2024.05.14 18:42 ImaginationTop5017 Fair Counteroffer for Pain and Suffering

TL;DR Partner and I were involved in a car accident last year. We were fully stopped at a red light when two cars collided and smashed us at full speed. Accident was serve enough to deem all three cards totaled. We submitted Bodily Injury claim for my partner. We received ~$3000 in Pain and Suffering. Need help estimating a fair counteroffer.
Details below: Injuries: my partner had a concussion without loss of consciousness. His head, neck, and back were smashed. No broken bones. He went to the ER after the accident and had scans done. He was referred to physical therapy by a Primary Care Provider. After attending 6 physical therapy sessions, range of motion improved, but he is still suffering from pain 6 months later. After 2 months of physical therapy, he stopped as he was no longer benefiting from it and it was causing work interruptions, and continued doing PT exercise at home. He is having difficulty sleeping, and was not able to lift weights or engage in sports for all this period. Total medical bills is around $10,000 (mainly due to the high ER bill) which was covered by the car insurance Medical Coverage and personal health insurance. I was in the car too and suffered from minor injuries from the shattered glass and I was too afraid to drive for two months following the accident. Insurance company denied a bodily injury claim for me as I did not go to the EPCP, which, although inconvenient, is understandable.
Based on the medical treatment he received, they are offering a little less than $3000 in pain and suffering, and covered his lost wages for 3 days. However, we want to negotiate this offer as they did not fully take into account his current situation and the ongoing impact of the accident. Once we gave them more information, they acknowledged the impact of the accident on his daily life and have asked us to make a counteroffer.
Our hope is not to take advantage of the insurance company and try to benefit from this awful accident. However, we want to be fair to ourselves too. I understand insurance company cannot make us whole. However, we feel that $3000 is very low considering the pain he went through and the uncertainty of future recovery and this justifies a higher compensation. We are concerned that issues with neck and back can sometimes reappear years later and we will be left on our own once the claim is closed. I would appreciate your thoughts on a fair counteroffer amount? Note: We feel that perusing a lawyer at this stage is already late. This was our first car accident and weren't aware of the correct course of action early on. Thank you!

2024.05.14 18:40 Unlikely-Database-27 What are some legit places to look for work from home jobs, data entry or otherwise that aren't linkedin or indeed?

The reason I ask is because linkedin has a lot of remote jobs focused on data entry, but nearly every one I've applied to has actually been a survey scam. Email you within 5 minutes with "Next steps" regarding making an account somewhere etc. Or maybe I just need better search filters? Is linkedin not the place anymore? Everybody still raves about it, but is that just for connections rather than job hunting? Indeeds ok as well, but could be better. I'm aware of appen also but hasn't it been going to shit lately? Or have things gotten better these past few months. On that note though, are any of those contract work sites doing alright? I wouldn't rule those out either. Thanks all. Oh and almost forgot: I'm in canada.

2024.05.14 18:38 Dj_obZEN A Tough Decision to Make....

I had a plan to finish mixing the last few tracks and move on to the next project. I'm thinking about making another music video or two for the current tracks I have out. The problem is, as I learn more about the music production process and learn new things I've come to realize just how bad my mixes are. Everytime I learn something new, I take 1 step forward, 2 steps back.
I learned how to generate music using ai, but the song arrangements are terrible. Okay, I know how to arrange music, but the mix sounds terrible and there's all kinds of noise. Okay, I learned how to apply noise reduction and spectral analysis to reduce the noise, but now I reduced too much and parts of the song are gone making it less interesting. Okay, so I learned how to use equalization and manipulate the frequencies, but I didn't account for how it would sound on differernt speakers.
So that's where I am right now. Okay, I improved the mix somewhat, it does sound slightly better on MY speakers, but if you play it on a different setup, like say a cellphone which most people are probably using these days, and it sounds completely different and it's terrible. So now I'm back to square 1. I've come to realize why it takes months for artists to release music after they're done recording because mixing and mastering is a meticulous process that takes a lot of time and concentration. Aside from that, you must be knowledgeable about all aspects of sound frequency and sound reproduction.
Well I'm not going to give up. All that means is that I have more to learn, that's no problem. The downside is that it might take even longer for me to put more music out. But I have a solution. I'm going to take some time to study for a few weeks. In the mean time, I'm going to focus on growing my channels. Since I'm working with AI music, a good portion of what's required to produce music doesn't apply (recording and working with artists/execs) so I can cut down on the learning curve by avoiding all that and focus completely on mixing and mastering.
The solution I have, is in the mean time, I will produce some more Udio songs to fill out "Legends of the Time Dragon" and have that be an Udio album. I may also produce some stray Suno songs that don't belong to any albums yet and put out the unmixed versions for people to listen to. That should keep some fresh content rolling out to keep people interested while I level up my mixing and mastering for a few weeks and continue to work on the next project, which is amazing and I have been wanting to say a few words about it.
So I will close out this blog post with a preview of what my next project is going to be like. I want all the songs to come out at the same time like an actual release, so I might just be a blogger for a little while and just post blogs to all my lurkers about all the awesome music I'm making that nobody gets to listen to.
So here is what I have to say about it. I want to leave a clue but I can't think of anything that's not going to make it obvious. The clue is "origin of darkness", this is the subject of the album. It's going to be a concept album. It's way more focused than my previous work, which was really just a result of experimentation and didn't have much focus. I have 4 songs so far that are 90-95% finished in recomposition. I'm going to say some words about each song for those people who like to read and can maybe visualize things in their mind. 3 of the songs are gothic pop metal similar to "Time Dragon Warrior" and the last song I just made is a heavier metal song that's more numetal hardcore/metalcore vibe. Another note, I'm doing away with the mirrored halfs structure that I used for some of the previous songs and giving them more variety. I plan to have around 15 songs and I'm not sure yet if it will be a mix of Suno and Udio, or if I should make Suno albums and Udio albums exclusively. So far, this album is all Suno.
- song #1 - This song I want to be in the beginning of the album maybe somewhere 2-3. It has kind of a modern sound. I don't listen to modern music so I don't really know but it's kind of gothic pop metal. It's not very heavy but it's very ominous and eerie sounding. I want it to be in the beginning because that's where it sits in regards to the concept I'm working with. It should actually be the first or second based on that but I don't want a pop-ish song to be the opener for the album, or the 2nd track. It's a great song but I want the album to have a heavier overall sound but we shall see. This song has female vocals. Aside from the gothic aspect it also sounds slightly rnb hip hop ish (in comparison) but that's not to say it's rnb or hip hop, far from it, more like tinted.
- song # 2 - This song will probably go somewhere in the middle. This is another of the goth/pop/metal but is a little more dynamic than the previous song, not to say the other song is not dynamic, this one just has a higher range and is a little bit heavier. Aside from the goth/pop sound, the metal aspect is kind of doomy power metalish. The previous song is catchy, but this song is really catchy (and doomy for those who like doom). There is a section that gives me SOAD polka vibes from one of the songs on their self titled, and the next section is grandiose, epic power metal that sounds like angels proclaiming their glory. Then before you get too comfortable with these feelings of power, some really doomy chords to remind you this song is about doom. The song goes back to that glorious sound but now there is some unease because it feels like doom is just lurking. The metal aspect is all power metal. The end is all doom, it's not too heavy or evil but very doomy. Great for people who like playing rpgs I will say that.
-song #3 - This song is going to be close to the end. This is the 3rd of the goth/pop/metal songs and is very poppy but it's super dreamy and eerie sounding. It gives me similar vibes of "Twin Peaks" theme song at times but is a heaver kind of metal song. The metal aspect is like dark, melodic numetal. It's not a heavy song, but it has some crunch similar to a not so heavy Deftones song. The song is kind of beautiful in a way, but also kind of dark and awe inspiring. Of the 3 of these, I would rank them in the reverse order I listed them, with this one being the best. The other songs are great though, but this song is just..wow. Sound wise and concept wise, it's mind blowing. This song has female vocals.
- song #4 - This song will probably be in the beginning. Out of these 4, this one is definitely my favorite and the last song I worked on. This song is actually half of a suno generation, 10% of another and maybe 25% of another song, but it sounds really badass. The style of the song is more numetal metalcore. This is closer to the music I actually want to make. For example, "Embrace the Chaos", "Through Time Dragons", "A World of Broken Dreams" minus the power metal and instead insert "Time Dragon Warrior" and that's maybe my ideal sound. When I heard the songs though, I thought they sounded pretty good though and is an interesting mix of styles I never thought could go together, so I rolled with it.
This song though, not fully close to my vision but it's getting closer. This song is definitely the heaviest so far. It starts off kind of quiet with eerie piano keys, kind of horror sounding, then it kicks it into a slight metalcore chord progression before kicking into a higher gear, which is similar to the fast verses from the previous tracks on self titled. What I really like about this song is how bouncy and aggressive the chorus is. This whole time I've been wanting to make bouncy, heavy songs but I had a hard time getting that in Suno for a while. I just got some ideas for manipulating Suno though, I will have to try those out. I still have enough credits for maybe 100 songs that expire in a few days so I gotta put those to use.
Well yeah, that is it. That's a description of the first 4 songs I have right now for the next project I'm working on. I already know what I'm going to call it and I can visualize what the cover is going to be like. This is going to be a very dark and bleak album, but the sound will have a very wide variety. Until next time when I make another blog post. I hope you all had the attention span to make it this far.
hasta la vista bebe

2024.05.14 18:38 stuffmyfacewmomos Passed the PMP exam AT/AT/T

First of all, thank you so much for this community and the people who have responded to my questions and provided helpful tips and tricks - I could not have passed without y'all's guidance. I do not have formal project management experience, I have a PhD in Social Sciences so I had experience managing research projects and am currently working in government, so I manage small and medium size projects. Here is my experience and some tips that may help you as you are preparing for the exam:
[These are all my personal experiences]
  1. General: This is not an easy exam: Please study all the processes, abbreviations, specific contents within subtopics (such as what are the 5 ways to deal with negative risks, etc). Although everyone says you don't need to memorize, there are some things that memorizing will help you out a lot in addition to understanding.
  2. Study Materials: Primarily used AR's Udemy course for preparation - he was my best friend for 3 months. I watched that course twice in 1.75 speed, and took detailed notes on processes. Got 75% on his mock exam. I bought study hall and I used it for the mock exams and practice questions. I scored 63% on the first mock and 67% on the second [with expert questions]. On the mini sections, I would score 65-70 with expert questions and 83-85 without expert. I realized that the expert questions just confused me, so I started ignoring them closer to the exam date. I have a long commute to work, so I also listened to Scott Payne's PMP prep book on Audible. This guy is so fun and incredible, and uses very engaging case studies to help you learn. If you're like me and are able to focus on audiobooks, I strongly recommend him. I only discovered David Maclachlan a week-ish before the exam date, so I would just look at his YouTube videos for 30 mins - 1 hour before going to bed.
  3. Mindset: Nail this down. Even when questions seemed confusing, AR's mindset came to my rescue because I was at least able to eliminate choices that deal with escalating things to the management. Along with his mindset, here are some things that I learned by doing the questions again and again:
4. Exam day prep: EAT and hydrate please. I was so nervous, so I thought I wasn't hungry, but I downed a whole sandwich before the test (It was at 2 PM, I am not a morning person), and that helped me sustain my pace throughout the exam. I used the two breaks and drank water and did some stretches. I asked the test center people for a calculator and they gave it to me, although there was no question that required any calculation.
  1. Other: I blocked at least 2 hours per weekday for 3 months to study
I hope this note helps you as you are preparing for your certification, I am rooting for you!

2024.05.14 18:36 Upper-Mouse763 Crackling sound ear when swallow and grinding sound when moving jaw sometimes

Hello. All the problems stated in the title started 13 days ago. I was lying on my bed after the dinner and all of a sudden i felt like some saliva stuck on my throat. After that feeling I'm dealing with these problems. Everytime i swallow(saliva or food) i hear a crackling sound in my left ear. The sound is like when you have water in the ear and is stuck for a few second in it. I also developed a sand/ grinding sound in my left ear when i move my jaw. This sound only shows up sometimes, after eating or even moving my head to the left. I also noticed that when there is not sand sound in the jaw, when i bite i hear a small click in the jaw or ear(left part of thw face) . I went first to emergency care 9days ago and told me i don't have infection in the ear. 3 days later i was told by my gp that no infection was found although my left ear was a little bit red. She didn't prescribed me anything but told me to go to the dentist. 2 days ago i went to emergency care again and told me i have ear infection. I was prescribed antibiotics and nasonex nasal spray. I still haven't noted any improvements, i even have small spams in my right ear but i don't know if this is stress. I have appointment with a ent tomorrow and with the dentist next week. My questions are?
I have the feeling thay all these was caused by reflux acid. This is because of the saliva stuck feeling i had. Can these problems be caused by gerd?
If this is caused by tmj of tmd, does this have a solution?
I also have a weird feeling in my throat like if it is irritated. This increases my worries that this is acid reflux. Thanks for reading.

2024.05.14 18:30 rojasdracul Kass and Cilla (Beginning)

Day One:
‘Hey, did it work? Can you hear me?’ the tinny, female voice asked. All was dark, then, light. Slowly, his vision cleared and he saw the sky. The sun. Then, a small floating thing that bobbed and danced excitedly over him. ‘You're alive! Finally! I've been looking for you for a long time Guardian!’ that same voice said. It seemed to be coming directly into his ear from a speaker. He sat up and placed his hands on his head. A helmet was there. He began to gasp and panic, trying to remove it. ‘Hey, what are you doing? Calm down….’ the voice said. The helmet disappeared. He drew in a breath. The air was foul with a fetid undertone.
‘What the fuck? What are you? Where am I?’ He asked the thing which was now spinning and dancing in front of him. He coughed and placed his arm over his mouth. The stench was almost unbearable. The helmet rematerialized as soon as he moved his arm.
‘Sorry, but the air here is toxic. Not lethal, but not pleasant. Too many corpses rotting. I replaced the helmet to filter it. My name is Cilla, and I'm a Ghost. YOUR Ghost. I'll explain more about that later, but the long and short of it is you were dead for centuries and I brought you back.’ it said.
‘Dead? Centuries? Wait…. Why can't I remember anything from before I woke up here, who am I?’ He asked. ‘And what do you mean a ghost? Like you're also a dead person?’
‘No, Guardian. I'm more like a piece of the Light that brought you back. It's a long story and we will have time to go over it. Let's get you moving though. We are a long way from the city, and this area hasn't been patrolled or swept like ever. We need to move, who knows what kind of threats have been hiding here’ Cilla said.
‘Where is here, exactly? And which city?’ He asked as he stood up. He looked down and saw he was wearing a kind of robe like garment with gloves, pants, and armored boots. An armlet was fastened around his bicep. ‘And what the fuck am I wearing?’
‘This was once called Romania I think, these are the Carpathian mountains. At least that's what historical records I could find indicate. And you are wearing armor Guardian. You are a Warlock, which means you are powerful, curious, and capable of amazing things. Let's get moving. Seriously, this isn't a safe place. You did die here once already after all.’
He looked around. There wasn't much to see other than the wild beauty of a dark forest run wild that had retaken the civilization that was wiped out. It was haunting and lovely. But there was a hint of something….. dark. He looked down, and saw he was standing on a pile of bones in the remains of an old uniform. A piece of metal twinkled in the ruins of it's ribs. He bent and picked it up. As he brushed the dirt and grit off he asked the Ghost ‘Was this me?’
‘No, your body was reconstituted, that was the one you were on top of….’ She said. He looked down at the tag he had picked up. It read ‘Kassien’
‘Well, then they don't need the name anymore, and apparently I don't have one…. I guess you can call me Kassien instead of guardian.’ He said.
Cilla swooped. ‘Kassien! I like it!’ She said and spun in the air. Her voice was pleasant and slightly sultry. Weird. ‘Now let's move. There is the remains of an installation a few kilometers away. We probably won't find a ship there but maybe some weapons and a way to contact the city.’ she said.
‘OK, let's go. You can fill me in as we walk. First off, what's a Warlock?’ he said. He jumped down off of the mound he had awoken on, and was shocked to find himself gliding slowly down to the ground. ‘What the fuck, I can fly?’ he asked.
‘Not exactly’ Cilla said laughing a bit. ‘Warlocks can glide amongst other abilities. Let's cover the basics as we walk’ she said. And as he walked she explained about the Traveler, the Darkness, the collapse from the Golden Age, and the Guardians. By the time they reached the ancient military facility, he was reeling with it all.
‘So, I'm a space wizard?’ Kass asked. He looked at his hands and concentrated. She claimed he had this power of light flowing through him, and wanted to test it out. At first there was nothing, then, a bright ball of yellowish orange energy flickered into existence in his hand. In his shock he lost his focus and it exploded, taking his hand and lower arm with it. Blood was everywhere. The pain was searing and intense. ‘What the fuck!? Cilla!’ He shouted. She popped out if his backpack and floated there. She did nothing. He bled and the world turned black.
Then he was back. His arm was fine. There wasn't even a singed thread on his glove. ‘What just happened?’ Kass asked. He flexed his hand. No pain. He felt fantastic.
‘Well, you tried to use your power, formed a grenade, blew your own arm off, and bled to death…’ she said. There was a slight bit of humor in her voice. ‘Then I brought you back. I could have healed it, but I thought it best to get the whole ‘You are going to die over and over’ thing out of the way. That is part of the deal, boss. You can die again and again and it hurts every time, but I will always bring you back as long as I am not destroyed or the Light isn't choked off by the Darkness.’ she said.
‘That's kind of fucked up, but yeah, rip the bandage off I guess….’ he said sardonically. He walked over to the dark, gaping entrance and peered inside. ‘Don't suppose you know where we could find a light, do you?’ Cilla made no reply, but floated over his left shoulder and shot a focused beam of bright light into the darkness. ‘Nice, Cilla’
‘Thanks, Boss!’ she said and spun in the air. ‘I scanned the area, looks like there was an armory not too far inside. Maybe there are some guns left. We need a weapon or fifty.’
‘From what you told me about all the creatures here, yeah could be a good idea. Do guns kill them?’
‘Oh yeah, if there is one thing Guardians can't have enough of it's guns.’
‘OK, let's find some firepower.’ Kass said. They stepped inside, leaving the sunlight behind. That would be one of the worst mistakes Kass and Cilla made on that first day.
To be continued....

2024.05.14 18:29 arooni Simple streaming music setup requested for small bedroom and occasional TV use

Use case is being controlled by an iPhone 12 for playing music and occasionally audio books in a small bedroom. Spotify and sirius xm via an app. Iphone 12 is mounted on a tablet stand by the bed and is always on so I can see what's playing. Thank you metro by tmobile for my $140 iphone.
Would also be nice to be able to control playback via my s24 ultra phone that is my main day to day phone.
Also have a 55 inch TCL 5 series tv (earc is supported) that mostly runs aerial views Screensaver or 4k youtube drone nature videos on mute while I play audio from iPhone 12 via my echo dot connected to some crappyish pc speakers. Would like the ability to play TV audio easily too when i watch movies etc.
I prefer music to watching TV / movies.
Preferred genre is everything but I listen most to house / edm / electronic music.
I also have a $100 gift card on ebay I'm trying to get rid of.
Finally I have a pair of wking d10 bluetooth speakers i use one in my office and one as the downstairs speaker so I don't really need a mobile Bluetooth speakewaterproof speaker etc. What i seek here can be left plugged in all the time.
Should I be looking at a sonos move 1 or 2 ? Onyx studio 7 or 8? Sonos beam or arc ? Something else ?
Budget would be $500 or less. Ideally $300ish
Many thanks !!

2024.05.14 18:28 Disastrous-Fox-2398 Looking for advice on how to get a job

Hi! First of all, sorry for my awkward English - not a native speaker. Also I tried to make it short, but maybe warning for a (slight) wall of text?
I’m taking a gap year from university to find a job due to family’s financial issues. Long story short, my parents made some bad business decisions and got scammed, which left us with an enormous amount of debt. I don't blame them one bit - we weren't exactly doing well before either, and I guess the insecurity sort of pushed them into taking unnecessary risks so that they could provide for us. Plus, I'm an adult now, and it should've been me taking care of them instead of the opposite.
The issue here is that, well, I’m sort of a loser. I’ve been searching and applying for jobs almost every day by now, but with little to no success. I could think of a few reasons why:
  1. I’ve never worked a day in my life. It’s normal for where we live, but I understand it’s no excuse in this day and age. Now my CV is completely blank save for a few odd jobs I did here and there, and they don’t look very impressive on paper.
  2. With the rise of AI and overall increase in literacy rate, my major (English) is oversaturated in the job market where I live. It didn’t help that I specialized in something rather useless unless you intend to go into academia (which was my intention before all this).
  3. My biggest weakness so far: I have abysmal communication skills. I’ve been aware of this since I was 5, and been trying to improve ever since; but there's just always something others get that I don't, be it social cues or how to get my thoughts across clearly. It's part of the reason my parents never made me work - they just assumed, between this and my gift for studying, that the only viable pathway for me was to get as high a degree as possible and become a scholaresearcher etc. (old people's logic, but I'm ashamed to say I did believe in it, too). I did manage to score some interviews before, for jobs and scholarships, but I always failed at the talking part. I’ve taken to applying primarily to online jobs, but they get claimed fast, and hard to make good money if you aren't a highly desired professional.
  4. Yes, I've tried construction/manual labor work. If the above description didn't make me look enough like a nerd before, I also have hereditary heart problems and seasonal allergy that was made worse by COVID-19. Plus, they don’t normally hire women where I live.
I'm just at a loss of what to do. I will continue to apply for jobs, of course, but the payments and bills and rent are eating up what little savings we have left - if I couldn't find a job by the end of this month, we might be homeless. I just feel so guilty because my parents put a lot of trust in me - I have always been their pride and joy, and now I can't even provide for them. My little brother is starting college this year, too. I don’t have enough time to learn a new employable skill (though I’ve been doing some free web design courses - they’re actually the most fun I’ve had these days), I don’t have money to start a business, and the banks won’t let us take out loans anymore - not even under my clean name, they screen backgrounds a lot more carefully since our economy’s in shambles and everyone's in need of help.
In short, I’m looking for advice on how to improve my employability, or some other ways to secure enough money, at least ~$400/month (converted rate) just to stay on top of our payments. Thanks for reading all this, I hope you have a great day.

Help identifying? Colorado Foothills Hike Flower
Still looking for some help and was recommended to post here!
This is a flower my girlfriend and I saw on a hike at Apex Park just outside of Denver. This was a one off flower we didn't see any more of at any point on the hike, and have not seen on other hikes in the area. Asking for any info on it here just as we tried checking our wildflower book, obviously google, and the iPhone "search by photo" feature all to no avail, or if we did unknowingly find it the flowers didn't appear how we saw them so just looking for a final answer! She posted it on a few different random places and we hadn't gotten a definitive answer there either so last shot seeing if someone here knows! Thanks!!
Some added info, as noted in original post- while not the best photo to show it, the green leaves appears unrelated (Myrtle spurge we learned) and with a zoom in you can see the pink flower has a pink stem that goes all the way to the soil without any green leaves of its own, in case that note helps! Thanks!!

2024.05.14 18:22 Skuncek Can Marp in VS code use my latex preamble ?

Greetings,
I am using VS code and Latex Workshop for maths notes, and made my own preamble tex file with new commands.
I am trying to use Marp for VS Code to make a maths presentation, is there a way for Marp to refer to my Latex preamble when building ?
Rewriting my latex code in Marp will be way too tedious.
Thank you very much:)

2024.05.14 18:21 Txtspeak Help translating Ukrainian music?

Hey all, I've been listening to Ukrainian music for a while and I would like to make some lyric videos of one of my favourite Ukrainian bands.
The main band I'm looking to translate is Широкий Лан (Shyrokyi Lan,) most well known for their renditions of the testament of Taras Shevchenko and the Lithuanian war song Oi Šermukšnio, however most of the rest of their music remains untranslated. I'd love to have a hand from a native speaker who can help spread the word.
I've had people posting places that supposedly have the lyrics, but they've been inconsistent and confusing. I want to go through both of their albums and translate each and every song in them.
Also, regarding the lyric videos, what do you all think is the most important parts of them? Ideally I would include English lyrics, the original Ukrainian lyrics and Latinised lyrics too so non-speakers can sing along, but I only have limited space. Would you prefer I try to cram all 3 in or should I drop one?
Thank you so much!

2024.05.14 18:20 BryceOConnor STORMWEAVER III - CHAPTER 4 (kinda) [ROUGH] - Public Release

Hey yall! This is a weird one because after Chapter 3 dropped on Patreon I actually went back and dropped a new Chapter 1. So this "Chapter 4" is actually a new Chapter 1 (moving Chapters 1, 2, and 3 to the 2, 3, and 4 slots respectively) and later this week I'll release the true Chapter 5 to get us back on track!
Sorry for the confusion! Releasing novel chapters on Patreon is always wacky compared to a true serial haha.

MAJOR EDIT:

TURNS OUT WHEN I RELEASED 'CHAPTER 1' A COUPLE WEEKS AGO, THIS "NEW" CHAPTER 1 WAS WHAT I RELEASED. SO INSTEAD I'M GOING TO ALSO LINK YOU TO THE OLD CHAPTER 1, WHICH YOU GUYS NEVER SAW, I'M SORRY.
THIS OLD CHAPTER 1 IS THE TRUE CHAPTER 2. SO SORRY TO THE PUBLIC RELEASE READERS WHO READ CHAPTER 3 BEFORE CHAPTER 2 XD
*********
Hi all! A few rules & reminders:
  1. To read the chapter, download the free PDF from the Wraithmarked Patreon post(s) here:
    1. NEW CHAPTER 1 (PREVIOUSLY RELEASED): https://www.patreon.com/posts/early-access-3-1-95111466
    2. OLD CHAPTER 1 (NOW CHAPTER 2. UNRELEASED): https://www.patreon.com/posts/92301055
  2. ABSOLUTELY NO STORMWEAVER III SPOILERS OUTSIDE THESE POSTS ★ (unless someone specifically requests them, in which case you can message them directly). Please respect the rights of those readers who do not want to read the book chapter by chapter! Any flaunting of this rule will be handled with prejudice. The quality of this community as a whole is much more important to me than your personal desire to show off that you know something other people don't. This includes comments like "No spoilers, but this is addressed in book III" and the like. Yes, that IS a spoiler in its own right.
  3. Public Release chapters will release 10 chapters behind the Patreon release of Early Access chapters. Public Release chapters will likely release 24 to 72hrs after the Early Access chapters (that will most often be the Monday morning after the Friday Early Access drop), so the sub announcement posts for each have a chance to gain traction.
  4. Recall that these are rough chapters, with no editing other than a single pass-through as I write.
  5. On a similar note, I am not asking for advice or corrections at this time. Feel free to chat/criticize/disparage, but please DO NOT tag me. If I want feedback, I/Wraithmarked will certainly reach out, thank you!

2024.05.14 18:18 LegLuke Trying to display 4 variables on a single combined graph where one variable is years

Trying to display following variables on a single combined graph (or two if one is impossible), using Excel for Microsoft 365
\Example of what I am trying to create is below**
Can see the data broken up below (note some teams have zero finals wins, hence I can't just use only column C )
I am struggling to represent 4 variables all in 1 combined graph.
https://preview.redd.it/vl8nxisl2f0d1.png?width=547&format=png&auto=webp&s=07cb35e12f1dfeed84ec57c48ec4ecf94151919a
Much appreciated if someone could explain how to create a graph- which displays all 4 variables if possible, or 2 separate graphs if only way.
(Bonus if someone can explain why I can't just plot against years like I would any other graph as this is where the issue seems to be)
Thank you if you can assist! Apologies if a bit of a ramble.

2024.05.14 18:16 malachilenomade Building new tech (please ELI5)

I've been going over some videos about building new tech but I guess I'm just not getting it. Everyone is showing their advanced designs and such and all I want is to be able to build a tech that can handle some more storage and not have an issue going up hills. How do you build new tech properly? I've dipped my toes a LITTLE into messing around with something at the hub but the parts descriptions aren't that great so I'm just not understanding what I need to do.
I should note that I haven't played Terratech (didn't know it existed until today) so maybe I should start with that? IDK....
Thanks!

2024.05.14 18:15 barzaan001 Need help connecting iPad Air 4 to Adam Audio T5Vs

Hello there, I’ve been producing on my iPad for the past couple of years using only my headphones (ATH-M50Xs) but the time has now come where I feel like my production ability is good enough to start releasing my tracks. Although mixing and mastering is a skill I am still yet to learn.
Anyway, I am looking to purchase 2 Adam Audio T5V monitors and I’m looking for help and advice on how to connect them to my iPad so that I can get the best possible sound quality out of them. I do not have an audio interface but I do have a USB-C hub with a headphone jack and a USB-C to 3.5 mm adapter.
Please tell me the best way to connect the monitors to my iPad. If I have to buy an audio interface, I can do that too. Thank you for taking the time to read this and replying :)
Edit: I would also like to add that I would prefer 0 latency & no hiss/electronic interference sounds, and I’m willing to shell out for an audio interface for that. When I connect my Launchpad X or Launchkey mini to my iPad using my usb c hub it always emits a slight hum/hiss which I absolutely hate and it makes me not want to use the midi controllers as much. (The hiss sound comes from my headphones and iPad speakers both)
Edit 2: Can I just use an aux splitter via the usb c to 3.5mm adapter I have to connect to the unbalanced inputs on both of the speakers?

No notes, etc you all know the drill. I will not respond to chats unless you comment below, PM is preferred you can use this link to send me a direct message

1 - Like new Criterion 13.9 barrel, 0.625 gas port, 1/8 twist. Essentially new, was going to build a dedicated suppressor platform but I am too deep into another project. I did test mount this into the upper for sale on this post. Passing on the savings I got, $220

  1. Unknown salty M4 upper. I only know it's an M4 upper based on what the previous seller told me. Anchor Harvey stamp on it, has salt and what looks like some paint. Comes with a FA, but no dust cover. Threads are in good shape. This will not need a thermal fit (I have a bcm upper for comparison) I tested it with the criterion barrel above. Slides right in, just like your favorite pocket pal ~_^ .$40.

Take both for $245

Thanks and have a good one y'all.
