Hi, Years ago we moved to Connectwise Automate & Manage....... now automate was probably one of the worst mistakes we made, it was really badly implemented and not setup correctly and just gave us so much unhandled noise, it became a full time job just to stay on top of it, and hours at the weekends to save my sanity on a Monday morning......
Last year I migrated us over from Automate to NinjaOne (but we still kept CW Manage as PSA), and this was an amazing move, everything just works so well, everything is automated/named correctly and just ultra reliable, the integration provided by NinjaOne into Manage is rock solid & super customizable.
Now this led onto better things, my time wasnt wasted chasing my tail on the mess that automate just spat out (one time i went on holiday for a week and came back to 800+ tickets (mostly noise) but still it gave me a whole lot of anxiety even having a day off... Ninja now its so well configured mostly takes care of itself, amazing monitoring/correctly named/to right teams etc
This then gave me a lot of extra time that I have over the past year become an absolute powershell/scripting whizz, using API's etc to automate documentation and gather info/reports, add amazing data into custom fields that the team wants, so my time is being better spent (than dealing with noise and crap) and I fear this is where we are heading again (while not as bad as automate) I can already see the mess that Halo is going to cause and extra time to deal with stuff. (ive made my points very clear to our CEO) but as the rest of the staff are all happy with Halo, Im the minority here
Now im not comparing PSA's here as they do a whole lot more, but specifically I am the one that deals with the RMM/PSA integration ticketing/alerts/monitoring etc
So our MSP decided to trial HALO, and everyone (except me) is happy, I voted that its a huge NO,
Things that are causing me issues

• No activities from ninja to halo (gravityzone alerts/patching etc) - so basically the NinjaOne/Gravityzone Integration cannot send any alerts for failed installs/virus's to Halo
• Inconsistent alert resets (50/50 chance of a ninja reset actually closing the halo ticket) - examples Service stopped, ninja triggers the alert, the service back on, Ninja resets the alert..... we get left with some tickets in Halo that dont reset..... (so i now need to cross check everything!) back to my weekend or time off anxiety!
• Unable to add a asset/device name to a ticket template... Supposedly $AFName should work but it doesn't (we use custom template names for tickets to keep things standardised)
• No stacking or bundling of duplicate events, so certain tickets that techs just sit on for days and days and weeks etc ill be having to manually merge each day.
• Adding a new device or org in ninja is immediately available in cw manage... With halo I need to do a full sync manually which then takes 3hours.... (Or wait the once daily sync)
• In ninja I have alerts that send me SMS for webhook failures... Now I've never had a single one for our Ninja to MS teams webhooks But each day I get 2-3 failed to send to halo failures....
• Halo is Slow! im not sure if its just that we are in trial, but halo compared to Manage is really slow to load tickets.
• No Desktop App (now usually im not a fan of desktop app's) - I actually prefer NinjaOne is Pure web app! But I do like CW Manage's Desktop app, and its tabbed layout, add to that how slow Halo is to load tickets.... Extra lost time here

Are any of these the kind of issues you are seeing with ninja/halo (especially if you came from CW Manage?)
Although I'm not a fan of CW manage... The ninja integration is amazing and works as expected 100% reliable
Halo / ninja to me is going to cause me major headaches, a LOT of wasted time, Weekend Anxiety AGAIN! and that I have made my points clear to our org... But fear a lot! of wasted time ahead for me!
again im not here comparing Manage/Halo as a PSA on the whole, my Gripes are mostly (i think) aimed around the what appears to me be a very flakey webhook integration? (is it possible that the webhook in the trial version is just not as reliable/prioritized?)
Halo for me and Ninja/rmm alerts its a huge step backwards imho.... (holding out hope that one day things get implemented or fixed) now I do understand the needs of the business are not just around my needs, but it is counter intuitive to me to take this step backwards right now.

OVERVIEW: Multiple vulnerabilities have been discovered in Adobe products, the most severe of which could allow for arbitrary code execution.

• Adobe Acrobat is a family of application software and Web services used to view, create, manipulate, print and manage Portable Document Format (PDF) files.
• Adobe Substance3D Painter is a 3D painting software that allows users to texture and add materials directly to 3D meshes in real-time.
• Adobe Substance3D Designer is a 3D design software that generates textures from procedural patterns inside node-based graphs.
• Adobe Aero is a cross platform solution that enables creatives with no coding and mininmal 3D experience to design, share, and view interactive augmented reality experiences.
• Adobe FrameMaker lets you create structured or template-based documents, review and collaborate with multiple content management systems and publish to a multitude of devices.
• Adobe Dreamweaver is a proprietary web development tool.
• Adobe Illustrator is a vector graphics editor and design software.
• Adobe Animate is used to create vector graphics and interactive content.

Successful exploitation of the most severe of these vulnerabilities could allow for arbitrary code execution in the context of the logged on user. Depending on the privileges associated with the user, an attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights. Users whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than those who operate with administrative user rights

  • Safeguard 7.2 : Establish and Maintain a Remediation Process: Establish and maintain a risk-based remediation strategy documented in a remediation process, with monthly, or more frequent, reviews.
  • Safeguard 7.6 : Perform Automated Vulnerability Scans of Externally-Exposed Enterprise Assets: Perform automated vulnerability scans of externally-exposed enterprise assets using a SCAP-compliant vulnerability scanning tool. Perform scans on a monthly, or more frequent, basis.
  • Safeguard 7.7 : Remediate Detected Vulnerabilities: Remediate detected vulnerabilities in software through processes and tooling on a monthly, or more frequent, basis, based on the remediation process.
  • Safeguard 16.13 Conduct Application Penetration Testing: Conduct application penetration testing. For critical applications, authenticated penetration testing is better suited to finding business logic vulnerabilities than code scanning and automated security testing. Penetration testing relies on the skill of the tester to manually manipulate an application as an authenticated and unauthenticated user.

  • Safeguard 4.7: Manage Default Accounts on Enterprise Assets and Software: Manage default accounts on enterprise assets and software, such as root, administrator, and other pre-configured vendor accounts. Example implementations can include: disabling default accounts or making them unusable.
  • Safeguard 5.4: Restrict Administrator Privileges to Dedicated Administrator Accounts: Restrict administrator privileges to dedicated administrator accounts on enterprise assets. Conduct general computing activities, such as internet browsing, email, and productivity suite use, from the user’s primary, non-privileged account.

  • Safeguard 9.6: Block Unnecessary File Types: Block unnecessary file types attempting to enter the enterprise’s email gateway.

~Foreword~
Last weekend we changed from old Firewall Hardware to new one.
On our Productionsite we switched from "PA-3250" to "PA-1410".
In our Datacenter, we switched from "PA-5250" to "PA-5410".

I am writing this article in case someone needs an easy way to replace old Hardware.
I wasnt able to find an article/discussion on this topic directly, so I'm writing one.

The Discussion/Article will consist of the following Points:

1. Foreword
2. General Information
3. Our approach
4. "How To" (TLDR)
5. How to replace a Firewall with "Device States"-Export (In Detail)
6. "Nice to know" Information

~General Information~
Some Information about our envrionment:
-We use Panorama to manage our Firewalls
-We use "Active/Passive" on all "HA"-Sites

Initial Situation:
-We wanted to do a "1:1" replacement/swap,
This means we wanted to:
-Use the same "Mgmt Ips"
-Use the Same Hostname
-Use similar Interfaces
-Use the same Ruleset
-Same Objects, NAT Rules, VPNs, etc…
-We wanted to have minimal Downtime during the swap


~Our approach~
We asked ourself: "What is the best approach for a replacement like this"
We thought "If we have the whole config in place on the new device, including Ips, Interfaces, Ruleset, etc., we should be able to "Unplug" the old Devices and just have the new one "Active" running".

After defining our way to go, we started searching on "How to export Config, including Ruleset etc"
Thats where we stumbled upon the "Device State*"
-What is "Device State"?
-Device State is essentially the config, including Ruleset, thats been pushed from panorama. (The device state contains ALL information pushed from the Panorama + the "running config". NAT-Rules, Interfaces etc. will also be included in this .xml)

Once we had this information we started on the replacement (TLDR follows, to save you time in case that verison is not feasible for you)


~"How To" (TLDR)~
(TLDR) Quick Rundown:

• Export Original Device State
• Setup new Firewall (Mgmt IP and Password)
  • Export "Device State" of new Device
  • Replace "Admin"-User in "Original-Device-State" with the "Admin"-User of the "New-Device-State"
• Import Edited, Original-Device-State to new Hardware
• "Validate commit"
  • CleanUp "Commit-Errors" in imported Config
• Commit
• Finished

~How to replace a Firewall with "Device States"-Export~

1. Export Original Device State

"How to export a Device State of old Hardware?"
● Go to "Device -> Setup -> Operations -> "Export device state""
Save the Device State with a proper name, youll need it later (PA01001_OriginalHardware.tgz")

1. Setup new Firewall

You'll need to perform the initial Setup for your new Firewall. (CLI)
● Setup Password AND COMMIT
● Setup Mgmt IP (So you can access the Web-UI)
Example: set deviceconfig system ip-address 192.168.0.1 netmask 255.255.0.0

1. Export "Device State" of new Device

After successfully setting up "Mgmt-IP" and "Password" for the new Firewall, export the Device State of the new Firewall (WebUI)
● Go to "Device -> Setup -> Operations -> "Export device state""
Save the Device State with a proper name (PA01001_NewHardware.tgz")

1. Replace "Admin"-User in "PA01001_OriginalHardware.tgz" with the "Admin"-User of the "PA01001_NewHardware.tgz"

You have to replace the Adminuser, in the "PA01001_OriginalHardware.tgz" with the Adminuser, of the "PA01001_NewHardware.tgz" because passwords are hashed by the device.
!The hashed password of the "PA01001_OriginalHardware.tgz" will not work on the new device!
To replace the Admin user you have to do the following:
● Open "PA01001_OriginalHardware.tgz" and "PA01001_NewHardware.tgz" in "7zip"
● Search for "running-config.xml" in both device states and open it by hiting "Edit"
● In the "PA01001_NewHardware.tgz" Search for and copy it
Copy the whole block:

● In the "PA01001_OriginalHardware.tgz" running-config, search for and replace this user with the just copied user from above
● Save the "PA01001_OriginalHardware.tgz"

1. Import Edited, "PA01001_OriginalHardware.tgz" to new Hardware

Now, after you edited the "PA01001_OriginalHardware.tgz" to have the new user, you can start importing the device state to the new Firewall.
● Log on to WebUI of the new Firewall
● Go to "Device -> Setup -> Operations -> "Import device state""
● Select the "PA01001_OriginalHardware.tgz" file and hit "Ok"
You might have to reload the page (and maybe give yourself another IP) because the Mgmt-IP has now been swapped to the Mgmt-IP of the "PA01001_OriginalHardware.tgz"

1. "Validate commit"

Now, once youve uploaded the "PA01001_OriginalHardware.tgz" you can hit "Vallidate Commit"
During this step you might see some errors that you have to clean up in your "PA01001_OriginalHardware.tgz"
Example of errors during the Vallidate:
deviceconfig -> setting -> management -> quota-settings -> chassis-quota unexpected here
deviceconfig -> setting -> management -> quota-settings is invalid
deviceconfig -> setting -> management is invalid
deviceconfig -> setting is invalid
deviceconfig is invalid
rulebase -> security -> rules -> Block_TorAddresses -> source 'panw-torexit-ip-list' is not an allowed keyword
rulebase -> security -> rules -> Block_TorAddresses -> source panw-torexit-ip-list is an invalid ipv4/v6 address
rulebase -> security -> rules -> Block_TorAddresses -> source panw-torexit-ip-list invalid range start IP
rulebase -> security -> rules -> Block_TorAddresses -> source 'panw-torexit-ip-list' is not a valid reference
rulebase -> security -> rules -> Block_TorAddresses -> source is invalid
rulebase -> security -> rules is invalid
rulebase -> security is invalid
rulebase is invalid
vsys is invalid
devices is invalid
log-settings -> correlation unexpected here
log-settings is invalid
shared is invalid

Example on "How to clean up "chassis-quota unexpected here""
● Open "PA01001_OriginalHardware.tgz" and search for "running-config.xml"
● Search for
● Delete the whole block from the Device State:

● Save the "PA01001_OriginalHardware.tgz" again
● Upload the Updated "PA01001_OriginalHardware.tgz" and hit "Validate Commit" again.
● If there are still errors, you have to clean up those errors as well (might also be settings in "template-config.xml" for example)
● Repeat those steps until there are no errors left


7. Commit
After you cleaned up the commit errors, and "Vallidate Commit" does not display any more errors, you are ready to hit "Commit"
Once you've hit "Commit", you are done and ready to use the new Firewall

We had literally no downtime. The worst downtime with this method was 6 ping losses in our Datacenter.
It was my first replacement I've ever performed so I was kinda nervours at the beginning, but after the replacement of the first HA-Pair the way to go was pretty clear and I was calm for the following replacements.





~"Nice to know" Information~

• I disabled "ZTP" (ZeroTouchProvisioning) immediately after first boot of the new Firewall
• Remember to commit after changing the password via CLI!
• To have the smoothes transition of old hardware to new one, I recommend activating "Trial" Licenses for the new Hardware.
  • With trial licenses you are able to download content updates, EDLs, etc…
• Make sure the Interface speed of the new Hardware matches the interface speed of the old hardware
  • If Interface Speed differs, you have to swap interfaces (GUI or CLI) after successfully importing the "PA01001_OriginalHardware.tgz"
• If your setting up a new "HA-Pair" you have to export/import the HA Key of both new devices

If I'd had to replace Firewalls next week, I would use the same method. Once you get used to interpreting the Error Messages during "Validate Commit", its smooth sailing.

Scenario: you're creating a new site from scratch and want to rank highly for certain keywords that your customers will likely search for.
Instead of doing traditional keyword research, what if you just looking at sites of highly successful competitors in your geographical area (which already rank well) and use a similar keyword density but with completely different actual sentences?
For example:
Suppose you have a cake shop and the #1 organic search result uses "wedding cake" 15 times, "lemon cake" 5 times, "new york city" 7 times (etc. etc.) If you were to use a similar keyword density for those same terms but with completely different actual sentences, what would happen?
I'm guessing keyword density only makes up a small part of a site's overall score and the lack of things such as backlinks would lead to an overall much lower score, but do businesses ever use competitors' sites as a sort of keyword template, to help guide them to better SEO scores?

I'm creating a design portfolio and I've used a template. The image gallery displays in the collection page as one long row of images. Is there any way to make this line 3 images wide and infinite images long? Probably a stupid question but I can't seem to find any answers online
Edit - for further clarity, the photos are currently showing in a Block Content Section, I can adjust it to a grid but essentially I want the grid to be reactive to the amount of photos in the CMS. For example - if there are 2 photos it'll show the two at equal size on one row, for 3 photos it'll also show the three at equal size, for 4 it'll show 3 the first three photos at equal size of one row and then the fourth image on the next row etc etc

Hello everyone !
I don't know if any of you had the same thought as I did but.... man, don't those character sheets for our PCs just suck ? Especially compared to the character sheet of pre-generated character in the starter kit or what ?
Where are the colors and dynamism and fun ?!
Well, I took upon myself to create character sheet modelled after the pre-generated one and I'm giving them to you free of charge, cause I'm just that nice with a little sneak peak !
But wait, there's more ?
YES ! There is !
With my players, we weren't really satisfied with several rules of the game so we created our own homebrew rules for a couple things and due to that, I started creating original character sheet. It's still a WIP that needs to be a bit more refining regarding the overall aesthetic but all the element and composition of the sheet are already there so you can take a look. I even added the Scribus file in it if any of you want to have fun and change stuff to match your games.
As for our homebrew rules, here is what we changed :

• The Basic Technique Ready was found redundant so we completely changed it to instead allow the players to block 2 fatigues against them or a near ally, which gives them a proper defense basic technique
• Conditions now affect directly any characteristic roll instead of simply affecting the Moves and are stackable ! For example, a character with the conditions Angry has now a -1 in Creativity and Harmony instead of just Guide and Comfort and Assess a Situation. Why ? Well, those two characteristics are linked to Evade and Observe, and a character that is angry would by all logic be less able to Evade and more likely to attack. Conditions now have not only an effect outside of combat but also during exchange !
• In most era, money isn't much of an issue, but when you play in the Era of Korra, money is quite important, even if it's just to bribe someone or buy a car, so we added a "Wealth" category. It is empty, to let people decide on how they want to handle it, but we're most likely going to go with level of wealth rather than keeping track of currency
• Aside from Basic Techniques, we split the Fatigue into two : Fatigue and Chi ! Now, techniques (outside from basic) will require Chi to be used as a cost and will inflict fatigue instead having fatigue as both cost and damage. And to make it more interesting, instead of having simply 5 points of each, now Fatigue and Chi are based on your characteristics with Fatigue being equal to 4+Creativity+Focus and Chi being equal to 4 + Passion + Harmony. This will allow a bit more personalization being characters !

Of course, like I said those are homebrew, you don't have to follow them and you have access to the template file so you can change whatever you want.

So my main questions are:
1) is there a way I can copy a plugin from slot A on channel 1 to slot A across channels 2-10 for example? I know I can hold shift+option when inserting a new plugin and that’ll add it across all selected channels but due to the 2nd question below (needing to change an eq to linear mode for example) I have to create one instance, adjust whatever parameter inside and then copy them one at a time - which is long when you have a big project!
2) I like to run my kirchoff eq on linear mode, every time I open a new instance of it it defaults to Minimum - even though I have clicked “save as default” on multiple instances across various projects with the linear mode selected - is that anything to do with the template I’m using or preferences?
3) anyone else experience a bug when slicing audio, and then when I hit delete on the clips I don’t need it crashes PT?
Would really appreciate some insight! Still a noob with tools lol
