My partner is a teacher.
Actually, she’s a damn good teacher, and every year on Teacher Appreciation Week we get loaded down with gifts. Which is great!! And first of all, I want to say that any gift — or even a sweet card or note if you can’t afford a gift, she would never in a million years judge someone or EVER want a parent to be stressed by how much money they spent (please, buy your kid food first) — is more than okay, and to be clear she would never ever come home and shit talk anyone who buys her a present lol.
But I know a lot of parents don’t know what to get their kid’s teacher, so:

I know what you’re thinking — that’s rude, right? It delegitimizes the profession and makes you look like you didn’t care enough to buy an actual present.

Every year, we have to choose which mugs to throw out, because we literally don’t have space for even one more mug. We also throw out about 15-20 pounds of chocolate and cookies every year because even if we were somehow able to eat all the sweets she takes home we’d each weigh 300 pounds.

Hey all,
I recetnly just graduated. I applied for OPT back in late February and my request start date is early June. My OPT has not been approved yet. Yesterday, I have a friend who asked me if I am interested in doing a freelance gig that is related to my major and will be starting later this week. I told him I don't have my EAD yet, and he said I could do the work first (the work will take around a week), and once my OPT is approved and received my EAD card, I could then file the W9 and the invoice. I have not taken the job yet, as it feels like it will violate my F1 status.
However, I am wondering if I do this, will USCIC be able to catch it when I file for tax return? Will my 1099 show that I started work back in May, or will it only show the date that the payment was issued to me (so I will be filing the invoice and W9 after I receive my EAD card, which I prob wont get it until early June).

A month ago I innocently parked in a parking structure for a doctor appointment. After the visit, the office validated my parking ticket so it would only cost $5, and I was on my way. When I went to pay before leaving, the validation didn't work. I returned to the office, and they directed me to go to the exit gates, and press the help button to get it sorted out. No big deal.
I get in my car, get to the exit gate, and get on the shitty intercom with parking support. Surprise, they can't do anything about the validation, best they can do is make a new digital parking session for me, I'd pay the minimum parking fee of $10, and then it's on me to get reimbursed from the parking garage customer support. Sounds ridiculous, but I'm not going to sit there and argue, I just want to go home. They text me the digital ticket, I pay it from my phone (plus an extra $0.99 service fee just for kicks), and I'm home free.
Over the next couple weeks, I play phone tag with customer service trying to get my $5.99 refund. And by phone tag I mean getting transferred around, told I'll receive a call back, and then inevitably calling in again because no one contacted me. Finally I got an email I could contact and wrote a nicely summarized message of my issue and why I was looking for a refund.
Today, now one month after the fact, I finally received a response from support. Their response was effectively "We found this receipt of you paying $5.25 for your ticket at the pay box, so I'm not sure why you are looking for a refund." I took a look at the receipt they attached which was for a transaction with different entrance and exit times from the garage, a different date all together, a different vendor validating the ticket, a different cost, and a different last four digits of the credit card I had used. Not to mention the fact that I didn't even pay for my actual ticket.
So now here I am, mildly infuriated that I have to be petty and fight customer support a month later to give me back my $5.99.

Bought the s23fe online yesterday and on the place order screen it showed the total being $93 and some change. $49.99 for bringing a number plus $40 plan. After the order went through I get an email saying that I was now being charged a total of around $680. Somehow the $550 discount fell off and no one I've been able to talk to can figure it out. So now I have two transactions on my credit card for over $680. One for the original $93 and then another for $588. Beyond frustrated right now.

BLOODWORK/PAYMENT: I was picked up at 8AM on Thursday, May 09 for my bloodwork and payment appointments. I received instructions not to take any pain medications or drink alcohol within 24 hours of my bloodwork and to fast eight hours beforehand. I arrived at the Clinic and was taken to the third floor where I underwent a typical triage exam by a nurse. Today I upgraded my RAM fom 16 to 32GB and also installed a new fan. To upgrade I had to remove both cpu cooler and my graphics card. Now I have split second lags and the pc is acting wierd. Sometimes the task manager opens instantly and other times only after a few minutes. As I shut down my pc I am stuck in the shut down screen for at least 5 min now.
Any help would be great. Maybe I did not correctly connect one of the Components? The Task manager correctly shows all Components.

We operate two Cisco ASR 9010s, each equipped with two A9K-RSP440-SE 440G route switch processors and multiple A9K-8T-L line cards. Our systems are currently running on Cisco IOS XR version 5.3.3 (i know... it's old... but i don't have access to the firmware..........)
Historically, we've handled full IPv4 routes from three providers without any issues. However, upon attempting to turn up an IPv6 session with AS2914 last night, the CPU utilization on the ASR skyrocketed to 100% and the devices became completely unresponsive. It then came back online for about 7 minutes, then went back down again, then came back up again - at which time we reversed the config and things resolved.
Our configuration is set to l3 mode, rather than l3xl, which I suspect might be contributing to the problem.
Has anyone encountered a similar issue, or does anyone have insights or recommendations on how to address this? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
** Correction: The CPU Utilization on the line cards (A9K-8T-L) n the ASR is what hit ~100% and caused the router to be unresponsive. The CPU on the RSP's hit ~25%

I just had a run in with a groomer for my dog. My dog is still a puppy being about 7 months old and for the most part is well behaved but still acts like a puppy in a sense. Before I get into it, she is super friendly, loves showers/baths, and can be touched all over by anyone with 0 aggressive responses. She loves her vet and is always excited to get in the car and go places.
Now here is where it takes a turn, I hired out for a mobile grooming service and the first time was an okay job. The groomer didn’t do exactly what we wanted but went with it. The second time there was a miscommunication and my dog didn’t get groomed properly so had to have them out a second time and it went well.
The most recent experience: I hired the groomer to come out and service my dog. I had my wife take care of things and within 15 minutes the groomer said the dog was not able to be groomed at the moment due to nervousness/ skittish. Completely understandable, it happens. Now here’s what I don’t understand, their policy stated if the customer cancels or no shows it is a full grooming/ services provided fee. Completely agree with this. However, out of the blue with no mention in contract or anywhere it became a minimum fee of 65$ and they tacked on another 10$ for a bs reason. This is with a groomer cancellation, not mine. The owner ended up telling me they are changing the contract to a 65$ min after I called her out.
The only service that was completed was a nail trim. And they did coerce my wife into paying it. I came home wanting to go for a run with my dog and no real grooming was done. I paid all that money and then I reviewed the receipt. They tacked on a bunch of bogus charges for services they did not do. I contacted the owner and she went on to say that all the services were done. I sent picture proof in of the services that were not completed and they refused a refund. I went to my bank and asked to dispute the charge “services not provided” and the owner charged my card again saying they need their money. Spoke with the owner and the owner even admitted that not all services are done but charged me nonetheless. Be careful who you choose to groom your dog, has anyone else had an experience like this?
Edit: I did a half charge back to pay for the service they did provide. Which the owner immediately billed to me again(over billed).

I have been looking to book a few places in Tokyo for an upcoming trip, and some of them are only available through Savor Japan. My understanding is that they will take care of the booking by calling the restaurant, and they require credit card details to charge cancellation fees in case of a no-show. Birth and early childhood
There are approximately 400.000 human births every single day on this planet. These newcomers typically follow a well-trodden path, adapting to their new surroundings, learning the language and customs from their parents, relatives, friends, etc… and thus becoming part of the family’s and community’s tradition. It is very rare that we hear about the birth of a child which introduces itself at its very birth event as being different and henceforth changes its community rather than the other way around.

Part 1. Birth - His first message to all the world
It is Tuesday June 13th 1978 roughly 7pm local time, Mauritius Island, Rose-Hill, where one of the approx 350.000 birth giving human mothers on that day, worldwide, is about to giving birth to her child in a local hospital. The sun has already set properly, meaning, it is fully dark outside.
The doctor is busy with the necessities of the birthing event when suddenly the electric power system of the hospital is failing and the whole hospital is covered in darkness. And so is the birth room. Put yourself into the shoes of this doctor and maybe the mother, who actually might not care as much as she is in the grip of labor and the captivating force of birth giving itself, which is its very own unique space of reality. The doctor however experiences himself being taken by sudden surprise at the least. - It is at that very moment that the child is coming into this world, flooding and filling this whole room with bright, illuminating light making the doctor assume that the sun was rising!! Indeed!! A SUN is born, showing the limitation and fragility of all artificial light whereas he is bringing his own light that illumines all darkness.
This is the child’s very first message to this world, in its very first moment of its mission of Light and eternal LOVE. “I am bringing you the eternal, unfading and unlimited LIGHT that cuts through all darkness, eternally dispelling it. I am this LIGHT!
May those who have eyes see. May those who have ears hear! I am the Light that dispels all darkness. I am the dispeller of darkness.
This very first announcement and demonstration is his ID-Card. GU - RU. GU stands for darkness. RU stands for light. Thus it traditionally translates to “From darkness to LIGHT” or, The dispeller of darkness. Guru.
