2024.05.16 21:45 GTRacer1972 How long do dried peppers really last?

About 4 or 5 years ago I bought a bunch of Reapers and Bhutlahs, dried them, and crushed them. I still have them in a jar in the pantry. I turn them every so often so they don't get clumpy or hard and they still look fine. I have cooked with them recently, and they seem to taste fine, but online it says they only last 4 years.
Here is a picture of them. There's like 2 pound's worth. The only reason I have so much is I overdid it ordering the peppers (I still have seeds that may or may not grow if I plant them), and they are hot AF so I only use a very small amount when I cook spicy food.

2024.05.16 21:45 Long-Emotion2544 Feeling extremely anxious and incompetent and wanting to quit over this Ascension hack

I’m a new grad nurse at an Ascension facility on a tele/medsurg floor approaching the 3 month mark and I’ve been feeling extremely down over this cyberattack. Old nurses are gonna shoot me down for saying this but the paper charting system is absolutely atrocious and in no way was my unit prepared for any of this chaos that’s going on right now. Orders not being received, lab results not being faxed back on time, pharmacy not being prompt with meds, certain pt cares not being done/not documented, papers flying left and right. EVERY department is backed up.
I’m supposed to be on my own now that my orientation is supposed to be over but I fear for my license as well as feel unsupported and anxious ass a new grad being thrown into this bullshit and will be telling my manager this tonight before my shift. (I already committed a med error because of paper MARS). There’s no ETA to when this will be fixed and in all honesty, I’m really not trying to stick around and find out when it will be fixed because I was already hating the job to begin with but tolerating it to at least gain the medsurg/tele experience that every new grad needs to build that foundation. Now it’s literally intolerable and I dread every shift to the bone and I’m not even on my own yet.
What should I do? Most places probably wouldn’t take a new nurse with only 3 months of bedside exp. I’m at a complete loss right now.

2024.05.16 21:43 djm9 Courses or manuals?

Hey everybody!
I'm just after finishing my fourth year exams this week so its now time to turn my attention to these dreaded FE1s. I'm planning on sitting 4 and 4 in order to start a 2025 Training Contract (seemed like such a good idea at the time!). I was wondering what people's thoughts were on using prep courses such as City Colleges vs just buying manuals online and combining them with your own notes and reading.
I'm sure much discussion will be purely anecdotal but any guidance would be hugely appreciated!
For context: QCA is in the 3.6. area (last exams and FYP pending) - so bright but not a super-genius by any stretch.
What do you reckon? Manuals with notes/reading; or are the courses worth their while?

My mind's brimming with ideas for custom minifigs, but I'm drowning in options. Is there a platform that lets you design online, order printed parts, or choose from a massive selection of pre-made pieces? Maybe even a service to minifigure-ize someone? Cool accessories and wacky poses are a must!

2024.05.16 21:41 Automatic-Barber8770 Question about payments - Visiting China for 1 month

Hey guys,
Very happy and excited for my trip to China of 1 month this summer planning to visit the following cities: Just to name a few, Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Xi’An, Chongqing and more!
I want to make my trip as simple as possible and I heard that most places do not take cash, that it’s mostly done via Wechat or Alipay.
I would love to use those apps to pay for stuff but the problem is I don’t have a Chinese phone number and I can’t have anyone (such as family or friend) lend me one. This leads to two questions:
1) Is there any reliable phone carriers in China I could get at an affordable price for one month? (That includes Internet too obviously)
If so, can I order the SIM card to Canada or I can only get one on the spot once I’m in China?
2) If I get access to an app allowing me to pay with my phone, can I link it to my Canadian credit card? Is there any additional fees? Or is it better to link debit card?
Thank you so much !!

I really love this Nico dress from trandlands but I can’t justify over $200 for the dress and shipping… does anyone know where I can get something similar? I’m a US 18-20, I’d be okay with spending around $100-$150 and I don’t mind ordering online.

BBQ season is here. I equipped myself with the greatest and latest cheap simple BBQ from amazon and I am ready to integrate another type of dinner, but for this, meat (or chicken or whatever) is necessary, Since I never ordered such a thing online I have no idea where would be a good place to start, so would love some recommendations. I live in Noord holland for that matter and all butchers around are kinda expensive.
Any good recommendations?

2024.05.16 21:35 BenchNo6695 Canadian RN wanting to apply for a Master's - Advice Needed!

I'm wondering if any Canadian nurses have experience with applying to a Master's of Nursing program with a GPA that falls below the admission requirements? I graduated over ten years ago, and have been a practicing nurse with acute and outpost experience. I recently contacted my university to inquire about repeating some of my undergrad in order to bolster my GPA, but it appears I would have to repeat my undergrad entirely as they don't allow individual courses to be taken. Looking at the admission requirements for several schools, it appears they will not accept courses completed after my BScN program, so taking additional courses to improve my GPA would not be beneficial. My question is, have any of you been accepted into a MSN program under similar conditions? Or know of a program that factors in work experience when considering your application. Any advice would be appreciated : )

2024.05.16 21:33 FunctionAlone9580 Merchant offers review of US Bank, Amex, and Bank of America -- what's your experience?

I have access to Amex, US Bank, and Bank of America. Here are my thoughts:
  1. Amex offers some decent offers but most are useless. For example, I got a 10% off insurance offer (capped at $20), along with 15% Internet/cable offer (can be used twice). However, the vast majority of the offers aren't for everyday spending, more like get $100 off $500 for this luxury swimsuit brand or $50 off $1000 spend for a pair of sunglasses. I'm personally a buy what I need kind of person, so most of these don't appeal to me.
  2. Bankamerideals give nice options but are kind of a pain in the ass imo and are pretty much equivalent to a shittier version of Rakuten. I see some stuff like 2% off Home Depot, 5% off Adidas, $1 off shampoo at a grocery store. However, almost all of these require a link to use the offers, where I have activate them, then upload a receipt, or shop online in order to get the 2% off. For the most part I prefer to shop in person for the stores listed, so I'm not a big fan.
  3. US Bank. US Bank has these "cash back offers" that usually mimic coupons, like getting 5% off at Lowe's or Five Guys or something, and they're fine. I see the same brands listed every time offers expire. HOWEVER, as a Plus tier member of US Bank (>$50k stored with them), I also get access to something called Smart Rewards. Maybe everyone with a credit card can access these, but I've been getting about 4 smart rewards offers at a time ever since I hit Plus tier, and got about 2 on average with the Primary tier ($>20k). Right now I'm getting 15% dining, 15% gas, 15% home improvement, and 10% groceries... which stacks on top of my normal earnings, giving me 19% dining, 12% groceries, and 17% gas with the Altitude Go. The cash back usually posts 2 weeks after I spend on a category and has worked flawlessly so far, I just have to activate them beforehand.
I've been loving US Bank the past few months, I effectively have had a 19% dining credit card for 3 months now. I got nearly $80 in one month on gas, dining, and groceries in January without even counting the credit card rewards (and I'm not a big spender, probably only about $1000 a month in non-rent expenses).
They also recently just deposited $20 in reward credit into a US Bank Cash Plus card I haven't used in a couple months for no reason. I got a personalised offer in my email to get $20 for $80 spend on that card but I never even spent $80 subsequently, so I think they have a bug in their system.
I'm not sure if other people use these offers because I don't ever hear about them. But it's goddamn badass, I love US Bank. While I recently created a Fidelity brokerage and Merrill Edge account, I don't think I'll stop using US Bank as a secondary investment platform. These merchant offers are just too good.
What are Citibank or Chase offers like, what's the best ones you've gotten? Does anyone like Bankamerideals? I've only had my Amex account for a month or so, so what other kinds of general offers does Amex give out outside of insurance and Internet?
I'm also curious about people who use Citibank Shop Your Way. I hear good things about it, but when I hear of their offers the spending requirement seems to be too high for me, like $200 back for $3000 spent in a month. Do you guys ever get offers for less spend, like $500 in a month?

2024.05.16 21:30 Feeling_Meringue1022 Tired of being treated like dirt from customers....

After Covid idk what happened to people. It's like they got some kind of entitlement. People don't know how to take responsibility for their own mistakes anymore. They mess up an order online, and we are the bad guys. They don't like something so they scream and yell at us. Call in 20 times, and call the police over a pizza. Like, the cops have more important things to do than worry about people's orders. Like come on people. If customers know how to do our jobs so well, then they can come and do it themselves. Since we are apparently so incompetent.

I'm using Odoo Online on Enterprise (with Studio) plan and I need to display a field inside the order on the Purchase app (the red area on the print: Imgur: The magic of the Internet) that shows the total weight of the all the products. 2024.05.16 21:26 qaywsxqaywsxqay (Swiss army) Did some of you here who did military service switch to Civil Service (Zivildienst/Service civil) after Recruit School (Rekrutenschule/Ecole de Recrue) ?

I did Recruit School (Rekrutenschule/Ecole de recrue) and even two repeat courses (Wiederholhungskurs/Cours de répétition) for now. I failed my first university studies and am now in the second bachelor year of my second university studies (Pharmacy).
What annoys me is that when you have a whole semester full of courses, labs and exams, missing three weeks for the army is a bit stressful. I did 1 WK/CR in the summer vacations last year after passing the first year, but it was stressful as at my uni, the catch up exams (Wiederholungsprufungen/Examens de rattrapage) are at the end of the summer vacation. While I passed them, it was still stressful. For next year, I could fortunately report the WK/CR until 2026 so I don't have to worry about it for now. But you can only report two consequent WK/CR for more than a year (so the third WK/CR you can still report it, but only in the same year).
I was wondering if for university students like me, it would make sense to switch to Civil Service (Zivildienst/Service civil) even tough I heard switching to Civil Service multiplies your remaining service days by 1.5 (so for example if you still had to serve 100 days in the Swiss Army, you would have to do 150 Civil Service days instead).
Because in the Swiss Army, you wake up at 5:30 in the morning and are busy until 23:00. Even if sometimes you have nothing to do, you are still waiting for order, and you can't really study for your exam on a laptop in the middle of a forest, or in the mountains at -2 °C while it's snowing. And you're away from home the whole week. And even if it is uncommon, in my last two WK/CR the first week-end we couldn't go home either (first WK/CR due to Covid, second WK/CR due to a special event) so it was two weeks away from home.
While for Civil Service, as far as I know it's office hours from 8:00 to 17:00 and you go home everyday, so you can more easily study for exams. Also, for Civil Service, you can do something professionally that may help your career later. I still don't really have work experience, but it looks to me that in Civil Service you are more likely to gain it than during Military Service, except of course if you are really unlucky and end up in an old people care home or something similar (but even then it's probably not that bad I guess)
What do you think ?

2024.05.16 21:23 cocobeanso Absolutely Avoid Axos Bank

I started a small business recently and needed a good, online bank. I know that a local bank is often a great option, but for a variety of reasons I probably need to go with an online bank. I thought I'd give Axos a try, despite a lot of recent, negative reviews.
Huge mistake.
After getting my business checking account set up, I wanted to order my debit card and checks. It somehow took two weeks for them to get them sent. And when they arrived, they forgot the checks, and the debit card had the wrong name on it. This is despite that I sent an email and electronic message with the correct name, just to make sure.
I called to ask them to resend both, and to make sure it had the correct name on it. I thought it'd be a simple request, since they made the mistake. Instead, they responded by closing my account, without giving a reason.
When I look back at my original messages, they were clear and professional, and it seems that Axos simply made a mistake and just decided they did not want to deal with this.
Coming from someone who went through lots of reviews and still gave Axos a good try, I can honestly say that it's absolutely not worth giving them a chance.

2024.05.16 21:23 -TrundleTheGreat I want to start but I’m worried

I’ve been kicking around the thought of getting in buying btc finally and there are multiple things that worry me. In no particular order:
  1. What are the fees like? If I were to buy in at $64,000 what kind of fees am I expected to incur? On top of that what fees are there for selling? Are there also fees for withdrawing and depositing?
  2. Speaking of withdrawing. I’ve looked into the cold wallets on Amazon and see poor reviews on say the Trezor wallet. Ppl saying they brick and they’ve lost their btc that was stored there. Not to mention others talking about the need to verify the wallet integrity to be sure it’s safe.
  3. Is there a safe way to store it without having to do the whole cold wallet thing? I’ve read ppl saying you can get hacked storing it online. I’ve considering buying into the etf but the management fees seems steep and everyone says it’s not your btc if you buy into it.
I’ve followed bitcoin loosely for a few years and never really considered buying into it. Now that I’m considering it, it just seems like it’s not a very straightforward process in safely obtaining it/maintaining it. I’m 30 with a good retirement plan set in place and just wanted to diversify some more.

2024.05.16 21:21 robbeing Online retailer refusing refund on faulty goods, saying it was my responsibility to inspect within item within 72 hours of delivery

An online retailer sent me faulty goods, with a component missing from a boxed product.
I returned the item to them, complete with their printed returns form, stating the issue with the item (missing component).
They are now saying that because I didn't report the issue to them with 72 hours of receipt, they cannot issue the refund as the product I have returned is missing said component.
Their terms and conditions state "problems with your order must be reported within 72 hours". However this doesn't feel like a reasonable timeframe for me to have inspected the item. I didn't open the product immediately as it was supposed to a brand new, unopened item.
Are they within their right to refuse my return? They are now saying they will hold it for 10 days and I have to go to their warehouse to collect it.
Thank you
