Hi everyone,
I just joined this page. The other day I discovered Audiobooks on Spotify premium and came across the Adult Daughters with Narcissistic Mothers book and figured I’d take a listen. I’ve always had the suspicion there was something off about my mom, like she had Borderline Personality Disorder or something similar. After a few years in therapy my therapist suggested she might have narcissistic tendencies. But you know it’s one thing to speculate. It just never felt real.
Then I started listening to the audio book.. I didn’t even get past the forward and introduction without crying (probably didn’t help that I started it on Mother’s Day). But I resonated a lot with what was said/written. And I think I’m finally okay with putting a name to what’s wrong with my mom. In a way it solidifies everything that she’s done and it makes it more real.. which is hard because I’d rather just pretend she wasn’t really that bad and I was just overreacting or overly sensitive about a lot of it like I’ve been told.
I’ve also had a lot of complex emotions coming with this “diagnosis” (not sure what else to call it but I know it’s not a clinical diagnosis).. for example, I feel bad for being mad at her because it’s not her fault she ended up like this, there’s things she didn’t get as a child that formed her into the person she is today. At the same time I’m also mad because how can she think everything is normal and never attempt to seek help. I’m also confused with myself as sometimes I wonder if I am like her in a lot of way and does that make me a narcissist. I know it’s a lot to unpack with a licensed professional and not to unload on to people online, so I’m not looking for advice or anything in this aspect.
Just wanted to vent a bit about my coming to terms. I look forward to being apart of this page and see how many stories we can all relate to. Thanks for reading.

Surprisingly fun for my taste. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, but I don't think it's the best either. There are definitely strange things and deus ex machinas, in addition to the fact that I feel that a few more chapters to seasons 1 and 2 would not have hurt it so that it wouldn't feel so rushed. The art style is... well, there's not much to highlight either. Except for the fact that there are times that more fluid animation (see the first kiss between Amity and Luz if I'm not mistaken) would have given it a better touch, but that fluidity makes it feel weird when it happens. The d ecolers palette is very good, good shades and consistency. The inclusion is well done! (miraculously, somehow) It doesn't interfere annoyingly in the plot and neither does it highlight it as if it were the center of the story. The detail that Luz's mother is Latina seems very well done to me. As an Argentinian, I recognize that the accent is more Colombian (in Argentina there are many immigrants from all over the world and countries) and it is curious but fun how it sounds. By God the characters are very good! My favorite is Edalyn, but King and Lilith are not far behind. The protagonists are competent and well written and the villain. By god the villain! very well written and designed, those colors, the voice, the mask are all very good. I wish the background had been explored in the series. Nor should we forget the lore of history. The corpses of titans are the islands (I didn't expect that revelation that King is one) and all the species that inhabit the islands are some more boring than others, but there isn't much to expect either. I almost forgot! The collector is... interesting. I'm not saying it's bad, but there are a few things that don't bother me, for example, that he is a child, although the way they treat the character means that it does not affect much. The few references there are are fun (see the games that Luz has installed on her computer, hollow knight and Hades) and others that I don't understand (it's a reference to amphibia, a series that I'm not going to watch even if my life depends on it). I think the soundtrack is what is weakest. It's decent, bordering on meh. The opening and ending are the only notable thing, but nothing very remarkable. Last (but not least) the duration. The chapters are the perfect length, neither too long nor too short. But I feel that the series lacked chapters to increase the development of the characters, so that it didn't feel rushed or short, because there are things that feel... forced? I don't know if there is a term for that in English. There are things that are not explored or that feel forced to move the plot forward. Now, I know that there are some comics that explore the future of the series, (I only found out about things published here) but it seems to me that they should make one more series exploring that life, for those who don't want or don't have access to comics. What would be the conflict? I don't know and I don't care much either, plus I doubt they'll do anything about how Disney is currently, if you know what I mean. Life changing treatment
Hi everyone,
I have been lurking on this sub for a while, I am someone who has suffered with PMDD for 9 years now. It has got progressively worse and my heart goes out to all of you on this Sub who suffer with this condition.
In the UK at least, it's only just been properly recognised and seems to be so misunderstood. Thanks to this sub I tired Antihistamines which helped quite a lot and at least took the edge off.
However, I recently found a treatment which has halted PMDD in its tracks completely so I had to share it here. It's been that life changing and effective I couldn't not share it with you.

He is a specialist on PMDD and woman's health. The long story short is that he prescribed my partner on HRT using the Minerva coil and Oestrogen gel. It took 4 weeks to settle, but now I am bang in the middle of my luteal phase and have 0 symptoms and have sobbed with happiness for days now.
I have tried EVERYTHING before this, anti depressants included.
Please I beg anyone who's finding their treatment ineffective to speak with him if you are able.

I know it was your first relationship. At 28, you had already been through so much, having been on your own for 13 years. You were forced to grow up too fast, and had to prioritize yourself, building a life from nothing. I get it. It was your fierce independence that made me fall for you in the first place.
I always knew that trying to build a life with you was going to be a struggle. I thought it would be worth it, for both of us. You deserve to have someone in your corner, that always has your back. You shouldn’t have to be alone. I don’t know if you believed the same.
I think I gave up too much of myself for you. Was that my mistake or yours? Did you really ask for too much, or did I give too freely without expectation for anything in return? Maybe both. Probably more on me. I’m not perfect by a long shot.
Compromise. It really does all come down to that. I tried to show you its importance, but in the process I ended up being the only one willing to do it. Me getting to pick what movie we watched or getting to plan a date became something I only got to do on special occasions. You said you felt like you didn’t know me, but so many times in so many ways I offered up little pieces of me to you. I share myself by sharing the things I love with the people I love. But more and more towards the end, all you’d say was “no”. Ignoring any context. Ignoring those pieces of me.
I know you don’t like movies about kids. I know asking to watch Home Alone during Christmas was a big ask. But it was a tradition that I shared with my dad, who I lost just over a year before. I know you think that traditions are pointless, but it was important to me. My earliest memories are of that. I needed to continue on, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it alone. I needed you there, your support. It was such a small gesture I was asking of you, but all I got was “no”. Instead we watched a movie you picked: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. A movie made by the exact same people that made Home Alone, and with even more kids.
We wanted to go to Ireland. Personally I’ve been wanting to go for years, but couldn’t because of my dad’s illness along with everything else going on. You knew that in the last 3 years I lost all of my grandparents, two uncles, my dad. I couldn’t risk going so far away for so long while everyone was sick. My mom saw me giving up the latter half of my 20s for my family, when she was hoping I would be enjoying life and seeing the world. That’s why she was happy to give us the money to have the trip of our dreams. I explained all of this to you while you were struggling to find a way to save for the trip. All my mom wanted in return was a single nice photo of us. That wasn’t even a requirement for the money. She just wanted to see me with the person that I love making our dreams come true. I know you hate having your picture taken. The only attention your dad ever gave you was when he wanted to test a new camera. It’s a trauma trigger. But I was only asking for one picture. You’d compromise for your friends, you’d compromise for your sister. You’d take pictures with them. Why wouldn’t you compromise for your partner, and the other most important person in your partners life? After a year, we have 3 pictures together, none of which are very good. I know that I was asking for a lot, but I felt so less important than everyone else in your life. Maybe you felt that as your partner, I was to be held to a higher standard? I honestly don’t know. All you said was “no”.
You admitted yourself I was so supportive. I always prioritized you. From always making your tea before mine, to giving you the better looking plate at dinner, to planting all of your favorite flowers in my garden. I always complemented you, how smart you are, how beautiful you are, how driven and independent you are. Your friend needed a ride to a 5k and someone to cheer them on? I was there. You needed someone to drive you around while your car was in the shop for 2 months? No problem. Accidentally overdrew your account again, and you couldn’t afford the late fees? Here’s $50. Need to move on short notice? I’m the guy tearing apart and moving your furniture. You have a migraine so bad you can’t eat? I’m bringing you pedialyte and sleeping on your couch, even though I didn’t actually get any sleep. I learned all your rituals so not to trigger your OCD. There are countless other examples. I never said no. I never complained. You rarely said so much as “thank you”.
The big one. The thing that ended us. You’re right, we did sit down like adults time and time again and talked things out. You said you needed me to anticipate your needs. You’d get overwhelmed, and couldn’t articulate what you needed from me. You couldn’t stand being asked what you needed. You just needed me to start helping. “Mental loads” and all that. I took that to heart. But I’m not perfect. Sometimes I’d miss the mark. Tried to support you, but in the wrong way. Even in my failures I showed effort, but you never seemed to see that. You only focused on how I failed.
We recognized that this was a problem caused by both of us. The communication wasn’t getting through. But I had already adapted to your communication style as much as I could. My exited, rambling, almost impulsive way of generating ideas became slow, methodical, thoughtful. I put intention behind everything so not to overwhelm you. I learned not to jump at the obvious solution.
Yes, we sat down like adults and talked things over time and time again. You told me what you needed from me, but I also told you what I needed from you. If I was missing the mark, please just guide me to what you needed. I’m not a mind reader. I did it for you all the time. You were honestly awful at anticipating my needs too. If I was venting, had a bad day, all you’d say was “I’m sorry”, and pat me on the back like a puppy. No effort to dig deeper. No words of support or encouragement. So I had to show you how I needed support. I just needed you to do the same for me. “No”. Again.
One final time, I sent you words of support when you were having a bad day. It wasn’t enough, you wanted more. A phone call? For me to come over so you could vent in person? Did you actually want me to directly help for once? I don’t know. You never told me. Instead of guiding me to what you needed, you immediately shut down. Full silent treatment. I’ve been in abusive relationships where the silent treatment was welded as a weapon. I know you didn’t mean it in an abusive way, you were just overwhelmed again. But I never expected it from you. I didn’t see it for what it was. I only ever asked one thing from you to save us. I put in the work, got us 80% of the way there. I knew I couldn’t bridge the gap on my own. I wasn’t even asking you to put in effort on my behalf, it was for your benefit. I begged you time and time again for help. To communicate. Not to put it all on me, because I couldn’t do it on my own. But instead, you did the opposite.
You said that you felt like you were putting more effort into the relationship than I was. I’m sorry, but I can’t see that effort. I’m trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, but I can’t. Maybe you mean you put effort into forgiving me every time I messed up? Maybe you mean that you were always planning dates, always picking what we watched, where we went, what we ate, what we drank? Again, mental loads and such. But I had things that I wanted to do and share with you that you always turned down. You only had to plan everything after my plans were rejected. It would have been more efficient for you to show love, patience, and compromise.
And then you left.

Hello, I'm in search of a good book about uprisings and revolutions, social issues lower vs upper class, different perspectives.
It can be fiction/ historical/ maybe sci-fi. I don't particularly like a lot of fantasy, but if it's well written i can give it a chance. Would love a recommendation from around the world. (maybe a good book from and Taiwanese author etc.) Also some more underground works are welcome. Honestly Don't even have to be a full book, can be short stories, clever poetry.. other. Anything will be appreciated.
Just feel like i need some inspiration, perspective, guidance. Craving something to think about, something to talk about.

Long story short, our Aussie has a chicken allergy, and was itching when her “chicken free” food had byproduct. She was itching for way too long, and when I gave her her weekly deep brush, I found fleas. Immediately stripped every room, got flea shampoo, flea combs, pet spray, furniture spray, collars the works. Vacuumed and carpet cleaned with flea killing solution, and spent 2 hours pulling fleas off the pets.
This morning I woke up and immediately pulled two fleas off my legs. How do I get rid of this. I can’t find any more fleas on any of our pets, and everything has been doused in a flea killer solution. Help me please!

I'm looking to update my CV with some fancy words, more specifically my current job title. What I was told to put in my work email signature was Customer service representative, but that sounds very basic and not at all what I want on my resume. In short, I work for a company that only sells their products to distributors (B2B) so I mainly deal with orders and questions from the same distributors in a particular area. A normal day in my role means I WFH answering the phone and emails (like a CS rep would) but I also run reports to manage things like blocked invoices/deliveries to make sure everything runs smoothly, coordinate large value orders, communicate with different departments like planners and shipping and when it occurs I help coordinate warranty cases for example. Could I call it B2B Key Account Manager? Or would I have to be more involved in the pre-sales side? I don't want to "lie" on my CV, just embelish it as they say...

Hey, so i bought 2k24 and idk if its woth to play the my rise bc last time a tried in 22 and it was bad, So the question is, my rise is the same? What can you do in that game, its like a complete 1 story that you can playthrough and thats it, for example in 22 my buddy just got a contract to nxt while i was in Smackdown, and his first match was a non televisiones one, and if he wins he can get the contract, he said that he expect that im gonna go easy on him, but i said that im gonna do my best and im not gonna go easy on him just bc he is my friend, so the match started and ofc i wanted him to win, so after 10 minutes of wrestling he finally did his signatures on me and i let him win...and the game said that i was supposed to win so the match restarted...do you see the problem? Excatly there is 1 story that i can just play and i cant change anything...so the replayability is ZERO, so the new 2k24 my rise is the same?

I've had enough of feeling sorry for myself, and am open to any and all methods to lose weight and keep it off.

Male - early 20s - 165cm (5'5") - currently weighing in at 83kg (182lbs)

Long story short, For years i haven't been happy with how i've felt and looked. Due to my rather short/stubby nature, Weight gain makes me look like a blob....
It's gotten to the point where i'm embarrassed to go out without a jumpejacket on to try and hide what i've become, even in the heat...
I used to have an active career, so although i wasn't exactly the healthiest, I always maintained a very similar weight of around 75-78 kg. However, since i've now left that, I have had a drastic change in lifestyle, unfortunately, mostly sedentary. Leading to said weight gain.
As i said, I've had enough. I hate the way i look and it's just fueling the fire that is mental health.
I currently don't eat all to much anyway, as i never have an appetite. However, when i do eat, it usually cheap/easy food, thus, not healthy. Alongside this my sleeping pattern is a disaster.
I do however, drink almost exclusively water, going through ~3.5L a day.
I'm aware of what needs to be done, and some ways to implement it, however, i always fail at sticking to it. and then the cycle of feeling sorry for myself starts again....
I am trying to change, and i'm aware a lot of it is the mental side.

Hi, it's my first time posting here sorry in advance for grammatical error. I would like to take advices from what's happening. My cousin kasi is a very negative thinker, no matter anong sabihin mong papuri she'll still be insecure of her self. She's pretty yes pero she think she is not, mabilis siyang sumuko and sobrang iksi ng pasensya niya. In short she's a very negative person with her self.
So one time umuwi ako sa province namin for week, pagbalik ko ng manila, i just saw her wrist with two slash(tama ba term ko lol) tapos di niya sinasabi what's the reason so nagpalipas muna ako ng days and after that sinabi niya na ang reason niya for paglalaslas is wala daw siyang maayos na naisagot sa defense. So, as for me, i know that kind of feeling kasi I've been there too, the difference is I know how to handle my thr negative things that have impact on my health.
Sorry back to the story, since she also told me that wala din kasi siyang makausap nung time na umuwi ako, she's alone enduring that negative impact so di ko tinuloy ang lumipat ng bahay for her sake, to tell me, for me to help. Lately, I've been putting sebo de macho on my scars and gusto niya na daw matanggal yung scar that the pain made her and i noticed nadagdagan yung scar na yon sa wrist niya and i ask her why, this time di niya na talaga sinabi. I cried secretly because i felt so useless, i mean, i stayed for her sake kasi wala siyang makakausap pero di niya rin pala sasabihin? Ako lang kaclose niya sa bahay and di siya nag open up. I told her that if madagdagan pa yung ginagawa niya isusumbong ko siya kay tito. Days ko siyang di pinansin and we unfollowed each other on both socmeds we are mutuals, only messenger lang kami may contact. Okay na kami ngayon, nagbibiruan pero we are not the same as before kasi i feel like mas linalayo niya pa sarili niya which hurts me kasi ako nalang meron siya to open up, never siya nag open sa mga friends and boyfriend niya.
Now i felt like the gap, is being bigger and bigger between us. I stopped pestering her about telling me her problems kasi i have to handle mine as well but i still care and worried she might do the worse that could happen. So what should i do?

To give some context, last night I had a ranked match on Broken moon where I was the last alive on my team. I was playing Octane, got my teammates’ banners and ran to respawn. I realised I was getting chased by another Octane. He was so close I decided the best option would be to turn and face for a one v one. We did some damage but I noticed his teammates just coming round the corner. Without any time to heal, I had to run between all 3 of them, and somehow survived.
Cutting a long story short, I proceeded to get chased by that team for a solid 4 mins at least across half the map and inevitably getting taken out by them. When I tell you, I even ran through teams, threw nades, circled back, and hid to get them off my back, they somehow kept finding me and were constantly within a few metres of me. I even used the red jump pad boost technique (Sigma jump or whatever it’s called). I even stimmed till approx. 40hp which I never do and the whole team which consisted of 2 none-movement legends were able to keep up (opponent Octane was understandable).
Of course they ended up throwing theirs game and dying to another team right after getting me but it was still frustrating. Is there any tips that Octane mains or anyone has that could be helpful when being chased.
TLDR: Got chased by team across map and asking if there are any tips for better escapability.

Hey, so i've posted about my pregnancy scare for a while now, long story short, i have irregular periods, had intercourse on the 4th of april, took a morning after on the same day, then took 3 bc out of anxiety on the 6th of april, took a pregnancy test on the 1st of may or the last day of april, and haven't done anything since. I don't check flo but record things cuz like i said my period is irregular, but since yesterday i've been getting brown discharge. Which is normal usually during the first day of my period so I was really happy, thought i was getting my period. However, today, there is still no bleeding, it's just really dark brown discharge, and just a bit more than yesterday. Usually second day is my heaviest flow, so now im even more worried. I don't know, im also really stressed bcuz its final season and i can't deal with this anymore. Ill take a test tomorrow but is this normal?? Please i'm so tired and i really just want an answer and i'm just getting symptoms that relate to pregnancy
