2024.05.21 20:53 glide_on My new Seraphinite ring

My new Seraphinite ring
I was looking for a seraphinite ring. I'm very drawn, as a n00b, to anything with angelic connections, higher beings. With my upcoming new job as a hospice nurse (case manager), I feel it's important to be connected since I'll be dealing with transitioning.
I was unhappy with what I was finding on Etsy and found this in an online store. They only had one and I had to take a gamble with the size because my ring size has changed from weight loss. Fits perfectly on my thumb, which is what I wanted. I wanted a ring since touch is important to me and I feel like I provide healing with my touch and hands (which hospice isn't about healing someone technically). But touch is important.. also I play piano.
So excited about this piece.

2024.05.21 20:49 blah191 It’s getting easier and more difficult at the same time

The feeling of distance between us growing makes me feel uncomfortable. He is getting farther and farther away from me now. At first I didn’t feel the urge to reach out to him, but now at around 30 days NC I’m feeling it. We are both the dumper and dumpee. I instigated it on 4/08.
We’ve had bad things occurring throughout our short 5 months together, his estranged brother killed himself around 4 months ago, my sister died the day before I melted down and told him I was “letting him go with compassion”. I regret what I’ve done, it wasn’t nasty but it was over the top and I’m ashamed and deeply remorseful over this. A week after I did that I asked if he’d talk to me and he said he was “good.” I left it for another week and tried again, just a video apologizing in earnest and he said “ no need for further apologies. Please stop contacting me.”
I never meant to lose him forever, I just made a decision I regret while I was in full fight or flight mode. I hadn’t really seen him for 3 weeks and my attachment style activated and I tried very hard to not let my feelings and worries grow during that time,to think it wasn’t personal I wanted to be whatever he needed me to be without becoming a problem. Then my sister died and it led to me exploding. It was wrong to do. I hate how big my feelings get and how easily they can control me at times.
Next month will be 2 years I’ve been sober from alcohol. I quit drinking because I would do things like this. I started meditation and yoga and exercise and became pretty proficient at it. I am blessed to be able to learn and acquire new skills quickly. I thought that quitting drinking would be enough for me to not lash out at people and bottle up but it wasn’t.just made it take longer and require more but the impulse is still there and strong. I started therapy a month before the end, I wanted to be in time for him because I was fighting fear of this very thing happening for the duration of our time together and then it finally happened. I self sabotaged.
We weren’t even really together, it’s what’s called a “situationship” I would learn after googling various relationship related topics online. We did all the things a couple did, but he said he wasn’t ready for real and I didn’t understand at the time, I have next to no dating experience despite being 35. I’d just never met anyone who made me feel the way he did in my entire adult life. A few flings but nothing meaningful. I didn’t ever know what I was doing and I had a lot of anxiety all the time. I lost weight.
He would serenade me and I’d listen eyes full of stars. I fucked up and I feel like I’ve done decent healing the last 2 months but I want so badly to message him and tell him it would be different this time, that I understood better. That I’d had the time and separation from him to gain distance and insight into my feelings and behaviors and that I wouldn’t be so uneasy all the time. He wouldn’t have to reassure me. I want to tell him I’m happy, aside from losing him, and that I think if he liked me when I was depressed and anxious, which I was most of the time we knew each other, that he’d really like me when I’m happy. I want to know if he is ok and if he is healing from his loss. I want him to know I still care about him a lot and that I’d do still do just about anything if it’d make him feel better. I hate that he is probably alone most of the time now, unless he found someone new, I don’t think he has but it’s possible.
I don’t want to upset him either. I’m embarrassed and full of shame because I once again let my emotions get the better of me. I failed again. I’m not too down on myself for the failure because I know the ways I’ve improved over the last few years of trying to be better. This is a costly lesson for me.
I hate how he must think of me now. I feel like I can be what he wanted me to be now. My feelings are still there, but they aren’t dictating to me what I’ll do. I have felt like this for about a week and a half and so far have been able to not reach out. My heart reaches though and I can feel the empty space between us.
Forgive me my rant and I know this is hardly full of context, I needed to vent. I worry it’ll look like I was playing games or something but that wasn’t my intent at all ever. I feel like all I did was hurt this man and every single time it was unintentional, but happened the same. I’d look on in horror as I would do things that hurt him. I’d be surprised at how he’d react emotionally sometimes. Each time though he would get farther and I’d only realize how he cared when I started losing it.
I don’t like confrontation I don’t like hurting people, I like helping and I can’t help but feel I just let him down so much because I can’t keep it together sometimes. I’d struggle to know how to talk to him about things and that’s on me.
If nothing had changed I wouldn’t reach out but I’ve been in therapy, both group and individual, reading and doing independent research into attachment theory and other topics as well as enrolling in college for the second time and it’s now been around two months since I started some new medications for anxiety and depression so those should be in my system now too.
I want to be a bit selfish and just tell him I hope he is ok, I miss him, that I’ve been learning a lot, and that I’d like him in my life because I made a stupid decision after feeling on edge for so long and it wasn’t what I really wanted at all, at least not like this. I know this is super long idk what it is really, I guess it’s just a long diary vent type thing. I want to respect his wishes but this is hard. To be so close and in constant contact then nothing. Without any way to look at social media I’ve been feeling that he was a figment of y imagination. Good luck to you all, may we all get what we deserve.

2024.05.21 20:46 alyssaryn Lost the first 10 lbs and I'm proud!

I still have a long way to go, of course. I started at 5'2" and 141 lbs. I hit 131 this morning though, and I'm super proud of myself for sticking with my diet because in the past I have always given up within a few days/weeks. My next goal is to hit 120 lbs, and then to get down to 105-110 lbs. My lowest I've ever been is 108 lbs, and I was pretty comfortable there so that's my ideal for now.
I try to eat around 1200 calories a day. I'm kind of short and my TDEE isn't the biggest, unfortunately. I also don't personally get much exercise (I have agoraphobia and share a small apartment with two other people) but I'm working on incorporating some at-home exercises into my routine. The weight loss is slow but steady.
I also have to give credit to my Vyvanse prescription for giving me a head start - I take it for ADHD and binge eating. It's also an appetite suppressant. I know not everyone can be on this medication, but for me it has been a godsend. My binging has stopped completely and I'm no longer hungry all the time. My doctor is aware of my weight loss and we both think this med is a great fit for me.
That's not to say the medication is a cure all. I still have been making conscious efforts to choose healthier, more filling food options and drinking plenty of water. I've been really liking protein bars, eggs, vegetables, and greek yogurt.
I also find that eating around the same times every day helps, my body's hunger cues seem to get used the routine and I'm not lefting craving snacks in-between. I also let myself indulge on occasion as long as it fits into my daily calories. I think I'd get pretty depressed if I could never have a treat again!
Anyways, I just wanted to share my progress and hopefully encourage others who are struggling to get that first 10 lbs down. I did have a plateau for a while and I know how frustrating that can be, but it's so worth it to ride it out. I hope everyone is doing well on their weight loss journey!

2024.05.21 20:45 ginger1324 Is there any truth to green tea boosting your metabolism?

I’ve heard a lot of people praise green tea for helping them lose weight, but also a lot of people saying it’s a false claim. Does green tea actually boost metabolism, or is there something else causing the weight loss?

2024.05.21 20:42 Traditional-Cook-785 On month 3 of Semaglutide and haven’t lost weight.

Good Afternoon! I’m mainly looking for encouragement/ideas on how to help with weight loss. I just started month 3 of Semaglutide & have not lost any weight. For context, I’m a 34 year old female/184 lbs/pre-diabetic/PCOS & have higher than average cortisol levels. I try to exercise daily, even if it’s just a 20 minute walk. I’m very active. My step-count is never below 10k daily. I have a very physical job. I eat very healthy due to the pre-diabetes and overall having an anxious personality when it comes to my health. My diet is mostly low-carb/high protein. I drink about a gallon of water a day. I don’t drink pop or anything else really besides 8 ounces of black coffee in the morning. I do work 60-70 hours a week so I meal prep and I’m very conscious about portion control/etc. I eat at a deficit.
I’ve always had a very hard time losing weight. I’ve been this way my whole life. My brother suffers from the same issue. I’m praying this month is the month I see some improvement.
Any encouragement or tips is greatly appreciated! 🫶

2024.05.21 20:39 rainman24588 Rim Westworld or Why you whouldn't build with wood

Yes we all know the dangers of wood and I'm sure you probably know where this story is going but sometimes for roleplaying purposes it's neccesary. So...
My current save is a role play of an old west town. I started with 3 colonists, aptly named after the 3 Amigos, Lucky, Ned & Dusty. They rode in to a dustbowl and soon built a prospering farm and ranch. Soon enough the little farm became a community of 10 and a small town developed.
Every member pulled their weight but most important was Morg, the first to join and the main Horse Rancher. She was bonded with all but the 3 horses our heroes rode in on and was a battle hardened veteran, having single handedly cleared out an ambush when on her way to peace talks with a local tribe.
Mord met and got engaged to Raido, the saloon owner, and they moved in to his loft above the bar the same day he popped the question. The townsfolk had been feeling a little down lately and this news gave them renewed optomism and so, with a little planning, the construction of a new church, with Morg and Raidos wedding to be the first celebration, got underway.
The town had built up a good surplus of stuck so all hands were on deck for the construction. Within 2 days the walls were erected, then began the painstaking task of laying the massive floor. Those less skilled soon proved to be more of a hinderance so whilst the rest were sent away Ned and Dusty vowed to finish the job alone.
They toiled for 3 days, by which point the floor was still only half finished. Exhausted they dropped in to bed. It felt like only seconds before Kane was shaking them awake, raiders had been spotted by the night guardsman. A large group, bigger than we'd ever seen. He rushed to wake the others.
Metting outside the saloon the colonists noticed a member missing. Nolerboa, their newest member. Kane had left them sleeping, they hadn't yet been outfitted with a weapon and they didn't fully trust their new raider turned recruit.
The raiders attacked from multiple points forcing the townsfolk to split up around the palisade wall, firing pot shots at the rushing foe.
Lucky, Tail and Kane took the main force who broke through the palsiade wall before being beaten back leaving 1 member behind to be captured. Ned, Raido and Morgan took the next group trying to break through the East gate, they were quickly dispatched before a lone raider, who had slipped around the side unnoticed and broken through a wall downed Morgan. The gang quickly returned fire and Ned grabbed the downed Morgan to get him to safety.
Dusty and Morg took the last raider, the only one on horse back, they thought about going for their own horses but the paddock was the other end of the town and they didn't have time. They dashed across the open ground of the church yard and took cover behind the palisade. They fired a few waning shots at the raider who returned fire immediately. The first bullet found a small gap in the palisade and tore in to Morgs chest obliterating her heart. Dusty struck back and dispatched the raider but it was too late. The colony had suffered their first loss. As the few surviving raiders retreated, the wounded and captured returned to the town whilst a new threat emerged. As the raiders spread around the town they set numerous fires around the palisade wall, fires that had had to be ignored in the heat of battle. Now there was heat of a different kind, 5 different fires slowly spreading out in a circle around the town. The church with its brand new wood floor is of course next to the largest of the spreading flames.
I'm not sure if everyone is going to get out alive from this. But the one thing I do know is that at least Nolerboa is well rested...
When you say you can sleep through anything and you mean it!

2024.05.21 20:39 Purple_Current1089 Down 7 pounds!

Good morning! The sun is out! We’ve been having a thick marine layer in SoCal, so I’m happy to see some blue sky! 60 f menopausal 5’7” SW 190.6 CW 183.6 GW 155 I started tirz on 5/11, so that’s 7 lbs in 10 days! I know I won’t lose that fast for next almost 30 lbs, but I’m happy to see that I’m moving in the right direction. I took 1.25 mg on 5/11, and 1.5 mg on 5/18. The appetite suppression waned on day 6 on the 1.25. I am micro dosing as suggested by Dr. Tyna (to be found on YouTube.) I liked her ideas, but not her $2K fee to take her course, so I decided to experiment on my own as I’m looking to take the lowest effective dose for me. I’ll decide if I need to titrate up this coming Saturday, 5/25. I’m having minimal side effects: dry mouth, sometimes a metallic taste, and low grade nausea. I also follow a lady on TikTok, “Chas everyday”. She’s a spokesperson for Valhalla Vitality. She lost 145 lbs. I also get my tirz from them. She’s lovely, down to earth, and has a ton of excellent info on how to make tirz work for you. Lastly, I recently watched a YouTube video on The Diary of a CEO in which the author interviewed was Johann Hari. He is an investigative journalist and recently published a book called “Magic Pill: The Extraordinary Benefits and Disturbing Risk of the New Weight-loss Drugs”. He has an interesting POV because he has used the drugs himself. He gives an excellent and nuanced overview of sema and tirz. I wish everyone well on their health journey! I hope this is the last thing I have to try. I’ve kept off 25 pounds for 2 years twice, and this last regain was 25 pounds plus. I broke my foot, and had to have surgery, along with a change to a stressful job. The tirz was the only thing that reversed the regain.

2024.05.21 20:37 Illustrious-Noodle1 5yo son been recommended to possibly be medicated.

Hello,
Concerned dad here 🙋🏼‍♂️
My 5yo son has a some form of diagnosis from a private practitioner (I’m not completely sold but that’s another thread altogether)
That being said I think it’s evident that it’s probably accurate and im trying to be open minded and avoid denial.
Recently he’s gone back a year in school which I felt would be beneficial as he has a global development delay anyway and should have been held back before he started (another another thread)!
His new teacher has suggested to us that he may benefit from being medicated for ADHD, now this worries me as there are so many pros and cons attached and stigmas to boot!
The teacher acknowledged he is super bright but really struggles to concentrate and maintain a task for longer periods of time, which I see at home helping him learn to read with the curriculum books etc.
I know I can’t get a definite answer but I’m trying to understand ADHD at a rapid rate and determine what’s best for my son and mitigate all bad side effects or know what’s coming if this route is taken and what are alternatives that could actually be effective.
Could zeolite help? Are there medicines that aren’t stimulants but work? Could he become dependent on them having a longer term knock on into other drugs? Appetite loss is a no really as he is under weight anyway, how is that navigated.
I just want him to be happy, comfortable and keep being his lovely sweet self.
The format of this post will likely be annoying to some and I’m sorry, I’m kind of frantically trying to get my thoughts out as they happen!
Thanks 🙏

2024.05.21 20:31 bsnowe New maintenance calorie level struggle

Hey folks,
I’m 25F 5’8” and began my weight loss journey at 171 lbs. I used the TDEE calculator and chose sedentary for my activity level as I work a desk job & rarely, if ever, exercise.
I was eating 1,400 calories per day for about 2 months and was shedding 1 -1.2 lbs per week (some variance around my cycle) but overall very consistent. I have since reached 154 (down 17 lbs) and have noticed major plateau in the last 3 weeks. Scale wasn’t budging and I have no reason to believe I’ve put on any muscle.
Went to calculate my new maintenance calories in TDEE at my new weight and got 1,785. Feeling discouraged because to keep my 1 lb per week I’d have to eat 1,285 per day which just doesn’t seem sustainable / nearly enough IMO.
Wondering if anyone else has gone through this and how they dealt with it? I figure reducing my deficit to only 200-300 calories per day might be my best option along with incorporating more exercise but feel like I may become discouraged when I’m only losing a fraction of a pound per week.
Any advice? Much appreciated!

2024.05.21 20:30 It_really_depends Seeking motivation to keep losing for Sept. wedding

27F 5’3” SW:149 CW:136 GW: 120-125
Hi everyone! I have been aiming to stick to a 1200-1300 calorie limit and lifting weights 3-4 times a week since mid February. I’ve successfully lost some weight but it has been slower than expected.
My wedding is in mid September this year and I would really like to lose another 11-15 pounds by then. I have been incorporating walks the past few weeks when I can now that the weather is nice where I live.
I can tell I’ve put on a lot of muscle, which has always been easy for me, but I feel like the fat loss is slow. I do think that part of the reasoning is because I haven’t cut out alcohol. I eat extremely healthy/balanced meals during the week and barely hit my calorie limit but the weekends are a little tougher for me.
I still have no problem eating healthy on weekends but my culture, friends, and family encourage happy hours, glasses of wine with dinner, and going out for a drink on weekend nights. It’s nothing problematic or excessive but it’s a huge social thing for the people I’m close with. I decided to stop drinking during the week and limit any drinking to Friday and Saturday evenings. I limit my drinks to low calorie options and typically only have one or two.
I think this has been successful for me so far but I’m wondering if I am on track to hit my goal. I feel like my method has been easy for me to maintain and I could do it forever but I’m not sure if I’ll be where I want to be by my wedding. Any advice or encouragement would be so appreciated!!

To those that don’t… Please take your nutrition requirements, seriously.
I came across a young woman I would see frequently on TikTok who also had weight loss surgery. Recently just found out she passed away due to malnourishment, which led to her organs shutting down. She went by “Big Chris.”
She even admitted it in her last upload that it was due to her, not following the nutritional requirements as far as getting your protein and taking your vitamins.
I’m just posting this for current bariatric patient or patients that are in the process of getting wls. This is forever. The vitamins, the protein upkeep, the water upkeep. If you can’t see yourself doing this forever, I highly suggest you rethink the surgery for the sake of your life. For those who have gotten weight loss surgery already, please continue to do what you need to do in order to sustain your health. I’m wishing nothing but the best for everyone. Please stay safe everyone. Rip to Big Chris.

2024.05.21 20:30 Paliag 2 Months Progress. I hugged my Dr.

2 Months Progress. I hugged my Dr.
42F 5’7” SW226 CW 196 GW 150-160. 4w 2.5, 4w 5.0, started 5.0 compound this week, and will start 7.5 Zep I have on hand when the compound is gone.
I was not overweight the majority of my adult life. From 18-38, I ranged between 150-160.
I had babies 16mo apart at ages 38 & 40, gaining 75lbs. When I was 1 year PP with my second, I complained to my GP that I was exceedingly tired all the time, even though my Fitbit said I slept excellent most nights. In addition, I lost almost none of my accumulated “baby weight” even with a strict diet and exercise. He sent me to a dietitian, which was a total joke. She told me to eat 1500-1800 cal/day (duh) and “watch how much cream I was using in my coffee,” while pulling out a literal tablespoon. I left feeling hopeless and defeated.
Over the following year, I would occasionally tell my husband something was really “wrong” with me.
This year, one year after I first complained to my GP, I was at my annual obgyn appointment. At the end she asked me if I had any other concerns. I hesitantly told her what I told my GP the year before. I’m SO tired, and no matter how strict (clean) my diet and how much I use my peloton, the weight isn’t budging. I even quit drinking alcohol entirely months before, only to lose 4-6lbs in 4 months.
She looked at me and told me I was “in luck, because not only was she an Ob/gyn, but also an obesity specialist.”
Damn right, I was in luck. She explained what happened to my body, why my old habits were no longer working for weight loss, did a TON of bloodwork, and ultimately prescribed zepbound (which my insurance covers!). I’d never heard of GLP-1 meds, this is all new to me.
2 months later and I have hope again. I simply feel back to normal. I have lots, and lots of energy again.
I’m so thankful for her. We hugged.

2024.05.21 20:25 AspergerKid Ninebot F2 Pro vs NIU KQi300P (vs Xiaomi Scooter 4 Pro Max)

Ninebot F2 Pro vs NIU KQi300P (vs Xiaomi Scooter 4 Pro Max)
After 2 years of usage I think it has finally been time to hand my trusted KQi3 Sport down to my family and finally purchase my own scooter. The main reasons being that it is heavy and underpowered as well as the lack of turn signals and suspension. I set myself a budget of 600€ and the scooter must be more powerful, have some form of suspension, shouldn't weigh more than my KQi3 Sport, have an E-lock in the app and of course turn signals (and self healing tires while at it because I blew one. While for some my budget sounds like I'm being a choosing Beggar I actually found 2 models that check all of those boxes and are right within my budget: The Ninebot F2 Pro for 599€ MSRP and the NIU KQi300P which is 699€ but is currently on sale for 599€ so both scooters cost exactly the same. I am honestly extremely torn between those two and found no way to directly compare them, they also both have the same rated and max power. As a NIU owner I know their CS is good but the experience I have had with my KQi3 Sport wasn't exactly the best. There's a chance that I will have to send it back to NIU because I found an issue with it, and the warranty expires in about a month. So any advice or any insights and experiences on either the two would be appreciated. I really cannot decide.

Ninebot F2 Pro

The Main advantages are its better climbing performance, longer range and the fact that it is the lightest out of the bunch. Apparently the suspension is really good too. And it's got traction control but idk how good that is. I sure hope it is not a gimmick because I crashed a rental because of traction loss before.

NIU KQi300P

Its main advantages are the its huge tires, dual disk brakes. the iconic NIU headlight (which I really love on my KQi3 Sport), whereas the Ninebot would likely need an aftermarket one on top. It's also a 48V scooter (idk what the F2 Pro is) is and also that I am more familiar with NIU. The NIU also has a twist throttle, but I am unfamiliar with those.

BONUS CONTESTANT: Xiaomi Scooter 4 Pro Max (why did they name it like an iPhone?)

It is only listed as a bonus because it is technically 50€ over budget and also heavier than the other two, it also only has a max rider weight of 110kg compared to 120kg on the other options (I weigh about 100kg). It however also has the longest range at 60km. as well as drum brakes. I heard people say they are better and more reliable than disk brakes (the car world claims it's the other way round). While the F2 Pro has TRC, this one has ABS. It takes the longest to charge at about 9hrs with a regular adapter but a fast charger can be purchased which brings it down to 3hrs. Also correct me if I am wrong but I think Xiaomi is also banned in the USA so the largely American subreddit here cannot really help (correct me if wrong).

Usually individuals who suffer from throat cancer develop cancer in their voice box called larynx and face problems like sore throat, swelling of the neck, and difficulty swallowing. Possibly, the sufferer may note these indications of throat cancer in the beginning, but they might get to know it when the cancer gets more advanced and they face issues with breathing or speaking. However, throat cancer symptoms may differ based on their location in your body, and if the cancerous tumors grow within the voice box, they can make you ineligible to speak. These conditions require an immediate diagnosis, and you must visit a medical expert quickly!
Common Causes
However, the exact cause of throat cancer is not known, but due to the reasons mentioned, an individual might develop this illness:
  • Can develop due to genetic changes in the cells of your throat.
  • Consuming a lot of alcohol and tobacco-based products can possibly let you develop tumors.
  • Getting human papillomavirus infection.
  • Individuals exposed to chemicals like sulfuric acid, mist nickel, etc. in the workplace are at greater risk.
Throat Cancer Signs/Symptoms
Here’s a list of some common signs that a person may face when developing throat cancer:
Voice Changes: If your voice is becominghoarse or husky or you are facing difficulty pronouncing certain sounds or words, then there might be a possibility that you are developing cancer in your larynx.
Difficulty or Pain in Swallowing: The most initial sign that you might come across would be difficulty swallowing, as you might experience burning or pain when chewing and swallowing food.
Chronic Sore Throat: Known as an early warning sign, where cancer can occur in the pharynx, causing pain in your throat, which doesn’t disappear when you swallow.
Weight loss: An unusual weight loss may occur as a common cancer symptom which can be exacerbated by swallowing problems.
Swollen Lymph Nodes Around the Neck: Swollen nodes or enlarged lymph glands around the neck can be a sign your body is developing a cancer illness, especially if it grows slowly.
Other Signs
  • trouble moving your tongue
  • white patches around tongue or mouth lining
  • coughing up blood
  • nosebleeds

Ultrasound: Ultrasound of the neck is utilized to detect any abnormalities present, which can subsequently be verified using CT or MRI scans.
X-rays: The doctors may opt for chest x-ray to determine the sufferer’s general health and to analyze the spread of lung cancer.
CT Scan: A radiological procedure is performed to confirm and pinpoint the presence of disease or cancer in the neck region, while also assessing any potential lymph nodes. This involves creating detailed cross-sectional images of the targeted structure from various angles.
MRI: Using radio waves and magnets, the test produces detailed images about what’s going on inside your body.

2024.05.21 20:20 LightSaberToast Advice

Sup people So, I’m coming off Wellbutrin XL because I didn’t really do much for me Essentially, I have PTSD First 22 years in my life, I never had anxiety and no problems doing anything then obviously a big event happened and I’m gonna start therapy for it I spoke with my doctor yesterday and she is prescribing me Lexapro I used to have really bad panic attacks. There was a point where I was phobic and couldn’t leave my house for three years. I’ve been on Wellbutrin for a while, but it hasn’t really opened up doors and I’ve missed two funerals because I can’t fly and I still can’t drive or beyond highways, etc. I’ve just been here for a bit before picking up my bottle and I’m wondering about what the realistic side effects are for me because I’m a tune to being on medication essentially I’m pretty big because I like to go to the gym and hike and I do stay in shape as well as so I’m curious about the weight gain as I really do not want to pack on the pounds On top of that, I’m wondering about the ED because I’m sexually active as well And then my final question would be hasn’t helped anybody with agoraphobia Will eventually be able to actually live my life again it’s been about seven years now Like I said, I’m going to be starting therapy, but I have not gone yet so I have to rely on this medication for a while Looking for any tips and advice that anybody could give me because obviously the worst thing because I know that there has to be a lot of people with success as opposed to all the negative post What should I realistically be onto this medication and is it recommended to take at night if I want to remain an active person? Thank you in advance

2024.05.21 20:19 CryptographerNo2962 Super intense reoccurring groin pain for 10 years!!

I (19F) have been experiencing these awful intense intermittent pains in my groin area (ALWAYS on the right side, under my pelvic bone) since I was about 9-10 years old. I never have this pain happen on the left side area of my groin, just the right side.
Like stated, the pain is intermittent when it does happen (as I can go weeks or months without having this pain come) so it will usually come in ‘waves’ when it does happen. They last about 1-2 minutes, sometimes a bit longer but then go away for maybe 5-30 minutes before returning. A lot of the time it comes in these waves FOR HOURS. Sometimes the entire day.
The pain is like a sharp stabbing (and almost pulsing kind of feeling??) but incredibly deep in the area. It can get so bad that it can spread down the rest of my upper right leg or to my lower right backside - when I was younger I sometimes couldn’t make it to school because of the pain. It’s like the kind of pain that makes it a bit difficult to breathe and if I’m walking around while it happens, I usually have to sit and hover on the ground and wait before I can return back to sitting or laying down as that’s the best position to be during these waves. I find that stretching out my leg can give a tiny tiny bit of relief or sometimes putting pressure on the area.
I’ve never been pregnant, had any surgeries, or serious illnesses and I’ve had all of my shots since birth done (if this info helps) The only thing relevant is that a year & a half ago my spleen became enlarged due to an underlying condition - the doctors said celiac but I am almost certain that isn’t the full answer as no actual celiac tests were done (lazy doctors lol)
However, while I was in the hospital before they could figure out what was happening or that it was even my spleen that was enlarged (since I came in with symptoms of extreme pain from my stomach all the way into my chest, shoulders, and back affecting my breathing and body positioning) they were doing a bunch of random tests. One for pancreatitis, one for something to do with my kidney or gall bladder, of course some ultrasounds, and a test for Leukaemia. During these tests, they discovered a ton of white blood cells gathered all over my body but really around my right side in my abdomen and around my heart (which is why they assumed cancer initially) However besides that - my blood tests and other normal tests were completely normal, just low in iron so they just settled with Celiac?? (My spleen is no longer enlarged due to my knowledge but the whole ordeal caused a series of random minor infections in my eyes, teeth, and skin as well as losing 10-15lbs in a single month during the time)
Every. Single. Time. I ask my doctor, she just says it must be a normal cyst in my ovaries or for some reason keeps asking if I’ve ever had trauma to my right abdomen/pelvis area… which I have not. So I know Reddit isn’t the best place to go or anywhere online, but my doctor has been constantly insisting ever since I was a kid, even before all this spleen stuff, that it’s either one of those things sooo I’m hoping to hear of anyone that’s been or going through something similar?? I can’t find something that even sounds similar online to ask my doctor to check out and I’m at a loss. THIS PAIN IS NOT NORMAL!! Especially for 10 straight goddamn years in the exact same place with the exact same pain!!! Anything would be helpful, I just want some sort of insight or even relation or really any suggestions or advice!
Age: 19F / height: 5’5ft / weight currently: around 120lbs / location: Canada, BC. / race/ethnicity: 50/50 Italian & indigenous (native)

The "John Wick" franchise has carved out a niche in the action genre with its stylish, relentless, and intricately choreographed violence. "John Wick: Chapter 4" elevates this legacy, delivering an unforgettable experience that combines heart-pounding action with a deeper exploration of its protagonist's turbulent world.
Plot Overview
"John Wick: Chapter 4" picks up where the previous film left off, with John Wick (Keanu Reeves) on the run after being declared "excommunicado" by the High Table. With a global bounty on his head, Wick must navigate a perilous world of assassins and criminals. The film takes him from the neon-soaked streets of New York to the serene yet deadly landscapes of Japan and the ancient, shadowy corridors of Europe.
John's mission is to find a way to dismantle the High Table's power structure. To do this, he seeks the help of old allies and new faces, including the enigmatic Shimazu (Hiroyuki Sanada) and the cunning Caine (Donnie Yen). As Wick delves deeper into the underworld, he faces numerous adversaries, including the formidable Marquis de Gramont (Bill Skarsgård), a high-ranking member of the High Table determined to end Wick's life.
Highlights
  1. Intense Action Sequences
"John Wick: Chapter 4" is a masterclass in action choreography. The fight scenes are meticulously crafted, blending martial arts, gunplay, and close-quarters combat in a seamless ballet of violence. HIMS + GLP-1 drug, details and second order implications
Yesterday, HIMS announced that they have started offering GLP-1 injections on their platform.
The drugs are not just going to be available, they are available right now.
The current Hims & Hers Weight Loss offering is tracking to eclipse $100M in revenue by the end of 2025. This guidance is pre-GLP-1 drugs and the company has stated that at this time they are not updating this guidance.
We should have a better idea of what the company expects the GLP-1 drugs to bring in.
HIMS's offering of unbranded compound semaglutides will start at $199 a month. This is significantly lower than the branded counterparts Ozempic and Wegovy (around $2k/month).
What's the difference between HIMS's compound semaglutides vs Ozempic or Wegovy?
All 3 are semaglutides but the latter 2 are FDA-approved. Ozempic / Wegovy are the base forms of semaglutides while compounded semaglutides contain salt forms of semaglutides, like semaglutide sodium or semaglutide acetate.
They're basically the same thing.
GLP-1 shortages and HIMS's advantage
GLP-1 drugs are so effective for weight-loss with minimal side effects that some have hailed them as miracle drugs.
The obesity epidemic in North America has skyrocketed demand for GLP-1 drugs. This has caused a significant shortage of them. HIMS delayed offering GLP-1 drugs because of this shortage but it thinks that it has secured a stable supply.
This access to supply should also separate the company from its competitors. HIMS is the first large-scale online supplier of generic GLP-1s and manufacturers will give HIMS preference for supply. HIMS can probably maintain this supply advantage for quite a while given the massive demand for GLP-1s.

2024.05.21 20:07 ClappyBlappy I’m.. a bit stressed (vent)

Sorry for the word vomit that is about to follow. It’s a wall of text and I apologize. <••••••••>
I’m having this dilemma rn 🫠 I’m def trans-masc, but I was leaning more to masc-nonbinary bc I think I might be repping a bit and not allowing myself to think abt identifying more as a guy. I’ve had demiboy whispering (and now screaming) in my head for a few years, and I feel like that’s what I would want to be. I have voice and top dysphoria, I don’t like my name or being identified with female/fem identifications so much it makes me nauseous (minus being referred to as “mom” to my pets). I look very fem and ppl just assume, i get it, but at least a good handful of my coworkers and all my friends have really started using they/them for me since the new year started but none of my family does. I’ve already (not legally) changed my name 2 years ago (a shorter version of my deadname that’s more gender neutral) and my family and friends all call me by it…. but… okay this’ll sound crazy, lmk if I’m crazy… I’ve had this other person in my head since elementary school … and he is me and I am him and he goes by a different name and uses he/they and he’s everything I want to be. (Damn writing that has me in tears, was not expecting that). He’s changed a bit over the ears with me as my interests and goal of what piercings or tats I want change but overall he’s been the same. He’s me but better. And a guy. Or well a demiboy technically.
I’m too scared to look into medically transitioning right now, and I tried binding but since I’m a bigger person it didn’t work out very well. I’ve started my weight loss journey a week ago so I’m hoping this will help in my binding attempts. I’ve been coping by using meladaptive daydreaming as my escape, so I can be the guy in my head w/o feeling too.. like.. like I’m contaminating him? I worry that if I try to medically transition, I wont be exactly the guy in my head and my attempt would be a mockery of him. Again he’s still me just.. I might’ve idolized him after all these years 😅.
(not scared of my family- they are accepting, if not a little confused and I genuinely just don’t have the patience or the right words to explain it. Plus i feel like my dad would think it’s a bad idea to be trans/identify as trans bc it’ll turn me into a target. He would probably think its not logical and i would be taking unnecessary risk. He says stuff like I shouldn’t put pride stickers or my Baphomet sticker on my caanywhere where the public eye can see bc it’ll make me a target, but I already am one by existing, even if I was cis-het I would still be one so.. idk. My dad is kind and means well, but he’s very efficient and see’s most things as inefficient and will always discourage it)
Not to mention, I have a new coworker WHO LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE THE GUY IN MY HEAD AND EVEN GOES BY THE SAME NAME!!! It scared me so much and idk how to talk to him sometimes. Saying his name makes my stomach churn.
I’m sorry to anyone who reads this, it’s just a huge repper’s rant by now. I’m a bit self aware but also too anxious to try. There’s a lot HRT would fix for me (voice, muscle mass, eventual top surgery), but theres some (like skin health, smell, and hair loss/hair growth) that I don’t really want.. are there any gels or pills for the hair loss part? I already have a massive forehead, I don’t want it any bigger.
Again I’m sorry. I’ve heard of others complaining abt the same thing and this community being absolutely done with it lol. If you’ve made it this far, I hope you have a good day 💕
