Paradigm Monitor 5 or Polk TSi500

Paradigm Monitor 5 or Polk TSi500
Hello,
I've been running the Polk M20 tower speakers for the better part of the last ten years, along with a RM705 sub, and a crappy Samsung centre, driven by an old Yamaha Natural receiver.
I've been wanting to get more detailed, lively mains for listening to records, and I'm also thinking about expanding to 5.1 to enhance the home theatre aspect.
Right now I have the opportunity to purchase a set of Paradigm 5 mains, with Insp 6 Micro V2 satellites, a CC-70 centre, and a Kenwood receiver and CD player whose model I do not know. This package would cost me $300 (listed for $375). I don't know if I'd use the new receiver and CD player or sell them, but I'd replace the mains and centre, and use the satellites - it would be a matched set.
Alternatively, I could purchase a set of Polk TSi500 for $250. I'd use these as my new mains, and move my old M20s to the back of the room for 5.1. I'd still have a crappy home-theatre-in-a-box Samsung centre, but I could replace it down the line with something better.
I'm currently leaning toward toward the Paradigm package, simply because Paradigm is supposedly a higher end brand with better components than Polk, and it would be a matched set. On the other hand, the Paradigm speakers are supposedly over 20 years old (owner says they were barely used) and have a reputation for dead tweeters and dried up ferrofluid, neither of which I'm interested in having to fix. The Polks are considerably newer, and more well-known, plus each tower has four woofers, which at least seems more impressive.
I'm going to see the Paradigm package tonight. The seller said they'd demo it for me, and that everything is fully functional.
Is it even worth going to see these 20+ year old speakers? Are they worth $300 CAD if they all work? Are the TSi500s a better deal? Is it even worth replacing my M20s with either of these, or should I look for something completely different?

2024.05.16 17:12 ppettersson Replacement for JBL Reflect Contour 2

I need something that goes deep into the ear, as the JBL's do, as I work in construction and use them as hearing protection.
I've tried Soundcore Sport X10 but the earhook forced the bud out of the ear, so they were a no-go. Soundcore Liberty 4 NC was my second and latest attempt but they didn't go deep enough so while working I had to adjust them continuously so they wouldn't fall out, so they were a no-go.
Have my eyes on some Sony versions like MX3/4/5 and Linkbuds S (and I have Sony over ears that i like) as they atleast on picture seem to have a deep fit but I'm getting unsure if I'll be able to use something that doesn't have a earhook.
In short ANC (with ambient/transparency mode) "Deep fit" True wireless
Any recommendations?

Questions from a newbie. šŸŽ¶
Please be kind. Iā€™m very new to vinyl & turntables, and was recently gifted this vintage turntable from 1981 that my mother-in-law, and I would love to see up and running.
Question 1. Am having the hardest time finding a needle that isnā€™t $70 with an attached brush. I was looking at replacing the whole cartridge so that it accepts a more modern needle making it easier to replace. I wondered if anyone has any suggestions? Attached above is a screenshot where I found one on Amazon, but it has zero reviews and that makes me skeptical. Is there a better supply store online? Am I thinking of doing the right thing?
Question 2. As far as speakers go this turn table came with a matching receiver, but I would like to find a different solution. Only one of the speaker outputs on the receiver seems to work which I could probably fix with some compressed air. However; I would prefer to connect the turntable directly into speakers to minimize bulk. The am/fm radio on the receiver longer picks up any stations, and I donā€™t see the point of having the turntable plugged into the receiver for the soul purpose of transmitting the audio to the speakers. The attached picture of the wires are not removable from the turntable unit. Is there any speakers that would anyone could recommend that have the screw style ground as Iā€™ve seen it could cause humming if not grounded?
Question 3. Any recommendations for polishing up the dust cover plastic to renew it to its former glory?
Please share links to your recommendations, and any advice is welcome. šŸ™šŸ»

2024.05.16 17:06 philomancy Likely a very basic question - New Crosley to old speakers connection

Hi all,
I bought a second hand (but still pretty new) crosley voyager. I found the audio pretty quiet so thought id pick some speakers. I found a set in a charity shop and was chuffed with the bargain.
The issue im running into is that the Crosley has an RCA connector and the speakers have that loose wiring connector that I've seen on... better record players in the past.
is there some sort of converter I could get? I'm pretty broke and just love playing records to replacing the whole show isnt really an option.

2024.05.16 17:00 Mad_Maelstrom Recalls and Intermittent Camera

Just wanted to give an update on a couple of issues I posted about a couple of weeks ago. Car went in for the passenger heating recall and PCM update. I mentioned the cameras to them along with a door rattle (which I thought might be the speaker).
They thought the camera might be the drivers side mirror one so replaced that with no luck. Apparently there's an advisory for this which basically says "don't mess about with it, replace the wiring loom for the cameras" - so they've ordered the parts for this. As for the rattle, they replaced the speaker but no joy so they've ordered some parts from Germany to hopefully correct the issue.
So whilst a bit of an inconvenience the service has been great

2024.05.16 16:41 BeerMakesYuSmarterer Does it make sense to replace a traditional audio system with a group of Alexa speakers?

Hi, newbie here in need for some opinion from the audiophiles in the sub.
I'm moving to a small apartment and their rules won't allow me to use a subwoofer because the sound can be carried across the floor to the apartments below.
I have an high end Marantz audio system that I use to listen to music all day long. The model is not relevant, but I have it configured the way I like it, and I typically set it with a volume low enough so it's not disruptive of my work calls, but loud enough so I can listen to the music if I pay attention. I can move everywhere around the house and still be able to listen to the music from most areas. The bass does the trick and it seems like it will be difficult to set it up this way in the apartment without them noticing.
I just learned that I can buy multiple Echo devices and play them as a group (Yes, I've living under a rock for the past 10 years). I was never interested in standalone speakers until I learned about this feature.
Does it make sense to replace my audio system with a group of Echo speakers distributed across the apartment? What are the caveats I need to keep in mind when selecting the speakers (either Echo or other Alexa-enabled devices)

2024.05.16 16:23 LegitimateHumanBeing Left speaker only reacts when volume is cranked

Greetings all - long time lurker, first time poster.
My setup is all in-the-box (shocking, I know). I'm a guitarist/singesongwriter and I've noticed of late that sometimes I have to crank the volume on my Yamaha MG10XU to get the left speaker (JBL LSR305) to kick in.
9 o'clock on the Yamaha's Monitor knob is typically plenty loud for my needs (the JBL's knobs are set to around 11 o'clock) but often I'll have to move the mixer knob closer to 12 to get the left speaker to react and then I can back it off again. This has been an issue for awhile now, even before I purchased the yamaha and had a different audio setup.
I assume there's some analog fuckery going on here and I was hoping somebody could give me some advice on how best to deal with it.
Thanks!

2024.05.16 15:19 MrPirateFish Question Regarding Inductors - Going Insane

Question Regarding Inductors - Going Insane
So these are a pair of Aerial LR5s Iā€™ve spent the last, almost two years on. I was a newbie at first and learned to recap and solder on some other pieces of equipment.
I repaired the tweeter in one of the aerials and the mid drivers and I recapped every single cap and resistor as there was high current damage all through the board.
The right speaker now sounds fabulous. The leftā€¦ not so much. Mid driver is not as bright. I confirmed itā€™s not the driver as I swapped both of them and sound is bright and clear.
My question is, how do I measure these inductors? These are the only thing I have not replaced, and Iā€™m willing to give it one last go after all the time Iā€™ve spent on these guys.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks all.

2024.05.16 15:09 RaplhKramden What kind of access point do I need for my situation?

We have a fairly simple setup, FiOS connected to TP-Link AC1750 router in a bedroom, connected to an old router set up as an access point via a 50' Cat5 Ethernet cable in the living room.
We have up to around 25 devices connected, most via WiFi, a few wired, the usual mix, desktop, laptop, tablets, phones, streaming devices, WiFi outlets and bulbs, Google Home speakers, TV, etc.
Works fine most of the time but several times a week the AP flakes out and needs to be reset, which is annoying, plus I worry about security with such an old device, so it's time to replace it.
What I'm wondering is whether to get a dedicated wired access point, and if so which, or relegate the current router as the new access point and get a new, better router, like a TP-LINK AX3000. I'm willing to spend up to $100, as our needs don't require more than that.
Suggestions?

2024.05.16 14:51 -Sulto IS 2015 Mic not working

Hi all,
I recently replaced my amplifier due to water damage because of heavy rain, the amp i got from scrap is for GS350/GS450h 2013-2015 (part #86280-30670-1) this what was available and requested one to match my part number and hopefully will get it soon.
Everything is working fine except for right rear speaker(not a concern easily replaceable) and the mic, connecting the phone through bluetooth playing music all good.
Only mic, when calling or receiving a call no one can hear me but i can hear them clearly.
I checked most LexusClub forum posts and none have this issue in 3IS or i couldn't find one.
I tried disconnecting the battery overnight, next checked hidden menu to do mic test but not showing any signs it's working.
Is it because the amp is not for my model? Is there a fuse i need to check? Or do i need to replace the mic? Which is insane!
I have Lexus IS 2015 fsport.
Appreciate your help in advance!
Notes:
SOS button is not having the light turned on anymore, techstream doesn't show any DTC or issue.
Tried updating the software by using USB, it's not detecting that there is an patch file.
I read somewhere in the internet that the mic fuse is the same for SOS button, but i cannot locate it ā˜¹ļø
My amp was made in Thailand, part#86280-53190 The amp i got is made in China šŸ’€

2024.05.16 14:41 Arbrand The Trickster's Veil

As far back as I can remember, I had always been passionate about the great outdoors. My love for the wilderness began when I joined the scouts, exploring the diverse landscapes of Southern California, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah. I was never a huge fan of the dry, barren landscapes, but camping provided a much-needed escape from the monotony of Orange County suburbia.
The first time I visited the Pacific Northwest, I was enchanted. The scenery was breathtakingā€”majestic mountains, lush fields, and meandering rivers. It was clear that anyone who praised the desert's beauty had never laid eyes on the Cascades. Seeing grass and wildflowers growing without irrigation was practically a revelation.
When I was old enough, I moved to Washington state, immersing myself in nature every weekend. My adventures took me hiking through dense forests, camping by serene lakes, and occasionally taking mushrooms under peaceful waterfalls.
I joined several online forums dedicated to outdoor enthusiasts. One community that particularly fascinated me was the Northwest Tomb Raiders. This group of history buffs and thrill-seekers was dedicated to uncovering artifacts, whether Native American relics or treasures hidden in modern ruins. Many members were collectors, fencing their finds to museums and archaeologists, which made it a rather profitable side gig, should you be lucky enough.
In the fall of 2009, an intriguing post appeared on the forum. A user named Lokk claimed to have discovered a cache of artifacts with Scandinavian origins. He couldn't carry everything back due to the treacherous terrain and his age, so he shared the coordinates, hoping someone else could retrieve the items. I scrolled down to see a few posts of people planning to loot it in the Spring, when the paths have reopened. One user, Patagooner, planned on going as early as possible.
Excited by the prospect, I gathered my two friends, Carl and Noah, for the expedition. They weren't as enthusiastic about camping as I was, but after I told them how much a single arrowhead goes for on the black market, they were on board. It was the start of winter now, which had its advantages and disadvantages. On the plus side, the rangers would have a harder time spotting us. On the downside, the harsh conditions posed a serious challenge for two inexperienced hikers.
I mustā€™ve blown about four grand at REI on gear for them, justifying it with the knowledge of how much more I would make with two extra packs. That is of course assuming there really were as many artifacts as Lokk had said, and Patagooner hadnā€™t beaten me there.
The journey began like any other. We met in the pre-dawn darkness and went over our supplies, ensuring we had everything we needed. By mid-morning, we were on our way, my pickup truck winding up the mountain paths. The roads of Olympic National Park were the epitome of the raw, untamed beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
They snake through ancient forests, where towering Douglas firs and Western hemlocks create a verdant canopy overhead. Mist clings to the trees, giving the landscape an ethereal quality. Occasionally, the forest would open up to reveal breathtaking vistas of snow-capped peaks and deep, shadowy valleys.
As we climbed higher, the landscape grew increasingly desolate. The dense forest thinned out, replaced by rugged terrain and jagged rock formations. The air grew colder, and the first flurries of snow began to fall, dusting the ground in a thin, white layer. The road became narrower and more treacherous, winding precariously along the edge of steep cliffs.
Finally, a road closure blockade signaled the end of our journey in the truck. We unloaded three dirt bikesā€”one mine, two rentalsā€”and continued up the trail. The bikes roared to life, carrying us several more miles into the wilderness. The trail twisted and turned, cutting through dense underbrush and over fallen logs. The snow began to fall more heavily, blanketing the forest floor and muffling the sound of our engines. The world around us grew quieter, more isolated.
Eventually, the snow became too deep to traverse by bike. We dismounted and prepared to continue on foot. The silence of the forest was profound, broken only by the occasional rustle of branches in the wind. I checked my modern GPS, its screen displaying the coordinates and a relief map of our destination.
The cold air bit into our cheeks as we trudged through the snow-laden forest. The silence was almost oppressive, broken only by the crunch of our footsteps and the occasional call of distant wildlife. The GPS indicated we were close to our destination, but the dense underbrush and uneven terrain made progress slow.
Suddenly, Carl's excited whisper cut through the stillness. "Hey, look at that!"
He pointed to a small, furry creature ambling through the trees. It took a moment to realize what it wasā€”a bear cub, innocently exploring its surroundings.
My heart sank. "Carl, get back," I hissed, my voice low but urgent. "Where there's a cub, there's a..."
Before I could finish, a massive shape exploded from the trees. The mother bear, easily three times the size of the cub, charged at Carl with a ferocity. She was a blur of dark fur and powerful muscles, her roar echoing through the forest.
"Run!" I yelled, but it was too late. The bear was upon Carl, swiping at him with her massive paws. He screamed as he fell to the ground, the bear towering over him. Desperation and adrenaline surged through me. I grabbed the nearest heavy branch and swung it at the bear, hoping to distract her.
Noah joined in, shouting and waving his arms. We had to be careful; one wrong move and she would turn on us. The bear snarled, turning her attention away from Carl for just a moment. It was enough for him to scramble backwards, clutching his bleeding arm.
"We have to get him out of here," I shouted to Noah, who nodded, fear etched on his face. The bear, still enraged, seemed torn between attacking us and protecting her cub.
Using the brief respite, we hauled Carl to his feet. His face was white, and he was clearly in shock. Blood soaked his sleeve, dripping onto the snow. "There's a ranger station about two miles from here," I said, my voice shaking. "We need to get him there. Now."
We half-carried, half-dragged Carl through the forest, every shadow and sound heightening our paranoia.
Finally, after what felt like forever, the small, wooden structure of the ranger station came into view. We had been avoiding the rangers to keep our expedition secret, but now it was our only hope.
Pounding on the door, I prayed for a quick response. The door creaked open, and a weathered face appeared. "What happened?" the ranger demanded, taking in the sight of Carl's bloodied form.
"Bear attack," I gasped. "We need help."
The ranger's expression shifted from suspicion to urgency. "Get him inside. We've got a first aid kit and a radio."
As we eased Carl onto a makeshift bed, the ranger inspected his wounds. "You're lucky," he said after a moment. "The cuts are deep, but they missed any major arteries. He'll need stitches, but we can handle that here. No need for an airlift."
The ranger's face darkened as he turned to me. "What the hell are you boys doing out here?ā€
I hesitated, "We... we were just exploring."
The ranger's eyes narrowed, his anger palpable. "Exploring? In a restricted area? In the middle of winter? Are you out of your minds?"
He worked quickly and efficiently, cleaning and stitching Carl's wounds. Carl winced but stayed silent, his eyes closed in pain.
"Do you have any idea how dangerous it is out here?" the ranger continued, his voice rising. "The storm, the wildlife... This area is off-limits for a reason! You should have known better." he said, pushing a finger into my chest.
"We'll stay here for the night," he continued, "The storm's getting worse, and it's too dangerous to move him now. We'll reassess in the morning. And count yourself lucky I don't arrest your asses."
Night fell quickly, the storm outside growing more ferocious with each passing minute. The howling wind battered the small ranger station, and the walls creaked under the pressure. We huddled in the main room, the tension thick in the air.
The ranger looked at us sternly. "I need to check the perimeter and make sure everything is secure. There are things out there you donā€™t want to encounter, especially in this storm."
"Things? What do you mean?" Noah asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
The ranger's expression hardened. "Just stay put. No matter what you see or hear, do not leave this cabin. Understood?"
We nodded, the seriousness in his tone leaving no room for argument. "We'll stay put," I said, trying to sound more confident than I felt.
The ranger grabbed his coat and shotgun. "I'll be back in an hour. Do not leave this cabin." With that, he opened the door and stepped into the raging storm, disappearing into the darkness.
As soon as the door closed, I turned to Noah. "We need to go. Now."
Noah's eyes widened. "Are you crazy? He said to stay put."
"If we wait until morning, we'll be escorted out of here and lose our chance. This might be our only opportunity to find those artifacts."
Noah hesitated with uncertainty "But... what about Carl?"
"He'll be fine here. The ranger can take care of him. We have to do this now."
Reluctantly, Noah nodded. "Alright. Let's take what we can and go."
We quickly looted extra gear from the cabin. I checked the GPS one last time before we slipped out into the storm, the cold wind battering us.
The snow fell heavily, obscuring our vision as we slogged through the forest. The ranger was nowhere in sight as we made our way towards the our destination, each step filled with trepidatious excitement.
The storm began to die down as we approached the coordinates. We stepped into a clearing where the undisturbed snow lay like a pristine white blanket. In the center stood an ancient, weathered stone altar, encircled by intricate wooden carvings, delicate metalwork, and beautifully crafted statues. The sight was breathtaking, a treasure trove, a veritable museum of paganism.
Noah and I exchanged glances, our eyes wide with amazement. "Do you see this?" I whispered, barely able to contain my excitement.
"We're going to be rich," Noah replied, his voice trembling with awe. "These must be worth a fortune!"
We approached cautiously, as if the vision before us might disappear. The craftsmanship was stunning. I reached out to touch a carved wooden idol, marveling at the detail. "This is incredible," I said, my voice barely audible.
We began to load our packs with as many artifacts as we could carry, each one more exquisite than the last. It was beyond our wildest dreams. We were so engrossed in our task that we didn't notice the small figure watching us from the ridge.
It wasn't until I turned to leave that I saw her. A young girl, maybe eight years old, stood there, her blue eyes wide with curiosity. She was dressed in simple, rustic clothing, her blonde straight hair blowing gently in the wind. For a moment, we just stared at each other.
"Noah," I whispered urgently, nudging him. "Look."
He turned, his eyes following my gaze. "What the...?" he muttered, his voice trailing off.
The girl took a tentative step forward, her eyes fixed on the items in our hands. There was no fear in her gaze, only a quiet intensity that made my skin crawl.
"Who are you?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.
She tilted her head slightly. "My name is Sigyn."
"What are you doing out here, Sigyn?" Noah asked, his voice shaky.
"I live here,"
"You live here?" I echoed, incredulous. "Is there anyone else around?"
"Yes," she whispered.
"Where?" Noah demanded, looking around nervously.
"Everywhere," she said with a giggle.
The way she said it, so matter-of-factly, bothered me deeply. Noah and I exchanged a look, both of us trying to figure out what to do next.
"We can't take her back to the ranger," Noah started, "We'll lose everything."
I nodded, my mind racing. "Sigyn," I said slowly, "we need to know who else is here. Can you help us?"
She looked at me with her piercing blue eyes, then said, "I'm sorry."
"For what?" Noah asked.
"For what's going to happen to you," she replied, her voice tinged with sadness.
"You need to tell us what's going on," Noah said, grabbing her arm roughly. "Why are you out here alone?"
She looked up at him, unperturbed. "I am not alone," she said softly.
Before we could press her further, a loud, guttural mooing sound echoed through the clearing. We turned towards the direction the girl had come from, and there, emerging from the shadows, was the silhouette of an elk. As it approached, my stomach dropped. Its body was a grotesque amalgamation of life and decay. Its skull was fully exposed, the eye sockets dark and empty. Large patches of its ribs were visible, the flesh around them rotted away.
The elk's movements were slow and deliberate, its head swaying as if in a trance. It walked directly towards us, its hollow eyes fixed on Sigyn. The closer it got, the more the stench of death filled the airā€”a nauseating mix of decay and earth. I fought the urge to retch.
Sigyn stood up, her expression calm. The monster sniffed her gently, its nostrils flaring. Without a word, she climbed onto its back, mounting it like a horse. It was a surreal and horrifying scene ripped straight from a nightmare.
As she settled onto the elk, she looked back at us, "A thief in the night shall reap what he sows," she said, her voice carrying an otherworldly echo. "Beware the price of stolen dreams."
With that, the beast turned and began to walk away, Sigyn riding it into the shadows of the forest. We stood there, frozen in place. The realization that we were in far over our heads began to sink in. This started to feel like a trap.
We need to get out of here," My voice trembling. "Now."
We turned to leave, our packs heavy with the pilfered goods. But as we took our first steps, the forest around us seemed to come alive. Shadows moved among the trees, and whispers floated on the wind. I quickened my pace, glancing nervously over my shoulder.
"Did you hear that?" Noah asked sharply,
"Just keep moving," I commanded.
A figure emerged from the shadows, blocking our path. It was a man, tall and gaunt, his eyes burning with an intense light. "Where do you think you're going?" he asked, his voice cold and menacing.
"We're leaving," I stammered. "We didn't mean any harm."
The man smirked, and with a swift motion, he raised his hand. More figures appeared, closing in on us from all sides. We were surrounded.
"Run!" I shouted, shoving Noah forward.
We sprinted through the forest, branches whipping at our faces and legs. The figures pursued us, their footsteps silent and relentless.
Noah stumbled and fell, his pack spilling open. Statues scattered across the ground, glinting in the moonlight. "Help!" he cried, scrambling to gather the items.
"Leave them!" I shouted, pulling him to his feet. "We have to keep moving!"
But it was too late, their hands seizing us. I struggled, kicking and thrashing, but their grips were too strong. They forced us to the ground, binding our hands with rough, coarse ropes.
"Please," I begged, "Don't hurt us."
The man who had first appeared stepped forward, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "A thief in the night," he mocked.
They dragged us through the forest, the trees closing in around us like a cage. We were at their mercy.
In the distance, I could see the elk standing at the edge of the clearing, Sigyn still astride its back. Her eyes met mine, and for a moment, I thought I saw a flicker of pity. But then they turned away, disappearing into the shadows once more.
We were dragged into the heart of the forest, our struggles futile against the unyielding grip of our captors. As we broke through the treeline, a massive bonfire came into view, its flames licking the night sky. Shadows danced around the clearing, cast by the flickering light. A woman stood at the forefront, her presence commanding.
Her eyes were milk white, devoid of pupils, and her long, flowing white hair cascaded down her back. She was completely naked, her skin pale and marked with intricate symbols. Atop her head, she wore an elk skull, its antlers extending like eerie, skeletal fingers. She beat a drum emblazoned with more of the same cryptic symbols, each thud resonating deep within my chest.
Around the fire, about two dozen people stood, all drinking from crude, horned cups. Their faces were solemn, eyes fixed on the woman as she led them in a haunting chant. The atmosphere was thick with a mix of reverence and intoxication.
We were forced to our knees before the woman, who paused her drumming to look down at us. Her gaze was haunting, as if she could see into the very depths of our souls.
"Who are you?" Noah demanded, his voice trembling.
The woman ignored him, raising her arms to the sky. The chanting grew louder, the rhythm of the drum faster and more frenzied. The air around us seemed to vibrate with energy, the flames of the bonfire growing higher and more intense.
I glanced at Noah, fear mirrored in his eyes. The woman began to speak, her voice low and melodic, but filled with power, in a language I couldn't understand. Suddenly, she stopped, lowering her arms. The chanting ceased, and an silence fell over the clearing. She looked directly at me, her white eyes unblinking.

Fƶr varje stulet andetag och svek, mƄste en tjuv mƶta sitt smƤrtsamma ƶdelek.
Tricksterns vilja, vƄr ande hƤr, sƄ i hans nƄd, vƄra liv bƤr.
I was terrified and confused. She started again, softer, in a way I could understand.
A thief in the night shall reap what he sows, beware the price of stolen dreams.
His laughter guards our hidden groves, where shadows cloak the forest's seams.
For every stolen breath and lie, a thief must meet his painful end.
The tricksters will, our spirits tie, so in his grace, our lives suspend.
The crowd surged forward, grabbing Noah first. He screamed, his terror echoing through the trees as they pulled him towards a makeshift altar beside the bonfire. The woman chanted louder, her voice rising in a hypnotic rhythm as they began their gruesome work.
They stripped him of his shirt and bound his arms to a wooden frame. I tried to move, to help him, but the grip on my shoulders tightened, pinning me to the ground.
The woman approached Noah, holding a knife with a blade that gleamed in the firelight. She started to slice into his back, her movements deliberate and unhurried. Noah's screams pierced the night as she methodically carved the shape of wings into his flesh.
Blood poured from the wounds, soaking the ground beneath him. The crowd's chant grew louder, almost drowning out his cries. I watched in horror as the woman reached into the incisions, breaking the ribs and pulling them outward, creating a parody of wings.
Noah's agony was unbearable to witness. His screams turned to whimpers, his body convulsing in pain. The woman didn't stop until the work was complete, his lungs exposed and hanging grotesquely from his back.
They lifted Noah's broken body and placed him over the fire. The smell of burning flesh filled the air, making me gag. His life ebbed away as the flames consumed him, the once vibrant light in his eyes fading to nothing.
The woman turned to me, her expression devoid of mercy. "You will meet the same fate," she said, "He demands it."
The smell of burning flesh and the sight of his broken body over the fire was seared into my mind. Despair settled over me as I closed my eyes.
A deafening blast shattered the night. My eyes flew open to see the shaman stumbling backward, a gaping wound in her chest. She collapsed to the ground, her white eyes staring lifelessly into the void.
The villagers turned in shock as another shot rang out, this time hitting one of the men holding me. I twisted free from their grasp and saw the park ranger standing at the edge of the clearing, a pump-action shotgun in his hands. He fired again, the sound echoing through the forest, before one of them tackled him to the ground.
"Run!" he shouted, his voice raw and desperate. "Get the hell out of here!"
I didn't need to be told twice. I sprinted into the darkness, the chaos of the clearing fading behind me. Branches whipped at my face, and the snow underfoot made every step a struggle. I could hear the sounds of fighting and gunshots, but I forced myself to keep moving.
The cold air burned in my lungs, but adrenaline pushed me forward. I didn't stop until I reached the station, my legs threatening to give out from under me. I burst through the door and slammed it behind me.
Inside, Carl lay where we had left him, his face pale and twisted in pain. I stumbled to the radio, my hands trembling as I fumbled with the controls.
"Mayday, mayday!" I yelled into the microphone. "This is an emergency! We need help! Please, someone, come quickly!"
Static filled the room, punctuated by my ragged breaths. I repeated the call, my voice growing more frantic with each passing second. Finally, a voice crackled through the speaker. "This is Ranger Station Bravo. What's your location? Over."
I could barely form the words. "Olympic National Park! The ranger station near mount Christie! We're under attack! Please, send help!"
"Copy that. Help is on the way. Stay put and stay safe. Over."
I collapsed to the floor, my body trembling with exhaustion and fear. Carl moaned softly, his eyes fluttering open. "Whatā€¦ What happened? Where's Noah?ā€
Tears streamed down my face and I found myself choked up. ā€œHeā€™s gone, man. Help is coming.ā€
The minutes stretched into an eternity as we waited. The wind howled around the station, and every creak and groan of the structure set my nerves on edge. I couldn't shake the feeling that we were being watched, that the forest itself was closing in on us.
The radio crackled again, this time with a different voice. "Helicopter en route, ETA fifteen minutes. Prepare for extraction."
I glanced at Carl, his eyes filled with confusion. "Hang on. We're getting out of here."
As the minutes ticked by, I couldn't help but think about the ranger. He had saved my life, but he hadn't made it back. My mind conjured up images of what might have happened to him, the cultists overwhelming him in the darkness. A sense of guilt gnawed at me, knowing he had sacrificed himself for us.
The sound of rotors cut through the night, growing louder as the helicopter approached. I ran to the window and saw its searchlight piercing the treetops, scanning for the station.
I helped Carl to his feet, supporting his weight as we made our way to the hatch. The helicopter hovered above, lowering a rescue basket. The wind from the rotors whipped the snow into a frenzy, but I didn't care. Salvation was finally here.
We secured Carl in the basket first, and I watched as he was hoisted up, disappearing into the safety of the helicopter. My turn was next. I realized that I was now alone and exposed. Fear coursing through me as I scanned around the edge of the forest, expecting to be grabbed and taken seconds before my rescue. But the moment never came. As I gripped the rope, I took one last look at the forest below. The flames of the bonfire still flickered in the distance.
I was lifted into the air, the ground falling away beneath me. The helicopter's crew pulled me inside, and I collapsed onto the floor still holding onto my pack, my body finally giving in to exhaustion. The doors closed, and the helicopter banked away, leaving the horrors of the park behind.
Weeks had passed since the harrowing events, but the memories clung to me like the bitter cold. I had returned to civilization, seeking solace in the familiar chaos of the city. I found a wealthy collector through a network of contacts. The artifacts fetched a price tenfold the cost of gear. The money was substantial, but as I held the cash, it felt like a hollow victory.
Noah's absence weighed heavily on me. His disappearance was chalked up as a missing persons case, and despite my best efforts to explain what had happened, no one believed me. The authorities conducted a search of the area, but they found no trace of the cult, the artifacts, or the clearing. It was as if the forest had swallowed up all the evidence.
I returned to the site where we had parked the truck. The dirt bikes were gone, stolen by opportunistic thieves, but the truck remained. I drove back in silence, the road winding through the dense forest. For a moment, I thought I saw the girl watching me from atop a ridge until I realized it was just paranoia. I stepped on the gas a little harder.
Back home, I checked the Tomb Raiders forum again. The post that had led us into the forest was gone, deleted without a trace. I messaged the mods, but apparently, they donā€™t keep records to maintain confidentiality. I wrote about our experience, detailing every terrifying moment, but the responses were skeptical at best. Most dismissed it as a work of fiction or a desperate cry for attention.
Time passed, and I tried to return to a semblance of normalcy. Yet, the wilderness called to me stronger than ever. It was my sanctuary, the only place where I could find peace amidst the turmoil. I spent more and more time outdoors than ever before, but now it always felt like I was just running from something.
Determined to prove what had happened, I returned to the forest with a camera and recording equipment. This time, I documented every step, capturing footage of the trees, the snow, and the eerie silence that hung in the air. I retraced our path, hoping to find the clearing again. But each night, as I reviewed the footage, something strange would happen. The files would be corrupted or entire segments missing.
I pressed on. I found the site where Noah had fallen, the ground still bearing faint traces of what had happened. I set up the camera and began to speak, recounting the events in detail. As I spoke, a cold wind swept through the clearing, and the camera's screen flickered. I finished my account and turned to check the recording, only to find the file corrupted once again, the footage replaced by static and a faint, mocking laughter.
I returned home, defeated and exhausted. My attempts to share what I had experienced were met with disbelief and ridicule. The files I managed to save were corrupted beyond recognition. It was as if the forest itself was conspiring against me.
Almost exactly one year later, as I browsed the forums, a new post caught my eye. It was cryptic, eerily similar to the one that had led us into the nightmare. It spoke of another trove of artifacts, hidden deep within the wilderness, waiting to be claimed.
The post was signed with a new name: Skygge. Different handle, same style. Another trap. They had taken so much from me, left scars that would never heal. I opened my drawer, my fingers brushing over the cold metal of my weapons. This was the moment I had been waiting for. This time, I'll be ready.
The forestā€™s secrets won't remain hidden forever.

2024.05.16 13:47 forest-of-ewood Roaring Kitty tweet roundup 15th May - A humble apes opinion

Hello Apes,
Here's another review of Roaring Kitty tweets, if you wanna check out previous days then links are below:
13th May
14th May
To reiterate, the description of each tweet is to the best of my knowledge the references made to allow you to make your own view in context and the speculation is pure speculation on my part, this is just for fun and shouldn't be taken as any financial advice, make your own decisions, I just like the stock. If you have anything to add feel free to in the comments and I'll do my best to update the post but given the amount of tweets now i don't have lots of time.
8:00am - https://x.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790713748866371690
Description: This is taken from the film Easy-A and shows Emma Stone walking through school catching a lot of attention looking fine and what was an A sticker in the original clip has been replaced with the Gamestop play logo. The song is Sexy Silk by Jessie J
Speculation: The stock is sexy, particularly among the younger people. What was Easy-A is now Easy-Gamestop. Looking really great in the black.
8.15am - https://x.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790717515523658119
Description: First we have a scene from the movie Prestige, with a Michael Caine voiceover about a magicians magic trick of making something disappear. The quote is "The magician takes the ordinary something and makes it do something extraordinary. Now you're looking for the secret... but you won't find it, because of course you're not really looking. You don't really want to know. You want to be fooled. But you wouldn't clap yet. Because making something disappear isn't enough; you have to bring it back." Meanwhile a person with a gamestop logo is being electrocuted to life a little frankenstein like and then a Gamestop logo bursts through an explosion. We then go to a fight scene with the song "back in the saddle again" by Aerosmith playing.
Speculation: The quote from the Prestige in full talks about the different parts of making something disappear. In full " Every great magic trick consists of three parts or acts. The first part is called "The Pledge". The magician shows you something ordinary: a deck of cards, a bird or a man. He shows you this object. Perhaps he asks you to inspect it to see if it is indeed real, unaltered, normal. But of course... it probably isn't. The second act is called "The Turn". The magician takes the ordinary something and makes it do something extraordinary. Now you're looking for the secret... but you won't find it, because of course you're not really looking. You don't really want to know. You want to be fooled. But you wouldn't clap yet. Because making something disappear isn't enough; you have to bring it back. That's why every magic trick has a third act, the hardest part, the part we call "The Prestige"." The Aerosmith song also has some interesting lyrics, "Ridin' into town alone by the light of the moon" "I'm ridin', I'm loadin' up my pistol, I'm ridin', I really got a fistful, I'm ridin', I'm shinin' up my saddle, I'm ridin', this snake is gonna rattle"
8.30am - https://twitter.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790721293089964126
Description: Not sure what film this is from but essentially we have a group of people looking for someone who is messing with them, they come across the infamous meme of death looking for Gamestop and then they track down Roaring Kitty alongside 893489 CHIMP located in Boston. We then get a message of Prep mode and arm ready for transport, hold pattern until further notice and a message again on a watch saying the same with a Gamestop logo
Speculation: WS looking for DFV and just coming across more memes, not really understanding it. As pointed out by many, 893489 is the hexcode for purple https://www.colorhexa.com/893489 which could be a direct reference to people DRSing. Final message suggests it's a hold until further notice, potentially a gamestop announcement who knows?
8.45am - https://x.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790725065585439065
Description: We have a scene from Ozark where the wife of the money laundering family is alone in her bedroom reflecting to the sound of The Daily Mail by Radiohead. Some Gamestop logos on the wall which i think replace a picture of her family in the original clip. More reflection.
Speculation: Not sure about this one other than the family in Ozark were right on the line of legality when it came to what they were doing, essentially they were money laundering and in the end it cost them their family. SHFs messing with Gamestop to the point of legality could be what costs them their family of investors?
9.00am - https://twitter.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790728848226521547
Description: This is a famous scene from Star Wars where Han Solo takes them through the asteroid field despite C3-PO's cry that the odds are so greatly stacked against them, approximately 3720-1 to be exact! "Never tell me the odds" says Hans Solo. The Song Come Along by Cosmo Sheldrake comes on as the ship navigates it's way through.
Speculation: This play is a high risk play as we all know but DFV doesn't care about the odds, so many people have told him how crazy he is but that doesn't stop him absolutely nailing it. The song has some interesting lyrics to pick a few, "Don't let moments pass along, And waste before your eyes", "We'll be here when the world slows down, And the sunbeams fade away, Keeping time by a pendulum, As the fabric starts to fray" Full lyrics here
9.15am - https://twitter.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790732615022195139
Description: This is taken from The Chappelle Show "when keeping it real goes wrong". In this sketch Kitty replaces a lot of the words to relate to him and the scene ends with Wu-Tang being brought up.
Speculation: Really i think this is just DFV having some fun with this sketch, replacing the woofs for meows, it brings up Wu-Tang as well which was a talking point way back in the NFT marketplace chat.
9.30am - https://x.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790736391124774975
Description: We have a clip of Moon Knight from Fortnite alongside the song Day and Night by Kid Cudi. This is the official fortnite music video.
Speculation: The Moon Knight in fortnite is considered a rare character. In fact the last time the Moon Knight was in the fortnite shop was Nov29, 2023. With that, it's a very valuable and sort after skin. Also worth noting about the Moon Knight, "For a quick run-down: Moon Knight is actually a former mercenary named Marc Spector. One day, when he's left for dead in the desert, the ancient Egyptian moon god Khonsu revives him. Along with a new lease on life, Khonsu gifts Marc with god-like powers to fight evil". Take from that what you will.
9.45am - https://twitter.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790740164848861227
Description: Not 100% sure on the cartoon being shown but the rap is Mr. Niceguy by Will Smith.
Speculation: I don't think DFV is liking the public dissing he is getting from various media outlets but really he doesn't care that much as he can just nail some memes he has lined up like this. If you want the full lyrics to the song, you can find it here
10am - https://twitter.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790743946764644659
Description: This is the epic reveal in fight club and DFV has replaced a lot of the words. In the original scene, if you haven't watched fight club, the main protagonist has put the pieces together to realise that he himself is actually the same person as the other protagonist in the film and it was him alone that accidentally setup a sort of movement against the financial elite. In this clip DFV plays off the two characters between DFV and Roaring Kitty.
Speculation: Roaring Kitty was the twitter handle and Youtube profile for Keith Gill where he would speculate on the stock because he just loved doing it. DFV was the reddit handle where he is associated to that other sub i can't mention here but you know where i mean. I think that DFV is saying that what started as a fun speculation of the stock became something bigger than himself with his other channel in DFV on reddit. Now the wheels have moved and in the film it ends with the financial institutions being blown up, perhaps something similar metaphorically is already in place right now. It's actually a great analogy from DFV about his situation.
10.15am - https://x.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790747714440892825
Description: This is the scene in Breaking Bad where Walter comes clean to his wife Skylar about all the money he has made selling meth. Skylar sees him for who he really is in this scene and really it's the beginning of when Walter begins to really lose himself. There is a funny insert of Methamphetameme and a mention of Caroline who i believe is his wife in real life.
Speculation: I think this is just DFV having some fun and giving an idea of how nuts it probably was for him to talk to his wife about everything that has happened/is happening. I know to us DFV seems like some sort of oracle but to many people he would just seem like some of stock bro who is nuts, even his wife.
10.30am - https://x.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790751492451754012
Description: This is from the oceans 11 film again where the gang are discussing about what they are and how they have come to be. DFV inserts "the Cohen crunch" as what everything could be called and also says "One could make the argument that because it was in fact Cohen joining the board that seemed to kick things off maybe it should be...". DFV then has a big reveal of the reddit user u/ avocado-in-my-anus.
Speculation: Is this all about Ryan Cohen? Is it about DFV? Is it about the Squeeze? Or is it about Avocado in my anus!? - If you follow to that reddit user you will see 3 posts, all on October 29th of each of the last 3 years, all saying Happy Cat Day posted to 3 different subreddits, "never tell me the odds", "next fucking level" and "woah dude". Why is october 29th so significant? See for yourself here
10.45am - https://twitter.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790755264733626879
Description: First we have a clip taken from CNBC where they say "is Roaring Kitty the one running this company?". It then cuts to a classic superbad scene of lots of dicks being drawn.
Speculation: I would imagine CNBC's angle here is that in their opinion Roaring Kitty is the one helping the stock so much with his influence that he might as well be running the company. Judging by the fact we go to a load of dicks after that I don't think DFV agrees with that opinion...
11am - https://x.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790759048985612468
Description: This is taken from The Avengers Endgame and it's where Peter Quill and Thor are told they should fight one another for the honour of the leadership of the Guardians of the Galaxy. They reply they don't want to go against each other and then there is a little humored ambigurity over who is in charge.
Speculation: This could be about DFV and RC. Not 100% which one is which but DFV is saying they are on the same side and respect each other in their view on what is best for Gamestop. DFV conceding he isn't in charge here and sort of plays into the last meme.
11.15am - https://x.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790762813868175516
Description: This is a scene taken from Love Actually and you will most likely recognize Rick from The Walking Dead. In the original clip he is filming his best friend (and it turns out he actually is in love with his best friends wife in this film). It then cuts to some memes of Ryan Cohen and a clip from his stream about updating thesis regularly.
Speculation: I think this is summed up pretty well by u/ starhammer4billion. "In 2021, DFV was mad, that R.C. did not push the button/do the buyback and told us clearly that he did not like R.C. anymore with this meme. Now in 2024, he rewinds that meme and tells us, that he thought that at the time in 2021, but that the investment thesis evolved over time and he now sees R.C. as a supermodel. So basically he saw what R.C. was doing in 2024, which he did not in 2021 and he likes R.C. again now. Probably because R.C. pushed the button and also did some plan with loopholes and stuff that DFV may not have thought about."
11.30am - https://x.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790766591526735887
Description: Here we have a clip from the music video Gossip Folks by Missy Elliot. Some of the lyrics have been replaced by Roaring Kitty. It tells the story of DFV and then there is a ton of emojis that read šŸ˜³šŸ’©šŸ˜æšŸ„œšŸøšŸ¦šŸ¤¢šŸ‘šŸ‘ŠšŸ’€šŸ„øšŸ‘€šŸ¤©āš”ļøšŸŽ®šŸš€šŸ„šŸ’„šŸšŸ¤ØšŸ˜µā€šŸ’«šŸ’œšŸ«‚šŸ‘ŒšŸ¤ā›ŗļøšŸ˜¼šŸŽÆšŸ‘€šŸ¶šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øšŸŽ¤šŸ‘€šŸ”„šŸ’„šŸ»
Speculation: DFV is saying this is going to go down again 3 years later after it all went down last time. The emojis i think tell the story so far too and maybe what's to come. I'll try my best to elaborate - it's really tinfoil but why not.
Edit\* As pointed out by u/ mmilad https://www.reddit.com/Superstonk/comments/1ctc9g2/dfvs_tweet_yesterday_with_emojis_are_all_rcs/ - they emojis do run in a sort of chronological order to a lot of RC's tweets, if you go to his twitter page and scroll through from his first tweet you can begin to tick off the emojis one by one.
11.45am - https://twitter.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790770363627921776
Description: We have a pizza being cut in too more and more slices and dubbed onto the pizza are reddit awards along with DFV's last position update post.
Speculation: The amount of awards that were constantly being given to this post got so out of hand i can't even think how many notifications and reddit coins DFV must have got back in the day. Definitely a joke on DFV's part and just a reminder to how funny it was the amount of awards he was getting.
12pm - https://x.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790774146994966570
Description: This clip is taken from Spiderman i think the one where Spiderman goes dark but i can't remember exactly. The music is The Black Swan taken from Swan lake and it cuts to the movie of Swan Lake with Natalie Portman as the Black Swan and Kitty being dubbed on her face as she transforms.
Speculation: Black swan events are defined as "A black swan is an unpredictable event that is beyond what is normally expected from a situation and that has potentially severe consequences". When GME does squeeze, it's going to have severe and brutal consequences for the market.
12:15pm - https://x.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790777913245421806
Description: First we have Snoop Dogg in his music video for Gin and Juice talking about drama in the GME then we cut to Scarlet Envy saying "is it me, am i the drama", "am i the villain?"
Speculation: Just DFV having fun with all the drama that is being caused through GME, through his memes and everything in a fun light hearted DFV meme of way.
12:30pm - https://x.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790781688848450012
Description: The first clip is taken from Oceans 12 where Ryan is bring the gang back together for an even bigger heist of casinos. Then we have part of the heist where he is stuck waiting in the dining cabinet and cannot escape until they let him out, then we cut to 2 people talking, "waiting", "for what?", "for this". Finally we cut to Batman, i think in the Dark Knight where the Joker is in the hospital and plans to blow it up.
Speculation: Bigger squeeze than last time, band back together, GME holders for the last 3 years could be like the guy in the box just let out in time by DFV, we say "where the fck you been?", he has been waiting, waiting for this.
12.45pm - https://twitter.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790785463118348420
Description: This is taken from The Dark Knight rises where Bane states "it doesn't matter who we are, what matters is our plan", "no one cared who i was until I put on the mask", "was getting caught part of your plan?" "of course"
Speculation: This is taken online about Bane in this movie, "Everything that Bane did was never for himself, not really, we find out his real loyalty later and I think that is a big reason why he said who he is wasnā€™t important. He wasnā€™t there to impress the masses, he was there to execute a plan, to be the playmaker for a person he cared for. He wasnā€™t one who liked distractions and the concern over who he was, I took it as he saw as unimportant to what the plan was itself" DFV doesn't matter, the whole thing is bigger than him now, similar to the fight club tweet reference.
1pm - https://twitter.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790789242513433071
Description: This clip is the big reveal in The Usual Suspects. BIG SPOILER HERE TO THE FILM - The police chief realizes in the film that he has just been completely done by the person who actually committed the crime and he was right there all along in the station . In this clip the drawn sketch of the suspect is replaced with the 'ill do it again' meme.
Speculation: The mug has roaring kitty on it so I wonder if this really is DFV noticing a similar pattern to what is happening with the stock as to what happened before and has made that realization that it's time to come back and this is all on again. HF's digging the same hole for themselves.
1.15pm - https://x.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790793012936851665
Description: This is a clip showing Keith Gill and a narrator saying that investors were looking for someone to blame for losing big on Gamestop. Then it cuts to "shut up bitch" from The Rock in WWF.
Speculation: This is a lol meme and basically DFV saying people invest themselves it's not his problem. People did try to sue him if i remember so it's a bit of a fuck you to them.
1:30pm - https://x.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790796790360363016
Description: This is taken from Seinfeld and is about how George goes so far just to zing a guy. DFV replaces some words and makes this about the previous tweet, some more fun on his part.
Speculation: The episode i believe this takes place is called "The Money" and the episode in which George actually flies out is called "The Comeback", jokes aside that's some interesting references...
1:45pm - https://twitter.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790800562654691686
Description: This is taken from the Saturday Night Live sketch 'old friend'. It's about two old friends reconnecting, DFV expertly chooses this and only has to change the last name of the Keith in the sketch.
Speculation: Everyone thinks DFV is nuts, i mean the guy is posting a lot of memes and taking away my work mornings trying to understand them. Maybe he just loves memes, who knows?
2pm - https://twitter.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790804340673789978
Description: This is a video of beat saber to the song freaks by timmy trumpet and savage. "The bass and the tweeters make the speakers go to war", "the mighty trumpet brings the freaks out to the floor", "where the freaks at?". Big tune and then the vibing cat makes an appearance.
Speculation: Hard to say much about this other than it's a fun song and makes you vibe just like the cat. People are coming to twitter to see his memes and we are all vibing out off of it.
2.15pm - https://x.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790808112741630320
Description: Shows a man being followed around by a man in a suit with a red right hand. I'm not sure what this is taken from but the song is definitely Red Right Hand by Nick Cave and the Bad seeds. For me personally this song is most associated with The Peeky Blinders.
Speculation: The man could be anyone short on GME and the man following him making him scared could be DFV or whatever else is going to pound on those shorts. If you want the lyrics to the song then you can find them here
2.31pm - https://x.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790812277530034448
Description: Shows a bear on a pink recliner with a kitty sneaking in the background.
Speculation: This was a direct response to a Jim Cramer tweet who was essentially poking fun at DFV by saying he should make more memes as it's not working on helping GME. Worth noting that this doesn't look like a scheduled tweet and was probably not planned.
2:45pm - https://x.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790815662203617755
Description: Shows Jim Carrey not 100% which movie it is though i recognize it with a red graph overlayed showing the stock price going down. His smile deteriorates but he seems to have some sort of demented plan in a weird way.
Speculation: Stock might be going down and that might initially take the smile off but the creepy smile at the end shows that it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things, they are going to get it by the end.

Description: This is taken from the Truman show where Jim Carrey plays a character who's whole life is a television show for everyone else to watch. He is unaware of this but starts to become more aware as the film goes on. This particular clip is where he is trying to get to the edge of the world to see behind the curtain and the director is trying to stop him with lightning strikes and storms and whatever else he can throw.
Speculation: They are doing everything they can to keep a lid on GME. Firing as many shots as they can but it's not working. Is this the best they have?

Description: This is a clip from Dunkey's best games of 2017 and here we see a game where it's just boss fight after boss fight and is really fun.
Speculation: This is a game for us, they can hammer down the stock and do what they want but GME holders just keep buying more and moving to the next level

Description: This is taken from Tenet and is about inverted bullets. It talks about being able to drop bullets and bring bullets back up and move bullets without touching them.
Speculation: I certainly don't understand even a little of what is going on with the stock, but you can still have a feel for what is happening with the stock and it feels good right now even with the dip. Could be something to do with inverse hedging but don't know enough about that to speculate.

Description: Firstly we have the Matrix where Neo is about to fight Morpheus and then we have Alice in Wonderland with Alice going down into the rabbit hole. (The rabbit hole is mentioned in the Matrix too when Neo is given the pill option).
Speculation: The scene where Neo fights Morpheus is really the first time we start to see Neo believe in his ability to be the chosen one but also understand the power being able to beat the matrix. With the Alice in Wonderland it's about seeing how far the rabbit hole goes, things will get more crazy for sure and we are going to find out just how deep this goes.
4:00pm - https://x.com/TheRoaringKitty/status/1790834536403574936
Description: Here we have the music video for Karma police by Radiohead. A man is running from a car at a hobble speed and then stops turns around and there is a trail of fuel heading towards the car that has stopped. He pulls out a box of matches from his back pocket and is just before to set the car alight by dropping a lit match on the fuel.
Speculation: Another Radiohead song, you can find the full lyrics here but to pick a line out "this is what you get when you mess with us". Whilst being slowly chased down, there is going to be a flip reverse based on the trail left by the shorts only to blow it all up.

Description: This is taken from the Shawshank redemption where the main protagonist has escaped from the prison after being wrongly imprisoned for many years. DFV has changed some of the narrators (Red) words in showcase his story of being wrongly accused in 2021 and having the flee out of the spotlight. He talks about pressure and time, he presents a lot of memes he has created over the years and then shows a particular screenshot of one of his streams.
Speculation: This tells DFVs story but also has some juicy parts. I think Red in this is a bit like the reddit crew (us) keeping tabs on his story but DFV is saying to escape like him it takes pressure and time (could be gamma squeeze, could be LEAPS, could be DRS, could be holding and buying, could be ALL of it) but all it takes is time and pressure. The memes he posted i wonder if some of those have found their way into various subs over the last 3 years without any of us knowing it came from DFV. The steam he screenshot has been spoken about a lot this morning but it seems to come from one of his youtube streams when GME last broke $30.
Hope you enjoyed these takes.
Love ya DFV

2024.05.16 13:45 Organic-Possession43 Consider this my Formal Complaint Regarding Lenovo Legion Y740 Service Experience

I do not know if you have the patience to read this review as it is over 1800 words, but I have tried my best to write it in a narrative of how the events happened. I just had to express how bad and sad I feel about this whole experience. Please do read it and help me find a solution.
I have a Lenovo Legion y740 I7 processor and RTX 2060 that I saved up for 3 years and bought for 150000 Rs in May 2020. I treated my laptop with all the love in the world, learning about all the laptop etiquette that is required to operate such a powerful machine. The laptop ran most games beautifully and I enjoyed every moment with it. I traded stocks, did my data analysis for my job, and kept a detailed plan for my future studies on my laptop. For around 4 years, all was good...
Untilā€¦
On Feb 1st, 2024, my laptop would not turn on and the next day (Feb 2nd) I rushed it to this Lenovo service center. I explained the problem and the first thing I was asked was if it was under warranty. It was not under warranty.
They explained that there could be an issue with the motherboard, and they would get back to me soon. So, I waited and waited and waited. There was no response. So I called them on Feb 5th, 2024, and asked them about my laptop, they asked me for another day, and then on 6thFeb, I got an Email (Screenshot attached), saying that I had two options, one was to get the motherboard replaced( which they told me would cost me about 60000 Rs) The other one is more interesting and cost-effective, it was the chip level repair option where they would replace the chip and ( as estimated in the email) would cost 5000rs to 7000rs and would take 25 to 35 days( remember this, it is important for whatā€™s coming). I gave a thumbs up for the chip level repair on 6th Feb 2024.
On 26th March 2024, I sent them an email(screenshot attached) asking about the status as it had been over 50 days since I had given them my laptop. On 27th March 2024, they responded saying it is still under repair and the lab team has not responded to them, and that theyā€™ll get back to me in a few days. I requested them to keep me updated in the process, and they said ā€œNotedā€ (remember this, it too is important).
On 1st April 2024 (over 60 days now) I called them to enquire, and they gave me complete technical jargon about why the repairs were late, thinking I would not understand it, but guess what, I did understand it and realized that they are, for some reason, the people at their ā€œLabā€ where not able to find out why my laptop was not turning on.
On 2nd April, This is when I sent them a strongly worded mail. (screenshot attached). Expressing how they have wasted my time of 60 days and how I want a fully functional laptop and I am not willing to pay anything currently.
They did not respond to this email. So, I called them and they explained that there was something wrong with the CPU and that I must prepay for the part to be delivered to the center. It had been over 60 days, so I agreed to this repair.
After another Email exchange where I request the quotation of the price. On 4th April 2024, they sent me a quotation of 20284 Rs (Screenshot attached) and asked for another 4 to 6 weeks. I promptly make the payment, explain to them itā€™s my hard-earned money and do the repairs promptly.
Fast forward to 22nd April 2024, when I asked for an update, they replied saying it is still under observation in the lab.
On 29th, 30th April, and 2nd May, I sent three emails asking for an update about my laptop, but there was no response(please keep in mind that ā€˜notedā€™ part they said about updating me). On 3rd May, I got an email saying my laptop was not functional (screenshot attached), I called them, (By now it has been over 90 days), over a 23-minute call (I have all the calls recorded) ā€¦
They told me my laptop was still not functional and that I should take the refund of the 20284 Rs and collect the laptop and it is best if I just go. I donā€™t want that, my 90-plus days have value. My time and mental health have value!!! The anguish and anxiety I went through have to mean something, there has to be some result to my 90 days!!!
On that day, I rushed to the service center and had a word with the management where I clearly and strongly expressed my worries, concerns, and anger with the management and how they have caused me over 90 days of absolute mental anguish (this conversation took over an hour and a half). They blamed the lab, the engineer, parts delivery, and many more things when I confronted them.
Letā€™s get one thing clear, as a consumer who has paid 150000 Rs for the laptop and 20284 Rs for the part and repairs, do I have to understand the internal workings of a service center? Should I go talk to the engineer parts delivery personnel or the lab? Or should I as a consumer hold the service centre accountable for all the loss of time and money? Are the internal workings of a service center my problem? Iā€™d say no, itā€™s not, so I do not want to hear why it is late, because whatever the reason is, it is not my problem. My time, effort, and money have been wasted.
After bantering for a long time, I simply requested a fully functional laptop or refund of 20284 and compensation for the 90+ days they wasted mine. For this, they asked for time till May 11th, 2024, to which I agreed, and asked them to not expect me to pay anything.
On 11th May 2024, AFTER OVER 100 DAYS, I got a call from the engineer saying my laptop works and asked for the password to check the functionality!!! Hurray !!! I leaped in joy and rushed to the service center. I sat down they turned on the laptop, I put in my password and the screen opened.
BUTā€¦ā€¦ā€¦
As the laptop settled in, the fan speed increased and there was a rough noise from the fan, like the fan was rubbing against something as it turned, the sound was so loud that even the sound from the laptop speakers could not subdue it. I raised an issue immediately.
The facts ā€“ 1. They had my laptop for over 100 days.
  1. The fan has an issue that was not present before I gave them the laptop.
So, I asked them to fix it, to which they surprisingly agreed. For the sake of documentation, I sent them an Email alerting them of the situation.
Ohh but itā€™s not over yetā€¦.
On 13th May 2024,
They sent an Email (screenshot attached) saying it was fixed and that I could collect it. So
So, on the 14th of May 2024, I am going to pick up my beloved laptop from the center. I carefully inspect it as per their instruction on their bulletin board AND I FOUND ANOTHER ISSUE. This time, when I used discrete graphics instead of switchable ones, MY SCREEN WOULD BE VERY DIM until connected to an external display and this was unacceptable after they claimed full functionality.
They took my laptop in for another inspection, and after 1 and a half hours, they came out saying it worked well on their testing SSD and suggested that I back up my data (which I did at that moment) and allow them a day to factory reset my laptop. For which I agreed, and they offered to deliver it to the next day. The laptop works fine except for this software issue and I was in high hopes that it would be delivered fine.
The next day, 15th May 2024, I got an email saying my laptop was to be delivered to my workplace, which is only 20 minutes away from the service center. And I get a call and go pick up my laptop around 1:40 pm. I let it rest at my desk and around 4: 45pm, after all my meetings, I open my laptop.
AND GUESS WHAT FOLKSā€¦.
The moment I opened the laptop I found that the hinge was damaged, the laptop had not been reassembled properly, the sides were loose, and the hinge was damaged to the point where the display on the right side of the laptop was ā€¦POPPING OUT.
My blood boiled, I immediately called the service center and told them about this, but they responded very insensitively. I rushed my laptop to the service center.
On the verge of tears, I explained everything, and the manager Rashid Khan, and Engineer Prasad Reddy were just saying the same thing over and over again- about how they deliver many laptops every day and most have never had such an issue. They need time till Friday 17th May 2024 to give me a course of action for this issue, about how they need to check the CCTVs at their service center to see if this was caused by the internal team.
But here are the facts,
My laptop has been in the care of the service center for over 100 days.
On 15th May 2024, it was delivered at around 1:40 pm.
On 15th May 2024, at around 4:45 pm when I opened it, I found that the hinge and display were damaged.
I reluctantly agreed and sent them an email to keep things documented.
Now I sit and write this with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes. I do not want to be experiencing this. I just want my laptop back in a fully functional condition.
Here are what mistakes the Service center made according to me :
  1. They asked for 25 to 35 days and did not inform me until I emailed them 50 days later.
  2. There was absolutely no communication from their side about my laptopā€™s condition even after they ā€˜Notedā€™ my request. They kept me on hold for a long time or simply did not respond to my calls.
  3. If they had not diagnosed the problem by day 35, they should have informed me and I would have taken it elsewhere, it is because they are the official Lenovo service center that I trusted them in the first place.
  4. Even after repairs, they did not check ā€˜Full functionalityā€™ and yet claimed the laptop was okay.
  5. I had to go to the center and diagnose my laptop because they kept overseeing everything.

2024.05.16 13:08 Bonniegamer202 Juggernog mini fridge

Hello I recently bought a juggernog mini fridge and the lights and sound will not work. I've tracked the issue down to them just being busted and was wondering if anyone knew where I could get replacement parts for the LEDs and speaker?

2024.05.16 13:02 saurabh_17 Replacing Bose Lifestyle V35 Control Console

Hi everyone,
I have a Bose Lifestyle V35 system installed in my home, but unfortunately, the control console has stopped working. I would still like to use the Jewel speakers and the woofer from the system.
Can anyone recommend replacement alternatives for the control console?
I'm located in India, so suggestions available here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

2024.05.16 12:59 RichFaithlessness930 New here (NA)

New here (NA)
Have a 91 (according to vin) NA with about 230thousand miles. Itā€™s in rough ish shape but Iā€™ve slowly been fixing her up. Currently Iā€™ve replaced -starter -alternator -water pump -headlight motors -wheels -soft top + rain rail -tail lights+ dlrs -clutch -clutch master cylinder -coolant lines -back deck plate -driver side door seal and outside weather strip Iā€™ve removed the A/C(bad idea Iā€™m now realizing). The engine has been taken apart and cleaned and resealed but looks like I screwed on the rear mainseal and shouldā€™ve gotten OEM instead of timken. The exterior body panels need replacing but Iā€™m looking at Carbon miata for those. And interior I need seats which I know a guy who can reupholster them and wire up the speakers in them. And the door cards need replacing also looking at carbon miata for em. Anyways just wanted to introduce my yata named Maxine. Hope to learn a lot from everyone here!

2024.05.16 12:50 wisperingdeth I'm a returning SD owner!

I owned one of the original SD when they first released. Sold it because it was my only gaming device and it just wasn't powerful enough for some AAA games to look their best. Bought a ROG Ally - my word that was a mistake!! Sd card reader broke and corrupted my 1TB card. Curry's replaced the device. Weeks later, my right stick had really bad drift (so the Windows cursor was constantly moving to the left) - couldn't play a thing. I decided to replace it myself, buying a couple of sticks from eBay. Replacement was fine, but a little wobbly. In the end, I still felt it wasn't powerful enough for some games, and I didn't want to keep messing around replacing sticks, plus also I wasn't entirely happy with the screen size and large black bezels. I sold it and bought a Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop. Absolutely awesome! I can play most games on maximum settings at 1080p no problem. The only thing is having to get my lap tray out to put it on, and have this large heavy laptop in front of me every time I want to play something.
Soooo, back to looking at Handheld PC's again lol. This time it's different though - I'm keeping the gaming laptop. So now, all I'm looking for is something to play the majority of my games on the go, at work, on the toilet etc. And the pressure will be off that device to show games at their absolute best because I'll still play on my laptop.
The ROG Ally is out straight away - not giving that another chance. The Ally X has been announced, but the screen will be the same, and I didn't like the thick black bezels top and bottom, and I always wished the screen took up more of the device face than that. The Legion Go looks WAY too large, reportedly heavy, huge fan noise, and terrible speakers. No thanks. The MSI Claw - well... you might laugh at that device, but it's reportedly doing much better performance-wise these days according to owners. Good design, hall effect sticks, great speakers. Only trouble is it's the same screen as the Ally with large black bezels top and bottom. Plus also the price is ridiculous at Ā£800.
So.... now I've come full circle, played my mates' SD for a couple of days, and bought myself a 1TB OLED SD, due to arrive next week. I'm so looking forward to that large (but not TOO large) OLED screen with minimal bezels, and most of the games I play work fine on SD. I couldn't believe how well Cyberpunk runs on it now! Holy heck!! And then there's Geforce Now, coming to the rescue for games that aren't compatible - COD, Destiny 2, and more. Plus it's a great way to play the games that are compatible without having to install them, and possibly getting even better performance. Playing just like they're installed locally thanks to being on great internet speeds. And it was so easy to install thanks to Nvidia's new downloadable program specifically to install on Steam Decks. Brilliant.
It was a no brainer for me. I'm looking forward to being part of the family again :-)
TLDR: Sold my SD a while ago for an Ally. Had issues, sold for gaming laptop. Now keeping the laptop but missing handheld gaming, so after researching all the competition, buying a SD OLED and can't wait!

2024.05.16 12:14 IceIndividual3919 Help!! I canā€™t decide between Pro 2024, Air 2024, Pro 6th Gen and Pro 5th Gen

Iā€™ve never had an iPad I just got myself an iPad Pro 13ā€ 2024 with the keyboard and pencil pro, and I quickly realized that itā€™s a waste of money. Given that Iā€™d gotten it for notes, surfing the internet etc and ultimately wonā€™t use it to its full potential. I am therefore unable to justify the cost for something that i can only use to supplement my personal computer not to replace it. Iā€™m now trying to figure out what my options are, and I would really appreciate some opinions.
Right now im considering getting: 1. the 13 iPad Air 2024 given that it has an M2 chip. But Iā€™m put off by the lack of Face ID and the sound (microphones and speakers). But Iā€™m happy that it supports pencil pro
  1. The 6th Gen iPad Pro which also has an M2 processor but it retails at C$1499 which is only C$300 less than the iPad I got so Iā€™m having trouble justifying that too because at least with my current one I get the new pencil and keyboard
  2. The 5th Gen IPad Pro which id likely have to get the refurbished version of which Iā€™m not 100% on. Plus it has an M1 chip which is lower than the 2024 Air M2 chip.
I would really appreciate all your opinions. Thank you!!
