I did it again, a new Trimps novelization (more faithful to story messages than the other one) Tightniks Run Zero

2024.05.15 05:22 featherwinglove I did it again, a new Trimps novelization (more faithful to story messages than the other one) Tightniks Run Zero

[OC Intro: The game is modded to increase basic jobs cost, seasonal events are disabled. Much of the crash details are based on NASA/SP-2008-565 Columbia Crew Survival Investigation Report recommendations especially Chapter 3 "Occupant Protection".]
The ship is without power, and Tightniks can't run the radar much without draining the batteries. He has only a few minutes of APU power left, goes over the best clearing he can find, and radars it. It varies by only a few feet from the aerodynamic glideslope there. He spots it out on the cameras and circles to go after that spot. He's only at two hundred feet now. With one hand on the stick, he uses the other to open the pressure equalization valve on the side hatch, then at one hundred feet, gets it undogged. Depending on how much damage he's going to get, it's less likely to be stuck closed and trap him. The dynamic vacuum this pulls in the cockpit rips most of the survival pack data cards from that rack and scatters them across the landscape. Crap, I'm gonna need those! Refocusing on surviving the next few seconds, he turns on the radar for the final approach, takes a last look around, then straight ahead at his forward camera and PFD, he clicks his HANS and shoulder strap locks in; after that, he can barely move, but that now is better than dying in this crash with a broken neck. He's a decent pilot and brings up the flare gently. Bringing up the alpha on this delta-winged ship, he balloons a little, but keeps the nose going up and restores a zero aerodynamic sink rate just above the highest terrain indicated by the radar altimeter. The ship bumps a little in the ground effect, and he can see the radar altitude cycling irregularly up and down about five feet at a time. Rougher than it looked from higher up! The body flap protecting the dead engines hits first, and the nose comes rapidly down. It hits, the screens go blank, and Tightniks is surrounded by airbags, some lifting his feet from the rudder petals and his hand from the control stick. It's blinding, it's disorienting, it's noisy, and, to his relief, it's long! It takes several seconds before the crashing cockpit stops moving. How many times did he flip over? Did he go sideways and roll? Am I rightside up? Are we really stopped on the ground? The airbags deflate, and he can move his arms. He gets his restraints loose and inspects himself. "Uck!" he says out loud (without the 'f'). No broken bones. His pressure suit can take his blood pressure. 116/81, pulse 112, blood oxygen 99 reads off on his left arm, I'll friggin' take it!
The ship is amazingly intact from what he can tell. He can't get any readings. The systems test meter seems to be working, but can't find any voltages anywhere. The ship seems to be completely dead. Behind him, 10 passenger seats are all surrounded by airbags and the back of the cabin ends in some sort of dirt-and-gravel and there's a bit of daylight seeping in around the edges. He was the only one on board, though, so their deployment was mostly academic (they might have stiffened the structure a little during the crash, but that's probably trivial.) Tightniks gets out of his spacesuit. The air on this planet is actually breathable. He gets the hatch open, steps outside and-
"A green shimmer erupts then disappears, and you hit the ground."
The human emerges from the glowing green mist and hits the ground. Groans. Pushes against that ground, trying to get back up. Where am I? What's my name? I remember nothing. Aren't babies born naked? He's got a dark blue button-down shirt on. A uniform? A shoulder patch. Gets up, looks around. I feel really heavy. I'm not that fat, am I? He picks up a small stone from the ground, this also feels heavier than it should. He rises to his feet and holds it out somewhat (he's unable to fully extend his arm) and lets it go. The stone hits the ground near his feet quickly and with remarkable speed. It's the gravity, it's greater than it is on- ...where am I from? This is- ...not my home planet? "Oooh..."
"Ka?" it says.
What is that? It's cute, at least.
It is not tame. He has no hope of catching it on foot. The creature seems to like the berries. Maybe if I gather some of those into one place and set some kind of trap...
33s: First trap.
I got one! The human lumbers up to the trap and gets the catch open. Do you bite? It doesn't matter much to me; I'm so friggin' screwed.
It doesn't. It looks at the human with a sense of wonder, actually. A blink and tilt of the head. Seems almost to be asking, Is it you? My purpose? My savior? Once out of the trap, which is totally wrecked, he has to make a new one from scratch, it follows him around like a imprinted hatchling bird.
Wiry little fella, you are. You're going to need some bulking up to do anything useful. The- ...'trimp', I guess... The trimp seems just barely able to feed itself. The human lets him into the broken ship's intact cabin, and it curls up comfortably in a passenger seat for a nap.
1m03s: Second trap.
"Apparently the Trimps breed if they're not working. Doesn't look pleasant."
What are they doing?
The trimps appear to be androgynous, and these two have paired off in the back of the ship. They're holding something carefully within a few hours, feeding it berries, grass, and- ...corundum.
Corundum?? Whatever that is, it isn't a baby.
1m35s: Third trap.
Only it IS a baby! The third trimp he trapped immediately joined the other two in raising it. They have a strange diet of food the human has found compatible with his own body, but they also eat rocks! They're careful to crush and sort aluminate minerals from silcate ones and only eat aluminate. Actually, they don't eat aluminate, they're only feeding it to the baby.
2m06s: Fourth trap.
All four are raising the same child, who is just starting to toddle. It seems these fellas have alumina or maybe even aluminum bones. The human takes a nap and wakes to find the first child grown up and they're starting to raise a second child, all five of them.
2m46s: Huts.
The human found a working bit of electronics. He calls it a pad, but maybe it's more like a smartphone. It has plans for two residential structures. The first, the smaller one, he can build right away, but the second one needs something called "drywall", and he has to figure out how to make that before he can build it. Huts and houses, apparently.
3m13s: 10 pop, full, first farmer.
The trimp he trained to farm and make paper took an incredible 50 units of food to get bulked up to do the work, and now it's not participating in rearing the child. But less than an hour after the trimp started farming and pulping, the child was out on its own, and the trimps did not start another. The ten seats on the ship were all full. Well, eleven counting the one up front that the human sleeps in. The pilot starts exploring the area.
3m28s: Battle.
Wait, what are you do-
The hostile roars and charges at the human, but one of his trimps jumps in front of him with a stick and they fight. It started right when the human got far enough away from the ship that the hostile non-trimps away from the ship began to regard him as leaving his own territory. After the trimp defeats the first enemy, it continues after other hostiles.
3m53s: Shield I in Z1c5.
The human is easily able to recover the loot in the territory cleared by the fighting trimp. Then he sees something glinting in the- That can't be! What the heck is that? It's a data card that fits his pad. It quite clearly regards trimp combat. He gets it loaded into his pad and studies it. I can do this, it just takes some wood. He returns to the ship to discover that they had already started on a new child before the fighter had even expired in battle. The human concentrates on his research.
4m38s: Mskel in Z1c11 defeated.
The remains of this one seem rather white and shiny. It's titanium! This enemy had titanium bones! He'll store them away. They'll be useful someday, I'm sure.
5m52s: Dagger I in Z1c20.
Where are these data cards coming from? The human wonders as he loads this one into his pad, It's for a weapon it calls a dagger. He blinks. I don't know what a dagger is. I'll take your word for it, data card. Needs metal. He has gathered some, but ore is plentiful. He can just dig and smelt it whenever he wants. For now, I'll continue researching.
6m18s: Arable in Z1c21.
It's an old cave that trimps like to live in. Why weren't they able to live there before? How could these friendly critters be confined to only the exact spot where THAT thing, he looks back where he came from, not remembering that he piloted the wrecked ship to its current resting place, crashed? This is really strange. I'll let them fill up this cave before advancing further. Wait, what about defenses? The hostiles never try to reclaim territory that they've lost, so he stops worrying about that fairly quickly.
8m22s: First hut is 0.3% first ever AP.
The trimps seem fairly easy to please in terms of living quarters. Two move into his first hut and start raising a child. The human has his tent, uniform, and the heater pilfered from his space suit. Not much of a mud fan.
9m59s: Miners in Z1c30.
Oh, what's on this data card? Sl3niw? Oh, I'm holding the pad upside down. Miners. I can teach trimps how to mine ores and smelt met- 200 units of food? Each job is getting more expensive to train a trimp for. He puts his bee nickels to his eyes and spots another data card probably 10 enemies away. "Sc"? Does that means science? I can teach trimps to do science??
13m57s: Scientists in Z1c40.
Due to the expense of training trimps, the human couldn't afford to build them shields until now, he's got Sh1-3 made for the fighter to capture the science training data card. 14m02s: One head went into that turtlimp shell, that of his fighter, but two came out: his fighter still has his head on, and he managed to get the turtlimp's head off. It rushes off after the deadly penguimp in the next cell. The shields are not doing all that much good, actually, but they're better than nothing. The human picks up and loads the science data card and- Holy runny sugar-free fudge crap! 1000 food units, but it'll endow them with the ability to speak. Good. I'm getting bored with no one to talk to.
14m28s: Bloodlust purchased and AutoFight enabled (that delay after getting it is an effect of jacking up the job cost.)
As the human buries this expired little trimp warrior, he comes to the sobering realization that he has more trimp graves in his growing trimp colony than he does live trimps. And yet they seem more hopeful now than before I got to know any of them. They seem to think I'm the solution to all their problems or- Those two look east somberly, then notice that he's watching them and smile back and wave at him. ...one problem that is specific, but very, very huge for them. [The only reason I say 'east' is because that's right on a map, and the game advances right across a row, then up. I might say 'northeast' on occasion for that reason.]
20m47s: Z1c73, Miners taken.
Are you my new mining foreman? The trimp who took to the mining training has dark brown fur that lays flat on its head. It's unusual in not having any bits that stick out from its head, ahoge or whatever. This one is relatively quiet, and while it has assimilated the mining and smelting knowledge, it needs to bulk up to do any mining. Smelting is relatively easy, and getting a strong natural draft going in a furnace is almost trivial with the increased gravity. This trimp builds furnaces like nothing. And likes to nap in holes it digs right on the spot; it's weird that way. [Puchim@s Yukipo, and furnaces are not explicit in Trimps.]
21m58s: Farming in Z1c80.
The resourcing "books" are not data cards but paper scrolls, apparently lost to the trimps. It seems that they were civilized in the recent past and some calamity swept over the planet to reduce them to this. Did I have something to do with it? Amnesia sucks harder than a Dyson- ...what's a Dyson? Whatever, it sucks. This disaster happening just before I crash in the only spot with trimps still alive would be a seriously crazy coincidence! Something is really, really wrong about all this. [The author has not sought or received product placement permission or fee from Dyson Technology Ltd. or any resellers of their stuff, just they literally suck balls and made my favorite vacuum cleaner.]
23m50s: Builder in Z1c90.
They've rescued an, I dunno, gelding trimp? It just started to build a shed around the piled lumber I left to build one. It's really slow compared to me, and just banged its thumb, but it is super cute with that long reddish head fur. That particular trimp is also fascinated with pink ribbons and likes to decorate its head fur with them. Because of its inherent inability to participate in rearing children, it isn't counted in the population. [Puchim@s Io, builder on the basis of Iori seen building in 1x10.]
26m02s: Zone 2, 44 pop, 5.5s RC with Z0/1.
It's some sort of tactical manual - tactical coordination. Coordination! He's starting to sort out some trimpese on the research he has done so far. It needs a lot of metal, so they won't be able to implement it for some time. Hopefully, they're still good one at a time, but these enemies seem to be getting bigger as we go along. Uh oh!
27m33s: Gym in Z2c5.
It's some sort of training dojo or sporting arena. The human examines the ruins, I think I can back-engineer drawings for this, get one built, and see what happens.
29m02s: 1g, 47 pop, 10.8s RC with Z1/2.
The two fighting trimps now with their gym and coordination are dodging and blocking enthusiastically, and making much faster ground against the bad guys then a little while ago when it was just one trimp fighting at a time and unable to avoid the enemy hitting back.
40m46s: Fresh turkimp in Z2c74, 63 pop, 7.9s RC, Sh1-10, Da1-5, Bo1-3, Ma1-3, Hm1-3, 6g.
Oh, wow, the laborers seem really hot after this turkimp. He cooks it up and tries a slice. It's really awesome! I have to work alongside his laboring trimps to share it, but I'm getting used to the gravity now. That scroll we found back in Z2c10 really helped. Trimps' techniques and appliances for handicapped individuals, and I'm really handicapped in this higher gravity. He joins the woodcutters with the turkimp; they're the most numerous resource laborer right now, building more gyms, enough that the block/dodge ability of the fighting trimps is almost caught up to the enemy's ability to cause damage.
43m15s: Zone 3, 63 pop, 7.9s RC with Z1/2.
I'm neglecting my science and trimp scientists are really expensive. Curiously, that grey-haired one can't speak all that well, only says "Tai" and "Shijou", but it can write and draw like nobody's business. It's the only scientist so far. [Puchim@s Takanya: Online references probably still claim that she can utter the first two syllables of any word, but she can actually utter only the first two kana syllables of someone's name, most often the given name of basis human Takane Shijou, who also has that habit. (All the utterances of the puchidoru are based on the speech foibles of their basis humans except maybe Piyopiyo, where I haven't seen anything match up so far.)]
47m32s: Finally, we can make drywall and houses. 59m30s: Z3c77, 94 pop, 7.8s RC.
Oh, those poor things are really struggling up at the front. These trimps are enthusiastic and know no fear, but I still feel like telling them to stop for a while. I don't have the heart to keep them from trying while they're still doing some damage.
1h05m24s: Zone 4, 107 pop, 9.3s RC with Z3/4. 1h15m26s: Zone 5, 120 pop, 8.2s RC with Z3/4.
"What is that?" the human asks. He has three scientists. His first does all the writing, but the other two can actually speak. One of them hops up on a rock spire beside the human to reach his eye level.
At the next ridge line, over the lowest and most passable gap in the terrain, this really mean looking hovering sausage monster.
"I dunno," the scientist trimp shrugs, "But it's making me hungry. Looks like a perfectly cooked frankfurter from here." [John Morell's dubious dirigibles.]
"Oh, yeah," the human nods, "that's a blimp."
"A blimp?" the trimp tilts its head quizzically at the human, "How could you know?"
"I wish I could tell you, little buddy," the human extends his arm braces to descend the pass on the side of the zone boundary in the boss enemy's direction, then grunts, "Let's go kill it."
1h16m11s: Z1c9, 120 pop, 10.3s RC with Z4/5. 1h33m34s: Zone 6, 151 pop, 7.4s RC with Z4/5.
1h33m54s: TP in Z1c3.
"What's this?" the human asks, having picked up the little square document with the curling corners.
"Oh," the hungry scientist looks at it, "It's a garden path, follow me."
"You want to lead me down the garden path?" the human says.
"Yeah," the scientist says.
"Are you kidding?" the human asks.
"No," says the other scientist, "We don't get human humor. Listen, these fighters can't go, let them wear themselves out here, then we'll take the next group through this garden."
"Okay," the human nods, watching two more trimps join the fray as he issues the Z5 coordination orders, "they're doing pretty well after all that block training research we just wrapped up." [That's a common artifact, even in normal games, Z5 Traintacular combines with many gyms, enough population to add several trainers, affording Blockmaster, which is expensive on a run zero, plus a break on Tion Z5, a 40% all-stat increase. I don't think Zach designed it into the game on purpose, it just worked out this way.]
1h34m07s: 151 pop, 10.5s RC with Z5/7. 1h37m44s: Drop from Z6c39, TP for 3.
"Now we have these access map frags we can use to route through the old trimpopoli," the scientist explains, "Atlimpis for food, Morimpa for gems, Everimp for metal, and Impazon for wood."
"What about the garden?" the human asks.
"Well, we got lucky with Tricky Paradise," the scientist says, "but you can randomize the route and maybe get lucky. What's with that look?"
"Somehow, I'm remembering 'frag' as something that blew up with deadly pieces," the human says. [Different video games - ones with better graphics and worse gameplay O(>▽<)O]
1h39m59s: Blues back up to the top on series I...
"Tai, Tai!" the first ever trimp scientist stops the human just before he upgrades the mace and dagger to Mk.6 and Mk. 8 respectively. It has a note for him.
"Why do you keep calling me that?" the human asks, "Do you think that's my name?"
"Shijou, Shijou," it nods as though to indicate, I KNOW it is. Then it proffers its note again. The human takes it and reads, "Don't upgrade the first row equipment right now."
"Why not?" the human asks.
"Shijou," it points at the end of the mapped route, where there's a scroll sticking out of the thistles.
2h24m07s: Zone 8, 224 pop, 12.2s RC with Z7/12.
"Your settlement is getting crowded, there's Trimps in the streets, and you're taking heat. You feel a sudden strong desire to create a map, though you're not quite sure how that would help."
2h49m10s: Zone 9, 357 pop, 9.5s RC with Z8/15.
"You can't shake the feeling that you've been here before. Déjà-vu?"
The trimps really seem to like the new high capacity mansions, and the village has rapidly expanded since they started building them.
"There's something familiar about this," the human says.
"Tai," the grey one that writes clings to his arm and shows him a note that says, "Don't give up now."
"We must persist," says the yellow one has found a foothold it can grab onto and grabs the human's shoulder gently, "If you give up to early, we'll never solve this. You'll be stuck here forever."
The human puts his hand over the trimp's paw on his shoulders, then looks at him, "I can die, too."
"No, you can't," the trimp says quietly, "Please don't test that, tall one."
"Death is just another path..." he remembers.
"Gan," the grey one squeaks. [That's the first two kana syllables of "Gandalf"]
"...one that we all must take," the human continues, "The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it-"
"A green mist," the yellow trimp interrupts, "flash of fire, we're all gone and our progress forgotten. The wandering stars return to that day, and you again crash that ship- ...a little better every time."
"Wait," the human looks around, "have I been here before?"
"I-" the yellow trimp tries in futility to share what little it knows, "...or... somebody got just a little coolant into the-"
"Into the what?"
"This side up," the grey one's note says.
"Into the that," the yellow one points at the note, "It really helped. You- ...I don't think we've ever had mansions before."
Well, of course they didn't have mansions before. That was one of my ship's data cards. How did it get way out here? Will anything start to make sense?
3h02m13s: Zone 10, 387 pop, 8.7s RC with Z8/15; '28s: 11.1s RC with Z9/19. 3h16m41s: Tough snimp after food book, L10 rand dept from lo-hi-med 118/25/96, 4 Items.
"That's twice our frags led us to gem-rich Moria," the human says.
"Morimpa," the new red trimp scientist corrects, there now being 5 scientists. [There'd be more if there were more turkimp.]
"The question is how do we use all these gems?" the human looks at the village zoning plans again, "I like those mansions and all, but they use hardly any gems compared to, well-" he gestures at the pile of over two dozen thousand gems they've gathered, "-that! And still a lot of wood and lumber."
"I think there's something," the yellow one sighs, "I wish I knew more."
Quite some time later, after they're done looting that route for equipment plans, the trimps are again advancing through Zone 10, and he hears it.
"Tai?" the grey one wonders.
"Where are you going?" the yellow one asks.
"To the farm," the human answers.
"Whatever for?" the red one seems exasperated.
"Shijou?" the grey one sighs, then looks at the fighting front. It's been around long enough to remember, "Shijou!"
"You guys already get so much to eat this doesn't do you much good," the human explains.
3h32m33s: L11 112/35/78 rand sea, dropped from Z11c6 with disband, 4.
"What's wrong?" the red one asks.
The human comforts one of the wounded. Once trimps start into a zone fight, they have to finish before they bleed out. He's really bothered making them desert in front of that second turkimp. "They had a lot left in them," he sighs, rubbing his eyes, "but we can't keep that much dead turkimp at once, we have to leave it alive to use up all of this one."
"Shijou," the grey one presents a note, "We need this map right away, anyway. Don't worry about it, Tightniks."
"Tightniks?" he looks at the grey one, "Is that me? How do you know?"
"Tai," the grey one points at the top of the human's left breast pocket.
"Ah, crud," the yellow one curls its tail around in front of itself as trimps do when they're embarrassed, "Is that really a name tag?"
The human hadn't even noticed it since the green flash blew up his memory as he was stepping out of the ship.
4h04m22s: Block (sub-8h AP is only 0.3%), taking it, 504 pop, 9.8s RC with Z10/24.
It's a pretty thick book about using shields for block instead of hit points. The pad has the stats analysis. Sh3-1 is only giving us 9% of our hit points. Turning to his trimp scientists, he says, "It seems to me to be worth it."
"Let's," the yellow one nods.
"Shijou," it hands him a note, "It scales badly, but that won't matter for a long time. I think there's a way to undo it before it matters."
"Doing it." The human takes out his pad and starts scanning.
4h29m05s: L14 rand moun 137/26/80 is really good for a lo-hi-med. 4h30m52s: Hotels.
"Ah," the yellow one says, "I knew there was something. That must be it."
5h08m09s: L15 lo-hi-hi rand gard 129/28/82 (just got explorers). 5h09m32s: Picked up Wall.
"Dam," the human says.
"Damn?" the red one chuckles.
"No," the human says, "Earthen wall dam; it's a thing that makes artificial lakes by holding rivers back."
"Lakes?" the yellow one asks, "Rivers?"
"Oh yeah," the human says, "This planet doesn't have enough rain for those..."
5h48m21: Leaving Wall from about c70 to fetch Tion Z15.
"You can't resume the map from the same point if you start another," the human reads the grey one's note.
"We can go back to the same point on that route if we hold there and finish Zone 15, right?" Tightniks asks.
"Shijou!" it seems to be saying yes.
"Yes," the yellow one adds, "but we're out of Series III upgrades, and you need a fresh map route to start up Series IV."
"We should be okay," Tightniks says, "but if we have to start it over, I don't see that being a big deal." As they advance through the rest of Zone 15, Tightniks resumes his usual duties at the research desk instead building and running traps like he was before.
The trimps seem hopeful at this decision.
5h49m10s: Fresh turkimp. 5h50m16s: Zone 16, 1071 pop, 13.4s RC with Z15/75, 13m43s turkimp (skel in c1.)
"Z:16 Seriously? Another Blimp so soon?"
"So," Tightniks lowers his bee nickels and looks at the red one, "is it going to be boss fights at the end of every zone from now on?"
"Hmm," the red trimp looks up past the human at some random rock spire or cloud.
"Well?" the human persists.
"Yup," he says.
"Hmph," Tightniks grabs a Sw3-1 of the rack and advances towards the front, "Before then, we have another Mister Titanium."
"What does he like about skeletimps?" the red one asks the grey one as the human marches off.
"Shijou?" the grey one seems just as confused by that.
"He's not going back to the ship, and he's not getting himself killed," the yellow one smiles, "so I'll take it."
5h58m32s...
"Hey guys, go for the mortar!" the human suggests to his 75 fighting trimps in the Wall's boss fight.
"I can tell from your bedtime stories that you're used to the artillery in that other place," the yellow one gripes, "but fighting works differently here, there's no artillery."
And the human instantly collapses laughing, the scientists a little worried he might have injured himself in the planet's severe gravity. But he's okay, at least physically, "Mortar is the stuff between the bricks, fellas. That's is a brickimp, right?"
5h59m18s: Wall, 1076 pop, 13.3s RC, 1% AP for sub-8h finish, first L16 roll good 156/35/84 moun, 10 for the metal.
Beyond the Wall was a more edenic section of the trimpolis ruins, doubling the production of the lumberjacks. The trimps are actually really happy with the mode of all of the laborers moving between the three big jobs, along with the turkimp, except for the foremen specialized at leading the job. It isn't enough to boost their productivity, but the human goes to them with trays of sandwiches.
6h06m52s: 50 map run 0.3% AP...
6h19m13s: Zone 17, 1141 pop, 16.0s RC with Z16/94, no turkimp.
"Z:17 You climb a large cliff and look out over the new Zone. Red dirt, scorched ground, and devastation. Is that a Dragimp flying around out there?!"
"Hmm," the human surveys the new zone with his bee nickels, "Looks like crap. Any ideas?"
"You're the idea man," the yellow one groans.
"Set the map flag," he puts his bee nickels away, "We'll run a depth for practice and to load up on gems for more hotels."
"Righto," the red one gets to work.
6h44m34s: First DCP. (Draglimp Care Package; I refuse to call it a tribute.)
"Oh," the human says, "It's tame now, so it brings back gems in exchange for food?" He looks at his gaping scientists, "That's what it looks like, huh? Guys? Yo!"
"Tai..." the grey one sighs.
Draglimp, the dragimp imprinted on Tightniks, lands beside the human, drops some gems at his feet, and accepts some scratching behind its horns before diving into the food bowl.
"You tamed a dragimp???" Grey's note says.
"Well," the yellow one huffs, "I guess that happened."
8h18m53s: L20 depth of 154/27/79.
"Mapping up here?" the red one half closes one eye and tilts his head.
"Yeah," the human says while fitting together the depth map fragments, "With the coordination book not right at the end, we have an extra mark of coordination to take advantage of. Let's take our housing up to 2000 or so, shall we?"
"Okay," the yellow one says from a pile of logs, "What's all the wood for?" They had been collecting it for days now.
"The series upgrades follow a rather specific pattern," Tightniks explains, "Just on the other side of this blimp is Zone 21, where we should be able to find the Shield series V, right?"
"Shijou!" the grey one nods.
8h56m17s: 1% AP for 100 map runs, leaving it, 1751 pop, 24.8s RC with Z20/232. 8h56m54s: Zone 21...
"Ooooookay," Tightniks growls, "There is something off about this thing."
"Shijou?" the grey one looks at the yellow one with concern about their human starship pilot friend.
The human stoops, picks up the little green gem on the ridge between Zone 20 and 21, looks at it, huffs, and asks, "Any idea where this comes from?"
"Err..." the red one seems hesitant to say, "I think you made it."
"Really?" the human huffs, "How could that be?" Then he tosses it at Red, "See if anything reacts to it. It might be radioactive, so we should take turns to minimize exposure."
"Really?" Red's holding it now, "What makes you say that?"
"Because I'm pissed off for no reason I can figure out," the human says, "I think it's coming from that."
"Frags," the red one says quickly, "I think it's arranging a route. You're good with maps," it tosses the gem to the grey scientist.
"Shijou," the grey one says hopefully, and has a map drawn within a few minutes. [Whether it looks like the one in Puchim@s 1x61 is anyone's guess. That one annoyed me as well as Chihya.]
9h02m37s: L21 moun first roll was a decent 160/26/84. 9h21m00s: Starting run 5 of that map...
Tightniks had taken his anger out on some food and wood to build about 8000 traps. Now he's leaning against a rock spire in his increasingly tattered uniform. A nap begins, perhaps unintentionally.
Wild trimps are examining the pile, finding it unwelcoming, and also finding no place in the town, just mill about. It looks like they want to help.
"Ku?" it's a blue trimp, probably a farmer waiting for stuff to grow, climbs up on the rock spire the human is leaning against, starts patting him on the head, "Ku. Ku ku." [Puchim@s Chihya.]
9h23m09s: Still working that lap...
Tightniks wakes up from that nap, and the grey one is standing there. "Shijou," it says with a note of concern, although not much of one. The note it holds says, "It wasn't me."
"Oh, what wasn't you, buddy?" He stretches out a bit, feeling somewhat refreshed. It feels like somebody washed his face and hair while he was sleeping.
The grey one is also holding a small mirror, apparently broken off from a larger mirror and with the sharp edges filed down to make the edges safe.
The human takes it from the grey trimp and holds it in front of his face to discover that somebody has bound up all his hair into about twenty little pigtails. He touches them with his other hand to confirm. "Eh, whatever." He hands the mirror back and goes back to sleep. [Puchim@s Koamimami.]
9h30m08s: The following run...
"He's not throwing stuff every which way yet," the yellow one whispers to the red one, watching the human snoozing with his pad on his knee.
"You remember that, too?" the red one asks.
"'Remember'?" the yellow one turns to face the red one, "I s'pose that's better than imagining it."
"I remember it, too," the grey one says via a playing card sized note.
"If we're stuck in a time loop," the yellow one sighs, "maybe this cycle will be different."
"Tai..." the grey one admires him for a moment. Then thumbs in the direction of the mountain, "Heh, Shijou!" it laughs.
9h35m58s: Run 8, c9 of that map.
The scientists nap and take notes, and meditate and take notes, and draw stuff. The grey one often storyboards for the other nine because it's the best at drawing stuff. They have come up with a list, and most probably "order" (they're debating whether their ranking means "order" (sequence of things happening over the various loops) or "frequency" (what proportion of previous loops they have happened in). But they've come up with this, from first (or perhaps most often) to most recent (or perhaps least often):
- The ship crashes (they're pretty sure that happens every loop) - The human builds huts - The human teaches some of his trimps to speak and do science - The human builds houses - The human makes maps - The human builds mansions - The human blows up and gets himself killed somewhere around Z17 to Z21, often on a dragimp - The human only recently/occasionally builds hotels - The human only recently/rarely tamed a dragimp - The human only recently/rarely maps the Dimension of Anger
They're all agreed that that they have never finished the Dimension of Anger. What they are not all agreed on is that they've never done this conference to figure out whether they're in a time loop or what that might mean. [See also Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Cause and Effect" ...which was sort of a time loop but they weren't going back in time. It's very interesting, but its meta makes no sense - no one ever went looking for the Bozeman in 80 years? No one who went looking for the Bozeman also got stuck? No one noticed the passage of time outside the little area of space where the not-quite-a-time-loop was happening? Errr... sci-fi writers, don't be half-assed about your time loops, lmao! Be like Harold Ramis- ...what am I saying?? (That would be Groundhog Day, which grafted a time loop into a romcom; there are no other sci-fi elements. But it was a full-blown time loop and not half-assed like "Cause and Effect".)]
9h54m06s: Dropped from Z21c95...
I think it would be a bad idea to bypass that green area, as much as I'd rather not face it. Both his domesticated trimps, which are breeding up a new group of fighters, and the wild trimps he has decided just now not to open the traps for, stare at him and point in that direction. He shoulders a huge Shield V-3 and grabs an Mace IV-2 as well and announces, "We're doing it." Thus equipped, he marches off into the Dimension of Anger.
10h27m53s: Taking Pi4-2; recently had taken Pa4-2...
The group at the front had expired, and the snimp in DoAc95 glares at the advancing colony of trimps, which had halted only because of it. It refuses to counterattack the vulnerable colony and its human, instead snorting and huffing, waiting for the next bunch of 232 fighting trimps to come in range.
Tightniks runs along the line of traps, releasing the recently tamed trimps, singing a song that he doesn't remember the meaning of, that he doesn't remember was crafted by an ethnically Chinese guy out of an African language, and later mastered by two caucasians over the internet before they ever met in person. "Baba yetu yetu uliye, mbinguni yetu yetu amina..." because it just happened to be stuck in his head. [Because the Doylian author decided on a whim to. Christopher Tin got it into Civilization IV and at the time (2010 July), I made the best video for it on YouTube, which got subsequently blown to shreds when Peter Hollens and Malukah re-recorded the song from scratch in their own voices and instruments in 2014, pity with no English translation, the purpose of my video.]
Noticing the last batch of metal he needs coming out of the furnace, he waves the waiting grey scientist to fire up the forge [to use the term properly and not as the game does], for it was time to wrap up the forging dies for the Spetum IV, Mark 2 pike heads.
"Shijou!" the grey one cheers, setting aside a snack that looks like maybe ramen, and starts jumping up and down on the bellows handle.
It takes a while for the human to chip out the tip in the two halves of the forging die, and then polish it, and then heat it up in the forge, and then quench it, inspect it, and put it into service crafting thousands of new pike heads for the fighting trimps.
But only one second passed on the map frame clock (10h27m54s) four cells behind that snimp, in the case being brooded over by this huge, and if it's honest, rather concerned megablimp.
10h35m45: Portal PB, 45 He, 4.247 He/hr, 1891 pop, 22.7s RC with Z20/232, no turkimp.
The last head of the map's boss monster goes limp as one of the fighting trimps' mace heads bounces of it, and the huge thing settles on its tail, resting on the package that seems to be the prize of this map. And there's a popping sound, and then something mechanical.
Is that a scroll compressor? Tightniks looks at the package. The deflating monster's lifting envelope material drapes over everything underneath it. "Red, Shijou!" he snaps and points, "roll up that side of it. Keep this part from sucking down on the extractor nozzle!"
All ten of the scientists jump in, literally, pushing the gas in the bag towards the compressor. Tightniks as well, rolling up the front.
Until he kicks, and nearly trips over, a smaller package that might be the explanation for the reason why the center of the monster's defense seemed to be a little away from the big package he could see. It's in the right place, he realizes. He gets it uncovered and reads stenciled-and-sprayed block letters on it:
"DT TIME PORTAL / THIS SIDE DOWN"
Perhaps the Dimension of Anger is so named because of the rage suddenly rising up in Tightniks' throat. It isn't so much as the free-floating aggression suddenly has an answer, there is definitely a fresh batch of rage and anger as he grips the nearest Mace IV, Mark 3 with both hands and gets it over his shoulder, its target obviously this object, anger at the realization he screams at the top of his lungs, "We are stuck in a mutha FAH-king time loop!!" His swing begins. [Tightniks almost never cusses, unlike Snugniks.]

Hello.
My Story
I worked for an Auto Company. My plant closed in 2008. Despite us having a guarantee to have a product line until 2011. This was made when we ratified our most recent contract first. The company decided to close us down to keep a Right to work factory open in Texas, and a plant outside the country in Mexico. And then came begging for handouts from Congress.
I had to move to a new plant in 2010. You had people from all over at this plant. Some from a nearby city had "city" mafia shirts printed. New people didn't know the story. Our union negotiated for us to get money when we needed to move. These people had the goal to shut this place down to get more money to move. Yeah, I know.
After a year or two. I noticed a strange trend. You had all these young, attractive women on jobs they should not have. I noticed one running around with a repair stamp and bypass key she should not have had. Management was showing her how to hack into the computer with someone else's login to mark defects as repaired.
This is a huge violation of our quality policy. Not to mention our ISO obligations to sell product overseas.
I turned the proof of the stamp being used to mark defects on the Matrix/Manifest, to my Alternate Union Rep. But found out later it was his stamp. So it vanished. Much like his duty to represent the membership. Before this blew up. You have union people who could not get moved to jobs they posted. As the contract demands. Because someone's girlfriend appeared to be camped out on a easy job. When they finally did get moved. Many quit on the spot.
In the fall out of this scandal. It seemed the Assistant Plant Manager was shoved out the backdoor. My boss was moved out of management into Engineering. One boss was removed and sent back to work for the union. Story was he was sleeping with one of his Team Leaders Wife. A Business Manager was moved back in to management. And he was replaced with 3 people. One for each shift instead of one for whole department.
Later on, I think they were starting it up again. And there were other quality issues. My health started to go bad. I lost my Gallbladder. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto Syndrome, meaning my Thyroid was losing function. But after I lost my job due to health issues. The symptoms changed. I no longer seemed to need 4 or 5 meds I had been taking. I still have health issues. But I think it's from what I was must have been drugged with and the meds fighting it.
I am trying to stream to earn a living. It's probably just a fool's errand to keep me busy while my health seems to get worse. But trying to get the word out. In hopes, it doesn't happen again.
I could really use the help. To spread this word.

2024.05.10 06:15 instant_klassic Suspension lift comparison: OME vs Toytec/Bilstein

I recently acquired a 2010 AT with 100k mi. I'd like to upgrade the suspension and get ~3" of lift in the process. I'm trying to balance quality, performance, low maintenance, and cost. Not a daily driver--mainly a mountain rig to crawl around on gnarly old high elevation two tracks exploring. Not running the Baja 1k, but would be nice to knock the edge off some washboard.
These three OME kits seem sweet:
https://metaltech4x4.com/old-man-emu-2010-4runner-and-fj-cruiser-3-inch-lift-kit-heavy-load/
https://store.arbusa.com/mt64-heavy-kit-mt64fjc4rh/
https://store.arbusa.com/heavy-suspension-lift-kit-with-bp-51-bypass-shocks-omefjc10hkbp51/
(Don't know if I need heavy...don't plan to add much other than a rear bumper and a flat roof rack to sit on)
As does this Toytec kit:
https://www.toyteclifts.com/ul-fj210-2010-fj-cruiser-4runner-ultimate-3-lift-package.html
Does anyone have experience with these? Similarities/differences, advantages/disadvantages? I'd like to go to 34s (285/75/17?) if possible. I would say these are at the upper end of my desired cost, but would do ucas if they seem essential. I'm also hoping to try to do the work myself. thanks!

2024.05.09 23:34 Odd-Ladder-5462 Audi issues

Audi issues
I got an 2010 Audi A5 Quattro 2.0T (approx. 205,000) a few months ago, it ran pretty good but you could hear a little miss fire, coolant was leaking due to an improper replacement for a heater core hose, and just a little whistle, the manifold had a bypass on it where the PCV connects, which I thought was because of the broken clasp on the hose itself and they were just too lazy to replace it. I replaced the heater core hose and the PCV hose which required me to take the bypass off the manifold, but now my engine sounds horrible. Like inceronng move and it’s gonna die, which isn’t far off. I went and got the engine read, and now instead of one misfire I have one… on all four cylinders. I’m getting reads of no activity on the oxygen and temp./air flow, etc. I’m waiting for a new Genuine or OEM crankcase PCV pump replaced, but I’m not sure if it’d be better to just save up the money and get the engine rebuilt or if I can slowly rebuild it myself. The guy we bought it from was also using a yellow/orange coolant instead of the dtanfanrd pink/violet, so I know I’ll need a system flush, just unsure if I should do it before or after I get the parts put on, since I’ve heard people say to do both. I only have it titled, so I’m trying to avoid towing it in for a complete inspection until I have everything small repleaced that I can do myself, just a little lost on what my next step should be. Below is all the codes.

2024.05.09 12:35 GRIMlOCK_ON_ROIDS A serious discussion about Drug testing!

Hello all my MC friends, a close friend just lost his license due to THC positive roadside, which was confirmed, and he will probably lose his job for this. He usually followed strict routines but due to a relationship breakdown he has been very lazy lately, hence, he is now fucked!
The following I posted in response to another thread about drug testing, I think it is important for those of us who need to support our families to take every step necessary to avoid testing hot, for impairment. I am too lazy to repeat myself so I will just copy and paste what I commented, you don't have to like the information, but I assure you all it is about as accurate as we may get in here. There are 2 comments, I am as medicated now as I was when I wrote it so if it doesn't flow, just absorb what you can if you wish.
*THIS IS A LONG READ BUT IMO ALL MC USERS SHOULD READ!*
There are so many variable's in drug testing that I rarely try to assist people on here, at least in an open post. I have been working for Correctional services for 21 years, when I was an Officer, the record for metabolites in Urine that I personally seen all evidence off zero usage since cessation was 94 days. Before being admitted into prison this dude was eating cannabutter from wake to sleep and was inhaling approximately 5 grams of bush weed a day. I admitted him and for differing reasons he was kept separate from other prisoners in that time, was under surveillance 24hrs and all visitors were pat searched, scanned and often had the dogs there to have them in the sniff line. This man did not consume THC in that entire period.
Being tall/short and skinny definitely increases your chances of removing THC from your fat cells quicker. Being 5"8 and 95kgs like myself makes it a lot harder for me to remove metabolites fast. People will come up with all sorts of dumb shit that they heard from a friend or whatever but in 2024 the testing procedures and technologies can now detect things such as bleach and many other adulterants so the 100% honest answer is there is no way of quickly detoxing your body when urine testing is involved. Exercising, diet, eliminating THC, water intake definitely speed up the process but unfortunately time is the only 100% fix here.
A lot of companies now will have you do a Urine test to gain employment, then likely utilize Saliva tests once employed as these tests indicate impairment, unlike Urine, which only exposes you for having consumed over the recent month or more. Saliva testing is also considered cheaper, fairer and less invasive. I have performed literally at least 5,000 Saliva tests and have had to follow-up on the results and take appropriate action on each.
Saliva tests can be an MC users best friend, but also, our worst enemy without precautions. Saliva tests are specifically aiming at any remanent of active THC within your oral cavity. I use approx 1-1.5gs a night both in joints and through my Mighty plus, I have almost no concerns in the morning if tested roadside or at work as my methods are unquestionable after the amount of time ive put in researching and testing myself and everyone else, I feel free to use MC without it impacting me at all during the day.
My method for passing every Saliva test for THC are as follows:
Give at a very minimum 8-10 hours between last usage. Less can work but the risk is always higher unless swallowing capsules therefor bypassing the oral cavity completely. I highly recommend against the bypass route, just because you pass a Saliva roadside, if you have an accident, your blood won't lie and you may devastate another family and your own.
After your last session of the night, scrape your tongue, floss every gap thoroughly, brush a minimum of 5 minutes with decent toothpaste, use Peroxyl mouth-wash to allow the low-level peroxide to fizz any hidden traces from all oral areas. Finally, and most importantly, use a strong alcoholic mouthwash, Alcohol bonds with THC so I consider this the final "active THC" destroyer. As much as its a pain in the ass, follow the oral cleansing technique in the morning and leave your house without the feeling of a dark cloud ruining your life.
Just to add, I was an officer in 2010 when workplace drug testing came in, urines only at that time. Every shift I would get home and need to use my volcano back then with my BM just to switch off and sleep as that job was intense. I spent thousands of hours researching how to beat the tests, and thousands of dollars back then in testing material and equipment. The sad reality is there is no way around Urine testing, the detox systems at best can help accelerate the process in removing THC but very minimally. The instant detox drinks I can assure you all will not work unless the person supervising the test does not understand what a dilute sample.

2024.05.07 20:05 TVL257 I can't play OSRS anymore after more than decade of playing it just because we moved to a new house (Error:1020)

I'm from Vietnam, been playing this game on and off since college 2010, we were poor so runescape was like the only thing that could work, so to me this game has a very special place. i may not have a maxed account of all skills, but it's still a part of my life and it did contribute to my english skill a bit i guess
So recently i just got married. We bought a new house, which comes with a choice of either new ISP or use the old one, the old one we used for 2 decades, so i signed up for a new one thinking it would be a nice change of pace, and it's one of 3 if not the most popular ISP used in vietnam, what the worst can happen right? I been using just runelite, then i got hit with the error 1020 after linking it to jagex launcher, I can't unlink the account anymore. From what i researched, it's an IP ban, so Jagex completely blocked most if not all the IP blocks of this ISP (i guess it's a common ISP in vietnam so high chance people who botted was using it, tho it was probably loooooong ago, cause this game isn't known at all in vietnam, i can't even find a community for it), it uses dynamic IP so for the past month, i have been resetting the router every now and then in hope of landing in an IP that isn't blocked, no dice. I can't even submit ticket or whatever on jagex website cause it shows 1020 error in every url i try to open
Some told me to use VPN, but to tell the truth, the games i play with friends don't require that, and good vpn services are quite expensive and unnecessary expense for us just so i can play a game i was playing for more than a decade.
Tbh, i don't expect anything typing this, guess i just wanna let it all out one way or another, maybe a jagex staff sees this and "just fix it lol" somehow. And now i realized i care more than i wanted to admit to.
P/s: some pm'd me to tell me to change the isp back, it's not gonna happen cause I signed for 2 years package, and it's wayyy better than our old internet package for speed. And the old isp did have 1020 problem every now and then, I just didn't care cause runelite bypassed that. It's jagex launcher combined with the current isp being the most used that makes it noticable

2024.05.06 09:53 SignificanceRoyal245 What I learnt building 18 iOS apps in 18 months

I'm writing this post as a follow-up to someone wondering why they did not start building software sooner and faster in SideProject - I posted a comment empathizing with OP and telling them I knew this feeling very well, so much so that I started to build one iOS app per month 18 months ago. People asked follow-up questions via DM or in public and I realized this was maybe worth a post on its own, so here we go.
First: this is my developer page on the App Store, where you will see my apps currently published (I actually built 28 apps in total, but that's for another story...)
And a disclaimer: these are side projects built at nights and week-ends. I have a day job, where what I build is much more polished...
I got lots of questions via DM or in public, so I'll try to address them all, starting with the technical ones and ending with marketing and performance:
How did I learn programming?
My apps are coded in swift / swift UI - I studied engineering a long time ago (20 years), but we didn't do much practical programming. So I learnt on the go. Stackoverflow has been very useful all these years, now followed by LLMs (e.g. chatGPT) when I'm stuck or too lazy to remember the exact syntax of something. Hacking with Swift has been invaluable and always on point when it comes to following new apis. Special mention to Swift with Majid.
When did I code my first iOS app?
Summer 2010. I then probably built one app every year or two until 18 months ago. These apps were mostly proof of concepts, badly designed, and a way for me to learn iOS development.
Why did I start coding an app a month?
I have always loved creating: apps, books, music, building stuff with cardboard with my kids... I simply can't stop.
The only issue is that even though I'm not bad at having ideas and starting them, I'm not good at finishing them (you might recognise yourself!) - especially if it's as part of a side project where life easily takes over.
This was the case until 18 months ago, where I realized that Swift / Swift UI (and now Swift Data) were at a sweet spot (at least for me) to at last be able to execute very quickly from start to finish. So I would say that the trigger for me was really technological: I now feel I have the means to go from 0 to 100 very fast.
How does my side projects schedule look like on a typical month?
Wait, so I actually spend 1 week coding the app?
Yes. The most I spent coding on a single app was probably closer to 2 weeks. Some very simple apps were done in a day. But the biggest part of the month is spent procrastinating, and finding the courage / waiting to feel the urge to build a new app :)
How do I prevent myself from adding new features / fixing stuff before releasing?
I agree, it's very easy to fall in the vortex of never-ending features and fixes. I simply learnt to stop caring at all. I don't care if the app is not perfect. I'm just looking forward to put it out there as fast as I can, see how it goes, and then iterate on feedback (including mine if I'm a user of the app, which is the case most times). Have your first app roasted on reddit: you will quickly realize it's crap by many standards, so don't take it personally... and put it out there. The goal is to find users, not commentators!
How did it go overall?
Not bad at all for little side projects I expected nothing from. And that's actually the key I think (if we're talking about side projects, not real businesses): if you focus too much on the financial aspect it will become less fun, put more pressure on you, and you might be less successful (you already have a job, after all...). So in my case I just put my apps on the store, and let them live their life. Some work (pretty well), some don't (at all). Most importantly, even for the apps that do well in the store, I know that it can stop overnight for some obscure reason.
Some examples
The apps that do well are sometimes the ones you spent the less time on, and vice versa.
For instance, this app to get an archive of a webpage (and bypass paywalls, sometimes...) does very well despite its horrendous design and lack of features.
To the contrary, this positive affirmation app, for which I spent a comparatively long time on UI / UX and features, and which is really cheap vs competition doesn't do well at all - and I don't know why :)
One last example with this app to track, forecast and correlate your mental health, which does extremely well in China, and nowhere else - don't ask me why!
How do I market my apps?
Simply put, I mostly don't. I tried posting in subreddits for my latest one (an AI coach for MMA / Combat sports) with very limited downloads. Some of my apps got fairly significant press coverage, again with limited effects on downloads.
So I ended up doing two things:
A few parting words
You might be wondering why I've been doing this instead of say, focusing really well on one single app for 18 months. The answer is simple: I'm already doing this during my day job. For my side projects, what I like is the variety of what I'm building, the "rush" of submitting a new app, and the satisfaction of seeing all these (more or less nice) icons lined up on my page. I find happiness in the journey, not the destination ;)

I am trying to stream to earn a living. It's probably just a fool's errand to keep me busy while my health seems to get worse. But trying to get the word out. In hopes, it doesn't happen again.
I could really use the help. To spread this word.

2024.05.04 11:36 NicoBacc Suggestion for shock absorbers for Alfa Mito QV

Hi guys, I have a Mito QV 2010 with Active suspension. This year I have already punctured 3 tires (215/40/18) and I am undecided whether to fit the 17" rims or change the shock absorbers (they have 170k km and are the originals one). The problem is that for what I understood, they have electronic parts, so you need to buy the original parts or a kit to bypass the error. What happens if I buy a normal kit and I get the shock absorbers error? The car won't start at all or I just get the error on the display? I saw these kit are really expensive, so a normal sport kit without any electronic will be cheaper (and maybe even better, with a better handling and grip). Do you have any suggestions on what I can mount on this car? Thank you in advance!

2024.05.03 07:05 Midnightrider88 Lindsay Buziak (24) was targeted, set-up and killed: Did the succesful realtor know too much? - Victoria, BC, Canada - 2008

In 2008, Lindsay Buziak, just 24, had been one of only twenty realtors in Victoria under the age of 25. Lindsay was a smart and attractive young woman, with lots of friends and a bright future ahead of her. She lived in a condo with her boyfriend, Jason Zailo.
The couple had met two years earlier during a real estate exam study group. Lindsay had a boyfriend at the time so when the study group ended, Jason and Lindsay each went their separate ways. However, not long after, Lindsay became single and she started seeing Jason.
Lindsay's parents had divorced when she was a child, but she maintained a close relationship with her Dad, Jeff Buziak, a real estate agent in Calgary. After becoming licensed in 2006, Lindsay began selling upscale townhomes for the Maverick group. Jason's mother, Shirley Zailo, was a realtor as well. In fact, Shirley was so successful that she was known as one of Victoria's top agents.
Lindsay started working for Remax Camosun, alongside Jason and Shirley. During her short time there, Lindsay helped bring in 3.2 million dollars worth of sales. As their careers picked up, Lindsay and Jason moved into a one bedroom condo near Victoria's inner harbour. However, Lindsay began to grow disillusioned with their relationship and was thinking about leaving Jason.
By the end of 2007, Lindsay complained to her father that Jason lacked ambition. Despite a successful business year, Lindsay was unhappy with the relationship. She told friends that she was thinking about breaking things off. In any case, Lindsay decided not to end things with Jason, and they were still together in January of 2008.
The Million Dollar Client
On February 1st, 2008, Lindsay received a call on her cell phone out of the blue from a woman with a strong Mexican sounding accent. The woman told Lindsay that she had been referred by a friend of her husband's and that they were in urgent need of a new home. According to the woman, her husbands work was transferring him from Vancouver to Victoria, and they had a budget of one million dollars.
The woman was quite specific. She told Lindsay that they wanted a separate area for the couples housekeeper. Not only that, but they wanted the house to be vacant so that they could get moved in ASAP. Lindsay saved the couple's number in her phone, under Million Dollar. She immediately got to work, searching for homes that fit the criteria.
Later that night, Lindsay emailed the client a list of possible options. The first on the list was 1702 DeSousa Place, a brand new two story house on a corner lot located on a quiet cul de sac in Saanich. The couple told Lindsay that they were interested in the house. They asked if they could see it the very next day. Although Lindsay had plans to attend a close friend's bachelorette she agreed to meet with the couple at 5:30 PM.
That night, Lindsay told Jason about the phone call. She thought it was weird that the couple chose her, a relatively new agent who they didn't really know. When Lindsay told Shirley about the potential sale, Shirley offered to do the showing for her so that Lindsay could get to the party. However, Lindsay said that she would meet the couple for 5:30 and then head over to the party afterward.
The Meeting at De Sousa Place
The next day, the woman called Lindsay's landline number. Lindsay was at her office preparing for their meeting that evening and so Jason answered the phone. The woman told Jason that she would try Lindsay's cell number. According to Jason, the woman had an accent that sounded to him like "broken Spanish."
As Lindsay got ready for the meeting, she made a request to the office receptionist. She asked her to do a search of the couples' name and number in the company's database. The receptionist was unable to find any information. There was nothing in the database to suggest that the couple had ever made any purchases or sales of real estate.
Sometime that afternoon, Lindsay received a call from the woman's husband. He told Lindsay that he would be the one meeting her that evening. For whatever reason, his wife could no longer come. Lindsay became even more nervous. During dinner with Jason, Lindsay asked him to wait in his car outside the house for her.
Jason picked up a friend around 5 PM. They had plans to play hockey and have a few drinks that night. They drove to the house to meet Lindsay. Jason was having trouble finding the house because it was so new that his GPS couldn't locate it. At 5:30, he called Lindsay to ask for directions. Just as she was about to give them, she stopped and said, "I've got to go, they're here."
It was around this time that Lindsay was seen by neighbours standing at the front door of 1702 DeSousa Place. A man and a woman walked up to the house and Lindsay shook their hands. The woman, who looked to be in her late thirties or early forties, was wearing an oddly patterned dress and her blonde hair was cut short. The man wore a simple medium or light coloured jacket, and stood 6 feet tall. After introducing herself, Lindsay welcomed them into the house and shut the door behind her.
Lindsay began the showing. She started walking up the stairs to show the second level and just as she reached the master bedroom, she was attacked from behind. During the attack, between 5:38 and 5:41 PM, Lindsay made a call from her phone to a friend she hadn't spoken to in a long time. The call resulted in a muffled voice-mail, and police have determined that the call was accidental.
Jason Finds the Body
Outside the house, Jason had been waiting for Lindsay in his Range Rover. He had arrived around 5:40 PM. At around 5:45 PM, Jason and his friend noticed two figures inside the house, standing behind the front door. It seemed as though they were getting their shoes on. The person noticed the cars headlights and turned away. Jason, assuming the showing was still in progress, drove down the block and parked his car. He didn't want it to seem like he was interfering.
Just before 6 PM, Jason texted Lindsay, but there was no response. He drove up to the house and tried calling her but there was no answer. Fearing something had happened, Jason and his friend got out of the vehicle. They started banging on the door, calling Lindsay's name. Jason tried to get inside but the door was locked. They tried the side door but that was locked too. Jason called 911.
As the men waited for the police to arrive, Jason noticed that the back doors were wide open. He boosted his friend over the fence. His friend ran into the house and unlocked the front door to let Jason in. As soon as Jason got inside, he noticed bloody footprints on the stairs. He ran up the stairs and found Lindsay slumped against the wall in a pool of blood and quickly called 911 to request an ambulance. He attempted CPR but all he heard was the air escaping through the holes in Lindsay's body. She had been stabbed multiple times.
Who Killed Lindsay Buziak?
Lindsay's murder made national news and then it made international news. Everyone wanted to know; who killed this fun-loving and vibrant young woman, in the prime of her life? When police arrived at the murder scene, they had taken Jason and his friend into custody. Both men were questioned and later released. Jason took a polygraph. No charges were ever filed and Jason was cleared as a suspect.
In 2010, Dateline interviewed Jason for an episode on Lindsay's murder. He denied any involvement. Then, in 2019, Jeff Buziak appeared on the Dr. Phil show to discuss the ongoing investigation. Jeff, an outspoken advocate for Lindsay, has long been critical of the Saanich police departments abilities. In 2021, new investigators were assigned to Lindsay's case. They worked alongside the FBI. Despite advancements in DNA technology, the murder of Lindsay Buziak remains unsolved.
Court Documents Made Public
Some key facts related to Lindsay's case became public in January of 2023, thanks to exhaustive efforts by The Capital Daily. The independent investigation resulted in 200 interviews and access to 1,500 pages of police filed court documents. Through these documents, it was discovered that the phone used to contact Lindsay was a burner, purchased at a Vancouver convenience store in late 2007. Whoever purchased the phone used a fake name - Paulo Rodriguez.
When police went to the store in search of surveillance footage, they discovered that it had already been deleted or recorded over. The phone was only ever used to contact Lindsay. It was clear that her murder had been carefully planned in advance. After Lindsay was murdered, the burner phone was deactivated.
Also discovered was the fact that Lindsay had 700 friends on her Facebook in 2008. Strangely, between January 3rd and February 3rd, nobody posted anything to Lindsay's Facebook wall. This was unusual. Police discovered that posts had been deleted. They tried contacting Facebook in an effort to obtain those posts but it's unclear if they were granted access. Lindsay's friends didn't know why the messages were deleted, and Lindsay's text messages didnt provide any answers either.
Theory One: TZDI (The Zailos Did It)
There are two prevailing theories in the murder of Lindsay Buziak. Shortly after the murder, many people were suspicious of her boyfriend, Jason Zailo. After all, Lindsay had considered ending things with him shortly before she was killed. In fact, police questioned Jason for hours. Three investigators, who had no relation to the case, were brought in by Dateline to act as a panel. All of them decided that whoever killed Lindsay worked in real estate. Also, the fact that Lindsay was stabbed to death in an up close and personal attack leads some people to speculate that her killer knew her well.
Over the years, discourse has turned towards Jason's mother, Shirley. People have speculated that the brokerage firm Lindsay worked at with the Zailos, Remax Camosun, was a place fraught with shady dealings. There was speculation that Shirley and Jason were involved in drug trafficking, mortgage fraud, money laundering, and/or embezzlement. The theory is that after Lindsay threatened to break up with Jason, Shirley decided that she knew too much and put out a hit.
Theory Two: The Calgary Drug Bust (Operation High Noon)
Although police have said that Lindsay wasn't directly involved with organized crime or drug trafficking, she definitely knew people who were. In December of 2007, Lindsay visited Calgary for four days. She wanted to see her father as well as a few old friends. During this trip, Lindsay met up with an old pal, Erickson Delalcazar.
Weeks later, on January 26, 2008, Delalcazar was arrested in relation to the biggest drug bust Alberta had ever seen, which led to the confiscation of eight million dollars worth of cocaine. Police intercepted two vehicles being used to conduct a drug transaction. Then, they raided a house and a garage where they found cocaine, cash, handguns, a rifle, and a locked safe.
After opening the safe, police discovered 42 kilograms of pure cocaine. The undercover investigation, dubbed Operation High Noon, had begun two months earlier when officers started looking into the trafficking of cocaine between British Columbia and Alberta. As a result, they discovered a highly covert operation in which drugs were being transported to Canada directly from Mexico, bypassing the US.
After returning home from Calgary, Lindsay had attempted to contact a relative of someone involved in the Calgary Drug Bust (presumably Delalcazar.) Police discovered that Lindsay had visited this person's Facebook page, and then tried contacting that person by phone. On February 1st, 2008, the day before Lindsay was murdered, Erickson Delalcazar was denied bail. Police have stated publicly that Lindsay was not involved with drugs and was not the informant who triggered the bust.

2024.05.01 23:56 No-Screen-8530 Do the "pro's" get gifted high rating accounts to start out?

It's just something I've always wondered. I have a lot of sim driver and real driver friends who do iracing, and none of them can get past the 2k-2.3k mark.
It's such a crap shoot in every race that I have to wonder if the pro drivers are gifted accounts to bypass the lower levels?
It doesn't really seem to matter where u start or how u drive because more often than not, you're going to lose more than you gain, simply from other drivers being horrible.
So, how did the pro drivers get through these mine fields?
Also, I'm feeling that the higher ranks, like 8k, are pretty unachievable for new players because of how the system works. The odds of having a run of luck long enough to achieve even over 2k is astronomical. You can only achieve hughe ranks over years of play, it seems. Even if u win every race, it's still going to take a long time for those points to add up.
Is there an unachievable glass ceiling that you can only break through if you were lucky enough to start in 2010 when it was mostly a hard-core sim crowd that raced correctly?
I've been racing since early 2015. Constantly at 2k levels, can't ever break through no matter how I race. It's just the odds of someone wrecking u out are way too big to overcome.
It's hard for me to believe that the high ranked drivers had to go through what we go through now. I have to believe that a lot of them wouldn't be where they are if they had to start over again at the bottom.
Maybe the game is too commercial and attracts too many casual players when their goal is to be a serious sim.
Yeah, I just had to vent it out.

VANCOUVER, BC , April 30, 2024 /CNW/ - FPX Nickel Corp. (TSXV: FPX) (OTCQB: FPOCF) (" FPX " or the " Company ") is pleased to announce that it has successfully completed a large-scale mineral processing pilot testing campaign for the Baptiste Nickel Project (" Baptiste " or the " Project "), the first significant component of the ongoing feasibility study (" FS ") metallurgical testwork campaign. Results from this testwork confirm the 2023 preliminary feasibility study (" PFS ") basis, thereby validating FPX's processing strategy, flowsheet, and key metallurgical criteria, including estimated recoveries. The pilot testing campaign was funded in part by a $725,000 grant from Natural Resources Canada (" NRCan ") under the Government of Canada's Critical Minerals Research, Development and Demonstration (" CMRDD ") program, which is advancing the commercial readiness of processing technologies that will support the development Canada's EV battery material supply chain.
Highlights
  • Pilot-scale mineral processing testwork is now complete, with metallurgical performance matching the 2023 PFS basis, confirming expected recoveries and other key performance criteria
  • Testwork identified multiple opportunities to further optimize the mineral processing flowsheet through further process simplification
  • Testwork produced sufficient high-grade concentrate (60% nickel) for pilot-scale testing of the downstream hydrometallurgy refinery for the production of battery-grade nickel sulphate
  • Preparations for the downstream hydrometallurgical refining pilot plant are underway, with results expected to be announced in the third quarter of 2024
"These first results from our FS metallurgical testwork program further validate the processing advantages of awaruite which were demonstrated in the Baptiste PFS," commented Andrew Osterloh , FPX Nickel's Senior Vice President, Projects & Operations. "Conducted with support from NRCan, this large-scale pilot program has demonstrated that the processing strategy, flowsheet, and metallurgical basis from the PFS are robust, and has identified further optimization opportunities to lower capital and operating costs. This is another positive step as we continue to advance Baptiste as a potential producer of disruptive quantities of low-carbon, low-cost, Canadian nickel."
Background
The Baptiste processing strategy leverages awaruite's distinct properties in a simple, yet robust flowsheet. The front end of the flowsheet utilizes magnetic separation to create a "magnetics rich" concentrate of awaruite and magnetite – a process made effective due to awaruite's intense ferromagnetism and high density. The back end of the flowsheet then utilizes conventional froth flotation to separate awaruite from magnetite – a process made effective due to awaruite's active surface properties and magnetite's general lack of floatability. Finally, based on awaruite's very high nickel content, a very high-grade nickel concentrate (60% nickel) can be produced.
Downstream of the mineral processing plant, awaruite's properties continue to provide distinct advantages, including unparalleled downstream market flexibility. Unlike conventional nickel mineral concentrates which have a high sulphur content, Baptiste's awaruite concentrate is nearly sulphur-free and low in deleterious elements, meaning it can bypass intermediate smelting and be used directly in stainless steel fabrication. Alternatively, the Baptiste awaruite concentrate is also an ideal feedstock for the production of high-purity, battery-grade nickel sulphate for the electric vehicle (" EV ") supply chain. The Company's PFS metallurgical testing programs have well demonstrated this flexibility, and the FS metallurgical testing program is expected to confirm these previous findings at an even larger scale.
Mineral Processing Pilot Plant
The primary objectives of the FS mineral processing pilot plant were (1) to further demonstrate the Baptiste concentrator flowsheet at a larger scale; and (2) to produce sufficient awaruite concentrate to conduct pilot-scale, continuous testing of the downstream hydrometallurgy refinery for the production of battery-grade nickel sulphate.
The testwork reported herein represents the third pilot-scale mineral processing campaign the Company has completed for Baptiste. Key parameters from each pilot plant are summarized in Table 1, highlighting that the FS pilot plant was conducted at a significantly greater scale and run time than previously completed campaigns, permitting a longer duration of steady-state operation.

The FS pilot plant followed the flowsheet defined in the 2023 PFS, but also tested multiple optimization opportunities. The tested flowsheet is presented in Figure 1, with blue unit operations representing continuously-tested PFS flowsheet elements and green unit operations representing potential flowsheet optimizations which were also tested.

The Company re-engaged Corem ( Quebec, Canada ) to conduct the FS pilot plant, building on their experience with previous piloting and numerous bench-scale programs for Baptiste. A total of 76 tonnes of material were processed in the pilot plant, resulting in approximately 9.9 days of continuous run-time in the primary grinding and magnetic separation circuits.
When operating under normal conditions, the FS pilot plant delivered metallurgical performance that closely matched the metallurgical performance assumed in the PFS. This includes stage-by-stage recoveries, as well as the ability to produce the high-grade nickel concentrate (60% nickel) envisioned in the PFS. While these were expected results, given the quality and scale of the PFS metallurgical testwork program, the success of the FS pilot plant nevertheless provides further validation for the proposed Baptiste processing strategy, flowsheet, and metallurgical basis. Examples of the awaruite concentrates produced in the pilot plant are presented in Figures 2 and 3.

Optimization Opportunities
The extended duration of the FS pilot plant also permitted trial of two flowsheet optimizations, firstly the production and upgrading of a gravity concentrate, and secondly the elimination of the second regrind and recleaning magnetic separation stage. As discussed below, both of these optimization opportunities have the potential to contribute to flowsheet enhancements that contribute to lower associated processing costs.
Early Recovery of Coarse, Liberated Awaruite to Final Concentrate
The second PFS pilot plant noted considerable circulating load of awaruite in the first regrind circuit due to the high specific gravity and malleability of awaruite and the use of a hydrocyclone to close the grinding circuit. Continuous testing during the FS pilot plant demonstrated the technical viability of using a centrifugal concentrator to recover coarse, liberated awaruite from grinding circuit recirculating loads. This approach is commonly applied in the gold industry to recover coarse gold particles. Gravity concentrates grading 20-40% nickel were produced, and then successfully upgraded to the final concentrate grade of 60% nickel using magnetic separation and flotation steps.
While the PFS envisioned advancing the coarse, liberated awaruite to the cleaner magnetic separation feed, the early recovery of this material to a final product reduces the risk of downstream overgrinding and its potential recovery impact. As such, FS pilot testwork clearly demonstrates that awaruite's high density can be effectively managed in an industrial grinding circuit.
Elimination of Secondary Regrinding and Recleaning Magnetic Separation
The second optimization trialed the elimination of the second regrind and recleaner magnetic separation circuits. To test this, cleaner magnetic separation concentrate was directly fed to froth flotation. Testwork showed overall recoveries comparable to the PFS flowsheet. For this approach, rougher concentrate would then be reground prior to cleaner froth flotation, but this would require a significantly smaller regrind circuit, resulting in process simplification, capital cost savings, and operating costs savings. This opportunity will be further investigated and validated in upcoming stages of the FS metallurgical testwork program, with the potential for additional processing cost benefits for the Project.
Hydrometallurgical Refinery Pilot Plant
The awaruite concentrate generated during the mineral processing plant will now be used in the downstream hydrometallurgical refining pilot plant. FPX has re-engaged Sherritt Technologies Ltd. to conduct this testwork, building on their successful completion of the previous batch-scale testing program in 2023. As noted in the Company's news release dated May 17, 2023 , the 2023 program successfully demonstrated FPX's proposed refinery flowsheet can produce battery grade nickel sulphate at the batch-scale, and FS testwork program will now aim to demonstrate similar findings at the pilot-scale. Preparations for this pilot plant are underway and results are expected to be announced in the third quarter of 2024.

2024.04.29 10:28 djminger007 CKB: A new chapter in the programmability of bitcoin

This is a really good read I've picked up from Neon in Nervos Nation TG from a Chinese website and the browser has translated it, seems like a good translation from Brave!!! Please be aware there are a few images that cannot be transferred form this article, but if you're not caring about lines of code or any of the schematics, you can give this a good read regardless.

Bullish; Heres the link for those that might want to cross reference

Foreword

In the fourth round of bitcoin halving cycle, the outbreak of the Ordinals agreement and similar agreements was adopted to make the encryption industry aware of the positive externality of the security and ecological development of the bitcoin master network based on the Bitcoin L1 layer of issued assets and transaction assets. Value is the “Uniswap moment” of Bitcoin ecology.
The programmable evolution and iteration of Bitcoin is the result of market governance in the Bitcoin community, not driven by the theory of Holder of BTC, Builder of block space, etc.
At present, by enhancing the programmability of Bitcoin and increasing the utilization rate of the block space of the main network of Bitcoin, it has become a new design space for the consensus of the Bitcoin community.
Unlike Etai and other high-performance public chains, in order to ensure the simplicity and light quantification of UTXO episodes, the design space for the programmability of bitcoins is highly restricted, and the basic constraints are how to use scripts and OP Code to operate UTXO.
The classic Bitcoin programmable program has a state channel ( Lightning Network ), customer end verification (RGB), side chain (Liquid Network, Stacks, RootSock, etc. ), CounterParty, Omni Layer Asser, TaproC, etc. Emerging bitcoin programmability programs since 2023 include Ordinals, BRC20, Runes, Atomicals, Stamps, etc.
After the end of the second wave of inscriptions, a new generation of bitcoin programmability programs and so on emerged, such as CKB's UTXO co-construct binding program, EVM compatible bitcoin L2 program, DriveChain program, etc.
Compared with the EVM compatible bitcoin L2 scheme, CKB(Common Knowledge Base) The Bitcoin Programmability Program is a native, safe, and non-introducing social trust hypothesis solution in the Bitcoin Programmability Modern Design Space. Compared with the DriveChain plan, it does not require any change in the level of the Bitcoin agreement.
In the foreseeable future, the programmable growth curve of Bitcoin will go through an accelerated growth stage, and the assets, users, and applications of Bitcoin ecology will usher in a massive outbreak of martial arts,The UTXO Stack of the CKB ecology will provide new Bitcoin developers with the ability to build protocols using modular stacks. In addition, CKB is exploring the integration of the lightning network with UTXO Stack, using the original programmability of Bitcoin to achieve interoperability between the new agreements.

Programmable naming space for bitcoin

The block chain is a machine for creating trust, and the main Bitcoin network is the No. 0 machine. Like all philosophy in the West is a footnote to Plato, everything in the encrypted world ( assets, narratives, block chain networks, protocols, DAO, etc. ) are derivatives and derivatives of bitcoin.
In the process of coordinated evolution of Bitcoin Maxi and expansionists, from whether the Bitcoin main network supports Turing’s complete struggle to the dispute between the isolation witness program and the large block expansion plan, Bitcoin is constantly split. This is not only creating new encryption projects and encryption community consensus, but also strengthening and consolidating Bitcoin's own community consensus, which is a process of completing self-identification while others are institutionalized.
Due to the mysterious disappearance of Satoshi Zhong, Bitcoin community governance does not exist in the governance structure of the “ enlightened monarchy ” like Taifang, but is a balanced governance model in open games by miners, developers, communities and markets. This gives Bitcoin a community consensus that once formed and is extremely stable.
The characteristics of the current Bitcoin community consensus are: consensus is not command and control, trust minimization, decentralization, anti-censorship, anonymity, open source, open collaboration, licensing exemption, legal neutrality, homogenization, forward compatibility, resources Use minimization, verification > calculation, convergence, transaction volatility、Resist DoS attacks, avoid scramble entry, robustness, consistent incentives, curing, consensus that should not be tampered with, conflicting principles, collaborative advancement, etc. [1]
The current form of the Bitcoin main network can be regarded as an example of the consensus characteristics of the above Bitcoin community. The programmable design space of Bitcoin is also defined by the consensus characteristics of the Bitcoin community.

Programmable classic design space for bitcoin

When other public chains try to be modular, parallel, etc. to explore the design space where the block chain cannot be a triangular solution, the design space of the bitcoin protocol has always focused on scripts, OP Code, and UTXO.
Two typical examples are the two major upgrades to the Bitcoin main network since 2017, Segwit hard fork and Taproot soft fork.
In August 2017, Segwit bifurcated hard, adding 3M blocks outside the main block of 1M to save the signature ( Witness), and setting the weight of the signature data as the main block when calculating the miner’s fee 1/4 to maintain consistency in the cost of spending a UTXO output and creating a UTXO output,Prevent the abuse of UTXO to zero to increase the expansion rate of UTXO sets.
In November 2021, Taproot's soft fork was introduced by introducing Schnorr's multiple signature program to save UTXO's verification time and block space occupied by multiple signatures.
UTXO( The unspent transaction output ) is the basic data structure of the Bitcoin main network, which has atomic, non-homogeneous, and chain-coupled characteristics. Every transaction on the main net of Bitcoin consumes 1 UTXO as input, and creates an integer n new UTXO output. It is generally understood that UTXO can be regarded as a dollar, euro and other banknotes running on the chain. It can cost, change, split, combine, etc., but its minimum atomic unit is Satoshi(sats). 1 UTXO represents the latest state at a particular time. UTXO episode, which represents the latest state of the Bitcoin main network at a certain time.
By maintaining the simplicity, light quantification, and easy verification of the Bitcoin UTXO episode, the state expansion rate of the Bitcoin main network has successfully stabilized at a level compatible with the hardware Moore law, thereby ensuring the participation of the entire Bitcoin network nodes And the robustness of transaction verification.
Correspondingly, the programmable design space of Bitcoin is also constrained by the consensus characteristics of the Bitcoin community. For example, in order to prevent potential security risks, Satoshi Nakamoto decided to remove the OP-CAT operation code in August 2010, which is the key logic for achieving programmability at the complete level of Bitcoin Turing.
Bitcoin's programmable realization path does not use the virtual machine (VM) scheme in the chain like Taifang and Solana, but chooses to use the script and operation code (OP Code) for UXTO, transaction Input field, output field and witness data (Witness).
The main toolboxes for programmability of bitcoin are: multiple signatures, time locks, Hash locks, process control (OP_IF, OP_ELIF). [2]
Under the classic design space, the programmability of bitcoin is very limited. It only supports a few verification procedures, but does not support chain storage and chain calculations, and chain storage and chain calculations are precisely to achieve Turing's complete level programmability. Core functional components.

Programmable Renaissance of Bitcoin

But Bitcoin's programmable design space is not a fixed state. Instead, it is closer to a dynamic spectrum that changes over time.
Unlike the outside world's stereotype that the development of the Bitcoin main network is at a standstill, in the case of various consensus vectors limiting the design space, the development, deployment, adoption, and promotion of the new script and new operation code of the Bitcoin main network are always in progress Times,And at some point even triggered a fork war in the encrypted community ( such as Segwit hard fork ).
Taking the Bitcoin main net script type with degree change as an example, we can clearly perceive the changes. We can divide the scripts used by the Bitcoin main network output type into three categories: original script pubkey, pubkeyhash, enhanced script multisig, scripthash, witness script witness_v0_keyhash, witness_v0_scripthash, witness_v1_taproot.
From the change trend chart of the entire historical output type of the Bitcoin main network, we observe a basic fact: the programmability enhancement of the Bitcoin main network is a long-term historical trend, enhancing the share of scripts in the original script, and witnessing the script being swallowed The share of the enhanced script. The Ordinals agreement based on Segweit's enhanced script and Taproot's witness script opened a wave of Bitcoin L1 asset issuance, which is both a continuation of the programmable historical trend of the Bitcoin main network and a new stage of programmability of the Bitcoin main network.
The Bitcoin main network operation code also has an evolutionary process similar to the Bitcoin main net script.
For example, the Ordinals agreement is to achieve its functional design by combining the Bitcoin main net script taproot script-path spend and operation code (OP_FALSE, OP_IF, OP_PUSH, OP_ENDIF).
Before the official birth of the Ordinals agreement, the programmable classic plan of bitcoin mainly has the state channel ( Lightning Network ), customer verification (RGB), side chain (Liquid Network, Stacks, RootSock, etc.), CounterParty, etc.
The Ordinals agreement sequences the smallest atomized unit of UXTO (Satoshi), and then inserts the data content in the Witness field of UTXO, and is associated with a specific deafness after sequencing, and then the chain indexer is responsible for indexing and Perform programmable operations of these data states. This new bitcoin programmability paradigm is vividly likened to “ Golden Eagle ”.
The new paradigm of the Ordinals agreement has inspired a wider range of encrypted communities to use the Bitcoin main network block space to distribute, cast and trade NFT collections and MeMe-type Token(, which can be collectively referred to as the inscription ). For the first time in life, you have your own Bitcoin address.
However, the programmability of the Ordinals agreement inherits the limited programmability of Bitcoin and only supports the three functional methods of Deploy, Mint and Transfer. This allows the Ordinals agreement and its followers BRC20, Runes, Atomicals, Stamps, etc. to apply only to the application scenes where assets are issued. Support for DeFi application scenes such as transactions and loans that require state calculation and state storage is relatively weak.
Liquidity is the source of vitality for assets. Due to the natural characteristics of the programmability agreement of the Ordinals type bitcoin, the reissue of the inscription assets and the provision of light liquidity affect the value of the entire life cycle of the inscription assets.
Moreover, the Ordinals and BRC20 agreements are also suspected of misusing the witness data space and objectively causing the explosion of the main network of Bitcoin.
As a reference system, the main sources of the Pacific Master Network Gas fee are DEX transaction Gas fee, L2 data availability fee, and stable currency transfer Gas fee. Compared with the Taifang main network, the income type of the Bitcoin main network is single, cyclical, and the volatility rate is large.
The programmability of the Bitcoin main network cannot yet meet the demand for the space supply side of the Bitcoin main network block. To achieve a stable and sustainable block space income state with the Pacific Master Network, the original DEX, stable currency and L2 of the Bitcoin ecology are required. The prerequisite for the realization of these agreements and applications is that Bitcoin programmable agreements need to provide Turing's complete programming capabilities.
Therefore, how to achieve the complete programmability of Bitcoin Turing in its original place, while constraining the negative impact on the size of the Bitcoin main network, has become a current manifestation of Bitcoin ecology.

Bitcoin programmable CKB scheme

At present, the complete programmable programs for the original Turing of Bitcoin are: BitVM, RGB, CKB, EVM compatible with Rollup L2, DriveChain, etc.
BitVM uses a group of OP Code in Bitcoin to build and non-logical doors, and then builds other basic logical doors with non-logical doors. Eventually, these basic logical gate circuits construct a VM native to Bitcoin. This principle is somewhat similar to the array of the Qin king of the famous science fiction novel 《 Tripartite 》. There are specific scenes in the TV series of the same name adapted by Netflix. The paper of the BitVM program has been completely open source, and is highly expected by the encrypted community. However, its engineering implementation is very difficult. It is difficult to land in the short term when it encounters problems such as data management costs under the chain, the number of participants, challenges-response interactions, and the complexity of the Hash function.
The RGB protocol uses customer end verification and one-time sealing technology to achieve the complete programmability of Turing. The core design idea is to store the status and logic of the smart contract in the output of the bitcoin transaction (Transaction)On the implementation of the maintenance and data storage of the smart contract code under the chain,The main network of bitcoins serves as the commitment layer of the final state.
EVM compatible with Rollup L2 is a quick plan to rebuild Bitcoin L2 with a mature Rollup L2 stack. However, given that the Bitcoin main network is currently unable to support fraud certification/validity certification, Rollup L2 needs to introduce the social trust assumption ( over-sign ).
DriveChain is a side chain expansion plan. The basic design idea is to use Bitcoin as the bottom layer of the block chain, and to create side chains by locking Bitcoin to achieve two-way interoperability between Bitcoin and side chains. The realization of the DriveChain project requires agreement-level changes to Bitcoin, which will deploy the BIP300 and BIP301 proposed by the development team to the main network.
The above Bitcoin programmability plan is either extremely difficult to land in the short term, or introduces too many social trust assumptions, or requires agreement-level changes to Bitcoin.

Bitcoin L1 Asset Agreement: RGB++

In response to the shortcomings and problems of the programmability agreement in Bitcoin above, the CKB team gave a relatively balanced solution. The solution consists of Bitcoin L1 asset agreement RGB++, Bitcoin L2 Raas service provider UTXO Stack and interoperability agreement integrated with the lightning network.
Original language of UXTO: tied to the same organization
RGB++ is a bitcoin L1 asset issuance agreement based on RGB design ideas. The project of RGB++ was realized, while inheriting the technical original words of CKB and RBG. It uses RGB's “ one-time seal ” and customer end verification technology, and at the same time tied up the UTXO( expanded version of Cell) that maps Bitcoin UTXO to the CKB main network, and uses CKB and Bitcoin chains Script constraints to verify the accuracy of status calculations and the validity of ownership changes.
In other words, RGB++ uses Cell on the CKB chain to express the ownership relationship of RGB assets. It moves the asset data originally stored at the end of the RGB customer to the CKB chain and expresses it in the form of Cell. It establishes a mapping relationship with Bitcoin UTXO, allowing CKB to act as an open database and chain of RGB assets. Settlement layer, replacing RGB client,Achieve more reliable data hosting and RGB contract interaction.
Cell is the basic data storage unit of CKB and can contain various data types, such as CKBytes, tokens, TypeScript codes or sequencing data ( such as the JSON string ). Each Cell contains a small program called Lock Script, which defines the owner of Cell. Lock Script not only supports the scripts of the Bitcoin main network, such as multiple signatures, Hash locks, time locks, etc., but also allows a Type Script to enforce specific rules to control its use. This allows developers to customize smart contracts according to different usages, such as issuing NFT, airdropping tokens, AMM Swap, etc.
The RGB protocol adds the root of the transaction under the chain to a UTXO'output by using the OP RETURN operating code, and uses UTXO as a container of status information. Then, RGB++ map this state information container constructed by RGB to Cell in CKB, keep the state information in Cell's type and data, and use this container UTXO as the Cell state owner.
As shown in the figure above, a complete RGB++ transaction life cycle is as follows:
  1. Calculation under the chain. When initiating a Tx bound by the same configuration, first choose a new UTXO btc_utxo#2 of the Bitcoin main network as a one-time sealed container, and then bind the UTXO btc_utxo#1 of the original Cell co-construct under the chain Btc_utxo#2、Using the original Cell as a CKB TX to enter the new Cel as an output to perform Hashi calculations to generate a commitment.
  2. Submit Bitcoin transactions. RGB++ initiated a Tx of the main bitcoin network, which will use btc_utxo#1 bound to the original Cell co-organizer as an input, and use OP RETURN to use the promise generated in the previous step as an output.
  3. Submit CKB transactions. CKB Tx calculated and generated under the chain before the execution of the CKB main network.
  4. Verify on the chain. The CKB main network runs a Bitcoin main network light client to verify the state change of the entire system. This is very different from RGB. The P2P mechanism used in the verification of RGB's status change requires that the initiator of Tx and the receiver be online at the same time and only interactively verify the relevant TX spectrum.
Based on the above-mentioned tied logic to achieve RGB++, compared with the RGB agreement, while allowing part of the privacy, some new features were obtained: enhanced customer end verification of block chains, transaction folding, no ownership contract Shared status and non-interactive transfer.
In addition, RGB++ also inherited the state space privatization characteristics of CKB main network Cell. In addition to paying the miner's fees for using Bitcoin main network block space, each TX also needs to pay for leasing Cell status space. The cost + this part of the cost returns to + after Cell consumption. Cell's state space privatization is a defense mechanism invented by CKB to deal with the explosion of the block chain main network. The leasers of Cell state space need to pay continuously during their use ( in the form of CKB circulation tokens inflation Value ). This makes the RGB++ agreement a responsible programmable expansion agreement for the main network of Bitcoin, which can limit the abuse of the block space of the main network of Bitcoin to a certain extent.
To trust L1<>L2 interoperability: Leap
The tied tie of the same structure of RGB++ is a common logic for the realization of a common atom, which either occurs at the same time or flips at the same time without intermediate states. All RGB++ transactions will appear simultaneously on the BTC and CKB chains. The former is compatible with the transactions of the RGB agreement, while the latter replaces the process of customer end verification. The user only needs to check the relevant transactions on the CKB to verify whether the calculation of the status of the RGB++ transaction is correct. However, users may also use the transaction on the CKB chain as the verification basis, and use the local Tx map of UTXO to independently verify the RGB++ transaction. (Part of the functions such as transaction folding still need to rely on CKB block Hashi for anti-double flower verification )
Therefore, the asset cross-chain between RGB++ and the CKB main network does not rely on the introduction of additional social trust assumptions, such as the relay layer of the cross-chain bridge, the centralized multi-sign vault of EVM compatible Rollup, etc. RGB++ Assets can be transferred from the Bitcoin main network to the CKB main network, or from the CKB main network to the Bitcoin main network. CKB calls this cross-chain workflow Leap.
RGB++ and CKB are loosely coupled. In addition to the assets supporting the Bitcoin L 1st floor ( are not limited to the original assets of the RGB++ agreement, including assets issued by Runes, Atomicals, Taproot Asset and other agreements )Leap to CKB, RGB++The other support Leap to Cardan. At the same time, RGB++ also supports Bitcoin L2 assets Leap to Bitcoin main network.
Examples of extended functions and applications of RGB++
The RGB++ agreement originally supported the issuance of homogenized tokens and NFT.
The homogenized token standard of RGB++ is xUDT, and the NFT standard is Spore.
The xUDT standard supports a variety of homogenized tokens issuance methods, including but not limited to centralized distribution, airdrops, subscriptions, etc. The total amount of tokens can also be selected between the upper limit and the upper limit. For the tokens with a preset upper limit, a status sharing scheme can be used to verify whether the total number of each issuance is less than or equal to the preset upper limit.
Spore in the NFT standard will store all metadata on the chain, achieving 100% data availability security. Assets issued by the Spore Agreement DOB(Digital Object, digital object), similar to Ordinals NFT, but with richer characteristics and play methods.
As a customer verification agreement, the RGB protocol naturally supports state channels and lightning networks, but is limited by the ability to calculate the script of Bitcoin, it is very difficult to bring assets other than BTC into the lightning network. However, the RGB++ protocol can use CKB's Turing Complete Script System to realize the status channel and lightning network of CKB-based RGB++ assets.
With the above standards and functions, the RGB++ agreement is not limited to simple asset issuance scenarios like other Bitcoin host network programmable agreements, but supports complex applications such as asset transactions, asset lending, and CDP stabilizer coins. For example, RGB++ combined with the tied logic of the Bitcoin main network, the PSBT script can realize a DEX form of order book grid.

Bitcoin L2 RaaS service provider: UTXO Stack

UTXO is the same as Bitcoin L2 Vs EVM compatible Bitcoin Rollup L2
In the market competition for the programmatic realization of Bitcoin in Turing, DriveChain and the restoration of OPCAT operating codes and other programs require very large uncertainties and unpredictability due to changes in the Bitcoin agreement layer, UTXO compatible with Bitcoin L2 and EVM in the realist route is more recognized by developers and capital. UTXO is also composed of Bitcoin L2, represented by CKB. EVM is compatible with Bitcoin Rollup L2, represented by Merlin Chain and BOB.
To be practical, the Bitcoin L1 asset issuance agreement has just begun to form a local consensus in the Bitcoin community, and the community consensus of Bitcoin L2 is at an earlier stage. But in this frontier area, 《 Bitcoin magazine 》 and Pantera have tried to set the definition range for Bitcoin L2 by drawing on the conceptual structure of Taifang L2.
In their eyes, Bitcoin L2 should have the following three characteristics:
In other words, they believe that Bitcoin L2 should have data availability verification based on the Bitcoin main network, escape cabin mechanism, BTC as Bitcoin L2 Gas tokens, etc. In this way, in their subconscious mind, the EVM compatible L2 paradigm was used as the standard template for Bitcoin L2.
However, the weak state calculation and verification capabilities of the Bitcoin main network cannot achieve Feature 1 and Feature 2 in the short term. In this case, EVM compatible L2 is a chain expansion plan that is completely dependent on social trust assumptions,Although they are writing in white papers that future integration of BitVM for data availability verification and joint mining with the Bitcoin main network enhances safety.
Of course, this does not mean that these EVM compatibility Rollup L2 is fake Bitcoin L2, but that they do not strike a good balance between security, distrust and scalability. Moreover, the Bitcoin ecology introduces a complete solution with the Turing of Taifang, which is easily regarded by Bitcoin Maxi as appeasement for the expansionist route.
Therefore, UTXO and Bitcoin L2 are naturally superior to EVM compatible Rollup L2 in terms of orthodox and Bitcoin community consensus.
Characteristics of UTXO Stack: Fractal Bitcoin Main Network
If the Episcopal L2 is based on the fractal of the Taifang, then the Bitcoin L2 should be the fractal of Bitcoin.
The UTXO Stack of the CKB ecology activates UTXO bitcoin L2 for the developer's key and originally integrates the RGB++ protocol capability. This allows seamless interoperability between the Bitcoin main network and UTXO developed using UTXO Stack and Bitcoin L2. UTXO Stack supports the pledge of BTC, CKB and BTC L1 assets to ensure the safety of UTXO co-constructor Bitcoin L2.
UTXO Stack currently supports the free flow and interoperability of RGB++ assets between the Bitcoin Lightning Network-CKB Lightning Network-UTXO Stack parallel L2s. In addition, UTXO Stack also supports Runes, Atomicals, Taproot Asset, Stamps and other UTXO-based Bitcoin L1 programmability protocol assets to flow freely and interoperate between UTXO Stack parallel L2s-CKB Lightning Network-Bitcoin Lightning Network.
UTXO Stack introduced the modular paradigm into the construction field of Bitcoin L2, and cleverly bypassed the calculation of the Bitcoin main network status and the verification of data availability with the tie of the same structure. In this modular stack, the role of Bitcoin is the consensus layer and the settlement layer. The role of CKB is the data availability layer, while the roles of UTXO Stack parallel L2 are the execution layer.

Bitcoin's programmable growth curve and CKB's future

Bitcoin's programmable growth curve and CKB's future

In fact, there is an inherent tension between Bitcoin’s digital gold narrative and Bitcoin’s programmable narrative. Some OGs in the Bitcoin community regard the Bitcoin L1 programmable agreement that has emerged since 23 years as a new round of Bitcoin main network. Dust attack boom. To some extent, the saliva war between the core developer of Bitcoin, Luke, and the fans of BRC20, is the third world war between Bitcoin maxi and the expanders following the battle for the completeness of Turing and the block.
But there is actually another perspective that regards bitcoin as APP Chain for digital gold. From this perspective, it is the positioning of the bottom layer of digital gold to centralize the ledger, which shapes the shape of the current Bitcoin main network UTXO set and the characteristics of programmable protocols. But if I remember correctly, Satoshi Nakamoto's vision is to make Bitcoin a P2P electronic currency. The demand for programmability in digital gold is safes and vaults, and the demand for programmability in currency is the central bank-commercial bank circulation network. Therefore, the programmability enhancement agreement of Bitcoin is not an outrageous behavior, but a return to the vision of Satoshi Nakamoto.
Drawing on Gartner Hype Cycle's research method, we can divide the Bitcoin programmability programs into 5 stages

The future of CKB: OP Stack+Eigenlayer

Whether it is EVM compatible with Bitcoin Rollup L2, UTXO co-constructor Bitcoin L2, or Drive Chain and other new paradigms, Turing’s complete programmable implementation of various programs ultimately points to the Bitcoin main network as a consensus and settlement layer.
Just as the evolution of convergence has occurred repeatedly in nature, it can be expected that the trend of the complete and programmable development of the Bitcoin eco-turing will show a certain degree of consistency with the Episcopal ecology in some respects. But this consistency will not simply be based on Taifang's technology stack to Bitcoin ecology, but on the use of Bitcoin's original technology stack ( programmability based on UTXO ) to achieve a similar ecological structure.
CKB's UTXO Stack is very similar to Optimism's OP Stack positioning. OP Stack maintains strong equivalence and consistency with the Israel-Pacific main network at the executive level, and UTXO Stack maintains strong equivalence with the Bitcoin main network at the executive level. And consistency. At the same time, UTXO Stack, like the OP Stack structure, is a parallel structure.
In the future, UTXO Stack will introduce RaaS services such as shared servers, shared security, shared liquidity, and shared verification sets to further reduce the cost and difficulty of developers to start UTXO co-constructor Bitcoin L2. At present, there are a large number of projects such as the Decentralized Stabilization Coin Agreement, AMM DEX, Borrowing Agreement, and Autonomous World. It is planned to use UTXO Stack to build UTXO co-constructor Bitcoin L2 as its bottom consensus infrastructure.
Unlike other Bitcoin security abstract agreements, the CKB's consensus mechanism is a PoW consensus mechanism consistent with the Bitcoin main network, and the machine algorithm maintains the consistency of the consensus ledger. But there is some difference between CKB's tokens economics and Bitcoin. In order to maintain the consistency of block space production and consumption behavior incentives, Bitcoin chose to introduce weights and vByte mechanism to calculate state space usage fees, and CKB chose to privatize state space.
CKB's tokens economics consists of two parts: basic distribution and secondary distribution. All CKBs issued on a basic basis are fully rewarded to miners. The purpose of CKB issued in the second level is to collect state rent. The specific distribution ratio of the issued in the second level depends on the current way in which CKBs are used in the network.
For example, suppose that 50% of all circulating CKBs are used for storage, 30% are locked in NervosDAO, and 20% are fully mobile. Then, 50% of ( issued in the second level, that is, the rent of the storage state ), will be allocated to miners, 30% will be allocated to NervosDAO depositors, and the remaining 20% will be allocated to the Treasury Fund.
This tokens economic model can constrain overall growth, coordinate the interests of different network participants ( including users, miners, developers, and tokens holders ), and create an incentive structure that is beneficial to everyone. This is different from other L1 situations in the market.
In addition, CKB allows a single Cell to occupy a maximum state space of 1,000 bytes, which gives the NFT assets on the CKB some other block chain similar assets that do not have strange characteristics, such as the original portability of Gas fees, the programmability of state space, etc. These bizarre characteristics make UTXO Stack very suitable for building digital physical reality for the infrastructure of autonomous world projects.
UTXO Stack allows Bitcoin L2 developers to use BTC, CKB, and other Bitcoin L1 asset pledges to participate in their network consensus.
Summary
It is inevitable that Bitcoin will develop to the stage of Turing's complete programmable program. But Turing’s complete programmability will not happen to the Bitcoin main network, but under the chain (RGB, BitVM) or Bitcoin L2 (CKB, EVM Rollup, DriveChain).
According to historical experience, one of these agreements will eventually develop into a monopolistic standard agreement.
There are two key factors that determine the competitiveness of Bitcoin programmable agreements: 1. Realization of BTC's free flow between L1<>L2 without relying on additional social trust assumptions; 2. Attract developers, funds and users of sufficient scale into their L2 ecology.
As a programmable solution for bitcoin, CKB has used the co-constructed binding +CKB network to replace the customer verification solution to achieve the free flow of Bitcoin L1 assets between L1<>L2, and Does not rely on additional social trust assumptions. Moreover, the benefit is in the spatial privatization characteristics of CKB Cell, and RBG++ does not bring pressure to the Bitcoin main network to explode like other Bitcoin programmability agreements.
Recently, through RGB++~ the first batch of asset releases, the ecological thermal start was initially completed, and the new users and a group of new developers were 150,000 new users for the CKB ecological success OnB. For example, OpenStamp, a one-stop solution for Stamps ecology in Bitcoin L1, has chosen to use UTXO Stack to construct UTXOs serving Stamps ecology and Bitcoin L2.
In the next stage, CKB will focus on ecological application construction, realizing BTC's free flow between L1<>L2, and integrating lightning networks, and strive to become a programmable layer of future bitcoins.

Hello.

2024.04.25 17:32 Leppa444 Update on my large car collection that I posted about yesterday.

Update on my large car collection that I posted about yesterday.
Ok so I will go over every vehicle here and talk about it in one way or another. Honestly this might help me remember what needs to be done to the fleet so I can catch up on some shit this spring haha. It’s been a hard winter.
2013 Taurus Police Interceptor runs and drives great and has no problems. Been using it as a backup car lately since our van blew up but will park inside again soon because the 2005 Suburban we just bought that I don’t have any pictures of yet will be replacing the van for now.
2012 F-150 Runs and drives fine. It’s my work and maintenance vehicle that I use to keep up with all the rest.
2012 Chrysler Town & Country Was my wife’s until I blew it up this past Easter Sunday by flooring it to get around some slowpokes on the highway. Rear timing chain snapped, valves fucked pistons, waiting on sourcing a new engine for her and shop time.
1994 Chevy W/T 1500 My old work and maintenance truck. 4.3 Engine gave out at 365k miles. Waiting on a new engine and shop time.
1949 Ford F1 Is waiting on total restoration, #5 In line. Might make a flatbed rat rod out of it
1992 Chevy 1500 Silverado Runs and drives fine, small intake manifold coolant leak, no tail lights, waiting on shop time.
1956 Ford Custom Deluxe Wagon Is waiting on full restoration. #3 in line
1986 Ford LTD Crown Victoria Is waiting to have its engine harvested and donated to the 1989 Grand Marquis.
2006 Cadillac STS Was smashed up by a family member hitting a deer about a year back, still runs and drives just is too ugly to be seen in, waiting for junkyard parts to be found
1961 Chevy Apache 10 Runs and drives just has a rough idle at the moment. Need to dial in fuel pressure from electric pump conversion. Will clear coat patina because I love the way it looks and give it a nice new wooden bed floor.
1967 Ford Galaxy 500 4-Door Runs and drives but has a broken frame underneath driver door. Cannot be welded, just crumbling. Waiting on a used frame to be found (almost impossible in Minnesota)
1986 Mazda GLC Sport. Hasn’t had attention paid to it in a long time but I plan on re-wiring the engine, gutting the interior, and making it a track toy, still runs on 3/4 cylinders.
1996 Mercury Grand Marquis (Maroon Color) Engine blew up at 465k miles. Harvesting engine from 1999 Civilian Vic to place in this vehicle, waiting on shop time.
1986 GMC S-15 Runs and drives fine. Has manual transmission and is straight piped with glass packs, really rumbles. Needs floor pans addressed soon.
2000 Ford Windstar (Without light bar) Had transmission fail then was subsequently molested for parts to throw in the 2001 Windstar. Most likely awaiting the scrap yard
All 3 Dodge and Plymouth vans were parked because of ABS pump/module failures. Cannot get those parts new anymore, only rebuilt, between the 3 of them they have over 900k miles so honestly they’re either waiting for me to give a shit and send the parts off to be rebuilt or just to scrap them.
1974 Dodge Dart Sport Is waiting on a total restoration. Is #6 in line. Car my dad brought me home from the hospital in back in 1998.
1989 Mercury Grand Marquis is waiting on the engine from the 86 LTD.
1996 Chevy Monte Carlo needs transmission eventually, not worried about it now.
1989 Cadillac Deville Bought for a project and immediately regretted it. Home to a large mouse village. Might set on fire tbh.
1983 Oldsmobile Toronado Runs and drives fine actually. Needs water pump, vacuum line work, and a new dashboard because thieves took a crow bar too it to get the radio out. Waiting on a dashboard and shop time.
2005 (White Impala) needs transmission, promised my best friend we’d fix it and give it to him if he can pass his drivers test. Waiting on him to pass his drivers test and shop time.
2001 Ford Windstar (With light bar) Runs and drives fine. Needs new valve cover gaskets, smokes like a bitch, waiting on shop time.
1997 Monte Carlo Runs and drives fine. Was parked because it developed a small pin sized hole in radiator and will not hold enough pressure to provide heat in the winter anymore.

2004 Focus Wagon. $65 Baja Racing car in progress, will never see the road again.
1999 Dodge Stratus Water pump failed. Piece of shit, worth 7 whole dollars, waiting for me to charge my winch battery to haul it to the junkyard lol
1968 Ford Galaxy 500 2-Door Waiting on complete restoration, #7 in line.
1954 Mercury Monterey (With 1952 front end) Waiting on complete restoration, #1 in line, was my grandpas car when her met my grandma 60+ years ago.
2014 Cadillac XTS runs and drives but is a lemon... Don’t even get me started… Waiting on the building to eventually collapse and crush it in 40+ years. Waiting on a miracle.
1928 Ford Model A Current restoration project on temporary hold. Cutting my own custom wooden interior frame to mount the body panels too. Original 4-cyl still runs. Keeping as original as possible.
1999 Cadillac Deville Started eating coolant… Typical Northstar things, needs new head bolts/gaskets, waiting on shop time.
2006 Chevy Impala (Grey w/ White hood) Parked with 410k miles, still runs fine, hollow sway bar rusted through and snapped, waiting on shop time.
1997 Mercury Grand Marquis (Tan Color) 32k miles, Car that I’m borrowing to my dad for the time being, runs and drives flawlessly.
1984 Ford Escort Wagon Needs a lot of work. Head gaskets are gone, distributor and camshaft need replacement, and rear drums are locked up solid, waiting on shop time. (Have not moved to new shop yet)
2010 Crown Vic Police Interceptor Needs new transmission. Phat burnouts in front of my ex girlfriend’s house at 4am may have caused this but I’ll never tell.
1998 Lincoln Town Car Runs and drives flawlessly. A/C compressor bearing is on its way out so she is currently in the shop getting her compressor deleted via a bypass pulley. She’s one of my favorite daily cars because of the 2 tone color, we call her “Goldie”
2007 Lincoln Town Car Limousine. Not much to say about this one. I’ve given her plenty of time recently and straightened out all her 300k mile issues and we’ve already had a few legendary mobile parties in her.👌
1992 Mustang Convertible Was my very first car. 36k Miles. Slight steering rack leak, needs new cloth top, waiting for summertime drop top fun.
1966 Ford F-100 runs and drives well. Needs new tires and a new custom steel fuel line from tank to pump to keep it all original. In the shop currently.

1985 Chrysler LeBaron Turbo 2-Door Convertible runs and drives now just needs a fuel pump and a new soft top. Waiting on shop time.
1976 MG Midget Runs and drives fine. Fresh Engine, transmission, rear end, and suspension rebuild. Only 900 miles since rebuild. Got bored of it before I could finish body work so it’s waiting on me to find motivation to finish it lol
1959 Ford Fairlane 500 4-Door is waiting to be pulled out of the woods and have a total restoration done. #2 in line. V8 Yblock looks brand new. Might try filming a will it run YouTube video on this one.
1950 Ford Coupe Is waiting to be pulled from woods and receive a complete restoration. My dad may buy this one from me. He has more ideas and time than I do. Unknown position in restoration line.
2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT is my go to show car. Almost never driven, maintained meticulously.
2005 Chevrolet Suburban We’ve only owned a few days and my wife has it at work right now so y’all will will have to take my word on that one😂
And I did just remember now that a few months ago I bought 2 1941 Ford Coupes that I haven’t collected yet. Will post photos of them eventually.
This was a lot of writing but I hope it was enough proof for the skeptics haha. Feel free to leave your comments and I’ll respond if I can, I’ve got nothing better to do today.🙂

My 240SX SE
Thought I’d share my car. I cropped some pictures I posted on GT Planet to some fellow sim racers a few years back. I’ve painted the wheels a dark gunmetal since then. Bought it December of 1999 with a toasted clutch for $9300 and modified it over the year 2000. Gas tank split open in 2010 and it sat until I finally got the will to tackle fixing it in September 2022. Got classic plates since I don’t drive it everyday. Took it to Autobahn track day in Joliet IL last year and man was that a blast.

2024.04.22 16:30 DLG-Sometimestech Exchange 2010 - Allow an Authenticated user to Send As anyone

Hello all
We are trying to add the ability to have a user (basically a service account) Send As anyone else in the company. This is a legacy app we are trying to retire. This worked correctly through Exchange 2003 but is failing on Exchange 2010. We are slowly going through and adding that Service Account as it comes up but every day it seems more people need it. I will start looking at a Powershell script to add this to all users.
But, I tried to get this to work by creating a new Receive Connector and giving that user rights to Send As with the command I found while searching and ChatGPTing
Get-ReceiveConnector “No_TLS_Relay_2” Add-ADPermission -user “Domain\billing.admin” -ExtendedRights “Ms-Exch-SMTP-Accept-Any-Recipient”
That did not work. I also found
$RC = Get-ReceiveConnector “No_TLS_Relay_2”
Add-ADPermission -Identity $RC.DistinguishedName -user “Domain\billing.admin ” -ExtendedRights “Ms-Exch-SMTP-Accept-Any-Recipient”
But that did not work. I then also tried "authenticated user" but that did not help.
Get-ReceiveConnector “No_TLS_Relay_2” Add-ADPermission -user “NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users” -ExtendedRights “Ms-Exch-SMTP-Accept-Any-Recipient”
I then went for the gusto and added to both the Service accoutn directly and Authenticated Users Get-ReceiveConnector “No_TLS_Relay_2” Add-ADPermission -user “NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users” -ExtendedRights “Ms-Exch-SMTP-Accept-Any-Recipient”,"ms-Exch-SMTP-Submit","ms-Exch-Bypass-Anti-Spam"
Any ideas what I can do? I also am planning on moving to M365 so this will hopefully be short term, but need the best fix for the short term

2024.04.21 22:00 kc1138 Inappropriate Motors : Reddit, Facebook and YouTube

Hello.

2024.04.19 16:00 Yablan Thinking about converting old iMac mid 2010 (High Sierra) to an emulator arcade machine, any software suggestions?

So, I have an old iMac mid 2010, high sierra, with a SSD on it, and at least 8 gb ram, if not 12. I was going to sell it, but I won't get that much money from it, so I was thinking maybe I could convert it to some kind of emulation station.
But I would like it to run it in some kind of big picture mode. That is, once it starts, it should bypass login, and preferably start some emulation frontend in full screen, which could then be navigated with already configured controllers.
Any ideas for this? Thanks a lot in advance.
