2024.05.14 14:23 ProfessorOakWithO How to avoid page flickering with sveltekit and firebase client sdk
Hi,
I've built a web app with sveltekit and use firebase auth for authentication/authorization. In my +layout.svelte file I "use" the onMount function so setup my code like this:
onMount(function () { const iief = async () => { const { userStore, firebaseSignOut } = await lazyInitFirebase(); _auth = userStore; _signOut = firebaseSignOut; _authUnsubscribe = _auth.subscribe(async (auth) => { const pathname = window.location.pathname; if (browser && !auth.user && pathname !== '/') { await goto('/'); } else if (browser && auth.user && !auth.isAuthorized) { showToast('error', ERROR_PERMISSION_DENIED); await _signOut(); await goto('/'); } else if (browser && auth.user && pathname === '/') { goto('/protected') } }); }; iief(); });
userStore setup
const userStore = readable({user: null, isAuthorized: false}, (set) => { return onAuthStateChanged(firebaseAuth, async (user) => { if(!user) { set({user: user, isAuthorized: false}) } else { const idToken = await user.getIdTokenResult(); const isAuthorized = (SERVICE_ACCOUNT_CLAIM in idToken.claims) && idToken.claims[SERVICE_ACCOUNT_CLAIM] === true; set({user: user, isAuthorized: isAuthorized}) } }); })
Basically I want to achieve three things:
- Redirect the user to / if he's not authenticated and not already on /
- Redirect the user to / and sign him out, if he's not authorized
- Redirect the user always to /protected if he`s authenticated (and authorized). I don't want to show the login page if he`s already authenticated.
In my login +page.svelte file I use the following code to render the html:
[...] {#if $_auth && $_auth.user === null } // login stuff {:else} // loading stuff {/if}
While this code works it has one big drawback: When I'm authenticated and authorized and change the url from https://..../protected to https://..../ I first see the the loading text, then the login screen and then finally the /protected page. I guess it has something to with the way the onAuthStateChanged function from the firebase/auth module works because it always fires one or two times with user == null before it recognizes that I'm logged in. Can you give me some tips how I can get the desired behavior e.g

2024.05.14 13:46 maskuraid Does Umbris, Fear Manifest trigger exponentially when Copied
Forgive me if this is a silly question I'm new to the game and still learning, but I'm wondering if I have this ruling understood.
If I have
[Umbris, Fear Manifest] on board and I cast
[Rite of Replication] with its 5-cost Kicker, this creates 5 token copies of Umbris.
Each token is a Nightmare Horror that enters the battle field. Does the effect trigger on cast, and then trigger each copy, in addition to triggering the original umbris, and does the legend rule apply before or after this interaction.
As far as I understand, the options are as follows:
- Umbris triggers when cast, then the 5 Copies will activate when they hit the field, which will trigger umbris for a total of 7 triggers
- The effect will trigger exponentially as each copy hits the field, Copy 1 triggers, then the original, then copy 2 triggers, triggering copy 1 and the original, and so on, for a total of 21 triggers
- All copies hit the field at once, triggering eachother on each cast. Copy 1 triggers, which triggers the original and Copies 2, 3 , and 4, then copy 2 triggers, triggering copies 1, 3, and 4 and so on, for a total of 31 triggers.
- Legend Rule kicks in and says N O (someone should)
That or some unexpected result hits, if so let me know!
I'm eager to learn more about the game and having fun working with this commander so a small deranged part of me hopes that it triggers 31 times (unless my math is awful and its more!).

2024.05.14 13:13 AdMassive2734 In this B since Day 1 // my Hypothesis
From my Pov, i think, the Clue of the whole Token-Burn is to push this token beyond the Limits of everything we know so far.
For Example, last Token Burn was at 0.05 and it paid in FULL.
So my Thought was, what would happen when their is a Burn Target at 1 Dollar, and also 1.50 then 2 and so on and on, of course with High Burning Amounts.
I think this Coins purpose is to show the Crypto World, how a Good Community Project, with a heavy Burning Demand can jump up to (in terms of Prices), also with a type of selective Amount of Tokens (Not everyone can be a Sloth)

2024.05.14 12:51 MOMSHIEANN Big Excitement, Bigger Wins! Chase the Mega Jackpot at Hugewin's Casino Games
Hey fellow Redditors,
I wanted to share my experience with an online casino that's been gaining traction lately—Hugewin. If you're into online betting and gaming, especially with a penchant for crypto, this might pique your interest. I’ve spent some time exploring what they offer and thought I'd provide a rundown for anyone curious.
A Fair Game for All One of the standout features of Hugewin is its commitment to fairness. The casino leverages blockchain technology to ensure all games are provably fair. This means each game's outcome is determined by an algorithm that anyone can verify. It's refreshing to know the odds aren’t skewed and every player has a genuine shot at winning.
Security First Security is another aspect where Hugewin excels. The platform uses advanced encryption to protect personal and financial information. Transactions are verified through smart contracts, adding an extra layer of security and transparency. For those wary of online scams, this is a big plus.
Rewarding Loyalty Hugewin has a pretty generous reward system. Players earn points and rewards for their activity, which can be redeemed for cash or other perks. There’s also a referral system that lets you earn more by bringing in friends. It's a nice incentive to keep playing and to get your social circle involved.
Game Variety When it comes to game selection, Hugewin doesn't disappoint. They offer a wide range of options, from slots and table games to live dealer games. The variety in themes and styles means there's something for everyone, whether you’re a casual player or a seasoned pro.
Customer Support Another thing I appreciate is their customer support. Available 24/7, the support team is responsive and helpful. Whether you reach out via live chat, email, or phone, they’re there to assist with any issues or questions. It’s reassuring to know help is just a message away.
Quick Withdrawals Withdrawals at Hugewin are processed quickly, usually within 24 hours. This is a big deal if you're eager to get your winnings without delay. The fast turnaround adds to the overall positive experience, making the gaming process smooth and hassle-free.
Mobile Friendly For those who like to play on the go, Hugewin’s platform is fully mobile compatible. The site is optimized for smartphones and tablets, so you can enjoy your favorite games seamlessly wherever you are. It's a great feature for anyone with a busy lifestyle.
Community Vibes Hugewin has a solid community of players. There’s a forum where users share tips, strategies, and experiences. It's a great place to connect with fellow gamers, participate in tournaments, and be part of the casino’s social fabric.
Token-Based Economy The platform uses a token-based economy, with $HUGE tokens as the native currency. You can use these tokens to play games, participate in governance, and receive rewards. This adds an interesting dimension to the gaming experience, blending traditional casino elements with the world of cryptocurrency.
Promotions and Tournaments Hugewin also runs regular promotions. There’s a Super Wednesday with a 25% slot bonus and a 15% casino discount, plus a 100% welcome bonus up to $1,000. Monthly slot tournaments with a $100,000 prize pool add an extra layer of excitement. These promotions keep things fresh and provide additional opportunities to win big.
User-Friendly Interface The site itself is user-friendly, with a simple membership form and a clean interface. Deposits and withdrawals are straightforward, with a minimum deposit amount of $1 and a maximum of $5,000,000 at once. Withdrawal limits are similarly flexible, ranging from $10 to $1,000,000.
Crypto Payments Payment methods include a variety of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Tether, Tron, Dogecoin, Binance Coin, Litecoin, and Ripple. This broad range of options makes transactions convenient and caters to a wide audience of crypto enthusiasts.
Overall, Hugewin is shaping up to be a compelling choice for anyone interested in online crypto betting. With its fair games, secure platform, and rewarding system, it offers a balanced mix of excitement and reliability. If you’re looking to try your luck and perhaps chase a mega jackpot, Hugewin might just be worth checking out.

It's armed with missiles that can be used to bombard designated areas. Missiles can be replenished at the Repair Station in the Assembly Base.
- Levitron: A special vechile that can switch between a speed form and a magnetic form. Serves as the upper-body component that combines with a Strider to form the Armamech.
- In speed form, the maximum speed and hover height will be increased, and the vehicle gains a "collision acceleration" ability: it will not slow down when it hits an obstacle. Instead, it will accelerate using the stored magnetic energy.
- In magnetic form, the maximum speed and hover height will be reduced, but it can activate a "Magnetize" ability to grab and toss characters, vehicles, and specific objects.
- Armamech: A four-seater vehicle combined from a Levitron and a Strider. It can also be directly summoned from the Steel Ark.
- It possesses 2 weapons that it can freely switch between: the Strider's missiles, and the Levitron's "Magnetize" ability.

- Bring a Levitron and a Strider close together to combine them. After combining, the pilot of the Levitron becomes the pilot of the Armamech. It can also be separated at any time.
Brand New Environments - Steel Ark:

- The ark consists of many areas. You can find all kinds of supplies and Supply Crates at the Command Post, Dormitory, Warehouse, and more.
- From the landing pad, you can board an evacuation Wingman, which will take you straight to the Playzone!
- You can use elevators and ziplines in the ark to get around.
- Steel Ark Air Drop: A Steel Ark loaded with supplies will fly around during the match and drop supplies consisting of an Air Drop Crate and several Supply Crates at specific drop points.
- Assembly Base:
- The Assembly Base contains a Mecha Repair Station. Approach it in a mecha to replenish the mecha's health, fuel, and missiles.
- On the top floor of the Assembly Base, there is a detector that can determine the location of crates within the Assembly Base. An Access Card can be found in one of the crates, which can be used to open the door to the Secret Room and get loads of supplies.
New Items - Jetpack: Pick it up and equip it to increase movement speed. It possesses the ability to hover in the air for a short duration. It consumes Energy rapidly when lifting off. Energy will only be replenished when you reach the ground. The Jetpack has a Health bar that protects you from damage to your back and arms. It will be destroyed after taking a certain amount of damage. When reaching a certain speed while moving forward, it can switch to a speed form. You will perform a special action when you tap "Lift Off" as it switches to the speed form. The Jetpack comes with the "Magnetize" ability, but you will not be able to fly fast when using it.
- Personal AED: If you have this item, you can tap self-rescue after being knocked down. Once successful, you will recover from the knocked down state. Each player can only carry one of these items. Self-rescuing will be interrupted if you move while using this item.
- Magnet Gun: This is a downgraded version of the Levitron's "Magnetize" ability in gun form. Switch to it by tapping on the firearm bar. It works the same as the Levitron's "Magnetize", but with reduced values.
- Respawn Beacon: Throw the beacon on the ground to mark a location that the plane will pass over. Recalled teammates can parachute into the match again at the cost of a respawn chance. Teammates who have used up all their respawn chances cannot respawn.
- Quick Parachute: When parachuting, a quick parachute button will appear at a certain height in the air. Tap it to immediately deploy the parachute which can also be freely put away.
- Repair Station: Approach the Repair Station in a mecha to replenish its health, fuel, and missiles.

- create a new user pool user after signing into google/apple and receiving the id/access token.
- sign in the user with google's/apple's id/access token
thanks for the help!!

2024.05.14 09:36 Khorde__the__Husk BattlePostings Game Rules
i like Warhammer 40k, but 40k doesnt afford you the abilty to let you play your own custom character or faction if it isnt up to certain specs in tournaments(lore strict rules). and running an army battle in dungeons and dragons is overly complicated unless you ignore a bunch of rolls and rules.
i propose a blend of both. who's cannon takes place in the cosmos of perspective.
(you make your own faction cannon. )
each unit type has user generated has one data sheet, each named character you have would have their own data sheet.
the models can be 3-D printed or kitbashed, but they must be at 1/36 scale. essentially one infantry= one of those cheap plastic army men standing at 5 cm tall.
from here, this was typed up before today, by a few months. there is no campaign.
but i would imagine a new fandom in table top roleplay would be born regardless
___________________________________________________________________________________________
WELCOME TO BATTLEPOSTINGS T.T.R.P.G.
A tabletop rpg for diy, model painting, kit bashing, 3-DPrinting, and plastic army battling enthusiasts.
all parts of this game are user generated, with the exception of the rules. Though
u/Khorde__the__Husk sent this to a bunch of redditors for help in balancing the game and setting up basic play structure.
Things to note:
· You must have one “advisor” per two warlords in the session. Advisors, act as the game master to make sure no one is cheating. If there is confusion on what kind of weapon a unit has in their hands or equipped to their armor, the Advisor has final say. The advisor is supposed to keep the game fair.
· In theory you could have as many players as you want, but no more than four is recommended because turns consist of multiple phases that are meant to organize the battle strategy for each player.
· Players are encouraged to kit bash, 3-D print, or purchase traditional plastic army men. For the sake of scaling, follow the scaling of the image below. But you must have your own general. It is recommended that your general be unique, make it yours. Have fun.
· Players can make their own campaigns and lore. Such attempts are encouraged. For the purposes of release, you can follow the campaign I have written.
· For any session, you will need a handwritten or typed general’s reference stats Dossier, 1D20, tape measure, and an army of which you will fight with. (painted)
· When rolling on a check, higher is always better. 20 is always a success
· Your armies stats are fixed and defined in this document. Your general’s stats are dictated by the roll of a 1d20. These stats are:
o morale
o Movement speed
o Accuracy
o Health points
o Punch
· Turns are split into phases.
o bombardment
o Movement
o Attack/counter attack
· The different types of units are:
o Infantry
o Armor
o Airborne
o B.A.M.(BIG ASS MACHINES)
· We play at a 1/36 scale. All models are at that scale.
make your own terrain and cover. kitbashing, 3-D printing encouraged. terrain is the battleground, the floor the pieces and obstacles stand on. obsticles can be anything. debris, nature, etc. obstacles are cover. if an attacking piece can see the defending piece in its entirety, the defending piece is in the open. if the defending piece is partially seen by the attacking
· Ability checks logic below:
20=crit hit/sucsess
1=jam(gun)/woopsie(melee)/crit fail
To succeed , a unit must roll their combined ability score. This is their base ability +general ability. Debuffs such as kickback only are applied to whatever you rolled when you roll for an ability check.
Regardless, the fundamental rules of this game will apply to your creations. these are an assortment of rules designed to keep the game fair and guard against unfair players(referred to as God-Emperors or God-empresses) and hopefully combat power creep.
Now lets expand upon these ideas so you can have fun kit-bashing and army smashing quicker.
GENERAL’S (named character) STAT DOSSIER
Your army’s stats are based on your general’s stat Dossier. The leader of a nation is oft a good indication of how high of a quality their army’s going to be.
The first thing you should write is your general’s name, then write their bio. Their bio includes their background, their homeland, what politics are involved (if any). It is not recommended that you write a novel, you have a game to play. What are the weapons that your general will have on their person? What are their character traits? How will those traits affect how the game is played?
The next thing to do is to make a picture of your General that resembles the piece you kit-bashed for your general to be. It can be menacing, wholesome, serious or whacky. As long as the design choices resemble what your army has for their design and your general’s character traits. It doesn’t have to be hand drawn. A photo of your piece will suffice. no general may have a skill number higher than 16.
ARMY STAT DOSSIER:
what good is a king without a kingdom?
terrible.
each type of unit gets one ARMY STAT DOSSIER. you can have as many scout infantry you want, but you need a dossier on how they are deployed, what weapons they use, and most importantly, THEIR STATS. make sure your unit type description is comprehensive including what styles of combat they are trained for. this could influence your decisions on how you play. give them lore for shits and giggles. no unit may have a skill number higher than 15.
WEAPON STAT DOSSIER
this is the list of weapon types and their ability modifiers.
when attacking bare handed, you go by your unmodified stats.
STATS EXPLAINED AND BORING SHIT
Now comes the part with the dice. You only need 1d20. This is to reduce the confusion.
· Morale
Rolled by 1d20, checked by 1d20 per unit.
Morale is basically moral law. How far will your troops go to follow your orders? If your morale over a given unit is 1, the unit in question is shell shocked for one whole turn, to be marked with a yellow slip. If your unit is shell shocked, it is traumatized to where it cant follow any orders on the next turn. If for some reason the morale hits 0, that unit defects and must be marked with a red token. Units that defect are now under control of your enemy. If defected units hit 0 authority again, it simply dies. Suicide. Cowards way out.
The Morale that your general has over friendly units is base unit morale +the general’s modifier. Your general’s base Morale is the number you rolled the 1d20 for. If for any reason your general’s morale score goes below 0, the general must rally all nearby troops (within 30cm) to protect the general for one turn on the next turn. If your general’s morale hits zero, you get shell shocked, and your general cannot take action for one turn and if your general was within line of sight of any other allied unit, the observing unit cannot take action either.
· Movement Speed
Rolled by 1d20, measured by cm on a measuring tape or meter stick because inches suck.
Movement speed is how much ground a given unit can cover. Unless your object has a punch score higher than the hp of an obstacle, or can fly, you will have to go around the obstacle. There are exceptions. If the obstacle is below the knee of an infantry unit, the infantry or whatever can climb over at the cost of the individual unit climbing modifier.
The base movement speed of your general influences the movement speed of your troops. To find a troops total movement speed:
Your unit’s base movement speed + your general’s base movement speed = total troop movement speed. See army stat dossier or named character stat dossier.
· Accuracy
Rolled by a 1d20, checked by 1d20 per unit
Accuracy must be rolled every time a unit attacks an enemy unit.
Accuracy is basically the chance of your selected troop hitting their targets. Different weapons and vehicles have different accuracy modifiers(aka kickback or x-range), and different types of troops have different base accuracies. Accuracy can affect enemy/friendly Health points or morale. If a shot hits near enough to a troop, or makes a kill close enough to another troop, the troops affected must undergo a morale check with the exception to nearby friendlies of any troop who gets an enemy kill.
Explosives and artillery have an area of effect. any troop within the inner blast radius (with the exception of troops behind sufficient cover) is dead. Any in sufficient cover, or within the outer blast radius must make a morale check. Sufficient cover is a piece of the environment which has an assigned hp that is higher than the punch of an explosion.
Small arms fire requires line of sight for targeting. The path of bullets is a straight line, keep this in mind when deciding collateral damage. Friendly fire is a thing and it is a war-crime. If you want to play nightmare mode, your general gets summoned to a military court tribunal and executed if three friendly troops or more die as a result of friendly fire that occurred by your command.
Melee combat can only be conducted during movement phases. If its melee vs gun there is the variable of line of sight. If the melee unit is within line of sight, the gun unit has advantage. If the melee unit is outside of line of sight of the gun unit, the melee unit has advantage.
To find your troop’s accuracy:
general’s base accuracy+ troop base accuracy- kickback. The higher the accuracy the better.
· Punch
Punch is how much damage a unit causes to another unit or object should they pass their accuracy check. Different weapons pack a different punch. Remember to add their bonus to the punch check roll.
When attacking an obstacle or object, units must roll against the hp of the object. If the roll lands on a number that meets or beats the hp, the object or obstacle is destroyed.(marked with red sticky note and can be traversed as if the object was destroyed. Bullets pass thru within reasonable trajectories, no ricochet)
When attacking units, whatever is rolled is subtracted from the victim’s hp. The victim can only move at half of their normal movement speed afterward.(treaded, wheeled, and airborne vehicles excluded from the debuff even if they are hit. They are treated as obstacles with the addition of the passed accuracy check requirement.)
· Health points(hp)
Health points are what determines how close your units or general is to kicking the bucket. In any game mode, If your general kicks the bucket, you lose. If you have no units other than your general, you lose and your general must go into hiding. each unit and general may have no more than 10hp. powercreep is bad
UNIT CLASSES
Unit Classes are determined by how big the individual unit is, and how it traverses the battlefield. The smallest and most common all the way to the biggest and most intimidating of units are all fit into several categories by what they look like. To solve disagreements on what class your unit is, the advisor has final say. Disagreements should be easy to avoid if you design your units properly. It would be useful to stick to a theme. Candy punk, steampunk, horror, medieval, sci-fi, and historical designs are all fine, you could even come up with your own. A theme will be better for discerning friendlies from you enemies. At the same time, make your units discernable enough that players and especially advisors can easily determine what classes your units are.
· Your general/warlord, whatchacallit
Your general is the most valuable unit because it is what you have to control your forces. Without a wise and strategic leader, your forces will fall into disarray and you will lose the war. You can only have one general, and you made it yours. Kitbashing and 3D printing would likely be your most common means of gaining a general. They must take resemblance of the general on your general stat dossier they can swim in water terrain for two turns before they drown.
· Infantry
The easiest to acquire and kit bash. This allows for vast hordes of infantry, or small fireteams, or something in between. Find your play style. Your infantry should be as tall as the plastic green army men in the image below. These men and women are the bravest of them all.
they can swim in water terrain for two turns before they drown.
· Armor
Mainly made up of vehicles and smaller mechanical suits, must be land based. Expect tanks, jeeps ,Humvees, calvary mounted animals etc. here is an image I ripped for scale as to the largest example of armor you can have. Not my drawing. Its basically the largest tank ever built replace the man in the image with one infantry and you have your scale. Or 0.283333333 m* 0.283333333 m *0.5m
these machines will break down in water terrain.
· Airborne
Airborne units can only fly. They can drop bombs, airdrop armotroops, and attack up to one target per gun that the aircraft is equipped with(within range) as they move. Their biggest weakness is anti-aircraft weaponry and enemy aircraft weapons. How big can an aircraft be?
2.44 meters. X 2.44 meters by 0.60 meters is your maximum for all airborne units.
any airborne that fly like a plane have a +4 to their movement stat but can only bomb ground units 15 cm in front and attack any unit that is in front of it
anything that flies like a helicopter does not have this buff or debuff, they can shoot at any target, but can only use missiles for up to 15 cm on ground units.
NAVAL VEHICLES Naval vehicles can be big or small, but they can only operate in the designated water terrain area. they can carry troops, they can fire artillery, depth charges, missiles, torpedoes, and submarines can hide below water for three turns before air runs out. but they can be spotted by sonar. if a submerged vessel is within 10 cm of an enemy surface or submarine vessel, the enemy vessel can act as if they know where the submerged vessel is even if the submerged vessel is still submerged.
· B.A.M. ‘s
Big Ass Machines are basically giant robots and massive land ships. These can be Game breaking depending on how you build them and how big you build them. They can fire upon one target per weapon. how big Can these be? They cannot be more than 1.5 meters tall or take up a ground area larger than 4 meters. Players are not allowed to use functioning motor vehicles including, but not limited to cars, trucks, busses, etc. rule of thumb, if you can ride it, you can’t play it. It might as well be just fan art. The maximum distance these can move at any time is 2000cm. to move these, they must make a special movement check. War machines of that size can get stuck easily, so subtract your general’s movement speed from your final roll on each check. If they are larger than the specified limits, you’ve built a giant immobilized obstacle for one turn.
Mobile terrain essentially is a whole battlefield or obstacle of its own. The biggest difference is that anything other than B.A.M. compatible units that are attached to the B.A.M'S can’t be removed from the B.A.M.'S. Artillery such as main guns can’t move, only rotate. same with S.A.M.S. , C.R.A.M.S., and anti aircraft weaponry.
EQUIPMENT AND ARMAMENT
Guns and RE’S(ranged explosives)Require a reload period(one full turn) every so often. Dual wield is an ability that is only applicable to infantry equipment . dual wield only applies when two identical weapons are in both hands of a single unit. Range is how far a weapon can fire before a debuff is added to your accuracy roll. For every 10 cm beyond the stated range, an x-range debuff of -1 is added.
Overheat can only occur on weapons that are labeled with overheat. Every time a gun with overheat is about to fire , a coin must be tossed. If the coin lands on heads, the gun overheats. Overheating will cause the unit to explode. The explosion will deal 1d20 damage to anyone/anything within a 6 cm radius. You only need to roll once.
Cone is a special debuff. Weapons with cone Can only fire at sequential targets within 25 degrees of original target.
im having trouble with deciding the individual weapon stats. so ive decided that i am going to leave those up to you. (the moment i hear people are getting into fights IRL, i will be putting in an elaboration which will settle all disputes regarding equipment and artillery... and i wont be happy about it.)
players are encouraged to record their battles in battle reports and post it online in their relevant subreddits. if they win/lose, then the player is encouraged to come up with a lore reason for any change in tactics, named characters(generals), or stats.
an army is considered overpowered if they can take out all opponents in as little as 10 turns. they must be nerfed if this happens. dont forget to add a lore reason for this occurrence in the battle report.
unlike overpowered, underpowered armies can be taken out in 10 turns. they must be buffed if this happens. dont forget to add a lore reason for this occurrence in the battle report.
this is sci-fantasy/high fantasy, battles are supposed to be epic and economically exaggerated.
write the name of the weapon, the type of weapon.(melee or gun) and its accuracy and punch modifiers.(bare hands is melee and equal to. magic is gun)
spells must be vetted in good faith by advisors prior to the game to prevent game breakage. spells may not kill units or generals in one blow. spells effects can only last one turn unless its a healing spell. healing spells cannot heal more than 5 health points at a time per unit. write out the spells you have for your units and have them vetted by an advisor, advisor will determine gamebreakability of the spell. if spell is determined to be game breaking, mid game, the advisor will have the offending spell removed and the turn undone. at wich point the offending player effectively must alter their strategy in the spirit of good sportsmanship.) There are three approved arcane focuses, wands, staves, and hand casting, (one must not make them look like the caster is going to punch something, have them hold an orb or something.)
(the moment i hear that people get into IRL fights over spells, i will make a list of approved spells and a LONG LIST of forbidden spells. and no one will be happy. )
THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE
Dont be a dick, be a good sport, and have fun.breaking thegame intentionally is a dick move. advisors are encouraged to post their reports of game breaking spells so it may help me in the event Khorde__the__Husk has to revise the rules.

2024.05.14 08:52 AncientPC Thoughts and tips after climbing to 10k in 2 weeks.
Yes, I had a lot of time. I originally played this game when it launched during the pandemic and stopped at 1k trophies, and picked it up again ~3 years later. I want to share my thoughts about the last ~15 days while it's still fresh and answer any questions people might have.
I have a 43% win rate in 3600 BR games, and 300+ games with each of the following heroes: Angel, Bastion, Blizzard, Blot, Cyclops, Ghost, Levi, Lynx, Ramsay, Raven, Sparkle, Vi. I have the most fun with Angel, Raven, Ramsay, and Lynx.
I've unlocked every hero except Alice, paid for Blizzard and Vi.
Trophy Tiers
Broadly speaking, the percentage of poor players decreases as you gain higher trophies. Being completely honest, I saw a bunch of mistakes made by enemies, teammates, and myself at 9k trophies. At 10k+ trophies, most of the mistakes I see are my own.
Low Tier: <3k
I have a second account on an old phone at this tier that I use to play under powered / rarely used heroes in casual games. It's mostly bots and occasional humans with rudimentary gameplay.
Mid Tier: 3-7k
People are still misplaying all the time, but in general are improving and trying to coordinate as a team. Pickup teams are pretty easy to create and people are generally friendly. Honestly, I probably had the most
fun at this tier since I enjoy playing the game casually with a variety of heroes and different team compositions (vs trying to win all the time).
There's still plenty of bots in offpeak hours.
High Tier: >7k
This is the first tier where it starts to get competitive. Relatedly, this is also the first tier I started seeing bad manners and griefing.
Early on when I was around 2k, I teamed up with some high trophy players and played in 10k games. That's when I learned first hand
how much faster and aggressive the game was. On certain maps (Bank, Village, Hotel), fights will often initiate after picking up ~2 items.
As for bad manners, I'm used to it from playing plenty of other online games but enjoyed the fact that Bullet Echo largely doesn't have it. However at 7k+, now you get a lot of people bm'ing when they kill you, if two people fight over an item, etc. It most commonly manifests as sprays/stickers, but also a lot of head shaking and the occasional teamkill grenade for taking "their" item.
Pickup teams are a lot more mercenary. People join up, and if the team loses most will leave; there's little to no chat banter anymore. If someone misplays a few times, they often get kicked from the team, the team is disbanded, and/or they get defriended. This, uhh, has totally
never happened to me.
10k
The "end game." Heroes' power typically ranges 1650 - 2200 (Ultimate level 70 to Immortal), with the occasional Divine player. There's relatively few bots during peak times.
The games are fast and brutal, and any small mistake is quickly exploited. My winrate has dropped significantly even when playing my better characters, but I'm learning. Pre-10k, I'd typically open 3x battle and skull chests under 30 minutes. Now, opening battle and skull chests has become significantly harder.
Bravery Road
I don't have any experience with this tier since I lack Divine heroes. Others have shared that it's mostly full of bots.
Heroes
Tier List
This is based on 9k+ trophy BR in the hands of a good player:
- S: Vi, Lynx, Mirage
- A: Blizzard, Ramsay, Raven, Dragoon, Angel, Freddie, Arnie
- B: Firefly, Shenji, Ghost, Alice, Leviathan, Hurricane, Satoshi, Sparkle, Tess, Levi
- C: Blot, Bertha, Doc, Cyclops, Slayer
- D: Bastion, Stalker, Smog
Bastion
Bastion is great for bot farming and low / mid tier gameplay, but is easily outplayed in 7k+ games. I had a bunch of mid tier Bastion friends that I invited to 7k+ games and they've always left after a few games due to being outplayed.
Outplaying Bastion is usually done through kiting or baiting and flanking with teammates since their range is too short and movement speed is too slow. Bastion (and Blot to an extent) is outclassed by more mobile shield heroes: Angel, Hurricane, Satoshi.
Leviathan gets a special call out since his turret is great for zoning and has extended spray that can be abused to hit behind walls.
Grenade Users (Firefly/Shenji/Sparkles/Freddie)
Pre-10k, most of these are terrible nade spammers hoping to get an easy kill. I've seen so many Firefly users use more nades than bullets in a round, adding little value chucking nades into thin air. Shenji users, please use your nades to zone the enemies and less about trying to kill them. Also stop burning the grass because you can, especially when you're up against snipers.
Vi
My win rate with Vi is significantly higher than the rest of the field, which shows how broken she is. I think she needs to be nerfed, and she's my most played and highest leveled character (Stellar).
I also have some bad experiences after teaming up with a bunch of Vi-only tryhards (about 6-8 different teammates for 5+ games each). They're generally incredibly aggressive and good at racking up a high kill count, but often lack map awareness or team dynamics besides spamming, "Let's go!".
Tips
League
Climb as fast as you can, as high as you can since you get more loot per chest depending on your league level, and streaking gets harder the higher you climb in trophies. Bot farming (read below) is the easiest way to streak games and hit the next league level.
I think there is an argument to be made about staying in purple 1. I found it significantly easier to win most of the contracts at purple 1, but I was grouped with all the other grinders once I hit purple 2. This may or may not be a red herring.
Spending Money
Contracts
- 7 day contract hacks (and assuming you have enough time to grind) is the most effective use of money.
- Consistently winning the 21 hr contract for 300 jokers is critical.
- 3 hr contract (particularly in off hours) can be pretty easy to win for 20 jokers.
- Read the contracts carefully. Often you can use a hero to progress against 2 or more contracts simultaneously.
- Bot farming and SvS is usually the easiest way to quickly get contract points.
- Ghost in koth is a great way to grind "The Collector" contract.
Star Pass
- I don't mind spending $15 to get the new hero via the base pass, but I don't think the premium pass is worth it.
- I didn't get tiers 2 and 3 for Vi but still got her to Stellar with a lot of grinding via contract hacks and jokers.
Technology
It's $10/mo. You get a random hero motivated and 8 drone plugins (2 of each color) per week, and 10 tech tokens/day. 70 tech tokens/week is enough to get drone blueprints, 2xpersonal gears boxes, some squad gear, 500 nuts, and 5 costume tokens. Also your name is highlighted in gold.
I think it's great for the first month or two for the personal gear and drone parts, but not sure if it's worth keeping afterwards.
Bots
Recognizing bots means you can adapt your strategy when playing with and against them.
Identification
Pre-game
- in the same bot syndicates: CCCP, Botsavethequeen, Botdamnit, 486DX, etc
- are listed after human players
- don't have drones
- never play as the newer characters: Blizzard, Vi, Shenji, Ramsay, Lynx, Tess
You start recognizing the bot names after a few hundred games.
In game
- immediately opens chests
- goes in a straight line while swinging their flashlight, humans tend to run with their flashlight facing forward except when checking corners
- doesn't use any abilities
Farming (BR, SvS, sabo, koth)
Bot farming is a great way to hit the streak for a league jump or grind for festival tokens.
I find sabo, SvS, and sometimes arcade in offpeak hours (or other region's servers) the easiest modes for bot farming.
Generally bots will collect a few items and start roaming looking for enemies. If a firefight ensues, the bots will start swarming towards noise like zombies.
The best characters to farm bots are those that can do a lot of damage without taking any themselves. Since bots will run in a straight line towards you, assault rifles and snipers excel at bot farming.
- Recommended heroes: Bastion, Satoshi, Blot, Hurricane, Levi, Firefly, Blizzard, Cyclops
- Not recommended: Ghost/Stalker (bots are not affected by cloak), Slayer (fire rate is too slow), SMG users (can't reload fast enough when swarmed)
As teammates
It sucks to get bots as teammates, but if you understand their behavior you can take advantage of it to try and win the round.
- don't get sucked into unnecessary fights, let them die and don't bother reviving
- use them as dumb scouts to flank the enemy
- treat the round as a training exercise on how to win one-vs-many fights. It'll happen more and more often as you climb trophies
Drones
- medpro is great for tanks, assault rifles, and attacking SMGs (Angel, Alice, Freddie, Ghost)
- zenith is great for snipers, Raven/Ghost, 10k+ games
- guard is useless except for the occasional ability to zone enemies
Zenith gets increasingly valuable in 7k+ games as you never have time to revive and/or enemies will camp dead bodies. Zenith's ability to revive through walls can also be exploited.
In game tactics
This is already a long post, so I'll brain dump common improvements / mistakes that I come across. Feel free to ask questions in the comments.
- Don't be greedy and go after risky upgrades. More often than not you're going to get sucked into an early fight. Even if you win that one, you'll quickly get swarmed by bots and/or other teams. It's not worth losing a round because you might get a purple upgrade.
- Don't be greedy for early ammo and upgrades. In 7k+ games, fights can/will happen by the time you've picked up 1-2 items. Taking multiple ammo means losing an effective teammate that can shoot a weapon. If you're a low ammo user (e.g. Vi, Slayer, Bastion), opt for a 2x or 3x ammo pack and leave the 4x ammo pack for high ammo users (e.g. SMGs, assault rifles). Leave and ping optimal upgrades for teammates. This means reserving scopes for snipers, armor for machine gunners, extended magazine for SMG/shotgunners, explosive ammo for DPS.
- Shotgun users should heal at spawn and save the armor pickup for others.
- Generally stick together as a team.
- Don't follow suiciders (bots/humans) and get sucked into unnecessary fights, preferring to fight 2v3v3v3. Yes this conflicts with the above bullet point.
- Learn the map. This means knowing where are the spawns, purple chests, hot zones, and choke points. This means you can anticipate where you'll need to slow down and prepare for a fight (e.g. early game near purple chests). In low/mid tiers, human teammates often run straight for a neighboring spawn while completely ignoring the safe purple chest right behind them because they run straight ahead in the direction they were facing when spawned. I find it easiest to familiarize myself with maps by using heroes with high vision like snipers (particularly Lynx) and Raven.
- Develop map awareness. You can tell who is left based on the gun sounds and the weapon in kill notifications. Generally avoid fights with many teams remaining, and go after the last two teams as they're fighting. If machine gunners are remaining, try to find open spaces. If snipers are remaining, try to initiate fights near corners and obstacles. In low/mid tiers, human teammates will often emulate bots and run straight towards the fight with a complete lack of map awareness.
- Good Shenji users use grenades to zone enemies rather than outright damage. Bad Shenji users kill their teammates / prevent them from being useful. If you're playing with a Shenji teammate, expect that they're going to nade everything and act accordingly.
- Tess users should try to use the lightning ball judiciously against enemy shields or to zone, and not disable their teammates' shields and abilities.
- Cyclops/Raven users should not spam their skill early game, and used selectively late game. It gives away your position and in high tier games only invites unwanted attention. Learn to use scan offensively and defensively when appropriate. At higher trophies, it can be used as a feint for an invasion or to lure enemies into a trap.
- SMG users should use stimpacks offensively rather than only to heal.
- There is a time to initiate and time to fall back. In early/mid tiers, people need to learn to retreat more often (and communicate it to their teammates). I wish I had more actionable advice, but I can tell when a fight was initiated well or poorly. Don't attack that unsuspecting enemy just because you can, but attack if it's the right time to do so.
tldr
I thoroughly enjoyed playing Bullet Echo, bots and all.

2024.05.14 07:59 _Sarcastic__guy Help me make the decision! Please!
Hey, thankyou for taking time and listening to me and your thoughts would mean world to me so thanks in advance. So I've been a very average student and really a below average college graduate. I was sold the dream of IIM in 2019 and i bought it... I gave my everything and scored 90 percentile in firat attempt.. i couldn't make it to IIMs then so everyone told me to keep my hopes hugh and prepare for another year... I am a commerce graduate with a profile of 7/7/6 so i wouldn't be getting much of a job then so i prepared for another year and scored 85%ile. I fell in depression and fucked my year again... Then again i gave CAT in 2021 and scored 89%ile till now i figured out that CAT isn't for me but my whole personality was drawn around CAT so i took a decision to go for SSC and BANK papers and give CAT every year without preparing and give that token of respect to CAT for defeating me. I cracked all BANKs and SSC papers twice in 2022 and 2023 like all pre , mains everything but always choked in interviews and couldn't make it to any merit lists. Cracking paper became piece of cake for me and i also got offered for many teaching jobs but i wanted to go into REAL JOBS and i know i am not much of a teacher... I gave 2023 CAT too as because of aforementioned reason without even a perp of day and scored 96%ile i was into the clouds that finally my dreams of getting into IIMs would be fulfilled and I'll get to be above average for once. I gave my best interview in CAP but damn didn't get any shortlisting have EOI in bodhgaya and Jammu but I don't wanna get into those IIMs after wasting 5 years of my life . I wanted Rapiur ,Ranchi,Udaipur,Trichy and they all just dropped me . At this particular point of time I don't know what to do i cry every night because of what people feel that i am and i am a f*cking ZERO. I DON'T KNOW SHOULD I TAKE THEM? or shall I again prep for SSCs because i might make it to merit list with better preparation... I come from a very lower middle class background and my father is gonna get retired next year November...i have time till then only or maybe 1 year more... Please take these things into consideration and tell me what to go for i am tired of being in such clueless condition. Thankyou.

2024.05.14 07:23 TransEleanor I’ve settled on crews!
So of the keywords I’ve collected thus far, I think my go-to crews will be Youko (1&2) and Lihn (1&2).
For these crews, I plan to pack:
Youko 1, Youko 2, Chiyo, Bill, Hinamatsu, Kunoichi, Stabbit Rabbit (Lone Swordsman) or Miss Guided (Fuhatsu). [32 points]
Lihn 1, Lihn 2, Jade Rabbit, Book Keeper, Map Map, Story of Thánh Gióng, Paper Tiger, Story of Sūn Wùkōng, Story of Raijin. [45 points]
Miscellaneous/shared/tech? Kara, one terracotta warrior, one extra Kunoichi, two Charm Warders.
My over all goal is to make sure I can move them all easily for travel. I want to make sure all the models can fit easily into 3 of the Cobalt Keep Army Display boxes, because I have discovered 3 boxes fit about perfectly in a standard school backpack with 2 tokens boxes and all the cards I need in an index card binder.
Am I missing any key models for my planned pack out? How does the Story of Thanh Giong work with Youko 2? Does he stand up well without the passive(ish) healing from the rest of the Story key word?
Thoughts on Lust? The model (-glances at the Scoundrels-) specifically the model from the Crossroads Seven.
I now have 20 keywords, so I’m officially done collecting! (For at least a week or 2)

2024.05.14 05:49 Financial_Ad_6658 How much slower are spouses supposed to gain friendship?
Marked as spoiler because screenshots contain items added in 1.6.
Screenshots are of
Lookup Anything.
I don't think any of my mods are causing this, but for thoroughness, this is all of the ones I have installed:
According to the
wiki:
- Talking to spouse should gain 20 points
- Kissing spouse should gain 10 points
- Friendship gain or loss from gifting spouse is halved.
I'm doing my farmer-breaks-everyone's-hearts-and-collects-spouse-portraits-like-pokemon-cards run, and I noticed that the way spouses gain friendship points isn't consistent with the wiki. I've read Friendship 101, so, I should gain 22 points for talking, 11 points for kissing, and 66 points for an iridium-quality loved gift (80 base * 1.5 quality * 1.1 Friendship 101 multiplier / 2). That isn't what I've been observing.
I start with seven points to next heart with Alex:
https://preview.redd.it/j7lrgr53eb0d1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=1eb85829ac8afaeff2576c4696c78302e9ef5090 Talking to him should gain me 22 points and bring me to the next heart, leaving me with 235 points to the next heart. But once I talk to him, it says next heart in 243 points--eight points short of expected.
https://preview.redd.it/viee71x3eb0d1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=8fcb4b608233920dbb945650a051813d2a1aaddb Kissing should gain 11 points, so next heart after kissing should be in 232 points. But one kiss later, Lookup Anything tells me that I'm 236 points to the next heart--four points shy of expected.
https://preview.redd.it/jhnv9px4eb0d1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=1640015df816d6fe32ffe7b4f375e23b351d3721 Finally, an iridium quality loved gift should net me 66 points, so an iridium rabbit's foot should leave me with 170 points until the next heart. One expensive gift later, I have 193 points to the next heart--the rabbit's foot has only gained me 43 friendship points instead of 66.
https://preview.redd.it/orfmzkl5eb0d1.png?width=2560&format=png&auto=webp&s=598e5be6582e5f9103cd2834c39f3dbbf049e918 So, what's up with this? Is this how the game is supposed to behave? Is the wiki wrong, or am I misunderstanding it? Is this behavior incorrect and potentially caused by a mod?

2024.05.14 05:44 buttjuliothikk Why I think KENDU is about to run... HARD
| Here's the deal. There's a lot of chatter about the return of meme stocks and I'm sure you've all seen GME and AMC charts from today. Fucking rockets... but lets talk about meme coins and why I think there is going to be a brand new set of meme millionaires born from the meme action we're seeing today. (I'll save you some time if you don't feel like reading... they'll all be in KENDU). As you all know, back in the good ol' days of 2021 when we were all face humping masks and rotting in our houses, some real fun was had and a lot of "New Money" millionaires were born. Some of these were from meme stocks, but a lot of people made fat bags on meme coins which they carry with them to this day. First in Jan/Feb $DOGE pumped. Following this, $SHIBA ($KENDU's Chad in Arms) pumped. These coins lost a bit off the top, but have sustained multi-billion dollar market caps to this day. But could they have done it on their own? Was this all just coincidence? Were market conditions so different that these pumps were just a factor of people being stuck at home with nothing better to do than sit there, thumb in ass, trading memes? Science says NAY!! Please bear in mind that I'm wearing a helmet, which might have restricted some of the blood flow to my brain. This is NFA and you should DYOR... but I'm all in. To prove my point, I am referencing the paper " The connectedness between meme tokens, meme stocks, and other asset classes: Evidence from a quantile connectedness approach" by Yousaf et al. from 2022. Please note that I only have access to the pre-print, so the peer-reviewed edition might be a little different, but I would muster a guess, not really. These authors are using data from 2020-2022, which includes data outside of the range of what I would consider the "hard" meme squeeze (Jan. 2021 and the few months following). Given the analysis from this paper was done using data from August 2020 to April 2021, I posit that the conclusions the authors draw, can and will apply to meme events outside of the infamous 2021 meme run which some might say is the primary reason meme coins squoze. The HUGE meme coin runs we saw in SHIB and DOGE might have been born of the "Funny Money" era, but lock-down degeneracy isn't the end all when predicting price movements. The meat "Why, Butt?" I hear you ask. "Why do you bring this paper up?". Surely it can't be because you wanted to "prove" that meme coins can run outside of the golden age of meme pumps? Well dear Redditor... yes and no. I bring it up also because of the interesting point it mentions about how predictive certain market events are for similar market events in other assets. To do this, the authors use Quantile Connectedness (QC) to analyze Meme stocks, Meme coins, and some more traditional asset classes like USD, Treasuries and Gold. QC is a concept used in economics to measure the degree of interdependence (how connected things are) among different segments of financial markets. The method uses some fancy stats and math to do so, and the analysis done in this paper says some interesting things about the interplay between traditional assets, meme assets and meme pumps (summarized in the following screen grab). Memes go brrrrrr... other things do too Yousaf, 2022 - The connectedness between meme tokens, meme stocks, and other asset classes: Evidence from a quantile connectedness approach. So... market events in the upper extreme quantile (or in laymen terms, extreme upwards market movements) in meme assets tend to cause spillover events into both meme assets and traditional financial assets. That's interesting... You know what we saw today? An extreme upward market movement. Specifically GME and AMC, which are both up over 100% (in after hours) from previous close. Second, and perhaps more of a bull case for me... the spillover events are even more well predicted by movement in meme stocks than they are by movement in BTC (please see the useful red circle in the screen-grab below). Higher number = better prediction of spillover event. So, SO often, I hear people predicting runs in the smaller meme coins based strictly on what BTC is expected to do. But it turns out, there's an even better predictor!!! Meme stocks! Please also note: The authors state "All meme assets are highly positively skewed, which reflects their price surges during short squeezing periods." Pretty sure this means, green begets more green for these spillover events. The spillover effects from extreme moves in GME, AMC, and BTC as they relate to DOGE and SHIB All this brings me to my last point. What does this all mean for meme coins and for $KENDU? I hear you thinking "Why not just choose SHIB or DOGE, Butt?" and I get it... safe bets that will for sure "moon". Yes... "moon" :eye roll: These coins are fine and good if you want to just grow the bags you've been holding and just keep, HODLing... but I know the real reason you all are playing meme coins, and it's that sweet, sweet alpha. You don't want to see the 2x, or 3x that these bigger memes might fetch during the next run. You're looking to eat zeros... and the only way to do that is to get in early with a coin that is going to FUCKING RUN! Enter KENDU INU... it's the coin that "Can do" Arguably, the most important fundamental for a meme coin is the hype that it generates and how infectious its energy is. Well, you're not going to find a more hype community with a more infectious can do attitude than the KENDU community. The TG is wild, memes are on point, new art being made ALL THE TIME, and so much love and support for every single member in the Kendu clan. Ignoring the fluffy feel good stuff though (NO DON'T DO THAT), what does this coin really have going for it. I'm glad you asked. - We have strong support in the 40M range right now and are primed to run.
- There are ABSOLUTELY (and we mean stay TF away if your looking to trade capital for services) no paid shills. Everyone is working hard to get this coin to 1BN+ and to get there organically! We know we can do it!
- Shytoshi Kusama (the project lead for SHIB) has been following the project since 300 xitter followers. Shytoshi has also joined our Telegram community and said that he wants to feature KENDU in Shiba Magazine (Look for the screen grabs in the comments).
- The mega-chad developer, Kendu Miyazaki, has run multiple projects to 100M+ and is an incredibly active part of the community.
- The coin has recently been listed on some BIG crypto tracking platforms like CMC.
- 3 top 10 exchanges are lined up to launch KENDU when the time is right. One of these exchanges is a top 5 CEX !!!
- The community! The community! The community!! (One more time for those who didn't hear: The Community!). This community is unhinged in the best way. So many people dedicated to the success of the coin and to keeping positive vibes going ALL THE TIME in the Telegram.
- What more sorta hype could you ask for!!
I will leave you with this. Dump those trash coins, put your M-Effin helmet on, and join the KENDU Clan! Screw these JEET ass meme coins. KENDU is the only play! TLDR: - Huge meme alpha was not strictly generated from pandemic lock-down funny money degeneracy.
- The GME and AMC pumps we saw today are a good predictor for what's to come with meme coins.
- You want alpha and to add to zeros to your portfolio. Bigger coins WILL NOT do that as well for you.
- Those other meme coins don't hold a candle to the dedication and spirit that all my fellow KENDU Chad's have!
- IT'S STILL FUCKING EARLY!!!
TLDR the TLDR: Meme coins are going to run and $KENDU is going to own the day! submitted by buttjuliothikk to KenduInu_Ecosystem [link] [comments] |
2024.05.14 05:13 LaughterOnWater Optimizing Hyperparameters for Language Model Fine-Tuning on Windows 10
| EDIT: Apologies for not being clear. Using Windows 10, 64GB RAM, RTX3090, LM Studio. I can set up a conda if necessary. I have several existing GGUF's that I really like. They work well on my machine. I'd like to find the sweet spot for settings that I can save to an LM Studio preset.json file. Rather than just diddle around with settings slowly, I was hoping that someone might have already created a github repo with a systematic method for discovering best settings of existing gguf files. For example, I'm using lmstudio-community/Meta-Llama-3-70B-Instruct-GGUF/Meta-Llama-3-70B-Instruct-IQ2_XS.gguf, which can achieve about 3.2tok/s with everything default except tweaks to these settings: n_ctx = 16384 n_gpu_layers = 64 rope_freq_scale = 0.85 rope_freq_base = 1000000 The context coherence lasts almost to the end of the context window, with reason becoming muzzy at about 13K, but the only discernable hallucination happening well into the 15K token range. Responses become predictably shorter after about 20 responses and then too short for an actual answer at about 30. It took me a lot of just diddling around to find these settings, but the end result is a reasonably long context with 3.2 tok/s at the beginning of the thread and about 2.9 at the end. It's almost as fast as reading aloud, so it's reasonable. There are some even larger ggufs that work at 1.2 tok/s, but it's agony waiting for a response. The larger quant barely creaks along on my machine, but the outcome is superior to the IQ2_XS model. I'd love to try to tweak the preset parameters so I get the best response time possible for my machine, but I don't want to have to muddle through the settings manually. The specific hyperparameters I want to optimize are: - Context Length
- GPU Offload
- RoPE (Rotary Position Embedding) Frequency Scale
- RoPE Frequency Base
- Other suggested parameters ???
My previous understanding is that finding the optimal values for these parameters involves a process called Hyperparameter Tuning or Hyperparameter Optimization, often using techniques like Grid Search. I now understand that these are parameters for actually creating the gguf from the unquantized model. I'm not trying to fine tune a model. Rather, I'm trying to fine-tune parameter settings for an existing bake on my machine. Rather than reinvent the wheel, I'm looking for a git-hub repo with appropriate python scripting already crafted to do this work: basically chug through a grid of parameters to find the sweet spot for my machine and my preferred LLMs on LM Studio. I'd be grateful for a link. I'm all for easy-to-follow recipes, if you have them. Thanks in advance. submitted by LaughterOnWater to LocalLLaMA [link] [comments] |
