2024.05.14 07:36 Jambitiion Trauma Bonded to a Spiritual Narcissist

I’ve been dating a spiritual narcissist and feel hopeless
I feel like I have no voice. If I ever try to speak up, he will diminish what I say, dismiss what I say, and or gas light me. The worst of it all, he had a whole secret life - another partner of 9 years. She is living in Belize. He doesn’t take any accountability or responsibility for cheating or lying. He doesn’t see it this way. We have been together almost a year. I feel trapped. I’m out here on a ranch with him, and I’m on the other side of it crying. I just want to get back home. I want to get all of my things and go… he is just awful. I asked him for help with something so I could get a credit line, and he told me that absolutely I shouldn’t have any credit line. I said what about emergencies? I have no money… he told me well how will you pay it every month. I said it was only 500 credit line, I don’t think it will be that big of a deal, except for that I’m in the middle of no where with him so for now dependent on him… no car of my own. He even asked why I wanted one.. if it was so I can leave him? Ugh. Moments after his telling me how I shouldn’t even have a dollar basically, he starts dancing and bragging how he made 12k in the stock market with his trade and am I so happy for him…. 😒 He also is annoyed if I ask him to drive me and my things back to Houston. The ranch is an hour away. Nights like tonight, after all of the put downs and insults… Criticism about everything I do, how I picked up a dish, how I didn’t let the fish defrost long enough, how much better he would have done things… I feel like I can walk away. Ugh. This is the first narcissist I have ever met.
Also today, I had to listen for the one millionth time about how he has special knowledge that no one else does and he notices it when he’s around others. That he doesn’t feel like he can really find people who are as enlightened as him and …prob he needs to be a teacher and lots of people will follow him bc he has assendend so high. He will brag and go on and on while I clean up the kitchen from dinner, he won’t help. He will watch for me to mess up so he can pause his bragging and criticize how I breath or something. He is always repeating the same scripts… and he likes to talk about from the second he wakes up… how in 5th grade he was the smartest, the teachers All knew…how he this or that…. he said that I wouldn’t have been on his level at kindergarten age.. or he will say things like… what movie do you like? Then I say, and he says that’s a movie with little character development, I haven’t entertained those types since middle school.. or he will play one of his spiritual lectures and at the end say, that was too deep for you to understand. Wtf. It’s like all day, things like this.
And I’m heartbroken that he has this other girl. He told me she’s his stability and so he will stay with her and I’m allowed to be the mistress and publicly the assistant. She is coming back to the US.
I just hate him. I want to leave rn and somehow have him erased from my memory so I won’t cry over this. Ugh. I feel trapped.
Once I leave, I am worried about how much this is going to hurt. Just all of it…. Has anyone dealt with a narcissist? Was it hard to let go? 😒

2024.05.14 00:58 IamThe2ndBR Hanna in the HCP

The following is an original work of fan fiction. It will only make sense if you’ve read Corpies and SP4
“Fucking bullshit cock-garglers!” Hannah, formerly known as Hexcellent, uttered louder than she intended.
Luckily, she was sitting by herself in a third floor private room in the brand new wing of the Sizemore undergraduate library. On the main floor, any sound louder than a fart would’ve earned a collective, “shhhhh,” and annoyed stares from half the people studying. And frankly, as difficult as these Gen Chem practice exams were, the former PEERS would be spitting out a few more expletives before she was done.
Hannah glanced at her watch and sighed heavily. It was 4:43 PM. She still had two and a half hours before she’d need to head to the lift to meet Devon and Kacey, two other first year HCP students, for some evening training. Okay, you got this girl. You just fucked up some amped criminal supers, you can handle goddamn mass to mole composition formula and stoichiom-whatever-the-fuck, she thought to herself. With resigned determination, the HCP student began swiping through class presentation slides on her tablet, reviewing problems she had trouble with. For a solid 2 hours her eyes never left the material and she honestly started to feel more comfortable with what she needed to know. Hannah was in the zone. That was until she was interrupted by a knock on the door.
“What. The actual. Fuck?“ Hannah said slowly as she looked up towards the door and the adjacent window.
The summoner saw two boys standing outside, one of whom was a short muscular guy with dark brown hair that she recognized. She was fairly certain his name was Lucas, and that he was another HCP first year. He was in the alternative class though, while Hannah was in combat, so they hadn’t been around each other a whole hell of a lot. The other seemed familiar, but she couldn’t put her finger or on where she’d seen him before. They were each moving their mouths, and pointing a finger at themselves and into the room clearly asking if they could come in. Hannah got up and opened the door.
“Hey, Helen, right? You think that we can study in here with you? All the good tables downstairs are full. I just met Tristan here and he’s in the same predicament as me,” said Lucas before he lowered his voice to a whisper, leaned his head in, and pointed to the boy he referred to as Tristan. “He’s in the same ummm…special program as us. In his 2nd year.”
With that information, Hannah realized where she’d seen that guy. He was at the freshman party hosted by the second years. She remembered thinking that he came off as kind of a douchebag by the way he was standing around, nursing the same drink with a smug look on his face the whole time.
“Yeah, sure, whatever. As long as you guys dont act like complete assholes and make a bunch of noise. I gotta focus for about another 30 minutes then the room is yours. Cool?”
“Cool,” the boys said in unison.
“And it’s Hannah by the way. Not Helen. You’re Lucas, right?” She held out her hand towards him.
Lucas politely shook her hand. “Sorry about that Hannah. I’m terrible at remembering names,” he said with a slight shrug. “Just gonna grab a seat on this side so I can stay outta your way.” He held out his arm towards the opposite side of the table from where Hannah had been sitting and started walking over there.
Tristan walked in and closed the door behind himself. He gave Hannah a simple head nod and smirk but never formerly introduced himself. Very similar to his demeanor at the party; as though he couldn’t be bothered.
Yep, arrogant douche, she thought. Then she pictured the look of surprise on the 2nd year’s face if she were to manifest her big furry friend to accidentally-on-purpose kick him in the balls.
Hannah had often wondered if anyone in the HCP realized her summon was the same giant bunny that helped save Brewster almost a year ago. Titan had told her the DVA would hide any association between the tower-sized rabbit and her PEERS persona but she figured that once classmates saw her summon for the first time they’d make the connection. That didn’t seem to be the case though, at least as far as she knew. It helped that when she summoned Hopcules these days, he was about the same height and stature as Titan. None of her combat training took place outside yet, so no one in HCP got to see her manifestation at his full potential size. He’d also taken on more humanistic facial expressions lately and had been appearing in a variety of different clothes and accessories. Hell, the last time she trained with Kacey, the hulking rabbit materialized in a denim vest, a blue bandanna on his head, metal spiked leather bracelets around his wrists, brass knuckles, and with gold chains around his neck. Kacey couldn’t stop laughing during their sparring session until Hopcules had her bound and hog tied. Even with her enhanced strength, she couldn’t break free of what evidently weren’t just plain gold necklaces. It hadn’t dawned on Hannah until later that, the night before, she’d fallen asleep to an old 80s action flick about a renegade cop taking on a vicious street gang. She wondered if tonight her childhood protector would show up in a lab coat, holding a periodic table. The Sizemore freshman briefly shook her head to snap herself out of her thoughts and sat down to resume her work. She’d gotten fully back into her study mode until…
“Yo, does sound carry out of this room?” Tristan asked.
“Seriously?! You do remember that whole bit about NOT being obnoxious assholes, right?”Hannah asked incredulously.
“Damn girl chill. I just wanted to ask my guy here a question and didn’t want to risk being overheard. You should smile more girl. You know what I mean?“
Relax. Breathe. You don’t want to be seen as a troublemaker. It would not be a good idea to kick this fucker’s ass while inside of the school library. Or would it be? No. No. Definitely not a good idea, she thought to herself.
“Well unless you two were standing outside of here practicing at being mimes as a back up in case you don’t make it to graduation, I’m pretty sure this room is well insulated to sound.”
Tristan grunted in indignation and sarcastically replied, “you’re hilarious.”
“I’m definitely going all the way through. No way I won’t graduate,” Lucas chimed in, seemingly oblivious to the tension that’d just arisen between the other two people in the room. I’ve known I wanted to be a hero ever since I was little. My parents have spent a fortune sending me to an elite training camp for the last seven summers to make sure I’d be as prepared as possible for the HCP. Plus I’ve had personal coaches work with me for years on new ways to use my power.”
“Bro! That’s what I was wanting to ask you about. I saw the logo on on your bag. Holy shit, did you do the SETA training camps?” asked Tristan.
“Yeah, I take it you’ve heard of it.”
“Hell yeah I have. The Super Elite Training Academy. Who hasn’t? I hear those workouts are so intense. No wonder you’re so jacked. You must’ve been in great shape for your first day here. Mad props bro. Is it true you get to fight against human looking robot…”
“Hey! Tweedledum and tweedle-dickless, I honestly didn’t know there was such a thing as a two-man circle jerk, so I really appreciate the show but is there any chance I can get back to work without any more distractions?“
Lucas had mixture surprise and guilt run across his face. He opened his mouth as though he was about to say something, but glanced over to Tristan and stayed silent.
“What? You mad because you’re realizing you can’t stack up against the competition. Guess what. My guy here isn’t the only one who’s been preparing for this program long before he was admitted. I’ve been getting ready for years too. Trained in jiu-jitsu and boxing on top of honing my super abilities. Have you even done anything? Or did you just apply and cross your fingers?”
Hannah could see where this was going in. She decided in that moment to just let it play out. Fuck it, she thought. She was basically done studying. Even if she failed the final, which she was confident that she wouldn’t, she’d still pass the class. She stood up, pressed an icon on her tablet touchscreen and began putting other things away in her bag while she spoke. “Actually, I never had any special training as a kid. To tell you the truth, I shouldn’t even be here. I got into some trouble years ago. The kind of trouble that normally prevents one from getting admitted into an HCP. But, I was on a PEERS team for years and I got to do a lot of…
“Ha! You’re telling us you’re fucking a Corpie. Can you believe this, dude?“ Tristan nudged Lucas, looking for his agreement. To his credit, Lucas appeared visibly uncomfortable and leaned away from the other boy.
“Don’t know what it says about your class if they’re letting Corpies in,” continued Tristan with a sneer. “I guess you really do need to study. Obviously you’re the one that needs a back up plan. And here’s another thing little girl. It’s not just about how much you’ve trained beforehand, it’s also about who you know. And I know people. My mom‘s best friend is related to the Hero, Unseelie. So I’ve actually met a few Heroes who I’m sure will vouch for me when the time comes. Pity you can’t say the same. We all know Heroes don’t give two shits about Corpies.”
For a moment Hannah’s face expressed a flat affect. Then suddenly she burst into laughter. And not just some derisive laugh as though she was trying to convey to Tristan that she didn’t take his comments seriously. But an eye watering, oxygen depriving, honest to the Gods belly laugh. The kind of laugh that would’ve been contagious had she been around friends. She carried on for a minute until her amusement died down to a just a mild chortle. Hannah wiped her eyes. “You know people?“ She started laughing again, even louder than the first time. “Oh my Gods. Stop. Stop. I can’t breathe. Is this your fucking power?” Hannah was bent over at the waist still laughing hysterically, holding out one finger as to communicate, “give me a second.” After another minute, she wiped her eyes again, took a big gulp of air, and collected herself. “Woooh. Now that was some funny fucking shit.”
“Who in the hell do you think…“ Tristan started to say through gritted teeth.
“No no no. Please don’t get me started again. I don’t think my ribs can take it,“ said Hannah still chuckling some. “Let’s see what have I done and who do I know? You know I always knew that eventually I’d tell people about this, I just didn’t think it would go down like this.” The summoner raised her hand, then slowly curled it into a fist. Standing 3ft tall and leaning into the corner so as not to be visible to anyone who happened to be looking into the room at that moment, was Hopcules, adorned in the same armor he’d worn on the day he helped to save Brewster. “Look familiar to anyone?”
“That looks like the giant rabbit that fought robots with Titan. Hare-a-clees or something like that. My little sister has like 5 of its t-shirts,” Lucas responded.
“Wow kid, you really are shit with remembering names. Hop-cu-les is the name I gave him when I was just a child. Surprised the shit outta me that he came out the size of a skyscraper when those robots nearly killed me and my team, ” Hannah stated nonchalantly as she waved her hand and made Hopcules fade away.
With a grudging realization, Tristan began to ask, “wait, you’re not actually saying…”
“Oh look, captain mc-douche-nozzle is catching on. Somebody give the kid a prize. Yes, dumbass, I’m actually saying I fought with Titan, yes, thee fucking Titan, with every other Hero team in Brewster to stop those mechs from destroying the entire city. I’m saying the strongest hero alive is my personal mentor and it was his recommendation that got me into this program.”
Lucas looked back and forth between Hannah and Tristan having already realized that the sophomore might be one of those guys who’d lash out over his perceived inferiority. Lucas was so curious though he had to ask, “but… But, that rabbit is everywhere these days. Not just T-shirts. Toys, a cartoon, and I just read there’s going to be a next-gen console video game based on his character. If you own the rights to that image, you’d be loaded.“
“Eh,” Hannah said with shrug. “Youre leaving out the movie deal Lenny just got for me, but not something I talk about too much . It leaves me enough to be comfortable and to be able to donate a library wing to the university thats giving me a shot at being a hero.” Hannah responded. She gave Tristan a quick wink and glanced over her shoulder towards the door.
Tristan looked in the same direction and noticed something he hadn’t bothered paying attention to before, a small engraving on the center of the door of a bipedal rabbit. This would’ve been the most surprising thing that he’d seen since he set foot in the room if it wasn’t for the photo that appeared on Hannah’s tablet now facing him. It was an image of five people: Graham De Soto, the new head of the DVA, Titan in his iconic Hero costume, Dean Jackson, a large muscular young man with a shit eating grin who Tristan didn’t recognize, and another person in a generic gray mask, presumably female, and wearing a smile of malicious enjoyment, the same as the woman standing before him.
Hannah saw what caught his attention and picked up her tablet. “Oh, did you notice this? I love this picture. Titan called me in for back up as a Temporary Emergency Hero Asset. We beat the shit out of a literal army of enhanced criminal supers and took this picture after everything calmed down. All the other HCP deans were there too. Mr. Desoto actually told me if I ever needed a favor, he owed me one.” Hannah wore a wistful expression as she thought back on that day with fondness.
“Anyway, I gotta get outta here. S’posed to meet up with my training partners. Cause no matter what your background is or who you know, no one is a shoe-in for the final 10. Lucas, feel free to meet us in the combat cells tonight if you want to get a work out in and get tired of hanging out with this fuckwad. Later losers!” Hannah said this last part as she turned around and headed towards door while holding up her middle finger for all to see.
Tristan was obviously livid. His hands had been visibly shaking as he stood and listened to all the ways this 1st year had accomplished more than he’d even thought possible for student. Who does this little bitch think she is? She’s full of shit. She has to be. I’ll show her. From his elbows down, Tristan‘s arms began to darken. In seconds the two appendages looked like small tree trunks, with his fingers elongating into barbed tendril-liked branches rapidly moving towards Hannah.
Although Lucas had worked for years to improve his ability to cast his energy based illusionary environments-referred to by one quirky coach in the past as a “holodeck”- speed was an element that he continued to struggle with. He began to cast a simple illusion of darkness, so as to blind Tristan, but he knew almost immediately that it wouldn’t reach him in time. Then, out of the corner of his eye, he saw furry white movement. The miniature Hopcules had reappeared and was running towards the back of the chair Tristan had been sitting in. With a parkour maneuver that would make Jackie Chan jealous, Hopcules leapt from the floor to the chair, then from the chair to the rear wall. He torpedoed off of the wall with the force of both hind paws and made contact Tristan’s head, knocking the arrogant second year to the floor. He laid there dazed and confused about what had just struck him as his branches retracted and his arms returned to normal. The summon vanished before he even touched the ground.
Hannah smiled as she exited the room. Thanks be to the Gods. I was hoping that piece of shit would try something so I could have self-defense as an excuse. Kacey and Devon better be ready. I’m already warmed up.

2024.05.13 23:57 realism-aside Worried about 8 year old rabbit undergoing tooth procedure

Hey everyone! My 8 year old bunny has to have his molars worked on and I am a little hesitant about it. I took him into the vet last week because he was a bit drooly and his eyes were weepy and the vet let me know that his molars looked quite sharp and were probably causing some pain or difficulty swallowing. They booked me in for this Wednesday and I would do anything to make sure his quality of life is as amazing as possible and he doesn't experience any pain or discomfort but his positive demeanor almost has me second guessing if the procedure is needed now. Besides the bit of drool while eating, he is still eating/drinking well and going to the bathroom normally and gets excited when I approach him with treats. Since the day I took him to the vet it looks like the drool has also reduced significantly. I'm worried his age will play a factor in how he will handle the procedure or if it will stress him out too much or if he will tolerate the anesthesia properly. Does the reduced drool mean the teeth could have possibly worn down naturally? Any information would be really helpful, this is the first time in 8 years he has ever had any kind of health complication so I am trying to read around and educate myself as much as possible. Also, after the procedure can he just return to eating his normal food or should I purchase Critical Care? As I stated, if the procedure is absolutely necessary I will do anything he needs but I don't want to proceed with unnecessary stress at his age if it can be avoided. Sorry if this is a bit all over the place, I have been overwhelmed trying to figure out how to move forward with this! Any advice would be really appreciated, thank you!

The Shining Neon Colloseum, in a penthouse suite in the grand city is where the final bout will begin! Here come the Legendary Sixteen right now!!!! Lance the original winner is so stunning in his armor! Carlos has evolved and looks much tougher. Nickels is strutting in conifdent as ever next to Xio, who looks completely unphased by all of the winners around her! Selene fits right in with the bright lights. Looks like Candy is evolved as well and—OH—she tripped over Splaatz. That’s embarrassing and you can tell she isn’t happy even if she’s putting on a smile. Dirk and Echo are next, both eyeing up the competition already. Echo being evolved now already ups his threat level. Mobee gets an uproarious cheer from the crowd! And WOW the Professor gracefully glides over the crowd! He really did escape capture back in Mazda’s Season. Lisette seems to be meditating and Maeva is pumping herself up. She looks a bit snooty now that we know how she really is but we are eager to see how she plays. Dayley-Jane gets another huge cheer from the crowd. She really is a lovable gal ain’t she? DJ clicks a track on the DJ booth to keep one last song playing but then hops out to join the entourage. She’s still keeping up her day job too, so inspiring! Finally, Benedict walks up. Unlike the others, he looks somber. Wonder what his deal is? Oh well, let’s watch them all compete in the bright stadium for the first HOH!
First HOH: In this bright lights HOH, the houseguests all race to complete a task, with the first to complete it knocking someone out of the running. In the first heat, Maeva clears first and knocks out Bane because he came in second and is a huge comp threat. In the next round, Echo wins and takes out Maeva, who just won. Splaatz wins round three by accident and takes out Day, who was big on his original season. Candy wins next and takes out Nickels. Xio takes out DJ, followed by Benedict winning and immediately knocking Xio out. Candy wins again and takes out Dirk. Echo then wins again to take out Candy before she gets too much momentum. Carlos wins and takes out Lance, Mobee then wins and takes out Carlos, Benedict then wins and takes out Mobee! Splaatz wins again and takes out Selene as she is hiding in the background. Lisette wins the next round to take out Benedict. In the final three, Echo wins again and takes out Lisette, as she did a good job hiding til then. In Splaatz versus Echo, the fish surprisingly keeps up with the dragon and at the last second, takes over?!?!?! Splaatz is the first HOH!
Week 1: Splaatz is very confused how he won that last round but Echo comes up and congratulates him. The two get along well and Splaatz works up the courage to ask to be in an alliance, which the dragon happily agrees. Bane goes to Candy to tell her that the villains need to stick together, she agrees and they grab Maeva. She is initially reluctant, not trusting Bane, but she agrees eventually. Mobee goes to monitor the living room like before and DJ flies up to him. They end up chatting and realize they enjoy each other. At the nomination ceremony, Splaatz has decided to put up DJ and Dirk, saying how he doesn’t want to make too much waves and this seems to be the way to do it best. Dirk is unamused and DJ is frightened. Echo gets suspicious of Bane and shares his thoughts with Nickels, they pull in Carlos to form an anti-villain alliance. Benedict eavesdrops and plans his next move. He goes up to Nickels and makes up how Dirk must be playing the villain this time, because he is acting weird. Nickels considers his approach but ultimately decides to trust him as an alliance member. At the veto, Carlos, Echo, and Mobee all play but it comes down to Carlos and Splaatz. Splaatz ends up winning again but while actually trying and is exuberant! DJ pleads with him but he ultimately keeps his noms the same.
After the veto ceremony, Benedict tells DJ to do as he says and trust him, as Gigi did. She agrees and starts buttering up to the villains. She gets Candy to be even nicer to the house and apologize to Splaatz. She also helps Bane create a new game. Meanwhile, Benedict starts prodding Dirk and Day, causing them to be at odds with each other. Dirk eventually snaps and lashes out at Day, shocking everyone. Maeva can tell something fishy is happening but rolls with it since it is week one. At the eviction ceremony in the glittering colosseum, the two nominees tell why they should stay. Dirk is more bitter while DJ stays heartfelt, convincing everyone but a suspicious Maeva. In the end, by a vote of 12 to 1… Dirk, you have been evicted.
Week 2: The next HOH is a high flying roulette-themed obstacle course, based off of the Neon Colosseum’s roulette rules. DJ and Mobee work together to get to the end but Nickels keeps up with them. In the final stretch, Mobee sees Nickels catching up and throws DJ, giving her just enough of an edge to win the HOH! Nickels and Maeva both approach DJ to tell her their suspicions on Benedict’s behavior. At first, they fight, but realizing they have the same goal causes them to cut it out long enough to tell her. DJ is reluctant but Maeva reminds her how he betrayed Gigi and she is firm. Benedict and Carlos become the nominees. Day, Echo, and Maeva play in the veto and Echo actually manages to come out on top over Day. Echo talks with Nickels about saving Carlos but she is hesitant, telling him that Carlos makes a good pawn next to benedict because everyone likes Carlos. He ends up not using it. During the week, Benedict begins making breakfast early, irritating his roommate Carlos and causing him to be grumpier. Xio confronts Benedict for this, telling him he is purposefully making Carlos mad and it’s brutal. He tells her he doesn’t understand the problem if Carlos doesn’t like breakfast. She sneers but doesn’t have a comeback. The next day, Benedict holds a house meeting. He apologizes if he’s been rubbing people the wrong way but he is just trying to fit in since he is newer. Lisette says that everyone should give him a chance, which the villains, Selene, and Mobee agree with. Echo, Carlos, Nickels, and Maeva are all hesitant. At the eviction ceremony, Carlos is grumpy and bitter and doesn’t do much to defend himself. Benedict, again apologizes. In a 9 to 3 vote… Carlos is evicted.
Week 3: Several house membets are completely shocked by Carlos going home, including HOH DJ and his two allies, Nickels and Echo. Also surprised is Xio. The next HOH is an endurance comp called the floor is lava based off of the Lava Colosseum! Mobee, Splaatz, and Xio are the last three remaining. Knowing she was on the outs of the last vote, Xio fights hard to survive, fighting her pain. Splaatz eventually drops and Mobee remains with Xio. Eventually, Mobee drops and Xio wins! Xio already knows her noms. She puts up Benedict next to Selene, as she was one of the people vouching for him last round. Benedict chooses to stay back and not make too much of a scene this round, lest he blow up his cover. Meanwhile, DJ and Mobee plan how to move forward. Maeva is listening in to this convo and realizes how close they are. At the veto, a mental comp, Selene ends up winning by a landslide, saving herself. Maeva rushes to Xio about the DJ and Mobee situation, and points out how Mobee is a comp threat as well. Xio decides Mobee is a good replacement, as he is likeable and a good pawn next to Benedict. Mobee holds a house meeting and cries during it, thinking he was doing so much better at being friendly this time. Maeva calls him out for his crocodile tears and argues that he is putting on an act. Lisette calls out Maeva for being so harsh and chastises her for being such a villain. Maeva asks her if she is planning on voting for him to stay and she is silent, but says that shouldn’t matter. Maeva retorts and says it’s not jury so jury management doesn’t exist yet. At the eviction, Mobee is shaking next to a smug Benedict. Benedict’s speech touches on how Mobee doesn’t seem ready for the big leagues. The bear gets up angrily and almost picks up Benedict, shocking everyone. He stops himself and realizes what he did. The vote comes in and by a vote of 8 to 3, Mobee, you have been evicted.
Week 4: The next HOH begins as they houseguests must ascend a glimmering rock wall, themed after the Crystal colosseum. Day and Maeva take an early lead but are caught up by falling rocks. Lisette closes the gap and eventually surpasses Maeva. Day and Lisette race for the end and… Lisette win! Lisette in her HOH room ponders about who to put up and ally with. She turns to Xio, Day, and Selene as her allies. The Witch’s Coven, as they call themselves, wants to shift the focus, as Benedict is doing too well at not going home. Instead, Lisette targets Maeva, who is playing sneaky, as well as Benedict’s ally, Echo. Bane laughs at Maeva being on the block and she is enraged with him. He says “it doesn’t matter since it’s not jury yet.” Having her own words turned on her, Maeva storms out and swears she will get revenge on him and Candy. At the POV, the witches’ coven is playing with three members and Xio ends up winning! She chooses to keep the nominations the same. Splaatz goes to Lance to tell him how much it means to be there with one of his heros, but Lance mishears him and calls him out for calling him a rude name. The two get in a petty argument where Lance’s bad hearing keeps making things worse. Meanwhile, Maeva tries to get the vote off of her by spreading anti-Benedict propaganda around the house. Day has a change of heart about this and wants to vote out Echo, even while her alliance is targeting Maeva. Benedict, aware his name is still out there, pleads to DJ not to vote out his ally. At the eviction, Maeva thinks she has done enough work but the vote comes out and is a 5 to 5. The Coven is shocked, one of their own must have flipped. But Lisette gets to break the tie, and is all too happy to evict her target, Maeva.
Week 5: The next HOH is themed after the Sunset colosseum, and sees the houseguests racing to stack piles of rubble. Echo, DJ, and Xio make the highest stack but DJ’s crumbles before the time limit. Both wanting to take control, Echo and Xio try really hard to build the highest. The timer buzzes aaaand Echo is the winner! Benedict instinctively high fives Echo and celebrates with him. Later, Nickels is peeved that Echo is so publicly working with Benedict. Echo tells her she had the opportunity to have a good ally but she chose to burn that bridge and that’s her fault. Offended, she tells him to make that alliance with Benedict work out but she won’t be part of it. Echo is saddened, but doesn’t want to put Nickels up. Instead, he shifts the target to former villains, with Bane being the target and Selene going up next to him. Xio cheers that Selene could be going home, making the Lamp angry at her, since they were supposed to be working together. Benedict goes on to win the veto and vows to Echo not to use it. However, at the veto ceremony, he uses it to save Selene, shocking everyone as he winks at Xio. Echo then solidifies this by putting Xio up. Selene goes to her to tell her she is sorry for their misunderstanding but they work together. Candy turns to Lisette and tells her she is tired of working with Bane and if she helps her get the Professor out this week, she will work with her. Lisette agrees, knowing everyone wants Bane out anyways. At the eviction, Xio seemingly patches things up with everyone. The vote comes in, by a unanimous vote… Bane, you are evicted.
Double Eviction: Surprise! The Jury starts tonight and the next HOH is beginning right now with one more person leaving! A quiz colosseum is held in the Sunset colloseum, with one miss causing someone to be out of the running. It comes down to DJ, Nickels, and Lisette. But Lisette gets the last question right and the other two miss, with Lisette winning her second HOH. Lisette puts up Nickels and Day. Nickels because she is playing a lowkey game but making waves in the Benedict situation. Day because she wavered on her vote for Benedict. She doesn’t put down Benedict as he is good for drama and polarizing the house, which is good for her game. Nickels wins the veto and takes herself off. Lisette decides to put up Splaatz, because she is worried he will fumble his way to the end. Most people seem to share this idea except for Echo, who wants to wotk with Splaatz. The vote comes in. By a vote of 7 to 1… Splaatz, you have been evicted and will be moving into the jury house.
Week 6: The Next HOH begins as a race through the mysterious mansion in the courtyard colosseum. No one can tell where anyone is but Candy comes out first and wins! As HOH, Candy calls in Benedict. She tells him he has been playing a sloppy and obvious villain game and he is gonna get evicted too soon if he doesn’t simmer down and get some real allies. He is shocked and admits he just wants to win. She says they all do and the least they can do is help each other. She says she will help him if he keeps causing more chaos and also gets DJ on their side. He agrees and talks to DJ. The squirrel is hesitant but decides it would be a great way of getting revenge on Benedict if she gets the chance. Candy puts up Lance as the pawn next to her target, Xio, who has been against Benedict’s chaos this whole game. DJ goes on to win the veto and chooses to not give Candy any suspicion by not using it. Meanwhile, the witches coven fractures, with Day not agreeing with Lisette and Xio feeling not supported on the block by Selene. DJ infiltrates this meeting after storms out, telling them about Xio being the real target but she has a plan to keep her without drawing suspicion if they can get Day to play nice. Xio borrows an item from Lisette and breaks it. Lisette then goes to “rant” to Day, who is being nice with her, thinking they both will vote Xio. Echo, meanwhile, confirms his alliance with Benedict, and feels like he is finally gaining more traction. But the house takes this the wrong way. At the eviction, the vote comes in, and by a vote of 4 to 3… Lance, you have been evicted.
Week 7: The next HOH begins, a waterfall diving competition, based off of the Waterfall Colosseum. Whoever makes the biggest splash wins! With her natural watery prowess, Day dives in and wins the HOH! Day is approached in the HOH by Candy and Benedict, who ask her to work with them. DJ sees whats happening and goes back to Lisette and Selene. The two talk and realize that they can’t beat Benedict’s control of the house by just going against him, but they have to work with him. So the three of DJ, Lisette, and Selene enter the HOH “accidentally” and propose the six will control the house. They say they want Echo to go on the block, as he is getting too good at the comps. Benedict is hesitant but Candy nudges him, as secretly this will be great for her game. He agrees and tells Day he won’t be mad if this happens. Echo goes up next to Nickels. The two former allies face off in the veto, both bitterly making jabs at the other for turning on them. It comes down to just the two nominees and… Echo edges her out, winning the veto. Echo saves himself and puts the power in Day’s hands to put up a replacement. Her choice is the person not in her alliance who has made affronts to her, Xio. Lisette has the whole house do tarot readings to ease the tension which goes down well. Lisette gets the Sun, a symbol of positivity and creativity. Benedict draws the Moon, symbolizing Illusion and inner conflict. He shudders when the white moon of the card turns red in his hands. Echo draws the Fool, a card of new beginnings but also endings. Selene draws death, the card of change in the game. Nickels draws the Hermit, a card of isolation and reflection. Candy draws the Lovers, with the card representing connections and pairs, symbolizing her manipulation of Benedict. Day draws Strength, a card of inner strength and Willpower. Xio draws the Tower, representing sudden downfall and incredible sudden changes. She shudders and uses the moment to apologize to everyone, saying she wants to be a beacon of hope but got lost. The house receives this well. Benedict considers flipping to Xio because of her show of faith being bad but Candy reminds him that Xio is on the bottom of the pecking order on that side, likely meaning they don’t even have to take her out. He relents and the eviction goes through. The vote comes in and by a vote of 5 to 1, Nickels you have been evicted.
Week 8: The Next HOH begins in the Sunny Park colosseum, with contestants having to hunt for pellets and use them to knock out targets. DJ and Echo prove the most adept but in a last second victory, Echo wins. Benedict goes to Echo in the HOH but Echo has realized too late that Benedict is working with everybody, even causing him to turn on Nickels. Benedict doesn’t try to hide his smug smirk as he agrees and walks out, daring him to put him on the block. He feels this must be hiding something and starts asking around the house for their opinions. Xio reveals the existence of the Witches Coven, and how they have been together for weeks, including saving her last week. Knowing of this alliance, Echo saves Xio and puts up Selene and Day. At the veto, Selene wins. Selene approaches Echo, telling him she knows of someone playing both sides, revealing DJ trying to play double agent. After she pulls herself off the block, DJ goes up as the replacement. Candy works on ingratiating herself with the outsiders in Xio and Echo, trying to forge paths ahead. But is unsuccessful at breaking Echo. Echo is accosted by DJ for putting her up over Benedict. He asks her to say why she was double crossing and she says its because she was trying to sabotage Benedict. If anything, Day, Selene, and Lisette should be the real double agents. Echo goes to rage to Selene for how she tricked him but she swears it was the truth completely, and he chose to believe it in a negative light, not her. Day joins the fight and lashes out at Xio and Selene for being the reason she is on the block. Lisette stays out of it, knowing the time to jump ship is coming up. At the eviction, Dj and DayJay give their pleas, but the votes are tallied. By a unanimous vote… Dayley-Jane, you have been evicted.
Double Eviction!!: Second double eviction because you know we gotta! The HOH starts with a lightning round of dodgeball on wooden poles. Selene is knocked out first. Then DJ gets knocked out by Candy. Lisette falls off on her own. Xio goes after Benedict but is taken out by Candy. Then Candy expertly dodges and takes out Benedict, winning the HOH. She nominates the two people who are on the bottom of the pecking order, Echo and Xio. The veto plays out with Benedict winning. Echo pleads for Benedict to help him out, as they were friends. Benedict doesn’t even look him in the eye as he chooses to not play the veto. Echo pleads to the voters to let him keep playing and he will take out Benedict, but Lisette and Selene have basically already jumped ship and moved on. The vote comes in, and by a vote of 4 to 0… Echo, you have been evicted.
Week 9: With Six houseguests remaining, they are taken to the Gateway colosseum to have mock Pokemon battles. In the first round, Xio beats Lisette and Selene beats DJ, with Benedict drawing a spot in the top 3. In a first to win two times in a row scenario, Selene beats both and comes out victorious. Selene and Lisette decide that they have to cut ties and work with the more devious players to have a better shot at the end. Selene puts up DJ and Xio, with DJ being the target. Benedict is alone in his room when he hallucinates more blood on his paws. He shouts and Xio comes in to see whats up. She helps him calm down and he realizes he is down a bad path. She helps him calm down and he thanks her, even with him harassing her all game she still helped him. Candy witnesses the two help each other out and is beyond irritated, she goes to Selene, who is still iffy on Xio, to warn her. At the veto, Candy wins it. She takes off DJ and Selene spitefully puts up Benedict, who trembles going to the block. Lisette confronts Selene for making such a rushed decision, as the goal was to keep Benedict and his threat around longer. At the eviction, Benedict argues that he has realizes how the game has changed him and he wants to prove how he changed. Lisette doesn’t believe him but DJ seems to be enamored. The vote comes in, and by a vote of 2 to 1… Xio you have been evicted.
Week 10: Five stars remain and there are five points in the Stars of the Main Street colosseum, where the houseguests go to do a full BPBB quiz! Lisette misses one question and gets behind as the other get ahead. It comes down to a tie-breaker between Dj and Benedict and the winner is… DJ! Benedict goes to apologize to DJ for real and she forgives him, happy to see his true self back again. She feels played by Selene and Candy so they go on the block. Lisette is still suspicious of Benedict and starts watching him for suspicious activity, noticing him look at his paws a lot. She decides to talk to him with the ruse of working together. At the veto, DJ wins again and claims her game, choosing not to use the veto. Realizing the danger they are in, Selene and Candy go to their respective closest allies, Benedict and Lisette. The two touch base with Benedict telling Lisette he is fine voting Candy with her, as he doesn’t want to force DJ to have to break a tie. At the eviction, the votes are read and by a vote of 2 to 0… Selene, you have been evicted. Benedict looks over at Lisette with a shocked look, realizing she caught on to him.
Week 10: As the final HOH starts, the houseguest are in the Stargazer colosseum for an epic triathlon of quizzes, endurance, and races. In the first part, Benedict pulls ahead, with Lisette on his tail. He falls behind in part two, giving Lisette and Candy a chance to catch him. The three are neck and neck in part three but Lisette comes out on top! Benedict goes to Lisette on her HOH to grovel but she stops him, saying she misheard the vote last week and though the vote was for Selene anyways so its good he didn’t make poor DJ break the tie. He feels reassured and goes back out. Lisette puts up DJ and Candy as the nominees. Lisette reassures DJ about how Benedict likes her and she wouldn’t go home. Benedict touches base with Lisette, claiming that he knows DJ has too much social traction and needs to go next because of this. On his way out, Candy enters the room and chats with Lisette. She says that the noms should stay the same so DJ can be evicted for sure this week. Lisette doesn’t trust her and tells her to her face she is no better than Benedict, but is powerless without him. The two stare each other down. At the veto, Lisette wins it, and Benedict sighs a sigh of relief. But Lisette shocks everyone by saving Candy and puts up Benedict. Lisette calls him out for faking his turnaround to play with everyone’s emotions. He breaks down, claiming his intense want, no, NEED to win the game. He can’t get it out of his head and it burdens him with the thoughts of betrayal, including the allies he betrayed this season, with Nickels, Echo, and even Xio who showed him so much kindness leaving because of him. DJ is in tears and even Candy can’t watch. Afterwards, Benedict goes to his only real ally, Candy. He begs her for advice on how to get out of this, as she helped him so much. She looks him in the eye as she tells him that he did this to himself. At the eviction, Candy gets the sole vote to evict and casts it to evict, Benedict.
The Reunion: Folks we are live again right outside the Neon Colosseum for the Finale of Bunny’s Pokémon Big Brother Champion Royale! Our Sixteen winners have been whittled down to three and it is not what we expected at all! In a house where everyone wants to be the biggest truck on the highway, we have three mid-sized sedans who have slipped through the gaps and swept their way to the end. DJ VOLT SWITCH, Elesa’s iconic Emolga who created the jams we are listening to even right now! She plays up her social game very well with honesty and loyalty, but is no slouch in the competitions. Though she has been left out of some secrets in the game, she was well=liked in the house and leveraged her position between alliances to get information! Sweet Candy the Wigglytuff who played Sickly Sweet last but downright Sick this time. She got in close with all of the villains but managed to be the cherry flavored licorice that was easier to manage. She avoided detection aligning with big villain Benedict and hiding behind the scenes of his chaos, even almost controlling his moves at points. The Sunstone herself, LISETTE the Solrock, who foresaw victory once, but is this a double reading? Lisette bided her time throughout the game, getting whatever information she could and waiting to play it until the time was right. She was at the center of multiple alliances but always stayed just far enough away from the drama that no one was even targeting her. The Sun? No Lisette is after The World!
Joining us on stage now are the 9 jurors! Starting with Splaatz—Ope watch your step, you gotta be careful or else you’ll trip. Here comes Lance the OG! Though he is old he is still our knight in shining armor. Nickels struts up so casually ooh lala. Here comes Echo, kind of sheepishly, don’t be shy buddy! Day gracefully swims up on stage, still to audience cheering. Wait, the cheering is getting louder? Oh it’s Xio! She is surprisingly well-received. Selene keeps the applause growing. She seems to be goading the audience on with her behavior, not wanting to stay out of the spotlight hmm. And then—oh wow I can’t hear anything with the thunder of the crowd for… Benedict? Interesting outcome here that our little villain has become a real crowd pleaser. Even as he walks to his seat with his head held low.
The jurors speak with our lovely reporter. Lance speaks about how great it was to come back and how this game is way changed from when he won season 1. Xio and Nickels agree, but they still worked hard to adapt to the changes. Selene scoffs a bit, another early winner, she notes that herself and Candy were very well integrated, they just needed to change their approach. Xio says it was much harder playing from the bottom rather than the top and it was a fight, but she had a ton of fun doing so. Day mentions she felt the same way. A house full of winners is not to be underestimated for a second, as they all could be planning many different things behind each other’s backs. Splaatz is—oh he’s asleep… moving on. Nickels asks Echo about how he changed his game this time, and why he turned on her. He apologizes, saying he was blinded by seeing opportunities with Benedict because he didn’t fight with him, only told him what he wanted to hear. And he realized too late that that was a ruse. She accepts his apologies and all eyes turn to Benedict. He looks up, seemingly just noticing eyes are on him. He looks down at his paws. “All I’ve seen since last season is blood on my paws. The need to win never left me. I had to do it at all cost. I lost myself in that game and resorted to every trick in the book to make the winners trust me. And it worked… but I fell deeper and deeper down the hole. And now, I don’t feel like I deserved to win at all.” Xio jumps up and makes him look up. “You deserved your win as much as we all deserved ours. It’s a game, it doesn’t have to define you. You define you, so get up and prove it.” Benedict is in disbelief that Xio is still defending him. “You hear that crowd? They were entertained, we entertained them! Your devioushness entertained them! You gave them a show by tricking a bunch of winners, so own up to it and be the entertainer we know you are.” He gives off a small, barely noticeable, but definitely real this time, smile. Xio turns to the crowd “ARE YOU GUYS READY FOR OUR FINAL THREE???” The crowd erupts in excitement!! “THEN GET READY BECAUSE HERE THEY ARE!!”
Final HOH Part 1: The HOH opens on top of the rotating Roulette wheel in the Neon Colosseum, with the audience now filled and the three houseguests circling in the middle, holding on for dear life. At the same time, they are throwing dodgeballs at each other. Candy is targeting Lisette out of spite, putting on a performance for the audience about how Lisette is a traitor to their alliance. DJ is caught in the crossfire but expertly dodges. She manages to catch a ball that Candy threw and chucks it back, knocking her out. Lisette smiles at DJ but DJ knows she still has to win. She tells Lisette she is sorry but she is done working with people and has to take her game into her own hands, not relying on others to fail but herself to succeed. Lisette agrees, but she wants to be the one to succeed. Lisette lobs a ball at Dj and knocks her out, winning Part 1.
Final HOH Part 2: Part begins with Candy and DJ on the Rotating Roulette platform again, racing around to land the colored balls in order of the competitions and the winners of each one. DJ takes an early lead, having been very aware of the game the whole beginning. Candy struggles at first but when she catches up to leaving the villains alliance and joining Benedict, she takes off, knowing how well she played Benedict as her own puppet that she controlled votes for that she easily crushes the midgame part. Her lead takes her ahead on time going into the endgame. DJ misses a key vote and has to go back, but Candy remembers who saved Benedict countless times, and gets it right, winning part 2.
Final HOH Part 3: The crowd is in uproars as Candy and Lisette reach the stage for final quiz, again on our roulette platform (we paid a lot of money for that). Each juror question goes by, with Lisette and Candy answering in tandem, Both get question after question correct, eventually reaching the last question about Benedict. The crowd is shocked as they both answer together again and… get it wrong. Well, that’s anticlimactic. Benedict sighs, no one knew his true self. But the tie-breaker is revealed, how many rotations has the rotating platform made? With both answering two numbers away from each other, Candy goes just over, eliminating her, and crowning Lisette the final HOH. Lisette has both DJ and Candy in front of her. She doesn’t say much but looks at them. She says that DJ played an impeccable social game and is incredibly loved by the fans and the house. Candy, meanwhile, played a strategic game and almost fooled her a couple times. She turns to Candy “I made a gamble with bringing a social threat to the end before with Amni, but not this time. Candy, let’s give em a show.” And casts her vote to evict DJ.
The Jury Questioning: DJ isn’t shocked, she did a lot this time around and knew she made herself a bigger threat. She exits the house and gets cheers from the audience! She hops to the DJ booth and begins playing the final epic track for the showdown between Candy and Lisette. Both have been in this position before in the final 2 and both have won, but now, only one can become a two-time winner and be crowned the ultimate Champion! Lisette opens with her speech first. She pitches her game strong, how she gravitated towards groups in the early game without committing too strongly, so she didn’t go down with the ship. She still managed to control so many votes in the house by having reach with her Witches Coven and eventually jumping ship and siding with Benedict, as she knew he was under Candy’s thumb and she could infiltrate that alliance to get to the end and destroy it. The jury is impressed by her showing and all eyes turn to Candy. Candy starts saying how she knew her game was already known going into the house and she had to play different. Her main strategy was to fall into the background and connect with the players playing sloppier than her so she could be the puppetmaster and sneak to the end. And for her, that was found in Benedict, who she found it very easy to manipulate. She is the villain they all knew she was but she wasn’t targeted because of her great strategy. She saved Benedict’s game and carried him to the end so that she could have a guaranteed extra life in the endgame with him. Murmurs arise from the jury, Benedict looks incredibly hurt. Xio asks Candy what her biggest move was outside of controlling Benedict. Candy says that she made sure that the villains she worked with got cut before she could get too powerful, even working with Lisette to get out Bane and Maeva. DJ gets up from the booth and asks Lisette why she went to the end with Candy instead of her if she thought Candy was going to be tougher. Lisette clarifies that she thought Candy would be good at explaining her game, but she knows not to rely on other’s failing but on herself to succeed, and DJ has a great story and was well-loved and if she wanted to win, she had to cut DJ and masterfully explain her game to the jury. Benedict finally speaks up to ask Candy if he meant anything to her at all throughout the game. She hesitates, caught off guard, before replying in all honesty that, she wanted to mentor him to be a better player. He says he did well enough for making it to the end twice and didn’t need her to do all that. In their final speeches, Candy says that she used other people as her pawns and navigated a really good game to make it to the end hidden amongst the other players. Lisette says that she played a perfect game, not even touching the block and noting that she has not received a vote against her in either of her games, this one being perfect. She finishes by saying how she played more up front and aggressive to counter the sneakier players of the season and did not back down from the threats that all the winners possessed. The jury is impressed and goes to cast their votes.
Jury Voting: Splaatz says he had a fun time playing again and wants to vote for someone who played really good, even showing him more how to play. Lance says that while some people are old school, some people are REALLY old school, but can still play with the best of the best and be even better. Nickels says she is honored to be in the winners season but one winner played like how she thinks a winner should. Day says she worked with both finalists, but she always felt the house pulling towards one player, as the sun has a lot of gravity and control over the tides. Echo says point blank that he felt the manipulation from both sides, but one felt malicious, and another felt like game, and he knows which he respects more. Xio says that some lines shouldn’t be crossed. Selene says that she was honored to be so thoroughly outplayed, turning from the Queen to the Pawn who was merely a stepping stone in someone elses game, it was thrilling. Benedict silently casts his vote. DJ cues the final tune before hopping down with her vote, saying that it should be obvious. The votes come in… by a vote of 9 to 0… the winner is…
Winner: Lisette!
Runner-Up: Candy!
Confetti cannons and flamethrowers start lighting up the sky with neon streams shining bright all over the sky! Though it is the dead of night, it is as bright as the sun, and Lisette is feeling absolutely radiant. Candy sits in shock, in disbelief. Lisette throws her the Lovers card again. “You misread it the first time so maybe you can learn before you try to tell the fortune teller what her fortune is.” Candy throws the card on the ground in anger and pouts. The jurors go and cheer for Lisette, the ultimate champion and two time winner, STILL having never received a single vote to evict in two entire seasons. The fan favorite vote comes in and… IT’S A TIE???
Fan Favorites: Benedict and Xio!!!
Benedict goes up to Candy, still fuming, and looks her in the eyes. “You know what, you really did teach me something. You taught me that some people never change, but I don’t have to be one of them.” Xio comes up and takes Benedict back to the celebration, sticking her tongue out at Candy as she leaves. The party goes through the night. The sun eventually rises, as Lisette has risen to the top of the competition, as this era of Bunny’s Pokemon Big Brother has come to an end.
My Thoughts: I enjoyed this season a lot. It kept me on the edge as the winners played their games again, some way better than others. Gameplay-wise, I think I preferred last season but I think it’s more so because of the subtle moves made in the dark as no one wanted to be too big of a target. The villains ended up flopping early, which kind of was to be expected, given that everyone else is a relaly smart player to have won. Candy surprised me this time, sneaking in to take over Benedict, being a key player in his storyline, even a bigger villain than he tried to be. It really helped me tie up the storyline really well and I like how it happened. She also played a stellar game again, controlling things from the chaos in the shadows. The other side of the house was not slouching though. Lisette, Selene, Xio, and Day all played smart games, not committing too much to each other but still working well enough to not crumble. Lisette as a winner for this season is great! She put in work to keep her position, as it was in danger of falling apart so much. She leveraged every ally she had and every competition she had to get forward every week. And it worked as she got to the end without hitting the block AGAIN and played a PERFECT game, not receiving a single vote to evict and getting every vote to win. She did that in a winner season too, ultimate winner for sure!
So whats next? Well... that's the end. I knew since the beginning that Season 17 would be the end but it coming up still feels so weird. I am about to start a busy summer and don't have as much time for all of my hobbies but I still feel sad finishing this series. I think I am going to make a series epilogue soon so stay tuned for that but... otherwise that's it. I thank you all again so much for sticking with me the whole time, it's been a wonderful journey!

2024.05.13 22:01 unattractive_smile how to fix horrible internet service (plz help)

im not really sure if this is the right place to ask for help, but i don't really know where to go or who to ask, so might as well do it here.
(TLDR; verizon internet wont work on any of my devices (lenovo laptop, ipad 10, and iphone SE.) when im at home or school, the two places i spend all my time at.)
so im having horrible internet service problems and im not sure what to do to fix it. it only affects my devices and no one else in my home. (it should be noted no one else in my house uses social media or their devices beyond necessity, outside of my brother who plays videogames on one of those alien wear gaming laptops. with the rainbow keyboard) in order from best functioning to least, my laptop (Lenovo-windows OS) my tablet (ipad 10) and phone (iphone SE) are all greatly affected. the general problem is everything taking far to long to load or not loading at all, leaving me to a blank screen for up to ten minuets at least (have not tested longer cause i don't have time for that.)
this has been a problem ever sense ive had my devices. i moved to a new area in late 2019 and got all my devices following it. i moved into an averaged sized, two floor raised ranch. ever sense then ive been having internet problems nonstop, but its only been me whos having these problems. the router is kept in/was installed in the basement room on the bottom floor on the right side of the house. while ive been having problems everywhere in the home, its especially bad in my bedroom, which is on the top floor on the left side of the house. initially i had spectrum, but the internet companies switched zones and now the only service available in my area is Verizon, who has always been my phone service provider sense ive had it, which also does not work for my phone from my school. considering that i spend all my time either at home in my room or at school, and am chronically online, you can see why internet that doesn't work is a problem for me. and the problem is, that its just inside my house/school. when im outside, i have no problems. its exclusively when trying to use my devices from inside these two specific buildings that it becomes unusable.
it would seem like the issue has something to do with location, but like i said, none of my devices work no matter where i am in the house. i could be sitting next to the router and its still not working. when viewing it from my phone, in wifi settings, if connected, it generally shows that error message of "no internet" and tells me to reboot the router. well if doing that worked i wouldn't have this problem. there was a period of time when i has spectrum that purchased a new gear wifi extender, which seemingly solved the problem. however, when i switched to Verizon, i was not home when it was done, and the extender remains "connected" to the spectrum internet somehow. i cant unconnect it. and when i have tried in the past to connect it to the verizon wifi, the extender can not find the router at all. i also cant buy my own service because like i said, there is no other service offered in my area.
if anyone has any ideas, please comment below. im at the end of my rope:

2024.05.13 14:27 Angel466 [Bob the hobo] A Celestial Wars Spin-Off Part 1011

PART ONE THOUSAND AND ELEVEN
[Previous Chapter] [The Beginning] [Patreon+2]
Sunday
“Daaaaddy!”
Levi groaned, for the shouting whine from his bedside dragged him kicking and screaming out of sleep in a way no other alarm could. Only two other sounds garnered a faster reaction from him: someone vomiting right beside him or his baby girl screaming in either pain or fear.
He opened one eye, wondering if someone had ever made an alarm that sounded like either of those last two. Parents everywhere would never sleep in again, so maybe not.
A blurry red-headed vision was so close that he could smell her morning breath as it tickled his nose. “Heeey,” he yawned, pulling away enough to bring her back into focus. “What’s up, Peaches?”
He didn’t recognise the room they were in. Not even a little bit. He sat up fast and looked around, causing Maddy to let out an ‘eep’ of fright. “Daddy! You made some come out!”
And then the events of the night before came crashing in: the party, the knowledge that his roommate was going to have the kind of company Maddy didn’t need to see, the invitation to stay in Luke’s old room, and Maddy’s late-night escapades after he’d dropped like a rock after doing a double shift to make it to the party.
He saw Maddy’s uncomfortable wiggle-dance and the strained look on her face and remembered he’d locked the door. “Oh!” He flew out of bed, scooping her up in the process. If he ended up getting peed on, it was his own fault for not setting an alarm for his baby girl’s tiny bladder.
He unlocked the door and dove around the corner, willing to go through the shut bathroom door if he had to, but thankfully found the room open and vacant. Then he flipped the toilet lid before depositing her on the ground in front of the toilet. He immediately pivoted away, not because he was embarrassed by her but because Maddy had grown old enough not to like him watching her go to the toilet. She was starting to get antsy about her bath, too, but until she could adequately bathe herself and not merely play with her bath toys the whole time, that was a hard ‘don’t care’ line.
“Do you want to have a bath, baby, or wait until we get home?” he asked, crossing the room to hold the door almost shut to prevent anyone else from seeing her either.
“I don’t got clothes, Daddy,” she answered like he was an idiot.
Word choice aside, the sentiment was true. They’d borrowed the shirt she was wearing from Charlie. “Well, we need to figure something out, Peaches, because you are not leaving this house in only a nightgown and no underwear.” He’d send Charlotte out to buy her some clothes if he had to.
He heard the toilet flush and Maddy move up behind him, and turned long before she could touch him. “Three guesses what I didn’t hear, young lady?” he asked with a paternal frown. He pointed at the vanity when she looked up at him without a clue.
“But I can’t reach!”
“Then what are you supposed to do?”
Her shoulders slumped. “Daddy, c’n you help?”
He then smiled. “Better.” He put a hand on top of her head and spun her towards the vanity before guiding her forward. After they crossed the room, he loosened the faucet without turning it on and curled his hands around her waist, lifting her high enough that she could lean over the sink. She washed her hands, rinsing them thoroughly, then scooped the water and let it fall over the faucet before turning it off. Not that water alone would wash away the ‘germs’ of the initial contact, but the sentiment was there. Her mother had been a nurse, after all.
“Is Mister Larry still here?”
“I don’t know, baby. But how about we go and see if we can track down either Aunty Charlotte or Robbie and figure out where we’re at, okay?”
“We’re in Uncle Luke’s and Aunty Charlotte’s home,” she said, again like he was an idiot.
That had been a rather stupid thing to say to a three-and-a-half-year-old. “Alright, Miss Smarty-pants. And what are we going to eat for breakfast in Uncle Luke and Aunty Charlotte’s home if we can’t find them to ask them, hmm?”
“Food, silly.”
Clearly, he was going to have to up his game in parental rhetorical questions. Gone were the days when she’d take him at his word, and she was only three. Thirteen was going to be fun. “Right,” he muttered, shaking his head as he opened the door and stepped out into the hallway.
While holding Maddy’s hand, he peeked in the open door across the hall from the bathroom and saw a very plain bedroom in terms of the rest of the apartment’s décor. At first, he’d thought it was a guest room until he remembered the teenage kid Robbie had recently adopted. This was probably his room.
He’d seen Charlotte and Robbie’s room the day they moved Charlotte in here, so a quick glance to confirm the room was empty was all he needed on that score. That left two doors on the right. And since both were close together, with the one on the left barely a couple of feet from the other and the front wall separating the living room, Levi was willing to assume the second one was a half-bath or a powder room or something. He went to the second door and knocked.
“Yeah?” Mason called from inside.
Levi opened the door and poked his head inside. “Hey, you wouldn’t by any chance happen to know where Robbie or Charlotte are, would you?”
Mason was at his desk, drowning in paperwork, it seemed. “Robbie, no,” he said, shaking his head. "As for Charlie, I’d try her office next door, between us and Boyd’s studio. She has a massive garage refit happening soon, so last I checked, she was in there getting things ready.”
The emphasis on his sister’s preferred name wasn’t lost on him. A sharp, jarring motion to his right caught his eye, and he saw something that really belonged in a space program somewhere.
“What the hell is that?” he demanded, ducking down low enough to see Robbie’s adoptee with his eyes glued on whatever was going on overhead and his fingers typing in a blur of speed.
“Naughty word, Daddy!”
Mason snickered at Levi’s slow blink. “It’s a gaming system courtesy of Robbie’s family. The damn thing is very addictive, though, and I haven’t told Brock that there’s a screen you pull down from inside the headset to cover your eyes that takes the game into 3D playing.”
Levi whistled. “I don’t even want to know how much that costs.”
“I know, and this Sectra table here is up there too,” Mason agreed, gesturing at the electronic display beside him. “But it certainly makes learning a lot more fun.” He tilted his head forward. “Isn’t that right, bunny?”
Bunny?
Maddy leaned into Levi’s leg, but she was grinning ear to ear when she nodded. “I wanna be a vert when I grow up,” she declared, looking up at him.
“Vet, baby,” Mason corrected. “We’re vets. Sounds like “bet’ and ‘get’ and ‘set’.”
“Vet,” Maddy repeated.
“There ya’ go. Step one is getting the name right.” He glanced up at Levi, his cheeky grin on full display. “Step two is getting Daddy to save up for the rest of his life to pay for the classes.”
“I hate you,” Levi whisper-smirked, and Mason pursed his lips in a cocky air-kiss.
Still shaking his head, Levi waved at Mason and left the room, leading Maddy through the kitchen and living room and into the hallway outside. For so many years, his baby brother and their friends had crushed themselves into that ninth-floor horror show, and no amount of pleading from everyone would budge Luke. Not pressure from their parents nor peer guilt from his brothers, who refused to bring their families over to the cramped space.
Charlo—Charlie was the only one who visited regularly, and at the time, he’d put it down to her being skinny, single with no kids, so she could squeeze into whatever gap she found. He knew who she was really visiting now, and Robbie had better be ready for the mother of all guilt trips coming from the family to make an honest woman of their sister. Nascerdios descended or not, he’d be a dead man if he broke her heart.
Thinking about his little brother’s relationship with all these men, it was like Luke knew the payoff was just around the corner. People like them didn’t live like this.
Well, Maverick kind of did, but he’d worked hard for what he had and could rattle off his list of sporting injuries to prove it. Robbie and Sam had simply taken a running dive off the world’s highest diving platform and landed in the kind of wealth the rich and shameless could only dream about.
Luke—Lucas was lucky in a different way. Yes, his friendship with Robbie and Sam had certainly opened the right doors financially, but what Levi had seen of Boyd’s work yesterday, the big guy was well on his way to becoming his own type of rich; much like Mav did for his family. And like Marley, Lu—ucas wouldn’t have to work a day again in his life if he didn’t want to. (Though he had just made detective and loved his job, so Levi couldn’t see him quitting anytime soon.)
He knocked on the closed door. “Come in,” Charlie called, proving Mason right. And like Mason, she was sitting behind a desk covered in paperwork with a phone cradled against her shoulder.
“Aunty Charlotte, we’re hungry!” Maddy declared, and Levi closed his eyes to hide from his sister’s evil chuckle.
“Well, we can’t have that, sweetie,” she said, and he heard the phone click as it was dropped onto the receiver. "Daddy gets very grumpy when he’s hungry.”
“It’s not the only reason he gets cranky,” he said, opening one eye a slit to give his baby sister the stink eye.
Charlie cackled and slid out from behind her desk. “C’mon. Robbie has your breakfast all ready for you in Voila.”
“We didn’t want to start going through things and guessing what we could eat,” Levi explained as they backtracked to the main apartment.
“That’s fine. Grab a seat—any seat,” she said, gesturing to the line of kitchen barstool chairs as she moved through the living room. She headed around the island and over to the box under the window without checking if they had.
Levi wasn’t thrilled about the height of the barstool chairs off the floor. “Do you have a belt or something I could use to tie Maddy in?”
Charlie swung around to him. “Oh! Oh, yeah! Hold on.” She slipped around the island and down her side of the apartment, coming back from her room with the kind of square booster seats that could be found in a restaurant. “Robbie ducked out and got this for her this morning.”
Levi scratched his head as the booster was attached to the second chair along the front of the island. “Where’d he get that from at this hour?”
Charlie looked at him derisively. “This is Robbie, bro. You know he’s got connections all over the place.”
It killed Levi not to ask for more details, but given it was probably either connected to the Nascerdios or, more likely, a wealthy former client in the city that still looked favourably upon Robbie, he hadn’t wanted Maddy to overhear the specifics of the latter. Too many times, his little girl had asked Robbie about different ‘gifts’ he’d been given by clients and how she had wanted to do whatever he did to get presents like that. ‘Over my dead body’ had been his mental declaration.
Maddy was pulling on his boxers. “Up, Daddy,” she said, holding her hands over her head for him.
Levi lifted her into the seat, and then buckled her in. In the meantime, Charlie went back to that wooden box, lifting the lid. “Robbie has this gift with food, so assume everything in the place is for you to eat, because it probably is.”
“Not everything,” Levi countered at Maddy’s wild squeal of delight. He gave her hand a firm squeeze. “Do not take anything without asking, young lady, or you’ll be in big trouble.”
“But Daddy…”
“It’s Daddy’s call, Maddy,” Charlie said, backing his play. She turned, holding a plate with two fist-sized Minnie Mouse-shaped waffles (the bow between the ears made it Minnie) with some type of white marshmallow fluff spread across them and a honey drizzle that drew perfect facial features on each. “Here’s breakfast for one cute-as-a-button Dobson,” she said with a flourish, sliding the plate in front of Maddy and pulling out a children’s stubby fork from the cutlery drawer.
“It’ll have to be cut u—” The words died in Levi’s throat as Maddy stabbed the nearest piece, and it broke into a small, bite-sized piece that Maddy happily popped into her mouth.
“Imma bi’ ’irl,” she said, in and around her food.
Levi tapped her nose. “Big girls don’t talk with their mouths full, Peaches.”
When he glanced at Charlie, she’d gone back to the box and returned with a dinner plate of fluffy scrambled eggs on two pieces of toast with cheese and bacon, and three sausages cut almost in half longways on the side. She nodded at the seat beside Maddy, then slid the plate into the empty spot at the end. “Siddown, bro.”
He might have whimpered a little on the first bite as Charlie went and poured them both a glass (technically, Maddy got a plastic tumbler) of citrus juice (not orange), leaving the jug on the bench between them. “Help yourselves to as much juice as you want. Even if you wipe this whole jug out, there's plenty more.”
“This is really awesome, Charlie. Thanks.”
Charlie placed her hand on her brother’s shoulder as she moved around the island into the hallway. “Anytime, Levi. But now I’ve gotta love you and leave you. There’s a mountain of work to get through in my office, so are you good here?”
“Totally. Thanks again, sis.”
As she walked out the door, Maddy held out a piece of her waffle to him. “Try?”
Waffles were usually too sweet for his blood, but this was the game he’d set up with her a long time ago to make her at least attempt to eat new foods. He couldn’t very well expect her to eat what he wanted her to if, now and again, he didn’t reciprocate the motion.
The honey and marshmallow whip (which tasted nothing like the jar-bought type) melted into the perfectly heated/not-too-hot waffle, giving it a sweet crunch as if it had just come out of the waffle iron. His surprise must have been written all over his face, for Maddy giggled, and he grinned. “That’s yummy.”
“Mmmm-hmmm,” she hummed, just as he always had when a new food passed the initial taste test.

Friday, May 13, 2005 - People v. Jackson Day 52
Trial Day 52
Michael goes to court with Katherine, Joe & Randy
Criminal defense attorney Mark Geragos testified that it was he who ordered surveillance of the Arvizo family back in early 2003 because he was "gravely concerned" that they may have been plotting to extort Michael
Geragos relayed to jurors that he was merely "trying to prevent a crime" against his client, believing that "they were going to shake [Jackson] down."
The famed attorney represented Jackson during February and March 2003, when the accusing family contends they had been held against their will, falsely imprisoned & extorted by Jackson. The accuser's mother, sister, and stepfather had additionally testified to being surveilled following the family's final departure from Neverland. No explanation as to why this was had ever been provided.
Geragos explained that he had asked private investigator Bradley Miller to keep track of the Arvizo family to discern
"where they were, what they were doing and who they were meeting with"
He had also requested that Miller record a statement from the family so as to "lock" their version of events at the time, protecting Jackson should they later change their story.
Under questioning by defense lead attorney Thomas Mesereau, Geragos said that he became concerned that the Arvizo family would seek to take advantage of the allegations spawned by the Martin Bashir documentary Living with Michael Jackson. At the time, old allegations of sexual abuse had resurfaced and the media was abuzz with talk of possibilities that Jackson had molested Gavin Arvizo, who was featured in the program.
"People were making all kinds of allegations ... and I was to look into that," Geragos said.
The lawyer stated that his "first concern" had been whether the Department of Child and Family Services may attempt to remove Michael's children from his custody.
Not long after being hired, Geragos went to Jackson's Neverland Valley Ranch for a pre-planned interview with CBS journalist Ed Bradley. Geragos testified that while there, he was informed by a Jackson associate about things regarding the family "that were giving me great pause," in particular the fact that Gavin was calling Michael "daddy."
During a conversation with Jackson about the matter, Geragos said he objected to how the teenager was referring to him, and this eventually led to the cancellation of the interview.
Geragos said his concerns grew further when he ordered an investigation of the family and discovered that they had a litigious history. The family had filed suit against J.C. Penney in 1999 alleging that during an altercation, which ensued after an alleged shoplifting incident, they had been battered and sexually assaulted.
This discovery prompted Geragos to conclude that Michael "should have nothing to do with [the family]," believing that a continued association with them would be a "pending train wreck." He added that the past lawsuit and eventual settlement raised concerns because Jackson is "frequently the target of litigation" and thought it best to sever ties between his client & the family.
Contradicting the contention that Jackson and several others conspired against the family, Geragos denied any conspiracy and further distanced Jackson from the charge to which the prosecution has been unable to link Michael. He said that he was unaware of any crime committed against the family.
Asked during cross-examination if he had ever questioned Jackson about Gavin sleeping in his bed, Geragos replied that he had and that Jackson told him that "nothing happened" and that "he didn't do anything untoward or sexual & if anyone spent the night in his room it was unconditional love."
Geragos also defended his former client when describing his first visit to Michael's home.
"When I was there, what I saw was a gentleman who was almost childlike in his love for kids. I didn't see anyone doing anything nefarious or criminal. I saw someone who was ripe as a target," he said.
At one point, Geragos declined to answer a prosecution question on grounds that Jackson only waived attorney-client privilege concerning events up to before his arrest in November 2003, surprising both Judge Melville and prosecutors.
Judge Melville had been under the impression that it was a total waiver of attorney-client privilege and sent the jury out of the room in order to address
"the misrepresentation Mr. Mesereau has made to the court and counsel."
Mesereau apologized, stating that he did not think the events after Jackson's arrest were relevant.
Judge Melville also criticized Mesereau for his delay in questioning Geragos, who came to court as per the judge's orders and under threat of arrest should he not show at 8:30 a.m. Geragos arrived well in advance, but then waited for hours while attorneys questioned another witness.
"I have this picture of a lawyer upstairs walking back and forth pulling his hair out of his head wondering why I called him here today under threat of a warrant while Mr. Mesereau goes on and on," the judge said. "What's wrong with that picture?"
Mesereau replied, "It's pretty accurate, I think, your honor."
Geragos did not complete his testimony before court recessed for the weekend and is scheduled to return at a later date

2024.05.13 09:23 RachelTalks2Much [NY] Physical custody parent moving out of state

TLDR: I tried to keep this short, it was impossible. A very brief summary: My son is almost 15. I have had physical custody (legally) since he was a baby. My ex-husband sees our son every other weekend from friday around 4-6, until sunday morning. My son does not enjoy going to his dad's house for several reasons (which I think are valid, although I would never tell my son i think they are valid - I really try to build his father up to him). We live in NY, and the price of living has gotten to a point I simply cannot afford it. Child support does not even cover my sons grocery bill. I am getting a sizeable, but not massive, inheritance from my Nan who passed. It is not enough to do anything here, but in NC, where my brother and his wife live, I can put a down payment on a small home or townhouse.
EVen though I had always had our son 97% if the time, and my e x does NOT want custody --- what are my options court wise? Is there something I specifically file for the right to do (move? Had anyone heard of a court forcing someone to stay in an area when visitation with other parent is minimal?)
am so sorry such a big post....
I will try and keep this as unbiased (because trying to plead my case to look the best doesn't help me at all with advice) and as quickly as possible, and in advance, thank you so much for reading, and hopefully give me any advice. I want to move from NY to NC in July to be close to my family, and because honestly - it is just too expensive here. I am getting a small inheritance, but it is enough to put a downpayment on a house in NC. While my ex-husband initially agreed, and he said it was up to our almost 15 year old who he wanted to live with (which was me, since he has always lived with me) today he told me he wanted to go to court.
I had my son in 2009, and I left his father in 2010, when our son was five months old. I left the marriage because my then-husband was emotionally abusive.
After I left, I did not hear from my ex-husband for several months. Then my MIL got in touch asking to see my son, which I, of course, instantly agreed to. Over the next 5 months, my ex-husband started to interact with our son by way of his mother inviting him over when she had our son. I had no issue with this.
Then I got served papers, in which my ex-husband wanted visitation set up. I had no issue with this. My ex-husband did not go for custody, rather visits every other weekend and 2-3 hours once a week. I did not go after spousal support, and accepted $85 a week in child support, despite knowing my son was owed way more, in hopes he would take this a gesture of peace and spend more time with our son.
We lived right down the street from each other, and I did try and push my ex-husband to spend more time with our son so they could bond, but outside of every other weekend (many of which he spent with my ex's family) he asked for no additional time.
I legally have physical custody, his father has visitation Friday evening through Sunday morning bi-weekly. (I can not stress enough how I have never, ever withheld time with our son - I consistently tried to set things up outside of the limited visitation he requested.)
He got remarried when our son was small. When our son was in kindergarten I got a call that I had to come to the school right away. I got there ASAP and they told me the police were coming, and that my son had indicated being touched inappropriately. Long story short - CPS got involved, and requested a restraining order against my ex-husbands wife. Apparently, what we learned over the next year in court was that she has physically restrained my son in front of family by putting him in a "body lock" and in front of my exes family had also disrobed in front of my son. When my sister in law went to hide my sons face, my ex-husbands wife laughed and said, "Oh he's seen me naked lots of times." The court decided he had not been sexually touched (I also don't think she touched him, I just think she overstepped in HUGE ways - especially because I have never, ever used any type of physical force on my son OR taken my clothing off in front of him). CPS was the one that took her to court, however, as his mother I also had to be present. No matter what I say - my ex-husband and his wife think I did this. I am not sure why, it says right in the paperwork that it was the school that alerted the police, who in turn alerted CPS, who got this case brought before a judge. It had literally nothing to do with me. But the fact that all of this happened has made his wife incredibly demeaning towards me when speaking to my son. My son remembers her restraining him, and when his dad asked him why he didnt like his wife, my son said that she scared him. When his dad said, "What can she do to make you feel better?" My son said, "I think if she apologized to me that would help." She refused to apologize, and says she did nothing wrong. So my son, and she, dug their heels in - and they simply do not get along.
My father passed 3 years ago in July, and I took care of him, as he did hospice at home. Shortly after that, my Nana had a serious stroke, which caused pretty advanced dementia. She was in a nursing home right away, and our family asked if I would be willing to move 45 minutes away and care for her. In return, I would receive some money in her will the other grandchildren would not be. I said yes, although I would have without the added incentive of the money. My ex agreed to my moving, with our son, 45 minute away, when i explained that at the end of this - I would have enough for a small down payment.
My Nana passed last July.
I will be receiving around $50,000.00 at the end of June. I live about 30 minutes north of NYC, a standard high ranch here starts at $850k. I can not afford this. Up by ex-husband, homes in a decent school district, start at around $325k, I also can not afford these.
My brother and his wife live down in NC. It is absolutely beautiful, and I love it there. I also take care of my physically disabled mother, and she lives with me. It would be such a benefit to have help from my brother and his wife with my mom should there be any type of emergency.
My son is very intelligent, he tests in the high 90th percentiles, and does all of the extracurricular STEM activities. He loves coding, robotics, science, etc. My brother is very high up in the tech field, and would be such an incredible person to be in my son's day to day life. The school in the district we are moving to is absolutely outstanding. I would be able to put a down payment on a small house that I would own, and be able to put on the line for my son to attend college if I needed to. I can also finish college there, as I did not finish college as I was scouted to model while in college and I took that opportunity, then got married, and had my son. Until my father got ill and coid hit, I ran my own business (wedding florals) which was enough to care for him and myself. When Covid happened, there was no work as there were no weddings. Then my dads health took a turn and I cared for him, and then my Nana. Now -- we are here.
My ex does not want my son to attend college, as he does not feel it is fair for him to pay child support if he is in college (he does not out right say that is why, but through many conversations' about our son post-high school its become pretty clear why). He is pushing trade school endlessly with my son. My son has never bonded with his dad, and simply becomes frustrated, because he does not want to be a plumber (for some reason that's what his dad pushes) he wants to work in the sciences, specifically research. UNC is under 9k a year if you live in state, but over 35k coming from out of state, its a very solid college.
I told my ex several weeks ago that I wanted to move to NC, and the many reasons why it made sense. He initially understood, and said he would be upset not to see his son regularly, but that he understood my reasoning. He agreed that I had done a wonderful job raising our son, and that he was intelligent, kind, empathetic, had never been in any kind of trouble, and overall - is a really great kid. We talked about flying him back to NY in the summers.
Then my ex-husband said, "Well, I have other options here. Why doesn't he live with my Dad and my sisters? Dad retired, he has time. That way I can still see him every other week."
I said, "I think removing our son from me would be traumatic to him. I have been the day-to-day constant in his life. He is who he is because from day one I have put him, and his priorities first. Also, thats a big ask of your family - raising a kid is a massive investment of time and money. I don't think that is a feasible option, Are you saying that YOU would like to raise him?"
At first he said no. Then he said it was a possibility. I brought up that his school district has had several stabbings this year and a school wide "brawl." (The schools words, not mine.) His school district has a massive issue with gangs, and our son is just about the whitest kid with the least amount of street smarts you would ever meet. He was in this school district, in the middle school when I lived in that town, and he was in AP classes, so was pretty insulated, he kind of travelled from class to class with the same 60 kids that were in AP classes. But his last week there, he was grabbed by his sweatshirt and repeatedly thrown into a bank of closed lockers. He isn't sure why, nor was the administration.
So, my ex-husband said that he would go by what my son decided. He said, "Well, he is old enough to have some input on this. Let's talk to him." We brought our son into the conversation, and my ex-husband went through the options, "You could move very far away with Mom, and I wouldn't get to see you, OR you could live with Papa and the Aunties - and the other option is you could live with me and my wife."
Our son was clear on not wanting to attend the school in my ex-husbands district, and said that if he couldn't live with me, he guessed the next best thing would be Papa's, but that he wanted to stay with mom.
Then today, I heard from my ex, saying he wanted to go to court. After we spoke this is what I walked away with:
  1. Because a handful (maybe 5 or 6 times?) of times in my sons life, visitation was not possible- he says I withhold our son. I take great offense to this, as I feel I spent years begging him to see our son more. Our son has chronic staph infections after almost dying at 4 years old from going septic with MRSA (I am not sure how he caught it, he came back from an overnight with his dad and his chin was swollen 6x its normal size). The ONLY time I have said he can't go is when he either a. In the hospital for several days b. JUST out of the hospital and in bed sick/recovering or C. When the doctor calls in the creams and antibiotics and prescribed bed rest. When our son is sick, he wants be at home, in his own bed.
  2. He does not want to go to court to obtain custody of our son. He simply does not want me to leave.
  3. When i explained I really could not afford to live here anymore, and that it would require him helping me out on the difference from a 1 bedroom to a 2 (for our son) he said absolutely not. (the home I currently renting is being sold this summer, I have looked around and prices have risen so high, that a studio in the school district is over $2,000. A studio. And i have my mom here too.)
  4. His family is not willing to finish the raising of our son. I did speak with them about a week ago to let them know we were moving, and they were absolutely thrilled, despite being sad they would not see our son as regularly, As my SIL said, and I am paraphrasing, "I am SO happy for you guys, I think this is going to be so incredibly good for you guys. And being near your family is so important. You have always made decisions as you go that give him a better and better life. I am so happy for you."
  5. When I said, "You have known I am struggling, even just feeding him has been hard, He is almost 6 feet tall, and eats 3 meals a day plus in between snacks'. I don't want to feed him ramen, I want to make sure he gets veggies and meat, and eats a balanced diet. You have known I sometimes ask for child support a day early to go to the grocery store, and that the child support doesn't even cover his food - much less clothing, shoes, school supplies, rent, electricity, water, him going to the movies with his friends, video games... it doesn't even cover his grocery bill. And I recently saw that you got a very significant promotion around 2 years ago, and another VERY significant promotion very recently. Did you ever stop and think, 'She doesn't know I am making more money, so she isn't asking for more child support. But I know she is having a hard time with the costs of raising our son...?" He didn't say anything. And that hurts. It hurts because I can not imagine witholding anything from our son. Every single penny that I have goes toward shim, I honestly can not remember that last time I spend anything on myself.
I could not leave my son in NY. Just so everyone is aware, my entire life for almost 15 years has been about what is best for him.
And I am not sure if this is important - but my ex-husband's new wife, and my son do not get along. His new wife is very verbally aggressive with our son, very pushy (mostly about the trade school thing) and I have gotten dozens of phone calls from my son hiding in the bathroom crying, begging me to come get him. Which I never have, I just call his dad and ask him to please step in and try and make peace.
Is it possible that a court would force me to stay in NY state, despite the fact that my family support is in NC, our child is almost 15 and is very open about not wanting to live with his father, as he never has, and does not feel welcome when he is at his dad's house? I really, really have an opportunity to better our lives, and I won't get another opportunity in this lifetime to be able to own a small home of our own. It is such an amazing school district for him, especially as he is so incredibly driven academically. I'll have my family down the road, and this small inheritance, in conjunction with my moms inheritance from her mother will do absolutely nothing here in NY, but will go so far down south.
What do I do? Do I call the courthouse and request something? Lik.. I am not even sure what to request? I'm assuming something along the lines of a change of address with my son? Is this something legal aid could help me with? My ex-husband does well financially, as he has been fully focused on his career for the last 14 years, while my focus has been on our son. So while we live in a nice house, I absolutely do not have an extra few thousand dollars to go to court. And it would absolutely break my heart to go through the inheritance I have, as that is the whole reason I am able to move.

Trigger Warnings: emotional abuse and manipulation, verbal abuse
Original Post (rareddit): May 1, 2024
My daughter, Tamra, (14) has been going through a terrible phase at home. I (F38) can do nothing right. All she does is argue with me and scream. She will not do her chores and she makes life harder for me and her little brother (12). I was 14 once so I remember what it was like to be that age. I am doing my best to just get her through this. I may not always do the best job or keep my cool with her but I am trying.
My husband is out of town right now. His mom however lives a couple of towns over and has decided to chime in. Tamra called her when I grounded her for skipping school and vaping weed with her degen friends. I took away all her screen privileges except her laptop which she needs for school. I am a dummy because she called her grandmother on it.
My MIL Helen is usually a levelheaded woman so I have no idea why she has decided that her parenting advice is wanted or warranted at this time. She said that I am being cruel to her poor baby girl and that I should not be trying to control her like this. I said that I was punishing my daughter for unacceptable behavior and that how I reprimanded my child was not her problem. She countered with the fact that she raised four children, all boys by the way, that she did not have to punish this way. I know her youngest was out of the house before smartphones so it is different.
My daughter came into the room while I was talking to Helen and started screaming about what a terrible person I am and that she wants to move out as soon as she can. Helen said that none of her kids ever said that so she must be a better mother. I asked her if she was serious and wanted to give it a shot. Tamra jumped at the opportunity and begged her grandmother to take her. Helen agreed. I drove her to Helen's house and said I would come back when my husband gets home and we can talk.
I dropped her off on Saturday, three days ago. Helen started calling me on Sunday. I need to come get my daughter. Sorry I can't my son and I went to visit my folks for the week. I thought it would be a good opportunity to see my parents at their farm since my daughter hates it there away from her friends and the city. My parents are also the last people on earth with dial up internet. My son does not care because he gets to play with the horses. It is a little early yet for foals but who knows.
Helen asked me to please come get Tamra. She even called my husband. He called me and I told him what was going on. He said that if his mom had asked for it then she needed to follow through. I love that guy. I also fielded calls from my two sisters in law. They asked me what was going on. So I told them. They asked if I was really going to leave Tamra with our MIL for another week. I said that is where she was staying unless they wanted to watch her. They both noped out without suggesting I go get her.
Tamra and Helen each have their reasons for thinking I am an asshole. I do not think my daughter is.

armyofant: NTA. I’m curious why grandma wants her gone though.
OOP: She is behaving the same way there as she did at home. Usually Helen only comes to visit when my husband is home. Tamra does not behave like this around her dad. So Helen is experiencing her for the first time.
theNewLuce: I hope I'm NTA here, and hopefully you already know this, but I'll drip a drop of advice anyway.
Daughter needs a hard smack down from you(and it sounds like you're doing it), and needs hubby to pile on and make it well known he has your back. I'm only privy to what I've read here, but this feels like her challenging your position of authority.
Dads sometimes have a little of this with sons, and I think it's part of growing up, but the hierarchy has to be maintained.
Kids always think they're smarter than their parents, until the learn enough to know what they don't know.
OOP: She was getting it until Helen interfered.
Prestigious-Maybe-73: NTA. You are not abandoning her there permanently. You are letting her and her grandmother both have what they asked for. One week is not the end of the world. I am glad that your husband had your back. It is a shiny spine but support is great.
Healthy-Magician-502: NTA. Maybe this will teach your daughter a lesson about how to behave. Ignore everyone calling you an a-hole. I guarantee you they have feral children.

UPDATE on my daughter Tamra, my mother in law Helen, and refusing to pick her up when requested.: May 6, 2024 (5 days later)
I have been busy at my parents ranch and didn't notice that my original post was removed. I was lucky enough to find someone cross posted it here
Let's get the important stuff out of the way.
My son got to help with the birth of a colt. It is a healthy palomino. A little early like I said but it was an easy delivery for the mare. He was over the moon and can't wait to get back to the ranch.
My son and I picked up my husband from the airport and he was fuming. Not at us. At his mom and our daughter. He called his mom to let her know he had landed and that we were on our way.
When we got to Helen's house she was waiting bout front. She said that she was sorry for interfering with my parenting of Tamra. She said that raising four boys in the 80s and 90s is a whole lot different than a 14 year old girl today.
She said that she had made sure Tamra had entered the school in the morning and that she saw her come out of the school when she picked her up. And that she had not gotten a call from the school about truancy. So I guess that's a win.
She also said that she would not be watching Tamra again until she was over this phase.
We agreed that was for the best.
Tamra was upset that her doting grandmother had taken her vape. Also that her grandmother didn't have cash for her to get another one. And that she didn't have her phone to pay for another one. And that she was not allowed to visit with her friends after school since Helen lives two towns over. Tamra was indignant that her actions had consequences.
My husband and I gave Tamra a chance to call all her relatives to see if anyone else wanted to watch her. There was either resounding silence or overwhelming NOs.
I think she finally understands that everyone except up is done with her bullshit. My husband told her that the week at grandmother's house did not count towards her grounding. So she will be without a phone or tablet for the week he is home. He said that her behaviour will determine if she gets her stuff back.
For those of you wondering Helen looked a little like the parents in the airplane after the play in Addam's Family Values. Just beat. I take no pleasure it it. She was also smoking a cigarette which I have never seen her do.
Tamra is sulking. But she has appeared to accept her fate. She tried to put her laundry in the hamper but we said she can do her own.
My husband and I did discuss getting her some counseling and will be talking to her school guidance counselor about it. It may be something she could use.
Thanks for your comments on my first post. Take care.
Comments
Simple_Bowler_7091: Sometimes some tough love is needed. When skillfully applied, as it was here, it can create a teachable moment. Tamra learned some things. Hopefully that helps going forward.
MyLadyBits: Tamra brought this on herself. It’s not you or your husband’s job to ease her path in life. It’s parents job to teach children skills on how to cope and thrive.

2024.05.13 03:30 greenbird27314 Has anyone experienced horrible diarrhea?

Sorry. I know it’s gross. I have been on phen 37.5 for about a month now. My stomach would get a little sore early on if I ate greasy foods, so I have pretty much cut them out. They used to be me my main food group, hence the obesity.
My mom and sister picked one of my favorite restaurants for Mother’s Day, and I decided that I was going to enjoy my all-time favorite dish ever because I deserve it for how well I have been doing. I ate a dinner salad with a very tiny bit of ranch instead of digging in to the fried appetizers as I normally do. I ate about a third of my dish. It was so delicious. It was difficult to not eat more, but I was satisfied, so I reminded myself over and over that I did not need any more and I would take it home to enjoy another day.
About 15 minutes later, we were all sitting around talking and enjoying some nice after dinner chit-chat when the need to go hit me so bad I started sweating at the table. I texted my mom so as not to let everyone else know why I needed to leave in such a rush, and I dipped out quick.
I am thinking it was the fact that my dish was rich, creamy, and oily that made my stomach so unhappy. Like maybe it just isn’t used to that type of food anymore. I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced something like this.

2024.05.13 03:30 viewtoathrill Manderlay (2005)

2024: Post #71 Watched April 21st As part of the Curzon Lars von Trier Complete Collection IMDB Directed by: Lars von Trier Written by: Lars von Trier TSPDT: 7,242
138 minutes. Oh boy.
Before I even get into the troubling content I think it’s important to set up the film. Dogville was the first in this trilogy that von Trier was going to make about America. Manderlay was going to be the middle movie. He had initially wanted Nicole Kidman from Dogville to be in all three films, and even made her promise in an interview at Cannes in front of the press. For reasons that have officially only ever gone down as ‘scheduling conflicts’, Kidman did not return. Enter Bryce Dallas Howard to claim the role previously filled by one of the best actors of our generation.
So Grace returns and we meet her crossing the country from the mountains of Colorado to the slave plantation in Louisiana. Only problem is the year is 1933 and slavery hasn’t been around for a minute. So Grace decides to stay and play the role of white savior to a farm that somehow never got the news that slaves were free. She meets the white owner of the estate, known as Man, and quickly meets Wilhelm as well. Wilhelm is a slave but is in the house with Mam and appears to be the most educated of the imprisoned.
Like Dogville, this is shot on a soundstage with minimal props. It is a fable of sorts, told in chapters, and has a similar feeling where Grace knows everything and can do anything but struggles to change the minds of the people she meets in her journeys. It is a movie that is without a doubt in the same universe, but it is also a movie that does not match the quality of Dogville on any level. Of all the offensive things von Trier pulled off in Manderlay, the most offensive is possibly the fact that he just made a bad movie. It’s written without the same emotional depth, the acting is worse, there’s just not a reason this movie needs to exist.
And that’s without the fact it’s an extremely uncomfortable film to have been written by a white non-American. Why he chose to write and make this film I will never understand. He goes to major effort to make sure we know there are 7 different types of n*gg**s on the plantation. It feels like him and Tarantino (with Django) got together and laughed maniacally about what they could get away with as long as the movie was generally on the side of the Black Americans. Anyways, von Trier made a bunch of bold decisions in the script, including trying to shoehorn in a logic that maybe it was actually better for a group of people to remain enslaved if they weren’t ready to live in the new world.
Defenders of the movie will probably point out that it wasn’t really a story about slavery as much as a story about white privilege and how Grace got the choice to just pick up and leave when things got tough. I’ll listen to that, but it can’t overlook the fact von Trier is out of his depth here and missed the cultural nuances required to make this movie even if he had done his research and had good evidence on paper of what he wanted to do. And, like I said, maybe worst of all is he just didn’t make a very good movie.

2024.05.13 03:17 Agitated-Inspector-4 Apartment Cat missing for a month, is there any hope?

My Cat has been missing for 4 weeks as of today. For background my girlfriend and our cats live on the 5th floor of an apartment which basically makes it impossible for her to come home on her own, has anyone ever got their cat back in a similar situation, could use some kind of hope, below is what we’ve tried:
How we lost her:
We had bought both our cat harnesses and decided to take them for a walk when the one missing cat got spooked and slipped out of the harness, the cat ran up a tree and got to close to the end of the branch when I went climbed up to get her, the branch snapped and she fell maybe 8 feet and ran off into some blackberries. The “forest” is a smallish nature conservation area surrounded by apartments, so it’s very over grown and no one really goes in there at all so it makes for great hiding places and is very difficult for us to get through. There doesn’t seem to be anything dangerous to her in there, I’ve spent quite a bit of time looking and there just seems to be a ton of bunnies, and mice. Never even seen a raccoon or a coyote or anything like that. The forest is right beside our apartment.
What we’ve done to try and get her back:
After we initially lost her we called her for hours, with no luck. So we went down to Home Depot and bought some humane cat traps and set them out with her food and litter inside, that night and the next couple we called her for hours again no luck, no luck with the traps either. We put up posters all over the neighbourhood and social media, no luck. Eventually we got recommended to try a Proffesional pet finding business that extremely good reviews. The pet searcher brought a blood hound and a thermal drone. Unfortunately we were too close to the airport to use the thermal drone. But when he searched the area and surrounding complex’s with the blood hound he got a strong sent next to our building (she’d only been out once and when we were walking her she’d never been to that area so it seemed optimistic!) we set up traps where the sent was strongest and he gave us some tips this included: covering the trap with a towel to make it more like a cave, scenting the area with chicken broth, leaving a bit of food just outside the trap, and covering the metal bottom of the trap with a tea towel. He as well had wireless cameras connected to the cell network with a motion detector so if anything came by he would see it. After about a week and a half no luck we tried moving the trap around to different sections of the black berries, which is where the scent seemed to come from (side of the building is by thick blackberries, we always see bunnies ripping on and out of there). After a week and a half of no sightings we called him back and his dog this time did not smell her on the side of the building but as he made his way into the creek forest area the dog did air scent the smell. Unfortunately, he couldn’t get a very exact location because the area is just so over grown. We’ve continued moving the traps but still had no luck, at night I walk around the forest with a bright flash light hoping to catch her eyes. No luck. Thinking about calling him back and asking him if he could try and get the dog in further to give us a better more precise location. It just seems like she’s not interested in the food or traps at all, the way we’ve been moving it around it’s hard for me to think she hasn’t smelt it. One other thing, mice started to come by and eat the food so we did need up putting the food in a tipper ware container where I’ve drilled out the holes so the smell gets out but the food can’t get eaten as eventually it seemed like the mice started getting to the food about an hour after we’d set the traps.
A bit about her:
She was a stray cat we found at my parents house at about 3 - 4 weeks old. She’s loved with my girlfriend ever since from about 6 months to 2.5 years old she was an indoor / outdoor cat and always came back. She would occasionally catch birds and bring them to my girlfriend, so she was a bit of a hunter. She was always a bit skittish but loves people but is scared of them if that make sense. For the last year and a bit she’s been an indoor only cat as my girlfriend and I moved into an apartment. Part of me feels like she’s gone back to her roots of being a bit of a feral cat and she’s found a safe spot in the forest and won’t come out.
TL/DR: lost my cat for a month and we live on the 5th floor of an apartment, nothing is working, is there a chance she could come back, getting very tough on me and my girlfriend.

2024.05.13 00:16 EvilDave219 Summary of the 5/5/2024 Vicious Syndicate Podcast (Dr. Boom’s Incredible Inventions Preview Discussion)

Listen to the most recent Vicious Syndicate podcast here - https://www.vicioussyndicate.com/vs-data-reaper-podcast-episode-162/
Read the most recent VS Report here - https://www.vicioussyndicate.com/vs-data-reaper-report-293/
As always, glad to do these summaries, but a summary won't be able to cover everything and can miss nuances, so I highly recommend listening to their podcast as well. The next VS report for Whizbang's Workshop will be out Wednesday May 22nd (mainly due to balance changes being likely on the 23rd), with the next podcast likely next weekend. A comprehensive preview article for the upcoming miniset will come out tomorrow (May 13th) on VS's website.
Death Knight - Death Knight is currently a zombie class, so it needed desperate help in the miniset. ZachO says he's not too excited about the Death Knight cards. Foamrender is potentially an infinite weapon for Rainbow DK, but it does compete with Corpse Bride as a corpse spender. The weapon might be a fit in the slower, more reactive build that was popular for most of the expansion. ZachO wonders if you even bother running the card or if you just rely on discovering it off of Runes of Darkness to make it a 6 attack weapon. He thinks the card will have an impact regardless of if it's run or not. Toysnatching Geist is a pseudo handbuff payoff, but ZachO's not a fan of the card. Generally, at the point in the game you would play this in a handbuff deck, the mana cheat payoff starts to become less relevant. There's also high variance in the Undead pool, and whatever you discover doesn't get the previous handbuffs you've used. Squash thought Toysnatching Geist would be similar to Window Shopper when he first saw the card, but mentions the Undead pool has way too much variance compared to the Demon pool. On curve the card is worse than Nerubian Vizier. The Gigantify version of the card can give you a big discount in the late game, but at that point every late game deck likely has an answer to whatever you develop. Helm of Humiliation's 2x Blood rune restriction seems baffling, and even if it was 1 rune the card is likely to still not be good. As the card stands now, it's Righteous Defense for 1 more mana and the rune restriction means you can't play Reska in the same deck. Squash says the thing he doesn't like about Foamrender for Rainbow DK is that it's another 5 mana corpse spending card, and there's already a logjam with Corpse Bride and Army of the Dead in that archetype at 5 mana.
Demon Hunter - Sock Puppet Slitherspear is a 1 drop Naga, so it instantly goes into the Sharpshooter variant of Shopper DH and Naga DH. If DH sees play, this card will see play. Outside of Slitherspear, ZachO and Squash aren't impressed with the other DH cards. Return Policy is slightly better than Nine Lives and it can run with Umpire's Grasp, but that synergy doesn't matter if you've already drawn your Shoppers. There are not enough powerful Deathrattles in DH to justify the card. Squash thinks it's a bigger picture card that gets better with more Deathrattle support. Gibbering Reject might be an okay discover off of Shopper in some situations, but neither ZachO nor Squash want to main deck it. Summoning 2 3/3s for 4 mana isn't even that powerful. There's a turn 8 play with the card and Going Down Swinging to fill your board, but that's still very late.
Druid - ZachO thinks Snuggle Teddy is unplayable because you'll never have time to play the 8 mana version of it. If you can safely play an 8 mana 8/8 in an aggro matchup, you're already winning that game. The 3 drop body is okay in the early game against small minions, but it's not that great if there's anything with 4+ attack on the opposing board. He thinks Elusive is somewhat overrated as a keyword since there are a lot of non targeted removal effects, AoE effects, and Rush minions in the game. Squash likes Toyrantus but ZachO also thinks the card is bad and compares it to Soggoth. 14/14 in stats is massive, but it requires you to be at 10 mana and there's too much removal that can deal with it at that point. You might be able to run the card in Reno Druid, but do you really want to draw this card off of Summer Flowerchild? Overgrown Beanstalk is the card that is most likely to see play, but Treant Druid needs to pop up for the card to be viable, and that archetype is currently nowhere on ladder. Beanstalk is a powerful draw engine for the archetype, so there's a chance it brings back the archetype, but ZachO wouldn't be overly excited to play Treant Druid. Even if Snuggle Teddy and Toyrantus are good enough to be the final cards you add to Reno Druid, the cards are bland and don't change how the deck fundamentally plays. Druid's miniset feels weird because none of the cards "talk" to any of the existing cards from Whizbang.
Hunter - Squash thinks Product 9 is very powerful, and ZachO agrees. Reno Hunter is competitively viable right now even if it doesn't see much play, and Product 9 can immediately fit into it. ZachO likes Bargain Bin and thinks it's one of the better secrets Hunter has received. Similar to Dirty Tricks in Rogue, but you can't play around the card. It has great synergy with Starstrung Bow. Only downside of Bargain Bin is that later in the game it's more likely to only draw 1 card since it's more likely you've drawn all your weapons. ZachO thinks in Reno Hunter you switch out Bait and Switch for Bargain Bin and run Observer of Mysteries for additional secret synergy for Product 9. With the rumored nerf to Saddle Up, interest in Reno Hunter might rise, and there's a chance Secret Hunter might also be playable. Wilderness Pack is unplayable. Squash points out the synergy with Mountain Giant and the packs filling your hand, but it's likely not good enough by itself.
Mage - Squash thinks Darkmoon Magician is a complete joke. ZachO jokes that a "Miracle Mage" style deck could play a bunch of cheap garbage spells on turn 7/8 to get a worse effect than Yogg in the Box. It is worth noting that because Elusive is on the card, it cannot target and kill itself with the random spells you cast. Malfunction is the one playable Mage card from the miniset. It's very consistent early game removal, which is something Spell Mage currently struggles with. The problem is Spell Mage has a 40% winrate, and it's hard to imagine this card alone lifts the archetype's winrate more than a few percentage points. Buy One, Get One Freeze is bad Reverberations. Even if you copy a Titan with it, you can't use its effect the turn you play the card. ZachO says the only Mage deck that Reverb has been good in is Rainbow Mage, and the reason it works in that deck is because of the additional utilization it has to copy Sif. Squash says the frustrating thing about Malfunction is that the only Spell Mage variant that has looked anywhere close to viable is the burn heavy variant that runs Lightshow and Stargazing. Because Malfunction is an Arcane card, it can mess up the Stargazing draw, but ZachO says that does help with aggressive matchups. He would be more excited if the card did face damage, but he feels like Team 5 was cautious with the card.
Paladin - Paladin got some strong Holy spell synergy cards, but they're reliant on Paladin having strong Holy spells, which the class currently doesn't have much of. Holy Glowsticks is a good card and a direct upgrade from Void Shard. Hi-Ho Silverwing's draw does make the card more consistent. Aggressive board centric decks getting offboard damage is always welcomed, and it's also a good defensive tool for slower decks. The problem is there are no current defensive Paladin decks. Flickering Lightbot would be much stronger if a card like Holy Makyroll was still in Standard, but right now Paladin is not spell centric to effectively discount the card, and there are no defensive keywords on it. Boogey Down, Hand of Adal, and Crusader's Aura are the only Holy spells you feel good about running right now. These feel like more "big picture" cards. Whack A Gnoll is Runes of Darkness without a condition to activate the +1/+1, but the weapon pool is much less consistent. ZachO says looking at the Paladin weapon pool, it's pretty bad. However, even bad weapons can become good if you give them +1/+1, so maybe it's good enough to give an aggressive Paladin deck more reach.
Priest - Squash thinks Funhouse Mirror is a strong card, but ZachO is more skeptical of it. It looks bad compared to The Light It Burns, but almost all removal does. Main upside of the card would be copying a Titan or a high impact Deathrattle. The card seems fringe as another conditional Priest removal spell. ZachO says Puppet Theatre scares him, because if that card is ever good it's uninstall Hearthstone material. It can choke out powerful late game battlecry minions, and Priest getting a 1 mana copy can be very punishing. The location is unplayable in faster matchups, but it could be toxic if it's ever good. Delayed Product is a waste of time. It has no direction or synergy. Priest set in general right now looks like a skip.
Rogue - Dubious Purchase is a good card. Twisted Pack would have been good with prenerf Gaslight Gatekeeper, but it feels too slow now. Dust Bunny seems somewhat inconsistent with the things it can give you (Rock and Coin are good, Banana and Knife are not). ZachO does think Gaslight Gatekeeper may have been a pre-emptive nerf because of Twisted Pack being added into the miniset. He does think Twisted Pack might see play in a Cutlass Rogue deck, and of all the packs it's arguably the best one. Because "Pack" cards follow the rules of traditional packs with the card rarities it gives you, you're likely to get a bunch of common cards, which tend to be cheap. ZachO does think Dust Bunny is better than Bounty Wrangler, but he also thinks the only great outcome of the card is if it gives you a coin. ZachO thinks Rogue's set would be the best if Gaslight Gatekeeper were still 3 mana, because all these cards add more cards to your hand for Gatekeeper.
Shaman - Murloc Growfin is an Alley Cat with one of the bodies having Rush, and the Gigantify version has strong synergy with Shudderblock. Both ZachO and Squash agree this is one of the best cards of the miniset. It's a strong card in both early game and the late game. Squash points out that Growfin's 2 bodies on turn 1 means you can have a turn 2 target for Trusty Companion to tutor out your other Growfin in a duplicate deck. Wave of Nostalgia is similar to Stormbringer, but it's not playable if your opponent has a board since the effect is symmetrical. ZachO thinks Rocket Hopper would be good if the Overload were only 3 since you could play Thorim the next turn on curve. The problem with Rocket Hopper is that Command of Neptulon did the same thing for significantly less of an Overload downside. Squash says the one combo you can do with the card is being able to play Flowrider into Overdraft the following turn, but it doesn't feel like there's a current deck you can fit that into. Because the card causes you to essentially skip your next turn, if your opponent has removal for it, you basically lose the game.
Warlock - Mass Production is draw 2 for 1 mana, but it is a weird card. You technically can't hit fatigue running the card, but you'll eventually kill yourself if you keep playing it. If Wheel Warlock was still around, the card would have been great in it. It feels like an easy inclusion in Painlock and Insanity Warlock. The card can mess up your later draws if a key card is stuck at the bottom of your deck. Domino Effect is an interesting effect, but both ZachO and Squash say they have no idea how to evaluate the card. Both are unsure of how the card resolves (does a minion need to live in order for the effect to continue?), so they need to see it live play before they can properly evaluate the card. INFERNAL! doesn't deal damage to your hero, so it doesn't discount Horror. However, it does accelerate Molten Giants and it is a 4 mana 6/6 with Taunt, so it may see play in Painlock. Squash points out the card can be a big heal if you're at very low health in Painlock. ZachO initially seems skeptical about the card but comes around to it in Painlock.
Warrior - The Warrior set is arguably the one set that "speaks" best to its Whizbang set. ZachO thinks Part Scrapper is the strongest card in the set and the most likely one to be nerfed. Safety Expert might be the card that actually makes Chemical Spill work. Dream curve is playing Boom Wrench on 4 and Chemical Spill on 5 to load up your opponent's deck with bombs. Later in the game, you can activate the Deathrattle even more or bring it out via Inventor Boom. This is strong inevitability. Safety Expert or Zilliax can also be cheated out earlier using Part Scrapper in combination with either Safety Googles or Armor Vendor. Squash asks if Testing Dummy would fit in this archetype, and ZachO points out that because Chemical Spill pulls out the highest cost minion, it's unlikely to hit Testing Dummy most of the time. Town Crier and Instrument Tech can also tutor out Boomwrench and Safety Expert to make them more consistent. ZachO thinks it might be better focusing on survivability with your bombs being the late game inevitability. Squash mentions Quality Assurance also tutors out Testing Dummy, so whatever direction the deck goes it'll have consistency. Standardized Pack is unplayable. Bomb Warrior seems like the most likely new archetype to emerge from the miniset.
Neutrals - Explodineer feels like a card that was meant for Warrior, but they ran out of class space so they put it in as a neutral (which isn't a bad thing). Pro Gamer is a funny card, but it's terrible. Losing the RPS is so bad because the opponent can immediately play their cards. Building-Block Golem is a card that looks good for decks that go wide (maybe Aggro Paladin), but the stat line is a bit clunky. ZachO doesn't like the card against slower decks that tend to not play a lot of minions, because the body could be stranded. Potentially a good card, but may not have a place in a current deck. Does provide a big discount to Ticking Pylon Zilliax though. ZachO is not a fan of The Replicator-inator. It's a creative card, but its use may be limited. Squash mentions you can copy the Paladin Titan with the mini, but Paladin may not want to play a 5 mana 5/5. Seems pointless to play the 8 mana version. The mini has some applications, but the initial 5/5 body seems very slow and weak. Squash doesn't think the card is hopeless, but it needs a very specific target for it to be worth running. ZachO and Squash think Puppetmaster Dorian is the more compelling Legendary. Could be powerful with cheap draw (Mass Production or Gear Shift). There's more potential for the card since it is a powerful effect on paper, especially with tutor effects. This combo does have a cute combo in Wild with Psyche Melon since it can draw all of the Aviana/Kun pieces and play them the same turn. ZachO says he does like the card in Druid because the class has ramp and tutors. This is a thought provoking card because it's an interesting puzzle piece to figure out where it belongs.
Other miscellaneous talking points -
  • ZachO and Squash think this miniset feels more like a prelude to the next expansion than an addendum to Whizbang's set, because so many of the cards have synergies that have come out of nowhere. A lot of these cards don't "speak" to the previous expansion cards (ex - Druid getting a Treant card, DH getting a Deathrattle focused card, Paladin getting Holy spell synergy cards, everything Priest got). They think this is a relatively low powered miniset, but there are things they want to play around with. ZachO thinks this miniset was more cautious because of the last 2 minisets breaking the game at various points, which he's not a big fan of. He'd rather see more brave design that gets nerfed in the next patch if it does end up breaking the game. Assuming Reno Warrior gets nuked out of playability, the possibility of Mech Warrior being playable is welcomed, and we may also see a rise in Reno Hunter interest. ZachO and Squash are really not fans of the direction of Priest getting overly reactive cards, because these cards will either be flat out bad or unbearable to play against. Assuming Brann is nuked, hopefully new late game strategies open up and the best thing to do in the late game isn't Excavate Rogue.

2024.05.12 23:25 bekefried The greatness and humanity of Roberto Canessa

I've been quite obsessed with the Andes story because of its extremely complex human elements and I've been reading a lot about it and listening to a lot of interviews with the survivors. So of course I had to show the SOTS movie to my best friend, she liked it and even borrowed my book Alive and read it, and when she gave it back to me, she commented "that Canessa guy is a real asshole though", and I was like "shut up, he's one of my favourite human beings ever!" LOL
But thinking about it, if someone only saw the movie(s) and/or read Alive, I understand why Roberto comes across as a not so pleasant guy, so I decided I'll write a post of appreciation here in case anyone doesn't know what great things he has done in his life.
But let me start with two quotes about him from two of his fellow survivors, the first one of from Nando Parrado, who said this in a video interview a few months ago when the movie was released and they asked him what Roberto meant to him:
"I put him on the highest pedestal anyone can get to as a person, as a man, as a friend. And if there is a difficult situation on this planet, I want Roberto by my side."
And Bobby Francois said about him in the book Society of the Snow:
"Roberto Canessa is an extraordinary person. If we thought he had given so much on the mountain, how much he has given down here after we returned!" - and also: "Roberto just gives and gives. But he doesn’t talk about his gestures. And I’m sure that he wouldn’t like it if I were to bring up his generosity."
So some points to support that Roberto is awesome:

2024.05.12 21:53 Ok_Resolution_9417 Exposed Cheater By My Facebook Profile Picture

I (22f) was dating said (32m), we will call him Pete. Pete and I lived in a smaller town that almost everyone knew eachother. When Pete and I started dating, I would frequently go over to his house. I would hangout there for hours and I mean all day. But I need to give you some background of what his house looked like so you can picture what I’m talking about. He had a 2 story 4 bedroom lake house. Based on what I knew about him, he was very close with his 4 year old “niece” and had one of the guest bedrooms downstairs set up with a childs room containing a princess bed, toys everywhere, etc. I knew for a fact that his sister did have a daughter and he did not have any children so I thought it was actually kind of cute. He would go on to tell me all the time how close he and his sister was and how she would come over almost weekly since her divorce and would stay with Pete. However, this one particular day, it was Christmas time and we had plans to go to a holiday party. I mentioned the idea of spending the night because we would both be drinking and the party was in his neighborhood. At this point, I never spent the night at his house before since we haven’t been dating that long (3 months) and I was still in college which my campus was a 40 minute drive away so between classes and working, it wasn’t ideal. He seemed very happy with the idea once I brought it up and we kept having casual conversation until it was time to get ready. I went into the guest bathroom upstairs to take a shower and I noticed some black fuzzy slippers. I assumed they were his sisters but when I went to reach for a towel underneath the sink, it looked like a tornado went through his bathroom with all these feminine products and shampoos thrown under the sink and I mean thrown like in a rush to be hidden. At this point, I knew something was up because even if your sister comes here, she isn’t going to have hundreds of products kept here. So after I shower, I mention to him about the slippers and the disaster under his sink. He looked confused (of course) and said that the women who does his pedicures gave those to him??? So me being the FBI investigator I am, I start looking through the rest of the house. As I went to open the 2nd guest room door, I was able to see in enough and he came and grabbed the door knob saying I couldn’t go in there. I asked why even though I already saw once again, a tornado of clothes, shoes, purses, etc. all over the floor. He said because his safe was in there (as if I knew the code to get into it or like would anyway?) So I just play dumb. I’m like “yeah Pete of course! I know it’s your sisters.” So everyone who knows Pete (remind you I lived in a small town) knows what his bedroom looks like and he has this super interesting and easy to identify mirror because of all of his selfies on social media. I get glammed up and go take selfies in his mirror. Once I am ready for the party, he faked a phone call saying his “niece” is having an emergency and needs to go to the hospital and I need to leave asap. I kind of already knew this was coming based on everything I discovered so far but the way he was trying to literally kick me out of his house confirmed that someone was on their way. So I smiled, told him I knew, and that I always get the last laugh. He looked very puzzled as I walked out of the house into my car and said “you’ll be hearing from me very soon.” After a night of investigating, I found out a lot of things about Pete such as that he didn’t really have a sister, his job was a fraud, and most importantly, I found his girlfriend. We will call her Nicole. Before reaching out to Nicole, I uploaded my brand new Facebook profile photo and sent her a request. Immediately she accepted me and asked why was my profile photo in her boyfriend’s bedroom. And it begun. Pete immediately starts blowing up my phone and of course at the same time so is Nicole. Nicole asked if she can call me and I accept. I told Nicole the truth and asked her if she had a daughter. She said yes I have a four year old and Pete does not in fact have a sister. I explained to Nicole that Pete and I have been dating each other for several months now and he told me that she was his sister and that her daughter was his niece. She was stunned. She said they have been dating for 10 months but she never understood why he never posted her on social media and only her daughter but now she did. Nicole shared with me that she works nights as a vet tech and that is how we never ran into each other. Nicole wanted to know all of the details and at first I didn’t feel comfortable sharing with her, but she really wanted to know the truth so I did. Nicole then went to post our messages and called Pete out for cheating via Instagram. I was mortified. She did not paint me in a bad light but was giving me my flowers for telling her the truth. I thought that was a weird way of showing it but I understood she wanted to expose Pete to everyone in our small town. Fortunately for me, I did not get any backlash from people but empathy and could not wait until this passed over. After being cussed out and threatened by Pete, and him telling me I ruined a four-year-old’s life, he showed up to my apartment throwing a temper tantrum. He wasn’t violent but he started crying and screaming how I ruined his life and his sisters (LOL still going with that) and eventually, he left me alone for the rest of that night. I found out later that evening that Nicole packed up all her things and left him. He continued to text me for the next several months how I ruined his fake life and how lonely he is. I blocked him. 2 years later I heard he eventually moved to the same state I did and was trying to get ahold of me. We ironically saw each other at top golf (I think someone told him where I was obviously) and came begging for me back. I kindly declined. To this day, Nicole and I stayed acquaintances and she told me I was the most clever person she ever met. But like I told him, I always get the last laugh.

2024.05.12 18:01 blexchella family always leaves me (22m) out of things and i’m sick of it (rant)

so yesterday was my nephews bday party & i went with my mom. afterwards we all went to get lunch, and my mother doesn’t really know how to act appropriate in public, and she was like joking with us about our server because she kept bringing us so much ranch, and my mom was like “well damn just bring us the whole bucket” as our server was walking away, but she said it loud in a way where the server could hear, and i told her to stop because it was embarrassing. like this poor girl is already having to deal with our loud ass, needy, family. then she said “this is why we always do stuff without you” 🙃 and her and my sister had been talking all day about their mother’s day plans (that they’ve had planned) to go out on the boat and the jet skis, not once was this ever mentioned to me nor was i invited. and as we are getting ready to leave, my sister goes “are you coming?” and i said, “no i wasn’t invited” and my moms like “she’s inviting you right now!” and i was like “that’s not an invite. and apparently there’s a reason i’m never invited to things” and ig it didn’t click with her what i was trying to say. but i opted to end the conversation there because i didn’t want to argue with her in the car for an hour. but im just like, if you want me to come, you would include me in the plans you’ve already made. because i know for a fact if i didn’t go to my nephews party then i would’ve never known about their plans. asking someone if they’re coming when they are standing around hearing you talk about said plans is an invite by association/ guilt. so no, im not coming. now i’m home alone while my family is out celebrating mother’s day on the boat and jet skis. also, thanks mom for the confirmation that i’m intentionally not invited to things. every time something like this happens i tell her i wasn’t invited and she’s always tried to gaslight me into believing i don’t have to be invited. moral of the story is that i’m the black sheep in this family, always have been, and i can’t fucking wait to leave again. i already don’t have a father that’s in the picture and now knowing that my family doesn’t like me around just feels fucking great! and don’t get me wrong, i love my family, and they love me. my mom always has her doors open if i ever need a place to live, but it’s like, at what cost? feeling like my family doesn’t like me every time im home? watching you all go have fun & never inviting me?
TLDR: mom admitted that they don’t invite me to things and now i’m butthurt and annoyed.

1999 - Judge Mario Frigenti, in Rome ruled that Michael, in composing his song "Will You Be There,'' plagiarized an Italian songwriter. The judge immediately suspended a $2,200 fine, but ordered Michael to pay court costs (which could be high as the case has taken four years to pass through court).
Singer & songwriter Al Bano first claimed Jackson stole part of the musical motif to his song "I Cigni Di Balka (The Swans Of Balaka)" in 1993. The trial began two years later.
Michael said he has never met Bano & had never heard of his song until the suit was brought. His lawyers argued simple similarity did not constitute plagiarism.
The court heard an expert say that 37 notes were the same in each song.
One of Michael's lawyers, Alberto Seganti, said he will appeal. "There is no proof of plagiarism". In a hearing in Rome two years ago Michael told the court there was some similarity between the two songs, "but it's completely coincidental."
After the verdict, Al Bano invited Jackson to join him in performing a concert for the children of Kosovo.
"The criminal court's ruling was groundless and a travesty," Jackson's copyright lawyer Eve Wagner said at that time. "The criminal court had not only ignored the previous rulings by six other judges in Jackson's favor but also the opinion of the court's own expert that there was 'no possibility of plagiarism.'"
In the previous year, Bano lost a civil case for copyright infringement against Jackson & was ordered to pay expenses. Bano has also brought numerous civil cases against Jackson but has failed to win any of them.
In the past, Michael has been cleared of plagiarism allegations in the United States involving his Dangerous and Thriller albums.
In March of 2001, a Rome appeals court overturns the lower court’s decision, clearing Michael of plagiarism allegations.

In a press release, Michael stated:
“I am pleased with recent developments involving Neverland Ranch and I am in discussions with Colony and Tom Barrack with regard to the Ranch and other matters that would allow me to focus on the future"
2009 - AEG issues a press release to officially announce Kenny Ortega as the show producer. Along with the press release is a new picture of Michael & Ortega during the rehearsals.
The streets of Hollywood are buzzing; Michael Jackson mania is in full swing 5,500 miles away from The O2 arena – the home of his historic 50 concerts this summer.
Kenny Ortega, the renowned Director, Producer, Choreographer and creative talent is hard at work collaborating with Michael Jackson in the overall design and direction for the upcoming ‘This Is It’ concert shows. Ortega previously worked on Michael Jackson’s Dangerous and HIStory tours, some of the most spectacular shows ever staged. Last week, thousands of dancers flew in from every corner of the globe including Japan, Australia, South America and Europe to audition for Jackson and Ortega – all of them were chasing their dream of winning a spot to perform on stage with their idol Michael Jackson.
Even after the selection process narrowed the competition from thousands of submissions to over five hundred top international dancers, there was still no dance space large enough in Los Angeles or New York to house the auditions. The producers ended up booking LA’s Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE, part of the site where the Grammy Awards are held each year, to handle the unprecedented numbers of performers who flocked to these auditions.
Ortega, having once been in partnership with Gene Kelly, is most recently known for his work as the Director and Choreographer of Disney’s, High School Musical 1, 2 & 3. Ortega also Produced and Directed the Barbra Streisand’s Millennium concert tour and is a two time Emmy award winner for his work as Director and Choreographer of the 2002 Winter Olympics opening and closing ceremonies in Salt Lake City, Utah.
In receiving the phone call from Michael to lead the team, Ortega said, “My answer without a beat was nothing could keep me away. Collaborating with Michael on the Dangerous and HIStory tours were two of the greatest creative experiences of my life, to be invited to partner with him again is a dream come true. Working with Michael is always a true and full partnership, he is a creative mastermind, he assembles top professionals to lead his team and then inspires each and every one of us to climb to new places, break out of the box and conquer new challenges. He is the most significant artist and entertainer of our generation.”
“This Is It” is a spectacular concert experience incorporating iconic Jackson songs and choreography mixed with original new works. Ortega says, “Our show goals are to create more than a concert but a complete theatrical musical experience with a dynamic balance that features Jackson in both spectacular production and intimate settings. The stage set, choreography, costumes, lighting, effects and overall production will be of the highest standard and pushing the state of the art.” Michael is dedicated to every detail and aspect of the show working closely with his creative and talented production team. He is “tremendously excited” about sharing his stage show with hundreds of thousands of fans this summer in London. Ortega goes on to say, “It has been over a decade since Michael and I worked on the HIStory tour together. We had been in discussion in the last couple of years about finding a new project to work on. When I got the call to join him for these concerts I was in-between gigs, catching my breath. I had just finished a World Press tour for High School Musical and was about to start a new film. In accepting the invitation I had to move a few mountains to clear my schedule, but I’m thrilled to say I’m fully on board.”
Casting is in final stages for dancers and the band. The dedication, passion and determination of these performers, who are all personally inspired by Michael Jackson brings an unprecedented intensity to the stage. Michael Jackson, The King of Pop, has influenced a generation of performers through his music, dance and stage shows impacting an art form. This week with rehearsals in full swing the impossible has become possible as details to this complex and dramatic show are being put together. And when moments get intense and exciting in rehearsals an age-old British tradition has been adopted – a tea break!
Ortega adds, “I go to work each day with a huge sense of joy just knowing what is in-store. Michael, the team and I will hash out a creative idea, we’re ready to implement it and Michael will say let’s sleep on it. The next day he is back in studio raising the bar to the next level and pushing us further for greater dynamic results.” Randy Phillips, President & CEO of AEG Live, commented, “The unprecedented demand for these shows turned a normal public on sale into a cultural phenomenon and pushed the boundaries by which we measure success. Michael and Kenny are creating an escapist adventure that will take the audience on an entertainment experience only imagined in dreams or big budget motion pictures. This is the perfect pairing on unique creative talents with the greatest repertoire in contemporary music.”
Ortega concludes, “I am looking forward to the creative days ahead as we build a Michael Jackson experience like no other, and to ultimately arriving at The O2 - a magnificent venue and a worldly place. I am thrilled to be a part of the team that once again is bringing Michael Jackson, the greatest entertainer of our generation, back to the stage and into the light and love of his devoted fans.” By the end of the 50 concerts, 1 million fans will have witnessed one of the greatest musical events in history. This will be the last chance to see the King of Pop in London in what will be a historic stage show, and once in a lifetime concert experience - this really is it!
Note To Editors – One of the world’s most popular entertainers, Michael Jackson has sold over 750 million units worldwide and is one of the very few artists to be inducted twice into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Guinness Book of World Records has recognised Michael Jackson as the Most Successful Entertainer of All Time and Thriller as The Biggest Selling Album of All Time. Jackson won 13 Grammy Awards and received the American Music Award’s Artist of the Century Award.
Michael's This Is It 50 concerts sold out in a matter of hours on March 13th smashing box office records.

2024.05.12 11:46 Apprehensive-Gur3414 Hey guys, this is the backstory for a One Shot I’m planning on doing with my friends based on Five Nights at Freddy’s (but still in the same time period as regular D&D), any thoughts

The Twisted Chronicle of William Aftonson: The Necromancer of The Living Armor There once was a magician know as William Aftonson, He wasn’t experienced in the moral fields, his true passion was Necromancy but he kept that hidden from the world because he knew he’d be banished from any rightminded society if anyone knew about it, so he hid these thoughts from the world and spent his time running his tavern “Aftonson’s And Emily’s” that he opened with his friend years ago, thought sadly his friend, Henry Emily, had been lost to suicide a few months ago, and as a result, the tavern had been struggling. Aftonson had experimented with living armor since he saw them being used to defend a castle during a siege demonstration and he had been fascinated ever since so he thought he could use them as entertainment, it had never been done before but Aftonson knew if he could pull it off, his tavern would be the talk of the town, maybe even the talk of the entire kingdom. Aftonson had run into many roadblocks, for starters the animations of the living armor were lifeless, they would scare kids, not entertain them, he knew that he had to inject some kind of childlike wonder into the living armor, and he knew exactly how to do it. He forged his own set of bronze armor, he gave it rabbit insignia to not scare kids. He wore it and lured five children into the storage room of his tavern and he murdered them in cold blood. After the work was done he stuffed their bodies into the armor and using his knowledge of Necromancy, he resurrected their souls inside the armor, since he still controlled the armor, Aftonson could control their movements but the childrens’ souls would make them truly look alive, he didn’t care if it cost a few lives, he saw it as justice for Henry’s death even if it was by his own hands. After a few weeks of testing and decorating of the armor, Clan Fazbearington made their debut at the newly rebranded Clan Fazbearington’s Family Tavern. They were an instant hit, the bear inspired Sir Frederick Fazbearington regaled tales from his knighthood and would sing with the rest of his clan. The Bunny Bard Bonneth would play lively on his fiddle and tell jokes at the Clan’s expense to the crowd that watched, the chicken inspired Lady Chica with her large appetite would be the object of the Clan’s affection, with everyone trying to get her hand in marriage, accompanying her would be her Raccoon Friend, Cupcake, a mischievous scamp who Lady Chica would send upon the other Clan Members if she wanted to play a trick on them, though in reality, he was just a raccoon William found rooting through his trash and he killed, he figured he could also use it as a performer, so he resurrected its soul, slapped a pink bow on it and forced it to perform with Chica, and lastly, the cunning Captain Fox IV, a pirate who had gained the respect of the Clan, he was a loud mouthed fox who enjoyed taking the spotlight from the rest of the Clan to talk about himself. Now if you’re thinking “Wait, didn’t William Aftonson kill five children?” You’d be correct, there was a fifth living armor and it was actually the first one he created, a bronze bear to match William’s own Bronze Bunny Armor, but when he resurrected the spirit inside the armor, it was angry and vengeful, it lunged at William and tried to kill him, luckily he cast a sleep spell on it and he sealed it underneath the tavern, never to be seen again. The Tavern would experience large success but the night William killed those kids woke something inside him, he enjoyed killing those children, watching the life drain from their eyes gave him a satisfaction he hadn’t felt since Henry was alive, so he continued killing children, at times he’d lure up to five children per night under the guise of his Bunny Armor, he’d kill them and dispose of their bodies behind in the dumpster behind the tavern. After so many sightings of his Bunny Armor, he eventually got requests to perform on stage, though William knew had didn’t have a musical bone in his body so he came up with the genius idea of animating his armor as he wore it, using his own soul as fuel for the armor so it would dance, sing, and perform around him, it would give the illusion of a performance but he’d be the one on stage, it was genius, so he started work right away. That night after the tavern was closed and the armors were asleep, he’d put on his armor and cast a spell on it to animate it to life, but something went horribly wrong, at what seemed like random chance because he had performed the spell successfully so many times before, the armor started contorting in impossible positions, his arms rotating multiple times over, his joints bending backwards, his spine mangling as the armor moved without his consent, but somehow, not dying, his unholy and wretched screams drew the attention of Clan Fazbearington, Frederick, Bonneth, Chica, and Fox all gathered to watch their killer’s slow and painful torture, the screams even gave the bronze bear armor the strength to break his seal and join the viewing of his torture, after a few minutes of watching, Aftonson passed out, unconscious but still living, Clan Fazbearington left the storage room and locked it up so he could never escape, they returned to their show positions since they had no other purpose in life, even the bronze bear willingly returned to being sealed beneath the tavern. The next morning, people gathered by the hundred but the doors never opened, people gathered day after day but the doors stayed shut, eventually the name Clan Fazbearington fell to obscurity as the next big trends in entertainment came in an out of fashion, but to many, the name Clan Fazbearington still brings happy memories of singing animal themed armors and cheap food, but now the building serves as an empty husk of what it once was, though it’s a hot spot for Urban Explorers nobody has ever been seen leaving the building, and nobody is stupid to investigate it. Though legend has it, if you stand close enough to the building and stay quiet enough, you can hear the fiddle playing and the vocalizations of Clan Fazbearington playing their signature song, The Toreador March.
