One speech that I love is Alto Stratus' speech, his first and most important one, to the Jabiimi Nationalists in Star Wars Republic: The Battle of Jabiim, his speech describing the frustration, grievances and rage of not only the people of Jabiim but also of the tens of thousands of other planets and species that joined the Confederacy of Independent Systems due to neglect or abuse by the Republic:

I finally muster the courage to finally resigned from my work. I thought I'd regret it, but I'm honestly feeling so relieved and at peace with my decision. Nakahinga ako ng maluwag. I've always been a firm believer na if your work costs you your mental sanity, then it's not worth it.
Skl, I was working with a Customer Service Manager from an e-commerce merchandise provider in the US. I was with them for a year, and all throughout my stay, I never felt connected to the team. There were initially three of us, but one left recently kasi nag abroad. Yung goal ko lang naman sa work is simple — pumasok, magtrabaho, hit my daily goals, and end my shift in peace. However, throughout my stay, I noticed that my client treats me differently than two of my co-workers. She treats them as part of the team, and ako spare tire lang. She always acknowledges them and shower them appreciation, tapos ako breadcrumbs lang. Whenever the two commits major mistakes, wala kang maririnig sa kanya. Pag ako, which is rare tapos minor lang, she loves to make an example out of me sa team. Nage-expect akong she would slide me a DM to inform me about my mistake and what should I do better next time pero hindi ganun. Pagalit always yung tono and she loves being shady about it. Whenever I attempt to reach out and open up about how I've been feeling, most of the time seenzoned ako or busy daw siya. Yet, ang ironic kasi she always says to us na "if you ever have problems, feel free to reach out to me."
For one year, tiniis ko yan. I didn't mind it even to a point na yung mga tasks nila e ako pinapagawa. Kahit I've noticed na hindi equal distribution yung workload, e tumahimik na lang ako. But I've had enough.
The past few month has been really hectic. Nagresign yung isang kasama namin and the client doesn't want to hire a replacement. So yung workload e mas dumami and sobrang busy na. Ang unfair lang na if I get to compare my daily tasks dun sa kasama ko, I have too much na di ko alam paano pagkakasyahin in a day. To quote what the client says, "isn't your workload too much for one person?" Alas, akala ko ibibigay niya sa kasama ko yung ibang tasks pero wala. Hanggang commentary na may pa additional pang "please try to complete your tasks within the day. manage your time wisely." Naknamputa. Ako busy pero yung kasama ko sitting pretty. Lately, she started to micromanage us. Pinapasend niya kami ng daily accomplisments in a day para alam niya if we're being productive and if may room pa daw for us for additional tasks. Loaded na nga ako, and guess what, dinagdagan pa ako and yung kasama ko nada. At one point, the client reached out to my manager from the agency side and pinapatanong bakit may days ako that week na di umabot sa daily goal of 50 Closed Tickets a day. On those days, I only closed 49 and 48 tickets. Pero wala silang say na on the rest of the days, umaabot ako ng 100+ closed tickets a day. So ayun, pinapa explain ako kung bakit di ko na hit yung goal and what steps should I take to ensure I hit my daily goal moving forward. Pero ang unfair lang na wala silang say dun sa kasama kong tenured na on bihira lang maka hit ng 50 Closed Tickets a day. Yung tipping point talaga is how the client loves to make a big deal out of my responses. Ang defensive ko daw if nag aapologize ako, pag nagfi feedback daw siya madami akong salit, etc. I love feedback, but it should come in a nice tone. Hindi yung nagbigay ka ng feedback tapos ang mafi feel ng tao is demoralized. I opened this up to my agency manager, but as always, ako yung mali.
To cut the story short, I resigned and surely the best decision I made this year. Deserve ko to work with a client who values my hardwork and input sa team. Ang funny lang kasi since I still have access my Slack, nagpa bonus si client dun sa kasama ko ng $250 at pinost pa yung screenshot sa channel namin tatlo. Ang laman ng email is "Please give XXX a $250 on her next cutoff for she's been working hard for us the whole month." Para naman may ginagawa si ate talaga e ako nga lahat gumagawa ng workload sa team tsaka bago lang ako umalis sa team lol.
My next move after this is to upskill and focus on myself. Nakaipon ipon naman so I'll go back to the gym, eat well, sleeep sleeep sleeeeeeeep, and enjoy the things I love. Hopefully, I'll land to a job where I can excel, grow, and feel valued. Ekis na sa akin mga VA agency.

I am a female and I’ve been researching traditional tattoos lately. Today I talked to a colleague about this style and she reacted kind of shocked when I told her I was thinking about getting my legs covered in tattoos like that. She said, and I quote: “That’s definitely a style for men and men only! It would look so manly and take away from your femininity!” I’m gonna be honest, I’m 178cm and have a RBF. Hey y'all, I recently started 1Q84 as my 6th Murakami book and I'm loving it so far! Just finished chapter 9 (where the term 19Q4 is coined) so there's a whole lot left, but I recently read and loved Orwell's 1984 and couldn't help but notice the connections between the two books. Didn't see a lot of people talking about it so I figured it'd write down what I noticed here:

• Aomame noticing a shift in reality where everybody else knows about past events that, according to Aomame, never happened is practically the same as the whole concept of doublethink in 1984. In 1984 the Ministries constantly make up fake news articles which they present to be the truth, and all citizens are brainwashed enough to believe it. The comparison goes even further when you look at how O'Brien describes the concept of doublethink in the third part of the book, where he basically questions the concept of reality and how humans define something to be real. In his view, when something like a new fake historical event is made up it actually becomes the new reality. The concept of what's real and what's not becomes way more fluid. I feel like Aomame's supposed shift in realities is a nice conceptualization of this idea.
  
• Tengo is basically a parallel to Winston, the protagonist of 1984. Winston works for the Ministry of Truth to rewrite and falsify news items (or "create a new reality" if you look at my previous point). Tengo is also working on rewriting a book someone else wrote, falsifying it. Furthermore, I noticed that both Winston and Tengo have a traumatic memory relating to their mother which still influences them to some degree. I also think it's funny that Tengo is a math teacher and "2 + 2 = 5" is famous quote from 1984 regarding doublethink, something Winston actually believes to be true in the end.
  
• Fukaeri's limited speech could be related to Newspeak which is very limited compared to English. In 1984 it is the new language the Ministries are developing where all 'unnecessary' words are removed, heavily impacting freedom of speech and, as a result, freedom of thought. This further strengthens the similarities between Tengo and Winston, as Tengo is rewriting the book from 'Newspeak' to 'English' and is, by doing so, going against the ideology of the Party, just like how Winston is rebelling against the Party.
  
• There are other small lines referencing doublethink. Aomame's taxi driver explicitly says that she shouldn't be fooled and that there is only one reality. This also goes against the ideology of doublethink so you could relate the taxi driver to Goldstein, the rival of Big Brother. Also, when Tengo describes the memory of his mother at the start of chapter 2, he explicitly questions whether his memory of it is fabricated or not.
  

So for me it's clear that Murakami did his research when writing this book! Really curious to see where it goes next, I already saw the name Big Brother mentioned in the list of chapters so I can't wait to see what Murakami has in store for me, no spoilers please! (I'm reading it in Dutch btw, any fellow Dutch fans here?)

I was craving to read this book from the start, when I first picked up Agatha Christie, but I wanted to read Poirot books in order, so I finally got there.
I think, Im kinda overwhelmed rn, and that's probably why i cant say for sure if I liked the book or not. It felt impressive and not impressive at the same time!
Also, my sister was talking bout this book, cause apparently there was 2017 adaptation that got really popular, and Im probably gonna watch it!
And so, obviously I didnt guess the killer. More like I couldn't have possibly guessed all of them. Or even if I was had suspects that I thought were killers, I couldnt explain them at all.
Im gonna reread the book for sure. Im sure Im gonna notice the fake stories and clues more clearly when I do. I didnt even think about there being SO many killers, yes, I thought maybe, just maybe there might be several people, but not freaking all of them! I was sitting with my jaw on the floor when Poirot kept calling them by their past jobs or roles in America.
There was a funny thing of me thinking the suspects(when I wasnt even close to the truth), and I wrote down bout 5 suspects and thought "nah, too much suspects, I should think bout fewer people", boy, i was so far away!
So, my biggest suspects were M.Bouc and the doctor. Idk, I kept waiting for Poirot to talk bout their alibis, cause they were least suspicious, but it never happened. Bad guess yeah, but Im not a smart person. Others were like the swiss woman and Elena, but as I said before I was right, but I didnt figure out how they couldve done it.
Phew, the book was entertaining and enjoyable for sure. I think for this many characters, I definitely need to watch the adaptations to have better picture, its like describtions werent enough, i NEEDED to see their faces.
The ending was ok. Im not a fan of AC fast endings where its only the little descriptions of the aftermath or them ending with some kinda quote. Well, really satisfying though. Victim deserved it, so its just pretty satisfying imagining him being a ghost somewhere and figuring out the whole train killed him and the detective, that didnt agree helping him earlier decided to hide the truth, cause thats what scumbags deserve!
But I feel like there being so many participants had so many potential? Cant really think bout the them though, maybe like them accusing Poirot of the murder with bunch of clies?
Welp, im done. This is the last book I bought for now. And... im short on money. Gonna have to wait to read another!

I wanted to see if I could figure this out along with her I'm 33 minutes in, but I started back at the beginning of the puzzle to work my way through because I don't want to see the answer before I've tried to work my way through the problem. Here's my logic.
23:00 So knowing that it's a maze gives me some interesting parallels. The first thing that comes to mind are neurons, especially since We know she worked in neuroscience. With that new context it reconceptualizes the movement path of the library. it's a neuro-pathway.
Every action, every thought (I actually fell asleep, so this is where I'm picking back up. I'm not sure if the answer to why she's there is revealed by the end of the episode, but I haven't finished it yet.) is the result of neurons firing in a specific order. Much like how they have to find the clues in a specific order. Just like how to get out of a maze, you have to make decisions in a certain order. (David Ajala has me cracking up! also I just realized their necklace is an open book.)

I hope they bring her back!) made comment about how funny it was that a book was coming to her. I remember all the way back in E3, I made the connection that Adira was a stand in for "'they' told me that XYZ happens in the episode." "Book" states over and over the the library represents her mindscape. Well, if the library is her mind, what is it full of? Books! But book is also there working as her guide. Helping her navigate the maze and figure everything out. What she wants is children with Book. I'm assuming the lights shutting down represents the fact that she is missing the window of opportunity to have children with Book. A literal biological clock.

Junior Systems Engineer First Class Che’keero knelt before a semi-sparking control panel and sighed. She, and a large band of her fellow Engineers with Marine support, had boarded the pirate frigate with the singular goal of ensuring that the pirates didn’t scuttle their floating hulk and doom the slaves aboard to a, if they were lucky, a swift death in space.
The problem, of course, came with the pirate’s maintenance schedules and decisions to forgo certain… safety measures when it came to repair.
Like the panel before her. Usually a perfectly functional control system for the reverse-magnetic bulkhead doors that ensured void seals in power outages, some pirate at some point in their dumb, dumb life decided to fix the panel blowing a fuse… by ripping the fuse out and replacing it with a high density power cable. Which meant the entire thing was one massive shock hazard and actively sparking as the reactors deep in the ship flickered and surged due to damage.
Che’keero swore as an arc of electricity flashed towards her face after a tool that was not supposed to be magnetized, cheap dick WaDepth requisitions, caught a magnetic field, fusing the entire system shut and turning the formerly barely functional control system into nothing but pretty, decorative wiring and cheap solder. She punched the now utterly unfunctional control box and toggled on her radio. “Three-Two to Three-Lead, this door’s fried. You’ll need to bring in the cutters if we want to get to the rest of the ship. Might as well also bring in an inflatable airlock, I’m not liking how some of the metal strain sensors are flashing at me.”
A semi-synthetic voice replied back to Che’keero, “Three-Lead copies. I’ll be over there shortly with the stuff. Double check those sensors, I’m not getting the same readings, so let’s make sure something isn’t blocking errors from reaching me.”
“Copy that Three-Lead, Three-Two ou-” Something tapped against the back of her helmet and Junior Systems Engineer First Class Che’keero mentally swore.
“Now, now, lassie, how about you sit right there and don’t move.” A nasally, unfamiliar voice called out to her while tapping what a camera she set up to watch her back revealed to be a laser pistol to Che’keero’s helmet. “I think that you’re going to be our new best friend and way off this dead end ship.”
Che’keero paused, letting the situation settle in her mind, “Wait, what? Are… are you taking me hostage?”
“Yes!” The pirate replied.
“Why?”
“Why what?”
“Why are you taking me hostage? This won’t work, none of the shuttles are jump capable and if you try anything, you’ll just end up jumped by marines. They specifically train to deal with pirates taking their engineers hostage. If you want to survive, you should just surrender and take the penal colony when it’s offered.” Che’keero mentioned, shrugging and continuing her inspection of the door.
The pirate seemed baffled at the sheer nonchalance of this response, the pistol slowly falling to merely point at her upper back instead of her head, “You… you really aren’t taking this seriously. I’m a pirate! I’ve killed people! I’ve killed boys, and you’re just sitting there like this doesn’t mean anything!”
“I mean… I wouldn’t say that.” Che’keero replied.
“THEN WHAT DO YOU MEAN!” The pirate screamed, the pistol moving away from Che’keero’s body by a fraction of an inch during an angry gesture.
It was at that point, a ceramic alloyed, carbon steel blade punched clean through the back of the pirate’s suit, slicing through their central nervous system and striking with enough force to shatter the faceplate of said pirate’s helmet on the way out. Muscles twitching, the laser pistol fired off randomly, missing Che’keero and slagging a chunk of bulkhead.
“I’m just buying time,” Che’keero replied cheekily.
“You really need to remember to check your cameras,” The semi-synthetic voice of Ventures Forth Bravely Into Great Unknowns commented as the ex-pirate fell to the ground and blue blood dripped from the long blade sprouting from her right arm and a toolbox hanging from her left hand. “This isn’t the first time you have been flanked, and this one wasn’t during training.”
“Look, I’m sorry. It won’t happen again.” Che’keero replied a bit testily.
“I’m sorry…” Ventures Forth prodded.
“I’m sorry, Ma’am.”
“Much better. Right, now what do we see in this- yeah you were right on it being fried.” Ventures Forth gently shoved the Junior Systems Engineer aside and took her place at the control panel. “Do a sweep of the strain systems. I don’t want this section of the ship breaking apart. Feel free to call up our hull patches. We’ve got plenty to share and this might have to be a lifeboat.”
“Aye, ma’am aye,” Che’keero replied with a crisp salute before rushing off to her duty.
Deeper inside the ship, Ventures Forth could hear laser fire, clashing of metal on metal, and cries for help.
The pirate ship was doomed, it was shattered and broken, but it was not destroyed. Not yet. \
And if she had her way, Ventures Forth Bravely Into Great Unknowns would keep it that way.

Roshal stood still as her steward continued to clean the dark blue and rapidly congealing blood off her armored form. “Comms,” She called out, “Do we have any contact with the shuttle we sent to the station?”
“Negative, ma’am.” The comm officer replied. She wasn’t the same one that was present when Roshal left to fend off the boarders. At the unspoken question, the woman continued “Communication’s Mate Second Class Lev’tal, ma’am. My superior got a concussion when the pirate ship rocked our ship during boarding. Strap snapped, prior damage. I took over.”
Roshal nodded approvingly, “Good initiative. Send a message to the station, see if we can’t rai-”
“Ma’am! Contact!” One of her sensor techs called out, “Belay that, two contacts. First contact, nav point 782 spinward, possible bogey, cruiser weight. Unknown movements. Second contact, nav point 102 coreward, aerospace assets inbound. Small flight. Hard to determine numbers due to damage. No less than two, no more than five.”
“Focus on getting a hard contact on that possible cruiser. Weapons, what is the status of our anti-aerospace.” Roshal demanded, holding her sword arm out for the steward to scrub at a particularly clotted chunk of blood splattered over her wrist.
The weapons officer shook her head, “If we’re lucky, then we’ve got 20% coverage on half our sides. If we’re very lucky, I might be able to bump that number up to 35%. Not going to quote doctrine, but that’s not nearly enough to fend off a flight of Aerospace assets on a strike run, and that’s assuming they don’t hit us on an unprotected flank.”
Roshal nodded once more, “Sound general quarters and get weapons and tactical back online. Tell the damage control parties to not be distracted and focus on critical systems first. Engine room, report. Can you give me maneuvering thrust?”
The nearby ship phone chimed in with a staticy hiss, “Negative, ma’am. The shot we made with the spinal mount tripped breakers up and down the reactor room. This isn’t an engine problem, we need to make sure our reactor doesn’t blow up when we siphon power. Before you ask, emergency power is still flowing and none of their circuits tripped, but that means we’re down to life support, basic systems, and dockyard thrusters. It will take at least 20 to get the reactor in a safe state. If you want 10, send the chaplain down so we have someone praying for good luck. The fact most of our structural engineers are doing an EVA boarding to ensure the pirate ship next to us doesn’t go critical and render the entire exercise moot isn’t helping matters at all.” The engine room replied Roshal bit down a bit of annoyance at the snark, but engineers were always a finicky sort with authority. They were the first to remind uptight officers that while the Captain’s word may be iron law, it was their work that truly moved the ship.
“Confirmed, engine room.” Roshal instead replied. “Chaplains will be arriving shortly. Do what you can and inform me when you’re three minutes out from full power.”
The engine room didn’t even bother replying, just sending over the affirmative light as they got to work. Roshal approved of that. Sometimes, you just had to insult someone in order to get it working right.
“Captain, we have confirmation on contact. He’s an Alliance Karcharidon class Heavy Cruiser on intercept course. Energy readings are spiking… they’re charging their guns, ma’am!”
“Issue a hostile challenge and give me a firing solution with any gun still functional.”
“No response, ma’am. Hostile Karcharidon is increasing speed. Hard contact in 15 minutes.”
Roshal snarled, emotion breaking through her mask. “Of course, the pirates had one more vessel. Helm, fire our maneuvering thrusters, use the pirate hulk as cover. Weapons, get whoever’s left of our Interceptor flight to engage the enemy. Comms, get me in contact with the merchant fleet, tell them to evacuate. We’ll provide cover.”
“Aye ma’am.” The Communications Mate Second Class said with a shiver in her voice. “Sending-”
“Update on Aerospace assets!” Her sensor tech called out.
“Deliver!” Roshal demanded, cutting off the comms officer with a slice of her hand.
“Weapons fire. Definitely less than four contacts. Seems to be two grou- negative, only two contacts remaining- weaponsfire- one contac- IFF received, oh goddesses, IT’S RUNOFF THREE! FRIENDLY AEROSPACE INBOUND!”

Milk gripped her crash harness hard as Cookie slammed the Interceptor’s fusion torch clean past its safe thrust marker and into the red as g forces crushed her chest. “Last target down.” She reported after Cookie’s final laser burst hit something critical inside the final Aerospace fighter’s frame. “That’s 20 for 20. All enemy bogeys down. All standard munitions are in the black. Static drive is 48%, dump core ejected. All we’ve got left is our ASM and front laser.”
Cookie flashed back an affirmative signal.
“We going for that cruiser?”
Another affirmative.
“Well, I’m braced and ready on the release. Ready.”
“Ready.” Cookie spoke, his voice horse.
It’s funny what people think when their lives are on the line. Because charging towards a fresh enemy Heavy Cruiser, nothing but a single anti-shipping missile worth a damn, no allied support but the faint glimmer in IFF screens of their fellow flight doing the same… all Aoibhinn McDermott could think of was a poem she had read at least a decade ago or more at the Naval Academy.

Ventures Forth Bravely Into Great Unknowns could do nothing but furiously swear as the basic sensor system her engineering team had restored on the thoroughly ventilated secondary command bridge of the pirate hulk revealed an enemy Heavy Cruiser bearing down upon their homeship.
“Weapons are trashed. We cored their reactor, anyway.” One of the tangential engineers reported, “Other teams are calling in. Things are worse where they are. We’ve found the slaves, though, luckily it was one of the few airtight bays. Also, have some more captives, but that really doesn’t matter right now.”
“No shit.” Ventures Forth replied, “Can we do anything?”
The engineer looked back to her, visor depolarizing so the Gearschilde can look into the black and yellow eyes of her Shil coworker.
“Pray.” The woman replied simply.
Ventures Forth Bravely Into Great Unknowns did just that.

Low chanting filled the engine bay as a small group of priests stood around the engine praying to whichever god that would listen to allow them one more shot. One more fight.
Around them, black handed engineers scurried, ripping out blown fuses and replacing them with soldered in high strength wire. A final measure of desperation. Sparks flew as engineers swore and chaplains prayed, power still remaining in circuits needing to be bled out before bypasses could be installed, turning every bit of solder and every ripped out fuse into a deadly gamble.
Already, someone was lying on the ground, no longer twitching.
They didn’t have time to check on their fallen comrade, the work was too important.
A clock ticked down. Four minutes elapsed.

Lieutenant Commander Cenywyn swore as she watched Runoff 2 die.
Their single Interceptor had mistimed a maneuver and had been caught dead in the middle of an Anti-Aerospace array, shredded in an instant. The only consolation she could take was that, seeing as the first shot went clean through the cockpit, they didn’t even notice they died.
“Runoff 4, stay in formation.” She ordered over the radio, “We’ll lead you in for the run.”
“Yes ma’am.” The hesitant voice of Junior Flight Lieutenant Griogill replied. She swallowed, “We’re- we’re ready when you are.”
“No fear, Lieutenant,” Cenywyn called back to the child she was leading to her death. “We’re pilots in the Imperial Patrol. We do our duty. No fear.”
A clock ticked down. Six minutes elapsed.

“Talk to me!” The last remaining senior engineer in the reactor bay called out to anyone who was able to reply.
Someone, she didn’t even bother looking to see who, called back “We’ve bypassed 60% of the fuses. Should be able to give ourselves a burst of combat power. No more than 10 minutes of it before the entire system overheats and we either die, or the reactor shuts off.”
“Any chance we can get more than 10 minutes?”
“Not before that Heavy Cruiser delivers us straight to the stars.”
“Fuck it, good enough.” She slammed her fist on the ship phone’s dialing button resting near the console the engineer had just ripped the last safety override out of. “Captain. We’ve got your power. You give us the word, and we’ll give you ten minutes.”

Roshal breathed in, breathed out, and nodded. 10 minutes of combat power before the entire ship shut down into uselessness. She’d done more with less. She couldn’t remember when, but she had. Luckily, this was a Patrol Carrier instead of a standard ship, so it was more than capable of combat maneuvers with nothing but RCS thrusters. That should give her some time.
Movement, movement was going to be the key.
“Comms, tell the engineering crews on the hulk that they are ordered to figure out anything that could draw the attention of the Heavy Cruiser,” She began, “Systems, break our mooring lines. We’re going to have to split from the hulk. Helm, prepare for maneuvers. RCS only. We are going to have to do this carefully. Engineroom, prepare for power activation, but hold until my command.”
This needs to be perfect, Roshal thought, A single mistimed action ruins it all.
A clock ticked down. Ten minutes elapsed. The Karcharidon had entered maximum weapon’s range.

He of Slender Tail shivered where he stood. The secondary command bridge was silent as Roshal began giving orders to fight. This was… this was insane.
They were in a ruined ship with nothing but a merchant fleet beginning to flee and a three thirds dead pirate hulk on their side against a fresh Karcharidon class Heavy Cruiser.
They couldn’t win.
This was suicide.
They would die here.
\ So why didn’t He of Slender Tail feel afraid?
He stood at his post, a secondary bridge console where he would relay orders to other departments, freeing up the other Watchkeeper to collate those orders, there was nothing he could do to help win this impossible battle, and yet…
And yet he felt heat blossoming inside his chest with every single order delivered.
“Mooring teamsss, you are to cut your linesss immediately.” He relayed to a crew of Shil scurrying around the ruined bulkheads, “Damage control, prepare for electrical firesss and arcsss.” He commanded, switching between teams instantly.
He didn’t feel fear. He could see his Watchkeeper shiver every time the sensors reported the enemy contact was still closing, but he didn’t feel the same.
What he felt… was indignation.
How dare this pirate scum threaten his vessel, his crew. How dare they ambush this valiant ship after they had fought so hard to win. How dare they.
He let his fangs fold out as he spat the next order, “Anti-Aerossspace teamsss, prepare your batteriesss for grouped fire. Gunnery calculationsss are on their way.”
How dare they stand up to him.
A clock ticked down. 12 minutes elapsed. Weapons fire.

Roshal swayed slightly as she could feel the ship beneath her feet move. Movement is life in naval warfare, movement is death. “Right RCS fire, bring us clear of the hulk. Bow thrusters, up twenty.”
“Aye, ma’am, aye, right standard and bow up twenty.” The Helmswoman replied.
“Confirmed. Next maneuver, give us rear thrust-”
“Torpedo!” The sensor operator called out in a shrill voice, “Two marks on intercept course! Range, twelve K and closing fast!”
“Decorum!” Roshal snapped at the panicking sensor technician. “Comms, order Runoff flight to divert and intercept those torpedoes. Rear RCS to full, give us momentum.”
Roshal turned away from the bridge as affirmations were shouted, and the ship began to move, “Engineering, prepare to activate combat power on my mark and prepare for hard maneuvers. Mark in five.”

Griogill swallowed bile and tried not to feel too thankful that the enemy vessel had fired torpedoes at their home ship. Being diverted from an attack run had a much higher chance of survival than striking through an AA bubble.
“Runoff 4 engaging far torpedo. Moving in for intercept. Bre’kas, give me lock.”
Griogill’s backseater muttered something, and a target lock appeared on the far torpedo as Runoff 1, their previous Drill Sergeants, dashed by in a hard burn and blazed away at their own target.
“Right. We can do this. We can do this. No fear.” The rookie muttered as the sight of her friends in Runoff 3 being turned to vapor echoed in her mind. “I can do this.”
The target locked. She fired. The torpedo detonated.
A clock ticked down.

The Heavy Cruiser loomed closer as the comparatively tiny Patrol Carrier spat its defiance in the form of two Interceptors dancing between the stars.
As a pair of torpedoes detonated, four more were launched, the anti-shipping weapons built for this specific purpose. Destroying disabled vessels.
And so the last two remaining Interceptors on CAP dove into the fray, risking themselves against an ever approaching AA bubble in order to save their ship.
A clock ticked down.

All Cookie could do was stare and push his meager aerospace fighter further on its nuclear thrusters as shimmering dots of torpedoes lanced out from the Heavy Cruiser attacking his new home.
He pushed his hand forward and felt the throttle once more push back against him, the lever pushed all the way past safe thrust and into the further setting on his console.
The Interceptor was fast. It didn’t feel fast enough.
And so he spoke the words he spoke once before, back when he’d had to listen to his backseater’s screams of pain and the rush of wind after shrapnel pierced his fuselage, and the hospital was so, so far away.
Father, I pray that you will not hide your face from me. Whenever I pray, Lord please hear me and answer me speedily in Jesus' name. God, I pray that you will grant me speed through your help.
A clock ticked down.

The Heavy Cruiser shifted, engine flaring and it began to close the range. A single disabled ship on emergency RCS thrusters and a pair of Aerospace fighters was nothing it would have to deal with.
It fired a third spread of torpedoes.
A clock ticked down.

They took the bait. Roshal thought with a vicious grin.
“Mark in one.” She paused, “Execute.”
In an instant, power flowed through the ship, emergency lights flickered off as the burning red boarding lights returned their fiery glow. The entire ship shook as the main thruster came back online, and capacitors began to charge for maneuvers.
“Hard burn, full thrusters, right, on my mark.” Roshal watched as the Heavy Cruiser began to react to her movements, the enemy ship was alive, you needed to roll to broadsides to begin bombardment, come on come on…
Roshal watched as a torpedo flickered out of existence, Runoff 4 gaining another kill.
Come on, dammit, you don’t get put in charge of a Heavy Cruiser without- THERE!
The Heavy Cruiser flinched, turning her bow away from the no longer stricken vessel, preparing for broadside.
The Captain’s grin showed more teeth than smile. “Execute! Full right thrust!”
“Full right thrust! Aye ma’am aye!” Her helmswoman called out as maneuvering thrusters dead cold roared to life and physically threw the vessel to the side, causing everyone not strapped in on the bridge to rock as a barrage of fire flew past their former location, manual targeting systems in play since the automatic systems would still be getting warmed up.
“Full thrust forward, prepare to divert all power to secondary weapons. Weapons, give me a firing solution.” Roshal commanded, hand raised and pointed at the enemy’s display as if she were commanding from a tall ship.
A chant of “Aye ma’am aye” flowed out across the bridge as the weaponsmistress was silent before calling out. “Port side is up to 45% secondary fires and 32% point defense. That’ll be our best bet.”
Roshal nodded. “Make it so. Target their main weapons. Helm, get us that facing.”
“Ma’am. We’re getting a call from Runoff 3. They are entering the AO and are asking for a target.”
Roshal smiled, “Weapons, shift target. Aim for the anti-aerospace systems. Let’s give Runoff 3 the opening they need.”
A clock ticked down.

“Cookie, we’ve got a targeting path.” Milk called forward. “Putting it up on your HUD.”
“One second… I’ve got it. Moving to comply. Did the Captain give us a plan?” her front seater replied, causing her stomach to do funny things as the Aerospace Fighter maneuvered while under high thrust.
“Something like that. She asked for a munitions report and specifically about our anti-shipping weapon.”
Cookie paused.
“Ah.” He finally said.
“Yeah.” She replied.
“Well, let’s hope they’re able to open us up to a window of opportunity. Or this will be a short charge.”
“Not our place to question why.”
“Just our place to do and die.”
Time to target… three minutes.
Into the valley of Death, rode the six hundred.
A clock ticked down.

Two vessels, three Aerospace fighters, one chance.
Six minutes of power remained. All actors took their places on the stage.
One hundred kilometers, close enough to check the weld quality of hull seams, the two ships danced across from each other. Maneuvering.
Five minutes of power remained.
The Karcharidon Heavy Cruiser rolled itself trying to keep the vulnerable top deck away from the Patrol Carrier’s presumably still working main gun as Roshal’s vessel jumped to the side. Thrusters roared.
Four minutes of power remained.
Runoff 1 and 4 shot towards their formerly separated comrade, forming up behind them in a wedge. The trio climbed towards the sun as their captain continued to chase and harass the Karcharidon.
Three minutes of power remained.
Roshal spoke. The lances of her vessel fired. Laser blasts carved across the hull of the enemy ship as it rolled.
The rolling ceased. A helmswoman swore as a full broadside caught the Patrol Carrier in the flank. The port hangar pod was ruined, armor shattered and all inside exposed to hard vacuum. Those who could scream died the fastest. The Interceptors had their opening.
Two minutes of power remained.
Silent wings swept through vacuum as three Interceptors began their dive, their formerly speedy arrowhead shape giving way to an inverted t as their wings swept out for stability, the ASF dove and dove and dove.
Five Kilometers away.
The range was too wide. They had one shot. It had to be perfect.
One minute of power remained.
The Into Harm’s Way spat its defiance into the world, limited power drained to give her pilots a seconds more of time.
30 seconds of power remained.
Three Kilometers.
Hard Lock! Milk shouted from the back seat of Runoff 3. Cookie was silent. The range was still too wide.
15 seconds of power remained.
Two Kilometers.
The Karcharidon seemingly began to roll before the Patrol Carrier once more fired, its last remaining weapons spouting their defiance against the world. Deep in engineering, systems began to blow, wires that replaced fuses sparked power and delicate circuit boards shorted out into useless scrap.
The lights went out.
No power remained.
Roshal, in her head, began to count down as lances of light began to sweep across her ship. Damage control did what they could, but the beams began to cut like an overly enthusiastic shipbreaker.
Five.
One Kilometer.
Four.
Cookie’s thumb depressed the firing stud as the Interceptor screamed at him.
Three.
The ASF launched its deadly payload.
Two.
Three Interceptors pulled back hard on their sticks to avoid colliding with the deck.
One.
The thruster of the anti-shipping missile roared as it rocketed the point blank aerospace distance to target.
Impact.
The armor piercing tip of the missile punched into the upper deck plating of the Heavy Cruiser, classified alloys allowing it to pierce into the armored plating just enough to allow the shaped charge to open up a hole as momentum kept the weapon moving.
Within the frame of a single second, the warhead of the missile had entered the ship and, before the alarms even had time to sound, detonated.
A new sun appeared in the void for a split second as a plasma-fusion warhead detonated inside the Karcharidon heavy cruiser’s hull.

Roshal allowed herself to breathe a sigh of relief inside her head as the emergency power lights flickered overhead and the gravity ever so slightly lightened. What was left of their sensor arrays showed the enemy vessel powering down. “Engineering. Good work, your 10 minutes were just what she needed.” She called out, picking up the ship phone.
There was no answer from engineering.
She signed externally before pointing at one of the marines guarding the bridge, “Find a crewmate in a void suit. I have need of runners.” The marine clasped a fist to her chest before leaving to execute her captain’s commands. “Comms, do we have any contact with the engineering teams on the pirate hulk?”
The Comms officer held up a hand, Roshal waited, “No, ma’am. We aren’t getting- wait. We’ve got visual on flashing lights from the hull. Apparently, something shorted, so they’re having to rebuild broadcast arrays. They can receive just fine, though.”
“Good, once we can maneuver, bring us broadside of them. What’s the status of the merchant fleet?”
Navigation spoke up now, “Still heading for the Jump Point. Should we send the recall order?”
“Not yet, we are still unsure if the area is safe. If we have any sensors remaining, begin sca-”
The mentioned sensor technician interrupted Captain Roshal, “Ma’am, new contact, signature unknown. Just jumped in from outside the starlane!”
“Give me details. Course, range, and speed?” She demanded.
“Signal confused, can’t get a lock!” Navigation called out, “Can’t tell if confusion’s from them or us.”
Not another one… Roshal sighed, “All forces prepa-”
“Ma’am, we’re being hailed.” Communications called out.
“On squawk.”
“This is Captain Al’yosha Cal’rada of Her Imperial Majesty’s Ship Spear of the Knyaginya, responding to Merchant vessel distress calls. Imperial Patrol Carrier, are you in need of assistance at this time?”
Roshal recognized the voice. A junior officer from her days in the Navy and a fellow Sevastutavan. The memory of the fresh faced girl when she’d joined her as an Ensign straight of the Naval Academy flashed before her eyes. “Captain Cal’rada. Your timing is impeccable as always.”
“Admiral?” Roshal could hear the shock in her old protege’s voice.
“That’s Captain, now, Al’yosha. I require your aid in ensuring the disabled vessel still glowing from an ASM strike remains disabled along with Search and Rescue teams for our sister Carrier.
“Whatever you want, you’ll have it, Admiral_… Helm! All ahead flank and plot course to intercept. Launch gunships and prepare to deploy Bluejackets. We’ll test our _Orcas’ teeth today!”
The line cut out a moment later than it should have, and Roshal nodded in approval.
“Captain, I still don’t have a read on new contact. What is it?” Sensors asked.
“A Drep’na inspired vision, come to life.” Roshal watched, feeling an odd sort of parental pride as Al’yosha’s experimental warship began closing the distance towards the Karcharidon at breakneck speeds. “A swift sailing vessel and ten carriage guns…” Roshal murmured the line from an old Vaasconian poem from the ancient Age of Sail. She had heard Cal’rada had succeeded in petitioning the Navy to build her dream-ship, burning every favor and passing out favors to any and everyone to see the program through. Now, there she was, standing on the bridge bearing down on a ship twice her size, but if the rumors were true, only half her guns.
“Ma’am, contact is still not resolving, but IFF confirms Imperial Navy designation. An Akula Class Attack Transport. I’ve… I’ve never even heard of this class.”
“Perhaps we shall hear of them more in the future. Fortune favors the active.”
“Contact is disgorging multiple signals, moving at speeds consistent with aerospace assets.”
“That is our signal we may disengage. Comms, inform the merchant fleet that the area is secure and to begin refueling procedures. Helm, get us alongside the pirate hulk, we have people to recover. Marine, get me a runner to the MP’s, we shall need the port hangar prepared for an old tradition the Navy has regarding pirate prisoners…” Roshal commanded. The fight was over, it was time to begin the cleanup.

So… that took a while. Sorry about that.
Turns out when a combination of writer’s block, decision paralysis and LIFE hits you over the head, it becomes a touch difficult to get your shit together long enough to write something down.
On the plus side, we are out of the “unplanned bits” and right back into the parts I have brainstormed, so I won’t be staring at a screen trying to think how to make things connect as much anymore. On the other hand, that means we are now entering the epilogue of book 1 of Top Lasgun.
Don’t worry, the story isn’t ending, I’ve got “three” books plotted out in my head, so we’ll see how that shakes out, but for the most part, this is where I start wrapping up plot threads, laying down threads for what comes next, and all that other good stuff.
So yeah, next chapter is going to involve everyone wrapping up what happened here, some fun little Military Justice, and potentially a bunch of plot. Also, I’m planning on starting a “rewrite”/edited version of this to go up on AO3, so keep an eye out for that. Early installment weirdness is a bitch and I’m not proud of what the older stuff looked like.

My husband passed away at the age of 25. He battled cancer for over 1,5 years and I was by his side the whole time. I did my share of anticipatory grief the last month or so when he got so much worse.
Yesterday was the day of his funeral. I picked photos of him from holidays, with friends, with me, our dog, pictures that show he lived a full life, even though it was short. I carefully picked music that he loved, I didn't want anything too feely, rather music that felt nostalgic and connected to him.
So many friends came. I felt weird during the funeral, I kept looking at the photos... And my stomach hurt. I didn't really cry. It still doesn't feel very real sometimes.
After that, his mom, my parents and closest friends went for a lunch and drinks, I thanked everyone for coming and asked them to write funny quotes or stories into a notebook I brought. We talked about him and laughed and I told everyone how much he loved them. And most importantly I told friends from his side that I do not want to lose contact with them, and they are all very keen to keep me in their lives. They are my friends as well but I'm pretty shy so it was always him planning things. It was all very raw, I did not cry but I expressed my feelings in such a sincere way.
Despite everything, despite him leaving us too soon, he lived a great life. He found amazing friends, and I hope to keep them in my life, as a sort of a honor to his life. He brought us all together. There was also a friend he hadn't seen for a long time, they met last year after a long time, and I did my best to include her in the conversations, and she's such a nice girl.
Today I feel ok. I know heavy days are coming because I'm still at the beginning. But I'm hopeful. Overall I feel lost and really, really scared, but I trust there are good things waiting for me. I vowed to live a good life. He fought so hard, he had so many reasons to fight, and I know he'd want me to be happy.

In the original scene, if you haven't watched fight club, the main protagonist has put the pieces together to realise that he himself is actually the same person as the other protagonist in the film and it was him alone that accidentally setup a sort of movement against the financial elite. In this clip DFV plays off the two characters between DFV and Roaring Kitty.
Speculation: Roaring Kitty was the twitter handle and Youtube profile for Keith Gill where he would speculate on the stock because he just loved doing it. DFV was the reddit handle where he is associated to that other sub i can't mention here but you know where i mean. I think that DFV is saying that what started as a fun speculation of the stock became something bigger than himself with his other channel in DFV on reddit. Now the wheels have moved and in the film it ends with the financial institutions being blown up, perhaps something similar metaphorically is already in place right now. It's actually a great analogy from DFV about his situation.

So I’ve been running a campaign now for around 4ish months. The party is composed of two veteran players of around 5 years each, and 3 brand new players. As such, there are a lot of debates and moments where we have to slow the game down to explain what each player can do, which I’m all for. I’ve been itching to play DnD for a while, and I love helping people get into fantasy in general.
One of my players in particular, though, has been making a ruckus, for lack of a better term. He’s one of the newer players, so there’s been plenty of moments he wants to do something and I have to explain situations in which he can or can’t do something. Again, that’s no problem. The problem stems more from his innate chaotic nature, especially as it relates to other characters. I’m going to give a few situations that I found weird, and I want to know if I’m being an AH in this situation or if this really does sound crazy. I’ll refer to problem player as J for now.
The players are playing in a world in which humans are a primarily dominant race, and not many other races other than elves or dwarves have even been heard of. He’s playing a gnome, and so there’s been multiple NPCs who have talked to his character like he’s a child, or referred to him as such. Another party member (also a gnome) finds this funny, and has played into it a few times to get more info on things the party has done, such as acting like a child to get info from strangers or discounts for things in shops. All fine and dandy, the party plays into it. J, however, finds this incredibly irritating, and oftentimes starts arguments or physical altercations with NPCs who do this. One time, he started a fight to the death with a group of NPCs, and found that to be okay. Since the rest of the party barring one other person didn’t find it frustrating, I let it slide.
Another situation, one of the other party members finds a secret room in which he finds a pretty valuable gem (around 100gp in value). J hears this out of character, and when the party member finds his way back to the group, he starts interrogating him, and asks to make an insight check. I ask why J wants to do this, and he says “I don’t trust him”. I ask him what he’s done to betray his trust, and he says nothing, so I bring up the concept of metagaming. J’s primary out of character reason for interrogating the guy was because he knew about the gem, and he couldn’t separate that from his character. I say, no harm no foul, I’ll just tell people individually if they find things of value from here on, but he should be mindful of what his character knows. In character, J uses the spell “Locate Object” to find objects near him worth more than 50gp. I tell him that the character who reunited with the party has an item worth more than 50gp, and now he begins to interrogate him. This frustrates me, because there’s no reason that I could think of that doesn’t involve his out of game knowledge of the gem, and I’m still a bit frustrated about it because J holds this grudge over the other character 5 sessions later.
Another situation, J and the party are nearing the end of their first dungeon. As magic isn’t common in the world I’ve made, I wanted to include a decent amount of magical items for them to find near the end. The party works together and finds these magic items, which include 1 magical ring, 2 magical amulets, 2 magical cloaks, and 3 +1 magical weapons (I know it’s a lot, but this dungeon also took 3 sessions to complete). Upon my announcing of these items, J’s character grabs every single item, stuffs them into his Sack of Holding, and says “We’ll talk about trading later.” I ask him why he doesn’t want to give anything to any of the other players, and he just says that he got to them first. Keep in mind, his character is a bard, so while he could use them, I find that some of the items were tailored more towards the barbarian, rogue, and warlock of the party. He has yet to give any of these items up, and has “Raised the price” of the items due to some statements other characters have made about the incident.
This is all in game, of course, but there have been multiple statements and attempted actions that he wants to take where he has, and I quote, “Tried to make you miserable as a DM”. These includes but are not limited to:

• Stating that attempting to SA’ing a guy who wanted to arm wrestle a party member in a tavern was “totally okay”
• Trying to combo spells in such as way that he could drop a big enemy from 270-ish feet in the air so they take 270d6 falling damage (he found some method online)
• Multiclassing into Artificer (which I’m more than okay with!) for the sake of making a magical, repeating Aquaribus loaded with life-steal dragon shot (calculated to deal 1d8+3d6+1d4 damage by his own account, and he stated should only cost around 1000gp to make)
• A direct quote, “i want to go on a casual genocide run through a small town”
• Keeping half a zombie head around for his “long rests”
• Training a familiar to steal gold and other small valuable items from other party members
• Purposefully fighting and killing multiple NPCs because “that’s what my character would do”
• For lack of a better term, metagaming (he spent a few hours doing everything he could on his character sheet to milk every point of damage he could from every action)
• Has used damaging spells on other player characters when they disagree with him (particularly vicious mockery). He got a party member within 3 hp of going down, and laughed when told this)

I’ve chalked a lot of this up to him being a new player, and have had conversations with him about keeping the game entertaining for all of the party members, which is where I became super conflicted. Most of the party seems to find it fine, which is why I’m conflicted on if I’m right to feel frustrated. On one hand, if the party is okay with this course of action, I’m cool with it. On the other, this seems like it’s quickly becoming a murder- hobo party, which I’m not sure that I want to DM for. I’ve spent 2 years writing and creating this world, its inhabitants, its NPCs, and to see it approached in this way frustrates me. Which is another reason why I think I may just be overreacting, as I’m very attached to what I’ve created.
Is this something I’m overreacting to? Or is this a genuine problem, and what can I do to fix it? I’ve spoken to them a few times, but it only seems to work for a session. If I was to ask him to leave, then every other player would probably also leave, which makes me even more hesitant to do anything.

Long story short I work with children and I whole heartedly agree they are the most free abundant spirits in that form. So while I was on the playground a group of 5-6 year old girls came over to me and randomly asked me how old I am. Now I’m a sports coach so I don’t have to many interactions with these girls but from time to time we will stand in a little group and have conversations for a few minutes as I believe it’s important to entertain their crazy little zoomie moments hahahah and it is really funny most of the time, they come out with the most unhinged quotes and stories. But this time was creepy so after one of them asked how old I am, this new little girl who doesn’t really join in with these group convos blurts out in a straight face monotone manner, “you’re going to die when you are 24”. Now when I tell you me and the other little girls looked at her like emmmm wth was that haha. BUT I realised I just turned 24 last month. It’s almost as she was taken over by something and the message was delivered. Oh also to add I have never told them my age EVER.

TALK OF ED AND SH DO NOT READ IF SENSITIVE!!!! recently me and my best friend we will call her Cindy had an argument, of course it was over something dumb and she just said how she doesn't want to talk about it anymore. some background I struggle mentally with the idea of how everyone is better than me at everything and Cindy is the kind of person who always has to win an argument. anyways she ends the argument after I make a good point and I'm still upset over this. so I go onto a secret twt account that she went out of her way to find by key word searching a sc of something funny from my twt account. this isn't the first time me has found one of my secret accounts. Cindy just has this thing of constantly being curious and finding ALL of my secret accounts no matter how hard I try to hide them. so anyways I vented about how I was upset that she was doing her usual if I lose the argument I just don't continue it therefore I'm not wrong kind of thing. of course without my knowledge she sometimes checks my secret twt account without my knowledge and she gets upset of my rant. just the other day I was feeling quite depressed and a lot of self hatred and felt jealous of her so I made a rant on how I was jealous of her love life and how throughout our entire 8 year long friendship everyone prefered talking to her than me examples include how when I made something and we showed it to someone and we told that person I made it they would still assume Cindy made it, or for gym class I would always end up getting picked last out of the two of us, or how the popular girls were nice to her and not me and same with the employers at our job. in the tweet I made I commented wondering why people prefered her over me despite us being very similar bc that's why we are such good friends I personally find us similar in interests and all that kind of stuff. I was jealous of her numerous relationships and how my failed one relationship was a long distance rebound. she saw this as well and took me comparing us to each other as me using her life as "pity points" which was absolutely not my intention. on this secret account I do just so happen to be apart of sh and ed twt and I made a quote twt saying how maybe people will like me more if I was thinner. me and her are around the same weight though she is taller and weighs less than me we are pretty close. she took this comment as a dig at her weight even though in my head it never was ment like that. last night she confronted me on the comments I've made and how upset she was that I would say such stuff and yes it's true I absolutely should've vented my frustrations to someone close to me or maybe just journaled it and not posted about it on twt but it was heat of the moment and I forgot I even posted it the next day. but there have been times where she has vented about me to a person we both mutually hated and we both know how that person also dislikes me which is something I never told her I was upset about, I kinda feel like the only reason we have been friends for so long is simply because I have always just been the person to not confront her about the things she does that upsets me just out of fear of her cutting off our friendship. Idk what tag/flair fits the best, I'll fix that later, but I figured I'd let people know of some random points that will happen in the rewrite, but I'll only add the season they'll happen in, and it's based off of when they happen in canon - I won't be following canon to the letter, because then it wouldn't be a rewrite, lol. I'd like feedback for each of the plot points:
• Daphne won't be revived. She'll stay dead (s1, s5)
• Bloom and Roxy will know each other already (s4)
• Bloom will develop stronger Dragon Instincts and then a Dragon Side (s1-s3, Dragon Instincts, Dragon Side, in that order)
• Bloom and Flora will swap places during the test or whatever it's called where half of the Winx had to find the weak spot of the Dragon, because logically, fire and water don't mix, it turns to steam (s5, and yes, I'm basing this particular one on logic).
• Loads of Pokémon references will be made by Bloom for the sole reason of Confusion.
• Faragonda will be called out on withholding information really early by a former teacher (s1).
• Griselda will be stricter (s1-s3, s5-s7, s8 is uncertain).
• Bloom & Stella's friendship won't be on BFF level because Bloom already has a BFF, one she's had since childhood.
• Selina won't betray Eldora, but she will still disappear. (s?).
• Roxy, Selina, and Eldora will be introduced very early on (s1).
• Kiko being able to go through the barrier will be explained (s1).
• Many Earth references, phrases, quotes, etc. will be made by Bloom and it'll be like she used Confusion on anyone within earshot.
• In "The Black-Mud Swamp," Bloom will become very *protective*** of her group, and this very *pissed*** at the Troll. (s1 ep4).
Hope you liked the plot points I have for the rewrite, and I'd really appreciate any feedback you have, or if I should change some of it, just keep in mind that Daphne's storyline will remain the one in Season 1, it won't be changed for season 5, because if Aisha can't have Nabu and Musa can't have her mother, why should Bloom be allowed to have her older sister?
PS. Bloom also has a full family consisting of nothing but adoptions on Earth, and I find that really funny, and it also shows that adoptive families irl doesn't have to be just parent(s) and child(ren), but it can also be siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins and nieces, which is what Bloom's entire Earth family will consist of...
I'll have to make a custom Family Tree for the rewrite, now that I think about it. I'll include Bloom's birth parents and Daphne, but that's literally the only Sparksian people I will include, but I'll make sure to state their status as "Missing" for the parents and "death by sacrifice" for Daphne.
Once again, I'd appreciate if you could give feedback on the plot points I've listed, just keep in mind the one about Daphne is non-negotiable.

Hi, I’m here to obviously vent. I’d like to call out people who peeve me out on YouTube. So I’m gonna list it out. If you disagree, that is fine. Just going to list things that make me MAD. Get my itches itchy. Make my boots timber. Not directed to anybody except people who do this, if you do this, please take time to realize…Anyway. Obviously don’t go harassing people who do this. This is just my pet peeve.

1 - People who comment first who aren’t actually first and second commenters. Nobody cares that you’re first or second like? Please leave. Why do you feel the need to address the fact that you’re first? Do you want love? Likes? It’s not working, for me at least.

2 - People who thank people…on YouTube for their likes. If this is you, please don’t do this. People who say, ‘MAMA IM FAMOUS’, ‘Thx for the likes!!’, or ‘Never got this many likes before.’ Please stop. I don’t care whether you got that amount before or not! Don’t thank me, thank your humor or people liking what you said. These people genuinely annoy me, if this is you… I’ve already unlike your comment.

3 - People who don’t quote a video correctly. You just watched the video. The person in the video literally said “I like baking eggs and ham” then you’re going to comment with a quote talking about “They really said ‘I like eggs, bacon, and sausage.’ 🤣” Where did you hear that? They did not say that! Are you delusional? Maybe.

4 - People who feel the need to be inspirational. Sir, this is a video for people to vent. We don’t need you, Sherlock, to tell me “it’ll all get better.” IVE BEEN LIKE THIS FOR YEARS. NOT YET IN THERAPY. Plus, people know it’ll get better and if they don’t, oh well, who are you? Can I just have a bad day? Get out, dude.

5 - People who self-censor themselves. They will not always delete your comment. “I don’t give a shitacobeanthethirdonlyfansinthecourtoksoboom about this video.” Please stop. Especially if they do ‘sh#t’. LEAVE.

6 - People who are obviously bots or trying to promote their channel. People who say “I am better than this YouTuber.” Like if you were, I would be watching you, wouldn’t I? Your channel sucks. I’ve watched a lot of your videos and the fact you’re commenting on someone else’s channel to promote yours…how low can you go?

7 - “Don’t read my channel name.” I’ve read it, now what? I read the banner, I’ve read the video, I’ve clicked the link, now I’m in clarity. You’re still not getting a sub, you wreck.

8 - People who obviously copied the comment from somewhere else, using the same joke that everybody in the comment section is using or trying to act original. Those people make me mad. We’ve seen the same people use this same joke. You are not like them. We know it’s stolen, stop trying to be funny with that lame copied joke. Be creative.

9 - People who use ‘Bro’ in their comment, expecting it to be funny because it word for their little brother. No, bro did not think he was flying. It was joke. OR people who correct others grammar.

Lastly…

10 - The WHOOOSH community of YouTube. People who get offended, correct grammar. Like get a load of Mr. Fucking grammar police! Promise to say You’re next time! When you learn to have a laugh, you will be happy.

I’m so glad this sub exists because I’ve been annoying everyone in my life with my theories about these two … I figured this would be the right place to post my speculation/lyric breakdowns of songs that they may have written about each other, split into different posts for albums for ease of reading.
Starting with Reputation (2017) – I imagine the failed relationship with Matty was still fresh for Taylor during the writing/recording of this album. Her reference to her “longings locked in lowercase inside a vault” definitely made me look back at Rep in a way I hadn’t before (and I do think we’ll see some Matty-coded vault tracks on TV”. That said I don’t want to erase her other relationships, especially with Joe, so I’ll make notes of where I think I’m either stretching for a Matty connection or I think there are multiple muses.
Special mention to “Getaway Car” which feels like another (fictionalized?) response to Robbers but the story she tells is very similar to her fling with Tom, especially given the third man in the song. I usually claim it for the maylors anyway bc who cares about Tom. Let me know what you think.
“...Ready For It?”
Knew he was a killer first time that I saw him / Wonder how many girls he had loved and left haunted / But if he's a ghost, then I can be a phantom
I can't ignore the connections here to two other songs thought to be written about M - Ghost (2014) and Haunted (2015) by Halsey (I won't bother going into the HalseyMatty lore here but I could in another post...)
"You're a Rolling Stone boy, never-sleep-alone boy / Got a million numbers and they're filling up your phone, boy" (Ghost) "I'm begging you to keep on haunting me" (Haunted) "My ghost / Where'd you go? / I can't find you in the body sleeping next to me" (Ghost)
I can be a phantom holdin' him for ransom / Knew I was a robber first time that he saw me / Stealing hearts and running off and never saying sorry / But if I'm a thief, then he can join the heist / And he can be my jailer
Robbers is one of The 1975’s most famous songs. In the music video two lovers stick up a convenience store - definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it. In 2014 M dedicated the song to T in Dallas in November 2017 (a week after she attended the concert in LA) here and here
Burton to this Taylor
One of my favorite references that I think reveals a lot about the messy but irresistible relationship M and T seem to have. Here's a link to a great article about the wild love affair between Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.
Every love I've known in comparison is a failure / I forget their names now, I'm so very tame now / Never be the same now
This sentiment is repeated throughout many of the songs I believe are about M. The idea of a life altering love is obviously prevalent across TTPD but also in folklore, evermore, and Midnights. ex. "I'm never gonna love again" (cowboy like me), "I don't remember who I was before you painted all my nights a color I have searched for since" (Question...?), "I felt aglow like this / Never before and never since" (loml)
Also want to mention This Must Be My Dream from 2016, which M has said is about an older gf but may fit: "Let me tell you 'bout this girl / I thought she'd rearrange my world"
No one has to know / In the middle of the night, in my dreams / You should see the things we do, baby
See Guilty as Sin? lol
Baby, let the games begin
Taylor in an interview with Glamour in February 2014:
TS: [Nods. Pauses.] I think everyone should approach relationships from the perspective of playing it straight and giving someone the benefit of the doubt. Until he establishes that this is a game. And if it's a game, you need to win. The best thing to do is just walk away from the table.

conclusion: I believe ...Ready For It? is a response to Robbers and reveals M and T's similar romanticism (sometimes toxic but so addicting). The mirrored stylization of ...Ready For It? and Question...? makes me think the latter is a continuation of the former. The mentions of “island breeze” and “we’ll move to an island” have made people believe this song is about Tom Hiddleston but other lyrics, namely “younger than my exes” pretty clearly contradicts that.
"End Game"
I wanna be your end game / I wanna be your first string /I wanna be your A-Team
Funny reading this after The Alchemy and So High School.
Big reputation, big reputation / Ooh, you and me, we got big reputations / And you heard about me / Ooh, you and me would be a big conversation
And they were! Especially because T hadn't been really linked to anyone after Harry, the speculation about her and M came hard and fast. M especially was inundated with questions in the months after the LA and NYC shows.
And I heard about you / You like the bad ones, too
Another possible reference to a Halsey song, this time Hurricane from 2014: "He says, "Oh, baby, beggin' you to save me / Well, lately I like 'em crazy/ Oh, maybe, you could devastate me"
I don't wanna touch you, I don't wanna be / Just another ex-love you don't wanna see / I don't wanna miss you / Like the other girls do
Very reminiscent of The 1975's song Somebody Else, released in 2016, speculated to be about T: "I don't want your body / But I hate to think about you with somebody else"
I hit you like bang, we tried to forget it, but we just couldn't
"Flashbacks waking me up / I get drunk, but it's not enough" (Death By A Thousand Cuts)
And I bury hatchets, but I keep maps of where I put 'em
"I circled you on a map / I haven't come around in so long" (The Alchemy)
Reputation precedes me, they told you I'm crazy
"And they tried to warn you about me" (The Albatross)

It's like your eyes are liquor, it's like your body is gold
So many of the songs speculated to be about M reference his eyes but the most relevant (not the starry eyed motif which we'll get to in the future) are: "Eyes like sinking ships on waters / So inviting I almost jump in" (gold rush) and "But your eyes are flying saucers from another planet / Now I'm all for you like Janet" (Snow On The Beach)
"Deep blue, but you painted me golden" (Dancing With Our Hands Tied)
You've been calling my bluff on all my usual tricks / So here's the truth from my red lips
From the same Glamour article, Taylor talking about her 'trick' when dating:
CL: What's the freeze-out?
TS: You don't respond to any of his texts or calls until he does something desperate [like] shows up. Or he calls and leaves a voice mail. Something that makes it very clear to you that he's interested.
disclaimer: I am someone who thinks the Tom relationship was not that serious for T, so this song imo fits what she may have told us about her relationship with M more, though the beach reference does point to Tom in a way.

Something happened for the first time / In the darkest little paradise
May refer to the dark concert venue where they met for the first time (see So It Goes... for more)

Sentiment that is repeated throughout TTPD, but most clearly in But Daddy I Love Him
My name is whatever you decide / And I'm just gonna call you mine
Though this could be a stretch, in the spotify storyline for The 1975's Oh Caroline (2022), speculated to be about T, M said "It's an invented character, where the cadence really mattered. It couldn't be "Oh Linda" or "Oh Jane" [or "Oh Taylor"] - you had to have a 3 syllable that really works. I knew what the song was about, I had felt that about someone before and I got to write an episodic, mini movie about the subject"
disclaimer: If about M, this song is very on the nose with the drug references. Generally it's a very vague song and could easily be about Joe or another ex.
"So It Goes..."

Likely refers to the first time T saw M in person, when she was front row at The 1975's LA show. All eyes were on M then (including T's)

Tripping, tripping when you're gone
May relate to Don't Blame Me: "Trip of my life / every time you're touching me"

Maybe a stretch but M famously had a breakdown on stage in Boston on December 6, 2014. In an interview with the Guardian he said: “There was girl stuff. There was family stuff. There was financial stuff. There was drug stuff. I remember hearing the crowd and having an identity crisis. I thought: ‘If you want to see a show, I’ll give you a fucking show. If you’ve come to see the jester drink himself into a slumber, I’ll give it to you.’ I felt like I’d become an idea as opposed to being a person.”

The reason why I don't necessarily think Joe fits. They met at the Met Gala in 2017 and she very quickly started seeing Tom, obviously it could still be him but I wanted to note this.

Totally speculation but M and T hiding out in her NYC home makes a lot of sense from other pieces she has shared about the relationship “My kingdom come undone” (Hoax)
