I called Whole Foods about an order and was transferred by mistake to their customer service department that was located in the Philippines.
I didn't ask where the agent was located, I made mention of a recent news article about Whole Foods and then asked if they had any major HQ stores in Seattle and she admitted to not knowing because of her location.
I notice many companies, including ones I've worked for, have outsourced to other countries.
I see a ton of empty Corporate office parks with "for lease signs."
On a different post, an AT&T agent said he works out of the country and the US comparable pay is $14-$17 per hour as a sales call center agent.
Lots of jobs are hybrid.
In Illinois, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, near the major cities, apts average $1,800+ a month, plus utilities. Cars are necessary to get around. Dental care is all out of pocket. Health, vision and prescription plans cost money and people in the 50+ age bracket use scans and specialty doctors.
Not all middle aged adults have spouses, or coshare with other adults. I've always lived independently, and can't qualify for an apt on these wages.

2024.05.15 04:41 emad1911 Error: Start/Stop and check engine light on 2021 GLI

Hello everyone,
I just experienced an issue with my 2021 GLI and wanted to share it here to see if anyone has any ideas about what's going on.
Basically, this morning I drove the car for about 10 minutes without any problems. I parked for around 5 minutes, and when I came back to the car and pressed the power button, it made a clicking noise like it wanted to start, but it didn't. The digital cockpit and lights were fine, but the check engine light came on. I pressed the button again, and the same thing happened. On the third attempt, the car started with a message saying "Error: Start/Stop."
I parked again, turned the car to P, restarted it, and it worked fine.
I went to the VW dealership, which is super close to my house (about 2 minutes away), and told the service representative what happened. She said based on what I described, it sounds like a battery issue, which seemed strange to me. How can the battery go bad without any warning? And if the battery is bad, how did the car start on the third attempt? She mentioned the service center manager suggested there could be other issues, so it's better to make an appointment and have the car tested.
Here's my concern: everything is covered under my warranty except the battery. They told me that because my car has start/stop technology, the battery needs to be programmed, which would cost around $650 CAD.
I'm worried they might make me buy a new battery without addressing the real problem. What if the issue isn't the battery? I've checked online, and people have reported similar issues caused by different problems. If they make me buy a new battery and the problem persists, can I fight it and get a refund? $650 is a lot of money to just say "whatever."
I would really appreciate it if anyone who has experienced the same thing or has any helpful advice could share before I take my car in tomorrow.

Hi all this is a guide for people who have tried to get into this game but didnt end up enjoying it. Here are a few tips that helped me finally get into after about 4-5 tries 1. Set difficulty to easy (still challenging but not enough to put off new players ) 2. make sure your starting class has some sort of ranged offense as one of the first few enemies you encounter are flying enemies and having a melee class with no ranged abilities just makes them completey tedious to battle and can be very off putting. 3. Once you get to gran soren the main hub town go to the inn and your stash and grab the eternal ferry stone ( this unlocks unlimited fast travel back to gran soren) Also the map isnt as big as it seems at first so back tracking and travelling to quests isnt as daunting as it first seems ( its not travellint on a horse for 10 minutes just to get to your destination ) 4. Dont constantly change classes, try to stick to one or two as whatever class you are when you level up contributes to what stats you gain. If you're constantly swapping classes you'll be a jack of all, and master of none. 5. Sell all the outfits in your stash they are all DLC items and of no consequence but get you some decent gold. 6. Swap pawns constantly they do not level up with you and always have a healer. 7. Once you get to gran soren and go to the pawns guild you get a quest that puts you up against an enemy thats extremely difficult to beat and can be off putting as its one of the first main quests you get. This is in the Labrinth under the pawns guild, be prepared for this difficult fight. Putting you up against this enmey so early is kinda silly IMO another thing to put off new players so early. 8. When fighting dont Just mash the attack button, a lot of classes have comebo attacks eg. Instead of just dagger slashes as a rogue, you will throw some roundhouse kicks. Using combos instead of mashing buttons makes combat so much more enjoyable. Make sure you unlock these skills as your class progresses at the inn. 9. The climbing mechanic isnt just a gimmick Eg. Cyclops with helmets on are diffcult to beat as their eye is the weak spot, if you climb up their back and attack their neck they will try and swat you off knocking their helmet off in the process making their eye now accessible to attack ( experiment with other enemies ) 10. The height and weight of your character actually matter small light characters use less stamina but cant carry as much, bulky muscley characters use more stamina but can carry more. 11. Always deposit materials into your stash at the inn, they are still accesible in your stash regardless on if you are carrying them for upgrades at the smithy

I met this girl on an app, and we seemed to get along really well. Shes intelligent and fun to talk to. We have some common interests but we also have a lot of differences. We are both fit and workout. She is very attractive and about 10 years younger than me. Shes Guatemalan and her English is a little rough, we are both single parents, but im an order of magnitude above her in socio economic status. We live in different cities so we didn’t meet for a while but we texted back and forth nearly all day for about a month. There is a mountain i had been wanting to hike in her city, and i was interested in meeting her, so I took a couple of vacation days and went for a long weekend in her city.
I thought we would spend some of the time together going on dates and maybe we would end up making out or something. I flew in and got a ride to where i was staying on Thursday evening. I didn’t have a car in her city and was planning to use uber while i was there. She suggested she come over to the airbnb i was at on Friday morning and then we could decide where to go from there. I was a little surprised that she would feel comfortable coming to the apartment i was staying at to meet me the first time. She came, i met her outside in the parking lot, she was cool and beautiful. We went inside and had coffee. We talked for a couple hours and then she put some latin music on and asked if i knew how to dance. We danced for maybe 4 minutes and then she started kissing me and then we went to the couch and she started taking clothes off.. we had sex within a couple hours of meeting. First time ive ever has sex on a first date. I was a little shocked. We spent the entire day together, it was great. She went home at night because her kid, and she lives with her mom. Shes divorced and 27.. She went hiking with me the next day, it was great, we went to some hot springs and swam together, had sex again. Spent Saturday and Sunday together and i left Monday morning.
We both said we had a really great time and the more time we spent together the more we both thought that we could be a serious couple and have something real, like a forever thing.
We took a lot of pictures together each day, but she took some pictures of herself when we were doing the hike. Tuesday i logged back into the app, and she had added a picture of herself from our hike to her dating profile. Today i asked her if she was still looking for people on the app. She said shes not talking to anyone else but if she did talk to someone on the app she would make it clear to them it was just for friendship.😬. It feels like a smack in the face to me that she added more pics to her profile after we did all that together and had both voiced interest in this being a serious relationship. It being a picture from out trip together feels like an extra insult. I feel like dropping the whole thing and being done with her.
I told her seeing that she added that pic hurts me a lot. She said i was controlling for checking her profile 😂. She said she would delete her profile and that she doesn’t need it and that i am very special to her. She did actually immediately delete her account.
I feel like just dropping her, like if she wants attention from other guys, i should just let her go. Am i overreacting? Or not?

2024.05.15 04:39 Borg34572 Bizarre thing happening to my truck. Any ideas are welcome.

So basically this weird thing just started happening to my truck where the engine would start to run rough ONLY when I'm about to park in parking lots.
It sounds rough like it's about to stall but It never actually does. It's so rough it shakes the entire truck. But I let it sit there one time running rough, not putting any pressure on the accelerator as well and after a minute or two idling rough, it just suddenly smooths out and everything is fine again . It almost sounds like it stalled because the engine suddenly goes back to normal operation which is much quieter compared to whatever the hell it's doing but nope it just kind of fixes itself.
It's just strange to me that it only happens in parking lots during low RPM. But why only parking lots ? Everytime I drive it there is no loss of power, it sounds like a beast and even slowing down to stops in low RPM it never happens, it's smooth as hell. Literally only occurs in parking lots !! It's so bizarre and I'm scratching my head here.
I looked online and there's a ton of advice for the 5.4 triton. I'm aware it has a lot of issues but everything people suggest to change has already been changed. All the timing parts are new from last year. Spark plugs , VCT , cam phasers you name it.
I came across a thread suggesting that it might be low charge from the battery during low RPM causing all sorts of instruments/sensors to not function properly. And I am actually getting a code for both camshaft position sensors. But it only pops up sometimes.
So I decided to give my battery a check and man both terminals were caked in corrosion and green battery acid shit. So I cleaned it all up, sanded the terminals and applied dielectric grease. Did the whole idle relearn after that and so far I have not been able to replicate the problem in parking lots. It seems smoother. Fingers crossed that actually fixed it.
But if it does return. Any ideas on what could be the problem ? My mechanic says it's just the camshaft sensor need replacing so that's my next thing to try I guess.

I'm very much expecting to be roasted for my great taste. Do your worst.
I've been playing for nearly six months. Many of the characters I've really come to really enjoy. So, I wanted to go through each Nikke I have pulled and discuss how attractive they are.
Attraction has two big components for me, how physical attractive they are and how attractive their personality is. I will refer to these as "beauty" and "personality"
I will rank both on a 1-10 scale and combine for a total score. Note that I will only be reviewing Nikkes that I have pulled. Hard for me to review characters I don't know very well.

Let's start with the top tier "Spend the rest of my life with". These are the best of the best and most attractive girls with scores 18.5 and up.
Rapi
Beauty - 10/10
Personality - 10/10
Total score - 20/20
Starting with best girl Rapi. The only girl I give a perfect score to in both categories. She's the poster girl for the game for a reason. Just so beautiful and adorable. Just a great design and outfit. Love her cute cap especially.
In terms of personality, she also knocks it out of the park. I have a big weakness for characters that appear cold on the outside but are actually just softies. Rapi pulls this off perfectly. I also really enjoy characters that are really disciplined and loyal to what they believe in. I also really enjoy the "straight man" role she plays with Anis and Neon's antics.
Marciana
Beauty - 10/10
Personality - 9.5/10
Total score - 19.5/20
Maybe it's the tight white pants, maybe it's the midriff, maybe it's the fact that she looks like a hot teacher I had when I was 14 but I think Marciana has one of the most attractive appearances of any Nikke. She has a great demenor and I will always have a love for dark haired girls.
Her personality is also fantastic. I love her stern and cold appearance on first viewing. Much like Rapi, I just love a girl who is tough on the outside but a big softy on the inside. She was extremely adorable in her bond story and I loved seeing that other side of her you may not expect.
D
Beauty - 10/10
Personality - 9/10
Total score - 19/20
There is no more attractive combo than black hair + red eyes. This combo will kill me every time I see it. Now I liked D before, but once she got her new SSR she rocketed up my beauty rankings. She is the most attractive looking girl in all of Nikke without a doubt. Her black dress is to die for. Plus she reminds me a bit of Yor Forger which is always a good thing.
As you can probably tell from above, I really love girls who seem really cold and rigid. I feel D may not show her soft side as much as Marciana or Rapi but the odd time it does come it is absolutely adorable. I also really appreciate her strong discipline and wanting to get her job done and do it correctly. Not to mention a girl who can kill me is always a plus.
Maxwell
Beauty - 10/10
Personality - 8.5/10
Total score - 18.5/20
Maxwell marks the last Nikke in my ranking to receive a 10 for beauty, and she absolutely deserves it. Every part of Maxwell is just amazing to look at. Her toned abs are the highlight for me as I really love an athletic girl, as well as having my ideal chest size. She's free to examine me as much as she wants. Not to mention her design is also extremely adorable and I love the little cap she has on.
Her personality also does quite well for me. I really enjoy the straight man role she has with her quirky teammates. A valuable role to have as it is needed to keep them in check and to not go overboard.
Blanc
Beauty - 9.5/10
Personality - 9/10
Total score - 18.5/20
Ah the bunny girls, of course Blanc's beauty will be high! Blanc is absolutely adorable! The white skin, hair, and suit mixing with those beautiful yellow eyes is truly breathtaking. The adorable collar and tie she has is amazing as well. My favourite part of her whole design has to be the little fang she has. It just destroys me.
I really love how outgoing, extraverted, and friendly she is. This side of her does really well playing off Noir and giving them a fun dynamic in how opposite they are in many way. Someone just very enjoyable that I would love to see on my screen at any time.
That concludes our top tier and my top 5. Next we will go to the still great but "Near perfection". This includes scores of 17-18.
Privaty
Beauty - 9/10
Personality - 9/10
Total score - 18/20
Privaty is super adorable. She has my favourite blush out of any girl in the game. Also love her adorable twintails, sexy yellow eyes, and her larger than sometimes expected chest. Her maid SSR is fantastic and really helps show off her adorableness and her assets.
I adore tsunderes and Privaty does it perfectly. She would be so fun to tease as you would always get a great reaction. Like stated previously, I really love a girl who seems rigid at first but actually really cares.
Diesel
Beauty - 8.5/10
Personality - 9/10
Total score - 17.5/20
Diesel is really pretty and quite beautiful. Her conductor outfit is very cute and fits her very well. Her smile is always a joy to see and should always be protected.
I adore how sweet she is. Someone who you just want to see keep smiling and never frown. I really enjoy her because she is just a joy to be around. Even in her sader moments, it is still great to see her be able to move on and keep a smile.
Crown
Beauty - 8.5/10
Personality - 8.5/10
Total score - 17/20
Crown is very elegant and beautiful. I love the dignified aura her design holds. Her outfit is great too, as it really does well in both showing her curves but still giving her a regal and professional feel.
I think Crown is hilarious with how she can often mess up basic words and concepts. Otherwise, I really love how disciplined she is and how dedicated she is to being a leader.
Rosanna
Beauty - 9.5/10
Personality - 7.5/10
Total score - 17/20
Rosanna has a fantastic design. Split white/black hair is great and man those eyes are killer. Her outfit is also fantastic. The mafia boss style is cool and sexy, and she has great midriff and cleavage that are very alluring. Don't even get me started on those thigh high boots.
Her personality is also good, even if not as great as who I have mentioned before. I love how forward she is with what she wants. Just straight up telling the commander she wants to hook up in her bond story was awesome. I also love how protective she can really get. Again I really love a girl who can kill me.
Exia
Beauty - 8/10
Personality - 9/10
Total score - 17/20
Exia is such a cutie. The oversized shirt is adorable and oddly quite sexy. The messy hair, dazed look in her eyes, and exposed thighs are also really good.
I'd love to waste the rest of my life playing video games with Exia. Just waste away from responsibilities and society by just playing games. This is the ideal scenario in my mind.
Isabel
Beauty - 8/10
Personality - 9/10
Total score - 17/20
Isabel has a killer body and a very kissable face. I really love her beautiful long purple hair and how it blends with her beautiful eyes and outfit so well.
Yanderes are always fantastic. Isabel can lock me in her house and throw away the key for all I care. She just needs some love and to have a stable happy family in her life (I mean I don't know how stable of a life you could have with Isabel but at least we have similar life goals).
Those are the 6 in my second tier. Next we have the "Beautiful" tier for those scoring between 15-16.5.
Rapunzel
Beauty - 8.5/10
Personality - 8/10
Total score - 16.5/20
I'm not normally into the whole nun thing and I'm also not typically into blondes but Rapunzel is so gorgeous that I overlook that. She has a very lovely smile and a very alluring outfit that shows her great proportions very nicely.
Her normally holy design and behaviour being taken over by her dirty thoughts is always funny too see. She reminds me a bit of Darkness from Konosuba in that way. With the impure thoughts just constantly invading her mind.
Mihara
Beauty - 8/10
Personality - 8/10
Total score - 16/20
Mihara really activated something in me that I didn't know I had. Her outfit is quite lewd but also very attractive. The black goes really well with her lovely black hair. You can really tell she mean business.
Masochism is great, right? I definitely like giving pain rather than receiving so this works for me. Not to mention that I really like her voice. Goes right through my ears and into my brain.
Noir
Beauty - 7.5/10
Personality - 7.5/10
Total score - 15/20
The 2nd best of the bunnies, she is good but not nearly as good as Blanc. She has quite the attractive appearance but I feel her chest is a bit too large for what I normally like in a girl. Otherwise the black bunny suit is really great.
Personality also isn't as good as blank. I don't tend to enjoy someone who is overly shy and reserved. I do appreciate how kind and caring she is and how she is trying to improve.
Yuhla
Beauty - 7.5/10
Personality - 7.5/10
Total score - 15/20
Yuhla's design overall is very good but it is her sharp teeth that appeal to me most. Something about them is just very attractive and suits her quite well. Not to mention her outfit gives her great midriff and even shows off some cool scarring.
I really appreciate hard workers and while she doesn't have the most friendly personality, she still wins me over with how spicy she got in her bond story.
That ends this tier of characters. Next we start to fall off a bit with the "Almost good" tier. This tier has scores from 13.5-14.5.
Helm
Beauty - 7/10
Personality - 7.5/10
Total score - 14.5/20
On paper Helm's design should by a 10/10 for me. The outfit, the hair, the thick thighs all really appeals to me. Just something about her feels a bit... off? Maybe it is her posture and how she is a bit hunched over that makes it look odd to me. Still overall I like her design but I just feel it is not as good as it should be.
I really appreciate how disciplined she is. Anytime a girl has strong discipline and loyalty she will really appeal to me. Other than that she is a little bit boring. I remember her bond story being a bit meh.
Naga
Beauty - 8/10
Personality - 6.5/10
Total score - 14.5/20
Naga has a great design. Schoolgirl outfit is very cute and the unbuttoned top and short teasing skirt are very alluring. I really like her hairstyle with one of her eyes being covered by her hair.
Naga's personality doesn't quite hit for me. I like how she tends to act more on the mature side but in reality I just found her to be really really boring most of the time. A few times she was good but it wasn't often enough for me to give a higher score.
Noise
Beauty - 7.5/10

Noise is another girl with a very attractive design. It is really good all around and I can see how people would really like her, but for me it is good rather than great. I'm not a big fan of the blonde she has in her hair. If her hair was all dark I think it would look better.
Her personality is very bland. On paper I like the idea of a one hit wonder trying to get another hit but Noise just doesn't have the personality to get me invested. No an awful one but not great either.
Mast

Mast has a great design. Very sexy and very cute. Reminds me a bit of Marine from Hololive. The twintails are super cute and the fang is fantastic.
For personality, I haven't done her bond story yet so I don't know it too well. Her ranking may change when I play it. For now I think a 5 is fair as from what I have seen, she seems average.
This ends the first half of tiers. Now we start getting into those I don't like. Next is the "Average at best. Bad at worst". Scores will be 11-13.
Quiry

Quiry is very cute and I really like her outfit. One major drawback of her is that I am not a huge fan of pink hair. Otherwise the design is pretty solid all around.
I don't know too much about her as I haven't done her bond story but I do like her quirk of having poor eyesight. Cute and endearing but I just don't know her well enough.
Soda

Soda has two very big reasons to like her design. The thing holding her design back for me is that her head just looks empty. Like just a blank face with no other thoughts behind it. Normally I like a smile but she looks less dumb without one.
Her personality is a bit annoying. I like a bit of clumsiness but hers just is way too much. Really brings down her score for me. Otherwise she seems cute and kind.
Julia

If there was an award for most forgettable SSR, I would give it to Julia. I completely keep forgetting she exists even tho I do really like her design. It is very beautiful and elegant. I really like the violin as well.
Maybe because I haven't done her bond story but what I have seen just seems really boring to me. As I learn more about her, she may go up but for now I can only give a 4.5.
Yuni

Yuni's design doesn't hit super hard for me. A bit too small in stature for my personal preference but she is quite cute. Plus again not huge on pink hair in general.
I don't like receiving pain (at least not physical) so that relly does turn me away from her a bit. Otherwise she is cute enough but not my cup of tea.
Anis

Now I know some won't be happy with this one. Anis is very ok but is 100% overrated. She is quite cute but she really doesn't live up to the hype that some people give her. I do like her hat a lot tho.
For personality she can be annoying at times. She can be funny but for the most part I think a lot of her jokes fall flat.
This ends the average tier. Now we can get into girl I don't like in the "Why do people like them?" tier. This has scores between 5-10.
Brid

I know Brid has 2 big reasons that people like her, but for me they are a bit too big and I don't really like anything else she has going for her. Not huge on the hair even tho I am normally a big fan of white hair.

Very meh design. Not a fan of the hair, or the army gear. If she wore the sunglasses rather than having them on her forehead, it would improve my opinion.

Neon is easily the worst Counters member. I wish it had been someone else. Exia I think would have been a good choice. Her design really doesn't do much for me. I usually like hats but hers I always thought looked really bad on her. Needs a change of outfit and to actually face the camera.
Her personality is very annoying as well. Feels like she is so one note for someone who is a main character. Just talking about firepower and not a ton else. Just in the game way too much.
Rupee

Honestly I think she is kind of ugly. The big smile makes her looks super dumb and a bit like a bimbo. That's just what I get from her design. Don't find her attractive at all.
Her personality also seems really annoying and was making me roll my eyes when she's on screen.
That is the end of this tier. I know I have made some enemies for these placements. The next tier is the "Pass" tier. I'm not going to go through each girl here as they are all ones I just don't have an interest in. Most because the design just looks too young for me and I don't want to talk about their attraction level. There are some however who I really like the characters of. For example, Liter is great and I'd love to complain about the youth with her. Soline is also special to me as she was the first Nikke I pulled.
The final tier is the "Extremely attractive but I hate them as characters so I wouldn't go close to them". These are the worst offenders of all. Characters who have the design but just awful personality.
Sin

Sin is insanely hot. A top 10 design in the game IMO. The yogo pants are wild and I really think the mask looks good on her.
Here is the problem. I HATE manipulative women. Nothing is more aggravating and a bigger turn away than someone manipulative. Taking advantage of someone's kindness like that is just cruel and evil (and not evil in the sexy way). I just can't like someone like that.
Viper

Viper is even a worse case. She was the reason I started playing the game in the first place. My disappointment when she turned out to be manipulative and cruel just upset me greatly. A great design wasted on garbage.

2024.05.15 04:37 Clevercrumbish New Mod/Modder's Resource: Sunless Data Loading Simplified

Hey y'all, it's me back again. I'm still personally taking some time away from modding due to Life Stuff, so no Sunless Sea Softcoded updates yet, but I've offered to make an announcement on behalf of user MagicJinn, who no longer has a Reddit account.
MagicJinn has been working very hard recently on a spectacular new mod called SDLS, or Sunless Data Loading Simplified. To those who've ever tried making addon mods themselves: Do you ever feel like a lot of the "stuff" on a Sunless Sea data object is weird and confusing and doesn't seem to need to be there? That's because it is, it is, and were it not for the fact that the game complains and throws errors if it's removed, it wouldn't. Mod support for Sunless Sea originated as an afterthought based on what fans were already doing with the exposed data structure, so there wasn't really an opportunity for Failbetter to clean up their trash before welcoming us into their home. There are a lot of qualities you have to account for on a modded object that do literally nothing in the entire game, or always keep their default values, or both!
MagicJinn correctly identified that this makes Sunless Sea modding much stupider and more complicated and confusing than it actually needs to be, so he's created a mod that allows the game to load a new, streamlined format (.sdls) containing only the data you actually want to change in your mod. Then, when you start the game with SDLS installed, it fills out all the boilerplate nonsense it needs and resaves your mod as a regular json file. You can use this in two ways:
At the moment, the second way is more useful, since it means your mods don't need to require a user have SDLS to run but you can still take advantage of its slimline object-writing requirements, but on the roadmap for SDLS is the ability to automatically merge mods that are compatible in terms of not changing any of the same properties (so don't have any conflicts in SDLS) but are incompatible in terms of changing the same objects (so do have conflicts in normal Sunless Sea json). I've been helping MagicJinn with this feature a little and will be sure to let you all know when it's ready.
SDLS itself is available here. The source code is available here.
As a proof-of-concept demonstration of SDLS, MagicJinn has updated his existing mod Legacy Yacht to have an accompanying SDLS version. That is available here as a mod and here as source.

Platform(s): Android
Genre: not sure but the game looked similar to diablo Immortal.
Estimated year of release: 2005-2011 (possibly earlier)
Graphics/art style: It was 3D.
Notable characters: I only remember there being one character.
Notable gameplay mechanics: The game was mostly offline. There was some sort of leaderboard and top player got equipment as reward. There were four dragon bosses. Black, white, green and blue (not it this order). The bosses were fought one at a time. Each boss would get progressively harder. I think the dragons were pretty early game but i never got past them(i played for at least a year).
Other details: The first few levels were within a dungeon. I think the enemies spawned from the ground. can't recall what type of enemies they were. There were also pots and stuff that you could break to get items/health. I think there was gold currency too. The dragon fights were on a platform. The dragon would occupy most(half) of the platform. and the player was able to maneuver on the other half. I only ever defeated the first dragon so don't know what the game content was like past the dragons. The game was not dialog heavy afaik.
This was pretty long ago so a lot of the details are fuzzy, so take everything with a grain of salt.

My ex and I dated for a year. There was never any definitive reason for the split. Nobody cheated, if anything my ex described it as “no spark.” Ultimately he was half in half out the whole time- which led to me feeling insecure and eventually I couldn’t take it anymore and as kindly as I could expressed it would be best for us to part ways. We have stayed connected off and on, seen each other over time. Fast forward, after planning to meet up last week but not making definitive plans, he suddenly blocked me the following evening (he’s never blocked me before) texting me he could no longer do this and to not reach out. He’s expressed to me recently how he “hates” how attracted he is to me, how I’m his weakness essentially that he can’t say no to… and I’m thinking maybe it’s for his own self control? I am not an excessive texter or caller- I don’t go blowing up his phone and make sure the texts are fairly reciprocal. I will typically only engage once he reaches out and rarely initiate. Initially I was shocked when he blocked me and I called him to see if he did block me, which he did. I understand that all things must come to a close, however, I am definitely saddened over this. Also the sudden manner in which he blocked me made me wonder if I had done something wrong. I respect his decision because I will never be where I am not wanted, however we were planning to meet in the upcoming day which is why it was shocking. I am respecting his boundaries, I have not attempted to reach him or go around the block- I did not block him on my end. Today I was thinking about him a bit as it is his birthday. I went to go pick up takeout from a restaurant and saw his car in the parking lot. There are a few other businesses and things there so I honestly wasn’t sure if he was inside, part of me prepared myself in case he was…I took a deep breath and went in, sure enough he was the only one in the restaurant and eating dinner with his parents. There wasn’t anyone at the front as it was empty and so I was just stood there, hoping the waitress would just come up without making much notice of my arrival- but then she called from the back of the restaurant —asking if I was dining in or here to pickup, I said “Hi, here for pickup,” he turned so quick and from the sound of my voice and we awkwardly made eye contact with his parents just sitting there, too. I didn’t know what to do with his parents there, I just awkwardly did a little wave, smiled, then grabbed my food and left. There was no hiding, the pickup area and restaurant have no divider between them- so I couldn’t have avoided it even if I had tried. If he was alone I probably wouldn’t have waved but I also didn’t want to be rude as his parents were at the table. Perhaps I am over thinking things now but I don’t want him to think that I followed him- it is not one of his usual restaurants. But he seemed shocked and somewhat glared at me without saying a word. Definitely awkward all the way around. I won’t attempt to contact him again. But would it be nice to hear if this has happened to anybody with running into an ex and what transpired…
