This may sound like a high school drama because it is 💀. I (16F) have a classmate named Cassandra, we don't interact much and she is part of Riley's friend group. Riley's group kinda consists of nine girls and she's one of them, she's pretty close to them and I've been pretty neutral towards her. Until one day when my friends, Melissa and Doug decided to go to the mall, Cassandra wanted to come so we allowed her but one of her friends told us to be cautious of her because she guilt trips people into giving her money. From that moment I have grown suspicious of her, and it just began to get worse when I managed to be in a group activity with some of her friends and they told me about how she was taking advantage of them. However I was fine with my suspicions since she wasn't interacting with me and my friends.
Then one day, she sat beside my friend Melissa and Doug. And I don't know the term (English is not my first language sorry) but it's that moment when someone is trying to get close to you? The thing is that she's trying to fit in with us but it's just not working because we have nothing in common with her, being academically may be a start but man she's like absent for like 75% of the school year and never attends any of her group practices (I know this because there were many times that I was grouped with her).
And honestly I knew that she was trying to get close to us because Riley's friend group can see through her bullshit already, so she's obviously hopping on another ship to save herself from sinking I suppose. I didn't like it so my petty teenager ass decided to post an Facebook My Day post where she is the only one that can see it, the post was a TikTok video stating "POV: That one person that keeps following your friend group everywhere in school", and honestly it's very true to what she's doing because she follows us around ALL the time and speaks like once in a blue moon.
She saw the post and chatted me "Is this post about me?" and said that if I had a problem with her then I should say it, I then replied to her saying that I'm just confused on why she's being close with us now since she's usually with Riley's friend group and I dont want her friend group (that cheats on exams all the time, birds of feather flock together I guess) that we're stealing her or something. She then explained that it's not the case and she just has a misunderstanding with them and stuff. I then replied that, it was good that she was assuring that her friend group won't think that we are stealing her or something and she can definitely make new friends with other classmates.

I'm reflecting a bit now and I have this braincell telling me that I'm an asshole for not making her part of our friend group but there's this other braincell that doesn't have any people pleasing qualities, telling me that the people I want to be associated with should be my choice and I honestly don't want to be associated of taking in another classmate, because her friend group doesn't like her anymore, also its good that I'm keeping her away because I want to make sure that my friends wouldn't be taken advantage of. So my family has been managing my tanks while I’ve been far away for school and is doing a great job. Ammonia/nitrates get tested semi regularly, while other parameters are deemed less important and thus usually not tested in respect of their time.
I was curious where pH has been at so my bro just did a test. When I left pH was 7.8…. Now apparently 8.2- but tds only 231 o__O;
We use distilled water mixed with salty shrimp for the water because of the liquid rock that is our local water supply. This would target a kH/gH of about 3/6 assuming used as instructed and a neutral pH. The tank uses natural materials - pagoda stone, pond soil/aquasoil, black sand… so obviously something isn’t adding up 😅. I may request kH/gH tested sometime but given the tds is about right, I can’t imagine it’s far off the mark.
This leaves me with two variables… Plants… And the fact the pH kit might uh be 2 years old.
I’ll be sending a new pH kit soon just to sanity check. But I’m just curious if photosynthesizing plants could raise the pH that far. Not worried about the fish as everyone is thriving! Just please weigh in on my aquarium science

So l'm a senior undergrad student and l'm supposed to graduate and walk May 24th, however I do have one class I did not pass last semester and l'm absolutely terrible for not noticing that until recently. However I have already received an acceptance letter in March from another school for a masters program and they have seen my unofficial transcript (including the class I failed). I am an international student which I am told that my old I-20 will expire 5/24 (day of graduation) and receive a new one from my new school starting 5/25, but knowing I have one failed class and potentially needing to extend my graduation and take a summer course plus the I-20 thingy I'm completely lost to what I should do. Someone help!!

I am doing my online new student orientation modules and every time I reach step 14 of Academics, I select my school and it completely lags out and goes to step undefined or undefined and I have to start the whole academics section again. I have restarted it about 4 times already and it still isn’t working. What do I do?

I want to start of my rant by saying this to the people who doesn't already know the fact that there is going to be changes on the ap phy courses and the exams for 24-25 (school year). Mechanics exam changes: Mcq 35q->40q Time given for mcq 45m->80m (ALMOST 2 TIMES) Mcq opt5->4 (Less text, bit less complicated) Frq 3q->4q (new q types but no one cares) time given for Frq 45m->100m(MORE THAN 2 TIMES) So time per Mcq77s->120s(around 1.5 times) Time per opt15s->30s(essentially 2 times the time for same amount of text) Time per Frq15m->25m(around 1.6 times) What do we get from this? They made the exam less complex and longer so why the fuck is it not already like this? There is no fundamental changes done (expt for frq q types) and only thing that made me and everyone in my classroom do bad on the Mcq was time management, like okay make the exam short it doesn't have to be long for it to be a good exam anyways but if you do make it longer. WHY PUT WALLS OF TEXT. What are they trying to test man, genuinely? Even if you know everything you are not going to be able to have time for every question anyways. If your plane's leader turns into a dictator, Naya will be the first to rebel against them. While an individualist, he can fight together with others if that means achieving his purpose. Then she's got too many beers and falls asleep... but Uncle Abzan, on the other hand, doesn't fall asleep. He agrees with what Selesnya's saying but unlike her, he's got the power and the ambition to change society according to his views. Abzan is making a webpage. Abzan's gathering followers. Abzan appeals to those in society who think like him. Abzan's creating a cult. Abzan takes control. It will take years, as Abzan's conservativism will not want sudden change. He's not Izzet, for fuck's sake, right? It will take years. But he'll manage it. Media examples: Logan Roy, Nurgle
  
• Sultai (BGU) - Sultai looks at the world with disgust. To alleviate some of it, he starts eating a banana. But... it lacks something. A bit more... je ne sais quoi, a bit more... more! He'll know it when he'll feel it. But how to modify that banana to be what Sultai wants it to be? Well, he'll enslave a village, use the villagers' blood in an arcane experiment, and create the perfect banana. If Sultai believes something can be improved, he'll do it at any cost. • Temur (GUR) - Temur is the dashing wilderness explorer, going where no man (or elf... or dragon) has ever gone. He's curious, courageous, clever, and comely. So many C's, he makes Kozilek envious. Temur feels at home both in a lab and in a bear cave. He's not afraid of pushing boundaries but he's mostly well-meaning. Media examples: Indiana Jones, Lara Croft, Reed Richards.
  
• Jeskai (URW) - You're a young kid whose ass was kicked by some punks. You want to never have to experience something like this ever again. Thus, you want to train, both your body and your mind. Here comes Jeskai-san. He's wise. He's seen things. He's done things. He trains you. He's an asshole. He makes you wipe the floorboards. You see no sense in it. But when the time comes for you to wipe the board, who better than someone versed in Jeskai's ways to do so? Media examples: Miyagi-san, Hank McCoy

I think the first time this happened was when there was this new kid at my high school, extraordinarily smart but super humble about everything he was capable of. Was very random but funny. Pretty reserved. I kind of wanted to protect him, don't know if that's weird. Somewhere along the way, I developed a crush on him but would always avoid him/treat him like I do with everyone else to focus on schoolwork. Towards the end of the year, I found out that he liked me too. One time I saw him staring at me, like stood a few metres in front of my desk just staring at my head, I looked at his eyes for a split second and he didn't look away. Might have been staring through me, probably zoning out. His seat was right behind mine to the right, so maybe he was staring at that from the angle he was standing? Idk. Anyway, my friend noticed and I had to pretend that didn't just happen.
When he first came in, I scored a bit more than him and he started putting in effort to one up me and cheered for himself when he overtook my score lol. I think he wanted me to compete but I was pretty depressed at the time and had no competitive bone in my body so I just gave up and I think he was disappointed when I let him win so easily. He was really shy when I talked to him one on one but he was shy with girls in general. Idk why I'm describing his personality but yeah he was kind of a goofy oddball. He didn't use social media either. Other guys would approach me a bit loudly having something to say about him until he ran over to intervene to shut them up. So I could never really know how he really felt, he never really outright said anything except when I left school and he randomly called out for me for some reason. I pretended like I didn't hear it😭😭😭 it was in public.
The second time was in college but this was more platonic. He just kept trying to initiate a conversation with me but idk my social anxiety just ramped up, and it was awkward. He was super chill though.
Third time was online, pretty recently. I talked to someone on discord and there was this one person in a groupchat who I found to be super insightful, like our brains just collided or something and he said something about how we're so similar. He was also very good with his words. I'm so in awe of all their minds, I will steal their brains fr.
In general, I think I attract people who are different in some way, loner types, depressed people or some who look like they need a hug, in both men and women. There was this super sweet girl my age at church who always used to sit next to me, pinch my hands for 20 minutes in the middle of the sermon because she thought they were unusually soft lol and approach me to have conversations, we both were 6 or 7, don't know if she's autistic but she had a developmental disorder.
Teachers pair me with the shy kids, always. I'm legit so quiet and awkward, I don't know what teachers see in me. But I somehow always become friends with them. My closest friends aren't autistic but we're all going through something or have some childhood trauma.
So yeah, I want to know why this keeps happing in my normal and romantic life. What do they see in me? What do teachers see in me?

Hi again! We're moving in July, my husband will be working AT the airport. We aren't sure yet if we're going to have a chance to make it to Pittsburgh to check our our area before July so just trying to narrow down our home search as much as I can.
I was feeling pretty confident I wanted to live in Mt Lebanon, USC, or Bethel Park, but my husband wants to consider some places closer to the airport after talking to some of his new coworkers.
Can you guys tell me about Moon Township SD and West Allegheny SD? Schools are a top priority, particularly a really good SPED department. But I also liked that the other areas sounded like they had a great community, were walkable, close to the city. What are the vibes closer to the airport? It looks like it's not as cute, but do people generally like those areas?

Top priorities: -great schools -houses 400k or less (3-4 bedroom) -nice community (community events, young families to meet, parks, etc) -within 30 minutes of the airport (closer the better) but this is the one we're willing to sacrifice as long as the commute isn't awful.

My 5 year old daughter will be in kindergarten. She is autistic, which for her manifests as a little bit of speech development issues (she talks A LOT but is working with an SLP to help her use all those words for more effective communication), and some rigidity/frustration tolerance issues that results in occasional emotional regulation issues (and, sometimes, a meltdown or two). But she's improved a lot in communication and emotional regulation (before it gets to the meltdown level) in the last 1.5 years she's been going to her current preschool, which makes me so happy for her. I know she LOVES other kids and always is trying to make new friends, and whatever support I can offer her to achieve those goals I'll do.
Now, for kindergarten next year I have the choice of either sending her to my local public school (a good one, I hear) or keeping her at her current school for one more year since they do have a kindergarten class in addition to their preschool classes. I did choose to stay where we are, because where on one hand the public school would have more extension and formalized supports for her neurodivergence, the current school has a WAY smaller kid to adult ration (22-1 at the public school, 6-1 at most at the current school). Plus the current school is our little community that we already know and love. Plus, I feel like the current school handles interpersonal issues (like bullying) way more effective because there's simply more adults around to help put a lid on those things, whereas I know public school teachers are just juggling so much more on their plate that maybe they have to triage social issues on severity. And I mean, with my daughter being ND (smart and very social, but might come off a bit odd to kids her age as she gets older) I do have a real fear of possible bullying.
But my problem is this: staying at the current school sometimes feels like the complete no brainer, but I wonder if I'm denying my child the chance to learn and grow in a bigger, more complex environment. Maybe she would actually do really well? Maybe being around a bigger, less-insular group of kids would ultimately be a positive?
I don't know, there's also an issue that her current school involves a pretty significant volunteer obligation, which I find exhausting to balance on top of the fact that I do still work my day job (which is very understanding that I need to sometimes flex my schedule to volunteer at the school, but waking up before dawn to start working because my kids school is only 4 hours a day, rather than the public school's 6 hours). I don't want to feel like I'm putting my daughter in a less supportive environment if all I have to do is push through the exhaustion I deal with for JUST ONE MORE YEAR.
Plus there's the fear that I'll lose our social circle if we leave the current school.

She didn’t let me choose the makeup artist, she booked one already for me, and even paid her in advance. somehow everything went well and i liked the outcome. i never had any rift with her, i really liked her.
after the engagement my husband and i went on a lunch date, she saw me and pat on my belly and said i should lose fat, bitch? i’m nowhere near fat, it was something like periods belly
My wedding was in august 2023. between april and august, this is where i see her true colours. Meantime she became close with her son’s best friend ( who is actually his gf but he brought her home saying she’s just a friend and the girl(let’s call her kat) was trying so hard to win her)

1. around may, i was asked to come to her city because my mil and kat booked a dance workshop, my mil thought i wouldn’t dance well, im a dancer since school days and i never told anyone, at the workshop i danced so well but my mil never complimented me, she was only complimenting kat. 😭
2. around june, mil randomly calls me and tells me that she bought a outfit for my pre wedding ceremonies ( haldi and cocktail) i was like ??? um without ny presence, she kept saying that it’s so pretty and i’ll love it. since my engagement saree pretty and she chose it, i thought maybe she wouldn’t do something bad
3. when i saw the haldi outfit, it was literally a disaster, the neck was deep, the shoulders were falling off, it was ugly overall. my cocktail outfit she chose looked like something grandmas would wear on funeral.
4. somehow i made last minute changes and changed my cocktail outfit, still wasn’t the best.
5. what made me upset was, my mil and kats outfit were the best in the ceremony, idk why she chose the ugliest one for me and chose the best one for me, it really gave me a bad feeling about this woman.

my biggest question is “will she be okay if it was her outfit or her accessories”. i hated my wedding pictures, i get anxious everytime i see them, everytime i tell my husband, he gets mad that im always complaining about his mom, but no one sees that i got hurt
after the wedding: mostly in indian cultures , the daughter in law has to live with the husbands family. i absolutely hated every minute of it, they criticised the shit outta me.
to my surprise, my mother in law and father in law live seperately in the same area, their houses are 8 mins away from each other.
in my mother in laws house, there’s this new guy ( whom my husband and BIL calls uncle) this uncle(43years old) is an un married, alcoholic guy who passes shit comments about random women. body shames woman while watching a tv show, or when we go out. i hated his behaviour.
you might think this guy is my mil’s own brother, or a cousin or somehow a relative. none of it. he’s just a random someone who’s living full time in this house.
i wouldn’t have given a fuck if no one bothered me. but this uncle mocks me everytime i dress up, do my makeup. when he sees me cooking and he criticises me. when he sees me doing anything in the world, he criticises me. mocks me , my mil , bil and this bastard laugh together.
i felt kinda off since she’s keeping this as a secret from her husband, my fil doesn’t know he’s staying with her full time, for my mils bday this uncle got her a diamond ring , which she hid from her husband, she showed the gifts from me, her sons and her mom but hid the gift from uncle.
he got her a dyson ( which is whole another story, i told my husband i wanted dyson for my birthday, i also mentioned the color blue since it’s available in india, i guess my husband has the habit of telling her everything, just before my bday she went and bought the blue dyson air wrap) and didn’t even tell my husband / her husband. l randomly spilled it to my husband since she wanted it to be a secret. i did it intentionally.
one random day i was checking pinterest i check the messages where i saw a old message i sent to her profile , like a hi or something.. i went to her profile, i saw a board where she saved all the quotes like “you stroke me in places where my hands cannot reach” all such sexy quotes, she also has another board where she saved good morning pics that she usually sends to me and my family.
at this point im only speculating, i cannot let a random outsider mock me, also my fil is a very good person, keeping things from him and forcing me to act accordingly is also annoying to me
she’s always been all about appearances, my father in law is shorter than her, kinda fat. also looks old but he’s very rich. maybe that’s why they live separately since she doesn’t like to be seen together with my fil, i’m saying she all about appearances because she only talks to people who look pretty, in my wedding , people from my dads side kinda don’t dress well but they’re good people, she didn’t even wanna shake hands or smile at them when i introduced her to my family. one of my friends was kinda fat and dark, she didn’t even talk to her but she went and took pictures with my other two friends who looked slim and fair.
one time she introduced me to her zumba class friends as “sisters daughter” and without any shame asks me to call her mom since we met. i will never call her mom.
one time it got so much i couldn’t handle and i called my husband and cried about it, my mother in law said they were all just joking and i took everything seriously.
i cannot understand how a literal outsider was given so much power to hurt their daughter in law, and when confronted they support him. he once mocked me for my makeup and i didn’t even respond to him, he texted me saying “hope ur not upset, i did just for fun” this is not a apology
on top of it so many times my mil has come in between me and my husband, since me and my husband are doing a long distance relationship, he comes to india for 2 weeks breaks, ever since we got married in august, we’ve only spend 56 days together. so this time due to olympics he’s getting one month off and we planned a japan trip. my mil immediately said she would also join and said we can go to dubai.
i had to explain my husband how this is not okay since we only had 56 days together and having a family trip is not okay, he somehow explained her and changed the plan to bali. but she was still upset.
even while we’re planning the trip, she asks my husband to send the itinerary, wants to know every detail from the hotel we’re staying to places we’re gonna go
the list goes on, i’ll edit things when something pops up in my head, i got so exhausted from just typing out few things that happened in a span of 8 months
also my husband and i are waiting for the visa, im giving this marriage one last chance, im hoping things will be better if i live alone with him.

Then, out of nowhere, I’ll just break up with them. Usually when we are about to take the relationship to the next level. The first time, I had signed a lease with my ex and then broke up with him two days before we were supposed to move in. Another time, my ex had just asked my mom for permission to propose to me. Then I start to devalue them and basically split. I become very cruel and all the love I had turns to hate for them. And somehow I’ll make it seem like it was them and I’ll find a reason that seems valid enough to make them the villain in my head. Then I’ll go into a manic episode where I’m extremely social, extremely sexual with no protections, extremely confident to the point people have called me cocky and self centered. I’ll usually quit school or a job or move away entirely. Then , I’ll find a new partner and believe that we are meant to be together. And they become my favorite person and the cycle starts all over again.
This has happened three times so far and I’ve just started treatments yesterday. So I’ve never noticed the pattern until now. If anyone else has both, do you experience something similar?

So I’m a senior at sjsu and I’m supposed to graduate and walk May 24th, however I do have one GE: R class I did not pass last semester and I’m absolutely terrible for not noticing that until recently. However I have already received an acceptance letter in March from another school for a masters program and they have seen my unofficial transcript (including the class I failed). I am also an international student which I am told that my old I-20 will expire 5/24 (day of graduation) and receive a new one from my new school starting 5/25, but knowing I have one failed class and potentially needing to extend my graduation and take a summer course plus the I-20 thingy I’m completely lost to what I should do. Someone help!!

So ever since I’ve started running, I have saved every pair of of running shoes I’ve used from 8th grade, through high school and college, all the way to today. More pairs than I care to count. I always thought I’d do something cool with them, what that is I don’t know. I know people have taken their old team & meet shirts and made a quilt, but not really possible with 30 pairs of shoes lol.
Well, I’m moving out at the end of the week and don’t really have a good way to store them at my new place, so if anyone has any good ideas as to what they did with their old trainers, I’d love to hear it. Can be as creative or simple as possible. I’ll probably just end up throwing them out, but it pains me just writing that thought down, tens of thousands of miles of memories are stored in these shoes. I’d hate to lose them.
