The last 3 patches dropped on the 21st of a month... May 21st sounds nice to me

Hey.
I've been playing MOBAs for a little over 10 years, starting with HoN.
I've played a couple thousand hours of Dota 2, but I never considered myself good, and I never cared for ranked because I didn't like the role queue system.
But, around new years I came back home from my studies and I somehow ended up in a Dota 2 ranked push, I played like 8 games a day (and I can usually only stomach one game MAX), and.. I ended up winning almost every game. I had a ridicilous 80-90% winrate in my first push from Archon to high Legend.
It surprised me, because while Archon and Legend are really bad ranks, I thought that's where I'd end up. I was 100% confident about that.
Then, I quickly reached Ancient. No problems whatsoever.
Then I took a break and yesterday I reached Divine for the first time ever, and it wasn't hard.
This is so weird to me because I want to be proud of hitting Divine, and it it keeps going like this I'd be able to hit Immortal easily, but I feel like something is very, very wrong.
I've read some posts of people claiming that ranked is in a weird spot right now and that it's easier to climb than ever, and honestly, it seems like it.
What's up with that? Anyone care to explain?

As you can see I have a 67.7% winrate across almost 200 games. That doesn't seem right.
The heroes I've played the most (and almost exclusively) in mid are:
Dragon Knight (49 games, 71% winrate) Sand King (39 games, 84% winrate) Clinkz (23 games, 69% winrate)
The only thing I know that I might be doing differently is that in every game I'm very vocal and I'm making calls. I'm trying to bring the team together for smokes, objectives, make sure we target the right person and other calls like "push here" or whatever. But I don't think that should make that much of an impact.

Halaaaa. I live on the West Coast and I am have been starting to wonder how I'll *hopefully* meet a potential spouse. I'm not in a rush per se because my life is just not where I want it to be to be with someone and I'm working on becoming a better version of myself and unpacking my own bad habits/doing A LOT of self-reflecting. I do want to put myself out there sometime in the next year for talking/dating but just want to sort through my own mental health things first. I'm a Muslim 27F, honestly haven't been religious majority of my life and in recent years just been figuring out my relationship with religion and where I fit in it.
It's been a struggle and maybe this isn't the right subreddit but I think it's still relevant, hopefully others can relate to it too. I struggle because I just don't feel good enough for the type of partner that I'd like to be with. I want to be with someone that is Arab + Muslim as we just understand the culture and religious background much more. I also just want to be with an Arab because I realized that's where I feel most seen and understood. I have yet to have felt that way with any other ethnicity I've dated. I'm working on shifting my mindset and am in therapy currently. I definitely believe in God and the teachings of Islam but because I've done my share of sins I don't think it makes sense for me to get on one of the Muslim matchmaking apps. And I just don't want to get on any of the apps in general. I'd love to meet someone organically but I'm realizing that might be a bit harder than I thought for a few reasons. 1) There's not a ton of Arabs in my city and the ones that are here, I know them like through the community or we're friends sort of thing. 2) Arab men don't really approach women in the wild lol. I guess that is true for men in general, they kind of have just kept to themselves which I can appreciate.

Since I was in high school ---- I had this strong principle "to never date any of my orgmates." The reason for this is that I never wanted to treat my organizations and circular groups as leverage for dating. Currently, organizations the third-party dating applications for graduate school. Since I see it as cheating that you have the same interests because you are a part of the same organization. Late in my high school and early in my collegiate life, I have seen people, who dated (CIS and Queer) with their org mates and it didn't end well. From the activities being canceled due to a conflict of interest, or when the organization becomes a civil war because people are siding with X and Y due to relationship quarrels. This principle was solidified further when I saw one of my high school best friends, 23-M, cause a raucous to different organizations (four organizations, we are a part of) because they broke up with his girlfriend. Hence, why I concluded and promised that "I WILL NEVER ANY OF MY ORG MATES" - ever.
Being in my junior year in university, I am beginning to question this 'built principle' I made for myself. I am a part of different organizations that are co-ed in nature, and I see these Alumni couples who are both healthy in their relationship during their span in residency and in their adult life. Honestly, I was resentful at first because yeah it questioned my principles, how could this work and how did it work ---- are they just lying to me? Well, I am damned because I interviewed their batchmates (who are a part of the organization and/or the same age as the couple) if they had a healthy relationship ---- they answered, to my surprise, "Their relationship(s) just clicked and the organization somewhat bloomed because of them."
Now, It gets complex from here... In 2022, I like this girl, 22F, because she is my type and the person who shares the same interests with me (outside and inside the organization). I told some of my close friends that what if we dated, is there a chance that you see us? They said yes because both our vibes and interests are the same. Notably, I became her mentor in an organization because she shares the same passion with me for that organization and she delivers brilliant and feasible ideas to the table. We would have infrequent conversations but long conversations (that would last for one/two hours) about our plans in life and our interests. Lastly, I shared my strong stance on dating when it comes to members of an organization and my sexual orientation. She was supportive of it and in no way questioned it.
In 2023, my close male friend, 24M, and I talked about my principle "to never date any of my org mates." My male friend told me that he was interested in the same girl, 22F. Honestly, I told him what I knew about specifically her interests and passions, and told him what were her ideas and plans in life. Honestly, I had to spill the beans and wanted to help a friend out. In particular, I had to be frank with my friend because I still believed that I wouldn't compromise "to never date any of my org mates."
Aside from my academic work and my different affiliations, I became limited in meeting her from time to time. I casually heard through conversations and received messages from my male friend (24M) that their relationship was still a work in progress. I even advised him on what he should give to her during Valentine's because it's her birthday too. According to him, she was really happy with the gifts that she received, and she was into him. I believed that their relationship was truly a work in progress, which I was 100% happy and supportive of, but I might be wrong.
A friend of 22F caught my attention, he's 22-NB. Our different circle of friends (all four of us) decided to go bar hopping before the start of Christmas Break. I had a blast and enjoyed that alcohol frenzy, but that is when I met with 22-NB. Since they are partners in their research, I saw them as really close friends. I asked 22F about him, but I wasn't receiving a proper response from her ---- both physical and digital. I asked her if he was single and what his interests and things alike. She would barely give me a response face-to-face or she would change the topic entirely, or she wouldn't keep unread/seen for my texts or messages if it's about him. I originally thought she was busy with school and other stuff, which she was really.
Instead, to seek validation of my feelings I asked my male friend (24M) about him. He mentioned that 22-NB goes with him and 22F because they are not just research partners but also coursemates in almost all courses. Obviously, I felt the advice that he was giving to me was something that he was doing in return because of the advice that I had given to him about 22F. He shared uncleared and foggy advice about her (I should've taken this as a red flag), which I took wholeheartedly. I was completely wrong... He was just enabling to like 22-NB more for it to benefit him.
Since I was hearing only one side of the story, I was totally blinded. Late in February 2024, 22F opened up to me that since October 2023 they have been in a relationship with 22-NB. My friend, 24M, was affecting their relationship since he was annoying both of them and still forced himself to pursue 22F despite given with the circumstances. I was furious because he tried to play with my emotions to stir up and serve as "the catalyst" to break the relations between 22F and 22-NB. I had to be the mature one in this circus. I apologize to 22-NB and let go of my delusionally-feed feelings for 22-NB. I also even spoke frankly and (to an extent) scolded 24M for his psychological tactics, but I never told him honestly about my feelings towards 22F.
Recently, I have been seeing 22F frequently because of a big project that we are organizing that involves both immense manpower and resources. Since she is the community service head of our organization now, and I am the president. On our walk to her dorm, she would tell me what happened recently with her life and with 22-NB and 24M. She said she was annoyed with him, and even 22-NB was too. She explained that she is in an on-off relationship with 22-NB because there are times that they don't align in things. During one of our walks in April, she looked me in the eye and said she was happy that I was somewhat going back to her life, and she truly missed the closeness and company we had with one another before. I jokingly said, "I mean we have something big here that involves a lot of resources. I don't want to be flagged by our school's administration and the student body that we are just playing around here" but truly deep inside I wanted to say that I too am happy. She would just laugh things out but I have a strong sense that she knows that I am somewhat lying.
Over the weekend, she had a severe panic attack, and I immediately went to her dorm. I comforted her and she explained to me how life has been treating her lately from finals to her recent quarrel with 22-NB. I am a 30 year old guy living in Los Angeles, California. I currently live on my own and my parents live 40 minutes away from me.
Over the past year, my parents have pressured me to start dating and get married. I don’t want to get married right now, I just want to enjoy most of my 30s being single. I have even told my parents this but they won’t listen.
Recently, my parents contacted a matchmaker from India to try and set me up with a woman. They told me if I don’t find someone soon, they will arrange a marriage for me and I have no say in it.
They have even threatened to take me off of their inheritance if I don’t do what they want. They are very toxic and I am starting to resent them.
What should I do? Can I contact the police about this and tell them my situation?
I may have to move down to San Diego and go no contact with my parents if they try to forcefully get me to marry. I really feel like they are trying to ruin my life but they see it as “we are doing what’s best for you.”

Thanks to Weezy's recent video there has been increased interest in making another movement similar to #SaveTF2. I've given it some thought, and I realized that we have been going about this the wrong way. If we want to increase our chances of Valve actually responding, what we need to do is stop demanding they fix the bot problem.
Knowing tf2, most people have already stopped reading and downvoted, because it sounds ridiculous. The bot problem has been the number one issue everyone playing TF2 has faced, how would ignoring it fix anything? Please allow me to elaborate:
Valve is NOT capable of fixing anything related to cheating. Look at Counter Strike 2, a game that is 100 times more profitable and popular than TF2, and it's suffering from a massive cheating problem. If Valve isn't capable of fixing the cheating problem in CS2, a game that they have a lot more incentive to fix, then there's no chance they can fix it in TF2. This is not me being a "doomer" or whatever you want to call it, this is me being objective. Valve is simply not capable of fixing the bot issue.
Here's the thing, if we make #FixTF2 (or whatever our next movement is called) solely focused on fixing the bot issue, nothing will happen because Valve can't fix the bot issue. And unless I see Valve successfully handle the cheating problem that CS2 has, I will not change my mind about this. If you want to argue that "Valve should be able to fix it because they're a billion dollar company" or that "Valve needs to fix it because it's their job to maintain their games," that's fine, there's nothing wrong with those arguments. But the truth of the matter is that I'd much rather see a successful movement not focused on the bot issue than a movement focused on the bot issue that results in nothing.
So here are our two options:

1. We can make #FixTF2 a movement that demands Valve to fix the bot issue. Fixing the bot issue isn't feasible for Valve, so they just ignore the movement. If they don't ignore it, the best case scenario is that they make a patch that stops the bots for 2 weeks before they're back.
2. We can make #FixTF2 a movement that demands Valve to fix OTHER glaring issues the game has. Issues that are actually feasible for Valve to solve. Unlike the first option, Valve is way less likely to ignore the #FixTF2 movement if we demand for something that they're actually capable of doing.

If you're wondering why I'm assuming that Valve will ignore a movement focused on the bot issue but wouldn't ignore a movement focused on other issues, it's because there is precedent for it. When the Open Fortress and Team Fortress 2 Classic developers talked to Valve about getting their mods on the Steam Store, Valve actually listened (Eric Smith is still to this day working on making that happening). When TF2 map makers made an open letter to Valve about adding non-seasonal maps to the game, Valve actually listened and even gave us a blog post asking us to make maps for the 2023 summer update. Regarding the bot issue, we know from the recent Eric Smith interview that they're basically not doing anything about it and don't have plans to do anything about it. This tells us that they already know about the bot issue and already know we want it fixed but just aren't capable of fixing it.
So if we can't demand Valve to fix the bot issue, what can we demand from them? Well, there's three things we need to demand from them:

1. A better F2P experience.
2. A better community server experience.
3. Quality of Life fixes

For the first point, free to plays have been muted since a 2020 patch. This was a bandaid fix that tried to stop spamming bots. We need to demand Valve to unmute free to plays, it has done nothing but make the free to play experience terrible.
For the second point, we need to improve community servers so that it is easier to avoid the bots in casual. First of all, it should be incredibly easy to create a community server. If I want to make a hightower server to mess around in with friends, I should be able to do that in seconds, I shouldn't have to know how to setup a dedicated server to do it. So making the "create server" button on the main menu functional for things outside of LAN play would be huge. And this is completely possible for Valve to do since it was done in Gmod. It would also help people who live in areas where there aren't a lot of community servers since now there would be more players creating their own. However, if I want to play a specific map like sd_doomsday, I'm not gonna join an empty community server and wait for people to join, I'm gonna use the casual matchmaking system which has a good chance of placing me in with bots. To populate community servers, there needs to be a checkmark in the casual matchmaking system to include vanilla community servers (which would only include community servers that used the old quickplay requirements). Lastly, fix small things. Like how the "join game" option you get on Steam when you right click a friend doesn't work most times. Or how the community server browser is finnicky and feels terrible to use (it would be great if the community server browser instead looked something like teamwork.tf's).
For the third point, there is an entire section in the workshop dedicated to community fixes that haven't been implemented yet. There is an entire build of TF2 called Team Comtress 2 that optimizes a lot of the game and fixes many bug issues. The default settings in TF2 are dated and need to be updated. And it'd be nice to have the option to disable unusual effects or cosmetics.
This is all assuming that we're even going to get together as a community to start another movement, but I genuinely believe it is better to make the movement focused on non-bot issues. Please reply with your thoughts.

Hey BWT - I'm feeling really inspired (from the dating-related posts in this sub) to host a series of day parties for singles this summer on my private rooftop in the LES. In a past life, I was a professional matchmaker, and I think with a little work, I could solve a real problem and help answer the question "where are all the single men?". I only just watched Victorious for the first time as an adult so pardon me if I get anything wrong about these characters. But I just wanted to write out where I think these characters would realistically end up after school or where we could pick up if there ever were a reboot or reunion.

As a monogamous lesbian who wants kids, I’m having a hard time on the apps. I’ve been to two Shuffle dating events and had fun, but so far I haven’t met anyone I’m super interested in. The general idea is described at this link, but the gist of it is that FMC and MMC are set up by family or friends, for either an arranged (essentially forced) marriage or like a potential suitor thing or matchmaking thing. They both aren't interested and maybe one of them decides to run away, and then later they meet under different circumstances while hiding their true identities. They fall in love without realizing they were actually once engaged (or still are engaged maybe) to each other or were set up at one point.
I'm open to any genre really, but I imagine what I described above may be more common in fantasy, lile q princess on the run or in disguise? Reminds me of Aladdin where Jasmine dresses as a commoner to escape a forced marriage situation (though not to Aladdin obv).
In a more contemporary setting, I guess this would be more like FMC/MMC being set up on a blind date by their friends. Maybe one or both of them stand the other up, only to meet later by chance. The idea stems from a short story fanfic I read where the FMC and MMC ended up meeting in the laundry room (?) while hiding from their respective friends during a party, only to realize that they were the ones their friends had been trying to set them up with for many months. They'd both been avoiding it because they were sick of the previous blind date/matchmaking disasters.

• One of the two characters already knew the other's true identity and their history, and maybe their meeting in the different circumstances wasn't a mere coincidence. Like FMC ran away and MMC went after her for whatever reason, while hiding his identity from her on purpose. Maybe the MMC agreed to the marriage out of duty and tries to convince/reason with (not force!) FMC to return for the sake of the family, but eventually ends up genuinely loving her. I read a similar post where the MMC wants the marriage to happen, is obsessed with FMC, and forcibly drags her back to get married or something. I'd rather avoid that and prefer that both MCs consent to each other. Whatever force or meddling that needs to happen should be from the intrusive and overbearing friends or family trying to set them up.
• Instead of both realizing their true identities at the same time, one realizes before about the other's true identity and that they're actually engaged, etc. and keeps it a secret and plays along. Like in You've Got Mail
