I'm on 5 mg and am only one week into taking the medication. I noticed it is causing sleep maintenance insomnia (middle of the night insomnia).
I take the pill at 7 AM.
I was hoping for the drug to correct my sleep issues. When does the maintenance insomnia caused by lexapro subside?
I'm on the medication to actually curb my sleep anxiety as well as generalized anxiety. Does this effect eventually kick in and last all day and night? I just need to feel calm,especially overnight.

I started on Zepbound about two months ago and I’ve titrated up each month and will be starting 7.5 mg this weekend. I’m over 200 lbs and have only lost about 5 pounds since starting.
I definitely had higher hopes of losing more weight but I seem to be losing at a very slow rate even though I am eating more than 50% less than what I was Pre-Zep. I don’t have food noise, slight food aversion, very minimal side effects.
I’m hoping things kick into gear on the 7.5mg but if you’re one of those people that is feeling like “it” might not happen for you, you’re not alone! Happy journeys ✨

2024.05.21 22:51 ladygreypgh Dr doesn’t think statin is the cause of high fasting glucose

F38, 140lbs. Diagnosed with high cholesterol in my 20s and was on simvastatin for several years until another Dr took me off. Main issue was high triglycerides and LDL. I have a family history of high cholesterol in my father’s side.
Fast forward to today I’ve been on lipitor 10 mg for about six months. My LDL and total cholesterol went down but triglycerides went up as did my fasting glucose (109), which has never been high. My A1c is ok though. I asked my dr if Lipitor could cause this spike in glucose but she doesn’t think it’s to blame. How can I tell if it is or isn’t? Are there other tests to run, or should I switch to another medicine? I have no family history of diabetes but i am being treated for hypothyroidism ( levels ok). no major weight gain, and i work out 3-5 days per week.

2024.05.21 22:45 xgirlmama Updated bloodwork after heart disease diagnosis

Background - cholesterol has been high for three years. Three years ago I had a CAC of 0 and no plaque in my carotid artery, so I just changed my diet a bit, added an OTC statin (red yeast rice) and went on my way. Doc said to just do a repeat CAC/carotid ultrasound every three years and go from there. Well, at the beginning of last month I got bad news - I now officially have heart disease (CAC = 33 + plaque in L carotid artery). For reference I'm 49f, 5'6", was 120lbs, work out 5 days a week, don't smoke, rarely eat red meat, rarely drink, limited cheese, you name it, but it wasn't perfect (hello half and half!). I went on Crestor 40mg the day I got my CAC results on April 4th. I also found out that I have high lipoprotein(a) (109), knowledge I wish I had sooner so that I could have gone straight to a statin years ago. I have since seen a cardiologist, who ran an echo and stress test and everything was normal there (aside from the plaque).
Bloodwork, March of 2023:
Total cholesterol: 253 (under 200 is normal)
Triglycerides: 97 (under 150 is normal) - only thing that was normal last year
LDL (bad) cholesterol: 174 (under 100 is normal)
HDL (good) cholesterol: 57 (above 50 is normal)
Non-HDL cholesterol: 196 (under 130 is normal)
Since then I've kept daily saturated fat to under 10g/day, eat oatmeal every single day, eat more plants, no beef, no cheese/buttecream/egg yolks, switched to oat milk in coffee, all meat is lean, eating tons of fiber (at least 35g, but some days it's over 50), added avocados/flax/chia seeds to my diet - you name it, and I'll do it. I've also dropped a couple pounds, which the vain part of my brain likes too.
Now:
Total: 139
Triglycerides: 71
LDL: 72
HDL: 52
Non-HDL: 87
ApoB: 75 (didn't have a previous value for this) - optimal is under 90
I'm so relieved, but was secretly hoping my LDL would be at or below 50. My doctor called me about an hour after the results were emailed to me, and it was his idea to add Zetia/Ezetimibe to get my LDL even lower. And hallelujah, it's only like $5/mo instead of $600 like Repatha.
So, yay!

I just upgraded to fiber Internet and think it time to upgrade my network. Quick notes about what I currently have:
I rent a split level which is not that big and I'm trying to get the best speeds I can from the upstairs office to the downstairs livingroom. Because I rent I am not running hard line period, I'm not in college anymore so I'm not dealing with cables running across the floor. I have 1Gb up and down with the option of 10Gb, and have a Nighthawk with WiFi 5. My current coverage is really good, but I am only able to get about 500Mb (650Mb max) wireless vs. 950 Mb (1.3Gb max) wired (the horror!).
Because my WiFi coverage is good throughout the apartment, I don't think a two node mesh is worth it. But, I imagine a couple of wireless routers with my primary access point in the office, and the bridge in the other room connecting my TV, PS5, etc. would work better.
The question I have is what option would work the best for a bridge network? I have a few options in mind, but would like some opinions on what might be best, or an option that I haven't thought of yet (again, No hard line).
First option: get two WiFi 7 routers and do what I've mentioned above. The problem with this is I can't seem to find any proper documentation on bridging. My older Nighthawk has the bridge option in the setup, work has a WiFi 6 Nighthawk and it doesn't offer bridging (as far as I can tell). I'm willing to spend $500'ish on a mesh pair, but only if I can set it up as an AP and a bridge. I'm not willing to spend $800'ish per Asus router that might be able to do what I'm looking for. Are there WiFi 7 routers that offer AP and Bridge capabilities?
Second option: DIY. Build my own computer with two 10Gb ports, install and learn OPNSense, MikroTik four port 10Gb switch, WiFi 7 AP, WiFi 7 bridge, another switch. While I'm against spending more than about $500 for option 1, this is a project and I'm willing to spend more for a fun project. I have seen WiFi 7 AP that are reasonably priced, but does bridging work with two of these? Is there a specific unit that I should get for the bridge side?
Third option: a simplification of 2. Keep the WiFi 5 Nighthawk for routing and maybe as an AP for non entertainment devices (phone, tablet, etc.), add a WiFi 7 AP and Bridge and switch. Again, what are some good devices that offer bridge capabilities in WiFi 7?
Fourth option: (insert History Channel Alien Guy picture) Microwaves. Honestly, this is basically the same as option 3, but with two microwave units. I am a fan of Cambium, but how will two high power, 150 mile range, units work blasting through 30' and a couple of walls? Turn the power way down and hope it's not ionizing?
Fifth option: just say the heck with WiFi 7 and go with WiFi 6e. I doubt that I'll go with 10Gb service, but will 6e get me enough throughput to take full advantage of my 950Mb service?
Some opinions would be nice from the community. Either about my ridiculous options above, or something I haven't thought of. Also, I don't like Ubiquity. I don't care if the community does. I would rather run a hard line, and as I already said that is not an option. Also, I typed this out on my phone and I'm not going to proofread it. I hope my ramblings make sense.

2024.05.21 22:31 Business_Platform_63 First professional/career failure. Asked to leave show. Has anyone dealt with a massive shortcoming?

So I am a av professional and work mostly in corporate live events and I have had good experiences over the years. I work mostly as an LED Tech/Lead but also have a bachelors in audio engineering and have done lighting tech work too. I have a love of learning and so I have stronger skills but always trying to develop more so I will go learn a few new pieces of gear and software a year from manufacturer’s certifications.
Well about 5 months back I got certified by Barco for E2 (operator 1A, Specialist 1B). I finally got offered my first gig by a bigger company(corporate gig)and I crumbled under the short time frame and pressure.
They had milumin feeding the E2. There was no pre-pro and I asked weeks prior for any pertinent info. I kept following up. I was hoping to offset my lack of real world experience on the E2 with preparation. I finally got a horrible room diagram with some cable runs, they had a couple pixel maps but by then I didn’t have time to mess with simulator. I’m used to companies I work for having extensive pre pro with looks, content, previz, signal flow diagrams) this was just a huge figure it all out situation with no prep.
I get to show and the milumin op is an older guy who you can tell didn’t really know it. I kept asking for 3 separate canvases and outputs but he couldn’t get them also found out milumin doesn’t like hdmi and should have used display ports. I forgot how to properly make custom formats and the clients were breathing down my neck and another event master op. This was after we had trouble with power half the day. They also had a separate company doing records and lots of input switching with atem ME. Then we needed to make a bunch of Luma key BG as source layers from Milumin to frame cellphone inputs and tablet inputs. It was super extensive stuff they barely touched in 1A&1B. I tried my best to manage but the incredible pressure had me borderline panic attacking. I didn’t even take bathroom breaks we went into overtime. The next dy was 20hrs with everyone working to try to get the show going on every part of the signal flow chain. Constant changes.
There was no planning and combined with my lack of experience with e2 outside class combined with lack of organization I was crippled. Another e2 guy also the PM showed up (apparently flew in) and they basically took all the complication off the show (no masks, basic pips) and he took 4 hours making some basic presets when he could have just deleted the BG as source layers from existing presets. For the first time in my career I was taken off op along with milumin op. They asked me to come back at 7:30 (4 hr turnaround) after keynote I was asked to go home.
I feel awful about myself I feel like I could have done a lot differently. If I knew milumin that would help if I had a couple easier shows before that could have helped. I have been fine with so many other op positions and ran cues for audio, video, lighting.
Has anyone had a colossal failure like this? I don’t even know how to feel rn I really thought I was smart enough to figure out curveballs but I felt lost. The TD assured me I’m not blacklisted and that this is a learning lesson. He was older and a lot of the other people were older so they may have seen shows fail or failed themselves. I just can’t get over losing and I’m appalled.
I’m scared to take another E2 job again because I feel like even if I study my ass off and practice there’s always something. I feel like I should just stick to my LED stuff. Maybe I’m just defeated in the moment but idk how to get over being sent home from a gig. This is a first and I’m humbled beyond belief.
If you have experienced anything like this I’d love to hear about it because I seem to be the only one that’s shit the bed on Reddit. I’ve dedicated my life to this career and now I feel like I’m worthless.

I’m a 36F here with schizoaffective and ptsd. I don’t drink, smoke, vape or do drugs. I’m currently on gabapentin 400 twice daily but tapering off, clonidine 3 times daily, prazosin, zyprexa 5 mg AM, 15 mg PM, depakote 500 mg AM 500 mg PM and lamictal 100. My psychiatrist asked me if I wanted to go on haldol as a replacement for zyprexa but I said no at the time. It has worked in the past but I recently had movement side effects from Latuda and spent the day in the ER on benzos and Benadryl. My question is would I probably now get the same issues from haldol as I did w Latuda? And is it a better choice than zyprexa?

I have recently begun taking large plugs out of my lawn and have some Tahoma 31 I will be cutting up and placing in the plugs. I had my soil tested so I could more efficiently fertilize without wasting money or overfeeding. What I am seeing is just to fertilize with pure nitrogen from now on? I do the fall-nitrogen-blitz yearly and usually only spread Richlawn during the summer.
Do I need to do anything about the pH in the Front yard? Not sure if Bermuda Tahoma 31 will be much different from the current TTTF/KBG blend as far as feeding

I was feeling great the first 5 days then a couple days ago anxiety crept her way back in, like it's to the point where I'm worried about bumping up my dose to 10 MG lol so yeah I probably should. I have several friends/family taking it with nothing but good things to say and no real side effects. When should I start taking 10mg because I think I probably need it but dont know if the 5mg just needs more time. I am thankful for this thread and really appreciate all the posts. Makes me feel better. I was so worried about starting Prozac.

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,
Ich habe leider die Entwicklung von Displayschutzprodukten nicht verfolgt und suche eine Argumentation, welches der 2 Produkte nun das bevorzugte in der Community ist.
Ich habe das neue Google Pixel 8a erworben und vor Ort beim lokalen Elektronikmarkt eine Schutzfolie auftragen lassen. Es handelt sich um folgendes Produkt: (Herstellerwebsite) SBS mobile - maßgeschneiderter Schutzfilm auf Smartphones und Tablets
Ich habe aber auch folgendes Produkt im Internet bestellt: (Amazon) JETech Schutzfolie für Google Pixel 8a 6,1 Zoll, Gehärtete Glas Displayschutz mit Einfachem Installationswerkzeug, Fingerabdruck Kompatibel, HD Klar, 3 Stück
Dieses Schutzglas wurde mit 9H-Glass gebaut, auf der anderen Seite wurde mir im Elektronikmarkt gesagt, dass billige Schutzfolien nichts taugen, also auch in der Bedienung keinen Spaß machen. Meine 3 Glass-Panele haben 8€ gekostet, während laut Rechnung die Folie im Elektronikmarkt 15€ kostete(ohne Service). Die Folie ist bereits auf dem Smartphone aufgetragen und ich merke beim Benutzen der Wischgesten, dass ich immer über den Rand der Folie streiche und Angst habe sie dadurch über die zeit zu lösen.
Mag hier vielleicht jemand seine Erfahrungen mit Schutzfolien/Schutzglässern teilen, Ich habe nicht wirklich das Gefühl die Leute im Elektronikmarkt sind da Vollprofis auf dem Thema
TL:DR: Schutzfolie oder Schutzglass fürs Smartphone? Was ist besser? Teile deine Meinung mit ob ein 8€ Schutzglass was taugt oder Ich die 15€ Schutzfolie belassen sollte?

I have an appointment with a gastroenterologist tomorrow (unrelated) and my PCP hasn’t seen these results yet (they are a retest following similar results ~3 weeks ago). Wondering if I should mention to my gastro, or just wait for my PCP to review and tell me next steps?
