelson came In 1859. A Kewaunee man, Elder William Stevens, came here to conduct services in the C. M. Whiteside residence during the winter of 1863. In the meantime, Gibraltar Mission had been organized by the Rev. R. M. Beach in October, 1862, so as a result of Elder Stevens' work, the Sturgeon Bay circuit was formed in 1863, with the Gibraltar, Fish Creek, Egg Harbor, Baileys Harbor, and the Chambers Island parishes joining together. The Rev. B. M. Fulmer succeeded Rev. Beach in October 1863.
The first quarterly conference was held in July 1863. Presiding Elder M. Himebough had charge. Besides the pastor, Rev. Beach, leaders and committeemen present were Russell Baker, of Egg Harbor, Isaac Jermain, J W. Turner and Perry Graham.

2024.06.09 13:57 Leading-Damage6331 realestate macro report

Executive Summary
The global real estate market in June 2024 presents a mixed picture. While a recent dip in mortgage rates has brought some relief for potential buyers, rising construction costs continue to pose challenges. Investors are adopting a cautious approach, with a growing focus on specific sectors like commercial real estate in Japan and sustainability features across the board.
Mortgage Rates Offer a Glimmer of Hope
A recent decline in global mortgage rates has provided a much-needed boost for homebuyers facing affordability hurdles. According to the Financial Times, average mortgage rates dipped below 7% for the first time in weeks, sparking renewed interest in the housing market. This trend is particularly welcome in regions where affordability concerns have been particularly acute. However, experts advise caution, as market fluctuations remain a concern.
Rising Construction Costs Dampen Enthusiasm
While lower mortgage rates offer some breathing room, the ongoing rise in construction costs continues to cast a shadow. A CNBC report highlights the impact on new development projects and affordability, particularly for entry-level homes. Developers face the difficult task of balancing rising material and labor costs with maintaining competitive selling prices. This situation could lead to a slowdown in new construction activity, potentially impacting housing supply in the long term.
Shifting Investment Strategies
Investors are adopting a more cautious approach in this uncertain market environment. The Wall Street Journal reports a shift in focus towards specific sectors perceived as more resilient, such as commercial real estate in Japan (Nikkei Asia). This trend reflects a desire for stable returns amidst broader market volatility.
Sustainability Takes Center Stage
A growing emphasis on sustainability is a defining characteristic of the evolving real estate landscape. The Green Building Council reports that energy-efficient features and sustainable practices are becoming increasingly important to homebuyers. This shift in preferences presents both challenges and opportunities for developers and investors. Integrating sustainable elements into new construction projects will be crucial for attracting buyers and tenants, while also mitigating environmental impact.
Regional Market Updates
North America - A Tale of Two Markets
The North American market presents a contrasting picture. The California Association of Realtors reports a deepening affordability crisis in the state, with a staggering 83% of residents now unable to afford a home. This issue demands innovative solutions, and Habitat for Humanity showcases success stories of affordable housing initiatives across the US.
However, the National Association of Realtors paints a different picture for the broader North American market. While rising mortgage rates and home prices are squeezing buyer budgets, the overall market remains relatively stable.
Europe - Brexit Looms Large
The UK market witnesses a significant development with Vistry Group announcing a major homebuilding project in collaboration with Blackstone & Regis (Vistry Group press release). This initiative aims to address housing needs, but the ongoing Brexit negotiations continue to cast uncertainty on the future of the European real estate market (European Commission).
Meanwhile, UN-Habitat offers a case study of a successful urban regeneration project in a European city, demonstrating the potential for revitalizing underutilized spaces.
Asia - Opportunity and Risk
News from Asia highlights both opportunity and risk. Caixin Global reports a lawsuit against China South City's state-owned shareholder, raising concerns about potential instability in the Chinese market. However, The Economic Times paints a more positive picture in India, with a surge in demand for office space leading to the expansion of Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs). Additionally, Nikkei Asia and DBS Group explore the growing trend of co-living spaces in major Asian cities, catering to a younger generation of urban dwellers.
Investment Strategies for Uncertain Times
Investors seeking to navigate the current market environment require a well-defined strategy tailored to their risk tolerance. The Urban Land Institute offers insights for investors across various risk profiles, highlighting the benefits and risks of investing in specific sectors like student housing or healthcare facilities.
Furthermore, the rise of PropTech (property technology) is revolutionizing the way we invest in real estate. MIT Technology Review explores the impact of PropTech on investment strategies, from data-driven decision-making to streamlined property management solutions.
Remember: This report is for informational purposes only and does not constitute financial advice. Please consult with a qualified financial professional before making any investment decisions.
Conclusion
The global real estate market in June 2024 presents a complex landscape with opportunities and challenges. While a dip in mortgage rates offers some hope for buyers, rising construction costs and broader economic uncertainties call for a cautious approach. Shifting investor focus towards stable sectors and a growing emphasis on sustainability are key trends driving the market forward

2024.06.09 13:56 ExtremeResearcher284 Situation in Mannheim/islamists in Germany

Hello, now we will discuss a painful topic. I hope it’s not just for me, but for the majority of Germans in Germany. This is the topic of Muslims and their terrorist "religion" – Islam.
Of course, I am creating this topic after I have been to Mannheim and after the news that an Islamist killed a police officer with a knife and injured several others, and specifically after the criticism of Islam. I am creating this topic because MAYBE IT'S ENOUGH TO BE SILENT AND TOLERATE IT!?
In essence, an average German in their own country cannot go out on the street with criticism of Islam because there is a high chance that they will be stabbed right on the street. Moreover, a person in a democratic and independent European country is AFRAID to express their dissatisfaction due to the mostly inadequate representatives of Islam, who FOR SOME REASON carry a knife everywhere. Apparently, this is part of their "great culture."
Personally, I have the feeling that if Muslims protest, nothing will happen to them. If Germans protest, they automatically put their lives at risk.
I have a question. How can a German in Germany express their opinion and dissatisfaction if even comments on YouTube from "de Welt" are closed? Why are they closed? To avoid inciting interethnic hatred? Germans, who pay incredibly high taxes to their state, do not have the right to express themselves in their own country.
I repeat, Islamists carry knives on the street and tend to kill innocent people just like that or because someone looked at them wrongly or, God forbid, criticized Islam. Does this mean I have no right to criticize Islam? Islam is a sponsor of terrorism? Ever heard of that? It is so. It's A FACT.
-WHY do they allow themselves to live in Europe and demand respect for their religion from others, while they do not respect and pollute the European culture in which they live?
-WHY does a person on the street in Germany in a Santa Claus costume needs to defend himself from knife attacks? Because Muslims "respect" our traditions like this?
-WHY do Islamists play their shitty music loudly, WHY do they pollute children playgrounds, WHY do they constantly litter and scream all along the street or in public transport... and show other forms of disrespect towards the culture in which they live towards the people, who surroud them, while simultaneously demanding respect for "their culture and "religion."
-WHY do they feel so comfortable in Germany and think they can do whatever they want and there will be no consequences for them? Dont worry, Not because we gave them this comfort, but because they are simply brazen ungrateful - aggressive, petty, vengeful, ill-mannered self confident cretins with flattened skulls, and they are taught this from childhood. They are taught to hold a knife in their hand from childhood. Their children, already being in German schools/kindergartens, bully German children.
A familiar situation: a Muslim child often bullies a Ukrainian child in a school and says that he would "f*k" his mother and shows it with his body by touching ukrainian child. The Ukrainian child, in a fit of desperation, shouts: "take this black finally away from me!"
The Muslim child reports this to his parents. The situation reaches the school principal, who says that if this happens again, if the Ukrainian child "says something racist again," the Ukrainian child will be expelled from school. And not the Muslim one in any way.
Now let's return to the question of why they still feel so comfortable. Because the smart ones among them can always say that "if you make a remark to me - you are a racist." And for some reason, Germans are very afraid of this.
-Why do Muslims usually not walk alone, but in groups, so that even a police officer is afraid to look at them or, moreover, to make a remark?
Because they know this. They know that they instill fear in the ordinary people of Germany. Neither the police officer will make a remark to them nor, especially, the elderly grandmother who has lived in this country all her life and who is simply pained to see all this.
They know that they instill fear, and we know that even if you "look at Islamists the wrong way," they can come close to you and, at best, shout or make faces in front of you....
AND WHY can't Islam be banned as a "religion" on a legislative level?
Islam is not a religion - but a sponsor of terrorism.
And WHY can't those who are not ready to renounce the Islamic religion be deported?
I personally support the idea that those who are ready to renounce this "religion" should stay because if a person is adequate, they understand what Islam is and will renounce it.
And most importantly: HOW MANY HOW MANY times must the people of Germany suffer terrorist attacks from Islamists before the German government finally does something...
I could continue for a long time, but you can also share your list of "WHYS" and so on below⬇️
Thank you for your attention! We accept all honest opinions! We don't delete our posts/we dont edit comments and so on!

2024.06.09 13:55 groovygreengorilla I work at a hospital. I will never be visiting one after this

I work in a hospital. After this I will never go to a hospital again
I work In a hospital mostly looking after sick old people. One night me and 5 other doctors were on Night Shift and look after very sick people. Everything was going well as I heard screaming. One of the doctors complained of a little girl in a white gown standing in the hallway with the creepiest grin she had ever seen.
I thought this was weird since we were working in a retirement ward and there would be no children about. 2 hours go by me and another doctor r sat up in our office on our break when we neared screaming coming from a patient. We go on the radio to the other doctors and asked for them to check on all the people. They reply there all fast asleep. My heart sank as I ask what could it be then. 2 doctors and 1 nurse from the children’s ward coming running over asking if they seen a child in a white gown.
We both said no but another doctor had seen her. We told them the name of the doctor and they replied with she’s not working on shift tonight. We both looked at each other and said no we swear we’ve seen her. They told us to stop being stupid and go back to r shift and operations normally. My break was over and the other doctors were on there break so I was by myself. I was walking around checking on all the patient until I got to room 21 and saw a little girl in a white gown with a man with no face also in a white gown leaning over one of the patients I ran back and hid in the break room for the rest of my shift and let all the other doctors handle it.
3 days after I decided to quit my job and then to learn later the patient had died.

2024.06.09 13:51 kingmooze First time in forever AMD so did i miss anything?

So it´s been a while since I built a new PC.. Really long and even longer since I used all AMD. I´m not into OC in regards that I now chase numbers even if I at one point did. Now i just wanna make the most of what i have. I have been changing stuff around slowly but since it´s an AMD and im not that up to date I was woundering if i missed something that could be better in terms of settings? Im not sure about the FCLK and feel i can push it more but havent had the time mto test it. I went from 23.8k in Timespy to a bit above 27k. AIDA seems to be as bad at benching as several years ago but its showing latency at 66.6ns wich feels really bad? Linpack at standard 3gig and 4 runs shows 393.046 in average. Not that great it feels like?
I do run all test with torrent, some chrome windows and wallpaper-engine running. Specs are: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D ASUS TUF GAMING RX 7900 XT OC ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI DDR5-6000 KINGSTON CAS 30 (Hynix) 2x16 running at 6200.

2024.06.09 13:50 Netalula Ideas For Mini Games

So for the new really cute mini game that i am already obsessed with, i thought of a few ideas. Obviously not expecting them to be made but I am procrastinating on a lab report so might as well share:
-Bunny Chase: think Subway Surfers but in a forest. You collect carrots for points and try to avoid obstacles such as trees and bushes.
-Carrot Collection: carrots are falling and you have to swipe a basket to catch them. Beware the mushrooms! For each bunny there is a special drop that if you get it with a different bunny it will not give points (so for example sushi for Ebi or Flowers for Poppy)
-Catch: Basically your bunny and another bunny toss the beach ball to each other. The other bunny is “computer”. You can’t let the ball fall to the ground.
—-
Additionally, i think it would be really fun to have merch in the form of collection cards. So you have bunny cards, toy cards and building cards.

2024.06.09 13:48 kavar13 I was just telling myself I should stay off eBay...

But I found it! I actually fucking found it! My buddy had his marker stolen out of his truck a few years ago and at this point I was expecting it to be in a landfill due to suspecting his ex had something to do with it. But holy shit I found it, extremely rare and very sentimental marker, and it was finally found. Serial match and all. It traveled a bit and lost some parts but all of the important parts are there.
It was a huge stroke of luck as I haven't checked eBay in a while. He asked if I had a phantom barrel which sent me down one of my rabbit holes of just seeing what's out there and by chance I found his marker. Found it before I had to leave for work last night (yay grave shift) so hopefully he can get it all hashed out today.
Leaving out details for now until we get it back to it's rightful owner. It's going to be fun trying to track down some replacement parts.
Never give up looking, take pictures of your serial numbers, get police reports, fuck thieves, and have a wonderful day.

2024.06.09 13:45 NewUser1845 What, and how much, can you read realistically?

Hi! This question specifically relates to media consumption habits; I do not imply reading books or course material here.
I read The Hindu daily and do not think I will leave it anytime soon (non-UPSC-aspirant here). In addition, my university's library account allows me to read the Financial Times, which is equally erudite. However, due to workload, I have become more erratic in reading newspapers; though I skim through them, I read them thoroughly only occasionally. For instance, I never skip the editorials/opinion of FT and The Hindu.
I was curious since I may be moving back to India after completing my postgraduate degree here in the UK. Since it was a degree in IR, FT was a must-read, though, once I have shifted back, I understand it may not be so critical for my line of work, and its subscription will come dear. I shall continue to subscribe to TH.
Would you suggest reading a pink paper instead or as a complement to TH? While it is recommended for understanding policy and economy, which will be crucial for my work, I believe the right mix of podcasts can supplant the need for a financial daily. If I am driven to believe by you that a financial daily is paramount, I would place my bets on Mint, which I have read in the past, though I am open to suggestions.
Furthermore, being an avid reader, I appreciate the well-written, incisive, and analytical long-form. My studies necessitated a reading of The Economist daily and whereas I am not loathe to continue it, I have always questioned its editorial stance and Eurocentrism. Having said that, it remains a comprehensive primer on the week's global issues which is not easy to replace. However, in spite of its abiding relevance, would you recommend any other magazine? I read articles from The Caravan but have never picked it up from the news-stand. My TH subscription comes with Frontline for which I used to eagerly wait in my undergrad but now tend to read in a pack of two-three on the rare weekend I get time. I must say Vaishna Roy has vastly improved the tenor and look of the magazine, though its ideological edge has slightly blunted. Nevertheless....
So, what mix do you guys recommend? Consideration of time and the considerable cost of subscription will top my agenda. I do not want to subscribe to a publication and not read it after all. I know, with an element of certainty, that I will not have force myself to read, since I love to read and write, although time and cost will be realistic determinants. I encourage you to discuss your reading and news/opinion consumption habits as well. I may have missed the odd newspaper, so please recommend any daily that does not indulge in disinformation. The only two financial dailies I have read are Mint and ET, so please go ahead and recommend anything else too. Surely, there are numerous quality magazines out there, which I may not be aware of. I won't read showbiz and gossip mags ever but occasionally pick up The New Yorker and The Paris Review, the latter only for its interviews. Literary magazines, in Hindi or English, are not out of consideration. Policy, politics, foreign affairs, and literature are what I may prefer. Magazines are intended for information but also as a hobby.
The ideal mix that I am looking for would be one national daily (TH, convince me otherwise) + one financial daily/podcast (let's discuss) + one magazine.
Thanks!

2024.06.09 13:43 rockyroman950 What is trending in photography in 2024?

What is trending in photography in 2024?
Constantly evolving, driven by technological advancements, cultural shifts, and artistic innovation leads. Several trends are shaping how photographers capture their work as 2024 begins. The most exciting trends in photography for this year range from cutting-edge technology to new stylistic approaches.
https://preview.redd.it/o23wxy8a9j5d1.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=cf198e83eab5a69ec75eb60bd13cad11c6129998

AI-Powered photography

The intersection of artificial intelligence and photography is transforming photography as an art through improved ways of image capture and post-production. AI-enhanced cameras in use today come with functionalities such as instant scene analysis during capture, automatic improvements on both lighting conditions and composition that suit best any given picture or even intelligent editing tools that can erase unnecessary content from a picture or modify it for better appearance. These advances help beginners to take better photos and offer pros more sophisticated means to hone their skills.

Sustainable Photography Practices

More and more photographers now employ practices which are sustainable due to growing environmental consciousness. Eco-friendly materials are used for photos printouts presently; studio electricity consumption has decreased just as digital portfolios have substituted real ones. To minimize environmental degradation caused by photo sessions, many photographers opt to partner with bodies working towards protection or sustainability of the environment.

The telling of real stories

In a time when social media and the internet dominate, taking photos has an important part to play in the issue of being genuine. Readers long for authentic everyday stories that they can relate to. Because of this, we have seen an increase in the number of photographers who take photojournalistic shots as well as those who are into the candid behind-the-scenes type of photography which captures real moments. Instead of concentrating on how objects look individually anymore, They Have Started Looking At Them Through Various Lenses As Reflected By Their Perceptions Of Different Lives Lived In Society.

Immersive Experiences with 360° Photography and VR

Popularity of 360-degree photography and Virtual Reality (VR) is highly dependent on the desire for an immersive experience. They help the observer to go through landscapes more interactively while at the same time easing understanding of what’s before their eyes. Virtual tours in faraway destinations or deeply engaging art exhibitions could now be taken online through 360° and VR photos hence changing the way we tell stories visually and connect with our audiences.

The Latest Trend in Visual Media

Taking Photos with Drones: In the past it was hard for photographers to have unique and clear shots from above but thanks to advancements in drone expertise that continues evolving day by day, we now have these equipment that are able to make such pictures possible very easily. Improved stability, higher resolution cameras, Obstacle avoidance as well as automated flight paths are some characteristics found on drones that have been released among many others being added on regularly as time goes by. This trend has become very common especially among photographers who specialize in landscapes as well as architects who choose to take photos with an aerial view because it brings out a dramatic feel sometimes even breathtaking that supports their profession.

The growth of mobile photography

The growth of the quality of smartphone cameras have made mobile photography an important trend. Therefore, the sophistication of high-resolution sensors allows professional photographers create high-quality photography and night mode together with portrait mode helps in doing business from a distance. It is the upsurge of on-the-go photography enabled by convenience and availability that increase creativity in taking pictures using handheld devices.

Retro and Vintage Aesthetics

The manner in which aperson captures pictures is influenced by nostalgiawith retro and vintage aesthetics highly appreciated by manyphotographers.? It expects including usage of film cameras, playing around with grainy textures as well as using filters that imitate how photographs appeared some time ago. The photos still manage to retain their allure since they give pictures more spirit this making them look more distinctively human while losing touch with society (Levin; 2014).

The emergence of NFT in photography

There has been a significant influence of Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in the art industry and photography is not any different. Some photographers are finding ways to category the NFTs so that they can be sold in digital format as something exclusive; like for collectors. This not only presents another revenue stream; it also means that photographers can now get to other parts of the world while being recognised among digital artists.

Lesser But Still Be There

Lesser but still be there photography is one whose compositions are simple and which involves the use of negative space; it has grown more popular over time. This form of art highlights how beautiful things can look when presented modestly with less noise made about them such that other qualities such as clarity, dull tones or calmness become evident instead. Much like in life, minimalism requires that we strip away all unnecessary objects until nothing remains except for what is truly essential in order for an image not to lose its meaning but rather maintain great clarity even in the absence of detail - a fact that makes it visually potent.

Social Justice and Advocacy

For a long time, photography has been vital in driving social development pointing to a trend still relevant in 2024 where photographers have continued to use their photos intersections that address issues regarding equality as well as fight for groups that are disadvantaged while moving people towards action with their art. Any impactful photo which captures protest, resilience and oneness moments is not only a piece of art but also triggers discussions plus movements in different societies.

Conclusion

In the photography industry of 2024, you will realize a great synergy of technological innovation, cultural shifts and artistic exploration. From AI and VR to sustainability and social justice, photographers are coming up with new ways of pushing the envelope in their profession thereby creating audience connections in fresh methods. While these trends keep changing, photography world is going on rapidly and offers something fresh and new all the time.

2024.06.09 13:33 ExtremeResearcher284 Situation in Mannheim and not only/islamists in Germany

2024.06.09 13:30 AutoModerator ANNOUNCEMENT - AVOID BEING SCAMMED

* READ TO LEARN HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM SCAMMERS! THIS MESSAGE WILL REPEAT EVERY 12 HOURS \*
As the sub grows, so does it's exposure to scammers. As mods, we do our best to protect the sub, but need y'all's help as well. We are a community. We do not like reading modmails when our fellow members get scammed, but do know that most could have been prevented given they follow the tips we've laid out. Below are these tips on how to stay protected:
How to message the mods - https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=/fragranceswap
Banned and sketchy users - https://www.reddit.com/fragranceswap/wiki/banned
* Always use PayPal/Venmo G&S when buying from someone with under 15 flair on the sub. A scammer will give a BS reason why they can't accept G&S. Anyone with under 15 flair MUST accept G&S as a form of payment according to the rules of the sub. This rule is non-negotiable. If they will not, please report them to the mods.
* Ask a potential seller to comment on your post. This proves that they are not banned from the sub. That doesn't always mean they are a scammer though. It could just mean that they do not meet the sub requirements to become an approved member. They still need to accept G&S though. Check the banned list and vet the seller through their profile.
* Ask for specific timestamped pictures. A "timestamp" is a picture a seller takes with a handwritten note including their username and date next to the item they are selling. Ask for this with "odd" requests such as a picture of the bottle on its side or with the cap off, etc. If they are not willing to provide that then avoid the transaction and report them to the mods. Scammers are becoming crafty and often try and photoshop the timestamp in with a picture they found on google. Be aware and inspect timestamps closely for evidence of photoshopping. Look for blurred edges of paper, shadows not matching up with others in the picture, etc. If you are in doubt, don't hesitate to contact us with the picture.
* "Sellers" who start the conversation off with "WTS (insert frag you're looking for)" are 99.99% most likely a scammer. Scammers will always give you a great deal, or ask you to name your price. Any "seller" who is willing to accept half payment upfront then the other half after delivery to avoid using G&S is most likely a scammer. If it seems to good to be true or fishy, it most likely is.
Please do your due diligence, folks. If you're ever in doubt, reach out to us. Stay safe!

2024.06.09 13:28 OkDrummer2667 Did I miss something out?

Warning: This is a huge huge post. It is practically my entire life from my perspective and kind of something I need closure for. Also what are your opinions.
I am 17M (soon to be 18)
I have so many regrets...just so many. I am Indian (useful context). I have been an absolute coward my entire life. I have always taken all the anger I had out on my parents but infront of my classmates, I have allowed them to treat me like a doormat. I already had the realisation of what I was doing and that turned to frustration and guilt and back to anger that I again took out on my parents. Only in the recent years have I took efforts to improve my behaviour, and I mean it in both ways. By setting boundries with my classmates and being mindful of how I speak with my parents.
I have been lonely my whole life. I always felt that everyone else had friends they were comfortable with and talked to about literally anything but I was the only one with whom nobody wanted to talk. Over last two years, I have put myself forward and talked to people, even if it scared the shit out of me. It was not the magical solution. Some people still didn't care about me as much as I thought they would but some did have heart to heart conversation with me. I also bhot back with my childhood friend whom I haven't contacted for long. At the same time I have also convinced myself to stop seeking attention from idiots.( Okay fine...they are not the idiots I am...but let me just call them that). This 'not seeking attention' works sometimes but sometimes it doesn't. I really want somebody to listen but there is also a certain kind of reaction that I expect which nobody can give. There is that. But I have started focusing on my life and my work more and how people behave with me has become secondary. ( It used to by my sole purpose of life to figure out what others were thinking of me).
That brings me to my (former)worst fear of life. Embarrassment. I have been so afraid of humiliation that developed serious mental disability. Even a slight chance that what I might say or do would make others make fun of me. I would avoid that. I was actually so amazed at how my classmates spoke so freely. Infact i developed chronic anxiety.(Let me tell you that at the time I did not know it was anxiety what I was feeling) To get rid of it, i always felt the need to shout. (One time in my class after the national anthem was done, a classmate shouted Bharat Mata ki Jai! And after that I have always wanted to do that, but I was afraid that no one would shout 'JAI' so I was scared that everyone would laugh at me, but I wanted to do it so badly. I spent each and every waking moment just thinking about how I was gonna do it and sometimes I was not able to do it for days until I found courage. It was tortorous, after that I randomly started saying 'Bharat Mata ki Jai, anywhere everywhere and everyone started to think I was weird. I sometimes even try to say something but it sounded like a moan and got made fun of again so many damn times) The point is, my fear of humiliation itself became the reason for me getting isolated and called weird by everyone.
After 10th I was supposed to choose between science commerce and arts. I had not decided yet but my parents constantly nagged me to choose one. All I knew was that I did not want to go to that particular school. We went one time to check out this small academy.(Mom and I) We were talking with the administration when my mom suddenly looked at me and asked 'do you want to take admission here?' INFRONT OF THE THEM! I said yes without thinking. This was my first regret. I originally thought that I would get used to the environment after some time but deep inside i knew I hated the academy. I skipped almost half the year. My parents blamed me for being lazy. Did I mention I took commerce state board and it was the absolute worst.
We went back to my original school to get admission there but the admission date was already over. If only I had told my parents a bit sooner.
Next year we shifted to another city where i completed my 12th grade in commerce state board which i till date hate. I wish I had taken science. I talked to by parents about completing 12th science through NIOS(open schooling) but they thought that I was misguided, they thought i learnt somewhere that science is better than commerce so I wanted it but that is absolutely not true. I simply want it becttit seems more fun.
Anyways. I have given IPMAT(entrance tests to get into top B-schools in India) Rothak and Indire and did not pass in both. I filled the registration form for CA Foundation but forgot to fill the exam form so I cannot give June attempt.
Here I am today. I have got admission into UCC Ireland and ANU Australia but I don't even know if I want to do this courses. If I tell my parents now, that will only scold me and bash me. I an still a bit sensitive and can't wait to get out of their house but I don't know what the hell i should do now. I definitely do not have the courage to tell them to pause everything. They never did.
What are your opinions.

malaki kaya chance ko makashift? mahirap ba talaga makashift to UPCN?
thank youu pooo!! 🥹

2024.06.09 13:21 LeatherAlive1954 Buying house with limited title guarantee - dementia

As the tile says. The owners, one of them died and one of them is in a nursing home with late stage dementia. The surname of the seller (which I think is her son) is the same with the person with dementia in the nursing home.
On the TR1 form at the execution ,it says ''X acting as attorney for X'' (again,I think her son is acting as her attorney as his mom has late stage dementia).
We are buying with mortgage and a huge deposit. My fears are that maybe her mom is not in a nursing home,or she has more childrens that are not aware of the house sale or something. We dont want to lose the huge deposit.
Our solicitors sent us the TR1 form but there is nothing written in the Adittional Provisions section.
I know this is not the right place to ask for advice but maybe you guys have an idea of what should I ask my solicitor before I sign the TR1 form and contract of sale.
Thank you!

2024.06.09 13:20 zero4all Brief introduction

This post offers a glimpse into my zero-point energy journey and discoveries made along the way, providing an oversimplified version of the complexities involved. While it presents fragments of scientific theories, it's essential to recognize that the exploration of ZPE delves into intricate realms beyond this brief exposition. The discoveries recounted here are simplified snapshots of a broader landscape, with ongoing debates challenging conventional scientific paradigms. It's important to note that the explanations of current scientific theories are merely facets of a larger understanding. No harm or offense is intended by these simplified explanations; rather, they serve as stepping stones for further exploration and discussion, urging readers to approach the subject with an open mind and a willingness to delve deeper into its complexities.
Here we go..
Modern science struggles to pinpoint the location of consciousness within our brains. Ancient teachings on non-local consciousness and purported psychic abilities, including remote viewing and channeling (among many others), hint at a radical departure: our consciousness may not originate from our brains at all. Instead, it suggests that our brains are mere vessels shaped by consciousness. Acting as interpreters of frequencies, our senses offer glimpses of a reality crafted by consciousness through our brains. This perspective reconceives consciousness as the fundamental essence of existence, expressed through frequencies and vibrations. Nikola Tesla's iconic words, 'If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration,' resonate profoundly with this notion. Tesla's belief in the existence of ether, the elemental substance from which all matter emerges, aligns with the idea that consciousness and ether could be intertwined. Within this framework, our brains are not generators of consciousness; rather, consciousness shapes the brain and everything perceived through it. This realization heralds a seismic shift in our understanding of reality.
Modern science explains that particles arise from fluctuations, transitioning between probability waves and tangible forms - particles are essentially manifestations of waves. This understanding, rooted in wave-particle duality, asserts that everything, including particles, fundamentally exists as waves. This interpretation resonates with my comprehension of how the universe operates.
The necessity of quoting more Tesla isn't essential here, as the concept of consciousness or ether inherently encompasses energy, frequency, and vibration. Reflecting on our understanding of electricity as an energy form, it's plausible that our comprehension of the electromagnetic field is incomplete. The propagation of electricity outside wires, within the electromagnetic field, hints at a deeper connection to consciousness or ether. Given that consciousness embodies frequencies and vibrations, it's logical to consider the ether's vibrational nature as the medium for electromagnetic wave propagation. This suggests that the traditional electromagnetic field may not be requisite for electricity transmission, as it likely traverses through the ether, as Tesla proposed.
After delving into multiple physics theories in pursuit of uncovering a unifying Theory of Everything, I stumbled upon vortex math. Subsequently, immersing myself extensively in its principles, I found Marko Rodin's insights particularly compelling. His elucidation of how the universe seemingly adheres to vortex patterns in energy flow resonated deeply with my quest for understanding the fundamental fabric of reality. Nature never operates in straight lines, and energy exhibits its own curvature, as indicated by vortex math. While vortex math elegantly elucidates the physical reality circuit (1, 2, 4, 8, 7, 5) and its corresponding ether side (3, 6, 9), attempting to construct a device using base-10 math alongside vortex math presents a challenge. Something seems amiss and requires further investigation. This is where music enters the picture. Music, with its frequencies and harmonies, offers valuable insights.
It appears that the universe is divided into 12 equal intervals, akin to the structure of music. The 12 notes of the chromatic scale form an octave. Without delving into the intricacies of octaves and harmonies here, but understanding this concept reveals the significance of employing base-12 math in subjects like this. Both Tesla and Rodin were onto something with their emphasis on 3, 6, and 9 within the context of base-10 math. However, constructing a device based solely on this knowledge could lead to an imbalance between the ether and physical realms, resulting in energy leakage. Utilizing base-12 math, on the other hand, would align the formula perfectly and achieve harmonious equilibrium between the ether and physical aspects. The key to unlocking this balance lies in incorporating the numbers 3, 6, 9, and 12.
Contemplating these insights led me to consider the manifestation of energy/matter. Is it conceivable to engineer a device that manipulates ether in a manner that generates elevated waves in the ether, commonly known as standing waves?
A brief study of wave dynamics and interference revealed that longitudinal waves interacting or interfering with each other produce standing waves. Understanding that wires or conductive materials serve as "waveguides" for waves propagating in ether (or consciousness), it becomes feasible to construct a device capable of modulating the ether to generate desired standing waves upon it.
So, I resolved to challenge my own and others' beliefs regarding this concept and began constructing the device myself. The idea was to utilize waveguides or commonly known conductive materials arranged in a manner that encourages wave interference within the ether. Adjacent to these waveguides, there would be conductive material positioned to effectively "collect" these standing waves.
This led me to create a device comprising copper plates shaped correctly for waveguides, with induction plates situated nearby. To my lack of surprise, transmitting the appropriate longitudinal wave to this device resulted in a significant surplus of electricity being generated on the induction plates. Initial experiments yielded highly promising results. Adding a load to the plates and measuring the produced power indicated that with only 5W of input power, I was able to generate multiple kW impulses on the induction plates. Remarkably compact, the device is not much larger than a basketball and weighs only about 1.5kg, making it incredibly portable and versatile. Its size belies its capabilities, as it can easily serve as a power source for a house, electric car, or any other electric application. Furthermore, its construction is remarkably simple, requiring no complex electronic components or expensive materials, and it can be assembled at home using basic tools.
One significant observation is that the surplus electricity manifests as impulses rather than continuous power. Thus far, I've had to externally introduce the input pulse to the device from an external power source, resulting in infrequent impulses in the previous development version. However, I've devised a method to configure the device so that it generates the input pulse autonomously, enabling it to operate continuously as a self-sustaining generator. Though the term "generator" may not be entirely accurate, as it simply manifests energy from the ether. Functioning akin to all motors and generators, it operates as a self-feeding and self-running system.
Like an internal combustion engine, which relies on fuel, a spark plug, and a piston/camshaft to convert energy, this device operates with the ether as its fuel source, the input pulse acting as the spark plug, and the waveguides and inducing plates functioning as the piston and camshaft. This device complies with physical laws, as it harnesses energy from the ether, an external and seemingly unlimited energy source. Thus, it does not violate thermodynamic laws, as it operates as an open system rather than a closed one. Its only requirement for operation is an initial kickstart, akin to most motors. Once kickstarted, it runs autonomously, devoid of any moving parts, and can be constructed by most individuals themselves.
This device represents my interpretation of true zero-point energy—a concept that holds immense promise as a virtually unlimited and sustainable source of free energy. Zero-point energy, also known as vacuum energy or ground state energy, is the energy that remains in a system even at its lowest possible energy state. Harnessing this energy could revolutionize the way we power our world, offering a clean, abundant, and renewable source of energy for all.
You might wonder why I'm sharing this without providing video proof of my device. The reason is simple: I intend for this device to be open source, marking the first step toward making this technology accessible to everyone. I have no intention of patenting it under any circumstances. All the necessary information to build this device will be freely available for anyone to use. This post marks the inaugural stride towards a society where energy is not merely a commodity but a birthright, as essential as the air we breathe and the water we drink.
Through this research journey, I've been awakened to the profound essence of our reality and the boundless possibilities it entails. The revelation that energy can be effortlessly harnessed from the ether unveils a paradigm-shifting vista of potentialities. If such a feat is within our grasp, then the manipulation of gravity and the manifestation of matter are no longer relegated to the realm of science fiction but become tantalizingly attainable aspirations. Given their strong connection to the ether, both gravity and matter offer avenues for exploration, suggesting that neutralizing gravitational forces becomes as achievable as manifesting energy.
Stay tuned, for this is just the beginning of a voyage into a future where the boundaries of possibility are limited only by our imagination. Future posts will reveal more detailed information about the device and the power output, along with videos of the device in operation.

2024.06.09 13:12 KRAWLL224 Handling vacation requests as the dept manager

So I am a dept manager with 29ppl (i make 30 cuz i am a working manager who helps out on the floor) who report to me. Every year in January I give everyone a vacation request off form that is due 1st Monday in February so I can get it all on the calendar. Company policy states I can approve 4ppl off on any given day based on my employee count so that with potential call offs I can still ship quota for the day (I work in distribution). I organize the forms by seniority then take everyone's 1st choice then reverse seniority 2nd choice and so on until all vacation requests are done. If I run into a problem I call the employee in to see how we can handle it.
This is the 1st year I actually had issues with vacation due to us being open on Dec26. I told everyone that day/week is going to fill fast if you want it it needs to be your 1st priority it maybe gone by 2nd choice. We also have a callout policy that if it's the day b4 or after a paid holiday you forfeit your holiday pay.
Due to the callout policy I knew I could handle 7ppl off that day and keep up with shipments. 1 had 5 ppl put it as their 1st choice and then 4 ppl as their 2nd. Other ppl had it as their 3rd 4th 5th choice and they had to be denied. I approved the 5 with it as top choice then following my guidelines that I lay out the next 2 on the list got it approved. I hated having the conversation with everyone else who wanted it off but what could I do and not get reprimanded by my Overlords? I did not even put that week off on my list as to not take away from my team. Yes I have family and would love those days off also but my team comes before me.
What could I have done differently? I try to be the best manager I can and since I've taken over I have very low turnover rate and at least they act like they are willing to fight for me. But this caused a lot of anger and resentment within my team.
In US. And yes we are a decent company to work for.
