Found the Perfect Insurance: My Real Experience with Genki Insurance
Get insurance online in 5 minutes
Traveling across different countries, I imagined a life full of adventures. However, alongside breathtaking landscapes and cultural discoveries, I faced an unexpected challenge – choosing reliable medical insurance.
The first two months in a new country turned into a real quest. Every insurance agent offered me complex service packages accompanied by endless paperwork. My visits to insurance offices felt like a series of torturous exams with piles of documents.
Genki Insurance offered me a wide range of medical services with no payout limits. This means I can receive all the necessary treatment in any amount and at any time without additional costs. The company also guaranteed compensation payments within a month. In one instance, when I needed emergency medical intervention, Genki promptly paid over 10,000 baht (about $270), covering all expenses without delays.
I particularly liked the feature of booking appointments at Bangkok Hospital through the AirDoctor mobile app integrated with Genki. Thanks to this, I could plan my doctor visit days in advance, and the insurance covered all treatment and procedure costs. This eliminated the need to spend my own money when visiting the hospital.
Using Genki, I found reliable insurance, and thus a source of confidence in my health. The insurance cost of $50 per month (even cheaper with a deductible) was a small price to pay for peace of mind and safety in a new country (restrictions for the USA and Canada, which can be lifted for a small additional fee).

2024.05.29 11:42 Chas-- Nikken's End 1A: The Survivor GIta [Part II: The Actors]

"What distinguished the Indian system from that of the ancient Western world is the absence of slavery. The caste system made formal slavery unnecessary in ancient India." - from The Two Classes of the Four-Fold Caste System, by Sudheer Birodkar.
In Nikken's Threefold World, which is "the world of unenlightened beings who transmigrate within the Six Paths" [Hell, Hunger, Animality, Anger, Humanity and Heaven] ... the 1st chapter describes the structure of Nikken's World of Heaven.

Table of Contents

Part I: The Roles
  1. The Hindu Caste System and Brahminism
  2. The Nichiren Shoshu priesthood and Nikken Abe
Part II: The Actors
  1. The First Rank of Nichiren Shoshu (Brahmin Caste - Priests and Teachers)
  2. The Second Rank of Nichiren Shoshu (Kshatriya Caste - Warriors and Proxy Rulers)
  3. The Third Rank of Nichiren Shoshu (Vaishya Caste - Farmers, Merchants, Artisans, etc.)
  4. The Fourth Rank of Nichiren Shoshu (Shudra Caste - Laborers)
  5. The Fifth Rank of Nichiren Shoshu (Untouchable Caste or Eta - Polluted Laborers)
  6. Definition of Heaven (Ten)
  7. Getting Some Help
  8. The Survivor Gita
Next in Part II, we will apply the grid of the Hindu caste system to the Nichiren Shoshu priesthood. We will talk about some of the priesthood's socially unacceptable behavior, but really ... I only mention these instances to show pattern and connections between priest families.

1. The First Rank of Nichiren Shoshu (Brahmin Caste - Priests and Teachers)

These were the top members of the priesthood for whom everyone else exists to serve during the reign of Nikken.
They are the six families that Nikken Abe and his family were intimately connected with and constitute the Major Players of the Survivor Gita.
1. Nikken and the Abe Clan
Nikken was originally named Nobuo Hikosaka. His mother was Suma Hikosaka. Suma Hikosaka, who was unmarried at the time of Nobuo's birth, would 15 years later marry the man named Houn Abe, who was ultimately to become 60th Nichiren Shoshu high priest Nikkai Abe
Nikkai 60th did not recognize Nobuo Hikosaka as his son. This is because he knew that Suma had actually had relations with Hogen Takano, later to become chief priest Nichijin Takano, sire to the Takano Clan. Ultimately Nikkai did recognize Nobuo, and later married Suma, who became the tonsured (shavepate) nun Myoshu Ama.
[One can imagine a Maury Povich moment: "High Priest Nikkai 60th, according to the DNA testing ... you are NOT the father of Suma's little Nikken !!!"]
Nobuo later changed his name to Nobuo Abe legally, in spite of clearly appearing not to be Nikkai Abe's son, but instead Nichijin Takano's.
To this end, the Takano Clan was favored by Nikken, and the original Abe Clan never received the highest favor of Nikken. Trees grow from the roots, not from tangled branches with other trees.
During the reign of Nikken, Abe (Takano) priests included: Nikken Abe, Shinsho Abe (General Affairs Department Vice Chief) and Shokyo Abe, Shinsho's son.
2. The Takano Clan
Nikken and Masako's children Shinsho and Yuriko have a great grandfather named Takatomo Ishikawa, through his mistress Bun Hikosaka, whose illegitimate daughter Suma Hikosaka ALSO had an illegitimate son named Nobuo Hikosaka with the 60th high priest of Nichiren Shoshu Nikkai (Houn) Abe, and that son was ultimately renamed Nobuo Abe and then Nikken Abe.
Surprisingly, Nikken and Masako's children Shinsho and Yuriko ALSO have a great great grandfather named Takatomo Ishikawa (same guy), through his lawful wife Taki, whose daughter Matsu Ito had a daughter named Ai Nosaka, who was the mother of Masako. So, Masako is Nikken's half-second cousin (kissin' cousins), as well as his wife.
Most of the closely-tethered connections between the top 6 clans of Nichiren Shoshu are by marriage. This was not necessary in the case of Nikken's family and the Takanos, who are connected secretly through Nichijin Takano's seminal contributions to Nikken's mother Myoshu Ama.
During the reign of Nikken, Takano priests included: Nichikai Takano (the chief priest of the Hongyo-ji temple in Sumida Ward, Tokyo), Taishin Takano (the chief priest of Myoho-ji temple in Los Angeles, California), Kensho Takano and Sendo Takano.
3. The Ishii Clan
Shinryo Ishii and Eijyun Ishii became Nichiren Shoshu priests when they were poor and in need of a career which would bring them fortune, with little risk. The Nichiren Shoshu priesthood is certainly that. Climbing the ladder of success under Nikken requires some unusual moves.
Shinryo made his connection to Nikken by first being a good "Uchideshi" (disciple-apprentice), and then by being the receiver of Nikken's "Osage Watashi" (handed- down-girl), his wife Natsuko. That makes him the number one "Uchideshi" for life.
Natsuko was first Nikken's maid and then his girl. The priesthood manner of handling this problem later involves handing the girl off to a junior priest to marry.
This makes for a very close connection between Nikken and the Ishii brothers, who can do no wrong at Taisekiji. There are stories of Shinryo receiving boxes of Gohonzon from Shido Ogawa, that actually contained porno collections, by those who inadvertently opened them, and of Shinryo spending 20% of Taisekiji's budget on land deals ($55 million).
In one observation: At the National Teacher's guidance meeting held on 26 May 1994, Nikken attempted to protect Shinryo from the criticism of [a priest] Nikken said, "If someone asked you whether you have visited a red-light town while you were young, just answer "Yes, I did." If someone asked whether you have bought a land, just answer "Yes, I did." Don't worry about such trivial matters!"
The brazen nature of these people is no accident. They feel they have the right, since they are superior, by fortune of their position in the structure of Nichiren Shoshu.
And of course, this is true. They have a perfect right to abuse their position of trust, in an inherently corrupt and patently false priesthood.
Nikken-era Ishii priests include: Shinryo Ishii (Internal Affairs Division, Director), son Ryokai Ishii, Eijyun Ishii (chief priest of Hosho-ji temple, Japan), sons Shin'oh and Sho'on Ishii, and Kendo Hayakawa, Shinryo's brother-in-law.
4. The Hayase Clan
Back when Nikken was the Study Department Chief, his daughter Yuriko made a big career move by marrying up a level into the Hayase family. She married Gijun Hayase whose father Nichiji (Doou) Hayase was the chief priest at Hodo-in Temple.
Nichiji Hayase was a powerful priest who endeavored to increase his influence by many means. First, his children were married off to create many connections to powerful families, to guarantee that one of those connections would be to the next high priest.
Secondly, during Nittatsu's time Nichiji Hayase created his own faction within the Nichiren Shoshu priesthood called the "Hoki-Kai". Because Nittatsu did not like this, he countered that move by creating the "Myokan- Kai". These young priests later formed the core of the Shoshin-Kai and rebelled against the Soka Gakkai and high priest Nikken at the instigation of Yamazaki.
Forming an elite organization, inside of an ostensibly egalitarian organization like the Sangha is supposed to be, is never a good idea. Of course, that particular logical formulation is not obvious to the elitist priest-mind. And in a profoundly corrupt priesthood, it doesn't really matter. Worse is better, since it is more obviously wrong and less misleading.
Nikken Abe's son-in-law Gijun Hayase is a graduate of Rissho University, which is run by Nichiren Shu Minobu Sect, just the same as Nikken and all the priests of the top families.
Yuriko, Nikken's daughter lives close to her mother and father, so as to eat with them regularly, to discuss Nichiren Shoshu politics. Because of this, most priests and their families will curry favor with her, constantly showering her with gifts and flattery, which she accepts.
Nikken-era Hayase priests include: Nichinyo (Gikan) Hayase (General Affairs chief priest, chief priest of Daigan-ji temple in Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo), Gijun Hayase, Giyu Hayase and Dogi Hayase. [Gikan Hayase went on to become Nikken's enforcer as a thug beating up priests who got out of line.]
Gikan Hayase, through a series of events, later became Nikken's successor as High Priest of Nichiren Shoshu.
5. The Kimura and 6. Imano Clans
Because Yuriko and Gijun Hayase's daughters are from two of the most prominent Nichiren Shoshu priesthood families, their marriages were well thought out. Both of their daughters married priests, whose fathers were priests of prominent families: the Kimura and Imano Clans.
Nikken-era Kimura priests include: Jido Kimura, Shogu Kimura (was Shumu-in secretary, chief priest of San Francisco Myoshin-ji temple at Pinole), Shinryu Kimura (married to Yuriko's oldest daughter), Shoka Kimura and Yuo Kimura.
Nikken-era Imano priests include: Jifu Imano and Shin'en Imano (married to Yuriko's second daughter).
So, the six contesting clans for the succession at any time can honestly declare "I'M A SURVIVOR ! ! !", since they are the six powerful families at the heart of Nichiren Shoshu, that constitute the Brahmin Caste of Nichiren Shoshu. By all appearances, they would seem to have had a lock on the succession of the next high priest after Nikken, and those that would follow.
This is the question which is perpetually posed in the ultimate Survivor Gita: Which of the shifting coalitions of clans in Nichiren Shoshu will control the succession and the absolute power of the priesthood and Hokkeko Gokuyo (loot) that is the prize?

2. The Second Rank of Nichiren Shoshu (Kshatriya Caste - Warriors and Proxy-Rulers)

Loosely-tethered (to the Abe Clan) and untethered prominent priesthood families occupy this position in the Nichiren Shoshu hierarchy. These men have the power to change the outcome of the Survivor Gita through alliances. They are minor players, having to decide whether to be passive or active. [Becoming active as a minor player is risky business, but only slightly more than being passive.]
Minor Players: (Include, for the Nikken-era, the families of ...) Subsidiaries
Nobuko, who is Shinsho Abe's wife, is not from a prominent Nichiren Shoshu priesthood family, and so, the marriages of their children were not into First Rank priesthood families: the Suzuki and the Shin families are Second Rank,
Nichijyun (Shinkyo) Fujimoto, General Director of Nichiren Shoshu, [Shinkyo Fujimoto, Dojun Fujimoto, Ido Mitani, Shinkyo's son-in-law],
Nichiyu Yoshida, executive secretary to Nikken, [Dojo Yoshida of Hokkeji temple in Ghana],
Nitto (Juken) Ohmura, Study Department chief,
Nissho (Shin'ei) Yagi,Taisekiji temple Chief Administrator, President of Fuji Gakurin University (a non-accredited version of Rissho University at Taisekiji substituted in a hurried manner by Nikken after some public criticism),
[Hogaku Yagi, Dogen Munekata, Nissho's son-in-law],
Nisshi (Kotoku) Obayashi, Overseas Bureau chief priest, Chief priest of Myoko-ji temple,
Shinko Takahashi, Nikken's 2nd Disciple, [Shokun Takahashi, Jiho Takahashi, Shido Takahashi],
1998 was a bad year for the Takahashi boys, Jiho and Shido lost their jobs as chief priests for Myoshin-ji in San Francisco and Honsei-ji in Hawaii,
Shinpo Sugawara, Nikken's 3rd Disciple, [Shinpo Sugawara, Shinnen Sugawara]
Shinfuku Suzuki, [Jisho Suzuki, Joshin Suzuki, chief priest of Myoin-ji temple in Koto Ward, Tokyo],
Dofu Shin, [Dofi Shin],
These nine powerful families in the Second Rank pose perhaps the greatest danger to those in the First Rank as the Survivor Gita unfolds.
This is because among them are Nisshi Obayashi and Nichijyun (Eido) Fujimoto, who together controlled the Nikken-era Overseas Bureau: the network guiding the worldwide network of Temples outside Japan.
When the Survivor Gita for the succession is finished, the final Survivors will be in league with Fujimoto and Obayashi, because no number of temples in Japan will be sufficient to offset the importance and influence of the overseas network of Temples.
I really, sincerely believed (at the time of Nikken) that "Jyun's the One." He has the inside track, unless something big changes in the Survivor Gita.

3. The Third Rank of Nichiren Shoshu (Vaishya Caste - Farmers, Merchants, Artisans, etc.)

Lesser administrator and chief priests clans occupy this position in the Nichiren Shoshu hierarchy. Let's call them useful men with no real power to change the outcome of the Survivor Gita. They are the equivalent of Go pieces (Go-Ishi), not even minor players.
Go-Ishi: (Include, for the Nikken-era, the families of ...) Accretions
Nichiko (Taiken) Mitsuhisa, [Kendo Mitsuhisa, Shinyu Mitsuhisa],
Nichijo Akiyama, chief priest of Hoten-ji temple, Kitakyushu City, Japan, [Kenei Akiyama],
Shido Ogawa, Taisekiji Administrator, Chief priest at Rikyo-bo Lodging temple,
[Shogo Ogawa, Assistant priest of Rikyo-bo],
Kogaku Akimoto, Public Relations Dept. Chief,
Kyomei Nagakura, Finance Dept. Chief,
Josei Doizaki, Council Chairman,
Daido Nakamoto, chief secretary of Overseas Bureau,
Cho'do Ishibashi, Overseas Bureau chief secretary,
Kakudo Abe of the non-Nikken, original Abe Clan, [you never see him on a trip with any of the the Abe(Takano) clan],
Keido Hosoi, (Nikken hates Nittatsu's family with a passion),
[Dojin Hosoi]
Jicho Sato, chief priest of the Hongyo-ji temple in Osaka, [Doko Sato, chief priest of Honseiji temple at Hawaii, Komei Sato, Shinshun Sato, Shoshun Sato]
Kotoku Hirayama, chief priest at Komyoji temple in Hachioji, Tokyo,
Shoso Nagasawa, priest-in-charge of Chungtai Propagation Centre,
Yuso Tsuchiya, chief priest of Shomyoji temple,
Ryobin Tsukagoshi, assistant priest of Hodoin temple,
Kyodo Kurosawa, chief priest of Honkoin temple, Taipei City, Taiwan,
Shido Goto, priest-in-charge of the Hong Kong Office,
Shinga Takikawa, priest-in-charge of the Singapore Kaimyo Propagation Centre,
Shingyoku Yamazumi, priest-in-charge of the Philippines Office,
Shinsen Hotta, chief priest of Hosenin temple in Taiwan,
Hakudo Mori, chief priest of Myogenzan Shingyoji temple at Montreuil, Paris, France
Doshu Oyabu, chief priest of Keidoji temple in Japan,
Doken Nakano, chief priest of Myoshoji temple in Madrid, Spain,
Shinsen Hotta, chief priest of Hosenin temple in Taiwan,
Jitoku Kawabe (of the very embarrassing Kawabe Memo}, [Shoshin Kawabe, who then lost his job as chief priest of Myosen-ji in Washington D.C.].

4. The Fourth Rank of Nichiren Shoshu (Shudra Caste - Laborers)

These don't count in the Survivor Gita, except as points in a total score in the evaluation of the size of a domain of control, and as such are merely utilities to those above. Think of them as scalar numerical quantities, not vectors with direction and amplitude. Like the number of taken stones on a Go score sheet, which is the lid of the bowl (Go-Ke) where the opposite color stones are stored in.
In the SGI, Sensei said many times to new leaders, to think of themselves as servants to the members. In Nichiren Shoshu that is reversed for the lowest caste of impotent priests and leaders of the laity.
Go-Ke: (Include, for the Nikken-era, the families of ...)
Certainly, if a priest has his degree from Fuji Gakurin, a non-accredited school, that priest cannot rise above this rank. He is trapped in Nichiren Shoshu because his degree is worthless on the outside,
Also included are: Kisoji Yanagisawa and the leaders of the Hokkeko Federation, the Local Division and the Chapters.

5. The Fifth Rank of Nichiren Shoshu (Untouchable Caste or Eta - Polluted Laborers)

These only count as real estate or territory, like the board that Go is played on, the Goban.
Goban: (Include, for the Nikken-era, the families of ...)
Hokkeko members and families
Also included (before the excommunication) were the SGI members and families.

6. Definition of Heaven (Ten)

From the SGI Dictionary:
http://www.nichirenlibrary.org/en/dic/Content/H/15
heaven [天] (Skt, Pali deva-loka; Jpn ten): In Buddhism, a realm of heavenly beings. Buddhism describes twenty-eight heavens or heavenly realms (twenty-six or twenty-seven according to different sources) in the threefold world. In ascending order, there are the six heavens in the world of desire, the eighteen heavens in the world of form, and the four heavens in the world of formlessness. These heavens are ranked in quality according to their elevation. The first and lowest heaven is the Heaven of the Four Heavenly Kings, located halfway up Mount Sumeru. The highest heaven is the Heaven of Neither Thought Nor No Thought. This heaven is regarded as the realm where those who have accumulated good fortune will be reborn, though it still belongs to the six paths of existence, a realm still encumbered by transmigration and delusion. Heaven, or the world of heavenly beings, is also the sixth of the Ten Worlds. Based on the philosophy of the Lotus Sutra, this can be viewed as a potential state or condition of human life. In The Object of Devotion for Observing the Mind, Nichiren (1222–1282) writes, "Joy is [the world] of heaven" (358). This describes the condition of contentment and joy one feels when released from suffering or upon satisfaction of some desire. Such joy disappears with the passage of time or with even a slight change in the circumstances. "Heaven" is therefore included within the six paths—states of life that are relatively passive and subject to changes in one's surroundings.

7. Getting Some Help

If you are a Nichiren Shoshu Priest, or a Hokkeko member from anywhere in the world, and are thinking about switching to the SGI call (310) 260-8900 or contact the Headquarters at SGI Plaza.
Tell them that you are a Nichiren Shoshu Priest or Hokkeko member, and wish to speak to someone about the SGI, and what to do.

8. The Survivor Gita

Nikken, the self-appointed Usurper King of the Rats at Taisekiji, has been replaced by Nichinyo, who is an angry member of the elite, due to too many blows to the head in fights. A little punchy, he rules from weakness, since Nikken publicly had plans for his son to take over.
One thing that is known for certain: There will be a new Rat King. And then there will be another.
Another thing that is known for certain: All the alliances will change, and more than once. Anyone that has watched Survivor knows this.
Rule Number Zero:
The War of the Rodents can only be won by ... King Rat.
More to come ... These questions will be answered !!!

I was only granted two years for my SSDI, and I'm stressed out not knowing what happens when those two years are up. What do I need to do to continue my SSDI?
After seven long years I finally won my disability case, but they only gave me two years because they believe I have disabilities that will get better. This is absolutely absurd due to the fact that my disabilities are not going to improve.
I have ehlers-danlos type 6, scoliosis with a curve that's at 50 degrees, chronic pain, rheumatoid arthritis which causes flare-ups that render me unable to walk, hypotonia, major depressive disorder, and severe anxiety.
*At the time when I was going through the process I hadn't received my rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis yet. So this is a new issue that I don't think they are aware of yet.
My biggest problem when I was trying to even get approved for SSDI is my age. Since I'm 38 they view me as too young to qualify for assistance. It was a miracle that I finally was at least approved for the two years. My lawyer was a real miracle worker helping get this far. But she wasn't helpful on telling me what happens after those two years are up. All she said if keep going to your doctors.
I've been worried sick that I'm going to have to go through that hell all over again. Those seven years were absolutely miserable. I don't think I can mentally go through it a second time. I ended up having a nervous breakdown after my hearing was over. The stress of being overwhelmed by thinking I probably lost destroyed me.
I'm definitely continuing all my doctor appointments, plus I've seen several new doctors concerning my problems. Like at the time of hearing I didn't have a doctor for my scoliosis, but I'm in the process of seeing one now.
So that's why I need extra help knowing what I need to do to continue my benefits after the time frame they gave me is up. There is no way that I'm able to go back to work. Between the chronic pain and flare ups that leave me bed ridden, there's just no way I could do it.
Any help is much appreciated. Also, I'm in the US if that helps any.

2024.05.29 11:41 Dom_1992 50/200MP AI Adjustment - General Camera Woes

I feel like I'm going crazy, I just recently received my 24 ultra and the camera experience has been so polarizing that I'm contemplating returning it today. None of the mainstream websites or reviews level any sort of proper criticism against the camera system yet I was immediately struck by the decrease in (perceived) quality from my S21U.
After downloading Camera Assistant and tweaking some settings I've got the 12MP behaving (though it is not without fault) but the 50 and 200 are plagued by egregious AI editing even with the settings on minimal. I can't for the life of me work out how people are getting nice 200MP photos because my phone simply won't stop bastardising my images.
I've heard the hardware is good, maybe it is, but I can't experience it because the software is so intent on hamstringing itself. I don't want my images altered but there's no way to turn it off?!
What makes me feel even crazier is the factions online of 'it's fine' - 'it's fucked', a seeming war between doomers and unfaltering fans. I'm trying to work out a definitive answer but I know how I felt when I first took my £1300 phone for a spin.
I'm not asking to be convinced but I was really looking forward to this phone, it pains me to return it, I enjoy the samsung ecosystem (and my beloved S pen) but I'm not interested in waiting 6+ months after release to (hopefully) be able to use my hardware properly.
I've done as many tweaks as one can reasonably expect (truthfully I would expect none on a £1300 flagship), am I missing something?
Disclaimer:
I'm not expecting it to be perfect, I'm not expecting a DLSR replacement, I'm not expecting to be able to dribble on my phone and win photography awards, I just want a competent point and shoot analogous to how my S21 felt - my initial reaction when trialing new hardware many generations newer shouldn't be confusion and regret.

2024.05.29 11:37 vanm-df S-Rank Concept Ideas pt.2!!

Hey all! I'm very thankful for the support received in my first concept ideas post and am very excited to share some more that I've thought about! once again, names and backstories are there for context, but the game mechanics and skills are the main focus :) Here goes Part 2!
(Some of the explanations are very wordy so please bear with me)
Part 1: https://www.reddit.com/thespikegame/comments/1d2cosh/srank_concept_ideas_pt1/
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Name: Takehibara Rank: S Position: Setter
Description: Plays on the same team as Nouya Toshio(MB) and Hito Sazaki(WS). Takehibara is an experienced setter and the captain of his volleyball team. What makes him stand out as a setter is his high perceptiveness and adaptability on the court which he uses to quicky identify weaknesses in the opposing team's game. With his game sense and perception he leads his team's attack by running his offense in a way which is flexible and can exploit the weaknesses of the other team. Takehibara also has 20/20 vision (just some more little details).
I figured I would flesh out the team which I made in my previous post, this team could be a great addition since it seems in the future Suncyan hinted that we could be going back to Japan and its volleyball league. Where Valentia Spike has power, and Art High has floor defense, this team (which I'm open for any team name suggestions) would shine in its unpredictability and ability to counter your defenses (blocking and receive, especially blocking) and would be a challenging team to play against and play as.
Height: 178cm Total stats: 585
Attack: 125/160 >> 160/160
Defense 100/140 >> 125/140
Jump: 140/160 >> 160/160
Speed: 120/140 >> 140/140
Active ability: Perception (Mode Switch/No cooldown)
Takehibara is able adjust his setting style while on the court in order to target the opposing team's weaknesses.
Mode 1: Zero-Tempo:
Takehibara runs a faster offense with his hitters. He will set similarly to Ahyeon, minus tempo attacks and fast paced follow up, 3-ball sets (in volleyball terms) to his wing spiker. When setting middle quicks, the spike power is slightly increased (+5). This mode is best used against opposing team's with weak floor defense, speed and when the other team's players are out of position.
Mode 2: Balanced:
Takehibara runs a more conservative offense which prioritizes high balanced sets, he will also be less likely to perform a jump set and mostly set from the ground like NN, making his set harder to read. In this mode his middle and outside sets will have a similar trajectory and the middle blocker Ai will run at a tempo where he jumps at the same time as the setter releases the ball to throw off blockers. in this mode, sets to the wing spiker will give a slight power boost(+5). This mode is best used against teams with better blocking, height and all rounder teams.
The vision for this s-rank character is to be flexible against different teams and maximize the efficiency of his S-rank team (+Toshio and Sazaki) when paired together. I imagine in playstyle, you would use his first mode state to boost the effectiveness of Nouya Toshio's ability (Vanishing Spike) by setting quicks more frequently at the start of a rally/game when the enemy has a high stamina bar. Then you would use his second mode to boost the effectiveness of Sazaki's ability (Chaotic Spin) later in the rally/game when the opposing team's stamina bar is depleted.
Passive ability: Observant
Takehibara keeps a keen eye on the court and when preforming a setter dump, will dump the ball towards open space making it harder for his opponent's to reach.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Name: Hwang-jin Rank: S+ Position: Setter
Description: Korea's U20's men's national setter. When he was a kid, Hwang-jin didn't grow up with many volleyball friends so he spent most of his time alone working on his setting technique and honing the skill which an individual can use to influence the game by themselves, his serves. Due to his passion for volleyball and his hard work, he is a formidable player who has even been invited to train with the Men's national team and is gaining popularity with the younger generation of volleyballers. Hwang-jin believes that what makes a setter great is when they can uplift their teammates and hitters to new heights, and he abides by this in his gameplay.
(What better way to commemorate the release of playable setter on mobile than an S+ rank Setter!? Also, I really enjoyed playing as a setter on the pc version, and aim for this setter to be very fun to play)
Height: 190cm Total stats: 595
Attack: 160/190 >> 190/190 >> (210 during serve)
Defense 110/160 >> 120/160
Jump: 140/165 >> 165/165
Speed: 120/160 >> 140/160
Active/passive ability: Hybrid Serve
(+20 power and +5 jump when serving)
Hwang-jin is a monster on the service line and has developed a unique serve which is difficult to anticipate for receivers. He has perfected his jump serve and jump floater approach so that before he contacts the ball in the air, he can perform both a Top spin, power serve or a jump floater with an unpredictable pathway. His Topspin serves are given a power boost (+20) due to his confidence and mastery whereas his Jump floater travels faster and more disjointed/shifty with the ability to drop suddenly and rise suddenly, or both! (it would be almost impossible to cleanly receive unless u stand exactly where the ball lands).
Combinations:
Jump serve approach + Top spin serve (Nothing new, but more deadly due to power boost)
Float serve approach + Float serve (Nothing new, but more deadly with floater effects)
Jump serve approach + Float serve (This is already doable but for Hwang-jin, It'll be way more effective)
Float serve approach + Jump serve (New mechanic and would be really interesting to ace with his attack and power boost)
He would have a silvery/white movement and ball trail with white flashing stars/light effects (similar to Sanghyeon's trail). His feints/floaters and setter dumps will also have this trail effect.
Passive ability: Fly High
Hwang-jin sets his teammates with absolute trust and this allows for his teammates to play better and 'fly higher'. When Hwang-jin gets a nice pass from his teammate and sets a chance ball, the team's jump stat is briefly boosted (+5 jump) (was going to be +10 but it seemed kinda busted).
His setting style would be similar to a defensive setter, balanced, easy to spike sets and won't set u up into a block.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Name: Daniel Cho Rank: S Position: Wing spiker
Description: A high school student who studies abroad internationally in the US and visits his family back home in Korea during his summer holidays. He is relatively new to the volleyball community in Korea and is much more familiar with the States as he plays in a Div.1 volleyball club. He is actually 1st cousins with Hwang-jin, Korea's U20's men's national setter (he sees him as an older brother) and was introduced to the sport by him. On the court, Daniel is a very well-rounded player but despite being on a Div.1 team, his team isn't considered a top level team. He is the kind of player who, when the team is in a tough spot, can always rely on to win the point and is very vocal on the court, never hesitating to demand the ball. However, due his teammate's over reliance on his ability to score, Daniel finds himself tiring out much quicker, and needing to be more selective on when he uses his full power.
Height: 182cm Total stats: 585
Attack: 130/160 >> 160/160 >> (170/180/190/200)
Defense 130/160 >> 120/160 >> (140/160 with +20 passive boost)
Jump: 130/160 >> 165/165 >> (170>175>180>185)
Speed: 130/160 >> 140/160
Passive ability: "Count on me"
Daniel gains a fixed stat boost to his lowest invested stat and doesn't add to the total stat count, applies when in a match, but will be represented in the player menu with a darker shade color in the stat menu to show the stat boost (+20)
Active ability: Ignition (4 charges / 5sec skill duration / 20 sec skill cooldown per charge exhausted)
Daniel exerts his true power for a brief moment. When consuming 1 charge, he gains +10 attack and +5 jump, these charges can be exhausted consecutively and the stat boost will stack, when exhausting multiple charges, the skill duration lengthens by 1 sec per charge (base 5sec>6>7>8>9).
He gains a fiery aura upon exhausting a charge and for the length of the skill duration.
Daniel does not have the boom jump animation (let me cook), instead, if all 4 ignition charges are simultaneously exhausted in one go, he then is able to boom jump and gains a fiery, spiral ball trail on his spike. The cooldown of his ignition charges will be sped up by 1.5x and slowly decreases over time (~50sec to fully recharge ignition charges compared to 80sec).
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Name: Kang-min & Yeo Chul Rank: S+ Position: Middle Blocker + Libero?
Description: Two best friends who have been playing volleyball since 3rd grade. Kang-min and Yeo Chul have played together in every team they've joined since junior up to (currently) college level and have formed an unbreakable trust and chemistry on the court. A competitive duo who have pushed each other into becoming incredible volleyball players.
(Introducing the 2 in 1 character concept, not sure how this will conflict with the developer's future plan to add more positions into the game but here goes nothing)
Kang-min: (the playable one)
Height: 194cm Total stats: 595
Attack: 165/185 >> 185/185
Defense 110/160 >> 100/160
Jump: 140/170 >> 170/170
Speed: 125/160 >> 140/160
Yeo Chul: (Ai controlled)
170cm tall and mirrors Kang-min's stats except that his and Kang-min's attack and defense stats are swapped.
Active ability: Dynamic Duo (Toggle on/off) (Cannot be toggled when ball is in play/during a rally)
Toggle ON:
Kang-min is unable to participate in serve receive, but he still remains on the court (and controllable by you). Instead, Yeo Chul will take a defensive stance in the middle of the court (+15 defense) and initiative to pass the first ball and receive the opponent's serve, After Yeo-Chul passes on serve receive, he executes an athletic backwards roll and exits the court and gameplay resumes as normal.
However, If Yeo Chul makes a perfect chance ball pass (which will happen often due to high defense), Kang-min becomes inspired by Yeo Chul's impressive dig, making him want to one-up him and hit an even cooler spike. He is granted a power boost (+15) and speed boost (+10) for the duration of the play/rally.
When performing a perfect serve receive, Yeo Chul releases a simple shockwave effect on the ground with the words "Chance ball" appearing more clearly. Kang-min obtains a colored movement trail and a ball trail.
Toggle OFF:
When the ability is toggle off, Kang-min and Yeo Chul are both able to play on the court at the same time (4 player team) but their attack (defense for Yeo Chul) and jump stat is reduced (-10 and -5 respectively). In this mode, Kang-min is able to participate in serve receive and Yeo Chul will play defensively, covering for your spikes/blocks and staying deep in the court to catch receives by your team which ricochet backwards.

If you've managed to make it to the end... I'm impressed because I didn't expect it to be that long either XD. Once again I'm open to any feedback and suggestions for these concept ideas! I'm trying my best to make them balanced and strong, whilst maintaining the fun factor. I will be continuing this with part.3 sometime in the future, but for now I hope you've enjoyed these characters I've thought up!

2024.05.29 11:32 a4fertility Complete process of IVF: What is IVF and how is it done?

The journey to parenthood is unique for everyone. For some, it's a smooth path, while for others, it may involve seeking help. If you're exploring fertility treatments, you've likely come across the term IVF, or in vitro fertilization. Let's delve deeper into what this process entails.
What is IVF?
IVF stands as a beacon of hope for couples and individuals facing difficulties conceiving naturally. In essence, it bypasses the typical route of fertilization within the body and takes it to the lab. Here's the gist:
  1. Eggs Meet Sperm Outside: Mature eggs are carefully extracted from the woman's ovaries and combined with sperm in a controlled laboratory environment.
  2. Embryo Formation: When fertilization succeeds, an embryo is formed—the earliest stage of human development.
  3. A New Home in the Uterus: After a few days of monitoring, one or more healthy embryos are gently transferred to the woman's uterus, with the hope that they'll implant and grow into a baby.
Why consider IVF?
IVF isn't a one-size-fits-all solution, but it addresses a wide array of fertility challenges, including:
The IVF Journey: Step by Step
IVF can seem daunting, but understanding the steps can make it less intimidating.
  1. Supplements for the Ovaries: Medication is used to stimulate the ovaries, encouraging them to produce multiple eggs during a cycle.
  2. Retrieval of Precious Eggs: Using ultrasound guidance, a doctor extracts the mature eggs from the ovaries through a needle. This is typically done under sedation.
  3. Sperm's Contribution: A sperm sample is obtained, either from the partner or a donor.
  4. The Moment of Union: In the lab, eggs and sperm are brought together for fertilization. Sometimes, a technique called ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) is used, where a single sperm is injected directly into an egg.
  5. Nurturing the Embryos: The fertilized eggs (now embryos) are monitored for a few days as they grow and develop.
  6. The Transfer: Hope Takes Root: One or more of the healthiest embryos are carefully transferred to the woman's uterus.
  7. Waiting and Wishing: The next two weeks involve waiting to see if the embryo implants in the uterine lining—a positive sign of pregnancy.
Is IVF your path?
While IVF is a remarkable technology, it's important to consider several factors:
Always Remember:
IVF is a journey, not just a procedure. With advancements in technology and personalized care, more couples and individuals are finding success in their quest for parenthood.

2024.05.29 11:32 Jakspurs New Auto-update with app supersedence (required to available)

Does anyone have a deeper understanding of how the new Auto-update with app supersedence feature determines which users or devices to update?
Previously (rightly or wrongly), we used a "required" group to update critical apps needing patches, which meant verifying the group's membership with each new update. For instance, Java is made 'available,' and once installed by a user, they were added to a "required" group to force future updates.
Now, we'd like to use the "Auto-update" feature for "available" apps to avoid the "required" group's overhead.
The question is: Can a "required" app installed on a device be reverted to an "available" app on the same device? In Intune, the registry has a "required" string in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\IntuneManagementExtension\SideCarPolicies\StatusServiceReports\ for each app. Would changing this to "False" work? Additionally, there's an "Intent" string set to "3" in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\IntuneManagementExtension\Win32Apps for each app. Since required apps are set to "3," could this be changed to "1"?
Or is this process entirely different from checking the registry on the endpoint?
Thank you in advance for any assistance.

2024.05.29 11:29 BreakfastCrafty7389 Could this be a demon haunting me?

I have always been very skeptical of the paranormal, atheist, and all that type of stuff, never believed on it, I might sound crazy typing this but please read.
Since 2022 I have been struggling a lot with depression/anxiety/addiction, the real depression, dropped out of high school, and severe health anxiety. i took all the antidepressants and benzos possible and nothing calmed me down, I was having physical symptoms, chest pain, left arm pain, went to the ER like 4 times and the doctors couldn’t find anything but the feeling was real.
I felt very tempted to end my life, held a gun against my head many times to get rid of this thing that I feel that’s just awful, I can’t hangout with my friends, go to college, even typing this is hard, I just feel awful physically and I thought well, there’s no explanation I will just take my pills until the day before yesterdaay.
I had a super weird dream where a spiritual session was being conducted and all the faces of the people were blurry, a gender neutral voice, leaning towards female was conducting the session. And she said “now we’re gonna have (my moms name) join us, and as she said that I could feel my whole body with a weird sensation like my energy, my soul was being pulled out of me, then my mom “arrived” and the female host conducting the session asked while me and the other memebers were feeling the sensation “do you feel it?” as if we were supposed to feel something as my mom joined.
Then the voice said a few random things and said that a new person would be joining us, that person would be my stepdad and as he joined I felt that pulled out of body sensation and woke up as it was too much for me to handle. I woke up desperate, went to my mom’s room and asked her to sleep with me, in the morning I told her everything and she said it was probably just a nightmare. I told her that I wanted to talk to a priest.
Today, as I was falling asleep and my eyes were closed I felt a presence in my room so i decided to open my eyes, I saw, for 0.00001 seconds a very tall figure of a human like being, I don’t know if it was a human because i could barely se it, I just knew it was very tall, maybe grey? I thought well that’s nothing, but then as I tried to sleep I felt something weird, I felt like evil was around me, pure evil, unexplainable, I just could feel it, and called my mom to sleep with me, this was 3 hours ago.
I’ve already been to the doctors who always diagnose me with anxiety but this thing is new, I have been on tons of medications and it doesn’t work. I know this can sound stupid and absolutely insane but I feel like a demon or an evil entity might be following me. What do I do? I already said that I will be talking to a priest but what else in the meantime? I am scared, and if there is actually something with me it would explain a lot of my problems.

2024.05.29 11:27 itsSlimSadie As a first time dm did I homebred too much?

So, this is my very first campaign I started a little over 6/7 months ago with some friends over discord since I had a craving for dnd and a few of them are first time-players, at first it was simple, they made their new characters, went about quests all the normal stuff, then one player asked if they could invite someone, I agreed and they Joined, dm'd me about a whole lot of homebrew stuff and I got kind of overwhelmed, cracked and agreed (nothing bad about the homebrew stuff, it was just so sudden) then my players started adding homebrew spells and I questioned but ultimately I agreed to let it stay
Fast forward a few sessions, the party has encountered the BBEG a few times and have hit a major crossroad, as alot have said they wanted to try new characters (literally 3/4 of the party, aside from the warlock and rogue swapped) bear in mind this is a party of maybe 6 at the time, and they were a naturally chaotic/neutral good aligned party, but had a radical shift towards Chaotic evil.
I was fine with this, one was a newer cleric to replace the old one (current death cleric with homebrew backstory being a follower of myrkul and essentially lapdogging them) and a death-paladin, the Paladin was basically resurrected to assist the cleric, then a wild magic sorcerer and a companion who was a "god" joined, I immediately put my foot down with this said character since I spent literal WEEKS homebrewing my own pantheon, deities and all, I let the myrkul thing slide since I didn't have a god for that area and I thought it'd be okay to let that in, the new "god" character was a rogue and turned to a literal squirrel, I thought little of it but they are basically a spectator with extra steps.
Alot of the now party is built reliantly off homebrew equipment, spells, subclasses the lot, and as much a fan I am of homebrew stuff since I do a bit of it for encounters have I let it go overboard?
(Context) our last session the group being naturally Chaotic evil had been deemed too powerful for the mortal realm so the gods have selected "champions" to stand in their place, essentially mortals ascended to godhood with divine powers n such, last session they was fighting and I brought a friend in to be a 'Co dm' of sorts, to assist with fights and whatnot so I could use other NPCs, plot ahead and the likes, safe to say the party absolutely anhilated the encounter in like, 3 turns due to their homebrew equipment.
TLDR: party has gone super homebrew with a bunch of OP stuff and as a first time DM have I let it go too far?
