1.What is the Porous Carbon Material?
Porous carbon material refers to a solid material with carbon as the main skeleton, with pore structures of different sizes and high specific surface area.

According to the classification of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), porous carbon materials can be divided into microporous materials (d<2nm), mesoporous materials (2nm50nm) according to pore size. According to structural characteristics, they can be divided into disordered porous carbon materials and ordered porous carbon materials.

The pore structure of carbon materials prepared by traditional activation methods is mostly microporous, which can only adsorb small molecular substances, and has poor adsorption effect on some molecules with larger diameters. Mesoporous carbon materials have very good performance in this regard.
At the same time, mesoporous carbon materials also have very important applications in the field of electrochemistry. The preparation of mesoporous carbon microspheres with high specific surface area, large pore volume, and narrow pore size distribution as electrode materials can improve the specific capacity, rate performance and performance of capacitors.

2.The Relationship between Porous Carbon Materials and Supercapacitors

The most commonly used electrode materials for supercapacitors are various forms of carbon, such as activated carbon (AC), carbon fiber cloth (AFC), carbide-derived carbon (CDC), carbon aerogels, graphane, and carbon nanoparticles tube (CNT).
Carbon-based electrodes mainly exhibit electrostatic double-layer capacitance, and pseudocapacitance may also occur under different pore sizes. Pore diameters range from micropores (<2nm) to mesopores (2~50nm), and only micropores can produce pseudocapacitance. When the pore size approaches the size of the dissolved shell, the solvent molecules are excluded, and only undissolved ions fill the pores, increasing the ion packing density and storage capacity through the Faraday hydrogen gas interlayer.

2.1 Activated Carbon

Activated carbon was the first material used in EDLC electrodes. Although its conductivity is only about 0.3 ten thousandths of that of metal (1,250~2,000 S/m), it is enough for supercapacitors.
Activated carbon is an extremely porous carbon with a very high specific surface area - one gram of activated carbon has a surface area of about 1,000 to 3,000 square meters, which is about the size of 4 to 12 tennis courts. 2.2 Activated Carbon Fiber

Activated carbon fibers (ACF) are made from activated carbon and have a typical diameter of 10 µm. They can have micropores with very uniform pore sizes that can be easily controlled. The surface area of textiles made from ACF is approximately 2500 m2/g. The ACF electrode has low resistance along the fiber axis and makes good contact with the collector.
As far as activated carbon is concerned, the ACF electrode mainly exhibits double electric layer capacitance, and also has a small amount of pseudocapacitance due to micropores.

3. Factors affecting the capacitance performance of porous carbon-based supercapacitors

Porous carbon is a key material for next-generation electrochemical energy storage systems, including batteries and supercapacitors. This is due to the inherent advantages of porous carbon, with high electrical conductivity, chemical/electrochemical/thermal resistance, easy surface functionalization, and high specific surface area.
Factors affecting the capacitance performance of porous carbon-based supercapacitors include specific surface area, pore structure, surface chemical state, carbon structural defects, heteroatom doping, and electrode structure design.

A high specific surface area is beneficial to improving the capacitive performance of porous carbon, but there is no strict linear relationship between its specific surface area and normalized capacitance. Generally, the specific capacity of porous carbon is optimal when the pore size matches the size of the desolvated ions (or bare ions).
Because micropores can provide abundant chemically active sites for ion storage, mesopores can serve as channels for ion migration and transmission, and macropores can serve as ion buffer spaces, hierarchical porous carbons with appropriate proportions of micro/meso/macropores will have Excellent capacitive performance.

God is often translated to "he" or "who" in most modern translations. This is because in some Greek manuscripts the word God / Theós (θεος) in Greek capitals (θEOC), being a ‘sacred word’, was sometimes contracted to:

1. θC with a line above it, or
2. OC, without the line in the O, and without the line above the word, or
3. O

This is a Jewish practice due to their reverence to the word “God”. Jews nowadays still write “God” as “G-d”. The problem is, the contracted words are similar with other Greek words:

1. OC is a nominative singular masculine pronoun: “who”, “whom”, or “he”
2. O means “which”

Dr. Graham G. Thomason has done a thorough analysis of most Greek MSS’ reading on 1 Timothy 3:16. He tabulated his findings in a spreadsheet. Here are the counts of the various readings:

1. God (θEOC or θεος): 563 MSS.
2. God who (ο θεος or ος θεος): 9 MSS
3. Which (O): 1 MSS (GA 06)
4. He (OC or ος): 7 MSS -> GA 01 / Codex Sinaiticus (4th century), GA 33 (9th-11th century), GA 1175 (11th century), GA 463 (12th century), GA 365 (13th century), GA 442 (13th century).
5. Ambiguous: 5 MSS
6. Lacuna (missing pages): 96 MSS
7. Illegible: 5 MSS
8. Cannot find scanned images: 53 MSS
9. Unidentified: 3 MSS

We see that the reading for OC or ος are mostly late MSS, with Codex Sinaiticus being the only early MSS. But Sinaiticus is known to be a low-quality manuscript since it is a rejected MSS that did not pass quality assurance and was treated as a cache. Why should Codex Sinaiticus be favored against all other Greek MSS? Dr. Bruce Metzger's claim:

"no uncial (in the first hand) earlier than the eighth or ninth century [...] supports θεος; all ancient versions presuppose ὃς or ὃ"

is incorrect, because there are 2 uncials from the 5th century (Alexandrinus and Ephraemi) that support θεος (God), but there's only 1 uncial (Sinaiticus) that support ος (He).

Dr. Thomason also lists Lectionaries and non-Greek MSS favoring θEOC (God) in 1 Tim 3:16:

1. Lectionaries: Apost 2, 52, 69, 5, 7, 11, 22, 23, 25, 30, 33, 13, 14, 18, 38, 49, 45, 46, 51, 57, 62, 65, 58, 77, 82, 84, 89, 119, 123, 125, 128. Total is 31.
2. Non-Greek MSS: Harkleian Syriac (616 AD), Georgian (5th/6th century), Slavonic (9th century)

He also lists Church Fathers who quoted “God (θEOC) was manifested in the flesh” starting from 1st century to 12th century AD, and noted that no Church Fathers supported the reading “He (OC) was manifested in the flesh”. Therefore, Dr. Metzger's claim that "no patristic writer prior to the last third of the fourth century testifies to the reading of θεος" is incorrect.

• The reading for θEOC (God) is overwhelming: 11 uncials (versus 1 of the critics, ℵ), the vast majority (over 98½%) of minuscules, 31 lectionaries, 3 early versions, and a great number of Church Fathers, including many of earlier date than any manuscripts we have.
• In contrast, the reading for OC (he) is hopeless: just 1 uncial, just 6 minuscules, 3 lectionaries, 1 early version (the Gothic, which poses some doubts also), and few, if any Church Fathers.
