2024.06.02 10:38 Illustrious-Chest-52 I kind of want to give up weight loas

This June it will be exactly 10 years since I started battling weight loss. It's also 10 years since I gave myself an eating disorder.
Trigger warning: during that time I barely ate anything and did not lose any weight. Just gave myself hypoglycemic episodes. When starvation didn't work, i turned to purging. Almost 9 months of purging and not a single pound shed. So, I gave that up because i hate vomiting even when i have a flu and it wasn't doing anything, except incease my dental bills.
In the past 10 years I've tried literally everything. From intuitive eating, counting calories, counting Macros, various types of exercise regimes. I was even on metformin for a year and a half. It was literal hell and I ended up gaining weight. I've also tried keto but my body can't handle it. The fatty food triggers GERD and bloating. There was a period when I cut out all sugar and processed carbs for about a year (spoiler: I ended up gaining weight). Not only did I feel like I was going to pass out all the time but I ended up gaining weight.
So...I give up!
Not saying I will start binge eating or lay on the couch everyday. I actually love exercise and getting my body moving. Unfortunately it does nothing. Okay, not nothing. I've been going on daily walks for a year and a half and somehow it regulated my period. But I did not end up losing any weight, even after I started incorporating pilates and light free weights.
I wasted the last 10 years (from 14 to 24) trying to lose weight any way possible. For the most part it was hell. Not just the starving my body or the different diets but the mental toll it had on me. I remember thinking how much of a pig do I have to be if even bulimia doesn't make me lose weight. I don't want to spend the next ten years, he way I've spent the last.
I've tried. I gave it my best. I'm already used to being fat and people treating me like a second class citizen. I just want to live life where I don't turn down foods on holidays or family get together. And you know, not hate my body.

2024.06.02 10:37 Dense-Ad-5147 What do you think about people who carry pocket knives?

I am from a small town and always carried a pocket knife. I use it to cut fruit and vegetables, whittle wooden objects, and open packaging. My knife is crucial when I backpack and for most of my past jobs. I also like having it incase of emergency situations like if my seatbelt got caught on something. Anyways, I am just wondering what UBC people think about people who carry pocket knives on a day to day basis.

2024.06.02 10:28 ItWasWalpole-alt Funding crisis 'has closed 12 pharmacies'

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c7220j8k51zo
Pharmacies in Northern Ireland say they are dispensing prescription medicines at a loss as they are not being reimbursed the full cost.
Siobhan McNulty, who runs Melvin Pharmacy in Garrison, County Fermanagh, says she relies on sales of makeup and gifts to “keep the ship running” and subsidise the cost of dispensing prescriptions.
A spokesperson for the DoH said the department has developed a strategic plan which includes increasing core funding for pharmacies.
Community Pharmacy NI say the funding crisis has led to the closure of almost a dozen pharmacies over the past 18 months.
The organisation says there has been no agreed contract in more than 14 years and have called on the Department of Health (DoH) to put in place a drug tariff specific to Northern Ireland.
Ms McNulty said she had to limit supplies to patients of a life-saving drug for cholesterol after the cost increased from £1 to £2 per box of 28 tablets to £17.
“The department will usually eventually catch-up with the price increase but at a time of their suiting so I may have already dispensed 100 boxes of that before I get reimbursed the increased price.
“In that situation we were actually giving patients seven days supply and asking them to come back in another seven days in the hope that the price would have gone down.”
She added that her shop was "propping up" the dispensary.
“I find myself at home at night researching beauty products, making TikToks and Instagram videos, things that a community pharmacist should not have to do,” Ms McNulty told BBC News NI.
Joe McAleer runs pharmacies in Belcoo and Enniskillen and says the funding crisis is having an impact on patients.
“We can’t afford to stock the volume of medicines we had before, we haven’t the money to actually invest in the stock.
“A lot of pharmacies now can only order in as a prescription comes in, we’re just living day-to-day," he said.
“Patients are having to make multiple journeys to come in and collect their medicines because the pharmacy hasn’t got it.”
Mr McAleer said increased costs of running the business, such as rates, utility bills and staff wages, meant he had cut back on staff hours and increased his overdraft.
“I know other pharmacies have increased their overdraft, they’ve increased their loans, they are maxed out on their credit cards trying to pay the bills, they’re juggling the wholesalers, they’ve introduced private funds," he said.
“They depend on sales on the shop floor of shampoos and shower gels to actually pay for the medicines for the patients and that’s an unacceptable situation.“
In Ballyclare one of three pharmacies in the town has closed.
Local resident Colin Gilliland says the loss would have an impact on older people in the community.
“If they keep closing them, then what are we going to do?" he said.
“I feel sorry for the older ones. I think the ones who can’t drive and are dependent on a pharmacy really do need it.”
Pharmacists say they want to be able to offer more services to help ease pressures on GPs and Emergency Departments, but that can only happen alongside increased investment and resources.
The DoH said it continued to invest in the community pharmacy sector despite "severe budgetary pressures".
A spokesperson said the level of government funding provided to community pharmacies "compared favourably" to other parts of the UK.
They added that there were more pharmacies per person in Northern Ireland than elsewhere in the UK.
"The Department’s ‘Community Pharmacy Strategic Plan 2030’ aims to fully realise the potential of community pharmacy services to support better health outcomes from medicines and prevent illness," the spokesperson said.
"Implementation in 2024-25 is associated with an increase in community pharmacy’s core funding of £19m compared to 2023/24 but full delivery will require additional funding, given the current financial constraints this will require a phased approach."

2024.06.02 10:24 Mortem- I relapsed and self harmed

It had been three years since I had last self harmed. I thought I had permanently gotten over my depression, yeah I still felt sad or hated myself once in a while but overall I was genuinely happy and excited about life.
One bad event 5 months ago and now my depression has come back far, far worse than I remembered it. I genuinely did not realise it could get any worse than what I experienced years ago, but what I'm feeling now makes me seem like I was the happiest man on earth back then.
I've cut myself on four separate occasions now. Sometimes it feels like the only way to bring my panic attacks down. Not only that, but my self harm has evolved to a more concerning level. I've purposefully mixed drugs that are known for causing respiratory failure when combined. I wouldn't quite count it as suicide attempts as I wasn't actually trying to die rather than get super high, but the fact that I was hoping I'd pass out and die might mean they were attempts, I don't know.
I feel like an actual pit that brings others down with me, whenever I'm with friends or family they just keep asking me if I'm okay and I can notice how I'm bringing the mood down. I'm either working all day or at the gym, which might seem good on the outside but I'm just neglecting my studies and my social circles.
I feel so fucking stupid because I know objectively my life is great. I'm independent, I have a good paying job, I study a degree with a high prospect for employment with high income, I have amazing friends and family, I'm physically fit and healthy (not for long with this nicotine addiction I've now developed but still). Yet for some reason I can't fucking shake this feeling of emptiness from within and I know the exact reason why, yet I don't want to take steps towards fixing it because it would mean letting go of someone I still deeply love and cherish more than anyone I've ever known, including myself.
I'm stuck in the past and it's affecting every aspect of my life. Now I'm just venting here because I don't want to burden the people I know in real life, I'm already stressing them out enough as is.

2024.06.02 10:23 BW_Princess Please help me achieve the final step of my escape plan.

I'm 27 and I've spent the past 4 years having the most painful realizations about my parents and my horrible childhood. My parents are now divorced and hate each other. I spent 2 years influencing my mother to get the divorce. I needed to escape and since I was still in school and had no money, this was the only option.
Growing my dad was a typical narc. I grew up with my mum telling me that and I had no idea what it meant. I still don't tbh coz I haven't read any books on narc abuse - just on emotional and financial abuse, which I experienced.
Growing up my narc dad emotionally, spiritually and financially abused us. I was severely isolated which is what is affecting me sooo much now. I went to therapy and worked on the emotional impact of abuse but now that I live with my mum and have more social freedom I realize I need help with isolation.
My mother is extremely manipulative. She uses victimhood against me and acts like she played NO part in my horrible childhood but most times she enabled my dad's abuse. I feel resentful and angry towards her. This part of healing is tough because she has a mental health background and can use the terminology against me to justify her enmeshment and control over me.
My theory is that because she missed out on on sooooooo much of her life- she was married for 22 years, she wants to live through me by dictating that I should be a farmer (her long life unrealized dream) , who I date, who I befriend, how I speak, my values, beliefs and morals should reflect her. She wants me to a mini version of her. She literally said to me verbatim that "parents can live out their dreams through their children in a healthy way" shes delusional!
I grew up extremely sheltered, controlled and isolated by BOTH my parents.
My question is how to I ESCAPE my controlling mother. I escaped my dad's house when my mother filed for divorce. I moved out and only told him after I had packed up and left. I haven't spoke to him in a year. I have him blocked. I will NEVER talk to him again and want to change my surname to my mother's maiden name.
Now the final step is cutting off my enmeshed codependent mother, building a community and gaining some financial independence. I feel sooo immature and developmentally behind my peers so I get discouraged sometimes.
Please recommend some resources I can use to achieve this final step. Books, podcasts, YouTubers, movies etc etc
It's been a long journey but I can almost see the finish line! I've worked hard and I'm almost there!
i.e. I went to law school so I know I can a lucrative career. I just need help starting my career.

2024.06.02 10:20 Rakathu 6 Trimarian knights on foot

So this is going to be a small project that may work up into a much larger one.
Wargames Atlantic has recently begun releasing kits in their "Age of Chivalry" line which covers the period between the 12th and 15th centuries.
As a way of supporting the release of this line, and as a nod of respect to my other hobby/group of hobbies in the SCA, I will be painting a series of units for display.
The working title is "Exploring the past through modern artistic medium: Kingdom colors across massed units." The intent of the project is to provide a visualization of what a massed army of medieval troops in Kingdom livery colors might look like.
The first two units will be Trimarian knights on foot, utilizing the foot knights plastic set that was just released. I will continue to feed units in both Trimarian and Ansteorran colors.
If I can make it to art sci events, this is what I will be bringing to set up at a table somewhere. To me this is the closest way I can bring my chosen form of art to the sca in a constructive manner.
I've had some grandiose, long range ideas that I've written down as possible ways to turn this into a class or series of classes about different types of warriors throughout history, supplemented by a physical visual aid of a miniature. We'll see if those notes become something.
On a personal level, this is also my way of working on my freehand technique, because I will be having to paint quite a lot of triskels and black stars. Maybe I'll cut that back through water slide transfers or some other method, but for now it will be freehand.
And finally, as a way to begin this undertaking, I present the first six Trimarian knights on foot. Four with sword and shield, two with two-handed weapons.
Comments, criticism, concerns, and any other such messages are most welcome.

2024.06.02 10:20 dcdomain Orange County w/ SCE assume I should go w/ REC + Enphase

Orange County w/ SCE assume I should go w/ REC + Enphase
Moved to a house in Orange County back in April. SCE TOU-D-PRIME. First month: $600, second month: $650. Averaging 64 kWh / day (April: 1821 kWh, May: 1862 kWh).
Approximate layout
First time owning a pool, have an EV (will likely add a second in the near future). We haven't even hit summer yet so I assume we'll easily touch $700 when we start turning on the AC and lengthening the pool pump run time. Wife and I both work from home, but still have a commute due to dropping off the older kid at daycare (20 miles each way because we love our old daycare, crazy I know).
Link to spreadsheet below
Received a few quotes off EnergySage (spreadsheet here). Looks like pricing dropped between when I first got my first round of quotes in March and the latest round this past week. Cheapest is $1.74/w for a Panasonic system, two string inverters. A couple of quotes around $2.20/w for an all Enphase system. Double checked https://enphase.com/installers/microinverters/calculator and the various combinations of Alpha Pure, Alpha Pure-R, Alpha Pure 2 and IQ8M/IQ8A all seem to check out.
IQ8M vs IQ8A differences seem negligible? From what I've read IQ8A higher output, less clipping but IQ8M will have better low light performance during the important dawn/dusk hours?
Can't really dig up much on the panel differences, assuming 420W Alpha Pure 2 > 420W Alpha Pure-R > 410 AA Alpha Pure?
Should I follow up with the Panasonic quotes at all? One at $2.08/w does use IQ8M microinverters. From what I've gathered in this sub, I assume I shouldn't bother w/ the Hyperion + PowerWall 3 combo, especially since pricing isn't competitive. And after initial quoting, didn't bother following up w/ Tesla given all the warnings here.
If focusing on just the Enphase quotes, ProSolar at $2.40/w seems out of line compared to the $2.20, $2.25 quotes. Should I bother pursuing? Or just focus on Evolution Energy, Solar 360, Sunergy? I'll likely try to get the quoted equipment lined up between them to do an apples to apples comparison. So far Solar 360 from a cursory search seems to have a decent amount of positive reviews. Any other providers I should ping?
As for battery capacity, will be tallying up the evening usage (discounting some of the EV charging in hopes I can shift some if not all of it to during the day) to see if I really need 20 kWh or if I can cut that in half. Any other considerations I'm not taking into account?
Welcoming all feedback, pointers, criticism. First rodeo. Have some side notes to make sure I request consumption transformer and noted some of the other pointers here. Thank you all in advance. And... *$)@* CPUC and NEM 3.0.

2024.06.02 09:38 Exact-Camel Wife of 15 years caught sexting and I don’t know what to do

My wife and I will be celebrating our 15 year anniversary this year and our marriage has not been easy lately. Three years ago I caught her sexting her classmate and, based on the descriptive X-rated texts, I can deduce that it wasn’t her first time either. I confronted her on it and she was very apologetic, cut ties with the “friend” (although the school year was over and he was moving away anyway), and she deleted all communication. Before this, they studied together frequently at his and our place, and I would always see him driving away before I got home from work, which raised a bit of some suspicion at the time. She insists that the sexts (and whatever associated feelings she developed) were the only thing that happened. I’m sure we all have assumptions, but let’s just give her the benefit of a doubt that she’s not lying about anything.
This experience was especially painful as the attention and words she sent to her “friend” was the exact love language I had been craving and had been absent from our marriage for nearly a decade. Sexual encounters/foreplay/advances/talk/flirting etc. were almost exclusively initiated by myself for nearly 10 years. Every 2-3 months I would bring up the issue due to it becoming unbearable — sometimes it would turn into a fight, sometimes just empty promises. For nearly 10 years I never really felt desired, wanted, or craved for in that way with her.
Since the sexting incident, she has completely changed. I get all kinds of attention and affection now — everything I have hoped for since things seemed to change 10 years ago. But, I have felt A LOT of resentment towards her for cheating. I’m also just plain exhausted from the stress of the past.
Our kids are in elementary school and I hesitate to divorce for now due to them. I asked that she reread the sexts daily (since it replays in my mind daily) and feel that has opened her eyes to how it affects me still after 4 years. But I still feel very resentful. I thought about asking her to explain the situation to family. It’s embarrassing and perhaps my resentment would be relieved that way. Other than therapy or revenge cheating, I just don’t know what to do to feel less resentful.

2024.06.02 09:31 Adventurous6962 UK election faces massive debt crisis: What it means for future government actions

As the UK gears up for the general election on July 4, both major political parties are confronted with a staggering debt crisis that will severely limit future government actions and public service funding. 📉💰
The fiscal challenges are a result of extensive crisis spending over the past four years, first to support jobs and businesses during the Covid-19 pandemic and then to help families cope with the cost-of-living increases after Russia's invasion of Ukraine. With taxes at a postwar high and the national debt at levels last seen in the early 1960s, the next government will face difficult choices.
Regardless of whether Labour or the Conservatives win, the legacy of this debt will constrain their ability to implement new policies or make significant investments without finding new revenue sources or cutting existing spending.
Join the discussion on the economic challenges ahead and what this means for the future of the UK.

2024.06.02 09:27 firstwinterrain I feel like I'm not worthy of being alive

TW; mention of sexual assault, suicidal thoughts, sh
I'm just 18, maybe I'm over dramatic but I'm so tired of living. Currently, I'm too occupied with studying for an entrance exam so there's no time for meltdowns and breakdowns, but I just wanted to let it out somewhere. I didn't have anyone to share this with. My parents aren't talking to me, especially my dad he just calls me things, yells at me, throws things, he really would rather have me dead. I'm just a disappointment, I haven't felt this suicidal ever. I used to write poetry to convey my feelings, but now I'm insensate and desensitized. I just can't feel anything, I have had a history of self-harm (it wasn't for attention, it started because I used to abhor my skin. I was sexually abused when I was 6, and I still get nightmares/flashbacks, which led me to start cutting because I just execrated my skin) I woke up sweating last night because of a bad dream again, and It was so tough to not just take a lighter or blade out of my drawer and feel the pain I deserve. But I didn't want to go down that hill again, I wanted to be better than that. I haven't been able to sleep for more than 3 hours for a night since the last few days. This doesn't happen as often but lately I don't know what's acting as a trigger. I wish I wasn't this pathetic. This past year has really maimed me. I just want to be able to achieve something better, but till now, I have only messed up, I fucked up all my exams. My physical health keeps worsening, I haven't been able to eat anything, sometimes I get so anxious that I throw up almost everyday, my periods have stopped since a few months because I don't eat enough, I feel really homely from inside and out.
It's difficult to study like this but I have no option. I can just slog off this month. I feel like I already wasted a few minutes here by venting but I had to put it somewhere. Wish me luck for my exam. To whoever's reading this, take care stranger.

2024.06.02 09:22 FL4W3D369 AITA for not telling my mother why I was going No Contact?

I (39f) sent my mother (Rita) a FB message telling her I needed to go No Contact for a month with very little detail.
The dynamic with Rita went awry several years ago after dealing with her opioid addiction, the roles kind of reversed and I felt more like the parent.
Rita got clean shortly after dating an old co-worker (while still married); after separating from her husband, she told me that she couldn't afford an apartment; I offered to move with her, to split the rent and even bought her a bed, living room furniture and a kitchenette. I had high hopes we'd start getting along more.
Rita insisted I meet her new guy (Clint) again, but this time as an adult. Let me preface this by saying, 10 year old me was in the right to "accidentally" spit chocolate milk at this guys face while he told me a joke.
He was creepy and tried too hard then and still does now.
I visited her new at Clint's place and while there he would (jokingly) make comments about wanting to see me in a bikini or me seeing him in a speedo. He would tell me he loves me 10-20 times within 5 minutes and joke about leaving Rita for me when she was within ear shot; she never said anything to him about these.
During quick polite goodbye hugs he would hold it for too long and try to kiss my neck, I continuously pulled my shoulders up to cover my neck and try to get away but he'd kiss my neck or ear. I told both of them numerous times I was not comfortable with it and after 4 visits and numerous complaints to my mom, it finally stopped but he labelled me as an ice queen.
Rita was making my nephew a birthday dinner and Clint came over to our house. He slapped my ass and cupped his hand before removing it; my nephew was outraged (so was I) and Rita laughed when she heard about it.
Before I moved back to my home town, I went to visit my mom and Clint with my dog, Buddy. Clint's son (Wes) was over and I felt safe coming back over for dinner because his son is a good guy; big mistake.
While I was sitting there listening to music with Rita and Wes, Clint comes back into the living room and sits on my lap and starts 'wiggling' around inappropriately- I told him to stop but he keeps doing it, I demand he stops and try to shove him off of me and he laughed; but he wasn't the only one laughing, Rita was too. I stared at her for 3 seconds and she dragged him off of me. I stood up, he sat down and I rudely said "you're lucky I didn't kick you in the balls, I should have", his response was "oh really?!" then I replied that I should have and his response is that he was only joking around and how I need to take a joke. I had told him numerous times to stop and he flat out refused to and only wiggled more. Rita reached for his hand, still laughing and said how "silly' he was and how that's one thing she likes about him. I sat closer to Wes and was going to stay until I hear him address Buddy (my dog) and say "Hey Buddy, tell your mommy she needs to grow a sense of humor"; with that, I grabbed Buddy's leash, my purse and started to leave when he shouts out "Did I OFFEND you?!", I screamed back at him and slammed the door behind us.
I've told Rita that I don't feel comfortable with him around, especially while he's drinking; she tried to assure me that he'd never do anything to me but said she'd talk to him. I moved to another town and made it abundantly clear that I do not want anything to do with him. I will be civil for her benefit but he gives me the creeps and is incredibly inappropriate with everyone - his daughter has lost friends because of his actions before.
Rita came down a couple weeks ago and took Clint to her friends place then we went out for mother's day; she asked if I would mind if she picked him up to cut time off her trip home - I understood and said sure. TLDR, he forced his way into my new home after I said I was not inviting them both inside and she was informed that he is NOT welcome here.
Rita recently went to a friends, had a few drinks and drove home, I was incredibly worried and told her so, to which she responded aggressively saying that she isn't stupid.
She sent numerous aggressive voice messages on Facebook, I decided to stop responding then Clint texted me, strongly suggested that I reach out to her because she's upset. I responded by saying 'Friends don't let friends drink and drive' and ignored him too. His unread response was that "she only had 2, if she drank more, trust me, I would have cabbed it." The math wasn't mathing, she said that they stayed there for 3 hours; I had called 2 hours after they got home and she was smashed, she definitely had more than what they let on and I do not trust him or his judgement because he lost his license because of a DUI. The morning I went No Contact she sent me messages assuring me that she was fine and that she wouldn't drink and drive; I refrained from responding.
Three days of no contact , I call her and we are civilized but both on edge, our conversation was very brief but I wanted to reach out - she is my mother after all and I would ideally like to have a relationship with her.
I messaged Rita and told her I need to go No Contact for 30 days to work things out professionally and mentally. She facetimed me 3 times, called twice, messaged me on FB and left voice messages on both my answering machine and Facebook. Comments ranging from "No contact from me or everyone?", "I'm really worried about you" and "please call me back". I responded and said "This is not about you, this is about me, please respect my wishes".
Am I the asshole for not telling her exactly why, being upset that she's going to my inner circle to try and find out what's going on and not being able to let go of her past and current short comings?
I'm on a waitlist for a therapist because I would like to build a better relationship with her and let the resentment go. I don't expect her to change but I need resources and need to learn how to set effective boundaries to act as stepping stones for future healthier conversations and interactions and hope that this break will help release the tension.

2024.06.02 09:18 trrrerr6788 I reached out after 3+ months no contact, it went well, and now I feel worse?

To cut a long story short, I went no contact with my ex following our BU 3 months ago. It was a very ugly breakup. Anyways, I’ve been super sick recently and he heard through a mutual friend and decided to buy a bunch of holistic medicine for me when visiting his family recently in the country.
(Through my friend) he gave me mysterious unlabeled pouches of tea and I was so desperate to feel better that tonight I decided to put our history and all of my hurt aside and called him asking what they were.
We ended up chit chatting for maybe 15 minutes as he was in the middle of fixing something and it felt so good to hear his voice and just talk again. We joked around as if nothing had even happened and as if no time had passed. I could hear that he was very happy that I called and he told me that I can always contact him any time for anything and everything. When we wrapped up the convo, he told me “I’ll see you later” (??) and multiple times told me to let him know if this magic tea ends up helping me.
Our call really got me thinking about how good the “friendship” aspect of our relationship was and now I’m feeling so torn and having so many thoughts. Our relationship destroyed me. I 99% expected my call to be either declined or to be met with fake sympathy buzz words. But he seemed to be genuinely curious of my health/life and was very kind. Is he just being courteous and am I reading into it too much? Should I continue to move on or see if it’s possible to “rekindle” a friendship ? Is it even possible to become friends with someone who hurt you if they changed?
It doesn’t hurt to add; he has persistently talked about being unable to move on these past 3 months to said mutual friend and has talked about reaching out but being too afraid to.

2024.06.02 09:18 SecureFoxxton Fox Breathing

This is still in heavy development and I’m pretty stuck in going past what I already have. If you have any suggestions please give them to me! Derived from Beast Breathing, Fox Breathing is symbolized by an orange nichirin (usually) and the art is based off the tendency of a fox to prefer running to fighting. Most of the moves and the basic teaching of the art is to quickly close distance, do damage, and escape the range of your enemy. First Form: Bite - The user charges in for to slash the opponent, with the goal being to start a combo on them. Second Form: Nimble - The user charges in and stabs the opponent before dashing the other direction. If possible, the move can be used multiple times for more damage. Third Form: Claw - The user charges in and makes to wide slashes towards the opponent Fourth Form: (Not very sure what this could be used for but I like the idea) Sly - The user charges in while keeping their profile small, allowing them to snatch or take anything from their opponent. That’s all I was able to come up with myself, so please feel free to critique or add anything you come up with.

Over the past few weeks, I've been using the Wayne Water Systems WSB1275 battery in my basement sump pump. This maintenance-free, sealed lead-acid battery pack has made my life easier and more worry-free, thanks to its 75Ah capacity and 12V voltage. With its handles making it easy to move around, I am now free from the hassle of constantly monitoring and maintaining the battery levels.
One of the most impressive features of this battery is the consistent power supply it provides, ensuring that my backup sump pump remains ready to kick in at a moment's notice. This reliable performance has given me peace of mind, especially during the recent storms that have brought about power outages in my area. The battery also charges quickly, so I'm always prepared for any situation.
However, there is one drawback I've encountered. While the battery works reliably, the instructions provided for installation are quite complicated and could have been simplified. Additionally, I did notice that the battery's capacity can sometimes be slightly less than advertised, which might require an adjustment in your expectations.
In summary, the Wayne Water Systems WSB1275 battery offers a top-quality, reliable solution for my basement sump pump needs. Overall, the Thunderbolt Magnum 12V 160 CCA AGM Battery has proven to be a reliable and functional option for powering electric start generators. But be aware of the possible reversed polarity terminals and the difficulty in finding compatible replacements.

The Mighty Max Battery 12V 22Ah is a versatile device that serves as a replacement for your Die Hard Portable Jump Starter. It's a maintenance-free 12V 22AH Sealed Lead Acid battery, known for its spill-proof nature and high discharge rate. This battery is designed to handle a wide range of temperatures, making it suitable for use in both high and low temperatures.
One of the most impressive things about this battery is its ability to resist shocks and vibration. It can be mounted in any position, making it a convenient option for those who are always on the move. And let's not forget the bonus of having a long service life and the ability to recover from deep discharge situations, which is particularly useful in emergency situations.
Now, let's talk about my personal experience with the Mighty Max Battery. I've used it to jump-start my car during a surprise power outage, and it worked like a charm. It's compact, which made it easy to store in my glove compartment, and it fits perfectly into the port on my Die Hard jump starter.
However, there were a few drawbacks. The product doesn't come with a wire harness or mounting accessories, which means you'll have to purchase those separately if you don't already have them. Additionally, the battery's weight might be a concern for some, but for me, it wasn't a deal-breaker.
Overall, the Mighty Max Battery 12V 22Ah is a powerful and reliable option for anyone in need of a portable jump starter. I've been using the Schumacher DSR ProSeries Jump Starter in my daily life for a few months now, and I must say it's been quite the reliable companion. When I needed to jumpstart my car the other day, it took me just a few minutes to get everything connected and running smoothly. The 525 cranking amps and 350 cold cranking amps really make a difference in those crucial moments.
One thing that really stood out to me was the easy-to-read digital display and ON/OFF switch. They made it easy for me to keep track of the battery life and to ensure I wasn't draining it unnecessarily. However, I did notice that the 60-inch cable length wasn't quite long enough to reach my car when it was parked in the driveway, so I had to make a few adjustments.
I particularly appreciate Schumacher's safety features like the reverse hook-up safeguard alarm, which makes sure that the clamps are connected to the battery correctly. Having this safety feature has given me peace of mind when jumpstarting my car or helping friends in need.
This jump starter is well-built and seems to be quite durable. It's a little bit heavy to carry around, but it's certainly sturdy enough to handle the job. The 2.1-amp USB port and 12V DC outlet added bonus features that I've come to appreciate during my camping trips and other outdoor activities.
In conclusion, I highly recommend the Schumacher DSR ProSeries Jump Starter. It has proven to be an invaluable addition to my daily life, and I know I can always count on it when I need to get my car back up and running.

One of the best things about this battery is its high output. With a max of 3,300 amps, it really powers my speakers. The M6 terminal hardware which comes alongside also adds to the convenience. The battery is classified for OE fit and runs on a wide range of watts, making it versatile for different audio setups.
However, the packaging of the battery wasn't as satisfactory. The battery box came damaged and there were instances where the label peeled off. As far as the terminal hardware, it seems some customers found it missing from their package.
Despite those minor issues, I'm still impressed with this battery's performance. It's durable, reliable, and has definitely elevated the audio quality of my ride. Overall, I would say it's a great power source for any serious audio setup.

It's spill-proof and completely sealed, ensuring maximum safety.
The maintenance-free aspect of this battery was a game-changer for me. With no need for acid handling during activation, I could worry less and focus on my riding adventure. Just like the product description stated, all it took was to pop it into my motorcycle and I was good to go!

Firstly, the AGM Super Cycle technology is truly remarkable. Unlike traditional batteries, these super cycle batteries can handle occasional or frequent partial discharges without any issues. Their smaller size and reduced weight make them an attractive choice for those who are particular about the battery size.
However, there are a few drawbacks that I noticed too. While the battery is designed to prevent sulfation during deep discharge, one has to be careful with frequent deep discharges, as it could reduce the battery's life span. Also, the slightly higher voltage during recharge can strain some battery connections.
Overall, I am quite impressed with this battery's performance. It has proven to be reliable, easy to use, and quite efficient, even with the occasional drawbacks.

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Schumacher Electric DSR ProPSJ-2212 12V 18Ah Jump Starter Replacement Battery. As someone who relies on jump starters frequently, I was excited to see if this one would live up to the hype.
The battery itself is a maintenance-free AGM technology, which means I no longer have to worry about adding acid or water. I found this to be a huge time-saver, especially when I was in a rush. Additionally, it was important to note that this is a replacement battery and not a complete starter pack, so I had to use my existing cables and hardware.
One standout feature of this battery is the charging speed. It quickly charges and then switches to maintain mode, protecting the battery from overcharging. This was particularly helpful when I was using it on a daily basis.
The sturdiness of the battery was also impressive. It had a nice heavy case that gave me confidence in the battery's durability. The cords were long and easy to manage, which was a nice bonus when I needed to reach the back of my vehicle.
Overall, the Schumacher Electric DSR ProPSJ-2212 12V 18Ah Jump Starter Replacement Battery performed well and I was very pleased with my purchase. Its sturdiness, charging speed, and convenient maintenance-free technology make it a great addition to anyone's tool kit.

I have been using the Victron Energy BAT412025081 12V/25Ah AGM Super Cycle Batt. (M5) for quite some time now, and I must say, it's been a game-changer. One of the main highlights I've experienced is the ability to handle repeated 100% discharge without any worries. The Super Cycle battery's new paste in the positive plates allows for slightly less sensitivity to softening.
Another aspect I appreciate is the significant reduction in sulfation during deep discharge, thanks to new additives in the electrolyte. However, I have noticed that the weight of this battery seems to be fractionally more compared to its standard Victron counterparts.
In terms of downsides, the battery's dimensions and weight are slightly larger and heavier than the standard Deep Cycle AGM batteries, which might be a concern for those with limited storage space or weight restrictions. Overall, the Victron Energy BAT412025081 has proven to be a reliable and efficient solution for my needs, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

The rechargeable feature is definitely a plus, allowing me to use the same battery multiple times without worrying about constantly having to replace it.
One of the aspects that I appreciate the most about this product is its durability. Despite being subjected to various outdoor conditions, the Mighty Max battery has been quite rugged and held up well. The spill-proof feature is a welcomed addition as well, ensuring that my device never gets damaged due to accidents.
That being said, there are a couple of minor downsides to this product. One of them is the weight; it is a bit on the heavier side, which may pose inconvenience when transporting it. Additionally, while the battery offers a decent amount of capacity, the performance under heavy load conditions can be somewhat inconsistent at times.
In summary, the Mighty Max battery, despite its minor flaws, has been a reliable and long-lasting addition to my device setup. Its portability could be improved slightly, but overall, I am quite pleased with my purchase.

One of the highlights is the battery's spill-proof design, which ensures that it can be used in any position without worrying about leaks. It's also rechargeable, which makes it an eco-friendly option for those looking to reduce their carbon footprint.
However, one downside I've noticed is the battery's weight, at 8.78 pounds, which can make it a bit cumbersome to handle. Additionally, it can be challenging to locate all the necessary mounting accessories as they are not included in the package.
Overall, the Mighty Max Battery Ml15-12 has been a trusty companion for my power needs. With its various compatibility options and spill-proof design, it's a reliable choice for those in the market for a high-performance battery with a long service life.

Imagine slogging through a muddy construction site or trekking through a wet forest without feeling a single drop of water on your feet. That's the promise of the Under Armour Stellar G2 Waterproof Tactical Boots. I've tried these babies myself and let me tell you, they've been a game-changer.
First things first, the outer material is 100% leather, giving these boots a rugged, durable feel that can withstand any challenge I throw at them. But the real standout feature? The waterproofing. I'll admit, I was skeptical at first, but these boots kept my feet dry in the dampest conditions, making them a reliable companion on any outdoor excursion.
Now, I did notice a little issue with the traction on these bad boys. They tend to slip on some surfaces, which can be a bit of a hazard in certain situations. But that's a small price to pay for the overall comfort and protection these boots provide. Speaking of comfort, the die-cut EVA footbed and molded EVA, TPU shank make for a cushioned, supportive experience, even during long shifts.
As for the aesthetics, these boots are no slouch. The sleek, black design exudes an air of professionalism, which is always a bonus when you're working on a job site. But remember, always prioritize function over form.
In conclusion, the Under Armour Stellar G2 Waterproof Tactical Boots are a solid choice for anyone looking for reliable, waterproof footwear. Just remember to keep an eye on the traction and you're good to go.

🔗Under Armour Men's Stellar G2 6" Tactical Boots - Breathable & Odor-Resistant

https://preview.redd.it/j9kcesznx34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3d60b4ad770dca17db30decfcfab84b5b4c7afce
I recently got a pair of Under Armour Men's Stellar G2 6" Tactical Boots and they exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort and design. The light and breathable textile upper with full-grain polishable leather forefoot provided a great balance of durability and flexibility. I loved the molded Contoura Support anti-odor footbed with shock-absorbing foam as it made long walks a breeze, even without insoles. The molded EVA midsole cushioning with reinforced TPU shank gave me excellent protection and support, keeping my feet comfortable all day. Moreover, the oil- and slip-resistant high-traction rubber lug outsole offered a solid grip on various surfaces.
However, there were a few aspects that I found disappointing. Firstly, the front and back pull loops made the on/off process a bit difficult for me. Secondly, my previous pair of tactical boots felt more comfortable due to their thickness and weather resistance. Lastly, the size of the boots was somewhat small, so I had to go up one size.
Despite the minor drawbacks, I'd definitely recommend these boots to anyone looking for a comfortable and stylish pair of tactical boots.

🔗Salomon Forces 4D GTX Tactical Hiking Boots for Men

https://preview.redd.it/odw8viaox34d1.jpg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5e6d3597ecd9c271c58efbeef0a8533f567b9f3c
The quest for the perfect tactical shoe has led me to the Salomon Forces Men Quest 4D GTX 2 EN. With a sleek design and plenty of features to make my treks more comfortable, I've been putting these boots through the paces.
One of the most noticeable features in this shoe is its dual-density midsole, which provides superior cushioning, stability, and motion control. The EVA foam in these boots is high-performance, offering excellent shock attenuation as I hike through various terrains. The nonreflective materials make these shoes perfect for tactical use, as they're always discrete and blended in with the environment.
The soft, breathable lining of this shoe has been a game-changer in terms of moisture-wicking foot comfort. The gusseted tongue design prevented debris from entering the shoe, keeping the tongue centered and eliminating the need for constant adjustments. It's a great feature to have, especially when I'm trudging through mud or over uneven ground.
In terms of fit, the molded OrthoLite sockliner matched the contours of my foot, providing a snug and comfortable fit. The ISO 20344:2011 puncture-resistant sole also made me feel more secure when navigating through rough terrain.
While I love the ventilation, ankle support, water resistance, and other features of these boots, there are some minor downsides. The traction, although solid, could be better in some situations. Also, the regular lacing system can be a bit tedious, especially when I need to quickly tie and untie the boots.
Overall, the Salomon Forces Men Quest 4D GTX 2 EN has been a great addition to my outdoor gear collection. It provides comfort and support during my hikes and tactical missions, making it a reliable tool for the job. While there are some minor issues, the benefits of these boots far outweigh the drawbacks.

When I first heard about these Mickey Mouse boots, I was intrigued by their distinctive design paired with their military origins. So, I decided to give them a shot while embarking on a snowmobiling adventure. As I strapped them on, I was initially surprised by how heavy they were.
But once I stepped into the deep snow, I immediately comprehended the weight's significance - it signified the durability and robustness of these boots. The wool and waterproof exterior managed to keep my feet warm and dry even in the harsh subzero temperatures.
However, their unique design did catch quite a few stares, but hey, it's not every day someone's feet are decked out like a set of Mickey Mouse ears. Overall, these boots delivered the expected functionality, even though they made me look like a walking Disney attraction.

When I first tried on the Men's Stellar G2 Tactical Boots from Under Armour, I was impressed by the lightweight feel and the durable leather forefoot. The high traction rubber lug outsole definitely came in handy during my daily walks in different surfaces, providing me with a firm grip.
However, after a few weeks of regular use, I noticed that the zipper started to malfunction, making it difficult to take the boots off or put them on. Despite this inconvenience, the style of the boots and their overall comfort were definitely attractive features.

🔗Adidas Terrex Snowpitch COLD.RDY Hiking Boots - Lightweight, Insulated, and Weather-Resistant

Recently, I had the chance to try out the Adidas Terrex Snowpitch COLD. RDY hiking boots, and I must say, I was impressed. The leather upper has a stylish and long-lasting appeal, while the insulated and water-repellent COLD. RDY technology kept my feet warm and dry in any weather.
One feature I particularly enjoyed was the textile innersole that added extra comfort to my feet. The hiking boots also offered great support and traction, making them perfect for my outdoor adventures. However, I did notice that the rubber outsole was a bit tricky to clean. Overall, I highly recommend these boots for fellow outdoor enthusiasts who are looking for a reliable and comfortable pair.

Over the past few weeks, I've been using the Adidas Terrex Heron Mid CW CP PrimaLoft Hiking Boots in my daily life. These boots have been a reliable companion on my hikes, providing both comfort and protection from the elements. One of the standout features is the waterproof and climaproof construction, keeping my feet dry even in the wettest conditions. The PrimaLoft insulation material is another highlight, providing extra warmth in colder temperatures.
One aspect that I found impressive is the Stealth rubber outsole, which offers unbeatable grip on slippery or icy ground. This feature, combined with the mid-height cuff, ensures that I'm always stable on any trail I encounter.
However, there were also some downsides to my experience. The boots seem to run a bit large, which may cause some unwanted bulk for people with narrow or standard-width feet. Additionally, the lacing system can be a bit finicky, requiring a bit more effort to get the fit just right.
In conclusion, the Adidas Terrex Heron Mid CW CP PrimaLoft Hiking Boots have been a reliable companion on my hikes, providing both comfort and protection. The waterproof and insulated features are especially noteworthy, but potential buyers should be aware of the sizing issues and the need for a snug fit.

The lightweight and supportive design is perfect for long marches, and the breathable material keeps my feet from getting overheated. Although the soles may take time to break in, their comfort and durability make them well worth the effort. One small concern is that the boots could use better toe protection, especially for those in demanding environments.

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Adidas Terrex Unity Leather Mid RAIN. RDY hiking shoes, and I must say, I was impressed. The nubuck leather upper felt sturdy and durable, while the lugged outsole provided excellent grip on various surfaces.
Despite being marketed as water-repellent, the shoes didn't seem to get wet easily during my outdoor adventures. The EVA midsole was comfortable, especially for those long hikes. However, I did find the lace closure a bit fiddly at times.
Overall, the Adidas Terrex hiking shoes were a solid choice for those looking for a reliable, durable, and comfortable pair of shoes for their outdoor excursions.

🔗Adidas Tactical ADV: Cushioned Snowboarding Boots with Responsive Boost Midsole

Over the past few weeks, I've been putting the Adidas Tactical ADV 2021 Snowboard Boots through their paces in the slopes near my home. Let me tell you, these boots have been a game-changer in my snowboarding adventures. They're incredibly comfortable, and I appreciate how the textile upper and heat-moldable Ultralon foam liner work together to make these boots feel like an extension of my feet.
One of my favorite features is the boot lacing system; it's so user-friendly that I can easily adjust the fit on the go. The rubber outsole provides great traction on those icy slopes, while the responsive Boost midsole ensures a cushioned ride that keeps my feet feeling fresh even after a long day on the mountain.
That being said, there are a few minor drawbacks. While I love the boot's versatility, I found the sizing to be a bit on the larger side. I'd recommend going down a half-size for a better fit. Additionally, the boots tend to wear out faster than I'd like, but I suppose that's the price we pay for such comfortable and responsive footwear.
Overall, the Adidas Tactical ADV 2021 Snowboard Boots are a worthy investment for snowboarding enthusiasts. They offer a perfect balance of comfort, performance, and style that's hard to beat in the world of snowboarding footwear.

My experience with the Oakley Field Assault Boot (Coyote) has been a positive one. The durability of this boot is top-notch, thanks to the 1000-denier Cordura and suede upper. This lightweight and breathable material also adds to the overall comfort of the boot. The Vibram rubber lug outsole is a standout feature, providing impressive traction and stability, even in the harshest conditions. The molded EVA insert and injection polyurethane midsole ensure comfort for long periods and even absorb shock effectively. The braided nylon laces are sturdy and provide a secure fit, but they could use some reinforcement to last longer.
In terms of pros, the Oakley Field Assault Boot offers unparalleled durability, comfort, and traction. Cons include the thinness of the laces and the stiffness around the ankle. Overall, this military-style boot stands out for its performance and sleek design.

I have been using the Adidas Eastrail 2.0 Mid RAIN. RDY shoes in my daily adventures, and I must say it has been quite an experience up until now. When it comes to the aesthetics, the shoes have a unique and edgy design, especially in the green color I ordered. The size 48 fits me perfectly, and I'm glad Adidas gave me the option to select the right size for myself.
One thing that stood out to me right off the bat is the lace-up fastening. It wasn't difficult at all to tie the shoes, and they stayed securely on my feet throughout the day. The mesh upper and synthetic reinforcements made by recycled material have proven to be quite durable, even during rainy days.
On the negative side, the EVA midsole felt a little bit uncomfortable after prolonged usage. It seemed to me like my feet wouldn't dry quickly during the rainy seasons, which I guess could be due to the material they're made from.
Overall, I would say the Adidas Eastrail 2.0 Mid RAIN. RDY shoes are a decent choice for those looking for waterproof hiking boots with a modern edge. While there are a couple of cons that I've personally experienced, I'm willing to give them another shot and see if they hold up in various weather conditions.

The Under Armour Coyote Micro G Valsetz Mid Tactical Boots have been a game-changer for me. The first thing I noticed was how lightweight they were – a real plus when you're on your feet for long periods. The synthetic leather and nylon upper felt not only soft but also breathable, which was a major plus during those sweltering summer days.
One of the key features that stood out for me was the oil- and slip-resistant rubber lug outsole. I work in an environment where there's a lot of dirt and wet surfaces, and these boots really helped me stay grounded, literally. The full-length Micro G foam midsole added a level of cushioning that made my long hours on the job much more comfortable.
However, there was one downside – one that I couldn't help but notice after a while. The boots wore down more quickly than I expected, given their price point. But that's a minor issue when you consider the overall level of comfort and support these boots offer.
In the end, the Under Armour Coyote Micro G Valsetz Mid Tactical Boots earned a spot in my everyday rotation. They're like a reliable companion on those long, challenging days at work. Highly recommended for anyone who spends a lot of time on their feet.

2024.06.02 09:02 corpseonline Feelings for a married colleague - Need help to over come

Never thought I'd be here, but here goes. Been friends with this colleague for about a year, chatting, gossiping, all good. We've met in person a few times, but it's always been within limits. Found out he's married after catching feelings, thanks to another colleague.
Recently hung out again on several occasions just casual friends, eventually I brought up his wife and he said I never talked about her because I knew the moment you knew I'd lose you, and had a heart-to-heart about how wrong things were.
He confessed feelings for me and mentioned he's not in a happy place in marriage, and I went with it for couple of days but guilt hit hard. I cut off socials to respect his marriage, even though I've never met his wife. With our different backgrounds, i know pursuing anything is impossible. Anyone been here? How'd you move past it? Despite the feelings, I'll never wreck a marriage. Just wishing him the best.

2024.06.02 09:01 ninopettis My problems seem pathetic compared to other people's, and they involve me being bad

My problems are legitimate in my opinion, but probably not others'. By that, I mean that the problems exist, and that they have a serious negative impact on my life, and that they've done so for over two decades now. But on the surface they seem stupid or trivial or easily fixable. Other people have been dealt much worse hands than I have.
I can't and don't want to go into full detail here, because it'd be long and inappropriate. However theoretically I'd be happy to share the full detail with anyone who might happen to be interested. But I can't just pour it all out in this thread.
I'm 34, and have had serious mental health issues since I was 8ish. Throughout all my teen years and most of my twenties, I was aware of these issues and was always trying to "fix" them, despite not truly understanding them. I think I've made progress over the past few years. I forced myself into cognitive behavioral therapy, by going to Uni late at 27, at the other side of the country. Big shock to the system for me. Was entirely outside of my comfort zone, yet a huge help to me. There are various reasons for why I've changed and improved as a person, but a relevant one is recreational drugs.
Ok I'll cut the shit and get to why I made this post. I really like cocaine and am very open and chatty on it, like most tend to be. I feel like since I became a regular user, my sober self has declined in openness and chattiness. I think this is common too. Anyway, I need someone to speak to. I'm always in my head. I'm obsessive, always thinking about every little detail. I need a sounding board for my thoughts. I have no one in my life who can be this. I have family members I live with or near to, whom I used to be very close with, but can no longer speak to, for crazy reasons. I can't speak to my friends about this, as I don't have many left, our relationships mostly exist via WhatsApp, and I can't burden them with all my shit.
So, while high, I booked an NHS appointment with a therapist. While high, I was very open and willing to talk about anything. A therapist seemed like a great idea. But obviously, when the appointment came around, I was sober, and unable to talk. I cancelled the appointment on the phone, at the start of the conversation. I assured her that I was fine, and no longer needed to talk. I work a 9-5 Mon-Fri. I've been banned from drinking while at my house, for no good reason (genuinely). This is relevant because I need the drink to take away the anxiety of the coke. I'm fully aware that this is bad shit for my health. But one problem at a time. Anyway, I'm trapped. I need to find a way to schedule in a therapy appointment outside of work hours, where I'm free to self-medicate with alcohol and coke. I really wish alcohol had no scent.
I'm sure this post makes me look like an idiot, but I can justify everything. I'm not saying I don't do anything wrong; but I am saying that I have honest and good intentions, and that the things I do that are wrong, are to fix an even worse wrong. I'm happy to go into more detail. I'm not sure what I even expect in terms of responses.
I'm from England, and thank you for reading!

2024.06.02 09:00 FedericoScintille Denouncing black fraternities and sororities because of Christianity

Over the past few years there’s been a trend of members of black sororities and fraternities denouncing/renouncing membership in the organizations based on “idolatry” and pagan symbols and conflicts with Christianity. The most recent was a student at Howard University who renounced her membership in Delta Sigma Theta, and in the process revealed secret elements of the initiation. There’s not a university in the country where the black Greek scene is more serious than at Howard; a number of the organizations, including Delta, were founded there. So this was kind of a big deal.
71% of black Americans identify as Christian, and the membership in these organizations reflect that. Rev MLK Jr and Rev Senator Raphael Warnock were both inducted into Alpha Phi Alpha. A few of the organizations explicitly reference Christianity in their founding principles. These institutions and “the black church” have existed alongside each other in a black community for over a century at this point.
So it seems weird to me that I see this recently, and it suggests that younger black Americans,or at least a small segment of them, are being fed a very fundamentalist version of Christianity.

2024.06.02 08:57 WatchfulHeaven1 Deck Dilemma: Azorius... Control? I'm pretty sure it counts as a control deck.

So I've been playing Magic as most do: on and off throughout the years. I got myself back into it due to a cousin who's a state away. I have more recently gotten some of my friends into it. According to Steam and adding the app, I have roughly 85 hours in it over the past... year (I know, cut me some slack). 30 of those hours have been in this week and I've been experimenting with my decks and favorite playstyles.
And I think I've found it: Being Annoying. Annoying to the point where not even I'm having fun and am just there to see my opponent suffer, whether that be a deck that mills every card my opponent has or a deck that can get my health into the high hundreds with crash-inducing multiplying tokens on the board.
Most recently, however, I've found one I like the most. My lovingly named Azorius deck: COUNTER-SPELL. I'll give you three guesses about what it's about and the first two don't count.
Here's the deck and my main problem with it below. The cards in brackets are cards my ADHD brain added while I was typing this and looking through my collection and therefore are not part of the current win condition, but I thought they would just help the deck based off their descriptions with zero testing, sorry.
Creature Spells: (12[15])
Non-Creature Spells: (68[71])
Land:(40){I just had basic Lands originally}
Yes yes, I know, and have been told multiple times by my friends. I am a bad person. So this deck is a stall deck more or less. Have all the enchantments lock down the opponent while building up land and usually the namesakes of the deck - Counterspells. You get your big Creatures, hopefully the Terrors, Brinefangs, or the Mindbreaker and keep them alive from any shutdown spells with the counters. Extra points if you get the Ceratops for the double strike. So it's either the opponent just losing to damage, or losing the battle of attrition which Terisian Mindbreaker speeds up.
It has obvious counters with faster starting/rush decks... and Phrexians, usually involving incubation, but that's just because I'm too stupid to make the best use of my exiles and nothing else. I feel like it's a solid deck.
There's just one tiny problem, at least when I play it. I never get any land, the idea is great, but when put into practice it never seems to work. It's not even a 'not enough land for the 8 mana spell' it's just a 'it's my 11th turn and I have 3 land on the field'. If it was less frequent I wouldn't even be making this post. This is my first real reddit post and it's over this. If it was less frequent I'd understand, everyone has bad draws, but it's a third of my deck, and it consistently doesn't give me any. It doesn't give me any excess land, no no no, it's either have some land and get it at a slow but consistent enough rate that you're almost dead when you can actually play stuff or it's a barren wasteland with no water and the sun has been blotted out for decades.
Like I said before, I feel like its a solid deck, or at least it can be if I fixed it, but I have no idea where the problem is. Whether it's the bloated deck size, not enough lands, or if I'm simply not bribing the Arena Shufflemy luck has just been horrendous with this deck.
I think I just made this mainly to vent but I'm not at the point in my Magic skills to figure out what to do sans scrapping the entire deck, y'know? I'd appreciate some advice about it, because it just has me stumped.
I'll restate that this is my first serious post and first MagicArena post so I don't know if this counts as a Deck or a Question Flair. and I'll edit this out once I'm sure of which one it is. and double check spelling uh... tomorrow, soon to be later today.
TLDR: OP has a massive skill issue.
