Khloe Kardashian just celebrated a milestone occasion with her kids!
The 39-year-old reality star brought her six-year-old daughter True and 21-month-old son Tatum to watch their dad Tristan Thompson play basketball in an NBA game for the first time.
Khloe was with the kids at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse on Monday night (May 13) in Cleveland, Ohio.
The family cheered on Tristan as his team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, played against the Boston Celics in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. The Cavs lost to the Celtics.
While True was dressed in a pink t-shirt, Tatum wore a Cavs shirt with his dad's number on the back. Kim Kardashian's son Saint West was also there!

Round 6 deadline: Monday 13th May, 9pm GMT

Hey there Butt Hos!!! Before we get into the tiebreaker results and round 6, I want to announce that the rules around episodes tying will be changing. From now on, if 2 or 3 episodes gain the same number of votes each, they will all be eliminated at once. However, if 4 or more episodes tie, there will be a tiebreaker round to decide which one, two or three will leave first.
Anywayyyyyyyy, tiebreaker results! It was between Free Pass and Happy Holiday, and I must say it wasn't even close. So which episode got the most votes?
...
HAPPY HOLIDAY. Another episode of series 4 has left us after being defeated by the first episode to be filmed. It gathered 15 votes - ¾ of the total, whereas Free Pass only got 5.
Will Free Pass be voted out next, or will there be a plot twist? It's up to youuuuu.

Boston Celtics vs. Cleveland Cavaliers: An NBA Showdown of Epic Proportions

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, and basketball enthusiasts of all ages, gather around as we delve into the crystal ball of sports analytics to predict the outcome of the much-anticipated clash between the Boston Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Set your calendars and alarms for May 13, 2024, because this is not just a game; it's a prophecy waiting to unfold.

The Tale of the Tape

Before we jump into the nitty-gritty, let's set the stage with some cold, hard facts. The Boston Celtics, with their illustrious history and a trophy cabinet that would make Fort Knox blush, are set to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers, a team that knows a thing or two about overcoming odds (remember 2016, anyone?).
According to the latest dispatches from the bookmaking wizards at DraftKings and FanDuel, the Celtics are the clear favorites with odds of 1.29 and 1.31, respectively. The Cavaliers, on the other hand, are the underdogs with odds of 3.75 and 3.6. But as any seasoned sports soothsayer will tell you, the game isn't played on paper or decided by odds alone.

The Celtics' Conundrum: A Juggernaut or a Gilded Lily?

The Boston Celtics come into this game with the swagger of a team that's been there, done that, and got the championship rings to prove it. But let's not forget that pride comes before the fall, and even Goliath can stumble when faced with a well-aimed stone.
The Celtics' roster reads like a who's who of basketball royalty, with players who can shoot the three, drive the lane, and play defense like their lives depend on it. But will their bench depth be enough to withstand the Cavaliers' onslaught? Will they be able to maintain their composure when the going gets tough, or will they crumble like a cookie in the hands of a toddler?

The Cavaliers' Quest: David's Slingshot or a Quixotic Adventure?

The Cleveland Cavaliers, bless their hearts, are the quintessential underdogs. They've got grit, they've got heart, and they've got a fan base that would follow them into the fires of Mount Doom if need be. But will that be enough to topple the Celtics' empire?
The Cavaliers' key to victory lies in their ability to play as a cohesive unit, to hit their shots with the precision of a Swiss watch, and to defend like their lives (and contracts) depend on it. They'll need to channel the spirit of their 2016 championship run and hope that the basketball gods are feeling particularly generous.

The Prediction: A Battle of Wits, Will, and Weather

Now, let's talk turkey. The game is set to take place at the Celtics' home court, where the ghosts of legends past will be cheering from the rafters. The weather, while typically a non-factor in the climate-controlled utopia of an NBA arena, could play a role in the players' journey to the stadium. A sunny day could see the Cavaliers basking in the warmth of optimism, while a stormy forecast might mirror the Celtics' thunderous approach to the game.
Taking all of this into account, along with the odds, the team stats, and the phases of the moon (just for good measure), the prediction is in. Drumroll, please...
The Boston Celtics will emerge victorious in this epic showdown. Why, you ask? Because the odds are more than just numbers; they're the distilled wisdom of countless sports oracles. The Celtics have the home-court advantage, the historical pedigree, and a roster that can turn the heat up faster than a microwave on the popcorn setting.
But fear not, Cavaliers fans, for in the grand tapestry of the NBA, every thread has its place, and your beloved team will fight with the valor of a thousand knights. They may not claim the victory this time, but they'll leave it all on the court, and that's a win in itself.
So there you have it, folks. The Celtics will reign supreme, not by the grace of the gods, but by the sweat of their brows and the strength of their skills. Mark my words, come May 13, the basketball world will bear witness to a spectacle that will be talked about for ages—or at least until the next game.
And remember, in the grand scheme of things, it's just a game—albeit one that ignites passions, fuels rivalries, and gives us an excuse to eat nachos on a weekday. Enjoy the game, and may the best team win (which, according to my infallible analysis, is the Celtics).

Round 5 deadline: Friday 10th May, 9pm GMT

Hiii I'm backkkkk! Sorry I couldn't post the last few days. The tiebreaker results were very close, but one episode gained just enough votes for it to have to leave the game. So, was it Free Pass, Happy Holiday, or Poached Guests?
...
POACHED GUESTS. With only 1 more vote than Happy Holiday, the 5th episode of series 4 has been voted out with 11 of you choosing it as your least favourite of the three. Free Pass got a lot less votes with 5, so it will stay in the game along with Happy Holiday.
Which episode will leave in round 5? Will there be another tiebreaker? It's up to youuu.

2024.05.09 16:59 coyoteproshop My near death experience

When I was 8 years old, I had a friend who lived about a mile through the woods from me, along a slate bottomed stream, filled with snakes, salamanders and crawdads.
One day in May or June, I can't exactly remember, we were helping his father clean up the area around the above ground pool in anticipation of filling it for the season (from a garden hose, it took days).
We had a tree house that was approximately 15 feet off the ground (although it felt much higher) that was professionally built by my friend's father, a 240 pound, heavily muscled, bull of a man who looked a lot like Moe from the three stooges had a baby with a lumberjack.
The year before, we had rigged some ropes to hoist up a television set for a sleep over and during the winter the ropes had become entangled with the ladder and each other.
My friend's father told us to clean up the rope, coil it and stow it back in the shed. I volunteered to go up the ladder and untie the Gordian knot that represented the best we non-boyscouts could manage re: ropecraft.
The ladder was an actual, hardware store vintage wooden affair that was securely affixed to the trunk of the tree and the lip of the tree house door. I climbed slowly up, using my hands and feet to push aside the loops of rope that had become entangled with the rungs in the stiff winter winds.
I pulled myself into the maybe 8x8 plywood floored room at the top (a move I had practiced many, many times) and stood to surveil the job at hand. There were at least 3 lines, heavily knotted with each other and tied around a large branch that was just outside the only window. I started to shake the ropes with my hands to try and figure out where they were binding, when I noticed that there was a volleyball sized beige lump encasing the area where the ropes crossed.
In the time it took my to register that this was a yellowjacket nest, I noted that my arms, torso and face were already crawling with malevolent, cheerfully colored insects, furiously stinging away.
I panicked, as one does when hundreds of yellowjackets are stinging them in the face, and made my way on hands and knees back to the ladder as fast as I could manage. The only thing I could think about was getting out of there, getting to the hose to spray the insects off of me.
Now, I was partially blinded by the swelling, groping for the exit, when I felt my right hand slip over the lip of the doorway, past the top run of the ladder. My weight carried the rest of me out the door and I began to plunge headfirst to the ground below, like I was doing a dive which was forbidden at my local pool (hands at sides, head first, for some reason we called it a Dick Van Dyke dive).
I had what felt like forever to think one thing, and one thing only. No! I plunged and plunged screaming internally that one word, No! I was certain I was about to die, at 8 years old, devastating my parents and siblings, traumatizing my friends who were milling around on the ground and burdening my friend's father with the guilt of knowing that if he hadn't asked us to get the ropes down, I would still be alive.
8 feet to go, 6 feet, 4 feet, 2 feet and ...
I felt a violent jerk on my right ankle, my fall stopped momentarily, I bounced up somehow and then plunged forehead first into the ground, crumpling scorpion style and emitting a loud wheezing sound.
And then I was swept up in the embrace of my friend's father's iron-like arms and he was sprinting, carrying me to the house (800 yards away, this was a rather rural area) shouting in a way I had never heard him shout before, telling his wife to call 911, get the car started, we'll meet it halfway. The yellowjackets had switched their ire to his chest and neck, but he didn't even notice them.
But, apart from being swollen from stings, my only injury was a sprained right ankle and a tennis ball sized goozle on my forehead.
When everything finally calmed down and it was clear I was in no mortal danger, my friend's mother put away the epi pen from her purse, handed me a wet towel stuffed with ice and collapsed into sobs.
My friend's father could not understand how I wasn't more hurt than I was, he just kept repeating, I don't believe it, I don't believe it.
Finally, my best friend said that he saw the whole thing, that my foot had caught in a loop of rope, right before I hit the ground, and that had been what spared me the brunt of the fall. The confluence of events, the unlikeliness seemed beyond belief. But even then, I knew I was just lucky, that if anything had happened differently, I would have died.
I did entertain one odd belief afterward, that has persisted to this day. What if I did die, and the afterlife is the seamless continuation of life as if I hadn't? Is there a world where I died at 8 years old? Where the town grieved this horrible accident. Where my friend's father lived the remainder of his days haunted by guilt? Where my little sister became the oldest sibling and my newborn brother would never know me?
I'm still haunted by that day. By what might have been. I felt how arbitrary the universe is at an age where I wasn't prepared for it. I'm sweating right now just thinking about it...

2024.05.09 02:20 Nargle03 Teen Skipping school, not caring about anything.

I am really desperate for someone who may have gone through this experience to reach out to and hopefully gain some insight or advice from. I have a daughter whis 15, will turn 16 the end of this year. She has always been a little difficult since she was about 7 or so, lots of lying, lots of sneaking and deceitful behavior. Even though she's had issues, she still felt remorse, responded to consequences, and would care that she messed up and try again. Most things she would spend months or even years messing up and trying again before she finally got control of it but she eventually, gradually improved and it seemed to at least bother her when she did wrong.
She is a freshman in high school this year and this year has been the worst year we've had ever. It started pretty soon into the school year that she was skipping class. For a little back story, During this, her dad and I were leading up to a custody trial where he was fighting for week on week off with my two daughters. Her dad has a history of being and alcoholic, anger issues, some mentally and emotionally hurtful behavior, and generally not being around for his custody time. It was about 2-3 years ago that he met a woman who he has now married and cleaned his life up and my kids decided they want more time with him. I fought to keep custody because I didn't trust their dad and we did not have a good relationship because of his past neglect and abusive behavior to my kids. The custody trial ended in February, he got the week on week off which starts after the school year. Since this decision, her dad and I have drastically changed out relationship. We've come together and started co parenting more smoothly, we have been much more understanding and considerate toward each other and my boyfriend and I and her dad and his wife all get along pretty well now. During all this, her dad and his wife had a new baby.
During the custody case, My daughter got ahold of her skipping issue finally after many levels of consequences and some rewards as well and had completely stopped skipping school. We were having issues with vaping and grades and her choosing friends that were not doing good things but she was at least going. With all this turmoil, her dad and I thought that she would do much better once all the dust settled which it now has. The custody is all done, she got more time with dad like she wanted, her dad and I have never had a better relationship, everything is pretty much harmonious for everyone in the family besides her.
Toward the beginning of April, my daughter started skipping school again, then started skipping whole days. I changed my schedule so I could pick her up and drop her off to school and she still would leave. I have had to take off several days from work to go looking for her. Several times I find her, drag her back to school, walk her in and then she stays for that period and leaves again. Most of the time she is going with friends to sit at the various parks around school, sometimes smoking pot, sometimes just hanging out. This is a group of kids who skip like this every single day. They have been her friends since the beginning of the school year though so it's not a sudden change of influence. The last month she has skipped almost every day, other than maybe 4-5. We've all lost work and sleep over what's happening with her. It feels different than anything before. She doesn't care about consequences or rewards, doesn't care how anyone feels or what she's costing them or how they will feel about her. She just keeps doing it. She has nothing to say whennwe ask her about it besides "I'm sorry", and "I don't know". One time she said she doesn't feel anything.
So far we've taken everything out of her room but her bed and books. We took her phone and stopped allowing any friend time. We have filed 7 juvenile out of control reports to the SRO. We decided to switch schools for next year and cut off all contact with anyone from that school. Today we decided to pull her out for the year so at least we know where she is and keep her home and she will have to repeat the semester next year. On the rewards side, we started her in a youth group and we tried to signed her up for youth group summer camp in Oregon as an incentive to stop skipping and make new better friends, we told her if she went to class the rest of the year we'd put her in a cheer program outside of school she wanted to do (she used to cheer in middle school buy wanted to switch to volleyball this year, didn't make the team, and now doesn't want to play any sports at school). We have used everything she doesn't want to detour her and everything she wants to incentivise her and she, very convincingly, acts like she's going to turn it all around and then goes to school the next day and skips. She's also started chronically lying, telling her teachers about sisters she doesn't have and telling her security team at school about jobs she's never worked and how she's getting a job she never even applied for.
It's really like she was the kid we've always known one day and the next she was someone else. We have her in counseling for years and her counselor is stumped. No one can figure out where this is coming from or why. She usually will open up to me, even if it takes a little effort, but I talk to her and I get nothing, and anything she does say is in complete contrast to her actions immediately after. We have her scheduled for a psych evaluation but I've never had that concern with her before. It's just so jarring and frustrating and extremely baffling. We have no idea what to do and no idea what we are dealing with. I go from being extremely mad at her to worried about her to dissapointed in her to believing in her to betrayed by her to exhausted by her and back to the beginning again. Has anyone dealt with something similar and what advice can you give me from your experience because we feel so powerless against this.

2024.05.07 21:57 rananana_ab Another things to do post

Hi guys, since there's no sub for Mohali, posting here. I recently moved back home from Bangalore to Mohali. Looking for gym/outdoor activity recommendations around sector 99. I've checked out powerhouse, anytime fitness and pro ultimate gym, found them too expensive, and since I practice calisthenics most of the fancy setups are no use to me. I was paying 13k for a year in Bangalore for an amazing gym and it's 26k for 6M at powerhouse and it's not even that great. Would highly appreciate sports/outdoor activities/gym recommendations from you guys Things like badminton, basketball, volleyball, cricket, swimming, combat sports, cycling clubs or something new that I can learn would also be great. Cheers!

I am travelling for the Paris Olympics (solo) and have already booked flight tickets, hotel and Olympic Tickets last year itself. Furthermore, I am honoured to have been selected by the Paris Olympics organizers to be present in the fan section, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of the event.
I have booked business-class flight tickets and accommodation for 11 nights in Paris (all non-refundable), all of which have been self-financed and paid for via my personal credit cards (Statements Attached). Thus, I have already spent more than €9,000 for the planned trip.

2024.05.04 17:29 Drujj Volleyball Primer

It is my desperate wish and biggest dream to hear Mark and Tyler talk about a sport that the states is incredibly good at, but also terribly underappreciated - Volleyball. Apart from its fast pace, easy to learn rules and high strategy value in all different positions, I just want to share the joy I had in the last year of getting to know the sport. I am not an expert and am still learning, but for someone who never particularly liked any sport volleyball has been a game changer. If I were to wish for one guest it would be Max Holt, who is not only a very experienced Blocker and has participated in many a tournament in many different leagues all over the world, he is from the motherland that has his given us Go! And Distractable Cincinnati, Ohio. Please I beg of you, wishing to see people cheer as they should for the man that have worked hard over decades to get as incredible at this sport as they are now.

2024.05.03 10:27 noobmaster69_is_loki Who I WANT eliminated

Not including NPCs.
Barcha - As much as I wish Lotoya to go home, he’s definitely staying. He shouldn’t though, give the spot to my man Lemon.
Manshine - Reo will be close to borderline, but he will make it. He’s cool anyway. Nagi on the other hand needs to fix his attitude or the next volley in his career will be volleyball.
Ubers - They all staying except bumass Fukaku. Train another player to be backup goalie.
PXG - Tokimitau fell hard. With Raichi around he not staying for long. - Shidou should be arrested. - Zantetsu needs more feats man, I’m cheering for you. - Nanase should be eliminated for shock value. - Rin is a bum but he has hax, so he’s good.
Bastard - Go back to the temple monk, please. Your ancestors need you to sweep off the dust other players left behind for you to chase. - Again, Igaguri is not funny. I’d rather bring back Isagi’s friend who missed the goal.

2024.05.03 04:01 katanddog 2,000 Names (and their meanings) For Your Baby Boy found from a Vintage Mennen Company Booklet

My mom passed along this booklet that belonged to my grandmother when we were expecting. Figured I would share it here before discarding it. The Girl Name list is already posted 😊 Enjoy!
WHAT'S IN A NAME
Don't let the meanings concern you. Think instead of how the name will fit the child, when the child is grown, or known. Choose the name with care. It's very important to your baby-all through life. Here are some guides: - Say each name aloud, along with your own family name, to check rhythm and sound. - Use soft first names with sharp-sounding family names. - Use multi-syllable first names with short family names. - Avoid using a first name that ends with the same sound that starts the last name, such as "Jane Nevins." - Avoid "famous combinations" such as "Abraham" and "Lincoln." - Watch out for initials that spell out familiar letters, like “S. O. S”

Hello fellow Beach Raids,
Today, we're going to unpack the science behind something elemental in beach volleyball (and life!). It's essential, yet often overlooked in the context of sports nutrition and performance. Yep, I'm talking about hydration. The balance between water and electrolytes has an outsized impact on your game and reaction time and often sits on the blurry peripheries of mainstream attention.
Beach volleyball often takes place under the hot sun and naturally, you sweat. A lot. That sweat isn't just water; it's a broth teeming with essential electrolytes. Sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium, to name a few. They're responsible for a variety of functions, from maintaining the balance of fluids in your body to muscle contractions and neural activity. Lose too many and what happens? Cramps. Fatigue. Diminished reflexes. Sound like a game you'd want to play? Didn't think so.
Firstly, let's get real about water intake. According to the American College of Sports Medicine, drinking around 500ml to 600ml of water two hours prior to the game can help you stay hydrated in general.
Smaller, frequent sips of water are your best bet, as opposed to gulping down large amounts infrequently. Prevents bloating and unnecessary water breaks! Perfect!
But straight water isn't enough when you're sweating buckets.
Ideally, you want to aim for electrolyte-infused water, or make your own by adding a pinch of good quality sea or Himalayan pink salt to your water bottle. This, in combination with eating potassium and magnesium-rich foods an hour or two before the game (think bananas, oranges, yogurt), will help keep your electrolyte balance on par.
Hydration isn't a one-size-fits-all prescription. Different bodies require different amounts. The moderate consensus is to consume about 1.5 to 2.5 liters of water throughout the day, but always listen to your body.
Good hydration isn't about drowning yourself in water; it's about balance. Salt and water. Like a perfect beach volleyball game.
Stay hydrated, play better!
Cheers to your next game,
The Sand Scientist.
