If you take modularity as a machine empire you can do the Liquid Metal trait which gives -50% amenities and then combine it with the enigmatic fortress trait which also gives -50% amenities (if you are lucky enough to get that on your run) for an amenity free species. This was in fact so broken that I couldn’t bring myself to actually do it. So I’m just using the Liquid Metal trait alone and using the automated dreadnaught trait instead of enigmatic.

I created a new character at a break in our campaign to replace my cleric/sorcerer. The new character is a level 8 assassin as I wanted something a little more powerful in combat but it's a little one note when it comes to what I can do on my turns.
I really like the character but want to mix things up so to solve this I'm looking at multiclassing into either fighter (eventually Battle Master) or Bard (College of Swords). I'd probably take a minimum of three levels in either, but probably enough for multiattack (so 5 fighter or 6 Bard).
Both feel like something which is beneficial in combat and adding some variety, while complimenting my existing class abilities. Stats are 12, 20, 18, 10, 11 and 16.
Any thoughts on how either of these would play? I'm thinking dueling fighting style if I pick fighter and eventually feint and other useful manoeuvres to provide more advantaged attacks.

Hi all.
I have an issue with my A7RIV image sensor. Shot an event over the weekend, and the client had someone use some laser lights for some displays. I pointed my camera at the light for a bit too long and voila. Sensor got burnt. I did not know they were laser lights till after the camera got damaged.
Anywho, I'd like to know if anyone can point me in the right direction of where I can buy a sensor for the camera. Yeah, i'll be taking care of repairs myself, just having issues finding where to buy the sensor. There seems to be a sensor for every other Sony Alpha camera available on ebay except this one.

17F, 5'6, ~250, white, i take zertec daily, no other drugs, previously had lyme disease(my mom says it matters), and title for complaint.
Basically: I'm sick 24/7. Since like last fall I have been super sick, I'm talking I'm basically a student with perfect attendance but this year I've missed around 15 days(which may not seem like a lot to some but it is to me). I finally started to feel better around a week or two ago and then I got a flu like thing.
I hurt all over, bad cough, chills and hot flashes, and a lot else.
I just don't get why I'm so sick so often. I wash my hands everytime I can. I use hand sanitizer when I can't. I never like touch my face unless I wash my hands. The only things I can think of is that I work with kids.
I work in a kitchen so we are extra extra clean in there. It's basically a kids jungle gym place where we let kids play, I usually don't come in contact with them unless they cough on my stuff, and even then I sanitize it and wash my hands. Is it just cause they're coughing on me??
I should also mention again that I had lyme disease around 8 years ago when I was in fourth grade. I was sick for like a month and my primary doctor said it'd stick with me for my life after that. Later on some doctor here on reddit said that it wasn't a thing or smth i forgot. BUT STILL. I just need a clue since we're too poor to go to the doctor.(AKA my mom wouldn't take me and only thought of it cause I had covid over winter)
TLDR: I'm sick all the time, had covid, lyme, and now the flu(again), I work with kids and do a good amount to try and stay healthy.

Using gigastructural engineering, tried screwing with the files for 3h now can’t find what’s causing it.
I’m trying to merge behemoth planetcraft/attack moons with my normal fleet. All goes well, already changed the fleets to be mergeable etc. But then shortly after jumping system or moving around a little, all the ships from corvettes to titans decide to take an incredibly wide formation, with ship spacing about the same as a Dyson sphere between corvettes. (3.11, gigastructural engineering).
Driving me nuts can’t find what’s causing it but it is linked to the size of the planet raft (planet merging makes the fleet more wide than moon merging).
Anyone know what I’m missing?

So currently helmets are purely aesthetic, although I think Pilestedt has made mention of the idea of different helmets having different HUDs...
...How about a warbond that gives some glare reduction helmets? Overhead lighting is an Automaton conspiracy and you cannot convince me otherwise! And the glare conditions on Menkent are clearly part of the Automaton strategy. I will take sunglasses on top of my helmet if it means I can see better in bright conditions. And heck, different coloured tints on those shades could be great too. Democracy's always better with rose-tinted eye protection.
Weapons could involve an "assault rifle" that is just the same thousand lumen bulbs the Automatons have been sneaking into SEAF and colonist bases, and then the bots and bugs can see how THEY like being blinded. Maybe a highly reflective cape to help teammates get that glare where it needs to go - in the enemy's photoreceptors.

It takes whole year to make bread. So how can i fast this process? I have 2 farm house, takes for ever to deliver dtuff to windmill. And pitkin the flour, takes also long time. I have 1 windmill and 1 owen.

Hi everyone, i’ve been drinking 2 days in a row now, yesterday i made a shtshow. Me and my friends got in an argument and they “officially” gave up on me and trying to help me, they said im a selfish ahh hole who only cares about being drunk/sedated/high and stuff and if i wanna take drugs and drinking then i can do that, they dont care about me anymore so yeah.because of drinkijg alcohol I was shaking today morning again and puking / vomiting again i think because of the alcohol. Luckily i didnt drink so much yesterdday night, i felt so fcking rock bottom. I feel so bad about myself and the few people who never gave up on me, now gave up on me. It truky s*cks man. Some compession would be appreciated idk what to do:-(((

I’m starting to work night shift at my job starting the beginning of June, but I’m not sure when I should take my Lexapro? (Bonus points if you also take straterra or a non-stimulant ADHD med bc I do too).
I take it as soon as I wake up right now, between 5 - 8 am. When I start night shift, 3 days a week I will be working 6:30pm-7am then trying to flip to being awake during the day when not working. I feel like I don’t want to take it when I get home those days I work, because I’ve heard it can cause insomnia if taken close to when you sleep.
Would it be good to get in the habit of taking it at 1-2pm maybe? I will be awake then whether I worked that day or not.
Note: I did ask my psychiatrist, & she just said it’s up to me to decide when I want to take the straterra & lexapro. :/

Grave is i think my favorite OSR game. it's a lesser-known hack of Knave 1e designed for dark souls inspired games and i've been running a campaign of it for roughly 2 years now. i praise it here every time i get the opportunity - i've ended up liking it so much, actually, that i really wanted it to be the default system i use for D&D-style fantasy.
this is a bit of an issue as the dark souls elements (souls as both currency & XP, PCs getting multiple deaths, etc) are a pretty specific flavor, so it requires some tweaking. but i want to talk about why i like the system so much before talking about making it work more seamlessly for vanilla fantasy.
good stuff unchanged from Knave: knave 1e is popular enough here that i probably don't need to introduce it, but in case anyone is out of the loop, here you go

• super lightweight, as knave's only 7 pages long
• rather than picking a class, your character is defined entirely by randomly rolled stats & gear. you be a fighter by spending your limited inventory on a big sword & armor and having good strength, you play a wizard by carrying a bunch of spellbooks and having good intelligence. etc etc. very elegant and streamlined
• simple, quick iterations on various old-D&D mechanics, like reaction rolls, morale, monster stats, etc. one-roll side-based initiative. i tend to prefer these over actual D&D/retroclones since they're so clean and easy for new GMs and players to remember

reasons i like Grave specifically:

• PCs have stamina - a resource for spells/combat maneuvers - equal to their empty item slots, adding an axis of customization where a fighter might be more heavily armed & armored for bigger numbers with fewer maneuvers, or play a more nimble swashbuckler for lower numbers with a lot more maneuvers.
• spells are divided into wizardry (INT), theurgy (WIS) and witchcraft (CHA) which adds much more diversity to casters. a wizard and cleric now feel different whereas in knave 1e all spellcasters are largely interchangeable. combined with the stamina mechanic this gives grave vastly more PC diversity than knave while adding very little extra crunch, which i think is super impressive
• grave adds premade packages of starting stats/gear as an alternative to rolling (though you can still roll), essentially adding back character classes. this is really nice, especially when running for new players whose expectations are closer to something like 5e.
• multiple second chances at death per PC (because dark souls) - a little anti-OSR, but i really like it for giving new players a bit of a buffer & time to get invested in their PC. importantly, this only ever goes down as you die, never up, so you have this really nice ticking-clock thing going on as you die more often. it is still way too generous with extra deaths tho, if you run grave i recommend cutting the amount of second chances in half
• whole page of 50 magic items that are all cool and flavorful. the $2 PDF price is probably worth it just for these honestly
• sands off a couple of knave's oddities, like using wisdom for ranged attacks instead of dex. this is an upside or downside depending on preference, but i find it more intuitive to new players

seriously you should play grave. it's so good

my houserules

with 5e being my first ttrpg, that slightly more heroic-fantasy vibe influenced my design here a bit; my goal was to essentially replace 5e with grave as my go-to system for people new to RPGs. you can find the full PDF here!

• diceless skills: i really like skills as a way to customize PCs a little further, but i dislike defaulting to a die roll for task resolution. so instead the game uses a spin on joseph manola's skill system, i.e. if you have the skill on your sheet, you're just considered really good at that thing for the purpose of the GM's rulings. & that's the whole mechanic.
• weapon traits: easy-to-remember, one-sentence traits like crushing weapons being good against armor, rapiers giving you more maneuvers, axes cleaving through enemies, spears having extra reach, etc. weapons deal more damage if they're heavier or don't have traits. the goal is for weapon choice to feel impactful without there being an obvious best one.
• dungeon crawl procedure: this is something knave & grave lack and it's the only thing i feel is really missing from them. i don't really like super-structured dungeon turns with each PC picking exactly 1 action/movement each 10 minutes, so here the referee just marks off 10 minutes behind the screen as appropriate.
• balance adjustments: i love getting to discover characters instead of hand-craft them, so i kept the rolling option on top of grave's classes. but it is reworked so now it gives you the same amount of stats as everyone else, just randomizing where they go instead of how good or bad they are, since i've never liked that power variance. HP is also standardized now.
• ticking-clock deaths: i wanted to keep grave's feeling of gradually getting closer to death the more you fall in combat, even though there's no extra-lives thing built into the lore here. instead you take a mortal wound each time you reach 0HP, and when you hit 3 wounds, you die. they never go away. i like it better than straight death at 0HP because it gives new players a chance to make mistakes without instantly dying, but is still an impactful, permanent consequence.
• other additions: different playable creatures like elves/goblins/etc, a little bestiary, some GM advice, a d50 potion table, proper XP-for-gold rules, free maneuver on to-hit rolls of 20+ (stolen from knave 2e), and a simple character sheet.

i've run this version of grave for kids a few times and it's gone really well. ben milton & jason tocci (knave and grave designers respectively) deserve most of the credit here, since i'm just building on their work and creativity. huge thanks to both of them

Ok to give some backstory I am very new to coding and most likely made a lot of mistakes when setting up the plug-ins however this is the situation. My friends and I are hosting a vanilla uhc 1.8 event using command blocks and plug-ins. We have everything we need except we are trying to make goldenheads and to do that we need a player to drop a head and then be able to take the head surround it with gold and turn it into a golden head. Now we could just go on bukkit or spigot and look for a plug in there however nothing we find ever works and we have no idea why. So we tried making our own, we tried setting up command blocks to make the player drop the head on death. And we got a custom crafting recipe plug in to be able to make custom golden apples out of the player heads. However the name of the head that drops is different than the required name of the head for the recipe. (I'm sorry if I explained that poorly I just pulled an all-nighter trying to figure this out) So we had the idea of having a player drop a mob head when they die, which sounds great except for the fact that we have no idea how to do that. And this is really starting to get to me mentally so I am just coming here asking for help now. I have been up for 19 hours trying to get this to work and not getting anywhere. If anyone has a helpful tip they can give me for trying to get a player to drop a mob head or maybe just a better plug in for golden head drops that would be immensely helpful and thank you ahead of time.

I sell structures that have a lot of moving parts and come packaged with a full suite of supporting equipment so it takes a lot of technical knowledge, time and effort assessing each customer’s need, and how we can value engineer a solution that works for the budget.
I get 0.5% and a $75k base for structural material sales (agricultural). Consistently a top earner and one of the two top reps in terms of technical knowledge. Pulled around $106k last year off of $5M invoiced.
They then moved me from my sales estimating/design role (technical sales, only dealing with qualified large scale accounts, not responsible for much more than doing the presentation and adjusting quotes) to full-cycle sales (qualifying, closing, quoting, etc) which is much more responsibility (at least 2x fold).
However, they kept my comission structure the same as when I was estimating, with the excuse that my base rate is 2x the other reps (their comission rate is 1.25% vs my .5%, I get $36/hr they get $18/hr). They also took away my 1 week per month of WFH while the senior rep gets full time WFH, despite me outperforming him consistently in terms of activity and entered dollars. When confronted about this, the track record “isn’t proven enough”
Even with no pipeline (I didn’t get direct leads when I was estimating for the other rep’s leads), in the past year I have sold 2x more than the senior rep (only guy above me in this division, who has been with the company over 10 yrs), and closed a $600k deal which would be our company’s most high-profile/prominent project last month. I am immensely ambitious and hungry, with the results to back it up, but this company seems hellbent on keeping me from advancing my career
Seeing a lot of the folks comp plans here has me feeling like I’m getting fucked hard. I’m 27 and have been in sales/estimating for 3.5 yrs at this company for reference. Worked in industry before, which is why I’m so much more knowledgeable vs other reps. I talked to my manager about these concerns and he said “I make plenty for a 27 yr old” which made me see red. Leapfrogged him and discussed with his boss (3rd in command) who will be “looking into options” which seems like a cop-out.
Any tips on getting a better pay structure when ownership/management act like a bunch of chodes? Job market is soft in my field so getting competitive offers has been slow going. I’ve made millions every year for this company but asking for just .2% comission increase seems to be like pulling teeth. Ownership is so greedy here. $120-140M/yr but there’s never any money for the reps….
Morale here is so low, but all the reps love eachother like family, it’s really just the top 5 managers ruining the entire company for the rest of us (I can go on and on about how under qualified they are for their positions). Ideally would like to stay at this company as I bought a home in the area last year, but logic is telling me it’s time to rip off the bandaid.

Peace be with you. I don't know what's the best community to ask this in, but I could use some advice. Does anyone here have any experience (personally or someone you know) with getting a work visa in the US through a church?
I'm currently planning to study in Texas, but my long-term goal is to stay there after graduation. I would love to study theology, but I also have to consider the risks of actual applicability.
Basically, my dilemma is whether I should get an Associate's for a trade (electrician, HVAC, welding, etc.) to maximize my chances of getting hired and sponsored for a visa, get some stability, and then pivot to theology, or to enroll in a seminary right away. It's a difficult decision because I've never been really interested in the trades, and I worry that it will just frustrate me and I'll waste money.
The advisors tell me that there are various paths I could take besides ministry if I go the theology route. I have some experience and interest in composition of sacred music and singing, but I doubt that I could get hired as a full-time composemusician as a foreigner, especially since I still need training in that area - though I have visited an Ortho church there where they write their own liturgical music.
Ultimately, a lot can happen in the few years of study where God can make paths that I can't foresee right now, but I could still use a little assurance in my choice. Do you know any international students who found a place in your church and were able to get stable work there in any capacity? Thanks for any insight.

I live with my elderly parents yesterday my dad got sick and I had to take him to the hospital about an hour after I got off work, I was in the hospital with him for 8hours he’s very stubborn I hate that I worry about them so much sometimes I wish I was never born I just feel like a failure 😞 I feel like I don’t have a life im scared of everything anxiety plays a big roll in my life. I had a panic attack at the hospital from my dad being stubborn how can I get out of this gloomy feeling like the world is against me 🤦🏾‍♀️

I think we're good enough to but have blown some chances this is more of a reflection on on who's in the top 8 ahead of us, its hard to see anyone dropping out, essendon has been kissed on the dick by the fixture and the rest are hard to see dropping too many games. Not taking chances early in the year probably gonna bite us. If we make it who can you see dropping out?
