2024.04.16 18:28 Professional-Set-415 [WTS][BC] Spring Shell Fed Shotgun $130
Yoyoyo, I'm selling a shell fed shotgun.
Great wall hanger piece but it's not the most practical for fielding.
Will include 4 shells and a shell holder with the gun.
The gun is single shot but has a lock delete mod which allows you to pump multiple times.
As this is an older gun, I don’t remember the brand.
Quirks:
Being an older guns, there’s a few quirks.
1) The shotgun will occasionally dry fire
2) The shell holder sucks and holds the shells in loosely (could be fixed by adding friction with tape)
Price: $130 open to offers and trades
Unfortunately local deals only (Vancouver, BC)

2024.03.30 22:21 P-Potatovich [WTB][WTT][BC] Ronin tk45, we/cybergun deagle, double barrel pistol and other stuff.
Hello, really want to get some stuff, dm if you have some of these.
Kwa ronin tk45 (most preferred)
Interested in purchasing kwa ronin tk45, doesn't matter what version, long or short, I haven't decided yet. Local preferred (Vancouver) but I don't mind going even to Maple Ridge or Langley for the gun. I don't mind shipping either. The only reason I like the gun is because of the look, I don't care so much about internals as l literally just collect guns, I don't play with them as l have no time, so stick or shitty internals are ok with me. As soon as it works and looks I'm good with it. My budget would be all the way up to 350$ on this one, I assume it costs like that used but I have no idea tbh. As always, the cheaper the better.
We/cybergun deagle (second preferred)
I already have one and I want the other one to have akimbo deagles. So no ther brands like kwc or Tokyo marui will work for me. Not looking for it to be in perfect condition, preferably black colour. The more magazines the better (green gas). As always local is preferred, but shipping is fine. Literally not expecting it to be in a good condition so my budget would be like 150/more if more magazines than one.
WE/CYBERGUN deagle magazines
I'd be glad to purchase mags separately too, as ! already have one desert eagle.
Mags for different guns
Interested in magazines for:
Kwc pt99 (2-4 mags)
We deagle
Kwc deagle (not really)
KJw kp06
Umarex colt commander 4,5mm
Regular ak mags (only locally and only awesome deal)
Dpms sbr
Double barrel pistol (last preferred)
Just want to get one or 2 of those, preferably with a big amount of magazines. Not exactly sure what it costs but l'm not planning to spend more than 200/250 on this one, but if my price is way to low please comment and tell me about that. Preferably 1911 style, glock works too. The crappier and cheaper the better. Gas blowback too.
Smith and Wesson big black revolver
Unfortunately I don’t remember the model but if you have one, big black revolver should be enough to understand what I mean). As far as I know they’re not too expensive so if you have one just shoot me a message
Other stuff (preferred a lot/not a lot depending what you have)
I'm looking for other stuff like micro Uzi, m249, Fn fal, shield, shotgun, crappy guns, average sized glock (g42), 2barrel pistols, pcc ak, pcc guns and so on, but I'm too lazy to describe that stuff now. If you want to, go to may profile and search for „wto". You should be able to see all my wtb posts, there are more details in each of them. I will sit down and write a huge list of stuff I want to get, and will be reuploading time to But not now.
Thanks!

2024.03.25 08:36 P-Potatovich [WTB][WTT][BC] Ronin tk45, we/cybergun deagle, double barrel pistol and other stuff.
I’d be glad to purchase mags separately too, as I already have one desert eagle.
Mags for different guns
Interested in magazines for:
Kwc pt99 (2-4 mags)
We deagle
Kwc deagle (not really)
Kjw kp06
Umarex colt commander 4,5mm
Regular ak mags (only locally and only awesome deal)
Dpms sbr
Double barrel pistol (last preferred)
Just want to get one or 2 of those, preferably with a big amount of magazines. Not exactly sure what it costs but I’m not planning to spend more than 200/250 on this one, but if my price is way to low please comment and tell me about that. Preferably 1911 style, glock works too. The crappier and cheaper the better. Gas blowback too.
Other stuff (proffered a lot/not a lot depending what you have)
I'm looking for other stuff like micro Uzi, m249, Fn fal, shield, shotgun, crappy guns, average sized glock (g42), 2barrel pistols, pcc ak, pcc guns and so on, but I'm too lazy to describe that stuff now. If you want to, go to may profile and search for „wtb". You should be able to see all my wtb posts, there are more details in each of them. I will sit down and write a huge list of stuff I want to get, and will be reuploading time to time. But not now.
Thanks!

2024.03.14 22:27 eddy_talon [WTS][BC] Even more loads and loads of gear and accessories
This post has been replaced by this one:
https://new.reddit.com/airsoftmarketcanada/comments/1c6763d/wtsbc\_yet\_more\_loads\_and\_loads\_of\_gear\_and/ Thanks for looking!
Early spring cleaning. PayPal, e-Transfer, or cash. Local in Metro Vancouver area for meetup, can also ship. Currently not open to trades, sorry.
I will be editing and adding more here as I find things I don't need.
Guns and gun parts:
- WE M9 Ver. 2 GBB full-metal select-fire pistol ($180):
- Lightly used, never gamed.
- Selectable semi- and FULL-auto! You put the switch in the middle of up (semi) and down (decock/safe) for the full-auto function
- Decocker is actually functional unlike most other M9 or Beretta 92 airsoft models - only WE and TM's Version 2s have this
- Takes green gas mags, but there are also CO2 mags available out there
- This was imported with an elongated inner barrel to meet 366 FPS importation requirements. Normal barrel is now installed. I have not chrono'd this, but it should now theoretically be about CQB legal FPS
- Comes with M9, 1 green gas magazine, 2 barrels (1 normal size, one extended two-piece for a mock suppressor)
- Full metal, threaded barrel (interior 11mm - you need WE's adapter)
- A&K SR-25 AEG full metal receiver set ($70):
- Brand new, open box condition. I never got around to this project. Oh well. My loss is your gain. Stock from factory.
- Can fit the V2.5 gearbox (elongated V2) standard on all SR-25 AEGs or a modified V2 gearbox.
- Includes charging handle, body pins, dust cover, everything you see in the pic - for the most part, it shares many parts with Marui standard M4 AEGs
- NCStar 1911 clamp-on rail ($15):
- Fits onto any classic-style 1911 with no rail (i.e. Marui Series 70, M1911A1)
- Full metal construction - made for the real thing
- Brand new, open box condition. never used. Does NOT fit KWC as the frame is too thick - this is why I never used it.
- Magpul PTS MOE M4 handguard ($25):
- Meant to be a drop-in replacement for the standard Marui-type M4 AEG handguard with the delta ring and cap. Polymer construction as all Magpul stuff is.
- Comes with 3 plastic rail sections - 2 sides and 1 bottom.
- Gamed once. Good condition.
- AGM pistol optic rail ($10):
- Allows you to mount a scope, red dot sight, etc. on the top (12 o'clock) of your pistol and a laser, light, etc. on the side (3 o'clock) or bottom (6 o'clock)
- Fits any pistol with a RIS rail on the dust cover - can fit all slide heights that I know of, including the Desert Eagle
- Full metal construction , comes with one REMOVABLE side rail section.
- Never gamed, just used for display
- UTG Rail Riser ($10):
- Rises your rail by 0.5" for higher optics, fits any RIS rail . Full metal construction
- Never gamed, just used for display
- 2x Clamp-on rail section for barrels ($5 each):
- This rail section allows you to mount a flashlight or laser on your barrel 90s-style . Full metal construction
- Has screw indents where I placed the LMG-type bipod below. Other than that, great condition. Free if you buy something else from me, just let me know if you want it!
- A&K 300rd hicap M4 magazine ($5):
- New, out of package condition. Never even inserted into a magwell
- Full metal construction. Marui-compatible.
- VFC 300rd FN SCAR-L CQC hicap magazine and manual ($10):
- New, out of package condition. Never even inserted into a magwell
- Full metal construction. Marui M4 type-compatible. Tan coloured (and the right shade, too)
- KJ Works M9 metal outer barrel ($5):
- Full metal construction. Theoretically should fit all Marui-type M9s/M92s since the KJ Works M9 I had was based off of the original V1 Marui M92.
- A bit of wear from taking it out of my M9, but still functional.
- RioRand Harris-style bipod (bipod/sling swivel stud mounted) ($20):
- Full metal construction with rubber feet. Fully adjustable. If you have a gun with a standard bipod/sling swivel stud mounted on it, this will fit. If not, there are bipod stud adapters for all rail systems out there.
- Never used. It was mounted once and briefly on one of my snipers for display until I got the actual real one.
LMG-type bipod ($15): SOLD! Simpler bipod for rugged use. Full metal construction. Meant to be loose for quick deployment and to survive being slammed on surfaces when you take cover. Black coloured. Fits RIS/RAS rails. Gamed a couple times on my M4-type LMG. Still holding out just fine.
- Element tan grippod ($10):
- This one, if you get it, you have to slam the legs back up the grip with authority to keep it there like the real thing. Slam it hard. Fits RIS/RAS rails.
- Brand new condition. Never gamed.
- G&G KAC-style vertical foregrip ($10):
- Superior G&G polymer construction. Will hold up better than most others. Fits RIS/RAS rails.
- Used a couple times in games. Still in excellent condition.
- A&K KAC-style grip and rail cover panel set ($20):
- 5 piece set - includes 1x standard vertical foregrip, 2x full-length rail cover panels, and 2x 1/3rd-length rail cover panels (relative to the size of a standard M4 RIS, of course). Fits RIS/RAS rails
- Used a couple times in games. Still in excellent condition.
G&P M203 QD ladder sight (RIS-mounted) ($50): SOLD! RARE! These are discontinued and are, as far as I know, the last airsoft manufacturer to make these RIS/RAS mounted, full-metal construction, quick-detachable - just two knob turns attaches/removes it from your rail Brand new, open box condition
- Docter-style mini red dot sight (RIS-mounted) ($25):
- Comes with a sight cover for storage
- Brand new, open box condition
- Umarex MP5 3-lug flash hider ($10):
- Quick-detach, fits MP5s with the 3-lugs machined on the barrel . Plastic construction
- Brand new, open box condition
Genuine BCM Gunfighter vertical grip VG-1913-Mod-3 ($25): SOLD! Made in the USA for real-steel firearms Fits RIS/RAS rails, stubby-type and slightly angled from vertical Brand new and sealed in packaging, I ordered it by accident - wanted MLOK
- UTG 400 Lumen Subcompact Pistol LED Flashlight ($30):
- Uses 1 CR2 battery, full-metal construction, ambidextrous toggle switch, momentary and constant modes, quick-detach mount
- Fits most pistols with a rail, made for real-steel firearms
- Lightly used, never gamed
- AGM rail-mounted red laser ($20):
- Full-metal construction, can fit pistols in addition to everything else with rails
- Lightly used, never gamed
- BCM-style vertical grip ($5):
- Similar-in-concept to the BCM grip above, fits RIS/RAS rails
- A little ding on the screw from tightening, otherwise excellent condition

- Fits RIS/RAS rails, rubbePVC construction
- Used condition, needs cleaning, still works just fine. Free if you buy something else from me, just let me know if you want it!

Guns and gun parts: - WE M9 Ver. 2 GBB full-metal select-fire pistol ($200):
- Comes with M9, 1 green gas magazine, 2 barrels (1 normal size, one extended for a mock suppressor)
- Pistol optic rail ($15):
- Allows you to mount a scope, red dot sight, etc. on the top (12 o'clock) of your pistol and a laser, light, etc. on the side (3 o'clock) or bottom (6 o'clock)
- Fits any pistol with a RIS rail on the dust cover - can fit all slide heights that I know of, including the Desert Eagle

2024.01.05 23:11 crayon_consoomer The effects of drugs, a gang war, and violent crime on a defenseless community.
I live about a half hour outside of Vancouver, Canada. It seems that just about every single day at this point, another gang-related stabbing, or shooting resulting in a death is making the news. In the greater Vancouvefraser valley area there has been an escalating gang war. I am no expert in gangs, but rather just a concerned citizen sharing my thoughts, so please excuse me if I'm not on point with all the details.
The gang activity has been present in the area since 90s, and to a lesser extent even beforehand, but the last 5 or so years has seen serious escalation, even spreading to the okanagan region, hours away. Often it's a shooting at or near a place of worship (I.e. a recent high profile case involving a Sikh temple, community leader, and allegations of the Indian Government's involvement) followed by a car being torched in an alley somewhere accessible by a major road. Today I woke up, and heard of two killings, again, gang-related. A few years ago a 14-year-old was shot 4 doors down from my home at the time, I've since moved out of that home, and to a slightly better neighborhood, where last year, my high-school was put on lockdown after a mass-[redacted] threat. The homes nearby me constantly have first responders at them, usually for overdoses, but the meth has resulted in 2 busing fires next to me.
The drug crisis has gotten too far out of hand. So much to the point it's been declared an epidemic for some years now, several die each day because of it, and it goes unreported to the media, because there is just so much of it, hell I lost not only my brother to it, but most of the deaths in my family are caused by it. Downtown Vancouver is a total shitshow because of it, any puic institution is littered with not only the unfortunate, but also their discards and paraphernalia, presenting a serious hazard to literally anyone in the area, but families/children in particular. All it takes is one wrong step and suddenly you got aids. Or more rather one wrong look and you're bleeding out on the sidewalk. They (the drug addicted and homeless) have even taken up home in parks, nect to schools, in previously safe neighborhoods, this has resulted in assaults, theft, and vandalism to those living in these areas. The police dont really care, and when they do they take months to take care of a situation (e.g strathcona park).
Tied to these, there has been an increase in random(or unorganized) violent attacks. Everywhere from in parks (see above paragraph), to on Public transit (I knew someone who was stabbed and died as a result of a random attack on a bus), and even in businesses, hell even directed at businesses. More recently a series of poorly written extortion letters have been sent out to a number of businesses in the area, and when I say poorly written, it was hilariously bad, I didnt actually think they were serious letters, but as it turns out a business just got shot at recently (last night I think).
So, what? Well, for the targeted and gang-related crime, it's easy enough to have a case of mistaken identity, or even bad aim, and have innocents get hurt and killed. The drugs and random attacks seems pretty self explanatory, but in any case, having someone try to harm you and your family is not something to be taken lightly. Downtown Vancouver is turned into a shithole, for a place internationally known as a tourist destination. Again, it's not just downtown, but everywhere in the area (most notably the city of surrey).
The natural reaction to stuff like this for most of us in this sub is to be aware, harden your home, carry a firearm, carry first aid, and so on. Unfortunately the biggest and most effective deterrent: guns, are not a legal tool for self defense here, hell, self defense even without a firearms is often not legal. In Canada we have what's known as a duty to retreat, to retreat as much as possible, and not to fight back unless it is an absolute last resort, and there is threat of serious harm. Granted, the courts have been ruling some cases in favour of the home defender recently, which is reassuring, but none with guns involved. However most of us rightfully prefer to defend themselves and family before worrying about the legality. On a practical level though, firearms (as they are the most viable option for self defense) are a bit iffy to obtain in canada. For once you need to get a liscence, which the course and test for are quite easy, but the issue is in the cost, and process afterwards. The cost of a course varies from instructor to instructor, but averages anywhere from 120-200 bucks for a non-restricted liscence (most rifles and shotguns) once you pass you need to mail in your paperwork (or do it online) to the RCMP, and hope to god they care to pick it up from their desk. The process officially states to take about 45 days (after the 28 day minimum waiting period, and excluding mail time), but a quick check on
canadaguns, or Canadian Gun Nutz (website) reveals a fair bit of applicants waiting up to a year and a half. Mind you this is only for NR guns, restricted firearms are SBRs, handguns, and a few oddball scaries. Handguns can not be transferred any more (I.e a handgun ban, but with grandfathering), and handguns being the most effective self defense tool for carry being frozen, is kinda stupid. Not to mention the fact that even of they weren't, you would not allowed to carry one anyway, or use it for self-defense in any capacity. All this leads to a pretty defenseless population.
One would hope these laws could be changed or repealed, but it's only gonna get worse, as of the new year, bill C-21 has become law. Placing even heavier restrictions on an already heavily policed state. Forcing us to rely on emails to our "representatives" who rarely have our interest at heart. Or through lawsuits by the CCFR and NFA, which although great organizations, dont exactly have lots of power.
This is the effects of crime and disarmament on a population who could not care enough to stand up for our rights. Please to the Americans reading this, do not let your country become like this, fight it at every legal avenue that you can, at least you guys have some ways to do so. Do what you can at every level, cause this shit fucking sucks balls.

2023.12.15 21:35 BlackP- Jimmy Pattison's Daughter Kidnapped (By request).
Hi Everyone, a few of you requested I write this story specifically so I hope you enjoy! I hadn't planned on writing this as I assumed everyone knew all the details. This one could easily be a Hollywood movie. Please leave a comment, especially if you knew anything about the kidnappers.
The story starts in the late 1980s when Chadwick Mulvahill 21 read Jimmy Pattison's 1980 autobiography ("Simply Jimmy") and discovered that he had three children: Marianne, Jim Jr, and Cynthia. Apparently because of at least 2 KNOWN extortion attempts Jimmy kept his family life as secret as possible. Cynthia's neighbors didn't even know at the time of the kidnapping that she was the billionaire's daughter.
After learning of the daughter's whereabouts Mulvahill asked one of his friends in North Vancouver, "Jackson", if he knew of anyone willing to help with his kidnapping plan. Jackson introduced Mulvahill to Christian Snelgrove. Snelgrove involved his acquaintance Adam Kataoka 16 who was known to have gang ties. Kataoka involved Kamyar Porganad 17, Homan Hoshiar 17, Chad Defoe 19, and Sheldon Frederick Kwan 18. Other than Chad who was from Richmond, the remaining were North Vancouver residents.
In the very early morning of Friday December 21, 1990, Hoshiar and Porganad agreed to the $20,000 payment for the kidnapping and took a .357 magnum handgun to the Lynn Valley cul-de-sac where 30 year old Cynthia Kilburn lived. They broke into the house, tied her up, covered her face with duct tape, and threw her into the back of a stolen van. Her 4 year old twins (one boy, one girl) were taken upstairs and hogtied. The following note was typed on Mulvahill's girlfriend's mother's typewriter and left on the front door:
"If you call the police she dies. Any media reports she dies. Any slowdown in delivering the money she dies. She is buried deep down in a wooden crate with three days of bread and water. $250,000 now. $8.5 million for her safe return. If you call the police she dies. "
Now that they had a terrified Cynthia rolled up in the back of a van, Hoshiar, Porganad, and Kataoke had no idea what to do with her! They went to Jacksons house nearby, and after briefly storing her in the basement she was eventually moved to a house on Capilano Road, just north of the Edgemont Boulevard turnoff. The plan was to overdose and kill her with Heroin.
Cynthia's husband was called at 8:15am with instructions on where to drop the initial $250K payment. Despite the demands, the police were called immediately. An employee was sent to the house for the children and found the note.
The ransom drop location was an entrance to The Bay department store downtown in the Pacific Center Mall. As this was just days before Christmas the mall was packed with shoppers, as well as many plain clothed police officers. As instructed the red sports bag was placed under the table with the red tablecloth. Police stood by as shortly after Alan left, Mulvahill walked up, stuffed the red bag into his backpack, and ran into the Pacific Centre Mall.
The chase was on...
Plain clothed officers started running after Mulvahill. Somehow he eluded capture, sneaking into the Four Seasons Hotel washroom and waited until the coast was clear. He found a payphone, called Alan angry about the police and threatened to kill Cynthia if the police weren't told to back off. He managed to get outside and disappear as the police continued their search.
Mulvahill didn't call Snelgrove and Kataoka at the scheduled time and they grew nervous. Did Mulvahill get caught? Did he take off with the money? They discussed what they should do next. Thankfully they thought it safest to take Cynthia to a friends house, setting her free. On the drive they went back and forth between apologizing, and threats of violence to keep her mouth shut. They pulled over, let her out, walked her away from the van, and told her to run. She thought she was about to get shot, but wasn't. She showed up at the friends house with tape all over her face, looking completely disheveled. She had been held for 14 hours.
At 2:30am the following morning, Saturday December 22, a man and woman rented a room at "The Grouse Inn" at the corner of Capilano Road and Marine Drive in North Vancouver. The $600 deposit was paid using $100 bills.
At 8:30AM Star Limousine received a call for a stretch limo for the day. The driver, Dino Falcone, picked up three males from a townhome on East 27th, then a woman nearby, then 2 more males at Westview Mall, and one from a local hairdresser. 7 in total. The cost of the limo was $600.
The driver was told they were just finishing up school, and while taking him (the driver) out for lunch at Boston Pizza on Marine Drive, asked him where to buy briefcases.
After lunch the limo driver took them to Gastown, and then to PACIFIC CENTER MALL, back to The Bay... literally the day after picking up the cash!
The group purchased the following:
- Leather Jackets;
- Polo shirts;
- Tailored suits;
- Two guitars;
- An amplifier;
- Shoes;
- Gold watches; and
- Gave $1,000 to a homeless man.
The group told the driver that Mulvahill's father gave them the money to "have a good Christmas".
Later that day, the limo pulled into the Park Royal Mall in West Vancouver where team of geniuses was arrested. The police raided the hotel and confiscated all of the items purchased.
In total 8 were charged with kidnapping, forceable confinement, extortion, possession of stolen property, and unlawful possession of a firearm. Though three were juveniles at the time, they were all moved up to adult court.
After 2 days, Chadwick Mulvahill plead guilty and was sentenced to life in prison. Later reduced to 18, and released after 9 years. After his released he briefly attempted to live a normal life before hatching another ridiculous plan. He held a shotgun to a contractors neck at Shawnigan Lake outside Victoria in an attempt to extort money. The contractor jumped out of the moving car and ran to a nearby home. Police arrested Mulvahill days later in Courtenay with a .22 handgun. He was given a 20 year sentence for this crime.
Mulvahill's ultimate plan with the $8.5M from the ransom money was to fly to the Grand Cayman Islands.
Christian Snelgrove was sentenced to 13 years, later reduced to 10, serving 3 before being released. He was later sent back to jail for drug and assault charges.
The remaining received mild sentences. Likely due to their ages.
In 2009 Kataoka was found murdered in a parking lot in Buenos Aires, Argentina, parking lot. He had latex gloves on. He'd been shot in the head, back, and leg. Rumor has it he was a high level drug trafficker but was heavily addicted himself and was not playing by the organizations rules and had to be "off-ed".
Prior to this, according to a Vancouver Sun article...
"The U.S. indictment said both Kataoka and Pipping received regular advance payments for ecstasy pills through the first few months of 2002. Then in April that year, Kataoka passed hash, pot and pills to Pipping to transport from Vancouver to Toronto and then into the U.S.
More than 30,ooo ephedrine pills, 3,000 ecstasy and methamphetamine pills, 6.2 kilograms of hashish and 500 grams of marijuana was loaded into the side panels of a rented Dodge Grand Caravan in the parking lot of a Toronto hotel, before being driven to Buffalo, N.Y., and on to Virginia."
Like I said... this could be a Hollywood movie!

2023.12.13 22:40 BlackP- Teacher Exploits HS Student... the result? Oprah Winfrey, Larry King, a Book, and a Rap CD!
**EDIT... SHE WENT TO ARGYLE! This counts for NorthVanTrueCrime! Thanks
u/LadyHay71 !
I know I'm cheating here a little bit so I thought I would introduce a new rule for this subgroup... If you have to drive THROUGH North Vancouver to get to where the crime was committed, it still counts as "NorthVanTrueCrime". I have an INSANE missing persons' case coming up that happened in Pemberton so I need to tweak the rules a bit.
At the time this story broke I was trying desperately to survive my first few years of University, but when I read about it years later I was absolutely floored! I'm going to ask the Sechelt subgroup to comment after I post this so stay tuned...
Heather Ingram was an exceptional student. She has a BBA (SFU), a B.Ed (UBC) and an MA (Athabasca University). Up until "the incident" she was incredibly hard working, focused, diligent (although maybe a little too boring as we'll find out later). It sounds like she literally did everything right. She moved to the small sleepy town of Sechelt with her common law partner, the same partner she had since high school. She moved to start a job teaching accounting at Chatelech Secondary.
This is when all hell broke loose...
As with all true crime, the details of the story differ depending on the source. What is true is that one of her students was a bit of a badass named Dusty Dickeson. There was some flirting that happened, she admits to having him and his friends over for a movie, the friends left, and that was the first time they slept together. Heather claims that Dusty was the aggressor, but from everything I've read she absolutely loved it. The "relationship" lasted for several years but it's not exactly clear how old he was when it started.
Somehow Dusty's parents were supportive of this relationship but as soon as the superintendent of the school found out she was suspended pending a review and ultimately fired. Although the age of consent at the time was 14, there are laws around the teacher-student relationship making this a criminal offence and Heather was ultimately sentenced to 10 months house arrest.
Heather and Dusty maintained the relationship throughout and eventually had a child of their own. But it didn't last, they eventually moved on from each other.
IT COULD HAVE ENDED HERE! This could have been the end of the story... but no.
It appears that while Heather knows she was in the wrong, she didn't think it was THAT big of a deal... and for some reason she wanted the world to know about it so she wrote a book "Risking It ALL: My Student, My Lover, My Story". I didn't read this book but I did check out several reviews. It sounds like she was bored of her 11 year relationship with her common law partner / Boyfriend, saw how handsome Dusty was and went for it. She goes back and forth between "shades of grey" and feeling like trash for what she did. Most of the people who reviewed it felt gross after reading.
The attention the book received landed her on the Oprah Winfrey show and then Larry King Live. I've tried for a few years to find either of these with no success. I did find the transcripts to Larry King but there wasn't anything revealing. She admits it was wrong, but couldn't help herself as her life was so boring up until that time and needed some excitement.
It sounded like Dusty wanted to cash in on the attention as well. He had the publication ban on his name lifted (he was named "Troy" in the book) in order to release his rap CD by the group called "Straight-A's". The songs included:
- Teacher's Scandal;
- U Bitch
- Mind Your Business
- RCMP
- Life
- Friends
- Speed
The few lyrics I could find...
"Sunshine Coast/Teacher scandal/Nothing in the world that I can't handle,"
"I was 17 years old/I never did what I was told/I was bold/Yeah."
The CD didn't take off, but his criminal career did. He has a long list of arrests including sexual assault on a minor, shooting a shotgun outside of a pub, and possession of cocaine offenses.
News broke in 2017 that a few years earlier Heather was back in Sechelt working with minors at Capitano University's Sunshine Coast campus, about 1.5 kms from the high school she was fired from. It seems like an attempt was made to have her removed from the school by the community but the CapU communications department stood by their decision to hire her citing the BC Human Rights Code:
"B.C. Human Rights Code, bars discriminating against potential employees due to race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or because a person has been convicted of an 'offence that is unrelated to the employment or to the intended employment of that person.'"
She still works at CapU today, according to her bio...
"Over the past year, she has taught a variety of preparatory and first year courses and worked with students, the general public and internal faculty and staff on issues related to instruction and student planning."
I would argue that her conviction is very much related to her employment... but that's my humble opinion.
What do you guys think of this crazy story from one of my favorite BC towns? I can't believe anything out of Sechelt made it to Oprah and Larry King!

I’m looking to get a used shotgun (hoping to find a 590a1), I figure my best bet at finding used deals is to look at pawn shops. Anyone have recommendations on which shops to look at in VancouveBattleground?

2023.11.19 02:51 Positive-Cockroach86 First Gun Suggestions & Other Noobie Advice
Howdy Reddit hope all is good on your various ends,
Just looking for advice in what centre fire bolt action rifle or shotgun (preferably oveunder or pump) I should look at; or if that is even a good place to start? I'm quite green coming from an anti-gun family so know very little but what I've seen on YouTube.
I'm a huge history nerd and love the look of the old BSA/Lee enfeild sportsters, or just the classic wood furnature looking rifles/shotguns. I love the idea of taking down and cleaning/polishing something older if that is a deciding factor. I'm mechanically inclined so nothing in that way really scares me in my current state of nievety.
Thinking that I would want to go for targets and all that with grouse/ducks potentially. Any places I can look at used gunds online or on Vancouver Island? PAL course isn't till Jan so there is that.. any and all info would be great, feel free to teach me something!

Sorry for the really broad title. Im not too sure what kind of shotgun I am looking for. Part of me feels like getting a pump-action, and part of me really want semi/auto stuff like M4 / AA 12.
Kinda just looking for something below 500-600. Located in Vancouver BC.
Apologies in advance because I really don’t know what I’m looking for, but please feel free to show me what you have. Would prioritize shotguns that come with sights and silencesuppressotracer.
Thank you!

Goodreads Rating: 3.97 average from 4,713 readers
Genre Tags: Horror, Magic Realism, Thriller
Synopsis: In this gripping debut tinged with supernatural horror, a young Cree woman's dreams lead her on a perilous journey of self-discovery that ultimately forces her to confront the toll of a legacy of violence on her family, her community and the land they call home. When Mackenzie wakes up with a severed crow's head in her hands, she panics. Only moments earlier she had been fending off masses of birds in a snow-covered forest. In bed, when she blinks, the head disappears. Night after night, Mackenzie's dreams return her to a memory from before her sister Sabrina's untimely death: a weekend at the family's lakefront campsite, long obscured by a fog of guilt. But when the waking world starts closing in, too—a murder of crows stalks her every move around the city, she wakes up from a dream of drowning throwing up water, and gets threatening text messages from someone claiming to be Sabrina—Mackenzie knows this is more than she can handle alone. Traveling north to her rural hometown in Alberta, she finds her family still steeped in the same grief that she ran away to Vancouver to escape. They welcome her back, but their shaky reunion only seems to intensify her dreams--and make them more dangerous. What really happened that night at the lake, and what did it have to do with Sabrina's death? Only a bad Cree would put their family at risk, but what if whatever has been calling Mackenzie home was already inside? Title: Let the Great World Spin Author: Colum McCann
Date of Publication: 2009
Country of Origin: Ireland
Pagecount: 349 in TPB; 351 in HC
Goodreads Rating: 3.95 average from 103,281 readers
Genre Tags: Historical Fiction, Literary Fiction
Synopsis: In the dawning light of a late-summer morning, the people of lower Manhattan stand hushed, staring up in disbelief at the Twin Towers. It is August 1974, and a mysterious tightrope walker is running, dancing, leaping between the towers, suspended a quarter mile above the ground. In the streets below, a slew of ordinary lives become extraordinary in bestselling novelist Colum McCann’s stunningly intricate portrait of a city and its people. Let the Great World Spin is the critically acclaimed author’s most ambitious novel yet: a dazzlingly rich vision of the pain, loveliness, mystery, and promise of New York City in the 1970s. Corrigan, a radical young Irish monk, struggles with his own demons as he lives among the prostitutes in the middle of the burning Bronx. A group of mothers gather in a Park Avenue apartment to mourn their sons who died in Vietnam, only to discover just how much divides them even in grief. A young artist finds herself at the scene of a hit-and-run that sends her own life careening sideways. Tillie, a thirty-eight-year-old grandmother, turns tricks alongside her teenage daughter, determined not only to take care of her family but to prove her own worth. Elegantly weaving together these and other seemingly disparate lives, McCann’s powerful allegory comes alive in the unforgettable voices of the city’s people, unexpectedly drawn together by hope, beauty, and the “artistic crime of the century.” A sweeping and radical social novel, Let the Great World Spin captures the spirit of America in a time of transition, extraordinary promise, and, in hindsight, heartbreaking innocence. Hailed as a “fiercely original talent” (San Francisco Chronicle), award-winning novelist McCann has delivered a triumphantly American masterpiece that awakens in us a sense of what the novel can achieve, confront, and even heal. Letters of Recommendation International Relations teacheMUN sponsor - really great, he let me read and edit it, I work with him heavily for MUN and I also got a 100 in his IR class
AP Chinese teacher - didn't read but she spent a lot of time and effort on it, and I have had her as a teacher for 3 years
College Counselor - really eccentric guy, he mentioned to me he wrote heavily on how "meta-cognitive" I come across lol
Lawfirm Internship - read it and it talked heavily about my positive work ethic and my diverse background
Interviews Georgetown - first interview and it occurred legit right after dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Ian so I didn't even have internet to practice interview questions, was in person and went really well. He even texted me after EA decisions to ask me if I got in
Washington & Lee - zoom interview, probably my favorite one so far, we had a really great discussion and it was funny because I was doing it in an office building and the fire alarm went off during it but I persevered
Duke - zoom interview, another good interview, nothing negative to say, interviewer was very friendly and very passionate about his experience from Duke and said he would put in a great word for me
Essays I feel weird about my personal statement because I wrote it 19 different times and really feel like I overthought it, but I don't think it completely sucked. I used a creative format to write about my experience participating in environmental stewardship and activism on a backpacking journey I took on Vancouver Island.
Supplementals I'm not too sure where I stand. I was recycling a lot at the end seeing the amount of schools I applied to, but the material I was recycling was decent enough I felt. I think my best supplementals went to Georgetown, Tufts, and GW.
UC App - I am very curious to see what ends up happening with the UC schools because I did the entire app the night before the deadline. I basically spent 12 am to 3 am doing the 4 essays, and I limited myself to 30 minutes to do each one. Despite that, I actually think my 4 UC essays were the best college essays I wrote. I completely zoned out when writing them and actually had such a genuinely fun time writing them. Due to how late it was, I felt like my true writing voice really shined through, and I didn't sound as polished as I did for some other schools.

Reflection: so I feel so lucky to have been accepted to so many schools and I am currently deciding between Emory and BU (PLEASE give me some advice on what to pick I am truly struggling) and I am going to keep myself on the GW wl because I think it's crucial to be in D.C seeing what I want to study and how networking is super important for that specific job field. Last week I toured BU and Emory + Oxford, and I am just really conflicted on what to pick. Both have a lot of tradeoffs, and I know I'm in a very privileged conundrum, but I'm honestly losing sleep over this choice.
Also, I know the amount of schools I applied to is quite excessive, however at the end of the day I'm really grateful I shotgunned since Emory was a bit of a spur in the moment application for me, and now it's one of my top choices to attend! I never would've thought I actually would get into a school like that, so if attending a highly competitive school is your goal, I say shotgun the hell out of your app if you are able to. College apps are just too random nowadays. I honestly lost so much hope after getting rejected by UF back in February, but I am so surprised and satisfied with how things have turned out. I wish the best to the class of 2027, we made it out alive 🥳
