I'm trying to purchase a subscription for a game, namely Old School Runescape, through Google Play Store. All it says is that I do not have enough funds for the purchase, but usually it will let me spend whatever funds I have and the remainder with a credit card. Not this time though.
I also can't add funds directly through the play store app, nor can I purchase any online gift cards to redeem, as its only available for an very small and obscure selection of countries such as Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Mexico. PayPal vouchers only applies to US and Europe gift cards only applies to a selection of euro countries.
Living in Denmark, where things such as these usually are in no way so limited, I'm wondering if Google Play is just an extremely crappy platform or if there's something I'm missing here???
My last hope is to actually go to physical stores and see if they have Google play gift cards lying around, but I feel like I haven't seen those in years anywhere. Maybe I have a fellow dane here, who can shed some light on this very niche issue?

So I have a little story for all of you when I was a kid I played a game called RuneScape I sold the virtual currency in the game and kept getting charged back on PayPal so I decided to find an alternative to prevent that I found bitcoin and it changed my life currently been holding for over 8 years sold some to a Btc atm a while back but held most of it now I’m in a big of a predicament as I don’t know how to go about cashing it out when it goes up how do I tell Uncle Sam how I obtained it everyone told me I was dumb for holding it all these years but as a kid i understood the simplicity and benefits of this currency across all financial categories

Yesterday my Jagex account was stolen due to negligence on my part. It was the lack of 2fa on my email account (Outlook), mixed with some "hacking" by someone. We found some very suspicious entity that literally had every permission possible, available to it on my Microsoft account. I immidiately locked everything down with 2fa... a little late I know.
Thankfully my significant other is extremely resourcesful and tech-literate, and she was able to help me sort things out while I was in the middle of work panicking. It was not only my Jagex account being stolen, but it was getting calls from Amex and PayPal because someone is buying their whole family a Shadow on my tab. Sweet. They attempted to spend ~$1200, and were probably successful with $880.00. They were able to block all my cards affected and returned the funds nearly the instant it occurred.
They also tried to ravage everything else they could. Epic Account. Blizz Account. LinkedIn for whatever reason. I was thankfully able to recover those as they all had text/phone recovery. Blizz even had phone login which is what saved me on that one. Otherwise that would have all been gone too.
It seems to me whoever took over these accounts, including my RS accounts, did not want them for their own use, but rather to rack up as they could, in as many different online games as they could so that they could mule it and sell it as through RMT.
The steps I've taken so far:
I reached out through customer support yesterday afternoon. No answer.
I also reached out on twitter to Jagex Support and they responded advising to put a support claim. I responded saying that i did and shared my reference number in the reply, and asked if it could be escalated. No response yet.
I made a post on reddit due to being desperate, against my better judgement. Obviously, there was no help provided, but simply meme-d on as expected.
In my initial post I said i had set up an authenticator, but I was wrong. I had only set up email 2fa, so the only advice I was given was to find the backup codes... but I now realize I wouldn't even have that.
Today as soon as I got home from work I remembered I had linked one of my characters to my steam, and tried logging in through there. I was able to log in without issue on my character "The EMF". It is one of the three characters linked to my stolen account.
Once logged in, I am able to click the "view inbox" button and it takes me to the settings page for my character. Here I am not able to do anything that helps me as far as I can see. I am able to view the accounts that my character is linked to (facebook and steam), but nothing else. It also gives me the option for jagex account management from there, but it asks me to log into my Jagex account... which i no longer have access to.

Another weird thing is that I am completely unable to open up any store pages whatsoever. It pulls up the Steam browser and then tries loading for several minutes before it just fails.

I feel like I am being taunted by Jagex and the person that hijacked my email and RS accounts at this point. I have access to my character, but not my account. Is there anything I can do? Everyone just repeats the same thing. "THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO"... Even when I'm this damn close to the end? Really?
I just lost three accounts in one fell swoop. Thousands and thousands of hours. 20+ year old account. Gone... But i can still log in through steam...
Anyway. I'm an idiot and paid the price. FML

Update: Amazingly a mod came across this and was able to look into it for me. Unfortunately, they still say I will forever have this vestige of what once was "my" account. The person turned on the authenticator and ruined any chances of recovery
I guess I'll go now and try to pretend i havent played runescape all my life and that all of that is gone forever due to being a moron.

OSRS (oldschool runescape) is all I play all day and Balatro seems like it will make me happy while I have nothing to do.
I feel absolutely miserable. I finally got the bravery to come out to my family for so long and made an appointment for planned parenthood to get the medications I need so I can take everything and don't have to inject something made in someones bathtub. They changed their mind though and I have no way to get there and no way to pay for it anymore. I don't know what I'm going to do. I feel paralyzed. I just want to be happy and stop my life from falling apart. I've made so many mistakes and have made things such worse because I thought they'd never be good again, but then I realized I'm not getting younger and I'd rather be dead. I was on HRT for a while but I ended up going through an awful experience where I was physically and mentally tortured for around 10 days, maybe longer, idk. When I got back my estrogen was thrown away and I have felt absolutely terrible since then two years ago. All I've done is laid in bed until recently and I finally got the courage to ask and I got shot down. I swear I'm not a bad person. I don't know why they can't just accept me. I just want to be happy. It feels like this life is designed to torment me and I'm not even real sometimes. I have an underdeveloped brain, I have so many issues that just cripple me and the one thing that brings me some fragment of hope I can't even have. I feel like I'm running out of time. I get all of this positivity and courage after laying in bed 23 hours a day for 2 years and it gets shot down instantly. Why. why why why why why why why why why why I hate this so much. I do everything I can to help others even if it's not much and it feels like I'm being punished for not being a bad person. I hate this so much. I hate this so much. Coming so high just to fall back down.

I can't even use my email to log in or choose "Forgot My Password" as it just bugs out but got lucky reaching chat customer support with no account, lucky isn't the right word tho.
An account was made about 15 years ago when I was a kid in middle school using my primary email that I currently use for everything.
I received an email from PayPal few months ago (the only one I ever found in my inbox) that listed the account name as someone else.
I recognized the name as a neighbor I had all those years ago and we probably must've playing around with a pre-paid debit card he had to buy a game membership, RuneScape I'm betting haha
Chat customer support asks for the address, which would've been a fake random one because PayPal didn't exist in our country yet! But it does now, hence why I'm trying to use my main email address to create an account!
Chat told me they can't help me any further and contact my friend, who definitely doesn't remember an address, I asked..
Would a phone call to support might help me out with? I'm asking because the intenational phone call costs for customer support is gonna be, just bad if I don't get access to my account in the end!

I'm sure like a lot of, I too took a break from playing in middle/school for many years. Then one day decided to return, but had no idea my old password or any sort of thing. I have played games where if that is the case, you start over and crack open the wallet. Guild Wars support can sometimes take some time, but they really do work with you to ensure it is your account with as much as they can provide with what you can manage to find as evidence. Lately it seems there has been an issue with 2FA requirements being required to be used when they were never before. I'm not sure if this is part of a strategy of tracking or involved with the update regarding bots and RA. I can only say do not blame ANET for trying if indeed it was intentional. I also know from myself and my ISP that they have been changing the local IPs here randomly a lot. I talked to a few friends in tech that work from home around the country that house servers and such. For some odd reason their companies have been doing the same. Coincidence? I have no idea. For all I know it may be the emergency benefit the US government was giving 30$ a month to households that qualified for it to spend on either internet or a cellphone plan. With that coming to an end, I can only wonder if the companies are already reassigning and changing IPs or something. I'm not the biggest tech guy, so I am only speculating.
I only know that change on my end triggered my online banking, paypal, guild wars, and such all at once to no longer consider my device trusted and had to do 2FA tests on each and every one of them. In my situation, I just consider it odd timing as others here were wondering about the 2FA. Linked or not who knows.
All I suggest to anyone locked out of their accounts that cannot login to "submit a ticket" under their account via browser to follow the instructions and send them an email via their support email address that doesn't require actual login. Look over the bulleted points and gather all the data and neatly present it to the human that will have to review it. That includes, the email to the account, information about purchases and the last 4 digits of the cards used, character name etc. They will migrate your 2FA to an email that can be used to get over this hump so it will only take a few seconds to use an email fa code sent. I'm not myself back into my account yet, but I'm on the last portion required with my back and forth with support. Expect to take a few days to a week to login again, but do your part - and they will do theirs. Always keep in mind to be kind, and just stick to what is needed. The game is free for you at this point, and in theory they owe you nothing. Be grateful the support has been so well structured and trained to this day.
There is other praise to toss around, but support never seems to get enough love despite them being legit some of the best I've encountered in gaming. Compare that to say, runescape lol.

Hey all, just getting back into 40K after over a decade off, and I dug out my old mini bin and have a bunch of old Lord of the Rings minis that I don’t have a use for, so hopefully someone here does.

All these minis are original Games Workshop minis, mostly purchased online through GW directly, or through a local game store (the few metal bois). I tried painting a fair few of them, I never used primer and used my mom’s cheap acrylics, so they should strip very easily (note: I used to base coat some all black, but it’s acrylic paint not primer). The 10 space marines I had took about 5 minutes in IPA and were clean. I’d say less than 50% are painted.
A fair few are broken, mostly spears and swords. All parts should still be in the bin they are in, I will thoroughly clean the bin and include all parts if shipping or trading. The Mumakil is missing one tusk and the top of the basket came detached but is in the box with a sprue of basket parts I never assembled. Also there’s a good chance one or two models are missing, I’d let friends paint and keep them, only happened 3 or so times, I only know of one Dwarf and one Uruk missing, I think the last was a man of Numenor, possibly an elf as well. I also ‘converted’ one or two models (gave a rohirrim a ‘salvaged’ Uruk shield, tried to make a Gondorian look like my RuneScape character, etc) but nothing crazy. I was a kid.
Here’s what I could find in there, I could be little off in the naming, also please excuse spelling errors:

-Sets:
Siege of Gondor box- It has a full squad of Gondorian Archers and Swordsmen, a few spearmen as well I believe, and a matching orc force
Riders of Rohan- A squad of Rohirrim on horses, this set is the most damaged, only half painted. A few broken horse ankles and spears, 6-8 in total
2nd age Elf Squad- Archers and Swordsmen
2nd age Men of Numenor squad- smaller squad of swordsmen, a few still on sprue
Elrond- second age version to match elf squad
Uruk squad- from battle of helms deep, lots of swordsmen and a few pike carriers, some pikes are broken
Uruk standard bearer- metal solo
Gondor rangers- one of Faramirs Rangers squads, metal blister pack
Dwarf Warriors- was a squad of 5, down to 4, one of them may be a dwarf lord or a character, I can’t remember. All metal, one with broken axe, which I still have
Uruk archers- metal blister pack, Lurtz’ boys, I thought one of them was Lurtz but again, can’t remember
Mumakil box set- Mumakil partially assembled, base painted poorly, squad of Haradrim (I think that’s their name? Elephant riders) included
That’s what I’ve got, again there’s random damage and paint here and there, but all should be salvageable.
-What I’m looking for?
First off I’d prefer to sell/trade this as a lot, but for the right offer I would consider parting it out. I really have no idea what these guys are worth anymore so make me an offer.
I’m getting back into 40K, and I’m working on a chaos space marine army and a Black Templars army. As such any of their models or any Primaris space marines would be considered for a trade.

Haven’t used RuneScape for a fair bit of time. Got an email saying my email had been changed and they have used my PayPal to buy bonds. I’ve since changed the password but do I contact RuneScape, PayPal or my bank (or all of them) in regards to the purchase? Cheers

Basically, my email address was hacked, and I no longer have access to it. I've managed to change my email address with my bank, social media accounts, other games, etc. Albion support, however, isn't as helpful.
Apparently, the ONLY way I can prove ownership of my account, is to provide PayPal transaction I.Ds, from a PayPal account I no longer have access to, as the email address associated with it has been hacked. I tried to explain this to support and received the response "we are very strict on account security" and that there was NO other way I could prove I owned my account.
So basically, unless you've actually purchased something from Albion Online, there's no way to prove you actually own the account. I even offered to provide my physical I.d to prove I am who I say I am and show them me logging into the account, but apparently, that's not good enough.
Oh well, it's been fun, I suppose. See you all on Runescape or something (since they changed my email address, no problem)

THE PANTHER PIZZA ::: 2 Troy Ounces of .999 Fine Silver that has been poured and designed in such a way as to make it possible to break it into individual 1/4 ounce slices! The full pie measures 55mm wide (a little over 2 inches) and is juuuust over 2 troy ounces. I have ANNEALED it in my kiln to make it easier to break, but it is still plenty sturdy enough to be handled. You won't accidentally break this one, unlike SOME breakable bars I've encountered. This is a beautiful display piece, too! Really fun! These are designed to fit in Airtite Y-55's with the black ring!

ONE OF A KIND - Enameled Hylian Shield in .999 Fine Silver

FRONT - BACK
I made an all new pattern, specifically to do an enamel version of the Hylian shield. I spent every bit of an hour painstakingly applying enamel and making this thing absolutely BEAUTIFUL. It was glorious. I put it in the furnace, fired it, and then dropped it while removing it from the furnace. It set fire to the box it landed on so I flipped it to what I thought was the floor, but actually it went into my quench bucket and exploded all the enamel. I am so mad I will not be attempting another one of these. ONE OF A KIND. $80.00. Will include a 1 of 1 Certificate of Authenticity. This was supposed to be the star of the evening. LOL. >:( SOLD

This is going to be a long one, and I am not looking for sympathy, but rather hoping it might be a word of warning if anyone ends up making the same mistakes.
2019:
I, as many others got sucked into the Duel Arena when it was at it's peak - with the ups and downs that came with it.
Unfortunately, after winning big and deciding I am became I high roller, I went in big and lost it all. Most of you know where the story goes but hear me out.
I decided to look into purchasing OSRS gold to compensate for my losses and continue my gambling at the arena. The process itself felt very wrong from the get go, with shady websites and a less than impressive customer service representative.
I looked into the payment solution they were using and decided that it seemed legitimate enough, as modern banking systems have several blocking systems to compensate for scammers these days.
I went ahead and completed my purchase and headed back to the duel arena, winning big but ultimately loosing again.
Roughly 3 weeks later, I received a 1 or 2 day ban for RWT and thought to myself that "this was no big deal" and "its only for a couple of days", but after pondering it over, I realized I had a serious problem and decided it was time to stop playing.

I returned to the game one a few occasions only to discover my password was wrong, at this time I had been very fortunate IRL becoming engaged to a beautiful girl and getting a well paying full time job, so I did not follow it up further - as life had other ways of keeping me entertained ( also, Warzone..)
Ultimately, my fiancee and I moved to Switzerland for work in August of 2022.
March 2 - 2023: ( This is where it went bad)
I came from work to a message from my bank, where a series of charges were identified as originating from another country than where I reside. The bank informed me that these charges dated back a since 2020 and regularly occurred in very small numbers until now ( yes, it was a series of bonds and 1 month memberships to Jagex, idiotic by me - I just thought I kept an ongoing subscription, while the bonds purchases was not uncovered until later as they require manual "buys" which would have made me suspicious).
The coming day, there was a series of charges accumulating roughly 4000 EUROs to different Chinese paypal accounts, with IDs dating back to different gold selling sites within Runescape, OSRS and other MMOs.
I decided to involve a "digital detective" on the matter, due to the sheer amount of charges that had occurred over time. His investigation in to the matter discovered that my credit card was not the only thing that had been compromised - my email that was related to the OSRS account and a series of other online accounts that I had not utilized in a while, such as OSRS.
Being preoccupied with disputing the false credit card claims, I decided to leave the rest to its own as I had no interest playing the game, and the email was primarily used for the game.
My word of warning goes out to other people that might have gone done the same path as me, buying gold one time or many. Please, do check your credit card history - you might be in the same boat as me.
In my case I used it once, and ended up in this situation - and I can only imagine other people that frequent these sites.
Thu, March 23 2023 : ( Yet another sad end to the story )
Having not played OSRS for a while, a college of mine got to talking about picking the game up again.
I was still pretty struck after this whole deal but decided I would give it a go, and even buy paysafe cards to become a member. I felt confident and a rush returning to the game, knowing my weakness for games of chances was gone when the duel arena was removed.
I went through the process of recovering my account, and after a few tries finally succeeding. Obviously, my account was compromised and most likely sold through the site responsible for the massive credit card charge, and with little care the perpetrator(s) managed to get a few more bans on the account leading to a permanent ban.
I requested my information/data points from Jagex, only to reveal a login location in the northern part of Europe, over a long series of time.
Unfortunately, as we know our friends over at Jagex Support - they are unwilling to assist me in this case, probably as I had been a previous "first time offender" of it back in 2019.
If you read this far, thank you - I just had a new to vent out my story, and figured Reddit would be a perfect place.
Some of you might find joy in commenting "Good riddance", "Of course you got scammed" - try to remember that an affliction for gambling might lead down a dark path, where you don't consider every outcome - especially not 3 years later, like a ticking time bomb containing your credit card information.
And Jagex, if you might find it in your heart - I am able to provide a copy of the police report, and a proof pertaining to me never being associated with the IP address you guys provided in the report from the DPO. It was a big thing for me back then to reach 1750 total, which time does not permit me doing again.
