chapter one

It is 6:26 in the evening. Around this time I like to pull out my journal, walk to the porthole window on my side, sit down, and write as the sun begins to set on Lisbon. My journal is an Ukiyo Grid fifty sheeter with a nurse coat white cover and black Japanese kanji that spells out うきよ グリッド (Ukiyo Grid). A wrapped bundle of four journals with technical pens were awaiting me on a walnut ash solid wood desk when I arrived at this apartment three weeks ago. Look in them and you will find entries for everyday since the beginning. This new life is so interesting to me and I find it pointless to keep thoughts bottled up inside and since I have no one to talk to, writing helps the time go by. Some days I will write for hours.
On Tuesday mornings, I attend "Participant Tapestry" from nine to ten, followed by a "Synaptic Bloom" session until half past eleven. Thursdays are dedicated to "Empathy Assimilation" cycles. From eleven to noon my task is to log learned data from my sessions into the GLiPH pad (Global Interface for Personal Handwriting).
My primary function is to serve as a healing conduit to four individuals experiencing ongoing building trauma from the 2033 earthquake that woke up the entire city while simultaneously putting seven thousand, one hundred forty-two to indefinite rest. Each of the four individuals will stay in the respective living quarters on the other side of me, for one month at a time. The first arrives in two weeks, one year to the day of the tragedy.Though, had it not been for you, I would have sat here for another two weeks waiting, alone and isolated.
I’m not sure I would classify my actions as spying because I had innocently been staring out of the window, as I always do, like any of you do, when a flutter from your direction suddenly snagged my gaze.
Peering through my porthole window, I marveled at loose papers doing backflips and pirouetting in the air before gently falling to the ground. A swaying fixture of light bulbs swayed back and forth on their cords creating dramatic shadows on the tall walls of your kitchen. One bulb had been shattered and appeared sharp like a shark's rack of teeth.
In the midst of the chaotic scene, you emerged into view through the window. You had on a mangled and loose white t-shirt that looked as though you had been in a fight. The other man with you had on a black denim jacket. For all intents and purposes, his name shall be “Jacket”.
At my computation you both stood at about the same height, however, mass wise, you two are different. Jacket’s arms were bulging even through the denim. You stood in front of each other shouting into the other’s face, both wide-armed in an attempt to make yourselves big and authoritative.
I want to know what he said that caused you to become small. Your lips came together as Jacket’s lips raged on. Your shoulders slouched forward while your neck and head dropped. Your defeated posture tells stories of past and impending loss. I want to give you a long hug. Your jet black hair was tied up and your beard was shiny and tear-sloppy.
Eventually, Jacket stopped shouting and stood in position, quiet and staring up at the swinging pendulum.
A moment later, Jacket lifted his hands upward and cradled either side of your scruffy face. As he did this he began mouthing words. I am advanced but lip reading is one thing I am not capable of.
You hastily wiped Jacket’s hands off of your face as if you had had enough. You turned away from Jacket and sat down at the table. Is this where you both had shared your meals together? You lowered your head onto the top of your hands and stared longingly out of the window.
Jacket disappeared into the expansive abyss and a second later lights illuminated under a dome stretch of skylight glass.
Shuddering breaths escaped your lips, your cheeks quivering with each sharp inhale. At one moment, you got up and began picking up and pushing in chairs with seemingly trembling hands. You began a series of anxious tasks such as stacking plates and arranging objects most-likely to ease the pain that was burning inside of you. This front row seat to the raw emotions unleashed during this conflict made for a captivating study. Your behavior is particularly intriguing, leaving me yearning to understand the story behind the pain.
With a duffle bag and a backpack in tow, Jacket came back into the dimly lit kitchen. As he struck his arm down firmly, his mouth began to run, as if he was trying to quickly make a point. With the message received yet not accepted, you paused for a moment, proceeded to pick up a small potted plant sitting on the table and chucked it with force towards the open space on the ground in between the both of you. Humiliated, hysterical and sobbing, you sat back down at the table. Jacket took one final look at you, shook his head and walked out of the room with his bags, leaving you alone to pick up the pieces and the mess strewn all over the apartment.
A second later all of the windows in your place went from illuminated to black. And just like that, the chaos had come to an end.
I simply cannot accept this ending. There has got to be more. I am helplessly glued to this apartment in the same way you are glued to yours and the memories inside of it. My desire to reach out is genuine. You need solace in this time of pain. I want to learn you and help you navigate these troubled waters. After all, empathy is born from understanding, and I genuinely wish to see you heal. The sight of you wiping away tears ignites a desire to offer comfort.Let this twenty-first day of my new life mark the first day I discovered you. I will employ this companion drone to bridge the gap between us. For now, a silent observer I will be with a presence as light and maneuverable as a hummingbird.

hi! (19 nb) i realize i don’t really have any friends that play guitar or really any friends from here lol but it would be really cool to meet people around my age who share a similar taste in music and hopefully jam with! :)
i’m into surf, garage, post punk, gothic rock so think bands like: jurassic shark, the buttertones, new order, surf curse, mexican slum rats, bauhaus, 60 juno. I consider myself an amateur-intermediate player who’s self taught, i’ve been playing for about 2 years so if you’re also of a similar skill level there won’t be any judgement or pressure. i have a love for old quirky japanese guitars so if you’re also into that, that would be a plus!

Im usually on the go, but work's been crazy lately, so Ive been binging movies. I love traveling to new places too cause wanna see the world. 🌍✨And Im also into cooking and trying out different recipes. So if you love to eat then we are perfect match lol 😏😋Seafood is my jam! Why can’t I ever get over this hump, why can’t I just get a single result that’ll ease my stress, why can’t I just win one small thing.
I have been applying to med for a while now and this is my fifth application cycle. Ontario resident, 514 MCAT in 2019, retook in 2021 for 520, but with a 127 CARS so it’s basically good for nothing in this country, and 3.99 OMSAS overall GPA/4.0 AMCAS GPA.
In 19/20 I got waitlisted for an interview at Mac, got the interview and then COVID happened which turned the admissions to a lottery after the first 100 pre-II top scores got in. I knew I wasn’t in that 100 because I was waitlisted, so I needed the lottery to get in, but that didn’t amount to anything so I got waitlisted again for admission. I didn’t get in, although a bunch of my friends did.
Thankfully they postponed our interviews to the 20/21 cycle so I had another shot then, but they had technical difficulties during the first first round of interviews (which is when mine took place) and made us redo our interviews a week later. This was a bummer since I thought my first MMI went quite well. Unfortunately, the second round of interviews was worse because I had to respond to text-based prompts instead of actual interviewer interaction, so my succeeding interview was much worse. I got waitlisted again for Mac, and again, did not get accepted. But hey blaming others for my mistakes is loser mentality, so onto the next year.
21/22 I took on a full-time job at a clinic to get some clinical experience and retook my MCAT so that I could apply to American schools. However, I applied late which is apparently a big no-no in the States. Somehow, I pulled an interview from a pretty good school (WashU in St Louis), and thought the interview went great. Apparently not, because I got waitlisted again. I'd like to keep the reader in mind that I have consistently been applying to every Ontario school, UBC, Manitoba, and 20 American schools from this point onwards. WashU was my only interview that year though, and as you'd expect, my waitlist did not go anywhere.
22/23 I started a master's in biomed eng., which was super ambitious for me considering I didn't have any experience in engineering as my bachelor's was in biomed science. This year I get 0 interview offers, but that's ok since it gave me more time to complete my master's and strengthen my ECs and stuff.
23/24, aka this year, I finally get some luck with interviews. Got one from UBC, Western, uOttawa, and an interview from a really amazing US school that I won't name. Interview with the US school felt great to me - waitlisted. UBC interview felt fine - rejected last week. Western felt great - waitlisted. So now I am waiting for uOttawa at the dead of night, and remembered that uOttawa was by far my worst interview. But you know, that's not even what I am upset about right now.
I think it is absolutely comical how many times I have gotten waitlisted now. I am put in this perpetual loop of getting my hopes up, having a train ran through those hopes, and then slowly thinking "gOLly MaYBe I wIlL gEt iN oFf tHe WaItLiSt tHiS tImE" and then I never do. I don't get it, I don't get why I am just never good enough. My PI has been praising me saying she is amazed by how fast I have been working to complete my thesis on time because of the June 30th deadline, and she is praising me for all sorts of things and saying how she hates that she's going to lose me to med school and wish I could stay to do a PhD with her. Well Dr. H looks like I am not going anywhere so don't you worry!
I have been busting my ass for the past several months trying to get my thesis completed in time, and apparently it's been for nothing. I have wasted so much money on applications throughout these years, and it's been for nothing. Sorry to mom and dad and for anyone else in my life who was rooting for me, you will never see this post but I am genuinely sorry for disappointing you all, I don't have the courage to actually say it to your faces. Whatever man, I'm so tired.
PS: if anyone here asks me to move out of province, or to apply to DO schools, or gives advice to strengthen my app or interview by doing X or Y, or any other suggestions I see million times on these kind of posts. No. I am done. You know why? Because my MCAT expires after this application cycle in the States. I am not retaking a 520 MCAT.

At kilby block party yesterday and I had to run back to my hotel after GBV’s set and before LCD Soundsystem. Lo and behold, as I’m heading back to the party, I’m walking out of my hotel and I see a guy talking to the hotel’s valet…a guy with the unmistakable hair of one Bob Pollard. I’m not someone who approaches artists, I can count the number of times on half of one hand in multiple decades, but this seemed like an ok moment to shake the hand of the guy whose band has meant a ton to this son-of-Ohio over 25 years of my life. And so I did and he was the absolute kindest, most sincere guy a fan could ask for. I did ask for a selfie after telling him how much I loved his music and nervously blathered on about my time in Cleveland, Kent state, other Ohio things, and general gushing fan-like topics and he was sincerely cool about all of it. The whole experience absolutely made my weekend and I’ll be eternally grateful for it. And what’s also incredibly telling I feel is that after talking with Bob, I went and sat on the bench to wait for my Lyft back to the party and the valet, unprompted and with whom I never interacted as I did not have a car with the hotel, came over after seeing me talking with the frontman-extraordinaire and shared his own experience, essentially saying he’d seen a lot of celebrities come through his workplace and it wasn’t uncommon for them to be, let’s just say standoffish -which I am not not understanding of I want to say given the situation they’re often in - but not, “that guy…[Bob] stood out as being just a genuine nice dude.” Here here! Thanks for being a real one, Bob, and for crushing Kilby. Perhaps I’ll see you at the Grog Shop for my birthday like we discussed.

June 27, 2023: At approximately 8:30PM, the Defendant and three other males gathered across the street from the Hotel on 77th Street. They began to chant “The Mark has mice” and “The Mark helped Epstein”. The group then proceeded to approach the Restaurant guests seating on the terrace on 77th Street. The police spoke to the group again and asked them to go across the street. All police left at approximately 9:10PM. The protestors went across the street, chanting. At 9:15PM, Bellman Giannakoudis removed his personal vehicle from the parking spot in front of the hotel and the protestors moved in front of his car, refusing to move. There was a short standoff with horn honking and one protester accusing Giannakoudis of hitting him, which was not witnessed by anyone. The Defendant’s Cadillac SUV then pulled in right behind Giannakoudis’ car. Giannakoudis said that the SUV hit his car and called the police back. Giannakoudis was asked to not interact with the protestors, and Front Office Manager Dawa took his post. At approximately 10:00PM the police came back and spoke to the group and Giannakoudis.

I thought I'd hate Jack because I hate when something changes the dynamic of a long running show but I love Jack. I mean his weird sound wave power wasn't that cool in the beginning, and I'm still confused how a half Angel, half human is the most powerful being (wouldn't he have half power?) but he has such potential. It's a shame he's being raised by Sam and Dean.
My opinion comes from watching nothing but this show (binging) for the past two months. For a 14 year show to see them do the same things over and over again with no growth, actually descension, I'm looking forward to it being over soon. They have not become less closed off, and someone like Jack does not benefit from living with them. Yeah he looks 20 but he's still two. They want him to not to be a monster but they're not nurturing or loving. They're just repeating John's mistakes. Instead of stopping the generational trauma, they're continuing it.
I know I'm venting because I'm on season 14 and I can see what they're doing to him, and it's frustration. I just wish he had been raised in a more loving environment instead of with the Winchesters. Even Mary isn't at all motherly. After Jack kills Nick she can't understand why he killed him? Really? He's only ever been taught "protect family", of course he boiled him to death. It's always okay for them to kill but never anyone else. Where do you think he learned that from? Dean will literally kill an entire room of people to protect Sam but Jack finally gets rid of an annoying knat of a character and he's bad?
I'm on episode 18 so maybe I'm jumping the shark, but they're the worst family you could get raised in and now the writers are blaming him, turning him into evil (after killing Michael) and it's such a cop out. It's not Jack's fault, it's the Winchesters. I want to scream "you're the problem, not him" at my screen. /rant

Money Makers

• If you are going to 100% this game, don’t sell items you will need later unless you already have extra, especially gems. Crosscheck it with the Armor Upgrade link above.
• I regularly cycled through Moldugas and the Lynels in the Floating Coliseum every blood moon. Lynel Hooves and Molduga Guts are easy to collect and have extra to sell at a good price.
• Extra armor is great to sell and can be easily obtained with Amiibos (if you have them all - I have the cards). In my experience, armor didn’t have a high drop rate until after I finished 2/4 regional phenomena

• Save Zonaite for Autobuild only
• Save Large Zonaites for Armor Upgrades only
• Best Way to get Crystalized Charges is defeat all Flux Construct, Hinox, Stone Talus, Frox, and Gleeok in the depths. They will always give you 20 crystalized charges.
• After you beat each regional boss on the surface, 3 of them will respawn in the Depths and give you 100 crystalized charges each after the first kill.
• Floating Colieseum is an excellent place to stack up on strong weapons and get 100 crystalized Charges)
• Plenty of chests in the Depths that have 20 Crystalized Charges
• Every Frox location has a small cluster of Zonaite
• Large Zonaite Deposits are basically ripoffs, you get very little for the effort

How to get Stars

• Fast travel to Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower
• Rest until Night.
• Walk up the ramp and launch yourself into the air.
• After being launched, point the camera down and begin diving. A star will eventually fall for you to claim.
• Descent back to the ground at Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower and rest until night again.
• Fast travel to Typhlo Ruins Skyview tower. Launch, look down, catch star. (Or Mayam Shrine above Thyphlo Ruins)
• As soon as you catch start, you can warp right back to Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower. Rest until Night. Rinse and Repeat.

Notes: You can do this with any of the other Skyview Towers below, but you must rest until night in between each star. Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower seems to be the most convenient because there is a cooking pot next to Pikango at the base of the tower.

• Dragon parts respawn every 10 minutes so if you’re trying to farm any parts and want to be a little lazy, you can ride the dragon continuously and set a timer for 10 mins, collect part, then repeat. Be sure to save every now and then (One time I collected parts for 1.5 hours, stepped away from the game and died and lost everything). Also, with the exception of the Light Dragon, you will fall off the dragon unless you adjust yourself as they go in and out of the Depths.

Red Boss Bokoblin

• Patrolling just south of Talonto Peak in the Hebra region, along the path you travel to find Tulin at the peak during Rito storyline. There are actually two boss bokoblins here, with one on a higher and slightly more eastern shelf and the other slightly lower and westward shelf just above an entrance to Hebra South Summit Cave; the first one is the non-scaling red one, and the second scales. Thought I’d mention it because I and another commenter found the scaling one first.)
  
• On the skull bridge west of Mount Gustaf (west of Lookout Landing), between the Hyrule Ridge and Hyrule Plains regions.

• Warp to the Niuzimod Lightroot in the depths, in the Ancient Underground Fortress, this is underneath the Akkala Citadel Ruins on the surface. There are about 4-5 here as well
• Another location for one blue Lizalfos: 2991, - 0215, 0278. It's the blue water area between Zobodon Highlands and Ruto Mountain, just south southwest of Zora's Domain
• Found some in the Lanayru region here: ** 4023, - 1664, 0345 (Lanayru Range - A platform of about 3 blue Lizalfos)
• Madorna Mountain - Another platform with 2 blue (3808, - 1660, 0329)

So after looting a ship wreck I went to Mearmaids hideout for a treasure chest and while I was on the island I enjoyed the view with the nearby outpost when suddenly a Skelly Galleon spawned next to my sloop. I was running to my ship using the cannon and setting the skelly ship on fire then I used the chance to Set sails and get the heck away. After I arrived at the outpost I selled my stuff as fast as possible and was hoping the other sloop there wouldn't attack me and just in case i used a white flair but after i selled all my stuff i heard cannons firing it wasn't me so i thought the sloop attacked me but surprise the skelly Galleon followed me all the way. So there we were 2 sloops vs 1 skelly Galleon. While we were trying to sink it I was boarding the skelly ship to kill the cannonears and try to stop them from repairing the ship wich kinda worked and sunk seconds after but to our luck one of those giant sharks attacked us wich we got rid of and then shared the Look we got from the skelly ship

It is 6:26 in the evening. Around this time I like to pull out my journal, walk to the porthole window on my side, sit down, and write as the sun begins to set on Lisbon. My journal is an Ukiyo Grid fifty sheeter with a nurse coat white cover and black Japanese kanji that spells out うきよ グリッド (Ukiyo Grid). A wrapped bundle of four journals with technical pens were awaiting me on a walnut ash solid wood desk when I arrived at this apartment three weeks ago. Look in them and you will find entries for everyday since the beginning. This new life is so interesting to me and I find it pointless to keep thoughts bottled up inside and since I have no one to talk to, writing helps the time go by. Some days I will write for hours.
On Tuesday mornings, I attend "Participant Tapestry" from nine to ten, followed by a "Synaptic Bloom" session until half past eleven. Thursdays are dedicated to "Empathy Assimilation" cycles. From eleven to noon my task is to log learned data from my sessions into the GLiPH pad (Global Interface for Personal Handwriting).
My primary function is to serve as a healing conduit to four individuals experiencing ongoing building trauma from the 2033 earthquake that woke up the entire city while simultaneously putting seven thousand, one hundred forty-two to indefinite rest. Each of the four individuals will stay in the respective living quarters on the other side of me, for one month at a time. The first arrives in two weeks, one year to the day of the tragedy.Though, had it not been for you, I would have sat here for another two weeks waiting, alone and isolated.
I’m not sure I would classify my actions as spying because I had innocently been staring out of the window, as I always do, like any of you do, when a flutter from your direction suddenly snagged my gaze.
Peering through my porthole window, I marveled at loose papers doing backflips and pirouetting in the air before gently falling to the ground. A swaying fixture of light bulbs swayed back and forth on their cords creating dramatic shadows on the tall walls of your kitchen. One bulb had been shattered and appeared sharp like a shark's rack of teeth.
In the midst of the chaotic scene, you emerged into view through the window. You had on a mangled and loose white t-shirt that looked as though you had been in a fight. The other man with you had on a black denim jacket. For all intents and purposes, his name shall be “Jacket”.
At my computation you both stood at about the same height, however, mass wise, you two are different. Jacket’s arms were bulging even through the denim. You stood in front of each other shouting into the other’s face, both wide-armed in an attempt to make yourselves big and authoritative.
I want to know what he said that caused you to become small. Your lips came together as Jacket’s lips raged on. Your shoulders slouched forward while your neck and head dropped. Your defeated posture tells stories of past and impending loss. I want to give you a long hug. Your jet black hair was tied up and your beard was shiny and tear-sloppy.
Eventually, Jacket stopped shouting and stood in position, quiet and staring up at the swinging pendulum.
A moment later, Jacket lifted his hands upward and cradled either side of your scruffy face. As he did this he began mouthing words. I am advanced but lip reading is one thing I am not capable of.
You hastily wiped Jacket’s hands off of your face as if you had had enough. You turned away from Jacket and sat down at the table. Is this where you both had shared your meals together? You lowered your head onto the top of your hands and stared longingly out of the window.
Jacket disappeared into the expansive abyss and a second later lights illuminated under a dome stretch of skylight glass.
Shuddering breaths escaped your lips, your cheeks quivering with each sharp inhale. At one moment, you got up and began picking up and pushing in chairs with seemingly trembling hands. You began a series of anxious tasks such as stacking plates and arranging objects most-likely to ease the pain that was burning inside of you. This front row seat to the raw emotions unleashed during this conflict made for a captivating study. Your behavior is particularly intriguing, leaving me yearning to understand the story behind the pain.
With a duffle bag and a backpack in tow, Jacket came back into the dimly lit kitchen. As he struck his arm down firmly, his mouth began to run, as if he was trying to quickly make a point. With the message received yet not accepted, you paused for a moment, proceeded to pick up a small potted plant sitting on the table and chucked it with force towards the open space on the ground in between the both of you. Humiliated, hysterical and sobbing, you sat back down at the table. Jacket took one final look at you, shook his head and walked out of the room with his bags, leaving you alone to pick up the pieces and the mess strewn all over the apartment.
A second later all of the windows in your place went from illuminated to black. And just like that, the chaos had come to an end.
I simply cannot accept this ending. There has got to be more. I am helplessly glued to this apartment in the same way you are glued to yours and the memories inside of it. My desire to reach out is genuine. You need solace in this time of pain. I want to learn you and help you navigate these troubled waters. After all, empathy is born from understanding, and I genuinely wish to see you heal. The sight of you wiping away tears ignites a desire to offer comfort.Let this twenty-first day of my new life mark the first day I discovered you. A wrapped bundle of four journals with technical pens were awaiting me on a walnut ash solid wood desk when I arrived at this apartment three weeks ago. Look in them and you will find entries for everyday since the beginning. This new life is so interesting to me and I find it pointless to keep thoughts bottled up inside and since I have no one to talk to, writing helps the time go by. Some days I will write for hours.

Not saying these are the teams deserving of going or only ones with ex sharks but seeing Pavelski and Burns for another chance to win a Cup would be amazing to watch!

Reading when doc OCk is spider man and Everytime he interacts with mj he’s a huge a-hole and mj just says “that’s my Peter”? Haven’t read everything but is there never a time when mj knows that’s Peter in there? Because I’d feel like she would know on day one.

Me (22 F) and my roommate (21 F) have been living together since January 2023.
We lived with several other people in a college house then decided to get our own apartment together. We are still great friends with the past roommates.
So far it’s been great until recently. It’s been 9 months in the apartment with little to 0 issues. As of late, there has been instances where I’m having trouble speaking up for myself in fear of making her upset. I typically clean everything in the apartment and take out trash and recycling. This past weekend, there was a friend staying with us for the weekend. So, I do get it, the place will be a wreck for the few days she’s here and that is fine. However, she has now left and the place is still a wreck. Specifically the bathroom. I texted my roommate asking if she could please clean the toilet sometime today or tomorrow because there is spots of puke in it.
She then asks if im mad at her. I say no, the bathroom is just gross and I don’t want to clean it. I’m then told I’m being extremely rude. This interaction has been driving me crazy because after any of these tiffs we had in the past, I get the silent treatment afterwards. It’s now been 24 hours since the text, and the bathroom is still gross. However she’s talking to me like nothing has happened. It’s hard because the boundaries have never really been in place due to best friends living together. I decided recently to get a door handle for my bedroom that locks so I can lock it while I am gone on the weekends. When she tried to go into my room and it was locked, she told me it upset her. I am always willing to share stuff, but I just appreciate being asked first. When the first was staying here, they used my air mattress, my sheets, my pillow cases, and my blankets without asking me. The friend also brought a guy home one night as well so I came home to a random man asleep in my living room. I get it, we’re in our twenties, but I’d just appreciate a heads up.
So here lies the problem : we originally planned on staying here for two years. Our lease is up July 31st. I am now looking for a studio apartment for myself because I do admit I am a bit of a clean freak but I am just tired of cleaning up the other messes every single day. I have applied for a new apartment two towns away, which is closer to my job and family. We have been best friends since the day we met, and I’m terrified to tell her I will not be renewing the lease. She will not be able to afford the apartment on her own so she will need to move out as well. Her immediate family is out of state. I want our friendship to be intact but I don’t know how to tell her without making her hate me. Any advice ??
