Tempurpedic Differences

2024.05.14 04:20 Legitimate_Bowl_8472 Tempurpedic Differences

Hey Guys,
Been working on getting the best possible price I can on two different tempurpedic models.
Basically I’ve got the ProSense 2.0 offered at &3250+tax CAD with free delivery and cooling mattress topper from a local shop
Problem is my girlfriend likes the ProSense more because the hybrid doesn’t feel right. Could probably get for around $2500.
At Sleep Country, I’ve got the ProAdapt 2.0 for 3450+tax including topper and 2 pillows.
I’m wondering what the biggest differences between the ProAdapt 2.0 and ProSense are, and would appreciate guidance as to the better move.
For reference, 2 side sleepers, I’m a male 6’3 230lbs, she’s 5’4 115 lbs. We both sleep really hot.

2024.05.14 03:21 johnniechang Trying Mattress Topper in Person?

Looking for a department store to try a non-latex mattress topper - preferably down, 5-inch hotel style, but memory foam is okay to consider as well. Anyone have a good recommendation? I'm trying not to lose a whole day lost in emquartier or central world looking haha.
Not IKEA as I would call their bedding or pillows just functional, YMMV.
Stayed in a Marriott for three weeks and they roundabout declined to quote me on the mattress topper, despite them nicely giving me the in house contact.
I've gotten sheets (not mattress topper) from Pasaya (Bazics 800) in Paragon which are quite excellent and among the best I've had in the price range. Tried Santas which also excellent but price was above what I thought was worth it.
Budget, well anywhere from 4K to 6K for the right one. 8k if it's actually hotel quality.
Thanks and happy sheep counting to all!

2024.05.13 22:29 catkingestheim Best van with fold flat seats?

I'm about to buy my first vehicle! My main goals for a car is to have a reliable vehicle that won't cost a fortune in repairs, and for it to have enough space for me to fit a mattress in the back. I really really want a vehicle that I can sleep in with my partner and our cat for camping trips.
Originally I was thinking of a Dodge Grand caravan, since it has stow n go seats that fold flat into the floor. But my brother keeps telling me they're unreliable and cost a lot to fix. However I haven't seen anything else within my price range that has this feature ( or something similar). Any ideas?
My price range is $25,000 CAD max. I'm hoping to buy something used though!

2024.05.13 14:51 Illustrious-Side-515 I wanted to buy shirts at a festival, ended up smoking something unknown with strangers

Super strange dream I just had, oddly realistic. Had to write it down quick before I forget the details.
I was wandering aimlessly at a festival in my city, I had nothing to do that day and there were fireworks.
I was the only one at work who didn't have anyone else to go to this thing so I thought I might as well instead of going straight home after work.
I saw a small shop next to shacks on the beach. The sign outside said they sold shirts with prints. I step inside, and see 5 teens sitting on a mattress on the floor, on a corner of the store chilling, surrounded by racks of shirts of many colors and prints.
I asked for the price and was told that they only sold in bulk. I asked for the price in bulk again, was told they weren't selling that atm. What is it do you sell then? They all laughed and asked if I found the place from the Facebook post. I nodded along not wanting to let it be know I wandered there aimlessly.
They were friendly and had me sit. I saw them smoke something from a bong. I have only done it once before, but I did not mention this until I was given it.
I asked if it was cannabis and they laughed. They mentioned a plant that I have never heard before in my life, and I woke up to look it up in Google to see if it exists, I think it doesn't.
They said it was "Yaquico". I have never heard of this word before.
I got nervous and asked what kind of thing it was? Hallucinogen? Dissociative? Deliriant? They could not give me a straight answer, they just said it got your mind wandering or something.
The last thing I remember was thinking how much of an idiot I was, and that I was probably drugged to be robbed and would wake up next to a road without pants or money.
But I woke up, and I have been writing this down before I forget it.

2024.05.13 07:29 maconomist Is this Custom Comfort Aspen mattress worth the price compared to Avocado?

In the market for a medium-to-plush queen mattress in the Los Angeles area that I can test in store for a side sleeper (~110 lbs)and a stomach sleeper (~140 lbs). My criteria is coil+latex or coil+high density foam, simple and durable construction (no gimmicks), reasonable quality for price, hypoallergenic, at least 10 years life span, and <$2k budget but will stretch if there's a significant improvement to quality and durability.
We really liked this double-sided Aspen mattress with a detachable 4" topper from a local mattress maker, but at ~$3k the cost is a stretch: https://customcomfortmattress.com/product/aspen-mattress/
Very close second, we also liked Avocado Medium Pillow-Top, which is closer to budget, but is one-sided and the pillow-top is not detachable, so likely less longevity if the top goes bad.
The other slightly cheaper options we looked at and liked were the Nest Owl (replaceable pillow-top insert is a plus), Helix Midnight Luxe and the WinkBed Luxury Firm. Last two use cheaper foams instead of latex.
Is it worth stretching our budget for the double-sided Custom Comfort mattress? Will the construction and quality, plus being double-sided make it worth the investment? Or do the "all natural" materials of the Avocado make that a better choice?

2024.05.13 03:51 sirotan88 Natural nightstand update

Natural nightstand update
We recently purchased the Thuma king bed in natural and were struggling a bit with nightstands (didn’t want to spend $1000 on them). Well, we found a set that kinda matches, from Target for only $350 after tax!
The height of the nightstand and color were very difficult to match with our bed. We have a tall mattress so the bed height is at around 27”, and a lot of nightstands (including the Thuma one) only has a 20” height. Color wise, this isn’t a perfect match but is about 80% there… you can see the online product photos show a much lighter wood color. Also, one set of the drawer doors is a shade darker than the other set so quality control is pretty bad (and overall quality of the product is pretty cheap particle board.) But for the price I think I can live with it.

2024.05.13 00:02 typetew Upholstered Bedframe for Latex Mattress

I'm in the market for a slatted bed frame and upholstered headboard for my 10" latex mattress. Preferably upholstered but I'm also willing to consider something that sits flush with the mattress on all sides.
Aside from the Zinus brand, which I'm reading reports of bed bugs in the upholstered products(!?), I'm seeing frames from KD Frames and Ironwood Frames in my <$600 price range, are there any other options I'm missing that are good quality?

2024.05.12 19:56 AutoModerator Memorial Day Mattress Sales

Memorial Day is right around the corner, and I think it’s time we start sharing some insights on the best Memorial Day mattress sales for this year.
Needless to say, we all love to sleep here, and some of you here know A LOT about mattresses... especially where to get the best Memorial Day mattress deals! That’s a fact. I mean, I've seen a lot of mattress deals around already, (Reddit Ads), but we all know there's always something new, especially during big sales events like Memorial Day.
This is one of the biggest sales events though!
I'm pretty sure there are a lot of users just hanging around, looking for mattress deals these days. I mean, who am I to judge, I'd rather help instead. At the end of the day, we all want to get the best deals for whatever we're buying, right?
So, let's break down the ins and outs of this year's Memorial Day mattress sale event.

What are the best Memorial Day mattress sales?

In case you had NO IDEA when Memorial Day mattress sales start, typically, you'll start seeing ads popping up a week or two before May.
FYI, brands have to change the promotion every now and then, as there are regulations that suggest that if an item is on sale for the same price for an extended period of time, it is deemed the regular price and can face advertising fines for misleading advertising.
Most brands like to get a jump on their competition. So... usually, by the time the Memorial Day weekend mattress sale hits, mattress offers will be out in full swing.
During the mattress sales Memorial Day period, almost every brand will claim they have the best mattress sales Memorial Day deals. But, don't just get any mattress because it was "CHEAP", always get a mattress that is right for you.
I mean, while the sales are great, the goal is to find a comfy and supportive mattress. So, even though the Memorial Day sale on mattresses is good, the best deal you can get is a good night's sleep.
Here's a guide on how to look and find the best mattress for you.
https://www.reddit.com/MattressAdvisory/comments/1as9byd/how_to_look_for_and_find_the_best_mattress_fo
Anyway.
While you're at it, you might want to look for mattress deals that offer not just discounts but also free stuff like pillows, mattress protectors, or extended trials. Extras are what make deals GREAT, particularly during Memorial Day sales mattress events.
There's not much more to say.
Is Memorial Day a good time to buy a mattress? Yes, it is. Who has the best Memorial Day mattress sales? I don't know, that's why I'm asking.
Last piece of advice.
Most brands are looking to clear out old stock before the mid-year influx of new models, which is why I mentioned that the Memorial Day mattress deals can be some of the best deals you'll see in a year.
But, again... it's not just about finding the best mattress Memorial Day sale; it's about finding the right sale. Also, there's nothing wrong and I have never had an issue with an overstock mattress. Overstock does not equal to crappy, it just means that they have a lot of them... lol
I would suggest keeping an eye out for all online Memorial Day sale mattress events, as they might even have better mattress deals on Memorial Day.
So... what deals have you spotted? Let's share our experiences and tips to make the most out of the Memorial Day sales on mattresses.

2024.05.12 04:00 CantFind4Name OrthoMattress vs Tempurpedic

Our current mattress is getting old & soft, so the wife and I went and tested some mattresses. Our two favorites were the Compel Firm from OrthoMattress and the Tempur-Pedic ProAdapt Firm. From some brief searching, Ortho doesn't seem to be as populacommon, so details on that mattress are here: https://www.orthomattress.com/products/compel-firm?variant=43184662905081
Any thoughts or feedback on these two? I slightly preferred the Tempur-Pedic, while my wife's preference was for the Compel -- she's a stomach sleeper & I'm a back sleeper. The TP is also at the high end of our price range (want a Cal King), so based on our liking those two, would also be open to recommendations for others. It seems like there are a lot more mattress companies these days so hard to try them all.
Thanks!

2024.05.12 02:45 bqirl Could I use 1” memory foam pads for sound insulation?

Hey, I recently moved and am often woken up by my neighbors as early as 6am every day of the week. Which wouldn’t be annoying majority of the time (bc already have to wake up early) but during the weekend, it sucks. So I want to know of if I got a 1” mattress topper and adhere it to the wall, would that work for sound insulation in an apartment? Like what if I just adhere it to the wall, would that work to help cut down the sound?
I know I can find the felt sound insulation decals already designed for this purpose, but the style I like is out of my price range so I’m hoping to DIY some. The memory foam mattress topper that is super thin is like $15 bucks at target. I was thinking I could spray glue some nice patterned/textured fabric for aesthetic.
TYIA!
