Hi, I’m planning to buy an entry level bow for hunting ( mid to „big” game ). I’m currently hunting for birds, rabbits with an air gun but I feel like archery is way more interesting platform.
I was thinking about buying a compound bow but as I could see a „good” compound starts at around +500$. On the other hand there are recurve bows which are way less expensive in terms of buying a good bow. My budget is around 200$ and I was thinking about Samick Sage as a recurve and Sanlida Dragon X8 as a compound.
What should I do then? Can someone recommend me something? Something better, more worth it?

Hey all. I've been playing Helldivers 2 for about a month now and must say it's fantastic. I'm brand new to the sub and felt like sharing some thoughts so here goes! Feel free to agree or disagree with anything as I'd love to hear what anyone has to say.
Let's get the obvious hot topic out of the way first. The new Warbond! A little lack-luster to be sure but not worthless. I think the new booster is almost a must-have for high diffi bug missions and incendiary impacts are nice! Although I don't understand how they really leave room for the traditional incendiary grenades to have a place in any loadout.
As for the guns the Pummeler is the clear W here. The stunlocking feels fantastic especially when you have friendly divers playing around you. The other new primaries and secondary seem to lack an identity amongst already established choices so hopefully they get some work done to them. (This has actually made me wonder if Palestedt's earlier ask for delaying the warbond may have been a sneaky hope that we would give them some more time to work it out, but I don't know why he wouldn't just ask directly then given the circumstances.)
Lastly on the warbond, armors. And I wanted to talk about them last in order to segue into armor in general as a topic. Not much going on in the warbond. All armors have perk and value combos we already have access to. New looks are nice but what we really want are new traits or trait combos we aren't used to, which brings me to armor in general.
I can respect the idea that armor is less used as an impactful choice and more along the lines of a playstyle selection. I wouldn't say this is a problem and in fact might be exactly what Arrowhead is going for, however it seems like it would be cool to shake some of these perks up a bit. Servo-assist + Arc resist? Explosive resist + Extra stims? Recoil reduce + Reduced Detection? Ok that last one might be too good but you get the idea. The fact that we are already starting to pile armors that have the exact same function makes me wonder if we should just have 1 shown in our list with a pullout menu to select what style we want it in. Maybe something for the future to decrease clutter. Also on the topic of NEW perks why don't we have a fire resist armor yet? I'd almost consider it solely on the issue of I still get insta-melted by flame hulks fairly often. But aside from that it would be a pick that allows more aggression when running flamethrower and might even be worthwhile to run on planets with fire tornadoes.
So let's get to talking weapons a little. Obviously in a PVE setting, fun is paramount. Even if a gun is powerful, if it's a painful slog to use it, it isn't fun. A gun can also feel good, but be functionally useless, and this also isn't fun. Creating a diverse armory of weapons with different functions and making all of them useful and interesting in their own way is hard. You never want content that is so bad that nobody uses it. But creating weapons so powerful that you're sandbagging merely by picking anything else is a problem as well. One of the boons that Helldivers 2 has to it's name is how the factions differ from eachother and how they demand different loadouts. For example, I love where the new Blitzer is. It's a powerful choice for bug squashing, but will leave you wondering how you can possibly close distance against bots. I think this kind of balance is great and not every weapon need be effective in every scenario. But I also love the Sickle, and have no issue taking it to either bugs or bots. It's shortcomings become clear against large targets. With all of this in mind, it makes me more excited for the introduction of a new faction, and how many more options the devs will gain for weapon balances within differing scenarios. What loadouts will Illuminate demand? Will under-used loadouts finally see some use planetside? I'm not going to really talk about the eruptoquasar changes or how I feel about them since I'm sure everyone is exhausted with that. I was never an eruptor fan anyway being a gigachad autocannon enjoyer. My primary is usually a small target clearing tool. I will say on the topic of the Slugger, I really only think they slightly over-nerfed it. I took it out just the other day and was surprised at how useful it still really is which goes to show just how immensely powerful it was pre-nerf. Maybe pulling it up just a little will make it a good choice on the bot front again. Aside from the newer weapons I have to say I actually think Arrowhead has done fairly well here. I see lots of varying weapons on the battlefield as I see divers using all sorts of primaries and supports that they find fun and useful. Also a little side note on the Spear: I think if they manage to make the locking mechanism a bit less wonky, I think it has the potential to be one of the most powerful tertiary picks in the game.
I also wanted to spend a moment with the change to how patrols work. Even as someone who will solo dive from time to time, I actually don't mind it too much because what it means for full 4 person games. With this change, effectively the only things a Helldiver can do wrong, is die or team kill. You are making the mission easier simply by virtue of being on the battlefield. This means that as long as you aren't murdering your fellow divers, (traitors excluded) just staying alive is helpful. Seeing as every diver (not factoring in IRB booster) brings 5 reinforcements to the table, you really aren't dragging down your team at all until you've cost the team MORE than 5 reinforcements. I think this allows for maximum freedom of playstyle around your team and I feel outweighs the downsides of diving without a full squad.
Since I brought up a booster there, let's talk about them a little. They are, well, weird to me. I simply don't see a world where increased reinforcement budget and flexible reinforcement budget are anything but planning for failure, and if you are failing, maybe it's because you brought them. Full ammo (and notably stims) on drop, injury resist, less patrols and bonus stamina are all such good choices it's hard to part with them for anything. The new booster I think is an example of the kind of stuff we need to shake up what's brought on missions more and I hope to see more like it in the future.
Another thing I can think of I'd like to bring up for now is orders. While I think we should always be able to work on whatever front we choose to play on, maybe we should have something available to sweeten the deal a little when doing missions that fall under the major order? Not sure if an exp bonus or anything would do it or be on the table at all but it's a thought. Being someone who enjoys being a part of completing the major orders whenever they are active, this brings me to a minor complaint. If the major order is on the Automaton front, but my PERSONAL order is to get flamethrower kills... I'm not bringing that to fight bots sorry. Maybe this is something that won't or doesn't even need to be changed, but it does bother me a little to be pulled away from the team objective to hold a terminid barbecue on the other side of the galaxy. I suppose there's always just choosing not to do the personal order in a day too. As I said before, this is a very minor gripe.
Stratagems almost all seem good and useable in a variety of situations except I can't for the life of me understand why Eagle Cluster Bomb has more uses than Eagle Strafing Run. Seems like just a straight buff to Strafing Run to have 5 or even 6 uses (adjusted with ship module) per rearm would land it safely in the category of probably still never used unless I could find a way to consistantly kill more than 4-6 light enemies with it.

I’m looking for a new fragrance. I’ve had two “signature scents” in recent years; the first was Juliette Has a Gun NAP, and the most recent is Serge Lutens L’Orpheline. I loved both in different ways. I’m still working through my last bottle of L’Orpheline, and while I love it and I love the way it sits on my skin, it lacks good throw.
Now, I don’t want to knock anyone down, but I want people to notice me when I walk past. The vibes I’m going for are best described as a mixture of femme fatale, dark academia, old money and pretty princess. I want to smell sensual, expensive, and a little bit dangerous.
I’m not a fan of anything overly floral. I’m also not a fan of anything too sweet, but I don’t want to smell “manly” if that makes sense. I plan to order a couple samples from recommendations here and try and find a new favorite before my first international trip next month!
Bonus to more niche/indie perfume houses. I don’t want something you can get from Sephora (though I did enjoy CH Good Girl when I sampled it!) Thanks in advance for the recs!!

Been searching for plans for this for a while now and haven’t seen it in any camps. I have some older stuff, and some plans from Daily Ops and Events, as well as some decent armor and guns.

So I got a cool story idea from the book I read, and here it is. I have it all pretty much figured so just looking for advice!
Title: Sleepover
A high school girls track team has a sleepover party after winning the state championship. The main character is a 15-16 year old girl named Ruby. The party is at her friend Blaine’s house. Suddenly, a girl begins acting strange and drugged, and she disappears. Everyone freaks of course, but can’t get a hold of the authorities because the cell signal has been intercepted and the car stolen. Alone, they try to make a plan and figure out what the heck is going on. More people disappear, romance is sparked, but all the while a subplot brews. Parker, Ruby‘s 18 year old brother, has found himself with the wrong crowd, and is selling illegal drugs and bootleg alcohol to high schoolers. A group of college students from the local university have recruited him as an inside man, basically. They need money to pay off their loans and other debts, and run a drug business and prostitution ring. The story also follows Parker through his rough year and his recruitment. Heath, the leader, along with Parker, are staking out the house, taking the girls and spiking the drinks. He has been threatened with his sisters death if he doesn’t cooperate.
The romance aspect of the story is between Ruby and a girl named Camilla, who has secretly had a crush on Ruby. They comfort each other through the night, and it develops into something more. I imagine this as a side plot, just for fun. I’ve never written a WLW love story though, so I would like tips.
PLOT TWIST:
Coming back from the restroom, Ruby sees her friend, Blaine, being taken. She looks at the attacker, and sees her brother. Devastated, she realised that she told her brother everything when he asked. Where the party was, when, who was coming. She calls everyone in, and they manage to fight him off and he flees. While everyone worries, Ruby runs out of the house to look for Parker. She finds him injured, shot by Heath, and bleeding out on the ground in a nearby alley. She is with him for his final moments, and he tells her everything. Enraged at the situation and mourning her brother, she looks where Parker said and finds Heath, the gang leader. She confronts him and eventually shoots him in the leg with his own gun. Ruby calls the police using his phone, and directs them to Blaine‘s house and Heath‘s hideout. They find most of the captured girls, and arrest the injured Heath. She returns to the house, and reunites with Camilla. However, Blaine was never found. Maybe that’s a story for another day…

I wish I had a happier update but after submitting this I did a public record request for the incident in 2021 and got the police report.
In 2021 my co-parents live in boyfriend broke into the home of an ex girlfriend with a gun. The ex was with her current partner at the time. He proceeded to beat both of them with the gun.
He then racked a round into the chamber and placed it against the head of the ex before beating the man some more. The man wound up have a skull fracture and had to be life flighted to the nearest hospital. The woman had a fractured hand and lacerations on her face.
I talked to my co-parent about this. She told me that in 2021 all that happened was her partner found another man in his bed and beat the man. I showed her the police report showing her what he had actually done and she said she wasn't aware of the gun being involved, of him pointing the gun at them or of the girl also being beat. She also downplayed the domestic violence incidents that had happened between her and the guy. She told me it was actually all her fault and she regrets calling the police.
I asked her, now that she knows these things, if she will be exposing our daughter to this man. And she said yes, because she loved him and knows he would never hurt our daughter.
I met with an attorney to formulate a plan to get my daughter away from this guy. We had a meeting today about it.
And the attorney basically said there is nothing that can be done because everything was dismissed. In the incident in 2021, the man was beat so badly that he sustained brain damage and did not remember the event. The ex later got back with the guy and refused to assist in prosecution. So there was no way to prosecute.
And my co-parents charges against him were all dropped by her. So right now... These count for absolutely nothing and can't be used in court. And because none of the events happened around our daughter yet, they aren't really an issue.
She told me that since we each have 50% custody already, there isn't much to be done. And there is currently nothing I can do to keep this guy away from my daughter.
I basically have to wait until he points a gun at my daughter and my daughter's mom or beats my daughter before I can take any kind of action. And even if he beats mom in front of my daughter, if I report it to CPS and CPS fails to substantiate because my daughter has been coached not to talk about this guy... Then it could make me look bad.
So basically... My daughter is living in an abusive home filled with firearms with a guy that beats her mom and has came just a couple of pounds of trigger pressure away from murdering a previous partner. And now that I'm monitoring this stuff... there's no way mom will call 911 the next time she is in danger.
And there's not a damn thing I can do about it.

21(I think) male (or at least amab) I'm not sure what to write but I wanna post something so I'm just vomiting some thoughts until I post or delete my draft again.
I'm not sure if I'm actually suicidal, or mentally ill at all but I think that's just the illness gaslighting me.
I know that I don't actually wanna die and it's fixable somehow but it feels so unrealistic. It's getting worse for the past few weeks/months and I know that I was happy to be alive before and probably will be when my depressive episode is over.
I know that I won't kill myself but I'm sad about that. a few weeks ago, I had a random wave of motivation so I visited the social worker at my school and got a list of therapists to call and a little script so I know what and how to say it (social anxiety) but I haven't done anything and my motivation is gone again. just asked a friend to call for me, maybe that's getting anywhere.
but I cannot imagine that it helps. right now, on an emotional level, I have no hope that it's getting better.
no hope for therapy, no courage to kill myself, it's a stalemate. I noticed that I care less about the future, so I live more and more like it's my last day and then have to deal with the consequences the next day. i stopped showering, brushing my teeth, eating healthy, i constantly go to bed way too late even tho I'm extremely tired all the time. it's not like I can't sleep, I just refuse to try.
maybe I just try to get more and more miserable until I'm finally able to kill myself.
I'm porn addicted and keep relapsing since my breakup one and a half months ago. I'm a feminist and hate the porn industry but I kinda stopped caring? I don't know if I could stop if I cared more or if I'm just addicted severely enough that I'm actually unable to.
I feel like I'm not allowed to feel this bad. I don't deserve depression, if you know what I mean. I didn't get traumatized (or just don't realize?), I was a social outcast but I have friends now, I don't struggle with money, in fact I am very privileged because my parents have a lot of money.
I do struggle with every day tasks tho (I think I have autism, adhd or both), maybe that's enough to hate being alive?
my original plan was a train, but I don't really wanna traumatize an innocent train conductor so maybe od? but I barely managed to get my hands on weed, I don't think I'm able to acquire lethal medications. also thought about guns, but I wouldn't know where to get those either. I recently read an autopsy report of someone who killed themselves by swallowing sodium hydroxide and it said that they died a few hours after digestion, even tho I'm a chemistry nerd, that sounds a bit too painful for a coward like me.
when I was in middle school, I spend some time on a suicide note but now I'm just tired of living so I don't bother with that, too much effort.
I think that my emotional bond with friends and family is the only thing keeping me alive, but maybe I'd still be too incompetent if I was alone.

im currently looking to buy an aeg, but i want a super snappy trigger. I also don't have the money to dump 1000 bucks on a gun. I heard you can upgrade motors for trigger response. If i got a sub 200 dollar gun with mosfet would an upgraded motor help? Or would it just destroy the gun. My plan was just to get a ssr4 this black friday but ive read things that that gun isnt as good as i thought, though he does have a 25 year warranty. Anybody have thoughts on that gun or the calico jack line/ UTR 45? Or a different gun?

These are things that collected over time that i would like to eventually see, in no particular order.
Lvl 85 / 300ish hours in.
1) emote wheel (with even more emotes)
2) missions for more than 4 players
3) stack of c4 stratagem. 4x on deployment.
If you have none to place- you hold the trigger. Sticks to surfaces and enemies.
4) infiltration objective. Where it's an underground bunker with a sealed door and you need to break in and destroy valuable data inside / kill VIP without orbital help (cause underground)
5) A delivery mission where squad has to deliver the flag (tutorial one) on a vehicle (ideally) into an area outside of destroyer control, place beacons for destroyer that map out the area and then- come back. (Like a setup for the missions we are doing) should kind of feel like old school halo capture the flag
6) random primary weapons to be in the mix on the map to pick up and try out, including warbond ones.
7) ability to drop EVERYTHING. Once had a bug in a helldive where my character dropped without any gear. Was very hectic 4 minutes but very fun where i ran around just with stratagems looking for a dead body to get some guns. (Character worked fine empty handed otherwise. Melee didnt work i guess it used pistol animation)
8) thermal/night vision but i heard theres plans for helmets in the works
9) weapon attachments silencemuzzle break/sights variations/stock (where applicable and i guess tied to weapon use or something) which would modify weapon slightly and nerf it elsewhere depending on attachment for a net neutral change.
10) more voicelines. To be exact- more voicelines representing things we mark. As new things get added and they have names. Marking targets can be wonky when character doesnt call the thing correctly.
Notorious lines/variations of lines missing:
"Need assistance"
"Bunker located" - triggered by marking either of the buttons
"Stalkers spotted" - last noticed marked stalker even if they are about to stealth. Just keep the marker there longer even after it's gone.
"(Factory) strider incoming" - marked strider
Idle chatter when someone spaces out or has to wait a while. This could be a comedy gold mine. Especially if it's a few players together.

I posted about a week ago that I found a CZ 75 P-01 Omega in urban grey. I also have a factory blemish M9A4 Centurion on the way.
My plan is to send the M9A4 to LTT. However, seeing comments about the quality of models made in the USA are giving me a bit of buyers remorse...
With the P01, I am debating sending it to CGW or keeping it stock if I ever decide to flip it. It is worn-in and the single action is very smooth. I'm Not sure if collectors would rather have it OG, though. since it's a discontinued model.
I would love opinions as I'm just dipping my toes back into firearms ...but the banks of the river are slippery...
I would appreciate suggestions for reliable sights and lights. I don't care a ton about brands, just want reliable. I try to watch gundeals and gun.deals as much as possible.
I think I have the suppressors covered. I ordered an Osprey 45 V2 and a Sparrow for my "wife's Bobcat."

THIS STORY IS NOT MINE BUT IT IS SHARED FROM SOMEONE ELSE : Life sometimes has different plans that one can expect, and it really did hit me 15 years ago with the most shocking plot twist for me . Let me just settle y'all ,this happened when i was around 14 or 15 years old, so you can say I was aware of everything. I have a small family of two parents , 2 siblings and my uncle Ted and my grandparents. we used to live in Texas in a big house with my dad's side of the family for most of my life until my grandparents died and we moved to Nebraska. My uncle too (48 y/o at the time ) moved in with us . He and dad are actually twin brothers , they are identical in everything even in their voices. The only way to know which one it is , is that my dad has a big circled birthmark on the middle of his back that can only be seen if he took off his shirt. At first , it was cool to have uncle Ted at the house , he would shower us with attention, paly games with us , give us money and buy us food whenever we wanted . You can say he is the cool uncle type . But soon after , we started to notice that mom and Ted started to argue a lot whenever dad is out . They would curse each other , calling names and fighting for the slightest and stupidest things . They would often bring the money topic and how my mom see that it’s unfair to have my uncle live with us without paying a dime in the bills or pay some rent for us since he is still single and broke. And he would treat her in a bad way , mock her clothes and criticize her body . It was really taken too far so we brought it up to dad who told us to remain distant and to not interfere in these fights . So we did . On November 27th, it was movie night so me and my siblings settled things up ; popcorn , candy and pizza to spend a great night with the family . But as usual, Ted and Mom wouldn't stop fighting even when father was around them . They all went upstairs to discuss this matter and all we got to hear is dad and uncle yelling and mom crying out . I had to increase the volume of the TV so my younger siblings wouldn't pay attention to the fight but I was really worried that something might happen . In an instant , all I heard is a shot gun . My heart fell to the ground . I went upstairs with tears in my eyes , and opened the room's door aggressively. I would never forget these painful feelings and that shocking scene , I found my mom shot , coughing her own blood and both my uncle and dad were holding her , dad was shirtless and Ted was wearing a black shirt . When they got down raking mom to the hospital ,both them was wearing black .The whiel way , Dad was blaming Ted for the incident while the other fought back and claimed he's innocent. That night , we lost our mother in that tragic way . Police later on found a gun with Uncle Ted's fingertips so they assumed with the fact they both argue a lot that Ted killed her on purpose and arrested him to a life sentence in jail . We were devastated , and depressed. How can our uncle kill our mom ? We went to therapy after that and still the wound was too big to be healed so fast . Still we were grateful and fortunate to have our father by our side. UNTIL ,5 Months later , an FBI agent came by and arrested our dad and brought us all to the police station. There we found uncle Ted with his lawyer waiting for us . They police officer came to me and asked gently :" How can you tell which one is your father in a room filled with identical people like him ? " I answered that by the birthmark he got . That's when they forced them both to take off their shirts , the one who was with us this whole time isn't dad but Uncle Ted . The police officer explained that when Ted knew he was going to jail he framed Dad as if it was him and manipulated everyone that all this time the criminal was in jail. The news doesn't stop here , Ted was actually planning for killing our mom for years because they both were very close but mom rejected him because she liked our dad and not him . He also was planning on getting dad arrested and to get him killed there in the prison too and make it look as a suicide. As for us, he didn't want to harm us but he was planning to buy off one of us as a slave to one of the creepy old rich dudes when he get to 18 years old. They ,of course, sent him to jail and booked him few therapy sessions in there too , our dad got out and we moved from the US to Italy for a new life . I know this story really took so much time to tell but seriously, this event changed my whole life . I do believe that there is more shocking plot twists out there and I would like to know them too .
