30 June -8 July fly to Dallas, take a rental van and stay in Dallas for 3 nights exploring nearby places
3-5 July Dallas to Baton Rouge explore New Orleans and nearby places then drive to San Antonio and be there for 3 nights 5-8 July on 8 go to Dallas and fly to sfo
10 July take a rental car to redwoods, yachats, Seattle and back via Lake Tahoe to sfo on 18 July
Can anyone suggest what not to miss and do
We would prefer a mix of city and national parks

Bit of a random one, I'm a big New Orleans fan boy from the UK, won't go through it all but have visited the city around 10 times over the years, watched Saints play in multiple cities, have a group of friends in New Orleans that we visit/they visit us in UK, sons godmother lives in New Orleans and so on.
Anyway, I'm in the middle of a tattoo project, I started with a Saints fleur-de-lis and I'm slowly increasing them. I now have a Hornets one, LSU one, and a couple of custome ones (my soccer club badge in a Fleur-de-lis, the Bray Wyatt logo in fleur-de-lis) and plans for a few others (Pelicans, a custom star wars one, a custom nordic one) etc.
It's for a sleeve that will extend to my chest and shoulders.
Are there any iconic ones i should look at to incorporate?

I was on a flight DL2432 from Atlanta to New Orleans Friday. The flight was delayed because the previous flight arrived late. The Flight Attendants were working really hard to make everyone's luggage fit. The flight was full and the flight attendants were playing Tetris with bags to make them fit. This older man gave one of the Flight Attendants absolute shit because she tried to adjust his garment bag in the overhead bin. Me and my seatmates were shocked and uncomfortable with how he spoke to her. She spoke up for herself but we felt really bad for her. I spoke to her briefly and gave her kudos for standing up for herself when I was getting off the plane. He and his travel partner were discussing reporting her.
I have his physical description and seat number. Who should I contact to report him. I don't want her to get fired because he was being a total d*** to her.

My sister (31) and I (29) treated our mom (64) to a weekend-long Mother’s Day celebration, including the beach, her favorite show, and ending with a seafood dinner.
My mom is a loving, boisterous, and compassionate person, but she also has a history with abuse that, when she’s triggered emotionally, can come out in ugly ways. She has a habit of taking mistakes as personal attacks, and instead of forgiving or even just being frustrated and calling it a day, she will take her anger out on people who don’t deserve it.
Unfortunately, this happens with wait staff when they mess up an order or behave in a way that she considers subpar. In fact, a few years ago, we went to a separate seafood restaurant, and she rudely accused our waiter of mistreating her when her crab legs came out cold. A huge fight ensued between us afterward.
Fast forward to this past Mother’s Day, and again, my mom mentions her crab is cold. The waitress offers to take the dish and replace it with a warmer dish. But unfortunately they come back to tell us they’ve run out of crab, which only frustrates my mom further.
I can tell she’s growing more upset, so we (my sister and I) insist she orders another dish since the restaurant was willing to comp it for her, and she can at least enjoy a meal. She agrees, and at first it seems like things will be okay. But later, when our waitress gives my sister her drink and walks away from the table, my mom calls after her with a glare. She tells the waitress she wanted another martini as if the waitress was supposed to read her mind and know. When the waitress comes back with the martini and picks up the empty glass, my mom snatches the empty glass from her and pours a small dribble of the old drink into the new.
Seeing the early signs of how things went down in previous years, I told my mom that she’s being rude, and I’m discomforted by her behavior. She goes into defense mode and demands to know what she did that was so wrong. She kept saying she has a right to send food back, and I said that wasn’t the issue, it was her treatment of the waitress, and now, also, the way she was speaking to me that made me uncomfortable.
We’ve made so much progress as a family, and I didn’t want to end the night with a massive argument, so instead of further engaging, I told her one last time that it wasn’t about sending the food back, it was about her bullying behavior. If she wasn’t going to de-escalate, I would leave. She didn’t, and so I did.
I feel like the AH because she said I ruined her Mother’s Day and that we “set her up” just to crush her joy. That wasn’t at all my goal. We did so much to make her weekend special. While I’m saddened, I’m glad I left instead of arguing like it seems she wanted. Still, I feel guilty. I love my mom. I didn’t want things to end like this. AITA? Is there any advice from people who have parents like this?

Heres my idea for an open world crime based action adventure game:
I want a modern open world game with modern graphics, modern physics, driving and combat mechanics, the whole 9 yards, but it takes place in New Orleans LA in the Early 2000’s, the game would have hundreds and hundreds of licensed cars, licensed songs ALL period correct and as many licensed brands as i can get in the game to make the setting more resemble real life, we’ve seen so many fantasy brands and fake cities and companies based off real life companies and i want to change that, i want all electronics of the era to be 100% accessible and usable in the game, everything from Motorola Razr’s, PDA’s, Laptops and The Internet in FULL early 2000’s style, Alpine and Sony X-Plod Car Headunits etc
Im going to say this now: there would be ZERO references or mentions of Hurricane Katrina in this game, the timeline would be 2002 to Summer 2005 before Katrina, Katrina wouldn’t be mentioned as it wouldn’t exist
The story is about a young transgender woman in her 20’s who lives in the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans, she drives a beat up 80’s-Early 90’s Pontiac at the start of the game and lives with her sister, at the beginning of the game nobody respects her, misgenders her and deadnames her, the idea is to hit the nail on the head with how trans people are treated on a daily basis, she progresses through the underground hustling ranks of New Orleans after being offered a job and proves to be someone who will go to great lengths to get the job done, everything from street racing in a scene that fully captures Early 2000’s tuner culture, winning cars in pinkslip races, shootouts from deals gone bad in nightclubs, encounters with corrupt police officers etc, at the end of the game shes a wealthy kingpin in the city and has earned the respect of mostly everyone and everyone speaks highly of her, i also want to slip in alot of little references to games and franchises i love like Earthbound, Clock Tower, Tony Hawk’s Underground 2, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Bad Boys, Need For Speed etc and make the user interface and menus feel like its from the Early 2000’s but also pay homage and respect to New Orleans Mardi Gras and jazz culture and for the world to be crammed full of life with NPC’s, animals, weather, random events, random encounters and interactions and basically how it would be in real life
The map i want to be the most accurate virtual recreation of New Orleans ever done just circa 2002-2005, i want as many enterable interiors in the game as possible, i want to include everything from Jazzland Theme Park, the Bayou areas, Lake Pontchatrain, East New Orleans, The SuperDome, the then New Orleans Arena next door, Shopping Malls, Car Dealerships for each brand in the game, Upper class Neighborhoods, Trailer Parks, Nightclubs, bars and of course the French quarter and Canal Street
I also want to take customization to a whole new level, give a Sims like ability to customize, furnish and build your home and character however you like, and of course the Early 2000’s fashion will be in full swing here, i want the most in-depth car customization of any game ever, its the early 2000’s after all, i want body kits, bumpers, hoods, wings, headlights and tail lights, the ability to customize the headunit in your car, put subwoofers in the trunk, rims, spinners, donks, lambo doors, underglow and of course in depth performance upgrades ALL parts be name brand, like Bomex body kits, TYC tail lights, JL Audio Amps, Subwoofers, Lowenhart, Lexani, Asanti, DUB and TIS rims, APR aluminum wings etc, i basically want to make the customization in Need For Speed Underground 2 look like a mobile game
And the car list, i want to have over 600 fully licensed cars in the game minimum and be fully customizable down to every single part, since the plot of the game starts in 2002 and ends in 2005, i want NOTHING newer than 2006 in the game
Cadillac Escalade, Hummer H2 and Chrysler 300C are a must, but i also want to have the 99-04 Mustang, both V6 and GT, Ferrari 360 Modena, Spider and Challenge Stradale, Ferrari 550, Lamborghini Murcièlago and Gallardo, but also include more common lesser loved cars like the Chevy Cavalier, Pontiac Sunfire, Pontiac Grand Am, Geo Metro, Dodge Neon, Chrysler Concorde, Chevy Celebrity, Ford Taurus etc, and of course i’ll have bikes, boats, planes, helicopters and all other types of vehicles

I went back to school as an adult. I'm 32 and have been back in school for 1 year. However despite being 32, most people think I look in my 20s, like 23-25.
I will tell you I absolutely love being in college. The people I meet, the trips we take. I'm really trying to make the most of this experience. I'm currently maintaining a 4.0 GPA but I'm also in a few different clubs. I'm in the process of starting a Billiard's club. I'm working in an internship over the summer and just got offered a job for when the internship is over. We go skiing and mountain biking and take trips to conferences in NYC and New Orleans and all over the place. After working bs jobs and working open to close and dealing with customer service etc etc, college is like an escape to a resort. However, a problem tends to come up when my age is brought up..
Everyone I meet we tend to hit it off. We get along in class, in club meetings, on the trips we take etc. I'll get invited over for poker games or cookouts. Everything is great. Then I get asked my age... And I tell them 32 and I just see their entire body language shift. They are genuinely shocked and they'll tell me they thought I was just a really mature 23 year old. At first I just took it as flattering, thinking surely all of the good times we've had won't get outweighed by my age.. but it does seem to make a difference to them. I won't get invited as much, they won't want to hang out on campus. Sometimes I ask myself why do I care what a bunch of kids who are 12 years younger than I am thinks but it just sucks getting dismissed for something that is out of your control and doesn't change who I am or the quality of engagement I bring.
At first I thought it was just the one group, but then it would happen again. Great times with new people I met, then get asked my age, then ghosted. So my question is is it ok to just lie? I feel like if I just told them I was 24 that they wouldn't feel so weird and we could keep hitting it off. But part of me feels like I shouldn't have to lie and if they really don't want to hang out with me just because of my age I should just move on and think of it as their loss.
And listen I'm not asking if I should lie so I can be a weirdo. I'm not asking about sleeping with girls or trying to do anything unethical. I'm just looking for a second perspective on considering this so I can make the most of this decision to go back to school. I mean don't women lie about their age all the time?

Greetings, friends! I am Outcast but I also go by Necromes just don't call me late for the graveyard party, huh? Okay I'm sorry.
Anywho, a little tiny bit about me is I am currently 21(M) but turn 22 on the 24th of this month. I have over ten years of writing experience that I am still at times trying to perfect or even change up for every roleplay to find one that suits me. I can write from advanced lit to novella easily. I don't do one liners and I will not roleplay with minors of any age; only 18+. Smut is off the table, I only do romance and slow burn romance at that. I am not here for your visceral satisfaction.
I am here today to offer up a Vampire: The Masquerade TTRPG play-by-post/text-based roleplay within the universe. Now, I must admit that I was a bit hesitant to write this post because I have a few ocs but non of them are properly finished by sheets. The good thing is I'm one of those roleplayers who like to gush over and discuss plots and roleplay a lot before even starting because the care of ocs and plot is just as important to me.
I have been on and off on the VtM fandom since 2019, a friend of mine introduced me to it and I've been hooked to it from a distance for years and after some personal stuff happened I've decided to delve into it solo and its been fun, doing my own thing but doing it solo means I'm alone in it pretty much. I want to have some fun and use them. Let's do that.
We can do quite a lot, a few of my ocs have a specific vibe to them and a setting that I'd prefer to talk about later on since I cannot choose what kinds of plots I want premeditated. I'm honestly in the process of being stuck on adding to my OC lists and want to make more for almost every clan so having somebodu to help create new OCs with is perfectly valid.
I will list a few ocs.

• Samuel Wyrick-Giovanni ; Polish Giovanni capo based in New Orleans.
• Arnie Volkov ; Russian Malkavian who is an extreme conman.
• Drake Mannon ; Highly functioning sociopathic Tremere who was a former cultist. (My personal favorite, but he seems dry to me so I'd like to try him out.)
• Elijah Ardelean ; Ravnos, L.A Anarch who is the Anarch's thieving spy. A pretty boy. Also a cat dad.

I also have a few ocs that are kept as backburners and maybe a few other ocs ideas I intend on making and, hey, who knows maybe these interactions can give me new ideas.
I would prefer to use Drake as he is my newest and most hyperfixated on. I wrote him into a box where he doesn't seem to have much personality when it comes to interactions because I haven't used him yet and he was written for a server that largely has no plot so he has no predetermined goals as of yet and I would like to utilize him and test him out.

Note: I am looking for a long-term relaxed and chill roleplay experience. I have immense ADHD and Autism and get burnt out very quickly and I'd rather take my time to create the best RP response I can muster up than be forced or egged on post after post with no energy. As long as you are okay with varying response window times and are okay with the quality in the end and also have time to chill and talk about OCs on the offtime or on the side then that is perfect.

(Smaller note, a side note if you will; I have recently been trying to get into Shadowrun and have been itching for a Shadowrun/Fantasy Sci-Fi Cyberpunk RP so if you want to undermine this for that go right ahead because I'm addicted to both rn. [I'm still a rookie.])

• If you're down with Shadowrun/Cyberpunk Fantasy, I've got an orc male, young rookie on a rep and revenge kick. Had two cybernetic arms and carries dual pistols, is kind of a hardheaded weapons expert who comes from a family of mercenaries. Specialist in certain things just not professionalism, etiquette, or business finesse and can be considered the brute. Hes a good guy, a lot of personal baggage and personal rage issues but isn't a psycho case nor a squeaky clean rookie.

Any recommendations on places to see that I might not find in a tourist guide? We like hiking, birdwatching and photography but also open to new experiences.
As for places to eat, we like good take out and food trucks. Love to know where to get the best Santa Maria bbq and seafood.

Currently planning my trip to the Bay Area during the Fourth of July weekend. I'm staying with my uncles and have visited once before where we knocked out many of the more touristy places in SF like the ferry building, fisherman's wharf, palace of Fine Arts, DeYoung, Golden Gate Park, and even Muir Woods and the Sutro baths. I also visited UC Berkley and explored around there for a day.
I was hoping to get some suggestions of places to visit/activities on my trip, although I'm planning to spend a day in SF they don't have to be centered there as I would like to branch out and see some new sites also. Open to light hiking, beaches, food recs (especially seafood), museums, flea markets, and guided tours; basically, I am open to anything besides drinking/bars.
Any and all suggestions are much appreciated.

With such a disparity between the homes that are on the market and those that are pending or closed, it shows that a majority of the homes on the market are over priced.
We are witnessing multiple offers on homes that are under priced or priced correctly and also witnessing homes sit on the market for months.
Buyer?
There are deals to be had. A higher interest rate environment is when you have less competiton and more homes to choose from. If you can buy now, don't wait for all the other buyers to enter the market when the conditions are better. In this market you can negotiate closing costs credits, interest rate buy downs, and help with insurance like roof replacements.
Seller?
Pricing your home correctly, staging, re-painting, professional photography, all of this is now the bare minimum to get buyers viewing your space. Buyers are out there but they want a deal or concessions that you can offer. Don't place your house on the market before knowing your absolute Net once you close.
Investor?
The multifamily market is very interesting right now. There are almost 10 months of inventory in our Parish right now with the average $/SqFt for Doubles coming in at $156/SF this same time last year the average was $172/SqFt...

I know New Orleans is pretty queer in general I’ve lived here majority of my life but I’m struggling to find places that are mostly queer people and more specifically for lesbians. I've since taken the dog to bark market and tracked down the owner. To make a long, sad story short; the owners don't want her.
I've also taken her to the vet, got her shots updated and recieved confirmation she is in good health. She's potty trained, can sit and lay down. She is great on walks too. She's cool with strangers and other animals (dogs and cats). She's also a quick learner. She figured out how to open our bedroom door in about 30 seconds. Yesterday, I tried to dance with her. she stared in confusion at first, but then she started bouncing her butt to the music and it was one of the greatest things I've ever seen, lol.
She's extremely sweet. She adores cuddling, including with my dog and cats. She doesn't seem interested in toys, nor has she chewed on anything. Her only behavioral problem is that she will grab food off the table, ground, cat bowl, etc; but she was also starving and under wieght when we found her. Shes scavenging less and less every day, and placing the cat bowl on the counter solved that problem. She will bark if someone is at the door, which is good or bad depending on the owner preference.
I dont understand how her family could give her up, especially without even attempting to find her a good home. Sometimes, i feel like I can see her sadness in her eyes. I did my best to convince them to take her back, even offering to purchase her food for a year. They weren't interested. I'm sure it's for the best, but having to rehome this dog again breaks my heart.
In any case, I already have 3 pets and can't take on another. I'm hoping to find a loving home for her. I want to give her to her next owner as opposed to another foster because I want to minimize the amount of rehoming she goes through. She can stay with me until the right fit comes along. If you or someone you know is looking at adopt a kind, well-behaved dog that's potty-trained, healthy, good with other animals and a fantastic dancer; please send me a PM. I'm not looking for a rehoming fee but I want to vet the adopter in order to ensure she goes to a good home. Thanks!

My wife is flying home to GSP through Charlotte from New Orleans. Her flight from Charlotte to Greenville was delayed until tomorrow morning. I am going to pick her up in Charlotte and bring her home since it's only a couple of hours away. She tried to get her luggage, but she was told that it might show up on the belt. It never did. Is that luggage automatically going to be sent on to Greenville in the morning, or is there a chance it will be pulled from the flight when she doesn't get on the plane and we will have to come all the way back up here to grab it?
