2024.05.14 17:28 Alert_Caterpillar738 Have you ever met an aggressive schizophrenic? Tell me about it in the comments. This happened to me today:

Hello, to begin with I want to add that I never judge people by their look and I do not make assumptions based on that, but in this story I will describe the people as they looked so u can feel it more.
The story that happened to me today:
I had a broken arm and went to the doctor today. In our country, the waiting time in hospitals for such a check is up to 3 hours. The waiting rooms are post-communist, old, white walls and blue uncomfortable chairs. After about half an hour of waiting in a waiting room full of people of all ages, who were also after some sort of injury, a 2-meter middle-aged man came to the waiting room, who at first glance looked somewhat strange. He sat down on a chair and his girlfriend or sister came behind him, I don't know what of those two it was, but she looked even weirder than him. The guy had a tucked-in T-shirt in his pants with the inscription PRAGUE and the Czech flag on the front of the t-shirt. He had rustler pants pulled up high. His posture was stooped. He had brown, thinning hair and thick-rimmed glasses. Blue eyes that only had an empty look. Huge palms, since he was about 2 meters. The woman who was with him was missing several teeth. She was overweight and of average height. She was wearing gray leggings, a t-shirt that was short so part of her stomach was visible, and an unzipped dark green jacket. Both of them showed that they were not completely in order and looked a little dirty, but not like street dirty, more like they just dont take care of them self AT ALL dirty. The woman looked much dirtier. They sat down not far from me and at first it was quiet. Subsequently, the guy started talking, first in silence and to himself, he started commenting everything around him. For example, another patient in the waiting room was wearing a cap and the strange guy said. "Look, the moron still has his cap on. Can you understand that?!? haha" He always laughed really unpleasantly after one of his drastic comments. Horror type laugh. He could be heard and people were looking around at him. As we were all waiting in the waiting room, a nurse came out and according to the ordinary number, called a very old lady who had broken her arm and was going to be checked. The strange guy was sitting closest to the door, so everyone was walking around him. As the grandmother slowly got up from her chair (obviously because she is old), the strange guy aggressively shouted: "WELL MOVE, MOVE, COMMON!!!" Everyone pretended not to hear him and no one ever spoke up. As he commented, he said something that I didn't fully understand, something like: "And what does this tattooed moron think of himself???" That should have been on me because I was the only one in the waiting room with tattoos on my body. So I looked at him and asked him: "You talking to me?"
The strange guy aggressively raised his voice and answered: "YES, I SAID THAT ABOUT YOU AND WHAT DO YOU CARE, DO I MIND YOU?" type shit, to which I replied that he was shouting in a waiting room full of people like he is out of his fucking mind and that's when it started. The guy started almost shouting on entire waiting room: "OUT OF MY FUCKING MIND? YOU CAN BE SURE THAT I AM OUT OF MY FUCKING MIND, I'M 100% SCHIZOPHRENIC. I WILL KILL YOU AND I WILL NOT EVEN GO TO JAIL. THEY WILL JUST LOCK ME IN AN INSTITUTE AGAIN :)… YOU WILL END UP UNDERGROUND BECAUSE GOD DOESN'T WANT YOU IN HEAVEN! YOU WILL DIE!!! AND YOU KNOW WHAT, AT LEAST THERE WILL BE ONE LESS BRAT. A VEIN IN YOUR NECK WILL RUPTURE AND YOU'LL BLEED OUT, YOU'LL SEE. BUT I DON'T WANT TO RETURN TO THE INSTITUTE... I DON'T WANT TO RETURN. MRS. GUIDE I DONT WANT TO GO BACK”. The woman who was with him just watched blankly, motionless, without emotion. I didn't answer him, I shook my head and gave a thumbs up as he aggressively said he was going to kill me. I felt a slight fear and a rush of adrenaline, of course I did nothing. WTF? The guy was visibly sick in the head and god knows what would happen if I reacted to this. Afterwards, he kept talking. Totally random stuff. "Look at how he stares at the phone, that's even worse than alcohol, he's addicted. I saw that on TV" again at me. The woman was silent. A hospital bed arrived in the waiting room, on which lay a very old grandmother who had probably fallen and hit herself somehow. She was lying and holding her head up, she told her daughter that it doesn't hurt, when she hold her head up like that so she has to have her head up. The guy heard it and to the entire waiting room: "YOU DON'T HAVE TO. THE ONLY THING YOU HAVE TO DO IS DIE. HAHAH. OTHER THAN THAT, YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING. HAHA :) NO ONE HAS TO DO ANYTHING BUT EVERYONE HAS TO FUCKING DIE. END UP UNDERGROUND. HAHAHAHA. PSST PSST… SHUT UP, BE QUIET” he said to himself and started rocking in his chair. As the patients went in order, he was angry that there were people ahead of him. The nurse called the next patient in line to the ambulance. It was a mother with a baby in a stroller. The guy said out loud, "WHY ARE YOU GOING? YOU AND YOUR CHILD ARE SOMETHING MORE?”. No one in the waiting room noticed him, people just nodded their heads. After the check-up, the mother and the child came out of the doctor's office and this strange guy said: "WHAT, YOU'RE FINALLY GOING AWAY. WHY WERE YOU THE MAIN???" The woman said with a very calm tone: my child is sick. The strange guy: "And you work?! You have a job!?" The woman said yes and when she saw that he was aggressive, she started walking away. While she was walking away, the guy was talking louder and louder at her: "DO YOU THINK I'M STUPID? SHE THINKS I'M STUPID AND THAT I DON'T KNOW THAT SHE'S ON KINDERGARTEN WITH HER BABY! HAHAHAHA” . It was really terrible, I was really afraid that he will attack somebody. The guy also said things like: "NO. NO. I DON'T WANT TO GET MY HANDS DIRTY AGAIN. Pssst, psssst. SILENCE!..... I have to drink, I have dry in my mouth. dry like sahara i am. DRINK, BECAUSE YOUR KIDNEYS WILL DRY UP!” The doctor called number 12 in, which was me, and this strange guy was sitting about 2 cm from the door to the ambulance. He said something again, but I didn't even listen to his words anymore, I was just careful when I walked by, that I wouldn't get hit or that something would poke me. I went to the doctor and the doctor asked who was screaming like that. I told him what it was about and he told me that I shouldn't pay attention to such people. He checked my hand and I went away. As I was leaving, the guy was talking loudly: "NOW GO. AND YOU HAVE FREE TIME, EXCELLENT HAHA” . And I walked away.
All this was very strange and my first encounter with such a sick person. ou could see on him that he really mean those things. The whole time I had a very bad feeling. The guy looked exactly like some kind of psychopath, like some serial killer who keeps the heads of his victims in the refrigerator so that he can feel dominance over them forever type shit and cant tell the difference between good and bad. I wouldn't be surprised at all if in a few years I see him and his wife in the news that a dead body was found at their home.
Did you have any encounters like this? I want to know

2024.05.14 02:49 bellingman Be like my kid: GO FOR IT!

I played with my 12-year-old son this weekend. For his second shot on a par 5, I suggest an iron or hybrid. "I'm hitting my fairway wood" he says.
It's a narrow layup and he's a beginner, so chances are it's not going to end well. But he steps up with confidence and smashes the ball. Perfect contact, long, and split the fairway. My jaw dropped open as I turned to look at him. With a big smile on his face, he said "That was a good one!"
So when I get to my shot, instead of my usual 7-iron layup I pull out my 4-wood to go for the green. I've never reached this green in two--it's raised, narrow, hazard on one side and jail on the other. Plus I have hit this club decently off the deck only a couple times in my entire life. But I take aim and swing away.
The ball hits the center of the club face and rises high in the air, drawing slightly straight at the flag. It lands softly in the middle of the green and only rolls a little, leaving 10 ft for eagle. Easily the best shot I've ever hit with that club.
He gave me a high five, and I thanked him for inspiring me to go for it. I missed the putt, but I truly didn't care. I've made eagles before, but I didn't think I was even capable of hitting a shot that good.
But you never know until you try.

2024.05.13 15:44 moonb3an Let’s talk about the camping trip!

So I just saw a tiktok comments section that very valiantly defended Effy’s behaviour on the camping trip even though….
[look away now if you don’t want spoilers!!!!!]
Effy literally instigated the situation that led to her beating Katie and leaving her in the woods.
Firstly, Effy wasn’t supposed to come on the trip initially because Katie didn’t want her there. Maybe that sounds nasty to most people but I get Katie’s hesitation… All throughout the season Effy has been at the centre of most of the drama the group goes through.
Effy treats all her “friends” awfully. From the beginning of Effy and Pandora’s friendship we can see that Effy has treated her like shit. Effy puts Pandora down when they’re alone and when they’re around others. Effy ignores Pandora’s boundaries constantly because Pandora isn’t “cool” enough to be worthy of respect. Effy pitted Cook and Freddy (and Jay Jay too but she never actually considered him) against each other on day 1 of their meeting. Yes, Effy is not solely to blame for Cook and Freddy’s decision to become weird sexual rivals but her challenge was the breaking point in their friendship. I also see that Effy pits Emily and Katie against each other throughout the series. It’s an interesting mix of treating Katie like she was vapid/worthless (despite Effy herself being actually really similar to Katie, she cares about the way she is percieved yet judges Katie for the same thing) and treating Emily decently. So I will admit that it’s actually very redeeming for Effy to accept Emily’s sexuality and feelings for Naomi without judgment. That being said, I noticed through season 3 Effy often uses her dynamic with Emily to subtly goad and provoke Katie. Effy didn’t really care about who Naomi was only that her presence would piss off Katie and make Emily giddy. It’s actually very intelligent how Effy manipulates everyone around her to appear the exact opposite way they are by others. Another example is how Effy doesn’t even listen when Pandora is trying to process Thomas’ abrupt departure from their lives. Overall Effy is a piss poor friend.
Moving onto my second point, the substance use! EFFY was the person who found the mushrooms and encouraged everyone to take them. Katie begged everyone not to take them “it was meant to just be some sausages and beers.” I really understand Katies point here - all their friends seem to end up in bad ways when the whole lot of them take drugs, its actually quite a concerning and probably scary dynamic. Theres nothing wrong with having a quiet evening and the whole group had seemingly been content enough to go out into the woods without their normal cocktail of drugs, have a bonfire, some beers and hang out before Effy finds some mushrooms. This isn’t even the first time Effy imposes drugs on others when it was explicitly stated that her friends did not want to partake for the single event. For example, Pandora’s birthday party.
Pandora was heart broken that Effy spikes the brownies with MDMA, that she lied to her mum, that she turned the whole party into something that benefitted her. Now some of you might try to say “oh well thats just Effy’s way of coping” yes but that doesn’t erase how cruel and unkind it is towards Pandora. Then Effy gets angry at Pandora for sleeping with Cook - Cook who Effy is unattached to in a “hes not my boyfriend” way, Effy who sleeps with anyone she wants but wouldn’t even consider that maybe she shouldn’t. Effy would never even consider that maybe Pandora has a crush on a boy before she decides to sleep with him so why should Pandora care? I understand it’s not the same situation like Pandora did know that Effy was involved with Cook, HOWEVER, the way I saw it Pandora was always bending over backwards to accomodate Effy. Cook was ALSO an active participant in sleeping with Pandora, yet why doesn’t Effy acknowledge his role in the situation- all she ever does is ignore him and punish Pandora? Pandora was at breaking point and Effy had just spiked her straightlaced mum with MDMA, contributed to turning the party into a rager and ignored Pandora when she wanted advice about Thomas
Back to my second point, Effy found the mushrooms and took them which further provoked Katie. People keep saying “Effy was high she didn’t know what was happening” completely ignoring that it was Effy’s choice and in real life regardless of if she was high - she was still accountable for her actions. Yes Katie should not have tried to provoke Effy to have a bad trip but considering the fact that Effy had ruined the camping trip and by this I mean the drugs but also ghosting Cook so that he followed them and he would scare them all. Yes again not Effy’s fault for Cooks behaviour BUT again, if she was just honest with him and told him she didn’t want to see him instead of trying to avoid the consequences of her actions then maybe he would have stayed away.
Thirdly, the unreliable narrator and the events prior to hitting Katie. So I just pointed out that Cook scared the shit out of everyone - this is actually quite important to consider in what goes down next. The rock scene is framed intentionally as unreliable. It seems as if Katie is goading Effy and attacking her from our perspective but it’s not actually confirmed as true (I believe it probably is because we all know Katie would do that out of spite) and as we know Effy is mentally unstable at this time. Its obvious in her behaviours towards the group that I mentioned before. Effy is almost paranoid in the way she pits other people against one another; it’s probable that Effy believes herself as better or estranged from other people because she is experiencing an altered reality that is disconnected from everyone elses. Effy was already frightened by Cook and this could have had the effect of causing her to hallucinate Katie attacking her. Maybe Katie did attack her as a way to “ruin” Effy’s fun and punish her but it could also be true that Katie was approaching Effy and her hostility towards Effy resulted in Effy believing she was being attacked.
Finally, the aftermath. Effy was judged so harshly for this particular incident because of what happens after the fight. Effy returns to the camp and sleeps with Freddy. Yes I know she was high and not thinking straight but it was also something Effy wanted far before the camping trip. Effy had made it clear she liked Freddy from day 1, yet she rejected him because she was scared of how he made her feel. Katie then started a relationship with Freddy when Effy didn’t want him - she had chosen Cook. The fact that Effy finally acted on her feelings for Freddy only after she has been tripping for hours and potentially hurt his girlfriend severely was the reason the group were disgusted and horrified by what happened. Effy didn’t intentionally try to kill Katie and then sleep with Freddy, but she still harmed her and slept with him. Effy sealed her own coffin when she didn’t fess up as soon as they lost Katie. The fact that she kept silent the whole morning they were trying to find Katie and then anonymously called to report what happened was why the group found her so despicable.
Here’s my interpretation of the Camping Incident: Once the group found Katie they realised that maybe she had a point asking them not to eat hallucinogenic mushrooms in the woods. I think the whole group felt guilty they had ignored her requests and then when she was missing they decided she had left/been able to make her way home without them. In reality they did abandon her there and the shame made them think about what they would do differently. Then Katie woke up and tells them what happened. Suddenly all the shitty things Effy does to everyone on their own or in subtle almost undetectable ways have a platform for examining. I think what happened to Katie made the group see how badly Effy treated everyone around them and in her pain they could see their own. Effy (and Cook) are catalysts for chaos, always taking things too far and being unable to face their mistakes. When the group get together around Katie’s bedside they were shown the result of Effy’s actions and while they didn’t want Effy to go to jail/juvie (I assume since there isn’t a legal battle or any police charges mentioned in later seasons) they are finally ready to cut her out of their lives.
TDLR: The chaos of the camping trip was the impact of the season long toxic behaviour from Effy towards her friends, the result of her use of drugs to cope/numb herself and the consequence of her selfish behaviour. Katie tried to set a boundary that the trip would not have drugs and get out of control, Effy ignored that boundary and encouraged everyone else to do so too. Effy is still responsible for her actions even if she was on drugs, legally thats just how it works. Katie potentially wasn’t even attacking Effy - the scene is meant to be unreliable, even if she was she had been pushed and pushed by Effy so much on that trip that it’s not hard to understand her logic. Katie should not have provoked Effy, but she didn’t deserve to be left in the woods, have her boyfriend be unfaithful to her and almost die because of it.
Essentially, both Effy and Katie fucked around and found out.
The reason I’m making this post if because I like the complexity of the characters on skins I’ve been watching and rewatching this show since I was a teenager. But the way people reduce the camping situation bothers me because se they are ruining the depth of the show to paint Effy as something of a victim. People need to stop ignoring everything Effy did to create the situation that occurred. Yes Katie is a mean bitch but Effy was also a mean bitch y’all just ignore it because shes ~pretty~ and ~cool~ In Gen 2 Effy is the equivalent of Sid in my eyes.
I also an sick of the Katie hate - I get it I used to hate her too but I grew up to understand that her family dynamic was just as fucked up as Effy’s. Katie denied Emilys sexuality only because her own identity was so significantly tied up with Emily. Katie was clearly the “pride” of their family which was pushed on her by their mother - I think her desire to keep Emily in the closet and to be a desirable popular girl is based on the pressure her mother puts on her. Does that mean I agree with Katie’s behaviour? Absolutely not. But at the same time I can recognise that she is human!
Effy is human too. I think it’s an injustice to her character that people don’t acknowledge the fucked up things Effy does and they try to white knight her into being the “victim”. Effy isn’t just a victim, like Katie she is also a human with many facets to who she is. Effy is mysterious and seductive because it allows her to be popular yet for people to never see her vulnerability. Effy instigates conflict in her friendship group because her family has been dysfunctional for so long so it’s normal for her and takes away the potential for other people to see her shitty behaviour. Effy is also a teenager who has had no guidance (honestly her appearance in the first season was genuinely sickening for me to watch as an adult she was so neglected). Effy was a girl who tried to blot out all her emotions with drugs until it finally broke her. Effy self destructs as a form of control, she is very clearly not mentally well. Unfortunately despite the ways she is human she did something that was unforgivable- at least not immediately.
Anyway, thoughts?

2024.05.13 08:50 DravisKyle First Time playing FE Three Hopes and the story & dialogue feels very hard to swallow.

So, I'm kinda new to the FE games, last I played was on the Game Boy Advanced where you controlled a random guy which, surprise-surprise, he's a master tactical commander and everyone obeys him for "reasons".
It's not a criticism, I liked that game, and I liked that your character finally is playable in the battlefield and not just in the background, also, your character has dialogue and a voice (and gender), so huge improvement from what was I used to.
Anyway, whole playing Three Hopes, (I'm playing Empire), I can't help but feeling awkward whenever is my turn to talk or something important happens.
Every time someone shares something important or deep, or concern, your character always has to bring that he/she was a mercenary and your issues are like his/her mercenary life.
Your character is just standing there, while many are showing real concern about invading the Church and innocents life are being murdered, and your are asked how do you feel? "Well, we as mercenary just care about the money, so it doesn't matter for us, pay me"
"I want to make you my general", "but I'm a mercenary", "Yes".
I don't know if this is just me on missing many games before Three Hopes, but almost nothing feels natural.
(I know that I'm at the beginning of the story), but I feel the story is very rushed, in one chapter you are at the Church, then you are invading the Empire, and then you are invading the Church, you are never explained why (probably in the future) other than "Church is bad, Empire good, we invade them", "Yes I'm a mercenary, I do not think for myself, pay me and I'll do it".
Again, is not me throwing dirt at the game but it feels that I'm truly not getting the motives of this, everyone is against this, the very few that are not are the pawns of Eldelgard, which they only say "I'm loyal to her and trust her, no more motive for me", they feel like NPC.
Like this one guy who got his father arrested (or killed) during the invasion at the castle.
He didn't know his father was gonna be arrested/killed, and he just let it go, he didn't pressed on that, it was like 2 lines of dialogue, and he never care after that for having his own father jailed/murdered that same day.
I know I'm with the bad guys, and there are very good and nice characters with them, but truly most of them, including your own character, which only feels "there", never truly adding to anything, other than "I agree, I do not agree, I'm a mercenary we do not care just money".
(Not the character fault, but the writers), does the game change later on?

2024.05.12 14:56 LeonCassidy Missed Opportunity With Infinite Wealth Story

Apologies for formatting. Mobile.
Now that the game has been out for awhile, I wanted to take some time to air out one of my biggest grievances with IW and my way to fix it: Ebina. The villains in IW are, to me, the absolute worst part of the game for me. Bryce's plot is so obviously untenable and stupid even for Yakuza, to the point that Ebina directly points it out and makes fun of him for it in Kiryu's confrontation with him. Meanwhile, the twists regarding Ebina being Ichi's evil half brother is like Yakuza 5 levels of trash villain execution. Its out of left field, and feels like retreading 7's plot beats. On top of that, Kiryu's only connection to him is that he's hurting all of the Yakuza he feels responsible for, meaming he could've just as easily fought Bruce as he could've fought Ebina (its not like Ichi needed to fight Bryce either. Ichi has no connection to him besides a poorly developed and executed one with his mom and generic island children, and considering Kiryu's history adopting children and defending orphanages, it mightve worked better with him).
But you know what character fits Ebina's motivations and has a more intimate connection to Ichiban, while also better testing Ichiban's aputude for forgiveness in a game ALL ABOUT FORGIVENESS??
Kume. Instead of having him unceremoniously arrested in a cutscene at the beginning that I straight up missed when I played, make him take Ebinas place, and let Kiryu and Ichi swap.
Think about it. Kume killed Ichiban's brother (the one we ACTUALLY care about). He HATES the Yakuza past the poinr of allowing them redemption, and after Ryo Aoki's true motives shattered his own world, nuclear cancer torture sounds mad enough to believe for Kume. He even has better connections to Bleach Japan! Meanwhile it would be a test of Ichiban's willingness to forgive. Ichiban has been the arbitrater of so many Yakuza's rehabilitation, and his relationship with Eiji (for some reason) one of the major emotional plot beats as he gries to get Eiji to come back around. But could he forgive the murderer of his brother, at least enough to just send him to jail? Realstically yes, cause its Ichi, but think of how much more emotionally resonant it would be? Kume, who hates the Yakuza so much that he'd send them all to cancer cult island, who is unwilling to accept Ichi can be a good person despite his history, is ultimately shown (some) mercy by the man who by all accounts has the most justified reason to kill him. Ichi having to struggle with a datker urge for vengeance, but KNOWING hes better than that, KNOWING that the he'd prove Kume right by eradicating him, punches just to the side of his head and starts to cry.
And maybe that changes Kume's mind. Or maybe it shatters him and sends him flying out the window. Or maybe he just froths at the mouth in fear, passes out and goes to jail. But in the end, having Kume take Ebina's spot, amd having Ichi fight him while Kiryu wraps up the orphan religion plot (and im just saying, Kiryu being AT THE ISLAND where the Yakuza he feels so strongly responsible for might've been more emotionally resonant too) would've done alot to tie the game better into its own themes, and made a game with (to me) a pretty mid plot with a TERRIBLE third act alot better.
The biggest problem I can think of is that Kume couldn't act publicly after doing what he did. That being said, if you rewatch the scene from 7, no one notices that Kume stabbed him except Ichiban. No one notices Aoki isnt ok until he falls into Ichi's arms. If there wasn't any cameras (maybe a blind spot), it would only be Ichi's word. An ex Yakuza, admittedly riding a high of uncovering a corrupt government official, but still am ex Yakuza. Considering IW's focus on rehabilitation of criminals and the sheer difficulty of navigating public perception, would it be an UNBELIEVABLE plot point that Kume has polished his halo enough to get off due to lack of evidence? That despite all Ichi had done, he was still somewhat limited in his outreach cause of his past?
But what do yall think? For me, I think this wouldve saved IWs story, but I'm just one guy.

2024.05.12 13:12 interventionalhealer Trump and 9/11? A counter theory to the rise of MAGA.

For the sake of transparency, I am not the architect of the following discoveries, and am just helping to forward their message and clean it up. Copywrite of the following work belongs to no one and everyone is not only welcome to share these findings as if they were their own, but openly encouraged to do so.
Introduction
If you think you know anything about MAGA. Trust me, you know nothing. Not even his most devout followers or haters will have considered the following. And for the sake of our democracy and way of life, I hope people read this.
This work may very well help to shift the narrative on Trump in a meaningful and foundational way, but I don't want this work exacerbate any feelings of ill will to MAGA members, for they have been prey to possibly one of the largest con jobs our world has ever seen, especially without the help of this counternarrative.
Snippet From My Thesis On MAGA
As I work on tidying up the master file with the helpful dms I got, allow me to post just the most contentious part of it below, now that it’s able to stand on its own.
MAGA didn’t begin in 2015. I argue it began in 2001 on 9/11, while also harnessing and funneling decades of anti-government resentment till many Americans would openly call for a “wrecking ball” figure to help “drain the swamp.”

A Key Fueling Factor To American Outrage- Inflation
Many elements contributed to growing American anger that would later contribute to MAGA, this is a snippet from the larger work.
Rising Cost of Living
o In 1950, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 24.1. By 2000, it had risen to 168 (a 597% increase), and by 2023, it had reached 304.7, a 1163% increase from 1950.
o Housing prices saw a drastic rise overtime, with the median home price increasing from $7,354 in 1950 to $388,700 in 2023, a staggering 5185% increase.
o While rising rent costs can contribute to overall inflation and cost of living, even the left has largely failed to address how exponentially increasing real estate prices impact the cost of living. This omission has made many other conspiracy theories seem more plausible in its wake.
o If we don’t find real solutions for real estate that also aren’t extreme, then society will feel more and more pressure to accept “unreasonable solutions” like Trump, even though he’s the last person on earth who could solve it, considering his business acumen and history.
MAGA Dynamics and Blind Devotion
In 2016, it wasn't just the left calling the MAGA movement a cult. Trump famously said, "I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters." Even the left failed to grasp the gravity of this statement. As someone who nearly died in a deadly cult and based on my research, I don't know of a single cult where the founder could openly commit murder without losing members. Trump didn't just believe he'd created one of the largest cults ever; he believed he'd created the most fanatical. Let's hope his followers prove him wrong by showing a willingness to criticize him, regardless of their vote.

The MAGA Question
Instead of challenging MAGA supporters on fallacious beliefs, ask them this question to see if they’re at least able to see a world where Trump isn’t a biblical King: "If Trump admitted he was behind 9/11 and used resulting insurance money and donations from hostile governments to create false “grass root” campaigns. And did it all in a way to make it seem like others committed his own atrocities. And that he intended to destroy America in every way if he got elected, would you still vote for him?"

Yet even then, getting through to a MAGA supporter inevitably refers to 9/11 “research” out there when they realize individual positions are usually fallacious. This quagmire me decide to investigate this tragedy, to see if there was a more plausible counter theory. Honestly, the more I looked the more surprised I became. Here are my findings that are but a snippet of my full thesis on MAGA.

9/11 Conspiracy Theories and MAGA
Conspiracy Theories and Credibility:
o First off, conspiracy theories should involve some effort to verify narratives, rather than just repeating claims across multiple sources that mistake themselves as evidence; like a bunch of people who repeat “bob farted” across multiple websites may see that as evidence, when in fact, it was Sean. Sorry Sean.

Early Origins of MAGA:
o Although some believe MAGA began in 2015, its roots lie as early as the 1980s with Rush Limbaugh and later became "serious" on 9/11.
o 9/11 conspiracy theories claim controlled demolitions were used, but the lack of any cellphone recordings of explosions weakens this theory.

Suspicious Factors:
o The official narrative involving chaotic jet fuel leading to a straight fall seemed questionable.
o The collapse of a third building (WTC 7), which wasn’t directly hit, fueled suspicions.
o Airline stocks were heavily shorted before the attacks, raising concerns about insider trading. Harvey Pitt, Republican SEC Chairman at the time, investigated this and claimed there was nothing amiss, but was criticized for later crimes and forced to resign.
o It’s also suspicious that in Trumps 2000 book “The America We Deserve” that he stated, “I really am convinced we’re in danger of the sort of terrorist attacks that will make the [1993] bombing of the Trade Center look like kids playing with firecrackers. No sensible analyst rejects this possibility, and plenty of them, like me, are not wondering if but when it will happen*.”*
§ Yet democrats would largely miss this point entirely and obsess over his false claim that he called for Bin Laden to be killed, when he had not. Somehow conspiracy theorists would find this ‘cool’ rather than suspicious.

Reports and Simplified Narratives:
o FEMA's 2002 report and NIST's 2005 report provided technical explanations of the tower collapses.
o However, the Port Authority Chairman stuck to the oversimplified narrative that "jet fuel melted steel beams," even though he knew this was a half-truth, as detailed in the next section, fueling anti-government conspiracies. The question is why.

Potential Impact:
o 9/11 conspiracy theories sowed distrust in the government, which may have been one of the attackers' objectives. Anyone that heavily profited from this tragedy, and helped further those objects, should be questioned.
o The ‘Loose Change’ “documentary” pointed out suspicious parts of the story, but failed to give any clear claims as to who was purportedly behind it. It also failed to note the Twin Towers titanic design flaw that could result in a straight fall. Even the 2015 version of this film fails to mention nearly all of the known facts in this report.
o The Director of that film later states:
“I DON’T THINK WE’D HAVE PRESIDENT TRUMP IF IT WEREN’T FOR 9/11”
“9/11 created a culture of fear, of xenophobia, this sense of entitlement and everything we’ve seen. Warrantless wire-tapping, Guantanamo Bay, everything that’s happened led us to this point, we wouldn’t be here without 9/11. They want to kick out all the Mexicans and Muslims because of this culture of fear and bigotry and xenophobia that directly led to the election of fucking Donald Trump. [laughing] That’s our world now! We had Reagan before, and Governor Schwarzenegger. But President Donald Trump? It’s just weird. Everything is just weird.”

The Twin Towers and Larry Silverstein
Architectural Pitfalls of the Twin Towers:
· The Twin Towers had unique architectural flaws due to the excessive heavy load on their exoskeletons to allow for more floor and leasing space, which greatly contributed to their straight collapse after the 9/11 attacks. This was the first and last skyscraper made in this way.
· For anyone who said that “any other building would have fallen sideways,” you were right, though perhaps not entirely how you may have imagined. A "Coke Can" analogy shows how a similar weakened structure can result in a straight fall, contrary to conspiracy theories claiming controlled demolitions. This isn't something I'm asking you to take for granted, or to read from media sources you don’t trust. This is something you can verify on your own, in person, in real time, in reality.
· However Trump, despite being close friends with Silverstein as we’ll cover later, claimed "It wasn’t architectural defects, you know, the World Trade Center was always known as a very, very strong building” per the attached PolitiFact article.

Larry Silverstein, The Leasor Of The Twin Towers:
· Nearly went bankrupt after losing his main tenant Drexel Burnham in 1980 after he built tower 7 with him in mind.
· I don't know how many of us understand the level of desperation a situation like this can cause in someone and how many potential crimes it can easily push them towards.
· He is known for then saying, “…looking up at the twin towers and thinking, my building is huge, but it is made diminutive by the twin towers. So I said to myself, wouldn't it be incredible someday to own those?" That's not the statement of a sane person who nearly went bankrupt, and if anything, hints towards jealousy.
· He managed to secure Salomon Brothers two years later, which later paid $300 million in securities fraud penalties casting suspicion over the entities who saved Silverstein, in addition to their overall plans for the future.
· How he would become able to outbid everyone else in 2001, for the right to lease the twin towers, would become a mystery we will untangle later.

The bidding for the World Trade Center lease involved only a few major real estate firms as allowed by the Port Authority Chairman. Below are the allowed bidders and their estimated worth at the time included:

· Donald J. Trump’s Organization:
o Worth around $1.5 billion in 1996 after multiple bankruptcies. Confirmed only by Forbes magazine in 2005.
· Tishman Speyer:
o Valued at approximately $1.8 billion in 2000, would soon face ‘tenant issues’ with many scrupulous legal claims against them.
· Gale & Wentworth:
o Worth a few million.
· Mortimer Zuckerman’s Boston Properties:
o Mortimer Zuckerman alone was worth around $2 billion.
· The Rouse Company:
o Mainly a shopping mall operator.
· Brookfield Properties:
o A Canadian firm valued at over $20 billion in 2000.
· Vornado Realty Trust:
o Worth an estimated $2-3 billion. Had the highest bid, but was unexpectedly outed by the Port Authority Chairman, paving the way for Silverstein’s win. CEO of Vornado Trust, Steven Roth would later do many deals with Trump in 2005 and beyond.
· Larry Silverstein:
o As mentioned, was nearly bankrupt in the 1980s, and was mysteriously awarded the right to lease the World Trade Center contract at $3.2 billion, twice the original asking price of 1.2 Billion. It would still be owned by the Port authority of NY and NJ, he would just own the rights to lease it.
o Port Authority Chairman, Lewis Eisenberg, made this unexplained decision, who also later became Trumps lead fundraiser in 2015.
o After putting down only $125 million, as per the contract, Silverstein would be getting back $100 million just 6 weeks after his bid and with an uncommon terrorist insurance addition. His exaggerated bid and insurance contract would also greatly inflate the amount of money he could get from an insurance claim. If the winning bid was 1.5 billion, the insurance payout would also have been much less.
o In real estate, its quite rare for a prudent investor to bid twice the asking price, as demonstrated by the other companies that backed out, of which I find no connections to Trump.
o If anyone had known about 9/11 ahead of time, like Trump claims he did, it would become drastically easier to outbid all competitors, knowing that for pennies on the dollar, you would be getting much more back.

Giuliani’s Gangster Acts
Arguably, if the above points are what they objectively appear to be, that would be a bad thing. You’d think that would be enough. However, Guliani would say “hold my beer’ to those sentiments.

1. Outdated Equipment for First Responders:
· Due to Giuliani’s inadequate leadership, first responders used old equipment that failed to warn them to evacuate the towers. Which contributed to their deaths while they searched for survivors.

2. Obstructed Recovery Efforts:
· Giuliani delayed proper search and rescue operations for days, possibly costing lives of citizens and first responders who didn’t know they needed to leave.
· 20 Years later he would claim that some of Bidens actions were so reckless that… “It would be as if I got down to ground zero and said take out the firefighters, all you civilians see if you can get yourselves out.” Self report?

4. Survivors Threaten To SUE Guliani For Relief Funds
· Even after privatizing the twin towers fund, Giuliani would make it incredibly difficult for the victims to receive their fair share. Requiring many of them to spend unnecessary money on advisors and consultants.
· Even with their legal pressure, he only agreed to “give the remaining 100 million to victims,” out of 170 million, if he could first put the money into the bank account of a charity in which he controlled.
· From the attached article: “But Harold Schaitberger, president of the International Association of Fire Fighters, said that he remained adamantly opposed to any transfer of funds to Mr. Giuliani's charity.
He also objected to Mr. Giuliani's continued control over even the $15 million in his private charity. Mr. Giuliani, he charged, gives every indication of using the Twin Towers Fund to maintain a staff of loyal supporters and to advance his political aspirations.
'The concern that politics will infiltrate the fund becomes even more apparent when one reviews the list of the mayor's former political appointees who are assuming senior staff positions or serving on the fund's board of directors,'' he wrote in a letter on Monday to Eliot L. Spitzer, the state attorney general.”

· In 2000, Guliani unfortunately got prostate cancer. We have to be willing to ask if this was a motive for his corrupt acts.

Silverstein’s Unscrupulous Greed
1. Initial Settlement Demands and Profit Claims:
· Despite only having been out for $25 million, Silverstein initially sought nearly $8 BILLION in insurance settlements and argued for "loss of revenue from those buildings," which is quite an uncompassionate claim considering how many lost their lives. Talk about a prime example of the working and lower classes making sacrifices while rich elites complain they didn’t profit enough from the same tragedy.
2. Rebuilding Contributions and Insurance Payout:
· Despite the fact that he only owned the leasing rights to the twin towers, ‘Silverstein Properties’ received up to $4 billion from insurance payouts, instead of the Port Authority, which would be customary as the owner.
· While it's assumed that most of that money went to rebuilding, this isn't actually known or proven. It would be different if he had a separate insurance policy that was not connected to the rebuilding of the towers, with different monies going to the Port Authority to rebuild. This was not the case.
History.com: Rebuilding of Ground Zero
· He additionally refused to return the rights of Building 1 to the Port Authority until he secured additional funds from an $8 billion state fund. Talk about heartless.
Wikipedia: Larry Silverstein
· Various entities would contribute a total of $20 billion to rebuild all six damaged or destroyed towers, including four towers leased by Silverstein and two others he hadn't. This makes it unlikely that he had to go out of pocket with his 4 Billion.
3. Estimated Net Worth:
· While earlier records of Silverstein's net worth are unavailable, aside from his near bankruptcy in 1980, he is currently estimated to be worth around $1 billion.

He also made an unfounded claim that he saw thousands of Muslims in New Jersey cheering, a statement that has been widely debunked. Legacy of Suspicion:
These actions paint Trump as one of the more suspicious figures post-9/11, who may have used the tragedy for personal and political gain. His connections with figures like Larry Silverstein and Lewis Eisenberg, the Port Authority chairman, hint at deep financial interests potentially influenced by the 9/11 aftermath. Meanwhile, survivors and first responders faced challenges in securing support, highlighting the disparities between their experiences and the political maneuvers at play. Again morbidly juxtaposing the struggles of the poor and working class versus elite swamp members such as Trump and his ilk.

While being, arguably, one of the more suspicious Americans of potentially “being an insider," Trump would go on to cast doubt everywhere else with his new holier than thou rhetoric and hints and claims that “it was an inside job” for the next 15 years.

What if he was speaking from personal experience.

The Deepfake Dilemma
Now in a world where Trump's followers already discount reality, the emergence of AI-generated deepfakes threatens to further distort the truth. This technology could transform legal standards of evidence, making it easy to dismiss genuine evidence against the right as fabricated, while baseless accusations against the left might be accepted as the long-awaited proof.

The Potential Escalation of MAGA Actions
Given the willingness of MAGA supporters to storm the Capitol on January 6th, bolstered by Trump's incendiary rhetoric, the potential for escalation is alarming. The advent of fabricated images and videos could present unprecedented national security threats.

Trump's Incendiary Rhetoric on January 6th
Trump's speech on January 6th was a clear incitement, as he urged his followers to "fight like hell" to "stop the steal," despite admitting DURING THE SPEECH that there was no evidence of the massive electoral fraud he claimed. As well as his lawyers laughable court “arguments.”
“...while there is no evidence to prove any wrongdoing…”
Npr.Org Read Trumps Jan 6 Speech

This speech, coupled with his undermining of constitutional processes, underscores the risks and intentional deceit of his rhetoric. Too bad Republicans senators and our Supreme Court have either claimed he was above the law, or continue to postpone his court dates till after elections. A wild position when treason is on the table. Did that dude commit treason that claims he wants to become a dictator? I dunno, lets let him potentially get elected and then find out!

Elon Musk's Political Shift
Elon was once very much a leftist, unfortunately in more and more far left “activists” continue to attack him endlessly for not agreeing with them on their own singular issues and perspectives. To them I say congratulations, you successfully pushed the most powerful man on earth into the far right. Great job. Great job.
Elon Musk's journey from a liberal supporter to a figure embraced by the far right highlights the volatile nature of political affiliations in today's polarized environment. His actions since acquiring Twitter—such as promoting unfounded conspiracy theories and making high-profile firings—suggest a departure from his initial free speech advocacy.
Especially when considering he fired Don Lemon from his platform for an interview he found offensive. Canceling opinions you find offensive isn’t free speech, it’s literally the opposite. I’m sure many people were offended by the examples below. What about them?

The Need for a Critical Approach
Supporters of Trump should critically evaluate why he did not pardon the January 6th insurrectionists during his term, despite using them as political leverage now. This pattern of using allies until they are no longer useful is evident throughout his political and personal dealings.
What better example could there possibly be as to what trump truly thinks of his supporters, how sacrificial he sees them as part of his endless narratives, then his refusal and failure to pardon January 6th insurrectionists while still in office?
Of course, anyone “just on the grass” or outside the building should only get a day in jail at most, however people that barged inside the capital should naturally get much more.
And while trump refused to pardon those people before, he now calls them “hostages” and is using them as political bait to a truly wild degree. It's very likely he will make good on this promise to further embolden the narrative that “Democrats are trying to take you down and only I can save you.”
His supporters need to seriously ask, “Why didn’t he pardon us before?”
Also, remember when he claimed he would pay legal fees for supporters that were violent at his rallies, but then seemed to falter and change his mind. Much like how Amber Heard donated her money, “by pledging it.”
List of allies he was quick to discard or dump. And let's face it, all of these people have done more for him than the average MAGA supporter. The only person he cares about is himself.
Trump claims that Mike Pence, the man he vetted more than anyone else, “has gone to the dark side.”
Trump seems to have supported the chants to “Hang Mike Pense,” at least in jest? We hope? There are also no links of him condemning them. Yet admittedly this one point doesn’t have hard evidence like a recording or video as far as I know, it certainly fits his brand.
Mike Flynn, a Trump appointee, later testifies against him.
Trump admits Flynn lied on his behalf, accidentally testifying against him, but does pardon him. As long as you’re colluding with Russia you’re ok it seems?

The Future Under Trump's Influence
Trump's rhetoric about overriding constitutional norms to address what he calls "massive fraud" hints at authoritarian aspirations. His praise for dictators and divisive language further aligns with dangerous historical precedents.

More fraudulent use of lawyers and courts that gets everyone else in trouble but him, with them arguing he's above the law. This further shows how much he will consistently use people for his own ends and then dump them when they're no longer of use.

Naturally there are endless possibilities of what MAGA and dictators around the world decide to do this year and into the future. I believe that the one thing that insinuates when it's time for their next evil actions is dictated by their standings in the polls or when a fellow dictator needs a little more political pressure from war torn inflated oil prices etc.

While writing my thesis, I speculated that dictators globally were uniting, finding mutual benefits in their governance and deceitful tactics. This theory is increasingly recognized as these autocrats appear to be forming a coalition, undermining peaceful unity efforts through conspiracy theories to preserve their power.
Unherd How Autocrats Unite
The True Nature of MAGA
MAGA was never genuinely about speaking truth to power or restoring America's glory. It has been an elaborate scheme funded by immense wealth, perpetuating anti-American sentiments through fabricated grassroots movements by domestic and foreign actors. This movement has primarily enriched a select few power-hungry dictators and may have been responsible for some of our most horrific moments in history in the past and acts yet to come.
Trump and MAGA
While 'MAGA' predates Trump, he conveniently stepped into a role long in the making. Despite occasional deviations from the MAGA ideology, such as promoting vaccines to emphatic boos, Trump has largely embodied its principles. The real architects of MAGA, however, are likely disillusioned with his unpredictable attacks, which contradict their broader agenda of absolute power.

u/neodestiny and friends.
This work may very well help to shift the narrative on Trump in a meaningful and foundational way, but I don't want this work exacerbate any feelings of ill will to MAGA members, for they have been prey to possibly one of the largest con jobs our world has ever seen, especially without the help of this counternarrative.

CNN Fact Check Donald Trump Osama Bin Laden Book Claim

Theoutline Reflecting On Loose Change
o While the director was in the right to ask questions, he failed to ask the most obvious ones.
o However, his lead “researcher,” Jason Bermas, would turn out to be a full blown MAGA wingnut.
Patriot Jason Bermas
o Anyone that would benefit politically and financially from 9/11 should be fully investigated.

LawAndCrime Come On Now

Praising dictators, referring to immigrants as vermin etc, akin to Hitlers rhetoric against “blood mixing.”
More fraudulent use of lawyers and courts that gets everyone else in trouble but him, with them arguing he's above the law. This further shows how much he will consistently use people for his own ends and then dump them when they're no longer of use.

Predicting MAGA 2024 And Beyond
Naturally there are endless possibilities of what MAGA and dictators around the world decide to do this year and into the future. I believe that the one thing that insinuates when it's time for their next evil actions is dictated by their standings in the polls or when a fellow dictator needs a little more political pressure from war torn inflated oil prices etc.
Dictators Unite

CNN Fact Check Donald Trump Osama Bin Laden Book Claim

· For anyone who said that “any other building would have fallen sideways,” you were right, though perhaps not entirely how you may have imagined. o After putting down only $125 million, as per the contract, Silverstein would be getting back $100 million just 6 weeks after his bid and with an uncommon terrorist insurance addition.

NY Times Article: Giuliani’s Preparedness on 9/11

3. Twin Towers Fund and Privatization:
· Giuliani privatized the Twin Towers relief funds, making them unauditable.

· However, there is no evidence of Giuliani making good on this promise.
· There are honestly no words for this. All associates of Guliani should be investigated.
5. Attempted Election Cancellation in 2001:
· Giuliani tried to cancel the 2001 election to stay mayor longer. He even considered removing term limits with Governor Pataki’s support. Similar to how Trump has “joked” about increasing his own term limits.

6. Motive

Silverstein’s Controversial Alignment with Trump
Larry Silverstein's connections and public persona have often been scrutinized. This scrutiny became particularly relevant in 2015 when he publicly displayed his support for Donald Trump:

The Man Who Boasted
When most people witness a tragedy, especially of this size, it takes time for their brains to comprehend what happened, it takes even more time to process it. Thus, anyone who was able to brag about their own assets hours after this tragedy on a radio show, is at least worthy of Investigation, especially if this very event helped reshape a misinformation landscape in which he would thrive as its King.
Politifact – How 911 Attacks Helped Shape Modern Misinformation

· Insensitive Boasts About Building Height:
o Trump also boasted that with the fall of the Twin Towers, his building became the tallest in Manhattan—an inaccurate and insensitive claim given the context.
Independent 9 11 Trump Tallest Building
· Early Claims and Revisions:
o Shortly after 9/11, Donald Trump claimed he saw the second plane hit the towers from his Manhattan apartment. He also made an unfounded claim that he saw thousands of Muslims in New Jersey cheering, a statement that has been widely debunked. Despite varying explanations and suggesting that he saw it on an untraceable video that was “widely covered,” these claims helped fueled significant conspiracy theories. If anything, this was a self-report.

ABC News: Trump Shares New Details About Morning of 9/11

LawAndCrime Come On Now

Far Right Support Examples: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

To predict the future lets base it on known facts:
Apparently, he will help attack our constitution like he may have with the Twin Towers.
“A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution.”
Stated he intended to be a Dictator on day one, but then promises it will be just for a day. Is that how that works? Or is it “Once you go Dictator you don’t go back?”

Trump as a Martyr
Regardless of election outcomes, Trump is poised to claim interference. His rhetoric and the devout belief of his followers in his divine anointment could lead to his martyrdom, especially given his age and the vulnerabilities it brings. This martyrdom could solidify his legacy while serving the interests of MAGA strategists who find him increasingly burdensome even if he “wins.”

2024.05.12 05:53 Throwawaygarbageboi Personal ranking of every CoTM 2 subweapon and character

Preamble:

I ranked subjects on universal usability, so if they have a very important role in one mode or gameplay style but are borderline unusable in the rest, they can still have a decent ranking. This is all my opinion, and I'd like to hear yours since there are several things on this list that I'm contentious on, and despite having completed this game I still have a decent bit to learn.

Ranking:

D Tier

  1. Dagger - Infinite range is no longer unique to Miriam and Soul Vision was mega buffed, eliminating the competition.
  2. Hand Grenade - Has almost zero use cases. Just barely edges out Dagger in terms of WP/dmg efficiency but gets swamped by everything else. Too expensive to be a regular weapon and too weak to be a DPS powerhouse.

C Tier

  1. Partisan - Easily the best coverage of any upwards style sub, but otherwise very underwhelming. Hitting with one partisan does less than 1 damage per WP, and hitting with both does less than 2. It's best unique use is blocking Gremory's orbs in a solo run due to it's infinite pierce, but Drake Cannon can do that, too. Otherwise, it can come in clutch for hitting important targets high up, but almost every other character has a subweapon that does the same thing but cheaper, faster, and stronger.

C+ Tier

  1. Impact Lance - Has only a few use cases throughout the entire game, but is very good when those use cases occur. One is to skip the vertical platforming sections in level 8 during the locusts swarms on episode 1 and solo runs. Another few are the final bosses in episodes 1/solo, and the final episode. She can use it during both fights to get above the bosses final phases and pogo on them for a long time. The flaws include it's bad hitbox, slow speed, and liability against the bosses as both have attacks that will knock her off them and deal major damage. The shortcuts it can take are nice but are far from exclusive to Dominique (Robert can canon-jump, Alfred can create platforms from frozen entities, and Gebel can fly)
  2. Ball and Chain - This is where weapons start to get genuinely good. The larger screens in the game mean the formerly good-enough range on this weapon doesn't quite cut it anymore, and while it has good raw power and decent efficiency, it's pretty slow and precise for what it does. The real crux of this weapon is the fact it takes up space for other sub weapons for Zangetsu, who (unlike other characters) has other sub weapons that are so good they completely outclass this one even considering it's unique function. Also it's completely worthless on Ultimate Zangetsu unlike his other subs.
  3. Rising Wind - This weapon is incredibly strange to rank. It's not bad by any means - fundamentally it's actually pretty amazing. It's efficient, cheap, powerful, and has almost screen wide range. However, being somewhat slow, inaccurate, and lacking coverage aren't it's biggest problem's (although they are considerable) - it's competition. It is HARD outclassed by other options on Dominique - not just other sub weapons, but her regular attacks. Someone like Zangetsu or Alfred would potentially give up one of their existing subs for that, but Dominique has anti-air combat baked into her character due to her upward stabs. It's not a spot Dominique can afford to waste, either due to her other amazing subs.
  4. Electro Crawler - Completely annihilates the ending of stage 6 (one of the hardest parts of the game if left uncountered) and chunks bosses above her, but like impact lance is a little too situational and outclassed by her default kit. Is incredible for a solo run, but ranges from great to useless everywhere else.
  5. Sickle - Unlike Daggers, this is a piercing weapon with half-decent power, especially on multi-hit. Its pseudo-infinite range blends well with its piece as it can cut through projectiles like archer barrages and ninja shurikens, allowing Miriam to either camp back and keep throwing or kite the projectiles to finish the enemy off herself. Its main issue is raw efficiency and consistency - If it only hits once (which isn't uncommon due to the necessity to use it defensively from fullscreen as it's too slow to use up close) it's incredibly inefficient with its WP/dmg ratio, especially if you can't catch it on return. That, combined with its overall middling power and lack of any solo shortcut usage keeps it from being any higher.
  6. Explosive Chain - It's a small boost to Ball and Chain, but it makes a world of difference. It's efficiency is definitely higher up on the list of weapons but again it's outclassed not just by other options but the possibility of Ultimate Zangetsu's charge slash (or even the ever-presence of helm splitter in Soul Eraser and Daizangetsuto runs). The extra range allows it to hit enemies it couldn't before (both with and without jumping) but it still retains the slowness. Like Dominique, it's also a sub-slot on a character that absolutely can not afford to waste it.
  7. Soul Vision - The arguable best sub weapon for Solo Alfred runs - completely useless everywhere else. It increases range, it's safe on usage, it increases DPS, enemies will target it instead of Alfred, it can collect multiple power ups (which are absolutely essential for solo Alfred runs), and it makes you use your normal attack which regenerates WP, making it essentially free. It absolutely carries Alfred solo runs - but that alone doesn't warrant a higher placement.

B Tier

  1. Healing Fruit - Inefficient for what it is, but what it is (is) incredible. It's best used for focusing on a single, essential character's health regeneration as focusing on multiple is too expensive. It can also be used in both normal and solo runs as a pogo-boost as the fruit is bounce-able for a short moment after spawning, allowing for certain power ups to be acquired. Very good.
  2. Demon Essence - Does great damage boosting on paper, but the only things it would be useful on are big enemies (which will die before the damage boost really cumulates) or bosses (which won't stay still/vulnerable long enough to allow for several melee attacks anyway). Also much worse on anybody that isn't Zangetsu since they attack so slow that it won't get the chance to rack up damage.
  3. Rapier - The best upwards focused sub weapon in my opinion. It has the coverage of Robert, the cheapness and power of Zangetsu, and the speed of Dominique. It can create just enough room to walk at the end of stage 6 and has enough range to kill all of the heads on the wall of boss 6 in a single throw - do it twice (which costs nothing due to the WP drops) and the boss is toast. That's not to mention it's so fast and powerful (if all 3 daggers hit) that it's essentially a superior main DPS option to any normal attack by any normal character.
  4. Axe - It was the undisputed second (arguably first) best subweapon in the first game, but it doesn't hold up as well this time around. Not only was it nerfed in damage, but the environment of this game is a lot less friendly to it. Bosses have a lot more health so using it as your primary DPS is too expensive to one-cycle, and it's now outclassed by Drake Canon for that role against things like the 5th Boss. Good news is that she can unlock Hachi exclusive shortcuts since it pierces armor, and it (+ frostcalibur) is still arguably the second best way to beat bosses despite the nerfs, so it's still very powerful. Voltaic Ray absolutely outclasses it even with frostcalibur.
  5. Magic Charm - The second most efficient sub in the entire game. Does great damage, puts enemies in hitlag, and even blocks low projectiles. It's slow and has pitiful range on the ground, but is overall strong nonetheless.

A Tier

  1. Drake Canon - Slaughters boss 5, slaughters every normal enemy (besides stage 7 mechs, but those die in 1-2 hits afterwards), is decent burst DPS against every boss besides 6, and can even be used as a second mid-air jump. That last part sounds innocuous, but can allow for multiple powers the be acquired that some other characters can't get, and is essential for Solo mode. Plus, it can allow for shortcuts to be taken that Robert and other characters aren't supposed to be able to access, and it can even theoretically clutch up as a last-resort double jump if you mess up platforming.
  2. Void Charm - Essentially a catch-all subweapon. It's only weakness (although it is a massive one) is that every route's final boss is basically immune to it. Every enemy and most other bosses dread it, however.
  3. Frostcalibur - Kills every unarmored enemy in one hit, can stunlock bosses to death with Axe, and can be used for platforming with sickle. It's heavily reliant on Drake Canon or Axe to beat bosses and is almost useless in a solo run, so it's too limited and situational for S Tier.

S Tier

  1. Devil Essence - Zangetsu's jump attack becomes the best source of targeted, inexpensive DPS in the game. It's only limit is it's range making it dangerous to use against bosses like Gremory and Beelzebub, and the fact you need to keep using it instead of having a one and done attack, but it's practically nuclear otherwise.
  2. Rapid Scarf - Beats almost every boss (besides the final one in the final episode and the 5th one), beats every normal enemy, and is less expensive than Drake Cannon despite hitting harder. Also unlimited range ftw.
  3. Resurrection Anthem - It can heal up to 56 HP and revive 6 characters if used correctly. It also costs 0 WP and essentially gives you as many as 6 more tries on any boss. It's slow, rare, and is almost useless on a solo run, but otherwise gamebreaking. If it could be used more than once, even if it cost ALL of your WP, it would be the best in the game. It's a lot weaker on legendary difficulty since you can't lose a single character, but if you spread your damage across everyone it still has a good use case.
  4. Flame Sphere - It's damage was nuked into the ground but it's utility remains intact. There's at least two or three ssections in every stage that become cakewalks with this, and legendary mode ghosts are a nightmare without it. It's a little expensive but still FAR more affordable over time than Invincible Iron. Both the Sarcophagus Boss and Gremory are also hard countered by this subweapon, to the point where this dude (https://youtu.be/u8-4aTJuJS8?si=yPkBHkfn55OmQbhJ&t=87m) beat Gremory with Solo Alfred, the worst solo character, in ONE TRY. Just have someone to handle other bosses and the game is essentially won. Outside solo runs it's absolutely game breaking. (Edit: I counted, and assuming we count clones as separate enemies since they appear in different stages and have slightly different behaviors, there are over SEVENTY enemies and hazards that Alfred checks, counters, or is straight up immune to with this, not even counting things like the boulders and possibly tail lasers [I need to test] from boss 5, the fire rain from boss 3, the ice spikes and enemy spawns from boss 4, the slam gas/projectiles/enemy spawners, from boss 2, the everything of boss 6, and Gremory's f$&#+ orbs.)

SS Tier

  1. Immortal Metamorphosis - Skips every platforming section. Also gets ~80% of all upgrades by itself. It's only limit is that Flame Wheel in acquirable in every run that Gebel is except solo, but that doesn't heal it's user, bypass strong enemies, and sometimes cheat death on hit, so this is still viable. Extremely niche in boss rush, but almost imperative everywhere else.
  2. Voltaic Ray - Skips every boss (outside solo runs), and bosses are (IMO) the hardest part of this game.
  3. Invincible Iron - Skips every platforming section AND boss!

Characters Ranked

C Tier

  1. Base Zangetsu - He can't collect a single power up on his own, he can't heal, he can't skip platforming sections, he doesn't have the good boss killers, his DPS options aren't always viable to use and are outclassed, his range is bad, he doesn't get bonus WP like Alfred, Gebel, or Hachi, and he doesn't have any platforming advantages or even good range, regardless of subweapon. He has solid fundamentals, but he's outclassed everywhere else.
  2. Robert - He's cool AF, but he literally doesn't have a single unique-to-him upgrade, and actually misses out on a lot of secrets (health and point bags) because he can't break walls. His range is amazing, but his damage and subweapon costs (minus the Scarf, and possibly Drake Cannon for upgrades) are the worst in the game. He's pretty good all around even in solo mode, but he's an honest character in a game where boss nukes, flight, invulnerability, and mass revival are things. An honest character in a dishonest game.

B Tier (interchangeable)

7/6. Upgraded Zangetsu - He's a walking nuke, and really hard to rank since he's the only character without anything resembling a solo mode dedicated to him (since the final episode and/or legendary difficulty sort of count for Ultimate Zangetsu). I feel he's still held back by his lack of versatility and upgrades, but he'd be A Tier if he could collect any of them. He hits harder than any other character (that isn't a secret bonus), but still has a hard time with things like platforming and bosses like stage 6's, episode 1's finale, the normal final episode final boss, and Gremory's hard version. He's the opposite of characters like Miram, Hachi, and Dominique: He has 1 trick, and that trick is killing everything that gets close to him. He is mostly bad at everything else.
6/7. Miriam - She's a genuinely good character all around, but she also suffers from "fair character" syndrome. She's arguably even stronger than she was in the first game, but this game isn't designed around her like the last one was, so she's worse off overall. Bosses take WAY more damage to kill in this game than in the first and her axe was actually nerfed in damage slightly. Furthermore, since this game requires a lot more upwards attacking in platforming areas for ghosts, frogs, hanging mouth spitters, floating head ceiling spawners, etc. she's going to be using a lot more WP on her upwards throwing dagger, which hurts her longevity and consistency. Everything near the end of every run also hits a decent bit harder, so her formerly "close 2nd best" HP isn't quite so insurmountable (or 2nd best) anymore. Despite ALL of this, she's still pretty good. She can't 1 cycle every boss, facetank everything, effortlessly beat platforming sections, or have the unique trait of infinite range (with subweapons) anymore, but she's still strong enough to get plenty of power ups for solo and final runs and is more than than strong enough to fall back on in group modes if a top tier dies.

A Tier

  1. Gebel - He gets all but 4 power ups on his own, self heals, and skips every platforming section. He's redundant with Alfred's fire shield and Hachi's invulnerability being nearly as good at platforming and he's the worst character in boss rush mode, but otherwise he has a strong role in just about every other mode.
  2. Dominique - The game is designed around her. She has subweapons for every situation, and even if they're not always the best, she's also one of the few characters inherently strong enough to, with enough skill, handle every situation on her own. She's essentially a 7 in every situation, but she also has the completely unique ability to do a full party heal and resurrection, which is a 10/10 trait only she has. She has a use case in every mode, and a strong one at that. Her biggest downside is her solo power ceiling, but that's only a single mode and even then she's versatile enough to get by most situations and grab most power ups. She wouldn't likely be as powerful (relatively, since she'd be the same character) in the first game since it's not designed around her (with things like less characters to heal, not being able to slide, there being almost nothing to bounce off of or super jump to, etc) - it's like a reverse Miriam situation.

S- Tier:

  1. Alfred - He essentially gets to choose between Hachi's invincibility for 1/10 the cost or skipping every single boss in the entire game. He's the worst character solo, but (IMO) top 2 everywhere else. If his subweapons didn't carry over to other characters he'd easily be the worst, but all you have to do is pop off a subweapon then switch to another character and suddenly any situation you have to deal with is solved. He'd be #1 if he could carry 2 subs at once even though he sucks solo, but his boss vs. platforming and bad solo mode inconsistencies keeps him from being a true top tier. Also pseudo-infinite WP ftw.

S+ Tier

  1. Hachi - A master of all trades. He has the best health, pierces enemy armor, the easiest (although less objectively good than Gebel and Ulti-getsu's) platforming, bonus WP from lanterns, he can get several power ups, squash low enemies, and has a get out of jail free card in every situation. His only weaknesses are his big hurtbox and his low attack speed(and by proxy DPS sorta), which aren't issues with patience and pattern knowledge. He's one of 2 characters that's good in every single game mode, regardless of difficulty or allies.

SS Tier

  1. Ultimate Zangetsu - He's the only character so strong that he doesn't even need subweapons, unlike Hachi, Gebel, and Alfred who are good specifically because of their subs. He has some of the best platforming, the best speed (and arguably survivability, since he dodges better due to his dash, so it makes up for his lower health than Hachi, and he kills most things before they threaten him so he doesn't need invincibility), the best range, and the best damage. He's great solo because he's the strongest character and ridiculously versatile, he's great in main playthroughs because he's so strong without subs that other characters don't have to waste WP helping him, and he's even great in boss rush because his unrivaled mobility and damage allow him to dodge stuff and hit bosses in situations when nobody else even comes close. Even in the shoot em' up section of the final episode, he comes pre-packaged with the ability to get every other character's ship weapons. He is truly the Akuma of this game: De-centralized, high skill with high reward, extremely versatile, and purposefully overpowered.

2024.05.11 22:54 VacuousWastrel Floyd Patterson: "The Next Heavyweight Champion"

I've just come across this fantastic article from Sports Illustrated, 1956. Aside from some wonderful 1950s prose, I think it also has quite a bit of interest to anyone interested not just in Patterson but in that era of boxing, its expectations and its place in society.
Do read it all, but for those who don't have time here's a few highlights:
On Patterson's Professional Position Prior to Winning the Title
On Patterson's Character and Private Life
On Patterson's Upbringing
-"This fellow had me on the ropes and he was hitting me and the lights started to go dim and I couldn't hear the crowd any more. Then I remembered that if a fellow's hitting you in the head you must throw a flurry to his belly. I did and he backed up and I knocked him out."
On Boxing in 1956
On Boxing in Society
On the Patterson-Marciano match that never happened
On Patterson's Ambitions
Anyway, do read the whole thing - it's really well written and a great insight into the man and the era.

2024.05.11 22:25 Independent-Gold-260 Kiddo asking to talk to Dad

I don't know how to handle this situation. It's been four weeks almost since I left. Husband has been charged with a felony for strangling me.
My kiddo is just about to turn five and understands that dad went to jail and is in trouble for hurting mom. Mostly, he hasn't said anything about his dad at all, but today he said he missed him. My husband (I WILL be divorcing him, don't worry) asked two weeks ago or so about video chatting with the kiddo and I've tried to get in touch with my victim's advocate at the DA office for advice, but she hasn't answered any of my emails.
I don't want to keep my confused, hurting kiddo from talking to his dad. I also don't want to look, to a family court judge later down the line, like I was being spiteful or not allowing him to talk to his dad or who knows how it might look. I don't know.
I also don't want to do anything to jeopardize the case against him. I want him to go to prison for what he did and I'm afraid if I allow contact or give him an concessions it will hurt my credibility in court or something. This man is dangerous and he's going to kill somebody one day. I am lucky it wasn't me.
Have any of you been in a similar position? I don't know what the smart thing to do is, or what is the best thing for my kiddo. I feel so lost.

2024.05.11 17:20 CoolDevelopment6267 AITA for refusing to abort my baby for a promise to get married

This happened 6 years ago. At the time me (19F) and my boyfriend, now ex (26M), had just gotten our first appointment. Before that we had been living on our bosses land in a run down camper. My boyfriend, lets call him Chris, had a son prior to meeting me, he'll be Jr. Jr would come over every other week and I'd watch him while Chris was at work. Skip to about 4 months later I find out I'm pregnant when I'm fired and sent home from work after throwing up in the back of a pizzeria. A week later I find a cute way to show him we're having a baby. To my surprise he asks if I'm to far along to have an abortion... I say no,and ask why, and he asked me to get rid of it. After, telling him I didn't want to, he starts begging to. He says that "I have a kid already" and "we can try for kids again later". Then he says "would you have an abortion if I promised to marry you". After telling him no multiple times he dropped the subject. 3 Days later I get a call from the local planned parenthood confirming my abortion appointment that I never set up. I miss the appointment and get this call 3 more times before it's too late to abort the baby. Lets skip to when I'm 6 months along. I want you to know just how bad this guy is. A few months later I'm going to baby appointments alone and I find out alone that we're having a girl. A week later Chris's friend gets out of jail for pedophilia. His friend will be called Rob. Rob calls Chris and asks if he could crash at our place. I say no and leave to take a shower. When I come out in a towel Chris is in a video call with Rob and Rob sees me. He then proceeded to ask Chris "yo can I f*** your girl" and he first says no. He continues with "come on man I'll pay ya".Chris asks how much and Rob says $100. Chris then says sure, and they boy start laughing. Thankfully he never comes around. And I know what you are thinking. Did I leave him after he tried to sell me to a pedophile? Sadly no I didn't. I came from a broken family and I didn't want that for my kid. 2 years later tho I left. He started getting involved with crank, which is like meth, and stopped working with the excuse that "I've been working for so long that I shouldn't have to work anymore." Not long after a left he was evicted from the motel apartment he was in because he was 6 months behind on rent. And as far as I know he's currently homeless living in the streets, because he's too good for a job. So AITA?

2024.05.10 22:43 Aromatic-Ad4618 I watched too many mafia movies and TV shows growing up, emulated their behavior and changed my ways. Have I grown as a person or do I still behave the same?

Main section at the bottom paragraph
It sounds dumb, but when I was growing up me and my family were constantly abused, either verbal or physical, and even with my mom it was sexual when she was a child. when I gained sentience i guess is the word, I was like 3 years old. And when I finally did I remember being at the apartment pool with my 2 brothers and our baby sitter nick and his friends. I asked my older brother who it is and he said "that's nick our baby sitter" and I said what does that mean and he said "it's someone who takes care of us and makes sure we're okay" and I thought that's nice. so i cheered for him while we were at the pool. "go nick! you can do it!" and then once we go back inside this fucking asshole beats us. why. Why? because we embarrassed him or some bullshit reason i don't remember. fucking key memory. but not the most important one at the time because not even 2 weeks later after all the beatings back to back this prick lays all of us down, pulls down our pants and hits each and everyone of us in the ass. First it was my older brother, then it was me. And for some reason, I have no fucking clue why, I just wanted to see what would happen if I didn't scream. I didn't cry in pain. so when he hit me I didn't. Then he hit me again, and again until all I did was turn around and say "ow", followed by him slamming the belt on my younger brothers ass. then he went and overdosed in the kitchen on heroin or some shit after beating my mom. As he beat my mom all I heard was her in pain. i have no reason why, but he stopped to do heroin, and when my mom called the cops this cunts uncle or dad or whatever was some important position in the police, got cps called on my mom and we were taken to my grandpas house. this was probably the most important day of my life. It taught me so many lessons it's unreal.
  1. men who are powerful become scared and weak without it
  2. I do not like men who hit women
  3. the police are fucking useless
  4. my family is the most important thing in my life
  5. i hate drug addicts
  6. men are very easy to control
and a bunch of other ones I just can't remember. When I was 7 years old my dad died, I genuinely didn't know anything about him but allegedly I was his favorite. when my mom and my aunt sat us down to tell us this, I thought the right response would be to cry. I didn't want to cry, because I didn't give a shit about him but I faked it. I just made the loud noises and sad face, but there was obviously no tears because i'm not an actor. however the older I grew up the more i realized i hated my dad. the more i realized this fucker is the reason i'm even in this position. because my mom and my dad were married, they were going to have a good life, my mom stopped going to college for this fucking asshole so he could work as a mortician. whatever fuckall reason, we went to montana for like a year or something, and his dumbass ex girlfriend jessica decided to message him and talk about how much she missed him, how much she loves her and wants to be with him. So they did, he divorced my mom, went back to live with jessica and they had a kid named lilith. and the funniest part is jessica is the reason my dad is dead. my mom told me she said he attacked her and she shot him. Which is honestly believable. There's a lot about my dad, the main thigns is he was also abusive to my mom, he was a paranoid bipolar schizophrenic and whichever christian denomination he had involved self-flagellation. he's been arrested for drugs as well as arson. I don't know how my beautiful mother ever found this loser attractive. He's a degenerate. But I do believe that he attacked jessica, despite how much I hate her, I do believe her considering his past. I hate my dad. It sounds generic and bratty, which might just be my cynicism, but in all honesty he's a piece of shit and he got me to where I am today. The problem is that I don't hate myself, I don't hate what I do. I just hate that I have to do it. My mom would've been a nurse, making God knows how much money, and this piece of shit would probably be in a mental hospital or jail for domestic violence. Either way, I'd much rather have my dad abuse my mom, because for some reason I feel like our lives might've been better. We would've lived in montana instead of shithole houston texas. which is another thing I want to talk about.
I grew up completely in houston, I have barely left the state my entire formative life, and I haven't ever gone outside of the country. point is if you know anybody or anything about houston, you know that it's a fucking shithole. fucking ruthless gang bangers coming in from the flood, the fucking crackheads and homeless people who keep coming wherever the fuck i go, it's like I'm a god damn magnet. I go to downtown houston, crackheads, I go to the outside suburbs, fucking homeless people and wannabe gangsters, but I go even further out into the woodlands and katy area, fucking the nicest places I've ever been, there's just fucking wannabe gangsters everywhere. I fucking hate houston. When we went to Austin for vacation one time, there was a guy at this restaurant near us, and he was just being loud and what I thought was completely hostile and sarcastic. This guy wasn't at all. He said to us while we were leaving "hey guys, look I'm sorry for being so loud, I just get really excited about the game." what. what? what the fuck this guy isn't a complete scumbag and is a genuinely nice human? I mean everywhere and anytime I'm in Houston it's a fucking balls challenge with every single man I ever meet trying to be the bigger man and talking about how big their dick is how badly they'd beat whoever's ass and it's the most annyoing shit on earth. Because as they're talking about their dick, in the same conversation they're scared that their girlfriend is going to leave them or cheat on them and how they don't want their girlfriend to dress a certain way for whatever reason. They're not misogynists, they're insecure losers. Whatever happened to the trophy wife thing? I want to show off my girlfriend, dress however you want. Dress like a slut, dress like a grandma I don't care. You're supposed to be for me to show off, not completely but that's what dressing up is for. That's all wearing clothes is about to show yourself off, clothes and personality is all marketing.
Enough schizo rambling, I just wanted to give you an background check I guess. With all of this happening I saw a show that my mom loved watching called Gotham. This was the only show I ever thought was good that my mom watched. in all honesty now that I watch it later on it's kind of pretentious, but regardless that's what I liked. The one character I loved the most was the penguin. Oswald cobblepot was my favorite character. Everything about him was just pathetic, but his demeanor and his mannerisms just made everyone think he was a boss and nobody could fuck with him. That's how I saw him at the time. And the more I looked into it, I realized he was in the gotham mafia. I didn't know what the mafia was, so I looked it up and saw all these movies and tv shows, and I just watched pretty much all of them. And every single time, I saw people who couldn't be fucked with. I saw strong men. I saw people who weren't bullied, who weren't abused who didn't get scammed or their mom get beaten. And even if they did they'd kill and torture them. That's who I wanted to be. I was tired of who I was. I wanted to be just like them. I never even factored in the money part, I just wanted to be like them. And obviously in texas you can't just join the mafia. At the same time my friend mike started talking about the dark web and all this shit. I thought this is the best way for me to do this kind of stuff. I started talking to criminals on there while talking to my online friends and thought I could just take what these criminals are talking about on forums and chatrooms, and just apply it to me and my online friends. And I did, ever since then it's kind of consumed me. It's the only thing I've researched, the only thing I know how to do. I've tried working jobs and doing it the normal way, but everytime I did people and my friends started to treat me differently. They saw me as just another person for them to fuck with. They thought nothing bad would happen and honestly nothing ever did. And here and there I'd dabble into these things again, But one day after I had received my hard earned paycheck I started paying this guy to do these things for me. And all he saw was easy pickings, which I pretty much was in all honesty. And he scammed me out of around $500 of my money that I worked for over the span of months. I mean until then I'd never been scammed in my life. This was the moment honestly, everyone around me I'd tell would just feel bad for me. I don't want people to feel bad for me, I want them to admire what I did, I want them to relish at the fact that they want to do that but they can't. I want to be admired for what I do about things when I am mistreated, just like I was when I was younger. So I found one of his friends that I helped dox (obviously he didn't know) and contacted him to help me understand everything about this guy. It took a little bit but I finally found this prick. I email bombed him for months, his phone was constantly going off full of text messages I sent from multiple yahoo accounts, his house was getting swatted whenever the fuck I felt like it, I didn't want to do anything financially because I don't care about money. I genuinely didn't even want it back. He got me, that's how I saw it. I just wanted to get him. Anytime I wanted, I could just fuck this guy over. And every single time, he would know it was me. That's what I want. That's what I've always wanted. I never read any philsophy books by machiavelli or anything like that but I remember one of the quotes he said was something about how nobody will truly respect you unless they fear you. That might not be true at all, but I feel like it is. My entire life has consisted of this shit, people abuse and mistreat me, my mom, my brothers and my friends. And every single time all I wished was I could do something about it. I can't really stress enough how little I cared about the money. Everytime I'd watch these shows I knew I'd never be able to make as much money as them but I understood their personality. I understood that I wouldn't make it around them. So I tried my best to. At one point before I calmed down we had kidnapped some guy for not paying my friend his money. This is kind of the point I realized what the fuck spiral I was going down and just calmed down. Then I worked the job and the rest is obvious. Now instead of focusing on just fear, I am focusing on money. And honestly fraud and internet crimes just don't pay/aren't worth it anymore. I've taken my skills and I'm focusing on real businesses. Real money. After a lot of growth both in therapy and in my own time. I've realized the flaws of the mafia characters, and they're not all I saw them as. They were drug addicts, abusive and unloyal to women, they were addicted to gambling, I mean jimmy conway had a rigged college basketball game, and with the money he made, he proceeded to bet on other games he couldn't rig. They were just dumb. They were strong willed and didn't take anything from anybody, but they weren't strong enough to deal with their dumbass addictions like gambling and drugs. I don't want to be like that. Everytime I'd watch these movies I never thought that I'm just like them or I want to be them, I just wanted to emulate their strong points. And to a certain point I have. As I write this I realize that I'm everything I wanted these guys to be. I'm not addicted to gambling or drugs, I'm not a cheater, I'm not abusive to women, I'm not rude to people in public who didn't do anything to them, I love who I am. I did commit crimes, I did do things and will do things to people who do me wrong. This guy scammed me on fiverr for something I wanted done and doxxed him, botted his social medias so they get banned, and I'm contemplating email bombing him but. In all honesty I am glad who I am. I don't take shit from people and that's what I could've learned just living in houston, and I did take it too far but I am glad I did. I don't regret anything. I don't hate the people from my past because they're in my past.
TLDR: I watched too many mafia movies growing up, realized they were losers and started acting more like a normal person. In one of my first posts (I don't make that many) I talked about what else I did as a con artist if you are curious.

2024.05.10 20:08 drake_burroughs We're a little early this week, so enjoy a Friday treat! We look at Legion #117 - 120 and Legionnaires #74 - 76

We're a little early this week, so enjoy a Friday treat! We look at Legion #117 - 120 and Legionnaires #74 - 76
Sorry that we're one day early with the posting - real life has taken over and I will be, hopefully, lying by a pool for most of this weekend...
Full disclosure before we begin. I completely missed Legion #117 and didn't realize it until I was almost done this column. What's worse for the creative team is that I didn't even notice until Legion #120. Yeah, lots of wasted paper here.
LSH #117
Things I never thought I'd type: "Thank the gods Scott Kolins is back penciling this book!"
Sensor is still at risk of being cut to pieces by the bad guy's scientist and Invisible Kid and Brainy can't do anything because they're holograms, kinda. Wow, they actually are still using Brainy's discovery. Luckily for everyone, Sensor still has her powers and has made it so everything thinks she's being vivisected while she gets away. Always happy to see characters save themselves!
The villain, Pernisius, powered with the Eternium from the Rock of Eternity, spends a couple of pages battering M'onel around. Nothing important to see here.
We then meet a new character, at Blackstar prison, named Gear. He interfaces with computers and can create organic technology. He immediately spots Sensor and tells them to go after her. Knowing that her powers don't work on tech, they quickly recapture her. Well that's just depressing.
Then, to make things more confusing, Sensor learns that she's no longer going to be cut open for research, she's now going to be working as a slave, just like Gear. Her job is to haul things into some sort of fire pit. I wonder if they're trying to make some sort of reference to what happened on Orando and just completely missed the point.
Am I the only one who's just scratching his head trying to make sense of this? Why did the scientist stop wanting to cut her open? Why is there a slave prison here? Why didn't they call up Ultra Boy to deal with his home planet? Why did they make any of these decisions?
Before the Legion can do anything to save her (how is it that the power of the Legion, with all the myriad of talents, can't get into a crappy building with a force shield?), Gear says he wants to escape to (ignoring everything he's been saying for pages) and he and Sensor are attacked. They fight off the guards and Gear shuts down the place.
I know I say this a lot, but this is so bloody stupid that it's offensive. They want to introduce a new Legionnaire and this is not how you do it.
They free the others and I'm so glad we got this one-issue distraction from the actual battle and problem with Pernisius. Ugh...
Legionnaires #74
It's the wrap up after the big battle with the elementals, so we'll learn who lives, who dies, and whether any permanent changes are coming.
We get our first moment, ever, where Ultra Boy shows a brain and actually questions what Apparition is doing - she's comforting Dragonmage and trying to help him. He points out that everything bad that happened is Dragonmage's fault - which is completely true. But Apparition points out that this doesn't matter - they need to help him recover from his injuries.
We go the battlefield, where Dirk Morgna and Brika, the dryad, have survived the fight and are no longer possessed by the elementals, but the other two died. The team starts trying to help everyone else who fought and who's looking a little worse for wear.
Saturn Girl proceeds to lay into Star Boy for leaving monitor duty to Dreamer and he admits to having made a ton of mistakes. So when other Legionnaires save the day by ignoring their duties (cough... Live Wire... cough...) it's fine but when Thom does...
More changes as Dirk realizes that he now sees everything differently and feels like the elemental is still inside him. Mysa offers to help and he gladly takes her up on it. He also realizes that he's got to help rebuild Tokyo after all the destruction, so Cosmic Boy suggests Magnoball games to raise money... no thought of the millions of people who are dead or injured after Dirk was possessed. But Magnoball!!
In a moment of an actual honest reaction to what's happened, when Dragonmage wakes up, Dirk immediately attacks him and tries to kill him. They drag him off and Dragonmage tries to defend himself, lying that he didn't know what was going to happen. Okay, honestly, if he gets away with this without even the tiniest punishment, even if it's self-inflicted, I won't be happy.
Then Brika finally succumbs to her injuries, but not before getting Mysa and Element Lad to promise to build a memorial for her destroyed planet. Man, she got the worst of all the beings that were possessed and, again, is any Legionnaire actually going to recognize that an entire planet of sentient beings were killed?
Continuing the "we have no idea how to write Live Wire" problem, he shows up from the Outpost and is immediately ripped apart for being a child and acting like an idiot. Not only does Saturn Girl criticize him, but so do Umbra and Chameleon. Again, just no idea why they're doing this and you know there will be no payoff.
Dragonmage continues moping around, watching how the other Legionnaires behave and hopefully he's learning something. For some crazy reason, Cosmic Boy takes time out of helping the others so he can yell at Alux Cuspin while he's in jail. I know they're setting up all of these scenes to show Dragonmage realizing what he did wrong, but this is so heavy-handed and cliched that it's just not working.
We end this issue with two moments that are handled so strangely that I'm not sure if the writers were even thinking clearly as they were happening.
First, Dragonmage surrenders to the Science Police and takes responsibility for everything that he did. Saturn Girl seems to almost want to defend him and then immediately flips and says he's gotta learn from his own mistakes. Also, do the S.P.s even know what they're arresting him for? Was anything explained to them? He basically just walks up, they cuff him, and it's over. They're trying to do something dramatic and just missing the mark.
And then Mysa and Jan build a monument to... Brika. On Mordru's prison planet. What? Why? What? How does that make any sense? How could they think this is what she wanted? Man, this epilogue to the elemental story just didn't work on any level and had so many weird, crazy, and nasty scenes that I'm just scratching my head.
LSH #118 - Your last Alan Davis cover, so enjoy!
We're continuing with a new villain, a Rimborian landlord named Pernisius who's been absorbing the Captain Marvel powers from the remains of what used to be the Rock of Eternity (the source of all the Marvels' powers) and has decided the best thing to do is pull every piece towards his home planet, rebuild it, and be the most powerful being in the universe.
Or, in his words:
I am already the most powerful being -- and of course, the most significant landlord -- in all the universe! I will amass history's greatest real estate empire, starting with -- a new continent here on Rimbor, my flagship property! The continent of Pernisia!
I wonder how drunk you have to be to write dialogue like that.
I also wonder how many times the writers watched the first Christopher Reeve Superman movie (and the only Brandon Routh Superman movie) and thought, "Everyone loves when the villain only cares about real estate!"
It should come as no surprise to anyone that this whole battle ends when Thunder disobeys Invisible Kid's orders, figures out a way to give the Legion the Eternity powers, and defeats the villain.
It should also come as no surprise that the Rock of Eternity is recreated on Rimbor, is nowhere close to the size of the original rock, and they've completely ignored that the Rock is back, in tact, and not part of Rimbor in the future. Once again, the creative team couldn't be bothered to maintain any internal consistency in their own story.
But for the "happy ending", Thunder can go back and forth between the Legion and her home and parents way in the future as she tries to figure out how to bring her powers with her. So she's staying with the team for at least the next couple of issues.
What makes no sense to me is that, by this point in time, the creative team must know this book is heading towards cancellation and a restart. Why not wrap up as many stories as they can?
Legionnaires #75
So one of the two things keeping Legionnaires even slightly more engaging than Legion is the fact that Tom Peyer isn't writing it. Who's the guest writer this issue? If you guessed Peyer, you'll understand my pain.
And, much to my pleasant surprise, he turns in a surprisingly decent one-issue story. Wow! It's not enough for me to take back all of my criticisms of his work, but I will commend him when he does get something right.
Or should I be focusing my ire on McCraw?
Anyway, the premise of this story is that there's some evil ship pretending to be the founding members of the Legion flying around a far-away planet and killing the citizenry. So everyone on the planet is deathly afraid of the Legion and, especially, Saturn Girl, Cosmic Boy, and Live Wire.
When one of them gets off planet and would rather commit suicide than face Spark, the original three go and investigate. They uncover that it's all a huge plot by the king to quell any rebellions and they quickly wreck the ship, throw the king out of palace, and (hehe) make the angry and abused mob swear not to kill their monarch.
I must be honest - I do sometimes love when the Legionnaires are so naive they don't have an even basic understanding of how other beings feel.
Anyway, the art is top notch, again, as Jeff Moy turns in another great issue. The story works and the three actually act like real people, not just glorified cardboard cutouts and, in Live Wire's case, a jerk. And they resolve the "Live Wire's mad he's at the Outpost away from Imra" storyline. I think this might be the first issue where I get the sense the creative team is looking to wrap stuff up before the end of the series.
The single best part of the book, however, is the one page that will probably get glossed over - the final page. We see effigies of the Legion and king being burned in the background. But in the foreground, we see one young girl staring up at the Legion poster with a look of... dare I say hope? Could this planet play a larger part in the future?
Well, of course not, but it was a nice idea.
LSH #119
Is this a Phil Jimenez cover here? Wow... yet another artist who I wish they could get to draw the Legion. Why are they teasing us with these covers? I guess it's like those old George Perez covers over some horrible Steve Ditko Legion.
So let's talk about what kind of logic goes into writing a comic book that's struggling in sales. When you're trying to improve sales, you add characters that will get people to buy the comic. At DC, you add Superman or Batman and sales go up.
Of course, if you just want to keep the book struggling, you add characters from another book that's been cancelled - in this case, L.E.G.I.O.N.
There are really only two interesting things that happen in this issue:
  • We see that Gear has been repaired and, I guess, is part of the team. Unfortunately for him, he ends up being the unlucky being who has to listen to Apparition and M'onel tell their story of one adventure with the L.E.G.I.O.N.
  • We learn that Brainiac 5.1 cheats at video games.
Aside from that, this is a complete throwaway book that doesn't really accomplish anything and, honestly, just makes two heroes look bad. Are we supposed to like M'onel and Apparition more when it's revealed that they were perfectly fine with working with a planet of cannibals and did nothing to stop it? Yes, I know that was L.E.G.I.O.N.'s standard operating procedure, but anyone who didn't read that book would just think they're horrible.
Let's keep limping along...
Legionnaires #76
Wow - XS is back. We haven't seen her in a while, have we? But glad we're getting flashback issues about the L.E.G.I.O.N.
We start in a hospital as the Legion is trying to save an energy being in a crystal... oh no, I remember this... no...
To explain how we got here, we go back to Mordru's planet, where everyone is recovering and we actually get a little character development from Umbra. Wow - finally something that shows who she is.
Dirk Morgna starts seeing some weird, invisible energy being floating around with his new vision powers. Mysa uses her magic to see the energy pattern and she says it seems familiar. That makes no sense, but let's continue. A U.P. officer shoots it, because they're all idiots, and the energy blasts back.
Umbra contains it in a darkfield and then Element Lad changes the dust around it into a crystal. Mysa continues to talk about how it's a familiar presence and then finally gives the big reveal: it's what remains of Atom'X, the member of the Amazers who was killed by Mordru back in Legionnaires #49.
On Medstation One, where they've got Atom'X energy in the crystal, Saturn Girl probes for consciousness and finds that there are actually two people in the energy: Atom'X - Randall Burroughs and Blast-Off of the Workforce - Jahr-Drake Ningle.
Oh no...
The Legion pulls together all the equipment, doctors, and scientists they need (wouldn't want to call Brainy or Lyle, huh?) and they put together a suit to put the energy into.
We get more of Umbra's personality as well, as she keeps referencing her home planet, her culture, and her desire to no longer disgrace herself. As much as I like seeing this, couldn't they have done this before? Ever? Or just make this consistent so we're getting it for every character?
My only big problem with this is that Umbra is being written as almost someone who's got multiple personalities. There's nothing consistent here and it's just making her into a much more unlikable character by the end. Why do this? They're almost turning her into another Andromeda and I don't understand how this makes any sense, especially with everything else they've done with her character before. It also makes no sense for M'onel to hang out with someone so xenophobic.
The energy flies into the suit and it starts moving around. It's a nice red and orange and ugh... and what does it decide to call itself? Drake Burroughs. Which makes no sense but ugh..
Look, I've made no secret that Wildfire is my favorite character but this just seems like a weird way to bring the character back, especially because there was no build up to this at all. I may have missed it, but after a scan over the Mordru story, I don't think they ever named Atom'X or Blast-Off, so just throwing these names out is forcing a round story into a square plot.
This really doesn't work for me at all.
LSH #120
I screwed up and wrote one extra issue this week, so enjoy this bonus... or I'm just rushing to get the end of this...
So guessing by the new Phil Jimenez cover, we've lost Alan Davis for good and he's taken over. Can't say I'm shocked that Davis was done, but it's still a shame that the interiors look so much worse than the interiors.
We also see that Scott Kolins is inking his own work here, so we'll be able to judge if it's him or the inkers that have kinda lowered the quality of the book.
The first half of the book shows the Emerald Eye breaking 4 of the Fatal Five (Mano is no longer a member) out of Takron-Galtos. It actually works as we meet all of the members and they bring back a text piece, pretending to write the marketing plan for the prison. It's a great call back to some older Legion stories... but, yet again, I'm just going to complain that the font they chose is so bad that it's almost unreadable.
We also learn that Takron-Galtos tortures some prisoners (Thanok) and forces other to perform slave labor (The Persuader). Wow. Once again, are you trying to make us sympathetic to the villains? To those two, at least. The Emerald Empress killing everyone near her doesn't really help her cause.
The Eye reveals that it broke the four out so that she can serve the Empress and better focus its skills. Makes absolutely no sense, even less by bonding with the Empress, but they needed to get them back together and chose the simplest way to do it.
To the Legion Outpost we go, where Gates is ranting about how horrible the Legion is while wanting to spend time with Brainiac 5.1 while the rest of the Legion is on vacation. Yet again, we're throwing out character development to return everyone back to their original personalities. Didn't Gates grow a little and accept the usefulness of the Legion? Also, it's a shame that Brainy is so dismissive of Gates' ideas to feed hungry children. That's not a good look. Maybe he's the future version of a .
As they continue to bicker, the Fatal Five (is the Eye a separate member now?) arrive and Gates rushes to fight them off. Thankfully, Brainy joins to help.
Here's one of those moments where the hero is a complete idiot and does something they should never do. To set the scene: The Emerald Eye, the Empress, Thanok, the Persuader, and Validus have just broken into the Outpost to loot and destroy. Gates, whose only power is teleportation, does exactly that and faces them. Why? Why would he do this? He spends so much time ranting about how bad the Legion is but yet rushes into certain death to protect the ship, which he earlier moaned about costing so much money. If it was Ultra Boy or M'onel rushing in, I'd be fine with it. But Gates?
Unfortunately for Gates, they needed to have Brainy save the day, so he gets to be the cannon fodder. Of course, Brainy saves him and escapes. Even worse, Gates then apologizes for rushing into the fight without thinking and Brainy says he envies that Gates acts without thinking. What?
By the end of the issue, Brainy and Gates have escaped and the Fatal Five have taken over the Outpost. Which, of course, means nothing because there are security codes and backups to prevent someone from doing this. Right? I mean Brainy and Lyle woulda thought of that. Right? You mean my work laptop is more secure than the Legion Outpost? Wow this book just gets dumber and dumber.
Luckily we only have five more Legion issues to go.
Our Legionnaire in the spotlight this week... Matter-Eater Lad!!!
Is this canon? Can he eat at super-speed?
https://preview.redd.it/ml11mu8k2nzc1.jpg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2da71f8e4d39371eaa9b8e43ebdd2725293346c5

I've spent a lot of time talking about Matter-Eater Lad before. He became a key member of the 5YL Legion and, since he was one writer's favorite character, got a completely undeserved amount of attention and solo issues. I'm not writing this to offend Tenzil Kem fans, honest. But no one can tell me that the 5YL Legion, with its dense plot lines and mysteries, needed to give him 3 complete solo issues. I'd say the same thing about any Legionnaire.
I also think that his issues in 5YL were so drastically different from the rest of the series that they landed with a thud. I know many found them funny but I didn't. I just found those issues as tributes to the silliness of a lot of the Silver Age stories and were tonally so askew from what the book had become that I looked upon them with dread instead of delight. I will admit that I may be holding that against poor Tenzil as well, which obviously isn't the character's fault, but it does sour my take on the character.
This might offend the fans now - I never thought he should be a Legionnaire and I always felt that Tenzil was a product of the Silver Age that didn't work any other time. Heck, even when he was showing up during 5YL, I just could never justify his membership. His superpower is that he can eat anything. That's it. He's not a great fighter. He's not super smart. He's not a leader. He's not anything else. Funny, maybe, but that's it. But there's only one Legionnaire that I have a harder time with and he's the one no one ever brings back. Poor Condo...
One reader commented that Tenzil represents the Legion at its core - someone who's better than his powers and someone who works to be their best. And the Legion has always been about super-heroes who aren't obviously strong but have a different kind of strength.
So, Bouncing Boy?
My memories of M-E Lad are of him miraculously saving everyone from Omega and then disappearing. He spent a long time catatonic and when he was finally cured, he never came back in any meaningful way. Sorry, but I just don't have any emotional connection to him at all.
But having said all that, I will still argue that he deserves to be in any Legion reboot moving forward and I'd love to see a good creative team turn him into someone that I want to read about. As I've said before, every character is someone's favorite and they should be handled with that level of respect.
Instead of the down votes that I know are coming from this take, I'm going to ask you to do something else - tell me what issues I should be reading that show me just how valuable M-E Lad is. He was a joke in 5YL, he was a playboy and a jerk in SV6, so please don't use those. I actually think his best is during PZH, when he's the chef and team supporter. I like this role for Tenzil and actually think it's the perfect place for him.
But what SilveBronze age issues show just how important M-E Lad is and how he's central to the team? Make me do a deep dive into something I've glossed over.
With that, the gauntlet has been thrown down! Let's hope some of you come back next week as we continue the death march to the end of these books.

2024.05.10 07:32 barnz3000 White collar crime. Why no repayment?

I know we like to rage against violent crime. But white collar crime punishment seems to be equally baffling to me. This guy Hall, for example. Forged signatures rather than paying for chartered engineers to review buildings. And is estimated to have pocketed an additional $560,000. $270,000 which he gave to his church.
And he's been sentenced to 4 years. And has to pay back $85,000.
How come you have to pay back a student loan. No matter what. But you don't have to pay back money you stole?
This happens time and time again with white collar theft. Those pricks that conned $7 million out of a district health board, got a few years in jail. There are millions missing, and some luxury cars still dropping out of the wood work.
If you steal, you are ON-THE-HOOK. In my opinion. Garnished wages, FOR-EVER.
Otherwise, the unethical WILL swing for the fences. Steal the cash, if you get busted, maybe a couple years of reading books worst case.
Doesn't seem "fair" to me.

2024.05.10 01:47 FBIStatMajor Kendrick Lamar is the greatest rapper to ever live and this beef proved it. He has surpassed Tupac, Nas, Jay, Em, Kanye, everybody.

I have a corny long-winded rant to share on why I feel this way:
Not Like Us has the potential to become the greatest diss track ever. It has the bop of California love, the hard-hitting lyrical mindset of a No Vaseline or Hit Em Up, while having quotables that fans catch on to using like Ether. F.A.N. is now becoming a pejorative just like how Nas made Stan popular after Eminem first used it. He flipped the 69 God thing on Certified Pedophile.
And it is going against not some random Compton jerkoff, not MGK, but one of the five defining hip hop artists of the 21st century who has tens of millions of listeners and fans and supporters. This is massively difficult and could have proven to be unpopular. And holy shit, he actually pulled it off.
He made Pusha T's assault on Aubrey look like a limp wristed punch. And Pusha T is an all time great MC with a decorated career and diss on Drake of his own. This month has been humiliating Drake in the process, to the point his career may have jumped the shark while doing even just damage control. God forbid even half the stuff Kendrick said is true regarding the Canadian.
The crazy part? Kendrick MIGHT HAVE MORE TO UNLOAD. This feels like we saw Michael Jordan win his sixth ring at 30 years old. What if he films a Not Like Us video with the 11 year old neglected Daughter of Drake in it? Probably unlikely but I'm not betting against Kendrick on anything at this point. It's probably overkill too, like Kratos punching Hercules' face off in God of War 3 kind of overkill.
Now let's take a step back: Kendrick has dissed Drake in five different ways in a month. Like That is a bravadacious, boastful Muhammad Ali-esque reaffirming message that he's Big Me. 6:16 is a mellower, still critical blasting of Drake, kinda Section 80ish. Not Like Us is a disrespectful as fuck club banger that's about to take over the Internet and even sports stadiums. Euphoria is a methodical bop that compels you to listen and then you make fuck face kinda reactions as you listen to it. Meet the Grahams is pure evil, so sinister you can't help but repeat the last verse ripping Drake fraudulent image apart.
Kendrick has never made an album that sounded the same as a previous release, yet still keeps tremendous quality. Albums that initially polarize even the harshest critics age well and most of the time he is universally praised anyways. His worst formally released album in his catalog might be Damn, and it won a fucking Pulitzer Prize. LMAO.
But I think the one thing Kendrick was missing was an iconic showdown in front of the world, online or in real life, against a major musical competitor, and a lot of people thought that would be J Cole or Drake as time went on but it never happened. It would've been easier for him to outrap either of these two, but Drake is supposedly way more popular, having double to triple the online reach and has a global presence that few rival. Taking that on could've been intimidating or career damaging with the amount of networking Drake has. He's a huge presence, period. Like it or not, Drake has massively influenced American, and global, pop culture. We still subconsciously quote him even in jest at times.
And Kendrick has poured kerosene on that presence and spit fire on the gas trail. He has objectively, utterly humiliated Drake, and whether he is lying or not (and he appears to be mostly truthful) it no longer matters. He won and has the entire rap community on his side right now. It's near universal outside of Drake's diehards, a few notable contrarians like 50 and Game, and major record labels with conflict of interest financially speaking on Drake's side.
Canada, even in major cities, is turning on Drake. The record sales and streaming back this up. God forbid Mr. Degrassi 69 walks into California in public without being catcalled a chomo going forward.
There's literal children and girls that don't even like hip hop making Tik Tok dances to A-MINORRRRRRRRRRR and OV HOOOEEEEE which is extending the Drake bashing indefinitely. It's mid-Spring entering Summer. This song is going to be blasted from Compton to Newfoundland and big bouncy titties, thick assed girls in swimsuits and guys in baggy pants and skinny jeans and dudes on the basketball courts all over the walks of life are going to be C-Walking all over Drake's corpse.
Kendrick Lamar, in the past few weeks, has embodied the phrase "Win the War, then Fight the War" from Sun Tzu. He went in with a plan to utterly destroy Drake and it worked, even when it appeared Drake would at least have half the community side with him by default. J Cole wisely fucked off from engaging Kendrick or otherwise he would've been destroyed too. Nobody is making fun of him anymore for apologizing, for being the Switzerland in this rap WWII conflict.
And this beef, and how it went down systematically, has separated him from everyone else. Even with Ether and Hit Em Up, Nas and Tupac didn't destroy their enemies irreparably. Biggie, Jay-Z and Mobb Deep ultimately have respected legacies. Ice Cube thoroughly dismantled NWA with No Vaseline, but Eazy-E even after being outed as a corrupt business partner has an OG legacy and Dr. Dre is a billionaire producer and businessman.
Kendrick did to Drake what Anderson Silva did to Forrest Griffin in 2009. All his hits hit and Griffin just missed everything before the third knockdown (Not Like Us). It's Germany vs. Brazil in the World Cup winning 7-1 kinda embarrassing at this point.
Maybe Drake re-emerges somehow. Maybe he does enough PR damage control to have a decent career after this. But nothing will be the same as he might put it on one of his older albums.
I don't think it's hyperbole to think about the magnitude of what Kendrick just accomplished. The most he has hitting his image currently, is that Drake and his posse are reminding casual fans and independent neutral viewers that Kendrick cheated on/hit his mother of two kids that he hadn't seen in a while, and that Kendrick is soapbox preachy. I hope he didn't actually hit Whitney or neglect his babies, doubtful as that claim is. Even if that's true, that's not anywhere near as bad as being a fucking child molester or creepy groomer. Hell Tupac went to jail for a year for alleged sexual assault and nobody even brings it up anymore.
That's how bad Drake got destroyed. Rap and R&B fans generally overlook shit (see R Kelly) and there will be a decent plenty that do even in Drake's case. But he has lost his grip over the universe fawning over him. And Kendrick is majorly responsible for that happening. That is quite simply a tremendous accomplishment, one that in my judgement puts Kendrick above the inner circle of rap greats, making him the greatest ever.
And by the way, even if that recent overreaction from some paranoid opinion havers takes place, that "Kendrick could get himself killed for this beef" ever happens, God Forbid, that would only double down the people's love for Kendrick being the 🐐 because we just saw it with MJ, Prince, Tupac, Proof and XXXTentacion. When beloved artists die we push them even higher in legacy. It's a lot like Avon vs Marlo in The Wire. Marlo is Drake, and people like Kendrick, that won the streets in the game, they're Avon.
We are watching history and it's fucking delightful. Kendrick is gonna be more than Alright. He's going to be legendary for this alone, in a long list of legendary accomplishments in his wonderful career.
Above all else, thank you for at least taking on this sissy, fake culture vulture piece of shit, because a lot of us were wanting to see it as the rumors and videos and degenerate stories about Drake, Diddy, etc were emerging the past few years. For someone who is supposed to be boring, Kendrick, you sure made a watershed event in modern music history.

2024.05.10 00:59 Zaki_1052_ My Senior AP Week Reflection - Extremely Long (5 exams, 9 total)

My Senior AP Week Reflection - Extremely Long (5 exams, 9 total)
Context:
I took AP Gov, Chem, Lit, and CSA. I have Calc AB on Monday still (I’m a Senior). I got 5s on APUSH, Lang, HuG, and a three in Bio.
Predicting: Gov-5, Chem-3, Lit-5, CSA-4, Calc-3/2 (hopefully the former). This is going to be an extremely long post of a lot of thoughts, so if you want the tldr, paste it into an LLM.
  1. AP Chem:
The MCQ could really have been a LOT better, I don’t think I did well on that at all, but I think I did alright on the FRQ; I only skipped one part on the second to last question because I was running out of time. But yeah, everyone says the MCQ was just...not it.
Predicting a 3 for this one. Regrets: I wish I had gone over a bit more calorimetry; I thought I knew it but I was a bit rusty on thermo and also equilibrium. This was probably my worst of the four I took so far. I need a 3 for any course credit but a 4 will mean I place into OChem.
I’m used to answering a lot of MCQs like they’re math questions, so some of those definitely threw me off. But just generally, most people seem to have found the MCQ difficult so I think the curve will be decent this year.
Oh! Also, I should mention that this is my teacher's first year teaching - I think at all - as she mentioned having to shadow others at my school. She wasn't particularly good or bad, just kind of there. Kind of like AP Bio. This is the shortest one; there isn’t much to say except that it was difficult, but I passed.
I just regret not taking it last year because it was apparently super easy (and had an amazing teacher at my school). This was probably equivalent to my AP Bio Sophmore year (3), accounting for how much I studied of course (maybe not as much as I should have). Overall: decent, could've been better.
  1. AP Gov:
This was probably my best one, the MCQ was, like, insultingly easy. I took AP Human Geography a few years ago and thought that was the easiest possible exam, but this definitely takes the cake (same teacher btw). I’m probably just used to my teacher’s really bad wording and slightly opinionated multiple choice tests, but this was extremely clear and intuitive in comparison.
Can’t think of any I got wrong, but for the practice I got a few points off the final, this seemed slightly easier. I finished in just under half the time (40 minutes or so). Napped.
For the FRQ, I was pretty much relying on my experience from APUSH last year because we didn't do any in class (weird last minute schedule changes at my school and my teacher ran out of time to practice or really talk about it at all). Even so, I found these a lot easier than APUSH.
A lot of it was either common sense or something I just felt confident in. Humanities have always been my strongest (5 on HuG and APUSH), which is ironic because I'm a STEM major, but these FRQs were just easy.
Had a little under half time left when I finished and spent another 20 minutes looking over it, but I filled out a (kinda cramped) page per question for 1-3 and then an extra 2 pages on that last essay. Looks like I got Question Set 2 (they just released).
I used all the documents (apparently you don't need to, and there's not even a sophistication point??), and argued for social moments, using pluralism and factions from Fed 10 as my counterargument, and talking a LOT about the example of the CRM and MLK with the right to assemble and such.
Protests were already on my mind because I'm going to a UC and I just happened to argue with my parents about this for hours over the weekend, so I got lucky that was my Prompt. Overall definitely predicting a 5, would not be surprised if either I or my friend who I usually compete with got a perfect score (they're going to an Ivy).
  1. AP Lit:
I took this one online, and I already got a 5 on Lang so I apparently didn't even need to take it (found out after I submitted college apps and was looking at credit charts lol). Oh, taking it digital, we started about an hour late due to tech problems, which was annoying. But…
I thought it was pretty decent! I really loved my teacher this year (hopefully my friends don't know my reddit account, but if so, yes I'm sorry he's very terrible). Overall just an amazing class experience.
Seriously though, the guy literally has a PhD in British Literature, he's amazingly insightful and I felt like I learned a lot this year; I definitely would not have gained as many skills as I did analyzing poetry without such a good teacher, and even my big prose essay happened to benefit, so it all worked out!
It just so happens that his two favorite pieces of literature are Hamlet and Madame Bovary. I used the latter for the prompt about missing something (specifically love), but Hamlet would have been great for indecision as well. I reused a lot of my points from our final about how when we think we achieve our desires we're never really satisfied, and how Emma was living in a fantasy world of fairy tale romance.
I also went over the blind beggar and how he saw the missing void in her heart, and how discomfited she was that he recognized that which she refused to — all her relationships were never true love — they were always purely sexual and all her spending and debt that she used to fill that piece of her spirit that was missing in marriage and religion would eventually drive her to suicide.
My teacher's honestly a bit Freudian (sorry, it's true!), but Hamlet obviously is probably even easier to talk about though I don't have the energy to plan another essay rn. Anyways, I'm fairly confident in a 5 for this one as well, even if a couple of the poems from the MCQ (dreams?) kinda threw me off.
Luckily, my teacher gave us a decent framework for setting up complex theses, and forewarned us that they'd ask us to connect the literary technique with the theme (literally our final), so I felt pretty prepared for the other FRQ. He suggested that we say something like:
"While on the surface, the poem appears to be about …, it is actually a vehicle for the author to…", or: "While most readers might conclude that …, on further inspection, the author actually...", which I thought was really smart for forcing yourself to think in complexity rather than giving an easy answer. I know it's a tad bit pretentious though!
My best friend is in the other AP Lit class with a different teacher, and his experience was vastly disparate to mine. Sounds like she tried -futiley- to teach to the exam, while mine went the approach of enhancing our overall Literature and analysis skills. I think you can infer which one I prefer.
Anyways, that one really all came down to the teacher, and I can definitely see how this one (especially the MCQ) could've been harder than last year, especially because while Lang was more SAT-like (790/800), this was decidedly not.
It's like, not even the questions that were bad, the answer choices were just such that you had to choose the least bad answer. Oh, and the nature/summertime thing was weird in that it was way too simple to talk about, but I managed like everyone else did.
  1. AP CSA:
This one was probably the one I'm most disappointed in myself for. I kind of expected a 3 on Chem (even if I was previously gunning for a 4), but I need a 4 for college credit in CompSci. Over the past year, I had gotten really into ML/AI, the former for my final Bioinformatics project on DNA Methylation, and the latter of which I actually learned JavaScript for. I already knew Python from my own curiosity, though I'm rusty and never took the class or exam.
That being said, I was pretty turned off by the teaching of CSE in general, though I'm not sure if that's the CSA class/exam or a more broad failing of just not knowing how to impart programming and make students want to do it (10 people took the exam at my school; there's a problem.).
Just the methodology of testing for it kinda made me hate it, even though I have a lot of fun coding on my own. The fact that MCQ is all about tracing code and is essentially math, where you're the computer and you're calculating what would be put into the compiler just seems stupid to me.
Regardless, from a student perspective, the MCQ was fine, as in I did well enough on it, not that I think it's a valid way to test, though I have no idea how else it would be. I was running slightly low on time, but I knew I would be, mainly because I hate how tedious it is even if the MCQ is technically easy (which it was).
Anyways, enough complaining. Onto the FRQ! It was...OK? Usually I'm pretty decent at writing code, classes and the like, but I wasn't quite expecting the specifications to be so weirdly worded. I guess it parallels the unclear expectations you receive doing CS jobs irl though, so that's fine. Also, last year was apparently harder?
Oh, I should mention that my teacher is retiring next year, so she was extremely checked out and the whole class was basically self-study on Runestone. I'll admit that as a Senior taking CSA as a 7th period, I found more important things to do than to practice writing code I thought I was pretty decent at, so that's definitely on me.
With that said, I didn't fully finish the last question of the FRQ, and while they weren't overly difficult generally, as in I could figure out the concepts they wanted (like math.random) and I managed to remember most of the syntax I had neglected, I definitely should have reviewed Arrays a bit more, as time was a big issue on this one.
Overall, I'm still predicting a 4 for CSA, but if I get unlucky with the curve I could get a 3, which would suck but still give me some course credit for college, just no exemption. My general review would be that it wasn't bad, it was even decent; the test on average was kinda like the Chem FRQ. That's all.
  1. Calc AB:
Obviously, this one is on Monday, so I haven't taken it yet, but I'd like to offer my predictions and thoughts. Math has always been my worst subject by far, but I'm trying for a 3 for college credit, as my Uni is offering a full ride for a month of summer where I can take the rest of Calc 101.
After that, I plan to just take a Semester's worth more of Math (up to Linear Algebra), and then be done. But to do that, I need to place and get a 3. When I took the final practice, I was exactly a point and a half below, so I have some more studying to do.
I should mention that my teacher this year for Calc AB is widely regarded as one of, if not the most, worst/hardest teacher at my school. It's definitely a weed out class, and most of my friends took it over the summer to place into BC with a good teacher rather than suffer my current one.
While I would usually differentiate between a bad teacher and a hard one (my Lit is the perfect example of the latter but not the former), Calc AB is both. I've never felt comfortable asking questions to her, she frequently blows off students, and her attitude just generally makes me hate math even more than I already did.
This year has been a lot of self-study and torture, so I'm really gunning for that 3 to prove her (and myself) wrong. I'm actually taking the class P/F because it does horrible things to my GPA (4.3 instead of 4.66). Anyways, wish me luck on this one!
  1. APUSH:
I took APUSH and Lang last year, and while I didn't really feel the need to study for my 5 in Lang, APUSH was my most difficult class that I probably studied for the most, but my teacher Junior year was probably the best I've ever had, or at least my favorite of all time (my current AP Lit might be technically better).
Yeah, my APUSH teacher really encouraged me to push through on that class and sincerely made me interested in US History. He's also probably why I did so well in AP Gov, so I owe him a “Thank You” when I get back. I ended up applying UCs, which doesn't take rec letters obviously, but if I had requested one, he would definitely be it!
Anyways, I know an amazing teacher isn't possible for most people, but I wish everyone luck on their APUSH Exam on Friday; you can do it!! I got a 5 when I worked for it, and you can too!
7-9. Other APs: Bio, etc,
There isn't much to say about Lang or AP Human Geography. I found them both pretty easy, intuitive, and common sense. Prepare, of course (specifically for the course content of the latter), but they're both guarenteed 5s if you put the work in.
For AP Bio, that was the biggest regret of my high school career. It's actually my major (Biology: Bioinformatics), and I got a 3. I just know I was close to a 4, but also that it was partly my fault for letting bad study habits from COVID bleed into the beginning of my Sophmore year, and I never really caught up.
AP Bio is one of those courses where you need to be prepared from the get-go, especially if your teacher has a somewhat lax but competent teaching style. Not to make excuses for myself or anything, but I actually got COVID the week before, missed my AP HuG Exam (had to do the retake), and recovered the day before the AP Bio.
My brain and studying were just not up to par at all, and I'm confident that if I had worked as hard as I did for APUSH the year after, I definitely would've gotten a 4 or even a 5. So, I wish everyone luck as well on Bio next Thursday, and hope you're prepared!
Conclusion:
For everyone else, I'll be lurking next week around this sub after I take Calc, and I'm confident in everyone to do their best! I'll probably turn off my notifs tomorrow afternoon, so if anyone has questions before then feel free to ask and I'll attempt to respond! Congrats if you got this far in the post, lol, and I hope it was helpful!

2024.05.09 21:37 DyingOnHills Drake has a clear pattern of predatory behavior towards minors - here's proof

This is a long read.
TL;DR: Drake is a creep with a clear pattern of predatory behavior towards many minors and I have the receipts to back it up.
INTRODUCTION
This is a comprehensive post regarding Drake's extremely questionable behavior regarding minors and young women in general. There's more than 70 links in this post to various sources and over 30.000 characters.
If you want to repost, make a YouTube video, an article, a TikTok or Twitter thread then do it - I do not need credit, I do not care - I only want this information to be spread.
This post will serve as an archive that people can refer back to or use as a source to back up their claims.
Let me be clear - I do not like Drake. I've thought the guy was a creep ever since the Millie Bobby Brown video and I despise him - but I'll still try to remain as objective as possible here, you know my bias now though.
This thread is partly based on this thread from 2022
Read this comment for edits I've made to the post.

THE 17 YEAR OLD AT A SHOW
Drake is performing at a show in Ogden, Denver where he calls a girl up on stage. I really encourage you to watch this yourself, but since I know the majority of you won't watch it, I've described it for you below.
Video starts with her on stage, he asks her name, where she is from, asks the crowd to welcome her to the stage and tells her she looks great. He then asks her to give him two seconds because "I gotta be ready for you".
He wipes off his sweat with a towel and proceeds to take her hand, put it on his shoulder, his hand on her hip/back and they slow dance for a few seconds. He spins her around and stop her with her back facing him. This is when it starts to get.. really weird.
Drake says "I told you I like your hair, right, what is it, like herbal essence or something?" while he's caressing her shoulder and smelling her hair. He says something I can't hear properly, puts the mic down and exposes her upper back and neck by pulling her shirt collar down. The crowd goes wild. He then starts kissing her shoulder and neck, putting her arms around her and fondle her breast.
A few seconds later he picks up the mic again and says "you can't have me carried away again before I get in trouble - how old are you?" She responds "17". The crowd has a mixed reaction - Drake says something that is hard to make out, because of the crowd but when it's clear he says "I can't go to jail yet, man - 17? Why do you look like that? You thick - look at all this!"
It's hard to make out exactly what he says afterwards because of the poor quality (2011 zoomed video at a concert, it's bad..), but he says something about it bringing them (the 17 year old and Drake) to a close and follows it up with "I got one question for you (...) I just want to know if (something about women in Colorado), I should just take one opportunity to take one home?"
The girl nods "As a Colorado woman you'd enjoy that?" "Well, listen 17, I had fun - I don't know if I should feel guilty or not, but I had fun. I liked the way your breasts felt against my chest. I just want to thank you." He then puts the mic down again, grabs her hand and kisses it. You might think that was a little over the top, but he then immediately follows it up by putting his hand on her chin and kissing both of her cheeks, her forehead and then on her fucking lips.
I think he asks her to walk off stage, it's hard to make out, but then he says "It's okay. I'm only 23, I can do shit like that. It's all good, you know what I'm saying" and the video ends.
Addition: I know this girl has said she was not offended, violated, whatever you want to call it, but that's not the point. And I do not mean to sound like a complete dick, but it's not about her - it's about Drake and proving his pattern of behavior over many instances. If you stopped here because she denied it, you completely missed the point.
Drake's age: 23
MILLIE BOBBY BROWN
Now this video was what really made me do a double take on Drake. Now, there's one very important fact to establish here and that is that Millie Bobby Brown at the time of this interview (18. September 2018) is 14 (Born 19. February 2004). I'll quickly transcribe the interview here:
Interviewer:
What about your relationship with Drake, tell me about your friendship, how did this all come about?
Millie Bobby Brown:
I love him. I met him in Australia and he's honestly so fantastic and a great friend and a great role model. You know we text - we just texted each other the other day and he was like "I miss you so much" and I was like "I miss you more". He's coming to Atlanta, so I'm definitely gonna go and see him and I'm so excited.
Interviewer 2:
You and Drake? That's awesome. That's awesome..
Interviewer:
What advice does he give you? What does he say?
MMB:
About boys he helps me, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah he's great. He's wonderful, I love him.
Interviewer:
What's his advice with boys?
MMB:
Ehm, you know.. That stays in the text messages.
I'm sure it's obvious what is wrong here and I don't need to spell it out for any of you, but I do have one thing to add. If Drake is giving advice about boys and telling her "I miss you so much" they must have talked for a while. It's not something you say after knowing a person for a week. We are talking months at least. There's 7 months between her birthday and the interview - did Drake already start talking to her when she was 13? It would make sense that Drake was in Australia during their summer (Dec-Feb) for festivals/concerts/vacation.
Millie has only commented on this once which was a few days later in a story on Instagram
I don't want or mean to infantilize her, but she was 14. She would have no chance of knowing if Drake actually was grooming her. There's not a chance that she could understand the dynamic at play and why it's wrong at that age.
Drake also defended their friendship on the song Another Late Night when he raps:
Weirdos in my comments talkin' 'bout some Millie Bobby, look
Bring them jokes up to the gang, we get to really flockin'
Ironically enough that very same song is also connected to the next person
Drake's age: 33
BILLIE EILISH
The year after the Millie Bobby Brown controversy Drake gets caught texting a minor again and this time it's Billie Eilish. She does a yearly interview with Vanity Fair, and in the 2019 version she's asked who's her most famous contact in her phone. That's when she reveals she's been texting with Drake and that he's so very nice to her. Billie is at the time of the interview (released 25. November 2019) 17 (born 18. December 2001).
Billie did defend Drake and their texting in an interview with Vogue ~3 months later:
“The internet is such a stupid-ass mess right now,” says Eilish, who quit Twitter in 2018. “Everybody’s so sensitive. A grown man can’t be a fan of an artist? There are so many people that the internet should be more worried about. Like, you’re really going to say that Drake is creepy because he’s a fan of mine, and then you’re going to go vote for Trump? What the fuck is that shit?”
On the song Another Late Night where Drake mentions Millie Bobby Brown, Lil Yachty is featured (one of Drake's gho.. co-writers) and he raps the line:
I let her go, she fine as hell but baby wasn't stylish (Yeah)
She had big tits like Billie Eilish but she couldn't sing (Drip)
Now - I know this is not Drake, I just thought it was a 'funny' coincidence that these two women are connected through their shared experiences with Drake and this song. On another note some might say that Drake should have asked Yachty to omit this line if he really was a friend of Billie Eilish since she has been quite vocal about sexualization of herself and women in general.
Drake's age: 34
BELLA HARRIS
This one is pretty fucking bad in my opinion. Bella Harris is the daughter of Jimmy Jam who's a record producer, songwriter etc. and has been very successful. Through him she's been in and around the entertainment/music business her whole life and met Drake that way.
There's an archive of photos posted here that contains the old IG posts she had with Drake. The first one was on May 5th, 2016 - Bella Harris is born 20. April, 2000. She had just turned 16 at the time.
Objectively I think they are defendable since they are all music related - Rihanna concert, Summer Sixteen Tour (ironic name..) and the American Music Awards, but then two years later they reportedly start dating and that makes it really difficult to believe, especially with the last archived photo of them in 2018. Also the same photo that is referenced in this article talking about Drake renting an entire restaurant for an intimate dinner between them.
Note that E! have confirmed it and are not backing down on their claim despite Harris denying it on Instagram.
Her father liked this post on Instagram about the whole situation. It's not particular to the restaurant or previous potential dating it's more so a general declaration of support for Drake, but that includes the PDF-file allegations.
Him supporting Drake made me search for more information, because I wanted to find whether or not he had spoken about it at the time. That led me to this article where her mother, Lisa, is being asked a few questions regarding Bella.
I was surprised Jimmy Jam hasn't introduced Bella to Drake, Rihanna or anybody else in the music world she is interested in meeting.
"No," said Lisa. "She loves Rihanna, she loves Beyoncé. [Bella has met Bey; her brother Max has met Ri-Ri.] She hasn't met Drake. Too old."
Lisa Harris about a photo of Bella (included in the article) - Bella is 14, almost 15 at the time.
I think Drake would behave himself around a child, even one dressed like this, to wit: Mom doesn't think this photo is too sexy, in all its legginess?
"SHE'S WEARING A BATHING SUIT and a coat!" said Lisa. "Sexy? What? My point is it's a body business, so I don't look at it [that way]. It's a posed picture. She has a one-piece bathing suit on. It's artistic."
Drake's age: 29-31
KYLIE JENNER
Ever since the Kanye (also fuck Kanye for the record) vs. Drake beef we (or I at least) became aware of the fact that Drake has had a long relationship with the Kardashians/Jenners and known them for many, many years. In fact Drake performed at Kylie's sweet 16 back in 2013. You know what that Sweet 16 was specifically remembered for as well? Drake kissing Kylie on the cheek in front of everyone, including her then boyfriend Jaden Smith.
That's not out of the ordinary and would be 'normal', if it wasn't for the clear pattern that is going on here, because guess what - 6 years later Drake and Kylie reportedly start dating, well.. dating/fucking/whatever you wanna call it. Admittedly this article is easily dismissed as paparazzi journalism and clickbait, but what if I told you that Drake has rapped this:
Yeah, I’m a hater to society/Real shit, Kylie Jenner that’s a side piece/Yeah, I got 20 muthafuckas in’ Kylies.
You probably wouldn't have heard it, since it was on an unreleased track played on an Instagram Live back in 2020, but it does make it seem pretty likely that he did actually hook up with her, especially considering the response Drake posted
“A song that mark ran last night on night owl sound live set shouldn’t have been played,” he wrote, “It’s a song that leaked 3 years ago and got scrapped shortly after. He was just going too deep in the drake/future catalogue. Last thing I’d want to do is wake up having any friends of mine feeling disrespected so I just had to say that to start off the day.”
Kylie was 22 at the time they reportedly hooked up.
Drake's age at Kylie's Sweet 16: 26
Drake's age when they hooked up: 33
HAILEY BALDWIN (NOW BIEBER)
In 2016 there were reports that Hailey and Drake were dating. Apparently they hooked up at a party that Drake hosted, where another attendee is also mentioned that seems oddly relevant:
Drake and Hailey weren't the only ones getting close, with Kylie Jenner and rumoured new boyfriend PartyNextDoor were seen "making out" at the party.
"It was almost like she was trying to make a statement," an insider added.
Now again - there's nothing illegal in a 11 year age difference and dating a 19-year old as 30. It's weird, yes. But again we come back to the pattern. Why do Drake know Hailey? Through their similar friends and friend group (Kardashians/Jenners). How long has Drake known Hailey? Well, when Hailey was 19, she said they had known each other for a long time.
We can actually get even closer with certainty since we know that Hailey attended Kylie's Sweet 16 in August, 2013. Hailey is born 22. November 1996, so she was also 16 at the time. So it's another girl that Drake has known since she was a minor and started dating when he got the opportunity. This is not normal.
Another pattern that Drake also seem to follow is that likes to hook up with his friends girl. We know for a fact that he hooked up with Lil Wayne's girlfriend while he was in prison. He not only rap about it, but also admit it in an interview. It's not really hard to believe that he did the same with Bieber.
Drake's age at Kylie's Sweet Sixteen: 26
Drake's age when they hooked up: 29
CYDNEY CHRISTINE (LIL CC)
Cydney Christine is a beatmaker and model - she produced the Drake song Money In The Grave and in a Complex interview/roundtable she talks about it and Drake.
Really the only artist I reached out to is Drake. I'd never met him, never spoke to him, I don't know why, but he has been following me for the past like 6 years. I don't know why..
This interview was uploaded 17. December 2019, Cydney Christine's is born 21. July, 1997, meaning she was 22 at the time of the interview and 15-16 when Drake started following her. This is somewhat innocent but strange since Drake is 27 at the time. That's not what is really weird though.
In March 2023, Lil CC is on the No Jumper podcast and here she speaks about Drake and having her debut beat being a Drake single.
Lil CC: I played basketball, right, so he really was a fan or not a fan, sorry, supported one of my teammates at the time um..
Adam 22: And this is when you are in high school?
Lil CC: Yeah, in high school. So he was a fan of women's basketball - high school basketball - I was her teammate so he followed me because of her, and I was like "oh shit, bitch, you got Drake to follow me, like what the hell? Like that's so crazy". So he followed me and I lost it - I have to meet Drake, I love Drake, I've always loved Drake, still love Drake.
There's more to the conversation, but the relevant part is here is that it's just very, very strange for Drake to be a women's high school basketball fan. They are 16 at the time. He's a supporter of a 16 year old female high school basketball player as a 27 year old grown adult man. He has not hooked up with her, dated or anything of the sorts that we know of or that she has told - for the record.
Drake's age: ~27
AALIYAH
It's not like I have whole section for this, but his obsession with Aaliyah is just another part of the pattern. I don't have a lot to contribute here, but if you don't know Aaliyah's story I'd recommend reading her Wikipedia and specifically the section about her personal life. If you think that 'obsession' is too strong a word for how much Drake admires her, I think you should take a look at this Complex article from 2018 and reconsider.
UNCONFIRMED STORIES
(I will continuously update it whenever I find or get sent new information to add here.)
“He finds the girls and then he interviews them, and out of all the girls he interviews, he picks the one that he thinks is the best,” she continued. “Then, he drives her to Drake’s place, Drake has sex with her, and then he drives her home. So, basically, Drake has his own private Tinder.”
I'm sure you guys won't believe me, but this is the type of situation where someone vanishing and telling you is the best you'll get.
  • This YouTube comment about a girl claiming to be a victim of trafficking in Toronto in 2015 and that Drake had ties in all these circles.
  • This article from 2016, where Drake and his buddy get aggressive with an amateur photographer for taking pictures of Drake and two women. This isn't strange in and of itself, but then there's this post from 2018
From the article:
The mystery women were dressed identically in matching white parkas, skinny tan pants, tan boots and ponytail hairstyles.
From the post:
Maybe this foreign born one named A+ list singerapper should have told the whole story about his split with a fellow foreign born A+ lister. How she caught him more than once with another woman and his fascination for watching porn involving women wearing pigtails.
This foreign born A+ list singerapper asked for all kinds of photos from not only the 18 year old he is dating but at least two other 18 year old females and he didn't make sure they were 18 before he started asking.
That teen, who was topless in the dressing room of this foreign born A+ list singerapper last night was nowhere in the ballpark of being legal.
  • This one is fucking WEIRD - some guy was jerking off and noticed something. Now there's plenty of reasons as to why they would do this, it's porn and they need a story. But then there's this post from 2017:
This one named foreign born A list rapper is going around telling porn stars he is starting his own porn company. It is just his excuse to have sex with them all and not pay.
Drake
The former stripper and Instagram model wrote: "Drake forced me to perform oral on him. It wasn't your ordinary oral it was more so a fetish." She then describes how he told her to spit into a cup "until he had measured it."
If Kendrick mentions anything about dog bowls or birthday parties in Toronto, then shit is more serious than we thought
The woman who had a Twitter thread similar to this post that ended up deleting her account made an entire YouTube video out of it you can find here.

You got a baby Benz, you got some bad friends
High school pics, you was even bad then
"If amazing was a young bitch I'd be going to jail...cause I'm fucking amazing" - Me
Just for clarity, I feel disgusted, I'm too respected
If I was fucking young girls, I promise I'd have been arrested
I'm way too famous for this shit you just suggested
Only fuckin' with Whitneys, not Millie Bobby Browns, I'd never look twice at no teenager
In 2014, Baka was arrested and charged with forcing a 22-year-old woman into prostitution and taking her money. In 2015, he pleaded guilty to assaulting the woman and an unrelated weapons charge.
(DIS)HONORABLE MENTION
I know people say Jorja Smith, and I do agree that dating a 19-year old as a 30-year old man is weird and rather pathetic, but every other girl mentioned is related to minors. Their relationship if you can call it that was for sure toxic, and it seems like Drake was a piece of shit abusing the power dynamic between them. This is taken from the Drizzy subreddit, but I can't provide the source since that gets the post blacklisted as it's temporarily banned because of brigading.
In “Summer Games” Drake also says ”I kept it decent, even the secrets, kept it between you and I”. What secrets exactly? Well in Jaded, Drake says this woman “told him all her insecurities”.
It’s also interesting that the song “Summer Games” is about a woman who broke up with Drake right at the beginning of the summer. Drake and Jorja were dating in April of 2017 which is right before the summer starts and only lasted a couple weeks.
But that's all there is to it. I can't dig up anything else, so unless someone have something credible with sources, I don't think there's good enough reason to add her to the list further up.
FINAL NOTE
I know there's very real questions about the reliability of CDAN and that he was exposed, but in the very same article The Daily Beast refers back to one of their old articles on the subject which definitely confirms that he had/have industry ties and do know a lot. Another reddit user dove further in and made some compelling arguments, but remember to take it with a (big) grain of salt.
If you have anything to add, please post it in the comments and if credible/sourced I'll put it in the post. If I got anything wrong please correct me and I'll edit it. If you have sources that contradict anything in the post, please also share them with me and I'll include them.
Please share this anywhere you want. I don't care about credit. If any media outlets wants to use it for their article or whatever, please do - feel free. You do not need to ask permission.

2024.05.09 17:15 Foulmouthedleon My Restoration: The First 100 Days

I do want to preface this by saying that I have sent this to a moderator (Agile_necessary) prior to posting and he's given it the "green light." This is in no way meant to upset or offend anyone. Just wanted to get that out of the way.
That said, let's get started.
By no means am I the President of the United States, so please don’t think that I think I’m something I’m not. I’m not. If you don’t get that reference – don’t worry about it. If you do, I assure you that this post is sure to entertain (and perhaps even enlighten).
Foreskin restoration. If you’d have told me that term at the beginning of 2024 I’d have probably said “Say what?” And I wish I could retrace the steps that led me here. Though I’ve been a “redditor” for 7 years (according to my profile), I’ve rarely used this widely used platform. But…here I am and here we are.
I’ll preface this by saying this will be a LONG post, so those of you who like the TL;DR stuff I’ll put that at the bottom. But if you’ve got a few minutes to kill, it might be worth the read. This isn’t an arbitrary post – I’ve put a lot of time into it as have we all with our restoring.
At the risk of sounding selfish, all the viewpoints in this will be related to, well, me. I’m just telling things from my point of view, what I’ve learned, what I’ve observed and what I’ve done (and hope to accomplish). And I’ll likely overuse parenthesis (because I like to).
About me
I’m 51 years old and I’m using my birthday as an official start date of my restoration. Maybe that’s the genesis and maybe not. But it’s a date I won’t forget and it’s about 99% accurate. I, like many/most of you, was circumcised when I was only a few days old. But unlike a lot of folks here, it was never an issue for me. I started masturbating when I was a teenager (again, like most folks here), had girlfriends and now a wife of 14 years (today, actually…yay!). Being able to climax was never an issue for me nor did I stand out in the high school locker room or in my fraternity’s shower. Everyone looked like me. And I was fine with that. Simply put…everything in my life, sexually, was fine. I never had any issues with self-esteem and so forth.
Why restore?
Ok, so if everything was going so swimmingly then why rock the boat? Well, I’ve always considered myself the black sheep of my family and, well, I’m sure those that know me would easily agree. So, when I stumbled across foreskin restoration my eyes immediately lit up and I verbally said “Oh shit! Is this really a thing?” I’ve never been envious of anyone who wasn’t circumcised, and, to date, I think I’ve only seen one dude “in the wild” that was. If anyone was curious, it was some old guy who’s probably dead now and it was in the shower at Kansas State University. I’m a swimmer and was in the shower after practice. I remember seeing it and was like “Whoa. That’s weird-looking.” Oh, and I was in Rome (or maybe it was Florence, I can’t remember) a few years ago and saw the statue of David and distinctly remember saying “I take it David wasn’t cut.” It amused me more than anyone I was with then again most of my life has been me entertaining myself for the hell of it. Whatever. I’m not a stand-up comic. I work in Marketing.
But, to my point…why restore? I figured that I’d give it a shot and if it worked, then I’d continue. If not, things weren’t really “broken” so I figured that I’d be no worse off than when I started. Prior to taking my hands or any other device to my “most vital organ” I figured I’d seek the advice of a professional. Here’s a link to my consult with a Urologist. It didn’t go as I’d planned. But as I’ve seen, the medical community in the United States and circumcision don’t really go hand in hand. I figured that no matter what he said, I’d use some common sense and proceed anyway. And I did. And I haven’t looked back.
OK, so now what?
I’ve visited with a physician; I’ve done plenty of reading and have tried to wrap my head around the various terms (more on that later) and now I’ve got to start stretching the skin on my penis in the hopes of lengthening it to look (about 80-90% of what it could/should look like) “better.” Good lord – what have I gotten myself into?
Do you drive stick?
Some of our younger members might not be familiar with a stick shift (or manual transmission), but I took three days of my life to be able to do it and, yep, it’s like riding a bike…once you learn, you never forget. By the way, the “stick” was meant to imply manual. I guess if I have to explain my humor, it’s not very funny. Oh, and that bolded line is a reference to Boyz N’ The Hood. Check it out.
Manual methods…yep, number two was it for me. Grab the base, stretch the top and induce mitosis. It sounds so easy, doesn’t it? It is. It really is. But when you’re working from home and leading a call in front of 200 people it’s kind of hard to say “Hey, I gotta do MM2. Give me a few.” Well, I guess I could do that, but I’d be looking for a new job in no time. And if I’m at the gym or in the car, etc. You get the idea. Manual methods are great, but sometimes they’re not conducive to our daily schedules. So…what to do? Oh, I know – I’ll buy a DTR Dual Tension device. And I’ll buy a Mantor DS. They seem to be highly-regarded, so why not? Nope. See, the thing is that you need some extra skin (which I didn’t have). And though after a few weeks of doing manual methods when I’d remember, it just wasn’t enough. And for someone who gets easily frustrated, it can be somewhat frustrating. Enter the Stealth Retainer.
(Horns sounding)
I’d read Spiritfu’s post (someone who I credit with keeping me “in the game”) on packers. I wasn’t too fond of the name, but…so what (I’m a Chiefs fan, for what it’s worth)? I reached out to him and picked his brain and got his input. I figured, “Ok, well that sounds easy enough. Put it on, forget about it and all is well.” There’s more to it than that, of course, but in a nutshell – that’s it. I bought a device from someone on Etsy. It arrived in about 23 pieces. I didn’t think that was right. It wasn’t. Oops. He refunded my money. No harm, no foul. But I went to Stealth Retainers site and ordered the appropriately-named “Starter Kit.” Hey, we’ve all got to start somewhere. I’d also purchased some other devices in the interim like a TLC cone (that didn’t work), Chris’ retainer for the DTR (an integral part of this process) and…something else that I can’t seem to remember. Ok, so now I’ve got this gripper thing at the end of my penis and I’ve got some…thing at the end of that (a ball tugger). Now what? Is this it? Is this all I have to do? Well…yes. And no. There’s always a “No” isn’t there? It wasn’t long after I got the Starter Kit that I figured I needed a little something extra.
Weights. Yeah man…weights! But…wait? Do you like homophones? I love ‘em.
Kidding aside. Well, I guess if you take kidding aside, then disregard this post. But yes, I felt that I needed a little something extra dangling. I mean, if it’s all about tension and tension induces mitosis then more weight would be just what I need. But not too much. No. That’d be bad. After all, do I really want to stretch the skin so that it’s sore? Nope. Do I want tears “down there”? No way. A little will do ya. So, I ordered the stainless-steel bulb and, presto, it was enough so that I could feel it but not enough that I was uncomfortable.
One thing I’ve learned (and something I already knew) – there should never be any pain associated with restoration. No pain, no gain? Not here.
Ok, I’m all set. A month went by. Hey, I’ve got some loose skin. Cool! I told my wife. She was…mainly supportive, but asked a very intelligent question: “Will this hurt you?” and “Why are you doing this?” I had an answer for her first question, the second…well, let’s just say that’s my problem and not anyone reading this.
What’s all this then?
No, I’m not British. Only been to Liverpool. So, I’ve got all the elements in place. I’ve got the tools, I’ve got the time, I’ve got the motivation. But I still don’t understand a LOT of things. See? I’m coming back to something I mentioned above. These are things that I don’t understand and/or need explanation on. I’d made a post about not wanting the “shiny red glans…” which was locked and removed as a “Trigger Warning.” Oops. I did mean it at the time and still feel that way, though I’ve finally accepted the fact that if I’m to continue doing this, it will happen. When you’ve been accustomed to looking down and seeing the same thing for half a century, you tend to, well…get used to seeing things in a certain way. Knowing that I might see the skin peel off my penis and seeing the texture and color turn from a dull, matted color to a smooth, bright red is something that simply rubbed me the wrong way. Yeah, I’ll take the extra sensations, but why can’t things just stay the same?
But change is good. It hasn’t happened yet, but I feel that it will. At least that’s the plan.
As a result of the locked post, I reached out to a member who wrote a very articulate response (far more so than mine). Seeing as how the post was locked, I couldn’t respond. I messaged him and he told me that he would be willing to hear me out. Wasn’t that nice? As it turns out this user, Phenomenal Mysticism, knows his stuff. He did his best to explain to me some of the different part of the anatomy and what their meaning(s) were. I grasped most of what he said, but to put it in context:
I could go on. And on. But I think my point(s) have been made. I’ll end this by getting a bit serious.
This is that TL;DR section I’d promised above. You thought I’d forget, didn’t you?
Am I glad I discovered foreskin restoration? Absolutely. The new skin and new sensations that I’ve felt since embarking on this journey have been, well…breathtaking to say the least. That in and of itself is reason for me (and others) to continue.
Do I take this seriously? You bet. I tend to have a different perspective on things than most others. I assure you that if you’re doing this and it makes you look/feel better then keep on my friends.
Has my attitude on circumcision changed? Oh yeah. I had a conversation with my oldest stepson a few years ago. My (distant) nephew and his wife had a boy and my stepson’s comment to me was “Can you believe they circumcised their kid?” To which I responded “Yeah…so? It’s a pretty routine operation.” He rolled his eyes.
If that were to happen now my response would be “Well, that’s too bad. But it is their child. I wish they’d give him the chance to decide for himself what to do with the most vital part of his anatomy.”
Are there any real-world implications? Well…not really. I have had this fall off at the gym and at the casino. Why can’t this stuff happen in the privacy of my own home? When/if I’m fully restored, or at least to the point where I want to be, I plan to walk around my gym’s locker room proudly flaunting my stuff wanting someone to comment. They won’t, of course, but if and when they do…oh I’ll be ready.
Has sex/masturbation changed? Yep. For the better. I don’t think I’ve ever convulsed with pleasure for 20-30 seconds. When your wife says “Hey, are you OK?” to which I respond with a shuddered look saying “Yeeeaah.” That’s good. She knows.
Have you told anyone about your restoration? Just my wife, so far. The only others I’d tell would be my parents (who I do NOT blame for this) and possibly my brother. Anyone else I’d tell will most likely not care. Or won’t ever talk to me again. I mean, this isn’t the kind of thing you can show and/or tell anyone. Well…I guess I can, but I’d end up in jail.
Anything else? Yep. Your prostate. Don’t knock it, gents. Before I discovered restoration, I’d dabbled in the prostate with Aneros (subreddit Aneros). It’s all about strengthening your P/E muscle (penis) and the sphincter. Get those two working in cohesion and it’s a life/game changer. Seriously, check it out. That coupled with restoration will make ya a happy camper.
OK, maybe that was a bit longer than the traditional TL;DR stuff, but you get the idea.
One last thing.
There’s a lot of humor in what I wrote. That’s just me. I tend to use humor to disarm folks and as somewhat of a defense mechanism. But to be totally serious, I know and realize that this is a major thing for many people here. I realize that it’s given you hope, some levity in your life and has perhaps even brought you some inspiration. From what I’ve learned this this short amount of time, it has changed my view on what’s happening and what continues to happen.
My intent wasn’t to mock anything anyone is doing. After all, I’m doing it myself. I no longer view this as “a little flap of skin.” It’s far more than that and it took me a while to realize exactly how integral everything is and works together. The human body truly is an amazing machine.
Keep doing what you’re doing gents. It’ll get better, there IS a light at the end of the tunnel. Hang in there.

Thursday, May 9, 2013 - Jackson v. AEG Live Day 8
TRIGGER WARNING : Very emotional
Trial Day 8
Katherine Jackson was in court.
Karen Faye Testimony
Jackson direct
Karen Faye,MJ's long time Hair and Makeup artist takes the stand. Faye starts out by listing some of her famous clients, including Michael Jackson, Kevin Costner, Annette Bening & Smokey Robinson
https://preview.redd.it/g57v6ikxj1zc1.jpg?width=300&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e13b15c67aa60417129bdca9fc1da74ec794597d
Faye spends several minutes describing what she does. She talks about having to get close to someone when she's doing their hair & makeup.
She says her relationship with MJ grew over the 27 years she worked with him to a brother and sister relationship. Faye and Jackson became "very close" starting in the early 1980s, she said.
"It was almost like a brother and sister relationship. If I was having trouble, I could call him and he could call me. You talk, you share, you become very close, and imagine that over 27 years"
Faye spent about 90 minutes testifying about her close relationship with Jackson, who hosted her wedding at his Neverland Ranch & enlisted her to travel around the world with him. She breezily described Jackson's meetings with Princess Diana & other dignitaries, his Super Bowl performance, and other larger than life moments from his life. Jurors and spectators laughed at times as a parade of photos and videos shot during his performances were played.
"I was from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I was just very normal," she told jurors. "I found myself working with this magical person."
She said Michael was like a brother to her. Even after she gave birth to her daughter, he enlisted her for another tour.
"I said, 'I can't go all around the world with you. I'm a mother now,'" Faye recalled."Michael never took no for an answer. 'Yes you can, it'll be great for her,'" she recalled him saying
She's asked about the 1984 Pepsi commercial accident. She says she worked with Michael after that to mask his injuries.
Jackson's scalp was badly burned, she tells the jury.
"I had to figure out, along with him, how to hide his injury"
Panish asks Faye to describe Michael:
"He was a gentleman. He was elegant. He was brilliant", she says as she starts to break down.
After a couple more questions, Faye starts to cry. She gets emotional describing his creativity & relationship with his fans
The jury is shown a photo of Jackson doing Faye's makeup, brush touching her face. Panish asks her how Jackson did,
"I didn't like it at the time, but now that I look at it, I looked pretty good", Faye says of Jackson's makeup job. The room breaks out into laughter
Panish next shows Faye & the jury photos of just Jackson where she did his hair and makeup. One of images is an Annie Leibovitz shot for Vanity Fair.
"Who's Annie Leibovitz?", Panish asks.
"Really?". Faye responds.
There's laughter. Panish in a continuation of his self-deprecating questioning responds to her Leibovitz quip:
"Hey, I don't get out that much"
One picture shows MJ with tape on his fingers...Karen explains that it was a trick to get the audience to follow his hands. She says she knew he couldn't wear the glove forever
Lots of photos are shown, including a smoky image of Michael standing on tippy-toes. Debate ensues over what brand the shoes are. Panish asks if they're Air Jordans. "No", Faye responds. Judge names another brand. "Nope", Faye says. Faye says fans in the courtroom would know the brand of shoes. Before Panish can stop them, two or three voices call out,"LA Gear!"
Jurors viewed a series of photos of Faye & Jackson together through the years, including one taken in January 1996, the day after Lisa Marie Presley filed for divorce. Michael was upset because just before filing, Presley called him and begged him not to file for divorce, she said.
"She begged & begged, saying please don't file," Faye said. Jackson promised not to file, only to see "the next morning it was all over the press that she filed before him."
The photo of Jackson out with Faye "was to give the press something to talk about" with Faye being "the mysterious blonde."
"Lisa Marie Presley was calling Michael the day before (the photo) was shot, begging him not to divorce," she testified. "So he promised her he wouldn't file for divorce. But the next morning, it was all over the press she had gone ahead and filed. He was devastated"
Panish moves to videos of Jackson performances. He starts off with a performance of "Man in the Mirror" in Bucharest from the Dangerous tour. In the video, fans are screaming, some being carted out on stretchers.
Panish asks Faye if this is common for a Jackson concert.
Faye: "You obviously have not seen a Michael Jackson concert in your life"
Panish: "I'm not answering that. I get to ask the questions"
Part of his 1993 Super Bowl halftime show was viewed, including his rendition of "We Are the World" and "Earth Song."
"It was a very big deal, sir," Faye said. "I think it started the trend of having a big artist at the Super Bowl"
They viewed several minutes of Jackson's "Thriller," which Faye pointed out was a short film, not just a music video. A clip from a concert in Bucharest, Romania showed jurors how fanatical his fans were, dozens of them fainting as he sang "Man In the Mirror." When his 1995 MTV awards performance was shown, Faye noted:
"He can moonwalk in a circle."Jackson's stamina during a show was remarkable, she said. "Some dancers would pass out, but Michael would be fine. He was able to do it."
Faye tells the jury she was responsible for keeping Jackson hydrated during shows. She says she's never seen another performer like MJ.
"Michael would do five songs to the dancers' one. I never saw anything like it", Faye says of Jackson's performances.
A vintage video of Michael Jackson's hair catching on fire during the third take of a 1983 Pepsi commercial was played for jurors as a Karen Faye testified about the devastating migraine headaches he endured because of the injuries.
"I never saw anything like that in my life," Karen Faye testified. "This was someone I knew and he was on fire"
"His hair caught fire, but he kept dancing," she said, as jurors watched the infamous video of pyrotechnics igniting Jackson's head as he danced down stairs on a stage. "I was screaming and Miko (Brando) got through somehow and had to wrestle him to the ground, because he had no idea he was on fire. Miko put the fire out with his hand."
The fire burned off a section of hair, which doctors tried to repair with surgery to stretch his scalp, she said. Michael suffered migraine headaches after that
Instead of suing Pepsi, she said, Jackson asked Pepsi to build a burn center at Brotman Medical Center in Culver City where he was treated.
"Everybody thought he'd sue Pepsi because it was a mistake," she said
Later, a bridge suspended above a stage collapsed as Jackson danced on top of it during a show in Munich, Germany causing him to fall three or four stories, she said.
"When I saw what happened, I thought he could be dead," Faye testified. But Jackson held onto his microphone, stood up and finished the song. "He said 'I can't disappoint the audience,'" she said. So he finished the show finale but collapsed in the dressing room when it was over, she said. "He suffered back pain from that moment on," she said
The fall, she said, left Jackson with back pain that flared when he was under physical or emotional stress
Michael "was so buzzed by his own adrenaline after a show" it would "take him 24 hours to relax his body and, sometimes it would take two days to be able to sleep," said Faye. "As the tour went on, shows got closer and closer, and he would have trouble sleeping," she said. "It would start out OK, but it would get worse and worse. He tried to find ways to deal with it."Dealing with it involved a series of doctors, she said.
"Michael always believed that a doctor had his best interest at heart," Faye said. "He believed if he got something through a doctor that it was safe and OK for him to use it."
She says Jackson trusted the advice of doctors to help him sleep and deal with pain from injuries and performances
He was doing a short film for the Adams Family and suffering pain because of scalp surgery. Debbie Rowe would come with pain meds.
Faye says during the Dangerous tour, promoters asked that she give Michael injections of pain medications, but she refused. She says a tour manager who later became a top AEG executive then enlisted a doctor to treat him
That Pepsi burn touched off Jackson's reliance on painkillers, though Faye said she really didn't grasp it until his Dangerous tour in 1992-93. Faye said there were always two doctors around on that tour, willing and able to give him as many painkillers as necessary.
"I came to learn there was a balance of medication",Faye said."They [medication] had to be strong enough to overcome Michael's pain but not so strong that he couldn't perform"
"Debbie Rowe asked me to learn how to give injections," she said. "I thought about it and said 'No.' I am not qualified to handle any kind of medications"
Despite being asked by tour promoters, Faye said she refused to give him injections for pain. She said Paul Gongaware, a promoter who later became a top executive with AEG Live LLC, then brought in doctors who treated Jackson in 1993 on his "Dangerous" tour, which she told jurors had to be halted early due to the singer's prescription drug addiction.
When the tour was on its way to Bangkok, Thailand, Faye was asked to carry a package she was told contained medicine patches for Jackson's pain, she testified. She refused to travel with it, she said.Faye testified that the tour doctor -- Dr. Stuart Finkelstein -- later told her "I'm glad you weren't carrying it. It has vials and syringes. If you had brought this in, you might not be here." The implication was she could have been arrested for smuggling drugs. Gongaware, now the Co-CEO of AEG Live, was in charge of logistics for the Dangerous tour and was involved in the incident, Faye said.
In Singapore she saw MJ stumbling and fell into a tree in his dressing room. She was afraid for him and told the Doctor. She told the doctor he couldn't go on in that condition but the Doctor said he could go on. She was afraid for his life.
In Singapore she saw MJ stumbling and fall into a tree in his dressing room. She was afraid for his life
Faye testified that while backstage, she turned to someone she knew as Dr David Forecast & urged him not to let the wobbly Jackson take the stage.
His show opened with him being thrust onto the stage by a "toaster," which requires him to "curl up and be shot up" from a small enclosure under the stage, she said.
"His arm could be severed," Faye said. "I feared for his safety, I feared for his life. I put my arm around Michael and told Dr. Forecast 'You can't make him go out. You can't take him.' And he said 'Yes, I can.'"
The doctor "backed me up against the wall and put his hands around my neck and said 'You don't know what you're doing,'" she testified. "I nearly fainted, and he grabbed Michael and took him to the stage."
She said Dr. Forecast marched a disoriented Jackson to the stage, but the concert was cancelled nonetheless
Faye said she never witnessed the singer's treatments, but he appeared to become more dependent on prescription drugs in the years following the Dangerous tour. She said she worried every time she saw a doctor arrive to treat him."I was always worried that Michael was in pain," Faye said under questioning by Brian Panish. She said Michael had a low pain tolerance except while performing
MJ was on tour when the first allegations hit the papers in 1993. He was under a lot of stress. The world thought he was a pedophile. That tour ended when Elizabeth Taylor came to Mexico City to accompany him to a rehab facility outside of London ."Everyone knew Michael had a problem," Faye said.
"We all went home", said Faye who later flew to England to join Michael at the rehab facility, which she described as a beautiful country home.
Faye also recalled how Jackson's reliance on medications coincided with the first time he was accused of child molestation in the early 1990s."Michael had to go on stage every night knowing that the whole world thought he was a pedophile," Faye said, shaking her head and crying.
Faye also recalled an odd incident before his Madison Square Garden performance in 2001. When she went to his hotel room to make up his face before a show, Faye testified that a doctor stopped her and said:
"'I just gave Michael a shot, he's going to be asleep for the next five or six hours', I said 'that can't be, he's set to perform'"
She eventually got into his room, woke him up and fed him bagels to keep him awake & ready to perform
The media put Michael Jackson "on display" during his trial, Faye said, wiping tears. During that trial, he would wake, play classical music, watch 3 Stooges, anything that made him happy- before heading to court. Michael took care of his hair and dress but couldn't eat and lost weight, Karen said.
She was with him during the trial. She would do his hair and makeup for the "red carpet" at the courthouse. She would go to Neverland each morning before daybreak to help him wash and dress, she said. "I wanted people to think he still looked good and was still strong," she testified.
"I'd wash his hair in the shampoo bowl (and) blow it dry "They would get on their knees and pray, then hug each other and cry. While Michael tried to be brave, "he couldn't eat. He was afraid", she testified. "The pain got worse. He got thinner. " He wouldn't eat or drink during the trial for fear he had to go to the bathroom; one of the guards would have to escort him. He was too shy.
She said it was a particularly difficult time for him.
"He was losing weight," she said. "He couldn't eat because he didn't want to throw up because he had to watch all these people he loved & cared about tell all those lies."
He also refused to drink in the mornings because he hated using the courtroom bathroom, she said.
He eventually got so frail that one morning he fell and had to go to the hospital, she said. That event led to the infamous 'pajama' incident, in which he arrived at court in his nightclothes because a judge threatened to send him to jail if he didn't appear immediately.
"There was no time (to change him)," she said, crying and dabbing tears with a tissue. "He went into court without his hair done in his pajamas"
Although he was acquitted, the pressure of the case and media attention took its toll, she told jurors.
"He couldn't eat," she said. "He was afraid. He was in pain. He got thinner. His physical pain, his back pain, it all kicked in."
Karen Faye said MJ asked her to be on the This is It tour and she said "yes". Panish asks who Faye negotiated with. She says AEG executive Paul Gongaware negotiated her rate to work on tour. Gongaware signed Karen Faye's contract, which was finalized in May of 2009. She was with Jackson a lot during This Is It preparations.
Faye, said she was concerned when she first saw the schedule for Jackson's 50 This Is It shows at London's O2 arena.
"On looking at that, I said, 'He can't do this,'" Faye testified. "The shows are far too close together. I knew what he needed between shows. I thought he might last a week." When she raised the matter with show director Kenny Ortega, "he kind of fluffed it off," she said. "Michael's adrenaline and what it takes for him to perform with that much effort and what he himself puts into a show, he needed a lot more time to at least get some rest and sleep, and to be healthy and maintain that kind of longevity," she said.
Panish asked Faye whether Jackson ever expressed concerns about the This Is It production. She says "yes", but AEG objects. The attorneys went into a lengthy sidebar on whether Faye can tell the jury what Jackson's concerns were. AEG argued it's hearsay. Jackson attorneys had to tell Faye not to automatically say what other people told her, especially if AEG objected.
Faye testified that MJ wanted to do the tour for his children. They had never seen him perform. He also wanted to do it for his fans
Michael appeared "very, very excited" in early production meetings, but "the first time he actually got up on stage and rehearsed, I saw the change in him.""The turning point was when he had to get up on stage and actually start performing," she said
She said MJ's skin was very dry, his eyes were dry, he was losing weight & he kept repeating himself
She testified that MJ was showing signs of paranoia. That he had to see her when he was on stage always. He would repeat over and over
She had concerns and expressed those concerns to Kenny Ortega.
Jackson tried to avoid rehearsing for This Is It. Eventually, "they had to make him rehearse," she said. "They're insisting to the point of going to his home"
She said Director Kenny Ortega and AEG CEO Randy Phillips insisted MJ rehearse. AEG executives continued to push Jackson, Faye said. She testified she overheard a phone conversation in which Gongaware told Jackson's assistant to get him out of a locked bathroom and to a rehearsal. He had locked himself in a bathroom at his home, refusing to leave for rehearsals. Faye described Gongaware, AEG Live's co-CEO, as "angry and kind of desperate" "Do you have a key? Do whatever it takes," she said Gongaware screamed.
After a meeting between MJ, Ortega, and Phillips, Faye was told not to follow MJ's instructions anymore. She should show tough love. She said that after Jackson missed several rehearsals, Phillips told her to ignore his instructions.
She became more concerned for Michael's health in the last few days. She forwarded several emails to producers and included her own concerns. Faye testified that Phillips told her at Jackson's funeral that "he tried to do everything he could.
"Did she believe him, Panish asked
"Sir, Michael Jackson is lying in a casket only a few feet away from me," she said. "I had no words to respond. That's not everything you can do"
She said Jackson was frustrated and after a costume fitting days before his death repeatedly asked her, "Why can't I choose?"
Faye, choking back tears, read portions of an email from one of Jackson's fans that she forwarded to his now deceased manager, Frank Dileo. It described the singer as a skeleton.
"If we do nothing, he will die," the fan wrote. "I know people who work for him cannot tell him anything. I know his own family tried to help him but he won't listen."
Faye said she wrote Dileo that she agreed with the assessment, but the manager never responded in writing. By this point, Jackson was often cold to the touch and was becoming increasingly paranoid. Faye said he became obsessed with her being within sight when he was rehearsing onstage.
Michael appeared paranoid, repeating himself and shivering from chills in his final days, Karen Faye testified.
"This was not the man I knew," Karen Faye testified. "He was acting like a person I didn't recognize."
At a rehearsal in mid-June, Jackson was talking to himself, she said.
"When I was around, he was repeating himself an awful lot, saying the same thing over and over again."
Faye, who had to touch Jackson when she put on his makeup, said it was "like I was touching ice." At one rehearsal, she covered him with blankets and put a space heater next to him, she said
Faye said she raised her concerns once in June with AEG CEO Randy Phillips. He told her:
"Yeah, this is bad. It's not so good. I had to scrape Michael off the floor in London at the announcement because he was so drunk," she said
