2024.05.15 13:30 LyKhra Anyone wanna talk about Scavengers/Humans?

I’m going to be very honest with you all, I am just OBSESSED with the scavengers in WOF. They have been a huge hyperfixation of mine. I searched up so many Reddit posts, WOF fandom wiki discussions, Discord messages, YouTube videos talking about scavengers, Leaf, Ivy, Wren and Sky, Dragonslayer, Flames of hope, The Dangerous gift, etc. just to suck in that scavenger content, whether it’s hatred or acceptance. Where, I kind of ran out of interesting discussions to absorb so I’ve been coming back to the same ones for a while now. So I was thinking I would make this Reddit post to perhaps garner some and talk about them myself.
Reading The Brightest Night is what really peaked my interest in them, I adored the Pest/pet/peculiar-creature dynamic they had with the dragons. I never really seen humans be depicted in this way (non-including the “How would you feel?” sentimental videos that animal rights activists would make to teach a lesson.) in fiction before. I was ecstatic about Flower and Holler and how despite not talking, they still feel like 2D characters with mysterious motivations compared to Silver the sloth or other animals. I like to imagine how I would be in the dragon world with this dynamic and when Tui announced the legends about scavengers OHH I was so hyped! Especially for Ivy and Rose, who Ivy, despite me agreeing that she is lesser quality than Wren’s chapters, was the protagonist I preferred.
I’m not against their inclusion in the Main series (anymore) but I was rubbed wrongly with how shoehorned in It was and Wren calling to change the unique dynamic they had. Plus it was a pretty huge step from having itty bitty npcs to TALKING MAJOR CHARACTERS HRAAAHHH— in the main plot, while a hive dystopia was already built up.
But then I realized, yeah it’s just the execution that rubbed me wrongly before. Their relationship with Dragons: The Idea that humans used to be dominant like us, messed with mythical beings and became like the other animals, while dragons became dominant and them slowly losing this history to time, before realizing it again, scratches my brain well and I LOVE Tui exploring that. And... to be honest, I wouldn’t mind if Tui explored it more in future books along with watching the dynamic that’s slowly changing (ok yeah maybe i’d adore that but its fine if not). And I’m sure there’s a way to implement human significance while still keeping WOF’s title as “dominant dragon narrated series”.
I do enjoy them their appearance being more of a rarity, or linked to a distinctive arc/book like Dragonslayer, as they make their moment more special to me and make the series overall feel like a Dragon series. Im sure most fans are fighting for no humans at all and to be fair, I think Tui’s most likely going to cancel any plans she has for them now. She once let Peril live because fans were begging her, I’m pretty sure Tui would do the same after most likely having her inbox spammed for 3 years straight. Gosh, waiting for the 4 arc and Dragonslayer news is so anxiety-inducing because of this.
I feel very upset and alienated when I realized the majority of the fandom shares the polar opposite feelings I have towards the humans and sometimes I feel like I’m not a true WOF fan unless I feel the same way. Especially since I’m making a story with a beloved Scavenger OC. But know most of the anti-scavengers don’t care if I like them or not (though I have seen these two comments…) and I know they have very good arguments against them in the series. This whole human hatred and not feeling like A true fan had been detrimental to my mental health. It makes me really happy when I see bigger WOFtubers like Bellasaurus really enjoy them too. I realized that on Reddit there‘s a growing number of people voicing positive opinions on scavengers, I’m finding more recent posts for their existence! Honestly… my main problem about wanting scavengers is less about getting enjoyment out of them and more about alienation.
Anyways, I have much to talk about them, about all my opinions/ideas on scavenger canon characters, OCs, Worldbuilding, plot points and Dragonslayer. I’ll probably make a video once I reboot my Youtube channel. But it won’t be for I while, plus I still need to reread the books. So in the meantime, does anyone want to engage in some (non ranting about them) scavenger discussions here?

2024.05.15 13:09 Antique-diva I'm hurting and need to go NC with my big sister

Background: (jump down to "Current story" if you like to skip this, TD;LR in the end)
My heart is aching today as I realise I need to cut off one more sister from my life. I wrote about her and my little sister in my very first post when I joined Reddit last year, so this is a bit of an update, or a continuation, as this is about my relationship with my sisters. I had planned to write much more about them last fall, just to get this heavy heart ache off my chest, but then I realised there wasn't that much to say. A lot of it had healed already.
This is especially true to my eldest sister, Anna, who I never had a warm relationship with and who I have had a cordial, distant and very LC relationship for years. Most of the things she has done to me are forgotten, and it gives me peace. We call each other maybe once or twice a year to catch up and are civil to each other. She has four kids and I have a good relationship with the two eldest who I used to babysit when I was young. So I'm happy to keep these family bonds intact.
My youngest sister, Ella, I have had a similar relationship until last year, when she got a new job and stopped calling me all together. It wasn't a disaster as I had stopped caring for her already ten years ago (see my first post on my page to know why). I don't even get an urge to call her and tell her my latest news any more, which is great. The post I wrote on Reddit last year really helped me get closure and move on in this, and I've gone almost completely NC with her afterwards. She is only a member in our large family chat, but that's all.
I ditched family Christmas at her place last year and it was such a relief to realise I wasn't obliged to go there any more. I made one more phone call to her in January this year and realised during the call that this would be my last call I ever make to her. A relief again.
Now, my sister Bertha, who showed her true nature of being an ableist ten years ago, I've had a very turbulent and passionate relationship with all my life. We have fought, we have made up, we have loved each other and we have been there for each other in the darkest moments of our lives. Well, it used to be that way, until she couldn't handle me becoming severe in my ME 10 years ago.
But we did get past that (I forgave her and never talked about it again). Now I realise, it was stupid.
The current story:
I'm writing this because I need to go NC with Bertha now, and I need help to get there. I've been carrying the secret hurt of her ableism all these years in silence, because I somehow always thought that maybe if I try really hard she'll still love me, even though she can't stand my handicap. I know I’ve been a fool, but family relationships go really deep and there are so many layers of love and hurt in them, it takes time to untangle it all.
There is this yearning in me to be accepted and loved by her, that I wish I didn't have, and it makes me want to hear her voice once in a while, which is why I get the urge to call her about every 3–6 months. I, of course, don’t talk about my illness to her any more (I learned my lesson the hard way), but there are other aspects in life to talk about. So we did. I really wished we could maintain a good enough relationship as sisters, and I have been carrying that hope for years. Yeah, I’m a fool.
Now, this spring I have some exiting things happening to me and I wanted to tell it to those who I'm used to telling good things about. This includes my best friends, my brother, and it used to include Bertha. So I tried to call her. She didn't answer. I called again a few days later, she didn't answer. All I got was a text about how busy she is with her new dream career right now and can't take the call.
Yesterday I tried a third time in the evening. We talked last time in February, so I know it's not that long ago, but I really wanted to tell her my big news. So, when she did not answer I wrote a text message asking if I had done something to her because she doesn't call me back. (She has always called me back before. If not the same day, at least during the same week). She answered with a voice mail telling me about how busy she is rn with her career and won't have time to talk until June at the earliest.
Now, I actually talked to my brother last week, and he couldn't talk because he was out eating at a restaurant with Bertha and her hubby, and he called me back later that evening. So this was of course all lies. Anyone can put a 15 minute phone call in their schedule sometime during a week. But I digress.
I got the voice mail this morning as I woke up and realised I need to stop having a relationship with Bertha all together. I need to put her in the same box where Ella sits and have her as a member of our family chat only (where I never actually write anything, I'm just a passive member there). I just wish my heart wasn't breaking at the moment over it. I wish I didn't want to tell her about my news the same way I don't want to tell Ella, or even Anna. Now, please help me get there with Bertha. How can I stop loving her and stop wanting to call her to talk to her and hear her voice? I really can't go on being an afterthought in her life any longer. I need to form a strategy to follow so I can move on and forget about her, without my heart breaking over it.
TD;LR: My big sister Bertha has had me as an afterthought in her life ever since I got severely handicapped 10 years ago due to ME. I need to cut her out of my life to stop her from hurting me over and over again, but I still foolishly love her, so I need help going NC.

2024.05.15 13:06 Snoo70100 A class situation happened during the recess (Vent, trigger feelings, please do not process to read if you're feeling triggered.)

So, during school recess at the afternoon, a person in my class who is a special needs student with mental health issues, got bullied from their peers in my class, then an unexpected thing happened. He kicked the glass door 2 times. The 3rd times, the glass shattered, and pieces of glass plus metal frame falls onto the ground. Me (which I was sleeping, didn't know what happened) and the others has a huge panic attack over a glass breaking sound fallen onto the ground. The school staff then came to the classroom to clean the messy stuff up, and people who were spectated this situation and class officers were asked to give an explanation to the supervisor about the situation. As an autistic person who has a learning disability and applied for IEP (Individualized Education Plan), I feel saddened to the person who got bullied that lead them an outburst and sometimes destroy stuffs. I did that one time at 1st grade, a person did bully me, I used a mini chalkboard to smash them onto the head. The person then got injured and sent to the hospital after my outburst. People like me are sensitive and sometimes the feelings can be fragile, when it's broke, we can't think up what's happened next if they are in a bad state of feeling. So, hope this message can somewhat be a lesson for you towards your acts, and a small care could be a happiness to both if they are feeling sad and feeling frustrated.

2024.05.15 13:02 BGodInspired Reaching the Heavens: What Can the Tower of Babel Teach Us About Unity and Ambition?

https://bgodinspired.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/1715770331.png

Introduction: Unveiling the Tower of Babel

Have you ever wondered about the origins of our diverse languages? The story of the Tower of Babel, found in Genesis 11:1-9, offers a fascinating glimpse into humanity’s history according to the Bible. This narrative not only explores the reasons behind our linguistic differences but also imparts timeless lessons on unity, ambition, and divine sovereignty. Let’s embark on an insightful journey to uncover the mysteries of the Tower of Babel and its relevance to our modern world.

Understanding the Story of the Tower of Babel

The biblical account of the Tower of Babel is set shortly after Noah’s flood. It describes how the descendants of Noah settled in the land of Shinar (Babylonia) and decided to build a city and a tower “with its top in the heavens.” Their goal was to make a name for themselves and prevent scattering across the earth. This ambition, however, was not in alignment with God’s plan for humanity to replenish and inhabit the whole earth.
God observed their project and decided to confuse their language, making them unable to understand one another. This sudden linguistic diversity caused the people to disperse into separate groups, each speaking a different language. Thus, the city was never completed, and it was called Babel, which means “confusion” in Hebrew, because there the Lord confused the language of the whole earth.

Lessons from the Tower of Babel

Applying the Tower of Babel’s Insights Today

In today’s globalized world, the Tower of Babel’s story resonates in new ways. It reminds us to cherish and respect our linguistic and cultural diversity. It also serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of unchecked ambition and the importance of aligning our goals with broader, community-centered, and divine principles. Let’s take these lessons to heart and strive for a world marked by understanding, cooperation, and respect for God’s sovereign will.

Conclusion: Embracing the Message of the Tower of Babel

The Tower of Babel story is more than an ancient narrative; it’s a source of wisdom and insight for today’s complex, interconnected world. By reflecting on its lessons, we can learn to value diversity, be wary of pride, and acknowledge our limitations while recognizing the importance of pursuing goals in harmony with divine guidance.
Have you experienced the beauty of diverse languages and cultures in your own life? How can we apply the lessons of the Tower of Babel to promote understanding and unity in our communities today? Share your thoughts and insights, and let’s continue to learn from each other and the timeless wisdom of the Bible.

2024.05.15 12:22 Nearby-Chemical2039 Reviews after trial lessons.

I really wish students could only leave a review after a couple of lessons because after a trial isn't fair because mostly an introduction and also planning out how our regular lessons are going to be, showing them the platform e.t.c, this is what I told the student but I'm guessing she was expecting me to teach her still even after I told her the main purpose of the trial lesson. Also Preply takes full commission on top of that, it's so disheartening. You can't leave a review when you haven't gotten the full experience yet, I know everyone is entitled to their own opinions but I've been a tutor on preply for months and I've neve gotten a bad review from my regular students so getting a review from someone I spoke to during a 30min trial lesson is not ok, it completely ruined my whole profile from 5 stars to 4 stars just based on 30min lesson I had with a new student. I already sent a message to the student literally begging her to remove the review, I don't know what else I can but I really wish people could only leave reviews at least after 5 lessons 😞

2024.05.15 10:59 Alliejam1 ACIM WORKBOOK LESSON 136

LESSON 136. Sickness is a defense against the truth.
No one can heal unless he understands what purpose sickness seems to serve. For then he understands as well its purpose has no meaning. Being causeless and without a meaningful intent of any kind, it cannot be at all. When this is seen, healing is automatic. It dispels this meaningless illusion by the same approach that carries all of them to truth, and merely leaves them there to disappear.
Sickness is not an accident. Like all defenses, it is an insane device for self-deception. And like all the rest, its purpose is to hide reality, attack it, change it, render it inept, distort it, twist it, or reduce it to a little pile of unassembled parts. The aim of all defenses is to keep the truth from being whole. The parts are seen as if each one were whole within itself.
Defenses are not unintentional, nor are they made without awareness. They are secret, magic wands you wave when truth appears to threaten what you would believe. They seem to be unconscious but because of the rapidity with which you choose to use them. In that second, even less, in which the choice is made, you recognize exactly what you would attempt to do, and then proceed to think that it is done.
Who but yourself evaluates a threat, decides escape is necessary, and sets up a series of defenses to reduce the threat that has been judged as real? All this cannot be done unconsciously. But afterwards, your plan requires that you must forget you made it, so it seems to be external to your own intent; a happening beyond your state of mind, an outcome with a real effect on you, instead of one effected by yourself.
It is this quick forgetting of the part you play in making your “reality” that makes defenses seem to be beyond your own control. But what you have forgot can be remembered, given willingness to reconsider the decision which is doubly shielded by oblivion. Your not remembering is but the sign that this decision still remains in force, as far as your desires are concerned. Mistake not this for fact. Defenses must make facts unrecognizable. They aim at doing this, and it is this they do.
Every defense takes fragments of the whole, assembles them without regard to all their true relationships, and thus constructs illusions of a whole that is not there. It is this process that imposes threat, and not whatever outcome may result. When parts are wrested from the whole and seen as separate and wholes within themselves, they become symbols standing for attack upon the whole; successful in effect, and never to be seen as whole again. And yet you have forgotten that they stand but for your own decision of what should be real, to take the place of what is real.
Sickness is a decision. It is not a thing that happens to you, quite unsought, which makes you weak and brings you suffering. It is a choice you make, a plan you lay, when for an instant truth arises in your own deluded mind, and all your world appears to totter and prepare to fall. Now are you sick, that truth may go away and threaten your establishments no more.
How do you think that sickness can succeed in shielding you from truth? Because it proves the body is not separate from you, and so you must be separate from the truth. You suffer pain because the body does, and in this pain are you made one with it. Thus is your “true” identity preserved, and the strange, haunting thought that you might be something beyond this little pile of dust silenced and stilled. For see, this dust can make you suffer, twist your limbs and stop your heart, commanding you to die and cease to be.
Thus is the body stronger than the truth, which asks you live, but cannot overcome your choice to die. And so the body is more powerful than everlasting life, Heaven more frail than hell, and God’s design for the salvation of His Son opposed by a decision stronger than His Will. His Son is dust, the Father incomplete, and chaos sits in triumph on His throne.
Such is your planning for your own defense. And you believe that Heaven quails before such mad attacks as these, with God made blind by your illusions, truth turned into lies, and all the universe made slave to laws which your defenses would impose on it. Yet who believes illusions but the one who made them up? Who else can see them and react to them as if they were the truth?
God knows not of your plans to change His Will. The universe remains unheeding of the laws by which you thought to govern it. And Heaven has not bowed to hell, nor life to death. You can but choose to think you die, or suffer sickness or distort the truth in any way. What is created is apart from all of this. Defenses are plans to defeat what cannot be attacked. What is unalterable cannot change. And what is wholly sinless cannot sin.
Such is the simple truth. It does not make appeal to might nor triumph. It does not command obedience, nor seek to prove how pitiful and futile your attempts to plan defenses that would alter it. Truth merely wants to give you happiness, for such its purpose is. Perhaps it sighs a little when you throw away its gifts, and yet it knows, with perfect certainty, that what God wills for you must be received.
It is this fact that demonstrates that time is an illusion. For time lets you think what God has given you is not the truth right now, as it must be. The Thoughts of God are quite apart from time. For time is but another meaningless defense you made against the truth. Yet what He wills is here, and you remain as He created you.
Truth has a power far beyond defense, for no illusions can remain where truth has been allowed to enter. And it comes to any mind that would lay down its arms, and cease to play with folly. It is found at any time; today, if you will choose to practice giving welcome to the truth.
This is our aim today. And we will give a quarter of an hour twice to ask the truth to come to us and set us free. And truth will come, for it has never been apart from us. It merely waits for just this invitation which we give today. We introduce it with a healing prayer, to help us rise above defensiveness, and let truth be as it has always been:
Sickness is a defense against the truth. I will accept the truth of what I am, and let my mind be wholly healed today.
Healing will flash across your open mind, as peace and truth arise to take the place of war and vain imaginings. There will be no dark corners sickness can conceal, and keep defended from the light of truth. There will be no dim figures from your dreams, nor their obscure and meaningless pursuits with double purposes insanely sought, remaining in your mind. It will be healed of all the sickly wishes that it tried to authorize the body to obey.
Now is the body healed, because the source of sickness has been opened to relief. And you will recognize you practiced well by this: The body should not feel at all. If you have been successful, there will be no sense of feeling ill or feeling well, of pain or pleasure. No response at all is in the mind to what the body does. Its usefulness remains and nothing more.
Perhaps you do not realize that this removes the limits you had placed upon the body by the purposes you gave to it. As these are laid aside, the strength the body has will always be enough to serve all truly useful purposes. The body’s health is fully guaranteed, because it is not limited by time, by weather or fatigue, by food and drink, or any laws you made it serve before. You need do nothing now to make it well, for sickness has become impossible.
Yet this protection needs to be preserved by careful watching. If you let your mind harbor attack thoughts, yield to judgment or make plans against uncertainties to come, you have again misplaced yourself, and made a bodily identity which will attack the body, for the mind is sick.
Give instant remedy, should this occur, by not allowing your defensiveness to hurt you longer. Do not be confused about what must be healed, but tell yourself:
I have forgotten what I really am, for I mistook my body for myself. Sickness is a defense against the truth. But I am not a body. And my mind cannot attack. So I can not be sick.

2024.05.15 10:56 Merean_Cartographer Star fever - part 1

Year 14825 of the Andarian Unified Calender
Bolivan 5 - Central council HQ
“I know that most of you have a profound understanding of how our galactic community is connected and works. But for any new council members, I will quickly go over it all again.” High speaker Efrond spoke gently, their voice carried to every individual council member over the Central Computing Network. The CCN also translated his speech into whatever language, dialect or preferred medium of each individual. Song for one, gestures for another. All within the abilities of the CCN.
“Over 15000 years ago, the Andarians were the first species to leave their home planet and explore space. At a remarkable pace, they explored and colonized their home system. The Andarians are highly intelligent, industrious and iron - willed. One of the reasons that we still use their unified calendar, after their demise.” Efrond spoke with admiration. All species admired the Andarians, and it had been a great loss when their entire species fell to sickness.
“Not long after that, they longed for more, and so they sent out ships to their neighbour stars. This made the Andarians the first species to learn about the most sinister force of nature that any has ever encountered. They called it the wasting sickness, we now call it star fever. They, like many of us, lost hundreds of thousands to it. If not more. Before their interstellar dream was finally crushed. With an increased focus on their system, they recognized the Stepping Stone in their system for what it truly was. They spent several decades repairing it, theirs was a heavily damaged one, and that set them off on their true interstellar journey.”
Efrond paused, most council members here would know their own species history very well. And it would have been a similar tale to that of the Andarians.
“They were the first to find Bolivan 5, and when they found other species, they founded the Central council here as well. They were a paragon of peace and virtue, and we still owe them a great debt to this day. Sadly, neither them nor any of us have ever been able to find a cure for star fever. But with the mapped out lanes of the Stepping Stones that we have today, we can hardly say that we are missing out. We have safe travel between the stars, always protected by a mother's skirt, wherever we go.”
Efrond knew that the idea of a mother's skirt existed in all species and that CCN would translate it accordingly. A star protected its contents. By design or not, it was what allowed life to exist in the first place. Else, the star fever would strike on planets just as well as in deep space.
“Enough with the history lesson, Efrond. Why are we here!” Demanded a council member. Efrond recognized them as Abasaval. Their species was one of the more hot headed. Always quick to be angered.
“Aye, on an emergency no less!' Another quipped. “I hate using the Stones in such quick succession. And using the Central Rosetta makes me sick to the core every time as well.”
Another common occurrence. Travel by Stepping Stones was rough on one's senses. The central Rosetta was a special variant, able to connect to any stone, anywhere, while traditionally stones connected in a one-to-one fashion. It was even rougher on the senses, though.
“Calm yourselves,” Efrond spoke again. “We just received a communication from the souther rim of our known space. The message is about two months old. It starts with a routine mission to analyse a passing interstellar object.”
“Don't tell me we are here for an asteroid!” Abasaval quipped. Efrond ignored him and continued.
“But as the object passed through the system, which is a dead-end lane, they saw the object make minute adjustments to its trajectory, using the star itself for doing so and then left in another direction. It was noted to not travel at the speed of light, but very close to it. It showed clear signs of intelligent life.”
The council was suddenly abuzz with sound. A cacophony, loud and chaotic.
“Impossible!”
“Life that can survive the star fever?”
“Perhaps the vessel was automated and nothing more than a travelling coffin!”
Efrond calmed the council again. “While the passing was very short-lived, the analysts were able to get some scans from the object, there is evidence of possible life forms inside of it. But it left too soon to confirm it. In any case, this is enough evidence for an emergency meeting. I have made a proposal to set up a task force. To try to intercept with this object, we know what system it will have to pass by next after all, and we do have a lane to it. And to find out more about them. If there is a species out there with a cure to the star sickness, we need to get in touch with them. Our entire community is based on the premise of how we navigate the stars. Introducing a player who does not have to abide by those rules… I do not have to spell it out for you. This could have disastrous outcomes.”
The council dismissed soon after, the proposal unanimously approved. Although Efrond saw different reactions to the news. Some were hopeful, not all species had gained good territory and the lanes were limiting to them. Some were angered or worried, as they gained a lot from the current system. Abasaval seemed to have been eager, probably thinking about war. Their species lived for combat and their culture revolved around it. There would be a lot of work ahead of Efrond.
2600 AD
Earth - Terran central Atlatl command
“We have a message from Spear 5, sir” The comms officer spoke up suddenly, surprising Kurt.
“Let's hear it then.” Kurt said, looking up from his screen, filled with anything but work.
As an Atlatl commanding officer, his station was not a glorious one. One of the three captains that rotated in manning the comms station. Waiting for messages send back from any of the Spears. If they did get a message, it was usually to notify the successful deployment of a Deep Comms Sat. The DCS was meant to become a vast network, capable of sending messages from star to star, which would allow humanity to effectually communicate at incredible speeds, across the vastness of space. But step one was deploying them as the Spears explored nearby systems. After that, they all had to spend several years passing around information that would allow them to configure themselves into the formation, and then it would be functional. The estimated time of completion for a fully working DCS web was several decades. But each DCS chain that one of the Spears left behind worked, albeit in a less efficient way than once the whole system would be functional.
“Yes, Spear 5 seems to have encountered an anomaly in the Albert system. They were travelling at full speed as they are on their way back to get a DCS resupply. They think they might have come across intelligent life. There were some activity spikes that seemed like something was trying to either contact them or scan them. They are now in deep space, so their next reply will take a while.”
“Tell them to send over their reports, over DCS web. Meanwhile, send a copy of their data over to the other departments and have our analysts go over it as well.” Kurt stood up now, this was potentially big. Maybe big enough to get him out of his current post. But only if this was actual alien life. Better to play by the book until there was certainty.
“Send a copy to my terminal as well, I will be going over it personally too. Plan a meeting with the other two captains. I need to brief them on this and make sure we are ready.”
“Aye. Ready for what, sir?” The comms officered looked worried.
“Anything.”
Nobody is allowed to use this, or any of my other stories, for narrations. Nobody is allowed to monetize them in any way or form. Nobody is allowed to pretend my work is their own.

2024.05.15 10:35 BiggestNutsinTexas First positive UA in 5 years

Hello all, I just wanted to share my story of how I fucked up recently. I'm on deferred adjudication (TX) and I've served 5 years and 7 months out of 7 years. I just filed for early termination and I made the stupid decision to drink shortly after the motion was filed. The next day they called me in for a surprise UA, triggered by the early termination request. I failed. I didn't think they tested for alcohol but I found out the hard way. Luckily I was honest with my PO and I told her I drank last night. The good news is that this is my very first violation so they won't be putting in a motion to revoke. The bad news is that early termination is most likely not happening anymore. My lawyer did say we can hold off on it for a bit so my new plan is to get 6 months to a year under my belt to show the courts I can stay clean. I'm not hopeful but I'll try anyway. If it doesn't happen I'll only have a few months left before I'm off. I've worked too hard to mess up now so I'm 100% clean from here on out. Let this be a lesson to everyone, especially if you're filing for early termination. Stay strong out there, you can do it!!

2024.05.15 10:07 NKsAMCmonologue Do I need to enroll in an AI at my home institution if the clerkship director doesn't like me? (how screwed am I?)

As the title states for the gist of my question. I am a USMD student interested primarily in EM who will have to start thinking about sub-I/AI applications soon. Long story short, I misread a situation as a young medical student while shadowing an attending (who is the clerkship director at my school and I didn't know at the time). We had bonded and shared a lot of personal stuff about our lives during the shift, and amidst shooting the shit (that the attending initiated), I accidentally made a joke that offended the attending. I am not providing specific details just to preserve anonymity.
It wasn't something racist/sexist/homophobic/horrible or anything of that nature, but basically it was a joke regarding an identity/label from a community that we are both a part of and it inadvertently offended them. I could tell the joke didn't land from their immediate response, but I didn't think too much of it at the time, because the attending still interacted with me about the same for the remainder of the shift and was like "come back any time," at the end of the shift.
It wasn't until several months after when I noticed that my emails sent to this attending were ghosted. Additionally, I ran into the attending at a few workshops after the incident and they completely iced me out, a complete 180 degree turn from how we interacted months prior. They would still teach me just like any other student, but it was clear that they wanted to minimize any interaction outside of teaching. It was only after the first workshop that I saw the attending in person again did I realize that I definitely royally fucked up and pissed them off. At this point, the initial incident happened so many months ago and I saw the attending so inconsistently that I didn't know how to even bring the situation up to potentially apologize.
Since then, my situation with the attending has pretty much remained the same. I have had horrible guilt and anxiety regarding this whole debacle. It was truly a life lesson for me to never get too comfortable in a work/clinical setting. I've talked to many close friends and even my therapist about the situation, and they all seem to mostly say that I am overreacting regarding the situation, that it will be fine, don't lose sleep over this (too late) etc. Despite all of this, I can't seem to shake my guilt and anxiety regarding what happened. I know that I am a charismatic and nice/normal person, and it just feels horrible to offend someone AND fuck up a professional relationship because of this mistake.
So all of this to say, I am stuck on whether or not I should enroll in the AI at my home institution in fear of retaliation on my SLOE. I know that all the attendings help write the SLOE, but the clerkship director is the one that actually assembles it. I now know that even mediocre SLOEs will really hurt an app, which is where my anxiety stems from. I have been told that it would look bad/raise questions for me to not do an AI at my home institution since we have a residency program. I plan on doing at least 1 more AI outside my home institution, regardless on my decision.
I know that I will work my ass off during AI season, but I am just worried that a stupid mistake from early on will screw me over. What would you all recommend that I do? To everyone that made it this far, thank you so much for reading and your time :)

2024.05.15 09:59 Cupcake112014 Analyzing 2000s Strawberry Shortcake: Strawberry Shortcake's Get Well Adventure

I got a bit busy with life, so this is a bit later than usual. As usual, spoilers are ahead, so read at your own risk.
We're finally at the last episode of season 1. I'll admit that it's my least favorite. The animation and audio are rough, the pacing is slow, and generally, the show was still trying to figure out what it wants to be. I will say, that this episode is my favorite of season 1. Anyways, we open with Strawberry leading us to Honey Pie's going away party. She's hyping up her vacation plans, eating all the treats the humans made her, and promising to bring marshmallows for everyone. Then we get the song where she continues hyping up her plans. I love how passive aggressive the song gets as it goes. They're obviously fed up with Honey and want her to get going. But then, as soon as she leaves, she injures her leg and can't go on her trip. She's forced to stay on Strawberry's couch. Honey is an absolute drama queen. Strawberry and crew try to take good care of her, but Honey is constantly complaining. Strawberry calls her out, but that doesn’t really stop her. Her friends threaten to leave, but then Strawberry has an idea that they need to entertain Honey, and that she's only complaining bc she's bored. (Side note: Strawberry is reeeeallly patient here. I'm not sure most people would be this patient, but then again, Strawberry is not like most people). Then Huck remembers there's a magician performing nearby, and he gets the idea to catch him. My headcanon is that he was mainly using the magician as an excuse to leave. Then, we get the musical number about imagination, which is cute. After that, the girls brainstorm activities, but Honey shoots them all down. Meanwhile, Huck falls off his skateboard en route to find the magician (which, side note: in real life, that fall would have hurt really bad). Honey reminisces on times she was bored, which are stories she's told the humans a million times. That gives Strawberry an idea to tell stories. Strawberry tells her story about ending a drought by getting a cloud to cry tears of joy, featuring a gopher with a weird voice and a bird that sounds like Rainbow Sherbet (same voice actress?). When I first rewatched that scene with the cloud, it unlocked that core memory of watching this episode as a little girl. Also, that magic creek where you can wish for different beverages would be so epic to have in real life. Anyways, after that, we go into the third musical number, which is an earworm. Honey admits that she knocked puppet shows until she tried them, and so Orange does one about a dream she had. Then we cut to Huck in the city trying to find the magician, but a gingerbread man breaks the news that he was too late. Then, Huck sees the box of magic supplies. After that, we're back at Strawberry's house, and Orange just finished her puppet show. Similar to the pilot, her time to shine gets cut tragically short, since we don't get the rest of her story. Anyway, Ginger tells the story of when she ran out of chocolate chips. We find out that she is an emotional eater (relatable, lmao), when a chocolate bunny told her not to eat the furniture. Then, said bunny leads her to a pot of chocolate coins at the end of a rainbow. Since Ginger didn't know about this pot of gold, I have to wonder, how did she acquire chocolate chips before? Then, Angel Cake tells the story of how she improvised when she ran out of food coloring. At first she tried to pick rose petals, blueberries, and grass to dye her white icing (which would be considered unsanitary in the real world), but the texture is all wrong. Then, she finds Spongecake forest, and now that's where she gets her food coloring. This story has a similar vibe to Ginger's where she's run out of an ingredient, but Angel's story doesn't have the plothole that Ginger's had. I got the sense that Angel didn't have time to go acquire food coloring the way she normally does, and that's why she went exploring, as opposed to Ginger, who made a false assumption about where she could find what she was looking for. Anyway, Apple is insistent on hearing more stories (so that she doesn't have to go to bed), and so Honey tells one of her own. Then Strawberry checks outside (maybe she had a strange feeling?), and finds Huck practicing tricks in the bushes. He comes clean that he couldn't get the magician, and Strawberry reassures him. I feel like this is one of those scenes that Struckleberry shippers point to, since they're alone and it is a sweet moment. I'm not the biggest Struckleberry shipper. Aside from the fact that they are kids, I don't like the idea that the token boy just ends up with the leading lady. If I were to ship him with anyone, it would be Orange, since I've seen some moments between them in multiple episodes. Anyway, enough about ships, Huck attempts a card trick, but fails. At the girls' insistence, he tries another trick. He asks if anyone has a hat, to which Orange hands him the magician hat (ironic considering every human except Orange was wearing a hat). The trick is successful. Soon after, Honey realizes that her leg is better. The next day, she leaves for her trip, but it turns out, she's sick and can't go. This time, she's more accepting of her reality, since she's learned to look on the bright side, just like Strawberry was telling her earlier. Then we get the last song, which sums up the lesson that Honey has learned. As I said, this is my favorite season 1 episode. It still has some of the issues that season 1 eps have, but it has a lot of good qualities too.

Chapter 2 - Scouting and Selection
On the ships, the vikings had reached the foggy place they went to before, in the previously failed attempt to take the nest the previous time. And while Stoick looked out on the blinded horizon, he would call out orders until he was approached by another viking.
Phlegma: “Erm, Stoick?”
Stoick: “What is it Phlegma?…”
Phlegma: “Is everything alright?… You’ve had your nose incredibly out of joint after what Hiccup revealed and now this?… Is there any reason to it at all?”
Stoick: “The plan is simple Phlegma… Find the nest, destroy it and kill the dragons off…”
Phlegma: “I know but why attack now? It doesn’t seem… You know… Quite as planned out as the last few times we did this…”
Stoick: “Why are you questioning me about this?”
Phlegma: “You’ve hardly said a word besides barking orders at us, even Spitelout is getting concerned…”
He just ignores her, and continues to stare out into the fog.
Phlegma: “Did something else happen with Hiccup?…”
Stoick: “Don’t ever mention his name again…”
Phlegma: “What? Why?…”
Stoick: “He’s nothing to do with me anymore…”
Another viking on his ship who hears this, then approaches Stoick with a question.
Hoark: “Stoick?… Did you disown your boy?… Over this?…”
Stoick: “Well I’m not holding a banner about it but yes… He sided with the dragons and now my credibility here is just about ruined…”
Spitelout: “Well good riddance I say, that kid’s been nothing but trouble, I just hope he hasn’t influenced my boy-o to do something similar.”
Phlegma: “Hey! Don’t you start Spitelout, or I’ll toss you overboard!”
Stoick: “Everyone shut up! This isn’t helping… Just get back to the search.”
He barked out as everyone with disapproving, tense or frightened looks continue to manage their posts. Avoiding sea stacks, and keeping an eye out for any dragons that would try to approach.
Meanwhile back on Berk, Hiccup and Astrid reach the arena, eyeing off a cage thinking about the dragon that would suit her best, as well as trying to look for Toothless.
Astrid: “This is… Definitely crazy…”
Hiccup: “Like I said earlier Astrid, crazy is what we do best here.”
They then hears footsteps approaching, which Hiccup didn’t anticipate since everyone else had left the island. After a few seconds they stop, and as they turn around to look who it was, they see the other four dragon training students. One of them, Fishlegs, then starts to speak.
Fishlegs: “If you’re planning on getting eaten, I’d definitely go with the Gronckle."
Astrid: “What are you guys doing here? And why would you say something like that Fishlegs?”
Fishlegs: “Sorry… Group anger makes me nervous and I’m just trying to fit in with it…”
Hiccup: “Save your breath… It’s not like you’ll be using it much to curse me out anyway…”
Snotlout: “What even are you planning?”
Hiccup: “Self imposed exile… It’s better off this way given the circumstances, and don’t you guys try and talk me out of it… There’s nothing left for me here on Berk, I’m essentially just another mouth to feed and I’ve just eaten my last morsel…”
Fishlegs: “Hiccup, I know what I said earlier may have come off as harsh, but we’re not here to ridicule you.”
Hiccup: “You aren’t?”
Tuffnut: “We aren’t?”
Fishlegs: “Of course not guys, we talked about this earlier?”
Ruffnut: “Oh right, we just tune out a lot of the time.”
Snotlout: “Ugh… You two…”
Fishlegs: “Anyway we’re here because we want to come with you both.”
Hiccup: “Wait, what!?”
Astrid: “And how do you know I’m going with him?”
She asks in shock, as Snotlout then points to her basket of assorted items.
Snotlout: “We figured it out as soon as you ran out of the house with that basket.”
Fishlegs: “And after what we saw you attempt to do today, we connected the dots with the previous lessons we all had.”
Hiccup: So… You knew?…”
Fishlegs: “Yes.”
Hiccup: “And you’re not upset at this? You don’t think I’m a traitor?”
Fishlegs: “Absolutely not.”
Snotlout: “Not really.”
Ruffnut: “I’m actually very impressed by this.”
Tuffnut: “I’m still slightly confused but it seems everyone’s in agreement with you here so, I’m with you little dude.”
Hiccup: “Guys… I- I don’t know what to say…”
Astrid: “Well you can start with what your plan is for us to leave here.”
Hiccup: “Good point, but what I need to do first is find Toothless.”
After he explains this, he hears Toothless’s trademark roar in a cage next to the Gronckle’s, and saw a flash of purple underneath the door. Deducing his best friend was locked up in there, he approaches the cage, opens the door and in a flash ends up on the floor with the Night Fury licking his face.
Hiccup: “Aaahhhh! Agh, hey, I’m glad to see you too bud! It’ll be okay now that you’re out of there.”
Toothless ends his lick barrage and lets out a purr, before seeing Astrid, and smiling at her. Eventually turning to the rest of the teenagers with a snarl, and charging up a fireball until Hiccup intervenes.
Hiccup: Whoa, whoa, Toothless, Stand down! They’re not going to hurt you.
The dragon then lets the fireball dissipate in his mouth, after letting out a cough and continues to stare at them.
Fishlegs: “Oooh! A Night Fury! I never dreamed I’d see one in the flesh!”
Tuffnut: “Um… What happened to his tail?”
Hiccup: “Oh, er… Well you guys remember when I said to my father that I shot down a Night Fury and none of call believed me?…”
They all nod with scattered ‘yes’s and ‘uh-huh’s after he asks this.
Hiccup: “Well that was the result of it…”
Fishlegs: “And did you make that artificial one for him?”
Hiccup: “Yes, because otherwise he wouldn’t be able to fly.”
Snotlout: "Oh great, not just great, perfect even. The dragon lover has hurt one of his closest friends.”
Astrid: “This was before he and Toothless became friends”
Tuffnut: “Why does he call him Toothless? All dragons have sharp teeth.”
Hiccup: “Show ‘em bud.”
Toothless then demonstrates to them all his retractable teeth, forcing them into his jaw and allowing the group to admire it for a while, before unsheathing them again.
Hiccup: “That is why.”
Ruffnut: “That’s incredible! I’m very impressed Hiccup~”
She responds in a strangely flirty tone, causing Hiccup to become nervous and Astrid to stare her down.
Fishlegs: “So… Um… How do we get our own dragons?”
Hiccup: “I’ll show you, just do as I tell you, and you could very well make a fire-breathing friend for life.”
He begins to explain with a more confident smile, as he approaches the Deadly Nadder’s cage, and opens it.
Back with the boats, Stoick’s crew ends up becoming more despondent as after a considerable amount of time they still don’t end up closer to the nest. Assuming they merely went in circles, he then orders the ships to split up and take other paths, causing more confusion in the soldiers.
Stoick: “I don’t care if you don’t like it, I’m the chief, and my way goes!”
Spitelout: “Stoick, we’ve done this once before and we never return with a full crew afterwards!”
Stoick: “Oh would you like to be running this particular mission?”
Spitelout: “I’m just pointing out that maybe-”
Stoick: “Well you’ll have time to point things out when we get there, now keep your positions!”
He goes back to eyeing out the fog, while Spitelout angrily informs the rowers to keep moving, and orders two ships to split from the main group and row further to the starboard side.
Back at the arena, and Hiccup gently coaxes the last dragon to exit his cage, the Monstrous Nightmare.
Hiccup: “It’s okay… We’ve done this once before big guy.”
He leads him further out into the arena. Even though the teens had already seen him doing this with the Gronckle, the Zippleback and the Nadder, they still watch on in awe. Hiccup, then having lead the Monstrous Nightmare out, then leads him to Snotlout.
Snotlout: “Wait! What are you-!?”
Hiccup: “Whoa, just relax… It’s okay, It’s okay.”
He replies to both Snotlout and the dragon, as he grabs Snotlout’s hand. Putting it gently on the Monstrous Nightmare’s nose, causing the dragon to purr, and Snotlout to have a small giggle in disbelief.
Snotlout: “Okay, this is amazing! Hey, where are you going Hiccup?”
Hiccup: “Well, you’re all going to need something to help you hold on for a while, because we’re going to be riding these guys, to find ourselves a new home. Now there has to be some rope in here somewhere…”
He begins to look through the munitions trough, then hearing a voice by the gate calling out to them all.
Gobber: “Actually Hiccup, you could make them their own saddles, you have the time after all.”
Hiccup: “Gobber? How did you know about that? And why are you not with the rest of the village?”
Gobber: “I heard there was a slight tiff between you and your father, and wanted to at least try and help you out.”
Hiccup: “Well that’s an understatement… As far as he’s concerned he’s not even my father anymore…”
Gobber: “So I heard, and that was wrong, so I didn’t join him on his insanely deadly mission. What I will do though is help you kids out, so what can I start with?”
Hiccup: “Well if you insist Gobber, and we’re going to need measurements for everybody and their new dragons. Just to make sure we have enough material to make the saddles, and ensure they don’t come off while we’re flying.”
Gobber: “Righty-ho, I’ll see if I can find the tape measure!”
He replies with determination, as he and Hiccup rush off to the smithy to get the saddles ready, while the rest of the teens acquaint themselves with their new dragons.
Tuffnut: “I still don’t get why we have to share one…”
Astrid: “Because all the other dragons have been taken by the rest of us.”
Fishlegs: “Plus, among certain disciplines you guys work far better together, instead of apart.”
Ruffnut: “No denying that!~”
Fishlegs: “The Zippleback is much the same way, and with you guys sharing him, it would be far easier for things like rescue missions, search and seize-”
Tuffnut: “Ultimate destruction?”
Fishlegs: “What!? No!-”
Snotlout: “Leave it Fishface, they’re already engrained in it…”
An exasperated sigh escapes Fishlegs’s mouth, as he, Snotlout and Astrid are forced to watch this spectacle go on. Hiccup meanwhile, ends up having another heart-to-heart with Gobber.
Gobber: “So how long has this thing with dragons been going on?”
Hiccup: “Er… Sort of on and off since the early morning, raid months ago.”
Gobber: “When you said you hit a Night Fury?”
Hiccup: Yeah… Anyway it turned out you and everyone else were right… I’m not a dragon killer… Not even a proper viking in their eyes… But what I became, was something more valuable. A dragon trainer.”
Gobber: “Dragon trainer?”
Hiccup: “Understanding their ins and outs, gaining trust with tossing away weapons and feeding them fish, and in Toothless’s case, helping him regain his ability to fly.”
Gobber: “That’s quite the achievement.”
Hiccup: “Heh, you must be the only adult here that thinks that… Everyone else had kind of deemed me as an outcast… No one looks in my direction just like they used to before all this, and now even my dad doesn’t want a bar of me…”
Gobber: “Hiccup… I know you’re going through a rough time at the moment, but is this really the way to go?… You’ve got an entire lifetime laid out ahead of you lad. And I-”
Hiccup: “What life?… It honestly feels like I’m no longer welcome here by anyone, especially my own father… I’ve mentioned to you before that he doesn’t listen to me… I just wish for once he would realise that I could have valuable insight into all this stuff about Berk, vikings and the dragons, but he’s just too… Stubborn and set in his ways…”
Hearing this soliloquy, Gobber simply sighs and puts his hand on Hiccup’s shoulder.
Gobber: “I’m sure things will turn around for you soon Hiccup… In the meantime at least you’ll have your friends around you… Speaking of which, we should make a start on their saddles, shouldn’t we?”
Hiccup: “Yep, you’re right Gobber, now let’s get that forge lit-”
Not realising Toothless had followed them there, he lets out a plasma blast reigniting the coals. Giving Gobber a surprised gasp, but Hiccup looks over at the both of them with confusing before turning into amusement.
Hiccup: “Just so you know Toothless, you didn’t have to do that, because you’re not a tool, but thanks.”
He replies to his best bud as he sets some old discarded metal on top of the hot coals, and begins pressing on the bellows. After some time, they arrive back at the arena with the finished saddles. And after putting them onto the dragons, get ready to set off.
Hiccup: “Well I guess this is it Gobber, I’ll make sure to write every so often.”
Gobber: “Och, I have faith in ye, lad. Don’t ye worry”
Snotlout: “Yeah, but it’s going to be ages before the mail arrives at either location.”
Hiccup: “But it won’t have to”
He replies to Snotlout with a grin, as he unleashes another secret weapon, in the form of a Terrible Terror with a cylindrical container loosely tied around his neck.
Snotlout: “Whoa!”
Tuffnut: “What the-?”
Fishlegs: “Wow.”
Hiccup: “Gang, this here is Messenger. He’s going to be part of our new mail delivery service, or Terror mail as I like to call it”
Gobber: “Terror Mail?”
Hiccup: “Yep, this little tube around his neck, will be used to store telegrams and all sorts of written documents, and transport them to the recipient carefully without getting dropped, drenched, or torched”
Astrid: “And what if Stoick were to see him arriving on or leaving Berk?”
Hiccup: “Honestly, I can’t even try think about it… But that’s why Gobber when he arrives with anything, you are to keep him in the shop, hidden up in the back corners so no-one discovers him.”
Gobber: “Er… Righty-ho, I’ll do my best…”
Hiccup: “Good, ready to fly gang?”
Teens: “Yes!”
Hiccup: “Alright, now hold tight.”
He informs them as he sets his leg into Toothless’s mechanical stirrups.
Hiccup: “Let’s go bud.”
With a mighty roar, Toothless rushes upwards into the air, the rest of the teens follow suit. Astrid taking the position directly behind Toothless and Hiccup, Snotlout close behind them, the twins slightly lagging due to another argument, and Fishlegs pulling up the rear with his Gronckle. Gobber watches them fly off, giving them a send off wave as he heads back to the blacksmith stall.
And that's the last teaser I put out, the rest will be on Wattpad

2024.05.15 08:53 Ojasumin TCJ Japanese language school experience

I am planning to go to language school this year for 6 months or a year.
I found TCJ Tokyo Central Japanese language school in Tokyo and it looks really nice.
Did anybody here take lessons at this school and could tell me how it was like?
How are the lessons, materials, facilities and teachers? I am currently around N3 level but want to be at N2 level after a year of full-time Japanese lessons if possible.
I am already living in Japan with a spouse visa so I don’t need a student visa.

2024.05.15 08:37 Kushu23 Am I learning to drive the wrong way?

I have been going on small driving lessons after 10PM with my dad since June of 2023. However I was preparing for my college entrance exams (JEE) so I have only been to 6 lessons, 1 hour each, with my father.
I have only practiced on our old 2008 Hyundai i10 and while I have managed to learn how to drive smoothly (rarely a few stalls which happen while I'm moving at 3km/h) and we have been practicing in a small road where at night there are other people also learning at night but its mostly empty.
So my father took me on the main road for the first time a few days back on my 6th lesson, but when I was making a U turn and while the car was slanted I could see the cars behind in the rear view and middle mirror, and ended up panicking and stalling the car in the middle of the road. Obviously my father got furious and started shouting that I should have looked in the mirrors, but I couldn't while the car was in the middle of the turn.
I would like to mention that my father is not a bad teacher, he has always been patient with me when we were on the empty road and has guided me, and I understand why he got mad there. I'm not blaming him.
However my friend told me that in just one day of practice, he was able to drive on the main road. I was confused and wonder what I have been doing wrong.
Yes, my original plan was to learn from driving school after learning the basics from my dad, but my college classes start way earlier than anticipated, one day before my 18th birthday, so driving school is a no go.
If someone could tell me what I can do better to better understand roadsense, and how to learn driving more effectively, that would be appreciated.
P.S.- I'm in India, and all of the drivers here drive recklessly and they are unpredictable, so that's why my dad hesitated so long to take me to the main road.

2024.05.15 08:03 SeaworthinessLost601 Rude team mates

(I would like to preface this with I will be changing school after this year but am just seeking advice if the issue arises at the new school) I have taught fifth for almost a few years at this point. I am a fledgling teacher that is still feeling out who I am as an educator. I've had a team mate in this timeframe who has been very set in their ways. I, from the moment I started, said hey let's stay over on any day during the week, maybe 30 minutes to discuss lesson plans and give each other feedback, you name the day I'll make it work, I got nothing but excuses from said team mate. I ran a meeting for them, used the wrong data as I had never done one before and they got pissed at me and held a grudge for weeks and to find out this information I had to wring it out of them. On top of this they also told me that they hate that I ask for advice but none of the advice they give seems to work for me or that I seemingly don't apply it because I keep asking. Parallel to this they create all of the lesson plans and don't allow myself or my team mate to help, and when confronted they say "sorry, it's just what I'm used to doing". I've told them on multiple occasions that I want to be a team mate and help and when they don't let me I get frustrated. Any advice on people like this?

2024.05.15 07:43 Brother_Mediocre How bad will a year of no “official” training mess with my progress?

Sorry for the strange title, I’m just trying to find alternatives.
So I’ve been in Muay Thai for a little over a year. I’m 18 and a girl so tbh my progress hasn’t been as fast as I would like, but I am to blame as well in terms of letting my motivation control when I go to class as opposed to discipline.
Anyway, I’m going off to college in August, and I’m worried about practice. I love the gym I have so that’s already hard in itself, but it’s prices are relatively cheap ($115 for 16 groups a month and $40 per private lesson) compared to other gyms in the area I’m moving to for college, and tbh $115 (and more) a month is going to be out of my price range when I’m in college.
I have been taking notes of all the combos and stuff we practice in class/my privates and I plan to just work on those for the year, but I’m worried that I’m going to fall behind with no one critiquing me or anything regarding my technique or what I’m doing. I’d probably be able to do MAYBE one private lesson a month, if that depending on what my financial situation will look like first semester.
Is there really anything I can do? Both with the practice, but also tbh coping with leaving my gym. I love this place. I’ve just started connecting with everyone and I really have grown and learned a lot there.

2024.05.15 07:22 uyen_tran Blacklisted and Service Suspended from ATT

I got a ATT locked iPhone 13 Pro Max on FB marketplace two weeks ago. I was using it fine until this evening, it’s suddenly reported stolen and got blacklisted by ATT. To my understanding, I have been scammed and I learned my lesson.
The problem is I’m trying to use my sim on my old iPhone (unlocked) but it is still not working. I keep receiving the message “Your device is blocked fom network use…” but this phone is clean and unlocked. I was using it for two years. On the ATT app, my number is marked as service suspended even though everyone else in the family plan is using it normally.
Does it mean they also suspend my service while blacklisting the phone? This does not make sense to me because this scammed iPhone is nowhere related to our ATT account. Thanks for any insight.
