2024.05.21 16:53 PositiveBiscotti1248 Feeling despair

I was raised loosely methodist, baptized 10 years ago with them. My wife is Russian orthodox by birth, and after the first couple years of us dating I became very interested in orthodox christianity. Back then I even would fast during Great Lent which encouraged her to begin participating in it again. Back then my exposure to the faith was limited because where we lived there were no orthodox parishes or resources. However I continued my interest in orthodoxy christianity as I view it to be the true faith.
Fast forward a couple years when we moved to a new area with orthodox churches we could attend. I decide I want to make my commitment more official and find a ROCOR parish to meet a priest. I met with a priest in person, described my intent and explicitly asked him what would be required of me to become orthodox and join their church. He only told me to attend services and continue learning about the church. He then gave me a tour of the parish, explained different parts of it and some of the symbolism, then answered some more questions I had. He was very nice and welcoming to me. Before I left that meeting, he gave me a prayer book, and gave me information about an evening class held in the parish library. The class was not required but encouraged. This was not a catechumen class - in the times I was able to attend it was more about the history of the Orthodox Church. They welcomed me in joining their study and lectures, but never any talk about converting, etc. so I didn’t think anything else of it. At this point based on my reception from this class and the priest before, I don’t see how a reasonable new person would expect there to be any further asks or obstacles than to simply do what I was told to do - pray, study, attend services, etc.
I would attend services with my then-fiancé, like vespers, matins, liturgy, even Pascha. Everything I experienced just felt right and I knew this was the right path for me. However during the first couple years of attending services I couldn’t do so consistently, as I worked full time in law enforcement with a panama schedule, and was a military reservist. But I did my best to attend and be persistent.
Fast forward another year and my wife and I decide to get married in Russia. In an orthodox church. Both of us are not knowledgeable of requirements for this, no less I’m trying to do it in a country where I don’t speak fluently. My wife’s family called a priest in one of their city’s parishes. From what I recall the person they spoke to only asked if I was baptized and if we had a marriage license. So then we get married in the temple and it was a beautiful moment for us.
Fast forward another year or so. I’m under the impression that I am officially orthodox through the marriage. We continue to attend services, I even begin to partake in sacraments out of my ignorance. We apply to become parishioners at the church I originally inquired with back in the US, and we are accepted.
We now attend an affiliated sister parish a little closer to our home, and I developed a strong connection to this smaller parish. My faith has grown tremendously. I had been confessing and through the Lord’s help, I am ridding myself of sins which plagued me for years.
But now after really thinking about my path and comparing to other peoples' experiences, I feel like I slipped into the church under false pretenses, and out of my own ignorance. I feel so foolish and like a fraud to have been claiming orthodoxy. I am so ashamed that I cannot bring myself to tell the priest about this, or even attend services anymore. I am afraid of whether they say my ignorance would invalidate my marriage in the eyes of God, or just the brutal shame of realizing I participated in the sacraments illegitimately.
All of my interest and actions were earnest and in good faith. I came to that first visit seeking what I needed to do in order to convert. I did exactly what the first priest told me to do - to learn more and attend services. But it never occurred to me to follow up and “check in” again because who am I to check behind him? He didn’t say anything to me about coming back to him for a formal conversion. He has since moved on from that parish so I haven’t had his contact for years.
This sudden realization has really crushed me. I have the Lord in my heart and I will not turn away from Him. Becoming more like orthodox has played such an important part in shaping me as a husband and father, to be more giving, more ascetic, etc. I have grown so much from my path with this faith, and I don’t believe the Lord would have put me down this path if it wasn’t sanctioned by Him. I just feel like I have been living a lie despite my earnest efforts, and I am feeling paralyzed in how to handle this. Thank you if you took a moment to read this.

2024.05.21 09:41 ignaciokaboo Story of Adam and Eve: literal, parable, or mythological?

Is the Story of Adam and Eve literally true, parable, or pure myth?

According to The Book of Akash, the story of Adam and Eve is a Midrash (Jewish story for children meant to teach a moral lesson) based upon Pharaoh Ay (as Adam) and Queen Khiyah (as Eve), who lived in the walled Garden of Meru-Aten and were cast out of Meru-Aten by General Horemheb who wanted to become Pharaoh. The Book of Akash says:*Ay was a reincarnation of the the soul of the first Adam (Adapa of Eridu), who later reincarnated as Enoch, Adamu the second king of Assyria, Melchizedek king of Salem, and then as Ay son of Yuya.
*Ay was the father of Nefertiti who married Amenhotep IV who changed his name to Akhenaten. Nefertiti had six daughters and one son: Tutenkhamun (Tut). Akhenative closed down the temples to Amun, putting the priests out of business, and built the City of Aten (Atentaten), and also a royal residence called the walled Garden of Meru-Aten, in what is now Amarna, Egypt. Meru-Aten had fruit trees of all kinds, and a sacred fig tree dedicated to Hathor goddess of fertility. It also had a petting zoo and evaporation pond.
*After Tut died, Ay was made Pharaoh, at the age of 70, but his wife died years before. Soon after being made Pharaoh Ay's only son, Nakhtmin, died. This left Ay without an heir to the throne.
*Ay knew that if he begot another son, that son had to have the blood of Amenhotep III (father of Akhenaten) in order to have the divine right to the throne. So Ay marries Khiyah (Ankhesenpaaten) who was Queen as wife of her brother King Tut. Khiyah was the daughter of Akhenaten, the son of Amenhotep III. Amenhotep III was married to Ay's sister who was the mother of Amenhotep IV (Akhenaten). Akhenaten claimed to be Aten in the flesh and Ay was given the title "Father of the God".
*Horemheb, general of the army, desired to be Pharaoh. So he had Akhennaten poisoned, then Nefertiti, then Tut, and tried to marry Khiyah, but she rejected him and she tried to marry a Hittite prince but Horemheb had the HIttite prince assassinated as soon as he reached Canaan (then controlled by Egypt).
*Ay married Khiyah (Ankhesenpaaten later renamed Akhensenpaamun), so that his "claim" to the throne would be strengthened (her paternal grandfather was Amenhotep III and her maternal grandfather was Ay son of Yuya father of Nefertiti. Yes, Ay married his own granddaughter. Why? So that he could beget a son (Nakhtmin was dead) who had royal bloodline back to Amenhotep III, and thus had a "divine right" to the throne of Egypt.
*Akhensenpaaten/Akhensenpaamun (nicknamed "Khiyah") agreed to marry her grandfather because she was "tempted" by the Cobra Crown: symbolic of the Wisdom of the Gods. Only the King and Queen of Egypt wore the Cobra Crown. This is the meaning that Eve was "tempted" by the serpent. It was not real serpent, but a crown. It "tempted" Khiyah like diamond rings "tempt" women.
*Eve being made from the "rib" of Adam is a play on Hebrew words, since "penis" and "rib" is the same word in Hebrew: TSELA. Eve (Khiyah) was made from the TSELA (penis) of Adam (Ay): meaning she was made out of his seed (i.e. daughter or granddaughter).*The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil does not refer to a literal tree, but to "carnal knowledge" (sex) which can be both for good and for evil.
*The Tree of Life is not a literal tree, but a symbol of the placenta. Every placenta has large veins that resemble a "tree" on it. YWHW "took away the tree of life" and prevented Adam and Eve from partaking of it: the meaning is that YWHW prevented them from conceiving a son (because what they were doing was a sin unto death).
*Egyptians in that time ate figs and wore fig leaves when they wanted to conceive a firstborn son. The firstborn son was heir of the family and responsible for taking care of the parents when they became too old to work. The fig tree was sacred to Hathor, goddess of wisdom. The Garden of Meru-Aten had a sacred fig tree. Eating figs and wearing sewn-together fig leaves (sacred to Hathor) was thought necessary to ensure that a couple would conceive a healthy first-born son.*Via his spies at Meru-Aten, General Horemheb discovered that Ay and Khiyah were trying to conceive a son. Horemheb then took his generals and raided Meru-Aten at night. They tied their swords with rags and poured oil on them and let them in order to see (flaming sword). Egyptian generals wore armor of polished brass and thus were called "Shining Ones" (Hebrew: "Cherubim"). Horemheb cast them out of the Garden of Meru-Aten into the desert where they perished. Their servants found them and buried them in sheep skins.*Horemheb becomes Pharaoh, but has no heir (he was gay).
*Ay was the reincarnation of Enoch. Enoch was made the Angel Metatron and adopted by YWHW as a firstborn Son (Third Book of Enoch). As Metatron he was "Mediator" between YWHW and human kind. But with his major sin as Ay, the Soul of Enoch lost his "station" as Metatron. He lost his inheritance. He became the Prodigal Son.
*Ay and Khiyah had to reincarnate, be born of literal virgins (Mary and St. Ann), live sinless lives, celibate lives, and Ay, being Adam/Enoch reincarnated, had to die on a fig tree in order to atone for the "original sin" of the Soul of Adam in the Garden of Meru-Aten in 1320 B.C. in Amarna, Egypt.*Jesus knew who He was. He called himself "the Son of Man" (a term for Enoch). He knew that he would have to die on a fig tree in order to atone for committing the "original sin" with Khiyah in the Garden of Meru-Aten: where Ay and Khiyah ate figs, and wore fig leaves, and tried to beget a son and heir to the throne
.*The punishment of Khiyah (who became Mary) was to lead a celibate life, and to watch her beloved Son be tortured and die on a cross made from a fig tree. This is why Jesus cursed a fig tree on His way to Jerusalem: because it reminded Him of the Original Sin, and that He needed to die on such a tree. He was not looking forward to it, but knew He had to do it in order to regain His lofty station as the Angel Metatron.
*Atonement was made, and the Soul of Adam/Enoch regained the station of Metatron (Mediator) and First-Born. Ay was the Prodigal Son who lost his inheritance, and Jesus was the Prodigal Son who was welcomed back by the Father.*How do I know this? Guessing ? No. I was to the right of Jesus, on another cross, and said to Him : "Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom" and Jesus replied: "Truly I say unto you, today you will be with me in Paradise." My name was Ebion. I was an Essene, and the Romans crucified me for "stealing from Rome" (i.e. not paying taxes and telling other Jews not to pay taxes to Rome either). In the eyes of Rome I was a "thief". But I was a celibate and spiritual man, an Essene. I knew Jesus was the Messiah, and he called me to follow Him, but I refused because I did not want to lose my position as Treasurer of the Essenes in Jerusalem. I knew Who He was, but I could not leave my high station and the admiration of the other Essenes. How do I know this? I was told that by a psychic woman, and also Jesus appeared to me, emerging from a wall in my room, when I was 18. He was porcelain white, and had a crown of thorns. He moaned, and I saw a large drop of white blood running from a large thorn in His temple running down the right side of His head. As God and Jesus are My Two Witnesses: that is what I saw and what I heard.
*Jesus never wrote a book during His life. But He wrote a book through my hand, called The Book of Akash. It contains the truth about God and the Cosmos: the only two things that exist. Answers to all the mysteries of the Cosmos can be found therein.*The following YouTube video explains somewhat about the history of Ay son of Yuya, Khiyah, Tut, and Horemheb (played by a black man in the video). The video suggests that Ay had Tut killed in order to become Pharaoh. Not true at all. Ay loved his grandson Tut. It was Horemheb who poisoned Akhenaten (because he closed down the Amun priesthood and temples), and Nefertiti, and Tut, and Nakhtmin. Horemheb was a very evil man, and did evil, and gained the throne for himself by murder and strategy.
*The story of Adam and Eve in Genesis is a Midrash (Jewish moral parable story for children). It was based upon the real story of Pharaoh Ay and Queen Khiyah. The "details" of the story were hidden in metaphors (talking snake, Eve being made from the "rib" (tsela) of Adam, Cherubim with flaming sword, etc.). The story is not "myth" but based upon real people and real events in ancient Egypt in 1324 to 1320 B.C.
*Jesus has reincarnated five times. I met His fourth reincarnation, who was a miracle worker from Lebanon who was born in Jerusalem in 1909 and died in New York City in 1984. I first saw His face in 1977 when I was 16 years old. He visited me with lightning with no thunder, to my home, in the year 2005. His fifth incarnation is alive on Earth today, incognito. No...not me (God forbid!) but a man who works miracles. Jesus will incarnate for the 7th time in the 24th century (2300s), and, after Armageddon, will establish His Kingdom, called the United Order, a political, judicial, economic, and religious Order, that will last a thousand years.*We all have up to 6,000 lifetimes in order to reach Nirvana, and if we do not reach Nirvana by that time we shall be thrown into the Lake of Fire (when the Giant Red Sun engulfs the Earth) and simply cease to exist.
*Our current life is our Day of Account for our deeds in our last life, and our next life will be our Day of Account for our actions, good and bad, in this life.
*We are all judged by the Universal Law of Karma, and we are all judged according to our works, good and evil, and receive an exactly just recompense for our actions: good and evil. Whatsoever we shall sow, that also shall we reap.
Watch the YouTube video. It is a good introduction to the true historical story of Ay and Khiyah. But, again, please note: Ay did not harm Tut, but loved him. Ay did not marry Khiyah for sex, but to beget a son and heir who had a divine right to the throne of Egypt. It was a sin unto death, and they died. And they came back and atoned. Jesus is the Prodigal Son. Watch the video. It is not long. Please share this post with others. Thank you.

Thank you.

2024.05.21 04:46 TamiGoGo HALLUGREG theory (There’s evidence to suggest that the mimic used Dittophobia gas on Gregory while he was GGY)

HALLUGREG theory (There’s evidence to suggest that the mimic used Dittophobia gas on Gregory while he was GGY)
HALLUGREG THEORY: The Mimic used the gas from Dittophobia on Gregory while he was being controlled as GGY
Key:
GGY: Gregory under the control of the mimc
‘GGY’: Book from Tales from the pizzaplex
TFTP: Tales From the Pizzaplex
CC: The Crying child (fnaf 4 protag)
SB: Security Breach
The premise behind HalluGreg theory is the idea that The Mimic used the gas featured in the last TFTP book, Dittophobia, on Gregory while he was GGY. Using evidence from the book itself, parts of the game, and ‘GGY’, it is implied Gregory endured the same torture Rory experienced under William Afton. To understand why this is the case, it’s necessary to understand the experiments in Dittophobia themselves.
To summarize, the Dittophobia experiments, or hallucination experiments, were a series of studies designed to gauge how children react under intense amounts of fear. The subjects in this study were unwilling, and all those who participated were kidnapped or manipulated into it. The experiments were conducted by William Afton and it’s implied that he even used the gases administered in the study on his own kids, most notably CC and Michael Afton. We see in Michael’s logbook that he knows what the nightmare animatronics look like, concluding that he must have been under the influence of the gas at some point. For cc, we play as him in fnaf 4, experiencing the nightmares caused by the dittophobia gas.
Connecting this, it has long been theorized that the mimic is copying some parts of William. Most notably with its digital persona, Glitchtrap, and its construction of the Afton family in the sticky note room. This theory speculates that the mimic gained access to yet another part of Afton’s life, the part of his life torturing young children in the Sister Location Basement.
First, I’d like to emphasize the clear connection Gregory has to one of the victims of the experiment, CC. Gregory is a near perfect copy of CC, carrying many of the motifs that make up CC’s character. Both boys are fighting against robotic entities or what they perceive to be robotic entities, both have a bear companion, and both were used to further the main antagonists’ goals (GGY for Mimic and the dittophobia experiments for cc). It’s also been pointed out that they have extremely similar appearances. Gregory and cc both have brown hair with a strand falling down the middle, they also wear similar shirts with Gregory copying the two striped shirt that was unique to cc originally.
By definition, they are parallels, however, I’d like to emphasize that them being parallels does not mean they cannot coexist. With this in mind, there is a suggested connection between them. Not all parallels mean correlation, but it allows for a base to structure this theory which will further be supported by hard evidence. With that in mind, I’d like to point out another character that Gregory parallels too, that being David Murray. For the sake of keeping this concise, Gregory and David are parallels to each other due to their appearances and their relationship with the mimic. I won’t go into detail as the David parallelism is not a massive part of this theory, however, AnotherDavid theory explains the connection between the two quite nicely. There is a thread that goes more in depth about this linked below:
Reddit link: https://www.reddit.com/fnaftheories/s/pR2UqkFFeN
Twitter thread link (recommended because there is more visual evidence): https://x.com/gregorysarmy/status/1741712311344308356?s=46
The connection between David and Gregory is important because there are direct references to David in Dittophobia, which in turn, relates Gregory to Dittophobia as well. In the book, both Rory and David wear the exact same zebra pajamas. In fact, there is a lot of emphasis placed on these specific pajamas because Rory puts them on twice during separate occasions in the book (unfortunately, I cannot attach images in the manner I would like to, so I will use MLA cited quotes from the book. Scroll up to the images above to see the visual evidence)
Quote 1: “Then he put on his favorite pjs-they were black-and-white zebra striped.” (Dittophobia pg 120)
Quote 2: “Edwin looked at David’s rumpled bed and the zebra pajamas that lay crumpled on the floor next to it. As David started to skip past Edwin, who grabbed Edwin’s shoulder. He pointed at the pajamas. “What have I told you?” Edwin asked.” (The mimic pg 142)
The zebra pajamas that Rory wears are also noted to be the only pajamas that fit him in his teenager form, implying that they are big. This could be a reference to the fact that David was tall for his age before he died and he also wore that brand of PJ.
Quote 3: “David, remarkably big for his age, in spite of having two short parents, wasn’t an easy carry. He weighed close to fifty pounds, and he was three- and-a-half-feet tall. Pretty soon, Edwin, only five-foot-five himself, wasn’t going to be able to cart his son around. Perhaps he could build a robot to do the job for him.” (The mimic pg 126)
To add on, Rory also says things that are eerily similar to what David says in “the mimic”. In “the mimic”, David is described to talk about fairies in the walls of Edwin’s factory. Rory describes a similar thing in dittophobia when exploring the ‘house’. They both talk about imaginary “pipe fairies”.
Quote 4: “It’s the pipe fairy, Daddy.” (The mimic pg 121)
Quote 5: “The knocking sound wasn’t a knocking like a person would do. There wasn’t some little trapped fairy or something in the walls. (Although the idea of that made Rory smile.)” (Dittophobia pg 126)
To clarify, I’m not trying to push the claim that David WAS part of the experiment. However, the zebra pajamas are symbolism for David in general. The same can be said for the “pipe fairies”. Due to the fact that Gregory is heavily related to David Murray, and there’s multiple David references in the book, Gregory is implicated in the dittophobia experiments.
Moving on to more direct evidence regarding Gregory himself, there is evidence that these experiments took place within the pizzaplex. This means the mimic would have access to them and would have the ability to reenact them itself. In the endo nursery, there is a picture of a young girl in the same exact bed used in the fnaf 4. Rory ALSO has this same bed in dittophobia which implies this specific design was part of the experiment. This means that whoever was involved in the construction of the pizzaplex somehow had access to the details of the experiments and went as far as to place imagery of an experiment in progress in the endo nursery. Considering that the mimic is the only one who seems to be copying William, it’s safe to say that it was the reason that this imagery was put up. Even if it wasn’t, it obviously saw the image considering the graffiti placed on the walls displaying Glitchtrap. (Image 1) With that in mind, the way that the fear experiments work in general would explain why there are numerous active endos in the same location that this picture is found in. When the gas in dittophobia stops working, Rory realizes that his nightmares were simply moving mannequins on a set course. For the pizzaplex, these mannequins could be replaced with the naked endos.
“Even though it made no sense, Rory was still terrified of the creatures. Knowing they were nothing but motorized mannequins didn’t take away his terror. He guessed that after so many years, the dread was too much a part of him to go away that quickly.” (Dittophobia pg 149)
It’s also a possibility that the staffbots themselves could have also been used. Numerous staffbots in the game have the words “in your dreams” (image 2) inscribed on them which seems to be referencing dittophobia in the way the experiments were simply illusions in the children’s minds, not based on reality. Hence being in their dreams. Ironically, the endo section is also the section that Gregory seems the most scared of. We get some of the most characterizing dialogue out of him here.
It’s also ironic that the reason Gregory has to go through the endo section in the first place is because Moon kidnapped Freddy. Moon, a character who makes it their goal to put Gregory to sleep, might be yet another reference the experiments as well, perhaps even enforcing them considering the endo section is heavily Moon themed.
Besides the bed in endo nursery, there are other references to fnaf 4 as well. For example, littered throughout Ruin and SB there are various nightmarionne plushies. Nighmarionne is a character who originated from fnaf 4 (image 3)
As a side note, it’s also notable that Rory’s name is extremely similar to Gregory’s. While that’s not concrete evidence, it’s an interesting detail to include.
Another important detail to mention is that the mimic was looking for ways to induce compliance in its followers. While it seems like the mimic was originally looking for ways to make Vanessa submissive, it may have also been looking for ways to make Gregory submissive as well. It’s not confirmed when Gregory was kidnapped and made into a follower, and it’s possible that he was kidnapped before the pizzaplex was made. This could mean that the email sent in AR by Luis talking about Vanessa’s search history may have occurred not just because Vanessa was resisting the mimic, but because Gregory was being defiant as well. (Image 4) Using the hallucination gas on Gregory would crush this defiance as seen in Dittophobia. Rory can barely function, let alone escape when the fumes are being expelled into the house. This means that Gregory would be trapped in a constant state of exhaustion and confusion which is exactly what the mimic wants.
“Rory risked slipping an arm from beneath his covers to turn off his bedside lamp. He closed his eyes, letting the steady hiss from the vents lull him to sleep as the drowsiness he’d felt all day finally claimed him.” (Dittophobia of 121)
Even with all this evidence, there’s not enough to conclude that Gregory experienced these experiments without a reliable location for them to be preformed. Even though the endo nursery may seem like a good place for them to occur because of all the cameras and children toys, there’s no actual bed for Gregory to sleep in nor a way for the nursery to be gassed. It’s also pretty obvious the children toys present in the nursery are for the endos developing their intelligence, not actually for real kids.
However, there is another location that matches all the criteria needed for these experiments to be performed, and that would be in the mimics lair. (Image 5) In the book dittophobia, Rory describes the layout of his room as having 2 doors, a vent from above, a closet in the middle, and a bed behind him. (Basically a copy of the fnaf 4 room) In the mimic’s lair, as seen in the burntrap ending pre-Ruin, it is set up similarly. There is a small bed directly under the sinkhole, two doors, a vent from above, and an interactive camera station that would replace the closet. (Image 6) The blue bed with stars present in burntraps lair is heavily theorized to be the bed Gregory used as GGY because it is child sized and the mimic seems to make its followers sleep in the pizzaplex considering the existence Vanny’s room in Fazerblast. (Image 7)
With that being said, the mimic has cameras on the opposite side of the lair which it could use to observe Gregory like Afton did with his victims. We see the mimic utilize these cameras to hack into Freddy during the boss fight. (Image 8) Additionally, there is a vent that leads to Gregory’s ‘room’ could be used to administer gas similarly to how it’s administered in Dittophobia. (Image 9)
Inside the Burntrap room, there is also a gas canister where the Dittophobia gas would be held for use. (Image 10) There’s also the fact that Gregory doesn’t really recognize the mimic in Ruin or SB. It’s possible the gas made the mimic look entirely different in Gregory’s eyes. Additionally, there’s evidence to suggest that Gregory is being gassed DURING the burntrap fight. When burntrap leaves its charging station, purple fumes are present, meaning that Gregory could have been hallucinating the entire time. (Image 11) This could explain why the fight itself is so nonsensical. It’s all being made up in Gregory’s head, Gregory is experiencing a nightmare he has had over and over again during his time as GGY. This would also WHY Gregory draws Burntrap after SB and why Burntrap is so inaccurate to the mimic. He is drawing the fake nightmares only he remembers experiencing. (Image 12) It would also provide some insight as to why Gregory doesn’t remember anything relating to hacking into the animatronics, killing counselors, or the mimic. His mind is foggy because the mimic keeps gassing him. Dittophobia gas has been shown to make people FORGET things.
At the end of Dittophobia, Rory, despite finding out the truth about his situation, turns back on the gas. As a result, he seems to forget everything that happened. He’s reduced back to the state he was in when the gas was first administered when he was seven.
“Rory’s gaze landed on his red backpack. He frowned. Hadn’t he gone to school today? He chewed on the inside of his cheek. He couldn’t remember. Rory sighed and shrugged. It didn’t matter. What mattered was that he needed to get in bed. Rory left the great room and started scampering down the long left-side hall, eager to get to his room. His hand trailed along the curved wood chair rail as he went. Pausing by the bathroom door, Rory canted his head and tried to remember whether he’d brushed his teeth already. He was pretty sure he had. So why had he been in the kitchen?” (Dittophobia pg 156)
Dittophobia doesn’t just make people sleepy or hallucinate, it makes people FORGET. The mimic utilized this to make sure Gregory couldn’t wander away or disobey him. It used the same strategy Afton used to manipulate his victims.
Finally, I’d like to bring up the fact that we seemingly get extra insight into Gregory’s hallucinations in the book ‘GGY’. In ‘GGY’, Gregory writes an interesting story related to his situation. (Image 13) He claims that he was the most favored apprentice of some wizard and that he was involved in fighting a conspiracy on another planet against a tangled entity. This, obviously, didn’t actually happen, but it’s clearly a dramatized version of what is ACTUALLY happening to Gregory. The story he writes is based on reality but it is distorted to make it seem nonsensical. This mimics the nightmares Rory experiences. The mannequins that visit him during the night DO exist, but they are distorted by the gas. It’s possible that the same thing happened to Gregory.
Perhaps the gas truly did make him believe he was fighting some wild, nonsensical tangled villain on another planet. After all, the blob, otherwise known as the tangle, is right above where Gregory sleeps. It’s possible that it too, was involved in torturing Gregory and guarding his prison.
To conclude, it seems that the mimic set up a room in its lair that copies the Dittophobia room so it could experiment on Gregory. It was made to reduce Gregory’s will and make him submit to the mimics control. As a result, the gas made Grgeory forget many of his actions in “GGY” and beyond. It also made it incredibly harder for Gregory to escape due to the sedating properties present in the gas.
TLDR: The mimic made a mini FNAF 4 in its lair to sedate/control Gregory like Afton did to kids while he was alive.
Additional info: I didn’t want to clog up this post but here are a few other pieces of evidence that are notable but not important enough to include in my opinion. Mostly just color and physical similarities.
1.) Rory talks on a walkie talkie like device to his friend Wade when contacting the outside world for the first time in ten years. The first conversation they have mimics the conversation Gregory and Cassie have when they reunite in Ruin. 2.) The elevator to escape to the outside world is broken due to a lack of power. Could be slightly referencing the elevator ending in Ruin 3.) Both the mimic’s experiments and Aftons experiments would take place underground according to this theory. 4.) There’s a lot of pieces of furniture that match Gregory’s color scheme in dittophobia. One of them is even blue with white stripes. 5.) both Rory and Gregory are described to be some of the shortest in their class. 6.) Both Rory and Gregory seem to be fond of bunnies. 7.) In the bad ending, Gregory draws himself sleeping next to a green leaking gas. This could be a reference to the experiments where a gas would be leaking into his room while he slept normally.
Additional quotes:
“All he needed to do was get the radio working. If the batteries were still good (please, please be good, he silently begged), he could at least try to reach Wade. If Wade was real, maybe he’d still have his radio. If he wasn’t, maybe someone else would answer Rory.” (Dittophobia pg 145)
“The radio spit a couple of buzzing sounds, then Rory was able to hear a voice clearly. “Rory! Is that you? Really?” “Wade?” “Yeah, dude,” Wade shouted. “Where are you?” “You’re real?” Rory asked.” (Dittophobia pg 145)
“-was labeled UNDERGROUND TESTING FACILITY. So that’s where he was! He was underground!” (Dittophobia pg 143)
“The fact that this monster was bunny-like made it the worst of the three for Rory because he loved bunnies.” (Dittophobia pg 110)

2024.05.21 03:02 rei_mayo I try to integrate my OCs and other characters in Honkai : Star Rail !

Hello !
So... I'm rei_mayo, and I have a little bit unrealistic project. I create OCs and I imagine characters in lore what would they be in game.
I'm French, so I'm sorry for my bad English ! I prefer precise that there is just original or official content in the post ! This is just from the currents versions of the game and from my head !
Since one year, I work in my free time on this project and there is multiple things :
-First part : the lore of the project, like the background and the location ;
-Second part : the relics, and the elevation materials ;
-Third part : the characters, and the banners ;
-Fourth and last part : the plot of the history (in the big lines).
I prefer to precise why I do this. When I play video games, I love to create characters when it's possible, and in MiHoYo games, it's not possible... But, create characters that only me like, it's very selfish, so I would like to present them to have notices if they are fantastic !

First part :

So, the history would be in a location called the "Shìjiè-Chuán of Xianzhou" (nb : mean Ship-World (世界船) in Chinese). The Shìjiè-Chuán is the capital and the most important part of the Alliance. A little time after Lan became an Aeon, Yaoshi asks to an Emanator to kill the Emperor of Xianzhou and to make a plague mark in the original planet of Xianzhou.
Lan discovers that and he purifies the planet, kill Abominations, destroys the plague mark. With the remains of the planet and the Xianzhouan (?) planet, he creates a huge boat, the Shìjiè-Chuán.
For comparative, the Shìjiè-Chuán is so huge that all the other boats can fit in with no problem. It's contains important locations like :
-The Judgment Palace : The place where the Ten Lords and the Generals Arbiters judges the most dangerous criminals. Despite the fact the criminals are jail in the Xuling, they really are judge in the Shìjiè-Chuán.
-The Starry Streets : Streets where neon, big screens and buildings are. The popular streets of the Shìjiè-Chuán, mix of tradition and modernity.
-The Fallen Garden : A garden where plants of all the planets who were saved by the Hunt are. It's also the place where the Yamato was before the Emanator of Lan gets him.
-The Shackling Prison : The prison of Xianzhou, where all the criminals of the Alliance are located. In the depths of the prison, just one person is remained... Shuhu, Emanator of Abundance.
-The siege of the Ten Lords Commission : The place where all the Ten Lords (not included the Fallen King and the Stellar Queen) are when there is no process. It's also the place where all the Judges, the Wraith Wardens and the Aurumations are when they don't have missions.
-The boats Goldsmithery : The place where the boats of the Alliance are repair. Actually, the Cangcheng is here for reparation after the destruction of Rahu.
-Other places... How to discover them ? Play~
And here is some clarifications !
So, who is the Marshals ?
In my idea, Hua is a false Marshal, to cover and hide the Shìjiè-Chuán, but she's really powerful. She would be a Fu Hua expy... And I will talk about her later...
The reals Marshals are Rei -The Fallen King- and Xingxing -The Stellar Queen-.
Rei is the Emanator (and the only) of Lan. Called the Fallen King because of a legend, he's considered like the most powerful person of the Alliance. He carries a divine katana called the Yamato-Shinigami. (nb : Yamato > Yama, Hindu god and judge of the dead. The Chinese god Yanluowang or Yanluo Wang has his origins in Yama. Shinigami > Death Kami). I will talk about him later.
Xingxing (nb : star (星星) in Chinese) is an Emanator of Nous and a Eclairor (?) of IX. Called the Stellar Queen because she uses stars with martial art for fight, she done renovations in the Shìjiè-Chuán for make it more modern. I will talk about her later too.
The Marshals are the boss of Xianzhou and of all the factions who follow the Hunt, like the Galaxy Rangers. They rule all the commissions, and are very important, but they rule different commissions. For example, The Fallen King rule the Cloud Knights, but the Stellar Queen rule the Artisanship Commission. The only Commission they rule together is the Ten Lords Commission.
Who is the Ten Lords ?
In my idea, the Ten Lords Commission would be composed with eight Lords and the two Marshals, and that would be the Ten Lords. In game, it's said that nobody knows where the commission is despite the members of the Commission them-self, but she would be in the Shìjiè-Chuán. The Ten Lords would be :
-The Fallen King ;
-The Stellar Queen ;
-Yuen (I will talk about her later) ;
-Styx, an Emanator of Finality and a member of the Galaxy Rangers (I will talk about him later);
-Athena (I will talk about her later) ;
-and other people... NPCs, so we don't care about them.
Who is really Hua ?
In my idea, Hua would be a "Marshal". When she (in my mind, she's a she) appears in public, she is the Marshal, but in the Shìjiè-Chuán, she's judge like a General. Her title would be the "Fenghuang" (nb : phoenix of Chinese mythology). She would be in the General of the Cangcheng when he would be repair.
But... The Cangcheng is destroyed, no ?
Yes, he was devoured by the activated planet Rahu. But in the year 8098 (so two years before the game), Rei destroyed Rahu (and killed ~10 000 000 000 of abominations). That liberated the remains of the Cangcheng, and Xianzhou is trying repair him.
Why Shuhu is in the prison ? Shouldn't be dead ?
Technically, she's in prison, but it's precised that nobody knows if it's the really Shuhu of not. In fact, in each prison of Xianzhou, a few reproductions mecha-organics were made by the Stellar Queen for hide the real Shuhu. In the Shìjiè-Chuán, she's just a spirit, seal in a transparant box cell. She just wants to talk with five persons : The Fallen King, the Stellar Queen, Yuen, Blade and Jing Yuan. The unique persons who know that Shuhu is alive are the Ten Lords, the Generals and the Stellaron Hunters. Her real body and remains are with the Abundance, but originally her remains were with Xianzhou, and her spirit was with the Abundance.
Now, here is some more lore that I created :
The Trinity of the Abundance :
If you never see Yaoshi, THEY have a lot of plants in THEIR representation. There is a wheat, a bramble, and a large tree.
I imagine that the members of Abundance considered that these three plants are divines. For them, the wheat represent the immortality, the bramble represent the price to pay for become immortal and the thanks to Yaoshi, and the tree represent the life the Abundance offer to the mortals.Traditionally, the Emanators must wear one of these three symbols. For example, Shuhu wears brambles for gives her blood to Yaoshi.
At the opposite, each plant that the Hunt has purified is considered as a sin. For example, each lotus in the Xianzhou Alliance is a sin for Abundance. But the lotus in the planets of Abundance are holy. The lotus is the incarnation of Yaoshi THEM-SELF, but only if it's in a planet of Abundance.
Rakshasa and Luocha :
If you know Luocha, I think I don't to explain that is said that he's related to the Abundance. And Luocha is an other name for "Rakshasa", a type of evil spirit of the Buddhist mythologize who are cannibals. So, I will tell you who they are :
So, after the planet of Luocha get destroyed and his wife gets killed under his eyes, Yaoshi gave to him immortality and powers to become an Emanator of Abundance. Luocha asks to resuscitated his wife, but Yaoshi tells that THEY will do that if Luocha destroys one of the different boats of the Xianzhou Alliance. But Luocha, who was a doctor in his original planet, cannot do that. But the time past, and he couldn't do that... But Yaoshi implants an sort of mara in him, like an evil spirit, so Luocha decided something.
I imagine that Luocha create a another corpse/puppet with remains of different corpses, and transverse the evil part of him in this, but not his powers and his immortality, to trying to find an another way to resuscitate his wife. He create a coffin with powers of Abundance for conserve the corpse of his love, and decided to leave the Abundance, and became a interstellar merchant for trying to discover how to resuscitate his wife.
But Yaoshi couldn't accept that. So THEY gave powers and life to the puppet contained Rakshasa, and THEY gave immortality. And Rakshasa became an Emanator of Yaoshi, for avenge him and Yaoshi. But because he was born from Luocha spirit, he has his savior of doctor.
Rakshasa tries, with Shuhu and the living planet Rahu, to destroy the Shìjiè-Chuán. But the Stellar Queen fought him, and "kill him". But Rakshasa false his death, and he takes with him the remains of Shuhu.
Rakshasa is known for his cannibalism and for his experiences. He's like a Dottore in term of personality, but more crazy and more psychopathic.
The Yamato-Shinigami and the divine spirits of the Hunt :
So, what is the Yamato-Shinigami ?
This saber is an odachi created by Lan, to purge the Abominations and for the Emanators of Lan. So, Lan created this saber with a galaxy and imaginary energy for this first Emanator, but when he dies, Lan hid the saber in the Shìjiè-Chuán for the next Emanator... A long time ago, Rei meditated in the Stellar Garden after the death of his mother, and the Yamato has called him. Since this event, he and the Yamato are lied and the odachi is his saber.
Lan doesn't choose the Carrier of the Yamato, but it's the saber himself who choose his owner. The saber has only two owners in his life : The first Emanator of Lan and Rei.
Lan doesn't place the powers he gives to his Emanator in the Emanator, he place the powers in the Yamato. More the Emanator does miracles and heroics acts, more the Emanator gain the power. Actually, Rei have 100% of his powers, but there is a state more powerful : the Resonance. The Resonance is a phenomenon that caused when the willpower of the Emanator and the willpower of the Yamato are the same, and the power of the Emanator are increase so much that the people say when the Fallen King reach this state temporary, he becomes powerful as a Aeon.
But this state can be permanent, if the willpower of Rei became so strong that him and the Yamato become just one. The spirit in the saber changes his form according to who is the person who meet him. And he doesn't fight, the spirit of the Yamato-Shinigami doesn't fight with Emanators. The Yamato measure ~225 cm/~7,3 feet, and his pound is unknown. (The pound depend of who carries the blade. Very light for the carrier but very heavy for the other)
But what are the divine spirits of the Hunt ?
Do you know the Lighting Lord ? I think yes.>! In the lore, it's "said" and showed that the past General of the Luofu, Teng Xiao, uses the Lightning Lord, like Jing Yuan. But not the same sword, because of the Starfall Reverie has been forged by Blade when he was Yingxing.!< So I imagined that :
The first Generals, when they passed away, Lan take there spirits and gives a lot of power. Since the creations of these spirits, they are give to the Generals, until they choose to retire. Then, it's give to the next Generals, and this cycle is repeated. These spirits are unlike of the spirit of the Yamato, because they don't give their powers and doesn't are in a weapon. Plus, the spirit of the Yamato can't fight with his carrier.
Technically, the General Arbiters are Emanators, like Rei, but the divine spirits changes all. Rei does have powers of Lan/The Hunt and he has the Yamato-Shinigami, but if he fights without, he changes nothing (just the fact that the Yamato uses as a multiplying for the slashes. But if the Generals fights without the spirits, it would changes. (it's a theory/created lore, so please, not rude in comments !)
So the divine spirits would be like the reasons why the Generals of the Hunt are considered as Emanators.
So, now, I think the first part is finish... Let's go to the second part !

Second part :

The relics :
For the relics, I imagine some relics and some planet ornaments :
1 : Set of the Tearful Child of the Moon :
Memories of the Moon's Child : Beyond dreams, the tearful child of the Moon remembers his mother during the day, and finds her again at night. The child of the Moon is said to protect his mother from nightmarish creatures as she searches for her lost husband among the stars.
Protective cuddly toy of the Moon's Child : Beyond dreams, the tearful child of the Moon protects his mother with his teddy bear during the day, and finds her again at night. 2024.05.21 02:40 L-DFile How are the Kuja Tribe related to Joy Boy?!

In the recent chapter of One Piece, when we saw every character watching/hearing Vegapunk's message, we got a brief cameo appearance of Marguerite and some of the Kuja Pirates who were with her.
And during that same chapter, we learned that Joy Boy was surprisingly the first pirate ever, and even the tales of Nika originated in Elbaf of all places!
Now, it's no surprise that during both Vegapunk's message in the upcoming chapters as well as the next arc possibly being Elbaf, we will learn how the story of the Sun God was shared throughout the world. Which eventually led a few to worship him, like Kuma and his family did, for example.
However, there is indeed one tribe that would also be a good example of this, and that is none other than the Kuja tribe of Amazon Lily. So without further ado, let's begin this post, shall we.
For quite some time, I have had a feeling that Amazon Lily had a history with Joy Boy, the Ancient Kingdom, and even the Void Century. And to prove it one way or another, I have some multiple theories to help us out.
Theory 1: The Jolly Roger
When looking at both the Jolly Roger of Kuja Pirates & even some of Hancock's outfits, they each bear the same sun-like design as that of the symbols of the Kouzuki clan, Alabasta, Skypiea, and even the cross at Kuma's church.
The only difference is that while every society's symbol have had 8 circles surrounding 1 large one, the logo of the Kuja tribe shows a "9th" circle (or a snake to be specific).
However, Oda may use the "6th Power Ranger" trope where Amazon Lily is meant to become the Ancient Kingdom's extra set of allies. Which leads to the next part of the post.
Theory 2: Nefertari D. LILY
Ever since the Reverie flashback, when the name of Vivi's ancestor was mentioned for the 1st time, many people had a theory that Nefertari D. Lily was the founder & 1st leader of the Kuja tribe, as well as Amazon Lily itself being named after her.
But while that theory may sound good & promising, I am not so sure a single name is enough to fully connect the dots.
However, the only way it can is if either the Kuja tribe has a special Poneglyph that mentions Lily, just like how the one in FMI had Joyboy's apology to the Mermaid Princess from his era. Or during the Elbaf arc where one of the Ohara books revealed what became of Vivi's ancestor in her final years.
Theory 3: Gloriosa & the Rocks Pirates
When seeing the Rocks Pirates during Kuma's flashback, I was very surprised that Gloriosa was actually a part of that crew, which may explain why Hancock considered her a traitor.
Now it's obvious that the reason Gloriosa was a part of the Rocks Pirates was because she was possibly in love with one of crewmembers.
However, another reason she joined was because Gloriosa may have thought of Rocks as the person who would carry on Joy Boy's will to change the world for the better. Similar to how King believed that Kaidou would be Joy Boy or at least what his capitan thought who that person would be.
Unfortunately, it was only during the God Valley incident that Gloriosa soon learned that Rocks wasn't opposing the world nobles in an attempt to save the world from their oppression. But rather make himself the replacement for those tyrants! Which of course lead her to regret her decision making, and even vow to never let anyone else make the same mistakes she made!
With that, now comes the final theory of the post.
Theory 4: Hancock's future role
Now I understand that not everyone will agree with me for multiple reasons, but I do believe that it is definitely important for Hancock to learn about the God Valley incident, as well as the roles the people there played.
And just to be clear, I am sure that Hancock & her sisters will understand why Rayleigh & his crew stood in Rocks's way, even if it meant allowing the Celestial Dragons to remain in power until now. As well as understanding why Gloriosa "betrayed" her people, even though she wanted to do what could've been best for Amazon Lily.
By adding that, and even how she now wants to meet Luffy as soon as possible, then it is possible for Hancock to succeed in what Gloriosa wasn't able to as long as the Pirate Empress is with the right group of people.
Who knows, perhaps this may connect to why Oda hasn't drawn what Hancock would look like in a bad time line, even though that could mostly be speculation.
Now while I know not everyone believes in the possibility of Hancock becoming the 10th Senior Officer of Emperor Luffy's crew, I can see her join forces with the SH assuming she learns that the rest of the crew were also able to oppose the Elders like their captain.
Plus, it wasn't even too long ago that Saturn himself became aware that the SH are a crew who WORKED TOGETHER, which is something the Rocks Pirates mostly lacked.
However, even if this were to inspire Hancock to join the SH, the real question is whether or not Hancock will let go of her bias thoughts on some of Luffy's other allies like Koby or Vegapunk for the greater good of the world? Which will be mentioned in the next post when I have the time.
Anyway, this is everything I can offer, but what do you think? If you have any opinions on this topic then please tell me in the comments section below, and be on the lookout for my next post where I'll be discussing about the VS Blackbeard arc & how it will play out. Thank you.

Thank you.

2024.05.21 02:29 Ok_Coconut_2560 Noodles

My family has always been of great minds. I hated it. Growing up and having to study day and night to try and live up to them was extremely exhausting when I couldn't care how things worked as long as I was happy. I gave up but somehow everything kept turning out to be true.
Over my lifetime I have become the Gorden Ramsey of the science world. Known for my temper and also for huge things like curing world hunger using play-doe and cancer with baby powder I got in a back street ally while drunk.
To get my family off my back I started making random ideas so they could see me as a failure and leave me alone but...they keep working. And soon people started to praise me. Fame has left me with nothing but more and more attention. So today I plan to make sure that everyone can just think I'm insane and leave me alone and not some king.
I chuckled like a kid who was opening a Christmas present as I heard the crowd of people chatting and talking loudly as I hid behind my stage in a grey tight suit that my sister had picked out. I sighed and was ready to walk out and make a fool out of myself but my brother stopped me.
" Jack... I just want you to know how proud I am of you. Dad would have loved to see you right now. "
I thought it was ironic because last night while chilling on the couch watching TV and eating chips I made this theory up. He dusted off my shoulders held them tight and looked me in the eyes taking in the moment.
" go give them hell man. "
He had a goofy smile just like Dad but spoke with confidence.
" you got it, man. "
I heard my name being called onto the stage and the uproar startled me for a second but I collected myself and headed out after giving him a nod just to entertain him.
The lights were blinding as I grabbed the mic and looked at the table in front of me with a small box with the ingredients I needed and a chalkboard behind me.
After I stood still for a minute the crowd died down. I had not told anyone what I was presenting so the whole world was watching without a clue of what I was doing this time.
"Hello everyone. Today I believe I have my most important presentation yet..."
The crowd grew silent and hung on every word. And I heard my voice around the room through the speakers.
" Today I have with me a box...and inside is spaghetti I had for breakfast. "
The crowd laughed thinking it was a joke
" shut up "
The crowd grew silent once more
"Behind me is a chalkboard and I will now present my new findings to all of you...I have found out how to make portals to other worlds. "
A man in the far back of the audience yelled bullshit in a heavy Indian accent but he was so far it was a faint sound for me. I smiled at that thinking I had finally found something that would make me lose my title and I could go ahead and live a life without people making me feel like an evil man for not helping others.
I opened the box got a handful of the noodles and threw them at the chalkboard. I then grabbed a paper towel on standby to clean myself.
The noodles hit the board and slowly moved and rested on a spot on the board. I made eye contact with my brother backstage and he had a look on his face showing he believed in me.
I spun the board dropping the noodles to the ground I then grabbed the chalk and drew around the sauce and noodles that stuck to the board then drew my attention to the others that had fallen on the floor and drew an outline of that.
After it finished I threw the chalk in the crowd violently hitting an old lady in the face.
" Quickly I want a show of hands who thinks I'm a crazy guy "
Everyone raised their hands and I laughed to myself
I then went behind the board and laid it horizontally. I grabbed a small knife in my pocket and poked my finger with it. The crimson blood fell and hit the chalk and then as more and more blood hit the chalk it started glowing.
" you have got to be joking. "
I said out loud as it started to spark an orange glow and it slowly grew color to the rest of the chalk in orange sparks.
Once the symbol was fully sparking with orange the sauce began to swell and move around in a counterclockwise manner. I stepped away from it in shock as small parts of the blood in my finger began to float to the parts where it fell on the floor I drew my outlines on and started sparking those as well.
It started to smoke and hiss as if lightning could whisper and the orange began to take shape and the sauce made a doorway. The parts that were not on the board began to grow ice around them and started to make designs on the floor circling me and the board. Suddenly it grew in size and a large booming voice was heard through the portal as I felt panic of people start to set in.
A huge claw came out and scrapped the sides of my table trying to crawl out from the world it had been trapped in. Cold winds hit me as they cut my skin and threw around my clothes. As I saw the table was now melting from its touch.
A slimy green claw with mucus like a face-hugger egg from the movie Alien carved through the floor and pulled the rest of its body out slowly. A beast stood at 12 feet tall adjusting to our world as goop grew and shaped its body as people screamed, ran, and stood frozen in fear.
As it looked around it locked its spider-like eyes and swerled around coming out from the portal and twisting and turning around the body as it made its way to its head finding a place to rest. It then locked its eyes with me and its jaw twisted slowly from an ant-like maw to mine and slowly shrunk and it soon took the shape of me and knelt on the floor and spoke to me.
" master. "
I stood in shock as everyone seemed to calm down and watched to see what I would do.
"...umm "My family has always been of great minds. I hated it. Growing up and having to study day and night to try and live up to them was extremely exhausting when I couldn't care how things worked as long as I was happy. I gave up but somehow everything kept turning out to be true.

I stood in shock as everyone seemed to calm down and watched to see what I would do.

"...umm "

Part two of the noodle demon.
Now that this creature knelt before me I realized that the room I was in was so terrible quietly you could hear everyone's ass get tight in anticipation of what would happen next.
" ...what...are you. "
I spoke carefully to the being that had taken the shape of myself. It still took my breath away and my throat was dry.
The beast was a deep green. The color mixed with shades of grey streaming from it. The longer I looked at it I could see it getting closer to what I looked like shaping itself.
From small flowing green tendrils to an arm they grew as they twisted and made bone then muscle and finally skin.
It locked eyes with me and it smiled deeply at me. As it formed the face finally.
" Your vassle. "
My eyes had not moved to the crowd at all but even though the lights hit the stage so hard it was enveloped in smoke.
The creature's eyes glowed as it answered brightly, not figuratively. This thing's eyes were glowing.
"To serve you, We are bound by blood magic. I am a reflection of your desires, Master, " it said, its voice now a whisper in my mind.
It began to stand up as my grey suit began to form on it and by the time it stood fully up it had copied what I looked like.
" let me explain everything. "
My body frozen in fear woke up with adrenaline as I blinked and a flash of green smoke covered my vision as he teleported right to me face to face.
Its body turned to smoke and went into the slits of my eyes. I felt visions follow me in my peripheral vision but surprisingly no pain followed power filled me and it felt like one hell of a drug.
My body and mind altered.
I was now in a very dark place with no walls or light except my reflection on the floor which waved like water.
I took a step back looking around and back to the reflection of me on the ground.
Soon the water rippled and my reflection fell through the floor like gravity was inverted. he flew upright and water fell off of him as he looked at me as he now stood straight ahead of me. He was just reflecting in the water but now eyed me down.
Collecting my nerves.
I begin to speak.
" what do you want..."
He was still in my form and stood perfectly straight. Now with water dripping from his...my hair.
Slight stubble with hair that hung down and my hazel eyes were not present within him but I was greeted with a swelling acidic green that doubled the size of my pupil.
" to serve you. "
He made no other movement than putting his hands behind his back like a soldier at ease.
I could not tell if it was lying or not.
" ...is that it? "
" I am the embodiment of your fear desires and brilliance. You have shaped me. Your desire for solitude birthed me. I will aid you in shaping the world how you see fit. Your reality becomes mine. "
There was a slight echo in the room as he spoke.
" wait...where are we "
I questioned haphazardly
" your mind. "
An awkward silence was in the air until I spoke
" so...am I just standing on the stage not making a sound? "
He gave me a concerned look.
" no...time has frozen outside for you. You may sleep here without having to in the real world so to others you look as if you never rest and you may think and plan what to do in battle here. For them, it will be about two seconds...Do...do you not have any knowledge of what I am? "
Suddenly I felt bad like I had encountered someone famous and I had no idea who they were. A slap in the face like a popular kid meeting someone who had never heard of them. Ego shattered.
" ok sorry no. I...don't go around reading about...monsters?"
I felt like was I saying the n-word of the demon realm not knowing if that word was offensive.
He folded his arms a little upset.
"Are you not a warrior? "
" well...no I...just watch TV and cook here and there- "
The demon cut me off
" weak. "
" excuse me? "
" look. I am an immortal being and after a while you get bored. So I'm sorry if I may be a little upset after being bonded with some nobody. "
I got quiet and I was a little annoyed that I was being roasted by some demon that I just met.
Its form wavers and eyes begin to open on its skin. Cheeks forhead etc.
"After being a god for so long it's fun to play with limitations. Makes things extremely exciting. "
" what do you mean by that? "
" look. You can only be so entertained by the same things. Life gets boring and now...you are going to help me with this. I get to have pure entertainment while you get every wish you could ever want. A mutual bond no? "
He then closed his eyes annoyed and the other eyes meshed back to his skin.
" though... the TV is not that interesting...life is what gets the blood pumping"
I felt the need to quickly change the topic
"Are there others like you? "
The room began to take shape very slowly as the water floor turned to wood and walls went around us.
" of course. You may meet them one day "
Confused and curious I pressed.
"Meet them? "
" yes. Summoning one of us is considered a threat to them. "
He spoke while opening and closing his newly found hand except backward.
" hm...no that don't look right "
I quickly responded
" Wait! How is doing that a threat! "
"Well, one doesn't just accidentally Summon one of us to suddenly get powers beyond human control. "
I thought back to how I summoned him by accident with some food I made.
" well...funny story but I summoned you using my breakfast..."
I had never regretted speaking so much as in that moment.
" What... "
Acid dripped from his words. Literally. His pupils split in half and his bottom jaw ripped open like an ant and curved giving sharpness to the bone.
"Please don't kill me. "
The room began to look like a cozy cabin with a fireplace and he slowly went back to normal.
" I would if I could. I've never felt so disrespected. We are bonded by your blood. If you die...I die. "
Suddenly I felt at ease by this new information.
Then a thought came to my mind
" ...God's can die? "
" you did hear me, right? "
The SAS from this guy was unneeded and I was starting to miss him being on his knees as weird as that sounds.
" so...all that power gone.... in an instant... "
" well...no actually God's powers don't just disappear they transfer to whoever killed them...wait...hold up."
He suddenly had an epiphany.
A smile grew on his face and he grabbed my shoulders
" you! You are going to help me kill the other gods! "
He sounded proud but I let him down.
" ha! No. "
" oh come on! Don't be like that. "
He did a pout.
"Look, man. I'm not killing gods for you. Just because you are bored. "
" hey...they might send people to kill you because you bonded with me. "
"What did I ever do to them? "
"They have a system to this stuff. They like to build and watch things play out. You're a problem. That can mess it up. So...they kill ya...to be honest, I don't know any other way to explain it, man. You know people normally just use my power to kill people and become a king and know this already. "
"This is outrageous. "
" bro. Look if you do this I will be able to get their powers and you will be able to do so much more than what I offer "
I tilted my head
" what can you do? Know what never mind. I will just talk to them and figure things out. "
He groaned and his form melted down sagging and it shot back up reforming
"Is there not anything that you want? Anything in the world? Gods don't put themselves in physical forms. They give people power and can make beings to hunt you. And if they care enough to come down themself. Ha, good luck."
I stopped and thought about it trying to weigh the options of pissing off higher beings.
Suddenly. I found something.
"Can you bring back the dead..."
He stopped confused.
" well...no "
" then I don't want anything "
" wait! "
He threw his arms out pleading
"I don't...but another God does..."
He crosses his arms smiling. He had left the question hanging letting me reconsider his offer.
I stopped and thought for a while before looking back up to him.
I let out a sigh and looked him in the eyes
" ok...you are going to help me get my father back. "
The demon smirked.

2024.05.21 02:12 Tony-KGB Three Sister,"The Morrígan" Lore/story theory I've been researching. Need peoples input and thoughts.

"The Morrígan"

First off, I apologize if this has been thought of or posted before either in reddit or youtube. ( I have yet to find anyone talking about it"
This is just some food for thought as I've been heavy into Elden Ring lore lately. I really enjoy watching youtube videos about Elden ring lore and story. Love watching tarnished/ vaatti and others just to name a few.
I Love trying to tie in real life history or mythology and how it possibly inspired story decisions. It can possibly help us uncover story secrets before they are revealed.
This is going to be all over the place, because I don't have a ton of time to make a huge presentation but I'll try and give you the cliff the notes of what I uncovered and hopefully it inspires someone smarter than me to piece something together.
I first stumbled upon "The Morrigan" mythology when I was watching a Quelaag video and she mentioned how the deathbirds are keepers of the flame. It got me thinking about how in old roman pagan times there was a group of woman called the vestal virgins who were in charge of keeping romes sacred flame. So I googled what that flame in roman/pagan times represented. I somehow stumbled across Brigid or Brigit meaning 'exalted one who was a goddess of pre-Christian Ireland. She appears in Irish mythology as a member of the Tuatha Dé Danann, the daughter of the Dagda and wife of Bres, with whom she had a son named Ruadán. (From Wiki)
According to myth, the Tuatha de Danann resided in a mythical country described as the underworld.
They live in the Otherworld, which is described as either a parallel world or a heavenly land beyond the sea or under the earth's surface.\1]) Many of them are associated with specific places in the landscape, especially the sídh mounds; the ancient burial mounds and passage tombs which are entrances to Otherworld realms.\1])\2]) The Tuath Dé can hide themselves with a féth fíada ('magic mist')\2]) and appear to humans only when they wish to.\1]) ( kinda like how Melina appears to us )
She has some crazy similarities to Marika, the flower that represents her is dandelion/sunflower that we see all over the lands, the animal that is most associated with her are lambs... found all over limgrave. Also was known as the goddess who could create trees or something like that. I won't bore you with all the things, but if your interested there are a lot of associations that can be tied to the goddess Brigid and the Elden ring story if you have time to research it.
I dove deeper in Wikipedia and clicked on the link for her father the Dagda. He is considered the great god of Irish mythology And things got a bit interesting here for me. He is often described as a large bearded man or giant. Again I need the help of you guys to try and tie these mythological gods to a possible connection to the Elden Ring characters. I have a few ideas for this guy.
The Dagda has several other names or epithets which reflect aspects of his character.
One being Eochaid
There is a sword in Elden ring called The Regalia of Eochaid, ( Treasured sword of Eochaid, a lesser, long-vanished domain )
I think the old man in the photo from the DLC trailer could be this Dagda character or possibly one of the Giant skeletons sitting on the throne in the under ground.
The Dagda has an affair with Boann, the goddess of the River Boyne. She lives at Brú na Bóinne with her husband Elcmar. The Dagda impregnates her after sending Elcmar away on a one-day errand. To hide the pregnancy from Elcmar, the Dagda casts a spell on him, making "the sun stand still" so he will not notice the passing of time. This kind of sounds similar to Rhadan holding the stars back? I have a feeling there was a secret child had out of wedlock of some kind that will be revealed in the DLC, possibly its messmer?
comparisons are starting to seem more than a coincidence.
I noticed on Wiki that one of the Consorts for the "Dagda" was someone named the Morrigan
Consort means - a wife, husband, or companion, in particular the spouse of a reigning monarch.
When reading up on the Morrigan, I was astonished and some of the things I found.
The Morrígan or Mórrígan, also known as Morrígu, is a figure from Irish mythology. The name is Mór-ríoghan in modern Irish before the spelling reform,\1]) and it has been translated as "great queen" or "phantom queen".
he Morrígan is often described as a trio of individuals, all sisters, called "the three Morrígna".\5])\9])\10]) In mythology membership of the triad is given as Badb, Macha, and the Morrigan, who may be named Anand).\11]) It is believed that these were all names for the same goddess
The Morrígan is mainly associated with war and fate, especially with foretelling doom, death, or victory in battle. In this role she often appears as a crow, the badb.\2]) She incites warriors to battle and can help bring about victory over their enemies. The Morrígan encourages warriors to do brave deeds, strikes fear into their enemies,
Doesn't the Badb sound like Melina?? she often appears as a crow, Melina has a crow tattoo on her eye. She Morrigan encourages warriors ( us the tarnished ) to do brave deeds?
Her role was to not only be a symbol of imminent death, but to also influence the outcome of war. Most often, she did this by appearing as a crow flying overhead, and would either inspire fear or courage in the hearts of the warriors. In some cases, she is written to have appeared in visions to those who are destined to die in battle
The Morrígan is described as the envious wife of The Dagda and a shape-shifting goddess
I'm not 100% sure of this obviously, but It sounds like Melina is one of three sisters who are a Triple Deity. Is the Morrigan the dusk eyed queen, marika and someone else? or are Melina / miquella and Melania all the same Goddess?
The more you look into this mythology, the inspiration is all plastered all over elden ring.

The Morrigan: Triple Goddess of Death by Anna Otto Contra is another great page I read up on this.

Known as a triple goddess, consisting of three distinct entities, She is often associated with death and is considered a guardian of the dead. As a shapeshifter, she possesses the ability to transform into various forms.
As a goddess of death, Morrigan is believed to have a close connection to the realm of the dead. She is sometimes seen as guiding and protecting the souls of deceased warriors(tarnished?), ensuring their safe passage to the Netherworld

The Three Sisters

In the legends of the Morrigan and her three sisters, Badb, Nemain, and Macha, a powerful trio emerges, each with different aspects of war, death, and transition.
Nemain, another sister, assumes the role of the comfort goddess in the transition of death (Fia or deathbed companion?)
This passage is even more insane... possible connections to Ranni or Mesmer?
Lunar circles and snake coils are also significant symbols associated with the Morrigan. The lunar circles represent the moon’s influence on the flow of life and death. This symbolizes her connection to the cycles of nature and the passage of time. The snake coils and triple snake spirals reflect her transformative abilities and the shedding of old skin to reveal new beginnings. They represent the cycle of rebirth and renewal, capturing the Morrigan’s association with both death and regeneration.
I know I'm all over the place with this, but I was hoping to inspire someone in the community to maybe make a more clear connection with this Irish Mythology and the story of Elden Ring and maybe uncover an unknown part of the story.
Again I apologize if this has already been covered somewhere, but every link I click on Wikipedia regarding this group has crazy inspirational connections with the Elden Ring Story.
If you had the patience and curiosity to read through my ramblings your a legend lol.
Please post your thoughts, ideas...

2024.05.21 01:16 TamiGoGo HALLUGREG THEORY: The Mimic used the gas from Dittophobia on Gregory while he was being controlled as GGY

HALLUGREG THEORY: The Mimic used the gas from Dittophobia on Gregory while he was being controlled as GGY
Key: GGY: Gregory under the control of the mimc ‘GGY’: Book from Tales from the pizzaplex TFTP: Tales From the Pizzaplex CC: The Crying child (fnaf 4 protag) SB: Security Breach

2024.05.21 00:32 beardpudding Is Reddit listening to me and using that info to serve relevant content (not ads)?

For a while now, I’ve been experiencing this where I talk about something with someone in person, and then later I see a post on Reddit about that exact thing, or something similar. I understand about ads, and basically get how that works, but these aren’t ads. They are seemingly organic content, but it matches something so obscure, that it’s got me wondering what even is going on.
It got to the point where I started “documenting” it in a note. This is not an exhaustive list, but should give an idea of what I am talking about.

60+ Year Old DM does not charge his friends in Pay-to-Play campaign, insults the party for his amusement, and is probably a misogynist. Spoilers for Curse of Strahd.
Last Monday I posted a quick and dirty RPG horror story about a pay-to-play campaign. This will be a proper attempt at telling the whole story, from the alluring start to my bitter resignation. Spoilers ahead for the beginning portions of Curse of Strahd. Trigger Warning for bullying and mentions of self-harm.
Mondays and Tuesdays are my guaranteed days off, so that is when I am available to enjoy my TTRPG hobby. Typically I am involved in three or four campaigns a week as either a DM or a player. A year-long campaign I was running reached its finale in the middle of March. When that ended and the time slot opened up, I wanted to be a player for a while. So I started looking in all the usual places; Discord servers I am a part of, StartPlaying ads, LFG threads, and the Roll20 boards. I indiscriminately applied for free-to-play and pay-to-play games at 1 PM on Mondays and ultimately got invited to join a Curse of Strahd campaign. I’ve experienced good and bad games in both camps, so this story is not about bashing pay-to-play games. Being a DM requires time, effort, and availability; and I am willing to pay since free games are not typically hosted during that time slot.
The DM hosting this Curse of Strahd campaign presented himself as a knowledgeable Grognard from the Gygaxian era. A retired man who ran D&D games to have fun and get a bit of spending money as a side hustle. He made promises that this campaign was going to be more than just an out-of-the-box 5th edition game. It would run the gambit of Ravenloft’s rich history taking elements from older editions and novels like ‘I Strahd: The Memoirs of a Vampire’. The game would be going from level 1 to 20, as defeating Strahd and escaping Barovia was just the beginning. He planned on the party visiting other domains of dread and dark places within the shadowfel. During a voice call interview, we spoke about table conduct, civility, respect, lines and veils, and all the things that sold me the idea he was a professional DM and cared about the integrity of his campaign. At no point did this grown-ass old man proclaim anything along the lines of, “This will be like playing D&D with two friends in a basement, and you’re the third wheel who buys our snacks”. If he had, I would not have signed up. We shall call him the Bantering DM for the rest of the story.
Two weeks go by and the game fills with four players: My half-goblin moon druid named Olivia; an elf bladesinger wizard named Cayden; a purple tiefling lore bard named Eternal Cake; lastly the problem player Jormungandr the fallen-aasimar giant barbarian. We have session zero with everyone in the Discord voice channel. The Bantering DM goes over the same points from the interview and has us go around the table so that we can introduce ourselves, our characters, and the lines/veils we’d like to avoid. I don’t like witnessing instances of child abuse, Cayden does not like descriptions of spiders, Eternal Cake does not want the party to torture NPCs, and Jormungandr asks that we be patient with him as he has ADHD. I go above and beyond by making high-resolution character tokens for everyone. As we are chatting and filling out our character sheets, it is revealed that Eternal Cake and Jormungandr are longtime friends of the Bantering DM and are not paying for the sessions like Cayden and myself. Personally, I’d feel more comfortable if all the players either paid a fee or played for free, but I let it slide because everyone seemed nice at the time.

In session one, unfortunately, Eternal Cake was not able to join us so we had to puppet his purple tiefling. The Bantering DM uses the Creeping Mists introduction. Each of our characters was spirited to Barovia with whatever equipment we had on our person. Cayden and Jormungandr sounded mildly inconvenienced upon discovering that they were kidnapped by magical mist and then plopped into a dark forest. Meanwhile, Olivia was scared out of her mind and avoided the three strange men. She decided to climb a tree to find a road or landmarks. Survival checks were made, she discovered a road not too far away and heard the howling of wolves in the distance. Even though she did not trust these men, she motioned for them to follow her, hopefully, they’d be safe together.
We were ambushed by three wolves on the road. During the surprise round, both Cayden and Eternal Cake were rendered unconscious. Pack tactics caused a critical hit on Cayden, the wolf’s bite attack damage was 13, meaning his wizard with 7 hit points was a single point away from instantly dying. Thankfully, I prepared healing spells for just such an occasion. It was at this point that I got to experience the Bantering DM and Jormungandr’s dynamic.
DM: “At advantage from pack tactics, that is a 17 to hit.”
Barb: “No that does not hit me.”
DM: “Your token is linked to your sheet. You have 15 AC, my guy.”
Barb: “What about with a shield? Ever think about that?”
DM: “Even if you had a shield, that's 17, it meets it beats. But you're using a maul.”
Barb: “Does Cake have silvery barbs? I demand a reroll.”
DM: “Cake is unconscious.”
Me: “Um, I will get him up when it is my turn. Can you drop it?”
Barb: “Fine.”
DM: “That is 7 piercing damage.”
Barb: “7 bullshit damage! I have not even had a turn. I’m not raging so it is FULL!”
Olivia played cautiously, healing the downed party members and using ranged cantrips. Jormungandr did big damage with his maul but complained and argued with the Bantering DM, extending each of his turns longer than they needed to be. Injured, but grateful to be alive, we travel down the muddy road.
The party makes it to the village of Barovia. We wander the streets and eventually find the Blood of the Vine tavern. Cayden and Jormungandr do the majority of the talking, as Olivia is unsure if the villagers will be hostile or welcoming to a goblin like her. The Bantering DM laced the expositional dialog with a lot of profanity, personal attacks, and spitting on the floor. The barkeep explained that spitting was a Barovian custom, that if an evil thing is expressed one must spit quickly otherwise demons will possess the soul. The insults were primarily based on our characters' appearances. Cayden was called a knife-ear, short, girly man, hairless, and physically weak. Jormungandr was mocked for being stupid, a savage brute, and likely to get struck by lightning as he had a metal pauldron. Eternal Cake was spared as he was not at the session, though I imagine the Bantering DM had plenty to say about a purple devil man. The barkeep called Olivia an ugly greenskin, asked where the rest of her clothes were, if she was like goblins in fairytales that hide under children's beds to eat their toes, and that I may as well “get it over with as it will happen sooner or later”, implying that I should kill myself. When he said that, Olivia spat and glared at the man. Through that abuse, we learned the leader of the town recently died. His son Ismark was now in charge, but no one liked him. There was a cursed child with red hair named Ireena, taken in by the prior burgomaster. The ruler of this valley is called The Devil and he’s been sending monsters to torment the village recently. The priest of the local church had gone mad when his son died in a recent attack. Finally, there is a town further down the road called Vallaki. We rent a room and end the session with a milestone level up.
After the game wrapped up, we were still in the voice call and I expressed a couple of concerns I had about the banter during combat. Saying that it made the fight drag on for longer. I also said that I could handle rude or unlikeable NPCs and that I understand Barovia is a bleak atmosphere, but I felt the barkeep overstepped into abusive language with his comments. The Bantering DM apologized, said that it was all just in character, and excused the innkeeper by saying he is scared, small-minded, and considered us a bad omen on top of recent terrible events. I chalked it up to adjusting to a new group. This will be the only time that the Bantering DM will apologize or engage with my concerns and criticisms. After this, he would ignore what I had to say.
For session two Eternal Cake is unable to play again. The party woke up and left the inn. Immediately we are confronted by Ismark, he puffs himself up and banishes us from the town. Yelling for us to get out, that we were harming his people, we were unwelcome, and no merchant was legally allowed to trade with us. Then he stomped off unwilling to talk about whether or not we could help his people. Now, I’ve run Curse of Strahd before, I have meta-knowledge about things we can do in this village. There is content to explore, stuff to do, and ways to better the village. Some of which was hinted at by the barkeep last session. However, in character, Olivia was told to kill herself and a few hours later got banished. She does not belong here, she is not wanted, so the true neutral thing to do is leave. But in-character and out-of-character are very different beasts because I know that leaving would mean abandoning the story's most pivotal character Ireena. Jormungandr and Cayden both agree, well screw this town if everyone is going to be a jerk. I’m panicking, internally screaming, trying to come up with an in-character reason to force us to meet Ireena, but drawing a blank.
Then as we are about one hundred paces outside of town, we hear a young woman calling out after us. It is Ireena. She is running after us, short of breath and begging us to stop for a second. She explains that we are the heroes of prophecy. Asking if she could travel with us to Vallaki. The way that Bantering DM is playing Ireena, makes me mad, as he is putting on a stereotypical airhead voice and making her sound dumb. Cayden and Jormungandr pick up on this and ask a few questions. Ireena explains that she was never allowed out of the house and that this is the furthest she’s been outside of the village. She found her dad's old breastplate and rapier, but she’d never used them before. That she’s never been in a fight. Later on, the Bantering DM would show this by having her routinely make dexterity saving throws in combat to not trip and fall prone. Describing her as swinging wildly and whenever she did hit an enemy made it sound like an accident. Nor does she seem to have any bonds with her village, or care to say goodbye to her brother. The biggest problem is never mentioned out loud, but through meta-knowledge I know that her father has not been buried yet. This means that the Bantering DM chose to cut the funeral from the module, or that it still needs to be done but Ireena does not care about laying her father to rest.
We travel down the road and come to the gallows at the crossroads. It just so happens that Olivia sees the apparition of her own body dangling from the noose. She expresses sorrow and I hint at backstory trauma, calling the event “probably a bad memory of the last time I had a rope around my neck”. Then the Bantering DM performs the final part of Ireena’s character assassination. Ireena kneels down, looks Olivia in the eye, and says, “You must have gone mad”, then laughs at her. This is not Ireena, this is a careless fool with no empathy. I don’t know why the Bantering DM made these changes. Because he is sexist? To be funny? Is it because he considers the village portion of Barovia boring? Is he ignorant or malicious? I cannot answer these questions, nor will I pretend to be a mind reader. I am just laying out what he did.
We continued to travel down the road, eventually meeting an old woman with a cart headed toward the village. Ireena seemed to know this woman, calling her Granny, and spoke louder to imply the older woman was hard of hearing. She greeted us and offered pies for sale. With meta-knowledge I know that this is Morgantha, a night hag who kills people and grinds their bones at her windmill aptly named Bonegrinder. But I would never act on this knowledge nor spoil the surprise for anyone else. Jormungandr then asked, “Are the pies made of people?”, without any suspicious behavior or provocation. Granny said ‘no, of course not’. But then Jormungandr started to question the old lady intensely. Why are you traveling all by yourself? Are you not scared of wolves? How big is this woman DM? Does she look like she has an arcane focus? Is there anything weird about her cart? Can I do an insight check to sense her motivations? He hardly even let the DM answer the damn question before firing off another one. So I break character and say. “Stop meta-gaming! Knock it off!” Confronting Jormungandr seemed to get him to stop, but this should be the job of the DM, especially one who laid out a list of table etiquette during session zero. Once we resumed, in character I ran defense for the hag. Saying that as a druid I could talk to animals and giving them food often lets them know you are friendly. Just because she is an old woman, does not mean she was incapable of taking care of herself. To which the hag agreed and gave me a free pie.
After that, we got to the Vistani camp and Madame Eva’s fortune-telling. The cards we got were the best pulls I’ve ever seen, super thematic, and a great fated ally. The Sunsword would be at the beacon of Agronvostholt after we light it. The Tome is hidden in Baba Lysaga’s hut, makes sense that she’d keep her darling son's diary safe. The Holy Symbol is behind the sun at St. Markovia, so we have to confront a fallen angel to retrieve an amulet of faith. And we got the G.O.A.T. - Ezmerelda d'Avenir, we could run into her at a bunch of different places. All of this was meta-knowledge, of course, and unlike Jormungandr I did not intend to start demanding we go to these places to speedrun win D&D. We ended the session at that point, and once again we got a milestone level up.
I left the voice call, took a few days to cool off, and then carefully wrote out a respectful message detailing my frustrations to the Bantering DM. Both about Jormungandr’s meta-gaming outburst during the hag interaction and how he chose to portray Ireena Kolyana. I explained that she was coming across as an unempathetic ditz. The way she was acting made it difficult for my character to like or trust her. Hammering on the points about the funeral as well as her mocking Olivia at the gallows. I wrote that I understand there are many ways the community around Curse of Strahd has characterized Ireena. Ranging from Palidoozy’s disney princess version to Dragnacarta’s complete rework of her character into an arc to recover her memories. Sometimes she is a damsel in distress, other times the light that Barovia desperately needs. I never got a response to my criticisms. Perhaps I was out of line? I did not want my comments to come across as backseat DMing. I never interrupted the flow of the session, waiting until afterward to try and communicate my concerns. I felt like my issues were tangible and explainable. I did consider leaving the game if things did not improve. In hindsight, I think that it was the insane fortune pulls that got me to stay.
In the third session, Eternal Cake could play with us, but Cayden could not. Also, we got a new player added to the roster. A paladin named Paul. The party travels down the road until they come across a kidnapping in progress. Several men were tying up a young woman and stuffing her into a burlap sack. We charged in, and the DM puppeted Cayden. Paul was introduced in this fight. He emerged from the bushes and went after the bandits, ready to smite evil and save a damsel. Eternal Cake passed out inspiration like candy and used spells like bless and command. Jormungandr became a big angry boy and smashed his way through the bandits. Olivia got to show off her higher AC from taking a level dip into monk. Blowing everyone’s mind when I explained how these features stacked with wildshape. However, once again this combat brought out the worst in Bantering DM and Jormungandr.
DM: “The bandit disengages and runs over here. Then he fires a crossbow at George-Munger.”
Barb: “Jormungandr.”
DM: “That is what I said, Gorge-Gander.”
Barb: “Say my name right. Jormungandr.”
DM: “Your Muh Ganger.”
Barb: “George is my cat. He is a milk puddle. But I am not George.”
Me: “Can we please keep combat going?”
Barb: “No one asked you.”
Me: “Whatever…”
DM: “Anyway, a 13 misses your AC. Then it is this bandit’s turn. And he kills Jormungandr instantly.”
Barb: “You haven't even rolled yet.”
We manage to win the fight and have one enemy restrained in my entangle spell. During combat, we decided as a group to spare one of the kidnappers so that we could question him. Untying the young woman and pulling her from the sack. Then the girl casts produce flame and murders the bandit. Everyone is miffed, as it felt like the Bantering DM took away our opportunity to gain information. The girl explained that she was a Vistana named Arabella. Asking for us to guide her back to her camp, it is not far from Vallaki. We do so, and I don’t remember much of what happened during this session. I was upset about the bantering and that our group agency was taken away. I disassociated from the conversations but got the gist of it
Like with Ismark and the barkeep, the Vistani people insulted us. They gave the party a cloak of protection as a reward for saving Arabella. The Bantering DM said that we should argue over who gets to wear it. The Vistani name-dropped Strahd and called themselves his allies. Telling us that we may as well give up any hope of escaping. He briefly mentions dusk elves also being in the camp. At one point, the Bantering DM realized I was not contributing to the conversation. So Arrigal asked if Olivia was for sale. I flatly said, “I am free, don’t ever say something like that to me again!” The lines between in and out-of-character blurred. When it was about ten minutes till, I wanted to do something else. I said that I would be interested in speaking with the dusk elves. The Bantering DM said, “They are prisoners and the Vistani told you to not bother them”. I asked if I could make a stealth check. He said, “There are like 300 Vistani in this camp and someone will spot you.” On the one hand, he did not make me roll for something I could not succeed in, but it still felt shitty to be told no it is impossible. We ended the session with a milestone level-up. I did not write the Bantering DM between sessions. I should not have returned for another game.
Fourth session, Eternal Cake is once again missing in action. I had hoped that in this session everyone would be able to play and we could finally all get on the same page. We were also supposed to go into the town of Vallaki. However, once we started walking down the path a dusk elf appeared. She, yes a female dusk elf named Kassy-Mira no less, asked us to go to a haunted fort to find one of her sisters named Savida. My meta-knowledge goes into overload wondering what in the hell did this Bantering DM do. For those of you in the know, I am looking forward to responses and speculations in the comments section. Kassy-Mira explains that Savida is the keeper of their lore and history, an elven leader who must be recovered. I ask a couple of clarifying questions because at this point I have no idea what is going on. The elves are prisoners of the Vistani, yet a leader was able to escape? Why did no one else escape? Where is this fort? If the fort is haunted why would they flee there? Why are the dusk elves prisoners anyway? Did you escape Miss Kassy-Mira? Do the elves want to revolt against the Vistani? But I only got answers that the fort was to the west and that returning their leader was paramount. Then she rushed back to voluntarily go back into dusk elf prison, I guess. So instead of going to Vallaki like I was hoping, I guess we are going to the house of the silver dragon. My only theory is that the Bantering DM wanted us to get started on the questline to retrieve the skull, so he shoe-horned in a way for us to redirect to Argonvostholt. But in doing so he also revealed whatever he did to the dusk elf lore. I’m guessing he reversed the gender of the events before the campaign started. Which makes me wonder, did he gender-bend Rahadin too?
We wander down the road and find the haunted mansion atop the muddy hill. Seeing the statue and for whatever reason we decide to check out the collapsed stables first. The rest of the session was a combat encounter against a dozen giant spiders. Two of the three hours were dedicated to this, mostly because the Bantering DM and Jormungandr took forever to keep the turns moving along. And they were particularly toxic during this combat because Jormungandr hated that his rage did not resist poison. I knew that once the session was over, I’d be writing up my farewell message. Every time it was my turn, I simply stated what actions I took and quickly did it. Elaborating if questioned on my abilities.
DM: "Make a Con save against poison".
Barb: "No, make me."
DM: "Do it bitch."
Barb: "Fine. 21."
DM: "You failed."
Barb: "It says DC 11 for spider DM."
DM: "Yeah, well, fuck you."
Me: “I use multiattack, bite, claw, bonus action unarmed strike. 21 to hit, for 7 piercing damage. 18 to hit, for 15 slashing damage. 24 to hit, for 5 bludgeoning damage.”
Barb: “You can do three attacks? That is bullshit.”
Me: “Brown Bear has multiattack, monk grants martial arts.”
After the fight, we had just enough time to enter the mansion and find Savida. Olivia still had some spell slots, so I tended to her injuries. The Bantering DM said that the party would question her at the start of the next session. Once we ended the call, I wrote up a few things. First I left a message in the general chat thanking the players and wishing them well. I learned from Cayden later on that my farewell message was deleted by the DM. Then I wrote my final criticisms and sent them to the Bantering DM privately, letting him know I would not be returning.

The punchline to this joke of a campaign. A week later, today, Cayden tells me that the Bantering DM canceled the session because neither of his buddies showed up to play. Eternal Flake, Geogreinanger, and the Bantering DM, despite all my complaints I hope they continue to have fun. Maybe next time though, don’t play favorites and charge people for a “fun time in Grandpa’s basement”.

Folding Origami Crane garlands to sell for Pride month, 100% of the price goes to the Trevor Project. Any ideas for fairs or other avenues that would be a good way to display/advertise these?
I decided this year it would be cool to fundraise a bit for this charity, which aims to prevent teen suicide among the LGBTQ community, during pride month. I'm shooting for a full senbazuru (1000) cranes as popularized in Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes, which revolves around the tragic death of a young Japanese girl exposed to nuclear fallout as her sister struggles to fold 1000 in time, which is said to grant a wish to the folder. A senbazuru symbolizes recovery and good fortune, and that is exactly what I'd wish for any young person struggling to understand themselves and feeling like they're out of options. They take a long time to properly (neatly) fold and look nice at the end. I've just finished 500 based and will have 500 more done and ready for june.
Thing is, I'm not really sure where the best place to display them would be. I have at least listed them on Facebook marketplace. I'm not very tapped in to community events, but I would like to try... if I sell just 14 garlands the garlands I have made so far I could raise $420 just off that using my employer matching, which compensates 1:1 any charity donation I make. For complete transparency, I do keep 15 for the materials and labor, the matching program means all 30 still goes to the Trevor Project. Here's some pics, right now I'm shooting for 30 a pop, but still feeling that out, I'd normally aim for like 20 but I want to raise as much as possible. Any suggestions are appreciated! Attached are some photos, I have all sorts of different designs I'm using, it's been really fun! I've been (casually) doing origami for 20+ years, they're pretty clean imo 😊
Obviously if anyone wants me hmu but I'm legit mostly here for advice I swear lol

2024.05.20 19:42 Chanku-kun I'm searching for some good horror movies or short films that go into uncanny territory

Love that uncanny feeling. I also love the feeling of helplessness but not because whatevers happening is so powerful, but because it's unexplainable and weird.
Some movies and short films from the top of my head. (I might keep updating as I dig through the stuff I've watched)
  1. Vivarium
  2. Us
  3. Get out (not sure if it is uncanny but the uneasiness I felt was awesome)
  4. Kairo/Pulse
  5. That one Asian horror movie about an abusive step mother and innocent sister but it's actually the older sister going nuts
  6. The Box (I think is the name. Of the short film. I looooved the first time we see the weird man in the box. So weird and creepy)
  7. The chair (short film)
Not sure if this is "uncanny" territory but I do like this type of stuff as well
  1. Curve (short film) - ignoring the symbolism and deeper meanings, I loved how the whole situation the character finds herself in is so foreign and unexplainable.

2024.05.20 19:20 Bjorn-Kuul Bindrune for family

Bindrune for family
I’m VERY novice at this but I plan on getting a tattoo with my family at some point (mainly mother and sister) and wanted to make a bindrune to symbolize our love for one another and relationship. Firstly do I have the meanings and the kinda “reverse” thing correct? Even if not that one could still work I think. Next do these look natural or readable? And lastly am I even “binding” them correctly? It is a tattoo so part of it is it does need to kinda look cool to all parties but just wanted some advice.

2024.05.20 18:05 G0TH1C_IDIOT My religious dad is going batshit crazy and doesn't realize it

Sorry for the long post, there is a lot on my chest, and I don't want to tell too many of my friends about this. For context, I (17F) actually live with my mother, but I visit my dad (39M), stepmom (39F), and half-sister (12F) frequently since I only live fifteen minutes away. After struggling with a meth addiction for two years and having an incredibly rough marriage to my stepmom for almost four years now, my dad has decided to repent and convert to Pentecostal Christianity, and my sister and stepmom have been going to church with him, along with some extended family members as well. I only go occasionally to support them, but I am agnostic and would prefer to stay that way for my own reasons.
This conversion was surprising to me since my dad has always been a skeptic, but I thought that it has done him some good, such as helping him become more outgoing and make new friends. But subsequently, he's also changing a lot of things about himself, sometimes for the worse.
But the actual final straw was yesterday. After church, my dad claimed that Jesus spoke to him and has advised him to go on a three day trip with no food or water to the wilderness and get baptized on the final day in a spring. It's an interesting thought, really, but it's a lot more than he can realistically handle. For those that do not follow the Bible, there was a point where Jesus survived in the woods for forty days with no food or water, and then he got baptized. My dad seems to be inspired by this, but he knows he will not last forty days and is instead doing three. He left yesterday with very short notice, and he's done a piss poor job of planning this whole thing, claiming that it has to be done now since the devil is urging him to keep putting it off.
I want to be supportive, but I'm worried and outraged all at the same time. The campsite is two and a half hours away, and my dad has half a tank of gas. His car has been notorious for breaking down in the past as well. Also, he and my stepmom have hardly any food or money at home. He's going to miss my sister's sixth grade graduation tomorrow, which is a big deal to her. If that isn't bad enough, he was actually sick with allergy-like symptoms before he left and was nearly bed bound Saturday. The spring he wants to get baptized in is freezing cold (we've been there before years ago, and it's unbearably gelid unless it's 90-something degrees outside). I think that while malnourished, he's going to make himself extremely sick dipping in this spring.
I don't understand why he can't get baptized in a church like a normal person would, and that's not a diss on Christians at all. My stepmom, my sister, and our extended family members and friends have gotten baptized in a church. Hell, when my mother and I were Baptists, we were baptized in our old church, and so was everyone else. I've never heard of anyone trying to go on this trip like Jesus did. But my dad essentially thinks that this is the only way he can actually clear himself completely of sin. He isn't saying this in his own words, but it's almost as if getting baptized in the church isn't good enough for him, and in my opinion that's blasphemous in itself. He's told this elderly couple from church about it and wants them to come on Wednesday to baptize him, as the man used to be a pastor himself.
And when he comes home, he wants to get rid of everything in the apartment that he deems sinful. I understand giving up the cigarettes and medicinal marijuana, but he also wants my stepmom to get rid of her only jackets because they have astrological patterns and symbols on them that "look Satanic". Except he won't get rid of our game consoles, so he's basically picking and choosing what parts of the Bible to follow while judging people who are doing the same thing. He wants to get rid of all of his hard rock and heavy metal CDs because apparently certain kinds of music are of the devil as well. He wants to get rid of all of the band merch and horror merch that he used to love because it's all gateways to sin.
I don't think this trip is going to actually change anything about him for the better. He's still going to have the same misogynistic views against women, he's going to still think that other religions aren't valid, he's going to still be emotionally and financially abusive to his wife, he's going to continue to constantly deflect blame during arguments, etc. To me this all sounds like symptoms of mental illness, and obviously I can't talk to him about this either because he's not going to have any phone service. And he left almost abruptly, so I didn't have time to express my thoughts on this, other than that I hope he finds what he's looking for and that he comes back safe. And honestly I don't even know how much my sister knows about this trip since she's been at a sleepover, but I'm going to feel awful about telling her that he's going to miss her sixth grade graduation that she was so excited to tell me and my best friend about.

2024.05.20 17:56 chaos_knight_xy Boruto Boudicans ch. 37 part 1

Boruto Boudicans ch. 37 part 1
https://preview.redd.it/n2lryiohsl1d1.png?width=931&format=png&auto=webp&s=c4160079e3030515ad98d194ac0f14d42ea06e94
Graham wore sturdy nomad boots to go to the top of the mountain.
There was a tower on top of the mountain, the mountain right next to a Bodeland.
John Graham had climbed that mountain to go to that a tower to learn from what the Bodeland populace called "The Wizard."
Well, wizard is probably an adjective at most, he was actually a hermit monk, that the Cardinal at the Bodeland Abbey has appointed to receive mailed messages from the Papal states.
Graham went up to the hermit monk to learn texts to help him master air, one of the four classical elements of Empedocles.
Air is the most common element of magic for Boudican use, it helps them swing weapons better and move faster, basic wants of any man.
Graham had to read and practice in order to effectively get a grasp of a bit of the element, air, and each time you improve there is always room for growth.
Graham had heard rumors that there are Boudican earls, barons, lords, and knights who could create tornadoes at will.
But for now, he would contemplate that later, he had to meet his old friend, John Stewart, in the forest.
After studying the texts on air, Graham rendezvoused with Stewart.
Graham found Stewart in the forest practicing with his sword swings.
When Stewart saw Graham coming.
"Heh, so it that's time." Said Stewart. "Don't worry, I'll protect.."
Graham interrupts him.
"If you try anything funny, I will cut off your head." Said Graham. "You are acting all different now, you used to be quite and bookish, and now you enjoy insulting Ehou norimaki by saying his head looks like a cupcake."
"First off, in this land, it is called trolling." Replied Stewart. "Second, after surviving battle as a Boudican squire, my social anxiety is now gone, I feal good about myself now, after all we are praised heroes by the entire village."
"Don't let it get to your head." Said Graham. "Remember humility is a virtue."
"Sigh." replied Stewart. "Now, I believe I have a guard mission to get to."
"Well, it is not just my sister, but her friends as well." Said Graham.
"What, no fair." Protested Stewart. "You said, you would-."
"I never said alone." Said Graham, with the biggest grin.
"You little rascal." Said Stewart, with a pouty face.
"What are old friends for." Said Graham. "Well, good luck, I am going to walk around and explore Bodeland."
Meanwhile at the Norimaki household:
The alarm on Hana's clock went off.
Hana yawned; she then felt the side of her large bed.
She clenched it for a solid second, then she got up, washed, then got dressed.
She smelt a pleasant smell, from the kitchen.
"What is cooking?" she wondered.
She went into the kitchen and found her son Ehou cooking.
She was surprised, he had cooked a breakfast for both of them.
He had cooked pancakes, eggs, and bacon, along with toast.
She had never taught him to cook, at least not a breakfast like this.
"Ehou." She said, with a look of surprise and worry on her face.
https://preview.redd.it/9wtg258lsl1d1.png?width=599&format=png&auto=webp&s=9ee833591bebfc3d74e796c7d716915ae4635c5d
"Morning Mom." Said Ehou, roasting a few more pieces of bacon.
"Why are you up so early?" asked Hana. "You used to sleep in on non-school days."
"Well, to cook breakfast!" replied Ehou. "Don't worry, I used a cookbook."
He then looked at the clock.
"Is this because of your nightmares?" asked Hana. "I heard you went to the doctors on your own without my permission- and..."
"Don't worry, I just bought sleeping pills." Replied Ehou. "Don't worry, I checked the labels, nothing bad will happen."
Ehou then looked at the clock.
"Oh, sorry Mom, I have to go." Said Ehou. "Training."
Ehou put a pancake in his mouth and held a toast with an egg and bacon on top.
"Wait, Ehou." Said Hana.
"Yah, Mom." Mumbled Ehou, munching a pancake.
Hana looked worried, she knew something may be wrong, but she didn't know.
"Um, Ehou." She spoke.
"Yah." Replied Ehou, again.
Hana gave a weak smile.
"Be-be safe." She spoke.
"Alright, see you later, Mom." Said Ehou.
Hana sat down and ate slowly, she remembered how when Ehou was much younger, he was easier to read.
"He is grown, he is not a baby anymore." Hana thought to herself.
Hana took another bite.
"Oh, this is good." She thought. She then frowned. "But he is growing up too fast though, half or more of me, misses when he was baby, and with..."
Hana eyed her bedroom, looking at the other half of her bed, she felt that morning.
Hana stopped thinking.
She realized she just wasted time thinking.
She then cleaned up and got ready for work.
Before opening the door.
She eyed her bed, again, she then closed her eyes, took a deep breath.
Then opened the door and left.
Meanwhile, Ehou had regrouped with William.
"Ok, Ehou, today we will go north." Said William.
"North!?" replied Ehou with huge surprise.
William smirked.
"Time to meet our master, a knight of Boudica, Lord Macduff." Said William.
Ehou's eyes lit up.
"Wait, really?" asked Ehou in excitement.
"I don't ever lie, Ehou." Said William.
Ehou punched his fist in the air.
"Ok, then what are waiting for, let's go!" said Ehou.
After a couple minutes, they were riding on the horses, well outside the Leaf, going north.
"So, if I remember correctly, Macduff's been busy because of a honeymoon?" said Ehou.
"Maybe, I don't know, perhaps he wanted to have quite life with his wife." Said William. "At least for a little while."
They rode for a couple of minutes.
"You know what I wondered; it is common knowledge that I have squire partner?" said William. "But I am even more surprised that your mother does not ask me about you, or anything."
Ehou paused for a second.
"I just tell my mother, I am just training with you, because we will be on the same ninja team eventually." Said Ehou. "Whether she knows I'm a squire or not, she has never really brought it up, so..."
"I think she realizes it will look suspicious if she tells you the "Evils" or whatever of a Boudican." Replied William.
"Huh, you may be right?" said Ehou. "She probably really wishes to not tell me of what my father was truly like."
Ehou had a frown upon his face.
"If you want to at least try to find out about your father, without asking." Said William. "Pay attention, the devil is in the details."
Ehou put his chin in his hand on thought for a second.
"Devil in the details." Said Ehou to himself.
"If you're lucky, you could find a clue to your father." Said William. "Most preferably a symbol of a Boudican clan, a surcoat."
Ehou looked up.
"A surcoat." Muttered Ehou. "If it's a chicken, I'd prefer to stay as I am now."
"What's so wrong about a chicken?" asked William.
Ehou was dumbfounded.
"You serious?" said Ehou in disbelief.
"I mean a chicken is many things, but a coward, no.," said William. "Chickens represent courage, community, and nurturing, as well as versatility, resourcefulness, and hard work, at least in Boudica."
"But a chicken looks stupid as a coat of arms." Replied Ehou.
"I dunno, I've seen Gorman coat of arms with chickens, and they look interesting." Responded William. "Hey, I'm not lying."
Ehou gave a pouty face.
Both boys continue to talk about chickens on their trip.
While all this happened, all the way in the City of Fire, the Daimyo was facing a conundrum.
He called in his chief advisor, John Balliol, about a problem that concerns both parties.
"My lord." Protested John Balliol. "All couples go through disagreements time and time, not every healthy relationship is without it's issues or flaws."
"But it's been months, and they haven't talked with each other." responded the Daimyo.
"Has your daughter requested to cancel the wedding or engagement, or at least thought about it?" asked Balliol.
Daimyo eye lit up at the question.
"Well, no, she just seams mad whenever I bring up Comyn." Said the Daimyo. "Although now that you asked that question, it is weird that if she truly hated him, she would request to cancel the betrothal."
"Exactly, my lord, it is merely a couple's quarrel." Replied Comyn.
"But still, I am the Daimyo, and a father as well." Said the Daimyo. "And I feal their quarrels need to end, they may be adults, but they will always be just children to us."
John Balliol raised an eyebrow.
"What do you suggest my lord?" asked Balliol.
Daimyo then told Balliol what he had in mind.
Meanwhile Tento decided to visit John Comyn.
Comyn's workplace was a lot busier than usual.
It was very crowded; there was a chance he was not in his office.
Perhaps he purposefully made himself busy to not deal with Tento's sister.
"Excuse me?" asked Tento to a guard. "Do you know where Mr. Comyn is?"
The guard wore leather, along with a steal cap, it was clear he was a Boudican.
He turned toward Tento.
The guard responded in a Boudican accent.
"He is in his office, young lord." He responded.
Tento went to Comyn's office.
He heard that John Comyn was talking with another Boudican.
"James Taylor, as I said, I don't think it will be good for her." Said Comyn. "I don't think she should be at the Summer tide festival."
"Oh, come on, my lord." Said James Taylor. "I am the humble young mayor of Bodeland, my newlywed wife as well as the people won't mind, even if she is a heretic, your marriage to her is for the common good, so Boudicans have a place here in the Land of Fire, plus we really want to see what she looks like. We will speak Shinobi if it suits her."
"Well, she has studied some Latin, although I'm not sure how proficient she is?" said John Comyn. "But that is not the main issue, the thing is, we are-."
Tento knocked.
"Come in?" said Comyn, who sounded like he did not wish to discuss any more of what he was discussing.
Tento opened the door.
"It's me?" said Tento.
"Tento, what can I do for you?" asked Comyn. "This is the mayor of Bodeland."
"Pray excuse me, young lord of Fire." Said the Mayor of Bodeland, who then glanced at Comyn. "If you ever change your mind about it, Lord Comyn, we will welcome you and her with open arms."
The mayor then left.
John Comyn had grown a black beard and was wearing his Boudican armor.
To Tento, Comyn's black beard was unnerving.
"I don't like your beard." Said Tento. "It makes you look-like let's say, a bad guy."
Comyn smirked, amused at the comment.
"Ok, I am the bad guy, but anyway why you have come?" asked Comyn.
Tento handed Comyn one of the knight toys.
Tento had an ashamed facial expression.
"I wanted to say." Said Tento, looking down at his feet. "I'm sorry I caused a rift between Asami and you, my father explained the reasons why. I couldn't be a knight and Daimyo at the same time."
Comyn put his fist under his chin.
"Huh, so the Daimyo, has taken my side, eh?" said Comyn.
Comyn picked up the toy and handed it back to Tento.
"This is yours?" said Comyn, smiling weakly. "Whatever happens between me, and your sister is between us, so no need to burden yourself."
At once a servant maid interrupted them.
"Lord Comyn, Princess Asami requests your presence." Said the servant.
Comyn got up from his seat.
"I will be right there." Said Comyn. "Well, I must be off, see yah Tento."
As Comyn was about to leave, Tento hugged him.
"Thanks, Comyn, you'll basically be a brother to me, once you and Asami get married." Said Tento. "And you are being one, right now."
Tento went to the door and left.
John Comyn dropped his expression, so his face became one of annoyance.
He left his workshop.
Meanwhile, the Daimyo and Balliol hid to watch from afar, the bench that Asami sat on.
"Are you sure, we should spy, my lord?" asked Balliol.
"It is best we keep an eye of them, in case things go south." Said the Daimyo. "If they do, I will step in and force them to make up personally."
"Pardon me, my lord." Said Balliol. "I may be wrong; but didn't you tell me that it was Asami that is the most to blame with their feud."
"True, I think she may have overreacted, in Tento's defense." Said the Daimyo. "But still, as for your nephew, he didn't need to act rude and stubborn to Asami about why Tento shouldn't be a knight."
"Your too kind, my lord." said Balliol. "Comyn is awful with children, but you told me yourself that you wouldn't want Tento to be a knight, for you do not wish for your heir to swear loyalty to a foreign enterprise."
"Fair point." Replied the Daimyo. "Shush, here comes Comyn."
John Comyn finally came; he walked up to the bench where Asami was sitting.
Asami looked at him,
"So, you finally came?" she said.
"Well, yes." Replied Comyn.
"I'm ignoring you." Said Asami having her eyes look opposite of him.
Comyn sighed, then sat next to her, silent.
She still ignored him.
The Daimyo sighed as well.
"Aw Crap." He spoke.
https://preview.redd.it/47zryzfusl1d1.png?width=780&format=png&auto=webp&s=54ab736a59ed91528ce15bb6fd6e2d9cc96b000f
Both Asami and John were quiet, much to the annoyance of the Daimyo.
Finally, Comyn spoke.
"Leading him on, would be cruel." Said Comyn.
Asami's face tightened.
"I only speak truth." Said Comyn. "However you are right, I probably should have been more polite to Tento."
"My father and your uncle had told to say that." Said Asami, with a somber.
"Well...," said John Comyn.
Asami eyes started too teary.
"I never saw Tento cry, since-since." Said Asami.
She then sobbed.
Balliol was shocked.
"My lord, would you like my nephew's head on a stake, for making the princess cry?" asked Balliol.
"Oh, heavens no, where in the world would you get that idea?" Asked the Daimyo. "This is what I mean on why my daughter needs a man who listens."
Asami continued to cry.
Comyn then put his arm on Asami's back, in hopes of comforting her.
Asami broke free angerly.
"You know I hate the touching of your armor." She yelled.
Comyn was shocked.
"Idiot." Said Asami. "Wear the comfortable clothes, I got you."
Asami then put her hands on her head and pulled her bright red hair.
"Maybe I'm just being crazy." Said Asami. "Tento has never cried that hard, he only has when our mother passed."
"Now I see why your never remarried, despite the use of extra heirs." Said Balliol. "Am I right my lord, did you not wish to harm your children with a replacement?"
"Well, no, Tento, and Asami's mother, my wife, was a beautiful, graceful and talented woman." Said the Daimyo. "I loved her too much, she was irreplaceable, Asami is her spitting image."
John Comyn stepped up.
"Why are you telling me all this?" asked Comyn.
Asami was visibly surprised.
"Forgive me, I didn't mean to.." said Comyn. "But my lady, don't cry."
Comyn put his hand on her cheek to wipe away dripping tears.
"You don't know what it is like." Said Asami. "I was hurt when my mother died, and then when I saw my brother, Tento, I realized he would be hurting a lot more than I ever was, he won't remember our mother as well as I would. So, I vowed to make sure he never cries like that again."
"Trust me." Replied John Comyn. "I know pain all too well."
John Comyn turned away from Asami and looked over the balcony.
"Perhaps, we have spent a little too much time cooped up in this city." Said Comyn, optimistically. "Asami, how much Latin have you studied."
Asami was even more surprised.
"Well, yes, I haven't practiced in a while but," said Asami.
"Then I will you like to go to the Summertide festival near Bodeland, you will meet splendid Boudican commonfolk." Said John Comyn. "My people, quite friendly to me, and even if you butcher their language, I'm sure they will still be courteous."
"Bodeland?" said Asami with surprise. "A settlement of your people, more Boudicans?"
"This day, the mayor of Bodeland has invited the both of us to honor the people with our presence." Said Comyn. "He would be overjoyed to meet you, my fiancé, but at the end of the day, the choice is yours, do wish to attend?"
Asami gave a shy smile.
"Well, um yes, I would like to go." Said Asami. "With you, of course."
Comyn smiled like a mischievous villain.
"Then we must be off." Said Comyn, dragging Asami by the hand, so they both hurled along.
The Daimyo smiled at Balliol.
"It worked." Told the Daimyo to Balliol.
"That it did, my lord." Replied Balliol.

Feast of Mary, Mother of the Church
John 19:25-34
Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. Seeing his mother and the disciple he loved standing near her, Jesus said to his mother, ‘Woman, this is your son.’ Then to the disciple he said, ‘This is your mother.’ And from that moment the disciple made a place for her in his home.
After this, Jesus knew that everything had now been completed, and to fulfil the scripture perfectly he said, ‘I am thirsty.’
A jar full of vinegar stood there, so putting a sponge soaked in the vinegar on a hyssop stick they held it up to his mouth. After Jesus had taken the vinegar he said, ‘It is accomplished’; and bowing his head he gave up his spirit.
It was Preparation Day, and to prevent the bodies remaining on the cross during the sabbath – since that sabbath was a day of special solemnity – the Jews asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken away. Consequently the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with him and then of the other. When they came to Jesus, they found he was already dead, and so instead of breaking his legs one of the soldiers pierced his side with a lance; and immediately there came out blood and water.
Reflection on the painting
Today is the Feast day of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church. This feast was established in 2018 by Pope Francis, to be celebrated every year on the Monday following Pentecost. Although the feast day is relatively new, devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, under the title of ‘Mother of the Church’, is very ancient. When he created the feast, Pope Francis said he wished to “encourage the growth of the maternal sense of the Church in the pastors, religious and faithful”.
This maternal sense is beautifully portrayed in our painted panel by Sandro Botticelli. Mary gently gazes on her son. As a symbol of his future Passion, the Christ child is holding the three nails of the Cross and the crown of thorns. The right hands of Jesus and his mother are placed on a book. Some words are visible, revealing that this is a Book of Hours, the Horae Beatae Mariae Virginis. The presence of the book also symbolises Mary's role as the Mother of Wisdom. The left sleeve of Our Lady’s blue cloak has small embroidered flames emanating from a small burst of light, the Holy Spirit (whom we celebrated yesterday). The vellum pages of the book, the bowl of fruit and the transparent veil of Our Lady have a powerfully tangible quality to them.
The elegant and intimate painting depicts delicately how Mary is the foremost example of what it means to fully say 'yes' to God. Our new feast day is an invitation for each of us to receive more from Mary's example of holiness and to give the same resounding 'yes' to all that God asks of us. As the Church's mother, Mary continues to accompany and nurture us, offering us comfort, protection, and intercession with her Son.

BSD THEORY: Mori, Elise, and Yosano parallels with Alice Liddle and Lewis Carroll (Charles Dodgson) from Alice in Wonderland

I was reading the history of the creation behind the famous children's book Alice in Wonderland, and I noticed a lot of similarities between the creation of Alice and Elise.
We all know BSD characters are based on real authors. The Real Mori Ogai's book Vita Sexualis which is a personal biography doesn't seem to mention him being attracted to inappropriately younger girls. In fact, it seems to be the other way around with older queer guys at his boarding school trying to seduce him and making him uncomfortable (this is just based on a summary I read. This is ironic being that his daughter would go on to be a writer that basically pioneered the Yaoi genre.) So I always just assumed the weird pedo thing was an original touch the author of BSD added to his corrupt character.
But then I learned about the author Lewis Carroll whose real name is Charles Dodgson and Alice Liddle who served as the "muse" for Alice in Wonderland, and dots started to connect in my head. First of all, it's widely believed by everyone including historians and even the descendants of Alice that Dodgson was a pedo, but didn't act on it due to religious repression. He had an odd amount of friends 12 and under which any normal adult wouldn't have cause kids are kinda annoying. However, he specifically stated he was fond of children but Not Boys which raises eyebrows based on his behaviour. His favourite little girls were the Liddle sisters Lorina, Edith, and Alice. This reminds me of Mori's haunting line "I only like my women under 12" and the fact that he treats his male child victims like young Dazai and Yumeno differently than young Yosano & Elise.
Dodgson took nudes of Lorina Liddle and semi-nude photos of Alice with different outfits and costumes. Photography was Dodgson's hobby and little girls was his favourite subject. This is similar to how Mori's favourite hobby is playing disturbing dress-up games with Elise. In Victorian England, it was apparently more normal to share those photos of your children with family as a symbol of their innocent nature, but Dodgson's photos crossed a line even for that era. I'm talking shit that will get him put in jail today. There's also a crazy photo of him and a 5-6 year old Alice Liddle **kissing on the lips!!! A MINORRRRRRRRRRRRRR🚔🚨 🚔🚨 🚔 ** Hell naw bro, you're going to cell block 1.
“My understanding is that he was in love with Alice, but he was so repressed that he never would have transgressed any boundaries,” says Vanessa Tait, great-granddaughter of Alice Liddell.
The reason Dodgson seemed to be deeply obsessed with Alice compared to other little girls is because she had a very bossy, strong-willed, and precocious personality. This is similar to how Mori swoons over 11 year old Yosano over her head-strong personality. Yosano and Alice even look similar being brunettes with a bob cut. When Mori meet's Yosano she's 11 but when Alice meets Dodgson, she's 5. However, when Dodgson wrote Alice's Adventures Underground which was the first manuscript of Alice in Wonderland, Alice Liddle was 10 years old which is similar to Elise.
Speaking of Elise, we know Mori's ability reflects his sexual desire because Elise used to be just a robotic subservient puppet with an adult form, and not to mention the obvious, his power is called vita sexualis. But after Mori fell in love with the rebellious attitude of a little girl, Elise aged backwards and got a personality update copying Yosano. This is like how Dodgson who was a quiet, logical mathematician managed to make a little girl with a personality we all enjoyed as kids because he was inspired by a real child. Furthermore, The Fictional Alice and Elise (who is technically a fictional little girl brought to life by Mori's power) both have a similar aesthetic change from the little girls they were originally based on. Liddle and Yosano are both brunettes with bobs and Alice and Elise are both blondes with long wavey hair.
Dodgson used photos and stories to immortalize Alice's childhood self because it's speculated that his book sequel Through the Looking Glass is his painful "goodbye love letter" to child Alice and he apparently had a hard time letting her go. Real Alice Liddle at the time was going into her late teens and was jaded from hard life experiences that came with growing up. This makes me think about how Elise never ages past 9-11, because Mori wants her to stay a child and never grow up like some Peter Pan shit.
I've never actually been able to find any other posts supporting my theory or any proof that the author took inspiration from the backstory of Alice in Wonderland. But after I learned the history, my ADHD brain couldn't get this theory out of my head so I had to write it down and share it. What do you guys think? Am I spot on with my dot connecting or nah?
But that's just a theory! AN ANIME THEORY!!!!
