Stress Test
We will be holding a Stress Test on Saturday, June 1st, 2024 at 1pm Eastern.

• It will run for 4 hours, ending at 5pm Eastern.
• If we run into stability issues, we'll either immediately patch the game or, if absolutely necessary, end the playtest (with the hopes of running one at the same time the next day, or a later date if absolutely needed)
• Players will be using Fresh Characters in order to test new Combat Balance and Experience Rates. Your old characters still exist and may be used again in later tests.
• Early in the test, we may be limiting characters to only the Night Harbor zone, but we will bring other zones online as soon as Stress Test data is collected.
• **Disclaimer: **This is a Technical Stress Test, and some in progress work may not be as polished as in the upcoming weekend Playtest. There is also the possibility of some lag and other stability issues.

We will be holding a Weekend Playtest starting on Friday, June 28th, 2024 at 1pm Eastern.

So the time has come to find an alternative solution to my growing debt. I have been with my partner for the last 5 years and operated as dual income the entire stretch. Do to a combination of layoffs, reduction in income etc we have gradually slipped further and further in debt. Before the income loss we were successfully making aggressive progress following the avalanche method. However due to mistakes on my end that relationship may come to an end, and the split financial progress with it. I have intentionally put and debts except her vehicle and a rent payment from when I was laid off into my name. At this time I face approximately 32,0000 in credit and personal loan debt + 9k remaining on my vehicle. With this I face 1900/mo in cc/loan payments. Income being approximately 3720 and rent being 1600, I will not be able to keep afloat and will need to move as well. My lease renewed in March and tomorrow I'm going to inquire with my landlord about what they are open to with changing the terms/termination of lease. At this point the only way I can see myself staying afloat would be to be free of the debt that I won't be able to overcome alone in the foreseeable future.
I'm reading about my states options but am honestly very psychologically on top of financially overwhelmed and am mostly looking for direction and guidance.

This has been such a positive Reddit community and we have been reading as many posts as we can each day since welcoming our son very unexpectedly (and unexplained) in March.
We have a 30 weeker who’s now at 37 weeks. We are trending overall in the right direction but are just exhausted, frustrated, and feeling like there’s no end in sight. Rationally we know he will be out eventually, but the finish line just seems so far away and each trip to the hospital feels like a greater burden than the day before. Leaving him behind each day feels even worse.
I’ve seen a lot of parents say they went to therapy and I’d love to know what you learned? My wife and I are both feeling anger, jealousy, resentment, guilt, sadness, frustration, and grief over this whole process. We had a COVID wedding, had to conceive with IVF, and now this NICU stay for the birth of our first child and it just doesn’t feel “fair”, as childish as that sounds. No one deserves this and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.
Would love to learn any coping techniques if anyone has them to share. Thank you and thinking of you all.

The body was found on March 4th according to the DE wiki, and K says it's been up for seven days straight, and so that makes Monday the 11th. R's journal says Harry arrived on Friday, which would then be the 8th.
However, R's journal also includes reference to the 15th (Friday/ Day 5 in-game), saying "M" is mentioned on March 9th and 15th. But after you read the entry of the 9th, it then says that the second M mention is on the 12th, whereupon R says she has been holed up for 3 days, having run off on Friday. Which means that the 15th must have been a typo.
(At the end of the journal, it says that the final entry is from 'today'. But that could be the 15th or the 16th or the 17th, etc, since there's nothing that says we have to trigger it on that day. So in that sense, there's no definitive date upon which we find her, and 'today' is meaningless.)

basically whenever im home from college i get really lonely and sad and since i <3 sinjin drowning and they always make me feel better i thought it might be fun to watch every single one of their videos and rank them! this is currently a work in progress (as of this post i am in march 2020) but eventually the goal is to have all of their videos and then to sort them by the rank (S through F)(there are no Fs) and by category (like what game they are playing)! also im planning on making a playlist that includes every video that i ranked A- and above.
i thought some people might find this interesting/maybe helpful if you're looking for an older video? also this could def serve as a template for you to do the same thing if you just make a copy & delete my rankings and notes.

I live in England!
I recently got an energy bill of 5134.40 for the month.
So, for some context, I live in a house 6 including me. We called ScottishPower in march because our bills seemed quite high. Then, we realised we haven't been giving our metre readings for quite a while, and they were going on estimates. So our metre readings were being read as (for example) 40345.034 instead of 4034.5034. So we updated them, and realised all this time they have been expecting 5 digits instead of the 4 we always have.
And then during April an employee from ScottishPower came in and took our metre readings, but I believe he might have done it wrong as we got a bill 5000 the next month? We did not send our metre readings in april, and for may we said the bill was wrong. However, the employee we called kept insisting it was right, but she did start an investigation on our account.
However, nearly a week-ish later now the bill is still on our account. I'm really unsure on what to do here, could anyone help me? I realise it is our fault for not giving metre readings, but I'm really baffled on why it tipped to 5000, when no one in this house uses that much gas, or electricity.

I read on multiple websites that theres 2 swear ins you have to do, one for delayed entry program, and one for active duty, is this true? I took the oath on march 7th and signed my enlistment contract but I am missing the final page. My shipping date is august 5th. Im really confused and worried I will not be able to withdraw from the DEP. someone please help answer my question! Do I need to sign any papers to withdraw from the DEP? I called someone from the official navy website and she says that since i swore in at MEPS there is a chance I will NOT be able to back out of my contract. I already told my recruiter and a navy station commander that I no longer had interest in serving the military although they did not give me any paper work to sign.

I am growing some flowers to have beautiful cut flowers for my own pleasure. This is a first for me, I am so new to this. I grew what I have from seeds. I have zinnias, dahlias and sweet alyssum along with some bells of Ireland in various containers. A lot of my zinnias germinated, but I have only one dahlia that grew! They are now in containers outdoors after being started inside from seed late March & planted outside late April. I hardened them off and try to go by everything I’ve read. Two of my zinnias however look very yellow & the leaves aren’t smooth. I’ve also attached my only dahlia as it seems to have stunted since I pinched it back a week or so ago. It’s growing new shoots, but it hasn’t gotten any taller at all. Please, any advice or input is welcome!

Hello Reddit. Below is a one-shot designed for four level 8 characters. I would expect this to take approximately 2 sessions of a few hours (roughly 6 hours in total) to run through in its entirety. Your mileage may vary depending on how quickly your table handles combat.

Here's a quick adventure overview:
This is a combat focused adventure that takes place on an unnaturally frozen lake outside the mountain town of Maul, though it could be set on any lake of your choosing.
The players are tasked with killing a Frost Giant named Tirrog who has recently descended from nearby mountains. With the aid of a white dragon, he has frozen the lake and created an icy palace atop it.
The players must survive a series of challenging encounters before confronting Tirrog and his enslaved white dragon beneath his palace. After successfully ending the threat, the players will be rewarded with the favor of Maul’s residents.

Some additional context just for the Dungeon Master:
· Tirrog, the Frost Giant, was cast out of his clan after losing a duel with his father.
· He stole a Young Adult White Dragon named Bymraynyl and used her power to freeze a nearby lake and construct an icy palace.
· Tirrog resides in a cavern beneath the palace, awaiting the challenge of Maul’s mightiest warriors, hoping to regain his clan’s favor by winning.
· Bymraynyl, the white dragon, is imprisoned by Tirrog and will only attack the players if they fail to free her.

Adventure Hooks

When determining why your players are involved with ending Tirrog’s icy presence, feel free to use any, or all, of the below Adventure Hooks when discussing this adventure with your players.

Aiding the Guards of Maul

The adventurers are approached by Brenlanna Orina, the Captain of the Guards of Maul. Brenlanna explains the situation caused by Tirrog is dire as his forces roam the countryside and many townsfolk have gone missing.
The constant threat has left the town’s defenses stretched thin and she needs capable adventurers to end his reign of terror. She emphasizes that defeating Tirrog will not only bring peace to Maul, but also earn the gratitude and favor of its people.

Ecological Balance

Mort, A local druid, approaches the adventurers to express his deep concerns about the unnatural freezing of the lake. Mort explains that the frozen lake has disrupted the local ecosystem, causing harm to wildlife and plants.
He implores the adventurers to defeat Tirrog and restore the natural balance. In return, the druid offers their knowledge of the land, rare herbs, and a powerful artifact as a reward. Restoring the lake to its natural state will help the region thrive once more.

Dragon Hunters

Word has travelled far and wide that Bymraynyl, a white dragon, is far from its natural territory and is imprisoned by Tirrog, the frost giant.
The adventurers are from a dragon hunting guild and see this as a prime opportunity to either hone their skills of slaying dragons or set free a majestic creature, allowing it to grow and become a more challenging hunt.

Before the Adventure Begins

This adventure begins by introducing your players at the gates of Tirrog’s frozen palace. They will be battling their way through Tirrog’s defenses, seeking to challenge him. Share the below excerpt with your players as they create their characters:
Your journeys have brought you to Maul, a small mountain town renowned for its gladiatorial games held beneath the mountain of Pike Rise.
Word has travelled quickly that Tirrog, a frost giant, has descended from the peaks of Pike Rise with Bymraynyl, a white dragon. They have frozen a nearby lake and constructed an icy palace. Frost is spreading farther from the lake with each passing day and Tirrog’s forces patrol the countryside, pillaging small villages.
For your own various reasons, you have agreed to help end Tirrog’s reign of terror by any means necessary.
As the game master, you should note down the passive perception for each character as this will be referenced in the adventure for ambush encounters.
The encounters provided in this adventure are balanced for four level 8 characters. To adjust for fewer players, consider removing ¼ of the monsters’ health pools for each player less than four. To adjust for more players, consider adding additional Duergar Berserkers or Ice Mephits in each encounter.

Approaching the Palace

When your players are ready to begin their adventure, start by reading the below excerpt to kick things off:
As you approach the lake, a chill unlike any you’ve felt before cuts through your armor. Before you is an unnaturally frozen expanse, its surface a flawless sheet of ice stretching as far as the eye can see. The air is eerily still, and the usual sounds of wildlife are absent, replaced only by the whispers of wind across the frozen wasteland.
In the center of this icy domain stands an imposing ice palace, its glistening walls reflect the pale sunlight from above. Four watchtowers, each 40 feet tall and crafted entirely of ice, stand at the corners of the palace.
The front door of the palace, a massive slab of ice 20 feet wide, looms before you. Its surface is intricately carved with frost patterns, but it is sealed shut, offering no immediate passage into the stronghold. The sense of foreboding is palpable, as if the palace itself is a living entity, waiting to challenge those who dare approach.
[Player A], please describe your character, what they are doing, and where they are on the map. (Ask this of all players before continuing)

Palace Locations

P1. Four Watchtowers

To open the palace's front door, the adventurers must pull four levers located at the tops of the four icy watchtowers. Each tower is guarded by a Duergar Berserker and two Ice Mephits. Engaging one group will alert the other towers.
Ice bridges connect the left and right towers and are considered difficult terrain. The 40-foot towers are nearly impossible to climb without magic or specialized gear. Once all four levers are pulled, the palace door will melt.

P2. Palace Entrance

The palace's interior boasts 30-foot-high ceilings supported by large ice pillars. Braziers of blue flame illuminate four ice sculptures, an icy throne, and the bones of Tirrog's unsuccessful challengers. In the center of the floor is a 20-foot circle of intricate carvings, which opens when two Ice Elementals are defeated.
Two Ice Elementals are hidden within the ice walls, ready to ambush the players once they all enter the palace. Upon defeating them, the circle in the floor melts away, revealing a 100-foot-deep hole with a wooden ladder descending beneath the lake.

P3. Beneath the Lake

The floors in all subsequent rooms are ice and considered difficult terrain. There are four pairs of Ice Cleats in room P4 which can aid with traversing the rooms. Most of the walls are perfectly sculpted ice, 25-feet-high, but some areas have caved in due to lake pressure or creature damage. All doorways are wooden and unlocked unless noted otherwise.
There are no torches in this room and constant howling wind can be heard from room P6.

P4. Ice Bunks

This well-lit room of ice contains four beds and supplies for the Duergar. If the boxes are searched, the players will easily find four pairs of Ice Cleats.
There are 2 Duergar Berserkers in this room and if engaged, they will alert the Duergar in room P5.
A DC 18 investigation check will uncover a +2 Greataxe hidden in an icy cavity underneath one of the beds. There is a small supply room that connects P4 to P5.

P5. Leisure Hall

This room is well-lit and contains tables, mostly empty casks of beer, and a rack of mugs along the wall. There is 1 Duergar Berserker and 1 Duergar Priest in this room. They will alert the Duergar in room P4 if engaged.
One of the casks has 6 servings of Mimic’s Brew left in it.

P6. The Frozen Hall

This area is the coldest room in the Palace and there is a deafening wind constantly blowing. It is well-lit and the entryway to this room is supported by two pillars.
There is a magical ice statue at the end of the hallway that is constantly blowing damaging ice winds. There is a stone on the back of the statue which deactivates it.
The wind blows from the statue and ends just before it reaches the room with the pillars. A creature can be damaged by the wind once per round. If a creature is in the presence of the icy wind, they must make a DC 17 Constitution saving throw, taking 22 (5d8) cold damage on a failed save, or half as much on a success.
The doorways to P10 and P11 are locked with padlocks. They can both be unlocked with a DC 17 Thieves’ Tools check.

P7. Prison Cell

This room contains one locked cell. It takes a Thieves’ Tools check (DC 15) to unlock the cell. There is also a chair made of ice sitting in the corner of this room.
Zathea, a female Duergar Berserker, is locked in the cell and visibly malnourished.
If Zathea is freed from her cell, she will warn the adventurers of the troll ahead, tell them how to deactivate the stone statue, and ask that they consider letting Bymraynyl go

P8. Lumber Storage

This unlit room is where lumber for fires is kept. There are a few axes for cutting wood. Three of the logs in this room are Mimics but will only attack if the players actively search through the logs.

P9. The Crumbling Hall

This illuminated hallway is visibly damaged. A Perception check (DC 15) will notice claw marks as the primary source of damage.
The doorway to P10 is locked with a padlock and can be unlocked with a DC 17 Thieves’ Tools check.

P10. Troll’s Den

This room is not lit, contains the bones of many dead fish, and smells putrid. There is 1 Troll in this room.
A DC 17 Investigation check will find a gemmed golden lure in the carcass of a dead fish worth approximately 50 gold pieces.

P11. Bymraynyl, The White Dragon

This room contains Bymraynyl, a young adult white dragon, who has just freed herself from Tirrog’s chains. She is visibly wounded and only has half of her health.
She will try to reason with the adventurers to let her go but is ready to fight if they will not.
If the players choose to free Bymraynyl, she will excavate a small amount of ice and reveal a +2 Breastplate hidden in the ice, which they are free to take.

P12. Tirrog, The Frost Giant

Tirrog sits patiently in this well-lit icy throne room, waiting for his challengers. Before engaging with the adventurers, he gently pats a large wooden chest next to his throne and says in Giant:
I took all that I could from Pike Rise and it’s all yours should you defeat me. But with your heads, I can return home. Let us see who will be rewarded this day.
The chest contains 15 sapphires worth 25 gold each, 2,000 gold, 2 potions of greater healing, and an Everwarm Blanket.

Random Encounters

Roll 1 4-sided die every hour to determine which monsters return to the palace from their patrol around the lake. All monsters should roam freely as you see fit.

Tirrog’s Helmet

Helmet, rare (requires attunement)
You gain a +1 bonus to AC and Constitution saving throws while you where this helmet.
While wearing this helmet, you can gain the “enlarge” effect of the enlarge/reduce spell for 1d4 hours (no concentration required). Once used, this effect cannot be used again until you complete a long rest.

Three years ago, I was 19 years old and I was obsessed with the MOASS. Spending every day reading DD instead of studying and speaking like a finance bro every night over dinner, I finally convinced my family to invest tens of thousands into GameStop. Unfortunately, it happened at the wrong time for them, as the stock has only fallen since. Despite my intrinsic belief in the DD, in the community, in the upside potential guaranteed to show up one day, I felt so guilty.
I couldn’t keep telling them that GameStop was going to the moon while their accounts where dropping in value, albeit only being a negligible sum of a few hundred shares which they wrote off as a lesson not to trust the hype. But I couldn’t ask them to spend their time reading the DD and understanding what’s really going on. So I just asked them to hold, no more.
“Dad, I promise that one day, you’ll regain your investment. Not today, not tomorrow, but one day”, I said. And he did. For three years in the red. Three years of me feeling self-conscious every time I visited my folks, believing they thought I was foolish and gullible. It wasn’t about the money for them, it was how confident I was that we’re all going to make it big, kindly telling me “you’ve learnt a lesson” but really meaning “you’re too naive, son”.
So I stopped mentioning GME. None of us spoke of it for two years. Then, in the middle of March this year, I saw a spark of hope. After intensive analysis, research, and with now years of university education having strengthened my critical thinking, I told my parents to buy in when it was 11.xx. I myself added £5000 which I got from selling SPY at its ATH. I was all in, financially and reputationally.
Then this week happened, and the stock which my parents had written off as a nonsensical meme stock, saw a 500% gain in a couple of days, and with it, three years of my family’s doubt in me vanished, replaced with gratitude and reverence at my “incredible market knowledge of an engineering student”. I’m just a humble ape, my knowledge is all down to this super community of hyper-intelligent and tireless value investors.
But hearing those words meant so much more to me than my DRSed portfolio rising by £20k in a day. After being treated as gullible and out of your depth for so long, then to finally demonstrate that I always knew what I was talking about was an awesome feeling. And now they can’t help but have their interests piqued to the extreme as to why this stock moves like this.
So use the chaos of this week to encourage your friends to question why a stock would move like this on no news, to ask why mainstream media forced the $5 price target down our throats, or pinned a 24hr $5bn market value growth on a seemingly meaningless cartoon posted by a single GME investor, with no actual corporate events occurring.
Start by explaining the MSM’s contradictions, this will be puzzling and easy to understand. Feed them the idea that these outlets might not be entirely objective. And if not, who are they in bed with? Perhaps, it’s the highest bidder, the entity who has the most at stake with GME and can afford the risk of bribing MSM, because the truth would be so, so much worse for them, if it ever came out.
We’re close to locking the float. When it’s locked, new apes will find it very difficult to buy in. Share the DD with them now, before it’s too late and the price is in the 6 figures and your friends resent you for not convincing them to buy.

As the title says. I'm wondering if anyone here have sued their ex with BPD over the abuse, threats etc.
In the aftermath, I haven't gotten a single apology for the way I was treated. I know that it wouldn't heal me, but it would feel a lot better than her being stone cold, acting so very mature and flawless, without a single regard to what she did to me.
She broke me. She threatened with offing herself, in fights, in apologies. She told me to go die. She asked me if I wanted to be punched. She called me multiple horrible things on different occasions. She put me trough an immense amount of emotional abuse. She once said it was my fault that she SHed.
I found an old diary of me writing about the relationship. I can't believe I stayed after reading back at that. I have all the chat logs saved where threats and other things where involved.
She scratched my arm once, and there was a tiny bit of bleeding. But it wasn't so deep, I wore a hoodie for 2 days and you couldn't tell. I don't think she even remembers doing it. But I did take a picture of it.
So it crossed my mind; could you go to court with that? Is verbal and mental abuse, as well as threats, viable? Probably not, but hey. Curious.
I'm not saying that I would do this or that, but it sure did cross my mind and yeah. I know that suing wouldn't heal me either, but if I can't even get a single regard for being broken down, I might as well go on vacation, lol. idk. I need to sleep.

In advance, the blame is entirely on me for not managing my time better. Still, hear me out cause I can't go back now... and if anyone has any insight or advice pls respond... (tl;dr at the bottom)
I am a high school senior. For an international program I'm part of, I have to complete 50 hours of any international language of my choice. For this I chose German on Rosetta Stone, and for the past few months I've been working through the coursework as fast as I can to get it done before May 31 (the deadline).
That said, I haven't enjoyed it. Rosetta Stone is overall not that great of a program to use, and the learning strategy doesn't work very well for me, so I've just been trying to get it over with so I can graduate with the certificate.
Still, I dutifully logged what I thought were my hours in my notes app on my phone, and I tracked the weeks and hours I was completing in my plan. Each week is 2.5 hours and there are 6 weeks in each of the four "plans," from what I gathered---but I guess that's not how it works, I don't know anymore. Why are the plans different anyways? But I digress.
By that logic, if I completed all the weeks in each of the plans I would get 60 hours, which is 10 hours more than I need.
So just today I found that I was at the highest fluency level I could be (proficient) and that no matter what plan I chose (of the four, which are work, travel, family, and basics & beyond), I wasn't automatically moved onto the next unit as it used to do for me. All it shows now is "You completed your plan! Choose your next plan!" But I can't, because all other plans are also completed...
I'm not sure if that's an issue of whether my subscription has expired, or a glitch, or I just have no understanding of how the system actually works---this would be unsurprising, since the whole gamut that is Rosetta Stone is confusing anyhow. And then I think, "well, maybe I actually have completed my hours." And that would make sense at first; it adds up with my log and with the amount of hours I've completed on Audio Companion and all.
But then I decided to log onto the web application of Rosetta Stone on my computer and found the "Reports" section, which displayed a much more severe scene. There is no "Reports" section on the mobile version, for reference. To my horror, my report said that I had only made it past levels 1 and 2 (which I'd never seen an mention of in the mobile app), and that I had a meager 25 hours of German to my account.
So I really need to know if I should heed that or if there's some inconsistency there that someone else has also experienced. I assume, unfortunately, that those hours are true---since computer's are smart about logging these things---and if so, I have another 25 hours of German to complete over the next 15 days or else I won't get this certificate. : ' )
If anyone has any advice at all for how to get my hours up on my report or whether there actually is an inconsistency in the web and mobile versions or something, just any advice. Brutally honest, practical, I'll hear out anything.

I'm on Xbox one and I've only got the 70 building limit and so far I'm not doing too bad, I've got an abundance of building materials like stone, log and sticks and a fairly steady production of tools and I'm making everything in iron cz ive got 2 mines so I have a ton of it but I feel that I'm not as efficient as I should be. I've also got 2 excavation sheds currently gathering me clay so I can start making clay bottles and mugs and so on since I just built my tavern and I'm tryna get that automated too as well as just be able to build some clay decorations like flower vases and stuff but I'm not making enough clay anymore, I used to have an abundance of it when i was just producing a bunch of clay vases to sell but now the clay production is so much slower.
Regardless tho I'm more interested in how you make your money, how you feed your people and how you got your buildings automated to make tools and how you put those tools to use
Also I've already got everything unlocked apart from the last few farm buildings, farming just seems to take longer to level up and please since I only have the 70 limit I just wanna hear from people who also have that limit instead of the 140 one.
I hope from reading how you're villages work will give me a better understanding on how to do it properly for myself. Thank you very much my good people😁

I recently completed a va c&p exam March 2024 for asthma. Examiner stated she couldn't render a diagnosis, due to the fact my PFT scores were not classic for asthma. Stated there could be another disease causing the symptoms. I've been diagnosed by the VA hospital since 2010 and currently being treated. My FEV-1 score came back 51% pre and 33% post. This is a presumptive condition and I read my TERA memo stating they conceded I was exposed high probability to asbestos and solvents. By her not rendering a diagnosis on my DBQ and Medical Opinion will this deny my claim? TIA
*They sent me to pulmonary specialist May 8th, diagnosed me with moderate persistent asthma *

So I've been wanting to rant this for a while and I'm finally willing. I had a journal when I was younger and I just found it again so I'm just posting based from what I read and remember. So first is kinda the backstory. This starts from 6th grade to 8th grade. In 6th grade there was two sides and the rest of the friends, these will not be real names. So I was on the side that was mostly in the right/didn't start it. There was me and this girl I'll call Kelly, then on the other side was Lav and Jams. The rest of the friend group was more like bystanders and kind of judges to both sides. The main judge was May, who was the therapist friend for a lot of my friends throughout elementary and middle school. Kelly and Jams always conflicted over stupid things. After me and Lav got our side of the story we came together and talked about it, sometimes bringing it up to May for help. At the time Lav had a boyfriend I'll call Bear. Bear and Jams hated each other, but they both wanted to hang out with Lav. Our teacher literally made Lav have to hang out with only one of them because they fought so much. During this time me and Jams were having problems with our sexual and gender identity, and Kelly was homophobic, which was also another reason Kelly and Jams conflicted. So in 7th grade Kelly and Jams were no longer friends, during some lunch hours I would go to Kelly and Lav's lunch (they had a separate lunch from me and Jams). They vented about Jams a lot and I never expected them to be friends again. Not much else happened in 7th grade besides Jams dating about 20 people (yes this is an accurate number) and finding out they were transgender. In March or some time near then of that year they brought a flag to school (I think it was omnisexual) and started telling people that was my sexuality when I wasn't out (they told Kelly and May). I didn't know about this until my birthday party in late summer when May and Lav told me. May started texting Jams and Jams ended up blocking me. About halfway through 8th grade me and Jams became friends again, although they manipulated me and my friends. Now, they still haven't figured out their gender and sexual identity at this point. They got mad at me for flirting (terriblely) with their boyfriend. Their boyfriend did flirt back and was totally comfortable about it and knew it was platonic. Me and their boyfriend did start dating after they broke up and that lasted for a month. We were friends afterwards but because we started dating Jams hated me. They said I was using them and making their boyfriend get a cursh on me even though I've told them we were just joking. Soon after I gave them a letter explaining everything from 6th grade from my PoV and they stopped hating me. They were still annoying and said stupid things, they also do not respect boundaries at all and have literally put their hands around my neck like they'd strangle me. They also jump on my back and said things that made me uncomfortable (flirting with me in a weird way) even though I told them to stop.

Hi so I’m just curious if there’s any legal recourse here or a case of any sort. Really out of the principal of it.
So I applied to a North East state school February 2023. I received an email in May letting me know that Fall 2023 was full and if I’d like to be considered for Fall 2024. I was bummed but I said sure please consider my application for the following year.
I did reach out to this person in March 2024 to follow up since I started hearing from other schools. Fast forward to today May 2024…and well I received an email from the same person saying Fall 2024 class is full and they are not reviewing any additional applications.
So I’m just wondering if it’s rolling admissions don’t you have to review them in the order they are received? And if it’s not rolling admissions…don’t you have to review all applications before making a decision?
I’m honestly just frustrated by the process and this school is notorious for having broken systems, delays and a lack of transparency and it has impacted so many students. Myself being one of them.
TLDR: applied to a school in 2023 they told me the fall class is full and they’ll consider my application in 2024. Heard back from them that Fall 2024 is full and they didn’t read my application. Is that legal?

(I am SO sorry for the needed lengthy) Back Story & Context Leading To My Decision:
I (33F) have 1 sibling, “Sam” (36F). Although we share the same parents, our childhood & the way we were treated was incredibly different. Mainly because Sam had always been favored & treated far better than me. A fact that Sam refuses to acknowledge to this day.
Before & after my parents got married, it was agreed upon that they would not have children, until one day my mother “Susan” (66F) came up with the bright idea that if she gave her parents (“Norma & Gene”) a grand-baby they would finally love her. She went off the pill without telling my father, got pregnant, then had Sam. To no one’s surprise, Susan hated being a mom. So she would ship Sam across the country to Norma & Gene’s constantly, so much so, they saw her as THEIR child. And they showered her with love that Susan never even got a taste of. This led to Susan being aggressively jealous & resentful of her child.
Years later, my dad was tricked again into having me to “save their marriage.” They divorced when I was 3. All Sam ever knew from Susan was neglect, emotional & mental abuse from Susan, which only became worse when she could use “favoring” me as another way to hurt Sam. This was NOT a secret in my family, resulting in maltreatment towards me (either subconsciously or intentionally).
Abuse toward Sam turned physical. My father was given full custody of her when I was 8, and I was left with Susan for the next 2 years until she decided she wanted to move to San Francisco because she “deserved” a more glamorous life. I do not remember the years living with Susan, but recently one of my closest friends (of 25 years) said to me I practically lived at her house & she barely interacted with Susan throughout the entirety of our friendship.
To make up for Susan being an awful parent, Norma & Gene would dote on Sam & shell out a lot of $$$ to give her a very nice life (let me know if you want me to give a list of examples in an update), compare this to me when I barley received a kind word. They offered me money ONCE in my early 20’s to pay off my credit card debt I accrued in college as I had to pay all my own bills while working full time (I have been working since I was 15) and going to school full time. I am the only one in the family who worked in college, yet I am still the only one to graduate with honors. I accepted with the condition it would come out of my “inheritance.” I have never asked or been offered money since. I have paid for ALL my own bills since I left home @ 18 years old.
Despite the obvious disparities and constant hurt they put me through, I was an active member of the family who mainly kept her mouth shut. I attended family events unless I could not afford to go, I sent holiday gifts, called between 1-2x per month for an 1 hour+ phone call in which I most often bit my tongue unless it was to defend Sam as Norma did not agree with her parenting.
Something to note, in May 2021 my father had an accident that would lead to his passing in December 2021. The disagreements & Sam’s nastiness toward me after the accident and then his death further strained our relationship.
Fast forward to March 2023. An explosive incident at Susan’s home in front of me she screamed at my sister to the point of Sam sobbing in ear shot of her 3 young kids, husband, and my step father resulted in me cutting ties with Susan for good. To be fair, she screamed in my face “I don’t want a relationship with you” with Sam as a witness. I made the family aware of my decision, and everyone, including Norma agreed to respect my decision.
By August 2023, my physical health that had been on a rapid decline since 2019 including 18 out of 23 (78%) of my spinal discs deteriorating without a known cause had become unbearable to manage + time I had to take off because of migraines & doctor’s appointments, I had to quit my corporate desk job. I had enough money saved to tide me over for some time, but as any US adult in their 20’s & 30’s know, it’s been rough the past few years, add in physical disabilities & limited mobility + regular migraines, I was running low on money & needed help. So at the end of December, at the encouragement & insistence of my aunt Elizabeth (Susan’s sister) who I had become quite close with over the past few years, I went to Norma & Gene to ask for a LOAN. They had donated $25,000 to Sam’s place of worship on her behalf a few months prior, offered to buy Sam & her husband a house the year prior, paid for Elizabeth’s bills & expensive lifestyle for the last year when she was soul searching on what line of work she wanted to do next, this was after putting a down payment on Elizabeth’s new $470,000 condo + $70,000 of renovations it needed, not to mention the literal hundreds of thousands of dollars that they have given Susan over the years just to pay off her credit card debt (none of which is coming out of their inheritance might I add) she assured me they would absolutely loan their granddaughter with serious health issues money. Elizabeth would talk to them personally about it, just to seal the deal while Sam would help me find cheaper alternatives to my current necessities such as Medicaid.
I make the request, and to my surprise they are more than happy to help me with a loan. But one week later & their phone calls with Susan, they say by email they “love me but cannot continue to financially support my poor decisions.” I call Elizabeth who says, it was not in her best interest to talk to them about helping me as I am “worthless to this family and society while being disabled.” Then adds that she will not let her “mental health deteriorate just to emotionally support me.” I then immediately reach out to Sam who does not even have the guts to talk by phone only text, and says she called Susan to explain my circumstance but “wasn’t going to argue or pick a fight” to help me and that she is sorry that that she “can't show up for me the way I want her to because she needs to maintain her own mental health, relationships and boundaries.” She also threw in that I have “made up this narrative in my head” that they treat her & I different, that she is treated better.
That day I fully cut contact with Norma, Gene, and Elizabeth. I told them they will not be hearing from me again, and I will not be attending theirs or Susan’s funeral. And I stopped speaking with Sam for the time being. Ironically, what led us to speaking was last month (April 20224) I had begun working on an article about going No Contact with family members. I asked if I could discuss her childhood abuse in a few sentences as part of the article. She agreed and offered to give me quotes. I accepted then interviewed her. From there we began rebuilding our relationship.
Then last Wednesday, (May 8), Norma passes. I do not attend the funeral that happened on Friday, May 10. My two cousins who I have become very close with in the last 6 months understood why, and supported my decision. But even though I did not go, I continually checked in with them & Sam to ensure they were okay. Not once from Wednesday to yesterday (Tuesday) did Sam reply to a single message. As I am concerned about this, I reached out yesterday morning. She replied in the afternoon. I was incredibly hurt by her very lengthy message. Here are 2 excerpts that led me to full NC.

1. “Your perspective on the situation was clear, you werent coming to be with the family and you arent grieving [Norma’s] death at least in the conventional sense. I had to be the one to answer from most of the family why you werent there, it was incredibly awkward and uncomfortable for me.”
2. “Since late January/Early February things have already been really strained between us. I know that most that comes from my point of view and actions were really hurtful to you. I hate that I hurt you and Its been difficult for me to reconcile that I can't show up for you the way you want me to while also maintaining my own mental health, relationships and boundaries.”

She continually says that she cannot show up for me the way I need without affecting her mental health or crossing boundaries, and I am not someone that would ever want to hinder someone else’s life by my presence or cause inner turmoil by associating with me. I let her know this and said I will stop trying to cultivate a relationship and I will step away for good. I said it as kind as possible, taking an hour to craft a message that can only be seen as kind. I told her if she responds I will not be reading it.
I work very hard to stay positive as it’s just me to lean on. When there is something eating at me emotionally, it will drain my energy & have me spiral until it is resolved. I did not want to waste another week feeling hurt. But with that said, AITA for cutting ties at this time & not waiting?

Could anyone offer advice for me as I apply this cycle. I am a traditional applicant but I unfortunately scored a bit low on my MCAT compared to my FL averages but it's too late to take it again this cycle. Please just be real with me, I'm just trying to see my weaknesses and work on them over the next school year in case this cycle doesn't work out. Long read, sorry. Hi! I’ve been following this sub for a bit trying to help myself. Mid March I woke in the middle of the night with severe shaking. After a while it passed and I called that following Monday to make an appointment with my doctor to talk about it. Because I mentioned a family history of seizures on the phone they wouldn’t see me but sent me to the ER. While there getting checked out, I was hooked up to the EKG machine and had heart palpitations. They went up to 177 and they treated me with Ativan and basically told me I was just having anxiety. So I followed up with my doctor and was prescribed anxiety meds. They made things so much worse and didn’t help the heart palpitations I was having. I quit taking them after a week. During this time I was starting a new class at the gym. I had a really intense workout and I felt like I pulled a muscle in my shoulder. I went home and was fine the rest of the evening. The next morning I woke with SEVERE heartburn and back pain super intense. I tried treating with what I had on hand, antacids and just relaxing. It kept persisting. A week goes by and I cannot keep up with the back pain, it’s super painful and I go to the ER again. They basically just reiterate it’s a pulled muscle. I leave and again try to treat it with relaxing, some Tylenol and ibuprofen when I can. Another week goes by and same thing. It’s getting worse and at this point I’ve maxed at (honestly over max) 1200mg of ibuprofen and I cannot sit up it hurts so bad. I go back to ER and they do some blood work and xray. Bloodwork comes back and they say everything looks fine but I have slightly elevated levels in a few things, one of them being the blood clotting factor. They say I may have a blood clot, they can do CT scans to see if I do. I agree because why would I want to go home scared?? They do it and see ground glass in my lungs and swollen lymph nodes (note: I did have a pretty severe cold in January, but nothing else since). They sent me home with a diagnosis of atypical pneumonia and gave me 10 days worth of antibiotics. I take the antibiotics faithfully and am actually feeling significantly better. 2 days after coming off the antibiotics I start with the back pain again. Severe enough to send me home from church early. I take the narcotics that has been prescribed to me at one of the various ER runs. I’m fine, mostly for a day or two, but don’t move far from my bed because everything hurts. But the pain ramps back up and I cannot function. I again go to the ER because eating hurts me, I was concerned I had severely damaged my spine at the gym and it was missed or something. I go and they basically make me feel like crap. Give me some muscle relaxers and send me away. I lost it and cried so hard in the hospital room they sent in a nurse to talk to me asking what I wanted them to do. I left and followed up with my doctor again. (It’s noted that I didn’t make doctor appointments in between because I kept getting better thinking I was finally over it, only for it to hit intensely with no notice). Doctor gave me a once over and said it’s probably just muscle still. She did hit a knot I had in my back muscles and just attributed everything to that. Another week goes by and it’s getting worse again. I call to schedule an appointment with the doctor and get told that Dr is not there anymore and get a new doctor I’ve never seen. (In the waiting for the appointment I actually stumble upon finding out about the symptoms of gallbladder issues). At the appointment, I’m feeling fine again with little to no problems or symptoms. I try to explain to the dr what’s going on and I ask about gall bladder. He does the exam on my stomach and because I didn’t have pain when he pressed he said it’s all heartburn and gave me heartburn meds. I’ve been on them for a few days now and it’s not really doing anything. The pain hasn’t been as intense after eating but it’s still there.
I’m tired of being told everything is anxiety, heartburn and muscle spasms. I don’t have an appointment scheduled yet for a follow-up but when I do I plan to demand an ultrasound. However I feel like I’m half just going to stick it out and wait until I am in so much pain I need an ambulance or until my husband gets home from military training next month.
Do I just try and follow a low fat fodmap diet and manage myself with the antacids too or continue to pursue with my doctor that it’s gallbladder. Oh and it turns out I have a family history of gallstones and gall bladder issues that I just learned about.
