2024.05.29 06:16 SwagginMcdoodles Is the pvp still active and how is it for the new player experience coming into pvp?
I've been looking for a pvp multiplayer game that resembles either Uncharted 2 or other very niche third person games like World War Z. Gears was always in the back of my mind, but I know it's not quite like Uncharted pvp. If anybody else has other suggestions let me know!

2024.05.29 05:42 CartoonistCapital914 Reasons that ruined pvp in Invasions
1 - The Host is never invaded alone, only after a summons enters.
2 - When a blue helper dies, others reappear very quickly, becoming an endless cycle of gank. Being a blue spirit in this game is also frustrating, usually the respawn is very far away and many are used as gankers' henchmen.
3 - There is no level/gear limit for friends with a password. This makes a level 10 invader fight 3x1 against level 400 ghosts. Summoning a super high level friend should make room for higher level invasions receiving the same nerfs as the phantom.
4 - Large enemies and open world bosses cause damage to the invader. ??? Yes, the mobs that were supposed to help the invader end up killing them.
5 - Many long and medium range abilities favor gankers. Unlike other games in the series, this one has a lot of area skills and spells, in a fair fight like in 2x2 arenas the pvp is very good, but this is one of the reasons that encourages gankers to stand still on the map waiting for invaders to spam skills .
6 - When the open world mini boss dies, the connection ends. This is idiotic for both raids and co-op.
7 - Some Bonfires are in front of the boss's door. The rebirth statues on the boss door were a good decision for those who are playing solo pve. But to play online, the bonfires should be a little removed, as they have always been in all dark souls.
Unlike all 3 dark souls, elden ring has the worst experience for invaders, on the other hand, the game did everything to motivate idiotic gankers to stay put and spread out invasions to play 2x1, 3x1.
Note: The pvp arena at level 150 has a lot of activity and is balanced, if you like pvp go there.

2024.05.29 05:30 Little_BlueBirdy Today, amidst the digital labyrinth of Reddit, I found myself at a juncture where my convictions collided:
| The tale begins with a moderator—a wielder of virtual authority, draped in the cloak of anonymity. Their actions, like ripples across a vast cosmic pond, reverberated through the threads of a subreddit. Rising information, once concealed, now lay exposed—a secret whispered into the digital winds. The subject? Another user, ensnared in the web of their own vulnerability. I hesitated, fingers poised above the keyboard, contemplating the weight of my next move. The path of least resistance beckoned—an easy retreat into the shadows, where apathy and indifference held sway. But within me stirred a dormant ember—the ember of justice, perhaps, or the echo of ancient oaths sworn by forgotten heroes. And so, I reported the rogue moderator. Not with the fervor of a righteous avenger, but with the quiet resolve of someone who glimpsed the cosmic gears turning. The user, battered and bruised, had chosen silence over defiance. Their voice, muffled by fear, needed amplification—an echo chamber of empathy and solidarity. Yet, I harbor no illusions. Reddit, that sprawling agora of pixels and opinions, rarely wields its banhammer with precision. It is a place where trolls dance with impunity, where the line between jest and cruelty blurs like distant constellations. But still, I clung to hope—a fragile filament spun from stardust and stubbornness. In this celestial skirmish, I wish no ill upon the moderator. Their motives remain shrouded—a nebula of enigma. Perhaps they, too, grapple with cosmic questions: the nature of power, the boundaries of compassion, and the gravity of their digital deeds. Or perhaps they are mere shadows, cast by the flickering light of their monitor. And so, the fight persists—a cosmic tug-of-war across the binary expanse. Threads fray, pixels flicker, and the cosmic clock ticks inexorably. Somewhere, beyond the ones and zeros, lies resolution—a distant quasar of equilibrium. May it arrive, not as a cataclysm, but as a quiet dawn—a moment when the cosmic scales find balance, and the stars themselves nod in approval. And thus, dear seeker of stories, I share this fragment—a pixelated parable—woven from the threads of curiosity and my cosmic musings submitted by Little_BlueBirdy to StrikeAtPsyche [link] [comments] |
2024.05.29 04:21 AutocadBootTime Bugged helltides is the best game feature in a long time.
Hear me out. I have literally not had more fun playing this game than while doing the helltides with the threat bug with a friend for about two helltides. Randomly running around having worms spew packs of mobs onto us, barely being about to progress to chests while laughing hysterically has been amazing. It's hectic. There was risk. It was fantastic fun.
I think there is an opportunity to leverage this into another "endgame" activity. The pit is essentially the endgame version of nightmare dungeons. Why can't the same be done with helltides? I think there is a way to leverage the threat mechanic to great fun and risk/reward in helltides.
Pop a "brain" you begin at zero threat. Every threat level increases mob level by 5. Every 5 levels of threat a hellbourne spawns. Past 5 or maybe 10 levels of threat the game more or less behaves like the threat bug spewing monsters at you constantly. You can increase threat and consequently monster level indefinitely until you die OR you can reset that ALA PvP zone by visiting the healer in town if things get a little bit too spicy.
I realize this breaks some of the farming meta. But I think what players need is a way to take normal activities and have them scale their risks, rewards, challenge, and sheer nutiness as you play the game.
I think it would be fantastically fun to have worms spewing level 250 mobs on top of you while you're struggling to survive and run to chests.
Many things would need to be worked out and it would open up some potential problems but from a gameplay loop of a geared or semi geared level 100 character I would find this extremely compelling.
Edit: PSA it is still working.

2024.05.29 02:59 DoubleUTeeEfff [REQUEST] [STEAM] Project Zomboid! On sale until June 3rd
Well, after starting to watch through The Walking Dead after not getting past Season 2 my first attempt 2 years ago, I've been on my regular zombie fix lately.
Sometimes I find myself thinking maybe a real apocalypse wouldn't be so bad. No more bills to worry about amiright?
Instead, I've been on the fix to find the perfect zombie survival game. Not something that is level based like Left 4 Dead or story based like Days Gone, which are both fantastic and legendary games in their own right - but something that is truly just genuine zombie
survival.
I've always enjoyed various survival games. The Forest, Green Hell, Subnautica, and of course the ol' reliable Minecraft. Speaking of Minecraft - I've been sinking some hours into a zombie apocalypse modpack to try to tame my itch, but it's not quite getting the job done.
This is where Project Zomboid comes into play no pun intended Project Zomboid would itch the oh so itchy scratch I have had for some time now. An open-ended zombie survival sandbox with one objective: "Survive"
Whether each life I live in this game is 30 minutes or 30 days, I can see myself playing this over and over and over, trying different tactics, building bases, trying different character traits to help me, or hinder me!
What else would I want to do to deal with my depression, boredom, and occasional illnesses, than play a game that makes me deal with depression, boredom, and occasional illnesses! What more could a guy want!
In all seriousness. I feel like this is the more laid back version of DayZ that I can enjoy by myself and not worry about spending 6 hours getting gear, only to die by PVP. And at least if I do, I can pick traits next time around that help me out more!
If anyone is feeling generous this Christmas in May, Project Zomboid is on sale for $13.39 until June 3rd.

2024.05.29 02:20 winterdelight1 LZ Camped at Bravo 2 - squad of friendly PMCs accompanied me to get my gear
I love this game and community. I am a total noob - level 1 and just getting through the initial tasks.
I completed another task (finding some location), looted an AKM, a key, ammo, some watesoda and was LZ camped at Bravo 2 by some dude with a silencer in the tall grass. I came back to base super bummed and voiped to the nearest friendly that they are camping our closest LZ. He responds “PVP at bravo 2? Boys let’s go”. Him and two friends got in the helicopter with me. They proceeded to flash bang and mag dump into the grass. We unfortunately didn’t find the guy but I was able to get all my gear back and extract safely.
Moments like this make for a great game.
Thank you,

2024.05.29 01:39 applejackhero Running Pathfinder2e in Eberron- A short guide to class flavor
I dropped D&D5e for Pathfinder2e basically immediately on release. I never gave up playing in my favorite D&D campaign setting though- Eberron. If anything, I found Pathfinder2e better suited to the Eberron setting, which I had played in 3.5’s ocean of content for years. While I have grown to enjoy Pathfinder’s Golarion via playing in multiple of Paizo’s APs, I still run my own games in Eberron, using Pathfinder 2e rules. I am not the only person to do this, and there is even a
fantastic fan-made Eberron conversion that can be found [here}(
https://scribe.pf2.tools/v/2qF7WjsY-pathfinders-guide-to-eberron).
Pathfinder2e has 23 base classes, with that number soon to be rising to 27. Not all these classes have obvious D&D parallels, and so I wrote this guide primarily help players and GMs link Pathfinder’s many unique classes to Eberrons’ somewhat less conventional fantasy world. I also sort of hope this might interest some Eberron players to give Pathfinder2e a try, and some Pathfinder2e players to give Eberron a try. I will go over all the Pathfinder2e unique classes and talk about how to connect or change them (thematically) to fit into Eberron- no mechanical homebrew required.
The artificer question: Eberron created a class for D&D that is special built for the setting, the Artificer. In Eberron, where magic is technology, Artificers are sort of like scientists. In game mechanics, they are magic item specialists. In the original 3.5 rules, they literally just made magic items as their main class feature. This was changed (ruined in my opinion) in D&D5e, but the core of the class is still character who does not cast spells, themselves, but rather manipulates magic items. This does not exist in Pathfinder2e, but there are a few classes I think make for great substitutes mechanically if you change the flavor. I will bring this up in a few classes under the heading “Can this class be an Artificer?”
Alchemist- Alchemists create Elixers and bombs and mutagens, all of which fit very well into the world of Eberron. You can absolutely play an alchemist straight- A goblin engineer could be a bomber, a veteran of the Last War could be a Chirugeon, and a Lizardfolk shaman from Q’bara could be toxicologist. Another angle though is shift the Alchemist to be more magical in nature. A bomb could be a crystal that houses elemental energy. A mutagen could be a device that injects arcane power into the blood. Can this class be an artificer? Absolutely, that small flavor change to make the class more magical in nature is all you need to do.
Gunslinger- This is a weird one. Some people do just play Eberron as a world that has guns- this has become more common in the 5e era, and there is nothing wrong with this. Personally, prefer the idea that guns don’t exist, but there is magic that comes very close. The setting in Eberron takes place shortly after a massive, World War 1-esque conflict that accelerated the pace of magical technology. I like to run with the idea that wands were developed as offensive weapons- not as powerful as a wand that casts a whole spell but able to shoot blasts of magic all day. In my Eberron, these gun-wands are powered by Dragonshards that serve almost like magazines or heat sinks in Mass Effect. The result? Wandslingers baby. Mechanically, your pistolero might still be using two guns, but thematically, their long coat is now full of “dueling wands”. The Sniper might have a special, magically powered rail gun that fires a crossbow bolt with lightning magic. You can run wild with the flavor! The one thing I like to maintain is that gunwands are still new and rare, much like guns in the Golarion world. Wandslingers are specially trained wizards and warriors- a random layperson couldn’t just pick up a gunwand and make it work. This sort of ads to the “true grit” feel of the gunslinger. Er, wandslinger.
Another option for the Gunslinger for players who want to stay true to the gunpowder theme, is introduce guns as weapons from the Dwarven Mror Holds or the Hobgoblin nation of Darguun. It would be a stretch to say that pirates from Lhazaar have adopted these weapons either.
Inventor- Much like the Alchemist and the Gunslinger, the best way to convert the Inventor into fitting into Eberron is retool them to be more explicitly magical. They still might have gears and gizmos and gadgets, but these tools should be powered via magical sources. You can really work on your Magipunk slang here “I added mana-calibrators to my geomantic hammer”. A good media example for a magical inventor might be a character like Jace from Netflix’s
Arcane series. As touched on previously, Eberron features magical crystals called “Dragonshards” that store, bind, and release magic. These could be a great way to work an Inventor character into Eberron. Additionally, the House of Making provides a natural backstory home to the inventor. Could this class be an artificer? Absolutely. This is probably the best analogue to 5es “Battlesmith” subclass of the artificer.
Investigator- The Eberron world is a setting that is built around intrigue, mystery, and even noir, as much as it it pulp action adventure. The Investigator is an easy slot into Eberron. Multiple governments have spy agencies, such as Breland’s Dark Lanterns. Over half of the Dragonmarked houses have solid reasons to employ investigator type characters, whether a half-elf detective for house Medani, a half orc bounty hunter of Tharask, or even a specialized Courier for house Orien. Additionally, an Investigator makes for a great “on the job scholar” type character, a treasure hunteresearcher for Morgrave University, for example.
Kineticist- Eberron is full of the idea of “manifest” zones; regions that have some extraplanar link to elemental (or other planes), pefect for playing this elementally charged class. This is an easy way to work a Kinetcist’s backstory into Eberron. For example, a character from Sharn who races in the Eight Winds race could be an air Kineticist due to their connection to Sharn’s manifest Zone. Another option is to simply have Kinetcists be more primal, raw types of magic users. An orc from a Gatekeeper tribe could be a wood Kineticist, a Dwarf mountaineer from Mror could be a stone kineticist. My group currently has a Sahaguin who is a aiwater kineticst. Finally, a Kineticst is, mechanically speaking, a class that uses magic but doesn’t cast spells. This could be used to represent Dragonmark, especially a rare and dangerous Abberant Dragonmark, very well. Could this class be an artificer? Why the hell not. Maybe an artificer who specializes in elemental binding?
Magus- This has to be one of the easiest ones to adapt. A Warrior who wields magic and weapons fits almost anywhere in Eberron, since the whole idea is commonplace. A veteran soldier? Special Forces? A pirate? An enforcer of a Dragonmarked house? A champion of the cults of the Dragon Below? A survivor of the Mourning? Could this class be an artificer? Yes, if you don’t mind being a very martially focused character. Maybe an artificer who uses a specially powered magical sword?
Oracle- A caster powered by a mysterious curse? That seems like a shoe-in for a character that draws power from the Draconic Prophecy. It also seems like a good way to play a character who has a dragonmark- especially someone with a difficult to control Siberys mark or a strange Aberrant mark. For example, someone with a powerful Mark of the Storm might be a Tempest Oracle, wheras someone with a mysterious connection to the Draconic Prophecy might be a Cosmos Oracle. Additionally, because Eberron’s dieties are so distant and nebulously real, an Oracle dedicated to them makes for a good divine character that exists outside of traditional church hierarchy- like a zealot of Dol Arrah (Battle Oracle).
Psychic- The obvious home for the Psychic class is as a substitute for psionics, which Eberron was designed to include in 3e, but has never really found a home for in 5e. The class works well for Kalashtar or Reidran humans, or anyone who uses psionics. Some subclasses of the Psychic might also work well for certain members of dragonmarked houses. The way I run Eberron in Pathfinder2e is that any occult-list (one of Pathfinder’s four sources of magic)
may be a psionic character. I once had a psionic bard! But not every occult caster
has to be a psionic user. Again, that means a Psychic can work great for a Kalashtar Psion, but also can work for a magical character, like a silent Thuranni assassin who kills with mind magic.
Sorcerer- Sorcerers are different enough in Pathfinder2e from D&D that I think they are worth mentioning here. Pathfinder has four magic sources, rather than two. Arcane (wizards), Divine (Clerics), Primal (Druids), and Occult (Bards). Sorcerers are not just arcane casters- they choose which source they cast from on character creation when they choose a Bloodline. This gives them a HUGE variety of ways to fit in the world. A primal magic using sorcerer with the Fey bloodline could be from the Eldeen reaches, a Divine sorcerer with the demon bloodline could be from the Demon Wastes, an Occult sorcerer could have the power of a Quori spirit within them, all alongside your traditional dragon-blooded arcane sorcerer. Because of this, I also think sorcerers could be a good stand in for Artifacers with a bit of reflavoring (and focus on crafting). An Imperial Bloodline sorcerer especially could work well as an artificer. I think a Wizard might be a more clear choice, but the potential is there.
Summoner- Summoner is a very broad class that chooses between all four magic traditions (much like sorcerer). The main thing they have going on is their permanent summoned companion- their Eidolon. This gives a lot of oppurtunities to work them into Eberron. Their backgrounds can be just as diverse- from a necromancer from Karnath to priest from Thrane with a connection to a holy spirit, to a clockwork engineer from Zilargo. My current Eberron party has a demonic summoner who has a flesh-warping creature from Khyber as their Eidolon! I do think the summoner could work as a very specific kind of artificer who has a constructed battle companion- though the Inventor might work better for this, unless you want spells.
Swashbuckler- Another very simple one. A warrior who relies on daring and gusto over strength is a great trope for Eberron. From an airship captain to Lhazar pirate, to even a Hoggoblin swordsage or a street fighter from the slums of Wroat, the Swashbuckler fits anywhere into Eberron with no need for flavor changes.
Witch- Like the Sorcerer and Summoner, Witches choose their magical source on character creation (though the vast majority of their subclasses are Occult and Primal). The witch is sort of the Pathfinder2e version of the warlock; their power comes from a pact with a powerful entity. Mechanically though, Witches are much more about hexes and sustaining buffs/debuffs than dealing damage and blasting. Eberron is full of a lot of power creatures- Demons, Dragons, Fey, Quori, Dealkyr which make for great patrons for a Witch. I also think its entirely possible to simply have your patron be a powerful mage or even a dragonmarked house- a storm-witch of house Lyrandar or a shadow-witch of house Phiarlan, for example.
I hope this gets people inspired to make characters, and maybe even look into the Eberron campaign setting. I also hope this helps GMs do what I have done over the last few years, which is migrate 5e players over to Pathfinder2e.

2024.05.29 00:47 VirruS37 ADVICE NEEDED: Custom magblade
Hey, I like to talk, so sorry in advance Ill try to keep it short and concise. Backstory: I decided to give the game a try and bought it on friday, since then I've been no lifing it and I got lucky with the xp event and Im soon (tmrw hopefully) CP 160. Atm I dont have ESO+, if the game holds me for a while longer (at least couple days/weeks) Ill defo sub in. So most of sets recommendations and gear is out of the question since I have glorious 40k and no dlcs. So to satisfy my ocd I decided to focus on my rotation and skills (and started collecting divine and other good pieces for research for when times right). Problem: I looked up at least 20 guides and each is a bit different, which part of me loves cuz it creates unique experience but I cant make up my mind. So I took a bit from each and tried to make my own build. Playstyle: I hate switching gear and skill points so Id like to keep that at minimum if possible, atm I focus on solo play but if I continue playing id love to get into PVE, fuck PvP honestly - maybe later, I have 'bit' of raiding experience in other MMO (3-5x 2h long prog and countless random raids a week for over 3 years, and raid leading most of those... as I said: a bit). I But without furtherado lets get to the build Front bar: DW 1. Concealed weapon 2. Merciless resolve 3. Dark shade 4. Impale 5. Inner light 6. Soul harvest
Back bar: Des. Staff 1. Swallow Soul 2. Sap essence 3. Twisting path 4. Unstable wall 5. Siphoning attacks 6. Soul tether
Questions: 1. Any ideas what to change, if anything? I love that I can switch melle and range and ST and AOE as I need and the fact that i have lot of survivalibility... Ive got both range and melee spammable, bursty ST frontbar, healing/AOE/dot backbar. Shitton of ultimate (during dungeons I can use soul tether on every 2nd group of trash mobs) 2. Would vampire (fits the theme imho kek) be good choice? At least for the spammable attack instead of concelaed weapon... 3. What armor? Ive seen builds using all three in roughly 4:3:1 ratio. Atm Im 50 light armor and getting both med and heavy there... 4. Any tips how to prepare for 'later'? Atm Im trying to research the traits (divines for armor pieces, precise for staff and charged dagger (and nirnrhoned, ye I know its special)) 5. Any other tips, comments and critiquing is welcome
Ok, my mega long post over, if you got all the way to here: you're awesome, keep at it and have a great rest of the week! Peace

2024.05.28 23:41 rgzera Move speed.
Hi everyone. I would like to ask how important move speed is.
My problem being, i would love to be a spellcaster but all the gear with move speed are for physical dmg. So i ended up using greatsword and longbow and my non defensive spell is powersurge with even more move speed/ attack speed and damage boost.
I either snipe everyone with longbow or go in for the chop chop with greatsword. It works pretty well but i always gravitate towards spellcasting in games. Giving up the rogue move speed and the armor set move speed however, seems like a huuuge debuff. Move speed makes dodging easier. PvP opponents can almost never get away.
Having scholar blood with all out spell crit chance and cd reduction also feels amazing but the cooldown reduction does not seem to make up for the reduced ability in dodging by walking faster. Maybe im just bad.
Any take on this?

2024.05.28 23:09 RequiemAA Suggestion - resource sink for rerolling/perfecting Gems
Idk if there's an official forum or anything but I'm at 91 on a Brutal PvP server with all bosses dead and basically everything on farm. All dracula sets, fully geared servants, almost all legendaries, etc.
The only thing I can't really do is target farm for the Gem rolls I want.
I think it would be a great idea for the next major update to include a system to reroll specific Gem rolls to hit max values (or increase the value you have incrementally until max). Or to reroll a specific effect you don't want without having to roll the entire gem.
I don't think this should be a purely stygian shard cost as that resource is already hotly contested with very few ways to obtain it.
I also think you should be able to feed your horses and servants stygian shards or other materials to increase their stats/expertise up to max or a cap. 11.0 horse with great acceleration but piss poor turning? Feed it pieces of Dracula's power!
I also think there should be an endless dungeon/horde mode or something. Instanced, but with an entrance in the open world and rewards given based on how far you get with random leveled up bosses every ~10 waves or rooms. But that's an entirely different suggestion.

2024.05.28 23:06 Weird-Ohh Persona use/optimization question
Recently returned player here. Been playing on teek and gave in and got the most recent expansion for personas. I’m probably overthinking this, but should I group characters/personas by armor type to increase gear overlap and potentially save inventory space (example: Rogue with shaman/ranger, or all cloth casters) or is that kinda defeating the purpose of having a consolidated character with multiple class options?
Probably overthinking, but would appreciate any advice or info on how you utilize personas.
Thanks in advance!

For pre-raid BiS R shamans, what's the best haste soft cap to shoot for throughput wise? Most online guides say go for 916/7.15% haste (1 extra tick on all HoTs) but I ended up hitting 15.65 pretty easily (2 extra ticks of riptide) with my current gear setup. Is it worth reforging away all that haste into mastery for better throughput or will it not be particularly noticeable? For context - we're planning on hitting Thursday night with heroic 25 man BWD. 2024.05.28 19:07 virtuzoso Would you recommend Fistweaver?
I mained rogue from release to Wrath, then switched to DK, then spent a considerable amount of time as a resto shaman and elemental shaman.
I never tried monk and only play casually these days. Fistweaver SOUNDS like it would work well for me as I'm used to melee and do have some healing experience. I don't have a ton of time to dedicate just to finding out that a new class sucks.
Im interested in it for queing for dungeons as healer role, I am not time rich enough to dedicate to raids beyond the occasional LFR or doing any higher end Mythics.
I have watched some videos but it's quite hard to tell from that how it feels and honestly I don't know how other players feel about having them in groups either since I'm returning from a pretty long break.
So how does it feel to play in mostly casual group content?
Do you like having them in the group or do you roll your eyes at the fistweaver noob?
How difficult is it to play at that casual level?
Is it a high skill ceiling class?
What's the apm like?
Any helpful info you want to add?
