I was wondering if you all might have any personal recommendations for a general contractor you've used before? We're looking to repair some dry rot, possible repaireplace some windows, and repaireplace gutters. What was your experience in using your contractor and what sort of project did you use them for? I was reading a Reddit post and came across a quote: “comparison is the thief of joy.” It’s sometimes attributed to Teddy Roosevelt but 1^st published by Dr. Ray Cummings. In reviewing Reddit posts and working with med students applying for residency, I’ve see too many that are beating themselves up because someone: 1)has higher STEP scores, 2)more HP or Honors, 3) more interviews, 4)more publications, 5)more presentations, 6)went to a T20 med school, 7)had four away rotations, 7)matched to their #1, and so on. You can’t do much about the other people. There’s also the possibility that they could be inflating their #s. Focus in on you and what you can do.
I’ve seen what I’d call residents with an average CV match with just a few interviews. I’ve worked with people with 15+ interviews, not match. Note: My experience would say the person with few interviews and matching has a solid application and is a good interviewer while the person with many interviews who doesn’t match or matches at the bottom of their rank list may have interview issues. But most importantly, all the comparing is mentally and emotionally taxing. Instead, use that energy to improve your own application…to focus on your rotations or studying for exams. I know that’s easier said than done, but try to not compare. The key to remember is it doesn’t matter whether you Match at your #1 or your #15 or get a position during SOAP or in the SCRAMBLE. You matched. Go into that position with the frame of mind that you’re going to learn all the knowledge and acquire all the skills you can to be an attending (Oh, and don’t try not to compare attending salaries/benefits especially across specialties and in different regions of the country…usually, you’re comparing apples and oranges). Instead, be happy you got into med school, that you passed the STEP tests, that you didn’t fail a class/rotation, and that you had interviews. Yes, I know many of you are trying to get into competitive specialties and these things matter, but the key is to try to not compare. Focus on you. Or as Polonius said in Hamlet, “To thine own self be true.”

Greetings. I know this question been around a lot lately but i need a support in this matter.
Recently i was considering buying an iPad Air (M2) and i was thinking of getting it in 11 or 13 inches?
I know its all depends on the use cases so here goes:
I am thinking to buy this ipad for watching youtube videos, tv shows, playing games specially on bed before i go to sleep.
I also want to make it my portable machine since i own and use Mac Mini (M2 Pro) for heavy task like (video and photo editing). I am also planning to use this ipad for personal productivity, light photo & video edit, and maybe light music production in the future (learning a little bit as a hobby)
I used to have a 2020 MacBook Pro (intel with touch bar) that i rarely use, and i gifted it to my sister in law since she is in need of a laptop for college.
I have an ipad mini 6 (64 GB with cellular) that i adore and i use almost every day specially to watch videos before bed.
My personal phone is an iPhone, but i use a Samsung galaxy phone as my work mobile as well as a TabS9 (with cellular) for work since they work well together and my company only offers windows machines to work with. (I never took my tab s9 out of my backpack at home, it stays there until i arrived at work)
My plan for the new iPad Air is to replace my ipad mini for entertainment before bed (I mentioned before bed a lot since i heard the 13” is difficult to hold), also for personal productivity as i mentioned earlier.
And i am also planning to make my ipad mini as portable device where i took it to work for note taking and reading specially for meeting also taking it everywhere else.
So now after this long description (sorry for that) what is your suggestion? Ipad air 11, 13 or I should not bother buying device and keep my current system as it is?

Its been 9 months since i am dating him. It used to be really nice in the start as it should be. Then i moved in with him.. i am not allowed to meet my friends anymore.. he gets sad and upset when i go out.. i have started telling lies to my friends that i am sick or something so that i stay home.. i am a very social person who used to be always happy with everyone around her, now i am just a sad and lonely person.. haven’t felt like this ever.. i was the girl who never used to shed tears, now i cry everyday in bus or while shower or when sleeping next to him. I pretend to be happy rest of the times, in front of him or around people. If i go out, he will stop talking to me or come near me since i told him i am gonna go out and a week , month later, he will be staying upset from me. I have no space to be sad. I always had good loving relations in the past, don’t know how to cope up with this one. Its not that he doesn’t loves me, he loves me but thinks about himself always, its never me.

I’m a second year apprentice in a medium sized resi company and there is not a day i don’t think about quitting. I feel like i’m getting ripped off for doing the least pleasant work and being paid so little.
I used to work with lots of different journeymen/women when i started there and my presence always felt appreciated as the third guy who helped the project move along a little faster than expected. It’s a great company for residential: treats their employees well, lots of great employees, the boss is friendly and we are not stressed on speed like other resi companies.
Thing is, an apprentice 4th year left the company and now they permanently coupled me to his journeyman. In all the company he would have been my last choice. Before working there he worked for a company that would burn out their employees, always giving them less and less time to do more and more work then fire them when they didn’t need them anymore. He’s not a bad person, i can tell, but he still has the mindset from this company.
He’s always sending me do the more tricky stuff that takes more time and when i’m done he makes sure i know its never good enough or fast enough for his liking, but its never so bad that its worth wasting his time showing me a different way to do it (he tries to tell me with words but sometimes you gotta learn by watching someone do it in front of you). When he gives me instructions on what to do next, he always tells me a long list of things vocally in quick succession(too much to remember all at once), then if i forget to do one thing out of his demands he acts like i’m stupid and i should have known.
I feel like i’m taken for granted. If i’m gonna do all the unpleasant tasks you don’t want to do, at least give me some respect for doing them. He is always complaining about speed even if we are ahead on schedule. He says stuff like “if we finish this project earlier the boss is gonna make more money”. The boss is a good generous man, of course i want him to make money but he never asks for any of this. The journeyman is just setting arbitrary deadlines to “challenge” himself while he does all the fun work and i do all the annoying work. He says everyone has to put up with this shit as an apprentice and that i should be grateful i’m not working for his old company.
Anyway i still haven’t decided on what i’m gonna do about the situation. I don’t feel like bitching about it to my boss hoping he passes me on to another journeyman. His word as a journeyman will have more weight than mine and I know the trade has more to offer than roping houses and being complained about all the time.
I think i’m just gonna actually quit and try commercial or get a course in control/plc to become a maintenance guy, or do some fly in fly out on some big industrial job sites. I just needed to vent i guess. If you are in a similar situation feel free to talk about it in the replies.

I'm just curious. I always went to Harry Potter books as my go-to when I was younger, and I recently started rereading the fourth one out of nowhere and it's making me happy. I still read constantly, (I'm even an editor right now for my job and still read all the time outside of work.)
But past English Lit when I was 17 (I'm 34), I haven't read any new fiction books. Or rather, so few that it's been like one every 4 years. I know too, it's because I've always had this 'thing' in the back of my mind that I "should be doing something else." Like a guilt for partaking in an activity that won't necessarily further me in life.
I've only started to relax in the last couple of years. I want to start writing fiction for fun, but that feels guilt-inducing to me too even though I know it's ridiculous, and life is meant to live. I know it's something that was clearly ingrained in me that I have to decondition out of (I had an authoritarian immigrant father who always told me the point of life is not to be happy but to be useful lol), but for the rest of you do you still read fiction?
If so what kinds of books? How often? I love Harry Potter, but I'm also into some new suggestions. I've always liked witchy books personally.

When it comes to discussing sex before a first meet-up, opinions are divided. On one side, skipping the sex talk can build anticipation, adding an element of surprise and excitement to the encounter. However, my recent experience raised some doubts. I met someone who described herself as "pretty kinky," but our definitions didn't exactly align after discussing it further.
While I'm not overly focused on kinks, understanding basic sexual compatibility seems crucial. It simplifies things to have at least a baseline idea of what each person is into. But then there's the risk of bringing it up too soon. Some may view you as a pervert, which could completely alter their perception of you.
So, what's the consensus here? Is it better to be safe and potentially surprised, or should we aim for clarity from the get-go to ensure compatibility?

So I used to be a diehard mocha person bht I wanted something sweeter. Started on iced butter pecan which was OK, but then I tried the butter pecan frozen and omg my world has been rocked.
Only downside is that it's setting me back $6.25 for a large or $5.50 if I go to a different location (not sure why it's cheaper).
So I was thinking hmmm I have an ice coffee maker, a blender, so In theory if I bought dunkin coffee grounds and some kind of butter pecan syrup I could possibly recreate it.
Has anyone tried making a frozen coffee at home? How were the results?

This post is to express my anger about the Heidelberg housing market and dealing with prospective landlords.
(I am German but lived abroad for almost 20 years. This puts me in the privileged position of looking like a typical German guy and speaking German, but with the downside of not having a rental record in Germany.)
I found an ad for a nice flat to rent in Weststadt. The viewing was organised my an agency and the “Makler” did a great job showing me around and explaining the details. During the viewing, they told me that the owners are an elderly couple who would like to get to know the person renting their flat. I thought: sure why not. A week later, I was pleasantly surprised to receive an invitation from the owners to meet them. So I went to their house, expecting to have a nice informal chat just to get to know each other before I sign the contract. But then I meet this very old couple (I guess between 85-90 yo) …
They knew less about the flat than the agent. They didn’t even know how much they charge for the flat. But they told me how much they liked their previous tenant and how well their previous tenant got along with the neighbours.
Half the conversation was about me not owning a car, and that this is problematic, because the flat comes with a parking spot and they didn’t know how to handle that. They suggested that this flat may not be the right choice for me, because I have no use for the parking spot.
They asked me why I want to live in Heidelberg of all places after living in such exciting places as Brisbane, Boston, London, and Frankfurt. They knew this from my CV, which they requested from me prior to the meeting. Since my employer is in Heidelberg, meaning that I am working in Heidelberg now, I didn’t know what else to say. They were still surprised that I want to live in Heidelberg.
They told me that they only want to have long term tenants. I told them I am looking for a place to live long term. They told me I could meet someone and may move out. I told them that’s possible, but difficult to predict. They told me that this 74sqm flat would be too small for two people. I just stared at them.
I expected this to be an informal meeting after they made a decision. But they told me that they are interviewing every candidate the agent recommended. So I asked them when I can expect their decision. They told me: this week. I said: given that today is Thursday, will I hear back tomorrow? They said: no, we will meet the other candidates tomorrow and then make a decision on the weekend. One of them said they just remembered they won’t be there on the weekend. The other said that the agent will tell me on Monday. I wanted to tell them that Monday is a bank holiday, but didn’t, because the whole thing was just so disorganised.
In conclusion, meeting the landlords was a farce. I didn’t get any new information, they didn’t get any new information. But I learned that they are two very old people who are nicely tugged away in their large house in the far reaches of Boxberg. Maybe I need to buy a car to qualify for renting their flat, and maybe I should have promised them to not get into a relationship to avoid the possibility of having to share the 74sqm flat with someone else. I really like the flat, but meeting the landlords now put me off. In hindsight, I remembered the very first thing they told me: we will check on you every week, which she meant as a joke and laughed, while he was just sitting there not reacting. But having to deal with landlords who are 85+ years old, who pay an agency to do the work, but then try to do this again and the interviewing again themselves without a plan or idea about the rental market, this may not be good idea.

We are looking for technology to replace current BI system based partially on SSAS.
Where you can create measures, for example, a section of the auto generated SSAS Cube would have:

However, and here is something really cool about what SSAS does, that I have not found any other solution in the market to provide the same functionality:
If the user now goes, and creates a Bar Chart, drags the SAME measure expression defined above, BUT also drags a filter, say Vendor Type column - the bar automatically populates! By reverse engineering, the matching SQL query is:

SELECT `23505_ Vendor Type` AS VendorType, COUNT(DISTINCT `23503_ Vendor Name``) AS VendorCount FROM `Form_3223_ Market Vendor Attendance` GROUP BY `23505_ Vendor Type`; 

This gives the same data needed for a bar chart!
I cant programmatically create varying views like that, when the user does not know how he want to slice the data until actually working on it, because I only have one data point without the filter.
Adding the filter in advance is not practical for the business needs, and playing around with changing it in one part of the platform, then going back into dashboard to see the effects of the newly generated View, is also not great UX experience.
For business reasons, there is a constraint forcing the use of this model, relying on user defining partial things like I've explained, and only later slicing into dimensions.
However SSAS has to go its just too slow (and expensive).
The only alternative I've found, is Apache Kylin, but it seem to be old, Java based, not well maintained, lacks community support - I've spent hours trying to set it up using:

1. Docker (no arm image), and even using amd64 on Mac, it just gets stuck on some components.
2. Direct install using the tar file - ${KYLIN_HOME}/bin/kylin.sh start just hangs there, no log file is created I can't tell what's going on with it.

This and lack of documentation in various aspects, makes me feel its not something we can base a new solution on.
But I have not found any other solution that'd provide the above described functionality.

I've been away from my Nmother and Ngrandmother for almost 4 year now and have been slowly working through everything.
I'm now 22 (f) and I was kicked out at 18 by my Ngrandmother for not returning home after she beat me.
But something I came to realize recently was why I was hated and the scapegoat.
With my Ngrandmother I was the reason my mother was so sick. My mother had a preexisting condition and it was made worse by being pregnant with me. I was born via c-section 2 weeks early due to my mother needing imitate surgery and she truly never recovered. I was also the second ginger, my oldest sister who was her favourite is also a ginger. And she hated the fact that I was stealing her uniqueness. She also hated the fact that I resembled my father personality wise (she hates my father) and would use that constantly against me.
Which is ood because I look like a spitting image of my mother, and my father likes to remind me of that. Because deep down my father still cares for my mother and found her beautiful, thats his way of telling me I'm beautiful.
As per my Nmother, she never had a ture connection with me and resents me for stealing the attention away from my middle sister, who was her favourite child. My middle sister was born almost a month early and was babied up until she moved out. My mother also hated how independent I was and how I wouldn't let her help me with anything. Which was her own doing because I was never good enough for attention unless I was doing something bad.
I now know I'm not the problem and it was always them making me feel like I was the issue. I was just a kid needing to be loved, but was made to feel like an outcast in my own family. I'm the youngest and was never the favourite, I was just another mouth to feed and a punching bag for 2 grown adult women. When I left I went mostly no contact, but tried for a relationship with my mother. In the end it failed and I felt destroyed.
I have a fantastic relationship with my oldest sister which suprises most people. We actually live together and are very similar. We very much enjoy each other's company. My middle sister and I have a strained relationship because she can't get over not being the golden child.
In the end I don't hate who I am and I'm proud of how far I've come. I love having matching hair with my oldest sister and how similar we are. I'm healing very slowly as the abuse goes as far back as I can remember. But slowly and steadily I'm finding new things about myself. I'm not my past, but my past made me who I am today.

Superheroes have only been around for about Six years now, emerging in the year 2015. Peter Parker is still enrolled at ESU at 21, Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson only just started their new law firm in Hell's Kitchen after graduating from Columbia last year. The Avengers are currently operating out of the brand spanking new base the Impossible City, the FF are going strong at the Baxter Building with the She-Hulk temporarily taking Thing's place, Doctor Strange is Sorcerer Supreme operating out of the Sanctum Sanctorum in Greenwich, the Inhumans are still on the moon in Attilan, and The X-Men are diligently teaching younger students at Charles Xavier's School for gifted Youngsters... for now.
The FF and X-men, and plenty of Street-level heroes such as Spidey and DD debuted in Year One, with the Avengers following suit in Year Two. Though the heroes that formed the Avengers such as Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Black Panther, etc. debuted in year one, they didn't form Earth's Mightiest Heroes until the frozen Captain America was discovered in Year Two, and then there came a day unlike any other.
They operated out of Avengers Tower for the first four years, before it was eventually destroyed during an invasion by Ultron, resulting in them taking up residence in Ultron's former base the Impossible City, currently orbiting the Earth for the pst year. Current members are T'Challa (current chair person), Iron Man, Captain Marvel , Thor, Wonder Man, Beast, Scarlet Witch.
Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne both perished in the struggle against Ultron with Scott Lang already having become the second Ant-Man, and Cap is off looking for Bucky at the moment with the aid of the Falcon.
Peter Parker grew up with his parents until he was about five years old and his parents died, resulting in him being sent to live with his mother's sister May and her husband Ben (they're relatively young only about 50 at the event of Peter becoming Spider-Man). He became best friends with Harry Osborn (and they have a healthy friendship, think Insomniac for their friendship) at around ten, and they both befriended Carlie Cooper (the love of this Peter's life) in freshman year of High School. Then of course, he got bitten by the genetically altered Spider, and selfishly attempted to cash in on his powers, before learning that great Power there must also come great responsibility at a terrible price. But here's the kicker ... Aunt May died instead of Uncle Ben, the robber being an affilate under Kingpin (while Fisk didn't order the murder, the killer still worked under him).
He is good friends with Johnny Storm and Bobby Drake, with the three of them meeting every once in a while at the Statue of Liberty. He also dated Jessica Jones for a while in this reality before she got her powers, eventually ending things just before college started. Meanwhile, Uncle Ben has opened up a boarding home for seniors in his house after Peter moved out for college. J. Jonah Jameson's reputation has been permanently ruined due to his involvement in the creation of The Scorpion, and the Spot to capture Spider-Man through illegal experimentation, which resulting in mass civilian casualties in the former's quest to gain vengeance upon Jonah including his wife and son, leading to Robbie becoming Publisher of the Daily Bugle as of Year Five. And Jameson becomes embittered, blaming Spider-Man for everything that ultimately leads to Jonah embracing the identity of the Spider-Slayer.
Carlie meanwhile has always dreamed of becoming a C.S.I like her father, before recently discovering that her father was involved in a police conspiracy against the costumed heroes, resulting in her turning him in. Peter and Carlie are currently together after a very long wait, and is it actually going rather well for our webhead. Norman Osborn has not yet become the Green Goblin, however Spidey still has plenty of enemies to keep him busy such as Doc Ock, Mysterio, Kraven, and Kingpin to name a few. (Also this is a bit of an aesthetic choice for me but in this reality Peter's webs are actually red instead of white in this reality).
Ben Reilly was created by Miles Warren in Year Four, before he managed to escape and was laying low in the city for a couple of months, and after teaming up with Peter to put a stop to the Jackel, departs for San Francisco to make a life for himself as the Scarlet Spider, with help from Peter who asked the FF to help set up his identity such as forging him a G.E.D, Driver's license, Birth certificate, Etc. Peter and Ben still keep in touch and consider each other brothers.
Twins Matt and Mike Murdock grew up raised by their father Jack Murdock after the death of their mother in a tragic accident that also resulted in Matt's blindness. Matthew had always obeyed their father's wish to be more focused on books and studying to make something of himself, while Mike rebelled and preferred the world of sports and popularity. However, after his blindness Matt secretly trained with Stick to sharpen his other senses, to Eventually when the twins were sixteen they went to view their father's boxing match for the championship title and Jack refused to throw the match against due to his sons' watching, determined to show them that "Their old man may be a loser, but he ain't no quitter." Immediately after the match he was gunned down by Wilson Fisk, before he became the Kingpin. After their father's death the twins dealt with in their own ways, Mike turned to grifting in order to support himself and his brother while in the foster system, while Matt grew determined to use his training to seek justice for his father, and to gain his law degree to fulfill his father's wishes for him.
The X-Men are still in Westchester teaching the gifted Youngsters. In this reality the New Mutants team serves as a junior varsity team for any young mutants hoping to become future X-men, sort of like the big dogs on campus. However within the year things will certainly get rather... firey if you catch my drift.
Current members of the X-Men are... Magik, Colossus, Storm, Wolverine, Psylocke, Iceman, Kitty Pryde, and Sunfire. (Also in this reality Nightcrawler takes Angel's place as one of the founding members of the X-Men.)
Current Roster for New Mutants: Armor, Pixie, Jubilee, Glob, Dust, Sunspot, and Triage.
While the big teams aren't reliably in New York due to their missions, the street-level heroes who are regularly in New York are, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist (the two already having formed Heroes For Hire in Year Three), superpowered P.I Jessica Jones, Moon Knight, and the recently emerged sixteen year olds Cloak and Dagger, having debuted about six months ago. They've all got beef with Kingpin, but none more so than Spidey and DD, with Fisk being considered both of their archnemeses .
Also Punisher's running around, only to get constantly beaten down by the other heroes, cause of his craziness.
As for the FF, the Secret Wars on Battleworld took place last year, with the Thing hanging back on Battleworld to explore the universe for a while after he shedded his rocky epidermis and (think Ultimate Marvel Ben Grimm) ,while She-Hulk has been filling his vacancy on the FF for the past year, and Sue and Reed are gratefully raising their twins Franklin and Valeria Richards.

Let me preface this by saying nothing in the future is a guarantee. I am going to make a lot of assumptions in this post, but I don't personally think any are unreasonable. This is also a thought experiment - my word should in no way be taken as gospel. Well, here goes.
Assumptions:

1. The amount of supply Bitcoin in existence will never exceed 21m, or S
2. There is a subset of people in this world (like myself) who will exchange their fiat for Bitcoin at any price. We will call this demand from hodlers, or D^H. Since these people will buy at any price, we can assume D^H is a positive, changing value.
3. The value of D^H will grow in a direct relationship with inflation. It may not be proportional, but more dollars in market = more expendable income = more money hodlers put into BTC.
4. People will constantly trade into and out of Bitcoin aka people who want quick gains and do not want to use Bitcoin as their treasury reserve asset. We will call this demand from traders, or D^T.
5. Demand from traders can either be a negative or a positive value depending on time. However, as the number of hodlers in the market increase, the number of traders decreases. Okay, lets start with our base function. Most of us know that prices in markets are set by 2 things: supply and demand. We will write our first function as:

If you live with chronic pain or disease or even if you’re Highly Sensitive or neurodivergent, you know the struggle of conforming to the able-bodied, neurotypical, stock image office culture.
You know what I’m talking about. Healthy-looking normies with lanyards around their necks, smiling while holding their coffee in the boardroom.
Who does that?
I’ve been living with chronic pain for over 10 years.
I’ve learned a lotta lessons the hard way about how to take care of myself living in a body prone to pain.
For instance, movement is crucial to my wellness routine. I cannot sit at a computer 8+ hours a day. I need frequent breaks so I can move and stretch. On a good day, I can go 5-ish hours at my desk.
Because my muscles need to be exercised frequently, I also have an expensive gym membership with classes. I hurt the most when I’m sitting still. If I neglect my body, I get flare ups.
At the same time, NOT overusing my body is also key in preventing pain. My hands, wrists, and arms are prone to pain if I use them too much—clicking, scrolling, weeding, grasping, all-of-the-above.
My personality is also a factor in my pain patterns. I tend to lose track of time, forgetting to drink water or get up and stretch. I’m a champion hyperfocus-er.
It’s known that perfectionism, conscientiousness, and anxiousness are all common traits in people who have chronic pain.
And well, that’s me in a nutshell!
I’ve done countless hours of physical therapy, occupational therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic care, and network spinal analysis—not to mention I know exercises that use my brain to calm down pain and danger signals.
And yet, my body is still prone to pain.
I don’t think the issue is solely rooted in my unique skeletomuscular issues or personality.
It’s also that modern day living is conducive to pain.
I had a sedentary career for 8 years, because as a millennial I was sold an idea that I *had* to go to college and get a professional white-collar job. That ended up aligning well with my interests because I wanted to do study abroad advising and program development in higher ed.
But in the U.S., universities are always understaffed, everyone is always overworked, and they use the most mind-numbing archaic technology that makes the work tedious and time-consuming.
Hence, me hovering over a computer for hours at a time getting lost in spreadsheets.
So is it any mystery that I have neck and wrist issues?
Since leaving my university job, I’ve vowed to not worsen my chronic pain by overdoing myself.
I refuse to be someone’s employee who is confined to stupid AF work hours that are long, arbitrary, and unhealthy.
I refuse to feel guilty sleeping in on days when I’m tired.
I listen to my body.
I’m learning to honor my cycles—energy, seasons, menstrual, etc.—that don’t give a rat’s ass about “consistency” (You must work 8 hours a day, Monday to Friday! You must be at work at the same time every day! No you cannot take a nap in the middle of the day!).
I intentionally move slowly, though my old urges to hustle are still there sometimes.
It’s been a journey, but I’m proud to say I’ve come a long way.
And while I do kinda miss the predictable income and 401(k), the salary was shit and the retirement plans are all watered down now.
Ain’t worth it.

These are Spyderco seconds, while they are technically 'new' knives, there are slight blemishes and issues that caused Spyderco QC to fail them, and there is no warranty with these knives. I'll be listing what I have found wrong with each knife. There is a chance I've missed something, but please note that these almost always come with small imperfections.
None of these issues affect the quality of the blade, some are small cosmetic issues(edge bevels not matching, snails, etc.), some are small mechanical issues that can be adjusted(tight pivot, favoring one side, etc).

Chapter 12
Lacy awoke in a hallway. It was similar to the hallway that she first awoke in. Only exception was that it was covered in blood. Bodies laid on the floor with multiple lacerations. Lacy was already standing up when she had first opened her eyes. She could hear grunting coming from the other side of the hallway. When Lacy moved her eyes to the end of the hallway she saw herself. Looking directly at her was Lacy. This one was covered in blood and was holding the axe that she had. Her eyes looked deranged. In an instant the other Lacy dashed towards the real Lacy. Without hesitation Lacy lifted the axe and dropped it directly onto the imposter's head. The body slumped to the floor and Lacy breathed a sigh of relief. But as she began to continue forward the thought of what she had just done hit her like a bullet. Looking down at your own body would make a sane person go mad. Lacy barely reacted. Turning around she noticed a new hole. She could continue going further. Lacy had no emotion as she stepped into the hole. The only thing on her mind being the voice that she last heard the Elk use. It was unlike no other voice. It was calm but menacing. Like it knew that Lacy could not win. She brushed the thought off and continued pushing forward. She had to face whatever else this place had in store for her. She had to.
Chapter 13
As Lacy stepped through the hole she noticed that she was no longer passing out. Instead she just appears in these new areas. This time she was in a house. The home was run down. It gave Lacy a sense of dread. Walking around the building Lacy looked at the furniture. It was furnished as a normal house. Like a place that a family would enjoy their time in. A sofa was facing a TV. On the screen was an episode of some children's show that Lacy had probably enjoyed when she was younger. Directly in front of the TV was a childrens chair. Looking at the living room gave Lacy a feeling of nostalgia that drowned out the despair of this awful place. “Hello, is anyone here?” Lacy asked but got no reply. Looking around the room Lacy saw a hallway that led into the kitchen. The paint on the walls were peeled off. Entering the room Lacy smelled the stench of death. Moving further in she saw a girl on the table. The body was almost completely decayed. Just as Lacy was about to inspect the body a loud crash erupted from the living room. Picking up the axe and holding it close to her chest Lacy walked through the hallway. In the living room the sofa was flipped upside down as well as the TV. A ghostly wail cried out and Lacy felt herself become cold. Continuing through the living room Lacy noticed a staircase that led up that she had not seen before. Clutching the axe in her hands Lacy walked towards the stairs. As Lacy approached the bottom the lights began to flicker. The steps creaked as she made her way towards the top. Each step she took made her feel colder. Her eyes met the top of the stairs. A ghostly figure appeared to walk across the doorway out of sight. Lacy felt her legs freeze at the sight. The thing she saw seemed to be transparent. Lacy knew what that meant. “How the hell do I kill a ghost?” Pushing up the stairs there was a hallway. Two doors on each side with one door at the very end. Continuing forward Lacy opened the first door on her right. Inside was the bedroom of someone older. The bed was made and aside from the cobwebs and dust everything was in order. As Lacy turned around to go through the other door, another crash could be heard. Lacy turned around to the furniture ripped to shreds. The bed was torn in half and the dresser was opened with all of the clothes spread on the floor. Another chill ran through Lacy's body. A quiet whisper entered Lacy’s ears. The words were spoken too fast to be made out. It was so quiet Lacy had to focus to hear it. Continuing forward Lacy opened the first door on the left. Inside was a bathroom. The bathroom was pristine. No dust or cobwebs. Just a white pristine bathroom. The shower curtains were closed. Lacy walked towards the curtains. The curtains shifted as if there was someone behind them. Lacy reached her hand towards the curtains. Another chill ran through her body as the whispers got slightly louder. Moving the curtains, the tub was empty. Lacy breathed a sigh of relief. As she turned around to face the door the room became a dark blood red. Lacy looked at the doorway and saw a girl. The child could not have been older than twelve. Lacy froze at the sight. The kids arm outreached and pointed towards the door at the end of the hallway.
Chapter 14
Just as fast as the kid appeared she disappeared. Lacy peaked her head out of the door and viewed the door at the end of the hallway slowly open. A red light emitted from the room. Lacy stepped towards the open door. The whispers that she had heard were getting louder the closer she got to the room. As she got closer the whispering became clearer. It was gibberish. Nothing that she heard was legible and it was loud enough for Lacy to understand. The door was fully opened by the time Lacy got to it. In the room was a red symbol on the ground surrounded by candles. The room was dark, only lit by the candles and the miniscule glow of the symbol. The image was hex. In the middle was a book. Walking towards the hex Lacy noticed a mirror. Looking into the mirror Lacy found the source of the whispering. Floating behind her with its hands on her soldiers was the ghost child. The boy's eyes were black and was whispering in her ear at an inconceivable speed. The image shocked Lacy. Turning around, the boy was not there. Looking back at the mirror Lacy could still see the child behind her. Looking back at the hex, Lacy saw the girl sitting in front of the book. As Lacy stepped closer to the book the whispering became louder. Sitting in front of the girl Lacy grabbed the book. The title of the book was Goodnight Moon. The little girl pointed to the book. Lacy opened it and began reading from the pages. “In the great green room, there was a telephone and a red balloon and a picture of a cow jumping over the moon.” As Lacy read the whispering became even louder. “And there were three little bears sitting on chairs. And two little kittens and a pair of mittens.” Lacy continued reading. Lacy turned her head around to the doorway to see a multitude of people in robes coming up the stairs. The people were making a haunting moan as they stepped towards the room. Lacy read more and more. “Good night moon, goodnight cow jumping over the moon. Good night light and the red balloon, goodnight bears, goodnight chairs.” The choir was getting closer to the door and the whispering was growing louder and louder. Lacy continued reading. Just as the choir got to the door. “Goodnight stars, goodnight air, goodnight noises everywhere.” As Lacy said the last words, the noises around her went quiet. Lacy looked up and the girl was gone. The choir was no longer at the doorway. And looking into the mirror the boy was no longer whispering into her ear. The entire house was silent. Lacy looked back at where the book was. In its place was another hole. Lacy looked at it with dead eyes. Knowing what was about to happen.
Chapter 15
Lacy awoke in a study. The room was undisturbed. In front of her was a desk, multiple insect and other animal taxidermies were spread throughout the room. On the desk was a plaque that read Professor Crawford- Biology Expert. Above the desk on the wall was a quote marked in blood. The words read “Abandon All Hope, Ye Who Enter Here”.
Lacy looked behind the desk and in it was a skeleton holding a bible and a gun in his hand. Lacy looked back at the desk and found another tape recorder. Lacy grabbed it fearing what she was about to hear. Pressing the button Lacy heard a familiar voice.
Day one:
Our explorers found a mysterious hole in the middle of Israel. The men decided to not interact with it and instead immediately report it. The Overseer immediately demanded that a base should be made around the anomaly. Preparation immediately began on the base but unfortunately a couple managed to get past security and decided to step into the hole. That couple was not seen again. The building was finally made and studies on the hole began. Originally studies were done externally. The scientist discovered that it had no gravitational force, radiation, or mass. It dumbfounded them because of its existence as a hole. Then the physical tests started. At first they just threw things into the hole. The objects would just bounce off.
Day:15
Today is the day that they decided to send in a test subject. Some guy that worked in human resources. They offered him a high paying job, not telling him the gravity of the situation. They had a rope tied to him but when he stepped through the rope burned off. The man was never seen again. Later in the day they sent another man this time with a video recorder. When the man stepped into the hole the recording stopped abruptly. The scientists were confused at the entire situation. The only thing that they could do was monitor the size of it to make sure it was not growing.
Day: 23
The Overseer has lost her mind. She started kidnapping people to put into the hole. At first it was criminals, then it moved on to the homeless, then they started putting innocent people into the hole. She claimed it was to just see if someone could escape it. I have to tell the police what is going on. The people must know what has happened to their loved ones.
Day: 24
Someone found out I was going to tell the authorities. The Overseer has ordered me to go into the hole. I'm bringing this tape recorder with me. I will survive whatever this is. I will tell the world the horrors of these people.
Lacy Put down the recorder. Tears began to flow down her eyes. She didn't know if the truth made her feel better or worse than when she didn't know. She now knew that her chances of escaping were little to none. Looking at the corpse on the ground she noticed another tape recorder. Grabbing it Lacy pressed play.
Day:
I don’t know how long it has been. I don’t want to keep going. Hole after hole I can not find my way out of this place. I steppin into a place that had a lodge. I heard voices mocking me. Telling me things that I didn’t want to believe. Then an Elk appeared. In its voice I heard something that sounded malevolent. It speaked of this place referring to the holes in itself. The being was demonic. I shot it and another hole appeared. I kept going. I don’t even remember how many holes I have been through. This room will be my last. My hope is gone. That is what the Elk wanted. That is why I can feel myself rotting away. I'm sorry to those I left behind. I have given up. Hell has won.
The tape recorder ended. Lacy looked at the corpse. Looking back to the door of the room Lacy saw another hole. Tears ran down Lacy’s cheek as she stepped through the hole. Hanging on to what little hope she had left.
Chapter 16
Lacy awoke in a familiar place. The hallways were dingy. The lights were flickering. Lacy’s face was burning as her heart rate increased. “Lacy” The voice made Lacy’s blood run cold. Looking into the darkness The Smiling Man stepped into the blinking lights. Lacy’s legs could not move. She was crying so hard her eyes hurt. The Smiling Man walked towards her. His eyes widened as his smile became wider revealing the blood stained teeth. Lacy tried to move. She remembered the words on the recorder. It won't end. Lacy did not move. She looked directly at The Smiling Man. Lacy closed her eyes accepting what little mercy this place offered. The Smiling Man ran towards her plunging his teeth into her neck. Lacy felt her life fading away. Remembering her father she let out a smile.
Epilogue
Lacy awoke. She had remembered dying. “Lacy”. The same voice rang through her ears. Lacy stood up. She was holding the same kitchen knife she found in the beginning of all of this. Lacy could feel her body run cold. “It won't end.” Lacy muttered these words over and over again. The Smiling Man entered the light. Lacy raised the knife. Covered in blood, Lacy repeated the words.
“It won't end.”

Is there an anime that has mythical beasts, but especially dragons, that’s humorous asf and has romance in it?
I'm looking for an anime that features a mystical, incredibly powerful being who ends up living with a regular person. This strong being, who’s used to being all powerful, should take on a more domestic role and tries to fit into human society but fails, usually in hilarious ways.
The more beings involved the better, especially if there’s more romance that comes with it. If it’s a more slice of life type that’s cool too, it doesn’t need to have 100 action scenes for me to enjoy it.
