Hi everyone this is my first time using reddit, I have nowhere else to figure this situation out so here goes…
My parents have been together for almost 35 years (both in their 60s i believe), and I am 18.
For context… My whole life I have noticed my parents argue. I was never extreme or violent, but it was definitely often. When I was a little kid we used to have two houses because my parents had jobs in different cities, but today I found the truth behind the reason for the 2 houses.
Today my mom sat me down and told me that my dad moved out a month ago. I had been away in college in a different city so I didn’t know. She told me that he had been cheating for YEARS. The first time was less than one year into their marriage. And according to her, he has continued cheating for all 34 of those years. I even found a dating app on his phone when I was 11, so I know my mother is telling me the truth.
He doesn’t know that I know any of this. I just got back from college today and he doesn’t even know that I know he has moved out of our house. My mom doesn’t even know where he is living. I just don’t know what to do now.
Eventually probably in the next few days he will tell me that he moved out because him and my mom “don’t get along”, which is partially true, but I just want to know the entire truth and I don’t think he will tell me about the cheating. There are more factors to the story and him moving out, but they aren’t totally relevant at the moment.
My mom says that I am the most important thing in his life. He lives and stays around and does everything to see me succeed. But I am just so scared he has another family because he always stays at “work” until 9-10 pm everyday while his coworkers leave around 4. Not only that, but he also goes out of town for “work” almost every week- for example he will be home monday-tuesday, nyc wednesday-thursday, albany friday-saturday, and then back home.
I am just so lost right now and I have no one to go to for support. I don’t understand why they would have a child (me) when their marriage had been going downhill for like 15 years??? He started cheating on my mom 15 years before i was even born.
Any advice would be amazing. I really need help. btw i was told all the information above within 10 minutes in the middle of the day and ive just been crying ever since :/
ps. as i was writing this my mom told me he asked if he could come to the house (im assuming to talk to me about him moving out) but she told him to wait until tomorrow morning because she doesn’t think i can mentally handle it yet.

I used to own an Xbox 360, and obviously had a lot of Xbox 360 games, however now at present day I have an Xbox series s. I have noticed that when browsing my achievements there are games such as pwz gw1 and xbox 360 terraria and Minecraft for example that I played and have achievements on. Despite this, I do not have any of these games disks, so I must of bought them digitally? I was wondering if there’s anyway I can download them and play them ? As I’m sure there not on the Microsoft store (my 360 games I’m looking for in particular) any help is appreciated!

I've seen a lot of people confused or asking questions about how it could possibly go past 5$ or similar.
When a short seller "shorts" a stock, what they are doing is borrowing a stock with the obligation to return that stock. They sell the stock instantly on the open market, and are obligated to buy it back to return what they borrowed. If the stock goes down, they can buy the shares and return them and the difference is the profit. If the stock, however, goes UP, they are still on the hook to return the shares. A short position has potential for INFINITE loss, (because the stock can go up forever theoretically), so at some point the short seller has to bail out(aka if we force a buy), buying the shares at the market value. At whatever price the open market wants. Which in this example is 96%+ of the float. FFIE has 42.41 million shares outstanding with over 36 million shares short. They currently have .11 days to cover (before they have to pay some fees), they can extend this as long as they want to keep paying but its like 12% fee or something right now. At some point they will be forced to realize that we aren't leaving because we love this stock and refuse to let them kill the EV dream, and they will have an ultimatum, bail out (by buying all the shares back), or get margin called and be forced to bail out anyway. The third option would be if they bought LEAPS to have exposure to the amount of shares they need to mitigate upside risk and kick the can down the road as far as possible. (this is the strategy that was employed with AMC and GME, and why the stock started seeing action 3 years later) But this time, they made the bet that the stock was going to get delisted, so if we maintain 1$+ for 10 consecutive trading days (this is day 1), then they will be forced to realize that retail isn't leaving the stock, and when one short bails they all fall like dominoes. Right now the price action you see isn't shorts at all, it's just retail buying and some paper hands selling at mental checkpoints they had set to sell at, like "omg if it hits 2$ im gonna sell", these people clearly don't remember GME going from 3$ to 485$ with a larger market cap. Or they would be holding for 100$+ here imho I think this explains in economic terms how it touches 100$

Hey all- I just wanted to share my review of the HyperSkill browser-based learning platform for any of those that are looking for resources to help them learn or study programming.
I've used resources such as codecademy, youtube, udemy, open source coursework, freecodecamp, datacamp, graduate-level computer science courses, etc etc etc etc- and I always appreciate user-written reviews on Reddit, so I wanted to share mine. Hyperskill is the best software I've found thus far to learn to code. Hopefully this review helps.
Pros:
-A solid variety of career and skill tracks to choose from, everything from Python, to Data Science, to Java, to JavaScript, etc etc.
-Certificates actually feel like you earned them. Hyperskill requires that you complete a project of a certain difficulty (from their selection of projects), as well as a certain amount of coursework, before you're able to have the certificate issued. Having the project component makes you feel like you've actually put the coursework into practice.
-Projects can actually include multiple frameworks/technologies. For example, many of the Java projects require you to use the Spring Boot framework. This helps you learn to use relevant technologies along with the main language you're learning, since in the real world you will hardly ever use one language as a standalone technology.
-Coursework is divided into bite-sized pieces, each topic takes anywhere from 6 to 20 minutes to complete. I would set a daily goal for myself (such as completing 4 topics), and pace myself that way.
-HyperSkill syncs to your IDE, so that when you have a coding assignment to complete, it will open automatically in your IDE. Once you complete coding in the IDE, you click "check," and it will sync with your HyperSkill tab in your browser to mark it as complete. I haven't yet seen any sort of coding academy with this feature.
-There is a section that prompts you to review 4-5 previously learned topics to keep them fresh in your memory, as well as a "problem of the day". These are simple features, but they keep everything fresh in your memory with minimal effort.
Cons:
-The projects are divided into stages, you complete stage 1, then study more coursework before completing stage 2, etc. Occasionally, the test cases that need to be met for you to pass a stage are too strict and waste unnecessary time. For example, if your output matches the required output for a project stage, but has 22 lines instead of the 21 lines expected, you will not pass the stage.
-Sometimes the IDE sync feature is problematic. If you're using the PyCharm IDE while completing a Data Analysis track in HyperSkill, and then change your track to Java and need to use the IntelliJ IDE, it's confusing to switch the linked IDE from PyCharm to IntelliJ and will take several attempts.
-You earn "gems" for completing the problem of the day, project stages, and other coursework, but these gems are essentially useless and at best give you 10% off of one month of your subscription.

I (23F) have been dating 25M for 10 months now. I am so scared I am going to sabotage this relationship because of my insecurities. I am just comparing myself endlessly with his ex and his ex-FWB, and even random girls.
It’s almost like I want to make myself feel anxious and insecure. Information, pictures or texts that I've found through lurking (which I try to stop doing) hurts my feelings but have burned themselves into my head. For example, the summer we started dating he was frequently liking his ex-FWB pictures on IG - some revealing, some not - last one he liked was from a couple of months back, a very revealing one where she had taken a picture from above, angle looking into her tanktop, her tongue was out, nipple piercings visable through her shirt, very suggestive. Him liking provocative pictures of a woman he used to have sex with makes me uncomfortable. He hasn't done it for months now, but I fear it could return around summer when she wears revealing outfits again.
I've also recently realized in a group chat with his friends he added me to, you can look back at messages before you were in the GC. That led me to look way back and see some things from months before we started dating, that still bothers me. Messages about his ex-FWB, how hot she is, how hot it is that she is a masochist (I'm not one), etc. I even saw pictures he had shared in the GC of many, many nudes she had sent him and pictures he took while they were having sex, in many different positions (with her consent, she's into it). It bothers me it looks to be using the same BDSM equipment he uses on me, the same positions he likes me in, etc. It makes me paranoid he's thinking about her when he's having sex with me. From the pictures it was apparent she is more sexually confident than I am, which makes sense given she has a much bigger sexual history than I do, he only just took my virginity, but still, it makes me scared he wishes I was more like her. This thoughts show up in my head almost any time we do anything sexual together, it's horrible.
I also saw a message he sent in the GC 8 days after him and I had met: “I asked \ex-fwb* if she wanted to fuck just now, she's online she’s ignoring me lol”.* This was 8 days after we met, 8 days after he sent a message to that same GC about how he met a cute girl and he thinks that she likes him (me). We weren't official, didn't become so until 5 days after he sent that ex-fwb message, but still, it kind of hurts he wishes to hook up with her once more even after we had met, we had had our first date at that point. Especially also because he has told me multiple times that having sex with her reassured him that sex just as a means to get off wasn't for him, and that it was the emotional intimacy that made it important to him, he said he didn’t even enjoy it, wasn’t even attracted to her body type, etc…. yet he wanted to do it again? I fear he lied to me.
There were also some messages from the past about his ex. He send various different texts various different occasions about how he loves how extremely outgoing and sociable she is and that they can have such intelligent discussions. I feel like him and I never discuss things back and forth. I also am very, very much the opposite of "sociable", I am very quiet and subdued, I like to observe more than anything and talking to strangers makes me nervous. He also send a comment about how his ex, at the time when they were dating, had "perfect big boobs", which makes me insecure since mine are much more on the smaller side.
This is me being insecure. I am aware of that, fully. I want to fix it. I am in queue for therapy, but for now I’m doing my best with what I can do. It is absolutely exhausting, the way everything makes me second guess myself. I've considered breaking up multiple times, even though I love him and really can see myself having a family with him in the future, just because it is so draining and I feel much more insecure now than I ever did before we were dating. The little insecurity that I do show, he will go on to reassure me a tonhe's very loving, supportive and reassuring that he loves me for how I am, he's called me more attractive, trustworthy, more compatible, etc, that any girl he had a relationship with before, so it's not as if he is trying to make me insecure or anything. It's all in my head.

Hyperskill is the best software I've found thus far to learn to code. Hopefully this review helps.

Has this ever happened before to anyone working on any OneForma translation project? I've been making money with the platform for 3 years, but recently (about 3 months ago) I started receiving this type of warning frequently on more than 1 project. Recently, I received an invitation to work on a project that I was very excited about because it would have a large volume of work until the end of the year, but when I started working, this warning came after less than 2 hours. When I see this warning, all the hits disappear for a few days and occasionally come back (usually when other collaborators have already completed all the hits). I'm confused, and the platform doesn't respond no matter how many emails you send. Two days ago, my PM replied, saying that out of the 3 projects I was having trouble with, 2 of them had already been corrected, but for the current project, they are analyzing "quality inconsistencies" in my work. The thing is, they've given this explanation before, and even after the hits come back, the whole cycle repeats itself, and I'm left without an answer again, and they never explain what these quality inconsistencies are. Does anyone know what's going on? Is it some kind of shadow ban? I'm just doing my job as usual as I've always done since I started working with this platform.

This milestone will be quite an achievement, as Chapter Red has been an on-going project for years now. Until recently, we never imagined that it would ever release this soon, if ever, so you can imagine our excitement when we saw all of our work running well, smoothly, and without any major issues or crashes. On a bit of a darker note, some members of the team went through really hard times recently, so we held fast to Chapter Red as a means to evade what was and is still happening to us. What was simply a modding project became much more than that. Now that we talk about it amongst ourselves, we're already nostalgic about those endless nights spent in the SDK, Substance Painter, Blender, Cubase, and other programs, all the while trying to decipher the thick accents from our worldwide developer team (just imagine an Austrian guy trying to understand a Russian dude speaking to a French mate who just dropped some baffling joke about a Canadian... pls gib pills). Anyway, some of us have spent thousands of hours on this mod, pouring our very hearts and souls into those assets, and those naturally turned into not only pixels, but proof of what can be done against all odds life could ever throw at anyone. After reading through each and every piece of feedback we received by the playerbase, we can't be anything other than just happy we chose this path. Chapter Red may not and surely won't be perfect, but it's a legacy we'll still be incredibly proud of, whether it ends up in the base game or not. God knows we're thankful. Thankful for that journey, which helped us learn new techniques, new insights, even sometimes new jobs; Thankful for finding new friends along the way, even if some were lost in the meantime; Thankful for the trust we received while we weren't sure we were worth it; Thankful for having multiple nationalities sticking together at a time of great uncertainty; Most importantly, though, we're thankful for your support, from the very beginning to this moment. I was at a vegan event yesterday that I’ve been to several times over the course of my years as a vegan. I go there mainly for the food but it would be nice to meet new people there! I speak to the food traders a bit but generally, the other people who attend, come with their partners/entire families and occasionally, friends. I’m not exactly going to go up to a group of friends for example and interrupt their conversation.
I usually go alone which I do a lot of things alone so it’s not an issue in general but because everyone else comes with people they already know well, this leaves individuals to eat by themselves and not make any vegan friends (which I really want!) or potentially meet a partner. I’ve brought a vegan friend (who I met online) along once who lives abroad so that’s the only time but again, where is the chance to meet vegans in real life?
Only once has someone (other than a trader) spoken to me at one of these events and that conversation was along the lines of “where’s the queue?” and also, years ago, pre-2020.
So where do I meet other vegans who are also looking to meet other vegans and don’t already have their clan or whatever?? I’ve had volunteering suggested but honestly, I don’t have the capacity for that at the moment, even going to events like this is a rarity nowadays for me.
P.S. obviously the number of days in the title is made up but it’s really not far off, given how long I’ve been vegan and not met any man I could have a relationship with.

Before the first attempt at treatment, the cervical swab was positive for Ureaplasma spp, and PCR from the urine showed Ureaplasma and Mycoplasma hominis. From the first day I had a constant urge to urinate, bladder sensations and urethral burning. I still have that today. At the very beginning, I noticed a yellow discharge from the vagina, which disappeared after the first round of antibiotics. I read that Mycoplasma causes urological problems in women. Do you think I should concentrate on the treatment of Mycoplasma hominis, that is, only on the drugs that affect it the most, for example Clindamicim. Are there any experiences like this? Good evening everyone!
I have been DM'ing for quite some time but this is my first time running a homebrew campaign within the Forgotten Realms setting. Before this I've only ran Curse of Strahd and LMoP.
I'll very quickly set the scene: we're playing in an 'Acquisitions Incorporated' setting which means the party has their own franchise and is mostly driven by goals and expanding business next to their respective backstories. The playstyle is office-comedy and high fantasy.
Given that money and business plays a big role, one of the PC's father is a big mega-corporation CEO in Neverwinter who basically runs the city both underground and above ground. He made a pact with the archdevil Mammon to achieve his success. The PC has sworn his allegiance to Waukeen in secret and one day wants to topply his father's tyranny.
Now, I was planning on having this CEO as the BBEG of the campaign and having the party prevent him from bringing Mammon into this plane and usurping all companies in the Sword Coast to make a mega-monopoly, indirectly enslaving all people. It's a bit dramatic but in my opinion fits the business-comedy setting of the campaign. They can prevent this by gathering 6 pieces of a McGuffin artifact faster than the rival gang and henchmen of the CEO. However, I feel like the villain is pretty bland. Some questions for this enlightened subreddit:
-How do I make my villain more than just plain evil for the sake of greed and power. I've watched some YT videos on giving him goals of his own or redeeming qualities, but in this specific example: what would you suggest to nuance the villain. Which redeeming qualities or compelling backstory could work?
-I've found that a counterfactual of the villain's goal is a good way to give him more nuance. What would happen to him if he fails in his goal? What would be a good flip side of the coin when striking a deal with an archdevil?
I know creating a good, compelling villain is an art in itself. I would very much appreciate any feedback!
Fun fact: the BBEG in this example is called Ronald McDonald, and his golden arches bridges are holding together a rift in the city :)

My bf and I have been dating for 8 months now. We hang out for a day and a half on weekends and maybe 0-1 a few hours during the week.
When we hang out everything is great and we enjoy each other’s company, but once he leaves he ignores me for the rest of the day for PC games and maybe text me once to say he made it home and once to say goodnight.
During the week we both work pretty much the same schedule and text a handful or less of times during work hours. Once he gets home from work I do not hear from him for 5-6 hours straight, but I know he is playing his PC. If we hang out during the week either he invites me or sometimes I’ll ask to come over he’s already playing games and plays them for 1-1 1/2 hours with his friends while I sit there. Once he’s off his games we eat and spend maybe about an hour together then I got home. We do live in the same town and there are weeks where we see each other Friday night and Saturday. There was also one time we made plans Saturday for that night, but after getting back to his house from dinner he asked if he could play some games and I said sure thinking he just didn’t want to go anymore. Later that week I found out he told our friend (who I didn’t know was going to be there too) we just got done eating and we were going to stay in for the night (news to me since bf didn’t say that to me and just wanted to play games). Once I saw our friend he brought up going to the meet alone and said my bf and I ditched him, but I wanted to go and didn’t know he was going. I would have liked to of gone and think my bf should have asked me before making that decision for the both of us and choosing to play.
I am his first girlfriend and my last relationship was not the best. I’m also not very good at communicating and am not sure how to bring up how I’m feeling due to past reactions on expressing my feelings with past relationships. I know texting can be boring sometimes, but for me I want to stay in contact throughout the day. When my bf does these long hours with no contact it makes me feel he isn’t interested or as committed to the relationship as I am. I understand we have our own lives and I’m trying not to be all involved in his, but I am in the dark when it comes to not being together

We have a number of employees in our section that are well over the 640 hour 'cap' that State employees are supposed to have. I'm approaching 900 hours, personally. In a section of 34 people, 20 of us will be 'required' to take time off of work.
We've been directed to fill out that leave reduction plan, sign and submit it. For many of us, over the next 13 months from June 2024 through June 2025, it's basically impossible for us to take 5 days+ off a month and still get the work done.
Can management legally require employees to work overtime and use Vacation/AL in the same pay period? Example, take every Monday off, but work 10 hour days Tuesday to Friday? If we refuse, can we face disciplinary action if work is not completed by deadlines? Or can we refuse to follow the plan and work days that we were told to take off? Salaried employees in particular, have questioned whether it's legal to force them to take days off, but work overtime on working days to get the work done that they would have completed had they worked on those days but were forced to take them off.

I intend for this to be a mostly playful game, not something people get super upset over. I am also kinda serious in that having NPS units, NFs, and off-trail hiking, contribute to being a “top tier” state.
My wife and I have hiked in basically all of the 50 states. I admit, up front, that the Northeast is an area we respect but mostly by word of mouth. No serious NH, Maine encounters, just going on AT word of mouth and such. And a little day hike here and there.
I’m sure this will generate a ton of healthy discussion. I’m mainly interested in knowing if anyone would challenge the top ten (or top five) and also how the West should interact with the East.
Because the West is always going to dominate this list, and it should.
Can North Carolina really compete with, say, Oregon? I grew up in NC and do not believe so. I am a very anti-east coast hiker, to be transparent.
Not a strong “top tier 1 to bottom tier 1” trajectory but somewhat. Oregon is low tier 1, for example, and New Mexico is high tier 2. Alaska is top 1. Washington-Utah are all in a sub-tier. Zona-Nevada as a sub-tier.
Obviously these things can shift around, apart from Alaska, and if you really love the desert you will attack a lot of this. But I find it entertaining, if not educating.
