Comprehensive review of Japanese roasters from a resident
My bean preference is clean coffees so I'm very used to drinking washed. I also drink naturals but I find that I don't always like them. The comments are mainly about pourover, but I also included some comments about espresso. I arranged this review into three sections:
(1) Roasters whose cafes I have visited and whose beans I have bought before
  • Onibus (and About Life)
  • Coffee County
  • Light Up
  • Woodberry
(2) Roasters whose cafes I haven't visited but whose beans I have bought before
  • Lilo
  • Söt
  • Kurasu
  • Obscura
  • Aoma
(3) Roasters whose cafes I have visited but whose beans I haven't bought yet
  • Verve
  • White Glass
  • Sol's
  • Saza
  • Coffee Swamp
  • Fuglen

Onibus (and About Life)

Location: Tokyo (Shibuya, Meguro, Jiyugaoka, Setagaya), Tochigi
Onibus Jiyugaoka
About Life Shibuya
  • Beans bought: Ethiopia Yirgacheffe, Kenya, Ethiopia Decaf - all washed
  • Drinks bought: Ethiopia Yirgacheffe washed, Colombia anaerobic, etc.
  • Bean variety: 3/5
  • Roast quality: 3/5
  • Value for money: 4/5
  • Cafe experience: (Jiyugaoka 5/5, Meguro and Shibuya 3/5)
I have a soft spot for Onibus because theirs was the first bag I bought that I felt like was high quality and yet not too expensive either. I’ve adopted their recipe too and have been using it for several months already. I only applied minor tweaks along the way.
I’ve had so much fun doing various testings with that 1 kg Yirgacheffe, and I can’t remember any bad brew. That bag solidified what’s tea-like to me.
The Kenya is not the best, which is unfortunate because it’s my favorite origin country. It was a little roasty when I cupped it, but it’s still good nevertheless.
Their decaf was the best decaf I’ve ever had so far. But of course the bar isn’t that high. It’s not mindblowing but I could have easily mistaken that it’s not decaf. During cupping though, it was pretty obvious because it had weaker notes.
AFAIK, they own About Life which also brews other Japanese roasters’ beans. Funnily enough, I’ve had better pourovers from About Life than Onibus itself.
Side note: I recommend Onibus Jiyugaoka's burger. I'm not a burger enthusiast lol, but that burger is oozing with flavors. It's a well thought-out dish.

Coffee County

Location: Tokyo (Shimo-Kitazawa), Fukuoka
The orange drink was pretty nice too.
  • Bags bought: Kenya, Colombia - all washed
  • Drink bought: El Salvador SL28 natural
  • Bean variety: 4/5
  • Roast quality: 5/5
  • Value for money: 5/5
  • Cafe experience: 5/5
I first got wind of Coffee County at an SCA Japan expo. They set up their bean selection to facilitate a mini-cupping, and I remember being amazed at how clean their coffee was. Keep it mind that since this is an expo, everybody else was serving their best which means Geisha and/or anaerobic stuff. After a while, I got tired of the same profile from various roasters. So Coffee County's selection really shone.
After some time, I bought beans from them and I like how smooth and flavorful those beans were. Usually Kenya is my favorite, but that Colombia was really interesting too. I've had their beans everyday that time and I didn't get tired of them. I still have a little in my freezer after—checks notes—5 months. I like to keep good coffees in my freezer so I can mix things up when I'm getting tired of my current selection.
Coffee County has been killing it with competitions lately: Rwanda challenge, Cafec brewers cup, and I think Aeropress competition too a while back. I'm especially impressed with the Rwanda challenge that they had to compete with other excellent Japanese roasters using the same green and they won first place.
I went to their cafe recently and I love the brick aesthetics of their shop in Shimo-Kitazawa. They offer a free drink with an order of a bag of their beans. When I came, the barista spoke to me in Japanese, but a friend who was buying beans at a different time said they spoke in English, which is funny because my friend was much better in Japanese compared to me.
I ordered a natural El Salvador because I noticed the varietal is SL-28 and I love Kenyan coffee. To my slight disappointment though, I still prefer Kenyans. The El Salvador didn't have any defect whatsoever, I just prefer the taste profile of Kenyans.

Light Up

Location: Tokyo (Kichijoji, Shimo-Kitazawa, Mitaka)
Light Up Kichijoji
Pourover tasting set
I wanted to buy an espresso cup but unfortunately it's not for sale.
  • Drinks bought: Rwanda, Colombia, Costa Rica, Uganda (all washed)
  • Bags bought: Natural Ethiopia, Natural Burundi, Washed Guatemala
  • Bean variety: 4/5
  • Roast quality: 5/5
  • Value for money: 5/5
  • Cafe experience: Kichijoji 5/5
I recently have been enjoying Light Up. During my first time, I ordered a Rwanda that was very juicy, something similar to a juicy citrus fruit that makes you crave for more. It’s not a unique flavor or anything. It was just so juicy. Walking in the neighborhood of Kichijoji while drinking this cup is now a memory stamped in my brain. It has set my expectation of Rwandan coffee and eventually led me to joining the cupping of identical Rwandan greens by 10 roasters.
In my second time, I got a tasting set of Costa Rica, Uganda and Colombia. They classify their coffees and in this case it was soft, juicy and sweet respectively. All three were really good and clean, about the same level of Coffee County, so my comments are more of a nitpick but I’m happy to be served by any of the three. The Costa Rica starts out with a gentle acidity but ends a little bit hollow kinda like tea. The Uganda being SL-28 was interesting, and had a similar profile with the Rwanda but imo lacks the body to be called juicy. It also has a mild bitter aftertaste. The Colombia was indeed sweet and was the most enjoyable of the three.
I also ordered an espresso as I am exploring light roast espresso. They gave me a ¥100 discount since it’s my second order for the day. The beans they used was the same Costa Rica. It was pretty good, not mindblowingly good, but something that can certainly be enjoyed. It might be the best light roast espresso I’ve had yet. It had just the right acidity with substantial sweetness, very different from a medium roast. It has a thinner body tho.
I’ve experimented quite a bit with light roast espresso at home using my Robot but so far I found that the effort is not worth it for me. Light Up’s light roast espresso has then become something of a goal, altho I suspect that ultimately I can’t achieve it with my mere Kingrinder K6.
All in all, I’ve had a very enjoyable time at Light Up. I’ve chatted with the baristas a little bit and they were patient enough to entertain my low-level Japanese. I wanted to buy a 500g bag but it was not available at the shop so I ended up signing up for subscription days later. It seems like a pretty sweet deal with ¥3600 for 3-150g for this level of quality. And it's free shipping within Japan by the way.
As of writing, I had just received the three bags and I immediately cupped them. I'm very pleased as it's even better than what I had in the cafe. The Ethiopia Chelchele was very delicious all throughout, and even my wife who doesn't drink black coffee loved it. The closest descriptor I could think of is blueberry but the roaster note said dry cranberry. In any case, it's probably the cleanest natural Ethiopia I ever had. The Burundi and Guatemala aren't bad either. The natural Burundi was leaning towards fermented notes but had a sweet and short aftertaste. The washed Guatemala was more balanced and had red apple notes. (Interestingly it was what I wrote as a flavor note during blind cupping and what the roaster also wrote.)

Woodberry

Location: Tokyo (Shibuya, Meguro, Setagaya, Suginami, Kanagawa)
View from the bar.
I love the lingering almond taste.
  • Bag bought: Classic blend
  • Drinks bought: Classic blend long black, Ethiopia decaf long black, Ethiopia decaf latte
  • Bean variety: 4/5
  • Roast quality: 3/5
  • Espresso quality: 5/5
  • Value for money: 5/5
  • Cafe experience: Shibuya 4/5
I also first got wind of Woodberry in the SCA Japan expo. I remember the top tier being great, but the lower tier having some roasting defects. Tbh, what stuck with me wasn’t the coffee quality, but the level of customer service they had.
I remember the barista being so welcoming and was detailed in the explanations. He spoke in English, so that was even better for me. He was able to answer my questions too. I think someone in japanlife mentioned that they have great espresso, so I took note of that until I was able to try their drinks at the cafe.
They don’t have a straight espresso on their menu, but they have a long black which they specifically mentioned had a low water ratio so it was the one I ordered. I have to say theirs is the best medium-dark roast espresso I’ve had outside of my shots at home. (I believe enthusiasts have all the freedom to tweak the recipe to their liking and so given the right skill, they should be able to brew better than the baristas in cafe who are much concerned with efficiency. Anw, sorry for the segue.)
As I listed, the bean itself was nothing special, it was their own blend which was leaning into medium-dark territory, but man, the almond chocolate notes and aftertaste was something to crave for. I bought the same beans and pulling a shot using the Robot, it's able to deliver lovely shots that almost taste like a hot chocolate.
As for the cafe, I love that at least their Shibuya cafe is not too busy. I recommend hanging out at the bar. Whenever I go, I bring an ipad to work a little, but they seem to be welcoming to regulars as I always hear the barista talking to someone at the bar.

Lilo

Location: Osaka

I like their packaging very much.
It's as delicious as it looks.
  • Bags: Ethiopia Guji medium-dark natural, Kenya washed, Thailand natural, Mexico decaf, Ethiopia Yirgacheffe
  • Bean variety: 5/5
  • Roast quality: 4/5
  • Value for money: 4/5
Lilo opened my eyes to liking darker roast for pourover. Okay not dark, but medium-dark roast. I’ve had Gujis before and I think their interpretation is the best. There's a lot of sweet blueberry notes that is unlike any other dark roast. When brewed right, there’s no roastiness at all. I used to experiment with different recipes like my own with a lower temp or Lilo’s osmotic flow, but it turns out the best way to brew it is using full immersion. No effort, but all of the sweetness appears and none of the roastiness. It’s so good I’ve had 1.5 kg already. I’ve brewed it for lots of people too including non-hobbyists and they all liked it.
It’s even better as espresso. Rich, sweet, intense blueberry flavor with just a subtle hint of acidity when dialed in. The aftertaste lasts for a couple of hours.
As for the other bags, Kenya is great. It’s standard vibrant acidity. Thailand was pretty interesting too, winey and raspberry notes. The Ethiopia Yirgacheffe was pretty light and okay, but maybe strawberry notes are not for me. The Mexico decaf is decent, but come on it’s decaf.
I have to say what I bought were pretty much at the lower and mid tier of their offering. I’m very curious of their one Colombia that has Kyoho grape as a note, because I like Kyohos a lot. It was way above my budget though, so maybe next time.

Söt

Location: Osaka

https://preview.redd.it/mvrxrjwjzlyc1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e65a10021105df7030c6d36fe85d4201d7ecdbb
  • Bags bought: Colombia Huila pink bourbon washed, Colombia natural, Gutemala honey, Kenya, Mexico decaf
  • Bean variety: 5/5
  • Roast quality: 4/5
  • Value for money: 2/5
It has been quite a while since I last got beans from Söt since it’s really expensive. Their bean selection is definitely interesting though. The ones I remember were leaning to winey notes and quite hard to express into words. My wife liked the Guatemala as a cafe au lait too, as she says there’s a unique deliciousness that cuts through. I definitely recommend them for tourists and they’re quite underrated. They’re in the more developed roast, although still not quite dark.
Their advertising bothers me though. They show that their coffees have a high Coffee Review scores, which I fount out isn’t a credible website. Make of that what you will. Personally I find that kind of advertising unnecessary since they already have excellent beans and great roast quality.

Kurasu

Location: Kyoto

https://preview.redd.it/jgx38mnnzlyc1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=78db68a4e25916af405859713d06f0d18b30283b
  • Bags bought: Honduras washed, Kenya washed
  • Bean variety: 4/5
  • Roast quality: 5/5
  • Value for money: 3/5
Kurasu is one of the more expensive roasters, so so far I’ve only ordered from them once. I was very excited to try their beans since they’re frequently mentioned in the sub even from those who live in the US.
The Kenya I had from them was the best Kenya I’ve had so far. I’m a sucker for Kenya beans and I guess my standard is high, so that says a lot. The notes were cherry sweetness and some umami. It’s personally nostalgic for me as it reminds me of a local cherry I used to enjoy as a kid in my home country. Once I brewed the perfect cup and the syrupy sweet after taste lasted for several hours.
The Honduras was also great. Very clean and tea-like. The notes say persimmon and there’s some hint of that. Tbh tho, it took me a long time to finish this bag, but I think it’s more of a preference thing. I like tea-like cups once in a while, but it’s definitely not a daily thing for me. Interestingly, this was the bean I had that was still great after four months (1 month in bag, 1 month in freezer, 2 months out again). I posted about it before but I was downvoted into oblivion lol.
While I love the quality of Kurasu, it’s just hard for me financially to order consistently. I consider beans above ¥1000/100g on the expensive side and basically all of their offerings are above that even if I order a kilo. So because of that I gave them a lower rating for value.

Obscura

Location: Tokyo (Setagaya, Shibuya), Hiroshima

https://preview.redd.it/ewkp9wjpzlyc1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5da5962f83e5f1ef9df43d1bc0de35648c02d191
  • Bags bought: Colombia, Burundi, Rwanda, El Salvador - all washed, Costa Rica honey
  • Bean variety: 3/5
  • Roast quality: 2/5
  • Value for money: 3/5
Obscura was one of the first roasters I bought from. Their beans are generally more developed, probably around medium to medium-dark, of which I was okay with, at the time. Even now I can still drink more developed roasts for espresso. However, I gave them a low score in roast quality because of inconsistency. I ordered the same Burundi in separate occasions; but it did not taste like the same coffee. Furthermore, there may have been roasting defects in some of the bags. Of the beans I ordered, only the El Salvador was standout. Their beans are not expensive, but since the roast quality isn't on par with many roasters, I've given them 3/5 for value.

Aoma

Location: Osaka

https://preview.redd.it/mdqw45fuzlyc1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4a16b04d926f7794fb07aae6d59a0704189219c3
  • Bag bought: Rwanda washed
  • Bean variety: 3/5
  • Roast quality: 5/5
  • Value for money: 4/5
As I mentioned, a couple of months ago I joined a cupping of identical Rwandan greens roasted by 10 Japanese roasters. It was quite difficult to differentiate the coffees as expected, but in the end two coffees stood out imo: Aoma’s and Coffee County’s. While almost everyone had the same profile of orange notes, these two had a lot more sweetness. Between the two, I slightly preferred Aoma’s roast but Coffee County was the champion of that competition. Aoma was second.
I then ordered a bag of the same coffee. True enough, it’s what I’m looking for: juicy ripe orange notes. It's not really a rare taste profile, but I like how sweet and how easy it is to drink. I've tried pulling espresso shots too, but it was quite challenging to pull light roasts on my Robot. The turbo shots I had was decent, but I was not able to dial in for maximum sweetness.

Verve

Location: Tokyo (Shinjuku, Roponggi, Ebisu, Yoyogi), Kamakura

Verve Shinjuku
  • Bean variety: 3/5
  • Pourover quality: 2/5
  • Espresso quality: 4/5
  • Value for money: 3/5
  • Cafe experience: Roponggi 5/5, Ebisu 4/5, Shinjuku 3/5
At my first and second time at Verve, I bought pourover but found it underwhelming. The first one was a lower tier Guatemalan at Roponggi and the second, the most expensive option which was a Colombian at Shinjuku. Unfortunately both were underwhelming as they were muted. Could have been a ratio or brewer issue, not sure.
I still kept coming because their locations are quite convenient. It's also an easy place to hang out in, kinda like SB that you know there's always an available seat. I now just order espresso drinks and I recommend their espresso tonic. This drink set me on an exploration to replicate their recipe. I think it's not hard and someone I know said my recipe is even better (haha not sure maybe he was biased). Their straight espresso is pretty decent too. It seemed like somewhere in the medium roast, a little underextracted but not too sour.

White Glass

Location: Tokyo (Shibuya)

https://preview.redd.it/panodrhwzlyc1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a5e3315e8efc26571b0d5f0147af67c7ad1c826f
  • Drinks bought: Ethiopia washed, Rwanda honey
  • Pourover quality: 2/5
  • Value for money: 3/5
  • Cafe experience: 4/5
White Glass is more of a restaurant with a decent specialty coffee offering. I like to bring my wife here to eat some sandwiches and have a good coffee. The Ethiopia I had did taste like blood orange, but was more on the tighter ratio side. The Rwanda on the other hand was muted.

Sol's

Location: Tokyo (Itabashi, Asakusabashi, Minato)

https://preview.redd.it/m91tofnyzlyc1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=31a8a2535ff3372ff716fd2fc82b64a70dad08ca
  • Pourover quality: 2/5
  • Value for money: 2/5
I heard of Sol's from a video of Kurasu about the owner making a Japan-made manual espresso machine. I thought the pouring technique of the barista was interesting as it was like the earth rotating on its axis and revolving around the sun. They also had a thermometer and used it as a stirrer to cool down the cup for proper drinking temperature. In the end, I was underwhelmed by the drink as it was muted. Take this review with a grain of salt though since I only went once and it was not even a main location.

Saza

Location: They have a lot of locations, but the one I went to was in Shinagawa (Tokyo).

https://preview.redd.it/k9xhs2yzzlyc1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5d21b6851c0fb9281245af50dd6db7598bddc0ad
  • Espresso quality: 3/5
  • Value for money: 5/5
  • Cafe experience: 2/5
Saza was a recent discovery of mine. I'm sure I saw their cafes in Google Maps before, but I disregarded them because I thought they were kinda second-wavey based on how they look. (Second wave is a little different in Japan though.)
Anyway, what made me check them again is when I learned that this year's Japan Brewers Cup Champion works for them. He recently won 2nd place in the finals of World Brewers Cup too.
The one I went to was just a corner in a supermarket in the busy station of Shinagawa. I thought it's interesting that they brew their single origins using the siphon. In any case, I was in a rush so I got an espresso. It was pretty good, though it would have benefitted with a little bit more extraction.

Coffee Swamp

Location: Tokyo (Shinjuku)

https://preview.redd.it/ll628b220myc1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9e596cd1451713eb93547256f5c4c247957d0985
  • Espresso quality: 4/5
  • Cafe experience: 4/5
Coffee Swamp is a pretty obscure shop. It was in the middle of a neighborhood, and when I came, it's as if the owner was holding a religious ceremony or something lol. It was not a large place and there was a number of people, so I guess it was hard not to be self-conscious.
I ordered an espresso that time because I was "training" my palate, and boy did it delivered. The owner served me a light roast espresso and I remember it being very acidic but it was not repulsive at all, so there must have been substantial sweetness that balanced it out.
Although I was self-conscious, I love obscure cafes like this and the jazz music was certainly a plus.

Fuglen

Location: Tokyo (Shibuya, Asakusa, Hanegi Koen), Kanagawa, Fukuoka

I was very caffeinated that day.
  • Bean variety: 3/5
  • Aeropress/filter quality: 3/5
  • Espresso quality: 2/5
  • Roast quality: 3/5
  • Value for money: 3/5
  • Cafe experience: Hanegi Koen 5/5, Asakusa 4/5
Like in Verve, I like hanging out in Fuglen. I recommend their tasting flight which includes a hand brew, batch brew and an espresso. Their drinks are consistently mid, no brewing defects, but not very exciting either. I've gone three times in their two locations and I must say their hand brews don't differ much in taste. It's probably because of their choice of brewer being the Aeropress. Fuglen is a pretty busy place so they must be optimizing for consistency.
When it comes to espresso, I appreciate that they use a lighter roast, altho imo, it's very underextracted. Drinkable but not much sweetness to balance out the acidity.

Final words

If you've read all the way, thank you. I didn't realize it would take me weeks to write all these, so I appreciate the effort in reading it all the way. Feel free to share your experience as well.

2024.05.05 08:15 mclarke77 The Wall

I’m trapped. I can hear that thing lumbering through the hallway. My God, what the hell is it?The soft scratching of my pencil sounds deafening in the quiet of this tiny closet. I’m almost certainly gonna die in this place. I just hope someone can find this, maybe it will do some good. Or maybe it already doesn’t matter. I’m not sure how long I have until that wheezing thing finds me. Oh Jesus, or that grey stuff might ooze under the door and dissolve me. Oh my God! What it did to Benny, Sammy, Jonesy and Donald! To all of them! Even if I don’t survive, the world needs to be warned!

Long story short, I was a cop but I got shot in the head. The doctors said I was lucky, that it went straight through without hitting anything vital. However, I still needed three steel plates to hold my skull together. Also ended up with permanent tremors in my right hand and a nasty scar just under my eye. So, it’s no surprise that my cop career didn’t thrive. Just a year later I was a “retired” 45-year-old cop, living off scraps. After a few months, I started to get desperate for work. One evening while out with my friend, Graham, he mentioned something about some private research institute in the Mojave Desert. “What, are they still blowing A-bombs out there?” I scoffed, eyebrows arched with bemused incredulity. Graham stared down at his beer, “Not sure what the hell they do. But they pay super well, so who cares,” he took a long sip of beer, foam clinging to his lips, “I think it would be a good fit for you”.

Turns out this facility, and it really is known as the “Facility”, was located in the middle of nowhere. When I looked it up I couldn’t find any information at all. Later that week I called the number that Graham had scrawled down for me on a beer stained napkin. My right hand wasn’t good with delicate tasks so when I dialed the number I had to use my left hand. The phone rang twice before a metallic voice answered and said to hold for an operator. After a few seconds of muted elevator music, I spoke to a soft voiced woman who told me my skill set was perfect for their current vacancy: a security management position. Her voice was soothing, “Your credentials are excellent. If you like I can fax some forms and a draft contract over, and we can pay for you to fly on up to see us in person. I’m certain you’ll get offered the job.”

She was right. One flight and several NDAs later, I was employed again! By the time I started my new job I realized I had no idea what research went on down here. During the interviews my duties as a security manager had been discussed but any mention of their actual research interests had been carefully omitted. On my first day I asked others about the nature of the Facility’s research, but no one had any interest. “Just stick to your contract. No point in rockin’ the boat,” my new boss, Sammy, said to me curtly. I’ve not discussed it since.

The part of the Facility which I managed was section B.15. This area was located several hundred feet below the sun scorched surface of the Mojave Desert. It comprised many green corridors peppered with tall wide doors made from dark, stainless steel. The rooms inside were large and sterile. Of course, whether or not we wanted to know the nature of the research, after patrolling some of the research labs for weeks, it wasn’t hard to figure out that the scientists were mostly archeologists. Or maybe paleontologists. I often found different objects lying around in various states of cleanliness. Some looked like ancient amphoras, or large stone bird baths or even fossilized remains. Others were less identifiable: a melted lump of some glimmering metal or large chunks of a glass-like material. I found this all extremely curious because, as far as I knew, the Mojave Desert didn’t have much in the way of ancient architecture. At least of any ancient civilization that I know.

As the months went by I started to get friendly with the other guards, most of them ex-cops too, and we played cards and drank Irish coffee in the evenings. My two main colleagues consisted of a jovial, short man with orange hair named Jonesy and a much older much grumpier and much balder man, Donald. They were good men and we had a lot of laughs together. My stomach twists when I think about where they are now. Though I grew fonder of my fellow guards, I found myself developing a severe dislike for the researchers. Most of them were mean and arrogant. The only scientist my security buddies liked was a scrawny guy named Benny. Our favorite thing about Benny was that he never talked about his work.

It was earlier, at 1400h, when all the scientists were running from their rooms. They must have received some message a few minutes before and we watched them from the surveillance monitors as they got all excited, their lab coats flapping and flowing as they made for the stairs. Soon after this, the large red landline phone near my desk began to ring. Expecting the call, I picked up the receiver before the first ring finished, “Hey boss, what’s all the excitement about?” Sammy’s voice was uncharacteristically anxious, “The diggers have found a friggin’ huge object out here! The biggest thing they’ve ever dug up. They want to bring it to B.15 so I need you to organize the logistics and security”. My brow furrowed, “I guess it’s too big for the main entrance? Maybe we could bring it in via the big doors of the auxiliary hangar?” she grunted with agreement, “Yea, we’ll have to improvise a bit but should be manageable. I’ll get some of the boys from B.10 and B.14 to help you out.” I nodded, “Thanks, see you soon”

Donald, Jonesy, some interns and I had coffee in the office and called the guards at the hangar doors to arrange clearance. About an hour later we met the guards from B.10. and B.14, together we climbed the many stairs to the hangar and waited for the cargo to arrive. The massive metal hangar doors had been opened, which was rare. What was more irregular was that nearly every staff member from sections B.09 to B.18 were all gathered together in a silent knot of people. Despite the silence the air sizzled with anticipation, as well as the searing heat. I stood transfixed from curiosity, waiting in the shade of the doorway as the relentless sun beat down outside. I squinted. In the distance I saw a black speck grow larger against the bright blue sky. Slowly it took the form of a helicopter with an enormous rectangular shaped mass dangling below it.

Within less than a minute the helicopter made its cacophonous approach toward the hangar and gently lowered the object onto a wide wooden scaffold. I barked orders and signed forms as the guards rushed about. The air was blaring with the sound of helicopter blades and sand rocketed into my face, forcing me to splutter. “Alright, let’s get this thing processed!” I yelled over the sound of the helicopter as its engines powered down. My colleagues and I wiped dirt from our faces. Sammy emerged swiftly from the chopper and shook my hand. Her hair was in its characteristic librarian-bun but her eyes were glassy. Had she been drinking? We quickly reviewed the paper work she gave me and then she made her way back downstairs to her office in section B.1. She was keen to get away for some reason.

As my colleagues cleared away most of the staff and the excitement died down I was finally able to take a moment to inspect the object. It had been lowered onto a wooden scaffold fitted with wheels and had been pushed slowly into the center of the hangar. The few aircraft in this hangar were all currently under repairs, leaving plenty of space for the object.

The object was a wall. It was rectangular and about twenty-five feet long, ten feet thick and twelve feet high. The wall first appeared made from boring grey stone. I even remember thinking, “It’s not even that big”. However, when I looked closer it was, alive. I barely noticed the helicopter take off and leave as I saw the wall’s surface bubble. The hangar doors began to close as the hairs on the back of my neck stood on end. A bead of sweat ran down my cheek and I thought I heard something. It sounded like someone far away calling my name. I felt a strange pressure around my head. A sudden invasive thought dug into my mind: throw yourself into the wall. I shuddered and held myself back despite the sudden strong desire. I heard the faint voice of Benny and crashed back to reality. My eyes snapped open and I found my nose an inch away from the wall. It radiated cold like an open freezer and it smelled like rotten clay. The surface of the wall simmered ever so slightly. It reminded me of the fizz of some grey effervescent medicine. I paled as I took a large step backward, “I.. uh, what is this?” I turned to face Benny who stood with another scientist. He glanced at her briefly before he approached the wall, “Honestly, we have no idea”.

I got Donald and Jonesy to help Benny transport the wall down to room 278B via the service elevator. Donald grumbled, “Guh, this thing smells like something my dog puked up”. Meanwhile Jonesy stared with eyes as large as saucers, “It looks so cool!” Once downstairs, I told Donald and Jonesy to take some forms to the admin department and I returned alone to my office to get some more coffee and file away the rest of the paperwork. I tried to put the strangeness of the wall out of my mind, but it had truly unnerved me. I felt so tired. As I sat at my desk facing the surveillance monitors I was unable to fight the force fusing my eyelids together.

I’ve been hungover a lot, but when I woke up at my desk I’d never felt quite so singularlyawful. My clothes were soaked with sweat and my whole body felt exhausted. My arms felt like molasses. My forehead throbbed and I was bruised. I also felt a weird pressure squeezing my head from all sides. I sat back in my seat and rubbed my eyes.

Then I froze.

A hand was lying motionless on the floor just behind the table at the center of the room. I leapt to my feet and rushed forward. I gasped from horror as I saw Donald lying there, his chest sliced to ribbons. Gallons of dark scarlet stained his blue uniform. His eyes stared up empty and terrified. Pallid and shaking I ran to my landline to call for backup immediately. As the receiver met my ear my stomach dropped into my feet.

The line was dead.

I was so confused. We had lots of fail safes to ensure communication remained enabled, but the line was dead and there was no sign of any response. I rushed back to the monitors. The cameras were all operating normally. I started to breathe heavily. I couldn’t see anyone. The corridors were green and bare. I looked at the clock. It was 1817h. I had slept for about two hours. But where was everyone? Where were the janitors? My heart was hammering in my chest and my head was throbbing. My eyes narrowed with a sudden thought. Where was that wall?

I searched for the wall and found it was back in the hangar! It sat upon the bare ground right by the massive doors. However, the doors were sealed. The wall itself looked different. It was absolutely enormous! Just over two times longer and taller and wider. Just then, I realized that the titanium blast doors had been sealed as well. My heart rate doubled as I noticed large dents, scorch marks and scratches all over the doors. The hangar floor was covered in blood. My God, I even saw a rocket-launcher lying blackened and fractured near the doors. What the hell had happened?

I spun my head to look at the security panel on the wall to my left. My heart, already racing, felt like it leapt out of my mouth. My eyes grew wide as I realized Donald must have activated a quarantine procedure. This meant that the entire Facility would be sealed airtight. The only way to open any doors now was from the outside. My God! Why had he done this? Where was everyone? Did I really sleep through all this? Where was Jonesy? I looked back at Donald, my heart still racing from seeing his dead eyes stare into mine. I sighed sadly and glanced at the clock on the wall. It was now 1831h. I returned to the monitors and began to rewind the security footage.

Surveying the screens, I watched my past-self enter the security office at around 1600h. By 1610h I had passed-out on my chair, drool dangling from my mouth. “Ok, so let’s see where the wall was at that time. Should be room 278B.” I thought to myself aloud as I clicked on the button that displayed the footage of room 278B and the surrounding corridors. The screens were black as the footage loaded and I was about to hit the play button but hesitated. Did I really want to see this? I closed my eyes and took a few slow breaths. I have to know. I hit play.

The camera was located opposite the door giving a full view of the room. At first everything was normal. It was 1623h when they were unstrapping the wall. A loud popping sound was heard and the researchers spun around. The lights in the room dimmed and flickered. Suddenly something long and slimy exploded from the flesh of the wall. It wrapped around Benny and pulled him in. He screamed in terror as he vanished, his cries immediately silenced.

Without realizing it I was instantly on my feet, shaking my head in pure denial. My heart burst. What the hell was that? What the hell? What the hell? My head was full of static. I felt tears in my eyes as I watched guards and researchers rush into the room. The wall shimmered, it’s simmering surface began to boil and bubble and it grew a few inches higher. I saw it reshape itself so that intricately carved figures appeared on the wall’s edge. I leant in closer and gasped. One of those figures looked just like Benny, his mouth stretched into a permanent scream. The guards and researchers were horrified by what they saw. Suddenly, without warning, their body postures relaxed, their eyes grew glassy, and their arms fell slack at their sides. Those within the room moved as if sleepwalking. Some stayed still while others left the room. Brow furrowed from confusion and fear, my eyes swiveled to the footage of the corridors outside. The guards and researchers that had just exited 278B immediately began attacking and grappling those around them. I yelped as a vacant-eyed guard lazily shot another man in the leg. The thrall then dragged the wounded guard into room 278B. The mad guard held the wounded guard’s leg fast as he casually walked into the grey wall, pulling the struggling man in behind him. During this altercation I noticed Donald, he was hiding behind the corner of the corridor at the far end and was firing his gun at the thralls. He didn’t manage to hit anyone though. He then ran over to help a stray research intern to her feet and then they both ran down the corridor and out of view.

I could still hear the pleas for mercy as those who fell victim to the thralls were dragged into that horrifying wall. With every person it swallowed, the wall wriggled and grew. More ghastly decorations began to bloom on its surface, all of them made from the bones or likenesses of those absorbed. The bigger it got the stronger its psychic influence became until it reached everyone in the Facility. I looked on in horror as one by one, all janitors, researchers, guards, diggers, admin staff, everyone stopped what they were doing, mid conversation, their eyes emptying. The janitors dropped their mops and buckets. Researchers dropped precious materials and equipment without care, letting them smash to pieces. In unison, with vacant expressions, they moved toward room 278B. Among the horde of thralls, I saw Sammy and Jonesy, and so many others I knew. A guy who’d held the door for me once, a researcher who always slurped her coffee at lunch. Hundreds of people! What filled me with an unnamable dread was that I knew what was gonna happen. I knew what was coming. I tried to shout at the monitors, “Stop! Wait!” I grabbed the monitors and shook them with frustration.

A terror began to fill my stomach, deep and cold and aching. Suddenly I noticed Donald reappear on the screen. He was trying to hold back the intern he’d helped earlier, but it was useless. I saw Donald stare with incredulity as he sat defeated on the ground. Everyone else around him stumbled dreamily toward their doom. But Donald refused to give up. I saw him run from corridor to corridor, trying desperately to stop them. He threw chairs and tables in their way but they simply pushed them aside or jumped over them. I saw him run toward this office. I saw him enter, saw myself slumped on my chair still completely unconscious. I saw Donald try to shake me awake, he slapped me a few times and was yelling in frustration. He gave up with me eventually and ran over to activate the quarantine lockdown. I saw him tear down the hall back toward room 278B, pistol in hand.

As soon as Donald got close to 278B a long pale tendril burst through the door directly into his chest. The tentacle had a hooked end and it slashed him. I saw blood spurt out of him, saw him stumble and fall to the ground. However, he still managed to get a hold of his gun and fired multiple shots at the tendril. It writhed and flailed. Donald took this opportunity to climb to his feet. He grimaced and clasped his chest as crimson leaked to the floor. He moved back down the corridor. Eventually he got back to the office. He locked the door and, still fumbling with his keys, attempted to open the ammunitions cupboard. Before he could find the right key, he cursed and then collapsed. I cried out in frustration. That whole time I was completely useless!

My mind felt like static again for a few seconds. I couldn’t work out what my next move should be. A thought hit me hard. Why had Donald and I not been psychically affected by the wall? Everyone had been enslaved. Why not Donald? And me? My eyebrows shot up into my receding hairline with sudden realization. “Shit, the steel plates in my head!” And Donald had a steel plate in his skull too because of a rock-climbing accident he had in his 20s. When I got close to the wall, had it sensed my resistance? Had it tried to incapacitate me? If so, it meant the thing possesses sentience.

While I pondered this, I noticed some thralls re-strap the wall in room 278B. They transported it to the elevator and back up to the hangar. Once there, the thralls moved the wall off the scaffold onto the floor and began to beat heavily on the large metal doors with bare fists. Some even shot at the doors with their handguns. The ricochets killed a few of them but not one single person even noticed. Some of the guards even used a rocket launcher! I yelled with shock as they fired at deadly close range, lazily blowing themselves up, leaving the doors scorched. After this proved futile, the thralls all grew rigid. Next, they all formed a line in front of the wall and one shambling step after another, all the remaining employees were - assimilated. Even the dead and wounded were not spared. Those still alive carried the corpses of their fellow thralls into the wall.

It was 1735h when the last employee disappeared forever into the grey horror, and the wall expanded to its current size. Without warning, a large mass of twisted limbs emerged from the wall. I gasped from horror. Its silhouette was about seven feet tall and thin and stretched. It had too many legs and it didn’t appear to have a head. This thing lumbered over to the doors and began to strike them with a strength and ferocity found only in a starving polar bear. I could tell that the doors were taking strain, and they began to bend, but even then, they did not yield. After just over half an hour of smashing the door, the creature stopped and slowly shambled toward the stairs. My heart froze. It was coming here! Or was it here already? I sat still for a moment and tried not to lose my mind completely. I swear I could hear Woody the woodpecker laughing somewhere in the distance. I needed to keep it together. I took a long deep breath and tried to think of a way out.

Summarizing the details of my predicament, I realized I was trapped alone inside the Facility with an otherworldly force. Also, even if I found a way out, I’d potentially be letting an evil into the world that could destroy all life. My eyes grew even wider and I grabbed at my hair, “But my God, if this thing gets out. If it gets into the minds of other people. If it gets larger and larger. Could it swallow the world?” I was talking aloud now; the sound of my voice gave a new clarity to my situation that made me shudder. I turned back to the monitor. It seems I was all caught up. I stared blankly into the screen while I watched my past-self wake and wince from pain. I switched the monitor off and saw my reflection in the blackness of the screen. I was pale and my eyes were sunken and unblinking. “What do I do now?” I turned in my chair to look at Donald’s body. “Poor Donald, he didn’t deserve this”, I muttered softly. My eyes moved from his body up to the ammunition’s cupboard just above. “Wait, was he trying to get into the cupboard earlier?”, I gasped with realization. “Holy crap, he was trying to get the bomb! Me and Donald were gonna use a left-over bomb from the excavation site to blow some random shit up!”

I stood up quickly and walked up to the cupboard. I opened the cupboard with little effort and found the twenty pounds of plastic explosive inside. It had already been set up with a sixty second timer and a remote detonator. I sat at the table with the explosive, a vague plan forming in my broken mind. “Maybe if I somehow get this wall-thing to eat this bomb then...”

Before I could formulate my thoughts fully, the lights flickered, and the entire Facility was plunged into darkness unceremoniously. My nerves burned with fear. What had happened? Had that thing knocked the power out somehow? The next few seconds that past were the longest I’d ever experienced. Eventually dim green light bloomed to life and the reserve power kicked in. Then I heard slow, shuffling footsteps in the corridor just outside the office. I froze once again, my insides turning to mush. My mind raced. Had I remembered to lock the door? My stomach leapt into my feet as I heard the shuffling get louder and louder. I heard hoarse, wheezing breaths, as if the thing struggled to breathe. I jumped from fright but remained absolutely silent as whatever the thing was banged on the door with a deafening blow.

BANG!

The door shook and bent slightly.

BANG!

Silence.

BANG!

My heart was hammering in my ears and I sat deathly still. I could hear that thing breathing louder. After a few moments I heard it shuffle away. My entire body was shaking as relief washed over me. I turned to look at the screens. Dare I turn them on and check what it was? After a few seconds I turned to the monitors and switched them on. I waited in nervous anticipation as they flickered to life showing me that all the corridors between me and the wall were currently empty. I didn’t bother checking the corridor I suspected the shambling thingwas in. I didn’t want to see it unless I needed to. I’d had just about all the stress and terror I could take and by this stage I felt weirdly calm. It must be shock. A thin sigh escaped me as I stood. The fear in my blood began to feed a furnace of anger in my heart. I thought about all those who I had lost. I felt my expression turn to granite, “It’s time to kill this thing.”

I opened the door slowly, my fully loaded gun in my good hand. Spare ammo along with the explosive and a sawed-off shotgun was stashed in my backpack, and the remote detonator was tied to my belt. I held a heavy-duty flashlight in my shaky right hand. I moved cautiously through the dark green corridors. I’d never thought of how creepy this place could be until this moment. Gooseflesh crept up my arms and neck as I continued. All I could hear were my soft footfalls and shallow anxious breaths. I cleared the corridors one by one until I made it to the stairs. I walked up the stairs carefully. I took one step. Then another. Slowly, I climbed. After many minutes, I was near the hangar. Then I heard the soft sound of crying.

Someone was crying. No. Many people were crying.

I stopped dead in my tracks. My entire body shook from the adrenaline surging through me. Once my head peeked over the top of the landing, I froze. The wall loomed gigantic before me. Its edges were now framed intricately with the skeletons of hundreds of people, all twisted and screaming in agony; tortured souls bound together. I could hear them all. They were all screaming. Screaming for me to join them. I felt that pressure squeeze against my skull tighter and tighter. I shook my head in defiance. “No! You bastard! NO! I will not join you!” All at once the moans and wails stopped. I suddenly found myself at the top of the stairs without knowing when I’d finished climbing them. “But you will” came the sound of hundreds of twisted voices fused into one. “We are them. We are all. We can be all. We will be all. All and all and more than all.”
A deafening blast came from the wall and slithering, tangled human limbs emerged. It had four legs and several arms. It looked like the bodies of eight or more people shuffled and glued into an otherworldly horror. Its multiple mouths screamed a high pitched roar that was pure torment, and its sharp pointed teeth gnashed and chomped. I only had a second to dodge. I leapt to the side and fired multiple shots at the thing’s center of mass. Its horrifying body of fused torsos wriggled and bled black ichor. It screamed with pain and jumped at me, grabbing my leg. It tossed me into the air and I slammed into the floor a few feet away. As I hit the ground I yelled in pain and heard something metallic smash. Before I could catch my breath, it was upon me again. From the ground I fired several shots at it. This made it jump away and scuttle down the stairs. I noticed immediately that the remote detonator had been smashed beyond repair. With the creature momentarily out of sight, I kneeled and took off my backpack as fast as I could. “Only one way then”, I said quietly as I pulled out the bomb and started the timer manually. I also got the shotgun out. I needed to do this now or never.
As the final shell clicked into place I heard a roar coming from the stairs. The thing was back. Before I could react, it leapt at me and knocked me to the ground. The bomb flew from my grasp. It bared down on me, grabbing at my throat ready to tear me apart. My reflexes saved me and I managed to use my shotgun to hold the thing at bay, but it was way too strong. Desperate, I kicked it hard in the chest and it let go. I used this moment to grab the bomb that lay behind me; only 37 seconds to go! Terrified and crazed, sweat pouring down my face, my mind in pieces, I rammed the bomb into one of the creature’s mouths and kicked it back again as hard as I could. I heard it yelp like a wounded dog and it lost its footing. It fell sideways and in that second, I took my shotgun and fired at it in the chest. The force of the close-range blast sent me flying. At the same time the creature was hurled back into the wall where it was enveloped quickly.
My head was fuzzy. I was dizzy and the wind had been knocked out of me. Was the bomb going to work? I felt something warm and wet drip into my ear and touched the side of my head. My fingertips came away soaked in blood. My head was spinning. With a foggy mind I grabbed my bag, collecting my weapons and flashlight. As I stood up I heard a low rumbling sound. The ground beneath my feet shook and for a moment I was confused. Then I looked up at the wall. Its surface was boiling like I’d never seen before. It was shaking and growing. I turned to run when suddenly there was a massive blast, and the entire wall exploded into hundreds of grey chunks. These rained down all around the hangar, smashing several aircrafts. The blast knocked me off my feet.
When I awoke I could see early morning light through the tiny cracks in the blast door. Where the wall had once been now stood a small blackened crater. I coughed and lifted my head to inspect the wall pieces and found that they – my mouth opened. They were melting. I watched in dumbfounded horror as the pieces began to merge, just like that scene from Terminator 2. It was rebuilding itself.
As I stood to run I heard a groan. My blood became ice.

I turned slowly in terror to find the shambling, wheezing monstrosity behind me. Like the creature I’d shot, this one seemed made from bits and pieces of human limbs knitted together randomly. This one had six legs which came out of its mouth, its head positioned within its torso where the bellybutton should be, and it wheezed in pain. I almost puked from fright but my feet were already carrying me away. I sprinted down the corridors, ignoring all the pain and fear and exhaustion and anger and frustration inside me. Without thinking, I leapt into the first janitor’s closet I found and locked the door. After catching my breath, I found this notepad and pencil, and have been writing this report in the sterile glow of my flashlight. Hopefully, I have left some useful information for anyone who may find this.

Now I lie in wait. What is that thing? If it can survive a bomb like that, what hope do we have? It’s no wall at all. It’s a membrane. An interface. Somewhere very different is pressing up against us. It has torn a small hole, and was now prying it open further.

So here I wait, hoping to be saved, but even as I write this I can hear that thing walking past the door. With a soft click I turn off my flashlight. I try not to breathe. I can hear the snuffling, it’s right outside!

Shit! Shit! I hear keys. The door is unlocking! How? How?

Oh God! The doorknob is turning...

FBNXT: Clash of the Champions
What's up, everyone? We're back for Round Two, and we're cooking on all burners with FBNXT's second show - Clash of the Champions, live from the NRG Stadium in Code Blue's hometown of Houston, Texas. With a great theme for the show in the form of Neverender by Justice and Tame Impala, we've got a card that's everything you could want out of a sequel. We've got more action, we've got more matches, we've got more great competitors ready to show out with a show that's stacked from top to bottom with legends and fresh blood alike. With four championships up for grabs and four further non-title bouts to set the stage for what's to come, we've got a lot to look forward to... so let's get right into it with an insane opener!

FBNXT World Heavyweight Title: Code Blue (c) vs. JOHN
We kick off the show with one hell of a bang, and not the kind JOHN's thinking about. Our opening bout will see the FBNXT World Heavyweight Title contested, with Code Blue putting the belt on the line in front of a rabid hometown crowd against the Misfit, who's gunning for a Heavyweight crown for the first time since BTE V's main event. Both men have been taking their own respective detours en route to this one - JOHN spent time chasing the FBNXT World Cruiserweight championship, watching it slip through his fingers and into Corey Youngblood's, as well as the IWF Brass Knuckles Title that he helped conceive, and now holds as the inaugural champion. Code Blue, meanwhile, has been locked in a war with Capital STEEZ, who seeks to invalidate the accolades of his former tag team partner turned bitter rival, leaving him mentally preoccupied against the completely honed-in JOHN. However, with the crowd most certainly on his side in the NRG Stadium, Code Blue's got a shot of achieving just what he set out to do at Discovery - successfully defending against the best that FBNXT has to offer. Will Houston's Finest fulfill the prophecy, or will JOHN finally ascend to the top of the mountain after years of coming so painfully close?

Clusterfuck Invitational for the King of Spoiler Chat Crown: Corey Havoc vs. Lucky Ali vs. Mark Steel vs. Maxxx Cleavage vs. Nitronic Y.A.K. vs. ???
Next up on the card is a match open to all comers, with the winner being officially dubbed the King of Spoiler Chat. With an already entertaining lineup set, a minimum of five gladiators will be duking it out in an unbridled, uncontrolled clusterfuck of epic proportions. Initially starting as Maxxx Cleavage returning to the ring against TCA's Mark Steel, new additions in the form of the re-debuting Corey Havoc, the debuting Lucky Ali and the always controversial Nitronic Y.A.K. have made for a gripping bout. If the stakes for victory in this match weren't high enough, however, the stakes for defeat are even higher - FBNXT management will be meeting with each of the competitors to determine their losing clause, which will typically be a variation of praising Tony Khan (for Nitro) or praising Triple H (for Hefty), publicly in Spoiler Chat. This is gonna be some good fuckin' fun, folks, so buckle up to watch or comment down below to take part!

Following that is another first come, first serve matchup, with two phenomenal opponents in the form of Apeirogone and Kaze Tanaka forming an even more formidable team. As will be revealed in segments to come, these two have formed quite a close friendship, and with both setting their eyes on the FBNXT World Tag Team Titles, they certainly need to notch a victory in their debut as a tandem. Keep your eyes peeled to see who answers, and who comes out on top in the first appearance of the All Japan Hostages!
Prompt: TBD (Max 2 Parts Per Person)

Guy Fawkes vs. Spiral
Following a great showing against Michael Menzies on Discovery in March, Spiral is back in action to take on the returning Guy Fawkes in an exciting cruiserweight showcase. We haven't seen Guy Fawkes in action since the onset of the CBL that he founded, and with his onetime retirement now in the rear view window, the question is whether or not we'll be seeing the former FBE Junior Heavyweight Champion returning to form - because he'll have to dig down deep to give Spiral a fight. However, this is Spiral's first interaction with a former FBE Champion that will actually go through, which is a career litmus test for many. It's sink or swim for both men here tonight, and the world is expecting great things out of both of them as they lock horns. Will Spiral continue to climb the FBNXT rankings, or will Guy Fawkes end up burning his competition and blowing up on the scene in a new promotion?
Prompt: Book an Former NXT Champion Returning to NXT (Max 1 Part)

Cactus Mike vs. Happy the Clown vs. Jason Beggs
Next up is a huge three way dance between three terrific competitors who have dominated their respective divisions in FBE, now looking to cement their status in their new digs of FBNXT. Perhaps the most successful former FBE Television Champion Cactus Mike throws his hat into the ring off a win over El Graduado at Discovery, while former FBE Pure Champion Jason Beggs debuts in FBNXT after going on a real heater, picking up wins over the likes of Joshua Epps and Logan Wright. Finally, former FBE World Heavyweight Champion Happy the Clown makes his first appearance in FBNXT as well, making for an explosive encounter between three of the world's best at middleweight. While it's not officially a number one contender's match, due to the potential desires of the competitors to move up or down in weight class, the winner will certainly make a solid case for being next in line for a shot at the FBNXT World Middleweight Title, setting high stakes for a blockbuster bout. Will the Heart of the Ark Cactus Mike continue his historic roll into yet another promotion, will Happy the Clown break back into the upper echelon after dialling back his time in the sport, or will Jason Beggs' presumptive retirement transform into another astounding victory?
Prompt: Book the Motor City Machine Guns in AEW (Max 2 Parts)

FBNXT World Cruiserweight Title: Corey Youngblood (c) vs. Dr. Logan Wright
The sixth match of the night is a rematch for the FBNXT World Cruiserweight Championship, pitting Discovery opponents Corey Youngblood and Dr. Logan Wright against one another with the gold on the line. While they first met in a triple threat, a stipulation in which the defending champion has an astounding track record, they're now meeting one on one in a much anticipated showdown, Corey knowing a win here will firmly establish his reign with a proper singles win over an esteemed foe. However, the stakes are just as high for Logan - while a win here grants him the gold, a loss will be just about as definitive as it gets opposite the Man of a Million Moves, and is sure to ice him out of contention for the title for some time. The Doctor is all too familiar with the idea of "do or die" in both of his lines of work, so he's sure to bring the fight to the champion, just as Youngblood is sure to do all he can to dispel his first challenger. There's no way out for these two, the spotlight on both to set the tone for one of FBNXT's most exciting divisions. With plenty of history between them, will this definitive matchup see Logan bring home another piece of gold in the hopes of establishing one more dynasty, or will Corey Youngblood be keeping the championship around his waist and moving on to the next phase of his reign?
Prompt: Book Orange Cassidy joining the Don Callis Family (Max 1 Part)

FBNXT World Tag Team Titles: Joshua Epps and Misery (c) vs. Tequila Inc (Corey Youngblood and Sebastian King)
With a big win over former TCA stablemates Mark Steel and Hunter Maguire under their belts, Joshua Epps and Misery carry the FBNXT World Tag Team Titles into a showdown with a long-established, on again off again duo in the form of a reunited Tequila Inc. While Sebastian King has been on a bit of a skid, they're still a formidable team, posing a huge threat to the new champions - although King will have to be making up for whatever damage Corey Youngblood sustains in his bout with Dr. Logan Wright as well. With four amazing talents in the ring, this is sure to be incredible as a contest, and with the additional stakes of Youngblood striving to become FBNXT's first double champion, it's all the more interesting. What will also be compelling is seeing how Tequila Inc get along; Epps and Misery have been a well-oiled machine for their entire partnership, dating back well over a year now, while Corey and Sebastian have spent time as both friends and enemies. Will Tequila Inc be able to keep it together and make history by claiming tag team gold, or will Epps and Misery be able to dispel another remarkably skilled team to cement themselves even further as the benchmark of tag team competition in the industry?
Prompt: Rebook the WWE Women's World Championship reign following Rhea Ripley's injury (Max 2 Parts Per Person)

FBNXT World Middleweight Title: Apeirogone (c) vs. Thaddeus Hemmingway
In the main event of FBNXT's second show, Ape defends his newly won FBNXT World Middleweight Title against an old friend from Cosa Nostra - one of the most dominant forces in the industry's history, long thought permanently dormant before being awakened by the Last OG's call. Now, despite the mutual respect between the two, Thaddeus Hemmingway is out for blood, wanting to return to his roots as the Franchise who ran roughshod over FBE while Ape hung back and acted as his Consigliere. With the assumption his career was to close out at FBE's Fifth Anniversary Show, Thad is coming in with nothing to lose, making him all the more dangerous - he doesn't really have to worry about tomorrow, while Ape's got a company he insists he has to carry on his back, regardless of the strength of the roster. Last time these two met, it was in the Stardom Gauntlet, with Ape managing to notch a win, but this time, Thad will be in his comfort zone - he'll be able to take his time adjusting to the Final Boss' signature deep waters, getting to show the next generation just what it takes to be the Franchise before making his move on yet another piece of gold. Between these two, this match is their thing, but only one will be able to call the FBNXT World Middleweight Title THEIR thing by the end of the night. When both men get the competition they've desired, will the Infinity Ace stay true to his theme of always winning the rematch, or will FBE's first double singles champion manage to collect the name that eluded him years ago?
Prompt: TBD (Max 3 Parts)

If there are extenuating circumstances, we'll figure them out, but I don't want people to be put at a disadvantage by not being able to use the additional time themselves, and I don't want extensions being sent with a small enough window that the request isn't seen. Otherwise, if there's any issue with the prompt or the deadline, feel free to sort out something new with your opponent and relay it to me. Good luck to everyone, and I'm looking forward to a great show! FBNXT F-F-F-F-FOR LIFE!

Three special things for u/stewblock2023
Hello, everyone! My name is u/Lazy_Arrival4516, and I have three special things for my friend u/stewblock2023! Yes, three of them. So let’s start off with the first one, which is an upcoming refreshed version of Toño Prada’s cartoon mural. You know? The mural created by Spanish graffiti artist Toño Prada for INCIBE while it’s inspired by three hybrid crossover Disney movies called Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Chip n' Dale: Rescue Rangers and Once Upon A Studio, as well as many other crossovers like Super Smash Bros., Peter Kay's Animated All-Star Band from Children in Need, The Children's Party at the Palace, every single bumper from Cartoon Network's 20th Birthday, the Simpsons and Family Guy crossover, and many other crossovers due to various iconic cartoon characters on it? Yep! But this time, it will be a blank longer version of the mural, with its gates having the same shape. It will have the same characters from the mural, but also, “more characters”. Plus, the characters will be completely white drawings with black bolder and no details when they’re in the base. Also, the drawings will have each number on them, representing more than 268 cartoon characters. But don’t worry! I’ll make sure that u/stewblock2023 will handle this, by painting the mural to what the fan-made version looks like! Here’s the numbered list of all the characters in order:

Also, one more thing. Why is Sheep staring at Weegee instead of staring at his baby carriage containing Impaeegee since both of these characters are creepy due to their faces? I have no words. BTW, the Blue and Pink image is created by hakurinn0215. Plus, here’s the image for it:
NOTE: I'm hard to add the drawings and numbers.
The next one is about Toño Prada’s cartoon mural again, but this time, with characters from animations by Joe (and Danielle Kogan)! The mural will have the same thing as the previous one, with a slight difference that the mural is now shaped like the original version of Toño Prada’s cartoon mural. Also, the drawings will have each number on them, representing more than 37 Ukinojoe characters. Also, the gates will not be painted because they’re going to be dark-brown like in Toño Prada’s cartoon mural. But let’s not forget the list:
  1. The Sphinx from The Last Dinosaur.
  2. Replacement Bully.
  3. Audrey & Victor.
  4. Jade.
  5. Indiada Jodes.
  6. Blonic (on a brick wall) and Blails.
  7. Potbot.
  8. The dancing dolphin from chillphin.
  9. Iron Bad.
  10. The We Gotta Get SpongeBob Back! version of Squidward.
  11. The Family Simp versions of Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin.
  12. The father and son from Spagettios.
  13. The Ukinojoe versions of Mike Wazowski and Sulley.
  14. The MOUSE FAN CLUB version of Mickey Mouse.
  15. Giwaffe.
  16. Frumplequest.
  17. The Hug the Bowz version of Mario.
  18. Unhappy Cat.
  19. The Great: The Show version of Fred Flintstone.
  20. A statue of Bowser.
  21. The dog on plane from Dog of Wisdom.
  22. Wall-E and Rob.
  23. Stacy from Martian by Mistake.
  24. Bella Caramella.
  25. The Family Simp version of Bart Simpson (on a nuclear bomb while holding a cowboy hat).
  26. Mojo Jojo (Mojo Oh No version only).
  27. The Literally Hitler version of Adolf Hitler (NOTE: the Literally Hitler version is way better than the original).
  28. Cheesy McWheelwagon.
  29. 90’s Nick.
  30. Mabel Pines (Brevity Falls version only).
  31. The Great: The Show version of Yoda.
  32. Rick Sanchez (Rick and Morty Parody version only).
  33. Pengis.
  34. The Rabbit version of Bugs Bunny.
  35. The cursed Shrek model from Cursed Shrek Scene.
  36. Frank from Meme High School.
  37. Hank Hill (Bobby’s New Hobby version only).
He can also add the reddish-pink “THIS IS GREAT” text in the bottom of the front, a large computer screen that displays the Great: The Show logo behind Bella Caramella, the Fan Con from Great: The Show in the background behind the computer screen, and even the stuff from the MAD intro in the same background! Here’s a list of said stuff:
  • The colorful floor.
  • The sky of spotty clouds, flying logos and different colors (blue, cyan, orange-yellow, and purple).
  • Various claymation buildings (crane, palm, wooden bridge, etc.).
  • Various claymation vehicles (blue car, red car, helicopter, bird-winged airplane, school bus, etc.).
  • Various claymation versions of various additional characters (unnamed angry man, Spider-Man, Shrek, SpongeBob, Tow Mater, Optimus Prime, Steak Guy, monkey ballerina, Yellow Guy, Bloo, Woody, Batman, Buzz Lightyear, Charizard, and Cinnamon Bun).
  • The alien from Mike Wartella’s Spacenook.
Plus, Blonic’s face is edited to have a smile because he gives me a thumb up. Now, here’s the image for it. It can be similar to the previous one but let’s check it out.
NOTE: Again, I'm hard to add the drawings and numbers.
And last but not least is a new upcoming video, which contains the fan-made versions of both scenes from Chip n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers where Sweet Pete transforms into his bootleg form, Frankenpete, by the malfunctioning machine! And yes, this video is inspired by a Reddit comment about the fan-made versions of both forms of the character, but we don’t include the voices (except for Marie’s meow and a version of Wreck-It Ralph’s catchphrase) for this video because it doesn’t have the scenes where Frankenpete started chasing Chip and Dale. Why? Because like I said, this is an edited version of said scene. Here’s the screenshots of the comment that will inspire the video:
https://preview.redd.it/ntw8a3x2sfyc1.png?width=1141&format=png&auto=webp&s=6e630eb4661c855af2c460f73ea999f0d54653a0
Anyway, let’s check out the video’s plot. First, it has two different languages: in the beginning, the language is Latin-American Spanish before it changes to a high-pitched version of the English language from the original film (can be seen on the Villains Wiki page of Sweet Pete) during the scene where Frankenpete was created. Also, it basically uses the “Sweet Pete transforms into Frankenpete” scene from the Latin-American dub of Chip n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers, with a few differences:
  • The transformation sound effects from Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared 6 are added during Sweet Pete’s transformation.
  • The Hanna-Barbera sound effects are added during Sweet Pete’s transformation.
  • The Ed, Edd n’ Eddy sound effects are added during Sweet Pete’s transformation.
  • The sound effects from the Johnny Bravo intro are added during Sweet Pete’s transformation.
  • Various clips from What the Fuck? by 64marjo64 are added during Sweet Pete’s transformation in the fog.
  • Various videoclips from Intolerance III (e.g. the scenes from the Just a Gigolo/I Ain’t Got Nobody music video by Andreas Hykade and Louis Prima featuring the eye-popping Louis Prima cat and the shocked female mouse) are added during Sweet Pete’s transformation in the fog.
  • Frankenfruit’s defeat is added when Sweet Pete falls into the ground during his transformation in the fog.
  • The sword and blood from Willa’s Normal Life are added during Sweet Pete’s transformation in the fog.
  • Homer Simpson’s shape-shifting body from the Don Hertzfeldt Couch Gag is added when Sweet Pete falls into the ground during his transformation in the fog.
  • The mutated blue morphing montage from Andreas Hykade’s Love & Theft is added after Homer Simpson’s shape-shifting body becomes a yellow liquid during Sweet Pete’s transformation.
  • The added parts from the Reddit comment are added during Sweet Pete’s transformation and the Frankenpete scene.
Well, that’s all for today! And u/stewblock2023! If you’re reading this, do the stuff I’ve just mentioned! Anyways, see ya later!

2024.05.04 10:14 StanleyBae_CA Learn How To Avoid Common Mistakes When Investing In Cryptocurrency With Stanley Bae

The crypto market is a playground that allows investors to act and play. Though it may well be an alluring sphere to explore, this adventure, in turn, puts forth plenty of complex challenges. To drive through this obstacle route, it is necessary to have good knowledge and master the potential dangers. Many people can lose money simply because they need to learn the common mistakes people make when making cryptocurrency investments. Stanley Bae states you can position yourself for a more secure and profitable cryptocurrency investment to avoid these.
Dive In With No Guidance Research
Risking cryptocurrency investments with multitudes of gains in mind should be avoided by all means, and people should conduct research before making such moves. Take the task of defining the meaning of blockchain, one of the critical technologies. Consider how each particular cryptocurrency functions and the problems it is focused on. Find the companies and their developers and see how they propose to use cryptocurrency in the long term and how they succeed.
Concisely inspect the market moves, previous prices, and sentiments. Social media hype and star endorsements are not enough if they are not supplemented with something else. Form sound strategies about which cryptocurrencies fit your portfolio, which must have minimum risks.
Suffering From Emotional Investing (Fomo)
The fear of missing out (FOMO), a demanding emotion, will affect an investor’s judgment in almost all circumstances. Cryptocurrency as an intangible asset with price fluctuations increases the risk of further accelerating the price swings. This fear of missing out can lead to hasty, often reckless, actions without a proper comparative analysis of cryptocurrencies. While in a good market, investors might sell when a drop happens, seeing this as a step towards the future fall. However, panic trading in imperfect markets might make them more impulsive, leading to more losses. Formulate a portfolio with a long-term bias that considers the long-term goals, being indifferent to the short-term swings. Try not to engage in emotions and stick to the one you’ve already noticed.
Security Best Practices
With cryptocurrency, you have a digital wallet that holds your cryptocurrency coins. This type of cryptocurrency is from traditional bank accounts, where a person cannot retrieve his stolen money from a third party. Sit on your digital asset and enable only reliable and safe wallet service providers. Tricky wallets provide the highest security level, whereas the corresponding software wallets offer more convenience but come at the expense of heightened hacking attempts.
Always maintain solid passwords and enable two-factor authentication wherever possible. Be wary of phishing scams, and never share your private keys or seed phrases with anyone. Regularly back up your wallet information for disaster recovery purposes.
Failing To Diversify Your Portfolio
Favoring a cryptocurrency in your portfolio can mean yielding all the danger. A cryptocurrency exchange is an essentially volatile market, and even individual projects can see sharp price fluctuations in an instant. Diversification is a vital element of any wisdom investment policy. Spread your investment money over many already proven cryptocurrencies with different core functionalities and risk levels. Consider not only the most famous investments in the market with great potential but also smaller investments with an augmenting potential and higher risk, higher reward.
Underestimating The Tax Implications
In your jurisdiction, be it capital gains tax, capital gains taxes are also an essential consideration. Not including self-employment taxes in your business strategy may be a problem with unforeseen financial burdens when filing taxes. According to Stanley Bae, learning the tax regulations of your region on cryptocurrency will be a good start. Work with a tax advisor professional to consult and analyze your reporting and tax payment obligations. Keeping quality records of all your cryptocurrency transactions will make filing easier when reporting at the end of the tax year.
Putting Short-Term Gains Before Long-Term Prosperity
Cryptocurrency can deliver growth in the long term, but it is not a very stable investment, and neither will the prices rise overnight. Avoid being tempted by frequent trading; otherwise, you may be trading away your cryptocurrency for short-term profits. The exact opposite happens with short-term trading. Most opportunities are missed whenever a well-built strategy is not followed, and additional transaction costs that affect returns are incurred. Instead, concentrate on nurturing and harvesting projects with disciplined research and valuable future creation expectancy.
Conclusion
Stanley Bae suggests that following his advice can help you avoid mistakes and create better future opportunities for successful cryptocurrency trading. Recall that the cryptocurrency market is gradually becoming rigorously dynamic. Attend workshops, seminars, or information sessions on any new strategies associated with changes in the industry and adopt them. Investing in cryptocurrency should be considered long-term play, and a healthy dose of skepticism and commitment to continuous learning should be followed.

2024.05.04 02:45 SaucyRambler Line bury nightmare

Ever since my line was cut over a month ago due to a false locates report by Xfinity I’ve been stuck in landscaping limbo with a project on hold pending bury.
The first time I called I was given a date two weeks ago. Reach that date and a new rep notes that the first rep had provided false information (aka lied). This rep wouldn’t provide a job number or a due date just saying it was permitting and locates.
Went to a local rep after that and finally got a job number along with no mention of locates or permitting but a new date a week out.
Week goes by (no one shows up- locates or otherwise) call that day and get “yep your job is scheduled for today” (again no one shows). I call next day and get another date a week out and get told it’s a permitting delay (the Xfinity hub box is in my backyard so the entire job is at my property) so at this point I’m tempted to just call the city and county and see if any permit requests are on file.
I don’t trust Xfinity as far a I could throw their dumb orange line after all of this….
Has anyone else experienced this?

2024.05.04 00:44 ArchonPrime Battery Degradation and Mileage loss

Hi All, before I reach out to Tesla again, I thought I'd check the community here to make sure I have the proper understanding of battery degradation and associated mileage.
We have a 2016 Model X P90D. Bought is used 2 years ago and it now only has 37k miles on it. Last year, we had SEVERAL issue with the car bricking 6 different times and requiring over 90 days of service and 4 tows. Each time they seemed to find a difference reason from the air conditioner to the drive unit. I made several points over these services stating that I'm concerned the battery may be the issue. We are not getting the mileage from the car that it should be getting.
We've done a few longer trips in the last few weeks and when we start with a full charge when the car showed an estimated 277 miles. On one trip, we got home having traveled 124 miles on the day, but only 24% of battery left. This was mostly freeway miles with little traffic and some street routes. Estimating that playing out the remaining charge and I'm MAYBE getting 160 miles total.
I've noticed this on other trips when we went to Vegas one time as well and needed to stop twice on the way or we would not make it. Tesla said they tested the battery and it holds a charge properly, but I don't feel like it's using the charge properly. A loaner car we got from them during one of the services was able to drive from Orange County to San Diego and back on a full charge and showed on it's reserve that it could still make a trip back to San Diego. I don't believe our car would make one full trip of that same route without charging.
I believe our battery is failing in some way even if they say it's passing the test to hold a charge. With so little mileage on the car, we should be getting more distance. I wanted to see if anyone else here has had issues like this and had their battery replaced or if this is the amount of mileage loss that should be expected. I appreciate the feedback.

2024.05.04 00:23 mclarke77 The Wall

2024.05.02 16:45 OverwhelmedAutism What If The World Didn't End After Inevitable

For context, I've been watching a lot of Star Wars What ifs recently. Things like "What if Order 66 failed?" Things like that. I decided to do my own fan fiction, but with Hatchetfield. This is all just for fun, and isn't canon. Hope you all enjoy.
Paul walks out to meet Emma. Emma is overjoyed to see him alive. As they embrace, Paul starts to sing. As it turns out, Paul didn’t stop the hive, he had been infected. Paul and the members of the hive sing Inevitable. Emma tries to flee but is unsuccessful. When the song ends, Emma screams for help as they drag her away. The hive throws Emma to the ground in the hallway of the hospital. The infected Bill, Ted, Nora, and Mr. Davidson hold her limbs down. Paul stands over Emma, smiling at her, eyes completely blue. He asks Emma why she isn’t happy. He’s happy. Emma yells at him, “You’re not Paul. You’re a fucking alien. You killed Paul. I don’t love you.” She is trying to stall, by herself more time so that anyone might be able to save her. Paul tries to make Emma calm down, but Emma resists. Eventually, the hive realizes what Emma is doing, and Paul proclaims “I am done monologuing.”
BANG! BANG! Two gunshots sound. Emma and the hive look up in shock to see infected Hidgens slowly fall to the ground, two bullet holes in his chest. Colonel Schaffer has a pistol in her hand at the end of the hall. She is joined by two people. One is a young boy in a green Clivesdale Chemists jacket, a shotgun in his hands. The other is a woman in a denim jacket and jeans, holding a revolver. The three open fire on the hive. Paul takes the brunt of the gunfire, his body knocked off its feet in a barrage of bullets. Bill, Ted, Mr. Davidson, and Nora release Emma as they get shot. The nurse dodges the first shots and tries to bite Emma’s leg. She’s shot in the head. Schaffer calls out “You alright, Kelly?” “I’m fine,” said Emma. The boy and woman come over to Emma. The woman is cautious, but the boy looks into Emma’s eyes and nods. “She’s not infected.” They help her to her feet. “General MacNamera has been flying infected citizens from Hatchetfield over to Clivesdale via helicopter,” said Schaffer. “We’re assuming the hive is trying to lower the bridge between us and them. We have to stop it.”
All around Clivesdale, the citizens are trying to get to safety or fight the hive. Bill’s ex runs out of her house, shutting the door on an infected, only to find herself cornered by more infected outside. A helicopter lands in a lot behind a Burger King. A man runs out to intercept it. He fires a handgun at the chopper, killing the pilot on the first shot. He then takes down the members of the hive on board. A girl in the high school is pinned by an infected P.E.I.P. agent. Another girl and boy come and kill the agent, but the girl is already dead. They shoot her head and lock her in a closet.
Back at the hospital, Emma and the others are making their way to the lobby. The boy introduces himself as Mitch, a senior at Clivesdale High. The woman's name is Skarloey. She reveals that she drives the ambulance, but was off for the day. Emma reveals her real name and that she’s the only survivor from Hatchetfield. Schaffer tells them to shut up. In the lobby is General MacNamera and four P.E.I.P. agents, looking for anyone. Mitch asks Emma, “Do you know how to shoot?” Emma hesitates, “Sure?” Mitch takes a handgun from his jacket and hands it to her. They wait a moment. “Now,” said Schaffer. The four of them pop out and open fire on the infected. MacNamera goes down instantly. The other agents aren’t able to react fast enough. Only one manages to fire off one shot before dying. The four of them run out of the lobby and into Skarloey’s car. “We got to get to the bridge,” said Schaffer. “We cannot let them lower it.”
Five helicopters carrying more members of the hive fly overhead. Citizens look up to see the arrival of more infected. BOOM! One of the choppers is blown out of the air. The remnants of P.E.I.P., along with other military reinforcements, were able to set up some artillery to take the choppers out. Another helicopter is blown up. Across the town, the few infected that made it across are falling. Because the hive has gotten more violent, they don’t resort to luring people in that much. Also, Hatchetfield knows little about the town, other than that they hate it. The citizens of Clivesdale fight back, managing to kill every member of the hive that flew in. Emma notices the explosions in the air as they drive. “Looks like you got some help.” Schaffer chuckles, “Those of us that are left were able to set up a solid defense. They reacted quickly.” They watch as the last few helicopters are blown up. “Let’s hope they did the same with the bridge.”
Sadly, they didn’t. The few soldiers at the bridge got there too late, and all of them were caught off guard. The citizens were able to show up and kill the hive members there, but the bridge had already begun to lower. Schaffer, Emma, Mitch, and Skarloey pull up in the car not far from the bridge, ready to help defend. An agent runs over, “We can’t stop it, Colonel. They sabotaged the controls. That bridge is coming down.” Schaffer sighs, “Alright, we’ll just have to kill them all.” Mitch grabs a rifle from a fallen soldier and tosses the shotgun to Skarloey. Emma turns around to see several citizens arriving to help defend. They have guns, bats, knives, and even grenades. She’s almost shocked.
CRASH! The bridge has finally lowered. The crowd goes quiet, waiting to see anything. On the other side of the bridge, there is a faint chanting. It grows louder and louder. The infected have begun to cross the bridge. As they get closer, people begin to hear what they are singing. “Fuck you, Clivesdale!” The townsfolk are confused. Mitch raises an eyebrow, “What the?” “The hatred runs deep,” says Emma. “Don’t ask.” They are getting closer. Some of them are starting to move faster. There are far too many for all of them to deal with. They would be overwhelmed. But they know that they have no choice, if they want to survive, they have to hold them back.
Emma takes a deep breath, “I am not going to die here. Not in Clivesdale.” She raises her gun into the air and yells, “FUCK YOU, HATCHETFIELD.” The crowd yells and charges down the street, towards the bridge. The infected are moving faster now, sensing what is coming. They sing in unison, about taking over, how unstoppable they are, and that they’ll “fucking kick their asses.” Mitch, Skarloey, Schaffer, and many of the people reach the edge of the bridge. They aim and begin to fire. The infected at the front start to drop like flies. As more people arrive, the faster the infected fall. But, there are still too many to hold off. Grenades are thrown and some infected are blown up. Mitch reloads his rifle and continues to fire. The infected keep advancing. They’ve gotten too close now. They will overpower them soon. The crowd starts to back up. They start running out of ammo. The infected are almost at the edge of the bridge.
WOOSH! Two jet planes fly overhead. They pass over the bridge and the town of Hatchetfield. The people and the hive turn and watch as the bombs drop on the Starlight Theatre. BOOM! The massive explosion goes from orange and black to blue. The essence of the meteorite and the blue shit has been destroyed. The crowd watches in awe. The explosion starts to rise, the sky seemingly pulling the blue shit away from the earth. Emma notices a blue light coming out of the faces of the hive. Almost as if the blue is fading from them. The blue light is sucked into the sky and is gone.
The crowd stands there, stunned. At the same time, several of the citizens of Hatchetfield fall to the ground. Some lie dead, others struggle for breath. Those still standing look around in shock, wondering how they got there. Emma notices one of the few people standing at the front. It’s a woman in a nurse's outfit, with long, red hair. She turns to the crowd and drops with her hands over her. “Please,” cried Becky Barnes. “Don’t shoot me!” The crowd is uncertain, but Mitch notices her sclera (white of the eye) is white, not blue. “She’s not infected anymore,” he said. But even Mitch was uncertain. Then, they noticed a corpse at the front. Their blood was previously blue but had now turned red. The infection was gone.
P.E.I.P., the medical personnel in Clivesdale, and any Hatchetfield citizen that had recovered worked to set up sites to nurse the citizens back to health. There are stretchers, beds, and cots everywhere. The agents and medics are doing whatever they can to try to save the citizens. Emma walks with Mitch and Skarloey. “I can’t believe this.” Skarloey turns to her, “Tell me about it.” Emma pauses, “No, not about the hive, about you all.” Mitch and Skarloey stare at her. “We hated you guys,” Emma explained. “We did not like you. I never really knew why. Now I’m here, that hatred makes no fucking sense.” Mitch and Skarloey stare and then laugh. “We almost died, people are still dying now, and you decide that you want to tell us the Hatchetfield hates Clivesdale?” Emma shrugs. “Guess so, don’t have much else to do.”
Then, she notices someone. On a stretcher not far from her is a man with dirty blonde hair, a beard, and a red and black flannel. “Tom!” Tom Houston turns away from Becky Barnes to see Emma. She runs over to him. “Hey, Emma,” said Tom. “Good to see you.” He grunts as he tries to sit up. Becky puts a hand on his shoulder. “I’m alright, Beck. What happened, Emma?” “You became a musical alien,” said Emma. Tom’s winces, “So I’ve been told.” Emma tries to distract. “Is Tim ok?” As if on cue, Tom’s son walks up to Emma and grabs her leg. She turns and smiles at him, hugging the boy. Tim then goes over and hugs his dad. “I’m so glad you’re alive, Dad.” Tom pats his son on the back, “Me too, bud. Me too.” He looks up at Emma. She smiles and embraces both of them. Becky Barnes smiles at them. “I’ll leave you three for now.”
The next few days were interesting. Zoey Chambers, who somehow managed to survive the helicopter crash, was able to recover early. Emma revealed to her that their boss, Zoey’s boyfriend, and his wife were dead. Tom and Tim recovered early. After a day or two, Tom and Becky decided to get back together. Tim liked Becky and was happy to have her there. After finding Tom, Ethan Green and Hannah Foster learned that Lex Foster died during the charge. This seemed to be too much for Ethan, as while he seemed to recover early on, he wasn’t able to keep it together and died a few days later. Hannah had to confide in Webby to keep her spirit up. Tom and Becky, feeling awful for Hannah, Ethan, and Lex, decide to take care of Hannah. Tim welcomed the idea of having an older sister. Alice Woodward woke up asking where her father was. Emma told her what Paul had said, that Alice killed Bill herself. She then mentioned that Bill was present at the hospital, where he was gunned down. Alice had already found out that her mother had been infected and killed, while Deb died of gunfire. She was overcome with grief and spent the rest of her time looking for anyone she knew. Miss Holloway recovered right away, and with her help, she was able to nurse many people back to health, including Duke. The two spent most of their time together. Mark and Karen Chasity found that their daughter, Grace, had failed to recover. Mayor Solomon Lauter woke up with an injured leg. The body of his daughter, Steph, was never found. Melissa was one of the last people to recover. She became heartbroken when she found out that Paul was dead. The agents had to make sure she wouldn’t harm herself.
During those few days. Emma was spending her time with Tom. One day, she mentioned the plot of land in Colorado that had been granted to her by P.E.I.P. She told Tom that she wanted to start a pot farm, but now wanted to focus on getting everyone on track. She asked Tom if they would come with her to Colorado, to start over. He agrees with her, although still sketched out by the idea of a pot farm. Emma promises him that she is done with weed, for now. Emma Perkins, Tom Houston, Tim Houston, Becky Barnes, and Hannah Foster move to Colorado. Emma, with assistance from P.E.I.P., manages to let her leg heal and get back on her feet. She decides to go back to school to pursue a different career. Becky remains in the medical industry and Tom gets back into teaching. Tim and Hannah grow super close, with Webby at their side. As they get older, Hannah starts to distance herself from Webby, but Tim manages to convince her to not let Webby go. Emma graduates from college and gets a job working at a bank. Tom and Becky get married around the time Emma graduates. Hannah is in her sophomore year of high school while Tim entered the 7th grade. The five of them are sad for what they lost back in Hatchetfield, but at least they didn’t end up dying there nor in Clivesdale. At least for now, they are safe and happy.

2024.04.30 16:14 thatboyshiv Fascinating Map Of Single Family Rental Homes In LA County Owned By Wall Street Firm (Invitation Homes / Blackstone Group)

Since housing is a popular topic on this sub, I came across this and thought it might be interesting: https://www.google.com/maps/d0/viewer?ll=36.33497036514199%2C-120.26493269183092&z=6&mid=1GTASm8qlcyu9nj8XTew2VyrfcExNCOQ. You can Zoom in on the map to see a detailed view of where the houses are owned locally. I have provided more analysis below.
For some context Ryan Lundquist is an appraiser and housing analyst, based in Sacramento. Ryan used tax records to figure out how many single family properties in Calfornia are owned by Invitation Homes (a single family rental giant which was once owned by the Blackstone Group). Blackstone exited it's investment in Invitation Homes before the pandemic (I think)? Invitation Homes owns more single family homes than any other landord in the United States.
Most of these properties were purchased a few years after the 2008 financial crisis. Homes were trading at deep discounts, and in some cases the debt was purchased from banks, and the homes were foreclosed upon after. Other properties were purchased at foreclosure auctions.
According to Ryan's data, Invitation Homes owns 3017 rental homes in Los Angeles County, which is the most of any county in the state. Next is Riverside County, where they own 2,353 homes. Invitiation Homes not only owns more homes in many counties outside of California, but they own a much larger share of the housing stock.
If you Zoom in on the Los Angeles County portion of the map, you'll see that Invitation Homes has a notable presence in the city of Los Angeles - San Fernando Valley, especially Reseda, Van Nuys, Canoga Park, and Mission Hills, Granada Hills, Panorma City, and Sylmar.
If we look at several zip codes in south Los Angeles (both city and LA County unincorporated), we see they were active west of the 110 freeway mostly (but also east, going into Florence area), as well as in Compton. They also have a strong presence in Carson, Long Beach (mostly northern and eastern Long Beach), and in Whittier (especially), Baldwin Park, Covina and other cities in eastern LA County.
It is worth keeping in mind that there are nearly 525,000 single family homes in Los Angeles County, so Invitation Homes owns well under 1% of these properties. However, it is also worth considering that large Los Angeles (city and county) apartment landlords like PAMA (especially) and Swami International, did purchase single family homes, to serve as rentals, after the last crash.
However, their holdings of single family homes in LA County are relatively small compared to Invitation Homes - though PAMA bought a lot of single family houses in San Bernardino and Riverside. Much more common are smaller investors, who own 1 to 3 single family properties.

2024.04.30 04:42 tokyo_engineer_dad Interviewing for a job in the area, is it just me or is OC much more "family friendly" than SD? Is there a reason for this?

I live in a pretty "family friendly" part of San Diego and yet there's a few things about SD that feel lacking compared to OC when I visit.
  1. Shopping malls feel much more family oriented... I went to Spectrum and was amazed at how fun it was for our daughter. Our daughter spent nearly 30 minutes at the Splash Pad, just having fun running around and playing with the water. Compared to the malls in San Diego, the play areas feel better thought out, have actually useful designs and layouts. The "mall playgrounds" in San Diego either have really small, outdated play areas or the play area is more like a sculpture art piece for some artist to showcase their abstract design philosophy.
  2. There's way more indoor playgrounds and the indoor playgrounds are much nicer. In San Diego the indoor playgrounds are extremely low budget and very half-hearted. They just have bounce castles, ball pits and a bunch of random toys scattered about. The only really good one we have closes at 2:30 on Saturday and Sunday... In Orange County, you have Kids Empire, We Play Loud, Candeeland, there's just so many....
  3. The parks in general are just much nicer. We have good parks, don't get me wrong... But in Irvine the parks are next level good. When I was a kid, I dreamed of visiting San Diego because the parks felt like what you imagined "big city" parks would look like, compared to my hometown. But Irvine is like when your nostalgia glasses aren't actually lying to you. We went to Tustin so I could pick up stuff at MC and we decided to stop at whatever park was close by so my daughter could just burn some energy and we ended up at Bill Barber, it's fantastic! And we also saw Adventure Playground and it's like holy crap... I want to be a kid again.
  4. Beyond all the obvious, it seems like people in OC are also friendlier to families with young kids. When we go to restaurants, shops, just walking around, people are friendly to us, hold doors open for us, are extremely understanding of needing special consideration at restaurants, offering us kid portions and commenting about our kid being cute... San Diego feels like a live interpretation of the /childfree sub Reddit. If you even make a thread on a San Diego sub about kid friendly activities, good luck... I saw someone recommend a restaurant with outdoor seating because it literally has a small area with grass that kids can just run around on. They literally used the existence of grass as a "kid friendly" aspect to a restaurant. A few people will always comment about not taking your kids places where people are hoping to enjoy themselves without crying kids.
These cities are so close to each other and yet the attitude toward young families seems like a polar opposite of each other. Why? On the surface they're similar areas in a lot of ways: lots of international culture, good weather, proximity to beaches and good universities, similar diversity... Does anyone have an idea why it's like this?

Murder runs rapid under the care of Corrupt Kim Hubbard. Orange County Probate Mafia Exposed.
Knowledge is power, and spreading it, even more powerful. In a short period of time, the corrupt players involved, their names, positions, playbooks, connections, and their victim's stories are getting out, spreading as far as, the east coast. Families already trapped are finding us, understanding the truth, and that, they weren't "imagining it" and are no longer feeling alone. They are joining us with the same mission; understand what to do, while getting the word out to alert all Orange County family's with elder parents so we can permanently put a stop to this probate court approved, elder abuse and corruption, put these individuals out of business, and hold them accountable for the destruction they caused.
