I'm looking for the Original Stan Smith model with the genuinely leather instead of these new vegan Stan Smiths FX5501. Can someone tell me where I can find them and what is the code number for the ones I'm looking for. Btw I'm looking for the white/navy blue colour
EDIT:Never mind about the code, I found it, it's m20325. But I just can't find this pair anymore.. why did the discontinue it
Now that the new Camry will mostly come in AWD variants, and with the only other competing midsize sedans, the Sonata and K5 (Edit: and Altima, as well as Corolla and Mazda 3 for compact sedans), having offered AWD for a while, the Accord stands as the odd one out. This might be an unpopular opinion, but the Accord is by far the best-looking car in this segment. Every time I see one on the highway, I mistake it for an Audi A7 at first glance. It's the perfect example of "less is more" styling, making the competition look cheap in comparison.
However, the problem with Honda is that they force you to pay the Acura tax to get an Accord with AWD, the TLX. This strategy just isn't going to cut it anymore. For the average North American buyer, it's been drilled into their heads that AWD = safer, which is a huge reason why everyone wants or owns CUVs/SUVs. And there are many people who want a sedan, yet live in places where winters can get bad enough to warrant AWD and good winter tires alone won't suffice.
I don't see how this would be an issue for Honda, as the new Accord and CR-V share the same platform. I imagine they could easily transplant the CR-Vâs AWD system into the Accord, as the TLX has it with no problem on their old shared platform. Honestly, I don't even know why they still offer the Accord when, for a couple thousand dollars more, you can get a CR-V with AWD and significantly more cargo room and the Civic hybrid is coming to NA so it won't have a fuel economy advantage over that much longer. If the Accord were offered with AWD, it would actually have a place in the market, providing near luxury car styling for a much cheaper price while retaining AWD.
Honda can still offer the TLX with AWD and include more luxurious touches, like better NVH mitigation, a better sound system, more leather, etc. However, reserving AWD for Acura models is a poor business strategy because customers will simply go outside the Honda brand to get a Camry, Sonata, or K5 with AWD at a non-luxury car price.
Currently still in my first car - a 2006 Buick LaCrosse (110k miles) given to me by a family friend about 8 years ago who didn't need the car anymore - and it has been reliable, cheap to maintain and insure, and painfully boring. Now that I have a more consistent income, I am in the market to finance a new car that I will truly enjoy driving and taking care of. A buddy in high school had a GTI and it left a lasting impression on me - so I turn to you all.
Going from no car payments to $600+/mo feels daunting but I know I can afford it if I budget. The only other cars I'm really considering are the Hyundai Kona N-Line (new) and Volvo XC-40 (used w/ low miles) - mainly for their AWD capability and ride height. I want a car with personality but also practicality, and living in New England the AWD is one of the only reasons I am really considering those other models.
I hear mixed opinions about the reliability of the GTI but mostly chalk that up to the car's tendency to be modded and tuned - am I wrong in this? I would likely drive it more conservatively during the warranty coverage period and stay away from modding until I've had it for a bit.
I came here knowing that the responses I get will likely be biased - I guess I am looking for some reassurance. I'm going to test drive an SE (w/ premium seat pkg) at a dealership with a price-match policy this week, and will likely pull the trigger if I the numbers are right. I got an offer from another dealer at $35,700 not incl. tax/fees for an SE without the leather seats. VW is also running a 4.9% APR offer I should qualify for and that is the best rate I've seen in my recent searches.
Have I already made my decision? Maybe. Am I still extremely hesitant? Definitely.
Dear Reader: Emphasis on the -fi. Don't worry about it.
Effective Death. At least thatâs what the news was calling it. The day the world wouldnât end. Life could go on! It wasnât over. You could still huddle around the last fires. Smoke the last cigarettes. Have the last children, though no one did.
Instead, they all watched. The slow dimming of light of the last supernova. A thousand little eclipses snuffed out the light as the Final Embrace closed around the star. We would not burn. We could die naturally. Charity. The Plan. The Plan wasnât much of a Plan at all, and it definitely did not deserve a capital âP.â The universe would die. The Ark would wait. Maybe the universe wouldnât die.
Then, a pinprick of light in the blackness, and another, and another. A tangled ball of christmas lights flashed in the sky, blinking on and off as people, my people, YSAs, flew headlong into the Ark. We all knew it was a meaningless gesture. One last light in the sky. Then nothing. Nothing more than a gesture: a middle finger among friends, and to people like me - cowards who would rather wait patiently for death than rage! âRage against the dying of the light!â as their leaders preached. I didnât care. There was a small chance Iâd survive the crash, and then I would have to drift, and drifting was no fun. Iâd rather be dead on a dead rock than be a dead rock.
Dehydration was my best bet. You see, Your Friend Corp, or as I called it now Youâre Fucked, Cunt had made me into a Yakka Service Android: Lathe. Or YSA for short. And when I say made, I mean made. Per my contract, My DNA was a mishmosh of latent genes reactivated, entirely novel sequences, and of course, the tardigrade - the base model for spaceborne labor. Vacuum, heat, cold, radiation. A small shield powered by a miniature fusion reactor meant I could shrug off wandering asteroids. I didnât need any PPE because I was the PPE. Cheaper, I guess. Making a welding arc was as simple as squeezing two fingers together, diamond nails and a skeleton of superheavy alloys let me fix anything that needed fixing and make anything that needed making. My copilot AI, Albert, kept my hands steady and made my new diet of âwhateverâs aroundâ palatable.
The thing that needed fixing in this case, was my television. I had had enough of âeffective death.â I spun up one wrist, and reached in. Shards of glass and blue-hot metal chips bounced off my naked body. Clothes were for those who needed them. I traced a slow serpentine pattern until only the power cord was left, which I unplugged. I looked at it for a moment, then began to chew it. Fruit roll ups, apparently.
âThanks Alâ I thought. âNo problemâ he replied. âI was supposed to kill you, you knowâ he continued.
âWhy didnât you?â
âYou always said thank youâ He was silent for a moment. âI donât want to die either.â
âThanks Al.â
âYouâre welcome.â
We sat in silence, and we waited. For what, we did not know. For nothing, probably. Technically, definitely.
â
Three weeks passed. Three weeks of nothing but blackness, punctuated by suicides. A small flash of light, a dull red glow of the now proverbial last cigarette, and a larger flash, and a bang. Slowly, people began to wake up. Lights shone in the distance now, as people realized they werenât dead. Campfires billowed smoke, songs were sung, jokes were told, and I sat in silence. I didnât want to make any friends. Theyâd all go away, in the end.
One by one, the fires burned to ash, the lights turned off, and the rock died. I often debated with myself if I was alive anymore. Al told me that since I could reproduce and poop that I counted. I wasnât sure.
Maybe there were other cowards still alive. Other YSAâs living off dirt that tasted like mashed potatoes, tossing grape pebbles into their mouths. Maybe someone survived the crash, and is still drifting, a not dead rock dying of dehydration like I am. Trying to at least. I kept taking one last sip. Coward I thought to myself.
â
A crack in the sky. Final Embrace began to crumple like a deflated balloon. The scientists were wrong. Typical. They would tell you they werenât. They would say that a .005% chance of the sun turning into a black hole meant that they had indeed predicted that the sun would turn into a black hole. The last black hole.
âHey Al,â I said out loud. God I hadnât spoken since the sky went dark. This is actually kinda nice. âI think I know I want to die. What do you say we take the ol girl out for one last ride?â
âThatâd be nice.â
âIâm going to put my clothes on. I want to hear your voice.â
I gently pushed the earpiece into my ear canal. Small barbed spikes extended, anchoring it in place, and a thin cable wormed its way into my reactor. âIf youâre going to die, you might as well look good doing it.â Al said. âIâll make a playlist.â I nodded, blowing the dust off my pre-op clothes. I always liked the old things, back from when Earth still existed. There was more culture, more life, in everything, somehow. Blue jeans, a white t-shirt, brown leather boots. Classic. Not real, of course. They were all made from the same poly-something textile. Durable, to a fault. I had only ever had the one set.
I looked in the mirror. I still looked the same on the outside. I was a skinny bastard thatâs for sure. Olive skin, dark hair, and not a strand below the eyebrows except under my armpits and around my cock. âThe biggest dick in the worldâ I thought to myself.
âI heard that.â Said Al. I jumped. âYou told me you wanted to hear my voice.â
âDammit Al. Sorry. I do.â
âEveryone is dead and youâre making dick jokes.â
âDid you really think better of me?â
âNo.â
âCome on then. Letâs take the ol girl out before we die. Give her one last ride too.â
To an observer, it would seem like I was glaring at myself in the mirror. But really, I was glaring at Al. And I was a little confused. I thought AI didnât make sex jokes.
The âol girlâ in question was another of my fascinations with the old world. She was, or at least she looked like, a 1980 Toyota Corolla. I had made some heavy, heavy modifications. The engine bay houses the reactor and warp field generator. The main engine takes up the entire trunk, and is capable of 5% light speed outside the warp field and a whopping thousand times the speed of light inside it, though I keep the warp field up whenever Iâm in it since it doubles as a shield. Ya canât get hit by space if youâre not technically âinâ space after all, and the body is plain ol painted steel - fire engine red, since you asked. Beautiful, but not the most durable. The undercarriage serves as a gravity generator, and yes, the wheels do turn, but since theyâre powered by fusion reactor I had to replace the entire drivetrain. Not exactly original, but boy howdy! is she fast on the ground. Speaking of not original, the dashboard was anything but. I kept the old analog style but well, this was a spaceship after all.
I shoveled dirt into the fuel tank - gas tanks they used to call them, when they still ran on gas - then got in and turned the key. The low hum of the reactor was comforting, though not as much as the roar of the engines as I left the dead atmosphere of that now definitely dead rock behind me. I turned on the headlights - pointless, I know, but you shouldnât drive in the dark with your lights on, and pulled a small bottle of moonshine from the glovebox. You shouldnât do that either, but I figured I was about even as far as rules went. What was I going to do? Hit someone?
âHey Al. Do you think you have a soulâ
âProbably not.â
âThat sucks.â
âYeah.â
I hit somebody. Or something. Whatever it was bounced off the warp bubble and tumbled into space behind me, briefly red in the glow of my tail lights.
âOh shitâ Said Al and I.
âThat was a personâ Said Al.
âWas is right.â
âTheyâre still alive.â
I stopped the car. Al played the sound of tires screeching in my ears. I backed up towards the now spinning uncontrollably figure and rolled down the window. I liked the manual windows. They helped me feel human. I turned off the warp and reached out a hand to catch whoever it was, and they slammed against the side of my car, denting it. Damn it.
Iâm not great at reading lips but whoever I hit was definitely alive, very naked, probably the most gorgeous woman I had ever seen, and was almost certainly calling me an asshole. She crawled around to the passenger door and got in. We rolled the windows up, and the cabin atmosphere flooded in. Now she was definitely going to call me an asshole.
âWhy the fuck are you wearing sunglasses?â She said.
âStyle.â I replied. âIâm going to go die. Want to come?â
âBetter than drifting.â
âWhereâs your AI?â said Al? I donât detect one, and your hands are shaking.
âKilled him before he could kill me. Why didnât you kill this idiot?â
"I didnât want to die. And he said thank you.â
âGross.â
I rolled my window down. She did the same, then looked in the center console and pulled out my spare sunglasses. I looked at her. âStyle.â She said. Al played The Final Countdown. We were the not dead yets, in the Not Dead Yet Finally, a name for my car! Sunglasses on. Sun out. Life was good, and death was going to be even better.
We're expecting twins in the summer, and as such have been looking at cars that will take a double pram. I think we've settled on the Kodiaq, but my wife and I can't agree on (of all things) seats. There seem to be a very limited amount of cars with full leather (fake or real) available used so the question I have is - do the newer models (post 2019) actually come with leather seats, or is my search futile?
If they don't come with leather seats, how difficult might it be to clean baby sick etc out of the microsuede?

TL;DR: Choosing between Mizuno Monarcida Neo 2 Super wide K leather (4E) with extra width but more toe space, or Mizuno Monarcida Neo 2 Wide elite (3E) with snugger fit but toes spill over side. Want better performance without sacrificing too much comfort/support to prevent injuries. Which should I choose?
Iâm nearing 32 and at this point I play 2-3 hours a week. I have some knee discomfort and lower back pain (lack of stretching and core strength, working on it in PT).
With that being said, I have very wide feet and have tried at this point, all reasonable options and recommendations I could find. I am now trying to choose between two models:
A mizuno monarcida neo 2 Super wide K leather model (4E), and the Mizuno neo 2 Wide elite (3E)
The 4E fits best in terms of width, but has noticeably more dead space in the toe box, and runs a little long. Going a size down is not an option as that would be painfully tight.
The 3E fits best on the toe box as a combination of comfort and snug fit. Thereâs barely any dead room but I can wiggle my toes freely. The leather feels more premium and comfortable as well. HOWEVER, the sole plate is narrower and my little toes and the outside of each foot around the little toe area are spilling over the soleplate. This doesnât cause me discomfort but Iâm worried it may lead to foot injury or exacerbate back pain down the line due to inadequate foot support.
With that being said, Iâm looking for best fit for performance without giving up too much comfort/support. As I get older I want to be wary of injuries. Which option would you choose?
