Doc martin series 5

Last year was a record year for me (not including my childhood reading because I didn't track my reading back then unless it was for the pizza hut program) and I read 25 books. This year I wanted to challenge myself by reading double that (50 books)
As of last night I have read 42 books, and we haven't even finished May yet. To celebrate, I thought it would be fun to share my current stats (tracked by The Storygraph and a spreadsheet I use).

• 32/42 books (76%) were loaned either from the library or a borrowing service like Kindle Unlimited and 10 books (24%) were books I owned
• My average rating so far this year is 4.62 stars
  • 33 books were rated 5 stars
• I DNFed 6 books (these did not count towards my 42 books)
• 9 books (22%) were read for one of the book clubs I'm in (either as a BOTM or a BR)
• February is currently my busiest reading month with 15 books during that month, and April is my lowest month so far with 4 books (I blame finals season for the massive dip that month).
• My most read author this year is Jennifer L Armentrout (5 books)
• About half (52%) of my books were between 350 and 499 pages in length. My longest book was 645 pages (The Crown of Gilded Bones by Jennifer L Armentrout) and my shortest book was 17 pages (novella with bonus content for the Blood and Ash series)
• The most common genre was Fantasy (34 books/80%)
• 17 books (40%) were ebooks, 16 books (38%) were audiobooks, and 9 books (21%) were print books
• A "new-to-me" author I fell in love with this year (April) was T Kingfisher, and I have read 2 books by her so far (I have more on my TBR for later this year)

I'm really glad I decided to challenge myself this year, and I've been having a lot of fun with the books I've been reading. A quick note about my average rating: I do not rate books I DNF, so my average rating is not impacted by those. I am pretty picky with books I choose to read, so most books I read end up in the 4-5 star range since I know what I like.

Is Linux used in the Acer nitro series? I'm curious about this and want to use it.

27M. Hi, I have 2 girl- friends, who are kinda family friends, we don't talk or see each other a lot, but it's fun when we do.
One is 8 years younger than me (but she's more mature for her age), while the other 5 years younger. I met the younger one first, and we were kinda friends first, and I thought she was interested in me, and so am I in her.
Few months later, I met her older sister, whom I find there's even better match between me and her because of age. She talked to me more than her sister, so I thought she's interested too and I am more interested in her than the younger sister.
The problem is the younger one I see more often around at family events and stuff, because she studies here. The older one studies in nearby country 2hr flight away (has just 1 year left) so I don't see her as much, so I can't really ask her out. Next time she'll visit home is in a few months.
So, what do you suggest I do in this case? I'd rather go out with the older sister first (I wouldn't call it a date, just a hangout for drinks) and if I notice interest I'll ask her out, but problem is she's not here to be asked out. The younger sister is here, but I am less interested in her. If they were NOT sisters, I would've probably gone out with them in parallel to see which one I vibe better with, but I feel like I have to do this in series and I'd prefer to go out with the older sister first.

I'm a huge fan of bcachefs and can't wait to switch to it from zfs. I'm waiting on, and confused whether bcachefs currently supports raid 5/6 (called Erasure Coding??) I've tried googling it dozens of times, and some docs appear indicate it is fully in place and is "comparable to zfs", and others say it is still being worked on.
Also - are replicas the same thing as the raid 5/6 that I currently have with zfs?

I've posted about this book series once before but I'm trying again.
There were approximately 5-6 teenage friends, pretty sure in the USA, high school age, more than 3 books, all learning lessons and having ordinary teen dramas, I'm not sure when the book was set but it's in a time when school dances already exist but getting married really young just because you're pregnant hasn't fallen out of fashion (due to cultural differences I don't know when this might be). There must be a 100 books like it. I got the set for free at a car boot sale in the UK in about 2005 and they looked pretty battered, some sort of bright cartoonish drawings of the characters on the front.
The main characteit girl of the group I can't remember her name, but she has a best friend who I'm almost certain is called Cathy. There at least two other central characters, they are in true love. Somone is call Mark, it's either the happy-couple male or Cathy's crush or another friend.
The it girl likes a hot boy, and eventually they do get together, I think his name might be Johny. Johny is a bit of a bad boy, an eventually this becomes uncool for his it girl gf because turns out she can't hang out EVERY DAY and she wants to get some homework done. It's part of a 'standing up for yourself' and not letting other people define who you are kind of arc, neither of them is bad their relationship just isn't perfect or long lasting just because they're 16 and hot.
Cathy has a crush, I can't remember who he is but they don't get together. She has a whole arc about being a push over. Cathy eventually shaves her head to prove she's super bad ass and doesn't need any of their approval, everyone is super impressed. There's this whole elaborate scene where her best friend adorns her with scarves and sparkley jewellery to femme up her bad ass look for the school dance and everyone agrees it goes well.
The happy couple pair have some complex stuff going on, then in the final book the young woman is pregnant and they end up getting married and moving into one of the parent's houses in a modified apartment, and it's seen as an amazing solution. I'm not certain if they get married in secret before the parents find out.
Oh god what else can I add, I really don't know. Fingers crossed.

Finally! A series sweep! This SEC Standings flip with Ole Miss may have just punched our ticket to the SEC Tourney - which means more Tigers Baseball!!!
ABSOLUTELY IMPRESSED with Holman this series. I don't know where he managed to find another 2mph on his FB, but it was on fire! And nothing but great things to say about Milam - his defense continues to impress!
Our persistent challenge area is a Game 3 starter - our bench managed to keep Ole Miss in check, but I'm not sure how much longer we can continue to work in 3-4-5 pitchers on the 3rd day.
So excited to see Travinski get some his this series. There are slumps...and there are 2-for-20-something slumps. You know he was frustrated, but his XBH against Ole Miss may have just got him back into it.

Feeling sloggy less energetic sometimes my eyes hurts. I am 16(M) and went to a doctor few weeks ago and doc prescribed me medicines like Ferrous Ascorbate,Folic acid and zinc tablets. And other medicine was albandazole tablets. Does these medicines have side effects which leads to my problems. I have pure OCD because of which i am doing mental compulsions a lot maybe because of that i am having problems. I went to a trip where i was not getting enough sleep, but even now when i am trying to have good night sleep,the problem of waking up at night usually between 3 to 5 morning is becoming a problem. I used to have a problem where it was difficult for me to absorb concepts in classrooms i dont know how to explain but its like i can understand the concepts but its hard for me to remember and its hard to focus but when at home i simply watched online lectures just once and most of the concepts were easily being registered in my mind and infact i could even actively think of the concepts in more detailed manner. But now its also hard to even focus at online leactures, i quickly get tired. What is it? I have a lot of academic work to finish and the load is just increasing.

TWoW, Victarion I has been read in its (at least close to) full form by GRRM before, but unfortunately we only have a transcript of the first part of the chapter. There have been numerous attempts to gather information on the later part of the chapter, with u/BryndenBFish (who has since deleted his socials) going as far as to post about the "Victarion Fragment" and then about a year ago I gathered as much information as I could on the second part of the chapter here: Revisiting the Victarion Fragment. While perusing some old SSMs I found a small detail about the second part of the chapter that wasn't included and I haven't really seen mentioned elsewhere that I just wanted to share.
Note: As with any of the "released" TWoW chapter information, this stuff is decades old and subject to change.
The Rowing to Meereen
While we know from other released chapters that they arrive in Slaver's Bay and attack the Slavers, we (or at least I) did not know that GRRM mentioned the drums booming while rowing and I found this little detail interesting:

I want “total immersion” for readers. For example, I read the Victarion preview chapter at last night’s banquet and when I write about the sound of drums to help the rowers keep time, I want you to feel it. “Boom BOOM Boom Boom” (he hits his hand on the table for emphasis). Other "Confirmed" (LOL) Facts About This Second Part
According to GRRM this chapter takes place 5 minutes after the end of ADWD and we find out that:

• After he shows the horn to the three deckhands, the dusky woman bleeds his wounded hand/arm into a bowl. Then Victarion takes that blood and rubs it into the horn and murmurs to it softly "My horn...dragons..."
• Then he fingerbangs the dusky woman. No sex. He says he doesn't like to bust a nut before battle (my phrasing).
• The dusky woman helps him put his armor on, he gives a rousing speech to the crew and they set sail towards Meereen.

TLDR: At a Con in 2014 mentioned the drums booming to help the rowers keep time during the Ironborn's trip to Meereen in the second untranscribed section of TWOW, Victarion I. He also mentions how he wants readers to "feel it". With a dragonhorn about to be blown in the same area, I thought it was interesting.
