Just finished Sarah Jio’s The Violets of March—loved the generations of women in a family and the mystery aspect, but the writing was meh and the story line a little dramatic far fetched. I loved the romance that was story based not sexy type.

Hey yall, I hate to bring this shit to your table but I need some guidance in a legal matter & some input from your community.
Last yr a guy broke into the women’s bathroom I was using & took photos of me while I was pissing. Male/male presenting. They have done this at least 4 other confirmed times in other states. Victims are always female. The trial is in a couple of months.
Found their Facebook pg & they transitioned from male to female about 3 weeks after the incident.
Stating things like “this is not an impulsive decision” & sharing that the outfit they were wearing in the accompanying pic was their first outfit of feminine clothing & crowdfunding asking for help buying more. Whereas just a week prior they made a post referring to themselves as a man. (Other things of note on the profile is that the seem to be schizophrenic/ have a god complex)
This feels fishy, the timeline of the transition especially. I’m concerned about this person having easier access to the women’s bathroom in the future due to this transition, as they’ve proven to be a repeat offender. I need some guidance on how to approach this in my victim impact statement. I want to be extremely respectful to the trans community, and I understand that bathroom predator rhetoric is really frustrating & damaging. So this is a really nuanced situation where I respectfully am asking for help.

Rebecca Kathleen Reid (Becky) was a 37 year old wife to Dearld Reid and their son was 13 years old in 1997. She had been a graduate of Thurston High School and was described as bubbly and outgoing.
To make ends meet Becky worked at a convenience station located on Highway 99 in Eugene Oregon. At the time the name of the convenience center was the Grocery Cart, and Becky was a manager there.
On January 27th (Superbowl Sunday)at around 1a.m. Becky was doing her closing routine. Probably sweeping and mopping and about to possibly count down her till. From piecing together a couple different descriptions there was either one witness in the store, or a witness just outside the store collecting beer bottles (or possibly both?) that witnessed a man abduct Becky from the store at knifepoint and force her into his vehicle where he drove off with her. The suspect was described as a white male late 20s to mid 30s, 5 ft 9 and 165-185 lbs. In 1997 he had shoulder length brown hair and a mustache with face stubble. His vehicle is described as a 70's or early 80s compact or midsize pickup truck with a white canopy. The truck itself was white or light in color and there was a horizontal stripe about 8 inches wide on the driver side door. It was not an extended cab. Neither the suspect or the vehicle were ever truly identified or found.
A month after Becky disappeared a man attempted to abduct another woman from a nearby grocery store at knife point. That woman escaped and a suspect was captured and arrested but when investigators tried to link that man with Reid's case they could not. So he was never named as a suspect.
Dearld Reid was cleared fairly early on. He and his son and the rest of Becky's family like her sister Chris watched days of Rebecca missing turn from days to weeks to months and then, years. With no answers after all this time.
Authorities believe the man was attempting to rob the store at the time that he abducted Becky. But I haven't found any information on whether he actually robbed the place. And if so why take Becky? Could she identify him? Was it someone she knew? Or was abducting a woman more of the motive than robbery?
This case puts me in mind of a couple others across the United States where women are abducted from their late night gas station jobs. I myself worked the same type of jobs in my early 20's.
Besides the fact that Becky was walked out at knife point I have not heard a lot of description of what the eyewitnesses saw just prior to the abduction.
I'm sure Becky's son still wants answers. Someone stole his mother away in 1997 and whatever the motive it robbed a family of a wife, mother, sister, and daughter.

Well here’s the whole story.

on top of it so many times my mil has come in between me and my husband, since me and my husband are doing a long distance relationship, he comes to india for 2 weeks breaks, ever since we got married in august, we’ve only spend 56 days together. so this time due to olympics he’s getting one month off and we planned a japan trip. my mil immediately said she would also join and said we can go to dubai.
i had to explain my husband how this is not okay since we only had 56 days together and having a family trip is not okay, he somehow explained her and changed the plan to bali. but she was still upset.

Dating apps are, increasingly, for the olds. And that means the companies behind them are working harder than ever to reinvent themselves, to the extent that some don’t even really want to be dating apps anymore – or, at least, not just dating apps.
“We will not be a dating app in a few years,” Bumble Inc. founder Whitney Wolfe Herd said at the Bloomberg Tech conference last week. “Dating will be a component, but we will be a true human connection platform. This is where you will meet anyone that you want to meet. A hiking buddy, a mahjong buddy.”
In her telling, this is a response to what she deems a loneliness epidemic. But there are cold, hard business reasons too. Sales growth at Bumble is expected to slow to 9% this year, down from a peak of 31% in 2021. Explaining to investors that you’re going to be more than just a dating app – neatly expanding your total addressable market – isn’t a bad idea. Actually making that happen is, however, a different proposition entirely. Bumble is also making the well-publicized change of not forcing women to make the first move, which was long its unique selling point. A cynical interpretation of that is that it’s a simple way to boost user engagement.
It’s a similar story at Match Group Inc., the owner of Tinder and Hinge. It predicted sales in the three months through June of as much as $860 million – less than the $882 million that analysts were expecting. Tinder was the main underperformer. The challenge with dating apps is that, if they work effectively, you lose your customers. So you have to spend money on marketing to attract new users. And Gen Z seems to be somewhat less enamored with dating apps than millennials, so Tinder’s increased spending on sales and marketing didn’t deliver the results that many expected. The number of people paying to use Tinder (for the premium services such as Super Likes) and the rest of the company’s apps has fallen to 14.9 million, down from a 2022 peak of 16.5 million.
You might expect 20-somethings to be the prime market for dating apps. But a survey published by Statista last year found that 61% of dating app users in the US were ages 30 to 49. Just 26% were 18- to 29-year-olds.

As an international student studying in Australia, I recently embarked on a journey to relax after finishing my end-of-term exams. However, my experience with Qatar Airways during my travels to the United Arab Emirates and Qatar turned out to be far from pleasant. In both Abu Dhabi and Doha airports, I faced malicious targeting and discrimination from one or two male Qatar Airways employees.
My itinerary was Abu Dhabi - Doha - Australia. Since Australian student visas are issued electronically, and I’ve always entered Australia by simply scanning my passport without needing the electronic visa, I was taken aback when a male Qatar Airways staff at Abu Dhabi airport couldn’t immediately locate my electronic visa while processing my boarding pass. He proceeded to question the validity of my stay in Doha, insinuating that I might be illegally staying there, and asked when I had “applied” for the Australian visa.
Feeling frustrated by such questioning, especially considering my previous travel experiences where I didn’t present my electronic visa during transit in Seoul, I sought guidance from another, more experienced Qatar Airways staff and successfully obtained my boarding pass for the onward journey to Doha. However, just before boarding the flight from Doha to Australia, I was interrogated by an individual claiming to be from the Australian Immigration Department. He repeatedly scrutinized my passport, questioning why I chose to undertake short trips to the UAE and Qatar and even remarking that my decision not to check luggage for such trips was “very strange.”
The interrogation, filled with hostility and suspicion towards my personal life and employment, led me to believe that the Qatar Airways male staff who assisted me with the boarding pass had intentionally tarnished my image, prompting serious doubts about my personal identity and the legitimacy of my actions in the eyes of the Australian Immigration Department. This resulted in a humiliating interrogation at the boarding gate, lasting at least 10 minutes, in front of a crowd of onlookers.
I have reason to believe that this Qatar Airways male staff member discriminated against and harbored hostility towards single women traveling alone without checked baggage, assuming that such women might be engaged in illegal activities like espionage, and exploited his position and Qatar Airways’ territorial advantage in Qatar to deliberately harm and defame such women.
Coincidentally, this Qatar Airways male staff member boarded the same flight to Australia as me and subjected me to multiple instances of intentional or unintentional harassment and humiliation onboard. This included forcefully hitting my foot with the food trolley without apologizing and deliberately waking me up loudly when I was asleep to offer me food.
Apart from this particular staff member, Qatar Airways’ service was also severely lacking in other aspects. For instance, repeated inquiries about immigration cards were repeatedly brushed aside, leading to chaos among passengers scrambling to fill them out during the tense landing phase of the flight. Additionally, as a long-haul international flight with hundreds of passengers, Qatar Airways’ toilets lacked toilet seat covers and were unhygienic
