I separated with my ex a year ago after she had an affair and her undiagnosed personality disorder became too much the bear. We currently share custody of our 2 kids (10 and 7) and the relationship between myself and my ex is awful as she is just a terrible person to deal with about anything.
Lately I'm growing more and more concerned with the wellbeing of my kids given the state of things that I hear from the kids (which I note down with date+time I learned of it)
Things like:

• The kids arriving late to school 2-4 times per week, every week for months in her custody. She lives 10 avenues away. The kids often say she loses track of time while on her phone
• That she is often having terrible fights frequently, especially with our eldest child (10) who she argues with like she did with me. She has grabbed her face in anger, slapped her arm and called her "malade mentale" (sick in the head)
• She left our kids to shop with food on the stove that boiled over requiring my kids to leave my ex's apartment and seek help from a neighbor
• She hasn't worked a full time job anywhere in a year since leaving, working only weekends she doesn't have custody forcing me to pay larger support payments
• Despite not working she regularly leaves the kids at daycare after school even later than myself who works a 40 houweek job
• My kids have often described how their mother is secluded in her room and the only interactions at home are during supper time. She lives on her phone and my kids just sit around on tablets and watch TV. She is not emotionally available at all
• My kids have described their mother frequently crying and arguing on the phone. They also say she has a bad temper and very impatient with them. They have described being frightened of her and asked me not to raise my concerns when they tell me because they are worried my ex will get mad at them for telling me
• When the kids have been sick with high fevers in my custody she hasn't inquired once how they are doing, if we went to the doctor and ignores me filling her in
• When the kids are sick with her or have other medical issues she does not tell me. My son had a rash being treated behind his ear and he was here for 3 days before he told me it was really bothering him (itchy). I didn't continue treatment or provide treatment for days as I was unaware. Recently my daughter has had frequent nosebleeds and I only discovered when she herself brought it up "my nose is bleeding again" and it was the first time I heard of it
• My ex has been in therapy for a year now and regularly changing mental health medications and describing herself as foggy, not thinking straight
• Our kids met my ex's affair partner recently when they were both sick and the first meeting he was left with the kids for hours while their mother went to work. She then took the kids for a weekend getaway with him and his 3 teenage kids forcing them to stay the night instead of anything neutral and/or gradual
• She blocked my number 6 weeks ago after I texted her "it would be expected and courteous to advise me when showing up at my house to drop something off" when she just showed up one weekend morning on my doorstep. I now have no way to reach my children and talk in her custody and in an emergency when I have custody I cannot contact my ex.

It seems there's nothing I can do about this and just allow it to happen. It seems so wrong and broken to me that it requires a mother to basically be a severe drug addict living with a sexual predator for them to lose custody. Meanwhile the damage to my children's mental health is a paramount concern and I'm powerless.
Is there anything I can do to protect my children?

As the heading says my qualifications are Msc in Microbiology. Completed my masters in 2022. I sent my resume to multiple labs and industries but none of them reverted back. Maybe due to lack of experience.
After one year of no job I started applying to colleges and schools even though I had no interest in teaching. No replies from colleges since they need SET/NET qualified ones. Went for an interview to a school, got a job as Science teacher and since i have no B.ed they are not paying much.
So here I'm with Masters in Microbiology earning 10k per month.
My seniors suggested that I prepare for NET but again I have to give 4-5 more years for PhD. And I highly doubt that I would clear NET. I have seen several posts discussing about the politics in these Universities and how you need political influence and connections to get permanent jobs.
I don't want to give much more years with no guarantee of job. I am completely confused and now i have three options:

1. I do B.ed, which would take another two years and teach in schools which would only pay around 20k
   
2. I prepare for NET and do PhD (that too only if I clear it)
   
3. Take any BPO job cause my friend is earning 25k even though she has done only BSc.
   

I would like to work in industries but they need experience which I don't have.
Please tell me what I need to get a job which would pay me a decent amount.

I'm sure lots of other dads feel this, so I'm really just looking for some shared experience and perspectives so I know I'm not alone.
We all know life is pretty expensive right now. My wife and I are lucky that we have good jobs, but they demand a lot of us to keep our household stable and secure. We both work 8:30-5, and often after hours.
I just feel terrible sometimes that we see our kids for an hour in the morning, most of that time spent rushing them through breakfast and getting dressed.
Then we pick them up from daycare at 5:15, make them dinner, usually some TV time or maybe an outside walk if the weather is nice, and then it's bed around 7:30 (the kids are 4.5 and 3).
It's a total of like 3 hours with them, most of it interrupted by daily routine. We try to make it up on weekends but that's also our time for boring stuff like groceries and cleaning.
I dunno. It feels like they spend 8+ hours a day in school and away from us, the people they need right now. And the time we do spend together isn't quality enough (add to that being tired a LOT).
I'm sure others feel the same. Just looking for some similar experiences.

I was doing some research and found out that WFU has a Nov15 deadline scholarship with full ride. But, I have heard that these scholarships like in any other school are biased towards US National (obviously and i'm not complaining), but, I wanted to know if you know any international student who have received it?

This happened a while ago, but I’d love y’all’s feedback. I (18m) and my girlfriend (20f) went to visit a friend of ours from HS. Penny (22f) went to school a few states away in their capital and was staying for a summer term. She had a break before it began, no money to go anywhere, no friends left in town and wanted us to drive out to keep her company. We saved up some money, borrowed a car and drove 10 1/2 hours to get there. She was all excited to see us and said that she was taking us to a show that night at a club for driving all the way there. She said that we’d go dancing, so we brought one casual outfit to dance in, but she said it’d be fine for going to a show. She then told us that she couldn’t afford to feed us at all, so we were going to her grocery store to buy our food. She took us to the fanciest and most expensive food store that I have ever been in, even to this day. We got what we could afford and returned home kinda worn out by then, but she insisted we had to go to this show to that night. So she took us- and made us pay for the tickets ourselves. Apparently she thought that taking someone to a show was reserving tickets for them to pay for and Physically Taking Them To The Show. We were quite tired by the time the show ended kind of late that night and we had fun, but looked forward to bed. When we finally got home, she pulled out a big bottle of rum and magazines that she’d bought at the store and told us that we were going to make an anonymous threat letter to our old boss at a big box store we’d all worked at. She poured herself a drink and got to work looking for letters as we tried to stay awake. We weren’t offered any rum, or even water to drink while she got drunk over the TWO HOURS she spent threatening old Mr Carter. When she was finally done, Penny announced that we were all going to bed- and that her house rules were that me and my girlfriend were forbidden from having sex in her home. She went on and said she’d be able to hear it, that somehow she would be able to tell and that wasn’t something that grownups did - she simply wouldn’t stand for it and she would throw us out right away. With that she marched off to bed. We were both pretty shocked and I was just mad, not because we couldn’t sleep together but because she was ordering us around and would throw us out in the middle of the night. Mostly we were both offended because we weren’t the kind of people who would be tacky enough to obviously and intentionally have sex in a small apartment when we weren’t by ourselves.
Well, the rest of the time we had fun, believe it or not. I guess I’d forgotten how bossy Penny was, and Sam (my gf) was always deferential to her and she fell back in to that pretty fast, although it wasn’t sitting too well with her anymore and I was glad about that. This brings us to the end of the trip and our falling out: Sam and I were running out of money. We’d gone to a bunch of places, eating and drinking and shopping and had been pretty open and loud about our shrinking bankroll. We had enough for the gas to go home and an emergency fund which we weren’t going to use because we were responsible and realistic with money. Beyond that we had maybe $$25 for food or whatever on our way home. So it came as a shock when Sam came and told me on our last morning there that we were going out to dinner that night. Penny had told Sam that it was was customary for guests to treat their hosts for all their hospitality and either give them an expensive gift to complement their decor or treat them to a nice meal. Since she was renting, we were taking her out- and she had made the reservation weeks ago. I had never heard of this, but since my parents had no friends and hers didn’t entertain much, we honestly couldn’t say. I resented it from the beginning, because probably more than once a day, Penny had said this this smartass comment about how we should be really happy/thankful about her letting us stay at her place for free instead of having to pay for a hotel. Only, she wasn’t kidding, she meant it. As dinner approached, we realized that we’d have to blow all our money and probably a fair chunk of the emergency fund as well. We were waiting in our club clothes when Penny came out dressed up fancier than I had ever seen her except for senior prom. We both were immediately alarmed and wanted to know exactly where we were going. She said that it was just really the only nice place in town that the kids went to for nice dates, not that it was fancy. Sam asked about her dress and Penny said she just felt like looking nice for a change. Since she was a card carrying tomboy, Sam was sure we were under dressed. We both worked at upscale department stores and had killer wardrobes, so her not telling us that we were going to need a dress outfit was bullshit. On the way, Penny got more and more excited on the way there, telling us about how her friends had all been there and that she hadn’t because she couldn’t afford it. Alarm bells were now ringing in my ears and I was just about to say we shouldn’t go when she said that we’d arrived. She darted into the fanciest French restaurant in that state’s capital! Sam and I looked like Walmart wannabes while Penny flounced up and asked for her reservation. The walls were hung with silk, the chairs were gold leafed, and the prices were . . . I don’t know how to explain it. The menu looked normal on the left side that listed/described the extravagant food, but when I looked at what everything cost? It looked like a price list for diamond rings. Sam and I were stared at each other and quietly began discussing our options. I wanted to leave, just tell Penny that we couldn’t afford it either and that we’d take her somewhere else. Sam would not have that- she said that we’d be fine, spend the emergency money and move on. Penny had to have heard us saying all this, she had put down her menu and was looking at us when we looked up. Sam asked her what she was going to have, since we had realized that our options were based off of what whatever was leftover from her dinner. Surf and turf she said with a smile. The most expensive thing on the menu. Sam insisted that Penny get what she wanted for her dream meal; I insisted that Sam eat a meal, so she got the cheapest sandwich they had. I had a small side salad, Literally the cheapest thing they had. We had just enough for the bill and a miserable tip, which I still feel bad about.
I have probably never been so mad about a person doing something that they knew was wrong and did it anyway because they knew that they would get away with. I was done. That was it for me and Penny. I’m not able to hide my feelings about people who behave like this and she knew that I was angry. She felt that she had every right to be taken out to dinner and get whatever she wanted (I forgot to add that she purposely got the most expensive meal that was meant for 2 so she’d have food for days) and that I was being a bad guest for making her feel uncomfortable about it. She got all snarky about it towards me afterwards- like I cared- but it made trouble for Sam. It also probably made me and Sam end our 4 year relationship, too, or at least it started it. Which was a shame, really, but maybe for the best.
I still think that since she didn’t do anything for us- LITERALLY NOTHING- that we didn’t owe her shit. If she had fed us, at least once, given us something to drink, besides tap water, paid for our show tix, bought us drinks when we were out, Anything besides letting us sleep on her floor, which she kept making such a big deal about- saving us the price of a hotel. Well, we wouldn’t have needed a hotel if she hadn’t been so lonely and begged us to drive 21 hours and spend tons of money to amuse her. Yes we enjoyed it, but we would have had fun by ourselves at home with our friends, without repercussions for borrowing a car and would have had all that money to spend on things at home.

Or: Should I stay or should I go?
After my unexpectedly discussed post (thanks again, you wonderful peeps!) I've been rather busy: I've read volumes 2 and 3 of the Wheel of Time series within the last two weeks, book 4 is ready to go, but first I think I need a little break. The thing is: With each book, so it seems, RJ's narrative strengths become more apparent—the weaknesses, though, too. Moiraine continues to be evil incarnate to just about everyone, nearly every female character except her is somewhat identical, Nynaeve tugs her braid three times per paragraph, and men are from Mars, women from Venus. Either way, I can't help that I lost my heart somewhere between Emond's Field and the White Tower, I just have to take a breather so I don't get bogged down by its (few) weaknesses. Besides, I want this epic journey to last as long as possible. (As I type this, however, I'm starting to wonder if you wouldn't recommend that I continue with the series...)
So now it's time to ask the important question: What's next? What can keep up with WoT or even, dare I ask, surpass it? Malazan is too dark for me at the moment, I'm afraid. I still have the Dragonbone Chair with me as I'm currently travelling through Europe, but I'm worried that I'm going to run into Rand 2.0 here (let me know). Or do you recommend that I stick with WoT for the moment, no matter what? Do the female characters grow and develop in book 4? Will Nynaeve forget her braid at some point? Will we see more of Moiraine my beloved again? Or, more generally, how do you handle big series?
I had actually planned to start a shorter book or at least a shorter series in between, but, what can I say, I'm wide open to anything. I want the big and the epic; I want quests and magnificent landscapes; heroes and villains; give me the very best fantasy has to offer. Works that show why this genre is what it is. Why it is irreplaceable and important. However, since this is my first time dealing with a series as colossal as WoT, perhaps you'll steer me back in the other direction...
P.S. I can't say it enough. Thank you again—you have reaffirmed me with your comments and many messages and often made me smile during a during a persistently difficult time.

So I (F16) met this guy (M18) he’s from my schools sister schools and we met at a school party a month ago. He asked me for my socials after i complimented his outfit. Him and i are in the same grade and are only one year apart and get along really well, we’ve been texting every single day anywhere between 10 minutes to 2 hour long texting cessions. The best part is we really get along, we have similar music taste, we both do sports, we both have fairly good grades, like similar things, our biggest disagreement was on wether or not spiders or ants were less scary lmao. I don’t really think we fall into friends because we’ve been what I assume to be flirty (asking me if I’m dating anyone, liking my fit checks, hearting pictures we send each other, complimenting our looks and so on) and according to my friends that might fall under being a “situationship”
Well yesterday I texted him fairly late to ask him about his day like I usually do but he didn’t see it until the next morning where he answered telling me he had fallen asleep early last night and then casually told me something fun that happened during his day, I ended up asking him a few hours later when I finally opened his message (I didn’t know what to answer so I just didn’t open my socials that day) I ended up just saying that his day sounded like more fun than I did lmao and then asked “btw, wanna hang out sometimes” which he just answered “yuh, why not”.
I have no clue wether or not this means he actually wants to or if he might just be saying that to be nice, I’m actually really confused (I’m autistic btw) and I’ve just been not opening my phone at all for the last two hours since I don’t know how to react and don’t want to leave him on read. On top of that I can only hang out with friends when I’m at my dads which will be in 11 days and he already told me a week before about another subject that he never made plans until one or three days before when the plans happen and I wouldn’t want to make him uncomfortable by asking him so far beforehand.

2. Wether or not he’s even interested in me
3. And if he is, wether or not I should try to make plans with him

Hello! I need some advice. I recently got promoted from alternate to grantee for a fulbrighht ETA in Germany. I've been on the fence over whether to accept it or not, for several reasons:

1. I don't feel super connected to Germany, specifically the region that I was placed in, as much as I did at the time of my application. I would mostly be doing it to have the adventure of living in a new and different country, experiencing new things, etc. Which is cool.
2. The costs of moving there might be a bit to extreme, especially considering they don't pay you that much??? I'm currently doing a year teaching in Spain, and the costs of moving here were already significant. Before being promoted in Fulbright, I was considering doing another year here because my setup is very good (I like the school i work at, my apartment is very cheap). Because it's Spain, my stipend takes me pretty far as long as I don't travel -- I get to eat out pretty often etc. I don't think this would be the case in Germany (it's the same stipend as I have here in Spain which I think is crazy....right?)
3. After doing a year of teaching in Spain, I learned that I don't like teaching all that much. I was considering doing another year mostly because I like how much free time I have and will be using this free time to apply to graduate school etc. I fear if I went through a whole moving/adapting to a new place process again, I wouldn't have as much time to do this.
4. I am realllly really afraid I don't speak enough German.

All this being said, it is a Fulbright and it feels very stupid of me to let it go. Plus, the alumni network could be beneficial. Also, I do feel a connection to Berlin (where I was not placed) and plan on applying to grad schools there, so it would be a good opportunity to improve my German and also get a feel for living in the country?
Any and all advice is welcome, I have until the 20th to get back to them :)

A few points:

The winning audiences are getting 100% budget increase every 6th day - this seems to be holding stable on a lot of accounts i run
I have a retargeting segment running with 3 different variations of creatives explicitly asking for sale -
note the retarget creative is no where else in the ad sets in the funnel, its completely different
I tested ADV+ on this account with the following
20% existing customer cap 30% 40% 50%
split tested them all
CPA was double that off the old school setup i've been running
I know Facebook is causing a shit storm for everyone at the moment but i do think there is light at the end of the tunnel
Nothing fancy about this setup, nor any secret hacks - the difference i think is the quality of ads i'm running is very good

1.) Henri Curiel - Sephardi left wing activist from Egypt. Was very active in the anti-colonial movement in France.
2.) Uri Avnery - Israeli left wing activist who served in the Irgun, before becoming disillusioned with their tactics. Was a primary figurehead in the Israeli peace movement for decades.
3.) Natan Yellin-Mor - Former leader of Lehi turned peacenik. Transitioned the organization towards the end of it's existence towards a form of left wing nationalism. Later worked with Uri Avnery as a member of Semitic Action.
4.) Rav Yehuda HaKohen - Israeli settler activist who is the current head of the re-formed Semitic Action group. Promotes the ideology of Hebrew Universalism through the Vision Movement.
5.) Rabbi Menachem Froman - A founder of Gush Emunim, he later went on to be a fairly prominent peace activist in Judea & Samaria / the West Bank. He once drew up a peace plan that even Hamas agreed to, albeit it was never adopted.
6.) Shulamit Aloni - Served in the Palmach and later founded Ratz. She founded a school for refugee children and directly spoke out against ultranationalism in Israel throughout her entire career.

My sister is 11. I am 24(M). I struggle to communicate with her when our mom isn’t present. She lacks attention and respect and often starts yelling for little to no reason and asks us to leave her alone. She’ll slam doors and unironically roast your entire life and make fun of you when we don’t enable her to do whatever she wants. She does it less with my mom and a lot more with me, especially when our mom is busy or not there. She doesn’t clean after her self after any activity she does, she leaves plates with food all over the house and expects us to pick them up and clean after her, her room is a mess all the time. And if we call her out on it and try to make her understand why what she’s doing isn’t okay, she just gets mad and starts yelling and it turns into a shit show and nothing good comes out of it. My mom still manages to get her to take care of herself sometimes, but if she isn’t reminded of it by her, she’ll just act like nothing’s happened.
For context, we have a daycare in a family environment at home that my mom and I have been running for a couple of years and often time we can’t give my sister a lot of attention when she comes home from school right away because we have to take care off the kids and she loves getting attention so I feel like maybe this is something that she does to get it.
I’ve tried so many times to have a discussion with her and involving my parents as well and try to get her to change her ways and her attitude, but nothing ever happens. My parents just get tired of her and ignore her, but I don’t think thats the right approach since she keeps doing it. I’ve gotten mad at her too and also yelled because I have my limits as well and can’t stand to have someone yell in my ears for hours straight and to see her keep acting like this the last 3-4 years. I just don’t know how to deal with this situation to restore my relationship with my sister and help her change her attitude and I’m all out of ideas. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you

So I (F16) met this guy (M18) he’s from my schools sister schools and we met at a school party a month ago. He asked me for my socials after i complimented his outfit. Him and i are in the same grade and are only one year apart and get along really well, we’ve been texting every single day anywhere between 10 minutes to 2 hour long texting cessions. The best part is we really get along, we have similar music taste, we both do sports, we both have fairly good grades, like similar things, our biggest disagreement was on wether or not spiders or ants were less scary lmao. I don’t really think we fall into friends because we’ve been what I assume to be flirty (asking me if I’m dating anyone, liking my fit checks, hearting pictures we send each other, complimenting our looks and so on) and according to my friends that might fall under being a “situationship”
Well yesterday I texted him fairly late to ask him about his day like I usually do but he didn’t see it until the next morning where he answered telling me he had fallen asleep early last night and then casually told me something fun that happened during his day, I ended up asking him a few hours later when I finally opened his message (I didn’t know what to answer so I just didn’t open my socials that day) I ended up just saying that his day sounded like more fun than I did lmao and then asked “btw, wanna hang out sometimes” which he just answered “yuh, why not”.
I have no clue wether or not this means he actually wants to or if he might just be saying that to be nice, I’m actually really confused (I’m autistic btw) and I’ve just been not opening my phone at all for the last two hours since I don’t know. On top of that I can only hang out with friends when I’m at my dads which will be in 11 days and he already told me a week before about another subject that he never made plans until one or three days before when the plans happen and I wouldn’t want to make him uncomfortable by asking him so far beforehand.
